Panic Room | Round 10
NO TIME FOR WORDS, JUST PANIC!

NEWZ YOU CAN UZE

The Blues will host Sydney in possibly one of the games of the season (big call) at the worst venue in Australia (Marvel). Literally no SuperCoach news out of this one, except maybe Zac Williams is out with a calf that looked definitely like an Achilles.
Mitch Knevitt has been dropped from the Cats, which is unsurprising. If he’s medical sub then that’s less unsurprising, but Cooper Stephens could also be that. Xavier Duursma was dropped from Port and both Butters and Rozee were named on forward flanks.
Tim O’Brien back for the Dogs with Taylor Duryea out, meaning Buku Khamis will play his third game. His job security isn’t great but he’ll rise in price and is a defender if you need a rookie.
Tristan Xerri will return for North at the expense of Callum Coleman-Jones, but not many people have held the young ruck. Jason Horne-Francis, Jy Simpkin and Hugh Greenwood also return, while Jaidyn Stephenson was dropped.
In the big news of the round, Jack Steele will miss 6-8 weeks and is a trade. With byes coming up you could potentially hold if it was a certain 6 weeks, but we’ve seen what happened to Tim English. Many people are trading him to Rory Laird, who will also play in this game.
Josh Gibcus has been named to return for Richmond, and still has a breakeven of 48. Bigoa Nyuon was dropped. Devon Smith will return for Essendon with Jye Caldwell injured.
More chaos at the Giants, with Mark McVeigh dropping Cooper Hamilton. Lachie Whitfield is injured for one, possibly two, weeks as he’s battled an ankle injury this season. Finn Callaghan will also miss, as will Nick Haynes. Stephen Coniglio has been named on ball, while Josh Kelly is on a wing. Andrew Gaff was named for West Coast, while Rhett Bazzo may debut this week. Brady Hough is also in the extended squad.
Ned Long has been named in the extended squad for Hawthorn as rumours swirl the rookie will debut. Tom Mitchell has been named and his coach Sam has confirmed he’ll play in the centre, while Changkuoth Jiath will return from a hamstring injury. Connor MacDonald was dropped but may be sub again, as was James Worpel.
Collingwood has dropped rookie ruck Aiden Begg, with Mason Cox returning to the squad. Jamie Elliott is also back after shoulder surgery, Scott Pendlebury is named and Nathan Murphy will play his first game of the year. Matt Taberner, Michael Walters and Sam Switkowski have been named for the Dockers, while Josh Treacy is the only omission so far.

OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN
Friday night lights were made for this game. Patrick Cripps is the obvious one, averaging more than 120 per uninjured game. Callum Mills and George Hewett are also popular selections, while Sam Walsh has been in good form recently.
Jack Macrae averages 135.7 points per game at Mars Stadium, and 153.4 against Gold Coast in his past 5, including a low of 124 and a high of 189.
Christian Petracca or Clayton Oliver against North Melbourne should be a safe selection, despite neither player having a great historical record against the Kangaroos.
Rory Laird v St Kilda looks good too. Apart from his 93 in round 3 (first game of the season), he hasn’t scored below 116 and has five scores of seven above 120.
Lachie Neale v Hawthorn would be strong. The midfielder hasn’t scored less than 105 this year and scored 157 against the Hawks in his Brownlow year.
Ridley OUT
Unfortunately knew that 2 days ago 😞
Not sure I’ve managed to get all my premos on the park in one round yet!
Is Macdonald to buku/Thompson for my 3rd boost a no brainer? And if so, which one would you pick?
I wouldn’t use a boost to bring in Thompson or Khamis.
Agree with Damo… especially as you are trading out a R14 player for a R13 player. I would hold R14 players for now. Only use the Boost if you are in desperate trouble in R12. Moving on a NPP or R12 rookie/non-keeper now might justify pulling out the Boost
Can’t decide between Mills and Laird. Heart says Mills but head likes Laird.
Get em both but just not this week
I bought in Laird this week… Mills later.. when cheaper.. 🙏
This is what I’ve done as well. Pray Mills doesn’t go gangbusters tonight!
Hey guys last minute decision for me to make. Do I bring in Walsh or Hewett for Steele? If I get Hewett he’ll obviously end up in my backline at some point.
Hewett for me, could even leave him there he’s scoring well enough
Good luck this week everyone and to my league opponents, got some good ones this week, Holtyx2, Gatorx2, Shake, wtf, same olds , Robbocops, Tom (idun know) green shoots…will have to bring the A game this week.
You too Russty,. I have Holty and Shake this week too..
Thanks Russty, you too and everyone else. My aim for this round is to try and get my C choice right. Cripps hasnt had a great start as my VC. Lots of close matchups for me this round as well with a few double-ups but its time to start winning some or am in danger of missing finals
Crippa is starting to heat up now Kat, looking good, I have him as VC as well.
He’s not looking that great now Russty, 64 points at 3/4 time is not captain material. Looks like I’m going to have to make a C decision
No he sure isn’t, needs about 10 disposals and a few goals to redeem himself…I hope Carlton come out hard in the last and take it on, they don’t look good playing nervous
Cheers and straight back at you Rusty from the Same Olds 👍cracking team you’ve got their mate, owning Rozee and Butters makes me nervous against quality teams like yours, think that’ll be a hide behind the couch scenario today!
Cheers John, Butters went ok for you this week, made me regret trading him out.
Rozee let you down a bit…I might have the wood over you this week, but really have to watch my trades from here on in. Hope I see you in the finals mate 🙂
Rozee/Miller v your Bont/Sinclair has proved to be a mismatch, Hayes was serviceable in Preuss absence but yeah a flashback to a 2019 Cogs and a double ton would be handy today….probably need the same from Cpt Neale to get over the line as well! Cheers mate your killing it 👍
Who are people bringing in for Steele. My choices are Miller, Petracca, Wines, Bailey Smith or Kelly (GWS). My other trade would be O’Driscoll to Khurkis or Thompson (not convinced of the job security of either) but need to cover Ridley. I would also like to trade Bowey but that would require using the Trade boost (four available).
Appreciate any advice or thoughts.
I brought in Petracca.
Hey John how’s things mate?…haven’t seen you around much lately.
All fine Russty, just haven’t had a chance to get on this week. My team is in limbo at the moment, only did what I had to do this week, Steele>Petracca and O’Driscoll>Clark. Next week I have to decide what upgrades to do.
Oh yeah good excuse to get Tracca in ay? You must have a fair bit of coinage in the bank after your downgrades last week?
Bad luck going out of survivor last week mate, you went deep and that’s a good thing.
Yes it was either Petracca or Touk this week, the one that missed out next week. Looking at doing two upgrades next week. I knew I was gone from Div 1 last week when I didn’t do any upgrades, but getting to the last 14 in the Division wasn’t too bad.
I already have Miller and Petracca so am bringing in WInes as a bit of a POD and hoping he has a strong finish to the season but out of that list I would say Miller or Tracca. Think Thompson has the better JS but Khurkis might have better scoring potential. If you can afford to hold him for a while and don’t intend to field him regularly then I would go Thompson.
Probably not much help mate but I got Hewett back in…after foolishly trading him out.
Miller probs the best of that bunch with Tracca second
Thank you all for your comments and advice. You have given me much to think about. Leaning towards Petracca as he suits my bye structure. However, I think you made a good call bringing Hewett in Ruusty as he cracked the ton again.
Blues fans are loving this effort, good ole Navy Blues are looking unbeatable, nice to see the fans really enjoying their footy at the game, was different a few years ago.
russty where’s SS enjoyed his in depth comments
Not sure Neil I remember him saying something about moving to the Phillipines soon, maybe he’s doing that?
Wtf you gotta be kidding goose I was just gonna post how lucky we are to have Russty and his contributions Dont like it you don’t have to read go somewhere else
Thanks Neil, good to see at least one person has my back in here after getting openly attacked by some nasty ass troll.
There’s a lot of cowards out there these days Russty unfortunately. I’ve followed this site for years (under a few variations of Harry) and never had a problem with your comments. Very sad people resort to bullying under the cover of anonymity but that’s the world we live in today
Oh it’s you again, I was wondering when you would emerge from the primordial sludge of negativity that your everyday life is. I want you to know that your comments have greatly upset me…. LOL
I’ve been on here for about 6 years now so that’s a long time to wait to make your big debut comment. I hope you’re happy with it. It was super nasty, you really pulled off the ‘super-villain’ vibe 😉
P.S you’ve obviously never been to BigFooty or the live chat room on Fanfooty, Those guys really know how to have a go at eachother, I prefer a peaceful environment but if you prefer hatred and criticism by all means, head over there.
PPSS, I’m sure people like you are the reason why not that many people post on JR anymore…certainly not people like me.
You may want to reread Russty’s post. It was a positive comment about how good it is to see Carlton doing well this season. Nothing aggressive about it all. The type of comment you have just made is why people are hesitant to post on here in case they get attacked by people like yourself.
Hi everyone . I have two decisions.
Who do I pick out of zorko, dale and Sinclair? It’s my final defender spot
An one of tracca, parish or Laird?
Thank you
Sinclair and Laird for me Lachie, but trusting your own gut feeling is best.
JR SURVIVOR
it is getting to the pointy end of the pointy end of the Group stages of JR SURVIVOR for this season. This is when a wrong captain’s choice of a dropped mark could mean the difference between surviving or elimination.
EAGLE POWER (Div 1) was the only team this week that needed their immunity necklace to keep them alive. Well done.
ELIMINATIONS
The following teams, it was a case of close, but not quite close enough, and have been eliminated this week.
Div 1: Black Flag, Real Steele & Pecks’ Wunderteam
Div 2: River, Jaegerbomb & Beers n snags
Div 3: Jack’s Giants, The Bye & ninefa
Div 4: GoNads, Wolverine’s X-Men & The Jax

Div 4: Vaxxed to the Max
Div 5: Red&Black
Div 6: Dam Dogs
Div 7: Point Nank Range

