A bit of a more serious pod this week, community. Hopefully, we answered some of your questions and hopefully I didn't ramble too much.

poloko48 · 03/06/2020 at 23:11

Hey guys thanks for the pod, can't wait for season to restart!

Here are my corrective trades (subject to team names)

another rookie or Oscar MacDonald

Team (with changes)

DEF: Doch, Short, McDonald, Noble, Starcevich, Brander, Williams, Gould
MID: Macrae, Neale, Fyfe, Kelly, Cripps, Bont, Rowell, Pickett, Brown, McInerney, Robertson
RUC: Grundy, Gawn, Cameron
FWD: Dusty, Heeney, Smith, Georgiadis, Sturt, Taylor, Xerri, Budarick.

    Lekdog · 04/06/2020 at 18:47

If the rookies are named, I don't hate it!

Russty_ · 04/06/2020 at 11:53

Nice Pod guys, good to hear Clarky make his debut on the mic, I'm just more confused now, not sure whether to play it safe by just replacing rookies who don't get a game or trade a few premos out to acquire cash making scorers, the ever present background feeling is also…save your trades.
The fear of missing out on guys like Naismith and Long is swaying my decisions but damn it's hard to know exactly what to do, maybe best just waiting until teams are named.

    Lekdog · 04/06/2020 at 18:47

I think you can afford to miss those guys, what are the odds they actually work out?

Unless no rookies are named, then get them in!

Shake n bake · 05/06/2020 at 13:22

looking back at rd 1, scored 2194. with Sturt 100 & Noble 76 on the pine played Starcevich 28 & Bedford 39. lost out on 109pts plus not having Grundy as Capt lost 69pts. So important to get these 2 major things right!! still so annoying. Hate looking back on that! Could have been 2372. Any other team in the same boat?

    derek · 05/06/2020 at 13:57

won't be the last time that happens.

with so many rookies playing on the forward line, it is worth having a cheap DPP donut like Bundarick (if he doesn't play) to have as a rookie loophole

      Shake n bake · 05/06/2020 at 14:11

couldnt loop Sturt because didnt have the emg on him. vc Cripps with pre season beat up of the bulldogs ruckman l decided to run with fyfe as capt. Even with Grundys record against him. Like you said definetly wont be the last time. But still is the difference alot of the times between winning & losing, ranking and burying my head in the sand!!!

    Choppers · 05/06/2020 at 14:05

I didn't do too bad. Had Pickett (94) on the bench instead of Green (41) and had Neale Capt. instead of Grundy. Scored 2384 which could have been a pretty decent 2459.
Had all the other low scoring rooks on the pine.

      derek · 05/06/2020 at 16:08

you had a lot go good for that score. well done

    JEL · 06/06/2020 at 18:25

I hear you, Georgiades(78), McInerney(81) & Brander(59) on the pine, Cavarra(32), Greene(41) and Roberton(26) doing nothing on field. Thats 119 pts going begging. At least I snagged Grundy as C.

The Jinx · 05/06/2020 at 14:16

Tinkering with the idea of bringing in
I guess it's a no brainer bring in the two rookies on the bubble. Howe im kinda iffy with him, either just go straight to Hurn.

These are the expense of culling the likes of
Still 2 trades left incase Starcevic and Green are not named. Also pondering if I should upgrade Brayshaw to Heeney. Have 151K in the kitty

What do ya guys reckon?
Howe or Hurn
Keep Brayshaw or move to Heeney.

Cheers fellas
The Jinx

    Russty_ · 06/06/2020 at 00:12

Hey Jonah, I wouldn't be getting Howe in after that score…reckon it's a bit of fool's gold. Hurn all the way.
Noble is a good pick I think, Sturt might still be injured Trigga said…could consider Georgiadis or Taylor instead.
I'd wanna give Gresham another chance to see how he goes, Shulz and Zerk maybe can go, I'd put Brayshaw in the Gresham category as maybe give em another chance?…Heeney scores plenty of times a season well under 100 so no big loss.
It's still 16 rounds to go and 4 rounds of finals so we don't have to do anything hastily and we sure don't want to run out of trades.

