Macrae Titch or bont ? Struggling to split them. Other considerations are tk and Yeo. Could be serious value in a few weeks especially when they return to Perth

    redherringfc · 01/07/2020 at 18:20

Are you planning on bringing all in at some point? If so then Bontempelli is probably as cheap as he’ll get and a bit cheaper than the others. I’ve got 3 spots to fill and looking at the same 3.

I’m going with Mitchell this week, be of 104, but he is against gws with de Boer likely to try and stop him. My gut says he’s on track to become elite again and I don’t want to miss out. I think he’ll at least get his be this week and then go on from there to be up there with Neale.

    Scouser · 02/07/2020 at 10:44

Yeo carrying a shoulder injury, I've had him from the beginning…its been a painful slide down the cheese grater and I'm unloading this week, trade-in at your peril I'd say but if you were to go with it I'd wait and see how he goes back west for 1 game at least

Connor · 01/07/2020 at 12:18

Any saints fans out there, what is Jade Gresham's role this year? Considering in a draft league

    Russty_ · 01/07/2020 at 21:15

Not sure Connor but I wouldn't pick him, too unreliable, there are better options, like Butler for instance.

Benny · 01/07/2020 at 12:21

Haven’t been hearing anybody mention Bachar Houli as an option to bring in for Stewart or Howe? Averaged 105 last year, has scored this year of 111, 110 and 68. The game he scored 68 he had 21 disposals he just used it very inefficiently. What do people think of Bachar Houli?? He’s also only selected in 4.2% of teams

    exatekk · 01/07/2020 at 13:57

BE of 141. Might be wait a week and see. Having said that, Bachar is the type of player who'd smash 141 when people are holding off! LOL

    Streaka · 01/07/2020 at 16:51

He may not travel interstate to hub as he is expecting a baby so Trent Cochin was saying.

      Benny · 01/07/2020 at 19:04

Okay so who would you boys take out of Sicily, Haynes, Crisp or Maynard then?? Cheers guys

        redherringfc · 01/07/2020 at 20:44

        I’d take Crisp.

        Scouser · 02/07/2020 at 10:45

Haynes looks the most consistent, Maynard probably offers a bit more ceiling.

Mikee · 01/07/2020 at 12:29

Serong v Tom Green?

    Streaka · 01/07/2020 at 16:53

Both should get some game time with Fyfe and Williams out, hard to Split but I'd go Serong due to Freo gonna give the kids a go this year you'd think.

cattery · 01/07/2020 at 13:17

best forward to bring in this week? trading out darcy macpherson.
or hold?

    redherringfc · 01/07/2020 at 18:39

I’m rolling the dice on Parfitt up front this week.

If you want to play the high risk game*, have a go at Membrey.

(*high risk probably means ridiculously stupid)

    Russty_ · 01/07/2020 at 20:10

Wingard, Butler, Simpkin maybe Parfitt?..anyone who's in form cause a fair few are out of form eg Dusty, Rozee, Heeney, Whitfield.
    I wouldn't hold Macpherson, he's too unreliable.

Rivo · 01/07/2020 at 13:53

Great podcast lads. Have to trade & playing safe this week….
Trading Fyfe & Howe to Mitchell & Lloyd.

I’m worried that Fyfe will miss more than weeks and the rookie cover is not solid enough for that long. Also avoiding the “value traps“ in such a compromised season, so passing on Ridley & Simpkin for now. Mad or Wise?

    Rivo · 01/07/2020 at 13:55

๐Ÿ‘†๐ŸฝFyfe could miss more than 2 weeks.

      The Jinx · 01/07/2020 at 14:04

I'm thinking the same, he might miss more than two weeks and he might lose some cash for a couple of weeks if does come back.

    Streaka · 01/07/2020 at 16:55

McCluggage has a low BE and is in form that's who'll I'll be bringing in to warm Fyfe's seat.

      Rivo · 01/07/2020 at 19:30

McCluggage a nice POD too and a serious breakout contender this year. Don’t mind it!

The Jinx · 01/07/2020 at 14:01

Love the Podcast fellas๐Ÿ‘

3 injuries to deal with this week the likes of Fyfe, Howe and Naismith. Moving up the Ranking nicely, would like to maintain that rise to ranking by trying to maximise onfield points this week. Will be offloading Fyfe this week, this say 1 to 2 weeks he'll be out, just not confident on how he'll do, when he comes back and could bleed some cash.

Options
1. Fyfe to Parker and Naismith to Ridley (via Williams)
64k leftover holding Howe for either Goldy or Gawn next week.
2. Fyfe to Parker and Howe to Haynes
210k leftover, by holding Naismith i wont have cover in the back and might not have enough to get either Goldy or Gawn next week.

3. Gamble with Fyfe to McCluggage and Naismith to Ridley (via Williams)
My concern is having to trade both later on and that 2 to 4 trades wasted.

