Cheat Sheet | Round 9

Published by Statty Matty on

And so it begins ladies and gents. After being starved of footy for 2 months, we now get it blitzed up into a milkshake and force fed down our throats for 20 days straight. And don’t we love it!

The Cheat Sheet may take a slightly different form over the next 3 weeks, shorter, less players, less games, more often. I may not have enough players on each line for the sheet, so it could look different too. Who knows?

This week we’re focusing on our upgrades, lots of great targets, not a lot of downgrade targets though. Could be interesting. Sideways trades aren’t usually recommended, but if you have enough trades left, it’s always an option to trade over the byes.

I’ve swapped the ruck line for PODs. If you don’t have 2 of Gawn, Grundy or Goldy, or have plans for keeping who you have, or targetting those guys, there’s not much more I can tell you. Instead I’ve got a couple of PODs who are priced about right, and peforming pretty well. Could help you jump a few spots in overall rank, or topple your opponent in your league.

Anyway, it’s almost time to get started on the next cheat sheet. Stay safe everyone. 🙂

JohnDJ59 · 29/07/2020 at 13:12

Looking at who you have on the cheat sheet, I must be doing something right, I traded in Viney R2, Ridley R6, Smith R8, traded out McHenry R8, Taylor to Close this round and Whitfield will be coming in after his bye.

King Max · 29/07/2020 at 13:31

Look forward to the Cheat Shert!

Rivers to McPherson
(coverage for the byes)
Pittonet to Ryder
(Ryder will go to F6 next week when Goldy comes in for R2, Ryder used in future for swing between R2&F6 for injuries/byes)
Budarick to Georgiades/Coles.
(Just not sold on Coles security, thou love his cheap price)

    Derek · 29/07/2020 at 15:04

Ryder could easy miss games, depending on match ups

    Mitch is back · 29/07/2020 at 17:08

Don't like the Georgiades pick. He has played 3 games, already increased in price, and was lucky to score what he did from minimal touches last week. The main issue is he doesnt play enough games, and with short turn-around times how many will he miss.

      The Ranger · 29/07/2020 at 17:23

I'm hoping that Marshall being out means he gets games

    JohnDJ59 · 29/07/2020 at 17:52

Why get rid of Budarick, he isn't dropping in price, is getting games, is DPP, scored alright last game. I'll be keeping him for cover.

    Ally B · 29/07/2020 at 18:43

    Thanks, this is useful!! <img src="; height="1" width="1">

Sal · 29/07/2020 at 13:35

Out: fyfe, Noble, Devon Smith
In: petracca oliver close

Out: fyfe noble McHenry
In: Bailey Smith, close, any player 575k or less

Also, should I be trading fyfe? Even if he does come back this week chances are he won't score that well, plus he has a bye and will bleed cash. I should've traded him when he first got injured but didn't. Personally top option seems best as Melbourne have no bye and petracca is the number 1 forward, and clarry is in amazing form

    JohnDJ59 · 29/07/2020 at 14:08

You answered it yourself, option one.

      Lekdog · 29/07/2020 at 14:13

      1 easy

    Derek · 29/07/2020 at 14:59

Fyfe to Oliver is about as sideways as you can get. You held him, keep him. Sure he has a bye next week, but it’s an early one and it will freshen him up

    ndd · 29/07/2020 at 18:01

petracca in brownlow form and Clarry's 177 speaks volumes 1 easy

    jeffrey.k · 29/07/2020 at 18:23

Fyfe before injured 110, 143, 166 his two bad games he was injured. Oliver is grossly overrated and a perennial downhill skier and he only ave 98 against port since his breakout year and usually struggles to ton up against good teams, last week was very much an exception to the rule. The only reason to bring him in is because he's had the bye already but byes are best 18. approx 20 better choices than Oliver unless you're panicking about the bye.
Petracca is in good form and he's got Crows after port so could pump out another 150+

      derek · 29/07/2020 at 18:39

Oliver went at 73% last week. That is unreal for an inside mid. Elevated his score. Great player, but i'd be keeping Fyfe.

    Mikee · 29/07/2020 at 18:27

    One for sure mate <img src="; width="1"/><img src="; width="1"/>

FearTheBeard · 29/07/2020 at 14:47

Lloyd & Close in and field Close/Aarts/Cameron or hope S Hill plays?

