The Panic Room – Round 1

Published by Kev on

The Panic Room is back for 2020!

If this is your first time in the Panic Room, come on in everybody. No time to wipe your feet. Please keep 1.5m apart at all times and practice proper coughing and sneezing etiquette. This is a place full of my questionable SuperCoach wisdom and actual SuperCoach wisdom from people who know what they’re doing. It’s your one stop shop for articles posted throughout the week, team news, breakevens, references to a show 20 years past its prime, and maybe a bit of DFS when time permits.

We’ve added a few new writers in the offseason and it’s resulted in a huge amount of content. To keep it all in one place we’ve got a master post of SuperCoach tools, information, and team reveals (pre-apocalypse) for you to wrap your eyeballs around

We’re facing an unprecedented season where none of us know which direction is up. How many trades we’ll have, what the best strategy is, or even if we’ll manage to get through the season without interruption. My advice? Just do the best you can. Chuck the rule book out the window and back your gut. You do you, fam #yolo

** UPDATE **

It’s all about the rookies, so let’s see who we’ve got.

DEFENCE
Jarrod Brander (DEF/FWD) 133k – With nothing in the 117k or 123k categories, Brander is the only backline cheapie we’ve got. Unless you’re going midprice madness down back he should be a lock for all teams.
Fischer Mcasey 184,400k – Key position. Had 12 touches (3 marks) for 47SC in Marsh 2
Brandon Zerk-Thatcher 189k – Another key position. 104SC against Geelong in Marsh 1 is positive, but probably not the norm.
Zach Guthrie 190.1k – 59 and 84 across the Marsh series. Not the worst option
Caleb Graham 207.8k – Literally the first I’m hearing of this guy. Another key defender so just go Zerk or Mcasey
John Noble 215.4k – Preseason favourite looks pretty safe in Collingwood’s back 6

MIDFIELD
Connor Budarick (MID / FWD) 106.9k
Justin McInerney 123.9k
Tyler Brown 123.9k

Are all cheap and bench fodder.

Tom Green 166.8k – Strong preseason and should continue to see plenty of mid time with Jackson Hately named among the emergencies.
Noah Anderson 202.8k and Matt Rowell (207.3k) – Picks 1 & 2 will debut in round 1. Rowell is the better play here.

RUCK
With no byes and no need for a playing R3, go cheap as possible so you have a captains loophole. I suggest Matt Conroy (102.4k). Also there’s no cheap rookie rucks anyway

FORWARD
Ben Cavarra 123.9k
Max King 123.9k
Sam Sturt 123.9k
Ben Davis 123.9k
Mitch Georgiades 130.8k
Ryan Gardner 136.4k
Billy Frampton 165.4k
Tyson Stengle 202k
Lachie Schultz 208.8k

Never say the SuperCoach Gods don’t have a sense of humour. The forward line is the hottest ticket in town for rookies this year, but on the flipside forward rookies are the WORST. It will be tempting to “go where the rookies are” and save some cash on the line but be prepared for one hell of a rollercoaster if you go down this route

While this goes against everything the Panic Room stands for, but there’s no need to totally panic and freak out (yet). The rolling lockout is still a thing so you only need to sort out your Richmond and Carlton players today and we’ll see the rest of the teams for weekend tonight. Selection for tonight was pretty straightforward, Pickett (MID – $123.9k) is in and should be a lock on your bench or M8. Sam Docherty will play as expected and I reckon Dusty’s stocks have risen as we chase “impact” players. Jayden Short ($349.3k) gets a spot at half back after Houli picked up a calf strain the other day and could be an option . The Blues will have new recruits Jack Martin and Jack Newnes make their debuts for the side, but have been decimated at the top with Eddie Betts joining Charlie Curnow and Harry McKay on the injury list. Cheapie defender Tom Williamson ($146.3k) misses out.

Elsewhere we’ve got a few confirmed debuts, Tom Green (MID – $166.8k) and Tyler Brown (MID – $123.9k) will start for GWS and Collingwood, respectively. I’ll be back later tonight or in the morning to update with full team news for the weekend.

BREAKING:

Smooth Kevy’s Lock of the Week

He may be coming off a broken leg but I reckon Tom Mitchell needs to come under serious consideration for your side. Shorter quarters should help with his lack of match fitness and I don’t need to go into how easily this guy can rack up the possessions. The 3,300 rule will continue as normal which could result in higher scores for other point pigs like Neale, Macrae, and Fyfe to name a few.

That’s all for the moment, community. Jump in the comments with your questions, concerns, and current lineups and don’t forget to join Lek tonight from 5.30pm AEST as teams drop

So – the big question of the day…who does 16 min terms benefit?
Do we look at Nic Nat suddenly?
Do big bodied midfielders (Fyfe, Cripps) gain in value while runners (Whitfield, Gaff) drop?
Will midfielders who can score (McClug, Bont) be even better picks?

Love to hear your thoughts, community. I expect this could define the season.

    Jorg Ancrath · 19/03/2020 at 11:44

Also, the tag. Might be easier to go with a guy the whole game. So a guy like Neale who at times could be contained early on would come home with a wet sail and still bang out 120. Does he still do that?

      kinglear009 · 19/03/2020 at 12:51

Wow – that's a great point. You'd have to think it does mean the final quarter bullies don't quite clean up as much – the days of watching a Neale/Lloyd/Macrae save our skins in Q4 might not eventuate!

kinglear009 · 19/03/2020 at 11:46

Team is in full panic mode – jettisoning players and plans quicker than the flying paper towels at Woolworths.
But…I have the following team which is a 'in case of no good rookies' which is…innovative. It hinges on Jayden Short – who avg 90 in the Marsh and 85 in his last healthy season for just $340k. If he fails, Doedee is the recovery player.

B: Laird, Sicily, Doch, Short, Zerk, Starcevich (Watson, B. Williams)
M: Neale, Fyfe (or Crippa), Kelly, Danger, Oliver, Rowell, Greene, Pickett (Robertson, Mahony, Brown)
R: Grundy, Jacobs (Cameron) – Jacobs is too much like a cow to ignore
F: Whitfield, Martin, Brayshaw, Smith, Taylor, Brander (Budarick, King)

As few rookies as possible on field. If things get really dire…
Jacobs > Naismith
Zerk > Gould
King > J.Stevens
It's radical….but I actually don't hate it.

kinglear009 · 19/03/2020 at 11:48

One other thought – what's the strategy behind putting Naismith as R3, as I'm seeing a few teams moving towards?

    Stirlsy · 19/03/2020 at 12:29

I'd say the strategy behind it is to play 6 ultra premo's in the guts. But really its about point scoring, but if Naismith goes down early in rounds 1 or 2 yr in strife bigtime unless you carry a big wallet into the season. To much risk for me.

      kinglear009 · 19/03/2020 at 12:50

That would be the case if Naismith was your R2, and that's risky. This seems the opposite – paying for a very, very premium bench option essentially!

        Captain_Risky · 19/03/2020 at 13:52

I have gone Jacobs R2 and Naismith R3. I guess he's just an expensive rookie who should make +150K, whilst providing ruck cover. With 30 trades I felt I can do without Gawn, and with the potential short turnaround in games he's just insurance. I'm not sure it's logical to have so much on the bench, but I've gone for lots of value players elsewhere.

I didn't want Ceglar in the Fwd line, as there a plenty of better value options IMO..

This year will be like no other, so I thought I might as well throw logic out the window and do some experimenting!

John · 19/03/2020 at 11:58

Oliver and Deven Robertson ( or any other playing rookie)

or

McCluggage and Rowell

    Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 14:19

I'd go option 2..reckon McCluggs can ave 100 and Rowell is pretty special, should score well.

Maverick_ · 19/03/2020 at 14:02

I gave dusty his marching orders last night with no crowds present I thought he’d go missing too often he loves the big stage & the adrenaline with it but now SC have said it’s about impact players and not accumulators so now I am scrambling to get him back in before tonight. Gotta love this game

    Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 14:16

Yep it's a bit of Pandemonium at the moment Mav, may as well have just started doing our teams yesterday haha, I just re-arranged my whole deal.

      Maverick_ · 19/03/2020 at 16:32

Yeah I was very happy with my team 36 hours ago. Now it is almost unrecognisable ha
I think just I’ve got too keep it simple and not over think it. The season may not finish anyway!

    JesterJess · 20/03/2020 at 16:14

I traded Doc out for Dusty at the last minute. Im laughing and kicking myself. Hope you brought Dustino in

      Maverick_ · 21/03/2020 at 10:19

      Yup i went dusty!
Unfortunately I went bont & dunks though and passed on Macrae, oops. Whose the best option out of Davis, georgiadis & Sturt for my last forward spot?

TommyC99 · 19/03/2020 at 14:51

All of a sudden seeing a fair few fwd rookies debuting and not many defenders. Obviously have to wait till 6:25 for confirmation but at this stage fwd line looks like giving us more options. If this trend continues should we be rethinking going lighter in defense and bolstering our forward lines? Most of the preseason ive had Laird and Houston D1 and D2 but today i downgraded Houston to robbo, pushed Doch up to D2 which allowed me get an extra fwd premo (Dev smith F4). Just wanted to hear your thoughts community!

    Captain_Risky · 19/03/2020 at 14:59

Yes, seems the case- Pickett & Bedford, Georgiades, Sturt, King, Buderick and counting..

    We just need MID Rookies!!!

I don't have any forward rookies on field, might have to rethink, although the expensive def rookies look like better scorers with better job security.

Captain_Risky · 19/03/2020 at 15:02

Footy will provide a nice distraction tonight. I hope the shelves at Dan Murphy's aren't empty!

Maverick_ · 19/03/2020 at 16:49

Option 1 : Oliver + D.Martin

Option 2 : Macrae + petracca/macpherson at F2

Option 1 means I miss Macrae in my side but now accumulators aren’t priority looking more at blokes like dusty & bont who impact Games more so than 40 touches..