What do you think community, any suggestions or opinions are greatly appreciated.

Cheers
The Jinx.

    Choppers · 01/07/2020 at 14:08

Wait for teams to drop and then if the planets all align, Option 2. (assuming Naismith is your R3)

      The Jinx · 01/07/2020 at 20:52

Unfortunately Naismith is/was my R2. Got Cameron at R3 and Ceglar up FWD.

    Derek · 01/07/2020 at 16:05

I have same injury problems. Wouldn’t you trade Howe and Naismith this week as they are long term injuries. Hold Fyfe and see what the news on him Is next week?

Freo have Sunday game, use Fyfe to loop a couple of midfield rookies who are better than the defence rookies (just) To cover Fyfe

      The Jinx · 01/07/2020 at 20:31

      Thanks Derek

As much as I want to keep Fyfe, Gut says to trade him and maximise my onfield points for the next couple of weeks. Have decided to Trade Fyfe and Howe this week for two uber Premos, will see what my options are next week if should double downgrade or upgrade Naismith to a premo.

Had the same gut feeling with Bont earlier this season to trade him out and bring him at a cheaper price. The only thing stop me trading out Bont it was too early of the season and didn't know who trade him to.

I guess you fellas might be wondering who I'm picking up.
Fyfe to Lloyd and Howe to Gawn

For 4 weeks I have been alternating Naismith, Ceglar and Cameron at R2 & R3. It's was stressful and taunting seeing that comno each week.

I think doing these trades should make me at ease a little each week.

      Cheers
      The Jinx

        Russty_ · 01/07/2020 at 21:05

Hi Jinxy, I don't reckon there are any wrong decisions this year, it's like Fantasy in that you can just trade in the flavour of the week if you want to ( whoever's on a hot run)…not having to spread 30 trades out over 23 rounds is a big change from usual. I do the same thing in my draft sides as well, just get in anyone who's in form lol, from the free agent list mostly.
All that matters in the end is that ya had fun and hopefully the season gets to the end without getting stuffed up by Covid.

You'll probably sleep better now knowing you have the two big G's in the ruck…although it's really three big G's this year ๐Ÿ™‚

          The Jinx · 01/07/2020 at 21:28

          You're not wrong Russty

It's like a lottery, and trades seemed to be unlimited this year. But I feel, if I don't watch who I trade in, I might be wasting trades having to trade them out again. So tempting to just keep trading whoever is on a hot form.

3Gs can only pick two either way you should go wrong or maybe.lol
But yeah, I can now relax a little having 2 of the Gs in the Ruck.

Oh! I think I'm playing you this week. Good luck to us both mate.

            Russty_ · 01/07/2020 at 21:39

Well my side's been out of form so maybe I bounce back strong this week, game on bro.
You'll be right with trades…I look at my side now and think I only really need to replace 6 players, but then you have to factor in the injuries also, there'll be plenty of them to come.

        Derek · 01/07/2020 at 23:03

You could be overlooking a chance to save a bit of cash and get rid of some rookies next week

We have all seen what the non-Rowell rookies are doing this year. 30’s and 40’s and having them on field will kill a good week

Lloyd and Gawn are big ticket items and you are paying top dollar.

If you look at slightly cheaper options and bank some cash to upgrade a couple of rookies (Naismith included) next week

No good having Gawn and Lloyd scoring 130+ if you have two rookies scoring 28 and 41

          The Jinx · 01/07/2020 at 23:31

Thats why I'm bringing in Lloyd and Gawn in this week. I don't think I'll have a better opportunity like this again, I did mention, will see my options next week, whether I'll double downgrade (including Naismith) or 1 down and 1 up. The thing with Naismith he ain't losing any cash nor gaining, he's my R3 ATM could use him as a loophole for a while if I need to get rid off rookies before him.

Obviously next week I'll be looking at culling rookies. Unfortunately this week I'm more concentrating on replacing injured players with another who can deliver points week on week out and not have to worry trading them out again unless injury occurs.

I am hoping by round 7 or 8 I'll have enough to double upgrade (should also have enough to bring Fyfe back in at cheaper price)

            The Jinx · 01/07/2020 at 23:51

            Onfield playing Rookies
            Back 2
            Mid 3
            Fwd 2
I think that's a pretty good number of rookies. Have cover in all three positions, unless few will get drop this week. Then I'll need to reassess my trades.

Choppers · 01/07/2020 at 18:55

Nice Podcast and you've convinced me on Ridley.
I'm going Howe to Ridley and
either Pickett/Taylor to Bontempelli, will leave me with either 141K/182K in kitty depending on which way I fly.

I had considered Howe to Bont via DPP's and Pickett to Mahony but I think I prefer the other trade.

Any thoughts?

