Press is very risky IMO.
Even with English as cover do you want him as R2 if Preuss is dropped? Rate him as F1 getting 95-100 but I wouldn’t take that at THE.
Preuss hasn’t been setting the world on fire in the practice matches anyway and looked behind Flynn. I’d consider dropping Hewett or Heeney for some cash and going up to Big O.
Thanks for the reply, Preuss only a cash cow stepping stone like any other 200k player. Not sure his suspension has turned me off him. Likely more a POD now. Decisions hey.
Yea I may yet go four deep in Def. Does anyone think English is a viable option starting at R2. To be flicked forward 2nd half of the season after hopefully picking up a cheap uber ruck at a discount?
Wouldn’t be too put off by him being matched up against Nit Nat. Nic Nat is a spectacular player but not great defensively. That’s what he lacks when compared to someone like Gawn. You can score heavily against him in SC points
I was keen on him early in the pre-season, and then people kept saying he’s not ready yet. I’d be more confident in him if he’d played the full game and not just 54%

B: Crisp Whitfield Sicily McInerney Hinge McCartin (De Koning Uwland)
Solid team. Imo, you’ve got the four hot/cold Mids in Bont, Petr, Neale and Cripps. It’s ok having a couple of them but not four. Rowell will score similar to Cripps and saves you $100k if you can use it for something. I’m not sold on Rayner at F3. Big breakout potential in McInerney. All the best for the year.
Great side. Perfect fwds. Can you start Ward, drop Caldwell to a cheaper Rookie and then up Hewett to a premo Defender? D3 should probably be a keeper. Or keep Hewett, put him at D4 (he is a big breakout chance) and get rid of Neale, start Ward and buy a cheap rookie Mid and a premo Def. Hope that makes sense. Have a great year.
Thought about it and see your point both ways, however I see Hewitt breaking out at Carlton with Walsh injured especially the midfield minutes should be hefty. As for Caldwell it seems he is finally set to play a big mid role this year and decently priced, if I can get a 90+ average from both will be good players to hold longer or upgrade at the byes

Backs- Crisp, short, Whitfield, Sicily, Hewitt, sinn, (Kelly, dean)
Mids- Steele, neale, cripps, serong, Rowell, jhf, daicos, ward, (o’driscoll, mead, parker)
Rucks- grundy, Marshall, (hayes)
Forwards- dunkley, Martin, butters, congilio, brodie, rachele, (Holland’s, long)
*not fussed about Rookies but really struggling about midfield structure because I’m interested in maybe a premium and weighing up berry and rowell
This is an awesome side. Agree Mids are a little skinny. Can you go Serong to Berry (think they’ll score about the same) then up Cripps to maybe Macrae or Oliver? Think that’ll look a better team on paper at least. Good luck for the year.

Hi man, Jones isn’t playing this year. Maybe try Hewett or Rioli evan at a similar price. You need to swap out a mid, probs Neale for rookie, maybe JHF (Nth) and get another premo fwd (dunkley or tarranto) as that line’s to skinny. Just my opinion though. Cheers.

Sorry bit off topic but just wanted anyones thoughts on starting Matt Crouch?
Would be a nice pod, he got 31 disposals and only played 2/3rds of the game, was a bit handball happy and is probably a bit rusty but his disposal will improve if he stays out there.
Good team. D4, 5 & 6 worry me. Could you drop Neale to Rowell and use the $200k to get a better D4. Hope you have a good year.

Hi all, been playing Supercoach for few years & this year i am spending more time on it.
Pick apart my team – feedback good or back is welcomed.
Defenders J.Lloyd T.Stewart J.Crisp L.Whitfield J.Sicily P.McCartin J.Sinn W.Kelly
Midfielders J.Macrae T.Miller L.Neale P.Cripps J.Berry J.Horne-Francis N.Daicos J.Ward B.Hobbs N.O’Driscoll E.Hollands
Rucks B.Grundy J.Witts H.Dixon
Forwards J.Dunkley Z.Butters S.Coniglio C.Curnow W.Brodie J.Rachele S.De Koning J.Hayes
Thanks in advance
Risky move not starting Dunkley, could pay dividends if he stinks it up the first couple of weeks and set you apart from the rest of the pack, but could also backfire horribly if he scores well. Personally I don’t have the stones to omit him.
If you’re playing for rank it definitely matters, if you’re just focusing on league then round 1 doesn’t matter. Witts and Rowell will almost certainly outscore Pruess and Berry though, but Pruess is obviously great cash gen if he can retain the number 1 ruck spot. Personally, I will be going Grundy and Darcy and will bring in Pruess at R3 after his 2nd game if he has cemented his spot in the side.
Yeah I agree. Have seen his game stand up in high-intensity finals and like how he fits into that team with the half back role. Tick of approval for me.

Ridley, Short, Whitfield, Bowey, P.McCartin, De Koning / Sinn, O’Driscoll
Macrae, Steele, Oliver, Neale, Cripps, Berry, JHF, N. Daicos / Ward, Hobbs, MacDonald
Gawn, Witts / S. Hayes
Dunkley, Taranto, Heeney, Coniglio, Baldwin, N. Martin / J. Motlop, Dixon
Can’t see Hobbs or Motlop getting up. prob in the same boat as me with too many $102k and not much room to change around when teams are named. I Like all your premos
Probably too many expensive rookies for my liking too. 102k just a price tag, statistically less likely to play and do well but every year’s different

Sitting on this until rooks are named:
Lloyd, Crisp, Sicily, Hewett, Bowey, Gibcus (DeKoning, ODriscoll)
Macrae, Oliver, Neale, Cripps, Berry, Caldwell, N.Daicos, Ward (C.Stephens, Mead, MacDonald)
Gawn, Grundy (Dixon)
Dunkley, English, Butters, Cogs, Rachele, Maginness (N. Martin, Hayes)
Not much left in the bank
Too may $102k for my liking. Prob Hayes to someone else so Gibcus may need to come down to Sinn/McCartin.
Yeah not real confident in Hayes. Got a pre season game which I think is why some people have him.

