Supercoach Trade Winds

Published by Barron Von Crow on

Greetings everyone, it’s an exciting day for us all because football is back! It may not be exactly how we want it, but sometimes in life you gotta make some compromises! The obvious new wrinkle in Supercoach this year is the 5 trades we can use to fix up our sides given the huge delay between games. This is not something we’d usually get, so it is a big opportunity to perhaps correct some early errors, pick up some rookies you missed first go around and ditch some duds. First, we’ll look at who has the biggest break evens after round 1, then the lower BE players to look at, followed by what the rest of the Supercoach world is doing trade wise. So, let’s get cracking.

Manute Bol Break Evens

Josh Dunkley 174

Max Gawn 172

Matthew Kreuzer 169

Dayne Zorko 168

Jack Ziebell 168

Elliot Yeo 165

Marcus Bontempelli 161

Nic Newman 160

Jarrod Witts 156

Patrick Dangerfield 155

Josh Dunkley is #1, hitting the full 7’7 on the Manute Bol breakeven chart after his score of 67 SCPoints against Collingwood. Interestingly he has not been impacted as much as teammate Marcus Bontempelli on the trade front, with just 1.4% of Dunkley owners moving him on, compared to 3.5% for Bontempelli. That very well may have to do with the Bulldogs upcoming opponents of St Kilda and GWS, for which Bontempelli has an average of 86 SCPoints in his last 3 matchups against the Saints and 98 SCPoints against GWS. Dunkley on the other hand has a 3-round average of 129.5 SCPoints against the Saints and 111 SCPoints against the Giants.

Max Gawn comes in 2nd at 172, however he will be facing a Kreuzer-less Carlton and JREL Superstar Tom Bellchambers in his next 2, with averages of 116 SCPoints against Carlton and 147 SCPoints against Essendon in his 3-round average. He’ll drop some cash to the mid $600K range most likely, but as a potential C option he’s worth persisting with. Patrick Dangerfield has a BE of 155, however that hasn’t impacted him in the slightest, with his ownership change actually rising by 0.3% from Round 1, with a few hundred owners upgrading the likes of Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, Dylan Roberton and Fisher McAsey to Dangerfield.

Muggsy Bogues Break Evens

Sam Sturt -53

Marlion Pickett -47

Justin McInerney -34

Curtin Taylor -32

Mitchell Georgiades -28

Sam Naismith -25

Jack Viney -19

Tyler Brown -17

Jacob Townsend -14

Ben Long -10

Sam Sturt is the obvious candidate for a rookie trade in after his 100SCPoint score against the Bombers in Round 1. He was in 17.2% of teams for Round 1, with that ownership now rising to 28.5% currently. He did suffer a back injury during the quarantine period, but has played in Freo’s intra-club matches, so hopefully he gets up for Round 2. Marlion Pickett should have been in your side from day 1 (he’s in 77.8% of all teams currently), Justin McInerney should provide some value as midfield cover. He scored 81 SCPoints against the Crows, the Swans dominated the midfield in Round 1, so a repeat effort isn’t likely to that level, but he shouldn’t bomb out completely either. Mitchell Georgiades and Sam Naismith both have injury clouds currently, but Naismith does have a lot of admirers after his score of 121 SCPoints against the Crows.

Jack Viney blasted Round 1 with a score of 186 SCPoints, which has blown his BE out to -19. He’s projected to rise to about the $540K range over the next 3 weeks, the issue with trading him in his next 4 opponents, Carlton, Essendon, Geelong and Sydney of which he has career high scores of 117, 98, 109 and 113 against. Those scores are certainly nothing to scoff at, but it highlights the risk of perhaps trading a known premium like Bontempelli or Dunkley down to Viney. The most popular trades for Viney currently are Dylan Roberton, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and Fischer McAsey, all 3 moves perfect acceptable in my opinion.

Trade Bolters

Sam Sturt +11.6%

Jeremy Howe +9.6%

Jack Viney +8.3%

Harley Bennell +5.4%

John Noble +5%

Justin McInerney +4%

Isaac Heeney +3.7%

Sam Jacobs +3.5%

Sam Naismith +2.7%

Chad Wingard +2.4%

Jeremy Howe is one of the bigger trade bolters early on after his score of 156 SCPoints against the Bulldogs. He’ll have a tough matchup against Richmond coming up, but has a 3-round average of 116 SCPoints against them, which you’d still take any day of the week. He’s mostly being traded in for Dylan Roberton, cannot argue with that move at all if you are considering it. Another popular trade in is his Magpie teammate John Noble. He scored just 74 SCPoints against the Bulldogs, but his price of $215,400 makes him a terrific downgrade option that should be upgraded to a premo quite easily later in the year.

Harley Bennell is a great story and is finally making his return to AFL football, and is a nice downgrade option to consider at $123,900. The risks are obvious with him, he’s super talented, but hasn’t played AFL level football in a very long time, so it may take him time to get up to speed. At worst you can watch him for the first two weeks and see how he goes before his first price rise. Isaac Heeney had a huge game against the Crows with a score of 152 SCPoints. He has an up and down record against his next 3 opponents of Essendon, North and the Western Bulldogs, but the talent he has is undeniable and will likely continue to be the focus point up forward for the Swans while Lance Franklin is injured. Sam Jacobs is the obvious Sam Naismith trade down replacement option now, though his 3-round averages against his upcoming opponents don’t wow the eye with 107.5 SCPoints vs North, 78.6 SCPoints against the Bulldogs and 63 SCPoints against the Pies. His midfield partners at GWS are performing at a much higher level than Jacobs Crows partners over 2018/2019, so hopefully the hitouts to advantage will be more plentiful this time around.

Trade Sliders

Dylan Roberton -6.1%

Ben Cavarra -4.5%

Tom Green -4.1%

Andrew Brayshaw -3.7%

Marcus Bontempelli 3-5%

Brandon Zerk-Thatcher -2.8%

Darcy MacPherson -2.6%

Fischer McAsey -2.6%

Jack Steven -1.9%

Tim English -1.8%

Ben Cavarra is owned by 24% of all teams, but disappointed most with a score of 32 SCPoints. Tom Green certainly wasn’t the worst with his score of 55 SCPoints, the issue is the delay in games has allowed the likes of Callum Ward to return to health, so he may lose his spot in the short-term. Andrew Brayshaw was a mid-price speculation that didn’t pan out in Round 1 with a score of 66 SCPoints. His issue was that he only played 63 minutes of game-time, which produced a Points Per Minute average of 1.0 PPM. To give some perspective to that, the likes of Dustin Martin, Michael Walters and Christian Petracca who toned up had PPM scores of 1.3 while playing between 80 to 97 minutes on field. So, you can see there’s a bit of work there for Brayshaw to do.

Most Popular Trades

Ben Cavarra to Sam Sturt

Dylan Roberton to Jeremy Howe

Dylan Roberton to Jack Viney

Brandon Zerk-Thatcher to Jack Viney

Marcus Bontempelli to Jeremy Howe

Andrew Brayshaw to Sam Sturt

Brandon Zerk-Thatcher to Jeremy Howe

Tom Green to Harley Bennell

Ben Cavarra to Trent Rivers

Dylan Roberton to John Noble

And that’ll be it for me here this week. Given the lack of state-league matches Around the Grounds may not be back this year, we will have to wait and see how much coverage we get from the scratch matches the clubs organize themselves. But as always, whack your comments down below and you can always give us a shout on the Twitter machine @BarronVonCrow. Good luck to you all on the rest of your 2020 Supercoach season!

Starting to question whether I want to make as many trades as I thought.
Maybe just correct Brayshaw and upgrade BZT. Possibly Green out for a different rookie if not named.
Obviously we can use all five and then two per round right into finals no worries. Just don't want to trade out a premo after one bad game simply because I "can"

    Steeeve · 11/06/2020 at 17:05

Update: have used them all but kept all my premos. Bit the bullet and dropped Dylan Roberton and Andrew Brayshaw. Brought in Howe and Bewley. Only other changes were rookie corrections. Have to hope McHenry, Rivers and Bennell can string some games together.

      mick · 12/06/2020 at 22:05

good stuff steeeeevee. Only numpty's trade premos out after 1 game

Mikee · 11/06/2020 at 16:26

Glad to see you back! <img src="https://tinyurl.com/yxbbsslm" width="1"/> <img src="https://tinyurl.com/wwct4y8" width="1"/>

Shake n bake · 11/06/2020 at 16:30

It’s back! Footys back! Cant believe l cant go tonight, but I’d still take a win! Vc Grundy who are teams putting the C on if he performs below par? P.s good luck to all teams remember it’s a way shorter season so get those early wins!! No playing catch up this year!!

    The Ranger · 11/06/2020 at 18:16

Think I'm playing you twice this week Shake!
    Best of luck mate.

      Shake n bake · 11/06/2020 at 18:30

Going to be a a lot of good match ups Ranger!!

Dyno Mite · 11/06/2020 at 17:14

i won't be corrective sideways trading after only one performance. I will however be trying to fit in some of the players unavailable in rd 1 that are now supercoach relevant

showstealer1829 · 11/06/2020 at 17:39

I think I'm just going to sit. The only one I'm really thinking about moving on is Brayshaw and I don't like the sideways options really.

EDIT: I already have Wingard in case anyone suggest him.

    The Ranger · 11/06/2020 at 18:09

I ditched Brayshaw for Rozee. it was always a flip of a coin between them for me and Rozee's 125 means his price is going north.

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 11/06/2020 at 17:42

11th of June.
Footy is back
Lets GO!!

BZT is out some COVID thingy.

    Rooter · 11/06/2020 at 18:13

He had a root during isolating

The Ranger · 11/06/2020 at 18:01

Woohoo! C'aarn the Pies!
Good to be back SCing again, best of luck to all for the this weekend.

The Ranger · 11/06/2020 at 18:33

Bugger. Roberton is out. Back to the drawing board…

serious question · 11/06/2020 at 18:50

sorry fellas need a reminder, to be cut from the sunday team do you have to be named on the extended bench? i.e Issac Cumming named on field means he is playing

    Shake n bake · 11/06/2020 at 19:01

    Yes

    DavidC · 12/06/2020 at 07:30

Any one can be cut. Just because someone is named on field does not guarantee that he is playing.