John · 19/03/2020 at 16:56

Tossing up between these two sides (main differences are Goldy instead of Gawn, Sicily instead of Lloyd, Macpherson instead of Smith and also adding Cogs), any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙂

DEF- Laird, Sicily, Docherty, Williams, Brander, Gould EMG: Watson, Mclennan
MID- Neale, Fyfe, Cripps, Dangerfield, Oliver, Cogs, Rowell, Pickett EMG: Hibberd, Brown, Robertson
RUC- Grundy, Goldstein EMG: Conroy
FWD- Whitfield, Martin, Smith, Taylor, Mahony, Budarick EMG: King, Sturt

$8.4k left

OR

DEF- Lloyd, Laird, Docherty, Zerk-Thatcher, Starcevich, Brander EMG: Watson, Gould
MID- Neale, Fyfe, Cripps, Dangerfield, Oliver, Rowell, Green, Pickett EMG: McHenry, Brown, Robertson
RUC- Grundy, Gawn EMG: Comben
FWD- Whitfield, Martin, Macpherson, Taylor, Mahony, Budarick EMG: Sturt, King

$200 left

Shake n bake · 19/03/2020 at 17:32

B – Laird, Docherty, Roberton, Zerk, Starcevich, Brander (Watson, Gould)
M – Neale, Fyfe, Cripps, Macrea, Cogs, Narkle, Rowell, Green (Mead, Pickett, Budarick)
R – Grundy, Gawn (Cameron)
F – Whitfield, Macpherson, Brayshaw, Smith, Rankine, Taylor (Comben, King)

4k left should I get rid of Gawn to Jacobs and upgrade somewhere else or just leave it

    The Ranger · 19/03/2020 at 20:01

I've gone mid-pricer heavy Shake so I'd say yeah but who knows mate, anything could happen!

      Shake n bake · 20/03/2020 at 10:37

Not my team Ranger this is a guy using my name.

    David · 19/03/2020 at 23:58

Unless you want a fwd donut in round 1 you need to some work on that team bro

Maverick_ · 19/03/2020 at 17:50

Since these rule changes why am I seeing less and less sides without Whitfield… is it because he’s not an impact player? You’d think whit will still out average the forwards by 10-15pts

    derek · 19/03/2020 at 18:22

more to do with unreliable rookies, and free up cash. Whitfield is very expensive

      Maverick_ · 19/03/2020 at 18:42

i tend to agree derek but don't want to miss out on those 120+ scores

        derek · 19/03/2020 at 19:00

        hasn't left my team

          Maverick_ · 19/03/2020 at 19:04

          thoughts on dussty derek?
          im not sold

            derek · 19/03/2020 at 19:23

locked in. Only because there isn't anyone else. I had heeney early, but he needs to show me more than he has.

i can't see any scenario where Dusty won't be top 6 forward. Get him now

TommyC99 · 19/03/2020 at 18:43

Lot of rookies extended bench. Nervous wait for tomorrow..

    JEL · 19/03/2020 at 18:57

I've got 3 on the extended bench, fingers crossed they get a gig.

derek nolan · 19/03/2020 at 18:59

Dan Butler. $234k

anyone interested?

    TommyC99 · 19/03/2020 at 19:00

Will he get enough mid time?

      Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 19:34

He's a small forward Tommy but will have some quiet games as they all do.

    hedski · 19/03/2020 at 19:16

Can't be worse than Bewley who has somehow crept into my team

    derek · 19/03/2020 at 19:18

    nah. forget i said anything.

    DavidV · 20/03/2020 at 00:51

Worked himself to the lofty heights of 234k after playing in a champion side… he's at st kilda now mate. Irrelevant player

Holty01 · 19/03/2020 at 19:09

No Lipinski. Well that hurts me.

    hedski · 19/03/2020 at 19:19

Hurts my draft team Holty, moved him to the bench and put Parfitt on and just realised he isn't named either.

      derek · 19/03/2020 at 19:24

i was snapping him up in Draft leagues very late

        hedski · 19/03/2020 at 19:30

I think I play you in Jocks JUNGLELAND this week Derek, good luck 👍
        Just traded Parfitt to Darling.

          derek · 19/03/2020 at 19:39

          good luck.

i just bought in Kreuzer to match up against the Tiger's rucks. i'll be watching him from behind the couch tonight

            The Ranger · 19/03/2020 at 20:05

            Uh oh Derek…

            Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 20:05

Just went down with an ankle, bad luck mate

            hedski · 19/03/2020 at 20:27

            Oh crap!!!
            Bad luck there mate.

              derek · 19/03/2020 at 20:49

yup. i traded out BigBoy for him

                Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 21:02

I'll trade you Nicnat or Lycett if you offer someone tasty in return Derek.

            EndoftheWorld · 19/03/2020 at 21:13

            Ouch

"I just want one injury free round of supercoach!"

            "No. Not one round."

TeeV · 19/03/2020 at 19:14

Spots left in this League if anyone is interested….196662

Yeahnah · 19/03/2020 at 19:15

Gawn + 123k rookie
or
Dusty and Naismith

My only dilemma..

EndoftheWorld · 19/03/2020 at 19:19

Who the heck is Tyler Brown and is he keeping someone's spot warm for a week or two?

    TommyC99 · 19/03/2020 at 19:23

Treloar and stevo both not playing is concerning for his JS

    Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 19:24

Son of Gavin Brown I think, played well in the Marsh

derek · 19/03/2020 at 19:19

no Steven. I'm going with Petracca. To make the cash, no Rowell at M6. 3 cheap rookies on the field in the guts. lord give me strength.

    Jorg Ancrath · 19/03/2020 at 19:23

I'm also not running Rowell. Also have Petracca. I won't even mention my rucks… Scary times.

    Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 19:33

Good luck without Rowell fellas, not a big deal this year though if he's going nuts early, just punt some else for him..plenty of trades this year!

      Jorg Ancrath · 19/03/2020 at 20:15

I'm going 7 premo deep in the mids, so will take Pickett 's score or rock in Green.

        Holty01 · 19/03/2020 at 20:35

Wow. Are they 7 ubers or some potential breakout hopefuls?

Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 19:23

Jeez I really thought Ash would've gotten the nod, looks like it's Cumming instead, just stuffed my def mid swing…I got rid of Ash and Starcevich..not convinced on Starcevich anyway.

    TommyC99 · 19/03/2020 at 19:25

Who'd ya replace them with russty?

      Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 19:27

Cumming and Mcinerny from Swans Tommy

I ended up going full Guns N Rookies in the mids too eventually.

        TommyC99 · 19/03/2020 at 19:48

Not concerned with Mcinerneys JS? very low TOG in marsh 2. Surprised he even got a game tbh

          Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 20:06

Nah not really, I'll just trade him out for someone who is playing haha

TommyC99 · 19/03/2020 at 19:23

Any spare leagues for me? Usually finish in the top 5k, was 2k couple of seasons back!

    TeeV · 19/03/2020 at 19:54

    Jump in Tommy…196662

Jorg Ancrath · 19/03/2020 at 20:43

Glad I went Doc. Looks very very good. Dusty loving the empty stadium, don't have him. Cripps vc looking questionable.

    derek · 19/03/2020 at 20:51

Cripps has to carry the whole team. i changed in the last hour and jumped on Titch. Cripps a great player, but his team is poor.

      Jorg Ancrath · 19/03/2020 at 20:57

Could be a great call Derek. Hopefully he bursts out of the gates after HT. I'm on Titch al also. Reckon he gets going like he never left. Ball magnet.

Billioux · 19/03/2020 at 20:58

Poor is very kind Derek, and i am rusted on navy blue. We could'nt hit a barn with a hand full of wheat. 🙁

    Billioux · 19/03/2020 at 22:23

    Yeah he was impressive

      The Ranger · 19/03/2020 at 22:33

McKay, McGovern, Betts, Curnow, Martin, Gibbons…handy fwd line if you can ever get them all on the park at the same time

NoLanguage96 · 19/03/2020 at 21:21

Jeez defensive rooks under 140k are thin….. Anyone apart from Tobe Watson??

    TRIGGA_HAPPY · 19/03/2020 at 21:34

    Williams May be

    Will know 2mrw night.

    Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 21:36

Williams, Gould(at some point), Brander, otherwise it's the more expensive guys.

    David · 19/03/2020 at 23:52

Not even Tobe bro. Check the afl site watson is an emerg

      NoLanguage96 · 19/03/2020 at 23:56

Yeah it's very slim pickings. Might have to just pick Gould and use him as the loophole doughnut

Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 21:54

God I hope the whole season isn't like this…feels like watching a 2's game or under 18 game for the lack of atmosphere, guess we should be grateful there's any footy at all. Blues are doing well I reckon considering they're up against the Tigers, nothing to be ashamed of there.

GreendaleFC · 19/03/2020 at 21:54

I think my team is just about locked in for the weekend. I have exactly $0 spare which makes me a bit nervous.

DEF: Laird, Sicily, Houston, Docherty, Roberton, Zerk-Thatcher, (Starcevic, Brander)

MID: Macrae, Neale, Dunkley, D.Smith, Rowell, Green, Pickett, McInerney, (Brown, Robertson, Budarick)

RUC: Grundy, Gawn, Comben

FOR: Whitfield, Martin, MacPherson, Petracca, Bedford, Cavarra, (Taylor, King)

    David · 19/03/2020 at 23:48

No way that squad is within the budget

      Derek · 20/03/2020 at 01:52

Only 3 Uber mids. Probably is in the salary cap. Most start 5 min

Derek · 19/03/2020 at 21:55

I posted earlier that Docherty would finish top 3 defender. He might end up even better.

First time I’ve ever owned him. He is good.

    Jorg Ancrath · 19/03/2020 at 22:11

I had doubts but the price was too good to ignore. He is still a gun.

    JEL · 19/03/2020 at 22:32

Was solid in my SC sides until his injuries, glad I jumped back on, though it's still early days.

    David · 19/03/2020 at 23:47

And before that you spent weeks telling everybody he was too much of a risk

      Derek · 20/03/2020 at 01:49

His Marsh 2 game was a ripper. Until then he wasn’t in my team

Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 21:56

Did anyone pick the human meatball this year?…he's a gun.

    Holty01 · 19/03/2020 at 22:07

I did have him but only for a short period of time as I felt he wouldn’t be top 12. He did look very good though

      Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 22:10

Yeah understandable Holty, he could be a late season pick if needing a pod replacement.

    TRIGGA_HAPPY · 19/03/2020 at 22:14

    Got him in draft

      Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 22:21

Yeah I got him in my other draft team too trig, also had Newman and Houli…lol

    David · 19/03/2020 at 23:45

Don't get too excited bro it's not they had AFL level opposition

      Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 11:22

I wouldn't pick him in my early regular season team, maybe later as a pod pick, he seems pretty reliable now after playing a full season last year.

    COREYSC · 20/03/2020 at 10:49

    Got Prestia in draft

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 19/03/2020 at 21:56

Has doch been out for 2 years?

Wouldn't know it!

    Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 21:57

He's all class Trig, just like riding a bike for him.

      TRIGGA_HAPPY · 19/03/2020 at 22:34

Just so clean with the pill

    David · 19/03/2020 at 23:44

10 minutes into the 1st quarter I swear I heard the palms slapping against the foreheads of the wally's that reckoned he was too much of a risk. They may as well pack up and go home I reckon

Jorg Ancrath · 19/03/2020 at 22:10

Crippa robbed.

    Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 22:37

Yeah Andy I was hoping for more, think he made a few errors in the last though, hope Grundy can dominate English now cause 112 doesn't feel like enough for the VC

      Jorg Ancrath · 19/03/2020 at 22:40

Yea few clangers. Do I go Fyfe or Neale as captain now?

        Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 23:02

Don't think Bombers or Hawks tag do they Jorg?…I'd go Fyfe cause I think he's less likely to get shut down.

      TRIGGA_HAPPY · 19/03/2020 at 22:47

English part of the hot diggity dogs

Gonna call it now reckon he will break even with Reg 2mrw.

        Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 23:03

Hope he goes ok for ya this year Trig, I gutted out but went with Saucey boy instead, just hope no Mummy interference now.

        David · 19/03/2020 at 23:40

Nah mate English will outscore that hasbeen Grundy by at least 20. Pittonet gave Reg a bath, wish I had him on the bench he'll play a lot now that the tractor has broken down again.

          Tibor · 21/03/2020 at 10:56

          Hmmm

    Tibor · 21/03/2020 at 10:55

He’s always been desperately unlucky. He was drafted by Carlton.

Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 22:24

KFC Supercoach stats / live scores non functional tonight…would've been nice to know in advance it wouldn't be working at all.

The Ranger · 19/03/2020 at 22:35

Pickett’s gonna be a rippa rookie

    dontblushbaby · 19/03/2020 at 22:47

Yep, and everyone has him , It will come down to how long you keep him for, some will trade him early and some will hold, with the proposed shortened season some will take the early cash imo

      hedski · 20/03/2020 at 12:04

Except for one bloke in my work league 🤣🤣

      Tibor · 21/03/2020 at 10:59

Good call. For those of us that only started with one of Gawn Grundy Picket is the fastest path to go Jacobs up to whichever top ruckman is missing…

    Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 23:00

    You're a rippa rookie

    Derek · 20/03/2020 at 01:45

I think he is Champion Data’s new pet love

Nick · 19/03/2020 at 22:47

Need some help with forward rookies. Who do we think has best job security and scoring potential out of Cavarra, Sturt, Bedford and Georgiades.
Thanks community!

    Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 22:59

No idea about those guys Nick..do you already have Brander, Budarick, Rankine, Taylor and King? Brander's named in the 22, Rankine would be if he wasn't slightly injured, King plays but probs doesn't score much..like Giorgediasasses

      Nick · 19/03/2020 at 23:12

Yep got all those guys except Rankine, will wait to trade him in once he’s on the bubble as I don’t trust his body. Agreed on king but I like his job security. But still need 1 more from the 4 I mentioned for my f8.

        Russty_ · 19/03/2020 at 23:19

Georgi probs has the best js at the moment I reckon.

    David · 19/03/2020 at 23:36

Billy Frampton mate named at CHF JS is secure as …..something thats really secure. Rankine slips a disc when he farts. He has heaps of talent but more fragile than Leks ego

David · 19/03/2020 at 23:33

A couple of Leagues with participants from last year that haven't responded to the email invite 664146 and 982351 Most teams in both have scored 455 after the Tigers training session against carlton. 10 and 11 spots available

    BJSO · 20/03/2020 at 01:19

    Game on

    Moose · 20/03/2020 at 17:54

    I'm in too

Dan · 19/03/2020 at 23:34

Going cold on the idea of having Dylan Roberton in the team. I was wondering if Cumming might be a better option? Or is his j/s uncertain?

    Therealsharkmove · 20/03/2020 at 01:17

Wouldn't his JS is great whilst Zac Williams isn't in the side. Still, if he plays well enough there's probably a spot for both. Riverton would also have to be careful of Carlisle

      Therealsharkmove · 20/03/2020 at 01:17

      *Roberton

    The Jinx · 20/03/2020 at 10:54

I'm in the same boat. I'm tinkering between Roberton or Noble, anyone knows how good Nobles JS is?

      The Ranger · 20/03/2020 at 11:36

I thought Quaynor would start the season ahead of Noble but it's not the case so he must be doing something the coaches like.

Derek · 20/03/2020 at 01:57

The most popular owned Defender, Midfielder and Forward all scored well tonight.

Everyone goes to bed happy

    dontblushbaby · 20/03/2020 at 11:45

    and Rookie aka M.Pickett

Whitey · 20/03/2020 at 07:38

With Kruezers injury does it give De Koning a shot or does Pinnonet come in for him. Any Carlton people out there know anything about them?

Cheers

    Teague Train · 20/03/2020 at 10:43

Pinnonet will get the nod, TDK is to young and if he gets a gig will play forward if anything

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 11:29

It's Pittonet and I reckon Naismith might be another option for around the same price…not sure who's better out of the 2

The Ranger · 20/03/2020 at 08:18

Hey NDD, how confident are you that Rivers gets a game soon?
Tempted to park him on the bench for loopholing and to save a later trade.

    The Ranger · 20/03/2020 at 09:48

Mid rookies are bloody thin on the ground too.

      Derek · 20/03/2020 at 13:18

      I like his DPP

      Perfect loophole

      The Ranger · 20/03/2020 at 13:28

Green and Pickett and then not much more

The Ranger · 20/03/2020 at 10:07

TMitch and Sturt or Clarry and K.Pickett?

    RazzleDazzle · 20/03/2020 at 10:26

    Titch and Sturt for mine

      The Ranger · 20/03/2020 at 17:06

      Still can't bloody decide.
Worried Titch will go down again or miss games if the fixture gets condensed.

Stacky23 · 20/03/2020 at 10:30

Team has changed so much over last few weeks but think ive settled on a lineup
Def: Laird Ryan Docherty Roberton Noble BZT (Starcevich, Williams)
Mid: Macrae Cripps Dunkley Bont Oliver Rowell Green Pickett (Brown, Robertson, Budarick)
Ruc: Grundy Nic Nat (Comben)
Fwd: Martin Rozee Brayshaw Smith Brander Taylor (King Sturt)
Got 111k left which could turn Rozee into Greene or someone but feel with almost two trades every week can afford to take the punt on players like him and Nic nat
Thoughts
Could also go rozee to whitfield if i go oliver to mccluggage

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 11:45

Good side Stacky..I had Cogs and McCluggage in my mids up until yesterday, then decided to eliminate that risk and go with Titch and Bont instead, rather than hope and see how McCluggs goes towards being a top premo, now I already know I've got 5 in there.
With almost unlimited trades this year, some experimenting can be done but you'll lose points waiting for the results on players like that, compared to other teams.
I would try to get Whitfield in there if you could…Dusty showed last night why it's good to start with a few good premos on each line.

    Derek · 20/03/2020 at 13:36

That is a lot of big doggies

COREYSC · 20/03/2020 at 10:38

If impact players are going to be better should we be taking guys like Fyfe/Bont over a Neale/Titch type player?

    The Jinx · 20/03/2020 at 10:43

I have 3 of those you mentioned, tossing if I should stay with Merrett as POD or go with Fyfe. Will depends on which rookies will play this weekend.

      COREYSC · 20/03/2020 at 10:50

Hmm I thinking on taking Fyfe over Neale

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 11:18

I don't think that means guys like Neale and Titch will score any less points for what they're already doing, I just think it means they'll go back to scoring extra points for acts that change games or change the lead or a winning goal on the siren etc, like they used to, and that depends on the scorer's opinions.
I remember once when they scored a winning goal on the siren 45 points…rdiculous.

      COREYSC · 20/03/2020 at 11:29

Well yeah Walters did that a few times last year!

        Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 11:35

They actually reduced the amount of points they award out of thin air in the last few years…too many people probably saying "WTF"?

    Derek · 20/03/2020 at 13:30

I reckon stitch will still go close to a 50 touch game at some stage this season

I’m looking at the scoring that everything is just 20% more than last year, still have 3300 points, but less time, disposals etc

A big number x20% gets bigger than a small number x20%

It will hurt the high TOG players. Hurn etc they just have less time relative to someone who would usually be off field for 5 mins a quarter to rest, they might not rest as much

Some rookies TOG might be very low

HallyMate · 20/03/2020 at 10:41

Does anyone know anything about Frampton’s job security?

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 11:23

Not sure mate but I hope for the people who have him that Frampton comes alive.

Stuck on options in a mid price team structure:

A) Robbo / Bont / Greene – 200k bank for correction trades
B) Laird / Bont / Macpherson – 5K bank
C) Howe / Bont / Greene – 30k bank
D) Crisp / Oliver / Greene – 10k bank

Hi Guys, when do head to head matches start for the 18 and 10 leagues ? Thanks

    hedski · 20/03/2020 at 14:36

Round one, matchups will come up at the completion of pies vs dogs.

Stupid Coach · 20/03/2020 at 13:10

Which of the following two options should I go with for my defence and foward line:

Option 1: DEF – Lloyd, Hurn, Docherty, Roberton, + 4 rookies
FWD – Whitfield, Dusty, D Smith, Brayshaw (Free)+ 4 rookies
Option 2: DEF – Lloyd, Houston/Crisp, Docherty, Roberton/Noble + 4 rookies
FWD – Whitfield, Dusty, Smith, Patton (Haw) + 4 rookies

    Derek · 20/03/2020 at 13:21

I like option 1 forwards and option 2 defence

    Is that possible?

      Stupid Coach · 20/03/2020 at 14:58

Thanks Derek. Yes, it is definitely possible and leaves me a bit in the salary to the point that I could even go Stewart, Laird or Sicily instead of Houston. Should I stick with Houston or upgrade to Stewart, Laird or Sicily instead.

        Derek · 20/03/2020 at 15:49

I’m actually starting with Laird, Sicily, Houston, Docherty

They will all be there abouts the same, but if I had to pick one it would be Laird. He has already been a top 6 defender, the other 2 still have to do it

I like Lloyd, but I can’t fit both Whitfield and Llloyd in

dontblushbaby · 20/03/2020 at 13:41

Is anyone putting in their team the likes of Rivers,Gould,Young ,Rankine who should get games ? I'm not suggesting all them though , thinking Rivers and or Rankine ?

