Cheat Sheet | Round 6

Published by Statty Matty on

Welcome back to another JR Community Cheat Sheet.

As I mentioned last week, if you can start your upgrade process a week or 2 earlier than others, you can get a jump on them points wise, without too much of a hit financially. On the same side of the coin, don’t wait as long for your rookies to peak before moving them on. Grab that cash, get a premo or a mid-pricer on the way up and bank those points away.

It’s a short season (only 11 weeks left, I think) and it will be hard to catch up if you fall to far behind.

Anyway, hope everyone is safe and as healthy as they can be. See ya in the comments. 🙂

EDIT: The boys have just pointed out that Jack Steven has been managed this week, so still available to trade if you want to … but don’t.

Last week we suggested Brandon Parfitt, and he pulled out lazy 98 pts. This week he’s $474,100, BE of 74 and Avg of 105. Still a very good choice, although not as cheap as Steven, will likely be a better scorer.

Just in case anyone is looking to trade him in last minute, Jack Steven is out tonight.

Great cheat sheet Matty 🙂 I'll be bringing Ridley in this week, and are holding Buderick over Brown due to his useful DPP

Also happy to hold Starchevich due to his higher scoring potential and JS. Might be gone next week

Shake n bake

Atu to debut for pies Burgoyne to be rested.

where does he play

He’s a pressure fwd Neil. Someone who likes to tackle

Shake n bake

Noble won’t play this week Quyner to get his chance.

Lots of rookies getting a gig this week mr Rankine has finally found some glue to stick his tissue paper hamstring back together so lets hope it lasts.

LOL at R O'B
Calling nic nat a fat lazy spud on twitter is sure to give us something to watch in the eagles crows game

"Run off him hard, he is lazy and unfit," O'Brien's tweet said. "Will have a field day getting ball and marking everything.
"Get to front and have grunt around the ground, and get ball on deck, beat him in this area."

"My phone's decided to cark it and I've had an absolute 'mare' on my social media today. It tweeted some of my game notes from my iPhone. I take a few of these notes every week before the game to try to pump myself and get a bit of confidence going into the game," O'Brien said.

"I make a few things up, as you can see on the notes, to try and give myself confidence.

"Coming up this week against who I think is probably the best ruckman in the competition at the moment, 'Nic Nat', I was just trying to get some confidence and get going.

"I've really put the pressure on myself now so I've really got to walk the walk this week and try to get a kick against the supertsar that is Nic Nat so we'll see how I go."

Bit of a whoopsy daisy moment there, poor fella, he must be a bit thick, not sure how a phone can Tweet things on its own, he'll be copping it this week and probably not just for that, some people will call him a racist as well.

Book-smart not street-smart!

O'Brien is usually renowned for his intelligence – he recorded an ATAR score of 99.75 in year 12 at school and is studying a university degree in biomedicine.

Hey guys need some help deciding what to do with Rowell

Should I go Rowell to
A) Walters
B) Mitchell
C) Yeo

Either Yeo or Titch

Thanks mate, reason for those 2 over Walters?

I just don't trust Walters body and also he's already in 20% of teams whereas Yeo is a POD only in 4%, and Titch is a proven #1 mid and an absolute gun when he's fully fit.

Walters bust even is 136, he is too expensive at the moment.
Yeo I am not going anywhere near but thats coming from a disgruntled owner of Sloane/T.Kelly/Coniglio at M4,M5,M6.

Walters likely to get Geary tag. I'd wait a week.

Shake n bake

I like Walters. But will drop in price again after this week

The Ranger

Sell high, buy cheap is the name of the game so out of those three, Yeo.

The Lost Boys

Hello All!

Looking for some advice on whoto bring in. I'll be trading out Rowell to Steele, and then also Pittonet (via substitution) to either E.Yeo or B.Parfitt.

Yeo obviously has more potential and history, however has been up and down this year – but does have two nice games coming up as well as going back to WA for quite some time.

Parfitt has been consistent around that 100 mark, and also has the M/F switch which is handy. He does have two tough games though – Brisbane then the Pies.

Leaning towards Yeo just due to his potential and schedule.