      Shake n bake · 12/06/2020 at 08:32

      Only extended bench

Shake n bake · 11/06/2020 at 19:02

Bedford Sturt and and l think cavarra won’t make the final cut. Already one short up fwd

    TRIGGA_HAPPY · 11/06/2020 at 19:09

nah 6 and a spare on the bench

cavarra can be the loop – 🙂

    Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 19:15

Can't be short this week Shake, ya gotta do something mate.

      Shake n bake · 11/06/2020 at 19:42

I’ll make a trade. If cavarra doesn’t get up I’ll trade Bradford or him

Defying_Madness · 11/06/2020 at 19:07

Finally footy is back. Really pumped for the games this weekend

Looking for some advice on whether the following trades are good
Brayshaw to Stuart or another rookie (maybe Bennell)
Robertson to Howe

Cheers community

    Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 19:17

Hi DM…Sturt injured this week so you could afford to wait, Roberton to Howe absolutely I say.

    TOPHAWK1 · 11/06/2020 at 19:17

Sturt is not playing. (Calf injury) You have Curtis Taylor? If not, he would be a great rookie selection. Roberton to Howe if you have the cash is a nice trade. I am trading out Roberton to Doedee. Straight switch. Good luck mate! The footy is back!

    hedski · 11/06/2020 at 19:18

    Sturt not playing DM

    Defying_Madness · 11/06/2020 at 19:20

    Cheers for the responses
Don't have the cash to go Robertson to Howe without moving on Brayshaw to someone. I do have C Taylor
Another option is giving Brayshaw some time and just moving on Robertson to someone similarly priced like a Doedee
Edit turns out I am just short on Robertson to Doedee

      Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 19:24

      Brayshaw to Long DM?

Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 19:18

Hey Lads, I have Isaac Cumming and was gonna dump him for Doedee, would it be better to just see how it plays out this week first?

P.S Where's the panic room cause I'm panicking! 🙂

    TRIGGA_HAPPY · 11/06/2020 at 19:21

mate if they are playing let them play

doodee wont change till next week anyway…

      Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 19:23

Cheers bud, wise words, it'll be good to have a gander first I guess.

    TommyC99 · 11/06/2020 at 19:26

Im bringing Doedee in for Dyl Robbo Russty.

      Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 19:39

Good call Tommy, I thought Cumming would be omitted with Williams coming back in but he's named on field so I'll have another look, maybe he even tons up?..I still want Doedee though.

    mick · 11/06/2020 at 21:00

Same boat as me on that one mate. He'd been in the gun for 5 weeks but suddenly got a reprieve. I hope he plays a high scoring role and not a lockdown

TommyC99 · 11/06/2020 at 19:18

So absolute carnage on the rookie front for me. D Robbo x 2, Cavarra, Davis, BZT all out, with Green and J Mac also in trouble. Feel like we may have to go early on rookies in the fwd/def lines this week to avoud donuts. Thoughts on T Brown? not entirely sold on his JS with stevo and treloar to come in

    Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 19:20

I'd get Brown in Tommy, maybe take the punt on Bennell too.

      TommyC99 · 11/06/2020 at 19:22

      Brown for dev robbo russty?

        Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 19:26

Why not mate…Robbo omitted so that's not good.

    Shake n bake · 11/06/2020 at 20:08

    McHenry

Ando · 11/06/2020 at 19:28

Hey Community, how do you use the emergency loophole on subs? Any help is appreciated.

    Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 19:32

Someone who's playing tonight Ando…leave em on the bench with the E on em.
You need a non player on that line to be able to use their score though, if they score well, bring the non player on to replace an onfield player.
If their score is shite, just leave them as the E and have 6 playing players on field.

      Ando · 11/06/2020 at 19:36

      Thanks Russty! Appreciate it!

        Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 20:20

Happy to help mate, hope you understood my gibberish

hedski · 11/06/2020 at 19:32

Hello all, how fkn good is it footys back in 10 minutes!
I'm going all out 5 trades, Sturt not getting a run has thrown a spanner but who cares anything goes.
OUT- Bedford
Cavarra
Green
B-Zerk
Dunkley

IN- M.King (would have been Sturt)
Rivers
Long
Viney
Howe

Traded Long out for Bedford to have a war chest 5 minutes before the bounce in round 1, that hurt.
B-Zerk to Howe is a no brainer.
Dunks to Viney is pure cash gen and hope to swap back or to similar in a few weeks.
Rivers opens a swing with Starcevich and NDD loves him.
King will at least play and one of him, Davis or Buderik will go to Sturt when he plays.
Team is.
Laird, Sicily, Doc, (Rivers)
Howe, Noble, Brander, (Williams)

Danger, Neale, Cripps, (Brown)
Cogs, Viney, Pickett, (Starc)
Rowell, McInerney, (Robertson)

Grawndy, (Comben)

Wit, Dusty,Devon, (King)
Long, Taylor, Davis, (Buderik)

BRING IT ON!
Good luck all 👍🍻

    Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 19:35

Hiya Hed, bummer bout Long mate but at least you got him back…good luck 🙂

      hedski · 11/06/2020 at 19:39

Yeah I remember chatting about it to you at the time Russty.
Good luck to you, charge into the top 10 this week mate!!!

        Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 20:19

I went a bit conservative with my trades this week mate so not expecting much scorewise, I might lose most of my match ups, anyways it's about the long game.

    hedski · 11/06/2020 at 20:48

    Conroy at R3 not Comben

Ando · 11/06/2020 at 19:40

Trade Bont or hold?

If trade, who would you trade to from the following? Titch, Danger, Duncan, Boak, Gaff, or Coniglio.

    hedski · 11/06/2020 at 20:13

    Danger, Cogs or Titch.

      Ando · 11/06/2020 at 20:24

Cheers Hedski. If you had to select one of those?

        Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 20:37

Not that you asked me Ando but I'd be all over Titch if you do have to trade Bont, I'm keeping Bont cause he averaged 114 last year, I have Titch also though.

          Ando · 11/06/2020 at 20:59

Thanks Russty. Would you advise against trading Bont? Not concerned that he could be tagged in the next 3 games?

            Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 21:10

Not at all Ando because I mostly play for Leagues, and not rank… he could cop tags yes and deliver a few lower scores but he's beaten plenty of tags before, also it's the whole season that matters to me, I'd advise not trading him out but do what you feel is right mate.

        hedski · 11/06/2020 at 20:49

        Danger because he's Danger.

          Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 21:18

Your Dog is dangerous, especially when you let it drive down to the Bottle-o to get more beers.

Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 19:55

Who needs a crowd when you've got fake crowd noise?…hahaha I don't mind it, it already feels more normal than that first round.

    Lekdog · 12/06/2020 at 16:15

I didn't mind when I was looking at my phone, but when I'm actually watching it I don't love it

BJSO · 11/06/2020 at 20:01

Eagles Tom Hickey out for Oscar Allen

    Derek · 12/06/2020 at 00:30

    Good for NicNat owners

Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 20:36

Guess I could always go Noble to doedee?…LOL

    TOPHAWK1 · 11/06/2020 at 20:47

Roberton to Doedee this week. I will deal with Noble next week. Hehehe

      Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 20:52

I whacked the E on him but now have to hope Cumming Brander and Rivers do better.

    mick · 11/06/2020 at 20:55

Yeah rnd1 Noble got heaps of ball and magden got nothing rnd 2 vice versa happened in preseason games as well I think

Maverick_ · 11/06/2020 at 20:43

BZT to noble.. hmmmmmm

I'm sure I'm not alone

hedski · 11/06/2020 at 20:50

Can anyone get scores?
Nothing showing up on the app and I can't get on to fanfooty.
Scratch that just got on to FF 👍

mick · 11/06/2020 at 21:25

I love this new crowd involvement initiative.
Some kid in the 1st row marks a point so they let him have a shot at goal . That's brilliant stuff well done Gil

    Russty_ · 11/06/2020 at 21:42

Those cardboard cutouts got so excited at that Degoey almost a goal I swear I saw one of them sweating.
    Very average score from Pickett

      JesterJess · 12/06/2020 at 13:12

Hehe. And not to mention the 90,000 cardboard cutouts furious that they couldn't get into the MCG because the match was all cutout. . At least it wasn't 90,000 angry sex dolls

    Lekdog · 12/06/2020 at 16:15

    Hahaha

Holty01 · 11/06/2020 at 22:00

Refused to select Howe. Thought I was chasing points. Oops. Hopefully the Hurn pick will make up for it.

    Derek · 12/06/2020 at 00:28

Howe was 39 at half time, you would have been feeling ok then

TBone23 · 11/06/2020 at 22:00

Gday boys, ripper of a game first up. Think a draw is a fair result. Good to be back, but a few issues for the SuperCoach team this week. Happy I backed Crisp instead of sidestepping to Howe, don’t think it’s worth a trade they will even out over the year. Anyone else in strife this week with their rookies?

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 11/06/2020 at 22:27

Trade 1 tick. Bzt to Howe.

The Jinx · 11/06/2020 at 22:31

Well! After how many times I pressed that reverse button.

Ended up with these trades
Bzerk, Gresham, Brayshaw and Conroy
Ins
Howe, Noble, Ceglar and Cameron

Naismith my R2 who's not playing. I was forced to shuffle my FWD and R3 by getting Ceglar and Cameron to avoid a donut and in next couple of games if Naismith don't play.

Brought Howe and Noble in to strengthen my backline and not have to worry about rookies much.

Back
Laird, Sicily, Houston
Doc, Howe, Stacevic
Noble, Williams

Mid
Neale, Fyfe, Cripps, Titch
Bont, Pickett, Brown, Green
Rivers, McInerney, Budarick

Grundy, Naismith, Cameron

FWD
Whitfield, Ceglar, Smith
Schultz, Brander, Taylor
Davis, King

I avoided trading out any Premos this week. Kinda Sideway with mid-price player, which I think it was necessary in my case. Will see how it pans out in few weeks or so.

Good luck all, I'm just glad footy and SC is back.

The Jinx

TBone_23 · 11/06/2020 at 22:40

Gday boys, guess my old account isn’t working on here so I guess this is the new one! Any suggestions for a bloke who has Naismith R2 with 3 trades left this week and 80k itb? Cheers!

    Derek · 12/06/2020 at 00:24

Can you find another $17k to get Jacobs?

    Lekdog · 12/06/2020 at 16:16

    Pittonet?

Ando · 11/06/2020 at 23:56

Play Starcevich on field or trade BZT to Rivers and play him on field?

    Derek · 12/06/2020 at 00:20

Just loop Starcevich first. Lions play early Saturday. Have him on bench with E, if he does well hold, if he does unwell, trade BZT to Rivers

      Ando · 12/06/2020 at 14:08

      Thanks Derek, very helpful.