    Derek · 20/03/2020 at 14:48

If Williams named he will be my R3, will need a loophole somewhere.

Rivers is DPP is handy. Maybe Rankine will play when ready.

    GreendaleFC · 20/03/2020 at 15:41

There's no real reason to suggest that Rivers will play early. He is not in the current team and Salem still needs to come back. Rankine could be a good option if you strongly dislike the job security of the forward rookies. When fit Rankine will be playing.

Derek · 20/03/2020 at 13:46

Ben Davis is getting a game for crows. $123k

How is his JS?

    BrownlowBoy · 20/03/2020 at 13:54

I'm going his mate Frampton instead. Crows literally don't have a ruck bar O'Brien. Frampton gonna have to give a chop out surely.

    hedski · 20/03/2020 at 14:38

Sloane was raving about him pre season Derek, not sure how he scores but I have him on the bench instead of King

Daniel · 20/03/2020 at 15:44

Just a thought community, I everyone should stick with their guts and not overthink it.
With the 30 trades, we essentially get 2 per week (16 rounds as we can change round 1 teams with the rolling lockout).
Premos can be altered almost every week if you wanted to. Need to keep our rookies longer to build up enough cash to bank and upgrade another.

Or am I crazy?

    Derek · 20/03/2020 at 16:19

You can’t plan for the injuries. In years I’ve done well it has been about avoiding injuries, more luck than anything.

Less weeks and same trades will help when there is that 1 or 2 week injury to a premium, but then you still have get them back in and next thing you know, no trades to paint fence

    The Ranger · 20/03/2020 at 17:04

I don't think you can plan at all Daniel!
My guess is that we won't get a 17 round season so I'm going after points early.
I've started with loads of stepping stone types and I'm hoping to upgrade them using the rookie cash asap e.g. as soon as Pickett makes 150K he's gone and Greenwood, who should at least hold his price, gets upgraded.
I don't think there'll be a shortage of rookies if they start condensing the fixture.
It's all guesswork this season tho eh?

Tibor · 20/03/2020 at 16:07

Certainly we have plenty of trades. I still wouldn’t just dump a premo on the basis of one bad outing unless there is an injury or they are about to lose a big whack of value. That’s probably the main difference if we don’t like the look of someone break even, out they go with no hesitation

Bucketaters · 20/03/2020 at 16:32

option 1: mcasey (D6) and Viney (M6)
Option 2: Sicily (D1) and rivers (bench) and would allow me to get picketts score

    hedski · 20/03/2020 at 16:42

Option 2, if you have Budarick fwd I'd look at Mahony (roos $117k m/f) instead, should get a game soon (maybe)

      Bucketaters · 20/03/2020 at 16:50

im considering rivers mahony robertson starcevich etc for that bench mid spot.

also i can pick any defender besides houston, doch, robertson as ive got naismith at r2.

im thinking laird, sicily or smith.

        hedski · 20/03/2020 at 17:18

Starc is the only one playing out of those 4 you mentioned, if you want the loophole I reckon Mahony so you can swing Budda.
I have Laird and Sicily D1&2.

          Bucketaters · 20/03/2020 at 17:22

mahony it is then, ive been bullish on sicily all preseason but last couple days brodie smith has been tempting since he will be mid but ill stick to my guns with sicily. cheers hedski

      Moose · 20/03/2020 at 17:39

Would you look at Deven Robertson, or is he more risky at Brisbane – might be harder for him to break into the team

        Bucketaters · 20/03/2020 at 17:44

i feel robertson is easily the better player but as you said, his JS will be pretty and his scoring potential may be limited as well so for now i think mahony is a good bet as he is dpp, plus north will blood young players.

hedski · 20/03/2020 at 16:43

Is 126 from Dusty enough to lock in for captain.
It's right on the cusp and I'm wondering if you need to take a chance first round.

    The Ranger · 20/03/2020 at 16:57

I'm not taking it. 130 is my cut off point.
Started that last season and it worked more often than not.

    G.C. · 20/03/2020 at 17:28

Same amount of points per game allocated this season, same as any other season, even with the short quarters. If you took 126 as VC last season, lock it in, if you didn't, roll the dice. Don't try and overthink it too much. Keep it simple, enjoy your Friday night.

Ben Cavarra or Ben Davis? Don't know who has better job security

    hedski · 20/03/2020 at 17:49

Good question, I have both on the bench, E on Cavarra, if he scores well I'll sacrifice Davis for a Patsy to get his score.

      James · 20/03/2020 at 18:09

You reckon it'd be better to have Cavarra over King?

        hedski · 20/03/2020 at 18:14

Yeah mature ager made to wait all last year.
Small fwd vs key fwd so both could score crap, I like Cavarra for the early game to loop, can always swap next week.

hedski · 20/03/2020 at 17:23

I have Neale at M1 but am thinking of dropping him to Bont as more of an impact player and to leave @$50k in the kitty for corrections or to kickstart upgrades, rest of the team is settled.
Yay or Nay?

Spanner · 20/03/2020 at 18:04

What rookies is everyone going with? Currently I have:
Def: BZT, Brander, ?,?
Mid: Rowell, Green, Pickett, Starcevich ?,?
Ruc: Cameron
Fwd: Taylor, Budarick, Sturt, ?

    hedski · 20/03/2020 at 18:21

    Def:Noble, Bzerk, Brander, Starc, Williams.
Mid:Rowell, Green, Picket, Brown, McInerny, Robertson.
    Ruck:Conroy.
    Fwd:Taylor, Budarick, Cavarra, Davis.
I was just looking at ownership % of these, a lot are only at 20-40%, how the hell are people gonna make cash with the likes of Gould, Bianco, Rivers etc on their benches?

      Defying_Madness · 20/03/2020 at 18:27

Robertson and Williams don't seem to be playing. Any plans?

        hedski · 20/03/2020 at 18:38

Cavarra or davis please

Northerner · 20/03/2020 at 18:47

With 30 trades in 16 tradable weeks it would add more if they allowed us 3 trades each week. Will sort a few out who waste them.

    hedski · 20/03/2020 at 19:07

They are talking about adding even more trades or more than 2 allowed per round possibly if they start playing games every 5 days or have a supplementary draft Northerner.

COREYSC · 20/03/2020 at 18:52

And upgrade Brayshaw to a Petracca or McPherson type or just hold Houston and keep Brayshaw and have two non player def rooks on the bench?

Zach Guthrie is playing boys, we have no chance.

            COREYSC · 21/03/2020 at 11:38

That kid is not ready for AFL he gets pushed around like an empty cardboard box in one on one contests

Ando · 20/03/2020 at 18:57

What FWD rookies are we going for community?

    Lazza · 20/03/2020 at 19:02

Taylor, Bedford, Cavarra, Pickett, and Rankine as a saver/loophole

      Ando · 20/03/2020 at 19:04

Cheers Lazza. They all got decent JS?

        derek · 20/03/2020 at 19:06

not sure about Bedford and Pickett's JS

          Ando · 20/03/2020 at 19:09

          Cheers Derek. How about Georgiades?

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 20:50

Cavarra looks a bit duddy, may as well have kept King or Davis..I also have Brander, Taylor and Rankine

Northerner · 20/03/2020 at 18:58

Rookies are bloody thin. I’ve managed to squeeze playing rookies in all bench spots bar R3, but it does mean a lot of cash on Defensive bench – Starcevich and BZT. I figure a price rise after 2 rounds will help and hopefully rookie upgrades arrive to liberate the cash.

Decided to go Naismith at R2 as he’s another form of rare cash generation. I only contemplated it as either Pittonett or De Koning will come in for Kruezer, and both can be a trade in if Naismith cops an injury.

Strange times.

    derek · 20/03/2020 at 19:08

Starcevich and Brander should be the ones on your defense bench

i'm going to start with Rivers in the guts, so i can swing Starcevich into the mids

JesterJess · 20/03/2020 at 19:00

Who to captain? Grundy, Dunkley, Kelly or Titch?

    Lekdog · 20/03/2020 at 19:02

    Grundy probably

    COREYSC · 20/03/2020 at 19:07

    Grundy

Ando · 20/03/2020 at 19:12

Which rookie is more likely to get a game soon? Watson or Williams? Not sold on going for Mcasey or Guthrie at their elevated price.

    COREYSC · 20/03/2020 at 19:30

Well as soon as Nic Nat gets injured B.Williams will be locked in

      Ando · 20/03/2020 at 19:32

      Cheers Corey

BlueBaggerJosh · 20/03/2020 at 19:13

Are yeo and Oliver ok, underpriced picks at M4 and M5?

    COREYSC · 20/03/2020 at 19:30

Yeah I like both of those guys big upside

COREYSC · 20/03/2020 at 19:14

Do we change our structure to get Noble in? Means I’m running with Sicily, Docherty, Roberton, Noble then Starcevich and Brander

The Jinx · 20/03/2020 at 19:16

I give up. Team has changed so many times in the past 24hrs. I think I'm just gonna go with this, a couple of PODs and couple of Risks.
Sinclair not getting a gig might a good sign Naismith might be the #1 Ruck for the swans. Hoping he'll ave 80-90 and make some decent cash.

Dropped Roberton and Noble there's just so many question marks around them. Yep! NO Rowell, we have a few Rookies in the guts than can score and make us some cash, so I picked Scultz over Rowell, cant trust the Rookies JS and scoring up fwd.

Laird, Sicily, Houston
Doc, Bzerk, Brander
Starcevic, Williams

Neale, Fyfe, Cripps, Titch
The Bont, Green, Pickett, McInerney
Brown, Rivers, Buderick

Grundy, Naismith Comben

Whitfield, Gresham, Brayshaw
Smith, Schultz, Taylor
Davis, King

53K in the bank

May the Supercoach Gods help me and gimme a bit of luck. And good luck to ya all.

    Derek · 20/03/2020 at 19:48

I really like the Gresham pick

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 20:08

Turned out allright Jinxy..just gotta hope Naismith doesn't go all spudly on ya, the rest of it's all a nice job…that being said…Noble is going ok

      The Jinx · 20/03/2020 at 23:17

Hope so Russty, all I need is Naismith string few good score in a row and hope for Gawn to be ordinary and go down in price.

Noble did ok just worried with his JS, with Crisp and Howe at the backline worried me. What happens when Trealor comes back in will he pushing in the guts.

TommyC99 · 20/03/2020 at 19:17

Currently running Cavarra and Taylor as fwd rookies. Which are the next best options?