Macrae & Close in and hope S Hill/Brander/Rivers get up?

    Lekdog · 29/07/2020 at 14:53

    I like B)

    Derek · 29/07/2020 at 15:02

I have same question plus Doedee.

Not like our chances that one of Hill, rivers, brander (or Doedee) play.

I hope one, otherwise back to the magnets

      FearTheBeard · 29/07/2020 at 15:41

It's my concern to otherwise it's a 0 for d6? I want to go macrae though feel I have to go Lloyd for safety? I doubt rivers or brander are in. Butler isn't.

      Any word on S Hill?

        derek · 29/07/2020 at 18:40

Freo have a bye next round. They will give Hill a rest this week as well.

    JohnDJ59 · 29/07/2020 at 19:49

    Option 1.

Kangaz · 29/07/2020 at 15:13

Bailey Smith or pretracca?

    redherringfc · 29/07/2020 at 16:50

Smith for value, Petracca for points (and he’s had his bye)

I think Smith has a break even of around 80 this week, so he shouldn’t go up too much.

If I had that choice I’d probably go Petracca this week and Smith next week.

    The Ranger · 29/07/2020 at 17:26

Petracca. Particularly because of the byes.

Shake n bake · 29/07/2020 at 16:15

Bennell rested this week

    Keenbutclueless · 29/07/2020 at 16:24

I guess we shouldn’t be surprised. Not grabbing Hibberd is hurting. Having to rely on Bennell hasn’t been fun. In his absence this week I will be looping Mahony and Close. Not a lot of optimism around that!

Also notice Majak Daw will be selected. I would be a bit nervous if I was a Mackay owner.

    derek · 29/07/2020 at 18:43

thanks for the info Shake. What about Rivers

      Shake n bake · 29/07/2020 at 18:48

Jetta out aswell McDonald sparrow in

      JohnDJ59 · 29/07/2020 at 19:51

If Rivers isn't coming in for Jetta it might be a while before we see him.

The Jinx · 29/07/2020 at 16:31

Need someone to put some sense in to me
Looking to trade out King, DSmith and Coffield

1. Close, Taylor and Gawn
2 Ridley, Martin and Close

option 2 will be running with Cameron at R2 and will be having 2 less rookies onfield. The down side No Gawn for another week, and probably will be never have Gawn in my side if he keeps pumping high score every dem week.

option 1 Will finally be at ease having Gawn in my team as a VC/C option every week and has had his bye. The down side, I will have an extra rookie onfield.

What do you community think
Am I over thinking with these trades, just lock Gawn in and throw away the key.

The Jinx

    The Jinx · 29/07/2020 at 16:36

Oh that's Dustin Martin at option 2

    JohnDJ59 · 29/07/2020 at 16:44

    Option 1

    The Ranger · 29/07/2020 at 17:33

I went thru the same sorta process Jinx and I've gone with option 1.
Best 18 makes getting Gawn more urgent for me, that extra rookie score won't count.

      derek · 29/07/2020 at 18:48

agree. Gawn is a lot of cash. but in a best 18 world it will hurt not having him.

its a pity Cameron doesn't play early and you could have put him at R3

      The Jinx · 29/07/2020 at 19:37

Thanks Ranger and to all that commented

I lost track on time fml got VC on the Bont, I thought the game wasn't until 7:50pm.

Option 1 can't believe I missed all those points Gawn scored in the past 3 weeks.

OldManMoggie · 29/07/2020 at 16:42

Any love for Hurn down back? Looks like his price has bottomed out and a couple of handy scores of late…_

    Mitch is back · 29/07/2020 at 17:28

I'm waiting till after his bye next week.

      derek · 29/07/2020 at 18:59

agree. wait a couple of weeks.

Look at Zac Williams around same price

Jason · 29/07/2020 at 16:58

I need to bring in a defender due to Hill being out, and I might as well go for either Sicily or Lloyd (I don’t mind taking the bye as I have enough coverage around my team) who should I get.

    derek · 29/07/2020 at 18:58

lloyd has had a good year, 7 tonnes in a row. Can't see that changing much.

