Lek and Patch skim the eyes over the second last Supercoach round of 2020.Β
They go through some PODs, same bargain basement options and a few sneaky left-field selections to guide you home – either in your leagues or rank.Β
What are your moves this week community?
Wow! You’d be chuffed if you had Kelly, NicNat and Gaff.
Is there anyone out there that has all three AND Barass?!!
Great just F%^&*(G great
Thanks for that sad news Ranger
You playing someone that has them Gator?
I am…and he has Steele as well…599 points with 4 players. I’m doomed
Sometimes its a cruel, cruel game Juzz…
Looks like 6 teams in the top 5000 have all 3, none of them have Barass as well.
Just looking to next year…The dual Brownlow medallist had played 33 per cent of game time in attack prior to Round 16 β when he spent about 42 per cent of time in the forward half.
Fyfe being made available as a FWD-MID in 2021 would provide significant relief for SuperCoaches with many popular selections set to lose dual-position eligibility.

Nat Fyfe could be listed as a FWD-MID in SuperCoach next season.

Brodie Smith is tipped to gain DEF-MID status in 2021.
North Melbourne breakout star Jy Simpkin (45,000 teams, FWD-MID) is likely to be listed as a MID only after becoming a key cog of the Roosβ engine room in the absence of Ben Cunnington.
Western Bulldogs young gun Bailey Smith is almost certain to lose his forward status and join Simpkin as MID only after averaging 91.6 points to Round 16.
Two other top forwards of 2020 β Andrew Brayshaw and Hugh Greenwood β are also likely to be MID only, limiting the dual-position prospects.
In a boost, Josh Dunkley is in line to regain FWD-MID status and Collingwoodβs Steele Sidebottom is also projected to be dual-position.
Despite spending long periods in attack as Geelong has managed players through a gruelling season, Patrick Dangerfield is tipped to remain MID only next year.
Lachie Whitfield is likely to have one of the biggest positional shifts and could lose both FWD and MID status to become a defender.
Inject Fyfe as a forward into my veins
Dunkley to be Mid/Fwd/Ruck
And Orange-boy to boot π
Cheers Col thanks for the info, hoping we can get back to normal format next season.
Oh no, Cogs has been dropped. Not good for owners
SMH Cogs may as well be the nail in the coffin, still waiting on Simpkin, Williams, Docherty and Martin with only 2 trades left for the year. Already traded Kelly and Brayshaw last week as well.
Williams and Simpkin are both playing
Finally, Cogs to Dunkley.
Ruining my Draft league
Have two trades Left and Iβm using them to try get the win in leagues this week. Which duo would you guys go for;
Draper and Neale
English and duncan
English and Duncan for me
Hi Jamss. You have to get Neale in!! Go for De Koning instead of Drapper for the extra cash if you need it. Good luck
Was gonna YOLO on Ryan at F6 for Wicks (via Close DPP) but didn’t have the guts, now considering Charlie Cameron instead, gotta risk it for the biscuit I guess (in this case the biscuit in question is bragging rights lol).
Like it!
Best option to replace Cogs? Only worried about h2h, must win game this week.
Options are Shiel, Setterfield, Sloane, Parker. Or others similarly priced.
Parker from that crew
Hi Joe T. I’d go Setterfield from that list and add Viney and Higgins. Good Luck
L Ryan & R Gray in for Doch & Cogs (DO WE KNOW IF DOCH IS OUT LOL)
If he isn’t I can keep Doch and upgrade my last rookie Riccardi to Gray π
Hi FeartheBeard. You definitely need to trade Cogs. If you like the look of Rgray get him in. You don’t want to have $$$ sitting on your bench. Trade up on Riccardi as much as you can. Good luck
Is there anyword on Doch?
Check the afl app or website for the latest news
No word so far…I read that it’s a “low grade Calf strain”
π€ Lyons or Duckley? Lyons has been consistent all year but Dunkley looked fantastic last week.
Hi Holty01. I think Lyons is a better option. His role does change as much as Dunkleys. Good luck
Duckley for sure Quack quack! π
whats the best option for my 2 trades this week?
Option 1.
wicks -> Neale
w.day (rookie av.71) -> premium e.g. laird/Ryan
Options 2.
wicks -> Neale
Grundy -> Gawn (opponent has gawn)
Hi Shane. Always trade up as much as possible. Definitely option 1. Good luck
Any word on Doch? Unfortunately my trades may be dependent on whether he plays (got no bench cover down back with Keane and Williams). But also need to trade Brayshaw.
Was hoping to cash in Draper this week and upgrade to full premo but now Iβve got a shiet load more to deal with first.
So now Iβm not sure whether to just hope Doch plays and cash in Draper + Upgrade Brayshaw to Crouch.