    COREYSC · 20/03/2020 at 19:29

Well I have Sturt and Rankine

    DavidC · 20/03/2020 at 19:32

Budarick maybe, Taylor is the only one I trust.

TommyC99 · 20/03/2020 at 19:19

So I’ve had a light def all week thinking def rookies would be present (Robbo D3), which allowed me to get the extra fwd premo in trac. Due to the influx of fwd rookies should I bring Houston back into the def, and put in the extra fwd rookie? While their is a lot of playing fwd rookies heir scoring potential and JS is a little suss. What are you thoughts community?

    Derek · 20/03/2020 at 19:45

I have Robo at D6 now with 2 rookies (on bench)

And Devon at F3 with 5 rookies (2 on bench)

    I’d go deep in defence

Gibbs · 20/03/2020 at 19:25

Fisher McAsey or BZT? BZT job security worries me a bit

    COREYSC · 20/03/2020 at 19:27

    BZT

      Dyno Mite · 20/03/2020 at 19:36

hooker is back soon and he'l get the boot

Tommo · 20/03/2020 at 19:28

Thoughts on Isaac Cumming?
Have the funds for him and not sure who else to pick as rookie ish priced players in defence. No one else playing

Would mean I would have Noble Zerk and Cumming
Thanks

    Tommo · 20/03/2020 at 19:33

Or go with Watson although he’s not playing

Def: Laird Ryan Docherty Noble Zerk Starc (Brander, ?)

      The Jinx · 20/03/2020 at 19:39

I've gone with Williams hopefully he'll get games later on. He's also handy for this round, put Starcevic on the bench and slap the E on him. WCE plays the last game of the round.

    Derek · 20/03/2020 at 19:42

I’ve got about $300k to spend now Steven isn’t playing

Can use cash in def as well

Was having a good look at Lukosius for about $275k DPP

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 20:17

That's who I went with Tom…Robbo out and Cumming in, is Cumming a trap with his 2 good Marsh scores?…maybe, but with 30 trades we can afford some mistakes this season.

Pranav · 20/03/2020 at 19:41

Who are the must haves for tonight? And who are the popular players for tonight?

Jorg Ancrath · 20/03/2020 at 19:46

I've never been so unsure. Still tinkering around with minutes to go. Oh well, gonna be interesting at least.

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 20:08

haha I just traded half a dozen guys in and out 10 mins before the bounce.

      Jorg Ancrath · 20/03/2020 at 20:19

Same. Brought Grundy in last minute. Haha.

        Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 20:21

Good call bud!…you need at least one of the big 2

Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 20:19

T.Brown looking all right..keep it going young gun

Lazza · 20/03/2020 at 20:32

Not a big fan of the shorter quarters .. leaves little time to overcome the umpire influence.
Goals from “almost” free kicks last night and tonight are ridiculous..

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 20:52

Same Lazza, I wish they were still normal length games, season will probs get cut short anyhoo…if not from the virus then from the AFL losing too much money.

    Jed · 21/03/2020 at 10:47

The umpiring was terrible. Not worth getting to upset can’t see the season going much further. They are saying as soon as someone gets IT, the season will shut down. All it takes is for some emergency boundary umpire to sneeze and it’s all over. Just a new way for umpires to ruin the game

Jorg Ancrath · 20/03/2020 at 20:55

I hope no one in the community went for English. Gee he's awful. I mean, it's Grundy, but c'mon man.

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 20:57

I almost did, went for Jacobs in the end, I'll probably regret that just as much.

      Jorg Ancrath · 20/03/2020 at 21:01

      I have the gun, Naismith!

    Derek · 20/03/2020 at 22:38

Even cox was beating him in the ruck

      Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 23:00

Cox not completely flubbing it means Cameron probably doesn't get a look in.

cash_cows · 20/03/2020 at 20:55

what a champion.
Grundy already brought up the ton.

Holty01 · 20/03/2020 at 21:07

I’ve been with Derek all this preseason assuring people the rookies will come just like every other year. Damn, what a horrendous selection of rookies we have to select from.

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 21:19

Yeah they come, doesn't mean they're any good though lol

    Derek · 20/03/2020 at 22:36

They are there, just not very good or a bit expensive

TBone_9 · 20/03/2020 at 21:41

Hmm Crisp looking no good, it looks like others have taken over his role. J. Howe looking very interesting though…

    dontblushbaby · 20/03/2020 at 21:49

    Noble

Jack · 20/03/2020 at 21:58

J Howe what a selection!

dontblushbaby · 20/03/2020 at 22:09

Glad i didn't go Bont or Dunks , but went Macrae , very disappointing were the Dogs , I was expecting top 4 this year , still could

    DavidC · 21/03/2020 at 07:56

Luck of the draw, I had both Bont and Dunks at times in preseason but settled on Macrae. Only negative is I had the VC on Macrae instead of Grundy. Now need Neale to match him.

Jorg Ancrath · 20/03/2020 at 22:12

First rage trade…Crisp. well I was warned. Watch Houston bang out a big ton to completely screw me over.

Also, Dogs midfield got no service. Not super concerned, won't face Grundy every week.

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 23:10

Crisp smashed the 2 Marsh games too…looked like a powerhouse, then again so did MacPherson and Cumming…I have Cumming uh oh, Noble pretty much scored his marsh average 75 odd.

hedski · 20/03/2020 at 22:21

Took Dustys vc instead of having a crack at Grundy but that's all good, Dunks a bit (understatement) disappointing but he should get better.
Glad I held onto Neale and didn't trade him for Bont before the game.
Bring on the cats v giants.

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 23:08

Yeah Hed Bont very disappointing, but it's a strange game now, maybe that affected them?..Dusty's 126 was a good VC score, didn't really expect Grunda to go so huge, bonus for those of us who did have him, just means you gotta play a bit of catchup…Bont will come good as will the Doggies, but shorter season means we need all the freakin points we can get and now.
Anyways, it's all a bit of fun lol

Daniel · 20/03/2020 at 22:23

Which way is better to get Grundys score as captain, bring in a non playing defender like b.williams or gould and make one of them C, with branders score to come from the bench, or move budarick to my fwd line, bring in deven robertson and make him C, getting tyler browns 64 from my bench? Or do i get as many playing this week as possible and keep the C on neale or fyfe?

    Derek · 20/03/2020 at 22:32

    Who is your R3

      Daniel · 20/03/2020 at 23:28

      Darcy Cameron

        Derek · 21/03/2020 at 12:27

Good back up if Grundy goes down but Not a good guy to have as your loophole. He should have been on your forward line with another DPP at R3

    Moose · 20/03/2020 at 22:36

Points are king, especially when the extra rookie playing may not be there next week. Choose whichever of Robertson, Gould and Williams you think is more likely to play. Robertson is trying to break into a strong team, Williams might be waiting for NicNat injury, so maybe Gould is the pick. Another option is Mahony in Fwd or Mid. North a bit weaker, so maybe more of a chance.

    Russty_ · 20/03/2020 at 23:05

Just put the C on a non player with the E on a player, do not put the C on anyone else playing, you can't miss out on Grundy's score.

Derek · 20/03/2020 at 22:34

Im actually surprised he got as much as he did

Tough decisions to be made now

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 20/03/2020 at 23:58

Just got home from a night out.

What the hell happened dogs?
35 points at Marvel. WTF??

UGLY! As I took a chance and based my team on doggies and early draw.

So got English – looks like Grundy gave him a touch up. But had the VC on Grundy with the E on English.

Starting English allowed me to go COGS at M6 and add Neale.

So what do we think?

Neale and COGS and English.

Or Trade Comben to Nic Nat and trade COGS to Roberston who should play next week?

Unlimited trades helps Rd1.
I had the E on Pickett so will get his 94 for Roberston.

Reckon COGS will crush it so torn on what is best.

What do u guys think?

Neale, COGS and English
Or
Neale, Pickett and Nic Nat?
Or
COGS, Pickett and Nic Nat.

    DavidC · 21/03/2020 at 07:52

Robertson no guarantee to play next week, Brissy make minimal changes expecially after a win.

Billioux · 21/03/2020 at 01:35

Well done to those with Grundy as skipper. Last min league, if any want. 576331. Cheers

Dan · 21/03/2020 at 08:25

Loved Grundy's tap work last night, the Pies had clearly worked on the connection between him and the midfielders. Looks like he's going to have another good year in SC.

Frank · 21/03/2020 at 09:45

Bedford, Sturt or Georgiades?

Think all have poor JS and won’t score a whole lot. I’m thinking Bedford because he didn’t play preseason so might have higher scoring potential than we think.

Feedback appreciated!

    Stupid Coach · 21/03/2020 at 10:11

I have the same dilemma Frank and have both Georgiades and Sturt in my team but not confident about the latter as I don't know how he has been going so I have him on the bench. I have seriously thought about Bedford as I think Melbourne will be trying new players in the hope of starting this season better than they finished the last season, however, I am unsure of his job security beyond round 1.

    The Ranger · 21/03/2020 at 12:59

I went with Sturt cos I think his JS is slightly better than the other two.

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 13:11

There's also Davis, scored better than Sturt in the Marsh, Sturt scored terribly.

      Derek · 21/03/2020 at 13:17

I think I’ll go Davis ahead of Sturt

COREYSC · 21/03/2020 at 10:03

Sturt or Davis to partner C.Taylor on field?
Should we start Rankine on the bench anyone have any eta on his injury?

    Tony · 21/03/2020 at 10:09

We have enough trades that there’s no need to start rankine. Not sure when he’ll play though.

I’d start Davis only because I think Adelaide are more likely to win than freo.

Stupid Coach · 21/03/2020 at 10:17

I have currently five on playing rookies (all on the bench) and using Xerri from North as R3 and Captain as I put the VC on Grundy. However, I just want to know if it is too risky to have one (or the case of the defence – two) non playing rookies or should I just replace them with rookies that are playing. The non playing rookies that i currently have (in addition to Xerri) are Watson, Gould, Robertson and Rankine.

Appreciate any thoughts/advice. Thanks Community

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 12:28

Not much choice in defence really, but I think getting maximum playing rookies onfield might be the go, you don't make money from dead bench wood, and with extra trades this year you can bring them in as they prove they're worth it.

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 12:33

I think you have to take the cash generation.

