Jock Reynolds Evolution 2 | Round 6 WRAP
Another exciting night at the JREL headquarters. Neither game was especially close, but there was still plenty of drama.
Tobias Green was suspended for three weeks for high contact, the only unfortunate soul out of about half a dozen blokes who could have been done for the same thing in a violent game full of high tackles. However, they say you reap what you sow and Toby Greene is certainly reaping a career’s worth of hard work clobbering people in the face with his shoes.
The Giants would run away with that game with a lot of solid contributions across the board, but the two big talking points came from Melbourne.
Firstly – Maxwell Gawn spent significant amounts of time on the pine, with very low game time despite being the most popular skipper in JREL’s short history. Even when on the ground was seen roving at times.
Secondly – Tom McDonald had a little mare in recording just the second JREL negative score. Tom finished with -4 points to his name, with one free against his only stat.
In the other game, Patrick Ambrose and Lance Franklin spent plenty of time in the ruck but neither could convert it into points as the Bombers – led by Kyle Landford off the bench – nabbed a comprehensive win over the Swans at their “fortress”.
Leaderboards will be updated some time on Tuesday so keep your eyes peeled for that ahead of a return to the JREL on Friday night.