Which Australian Sports team was the first sports team in Australia to be nicknamed ‘The Bulldogs’?
Cheers Russty. I really like Short this season with no Houli in the side. Tiges will be looking to get the footy into his hands at all times coming out of the backline as well as taking most of the kick ins.
Ridley will be the same now they have another key defender at the Dons, he’ll be free to float around taking intercept marks.
Can’t really split the two.
McCartin and De Koning at opposite ends is a good shout, I’ll see what I can manage. It will probably come down to Sinn playing, otherwise there may not be enough defensive rookie stocks to make that happen.

Preuss being suspended for 1 week is a real bonus for me, I think. To cover his omission from my team I moved english into the ruck, Dunkley forward and added JHF to the mids.
All that I need for Preuss’ delayed start to be a win is for Hinge and Mc Cartin to play. Hinge should rise to Preuss’ price after round 3 so I can trade him out and move McCartin back which allow English to go forward again and Preuss to come in b4 his price rise.
It looks like the supercoach Nurrungbungittas are smiling on my squad early this year
LOl. Thanks Derek but if I did that I wouldn’t have enough cash to fill my backline with likely players.
I see a few are now warming to Ned long I hope mitchell feels the same way, it’s a shame that his disposal is akin to a rugby player, if he knew how to kick he would have averaged over 80 in the praccy game and aammi

Ridley or Short? Anyone nervous about Darcy after his performance on the weekend?
Dean is out for at least 6 weeks with a broken foot, Kelly didn’t play in practise game or aammi so unlikely, O’driscoll was poor in practise game and didn’t play aammi so unlikely.
With only $700 ITB you don’t have enough to turn an unlikely defender into a likely defender.
Also your fwd bench is unlikely

Hey gang
A couple of things;
The Happy Place league is only 1/2 full. Please check your email/junk for invite.
Rusty, patch, and other regulars.
Note 2.
It looks abundantly clear the cheap rooks just aren’t gonna play rd 1 so need to cough up for your JHF, racelle, hinges of the world
Only way to do this is to cut a premo on another line with the midfield looking like best choice.
So has come down to two choices to fit in the excy rooks.
Rowell and Marshall (could score well)
Berry and Grundy. (contains a keeper)
Thoughts?
It had to be a M3 set up to shore up the weak def and fwd I went early with CRISP and Dunkley for TICH and SteeleThere are a number of value miidpricers appearing we must trust
the other way is to fill the premiums in reverse. Start with M5- M8 types. Petracca, Jelly, Merrett, Neale, even a punt on Adams, Cripps or Simpkin, Brayshaw
and pick up the big boys later when they’re price drops
You could easy start with 14 or 15 ‘keepers’ that way
I’ve got Berry Rowell and Marshall Trig, no Grundy though, but in regards to how you fit all these expensive rooks and cheapy midpricers, I took one premo out of defence and mids, my top 4 are Macrae, Steele, Neale and Cripps…weak I know but strong overall.
Cheers Trigga, but was full by the time I got to it ..

Bumping this to the top…..
JR SURVIVOR is BACK
Back by popular demand is the JR SURVIVOR GROUPS
Everyone who has been involved over the last three years should know it works.
We start the season with a number of groups, with about 24 players in each group. Last year there was 10 groups, but this will all depend on how many want to play.
Each week TWO teams from each group will be eliminated.
The two teams eliminated will be the two lowest scores in each group for that round only.
In case of a tie (yes, this has happened a few times) the team with the worst overall rank will be the one eliminated.
However, the team with the HIGHEST score in each group for the round, will be rewarded with Immunity from elimination the following week (When the numbers get small, this is massive). When immunity is used, the next lowest team will be the one eliminated.
There won’t be any eliminations in Week 1.
Every week from Round 2 onward, there will be TWO teams from each group eliminated until there are only 4 teams left in each group.
We won’t play during the byes.
After the byes, the remaining teams will MERGE into the CHAMPIONS of CHAMPIONS GROUP (this is where it gets tough).
Depending on how many teams we have in the Champions Group, we will then have another TWO teams eliminated each week until the remaining teams go head to head in the Final Round of the year.
The winner will be crowned Survivor Champion of Champions.
Here are the GROUP CODES (Remember this is a GROUP, not a League, so you should have plenty of groups left to join) – only join ONE.
Div 1 515718
Div 2 678200
Div 3 130146
Div 4 FULL
Div 5 FULL
Div 6 420855
Div 7 530290
Feel free to join any division. But only join ONE (last year we had some coaches join every division, if that happens i will just delete you from all the groups)
If you join and there are already 24 teams entered, just move onto the next division (last year we had 40 in one group)
I will be adding new divisions as they fill up.
thanks fellas

Hi guys. I have two options below. option 1 averaging a combined Of roughly 170ish plus a trade eventually & option 2 a combined AVG of 200ish and potentially no trades. Rowell could be M8 and English/Marshall eventually swung forward to bring in a gawn mid season and hopefully cheaper. Which combination would you all pick…
a) M3 Oliver, M5 Rowell and F3 Rayner or
b) M3 Brayshaw, M5 Berry and F2 Heeney
just looking at that a) looks better but b) leaves me with Rayner at F3, Cogs F4 and my forward line with just 2 keepers if you class Butters as one.
Not much kitty leftover and quite a few $102 rookies in my team which makes me nervous. My team looks nothing like it did 2 weeks ago, What are people’s thoughts on how much cash to keep in the bank?
sorry should have said a) looks better but a) leaves me with Rayner at F3, Cogs F4 and my forward line with just 2 keepers if you class Butters as one.
Cogs should be a keeper Kat, I like A better until the Rayner part, do you already have Brodie in the fwd line?..I’d prefer him over Rayner…I think about 50k in the bank would be handy.
Hi Kat, I usually try and have at least 50k left over, but this season I’m just trying to get a team together that I’m happy with. I did have $80,500 left over until yesterday, I now only have $10,700
definately worth the risk his ceiling HUUUUUGGEEE. but just go into the season with the expectation that he may very well miss weeks with those niggles he always picks up. he’s already had several through the pre season.
memories of injuries last year still haunt me. not inviting that risk into my team this year
somehow he played all games last year, but at least twice he went off before 3/4 time but some how managed to play the following week.