Players increase after 2 rounds this year, so there is more cash to be made

I have my R3, but I’m going with Rivers in midfield. He has DPP and can swing with Starcrvich in case I need to loop a rookie in defence or midfield

    The Ranger · 21/03/2020 at 12:56

Depends on whether you think those rookies will get games soon.
I have Cameron, Robertson, Rivers and Maloney all not playing but I think they'll get a game sooner rather than later.
And Rivers and Maloney give me swing sets.

BrownlowBoy · 21/03/2020 at 10:24

Picking Dunkley and Bont was a masterstroke at this point. Lucky it's a long season.

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 12:37

Grundy would tap the ball to them

English shouldn’t get smashed like that again

He has Carlton next week without Kruezer

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 12:45

The bounceback will be big Tom..you'll just start off a bit behind the 8-ball..I had Bont too, but not Dunks, both good picks though.

    Locked and Loaded · 21/03/2020 at 12:52

Not that long this year mate! The boys gotta turn it around quickly

Maverick_ · 21/03/2020 at 10:31

Getting cold feet on my F3. Currently running ceglar purely for cover for Jacobs I don’t think sauce can back up short turn arounds if they play 2 games a week but thinking petracca might be better avg than ceglar?? I haven’t been burnt by trac before so thinking he’s due to breakout And pure mid now according to Gawn … oh god

    TBone_9 · 21/03/2020 at 11:48

Gday Mav! Hmm it’s a tough one isn’t it. I’ve started Ceglar at F3 too because I’m running Naismith at R2 so I’m happy with him there. A fwd listed player playing ruck is valuable as cover, but if you think Trac playing full time mid scores higher, pick him up mate 🙂

      Maverick_ · 21/03/2020 at 12:26

      Thanks for the reply TBone.
Yeah it’s tricky I’m Even Considering going Jacobs down too Naismith for that extra $$$ but the midfield at sauces feet is unreal.. I think I better keep ceglar I guess I’ll be gutted when my R2 is rested and I cop a donut

Pablo · 21/03/2020 at 10:40

How long before total footy shut down. Has to be the most farcical Coronavirus management in the world. We all touch the footy. Tackles are fine, blokes laying on the ground on top of each other is fine. As long as we don’t high five after goals and we stand 1.5 metres apart when we sing the song before all jumping in the same showers ice baths etc we should be ok.

    Rocksta_ · 21/03/2020 at 13:03

    Fair call Pablo.
Hopefully it doesn’t get shut down though

gator59 · 21/03/2020 at 11:58

A silly question but can we still change our sides today without losing any trades.. Or has the round been totally locked out

    hedski · 21/03/2020 at 12:06

Yeah all good Gator, teams get locked out as each game starts, unlimited trades until the last game starts Sunday arvo.

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 12:09

Yeh mate i already changed it 10 times today

      gator59 · 21/03/2020 at 13:15

      Thanks Hedski and Russty

Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 12:23

Hey guys, wondering what your opinions are on this….
Better to keep a tactical donut like McQuillan to flip Brander back and forward or just keep Williams and Gould in the backline for if or when they get a start?
I'm not sure DPP's are all that important now with all the extra trades this year…what do you think?…cheers

    cash_cows · 21/03/2020 at 12:27

Is brander gonna get permanent game time?
I don't think the DDP is that worth given we get more trades.
With prices going up after 1 game, might be a different mind game this season.

i went 1 premo too light down back so I'm gonna have to keep gould and bwilliams.
Luckily I'm using gould as loophole for grundy.
    Hope these rookies play.

      Northerner · 22/03/2020 at 10:49

I’d be very surprised if B Williams gets regular time. With shortened quarters Allen will play ruck forward when he’s fit.

    COREYSC · 21/03/2020 at 12:58

I’ve got Gould and Bailey Williams on my bench for now I think both of them will get a game just a matter of how soon, Nic Nat only has to have one rest and Williams is in and Gould was impressive should force his way in at some stage

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 13:33

Remember there is a price increase after 2 games, not 3.

You need the rookies who are playing to make cash, extra trades let you dump them once they are dumped.

I’m going with Rivers in guts, swing with Starcevich, allows for rookie loopholing in two lines

    Take the cash increase mate

Locked and Loaded · 21/03/2020 at 12:54

Cumming or Roberton?

Thanks gents

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 13:40

I’m a fan of fallen premiums over breakouts

Robertson was almost premium a couple of years ago. Will depend on where he and Hill plays

      Locked and Loaded · 21/03/2020 at 14:01

Thanks Derek – had a little one recently so haven’t had the time to look through it in detail appreciate the advice. I’ve always liked Roberton and hopefully he plays the season through with no health setbacks

Jimmy · 21/03/2020 at 13:05

Cummings JS Any good ?
Might need to consider him with no def rookies already have Starcevich BZT & brander

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 13:26

Not sure about his JS Jimmy but I'm hoping he scores like in the Marsh games and he'll stay for sure. I had Robbo for ages but decided he was too risky.

Jimmy · 21/03/2020 at 13:06

Ceglar or petracca for most season points?

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 13:25

Tracca I think cause the Hawks rucks aren't set in stone

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 13:43

Petracca by a long way for season

Ceglar will score ok if he stays first ruck, but that might be 3 rounds.

Besides round 3, ceglars first 5 games are nice

hedski · 21/03/2020 at 13:11

So I had the vc on Dusty and didn't give Grundy the Captain gig.
Do I take the 126 or give one of Cogs/Whitfield/Neale a crack?
I think plenty would have had Grundy so might need to try and make a few points up.

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 13:18

I reckon Neale Hed, as long as you think he won't get tagged.

    derek · 21/03/2020 at 14:10

i'm going with C on Cogs. cats don't tag, they will let Cogs do what he wants

for some reason i thought Doggies would be good and Macrae would score 178 like last time.

I'm not sure about Neale. If it was at home id say yep. Shiels has done a reasonable job on Neale before

    hedski · 21/03/2020 at 14:46

Cheers fellas I'll have a think over the next couple of hours

TommyC99 · 21/03/2020 at 13:13

Which 2 out of Sturt, davis and king?

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 13:24

Davis and King I reckon, Davis scored better than Sturt and King has JS, even though he'll be up and down.

      TommyC99 · 21/03/2020 at 13:30

      Thanks for the reply russty!

Got another dilemma i need your help with. With the lack of Def rookies, should i drop trac and bring in Houston which would give mme 2 playing def in Brander and Starcevich on the pine? Or Keep trac and Dev at F3/F4 and have Gould on my def bench for when he gets named? Fwd line is where all the playing rooks are at but they usually never score well, hence why i've gone heavy in th fwd line atm. Would love your thoughts mate!

        Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 13:36

I'd probably leave it mate, I'd want Brander on field and I believe Gould will get a run soon, Starcevich I'm not sure of but any playing def rooks are a bonus, I just can't afford him, I mean I could but I'd have to drop Zerk or Cumming and I'd rather keep them.
Next few weeks are for corrections mate so plenty of trades to do that with.

          TommyC99 · 21/03/2020 at 13:39

          Thanks mate! Appreciate it

            derek · 21/03/2020 at 14:06

i have Robertson at D6. don't believe in no bench cover

        Finnius · 21/03/2020 at 14:06

I agree I am holding Gould at D8. I've got all the rookies I can and still one short – Gould gets a game soon I reckon and you don't want to change your whole team over this weekend.

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 13:44

I like Davis and Kings JS

    Freo have a few out

Josh · 21/03/2020 at 13:17

Should I go
1. Gawn, Greene, McInerney
2. Jacobs, D Smith, Dangerfield

Maverick_ · 21/03/2020 at 13:21

Pick 2 please ..

Brayshaw, ceglar & tracca

Can’t wait for everyone to play so I can stop fiddling lol

    TommyC99 · 21/03/2020 at 13:40

Brayshaw and Trac for mine, although if you had a risky R2 id consider Ceglar ahead of Brayshaw

Dan · 21/03/2020 at 13:29

Sicily or Luke Ryan? I can't make up my mind between them.

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 13:37

Sicily is cheaper and better to watch when in form, and hopefully his floggy days are behind him now.

      Dan · 21/03/2020 at 13:46

Thanks Russty. They're good points, I've locked in Sicily.

        COREYSC · 21/03/2020 at 14:39

Yeah I’d take Sicily too, he’s my D1 haha

          Dan · 21/03/2020 at 16:15

Looks like I dodged a bullet by not having Ryan,,,

TommyC99 · 21/03/2020 at 13:54

So ive currently got Dev robertson on my mid bench. Other than Rowell, Green, J Mac and Buderick, is there anyone im missing? Or should i just hold him and hope he plays early?

    Finnius · 21/03/2020 at 14:03

McInerney from Swans has been named.

      TommyC99 · 21/03/2020 at 14:08

      Yeah mate got him

Hayden · 21/03/2020 at 14:02

Getting Cold feet on dev smith..

    Finnius · 21/03/2020 at 14:03

Too late now I reckon – don't make any changes ten minutes before the bounce it will ruin your season.

      Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 15:26

Good advice Finn, sounds like crazyness to me, Dev is a gun bargain this year.

Rooboy · 21/03/2020 at 14:12

With rule changes and game time shortened are brodie smith & Houston worth a look more so than your intercept types like sicily?

I am so tempted by brodie

    COREYSC · 21/03/2020 at 14:40

Haha me too I actually got Brodie Smith in draft so I’ll be keep a keen eye on him;)

Rocksta_ · 21/03/2020 at 14:59

Glad I didn’t take Brayshaw. Never convinced by him

    COREYSC · 21/03/2020 at 15:10

Yeah I’ll be turning him to Steven by next week

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 15:12

Yeah bugger that!..jeez Dev Smith, Townsend and Bewley looking good, Margaret Zerk Thatcher needs to pick it up a bit.

      hedski · 21/03/2020 at 15:15

Had Bewley in my team yesterday but changed him to Long…

        Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 15:17

Would've been a big leg up mate, hope Long does similar for you.

      Derek · 21/03/2020 at 15:50

I wanted to see Townsend get midfield time. Took him out last hour

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 15:38

62% tog so far, if that's gonna be the case going forward he's a dud pick and needs to go

Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 15:16

Hey Col Gator..was wondering what's up with Jock's Jungleland Draft mate, I'm playing Tophawks and he has 8 players on his bench…(26 players total) what the effing f's up with that

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 15:55

A couple of others have 5 on bench.

Must have something to do with being a keeper league, we were suppose to have dropped some before the draft, keep only 12 from last year.

We have to sort it out for next round

      Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 15:59

Yeah for sure mate cause it's hardly fair at the moment…how is it even possible when it's a 22 player team, maybe some kind of glitch?