      Lekdog · 12/06/2020 at 16:16

      I'm stealing this

Derek · 12/06/2020 at 00:16

Pickett, Noble and Brown gave us a reminder of what it is like to have rookies in our field.

37, 41 and 43 is what we should expect. And these fellas were some of the better ones.

57, 63 and 72 percent TOG is part of the reason and the other part is it’s the role of the guns to get the ball, not the rookies, step aside boys.

Same thing has happened in other years, especially during bye rounds, but this tear is going to be much worse.

I’m loosing sleep looking at my forward line of Taylor, King, Budarick, Cavarra and Georgie. 3 to be on field, yikiees.

Not to mention one of Brander, Rivers or Starcevich on field in defence.

Making cash is nice, but scoring points is better.

Decided to trade Whitfield and Cavarra/Georgie to Wingard and Pettracca. (Have cash after trading Sicily to Howe and Green to Brown).

This gets a rookie off the field

Last trade Roberton to Birchall a week early to avoid another rookie on field.

    Derek · 12/06/2020 at 09:04

Maybe Doedee better bet than Birchall for D6

    TOPHAWK1 · 12/06/2020 at 10:04

Pickett was on my bench with the E and purely for emergency loopholing purposes. He can get stuffed. Not taking that 37. One headache removed. I dont have Tyler Brown. Poor job security with Treloar in the wings. Noble is my only onfield score and he was solid with his 15 pozzies. His DE was poor which kept his score down. He will score better most weeks IMO. Is something up with Whitfield? A major role change? I just cant bear trading out an uber premo like that even if he bleeds a bit of cash after round 1. Cheers Derek. TH

      TRIGGA_HAPPY · 12/06/2020 at 12:11

      Always the way hawk.

I had the E on Pickett rd 1 and had green on deck. We all know what happened .

Rd 2 Pickett on deck based on rd 1 score.

Yep that fwd line would keep me up at nights

You need to do something but is Whitfield your only choice?

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT

Be careful with trades.

They are NOT REVERSABLE

There is always someone forgets

    DavidC · 12/06/2020 at 07:34

You can actually reverse a trade if you haven't used all of the 5 trades. Just do the reverse trade and you get your trade back.

      Lekdog · 12/06/2020 at 16:17

      Too scared to try haha

        Derek · 12/06/2020 at 17:31

I think DavidC has a sense of humour

        Don’t anyone try it

        DavidC · 13/06/2020 at 04:48

I tested it before my update to confirm it still works. Originally traded Xerri to Jacobs, so traded Jacobs back to Xerri and it gave me my trade back. It does work but obviously it is scary the first time you do it. Good luck all.

poloko48 · 12/06/2020 at 07:35

In a normal season I wouldn't consider this but am thinking of trading Bont to Danger – am I risking the wrath of the gods? Looking at outright rather than leagues which may make a difference. Also looking at Roberton – Doedee sideways. Think I might hold off on new rookies this week to see how they go, have Mcasey, Starcevich, who won't lose much $$ if I keep them for another week.

Current team (still have 4 trades to use), any feedback welcome, have $94K in bank:

DEF: Doch, Howe, Short, Roberton, Starcevich, Williams, Noble, Mcasey
MID: Macrae, Neale, Fyfe, Kelly, Cripps, Bont, Rowell, Pickett, Green, TBrown, Robertson
RUC: Grundy, Gawn, Xerri
FWD: Dusty, Smith, Brander, Sturt, Taylor, Budarick, Cameron, Cavarra

Shake n bake · 12/06/2020 at 09:24

Who to capt? Do l go Danger tonight 🤔?

    TOPHAWK1 · 12/06/2020 at 09:56

I am taking Grundy's 230 as VC shake. Normally I would pass up a 115 VC score, but with such a long lay off for all players, I reckon picking a good premo C is a bit of a lottery until we get a decent form guide after a few rounds. 230 SC is solid and its in the bank. Danger should crunch out a 130-140 tonight, but he might be a bit rusty and sloppy. Look at Dusty last night. Did not even crack 80 points. Its also a nice feeling to bank the 230 SC points after not starting with Grundy in round one and putting the C on Bontempelli who produced 76 SC. Just something to consider. Good luck in whatever you chose to do Shake. Cheers. TH

      Shake n bake · 12/06/2020 at 10:12

I got stuck with Fyfes 110 In the 1st rd. We’re as 90% of teams went with Grundy. Decisions

Westy · 12/06/2020 at 09:42

I had to make my trades prior to final teams as I was going to be out. (Good luck me making trades while out with my wife and two of our oldest friends for her birthday.) As a result, I traded out Green potentially unnecessarily, but still have Roberton and Robertson in my squad.

It's lucky I love my wife, I tell ya!

Corey · 12/06/2020 at 10:03

BZT to Rivers?
A.Brayshaw to Petracca?

Joe_T · 12/06/2020 at 11:29

Thoughts on trading English to Jacobs? Started the season with English as a potential R2 with the injury cloud over Gawn, but the time off would benefit Maxi so I just need to make cash to get to him eventually.

JDP · 12/06/2020 at 12:08

Would love some advice community:
I got sucked in to MacPherson pre season numbers 🤯
Looking at trading him to his teammate Greenwood – named in the middle or Wingard – named on the ball and both look to be gaining more mid time this season.

Appreciate any thoughts

    Joe_T · 12/06/2020 at 12:23

could really go either way tbh, all 3 of them should score similarly I feel. If I had to pick I'd go with Greenwood because I think he's been more consistent and should hold a spot in the mids longer than Wingard.

      Lekdog · 12/06/2020 at 16:18

Agree with Joe, think I was wrong on Greenwood

SunburyShane · 12/06/2020 at 13:06

Legends – who would you trade for Docherty? Brodie Smith or Andy Brayshaw (Brander DPP)

    SunburyShane · 12/06/2020 at 13:12

Actually to make it more clear:

    1 – Neale & Brayshaw
    2 – Danger & B.Smith

    Cheers

      Lekdog · 12/06/2020 at 16:19

      Why are you trading Doch?

        Corey · 12/06/2020 at 16:49

I think he’s trading in Docherty and getting rid of Brodie Smith

Ando · 12/06/2020 at 14:57

I've decided to trade out Bont. Not liking that he could possibly be tagged 3 games in a row.

Danger or Titch and why?

    Joe_T · 12/06/2020 at 15:43

Danger – favourable draw with plenty of games being at GMHBA and he hasn't been out of the game for a season unlike Titch. Even if Titch has a better season than Danger you wouldn't expect it to be better by much.

      Ando · 12/06/2020 at 17:01

      Cheers Joe

G.C. · 12/06/2020 at 15:16

After making some adjustments around the edges with my other 4 trades, I've got 1 trade left and enough money to upgrade Bont to Neale. Doing that trade would leave my mid premos as:
Neale, Titch, Macrae, Cripps, Oliver
with $12.4k left over.

I know rule of thumb is don't touch your premos, but gee it's mighty tempting. Thoughts community?

    Lekdog · 12/06/2020 at 16:19

Neale is better than Bont for SC so I like it

Waldo · 12/06/2020 at 16:27

Thoughts on theses moves?

Brayshaw, Roberton, Zerk, Cavarra to Bewley, Doedee, Rivers and Long

    Ando · 12/06/2020 at 17:12

    I like it

      Waldo · 12/06/2020 at 17:30

      Cheers Ando.

Corza · 12/06/2020 at 16:53

I’m looking at trading Brayshaw but idk who to maybe Pertracca or Greenwood thoughts? Don’t have the cash to go up to a premium unless I trade Green to Bennell then I could get Heeney?

Josh · 12/06/2020 at 17:53

Are any of these boys worth holding or should we look to move them on??

Roberton, BZT, Tom Green, Cavarra, Sturt

Thoughts on Long, Doedee, or Birch in for Roberton?

    redherringfc · 12/06/2020 at 18:35

I’m holding BZT, because he is only suspended for 1 week and hopefully back next week. I ditched Cavarra for Bennell, didn’t have Sturt. I would trade Green, if there was someone worth getting (for me).

Who are you trading to? If you trade in and put the new player on the bench, then probably not worth it.

I’ve done 2 trades, so 28 trades left for 15 rounds. My plan is 4 trades over the next 3 weeks (or something similar) and then 2 a week for the rest of the season.

      Josh · 12/06/2020 at 18:56

I’d probably be looking at any of Bennell, Rivers or McHenry in for some of the cheaper rookies (green, cavarra)
And then maybe someone more pricey for Robertson e.g doedee, Birchall, Ben long or bewley

Thoughts on who to bring in out of them?

        redherringfc · 13/06/2020 at 11:30

I picked up Bennell and Rivers for Cavarra and some nobody I can’t even remember. Bennell at 123k has a similar risk to any rookie, but the potential upside is huge.

Holty01 · 12/06/2020 at 17:55

Well I guess you have to risk it for the 🍪 I’m letting Viney go, let Howe go, letting Bewley and all the other cash generators to pass me by. Hopefully I’m doing the right thing.

    Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 19:00

Time will tell mate, it's a crapshoot this year…I just thought stuff it just then and did 2 more trades haha

hedski · 12/06/2020 at 18:05

Not taking Grundys vc score, it's outta Danger,Gawn and Neale for the captain's armband.
Heart says Danger, head says Neale and guts says Gawn…….

    Ando · 12/06/2020 at 18:15

I'm going with Neale but if I had Gawn I'd go with him.

      Waldo · 12/06/2020 at 18:30

Yeah, I'm going Gawn over Neale.

    Shake n bake · 12/06/2020 at 18:46

Danger Hedski 250th hey! What do u reckon?

      hedski · 12/06/2020 at 19:47

How are ya Shake? Yeah thought the game started at 7.40, now I'm freakin about if I should change back to Max.
Danger looks primed on the field tho, I'm sticking with him.
Slightly under whelming game last night mate, thought your guys should have won.

        Shake n bake · 13/06/2020 at 09:43

After half time tigers backs played a higher line. Broad astbury grimes houli. Invited to much pressure probably lucky to hold on. Ball just kept getting rebounded. Cats were great after half time. I went with Danger as capt Hedski. When Sheil went to him was going to be a tough night. Came good aswell after the half. Good luck for the rest of the weekend.

    Pman · 12/06/2020 at 18:47

Am in the same boat but leaning towards Neale as Freo have no taggers of note so reckon he might go BIG!