Benny · 01/07/2020 at 19:05

Who and why would you guys select out of Sicily, Haynes, Crisp, Maynard and Caleb Daniel?? Cheers guys

    Russty_ · 01/07/2020 at 20:07

Sicily is a bit of a Rollercoaster but can score big, Crisp is fairly reliable for an 85 to 95 average, Maynard looking good this year, Daniel scores better down back, it's a hard one Benny cause they all score fairly similar, if I had to I'd choose Maynard, cause it could be his breakout to elite status year.

      Benny · 01/07/2020 at 20:10

Thanks for the help man. And even Shannon Hurn too? Do you think he could go huge after he’s back home and out of the Gold Coast hub in a week

        Russty_ · 01/07/2020 at 20:17

I'd definitely keep him on your radar Benny, he's a gun top 6 easy and will be much better scoring back in safe W.A
He could drop some more cash this week too, then pounce on him.

    Billioux · 01/07/2020 at 20:07

Sicily. Reason cos he will do your head in most weeks.. and still get 100plus. Its a ride.

    The Jinx · 01/07/2020 at 20:50

    Agree with Russty

I have Sicily day one, he is like a yo-yo but has a high ceiling on good a day.
I have been watching Crisp and have been flying under the radar with Howe out deterred me of picking him not sure of what he's role will be and that goes with Maynard.
I was gonna start with Caleb Daniel this season, with the lack of rookies at backline, I was forced to spend the cash elsewhere.

I have two more spot in my backline looking to get either Daniels, Hurn, Haynes and maybe Crisp.

      Derek · 01/07/2020 at 23:21

      Sicily.

He scored nearly 100 in the second half alone last week

He’s not far from putting two good halves together.

First 2 rounds his disposal let him down. He still got plenty of it. 126 & 114 last two weeks is what he will score more times than not.

I traded him out before round 2 for Howe, more than happy to trade him back in for Howe this week

Has GWS this week who always give up big scores to defenders, especially intercept markers like Sicily

Ando · 01/07/2020 at 22:15

Hey Community! I'm ranked 964th. If I want a chance of winning this thing, I need to trade Fyfe don't I?

Fyfe to Bont, Danger, Gaff, Duncan, or Parker?

Midfield currently is: Neale, Cripps, Macrae, Titch, Rowell, McInerney, Green, (Brown, Budarick, and Pickett).

    Russty_ · 01/07/2020 at 22:50

Pretty sure the highest scoring team of last week had a fwd line donut Ando so in answer to your question, maybe you don't need to trade Fyfe, could only be a week, he's tough as nails.

      Ando · 02/07/2020 at 11:06

Wow. That's true. I got burnt last year for trading Fyfe, only missed one game then smashed it the rest of the season.

    Noirlust · 01/07/2020 at 23:59

Trades should be in surplus this year, unless you burnt 5 in round 2

      Jess · 02/07/2020 at 14:00

Definitely trade fyfe if going for overall.

Trade and give it your best shot

Pman · 01/07/2020 at 22:24

I'm playing for leagues only and have Fyfe and will be trading him, with the shortened season and plenty of trades there is no reason not too and you may be able to get him later in the season at a cheaper price.

    Pman · 01/07/2020 at 22:31

Out of the 4 options I'd toss a coin over Danger (who I have) and Parker (who I am strongly considering for POD/points)

      Derek · 01/07/2020 at 23:40

If going for leagues. Look at building team value.

      Come finals, a $12.5m team can’t compete against a $13.5m team

Look for low BE – McCluggage, Chad, Witts, Pittiinet, English, Ridley etc

      Sell height, buy low.

    The Jinx · 02/07/2020 at 11:15

Just wanna point out in Round 2 I got eliminated as the lowest scorer of 2040 for the round in Division 1. I think I just scraped that Round, someone else had 2006 points.

But it's all good, maybe next year. What's done is done.

    Cheers
    The Jinx

    Holty01 · 02/07/2020 at 12:05

    Great work again Derek

FearTheBeard · 02/07/2020 at 11:12

Guys who's the best premium for this week? Titch ? Bont? Simpkin? Can't decide?

    Jess · 02/07/2020 at 13:58

Titch would have to go pretty bad with the deboar tag.

Im going danger and simpkin this week, but thats because i got bont last week. Bont probobly best off all 3

Ando · 02/07/2020 at 11:37

Howe to Daniel or Haynes and why?

Holty01 · 02/07/2020 at 12:03

Nice Pod lads

Rooboy · 02/07/2020 at 13:55

Nice Pod guys but no mention of Hayden Young?
Do you think he's going to make enough coin from here or more of a flash in the pan type score?
He showed some good signs v GC and has a lovely kick on him.

Jess · 02/07/2020 at 14:34

Playing for overall.

Out fyfe and viney
In danger and simpkin

Not absolutely loving the trades but leaves me with 125 odd for further upgrades next week (aka doedee/taylor)

My obvious gamble is trying to pick up those who are cheapest with the best scoring potential in their positions

Dave · 03/07/2020 at 01:26

Sicily or hurn cannot decide
