Can’t believe how little activity there is on here after such an eventful first round, thought there’d be hundreds of comments by now, I know the site was down for most of yesterday…(really bad timing Lek), but let’s get some interest going shall we?
Otherwise…what incentive do these guys have who keep this site going?…how about showing some actual support other than just considering your own needs and asking what other people think of your team. I have this feeling about STEELE and another about Tracca .I have always avoided both but Tracca has looked good all preseason Trading gets me a player I accidently traded who was in all my teams. Baldwin for Rachele and Steele for Tracca maybe next week maybe
Your call on Steele bud but it’s a long season remember, how come you didn’t start with Rachele?…I thought he would’ve been a lockity lock.
Needed 200k for Steele Only 2 were Cogs and Rachele He was the only missed rookie
Traccas back half of last year was very good so not overly surprised he started this season as well as he has. Steele will still be one of the best come season’s end so feel it’s a bit of a wasted trade trading him out only to ultimately want him back again. But if you can see reasons to trade him out, that’s your choice.
If Steele drops another sub 100 and Tracca smashes it again it’d be very tempting to go ahead with that mate. Might even do it myself! lol

Silly me, put Ward in my team at M8. Couldn’t decide which cheapie rookie to put in field, so went with the other 62% of coaches.
Hi mate, maybe Owens out if he doesn’t get named, actually meant to change him out for Maginess or Stephens before lockout but didn’t get home in time to do it.
McInerney and Bowey were a bit disappointing too, was considering them out for Hewett and Blakey but that’ll be after another look at them first.
Yes mate I am concerned about the Saints lack of confidence, lake of Game plan and lack of stars in general, disappointment seems to be the norm these days being a Saints supporter, at least you have something to be excited about with your new and improved Blues, hope it’s a close game this week.

Massive first round for a lot of punters. 2252 is my biggest start ever(just can’t seem to reach the heights of most of you on here!) and I still left 85 points on the bench after fielding Baldwin over N.Martin. Live and learn.

Fielding the right rookie Rnd 1 is a bit of skill but mostly luck. I wouldn’t worry too much, a lot of us had a good rookie score on the bench. Just as likely next week to be the other way round
I had the right rookies,but had 2 on the bench and couldn’t loop ,the good news is that I don’t have to trade any of them in ,the bad is I still have Owens and Baldwin, can’t win them all

Know the feeling Monkeyman, I had Dekoning onfield with the E on McCartin and the E on Durdin fwd with Hayes’ score going by the wayside. 88 points total, great to have Footy back ay!, and some rookies going nuts

I’ve always been aggressive early on in previous years, but is this too aggressive
I score 2260 with Steele captain couple with Ridley, Cripps and Whitfield all letting me down, while the old man score 2541 in R1 of our cash league and beat me heavily (ranked 35)
Doesn’t sound too crazy to me, you’d be picking up 3 good ones there, considering we get 5 extra this year…if it helps you to enjoy your SC start more, I wouldn’t advise against it, Martin looked a pretty special kind of rookie. Kinda glad I left Ward out of my side after that too.

Watched the game, it was hugely contested in the first half which doesn’t really suit his game. Opened up a little in the second half.
The ball was kinda slippery in Swans-GWS clash, alot of clangers, low disposal efficiency. The players who scored goals did well (Heeney, Parker, Green). Whitfield wasnt as effective as usual, but still got over 20 possies. Im holding him as his efficiency will improve. i think he will still average 90-105 come years end

Think I will do one corrective rookie move of Owens to Martin (via DPP) this week but will be watching closely next week how Steele goes. I know we don’t trade out premos but if he scores below 100 for 2 weeks in a row he will lose a fair bit of coin and for top dollar, I want bang for my buck. I know potentially it may be a wasted trade but if needed I could pick him up later at a cheaper cost. I usually let myself have 2 corrective trades at the start of the season. Last year it was trading out Neale when many were saying hold, he will come good. I saved a lot of money there. Will wait and see until after ROund 2 though. Hopefully, he comes good. On another note what are people’s thoughts on Hewitt? Is he a must-have? Very cheap for his output if he repeats.
Hi Kat, I’m watching Hewett for another week to see how he goes but he did look good, kinda like the first year Steele wasn’t a tagger anymore, not sure if he’ll have the same role when Walsh gets back but reckon I’ll be onboard Hewett if he scores well again this week and McInerney doesn’t for me.
Love Hewett’s potential, see how he goes this week with Walsh in (although no Cerra may not help our answers)
Also, wait a week on Martin, could get injured in the first minute and generate no cash
Thoughts on trading C. Rayner? Not sure why I went with him. over Gresham in the first place…
Sounds good to me Harry, Gresham looked good and would’ve scored probably 120+ if Higgins wasn’t such a scatterbrain.
Gresh dominated once they played him in the mids, but I’d wait another week just to assess the situation with a bit more clarity

Agree Trigga but having my backline pump out 400 points makes my finger itchy. I’ll hold this week. I picked L Ryan expecting with the talls back he’d be freed up and score well, was this a silly move?