    Andrew · 12/06/2020 at 18:56

    Danger

    TOPHAWK1 · 12/06/2020 at 18:59

Gawn will eat Pittonet for breakfast.

      great judge TH

    The Jinx · 12/06/2020 at 19:00

Same rolling the dice on (Gut) says Titch or (Head) says Neale. Leaning towards my gut wish me luck

    The Jinx

    Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 19:25

Good luck Hed, reckon I'm going with Titch and hope he has a biggy, my score ain't looking too flash this week so not much to lose.

    demonsdelights · 13/06/2020 at 12:27

Gawn will be super angry and Mark Jackson wont get much of a ruck go NDD

Dash · 12/06/2020 at 18:44

Laird, Sicily, Docherty, Noble, Brander, Stracevic (Gould, BZK)
Danger, Macrae, Fyfe, Cripps, Coniglio, Rowell, Pickett, McInerney (T Green, T Brown, Budarick)
Gawn, Grundy (Combden)
Whitfield, Dusty, D Smith, C Taylor, B King, T Bedford (Cavarra, Georgiades)

Already traded Roberton to Noble. Still have 4 trades. There's a lot not playing
Thinking maybe get rid of Bedford and T Green for.
Best options?

    Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 19:30

    Bennell and Rivers?

      Dash · 12/06/2020 at 19:37

Thanks do you think T Green and Bedford main ones? What do you think about Bewley? I have enough.

        Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 19:44

Bedford or Cavarra Dash either could go….Bewley looks all right as long as he keeps his wing role…and yeah Green, the money could be used elsewhere and Giants' midfield is hard to break into for a new guy.

          hedski · 12/06/2020 at 19:48

Does Bedford get back in now Kozzy and Spargo are covid stricken?

            Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 19:51

Oh hadn't heard about that Hed..oh I just saw, two more rule breachers.

Pman · 12/06/2020 at 18:47

Hold Brayshaw or use my final trade to change him too Heeney, Sympkin, Wingard, Greenwood or Long? I am somewhat leaning towards Greenwood but Sympkin or Long leaves me a good chunk of cash for next weeks trades but to be honest I don't know a lot about either player and how consistent we can expect them to be. Any thoughts on the above listed or any other viable options would be appreciated, currently have $534K to spend. Cheers..

    Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 18:57

Heeney's probs your most reliable option there Pman…consistently averages 95 or so, hopefully more this year.

      Pman · 12/06/2020 at 19:02

I've had Heeney the last 2 years and he's been a bit up and down and at times injury prone, that said he was pretty awesome Rd 1. I guess it's better than a sideways trade and you would expect he'll finish in the top 8 Forwards for the year…you've almost sold me on him!

        Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 19:14

I like Long also though, might get both myself 🙂 I've a feeling Heeney might get a bit better this year.

          Pman · 12/06/2020 at 19:30

Trading in Long gives me $251K for next week whereas Heeney (should be Premo and a Keeper) gives me only $24K for next week. Only have the 1 trade left so what do you feel is better option? Both will make decent cash in first few weeks but can Long be consistent? Any love for Greenwood?

            mick · 12/06/2020 at 19:46

I'd take Heeney or Greenwood before Long. Long had too few stats for his score to suggest that he'll do it every week. 7 kicks and no goals for 110+ is very rare

            Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 19:46

Greenwood's ok, strikes me as the 80 to 85 type though, Long is an unknown quantity at half back, could be good or very not so good, Heeney is the safest bet mate.

Andrew · 12/06/2020 at 18:51

Help, Williams, Burgoyne, Sicily or Haynes?

    Pman · 12/06/2020 at 19:03

Sicily….I have him in my team. Burgoyne is too old, Williams coming back from injury and don't know much about Haynes.

    Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 19:23

For me Williams if 100% fit..Sicily my 2nd choice, and pass on the other 2.

TelescopicCox · 12/06/2020 at 19:06

Full panic mode ATM:

A) L.Ryan/BZT/MacPherson/Green to Rivers/Doedee/Bewley/Neale
B) L.Ryan/BZT/MacPherson/Cavarra to Rivers/Doedee/Bewley/Danger
C) BZT/MacPherson/Green/Cavarra to Rivers/Ceglar/Bennell/Bewley
D) BZT/Green/Cavarra/MacPherson to Rivers/Viney/BennellBewley

McAsey the other on the block but since he's playing, I'll give him a week.

Leaning to option A and leaning all in on the mid price madness

    Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 19:16

A or B for me TC…I'd like to see Long there instead of Bewley though.

      TelescopicCox · 12/06/2020 at 19:18

Cheers Russty. I'm more sold on Bewley over Long. Just a gut feel. Thinking I might go B and ride Danger's run at Alphabet Stadium

        Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 19:22

Fair enough mate, good luck that's 4 good replacements there.

TommyC99 · 12/06/2020 at 19:29

So like most people, got some dilemmas in theform of rookies, with the likes of BZT, Gould, Green, Cavarra and Davis all not playing.
If I don’t make any trades, I’d have to play starcevich in def, J Mac/Take Browns score in the guts and play Max King In fwd (gulp).
Would you guys go early on any rookies to cover these gaps? Best in mind I’ve only made 2 trades so far this week. Both being correctional ones.
Help would be great!!

    Pman · 12/06/2020 at 19:37

Bennell may be worth rolling the dice, proven star who may have a fairytale return and go big in his first game back (and then probably go real quiet game 2). I've rolled the dice on both Bennell and Rivers for his DPP status as first gamer's this week

Pman · 12/06/2020 at 19:34

uh oh for you at 1/4 time

      Billioux · 12/06/2020 at 21:13

        Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 21:36

Don't like our chances , Danger already overtaken Titch…ugh

mick · 12/06/2020 at 19:50

1st major mistake for 2020
I forgot to consider carlton players when making 5 trades.
Bloody Jack Martin and SPS not considered due to hatred of the navy but now I look at the stats and say FLICK

    Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 20:52

Doch and Crippa are enough Blues in my team, the others are a bit meh.

Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 20:49

Danger and Titch getting tagged quite effectively…just great and dandy!
Think I might be wishing I'd taken Grundy's 115
Gazza is still the goat, an old goat now but still the goat.

    TOPHAWK1 · 13/06/2020 at 10:41

Hi Russty. I am taking Grundy's VC score and just bank the modest 230 points. With all the premos coming back from long lay offs, its just a bit of a raffle nailing the right C until we get a better form guide. The probability is high that either one of Crippa, Macrae, Bont, Coniglio, and Whitfield will smash 115 and pump out a 150. But which one? I am happy to err on the side of caution this week and take Grundy's score. I hope they all smash Grundy's scores mind you! LOL So over to you captain Conroy! (My ruck patsy hehehe) Cheers mate. TH

      Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 12:50

Hiya Hawk, yeah I should've been more sensible, Hawks weren't too flash last night, kinda expected more from their mids but they were all a bit fumble bumble, to be expected I guess from most sides until they get back into it.
115 is solid enough mate, I wish I'd taken it now, have to settle for 190.
Didn't realise the Cats and the hawks were such taggers now?…there was a whole lotta taggin going on.

Andy · 12/06/2020 at 20:50

Danger is dead to me. Dropped next week

    Russty_ · 12/06/2020 at 21:38

He'll probably still ton up I reckon.

      Derek · 13/06/2020 at 00:15

      Yep

poloko48 · 12/06/2020 at 20:59

Decided to keep Bont instead of going to Danger – Danger on 29SC at H/T so decision vindicated so far, keep on him Shiels!

mick · 12/06/2020 at 22:04

3 cheers for Chad '5 games p/year' Wingard.
Condolences to those who thought that he was a viable SC option in round 2. LOL
Last 5 games only and 1 or two early or mid season is the clause on Chads SC contract

    Derek · 12/06/2020 at 22:28

The Cats are tough to beat in Geelong, but the hawks were pretty poor tonight. Chad was one of their better players.

The Ceglar experiment needs to end soon.

      dontblushbaby · 12/06/2020 at 22:36

Tigers next week is an interesting matchup for the Hawks on a number of fronts

      Holty01 · 13/06/2020 at 12:17

Thought Ceglar was their best mate. Continued to get his hands to the ball in the ruck but the Hawks only had 1 person in the mids who could grab a clearance and he was tagged. I watched Ceglar closely as I bought him in and continued to tap it to the Hawks advantage but Chad, Worpel etc were so fumbly they couldn’t grab it. There was a period late in the first and early 2nd quarters I think Ceglar tapped it down about 4 times to the advantage but literally the Hawks players were tackled straight away because they fumbled first attempt. Hopefully O’Meara comes back and makes a difference.

    TOPHAWK1 · 13/06/2020 at 10:10

For me Wingard does not quite make the grade as a season keeper for mine. Sure he was cheap, and despite last night's turd, he still played a decent game in a side which got smashed. Not one dude tonned up. I am considering punting Andrew Brayshaw for Isaac Heeney. That bloke IMO is a season keeper. Despite playing a bit up forward (Due to Buddy absence) I still reckon he is good for a 100+ season average.

      Jorg Ancrath · 13/06/2020 at 13:08

If Heendog can get a decent run through the middle, he'll average 100+. With Buddy out, I fear he does same as last year, which is still good returns, but can be a very frustrating roller-coaster.

mick · 12/06/2020 at 22:06

That Selwood kid can play. Where did he come from? Huge price for a rookie

Tommy · 13/06/2020 at 00:17

Need to go early on one of Bennell, Berry or Mchenry. Who is the best option?

Corey · 13/06/2020 at 01:11

How much will Jeremy Howe rise in price after this week his break even must almost be negative haha

Big Maxy · 13/06/2020 at 07:28

Did Patch end up bringing Chadley into his side?

    Jorg Ancrath · 13/06/2020 at 13:05

    Yes. Filthy points chaser*

*says guy who brought Rozee in.

Maverick_ · 13/06/2020 at 09:25

Still have Green sitting at M7. I can play McInerney and just sit green on the bench till bennell goes on the bubble or can pull the trigger today.

will he play much time through the guts? They will probably play him on limited minutes in an already shortened format.. I don't expect a great score tbh

    TOPHAWK1 · 13/06/2020 at 10:14

Id play Mc Inerney and whack Green on the bench. Just wait a week on Harley Bennell to see how he goes. When he was still at Freo he played a number of games in the magoos for Peel Thunder. His form in most of those games was dodgy to say the least. And of course he can break down again being involved in high intensity football now. Wait a week IMO. Cheers TH

      Maverick_ · 13/06/2020 at 11:40

      Cheers TH, solid advice

      I'll hold off

Maverick_ · 13/06/2020 at 11:40

Freo have a late out and Hayden young comes in too make his debut

    Browncow · 13/06/2020 at 13:29

Good news! I suppose we take a look at him today Mav rather than punting Zerk-Thatcher?