I think he had a 120pt second half last week. Mills went into the guts and Lloyd did what he wanted in defense. If Mills keeps playing in the guts, expect more big scores from Lloyd

Shake n bake · 29/07/2020 at 16:59

So bloody frustrating. Want to paint the fence Bennell down to Close. King up to Smith. But have to do it soon. Imagine Close doesn’t get selected Thursday night. 🤔

    Connor · 29/07/2020 at 17:11

Won't know till Friday, teams named 24 hours out from now!

    The Ranger · 29/07/2020 at 17:20

    2020 = Frustrating eh Shake!
I'm taking the punt on Close.

      Shake n bake · 29/07/2020 at 17:48

Going a different path now. Still will bring in Close but l just have to be certain Ranger.

    Mitch is back · 29/07/2020 at 17:30

Agree, I think his likely to play this week with all of the Geelong injuries, and he performed well last week.

billobill · 29/07/2020 at 17:19

I'm seriously looking at Mitch Duncan. Appears great value. Tonned up all year apart from the injury. Is he still under a cloud?

    Soothsayer · 29/07/2020 at 18:17

I brought him in the week he got injured (as i always do) but held him and got a 148 or so beck. He has been super consistent above [email protected] And is a bargain. Get him

I’m also looking at Saad, he is five points a week down from Duncan but similar consistency around the 98-99 level.

Also bargains in the midfield are Luke Parker and Viney around the 520 mark. There’s plenty of good purchases there.

    derek · 29/07/2020 at 18:53

    even more value next week.

did he get a bump this week with Selwood out?

    Crippa09 · 31/07/2020 at 12:08

i've had Duncan this season and has been great. Not under a cloud at all, missed 1 game, came back last week and scored a 148.
Selwood out again this week might see a similar score. Even with Selwood in he was still scoring 120's anyway.

Mitch is back · 29/07/2020 at 17:33

Has anyone had a week where they didn't hit the reverse trades button?

I was sure it would be this week, decided on my trades over the weekend, changed them in my mind after the Geelong game, and with only 1 day before the next round thought, that's done. Now with Bennell likely to miss, figure the reverse button may get a run, so I can perform trades as required, 1 tonight, then wait for teams to drop progressively. Might end up making the same trades, but they just might change.

    Keenbutclueless · 29/07/2020 at 17:49

Balance is hard. If you want to bring in a player from tonight’s game, you need to make assumptions about selections. The backline is especially vulnerable this week. Plenty of combinations of Doedee, Hill, Starcevich, Brander and Rivers out there. I would be nervous about Mackay with North flagging Majak selection, and if Close is no certainty, then Ling isn’t either. It’s hard to know whether to make that upgrade and cop a donut down back. Personally I am going to risk that 2 of my 4 rookie defenders play, but I know that a donut will be a real possibility. And I won’t be the only person eating one!

sam · 29/07/2020 at 17:52

T watson or mckay?

    sam · 29/07/2020 at 17:56

    or ling?

I think it might be needed!

Kat · 29/07/2020 at 18:17

Who to pick out of Mcpherson, McKay or Ling as a downgrade, so hard with teams not being named

    Choppers · 29/07/2020 at 18:38

Daw has been told he's playing so McKay maybe a bit iffy.

    JohnDJ59 · 29/07/2020 at 19:57

I'm bringing in McPherson, I like his JS and he's proven he can score well.

Soothsayer · 29/07/2020 at 18:18

Luke Parker folks.

      Petracca and rookies.

      derek · 29/07/2020 at 19:04

I've got Holty in Cazaly and the Magnificent 7.

i know he has the Bont and Bailey Smith. Will be nervously watching both tonight.

        Holty01 · 29/07/2020 at 19:07

Thinking of bring stewart in a week early so i dont have to field williamsons turd again. Worth the price drop for the increase in points?

Jorg Ancrath · 29/07/2020 at 19:00

What is Ling's JS? Did Macpherson score well because Dodo was out?