T Green is a clone to Rowell and Oliver. A huge watch this week.
Nice pod guys, Luke McDonald has been SC relevant, 140 points at 372,1k deserved a mention.
This is his 9th season. Career ave of 70. He had a purple patch of form in 2020 where he notched up 7 tons and averaged 95. He’s certainly capable, but he now has to share points with a couple of other seagulls. I worry he’ll fluctuate a fair bit. Plus he’s only managed 41 games in the past 3 seasons. Priced awkwardly to boot.
Was only relevant for about 5 seconds in his career, but if he impresses again he’ll be on the docket
A bit of a dilemma this week… last year I wanted to make an early correction trade but decided to follow the SC wisdom and wait to R2/R3… then I got hit with injuries the following 2 weeks week and forced trades meant I wasn’t able to make the early correction.. don’t want to be caught out again this year so will probably go early. I could make two to fix a dpp structural problem, but probably not.
i kept Darcy in my team last week and was able to loophole him to take Hayes score (cheers John for the suggestion), If he doesn’t play this week I could try the same play, but the potential $$ windfall having Witts/English with Xerri is tempting.. what are peoples thoughts?
I wanted Lloyd in my DEF.. had to swap him out for R1 and went with Ryan 🤨, I’m tempted to do a straight swap if Lloyd is named.. rage trade. Anyways, have a bit of trade planning to do over the next couple of weeks to ‘correct’ any shortcomings.
Pretty much nailed the rookies, though $180k Ward’s performance is concerning. Like most I had a couple of rookies on the wrong side of the boundary. Probably switch this week and find myself in the same boat next week. 😁

Hiya Russty, yeh Ryan to Lloyd… though I don’t have Hewitt either, so that might be a better medium term option.
If I have to take Darcy out it would be for a mid-price R2 ( Grundy to become R1) with a rotating fwd option. I currently have Hayes and Dixon.. so I’d consider English as the R2, possibly adding Xerri up FWD with the assumption that he will become RUC DPP @ R6.
Given I’d need to use 3 trades by R3 to achieve this, the alternative option is to swap Darcy to Witts which would give me cash for a rookie to Hewitt upgrade rather than a sideways on Ryan.
Plenty to think about.
I think I like the 2nd option mate, Darcy to Witts and Rookie to Hewett, and keep Ryan, Ryan usually averages 100 ish, I know he only got 70 but his d/e was high although he had 3 clangers, He should be ok I reckon. Could wait on Lloyd to see how Blakey, McCartin and McInerney affect his scoring?
Hold your premos, back em in. If Darcy isn;’t named then consider going to Witts or Preuss but know in the long run Darcy will outscore them both

Ridley to Hewitt is reasonable, but you could/should wait and see after next week’s game, unless you need to execute more than 2 trades next week to fix your team. Seems your looking at 3 this week and there could be additional next week – I guess that’s the dilemma (it is mine too). There’s always the option to tap into your burst trades but you really need them as insurance for Covid cases and probably better used over the byes.
Having said that it’s a bit early on Ward.. but at $180k you’d want something better out of him by next week. Do you have $102k FWD Hayes?
Baldwin is still in the black, but another performance like that and he’ll probably become a slow burner or out of a job anyways.
Hi Lazza, am doing only the two trades to save my boost trade. Proceeded with Crisp to Hewitt ( pleased I did as Hewitt got 117 last night) and I think I will do the Ward to Lipinski. I already have Hayes and Nic Martin. I guess I just want to go hard early and pick up some quality mid pricers (who I think are great value and will go ok this year)
Baldwin looks like being dropped this week, and Ward is struggling with an ankle.

Last minute Decided to go Taranto to Butters, Crisp to Whitfield, Raynor to Brodie and Berry to Rowell.
3 and a half ticks. Although wasn’t happy when I saw Taranto’s score, but Butters came through.

Kept Ward, even though I said he wasn’t a good pick.

2239 leaves me back in the pack, but not too far away from the good coaches. Not unhappy.
Highlight of week was watching Rowell. Even though in 50% of teams, was glad I’m one of the owners, beautiful to watch, got smashed but got back up.

Wasn’t impressed with Ward… I swapped Maginness out for him, screwing my DPP structure in the process… 😡 might become Hewitt or maybe Green this week or next.
Be interesting to see where some of those high scoring oddball teams are in a couple of weeks. I was sitting in the 200’s 2nd round last year and was quickly put in my place a couple of rounds later… March champions and injuries can impact quickly. I’m sitting north of you, so hoping my trajectory is the reverse of last year.
That’s a lot of last minute moves mate after all the pre-season deliberation. Taranto to Butters, not much gained there but Ideally you’d want both I reckon. Rayner to Brodie, good call…maybe Gresham better in hindsight, Rayner still looks like Rayner.
Berry to Rowell, now that was inspired mate, we’ve just gotta hope Rowell stays injury free now, (can’t believe Rioli got off for that dangerous hit) could’ve been the end of Rowell’s season. I thought I had a decent start to the season until I saw the leader some 350 odd points ahead…crazy week haha

Hearing that Cerra is out this week (Covid) . So he becomes a R4 consideration.

This week will be the start of the JR Survivor Group Elimination rounds.
We have roughly 30 teams in each of the 9 Divisions, except there are a few places left in Division 4 & 5.
We need 7 players for Division 4 – Code 283169
We need 9 players for Division 5 – Code 389280
Please don’t join if you are already in one of the other divisions (although you can move from one to the other – there are a couple of divisions who have 34 players and if you can jump across to even it up)

We have about 30 teams in each division, meaning we will need to have THREE coaches eliminated each week from each division in order to have the TOP 4 teams in each Division merger to the CHAMPIONS Division after the bye rounds.
Therefore the bottom 3 team round 2 scores in each division (unless you have the Immunity Necklace this week) will be eliminated.
In the case of a tie, the team with the lowest overall rank will be eliminated.