Westy · 05/06/2020 at 14:42

I don't really want to drop any premos – only had 6k available, but proposing to go
Out – Laird MacPherson, Roberton, Zerk-Thatcher, Green
In – Viney, Gould, Howe, Taylor, Docherty (yes I inexplicably missed Doc in my round 1 team).

Team would then be
D Daniel, Stewart, Docherty, Howe, Noble, Brander, Williams, Gould
M Macrae, Neale, Dangerfield, Coniglio, Rowell, Pickett, McInerney, Brown, Robertson, Budarick
R Grundy, Natanui, Cameron
F Whitfield, Martin, Ceglar, D Smith, Sturt, Taylor, M King, Cavarra

Am I setting myself up for a season of disappointment?

    derek · 05/06/2020 at 16:22

I think your team is missing Viney in your mids

There could be at least 5 or 6 non-playing rookies in your team. will see when teams drop. priority must be with the rookies first

NicNat is an interesting pick. I don't mind it with the shorter quarters, but i still don't think he will match Gawn in the long run. there is so much value in either Jacobs or Naismith.

      Westy · 05/06/2020 at 19:35

Oops, you’re right Derek. I forgot to list Viney.
All wI’ll become clearer when the teams drop.

    Russty_ · 06/06/2020 at 00:03

Heya Westy, reckon Laird, Macpherson and Roberton might be worth hanging onto for a bit longer, especially Laird.
Viney and Howe are only tempting cause of their scores from round 1.. otherwise Viney ain't done much and Howe averaged 79 last year and is almost 30. Doch is a must though I feel.
I was feeling the same about players like Long but before round 1, his average was megashite…and as some wise heads have said, it's rare mid pricers work out…so they'll have to end up going out anyhoo.
Gotta nail the best rookie scenario early as possible.

    NoLanguage96 · 10/06/2020 at 22:15

I wouldn't get sucked into Viney off one score

Shake n bake · 05/06/2020 at 17:48

I think Brown will play against the Tigers

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 05/06/2020 at 19:54

Purple haze

Sturt and Young unlikely as recovering
Hill likely

    Russty_ · 06/06/2020 at 00:05

Gosh I hope some other defensive rookies show up cause I wouldn't wanna depend on Hill.

      demonsdelights · 06/06/2020 at 11:20

Rivers mate, Looked at LONG and decided Doedee was a better fit. He just gets more of the pill than Long

dontblushbaby · 05/06/2020 at 22:39

Add Sam PHILP – Carlton Mid 122k to your watch list, taken at 20 last year and reports to be training well

    demonsdelights · 06/06/2020 at 11:17

And Rivers too, apparently flying and they love his disposal ,long and penetrating, They put his disposal in front of SALEM and that's unbelieveable There are 7 defenders in front of him but if one fails he's next Changed my opinion about him NDD

Jacob · 06/06/2020 at 00:06

I have done these trades
Out: Berk, Bont and green
In: ceglar, mcinerney and Howe

Team with trades
D Daniel Doc Howe Roberton Noble Brander B.Williams Gould
M Macrae Neale Cripps Mitchell Brayshaw(Freo) Rowell Brown Pickett McInerney Robertson Budarick
R Grundy Gawn Xerri
F Whitfield Martin Ceglar Smith Georgiades Taylor Rankine King

Should I undo the trades or should I bring in or trade out anyone else. I’m sitting on 34600 with the trades made. New to supercoach would love some help

    Russty_ · 06/06/2020 at 00:49

Is it possible to not trade out Bont and maybe get Bennell or Mcinerny for Green and Doedee for Zerk?

Roo · 06/06/2020 at 08:21

Why are people trading Bont, ridiculous…

    Choppers · 07/06/2020 at 13:09

I'm sideways trading Bont to Danger…
Before Rd1, I had them both at M3 and went for Bont just slightly over Danger.
After the draw has been re-done, Bont has 3 possible tags in the next 3 games Steele (St.K) DeBoer(GWS) and Hewitt (SYD) so will swap with Danger who has HAW CARL and GC at home and MELB at the G….. I think Danger will go OK and Bont might score all sub 100s if he's tagged. If his price drops enough, then might pick him up later…..

