SC Finals Round 4 | Grand Final Edition
GRAND BLOODY FINAL!!
By TRIGGA HAPPY.
It’s here! After 23 rounds of pulsating footy and 3 finals we have final reached the Holy Grail. The grand final, it is what every AFL footballer aspires to and thanks to the Happy Ending keen super coachers can participate in. You only have to listen to Fyfe is life on Monday night who collected his second Brownlow (kudos by the way) to see how much playing on that last Saturday in September means to these blokes, it is not given it is earnt.
Two teams have earnt the right to fight it out for to be the best of the best for season 2019. Some may argue that GWS hasn’t really earnt the right but they have played off in 4 prelims before this one and lost two of those by less than a kick. Yep they have earnt it that is for sure.
Wasn’t that a pulsating game of footy! Could have really gone either way as GWS hung on for dear life as Collingwood threw everything but the kitchen sink at them, big Mummy might give away a few frees but he was enormous in that last 5 minutes even having time to borke around the Collingwood captain. Grundy gave his mids first class service all day but they just couldn’t capitalise on his dominance. It did however earn him a very tidy 150 supercoach points.
In the other game on Friday night it was a game of two halves. The cats definitely played the better footy first half, chopping and changing and constantly finding a way through the tigers defence. Mental note GWS (this worked and may work again on Sat arvo). But the Tiges are a four quarter team and despite being down at half time they started to play Chaos footy and the Lynchpin grabbed everything within a 10m radius. At one stage I saw him resting in the forward line deep in thought thinking I could be surfing in Bali if I was still playing for the suns.

Onto the SC Finals.
Round 3 saw the magnificent specimen that is Lekdog leading the pack with a great score of 1,579. Scorpions and Pizza were tied for equal 2nd on 1529. Grundy was a popular captain choice but no one had the lynchpin who was ultimately the difference between the two sides. Gonna burn Tommahawk all summer.
Somehow ol’ Trigga Happy is leading all comers after 3 rounds with a total score of 4,570. This may mean two things. Knows abit about this supercoach caper and had some luck. So a little from column A and a little from column B. My philosophy is no point doing something unless you do it properly. But holt is only 15 points behind with pizza, the flukes and the defending champ Shake n Bake rounding out the top 5.
If you like a wager I’d put my hard earned on Shake.
Blank canvas. Start again. (Every Week)
•No salary cap! That’s right you can pick whoever you like without breaking the bank as there is no bank as long as it is within the rules as set out below.
• Can’t have the same captain each week. No vice captain.
I don’t think it is necessary to post all the rules again as you guys get the general idea of how it all operates. Right? If not please refer back to the previous article which states all the rules.
Grand Final: (From 2 Teams participating – Maximum of 5 players from each team):
•10 Players consisting of:
There was a suggestion that we maybe go with 12 players.
Happy to create an extra forward and defence line if that is what the community wants but I feel 5 from each team is about right.
As there are 4 finals the captain must be selected from the 4 areas of the ground over the final series. So from a mid, fwd, back and ruck over the 4 weeks of the finals. This means you need to pick your captain from the one spot on the ground that you haven’t used as a captain this week.
Think you are too far behind and can’t catch the leaders?
Well think again, even if you are over 100 points off the pace you can still win this thing by picking the right captain and selecting the Norm Smith medallist for the player deemed to be best on ground in the Grand Final.
It’s that simple.
I have added a line under the Captain for a Norm Smith selection. This is the light blue highlight. All you have to do is select who you believe will win the Norm Smith medal and if you are correct you will get their supercoach points added to your total score!
Follow the example under my team if you get stuck,
All teams must be entered into the spreadsheet via the link below:
Teams must be complete before the first bounce on Grand Final day. Teams are locked in after this time.
Teams are in the same order so please fill in your team from the same spot as last time as I have linked the teams to the scores sheet.
Once again good luck to all and don’t forget to add Normie!
Gone to my happy place. Be back in a few……