Hey guys, popular question, but best choice for Rowell? Tossing up whether to find value in a season in which money spent is huge, or just bite the bullet and get the best players. These are my top few.

Value: Danger, Yeo
POD: Adams, Parker
Rolled gold: Fyfe, Titch

What would you guys pick?

Who's putting the VC on Neale tonight?

Great work Statty. No. 1 priority is to off load Rowell. Can afford to bring in one of Boak, Parker, Yeo, Titch or Danger. Would also like to bring in Ridley for Brander, however, don't have enough cash to pull off both trades. Therefore, should I off load Fyfe instead for one of the ones I have mentioned above to get Ridley or stick to my original plan of trading Rowell and then downgrading one of the rookies to make cash. Also, would you put the VC on Neale (tonight) or Grundy (tomorrow night).

Fyfes playing this week mate, I'd paint the fence probably, Rowell for someone good and someone down to Aarts etc
And yep VC Neale into Grundy for me.

Thanks Russty. Would you go for someone like Boak even though he has a BE of 154 or go for someone like titch who normally scores well against the Pies because they wont tag him and get Boak once his price has fallen.

Mitch is Back

ST, just a word of advice, you can take or leave it.

Work out the team you want as you near the end of the season, then trade in the players that you want when they are cheap (or at least before they rise). Personally I would wait on Boak, as he will likely be cheaper next week. Find a player you want in your end game team, that has a lower breakeven than their average score.

On the Mitchell pick, I'm a Hawks supporter and don't think he is worth picking at this time, in fact its difficult to ignore the interstate states, given that after this week they are likely to be playing in their home states for the next 6 weeks at least.

Thanks Russty and Mitch. I really appreciate your advice. Good luck this week.

Rivers dropped, Brander not named in for WC. Hmm defence been a big problem the last two week. May have to go Rowell to a premium defender, swing Rivers to the mids to use as a loop. Round hadn’t even begun and I’m feeling the panic… haha

Shake n bake

With Rivers out will force a few hands. But was always going to go Rowell to a Def via dpp. Now with Brown out aswell. At least for me rivers will be a good loop.

Gday DJ. Brought the Riddler in last week so sounds rock solid to me mate. I’d grab Whitfield this week if you have the money too, looks like there will be definite rookie downgrade options next week like Simpson so bringing in two premos this week would make sense mate 🙂

Thoughts on either of butler or parfitt?

I can see picket punishing me for trading him out last week especially annoying because I held noble and brander

Thankfully team selections haven't been too brutal this week with the return of Bennell and Pickett in particular helping midfield benches along with Fyfe, Mcasey and a bunch of first gamer's making their debut. As a result I've narrowed my possible trades to the following;

1. OUT Viney ($493,500) IN Maynard ($543,400) & OUT Rowell ($470,700) IN Steele ($558,400} & $247.1K

2. OUT Viney ($493,500) IN Butler ($458,000) &OUT Rowell ($470,700) Maynard ($543,400) & $347.5 via Rivers DPP

3. OUT Viney ($493,500) IN Aarts ($123,900) & OUT Noble ($266,000) & IN Butler or Whitfield via Brander DPP for circa $560K

Which option do you like best? I'm probably tossing up between Options 1 and 3. Option 1 is 2 "Premo's" OUT (Rowell scores like a Premo and Viney pretends to be one) fpr 2 Premo's IN however Option 3 gives me a heap a cash for double upgrades next week.

What is a more pressing trade out – Rowell (who won't lose money) or Viney who is about to bleed cash? Any thoughts would be appreciated…

Hey Pman,

I like the whitfield pick in option 3 but thats a lot of cash sitting there. Which would be alright if you knew for sure youd use it next week, but with so many debutants this week next week might be a good time to get rid of deadwood whilst we have options. With Buderick, Brown, Starc, Noble, brander, rivers all either high BE or not playing, next week could be a good chance to double down to get warm bodies in.
So that being said i'd probs do option 1. But i like the whitfield pick over the steele pick

Cheers Tommy for pointing out I cant double upgrade next week if any of the debutants shine this week and $560K is probably too much have sitting in the bank not earning interest!

Yeah money in the bank in supercoach is at negative interest rates.