      Maverick_ · 13/06/2020 at 15:46

Was more considering Starc too young but holding trades this week only made one thus far! I punted zerk for noble Thursday night…

      Ouch haha

Stupid Coach · 13/06/2020 at 12:11

Who do I trade out of Georgiades, Sturt or Davis as I am one short in the forward line. Do I also trade out Andy Brayshaw although I don't have enough cash to upgrade him to anyone better.

Any advice much appreciated as always.

    Maverick_ · 13/06/2020 at 12:20

I'd probably trade davis as he's omitted the others been dropped through short term injuries so may be back…

I have Brayshaw and have happily held for two reasons…I want two give him a second chance and secondly I'm not sure who to trade too! Rozee looks tempting but happy to have another look at everyone before price changes.

      Mitch is back · 13/06/2020 at 12:50

Price changes after 2 games this season, so you won’t get a chance to see players before price changes if they play both rounds 1 & 2

      Stupid Coach · 13/06/2020 at 15:17

Thanks Maverick and Mitch. I decided to keep Brayshaw and it seems to be paying off as he has nearly beat his score from last week and it is only half time!!. I am also thinking about trading Green from GWS since he has been omitted, however, the only players i can afford are McHenry (Adelaide) and Hayden (NM) who are making their debuts this round and I am not about the job security of either player. Should I bring one of these in for Green or leave him on the bench as I have all the other playing rookies either on the field or on the bench. In terms of a replacement for Davis – who would you suggest out of Gardner (WB) or King (StK).

        Maverick_ · 13/06/2020 at 15:43

Looks like the right call on Brayshaw I hoped he'd bounce back his got the pedigree to become a really good player and had the preseason to suggest it.

I have Green also and have him benched I'll wait a week and wait for bennell to go on the bubble I didn't trust any other rookies so McInerney will come onfield this week.

I'd take king for his rock solid JS

TommyC99 · 13/06/2020 at 12:42

What to do with Davis/ Cavarra, BZT/Gould and Green? If I keep both fwd rookies I have to play Max King, if I keep both def rookies I have to play starcevich and if I keep green I have to play J Mac. What fwd rookies are worth bringing in?
And would you go early on either of rivers/mcasey/Bennell to be able to loop?

    Mitch is back · 13/06/2020 at 12:52

    Play Max King.

Keep Zerk-Thatcher, he will be back playing soon.

Davo · 13/06/2020 at 12:52

Tom Berry or Max King? as a forward rookie to ensure I have 22 playing this week!??

Liam · 13/06/2020 at 12:54

Take Grundy’s score or back in Gawn to outscore 115

    Jorg Ancrath · 13/06/2020 at 13:03

    Back in Gawn.

    TBone_23 · 13/06/2020 at 13:48

Gawn for sure mate, up against Pittonet I like his chances!

    Holty01 · 13/06/2020 at 15:03

I actually bought him in. With no bye rounds anymore, will be very hard to bring in these Uber premos without those 3 trades anymore

Jack · 13/06/2020 at 13:11

Berry anyone?

TBone_23 · 13/06/2020 at 13:46

Chucking the c on Neale this week, could be safe and take Grundys 115 but I think it’s worth the risk. Who’s everyone else throwing the armband on this week? 🙂

    dontblushbaby · 13/06/2020 at 14:02

Hope your right TB, good start so far

    TommyC99 · 13/06/2020 at 14:03

    Gawn for mine!

    Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 14:15

Hi Tbone, I wish I'd put it on Neale!…50 at quarter time..

    TOPHAWK1 · 13/06/2020 at 16:22

Nice call Tbone 169 SC for Lachie Neale. If the bloke keeps this up, he will be worth a million bucks in no time! LOL

    TBone_23 · 13/06/2020 at 17:48

Cheers all stoked to take a 169 for my C score! Was able to loop to get Starcevich’s score too, unfortunately have Rivers on the bench though

mick · 13/06/2020 at 14:21

Starcevich 450% more SC points in Q1 than Fyfe I'm guessing that nobody from this site traded him out

    Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 14:45

I'm sure some must have, I didn't start with him but he looks all right this week, Fyfe and Starc about even on points now.

      dontblushbaby · 13/06/2020 at 14:54

      Never write off a champion

    TOPHAWK1 · 13/06/2020 at 15:02

Starcevich is flying! 59 SC at half time. Got him on the field which a nice little bonus.

      poloko48 · 13/06/2020 at 16:23

Great minds think alike TH! Decided to play safe in keeping him and was rewarded handsomely! Now hoping Mcasey can do something similar, anything 60+ I'd be happy with (on my bench). Safe didn't help with keeping Grundy as C, but happy with Fyfe & Neale's scores in my midfield.
Have only made 1 trade so far (McPherson-Howe via Brander DPP) and will likely make 2 tomorrow (Cavarra-King, Green-McInerney)

    demonsdelights · 13/06/2020 at 16:19

yep kept him.Great dpp with Rivers

    TommyC99 · 13/06/2020 at 16:25

    Won’t be bringing rivers in!!

Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 16:45

Petracca looking damn good early on..and Rivers

    derek · 13/06/2020 at 17:06

    NDD said he was good

    Pettracca started well

    TelescopicCox · 13/06/2020 at 17:06

    Tracc looks the goods finally!

hedski · 13/06/2020 at 17:03

Ha ha, Danger captain over Neale or Gawn looks like it's gonna bite me!
Just realised I can't loop Buderik and King because Davis plays at the same time.
Who to field?

    TelescopicCox · 13/06/2020 at 18:58

Same here!! Worst part was trading Luke Ryan to get to Danger. I’ve gone with King given he has an easier matchup. Hoping he jags a few goals against the Dogs

    Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 19:10

At least you didn't choose Titch Hed like me…re your question see my response to Pman.

      hedski · 13/06/2020 at 20:13

Cheers mate, I was watching my drunk dogs nephew race 5 mins before the game (he won), and forgot to make a move so King it is.

dontblushbaby · 13/06/2020 at 17:08

Viney tagged by Curnow,

TommyC99 · 13/06/2020 at 17:11

Any mid/fwd rookies worth bringing in? Rather not start J Mac/King!

    TBone_23 · 13/06/2020 at 17:45

You could grab C. Taylor if you don’t already have him? Budarik? McHenry?

      TommyC99 · 13/06/2020 at 18:16

      I’ve got buderick and Taylor?

Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 18:44

Jeez Neil you must be sweating bullets mate Carlton are coming!

    demonsdelights · 13/06/2020 at 19:00

Not wrong mate Poor effort ,they need a ddecent razz.Take nothing away from carlton ,they were great

      Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 19:03

Hey they got home by the skin of their teeth mate, 4 points is all that matters, Great games from Gawn and Petracca today, happy enough with Rivers and Bennell.

        demonsdelights · 13/06/2020 at 19:26

Bennell tog 50% all class Nat Jones in huge trouble now ,Luckily all defenders were poor

          Billioux · 13/06/2020 at 19:30

Rivers looks good. Life is hard as a Carlton man.

            demonsdelights · 13/06/2020 at 21:20

All the hallmarks of a future captain

Pman · 13/06/2020 at 18:45

Have to start with either M King or C Budarick who scored 42 and 44 respectively in Rd 1. Any thoughts on who is likely to score better? Am somewhat leaning towards Budarick given he is a midfield type however not overly sold on either. Thoughts?

    Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 19:09

Bit of a coin flip for me Pman, I think King will only get better but it might take time, he relies on marks and goals to score, I'd probably go Budarick but they are playing West Coast so, god I dunno maybe actually flip a coin haha

      Pman · 13/06/2020 at 19:15

Good points and I think a flip of the coin will have to do! Cheers

demonsdelights · 13/06/2020 at 18:57

phww At least I had MAXY and the C too GREAT game by the blues and very unlucky . Traded Harley in before the start and happy enough Now I can get Sturt next week Feel for you LEK NDD

Derek · 13/06/2020 at 19:16

Naismith who?

Pittionet will be the new flavour of the week

    Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 19:26

I'll trade ya Nick Newman in Draft next week Derek..cheap 😉 Pittonet did a nice job, they might be saying Kreuzer who soon.

    demonsdelights · 13/06/2020 at 19:27

Not for me Derek Just watching Sinclair though Gat heading for a huge score Took yours and Russty's advice and went for LONG hope he fires NDD

      gator59 · 13/06/2020 at 21:26

He should get the job done for you mate.. If he fails blame Trigga I notice he has brought him too

        Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 21:34

Nah we'll all blame you Gator, you were the first.

          gator59 · 13/06/2020 at 21:43

It'll be all good Russty.. expect around 140 from him

            Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 21:58

All good either way mate…it's just a game after all lol, you'll also get the accolades if he turns out to be a gun.

          demonsdelights · 13/06/2020 at 22:25

It was out of Doedee and Long so hope he does better. It was that quarter he missed that swayed me

        TRIGGA_HAPPY · 13/06/2020 at 22:55

Too many of the same players gator with the main difference maxy and walters. You are way in front.

Hope to make it 3 from 3 for trades.
Unfortunately had to trade dunkley to long but then got Howe for bzt and SPS for Williams (wc rook). Needed to strenthen the backline so if long performs will be well in front.

      gator59 · 13/06/2020 at 21:27

You had a huge score with Big Maxy

        demonsdelights · 13/06/2020 at 22:24

You're talking champs now Thinking of coughing up for FYFE 650k lotta bucks

      holty01 · 14/06/2020 at 11:52

Not sure about Long Neil. I know a few here have been raving about him but if you look at his last few games, doesn’t get it a lot and % from kick to handball isn’t good either. His scores have been based on intercept possessions. Last game he got a monster 11 from only 14 touches. Don’t think he will be doing that every week. But I will say I’m sure Russty and Derek would have watched him play more then me so they must see something in him I don’t.

    Jorg Ancrath · 13/06/2020 at 20:10

I got him in this week at R3, so I now have have him and Naismith. Some coin to be made. Pittonet can play.

      Derek · 13/06/2020 at 22:27

He can play. Hawks had him for a long time and rated him. He had to leave once Ceglar stayed.

Think I’ll find a spot at R3 for him.