There are some things that I am not happy/certain with.
Would love some advice (good & bad) – please be harsh and tell me what you think, no holding back…..
B: Loyd, Ridley, Whitfield, Bowey, Hinge, McCartin (Sinn, O’Driscoll)
M: McCrae, Steele, Miller, Neale, Berry, JHF, Daicos, Ward (D.Stephens, Mead, MacDonald)
R: Gawn, Grundy (Preuss)
F: Dunkley, Butters, Coniglio, Brodie, Ralphsmith, Rachele (Hollands, DeKoning)
Want to fit Heeney in the FWD but cant afford, any slight imperfections let me know!
put DeKoning in defence. the DPP swing set with McCartin is nice, but all hands on deck in defence this year. probably replace bowey with DeK and put Sinn on field (use O’Driscoll to rookie loophole) get a cheap forward rookie who is named (Baldwin, McEntee, Long)
If you put Dixon or Hayes $102k ruck/fwd in place of Preuss, with cash saved from Bowey, you can go ralphsmith to Heeney
Bowey, Preuss, Ralph OUT
Heeney, Dixon, Baldwin IN
I don’t mind the Preuss option, excluding rnd 1 at least he plays. Better than a trade if one of your rucks goes down for a couple of weeks. Very solid team.

Do I choose Bowey and T Miller or Sicily and Cripps (I also have Neale, Macrae and Steele as big mids)
You have 4 defenders who are unlikely for round 1 at this stage, 3 of them didn’t get and minutes at all in AAMMI or the practise game and 1 of them only played 2nd half in AAMMi. Upgrading them to likely players will cost more than 40k
Like the Marshall selection.

Hey NDD. Did you participate in the Jock’s Jungle draft tonight? You seemed to be timing out at player selection time. Cheers. TH
Hahahaha. Looks like it. Just as well we live in WA! Are you happy with your team? My side is solid, albeit my midfield looks weakish. Decent ruck stocks, solid back and forward lines. Good luck this season Russty! Cheers, TH.
i went very heavy in the midfield and then the forwards and punted defenders and ruck. Picked my first defender (Weitering) in round 10 and my ruck (Hickey) in round 18.
My mids are Macrae Kelly Merrett Adams Smith Rowell. So hard going 1st because you go last in rd 2. Have perryman and the gov on the pine if your interested. I need a fwd. l also took Greene won’t be there early days.
PETRACCA wines Parker Jom Ward I SMITH Selwood and Keays will do me At 6 you miss the top end players but get an almost double hit at it Getting Tracca and Olie then Parker set me up No one wanted Selwood or Ward who are top players so i could work on def which worked out better than expected then grab Selwood Job and Ward late
Not overly happy but not unhappy either, I reckon the player I literally had selected for the next pick got robbed from me at least 8 times, and having to wait the full minute for Neil every time, frustrating! haha yeah mate good luck to you too, should be a fun draft ear starting from scratch.
I was there I would lay off the red for a while mate Once again I went opposite your good self leaving the forwards till last Very happy with other 3 lines Silly old Gator kept choosing mine like you did in the other draft . I always thought I had a good team in J J NO 1 but it must be tough trying for a treble with a new team. I looked at yours and you may struggle Who was your ruck? good luck you are still like the dees A TARGET ON YOUR BACK NDD
Gawn, Grundy & Darcy all went in the first 7 picks, NicNat at 13. I could have taken Grundy with my first pick but Oliver was avaliable, if i had my time again…maybe, but in a 8 team (1 ruck) league, i knew i could get someone half decent very late. I got Hickey as my ruck.
Was after Hickey myself but settled on BIG BOY again Why were JOM SELWOOD and WARD STILL available late I couldn’t believe my luck The no.6 spot and snake draw helped
I play u 1st up Neil. My def probably not the worst Whitfield Doodee Cumming Houston Sicily have McGovern and Perryman on the pine I’ll need to trade for a fwd. any taker’s? Got o’brien pretty late happy with that.
It was my plan exactly like your DAFT draft All those Buddy Gray Danaher Rayner plus Naughton are very good at their best and as my other lines were complete it was logical
Nasty Russty and to think I named my new puppy after you Russty the chichuahua Mean little buggor barks a lot shits everywhere and wears a magpie jumper GOOD LUCk mate NDD
…and then you fell asleep lol, every pick you did said it was autopicked and always after the full minute, but hey mate, you probably ended up with a better side than mine, think I’ll just be an also ran this year, every time I had a pick set to go, someone else took it. Ended up with a very average side.
Russty believe me I picked everyone meticulosly At my end the correct name I chose was in the box At pick 6 It meant a lot of research as all the good mids and rucks went early I don’t really rate Wines but Derek grabbed Clarry and wines was the next best Luckily I had a pick in 4 turns so picked up Parker Number 6 is a hard rank to handle but 4 is really ideal What’s your best rank to start the draft All good though just an old forward line cheers NDD
TH there is a lot at stake here I took my time working thru an intricate full detail list Though I think you have a great team TH mine’s better more DEES = more points be wary fellas NDD
Just a reminder to all in Jocks Jungleland I hope you all read the rules and settings
We have a new format from season to season
You can only keep 12 players from the previous season
Meaning you can trade up to 10 players out next season
Did you run out of fingers or your abacus was farked