TOPHAWK1 · 06/06/2020 at 11:32

Gday community!

The footy is nearly back upon us and the wait is finally over.

I am going to use all 5 trades this round. I just have so many things to fix its ridiculous. Anyway here is the plan. I have Tim English and Nic Nat as R2 and R1. Right there is my achilles heel. However, I am not trading either of these blokes out this week. I am going to give them a bit more time as Nic Nat will make a bit of cash and English will hopefully not lose too much coin. My 5 trades are purely going to be used to try and raise as much cash as possible.

The 5 that are OUT are as follows:

M Conroy
A Brayshaw
D Roberton
T Rivers

The 5 that come IN are as follows:
T Doedee
J Mc Inerney
T Viney
T Naismith
D Cameron (forward line)

This will leave me with $250K in the warchest to use in coming weeks to upgrade Nic Nat and English to Gawn and Grundy. My side will make good cash with key rooks and the incoming players this week.

I still have a lot of problems with my side, but I feel these 5 trades will give me at least some hope of getting the season back on track. (My trades may change should there be some big surprises come team announcements next week)

Here is my current side after using my 5 trades-

DEF: J Sicily, J Crisp, S Docherty, T Doedee, J Noble, B Starcevich
EMG T Murphy, B O'connor (def/fwd)

MID: J Macrae, P Cripps, M Bontempelli, S Coniglio, H Mc Cluggage, J Viney, M Rowell, M Pickett
EMG J Mc Inerney, T Green, C Budarick (mid/fwd)

RUC: N Naitanui, T English
EMG S Naismith

FWD: L Whitfield, D Martin, D Smith, J Brander, M Georgiades, D Cameron
EMG S Sturt (May miss this week) B Cavarra

As you can see my bench depth is vulnerable at the moment. With a bit of luck in the coming month, I can trade myself into a position of strength. Also with the $250K in the bank start working on securing Grundy and Gawn in the weeks ahead.

Is my season dead or is there still hope for TOPHAWK? Fire away community!

Cheers. TH.

    Shake n bake · 06/06/2020 at 14:01

If lose English now bring in Grundy

    Derek · 06/06/2020 at 16:03

Try replacing English with Naismith and Cameron at R3. I’d even wait a week on Cameron and get your other rookies sorted out.

    Russty_ · 06/06/2020 at 18:54

I think all our benches are vulnerable this year mate, hang in there though, rough start for ya but you'll bounce back.
Some of my most enjoyable years in SC were after bad starts and clawing my way back into it.
Reckon I'm down with the using 5 trades thing though, makes my side look a lot better, still stuck with 2 non playing on the def bench though. ..I've done many practice runs, just gotta wait for teams to drop now.

      demonsdelights · 06/06/2020 at 19:47

Reckon you're right Russty. When you analyse TH's squad there are only 4 bad picks Cavarra Starscevic Crisp and Cameron and even these are a matter of opinion ,TH could well be ok 13 prems and 13 ok cashcows with 5 trades ,with good trading he is back I would keep Rivers ,forget Viney and get DOEDEE LONG and GRUNDY His other 4 outs are sensible. Agressive trading to get the good cashcows and he is right back

        Russty_ · 07/06/2020 at 01:35

True mate, Starcevich Crisp and even Cameron could go ok without Cox there, Cavarra didn't cut it.
TH went super risky in the Ruck dept not having either of the big 2, Nicnat could still be ok with the reduced gametimes.
I agree with Derek in maybe dump English for Naismith now before it's too late.

