Cheat Sheet | Round 13

Published by Statty Matty on

Welcome back JR Community, for another week of Supercoach. I hope you all enjoyed your 3 day break. I know I did.

We’re all about trading in our final teams as much as possible, and watching out for the next 2 byes. Round 15 should be a killer. Also watch out for premos being rested, much harder to spot when teams are announced a day before.

Anyway, with no further ado, I give you …

Thanks once again Matty for the Cheat Sheet. It has helped me decide who I want to bring in this week, however, I am not sure whether to upgrade my midfield or defence. At this stage I am thinking of downgrading Rankine to Zac Foot . Mayes has a BE of 120 and based on his effort last week is about to have a massive price drop. I wanted to upgrade him to to Oliver, however, don’t have enough cash even with downgrading Rankine. However, I can upgrade Mayes to Fyfe or should I upgrade McKay to Luke Ryan or Zac Williams this week and try to bring Oliver in next week or during the bye Round where I likely to need him the most.

Shake n Bake

Sad news for Sicily owners.

Derek

He shouldn’t have even been in the forward line

Shake n Bake

Gunston to go back?

tophawk

Agreed Shake. Sicily got injured in the forward line . Sicily was tried last season swinging back and forward without success. So what does Clarko do?, repeat it and expect a different result. He got one alright, Sicily with a stuffed knee and sitting on the sidelines for 12 months. Clarkson has done a lot right in his coaching career, but this would rank as his most stupid actions as a senior coach. TH

Derek

Have Sicily to trade. Also have Houston M8 to trade, he misses 2 plus the bye, has to go.

Problem is NicNat getting rested, only 2 trades this week and Hawks v Port play Saturday afternoon before WCE team is named.

What is the chances of NicNat getting a rest? Anyone heard?

Derek

Holding Houston This week looks the besT option. Have Gould, Rivers, Schoenberg or Close to cover for him

Shake n Bake

Not 100% Derek but being there last home game might be this week. Maybe he’ll just play right thru 🤔

Graham Harris

Nic Nat will play. He said he’s fine at present and this is a must win game. Last one at home

Shake n Bake

Ridley in doubt

Bells

On the team sheet, what did you hear?

Shake n Bake

Great news

Josh

Hey everyone! Need a W this week to make finals so would love some help on trades!
Got $70k in the bank and thinking potentially Sicily and Simpson to Williams and Brayshaw (melb)
Does anyone have any better suggestions?!
Team is currently-
Laird, Sicily, Haynes, Ridley, Stewart, Docherty (Sholl, Rivers)
Neale, Macrae, Lyons, Adams, Cogs, Duncan, Cripps, Simpson (Shoenberg, Bytel, Wicks)
Grundy, Draper (Conroy)
Whitfield, Martin, B. Smith, Simpkin, D. Smith, Rankine (Hill, Close)

Joe_T

If you absolutely need a win this week then your trades should be dependent on what your matchup is and how many uniques you have vs. whether you should try match their players. But without knowing that, the combination you have works best.
You could also look at Jackson Thurlow – 360k and should score well. That gives you an extra 120k or so to get Brayshaw up to Danger/Parker or similar.

Graham Harris

What to do with Dan Butler?

Bells

Community – need to bring in two backs this week (and miss out on Foot in the process) thanks to Sicily, Mcpherson and Ling all missing.
Sicily to Williams and,
Can bring in Mills or Ridley/Saad (no bye)
Or Daniels, Short or McDonald.

Has to be Ridley I think. Mills isn’t scoring that well in mids and who knows if he’s tagging?
Are all the ins for the bombers going to affect him positively, or negatively?

Appreciate any comments.

Joe_T

Do you mean Caleb Daniel? He’s a consistent performer so I like him. Rumours are that Ridley is going to miss this week or next so I’d wait as late as possible to make that trade if you go with him. The ins shouldn’t affect his scoring.