Div 9: Thewinningchoice
there are few familiar names starting to appear wearing the immunity necklace.
good luck everyone
thanks fellas
We love what you do to make our season even better Derek.
I’ve put the “C” on Coniglio (vs West Coast, new coach)
I was dirty when I realised the Giants game was Sunday as I was going to chuck a sneaky VC on Cogs myself, just have a feeling he’s going to get his B/E at a minimum, but to put the C on him and watch him do that will go down in SC folklore, ballsy move mate and good luck.
Gutsy call Hugh
Preuss out
Pruess out
Is there an eco in here
what happened with pruess & ridley just logged on busy w/e, also missed out with vc on oliver. Not meant to be for me this year.
Trading McCreery and Daicos to Petracca and Pendlebury.
Would it be worth boosting to trade O’Driscoll to Clark (WC) so I can afford Horne-Francis to Oliver next week? Wouldn’t be able to afford it next week after Clark’s first increase. Could do Cleary next week instead, and get the def-mid swing back (Hewett- Pendles).
Have 21 trades left before this round
You should be getting Clark in this week mate even if a boost is needed. Could still pick up Cleary next week. Clark looks like the only rookie capable of tonning up and will be good bench cover.
Sinclair, Zorko or Dawson in this week?
Dawson or Sinclair might’ve been handy
Bit of a bummer when you can’t loop Clarry, Will have to take a donut in the ruck to get his score
glad i took gres for dixon
Noice call with Gresham Neil
Didn’t see any footy today and was just getting score updates on my phone.
What was the story with Daniel, 45 in first quarter thought he was going huge.
Talk of huge, had the C on Oliver, happy with that.
Touk not good, hope he wasn’t injured?
Decided not to use a trade boost to get Mills, and went with Libba, slow start but came home ok
Happy with both McCartin and DeKoning as cover for both Ridley and Whitfield. Means I’ll hold Whitfield for another week, at least won’t lose money.
get over 2300 will be ok
Had no Choice but to bring in a def. Had Ridley O Driscoll and Skinner out. Got in Sinclair for o Driscoll.
Touk just no good, no injury I believe. I brought him in last week too so it cost me along with Ridley and Preuss late outs, and had C on Neale and not Oliver. Still managed to scrape to 2328. Hoping Touk bounces back and just a bad day
Regretting not trading Cogs out right now
Spoke too soon I guess lol
He has been named on a flank all year. This week he was named on the ball. The only reason I kept him
Yeah, same. Looking good rn
Hi all, how we doing? Just got back from a weekend away with a dead phone so just logged on to see Pruess, not playing, Touk having a stinker etc. But was very lucky as I logged on at 3/4 time of the Bullies game and saw MacRae on 100, was about to put the C on a non playing player before the phone ran out but too late. Phone went dead and just saw MacRae not scoring another points in the last quarter and Clarry who is originally had the C on went huge.
Finally managed a half decent round! 2375 is not super great but with English, Ridley and Preuss on the bench I’ll take it.
Happy with this round, 2,331 won 5/10 and finally won a close one. Having the C on Oliver certainly helped as did having Cogs and Brodie, but most teams have them, so didn’t really count in the match ups.
Cameron’s been worthwhile good pickup
Cameron’s been good
should have gave him the 7years 😂 and kept Witts
Geez christ I’m playing in a League called No Shorty’s Club and a team leading the League is coming 6th overall, Presstitutes INC.. I got no hope
We dont play during the byes do we If not I am conserving trades for the run home and leagues
He’s only got 2 upgrades to go ay?…must’ve traded hard, maybe the C choice will make a diff mate.
Looks like hung onto N Martin 1 week too long and has to go this week. Still have to be pleased with what he’s given us this year. Hoping Hayes can squeeze out one more decent game then hopefully trade to Gawn or Darcy round 12. What’s happened to Max- I’m leaning towards Darcy to be honest
Giday Harry, Martin to Cleary is popular this week, not sure whether I’ll do it or not yet…Max will come good I reckon, soon as you trade him he’ll score 170 lol
Wondering what peoples thoughts are on saving our trade boosts. I am playing for leagues and am not going so well and if I use my last trade boost this week I can go 1 down and get 2 keepers in and so improve my team and help chances of winning. The trouble is, while I still have trades left, I will have used all my boosts. Should we be keeping one for finals and hope I make them or throw caution to the wind and use to improve my team more quickly? Could wait til next week and get my other keeper in then. Keen to hear peoples thoughst
good question Kat I personally would save a boost mainly for finals. I would wait NDD
The counter argument is that you have to ensure you get to the finals … having a boost trade left over that you could have used is a waste…
Probs best to keep one for the finals Kat in case you have a multiple outs situation,(tends to happen around finals time!)
Moving Daicos and Martin on…if I get Cameron I can get any player except Mills. Who would you select out of DEF – Dawson, Sinclair, Stewart,
MID – Bont, Trac, Walsh, Parish,
FWD – Parker or Libba.
Thinking Bont because he should get DPP status which means I can move him FWD later
