2020 | Who are you picking?
It’s early and we don’t know prices but we can speculate! Who are you looking at next year?
Give me 2 blokes from each position.
Lekdog’s Picks:
Def – Sam Docherty, Zac Williams
Mid – Jack Macrae, Tom Mitchell
Ruc – Grundy, Marshall
Fwd – Michael Walters, Quinton Narkle (pending price)
Who are you looking at? Who do you think will be forward eligible next year?
No jock no crouching no interest
Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out to Negativeland.
Your loss, son. I found this site to be superior this year than in previous seasons. Cheers.
No interest, yet here you are checking out the site! Haha, makes sense … not.
I'm #TeamHiggo myself
I worry about Wayno.
Thoiught I saw him squid fishing off St,Kilda pier a few weeks ago but when I shouted "Wayno!" at him and ran toward him he scarpered.
Seconded
Never started with the Bont before, reckon I will in 2020.
Will start Cripps again. Fyfe too. Maybe Oliver if there is value.
Sticking with Grundy, Gawn.
Whitfield, if still a defender, maybe Doc too.
All I know in the fwd line is R.Gray will never appear again. I don't care if he averages 250 pre season, still not happening.
Hi Lek, Def, Doch for sure if he has a full preseason, possibly Lachie weller, Caleb Daniel..Doedee
Mid, Dunks, Titch, Treloar, Worpel, Zorko, Yeo, possibly McLuggage, Jordan Dawson
Ruck, Grundy Gawn, but think Marshall would also be a good starter.
Fwd, Fwds will be hard …maybe Parish, C.Cameron.
Thinking the same mate but we all need to save money somewhere at the start, gotta get those playing rookies right from the start also.
Weller and Doedee are big picks. What;s the thinking there?
Love Zork and McCluggage, too.
Weller and Doedee, if fit and firing could average 90 +, but I'll probably end up going 3 guns and 3 rooks, backline has been my weakest line for the last few years so might even stack it a bit more next season Patchynator.
Def – Sam Docherty, Lachie Whitfield
Mid – Patrick Cripps, Tom Mitchell
Ruc – Brodie Grundy, Max Gawn
Fwd – Patrick Dangerfield, Devon Smith
Def McKenna Rance
Mid mccluggage walsh
Ruck. Grundy Gawn
Fwd Martin Menegola
Izak Rankine might be a lock at F5 or F6.
Doc,Titch, Grawndry, Hunter Clark is going to be a gun, T Mac might be worth considering, Menegola, Dev Smith, Hanners is in the mix, Aaron Hall for mid cheapy, Consider Narkle, Jack Watts forward, Don't know how much Rhylee West will be worth but worth a look, Tom Doedee, Fancy pants Rance, Callum Ward, Sam Coke Murray, Marlion Pickett
Was thinking the same maybe about Clark and Pickett Gator, Menegola should be a cheap fwd next year, not touching Hanners, Hall or Watts or Rance with a bargepole though, will Murray be back in time for us to have a look at him in the JLT?
Yeah agree with you Russty on some of them like Hall Hanners Watts and Rance they will be cheap and Murray has served his time I think but may not be at the pies.. Could be another good fit at the life less Dees
I reckon Dees are in with a chance of getting Bruce.. All depends on what you guys have got to offer… Maybe T Mac and a 2nd round pick sounds about right
WTF would you do with three big Ruckman.. Besides you couldn't have both Gawn and Pruess playing Seconds
Reckon he'd be a waste playing anywhere but number 1 Ruck Neil, he really shone in the role this year and made it his own.
Defence: S.Docherty, Z.Williams
Midfield: T.Mitchell, C.Ward
Rucks: Grundy, Gawn
Forwards: T.Greene, I.Heeney
Need to see a full pre-season and good scoring from Ward but he could be a bargain. I also think (I cannot believe i’m Going back to the Well for the fourth time!) Isaac Heeney will be freed up with Buddy, Reid, Blakey and Hayward up forward Heeney could be released in the midfield with enough vocal point forwards
Hey Corey, I'd leave Ward alone mate…players get older and eventually they break, especially the ones who are renowned for being hard nuts, they tend to break worse than others..Cogs should be fairly cheap if you want a Giant in your mids.