    TOPHAWK1 · 07/06/2020 at 20:19

Hi guys. Thanks heaps for the awesome feedback. I have decided to pass on Viney. One huge score does not make him an instant premo even at his reduced price. I have decided to grab Grundy AND Naismith. I have to move on Grundy NOW as he is crucial as a VC loophole option. (Especially this coming round) As it sits now, (barring major surprises when teams drop) I am bringing in Grundy, (For English), Naismith (For Conroy), Doedee, Mc Inerney, and Curtis Taylor. Andrew Brayshaw is gone. $85K in the bank.
    Cheers. TH

mick · 06/06/2020 at 20:39

Bewley or Long? Bewley had 16 kicks @ 85%de to get that 90+ but long only had 7kicks to go 110+ neither kicked goals. Long only scored 51 in DT
Did Long do a couple of very important things late in the 2point loss or was it the 11 intercept possessions?
Is Ben Long fit & healthy?

    HarryH76 · 08/06/2020 at 20:50

Don't know enough about Long but Bewley is a pass for me. Acres was playing wing pre-season until injured and will likely take his spot. S Hill to come back too

Derek · 06/06/2020 at 21:56

What are Sicily owners doing?

I thought he played ok round 1 but he made a few clangers that really hurt his score.

His role is not clear cut as it should be, especially with Gunston likely to spend plenty of time in defence with Patton and Lewis In the forward like.

Big Boy has been sent to defence for his intercept marking ability may hurt Sicily as well.

I have cash to go to Hurn

    Shake n bake · 06/06/2020 at 22:15

I want Hurn in now aswell. I might even go sideways. Laird to Hurn.

    Russty_ · 07/06/2020 at 00:04

Might be time to rip the band-aid off quick Derek before the pain registers.
There will need to be some sideways trading this season …I think it's gonna be unavoidable.

Iridium 192 · 06/06/2020 at 23:14

I think I will be sticking with the golden rule when it comes to my premiums. "Remember why you picked them in the first place." I cannot believe the chatter about people trading the Bont after 1 round! I would love a $ for every time someone chases last weeks points and they come unstuck.

Good luck all!

    Russty_ · 07/06/2020 at 00:02

I was thinking about it for awhile there, but he's the Dog's Captain and he's a gun player and still young so no I won't be doing that, not for Heeney anyway.
3873 have done it so far though…I reckon anyone putting Viney or Howe straight in are kind of points chasing.
Those two have been nowhere near first choice picks in years past. Howe averaged 78 last year and Viney was a walking injury for years. I'm off Long even with his new half back roll…he just doesn't have the points on the board.
Around that price range I reckon Doedee's a decent pick.

    B-Mac · 07/06/2020 at 08:31

In any normal season (and situation) I’d agree. But can see merit in trading to avoid an early hit in value and put in safeguards elsewhere.
If trading sideways now will make cash straight away and result in a further net gain when prices change I think it can put you in a stronger position overall given uncertainty in rookies.

Bont obviously a candidate for that approach, and Viney / Simpkin at the other end.

    It’s something I’m considering anyway.

      Choppers · 07/06/2020 at 13:13

I'm sideways trading Bont to Danger…
Before Rd1, I had them both at M3 and went for Bont just slightly over Danger.
After the draw has been re-done, Bont has 3 possible tags in the next 3 games Steele (St.K) DeBoer(GWS) and Hewitt (SYD) so will swap with Danger who has HAW CARL and GC at home and MELB at the G….. I think Danger will go OK and Bont might score all sub 100s if he's tagged. If his price drops enough, then might pick him up later…..

Russty_ · 07/06/2020 at 01:46

I'm excited about next week!…Footy is back on and hopefully back to normal, relatively. I reckon we're lucky Supercoach is even still running at all.
Hoping we can all start getting excited and posting a lot more..we need to give the lads who run this joint a reason to get the content happening, so let's all show the appropriate support over the next week cause there needs to be something for all of us to look forward to in these difficult times.
Lek, Patch, Damo, Barron, Clarky, Kev, Matty, Trigga and all other past contributors, you're all much appreciated..keep up the good work fellas.

    demonsdelights · 07/06/2020 at 12:16

Good to be back fellas, I also am keeping my prems Bont could well do a 150 .Best player at the dogs says it all Viney will tag at some time as Harmes is now in defence but sorrry Russty HOWE will be top 8 defender.can't agree on that one I went with Doedee also ,just gets the pill more than Long..Simpkin could be anything ,a watch for me Cheers

      Choppers · 07/06/2020 at 13:17

If The Bont can score 150 in the next 3 weeks against the tags of Steele, De Boer and Hewitt, he'll rightfully be classed as a superstar..I just can't see it, sorry.

        demonsdelights · 07/06/2020 at 15:55

good chance Macrae gets the tag though chops

          Choppers · 07/06/2020 at 16:59

Certainly possible that's for sure. I still think Danger will outscore Bont over the next 3 games. Time will tell.