Jorg Ancrath · 13/06/2020 at 20:11

Rozee. Very, very good.

    Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 20:32

Hi Andy…Rozee reminds me of Joel Selwood when he first started out, he was good right from the word go and didn't need much time to adjust to Afl.

      Jorg Ancrath · 13/06/2020 at 21:31

Rowell gonna be another. Best player in the team in his 2nd game.

        Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 21:33

        I wonder if a 1st year rook has ever scored 150 +?

          Pman · 13/06/2020 at 23:46

Did Michael Barlow do it in his debut year? I remember him getting some pretty big scores but not sure if he topped 150.

Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 21:03

Rowell's on 90 at halftime, that's crazy good, I might have to trade him in soon.
Lukzoshiouzsc looking good too.

    Derek · 13/06/2020 at 22:14

I watched the game. He is a beast. BOG by a mile. Won the game for them.

Lukosious was on 59 at half time, as Suns got on top in second half the ball wasn’t down his end much. He is a good player alright.

Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 21:13

Houston, you are a problem!…why did I believe the pre-season hype about this spud?
I feel a rage trade brewing.

    demonsdelights · 13/06/2020 at 21:23

Appears to be a spud but remember Mundy last year russty I bet Derek does , be careful

      dontblushbaby · 13/06/2020 at 21:40

Houston to Howe, best trade so far for me

      Derek · 13/06/2020 at 22:11

I didn’t see game. Where was he playing?

        dontblushbaby · 13/06/2020 at 22:18

Houston played in the Mid – 59pts,TOG 76%, probs best off 1/2 back imo , the other flop was Doedee with 36 pts , TOG 88%

    Pman · 13/06/2020 at 22:06

I'm 100% rage trading him next week! If Stephen Hill returns next week I'm thinking it might be a decent cash generating downgrade option which I need as only have $24K at present.

    Corey · 13/06/2020 at 22:48

A rage trade to Howe after raging about forgetting to trade him in for Houston at the start of the round!! Then traded Bont to Danger instead of Neale then Brayshaw to Viney what a shocker of a week

Jorg Ancrath · 13/06/2020 at 22:04

Go on my Suns!

    AuroraBorealis?! · 13/06/2020 at 22:11

Prince of thorns huh? Wouldn't have expected to see that around here haha

      Jorg Ancrath · 13/06/2020 at 22:14

It's a literary nuance lost on most, I suspect.

        hedski · 14/06/2020 at 09:52

Haven't read any Lawrence yet, I hear his book of the ancestors series is great, I'm reading First Law atm.

          Jorg Ancrath · 14/06/2020 at 10:05

Joe Abercrombie is one of my faves. After the first law, there are 3 standalone books that are equally great. Plus he's started another trilogy in the First Law world.

Book of the Ancestors is good. I prefer his Broken Empire Trilogies. Jorg is an interesting protagonist.

            hedski · 14/06/2020 at 12:07

I finished Red Country last night and started Sharp Ends (short stories set in the universe), then I'm onto A Little Hatred.
Say one thing about Joe Abercrombie, say he can write a damn fine story.

              Jorg Ancrath · 14/06/2020 at 13:38

He's the king of 'grim-dark', for sure.

AuroraBorealis?! · 13/06/2020 at 22:11

Jeez Doedee has been a fantastic trade in, super happy with it

Shake n bake · 13/06/2020 at 22:13

Rozee 17 touches 1 goal = 135 🤔

    Jorg Ancrath · 13/06/2020 at 22:18

It hurts if you don't own him. The fickle mistress that is CD.

    Connor crush · 14/06/2020 at 08:27

Dig deeper. He had 12 contested poss and 10 clearances which set up a lot of goals.

      Connor crush · 14/06/2020 at 08:29

      * correction, he had 8 clearances, also half dozen tackles, He was everywhere last night, absolute future superstar.

TOPHAWK1 · 13/06/2020 at 22:16

Matt Rowell is a dead set freak! That is the best performance by a first year rook I have ever seen. Incredible. Forget Sam Walsh, enter Matt Rowell. 160 SC

Great win by Gold Coast too. West Coast received a serious reality check tonight.

    Jorg Ancrath · 13/06/2020 at 22:20

Absolute gun. The strength to stand in tackles was the thing for me. Already the star in the team after two games.

    demonsdelights · 13/06/2020 at 22:29

    You forget about Clarry TH

      mick · 14/06/2020 at 14:20

Oliver never tonned up at all in his first year mate. His best was 98 V Hawks in his 11th game (rnd 20 2016).
In his second year he was almost as good as Rowell is now 🙂
11 times 100+ from his first 13 games in 2017 the big BUT is that he's been going backwards from a sc perspective ever since.

        mick · 14/06/2020 at 14:23

In his 3rd year he passed 150 once. Last year was the only other time he passed 150. twice (against Gold Coast & Carntwin)
He's a good player but Rowell is already better

    Russty_ · 13/06/2020 at 22:40

You'd have to be a tad spewin if you're one of the 28% who don't have him.
I thought I'd been flung into a parallel universe when I saw the final score of the game and Rowell!

      holty01 · 14/06/2020 at 11:30

The bloke leading SC don’t have him. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Derek · 14/06/2020 at 00:05

Are people happy with there trades so far?

I ended up making 4. I held onto Roberton and took Starcevich’s score, happy with that, especially as I would have traded to Doedee.

Sicily to Howe was great. Although I thought Sicily did good in a team that was badly beaten.

Green to Brown. Meh. Rookie that plays is better than one that doesn’t

Whitfield to Pettracca looks great so far, but Whitfield yet to play and most of my opponents have him.

Georgiades to Wingard, I have Rozee envy.

What did everyone else think of there trades after all the fuss?

    Holty01 · 14/06/2020 at 02:25

    My trades were
    Naismith to Gawn C
    Dunkley to Bennell
    Brayshaw to Ceglar
    Houston to Hurn
    BZT to Brown.
I guess happy as I traded out 1 certain keeper for 3 keepers imo.

      demonsdelights · 14/06/2020 at 07:20

Who's the third Holty Bennell Ceglar or Brown

        Holty · 14/06/2020 at 10:34

Ceglar. I said earlier he was arguably Hawthorns best. If he actually had his midfield getting clean possessions with his hit outs to advantage, could of easily been 100. Look at Pittonet for example, can’t say he dominated but every time he got a hit out, Carltons midfield was clean and got the clearances. Have no idea where to look to find any stats that show ‘Hit outs to adv’ but I’d say he had at least 10 in only 23 hit outs which is damn impressive.

          demonsdelights · 14/06/2020 at 12:45

Point taken bit pricey for me but with Cameron already there worth looking at NDD

      Derek · 14/06/2020 at 12:35

Hurn was in about 18 at half time, you would have been worried, but as the suns got on top in second half, Hurn was able to get near it

        holty01 · 14/06/2020 at 13:08

Yeah mate. Was worried but still happy he is in my team now.

    EMMA · 14/06/2020 at 09:31

    I am very happy went
    Mcpherson to Bennell via DPP
    Roberton to Howe
    Dunkley to Neale
Rivers in for a non playing rookie down back
I wanted Petracca but decided to keep Brayshaw and bring in the Rivers for cash generation
    On 1903 off 17 Gawn C

      Holty01 · 14/06/2020 at 10:37

That is huge Emma. Who you have left to play? Could be pushing 2300-2400 depending who you have left.

        EMMA · 14/06/2020 at 10:46

thanks I have left Macrae, D Smith, B Long, C Taylor and will use Budarick score that I was able to loop

      Derek · 14/06/2020 at 12:36

      You nailed it.

    Maverick_ · 14/06/2020 at 09:36

    G'day Derek!
Just the 1 trade for me
I went BZT too noble… Hopefully that plays out okay over the next month Thursday night has me worried bit his JS looks solid enough imo.

starcevich & Brayshaw were on the chopping block but somehow kept there spots. bennell is on my radar but was happy to wait on him so benched green for now.

Overall happy enough but I wish I'd started one of Fyfe or Neal that will hurt me. Went danger hint oliver cripps & dunks as my ubers. No Fyfe Neale or MacRae :/

Passed on Grundys VC rolling the dice on dunks today

    TOPHAWK1 · 14/06/2020 at 09:50

Roberton to Doedee was a massive disappointment after that pathetic effort by the Crows last night. English to Grundy just had to be done. Andrew Brayshaw to Heeney we will know later today, despite Brayshaw being very solid with his low TOG. O' Connor to Curtis Taylor will be fine and Tom Murphy (DPP magic) to Mc Inerney should be fine also. Cheers TH

    TRIGGA_HAPPY · 14/06/2020 at 10:06

Wont know till dunkley and long play today.
    As that was one trade
But cash saved allowed me to go bzt to Howe
    Williams (wc rook) to SPS

So gotta say happy with those two! 😁

    Derek · 14/06/2020 at 12:43

I need another 5 trades this week.

Kicking myself not using my 5th trade of Cavarra to Sturt this week. That will use one trade next week that I could have already made

dontblushbaby · 14/06/2020 at 09:50

Thoughts on the below please ;

Cavarra to Long or Green to McInerney , already have King & Taylor in the Fwds and Rivers & Buderick in the Mids

TOPHAWK1 · 14/06/2020 at 10:01

Morning Community! I am slowly getting off the canvas after my round 1 disaster of 1872 points. Currently am sitting on 1344 after taking Grundy VC. (Dont have Gawn, Neale YET LOL) These hombres to play today: Coniglio, Macrae, Bontempelli, D Smith, C Taylor, Mc Inerney, Heeney, and Whitfield. I am hoping to hit 2200 after today. I know its not spectacular with some huge scores out there, but after round one, things are starting to look up. How is everybody else travelling this round? Cheers TH.

    TRIGGA_HAPPY · 14/06/2020 at 10:24

    Morns hawk.
Pretty similar with score so far and players to come.
I have long instead of heeney, big sauce and gould with starc sitting pretty with a big E around his neck.