gday community, version 3 of the team now in. lets hear your views:
You might have 3 non-starters in your backline as prospects for Uwland, O’Driscoll & Sinn are shallow
Caldwells mid time in AAMI was mostly due to Shiel & Stringer not playing for a true indication of his likely output refer to the first practise game.
Charlie Parker is well behind McCombe in bulldogs current plans
Mitchell might be carrying a niggle
Hollands is unlikely.
If you downgrade Caldwell you might be able to get a best 22 defender like chapman, Bowey, Answerth, Ah Chee, Hinge and also a potentially live bench with a gibcus or McCartin
apart from that a very solid team
cheer, was thinking of not having sicily due to potential for more than a few weeks sidelined with reports 😉 so heres the updated team, rooks subject to change with 105k in bank: def: Ryan, Ridley, Whitfield, Chapman, Hinge, De Koning ( Uwland, O’Driscoll) mid: Macrae, Mitchell, Oliver, Neale, Rowell, Berry, Daicos, JHF, (owens, macdonald, mead) Ruck: Grundy, Gawn (Hayes) fwds: dunkley, Brodie, Butters, Gresham, Coniglio, Rachele (Parker, Hollands)
Here’s hoping this is my final team. A few tweaks here and there. Let me know what you think:
Lloyd, Ridley, Alliir, Answerth, Sinn, Kelly (McDonagh, Uwland)
Macrae, Steele, Oliver, Neale, T.Thomas, Horne-Francis, Daicos, Ward (O’Driscoll, Hollands, Clark)
Gawn, Darcy (Comben)
Taranto, Bailey, Jackson, Rayner, Rachele, Rioli (Motlop, Serong)
Removed Curnow from F4 after reading some comments in here but could easily be talked back into having him.
Yes DEREK I have tried hard to get no. 11 but no. 10 plus ROWELL MCINERNEY and BUTTERS is as close as i get I don’t like those pretend prems Whitfield types who will battle to stay in `10 gets you all those good rookies plus the must have low end mid pricers COGS BERRY etc
Just a reminder to all in Jocks Jungleland 2, I hope you all read the rules and settings We have a new format from season to season You can only keep 12 players from the previous season Meaning you have to trade out 10 players next season Cheers Gator
don’t mind that. by the end of this year i’ll have a few old blokes like Hurn, Dangerfield, JPK and a few others will be ready for retirement. poor old JPK went with the 148th pick of the draft
Akeui in def as a loophole option, assuming all other rookies are playing. Feeling close to settled now, but would love some feedback. Main problem I am trying to decide on is Lloyd and Berry or Sicily and Rowell? Currently only $400 left in the bank, Sicily and Rowell would leave me with $64500.

Jocks Jungleland 2 went well last night, Except one old and tired boxer was taking his full minute time out getting instructions from his old mate Don King, While the rest of us had to get down and Rumble in the Jungle and fight it out like Mike Tyson fighting Evander Hollyfield with a hearing aid
Battle well fought out by all, good luck to all ‘çause the G Train has hit the track and steamrolling who ever is in his path
Cheers Gator
i was under a lot of pressure. all the rain had brought down trees and powerlines, so no power last night, working from my phone with less than 20% battery power (last selection of night i had 1%), but we got it done.
looks like I can stretch to Clancy and still keep Berry thanks to fwd line decisions that we will never speak of again after round 1.
This is my current thinking.
I have two leagues that were top 100 leagues last year. Am looking for a few players to fill these leagues. Please enter if you think you can compete against players that are usually ranked in the top thousand. League numbers are – 535630 and 508666
Personally not sold on Preuss. Even if he is named every week I think he’ll share too much ruck time around the ground and doesn’t compensate with marks like Gawn.
i love the risky R2.
Preuss went and got suspended for Round 1.
However, there is even a world where i’m thinking of Hayes at R3 who plays Friday night and if he scores ok, leaving Preuss at R2. I’m not sure what i would take from Hayes to do that, 50?

161173 Lek and Patches Rabble.
Russty, John, Gator, Derek you are all welcome to join as I have 6 that haven’t returned from last year. Another 2 spots also available so please reply if you want to join. All I ask is that you don’t give up during the season.
Hi Holty, I just saw this, I would be interested if there is a place left. Let me know if there is, as I would have to leave one of my other leagues to join.
Ok, thanks for letting me know Russty, I’m in one league that only has 12 in it at the moment, so that would have been the one I exited, but if it’s full then the point is probably moot. I guess I could ask Holty on a more update thread.