Johnno

Thoughts on Luke McDonald as a trade in option for Sicily – he has averaged 122 last 5 rounds and looks to be shaping up quite nicely. Who would u pick out of Saad, May, McDonald or Williams – however I am reluctant to back in Williams due to his injury history and also as I already have – Haynes, Cogs and Whitfield and therefore think it might be a GWS overlaod.
Thoughts would be much appreciated community

Dave

To get to full premo on field I need +1 in def, +1 in mid, +2 in fwd. Got a fair bit of cash in the bank from Gawn down to nic Nat last week. So have a few options and I should be ok for rd15 byes. What are your thoughts?

A) Simpson & Aarts -> Foot & Hawkins. Leaves me with $395k for double upgrade next week.

B) Simpson & Aarts -> Foot & Fyfe.

C) Simpson & Noble -> Z.Williams & Fyfe. Leaves me with $71k.

Option C sounds good but wouldnt have much cash generation with current bench rookies. Leaning towards option A as I’ll be ok for rd15 byes and I like Foot’s job security. Geelong have a very easy run home and I can see Hawkins putting up some big scores (also has a low breakeven). Fyfe breakeven at 102 so he should go up in price but would still be gettable for me next week

Derek

This week is the last week of best 22 for three weeks.
do you need to be Full Premo yet?

Dave

Yeah I’m not too worried about next 3 weeks. By end of year hoping to be full premo tho so just planning out what trades will get me there…

Seeing that forwards are pretty weak as normal, do you think it’s ok running with 2 rookies on field there and completing other lines? Or more of a reason to grab a player like Hawkins now?

My current fwd line is:
Petracca, Whitfield, B.Smith, Simpkin, Aarts, D.Cameron (B.Close, Skinner)

Will

Hey guys quick one, thoughts on rowan Marshall? Hitting some good form and if he gets onto that end of year form last year he’ll pump out the 120s easily, even with Ryder out there, seems to help him roam the ground.

Dave

Comes up against Gawn (potentially), Nic Nat and has a bye before end of year. If going for overall rank i’d probably pass on Marshall

LHMORWOOD

Ryan and Fyfe + 100k leftover or Haynes and Oliver with no cash left?

Dave

I like first option. Think Haynes may be affected a little by Williams back in. Plus Haynes and Oliver breakeven both above 150

tophawk

Option one.

Steve

Finishing my Mid’s, who’s the best option?

T.mitchell
Fyfe
Parker (saves me some cash)
Danger
Lyons

tophawk

The hombre at the top of your list. Tom Mitchell. He is back big! Fyfe an injury risk and Dangerfield getting a little long in the tooth now. Lyons is a jet and could consider if you want a real POD. Stay away from Parker. TH

Steve

Thanks heaps mate. 600k for Mitchell is the only thing making me hesitate. Fyfe is just so tempting, consistently bigger scores the Mitchell but bears the potential injury risk. Although with these extra trades does that make Fyfe more viable?
Danger was trialled down forward for a few week, didn’t work great, and is now attending the most centre bounces and is 50k cheaper than mitchell.
These are just my thought processes but Agree Mitchell is a safe option.

tophawk

Yep, there are pros and cons are there for all these guys. Sometimes its weighing everything up and then make a call on your gut instinct. I hope you nail your man mate. Let us know who you choose in the end. Cheers. TH

Demons Deelight

why stay away from Parker TH? With respect to your view ,I would have him no. 2 to Tich. Check his record and you will get sick of counting tons NDD

tophawk

Fair point Neil. I owned Parker a few seasons ago and he was just garbage. A bit of cognitive bias there on my part. With all due respect to Parker, he is having a stellar season. Even so, with JPK back today, could his output drop somewhat?

Bells

JPK is back and makes Parker a riskier selection now – though it may mean nothing by the same token.