      Russty_ · 07/06/2020 at 14:02

I'd probably get Howe in if I could afford him Neil but I'm gonna be depending on Doedee, Noble and Brander for awhile before that happens.
From the talk about Bont mate, we might end up with a pod keeping him lol

        demonsdelights · 07/06/2020 at 15:59

yeah i have them 3 also

    TOPHAWK1 · 07/06/2020 at 20:31

Great stuff Russty! Bring on Thursday!

TelescopicCox · 07/06/2020 at 09:47

Hi community. Who are the most pressing trade outs from the below:

Dunkley (have Bont & Macrae) – either down to Viney or up to Neale
McAsey – has to go regardless
Luke Ryan – was it just a bad game? I can’t remember round 1 anymore
MacPherson – midfield role wasn’t there round 1
Lukosius – just ok. Could be a hold

Cheers all

    Derek · 07/06/2020 at 15:08

Dunkley to Neale looks a positive move.

Libba will make it a bit crowded in the dogs midfield and think Dunkley will get the bump out

Lukisious is well worth a hold. He started very well in R1 but didn’t see much of it after half time. Doedee is there next round if you want

Derek · 07/06/2020 at 15:02

I’m starting to like Wingard. Fits into the ‘fallen premium’ category, only type of midpricer I like. $412k is good value for someone who will get plenty of midfield time.

Sicily to Wingard gives me coin to get Naismith at R3

    Derek · 08/06/2020 at 15:43

Sticking with Sicily. Maybe just have Naismith at R2

    Hold our premiums

      Russty_ · 08/06/2020 at 21:23

I'm going Jacobs to Naismith too Derek, reasoning is, Jacobs has been fading last few years and also he's 32 and Naismith is 27, much more chance of Sauce getting injured at that age.

AuroraBorealis?! · 07/06/2020 at 15:22

I am sticking with Dunkley fellas, I think it's nuts to trade him out after one bad game. He will not be the primary focus of tags at the bulldogs, and his score in rd 1 can be attributed to a thrashing by the pies midfield. It wasn't just Dunks that was beaten, it was the entire midfield. Try and remember why we picked him in the preseason, and try not to lose our heads in these unprecedented times. A lot of all time rules will change this year, but this one wont; BACK IN YOUR PREMIUMS

    Russty_ · 08/06/2020 at 01:34

How ya doin AB…wise words mate, how often do we regret trading someone out hastily, usually a bit of waiting and things balance themselves out.

Shake n bake · 07/06/2020 at 17:46

So how many trades are we using this week?? I’ve used all 5.

    demonsdelights · 07/06/2020 at 18:20

all five too Shake keeping all 13 prems Actually I like my whole 30 players now Budarick and Close serve a purpose and Rivers will debut soon The one am not 100% on is Lion's Robertson NDD

      Shake n bake · 07/06/2020 at 18:50

Hope Rivers gets up. I selected him in rd 1.

        Derek · 08/06/2020 at 14:19

Even if he doesn’t get an early game, he will be a nice rookie loophole. I will need to get a score from Starcevich or Brander

          Shake n bake · 08/06/2020 at 15:32

I got in Hurn so I’m batting 4 deep in def moved on zerk

    TOPHAWK1 · 07/06/2020 at 20:34

Used all 5. If not sure, look upwards. LOL

    Choppers · 07/06/2020 at 23:43

I've penciled in 4 and No5 will depend on team selection…

    Russty_ · 08/06/2020 at 01:25

5 here too Shake, hopefully improved things and banked 175k in the process.