    Ralph_7 · 29/07/2020 at 19:15

Not sure on Ling but I think they mentioned in the podcast that Macpherson got 70ish (someone correct me) points once Doedee was gone

ndd · 29/07/2020 at 19:27

Gonna be a cracker of a game doggies just

    Russty_ · 29/07/2020 at 19:44

Another 18 pts that qtr for a scrub kick and a handball 😂

JugHead · 29/07/2020 at 19:41

Interesting. Macrae and Dusty often start slowly and build their scores in the second half.
They are both out of the blocks fast tonight. Wouldn't surprise me if one of them went huge from here.

    JEL · 29/07/2020 at 20:28

I'd be happy if they both went huge!!

    dontblushbaby · 29/07/2020 at 20:33

I can't believe most didn't put the VC on Macrae, Tigers don't tag

Mitch is back · 29/07/2020 at 20:26

Bought in Dusty this week for Max King. Happy with that trade so far.

    dontblushbaby · 29/07/2020 at 21:00

    Dustys field kicking is sublime

Neverweaken · 29/07/2020 at 20:59

2 mins before the game. Out Devon Smith In Dusty. Left me with 1800 in the bank but very happy

Kangaz · 29/07/2020 at 21:20

My opponent has Dusty, McRae(VC) and pickett. I wave my white flag.

    The Jinx · 29/07/2020 at 21:32

Yup! I have someone in one of my league has all three and Aarts against my Bont, Daniel and Smith. And to top it I was gonna get Martin, Ridley and Close.

Just a heads up I got Gawn this week. Most of players I bring in scores poorly that week.

    The Jinx

    manolaki · 30/07/2020 at 01:26

I have someone in my league with Martin Macrae Daniel Pickett and Aarts. Decent start. Projecting 2550

Pman · 29/07/2020 at 21:33

Missed the boat on Bailey Smith last week and brought him in tonight for Devon Smith and have to say are a bit dissapointed with 73 points and didn;t make his BE of 78 which means Devon Smith is an absolute certainty to ton up this week for those that are holding him!
Wrapped with Dusty's and Kickett's output tonight, Dusty is well and truly back to his best.

    Ryan · 29/07/2020 at 21:45

Dusty was back in the school playground tonight awesome to watch

    TommyC99 · 29/07/2020 at 21:56

Its not a great score from how he started pman but for low 400k im not going to be all that mad if his low scores are 75s, especially with some of the turds we've seen from the real uber premos

Holty01 · 29/07/2020 at 21:39

Gee, maybe I should of gone with the double upgrade this week. Was looking at Martin for value but opted for double downgrade as needed another defender

Ryan · 29/07/2020 at 21:42

Hi community Just clarifying I can loop two players in the mid field knowing that I will have two emergencies on the bench and two players not playing on the ground Cheers good luck this week.

    Pman · 29/07/2020 at 21:58

    That is correct Ryan.

AuroraBorealis?! · 29/07/2020 at 21:52

Its a battle of 1st v 2nd in up there Cazaly this week, good luck John!

    JohnDJ59 · 29/07/2020 at 22:25

Thanks for that Grayson, it feels good to have made it to 2nd spot, but I really don't hold out much hope, you are on top for a reason, I'm really just hanging on by my fingernails, you've had a good start tonight as well. Congratulations on the fine season so far.

      Russty_ · 29/07/2020 at 22:29

Well done you two legends, and sorry for dragging the League down, hoping to have a bounce back this week, cheers.

        AuroraBorealis?! · 29/07/2020 at 22:39

Im sure you'll have a solid back end to the season, can't keep a SC brain like yours down for long mate

        JohnDJ59 · 29/07/2020 at 22:55

Thanks Russty, you sure are bouncing back this week and what a night for you with Dusty and Macrae.

      AuroraBorealis?! · 29/07/2020 at 22:38

Thanks John. What trades have you made this week/are planning to make? I've already got Petracca and Close locked in, waiting to see if Doedee gets up.

        JohnDJ59 · 29/07/2020 at 22:51

I haven't done any just yet, I was all set on trading out Williamson, D.Smith, Taylor and getting in McPherson, Oliver, Close. If I go with that I'll have to do all three before the Dees game tomorrow night since I need to do the two downgrades to do the upgrade. So I would be trading in two players before I know they are playing, so it's a bit of a risk. Then I look at Lloyd and I really need to upgrade my back line, so I have a bit of a dilemma.