I’m so close to completing my team in a way I’m happy with it but just can’t fit the last 2 in i want to complete my structure. I’m thinking of just deleting my team and starting again unfortunately. Normally my side is set a week out from start of season but not this year. Very frustrating. And having Rowell at M6 is probably a bit too deep in the mids anyway
YOU MAY NEED TO CLEAR YOUR CACHES FOR COMMENTS TO WORK
UPDATE CAME THROUGH TODAY!
Crisp, Ridley, Whitfield, Sicily, Sinn, McCartin (McDonagh, Uwand)
McCrae, Petracca, Kelly, Neale, Cripps, JHF, Daicos, Ward (Mead, Butler, Tsitas)
Fawn, Darcy (Dixon)
Trealor, Butters, Raynor, Cogs, McGovern, Brodie (Hollands, Hayes)
Team looks good, watch out for the rookies playng Rd 1. I think Rachele is a lock and not in your team.
I swapped him out for Brodie about 5 minutes before I posted this. I’m going to try find a way to get him back in.
I can’t bring myself to pick Rachele. Expensive small forward.. in a shit side. Cant see those praccy matches happening too often in H&A
Agree with Angus, Rachele is not a lock, especially as he’d be an expensive rookie for your bench. I think he’ll average 55.
Structure is good!
Would like some feedback please, avg rank 1 – 3k by years end.
Backs – Crisp, Ridley, Whitfield, Sicily, Hewett, Hinge (O’Driscoll, DeKoning)
Mids – Macrae, Steele, Oliver, Neale, Berry, Horne Francis, Daicos, Ward (Holland, Stephens, MacDonald)
Ruc – Grundy, Pruess (Dixon)
Fwd – English, Heeney, Butters, Coniglio, Brodie, Rachele (P McCartin J Hayes)
Salary $52,1k
Rookies to change once teams drop, English cover for Pruess.
Take that at R2*
Otherwise rate the team highly. Solid picks on field everywhere
Thanks for the reply, Preuss only a cash cow stepping stone like any other 200k player. Not sure his suspension has turned me off him. Likely more a POD now. Decisions hey.
Pruess won’t play R1. Suspension.
Hi Rick would you like to join a Draft League code is 583740,, Jump into Jocks Jungleland 2
English is an interesting POD, team looks great
Ridley, Short, Whitfield, Hinge, McCartin, Sinn, (O’Driscoll, De Koning)
.
McCrae, Steele, Oliver, Neale, Berry, JHF, Daicos, Ward, (Stephens, Stephens, McDonald).
.
Darcy, Grundy (Hayes)
.
Dunkley, Martin, Butters, Cogs, Brodie, Racelle, (Durdin, Hollands).
Solid team, backline rookies bothering me this year but great on every other line.
Yea I may yet go four deep in Def. Does anyone think English is a viable option starting at R2. To be flicked forward 2nd half of the season after hopefully picking up a cheap uber ruck at a discount?
Exactly what I’m considering Rick
No issues here
just remember those back 3 all have the same byes
Who’s closest sub 300k to replicate Zeibell form from last year? I can’t see it being replicated but nearest too. Opinions?
Coniglio definitely and possibly Rayner (clearly I’m a Lion’s fan)
Coniglio, Caldwell, Sparrow…not sure who else.
Heath Chapman?
i reckon archie perkins is a good shout to be a big lifter this season. although i refuse to pick essendon players so i cant have him
Same lol
Jock Reynolds DIV1
League Code – 460259
7 spots available.
Anyone bringing in Witts R2 at 380K?
Rough start to the season VS NicNat and Gawn.
He’s value if remains fit. Good opposition brings out the best in some players. I think Grundy scored 70 points in a quarter v NicNat last year.
M: Steele Bont Petracca Neale Cripps JHF Daicos Ward (D Stephens McDonald Tsitas)
R: Gawn Grundy (Hayes)
F: Dunkley Butters Rayner Cogs Brodie Rachel (Hollands Hayes)
3 of the 4 hot/cold mids went well.
B: Short, Whitfield, Hewett, Chapman, Gibcus, Sinn (Dean, Uwland)
M: Macrae, Steele, Brayshaw, Neale, Rowell, Caldwell, JHF, Daicos (Ward, D. Stephens, MacDonald)
R: Grundy, McInerney (Hayes)
F: Dunkley, Taranto, Butters, Coniglio, Brodie, Rachele (McCartin, Hollands)
Lloyd, Short, Sicily
L Jones, Sinn, P McCartin
(Boyd, R Thompson)
J Macrae, Steele, Oliver, T Mitchell
L Neale, J Berry, N Daicos, Ward
(C Stephens, C MacDonald, Hough)
Grundy, English
(Preuss)
Martin, Nash, Rayner,
Coniglio, W Rioli, Rachele
(S De Koning, Dixon)
$53K in bank
Stuck on a few H2H picks now…
Rowell or berry?
Sicily or hewett?
Berry & Sicily
I’d try to have Rowell and Berry, maybe Chapman instead of Sicily and Hewett
DEF: Lloyd, Ridley, Whitfield, Milera, Gibcus, Wanganeen-Milera (Kelly, Gould)
MID: Macrae, Oliver, Mitchell, Kelly, Neale, JHF, Ward, Stephens (Maginness, O’Driscoll, Tsitas)
RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Dixon)
FWD: Heeney, Butters, Coniglio, Curnow, Ralphsmithm Rachele (McCartin, Hollands)
Appreciate any thoughts!
Milera didn’t play in the AAMI game, think he had a run in the seconds?
Thanks in advance
witts and curnow make me nervous.
Current hope rookies optional. lloyd,crisp,ridley ,starcevich,gibcus,de koning jones/dean mccrae,steele,oliver,neale,gresham,n.daicos,ward,stephens. o’dricoll/soligo/parker. grundy gawn, combden, dunkley t thomas,heeney,cogs, rachele,hollands. murtagh/skinner. $25 k left.
Would love it if you could find $25k more and turn gresham into rowell. Does macrae to miller get it done? Good luck for the year man.
Lloyd, Crisp, Sicily, Gibcus, Wanganeen, McCartin (SDK, Skinner)
Macrae, Steele, Titch, Neale, Rowell, JHF, Daicos, Ward (ODriscoll, Hollands, Long)
Gawn, Grundy (Hayes)
Dunkley, Martin, Heeney, Coniglio, Ralph-Smith, Rachele (Kelly, Martin)
I really like this Team. I think some of the rooks won’t start but you will be able to cover them on Team naming
Lloyd, crisp, short, Whitfield, Sinn, de Koning
O’drisscol, dean
Macrae, Steele, Parish, Neale, Rowell, JHF, Daicos, Ward
Stephens, Parker, Tsitas
Darcy, Grundy
Preuss
Heeney, Butters, Coniglio, Rachele, Brodie, Maginness
Hollands, Nankervis.
Risky move not starting Dunkley, could pay dividends if he stinks it up the first couple of weeks and set you apart from the rest of the pack, but could also backfire horribly if he scores well. Personally I don’t have the stones to omit him.
Lloyd, Stewart, Crisp, Baker, Gibcus, Wanganeen-Milera (O’Driscoll, De Koning)
Macrae, Oliver, Brayshaw, J Kelly, Rowell, Caldwell, Daicos, Ward (MacDonald, Goater, Uwland)
Gawn, Preuss (Hayes)
Dunkley, Heeney, Butters, Coniglio, Brodie, Rachele (Maginness, Hollands)
$8,100 leftover, any thoughts?
Think its very risky starting Preuss and not having English in the fwd line as cover.
English was very good on the weekend, but will Stef play more TOG and English forward?
I had Preuss R2 and English F3, until now. just tweaked gawn into the rucks
Rayner or Berry?
Berry I reckon
R2 doing my head in.
Witts and Rowell?
Or Preuss and Berry, and spend the money elsewhere
Pruess is suspended round 1
One round doesn’t really matter… can play english there who I think scores well as a fwd and swap out after
If you’re playing for rank it definitely matters, if you’re just focusing on league then round 1 doesn’t matter.
Yes true. I’ve always been focussed on cash leagues but maybe ill give rank a crack
Is Caldwell a trap? I’m thinking of taking him over JHF. I’d be happy with a 75-80 ave. Who’s more likely to supply it.
Thinking the same. Is it a trap? Currently in my team over JHF plus less a few dollars though
Heath Chapman or Jake Bowey?
I like Bowey (Oliver clone)
Has to go alright surely
How is Hayes (st kilda) going to go in the ruck? He certainly wont be getting picked if Ryder is fit.
He’s 193cm… strange sort of player
Yeah not real confident in Hayes. Got a pre season game which I think is why some people have him.