Shake n Bake

Worpel sneaky pick plays GG last game no Omeara. Wont be tagged.

tophawk

A very sneaky little pick Shake! Dont mind it. What about Seb Ross at $375K? Always comes home hard at the end of the season. He might not play because a calf issue, but he is on the watch list.

tophawk

So let me get this straight…….Sicily got injured in the forward line. WTF was he doing there? Of course! Clarko wanted to switch him between defence and the forward line intra match….Was it not last season that Sicily was tried swinging back and forward without success? So, what does Clarko do? Repeat and expect a different result. He got one alright, Sicily with a stuffed knee and sitting on the sidelines for 12 months. Clarkson has done a lot right in his coaching career, but this would rank as his most stupid (insane) actions as a senior coach. TH

Derek

He went forward and got one handball in last quarter. He was frustrated and in the last 2 mins went to lay an aggressive tackle, because he was a bit angry, he slipped a bit and got his knee bent. At first I thought it was a knock. Stupid

tophawk

Yep. I saw it. Sicily was very frustrated. He should not have been there. He is a key position defender and Clarkson should have known better after the experiment proved unsuccessful last year.

tophawk

OK Community. Who are we running with as our VC this week? I am tossing up between either Macrae or Bontempelli……Can the Bont back it up after his 199 last week? Or do I just put it on the nose of Mr consistent Macrae. What are others doing? Cheers. TH

Demons Deelight

Oliver for me Flying at the moment and Preus will win the taps Bont ,Macrae,,Tracca or Satan are all good choices

tophawk

I dont have Clayton Oliver. I wish I did! He is still a few weeks away from my team. He is an excellent VC option too IMO. What a beast he has become.

holty01

Macrae into Neale. I’m thinking the Saints will be insane if they send Steele to Neale as he is their best ball winner and they need him winning the ball with the depth of Brisbane’s midfield. This is why I think most teams don’t even worry about tagging Neale as they still have Zorko, Lyons, McCluggage etc to do the damage anyway.

tophawk

I am going Macrae into Neale as well. The Bont’s standard deviation between his best and worst is much larger than that of Macrae. I will run with consistency and Macrae’s ceiling aint bad either albeit not as high as that of Bontempelli. Knowing my luck Steele will go to Mc Cluggage and cane his butt tomorrow. I have the suitcase. LOL

Murray

Trading out Sicily.
Luke Ryan OR Nick Haynes??

tophawk

Its hard to go past Luke Ryan mate. Haynes a very solid option too although he is waxing points with Zac Williams at the moment. Do you have Tom Stewart? I am seriously looking to bring him in this week. His price is amazing. I want serious bang for my buck. Good luck mate. TH

Derek

Ryan far to expensive now. Chasing points

holty01

Ryan for me even though I have Haynes. Ryan has been playing well plus taking most of the kick ins help

holty01

🤔 Hill onfield or attempt a loophole with Foot/Wicks/Bytel/Close?
I’m thinking there is a fair chance Hill has most covered.

tophawk

Hi Holty. I reckon Hill is worth a crack on the field after his 79SC last week. On most days, he will outscore those 4 quite comfortably. Hill is made out of plywood mind you, he can break down in the first quarter and score you 9. Bytel could do OK too I reckon. Good luck Holt! TH

Russty_

Hopefully not on field for ya Holty, he’s spudding it up something shocking.

Derek

Have to trade Houston. He is my M8. Not many options at his price.

Looking at ABrayshaw or Simpkin.

Simpkin hasn’t had bye (neither had Houston) is a gun and a great price, although everyone seems to have him.

Angus Brayshaw, is his midfield time going to last?

I’m leaning to Simpkin because I can move him forward and get a Uber midfielder at M8

Joe_T

I like Simpkin out of those two mate. I’m not entirely convinced by Brayshaw and Simpkin’s DPP will be handy in bye rounds

Derek

I can get Bailey Smith. Is he a better option than Simpkin?

Russty_

Smith was awesome last week Derek and is in a better team.

Derek

I jumped on the Smith bandwagon

Russty_

Hoping he picks it up a bit in the 2nd half.

Demons Deelight

jones out for dees

Russty_

They looked like they went backwards a bit today mate, shame cause the Dees were looking fairly solid lately.

Demons Deelight

frontrunners Russty too many passengers but what they really lack is leadership .Someone like Luke Hodge that can still play maybe Selwood

Russty_

Gawny no good Neil?…I reckon Clarry would make a good VC for your dees, and future Captain.

Demons Deelight

Gawny is a great captain but you need leaders all round like Hodgey did at brissy. I really feel for Preuss Needs to be no 1 somewhere would only cost a shuffle of trades and a ham sandwich and a club gets a beauty, well worth planning for only young too