Shake n bake · 29/07/2020 at 21:54

My son is on 550 after 4 I’m on 258 after 3 🙁

ST1974 · 29/07/2020 at 22:44

Only thing worse than Wednesday night footy is a game that starts at 7.10pm. Was seconds away from trying to bring Bailey Smith in for Curtis Taylor, however, needed to make two other trades before I could make that one and ran out of time. It may have worked in my favour with Smith only scoring 73 and I will hopefully be able to get him next week plus I have more time to consider my options for this week. Which of the following should i go with.

Option 1 – Williamson to Mckay, King to Close and Taylor to Ryder – leaves $73.5k
Option 2 – Williamson to McKay, King to Close and Starcevich to Ridley – leaves $3.5k
Option 3 – Williamson to McKay, King to Close and Starcevich to Hurn – leaves $101K
Option 4 – Williamson to McKay, King to Close and Starcevich to Saad – leaves $26k

I was originally wanted to go with Option 2 as I have been keen to bring in Ridley for the past few weeks, however, just worried it leaves with no money for next week when the bye rounds start.

Option 1 and 4 are also pretty enticing, especially Option 1 with Ryder being a POD and cracking the ton in each of the last two games.

Which way should I go Community?

    ndd · 29/07/2020 at 22:58

NO. 2 does seem the best option but I would be concerned about mckay with Daw looking set at CHB DIES ANYONE KNOW IF I CAN LOOP DOC NEXT WEEK HE HAS THE BYE

    Pman · 29/07/2020 at 23:00

My only issue with Option 1 is that it's likely at some point Ryder will be rested given his age and history and if the Saints form drops off and they start losing will they stick with 2 Ruckmen? I already have Ridley and believe he will finish as a top 6 Defender and has a lowest score of 92 so is a must have but with a BE of 104 he won't go up too much this week so I'd probably go for option 4 as Saad is a great POD and no BYE for Essendon either. Hold off for Hurn until Rd 11 after his Rd 10 BYE.

    MagicGnome97 · 29/07/2020 at 23:46

    Ridley definitely

    manolaki · 30/07/2020 at 01:20

I wanted Macrae but trying to work out who to bring in with knowing teams meant I missed the bounce

    manolaki · 30/07/2020 at 01:21

    Option 2 for sure

    TommyC99 · 30/07/2020 at 10:43

Hey mate, since the first 2 trades are the same for all 4 options so you probably didnt need to say it 4 times, but thats just me being picky ahaha.

As for which option, i tend to agree with Pman on all points. Saints dont NEED 2 rucks so he will be rested at some point, Hurn you should wait till after his bye unless you're well and truely set in terms of structure. Ridley is a great pick, and should finish top 6, although as derek has said i wouldn't be surprised if he does endure a slight dip in form as the season progresses. Saad is a nice POD and very consistent. Id probs go Ridley as he is more versatile in terms of avenues for his scoring, but saad is a really nice POD if you want to go there

Trades · 29/07/2020 at 23:24

Gawn & Close
Nic Nat & Oliver

    Joe_T · 29/07/2020 at 23:30

1st option. Gawn is a perma captain option and Nicnat may get rested at some point.

If they're going to be on field though you'll probably get more pts out of the 2nd combo

    JohnDJ59 · 29/07/2020 at 23:34

    Gawn and Close.

    manolaki · 30/07/2020 at 01:22

As much as I like Oliver Gawn needs to be in your team and NicNat is not going to match his output

E.McGuire · 29/07/2020 at 23:28

Straight swap of Dev Smith to JJK? Nearly the same price.
Yep, I wouldn't get a score from JJK in his bye round, but the way Smith is playing, his score might get culled from my best 18 anyway.
Also, JJK has a negative BE and could easily jump 40k this week………any thoughts?

    manolaki · 30/07/2020 at 01:24

No to both. JJK won't score 7 every week and when he doesn't he'll get you Smith scores so will be a roller coaster ride. Better off spending a bit more and getting B Smith

    TommyC99 · 30/07/2020 at 08:38

nah if youre jumping off an underperforming "premo" it has to be to an uber premo, otherwise you leave yourself open to another sideways trade.