Being a Essendon supporter, my SC team name has always been the “Same Olds” so E for that Q.
The Gorilla’s was Fitzroy
The Butcher’s was Carlton
The Orange Caps’ Was Carlton
The first team to have an animal as a nickname I reckon is Carlton.. Carlton existed though, in the late 1860s ‘Bulldogs’ was occasionally used
Carlton was nicknamed The Cockatoo’s at one stage
Hey guys, been playing around with my side a lot more that I would like!
This is what I’ve got so far, would love some feedback!
Back: Lloyd, Crisp, Short, Sicily, Hinge, McCartin (O’Driscoll, De Koning)
Mid: Macrae, Steele, Oliver, Neale, Berry, Horne-Francis, Daicos, Ward (Stephens, Stephens, MacDonald)
Ruck: Gawn, Grundy (Dixon)
Forward: Dunkley, Butters, Coniglio, Brodie, Rachele, Baldwin (Martin, Hayes)
Bank: $25k
If I need cash for rookies, I will go one of Macrae, Oliver or Steele down to Merrett or Kelly.
Very solid Brent, can’t really fault it, my preference would be Ridley over Short and maybe have McCartin and De Koning at opposite ends.
It looks like the supercoach Nurrungbungittas are smiling on my squad early this year
will you start Preuss at R3?
Ridley for me, once he gets in the swing of it he’ll be great.
Darcy still scored well. Imagine when he plays a good game. And Ridley for me.
How many genuine must have rookies are there? A lot seem to be not going to play round 1. Could it be year of the mid price?
they will turn up
JHF, Daicos, Rachele, Maybe De Koning, Ward, Long, Hayes
Rookies omitted because they will be changed for round 1. Interested in opinion of premium/midpricers i’ve chosen
Def: Llyod, Crisp, Whitfield, Hewitt
Mid: Macrae, Oliver, J. Kelly, Neale, Rowell
Ruck: Grundy, Marshall
For: Dunkley, Heeney, Butters, Coniglio
Players I am considering in swapping in: J. Short, Ridley, Gawn, English/Treloar
Looks like you wont have enough cash to get 6 playing defenders and a live bench on each line
A bit unsure on a few picks here. Just $700 in the bank as well makes me nervous.
B: Lloyd, Crisp, Sicily, Answerth, W. Kelly, De Koning [O’Driscoll, Dean]
M: Macrae, Miller, Brayshaw, Neale, Cripps, JHF, Daicos, Ward [Stephens, MacDonald, Uwland]
R: Grundy, Gawn [Hayes]
F: Dunkley, Thomas, Butters, Cogs, Brodie, Rachele [Hollands, Skinner]
Rookies are all placeholders at the moment until round 1 team.
Hey gang
A couple of things;
You could easy start with 14 or 15 ‘keepers’ that way
Hey Trig, didn’t receive the invite mate what’s the code?
961808 😉
Cheers mate
I’ve got Berry Rowell and Marshall Trig, no Grundy though, but in regards to how you fit all these expensive rooks and cheapy midpricers, I took one premo out of defence and mids, my top 4 are Macrae, Steele, Neale and Cripps…weak I know but strong overall.
Pretty happy with.version.1554 but def is only area that worries me
Two rooks on.deck 😱
Hey Trigga,
if you run short I’m happy to join your place 😃
Looks like it will be short
Kat, Derek and yourself can join being JR regulars
Option 1: gawn & J Ward
Option 2: English/Marshall & Rowell (M5)
option 2 for me… Rowell is value
English over marshall if stef is not named and a solo ruck..
But I like both picks
Option 2
a) M3 Oliver, M5 Rowell and F3 Rayner or
b) M3 Brayshaw, M5 Berry and F2 Heeney
just looking at that a) looks better but b) leaves me with Rayner at F3, Cogs F4 and my forward line with just 2 keepers if you class Butters as one.
Yep also got Brodie and Rachelle as F5 & 6. Maybe I put in a Ralphsmith and have some cash left over
You could bring in Xerri for Rayner.
or maybe I keep Heeney and look at defence end and swap Sicily at D4 for a Bowey or Chapman
Yeah I like that call, Sicily looked to be doing a fair bit of traditional defending than intercepting, Bowey and Chapman both looked good.
Sicily will be ok. in the AAMI Hartigan didn’t play so he was asked to play as a tall against Lynch. he should be better than his price
Hey Kat
There is a spot in the happy place if you want to join.
961808.
😎
Thanks for the invite, I’m in. That is my 10 leagues now
Chapman or Bowey are fine for D4.
I like (a) for Oliver and Rowell, but not Rayner. I like all of (b). Which is very hard for me to say, since I can’t imagine a team without Clarry.
Hi Kat, I usually try and have at least 50k left over, but this season I’m just trying to get a team together that I’m happy with. I did have $80,500 left over until yesterday, I now only have $10,700
Is Darcy worth the risk?
definately worth the risk his ceiling HUUUUUGGEEE. but just go into the season with the expectation that he may very well miss weeks with those niggles he always picks up. he’s already had several through the pre season.
memories of injuries last year still haunt me. not inviting that risk into my team this year
somehow he played all games last year, but at least twice he went off before 3/4 time but some how managed to play the following week.
Preuss too expensive to sit on bench
put DeKoning in defence. the DPP swing set with McCartin is nice, but all hands on deck in defence this year. probably replace bowey with DeK and put Sinn on field (use O’Driscoll to rookie loophole) get a cheap forward rookie who is named (Baldwin, McEntee, Long)
If you put Dixon or Hayes $102k ruck/fwd in place of Preuss, with cash saved from Bowey, you can go ralphsmith to Heeney