Would be happy with a score over 2200 given # of rooks we have but gator gonna be runaway winner in the happy place with the C on Neale big maxy and sonny (pods) with lloyd to come. Can't compete with that gonna be LARGE!

    holty01 · 14/06/2020 at 11:25

Good to see your heading in the right direction mate

    hedski · 14/06/2020 at 12:14

G'day TH, I'm on 1648 so far (Danger cap), with Cogs, Whitfield, Taylor, Devon, McInerney, Long and King to go, Starcs 99 on the bench hurts as does taking Danger over Neale/Gawn.
    Good luck for today 👍

    demonsdelights · 14/06/2020 at 13:04

Morning Lads Playing HOLTY in Russty's MEGA, neck and neck I have BONT/ LONG and the champ has CONIGLIO/ KING also in TRIGS Playing RUSSTY 266 IN FRONT and should cream him , thank god I got him this week Looking at 2218 plus cheers NDD

    Russty_ · 14/06/2020 at 14:08

Good to see you're bouncing back mate…me I might be lucky to crack 2000 this week, Jacobs currently on 24 at half time is not helping one bit, my fault for not starting with Gawn.

holty01 · 14/06/2020 at 11:39

What are we going to do with Laird? Looks like he will struggle to score in a very poor Crows team right now.

    Russty_ · 14/06/2020 at 14:01

Yeah disappointing score, I'll probably hang on to him for a bit and hope he gets somewhere near back to his best, can't do too many sidewaysies otherwise we'll run out of needed trades.

      gator59 · 14/06/2020 at 14:15

I won't be going anywhere near him this year.. He waned off last year and not in my top 6 sights

    Jorg Ancrath · 14/06/2020 at 16:40

    Ridley and pocket the change

      Russty_ · 14/06/2020 at 21:13

Ridley's looking like a decent prospect.

    derek · 14/06/2020 at 20:54

i have bigger problems then laird

poloko48 · 14/06/2020 at 12:34

1762 from 16.
Roberton, Macrae, JKelly, Bont, DSmith, Taylor to play.
Projected to hit 2224, would be happy to get close to 2300.

gator59 · 14/06/2020 at 14:08

Was it Holty that said a few days ago about big sauce taking on goldy and judge him from there..Big Goldy is absolutely taking him to the cleaners .. Rage trades are coming again from a lot of coaches this week that have sauce

    Shake n bake · 14/06/2020 at 14:09

    23 points half time!

      gator59 · 14/06/2020 at 14:13

Sauce 24 to Goldy's 72 at half time simply not good enough Shake

        Russty_ · 14/06/2020 at 14:14

He would've been already gone from my squad Gator if not for Naismith's hammy twinge.

          gator59 · 14/06/2020 at 14:26

I"m not having a go at any coaches but I understand that we all can't have cookie cutter sides and I give you credit for trying things different. But when it comes down to the best 2 ruckmen in the league you just gotta fork out the money and get them from the start

            TRIGGA_HAPPY · 14/06/2020 at 15:27

Only reason i didnt start gawny was he was under done rd 1 which proved to be the case.

Little did we know he would have over 2 months to get himself up for rd 2. 🙄

              gator59 · 14/06/2020 at 15:41

I understand what you're saying Trigga , But as I said i'm not having a go at any one for starting Sauce.. I just thought there was better choices out there better than him.. You're right about Gawn at the start of the season but I was never in doubt about him

                TRIGGA_HAPPY · 14/06/2020 at 16:07

Wish I had my Draft fwd line in classic!

                Powerful.
                Turbo charged.

                demonsdelights · 14/06/2020 at 16:24

Never in doubt ,,loves the captaincy and set for a massive BROWNLOW year NDD

        Shake n bake · 14/06/2020 at 15:49

already know my 2 trades next week!

    derek · 14/06/2020 at 19:18

thats why i was liking the naismith/Jacods tandem.

Naismith had TBC (easy), Goldy (hard), English (easy), Gawn (hard)
Jacobs had Goldy (hard), English (easy), Grundy (hard) ceglar (easy)

see what Sinclair did today against TBC

I'll hold Jacobs for next week, but he'll have to go before Grundy

Rabbits16 · 14/06/2020 at 14:23

The scoring is super straaaange this season holy moly!?!?!?

    Derek · 14/06/2020 at 16:11

Some massive scores from Ruckmen this season

      gator59 · 14/06/2020 at 16:24

      HUUUUGE Derek

        derek · 14/06/2020 at 19:21

        any reason why.

because teams are going with just one ruckman?

shorter quarters means they ruck for a higher percentage of the time (even though their TOG is the same)?

Stupid Coach · 14/06/2020 at 14:34

Thoughts on.trading the Bont. Missed the chance to trade him out for Cognilio, however, could still trade him out for Parker, Shiel, Kennedy or Dunkley or should I hold and hope he comes good.

    Jorg Ancrath · 14/06/2020 at 16:42

He's a CD darling. He'll be up and down, but every chance he bangs out 150 today.

      holty01 · 14/06/2020 at 18:24

Certainly right about Bont. Loved by CD. 1 handball and is on 14sc points.

Chaddy · 14/06/2020 at 17:04

Dunkley or Bont for Captain? Will Bont receive the Steele treatment

    Russty_ · 14/06/2020 at 18:25

Not so far, Geary's tagging Johannison is the only tag I can see so far.

      Chaddy · 14/06/2020 at 18:38

Thanks I went Dunkley to be safe

holty01 · 14/06/2020 at 18:28

Bloody Lipinski. Talked him up all preseason, was in my team round 1 until he was left out due to a niggle. Gee he looks good early

    derek · 14/06/2020 at 20:54

fairly low TOG. only 69%. that is some nice PPM

picked him off the waivers in a couple of my drafts

holty01 · 14/06/2020 at 18:47

Lol. Bont with 5dt points, 5 disposals, 2 frees against and 30sc points. Can’t work it out. I simply think you put him into your side and then we can stop worrying.

    TOPHAWK1 · 14/06/2020 at 19:19

How he is on 46 SC at half time is a mystery. He looks out of touch and just cant seem to get his hands on the pill. Saw the same in round one. Hope he turns things around and FAST.

TBone_23 · 14/06/2020 at 19:23

Cmon Ben Long, need a big second half from you mate. Also how in the world is Bont on such a high score? Have barely seen him

    Russty_ · 14/06/2020 at 19:42

Looks like Long might be a dud Tbone, I got sucked in too…spewin cause I could've used that money more wisely.
I'll probs hang onto him cause we can't trade everyone who drops a turdy score.

Maxy · 14/06/2020 at 19:24

Where do people go to post scores. Currently 2423 with Kings second half to come. No one in my leagues close. Would like to see if competitive overall.

    Russty_ · 14/06/2020 at 19:43

Check the Herald Sun site after the round's over.

      Maxy · 14/06/2020 at 19:49

Really? Why didn't I think of that LOL. Wanting to see what big scores there are around now.

        Russty_ · 14/06/2020 at 19:56

Oh sorry, so you want to know where you can gloat about your big score before the week is over?…not sure, maybe Fanfooty?
If no one in your league is even close to your score, it's a pretty sure bet you've done well this week.

    holty01 · 14/06/2020 at 20:04

2200-2250 will be a good score this week so we’ll done to you.

    derek · 14/06/2020 at 20:50

Maxy, that will be above average this week 😉

gator59 · 14/06/2020 at 20:00

Come on Long DO don't think Do

    Russty_ · 14/06/2020 at 20:39

He did something…not sure what that something was but it was something apparently.

      demonsdelights · 14/06/2020 at 20:57

Think i will trade him out for Fyfe. Don't like paying so much but as Derek says Pay the price

Russty_ · 14/06/2020 at 20:30

Well done to all you lads and ladies who had good scores this week, I wasn't one of them but them's the breaks, I had my moment in the sun last round, wish we had 5 trades next week as well haha..carn the mighty Sainters!

    JohnDJ59 · 15/06/2020 at 01:28

Hi Russty, happy to be back, although I am finding it a bit hard to get all that excited about the footy and SC this season, that said I was happy the Dees managed to hold on and I ended up winning all my ten league games, including two against Neil with a score of 2255.

      demonsdelights · 15/06/2020 at 16:54

we will take that win John You got me by 4 pts damm

      Russty_ · 15/06/2020 at 22:11

Hi John good to see you back mate…sorry you're not that excited about the resumption mate but I gotta say, I am.
Lots of things have changed due to all this chaos and I hope you're all good, great start for you winning all ten league games, I lost all 10 this week lol, wrong captain's choice!..also went from rank 500 to 18000 LOL
Keep posting John cause you are one of the good ones mate and I'd miss you if you quit. Go the DEES and Go the SAINTS 🙂

holty01 · 14/06/2020 at 21:07

Good work to Gunners (Shaun) who beat me in one of my league matches. 2292 for me this week so reasonably happy

gator59 · 14/06/2020 at 21:09

Sorry guys about the Long Saga and i'm not letting get off lightly.. He'll come good, Everyone has down days and i'm not sure what his roll was meant to be tonight.. Look at Dunks and how many traded him out and next he goes BANG.. cheers Gator

    Russty_ · 14/06/2020 at 21:15

All good mate he probably will come good, all players are still getting their groove back, Saints had it in their fwd line alot tonight…that had a lot to do with him not seeing much of it. I watched the whole game he just didn't get many chances.

      gator59 · 14/06/2020 at 21:27

Yes the saints played well Russty

      TRIGGA_HAPPY · 14/06/2020 at 21:30

Was it that he took the distributor roll rd 1 and Clark had that roll rd 2?

        gator59 · 14/06/2020 at 22:18

I'm pretty sure that the rolls changed this round Trigga.. Long seemed to have more of a lock down roll and played shite too

    demonsdelights · 14/06/2020 at 21:22

A chicken roll still better than doedee though I seen Long at Sandy 2 years ago and the kid was magic but FYFE'S better I will take my 33$ and run

      gator59 · 14/06/2020 at 21:30

Geez Neil you're you aint got much faith in some players.. We all can't have dees players

        demonsdelights · 14/06/2020 at 21:59

only got four gat more that i wan't fyfe than anything Sort of boils down to Lukosious or Long ,they are my only non rookies or prems ..gawn oliver bennell and rivers

Shake n bake · 14/06/2020 at 21:32

Kind of lucky this week won 6 of 10 leagues with a bad captain choice. But with the games l lost l still wouldn’t have won so I’ll take that.

    Derek · 15/06/2020 at 01:42

I was bit the same. Managed 7/9 league wins. A few very close calls that I only won because my opponent had Long. (Lek was 14 ahead coming to last game. He had Long and I had King).

My rookies did ok. Except for Pickett who everyone had and Brown, most of the young lads did good. Rowell, Starcevich, Rivers, Taylor, King and Lukocious all got decent scores. Even Budarick and Brander on my bench did better than Chad, Houston and Jacobs.