I like 1 cause it's 2 solid premos in for 1.3 …You don't need Viney hanging around any longer giving you 70's
Not sure if Butler can maintain his scoring, look at his past. And Whitfield seems to have trouble scoring these days.
Steele won't let ya down I think and Maynard's come along nicely.

Good points and now leaning towards Opt 1, will still have a reasonable amount of cash and will paint the fence next week if any of this weeks first gamer's shine. Wasn't completely sold on Whitfield either as not only is he scoring low this year he has always been somewhat injury prone.

whats the story with aarts for the tiges?
seems to be the flavour of the round atm…

with brown, rowell gould, brander, rivers, noble and possibly pickett all out I need two rookies too pick up this week or im copping donuts… can we throw some options around please and thank you!

Rowell to ridley might just be my first move

He's a 25 year old rookie Mav, looked ok last week too, only fwd though, Picket is playing mate, I'd get Ridley this week for sure, he'll get expensive next week. I was gonna get rid of Starcevich this week but dumped Brander instead, no cover in the backline for me, but I still have Sturt, Pickett and Bennell so not too bad….Mahoney's also still cheap..keeps getting games.

Thanks mate I think i'll grab ridley..
Does aarts play through the guts or just roam the forward line?
I know nothing about him obviously haha

It's either TBrown -> Bennell
or Budarick -> Aarts

I think he did a bit of both but I didn't watch the game all that closely, he had 15 disposals 3 marks 2 tackles and 8 contested possessions, d/e was 66% from 82 % gametime.

Yeah i was thinking of replacing Rowell with Dangerfield but ended up getting Ridley and keeping 100k for next week instead.

Jeez Duncan and Narkle out early, I almost got Duncan in this week too…ended up getting Steele instead.

Shake n bake

Danger to get more game time

Jorg Ancrath

C'mon CD. Neale gets caught HTB and then handballs to a player over the sideline. Gets a 14 point bump. WTF?

Shake n bake

Have him as vc but couldn’t believe it!!

Jorg Ancrath

That goal will be worth 30. Let's see…

And apparently that was 100% efficient 🙂

The Danger Man is well and truly back with 146 points and his third 100+ score in a row after only scoring 100+ once in his first 3 games. Very happy I didn't trade him out after Rd 3 and will be interested to see how many get back on board as his current ownership is only 20.5% which means he's almost a POD.

He looked great tonight, you’d be chuffed to have him in your team. Will still be a good but at his price next week too so probably won’t be much of a POD for too much longer

Mhh Sam Simpson is looking like a must have rookie next week, will be the perfect person to trade in for Starcevich!

or Brown or Budarick

'Morning community! Who's more likely to come back between Noble and Brander? Need to ditch one of them and just want to get rid of the one who'll be on the pine longer.

Noble for mine but both could appear next round

Noble I reckon

I can see plenty of doughnuts in the coming rounds, maybe time to look at MOTLOPS for that m9 f7 d7 type role. A few years back he was DPP and nearly a prem in two possies but a brilliant bench player ,too good to cull .Can't think of a current day Motlop though .Anyone think of one?

Houston for mine Perfect D6 and M9 Been better than a rookie in all games ,capable of big scores and reasonably low price 430K

In a bit of a predicament community and seeking thoughts.

One short at the back with Noble Brander Rivers. Was thinking of bringing in Haynes for one of them. Which one?

Definitely need to bring in a defender to avoid donut.

Conundrum is in the middle and forward.

In the middle I'm carrying Rowell Budarick Brown Bennell McInerney Pickett Viney. Was thinking Rowell to Yeo.

Also wanted to bring in Aarts for one of the mids listed above or Georgiades who is doing nothing for me.

Better to bring in a Yeo or is Aarts worth the hype?

Plan for next week was Simpson and Rankine so two premos made sense this week. Just didn't want to miss the boat with Aarts. Have already made mistakes trading out rookies too early only for them to play and make another 100k.

Thanks all.

Someone convince me not to bring in treloar

Thoughts on Ryan Clarke from Sydney. At the awkward price of $309k and scored 90 in his first game for the year. Is he a nice POD or should i stay clear and go with Hayden or Mahony from the Kangaroos to replace Budarick.