Bowey, Preuss, Ralph OUT
Heeney, Dixon, Baldwin IN
Im not sure Sinn plays rd 1
I don’t mind the Preuss option, excluding rnd 1 at least he plays. Better than a trade if one of your rucks goes down for a couple of weeks. Very solid team.
Do I choose Bowey and T Miller or Sicily and Cripps (I also have Neale, Macrae and Steele as big mids)
Miller
Hello All,
all thoughts welcome, rookies will be adjusted closer to next week 40K left in the bank
DEF – Ridley, Daniel, Whitfield, Chapman, Sinn, O’driscoll (Gould, Uwland)
MID – Macrae, Steele, Petracca, Kelly, Neale, Rowell, JHF, Daicos (Rachele, Ward, MacDonald)
Ruck – Grundy, Marshall (Comben)
FWD – Duncan, Butters, Cogs, Brodie, McCartin, Holland’s (Jeffery, Curtis)
You have 4 defenders who are unlikely for round 1 at this stage, 3 of them didn’t get and minutes at all in AAMMI or the practise game and 1 of them only played 2nd half in AAMMi. Upgrading them to likely players will cost more than 40k
Like the Marshall selection.
Hey NDD. Did you participate in the Jock’s Jungle draft tonight? You seemed to be timing out at player selection time. Cheers. TH
No it must’ve been past the old boy’s bedtime, 8 pm lol, was painful waiting the full minute, I must’ve been after him about 15 times.
Midfield: Oliver, Titch, Mills, Walsh, Dangerfield, Simpkin, McGrath (JPK)
Forwards: Duncan, Heeney, Thomas, Bolton, Wingard (J Camerron)
You don’t want to see my defence. Expect some trade offers!!
TH has Witts sitting on his bench waiting for when darcy gets injured
even though NDD wasn’t there, still managed to end up with 4 Melbourne players in his team
Was after Hickey myself but settled on BIG BOY again Why were JOM SELWOOD and WARD STILL available late I couldn’t believe my luck The no.6 spot and snake draw helped
your team is looking strong.
there was quite a bit of value left in the forward line as well.
i saw you were getting players like Buddy, Gray, Raynor, Daniher, Naughton with your very last picks
I play u 1st up Neil. My def probably not the worst Whitfield Doodee Cumming Houston Sicily have McGovern and Perryman on the pine I’ll need to trade for a fwd. any taker’s? Got o’brien pretty late happy with that.
i’ve got both Jeremy Cameron and his little brother Charlie on my forward bench?
I thought they was twins derek
Would u do perryman for j Cameron?
It was my plan exactly like your DAFT draft All those Buddy Gray Danaher Rayner plus Naughton are very good at their best and as my other lines were complete it was logical
Julie sure knows the game a solid team and my tip to meet demonsdelight in the granny
Nasty Russty and to think I named my new puppy after you Russty the chichuahua Mean little buggor barks a lot shits everywhere and wears a magpie jumper GOOD LUCk mate NDD
Neil is still working by his sun dial
and I still use cash I was there check the comments a minute before the start.
Correction, Meaning you have to trade out 10 players next season
Did you run out of fingers or your abacus was farked
Howdy everyone. I dont know where to post this . But will try here. 4 spots left in my private league. Head to head starts round 1 . If anyone is interested the league is BundyBears and the number is 148471. thankyou for your time.
gday community, version 3 of the team now in. lets hear your views:
def: Ryan, Ridley, Whitfield, Sicily, Sinn, O’Driscoll ( Uwland, De Koning)
mid: Macrae, Mitchell, Oliver, Neale, Caldwell, Berry, Daicos, JHF, (owens, macdonald, mead)
Ruck: Grundy, Gawn (Hayes)
fwds: dunkley, Brodie, Butters, Gresham, Coniglio, Rachele (Parker, Hollands)
appreciate any feedback
You might have 3 non-starters in your backline as prospects for Uwland, O’Driscoll & Sinn are shallow
Caldwells mid time in AAMI was mostly due to Shiel & Stringer not playing for a true indication of his likely output refer to the first practise game.
Charlie Parker is well behind McCombe in bulldogs current plans
Mitchell might be carrying a niggle
Hollands is unlikely.
If you downgrade Caldwell you might be able to get a best 22 defender like chapman, Bowey, Answerth, Ah Chee, Hinge and also a potentially live bench with a gibcus or McCartin
apart from that a very solid team
cheer, was thinking of not having sicily due to potential for more than a few weeks sidelined with reports 😉 so heres the updated team, rooks subject to change with 105k in bank:
def: Ryan, Ridley, Whitfield, Chapman, Hinge, De Koning ( Uwland, O’Driscoll)
mid: Macrae, Mitchell, Oliver, Neale, Rowell, Berry, Daicos, JHF, (owens, macdonald, mead)
Ruck: Grundy, Gawn (Hayes)
fwds: dunkley, Brodie, Butters, Gresham, Coniglio, Rachele (Parker, Hollands)
any further comments community
i’m seeing alot of teams with Hinge in them.
Crows didn’t have either Milera or Dawson play on the weekend, will Hinge get a game or have a decent role?
true, got 105k top play around with the rookies ro ensure right ones selected
In my team at the moment and will stay if fit, but he did go off with a shoulder complaint in his last game, so I might have to look at other options.
DEF: Crisp. Short. Whitfield hinge Sinn McCartin (Kelly O’Driscoll)
MID: Macrae Steele Miller Neale Rowell Berry JHF Daicos (Stephens maginess soligo)