Derek · 21/03/2020 at 16:03

If you watch live scoring, there are some serious scaling done at the end of each quarter to catch up to the total 3300 allocation.

Obviously the guys on higher scores get the big bump. Shield bumped from 104 to 120 at 3/4 time, Townsend from 80 to 99.

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 16:10

Yeah I noticed that Derek, so they haven't actually altered the points scoring for each act, they're just whacking more random points on their totals at each break…sometimes spread evenly, sometimes not.

      COREYSC · 21/03/2020 at 16:26

      Shiel 170 now!!!!

        Derek · 21/03/2020 at 16:42

        Sturt tonns up

          red5 · 21/03/2020 at 19:03

          Nice score for a rookie

Derek · 21/03/2020 at 16:06

The TOG for Bailey is not good

The shorter quarters will see the Uber’s play more and the lesser mids play less

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 16:07

    I meant Brayshaw

      Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 16:33

Coach seems to be keeping him off on purpose, does he want him to develop or not?

        Derek · 21/03/2020 at 18:15

Same happening to Rowbottom, very low TOG while the A graders play

Holty01 · 21/03/2020 at 16:21

Brayshaw 🤦🏼‍♂️

COREYSC · 21/03/2020 at 16:27

Brayshaw trash, decided on Davis over Sturt as well😂 we’ll see how that pans out by Sturt looked good

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 16:34

I can see a lot of people who had Sturt in their bench put Rankine in now

      COREYSC · 21/03/2020 at 16:42

Yeah such a shame I went Rankine to Davis and Sturt to Bedford but it’s not over yet we’ll see how it pans out

        Derek · 21/03/2020 at 16:48

Yep. I made late call Sturt to Davis.

Would had Sturt on bench. Saves me having to make decision about Rankine

Sturt did good. Ball fell in his lap and got a 50m, but 100 is fantastic for his owners

I’ll be an owner next week

          The Jinx · 21/03/2020 at 18:22

I'll wait another week before his price goes up. Then I'll be grabbing him for Schulz if he has another 50 or below and pocket a decent cash from Schulz.

            hedski · 21/03/2020 at 18:26

Need to get him next week Jinx, price rise after two games

              The Jinx · 21/03/2020 at 18:30

Right Hedski after the Freo 2nd game will pick him up. 1 game has been played.

                JEL · 21/03/2020 at 19:01

No, his price goes up after his next game.
The upcoming week is the only week where there are no changes in price.
** Except if they're dropped after this week!!

                hedski · 21/03/2020 at 19:02

Yeah but you need to own Sturt next week before he plays his second game.
If you try to buy him AFTER next round you will have missed his price rise, better to pocket the $80k from Schulz next week then get the rise from Sturt.
                Hope that makes sense Jinx.

              The Jinx · 21/03/2020 at 19:31

              Wait! I'm getting confuse.

So you guys are saying to pick him up at the end of the 1st round. Cause his price will rise at the end of 2nd round.

I thought you let the rookies play two games and pick them up after the 2nd game before the price rise.

                Derek · 21/03/2020 at 19:38

                It just changed

Got to get him before round 2

They are on the bubble after one game now

                  The Jinx · 21/03/2020 at 22:08

                  Thanks Derek.

So I really to get him after this round. For Schulz and maybe jumpship off McPherson he looked lost o7t there tonight.

So far I'm good with rookies apart from Sturt.

                  BundyBear · 22/03/2020 at 03:07

                  Derek is right

                hedski · 21/03/2020 at 19:50

                What Derek said 👍

      red5 · 21/03/2020 at 19:04

      good suggestion
      I'll do it now!!

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 16:34

Sturt looked ok, but got 3 goals to inflate his score, Davis can also kick goals so let's hope so, I did the same.
If Davis goes well I might go Cavarra to Sturt

      JEL · 21/03/2020 at 17:01

Looking at bringing in Sturt for next week also, that 100 is going to sit there for the next 2 price rises.

        Derek · 21/03/2020 at 19:40

        No brainer

The Jinx · 21/03/2020 at 18:16

Watching the Crow v Swans game behind the couch like Derek did two years back with Lycett. C'mon Naismith

    Bombers56 · 21/03/2020 at 19:18

    Me too

    Bombers56 · 21/03/2020 at 19:24

    Looks OK this round 🙂

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 19:41

    Love the risky R2

    When Jacobs myself.

      Derek · 21/03/2020 at 19:44

Jacobs against Fort. Sauce should go ok

        The Jinx · 21/03/2020 at 19:48

Jacobs should do ok against the Cats with no fix ruckman.

I don't think I'd wanna watch the Swans against Dees, North and Pies.

Bucketaters · 21/03/2020 at 18:28

Do prices rise after 2 games in supercoach or is it still 3? Because with afl fantasy it is now 2.

Reasoning being if it's 2 you would have to get sturt this week as he will rocket in price

    Yeahnah · 21/03/2020 at 18:54

Prices rise after 2 games, but I'm not sure if it's still a 3 round rolling average or has been changed to 2

      hedski · 21/03/2020 at 19:04

It will be a 3 game rolling average, players starting average (eg 25 points for a $123k rookie) will count as their first game.

    JEL · 21/03/2020 at 18:56

    2 games for SC

    The Jinx · 21/03/2020 at 19:42

Ok! We clarity I've always thought you need to pick rookies that's on the bubble after the 2nd game before they play the 3rd game.

The has it changed this season or what.

Rocksta_ · 21/03/2020 at 18:50

Having ‘big wraps’ Ben Davis on field probably not the best decision I’ve made today!

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 18:57

i got him on bench. He looks ok and should hold his place

    I havnt even spotted Mcasey

Does Gibbs still play for the Crows

Ja191 · 21/03/2020 at 18:54

McInerney looks a good player, passing the eye test

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 18:59

Yes. His attack on the loose ball half way through the 3rd quarter was unbelievable

    Rocksta_ · 21/03/2020 at 19:00

    Yea, McInerney looks good

EndoftheWorld · 21/03/2020 at 18:57

Are they even using a scoring system, or do they just decide the scores before the game?
If they have a system, it's pants !

JEL · 21/03/2020 at 18:58

Not that I have him, but what's happened to Gibbs in the last couple of years?

Billioux · 21/03/2020 at 19:04

Hi guys, what do you reckon is the rookie "take score" 70?

    MADMAX · 21/03/2020 at 19:07

    yep i'd take 70

red5 · 21/03/2020 at 19:07

Is the magic number (5430) still the same??

    Holty01 · 21/03/2020 at 19:36

    What is 5430?

      red5 · 21/03/2020 at 19:46

the number that's used when calculating the price (5428.732394)
i.e. (.75 * current price) + (.25 *Magic Number * (average of last three rounds))
now last 2 rounds I think

Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 19:31

Wow you'd have to be pretty happy if you started with Naismith, I wonder is Sinclair due back and do they share rucking if he does?

Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 21:17

Lord help me I've got Cumming and Green on field, I thought I was gonna get a half decent score this week.

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 21/03/2020 at 21:53

Alabama claims his first victim. 🤛

dontblushbaby · 21/03/2020 at 22:02

The round is only half way through and it looks like there will be a lot of corrective trades this weeks me thinks, however very happy with Sam Jacobs score even if Max scores does have the same or better

    Russty_ · 21/03/2020 at 22:05

Yeah DBB very happy with Big Sauce and Rozee, not so much some other guys

    Derek · 21/03/2020 at 22:16

Jacobs has Max next week, see how that goes, but after that he has English, TBC, Naismith, Witts and Nank.

Grundy after that, but he might have done his job by then.

      The Jinx · 21/03/2020 at 22:24

I've noticed in AFL app/website Fixture is only upto round 4.

Naismith has Bombers, Suns & Blues if keeps an of 80-90 should be a nice price rise. If he plays against North, Pies or Dees in Round 5. Might have to let him go then.

hedski · 21/03/2020 at 22:13

Bring on corrective trades, and the cats first win, and the land of fairy dust.

What_Bear · 21/03/2020 at 23:42

Hello all,

Been a long tough week and missed most of the rolling lockouts. Just one question which Melbourne rookie Bedford or Pickett?

Many thanks
Bear

    Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 00:14

Giday Bear, Neil NDD would be the one to answer this one.

    What_Bear · 22/03/2020 at 08:14

    Thank you

Stupid Coach · 22/03/2020 at 08:30

Do I take 78 from Georgiadies on my bench and replace Taylor on field with a non playing rookie or just stick with Taylor as he is playing for cash generation.

    dontblushbaby · 22/03/2020 at 09:10

I'd take George's ST, I should have taken Browns score but opted to leave Greene on field, you win some……

    Derek · 22/03/2020 at 10:40

will Be plenty with same question. Especially those with E on Sturt.

If you want his score this week it will cost you a trade

Can’t get Rankin, so you would need to get any spud and use a Trade next week.

If you don’t have Sturt, you might do it. You will need Sturt next week for the cash.

If you think all your rookies will play next week, it will be a tough call who to drop.

Do you have Brander in your forward line?

What is a trade worth this year?

      Derek · 22/03/2020 at 12:43

the Boys are on the bubble now, after 1 week. Any rookies that had a good score this week that you don’t have, got to get them this week.

      I missed Brown and Sturt.

Will wait and see who get dropped, Cavarra didn’t have a great game.

I have Georgie with E. I would have to get rid of either King or Taylor who are both on field for a spud, then next week spud to Sturt.

You can bet the one I dump will score 100

I think cash outweighs trades this year, have 30 mins to decide

bloke · 22/03/2020 at 09:36

Can anyone explain where i went wrong with the captains loophole?

I had VC on cripps, wasn't happy enough with his score and decided to try again with grundy.

Put Grundy on the bench as an emergency, put conroy on the field as captain.

Conroy doesnt play, so I should have Grundy's score as my captain score right?

Well, I just checked my score and Cripps is on 224 and Grundy on 179. Did i miss something, did they remove the captains loophole this year? I haven't been keeping up with the SC news so idk if i just missed that announcement or if i managed to forget how to do captains loophole.