Billioux · 07/06/2020 at 18:32

Hey all, great to have footy and SC back.! I am thinking a crazy year calls for crazy ideas. I for one am throwing the "SC rule book" out the window. Using all 5 trades. Sicily to Howe, Bont to Viney. Robertson to Doedee and the other 2 to sort rookies. Possibly a crash and burn strategy, however i am going to have a crack.

    Russty_ · 08/06/2020 at 01:32

Hey Billi…Like the Robbo to Doedee pick, the other 2 I reckon may or may not be worth doing, just my opinion though, I think Sicily and Bont will outscore the other 2 by miles. How are your playing rookies looking?

      Billioux · 08/06/2020 at 16:11

Hey Russty, thanks for input. Rookies looking ok, selection this week will tell more. I agree with you re the bont and Sicily outscoring the other two. In a normal year i would laugh at my trades, proposed. However just figuring this is far from a normal year. Reckon we at least 8/10 trades up on a normal year. No Bye 3 trade rounds, shorten season etc. Happy to burn some sideways trades to raise $. Anyway good luck to you and all.

        Russty_ · 08/06/2020 at 21:22

Yeah I see your point mate, gotta remember though it' still a 21 week season including finals..I don't want to use 5 but think I have to cause of all the non playing rookies, Ideally you'd wanna be starting your team this week haha

TOPHAWK1 · 07/06/2020 at 20:22

Cheers. TH

    demonsdelights · 07/06/2020 at 20:35

wow That's even better than I thought TH. Can't fault any of the ins Who are the other two outs mate. Congrats back in town NDD

      TOPHAWK1 · 07/06/2020 at 20:47

Cheers Neil. At this stage the other two casualties are Barry O'connor and Trent Rivers. But both were swing men between Brander and Starcevich respectively. Both are likely to be named for round 2. However, I really like Rivers, what do you reckon? TH

    TRIGGA_HAPPY · 07/06/2020 at 21:46

Yeah you need to fix that fatal flaw from rd 1 hawk and bring in Grundy.

    Best VC going. 👍

    Choppers · 07/06/2020 at 23:45

I like what you've done there, bloke.

      Choppers · 07/06/2020 at 23:49

especially bringing in McInerny and Taylor…

    Russty_ · 08/06/2020 at 01:36

Good calls TH, you'll be right mate, keep fighting it out till the end, remember though, we'll all have to abstain from trading for probably 4 weeks or so to have trades come finals time. I bet your rank improves every week until the end, ganbatte yo!

demonsdelights · 07/06/2020 at 21:48

Murphy and Green for me keep the swingset. The Dee coaches love Rivers even at his super young age he shows enormous upside Will debut soon Is O'connor the irishman?

Derek · 08/06/2020 at 15:10

    demonsdelights · 08/06/2020 at 15:33

Didn't think of Conroy to Naismith DEREK? very similar to mine except gawn and Coniglio in the main

      Derek · 08/06/2020 at 16:23

That was my first plan. Have Jacob and Naismith in tandom over next 4 weeks.

Can’t have both unless I trade out a premium like Whitfield to Howe or Viney. Decided I had to choose one, and Naismith was easy choice

Naismith similar price to Roberton, think Naismith will score better and make more cash.

Jacobs similar to Wingard, think Chad will do better plus could be a keeper.

Watched round 1 again, Chad moved into midfield after quarter time, Worp couldn’t hit a target, and got a lot of the ball and delivered it well. can see him becoming more mid than forward

      Derek · 08/06/2020 at 20:57

Don’t think there is much between Jacobs and Naismith except the price.

Wanted both and run them in random over next four weeks, but Going with Naismith, means a choice between Jacobs and Wingard.

Chad looked great round 1. Lots of midfield time, is a fallen premium and could be a season keeper

    Shake n bake · 08/06/2020 at 17:16

Instead of Sicily & Houston l have Hurn and Howe instead of Macrea Oliver Titch and wingard l have Fyfe Cripps Danger & viney. Fwds the same.

      Derek · 08/06/2020 at 21:01

Probably Hurn and Howe is ahead of my two, but I know if I dump Sicily he will score big.