And JJK might make money this week, but youre not really bringing him in to make money per say. Youre bringing him in as a keeper at F6-F7 type. Chances are if youre trading him out down the line it'll be due to poor form, or injury, in which case the money youre making off him this week will most likely be lost.

MagicGnome97 · 29/07/2020 at 23:45

McInerney to Petracca via Close makes my team look so nice, but then if Doedee (and stephen hill) are out then i'll have a 0 in my backline, but we might not know if doedee is playing by tomorrow's game.

    JugHead · 30/07/2020 at 00:02

This is going to be a big problem for us all. And not just with players who are struggling with an injury.
So much footy in such a short time means players who normally play every week will need to be rested.
There is no good way to plan for it….

    JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 01:40

I'm looking at bringing in Oliver, but to do that I need to do two downgrades and the ones I want to get in, I won't know if they are playing or not when Melbourne plays, so I either don't get Clarry and miss out on an upgrade, or fly blind with my other two trades.

      MagicGnome97 · 30/07/2020 at 01:49

why are melbourne playing so early this weekend?! my only 0 scores (if doedee and s.hill play) in my entire team and bench are melbourne players. bennell and rivers. so cant do any loopholes at all this weekend…unless stephen hill or doedee is out. and i really hope doedee is IN! I spose Gawn is a pretty safe C pick (touch wood).

        JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 02:20

Since Freo has the bye next week, I'm expecting Hill to be rested this round, but you won't know till Saturday night, so yes it makes it hard for you regarding the loopholes for VC/C. You don't have a non playing R3 ?

          MagicGnome97 · 30/07/2020 at 02:50

Darcy Cameron is my R3. I think I'm just gonna have to give Gawn the C as I can see Hill playing this week then being rested next round.

            The Ranger · 30/07/2020 at 09:31

Freo's website says Hill will miss this week.
He has an adductor strain, be surprised if he doesn't miss two.

              MagicGnome97 · 30/07/2020 at 12:46

yep. Can do the VC loophole now with Gawn. Gawn VC tonight and Neale Captain in a few days if Gawn doesn't score big. If Gawn scores big Hill will be my captain 😉

            JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 10:40

If you have Neale you could put the VC on Gawn and the C on Neale and hope Hill doesn't play for the loop, Neale just about got the same score as Max last round so it wouldn't be a disaster if Hill did play.

              MagicGnome97 · 30/07/2020 at 12:50

yeah hill is the only player i can do the VC loophole with and hes out so i have the all clear to do exactly as you said. gawn into neale. just praying doedee plays now. because with hill out doedee out will mean a zero in my backline now.

                JEL · 30/07/2020 at 14:13

If Doedee does't play, can you trade your other DEF non-starter to either Ling or Watson if either are named?

                  MagicGnome97 · 30/07/2020 at 14:36

if i knew for certain now that doedee was out i could go curtis taylor to jake lloyd via stephen hill (or just trade hill to lloyd). but otherwise i plan to go mcinerney to petracca via close.

    TommyC99 · 30/07/2020 at 09:24

Yeah its pretty frustating. I was planning on trading williamson – stewart this week, but if doedee is out i might have to change my plans so i dont get a zero. I'm treating this week as if hill wont play, and if he plays its an added bonus

      MagicGnome97 · 30/07/2020 at 12:51

frustrating part is we may well not know till after the melbourne game tonight. but if you want petracca or oliver or gawn this week with your final trade then you need to know if hes playing or not by tonights game.

manolaki · 29/07/2020 at 23:47

Not sure who to take out from this group:
Butler DSmith Bewley Budarick Noble Starcevich

And who to bring in out of:
Oliver Kelly Parker Zerrett Cogs
Close Watson McKay McPherson Ling

    MagicGnome97 · 30/07/2020 at 00:09

    D.Smith Starcevich
    Oliver Close

      manolaki · 30/07/2020 at 01:37

Can't do this option as I have Starcevich in def and can't swing

    JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 00:44

Noble to McPherson, D.Smith to Oliver, Bewley to Close. Scoring wise I would keep Bewley, but he has made his money and Close will continue the cash generation. I'm keeping Starcevich and Budarick for their DPP.

      manolaki · 30/07/2020 at 01:40

That's not a bad combo thanks.
Why do you think McPherson over McKay or Ling?

        JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 02:26

I like his JS and his scores have been alright.

          manolaki · 30/07/2020 at 07:35

          What about his price

            JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 11:13

Yes his price is a bit much, but he is still going up and could earn another 100k in the next four weeks and I like his chances of scoring better over the other two, but in the end it's your decision and the others are cheaper.

              manolaki · 30/07/2020 at 14:25

              yeh fair point I agree
Job security is better and will score more
It depends on what i want then i suppose, more money and potential donut or less money and handy coverage
              Thanks for the advice

                JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 15:29

No worries, I hope it works out for you.

MagicGnome97 · 30/07/2020 at 00:08

Which 2 to field out of S.Simpson, Close, Georgiades and C.Taylor?

    JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 00:45

    Simpson and Close.

      MagicGnome97 · 30/07/2020 at 01:46

Just realised because B.Smith and Martin are locked I can't freely choose 2 of these 4 if I go McInerney > Petracca this week which is what I plan to do.

      So…Simpson or Close?

      and Georgiades or Taylor?

        JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 02:23

        Close and Georg.

          MagicGnome97 · 30/07/2020 at 02:55

I didn't really watch the last Geelong game but are you sure Close can replicate that? 1 game and a 74 vs 3 games and an average of 79 over the 3. In a vacuum the 2nd option seems clearly better. But if from now on they are likely to score like in the last game…

I can see Georgiades spudding it up but I agree with that one. gotta get some sleep haha.

            TommyC99 · 30/07/2020 at 08:32

Simpson v close is tough. As you said what are the chances of replicating that score. But simpsons 78 in his second was particularly lucky, i didnt see him all night. I'd pick based off their role in the side, so if a cats fan can give an insight into what simpsons role actually is, that would help.

George v taylor is actually tough. I have the same dilemma after picket now comes onto my field after looping. Taylor has the better matchup, although in saying that i thought the blues was a decent matchup last week. Ive had him on field past 3 days but would love to hear other peoples choices.

              JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 10:51

I really don't like either of Taylor or Georgiades, I have Taylor and have no confidence in him, had him on field every round except 4 and you really have no idea what he is going to score from one week to the next, when his range is 15 to 100.

                TommyC99 · 30/07/2020 at 11:06

I think the 15 was injury affected so im prepared to give him a pass on that, even though it hurt. Take that away and hes only had 2 sub 50 scores. Got a very good matchup in the crows this week but at the same time i thought the blues last week was a good matchup and he stunk it up

                  JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 12:09

Yes I think you are right about the 15 score, he got a head knock and that stuffed him up and if we take the 100 out as well since it was one out of the box, that leaves him with a range of 37 to 79 which is about par for a rookie.

            JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 10:56

Really MG, I'm just giving my opinion, if you are set on a player just go for it, in the end it is your choice. Simpson and Close are about the same as are Taylor and Georgiades, just pick one of each and hope it works out.

    Daz · 30/07/2020 at 08:45

Geelong's last 2 games have been wet and Simpson look's to shine in better conditions. His big score was on a fine day. Check the weather and if fine I'd play Simpson.

      Daz · 30/07/2020 at 08:49

C Taylor play's like a yo yo score wise and is due this week.

Ja191 · 30/07/2020 at 08:45

Walters ruled out this week and has his bye next. Aarts with the save I’ll take a 75

Peter · 30/07/2020 at 10:35

Finally brought in Mcrae and put the VC on him pretty happy with that..think I'm gonna upgrade Doedee to Lloyd via Close..i think i need to start moving up the rankings…season more than half over!

derek · 30/07/2020 at 11:09

do the Saturday teams get announced this evening like regular round?

someone posted the teams come out 24 hours before each game, it that from this round onward?

    JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 11:16

Yes they come out at 6.30pm the day before they play.

derek · 30/07/2020 at 11:20

Average team value (not including cash) of the top 10 teams is $12.54mil.

Team value of the teams ranked 90-100 average is $12.08mil

teams ranked 1000-1010 average is $11.98mil

Is team value a result of rank, or is rank a result of team value?

    JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 12:00

My team value is 11,850,800 and my rank is 13,090 so my rank is out of sync with my teams value going on your figures Derek. I have to admit I never looked at my teams value until you started talking about it.

    What_Bear · 30/07/2020 at 12:48

A bit of both i think. I play for league wins and so have been building a bank for most of the season and only upgrading when i need a win. Team and cash together might tell a different story.

    manolaki · 30/07/2020 at 14:24

My team value is $12.1 million and I'm 12000th I think last i checked

surfpaul · 30/07/2020 at 13:47

Hi guys first time doing this any word on Doedee yet should i keep or trade advice.

    MagicGnome97 · 30/07/2020 at 14:43

Tom was calling himself ‘Lazarus’ the other day,” Sloane told Triple M’s The Rush Hour.

“He thinks he might be ok… zero week hammy (hamstring injury), it’s unheard of.

“We’re hoping Tom gets up, Our physios do an incredible job of getting guys ready.”

    – Thats the latest update. Sounds positive but idk we'll see what happens.

      Dan · 30/07/2020 at 17:50

Even Lazarus was dead for 4 days though, haha. I'm guessing he'd have to miss at least a week, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Jack · 30/07/2020 at 13:49

Trying to flick either Brander (via Rivers) or McInerney to a premium mid, both have byes coming up who should i trade out?
Have about 530k to spend, who should i get out of merrett, gaff (bye no issue, barely have any players with a bye next week) or even viney perhaps (no bye, very tempting)??

    TBone_23 · 30/07/2020 at 14:20

Gday Jack! I’d go Brander and McInerney out mate. Grab Ling and go up to Parker or Duncan if you have 530k. Cheers

      Jack · 30/07/2020 at 14:45

Right. Yeah I already have parker, started the season with him as a POD. Duncan still has a 150 BE looking to pass on him at the moment, also am quite cats heavy with close coming this week and already have danger and simpson. I'll also be getting in Stewart hopefully next week as my D6. If you had to rank picks out of Merrett, Gaff, Viney, Zorko how would you go??

        derek · 30/07/2020 at 15:48

        what about Cripps. even cheaper

        TBone_23 · 30/07/2020 at 16:04

That’s a good idea to diversify players, out of those guys I’d grab Gaff as I like the value. Otherwise Cogs or Cripps are well undervalued if you don’t have them mate

MAYhem · 30/07/2020 at 15:23

I traded out Brander, McInerney and Hill for Dusty, Close and Ling. I was tossing up between Dusty and Merrett. Glad i went Dusty, but Merrett is the pick of those choices. The main reason i went for a Fwd is i see a few cheap mids on the horizon over the next couple of weeks, eg Duncan, Cripps, so was happy to wait for a mid

    JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 15:33

Not sure I would be rushing to get Cripps in, he will be cheap for a reason, I've got him and I wish I didn't.

      derek · 30/07/2020 at 15:55

Cripps is a gun. was on 77 at half time last week before they put a close tag on him. two weeks before got a smack in the head.

      $478k is amazing value

      has a BE of 126.

was averaging 109 for the first 5 rounds, that is about right. so he isn't far off his cheapest price.

has his bye next week, will freshen him up before he joins my team

        JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 16:28

I'd prefer to pay a bit extra and get Parker or T.Kelly.

Neverweaken · 30/07/2020 at 19:12

Take Eggies 66 or swap Houston/Rivers to take S Simpson score. Gut says 66 from Rookie is ok score bank

    Russty_ · 30/07/2020 at 19:49

66 is good mate, I'd take that from a rook anyday. 🙂

      Pman · 30/07/2020 at 19:58

What Russty said. 66 from a Rookie is a decent score.

    JohnDJ59 · 30/07/2020 at 20:30

Anything over 60 for a rookie is like anything over 135 for your VC. Take it.

RawTiger · 30/07/2020 at 21:20

Can you bet that Melbourne won’t win this years flag?

Neverweaken · 30/07/2020 at 22:35

Never really bitch about SC but only 55 for Georgie!!

    MagicGnome97 · 31/07/2020 at 00:05

Its as though they were making up for last week where he was lucky to even get 50 and somehow got 86. This week he deserved a much higher score and they gave him a crappy 55.