Cheers guys

Maverick_ · 22/03/2020 at 11:40

Petracca or ceglar community for my F3? I have brayshaw and that killed me yesty now I’m starting to doubt myself with petracca cant afford to have two breakout contenders flop…

    TBone_9 · 22/03/2020 at 12:33

Starting to think the same thing mate. If you’ve got a risky R2 Ceglar has a use but I think Petracca scores more over the season. It’s a question of do you think any of them are keepers or mid priced options that need to be upgraded. Cheers Mav 🙂

      Maverick_ · 22/03/2020 at 13:03

      Thanks for the reply mate.
I think both could be keepers in an unpredictable season mate even if they were F6 by seasons end I am running Naismith at R2 so not the most durable bloke going around. I think I might take ceglar and hope he locks himself as the main ruck. Not sure about tracca with viney & oliver in the guts

        Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 13:34

I have a feeling Petracca might end up on 82 gain Mav…or less, he seems to be a feast or famine type..Ceglar might average 80 or so, maybe Rozee?

          Maverick_ · 22/03/2020 at 14:29

Hoping to lock someone in while the trades are free russty so limited options but if they go bust it may be too rozee. I do have a 100k bank so brayshaw to rozee might be on the cards before price rises.

Rocksta_ · 22/03/2020 at 12:46

I didn’t see the game but did Macpherson not play on the ball last night?
As per Holty above, not sure why we get sucked into this ‘Breakout Contender’ BS every year.

With only 17 Rounds, I’m going to flick Macpherson and Houston next week. Should have gone with the tried and tested from the start.

    Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 13:32

Hey Rocksta, if you have to flick Macpherson I'd suggest Rozee, he's a young gun who might've already gone next level, wouldn't advise dumping Houston after 79, that's not terrible and he should go all right this year, who would you bring in for Houston?
I dumped Sicily for Houston at the last minute to fit others in, kinda wish I didn't now but Houston will be ok I reckon..or Howe might be an option?

      Rocksta_ · 22/03/2020 at 14:01

      Cheers Russty.
I was thinking Tom Stewart for Houston, but you’re probably right on that score.

        Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 14:12

I had Stewart all last year Rocksta, very reliable choice.

The Jinx · 22/03/2020 at 12:51

What's more important corrective trade or cash cow?

Brayshaw, schulz nd Green I want to offload and replace them for the likes of sturt, Georgeiades or Rowell

Or The Bont for Coniglio and Sculz for Rowell I'm leaning more to this option. Seems to have a better upside, JS, scoring and cash gen.

    Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 13:29

Both important Jinx but need to get the right rooks from as early as possible to make the cash, I don't think trading Bont for Cogs is a good idea really, the Bont is a champ, Captain and durable..dogs will get it together. Schulz for Rowell or Sturt good idea, you need Rowell, Sturt could still drop a 40 next week…doubt Rowell will.

Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 13:36

Curtis Taylor on 2 points at quarter time hoorayyy!

    The Jinx · 22/03/2020 at 13:42

Yup! That sums up my weekend with the choice of rookies on field. While other on bench teasing me with their yummo scores

      Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 13:45

It's like a conspiracy Jinx, I picked Taylor, Cavarra and Davis, Sturt tons up King will probably kick 5 lol

    Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 14:11

…..and on 2 points at half time, double hooray

      COREYSC · 22/03/2020 at 14:20

The Ranger · 22/03/2020 at 14:27

Gresham out for the rest of the game. Bugger.

hedski · 22/03/2020 at 14:40

Dev Robertson late in for Brisbane, in case anyone was using him as a loophole, Birchall out.

    Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 14:45

Nice Hed, wish I could still trade Green out for him lol

      hedski · 22/03/2020 at 14:58

Missed that 3rd QTR of footy, did Long come back on?

        Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 15:06

Yeah Taylor did some scoring and got a goal, Long is back out there.

          hedski · 22/03/2020 at 15:30

I traded Long out 5 minutes before the bounce.

          hedski · 22/03/2020 at 15:34

And he ended up with 112.
I can do no right it seems.

            Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 15:44

Ouch mate…that must hurt, looks like he has a very busy vital role this year, doing well as a half backer, you could always whack him back in but there's probs no footy next week anyway.

      hedski · 22/03/2020 at 14:59

I have Robertson on the bench.

Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 14:57

Always bad to see injuries happen but with all the North injuries today should guarantee Taylor some JS for awhile

JohnDJ59 · 22/03/2020 at 15:21

Looks like this might be the last round for some time to come with SA closing it's borders.

    Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 15:23

Dammit John…what a bummer, hope they can knock this thing on the head soon.

      JohnDJ59 · 22/03/2020 at 15:35

It's only going to get worse if people don't take it seriously. I've been self isolating for three weeks now and I'm not even sick.

        Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 15:43

Same here, only going out if necessary and wearing mask and gloves, don't care what anyone thinks, they'll be the fools who get it..with their 'she'll be right' attitudes.

          Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 15:58

Good call there bud, Robbo just doesn't seem right yet, might take awhile and now with this break coming up who knows?….I'm hoping Brander delivers at least a 60 or so, that might tip me over for a good score this week.

          gator59 · 22/03/2020 at 16:13

How is Alan Rowarth playing.. Another bloke from down this way

JEL · 22/03/2020 at 15:27

Game over I fear – VIC & NSW going into lockdown, SA is closing it's borders.
Can't see AFL continuing unless they play a season of derbys/showdowns.

Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 15:27

Typical StKilda, losing another game due to inaccurate kicking, same ole same ole.

    hedski · 22/03/2020 at 15:32

Roos out pressured them in the last QTR also, Marshall would be gutted with that missed shot.

    Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 15:51

Yeah it was a good effort Neil, young Taylor really stepped up and did something in the 2nd half, made some nice plays that led to goals and kicked 1 himself.

      gator59 · 22/03/2020 at 16:17

The only good thing to come out of this game is Ben Long.. Misses the 2nd quarter with ankle injury and walks away with 112 SC points..Glad i put him in my fwd line

        gator59 · 22/03/2020 at 17:44

        Birregurra neil

    NoLanguage96 · 22/03/2020 at 23:26

Very proud of my boys with three game ending injuries. Saints very good early doors though not all bad Rust

COREYSC · 22/03/2020 at 15:49

Champion Data forget about Sicily 4 kicks and 3 marks for 0 points must be using the ball terribly no free kicks against either which sometimes can hurt him

COREYSC · 22/03/2020 at 16:09

It seems like impact players aren’t as well looked after as the accumulators Neale 70 at quarter time and Mitchell 49

    Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 16:18

Yeah Corey I think it's a bit like that kick in thing last season, don't think it made much difference in the end, Neale and Titch can't help but score heaps cause they get it heaps.

hedski · 22/03/2020 at 16:10

Titch back to his piggish ways, lazy 49 point first qtr.
Neale on 71, glad I didn't trade him out to Bont the other night, wish I had of captained him instead of Cogs though.

    DavidC · 22/03/2020 at 16:55

Got the C on Neale after not VCing Grundy. Looks like it's the last round for awhile.

      Russty_ · 25/03/2020 at 02:21

Nice consolation prize there Dave with Neale's score…not that it matters now, can't see the season continuing now.

Defying_Madness · 22/03/2020 at 16:17

oh Robertson a late in I had him captain with grundy vc…

    Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 16:27

Oh wow that's unfortunate nick..makes a good case for having a rock solid donut for the whole season.

dontblushbaby · 22/03/2020 at 16:35

AFL to be postponed after this round – Damien Barrett – Gillon McLachlan to speak soon

    DavidC · 22/03/2020 at 16:49

Looks like I have plenty of time to work out my 2 corrective trades before the next round.

    Derek · 22/03/2020 at 17:28

See ya in a couple of months fellas

Russty_ · 22/03/2020 at 18:08

Was thinking I'd have to replace Cumming and or Thatcher with Roberton or Starcevich but I think I'll just leave it as is lol, some pretty lame def scores this week.
Dunno what to do with myself now Footy's over for 10 weeks, this really sucks.. stay in touch through here everyone, and above all else…take this seriously and stay safe.

    NoLanguage96 · 22/03/2020 at 23:25

    Stay safe mate

JEL · 22/03/2020 at 18:54

Hope they get to restart at some point this year.
Wonder what we can take out of these SC scores if they have a break for 10 weeks or longer?

    The Ranger · 22/03/2020 at 20:00

10 bloody weeks of staring at Dylan bloody Robertons bloody 20 bloody 6

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 22/03/2020 at 19:58

Not that it matters now but nic Nat giving gawn a bath.

Viney playing like a man possessed.

What the he'll we gonna do without footy???

    Russty_ · 23/03/2020 at 01:17

I'm in mourning mate, this is my favourite time of the year…normally, I had my best start to a Supercoach season ever too with 2341, now it's wait until round 2 , 30th May….maybe.

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 22/03/2020 at 21:31

Bunker down, observe the rules and above all Stay safe out there folks!

See you on the other side.

TRIG.

    Russty_ · 23/03/2020 at 01:15

Take care mate, I went to do some shopping this evening at my local Coles and they were all looking at me like I had 2 heads for wearing a mask and gloves.
The people here are not taking it seriously but they'll learn soon enough.
Get yourself on the dole mate if you're losing your job..many others will be.

      Russty_ · 24/03/2020 at 00:05

Cheers bud, got lucky with Jacobs, Rozee and not having all the lower scoring rookies, and no Roberton also helped.

    Derek · 23/03/2020 at 08:23

Bigger things to worry about than footy.

I’ve got a small business that employs 10 people. Need to keep the doors open.

Take care everyone and see you in a few months

      Russty_ · 24/03/2020 at 00:06

You too Derek, take care and if you have to lay them off, take solace in that they can get double centrelink payments now…$560 per week.

Russty_ · 23/03/2020 at 04:37

We all have our moments of dildocity Neil, like the poor bloke who thought he was loopholing Grundy for the C score but did the opposite, it's just a minor brain fade, but can cost us dearly.
Anyhoo, it's all moot now cause we're all taking a forced long service leave vacation to purgatory!…thanks to this bloody shitty virus crap.

gator59 · 23/03/2020 at 09:38

Well said Trigga.. Great score Russty.. Now on to my to do list of things .. Sharpen my pencils, Sharpen my pencils again ,,Sharpen my pencils again ,,Sharpen my pencils again ,, Go and buy some more pencils ,,Sharpen my pencils again… Stuff it my pencil sharpener is blunt.. Suppose I could sit and watch all the Premierships that the Saints have won…. Well that's half my day filled in , Now what to do .. Stay safe all

    Russty_ · 24/03/2020 at 00:09

Yeah Gat what to bloody do with ourselves now?…god knows well I went to the beach today with my sis, to take our minds off all this crap…scary times we're in now, I've never even been able to re-watch any of our Grand Finals from 2010 etc…too damn painful with all the squandering of goals.