I’m liking Chad ahead of Viney. Chad will eventually swing forward and could easy be top 6 forward, where Viney will need to be upgraded later.

Choppers · 08/06/2020 at 17:45

Rankine has been ruled out again, if anyone was considering bringing him in.

    Russty_ · 08/06/2020 at 18:23

Yeah I was considering him, what's wrong with him this time ?..hoping Bennell gets named.

      Choppers · 08/06/2020 at 19:58

Suns want more time on the track. They don't think he's had enough time to get match fit. He hasn't broken down again or anything like that, they're just being cautious with him.

        Russty_ · 08/06/2020 at 21:20

        Ah ok cheers Choppers.

          Choppers · 08/06/2020 at 23:24

          This from the Suns……

SUNS GM – Football Operations Jon Haines has ruled out a potential Round 2 debut for exciting forward Izak Rankine.

Haines said the short duration of the return to train period ahead of the 2020 season meant the club would take a cautious approach with ensuring the 2018 draftee was ready to endure the demands of AFL football.

Shake n bake · 08/06/2020 at 20:48

Cameron to play

    Derek · 08/06/2020 at 21:03

Consider him on the bubble. How far away is Cox?

      Shake n bake · 08/06/2020 at 21:42

Hes going to play in a scratch match on wed

        dontblushbaby · 08/06/2020 at 22:01

Yep, Tigers & Pies players not playing Thursday are getting on a the G Wednesday

dontblushbaby · 08/06/2020 at 22:14

I'm staying with Jacobs over a downgrade to Naismith , 134 pts first round, taps to advantage to gun Mids,

I seen him play in Wagga in the last practice game and his marking around the ground was excellent, GWS players were looking for him

Shake n bake · 09/06/2020 at 10:14

Naismith in doug

Shake n bake · 09/06/2020 at 10:16

Naismith in doubt this week hamstring tightness

    derek · 09/06/2020 at 12:55

    that is very interesting

    DavidC · 09/06/2020 at 13:07

People who went Naismith at R2 with no cover will be nervous. With his injury history I can't see the Swans playing him. Knoll went down with a PCL injury as well. Leaves Sinclaire or maybe Aliir x 2 to take the rucking role.

    TRIGGA_HAPPY · 09/06/2020 at 14:29

    that is massive

a few reverse trade buttons will no doubt being pushed in earnest at the moment!

JEL · 09/06/2020 at 11:06

Trying to decide between 2 combos
Macrae + Simpkin or
Danger + Heeney

Any thoughts?

    NoLanguage96 · 09/06/2020 at 20:35

    I like the first combo!

      JEL · 10/06/2020 at 10:07

Yes, it's the one I'm leaning towards.
I was quite bullish on Heeney, but there is some concern about a potential role change.

TelescopicCox · 09/06/2020 at 12:32

Toying around with some left field options. Looking at re-modelling my team as per below (subject to rookies):

A) Viney, Pendlebury & Fort
B) Viney, Danger & Townsend
C) Neale,Bennell, Ceglar

    DavidC · 09/06/2020 at 12:59

Townsend scored well in R1 because he snagged 3 goals, he didn't spend any time in the midfield, I wouldn't recommend going there.
Fort, well he's on the Geelong ruck merry go round. I have him in AFL fantasy but not prepared to touch him in the other formats.
And you're a braver man than me if you bring in Harley without having a look at him first.

Cheap reliable options up front are tough to find. Do you have Curtis Taylor? Ben Long perhaps?

      TelescopicCox · 09/06/2020 at 14:06

Already on Taylor but I’ll give Long or even Bewley a look. I’m being pretty ambitious with the first two options, as Viney would be my M6. I’ll look at grabbing an extra premo DEF or FWD

    NoLanguage96 · 10/06/2020 at 22:27

Why are you dropping Green? One average game for a rookie I'd back him in if he's named

FearTheBeard · 09/06/2020 at 13:22

Lads do we have to get the rookies in like Georgiadis before this week to avoid prices or still another round not sure with the new season stuff?

Also Long or Rozee in ?