Or wait to see if Doch plays but then there goes my chance to upgrade Brayshaw this weekβ¦
Also have Simpkin and Martin still but at least I should have cover if one doesnt playβ¦
Bit stuck, so any insight would be very much appreciated here!
Hi Matty. You need to cover your best players first. If you have a bench player to cover brayshaw bring him on. Brayshaw to emergency. Cash in on Draper. Save your last trade till you know if Doc plays. If he does trade up another player. Look ahead to see who you can bring in. Always trade up!
Good Luck. Hope that helps
Hi again Matty. Didn’t realise Brayshaw season over. Don’t make him emergency. Trade next week if you make it.
Hey Glenn,
Does help, thanks heaps for the reply.
Iβve cashed in on Draper so have about 250k in the bank.
Although now that Riccardi has been managed that presents another problem. Was hoping to have him as my F6 for one more round, Iβve got Mosquito and fullarton on my bench in forward so no cover. Iβve got Coleman and Schoenberg in my midfield as bench cover for Brayshaw this week but no way to swing on into my forward bench without a trade. So now I just have to hope to god that doc plays.
Iβm thinking my options are
A) upgrade riccardi to a fwd premo (have 509k)
B) trade riccardi, swing Coleman into my fwd line and bring in a mid for the same price (then Iβm left with brayshaw on my bench to deal with next week)
In saying all this I still need doc and Simpkin to both play to dodge a donut! Could be in some serious strife…
Anyone have any ideas or think one idea is better than the other? Would love any input.
Hi Matty. Is it Zac Williams on your bench down back? He is playing. If so you just need to cover Brayshaw. Trade Riccardi to a primo mid/forward (ie Robbie Gray or such) and swing with Coleman. Just my opinion. Good luck
Hi guys. My first time on this forum. To say I’m disappointed with supercoach would be an understatement!
The rules need to change to bring fairness back to the competition. Supercoach finals should not be played during bye rounds. Full stop. But if there is definitely no other option, bye round players should not forced into being traded. Their projected or average scores should count. It takes a whole season to build a great supercoach team, yet we have no other choice but to deconstruct our teams to make it through. This puts supercoaches at a distinct disadvantage when facing their next opponent who have avoided the bye. But we have 3 trades I hear you say. Ok, but is that enough? Say you have 3 bye round players in your best 22. You think you’ve got them covered but suddenly one or possibly two of your other players are rested! You now need 5 trades just to have a full team. Unfair I say…TOTALLY. I pity all the Supercoaches that were painfully forced to trade Brody Grundy and brought in NicNat! OUCH. 100+ points lost.
Any supercoaches feeling let down? Would love to hear your thoughts. Please comment.
Everybody gets the same deal Glenn can’t get much fairer than that.
The real issue is the total inconsistency with which scores are awarded. Player X can score 30pts for a mark and goal in the 2nd quarter while player Y only gets 12pts for a mark and goal in the 2nd quarter or player Z can produce 4 smothers to stop goals and score nothing while player A can handball over his head to the opposition and score 8pts.
Hi David. I agree but it’s the wrong deal. Those already through aren’t penalised. Yeah, the scoring is inconsistent and unfair. Thanks for your reply
Hi Glenn, It’s been a tough year for everyone this season, and we’re very lucky I think, that there even was a supercoach season at all…and an afl season.
It wasn’t ideal circumstances for all, I personally couldn’t keep up with the amount of games, and changes etc..that’s ok though cause I’m appreciative that it even happened.
Remember after round 1, it got canned for 6 weeks or so..until round 2 started again?
My advice is…don’t take this season too seriously, treat it like a dress rehearsal for next season in the hope where next season is a relatively ‘normal’ season.
I don’t feel let down at all, I feel grateful that there was even an opportunity to play at all this year amid a global pandemic…I’ve been playing SC since 2007 and even though this year turned out shit for me, at least it happened, and I’m happy about that.
I do agree with you about the total amount of trades though…although you didn’t mention that, but the run N gun rules shafted some people, but I believe SC were just trying to do the best they could in a fkd situation mate…can’t really blame em for that, cause the comp still survived.
I think we had 37 trades this year and I still ran out LOL.
Peace out!
Even though he is named, I have doubts in Simpkin’s scoring this week. Thinking Simpkin to Greenwood leaving Close as F6 for this week with Riccardi now omitted.
Next week – Rivers/Close to rookie, Riccardi back to Simpkin around $400K
Will only have $360K for a FWD if I trade Riccardi this week.
I wouldn’t go ‘back’ to Simpkin, once you got rid of Simpkin.
This time of year is the time to jump on anyone who is in some temporary hot form if you have a limited budget.
A Brayshaw or R Gray lads?
Thoughts on Robbie Gray or Jack Viney? Got 510k to upgrade Riccardi to either an M8 or F6. Any opinions welcome!
Gray is good.