      Shake n bake · 15/06/2020 at 07:59

Funny you said that played Trigga he had long l had king and he was 32 pts up. I got lucky King out scored him by 36 pts! Won by 4. I’m looking at downgrading Houston to a playing rookie and then upgrading Jakobs to Gawn. I have to say l made a mistake there that needs to be fixed l think as early as next week.

        Derek · 15/06/2020 at 09:09

And King kicked that last goal in junk time

        Derek · 15/06/2020 at 09:17

I’m holding Jacobs. Has English this week and should be ok.

His BE is only 50, so will make a few more dollars.

Gawn did good, but it was only against Pittionet.

I didn’t see any of the adelaides game, so I don’t know why Houston’s score was that bad in a team that clearly dominated. I’ve already dumped 2 of my starting premiums, Whitfield and Sicily ( for Pettracca and Howe) and I’m expecting that will hurt me soon, ie Mundy last year.

Any reason why Houston scored poorly?

          Shake n bake · 15/06/2020 at 11:25

Houston just seems to be floating. I probably only see him enter 2 centre bounces. At 487 it seems to me he’s not a keeper. I’m sure he’ll have he’s good games because he just floats and the ball will follow him now and then. But think I’ll not wait to make a change season is to short.

Tommo09 · 14/06/2020 at 23:01

Do Macpherson and Cumming have to go? Both having low scores both games

    Russty_ · 14/06/2020 at 23:30

Not sure about Macpherson but Cumming made a lot of mistakes and went backwards by 20 points late in the match, very frustrating.

      Derek · 14/06/2020 at 23:41

The suns midfield was a one man show this week. Macoherson was happy to play mainly as a small forward. Without time in guts, not sure he will be a keeper

Derek · 15/06/2020 at 00:15

This week is about getting my rookies in place and giving the underperforming players another week (although I do have a bit of envy towards any Rozee owners)

Jacobs has English and should bounce back

Have the cash to go either Naismith or Pittionet to R3, but thinking this is a bit of a waste. Expensive rookies don’t make as much cash as cheapies, plus blues and swans have tough games this week.

Might just look at Sturt and Bennell in this week.

Had two solid weeks without anything too exciting. Just happy to be in top 10k is better than horror start last year.

FearTheBeard · 15/06/2020 at 11:38

Laird to Howe a burn or smart move fast.

Kinda feel Laird won't get anywhere near his form last couple seasons.

Wanted Howe last week but went another avenue. Feel Howe, Hurn & Doc give me some stability to build my d around.

    Russty_ · 15/06/2020 at 22:14

Do it if you feel it's right Beard, Howe's been a revelation so far this season, causing some serious non buyer's regret.

poloko48 · 15/06/2020 at 11:40

Trades this week:
1. Xerri-Pittonet
2. either Roberton-Rivers or Robertson-Bennell – which would be better?

    Russty_ · 15/06/2020 at 22:13

RobertSON, if he gets omitted again, otherwise Roberton should get a game and Bennell for sure.

Mitch is Back · 15/06/2020 at 12:42

Need some help community.

I have both Laird & Doedee in defence, can Adelaide really be that bad, and yet their defenders not score decently. Will this continue?, should I be looking to move 1 or both now? If so which one?

Appreciate you thoughts.

    dontblushbaby · 15/06/2020 at 18:09

Same, I'm holding them as they won't lose too much cash, Laird could easily come good ,been proven performer ,it was Doedees first game for awhile and could easily have a break out game this week, besides with only 2 trades this week I need get 2 more rookies in

      dontblushbaby · 15/06/2020 at 18:11

      Whoops, just seen Holtys post

    Russty_ · 15/06/2020 at 22:02

I'd just wait and see Mitch, the worst thing that could happen is that you have enough trades left cause you didn't trade too impulsively.
Sometimes just waiting is the answer.
Doedee was an 80 ish average from memory, surely he can get back there and beyond after covid and recovering from his injury.

holty01 · 15/06/2020 at 13:43

Hi community. A few questions on here regarding Laird has popped up (from myself included) about holding or folding him. Now I’m one that believes you hold a proven premium unless you feel his roll has changed or at least something has changed that may affect his scoring in the long run. So some questions that I put to you community that I look at are:
1. Has his role changed?
2. Has the new coach got his support and vice versa?
3. What type of player is he?

The 1 glaring question I’m looking at is number 3. 1 & 2 are not issues as his role hasn’t changed and anyone around footy knows Nicks is a great bloke and should have the support and vice versa.
Laird is a outside player. He is not someone who gets the hardball. He relies on his teammates to get the ball to him so he can distribute as he is a good user of the ball. This is what I’m concerned about as the Crows are now struggling and are getting smashed in the contest and one on ones, how is Laird going to get the ball? So I think the big question about Laird still being a premo is dependant on his teammates. And with Sloane possibly sidelined for a bit, there’s one less ball winner to get the ball for him. Curious to know the communities thoughts on this. Am I overreacting or could I be on to something? All comments welcome as I have him and seriously considering offloading him.

    Choppers · 15/06/2020 at 14:06

    Hey holty,
FWIW, I offloaded him last week for that same very reason you stated at No.3. I think he'll struggle to get the ball enough to score well, and at 508K and BE 140+, he's going to bleed cash ($50k+) over the next 3 rounds.

    mick · 15/06/2020 at 15:27

The answer to your (between the lines) question is SPS

    The Ranger · 15/06/2020 at 18:22

I don't have him Holty but I'd hold him if I had him.
Just looked at Adelaides numbers and it's not like any of the other defenders are taking points off of him.
Every time I've ditched a premo in the early rounds its always come back to haunt me.

    Russty_ · 15/06/2020 at 21:54

Hey Brad, kinda agree with Ranger on this one, Laird is a good player and only his last year out of the last 3 has he dropped below 100 ave, which makes for a pretty good sc defender I reckon.
I'll hang with him but am seriously considering kicking Houston to the kerb for someone reliable.
80 ave I can deal with from Laird for now, 69 from Houston is unacceptable.

Marc Murphy · 15/06/2020 at 15:32

Cripps is a good footballer but he is not even a Captains belly-button. His team got smashed in 1st quarter both games and he doesn't know enough about strategy to stem the tide. The team has to wait until the coach tells them what is happening at qrtr time. If carntwin get a captain with a footballers brain they could seriously contend for finals berth but whilst they a crippled for onfield leadership they will continue to get smashed early by so much they can't get back in the game

    Marc Murphy · 15/06/2020 at 15:47

You'll also notice that he currently ranked 19th for midfield eligible players, this is probably his season peak. Yes he's a good footballer but he is not a great footballer, he's a lot like Clayton Oliver very good when nobody pays him attention but give him a tag and he's just ordinary good. Oliver is a much better defensive player than Cripps though Cripps can't tackle to save his life, a wet paper bag could bust out of a Cripps tackle.
Bailey Smith or even simpkin will probably be better options this year than Cripps if you have him sell him now he is not a top 10 mid

      derek · 15/06/2020 at 15:57

who are your top 10 mids then?

        Kym · 15/06/2020 at 17:32

This guy marc trolls under different names all the time.

    Russty_ · 15/06/2020 at 22:07

Maybe not the best captain in the world but I'll take his 114 average as a SC player, couldn't give a crap about Carlton or how good a Captain he is, as long as he delivers the consistent scores and hopefully the odd huge score cause he's a great player.
He finished ranked 4th in 2018 with an average of 119.4
He finished ranked 14th in 2019 with an average of 117.1 and only because he missed 2 games…so he is a top 8 midfielder.
He didn't start out as a great footballer, he took a few years to get going, but a lot less time that Paddy Dangerfield…. had a few setbacks, I remember because I picked him in SC when he was still getting going and he disappointed for a few of them.

    Lekdog · 16/06/2020 at 11:31

Strongly disagree with a lot of this, will point out that Docherty is the co-captain for his leadership and strategy. Has been in the coaches box for two years now.

Cripps job is to impact, he did that with three contested marks in the fourth. He only kicked one of those which is really disappointing but I trust that he'll work harder than anyone else at the club to fix that.

In terms of fixing the start of games, I'd play our hard-nosed players in the right position i.e. Curnow tagging and not loose, Gibbons in the midfield, Martin on the outside. Which is what we do in the second half of games where we win quarters, very frustrating that it doesn't happen from the start.

The Ranger · 15/06/2020 at 17:27

Houston – Ridley and bank $110K or hold?
I was happy to hold Houston last week but if he can't score well whilst Port are smashing teams then perhaps he's just not going to?

    Jorg Ancrath · 15/06/2020 at 17:29

I was just about to ask the communities opinion on Ridley. Can he average 95?

      The Ranger · 15/06/2020 at 17:39

I think he could average 90 and I'd take that for a while. I see him as a potential keeper that would also act as a stepping stone.
He was on my watchlist from the end of last year but he was so awkwardly priced i couldn't fit him in to start.

        Russty_ · 15/06/2020 at 22:04

Houston to Ridley is good Dex if Ridley continues his over 90's scores, I considered him too cause I also got sucked into Houston for some reason. ANYWAYS….I'm thinking someone more reliable like Tom Stewart or even Lloyd, someone you know will see you through to the end.

Jorg Ancrath · 15/06/2020 at 18:18

Simpkins or Smith (Bailey). Or another around that price. I have Macpherson who needs to go!

    Russty_ · 15/06/2020 at 21:56

You'd be hoping both of those guys have their breakout years this year Jorg….if you could afford a bit more moolah, I'd be jumping on Petracca, he's looking finally like the beast he always promised to be.

dontblushbaby · 15/06/2020 at 18:53

Do Pie fans believe that Cameron will hold out Cox in coming weeks or even long term ?

    Russty_ · 15/06/2020 at 21:49

Hi Dbb, not a Pies supporter but still a Pies fan, I think a lot will depend on how Darcy goes this week re: your question.
If I were the Pies management… I'd be wanting to develop Darcy now rather than persist with often unco Cox and hope he comes good at 29.

I liked the look of him ranger. Created a contest and brought it to ground a lot more than cox tends to do. Didn't really threaten to get on the scoreboard but a lot of that probably came down to richmond keeping it in our half for much of the second half.

Ben Cunnington? Is he a top 8 mid?

    Russty_ · 15/06/2020 at 21:47

Not according to the stats, not even in the top 20 actually.

      redherringfc · 16/06/2020 at 05:35

Thanks Russty. But what if we manipulate those stats by removing his Matt de Boer affected game? What I meant is; from here on, is he a genuine chance of being one of the best mids for the season?

Last year was his best career year, I don;t see him improving on that