    Iridium 192 · 09/06/2020 at 13:46

i they played round 1, and play this week, you need to have them as price changes happen after 2 rounds this year.

    Choppers · 09/06/2020 at 13:57

Players prices change after their 2nd game. If Georgiades is named and plays Rd2, then his price will be changed for Rd3.
If you want him in your team at his current price, then you need to bring him in before his 2nd game.

Shake n bake · 09/06/2020 at 13:29

Stevenson not selected 🙁

    demonsdelights · 09/06/2020 at 14:30

that's a turn up must be injured

      Shake n bake · 09/06/2020 at 14:51

Has been training well. Will play we’d

Shake n bake · 09/06/2020 at 14:33

larkey won’t play for nth this week so Taylor should stay in.

TOPHAWK1 · 09/06/2020 at 19:02

If Naismith misses this week, that is a massive bonus for non owners as his price will not change. It buys me a week's time and focus on other lines.

    demonsdelights · 09/06/2020 at 19:57

Spot on TH I am going to watch Cameron and save the trade No sense in wasting one when i am happy with the rest Cox remains a threat to Cameron and I think he would have to go super well to hold his spot. Maybe get him in next week TH

      TOPHAWK1 · 09/06/2020 at 20:06

Cheers NDD. If Naismith misses this week and Cameron plays and puts in a big effort, then I could consider grabbing Cameron next week and pass on Naismith. If Cameron spuds it up and/or Cox steals his thunder, then the Niasmith option is still there on the table. We can sit back, relax and watch to see how things unfold. One thing is for sure, Tim English is turning into Grundy this week. TH

    Russty_ · 09/06/2020 at 22:47

I was a Naismith owner, now I'm a Jacobs keeper lol, a 250k ruckman needs to be 100% to make us 250k, I might be able to get away with 2 or 3 trades this week…not gonna bring Cameron in unless he scores 150.

    Derek · 10/06/2020 at 02:03

Gives us a chance to look at Pittonet

      dontblushbaby · 10/06/2020 at 08:21

Jacobs down to Naismith next week is appealing

        derek · 10/06/2020 at 08:27

it will be interesting if pittonet has a good score this week. he might be in the discussion ahead of naismith, especially if naismith has an injury concern

Dean · 09/06/2020 at 20:46

    demonsdelights · 09/06/2020 at 21:23

As a dees fan I would not go Hibberd Rivers is close to getting a game and plays the same role As luck has it Hore has a bad injury so Hibberd may survive .Doedee a better pick NDD

derek · 10/06/2020 at 08:43

considering some midprice madness

Green to Brown
Sicily to Howe
Whitfield to Petracca
Cavarra to Wingard

one less rookie on the field

    demonsdelights · 10/06/2020 at 09:27

you will probably trade Whitfield back at some point

Choppers · 10/06/2020 at 11:22

Bennell to play Rd2….

    demonsdelights · 10/06/2020 at 13:48

Rivers and Jackson to debut also start of a new era maybe well done lads especially HARLEY .

      derek · 10/06/2020 at 14:38

3101 teams currently have Harley in their teams, lets see how many jump on board.

FLAGpies · 10/06/2020 at 11:42

Which lineup should i go for?? Basically its just Hurn and King (however that means 3 forward rookies on field) or Heeney and BZT (3 back rookies on field)
** if Zerk-Thatcher doesnt play i still have another trade, to swap him.

Hurn, Sicily, Houston Sicily, Houston, Docherty
Docherty, Noble, Starcevich> Noble, BZT, Starcevich
(Brander, Williams)(Brander, Williams)

Whitfield, Martin, Smith, Whitfield, Martin, Heeney
Sturt, Taylor, King > Smith, Sturt, Taylor
(Rankine/Georgiades/Cameron, Budarick) (King, Budarick)

Ando · 10/06/2020 at 16:44

Anyone else's aim to get Gawn in this week? Has a BE of 172 but could get it coming up against Pittonet. Then has Essendon and Geelong in the following weeks, whereas Jacobs has Goldstein, English, Grundy, Ceglar.

    Lekdog · 11/06/2020 at 10:50

I have him, you should try and get him