RUCK: Gawn Witts (JHayes)
FWD: Dunkley English butters Coniglio Brodie Rachele (Dixon DeKoning)
ITB $77,000
Def: lloyd crisp Whitfield Chapman hinge mccartin (dekoning odriscol)
Mid: Neale Steele macrae Oliver Rowell JHF daicos ward ( stephens parker MacDonald)
Rick: Darcy Grundy
For: dunkley butters cog Brodie xeri ralphsmith (rachele Martin)
$19,200 in the bank
I like that your fwd line is unique but I think that you will lucky to have 6 playing defenders
It’s my first port of call to upgrade that line once a little cash has been raised.
Love the Thomas pick
Two teams to choose from
Def: Crisp, Ridley, Whitfield, Scily, Bowey, De koning, McCartin O’Driscoll
Mid: Macrae, Steele, Miller, Neale, Rowel, JHF, Daicos, Ward, MacDonald, Macginnis, Stephens
Ruck: Grundy, English, Hayes
Fwd: Dunks, Butters Coniglio, Brodie, Xerri, Rachele, Hollands, Martin
Or
Def: Crisp, Whitfield, Scily, Bowey, Chapman, De koning, McCartin, Gibcus
Mid: Macrae, Steele, Miller, Neale, Rowel, Caldwell, JHF, Daicos, Ward, MacDonald, Stephens
Ruck: Grundy, English, Hayes
Fwd: Martin, Butters Coniglio, Brodie, Xerri, Rayner, Rachele, Martin
What do you prefer, any feedback?
i like the team with Dunkley instead of Martin and the extra keeper (Ridley) in defence
Team 1.
DEF – Crisp, Ridley, Whitfield, Sicily, Hinge, McCartin (O’Driscoll, Kelly)
MID – Macrae, Steele, Miller, Neale, Berry, JHF, Daicos, Ward (Stephens, Mead, MacDonald)
Ruck – Gawn, Grundy (Comben)
FWD – Dunkley, Butters, Cogs, Brodie, Rachele, Durdin (Hollands, DeKoning)
i think this is what it has come to this year.
It’s a pipe-dream to field 12 premiums
10 premiums + 2 sub-premos (pick from: Sicily, Cripps, Butters, English)
Yes DEREK I have tried hard to get no. 11 but no. 10 plus ROWELL MCINERNEY and BUTTERS is as close as i get I don’t like those pretend prems Whitfield types who will battle to stay in `10 gets you all those good rookies plus the must have low end mid pricers COGS BERRY etc
i’ve come around to Butter, Took out Taranto replaced with Butters
i think Whitfield will be good pick this year. he is in my team instead of Lloyd at the moment on value alone
the above two cash saved has got me Rowell M5 instaed of Ward
A team that’s balanced,
Like a Pendles in full flow,
Delights and wins, no?
Love your work Ranger.
Hey Ranger.
Spot for u in happy place league if u want to join?
961808 👍
Nice one Trigga, I’m in
Just a reminder to all in Jocks Jungleland 2, I hope you all read the rules and settings
We have a new format from season to season
You can only keep 12 players from the previous season
Meaning you have to trade out 10 players next season
Cheers Gator
don’t mind that. by the end of this year i’ll have a few old blokes like Hurn, Dangerfield, JPK and a few others will be ready for retirement. poor old JPK went with the 148th pick of the draft
I guess it’ll freshen things up each year, it’ll suck if you’re happy with your team though, like I was last season..onya Dion!
DEF – Lloyd, Crisp, Short, Whitfield, Gibcus, McCartin (DeKoning, Akeui)
MID – Macrae, Steele, Oliver, Neale, Berry, JHF, Daicos, Ward (Stephens, MacDonald, Hough)
Ruck – Gawn, Grundy (Hayes)
FWD – Treloar, Butters, Cogs, Brodie, Ralpsmith, Rachele, (Martin, Dixon)
Cheers Gator
i was under a lot of pressure. all the rain had brought down trees and powerlines, so no power last night, working from my phone with less than 20% battery power (last selection of night i had 1%), but we got it done.
looking forward to the battles ahead
At least you got a team in mate
Well done getting it done mate, hope your house didn’t wash into the sea like that landslide earlier
Hey Derek did you get my trade proposal?
i sent you a few to think about
U wouldn’t do Perryman or McGovern for any of those 3?
Not really interested in Perryman who is around the same level as Vlaustin who is on my bench anyway.
Classic GvR VS mid-price madness….
Titch and $150k rookie VS Cripps and Rowell..
Cheers.
Cripps & Rowell for me, could average 200
looks like I can stretch to Clancy and still keep Berry thanks to fwd line decisions that we will never speak of again after round 1.
This is my current thinking.
Who’s Clancy?
Oliver
Oh right…I thought his nickname is Clarry.
It is.
Hi,
I have two leagues that were top 100 leagues last year. Am looking for a few players to fill these leagues. Please enter if you think you can compete against players that are usually ranked in the top thousand. League numbers are – 535630 and 508666
That ain’t me lol
I still have a few leagues I can join. Keen to join if you want
Hey guys, first team drop for the year pick it apart..
B – Lloyd, Ridley, Short, Whitfield, McCartin, O’Driscoll (Kelly, McDonagh)
M – MacRae, Oliver, Petracca, Brayshaw, Rowell, JHF, Daicos, Ward (Stephens, Sinn, Goater)
R – Gawn, Preuss (Hayes)
F – English, Bailey, Thomas, Rayner, Cogs, Xerri (DeKoning, Dixon
$45k in the bank, happy to take a hit R2 to loophole Preuss and have him as a POD
Hi Holty I jumped in mate, thanks
Joined as well
I was already in there mate
Hi Holty, I just saw this, I would be interested if there is a place left. Let me know if there is, as I would have to leave one of my other leagues to join.
It’s full John but I don’t know if they were all invited, Holty will know.