That’s a fair call Russty, probably not a bad idea to avoid all GWS players haha with all their injuries but the up side in terms of points is always so attractive
Greene and Heeney are two I absolutely won't be touching to start with, but having said that I'll be starting with Heeney because I'm a gooddam sucker.
No Heeney for me next year, he can go eat his own poop for all I care. Not until he becomes a mid/ fwd and he's been teasing us with that the last 3 years. ..and actually plays as a mid, he just goes missing too much in games though, he can bugger the hell off.
There will probably be bugger all forwards to start with next year at a reasonable price so we could have to suck it up and choose some true spuds on that line.
Caleb Daniel and Charlie Curnow should be cheap, Harry McKay will be 10-15 pts p/game better next year Marshall might retain fwd status Crows will unveil a bargain fwd and Blakey will create headlines in Sydney. There'll be plenty of fwds available don't panic
Truer words never spoken. Heeney never again! I am going try and stick to that rule next year.
Whitfield Williams Fyfe Dangerfield Grundy Gawn Dunkley Worpel.
Laird,Stewart,MacRae,Cripps,Gawn,Grundy,Dangerfield,Martin
7 Reasons Why would be a good start
Need to change Brayshaw but.
Then pick the top scorer on each line based on history build rest of team around this setup.
Worked pretty well in 2019..
Defenders: Lloyd and Docherty
Midfielders: Mitchell and Macrae
Rucks: Grundy and Gawn
Forwards: Dangerfield and T.Kelly/Dunkley/Marshall/Boak if any of those 4 are still forward eligible. Otherwise, who knows? Maybe Walters?
Good to hear Roughy has joined the Saints in a role including list management and developing and mentoring our key forwards, hopefully he can teach them how to kick straight!
still working on my choices <img src="
" width="1"/>
Damo has me bullish on Ethan Hughes (price pending) for a look-in,
DEF: Docherty, Daniel Rich
MID: Titch, Neale
RUC: Grundy … ???? Witts? Gawn? Goldy? Draper? Who knows!
FWD: God knows who Champion Data give us, but I'll take a rusty spoon and a cabbage at this stage.
Def – Lloyd + Doc
Mid – Dunkley + Titch
Ruk – Grundy + Marshall
Fwd – The top two fwd/mid DPP's
Buddy anyone?
No buddy way
You'd have to be Buddy mad. Sorry not sorry.
Anyone for Bailey Dale as a FWD
Hi mate, he's a little bit up and downy scorewise for me, but I'll be keeping an eye on him in the JLT to see how he goes.
Hey Trig, maybe re-post your expressions of interest in Trig's Happy ending in here?
Think there's about 12 or so on board at the moment.
1st Final is this Thursday so let Trigga know guys if you'd like to partake.
Last year there were 30 plus participating so hopefully we can get similar numbers this year.
I'm in for sure Russty and Trgga
How do you join up?
I've sent it to Lek.
Just waiting on him to put on website. 👍
Would it be on this page?
Should appear as a new article..
With all the lowdown how to play and the link to enter team
We've got a post up now for it
Def – Doch Roberton
Mid – Tich MacRea
Ruc- Grundy Marshall
For – D.Smith Danger
Roberton, forgot about him. Cheap but risky
Roberton I like too but need to see how his ticker is. Doc I want to wait and see how he starts, poor bloke is injury prone and just praying he gets through pre season and JLT if he gets a run.
Def: Docherty, Byrne-Jones (second half of the year outstanding)
Mid: Titch, Macrae
Ruc: Grundy, Gawn
Fwd: Danger, E. Curnow (if continues to play in the guts)
Silvagni, Stocker, Docherty, C.Curnow, Fisher should all generate enough points to hold their place and make 100k before the byes.
Liam Jones could be a smokey if Doch plays
Those that aren't blue would include the unfortunately named Thomas Mitchell
Sam walsh to best second year blues
D – Docherty, Stewart
M – Dunkley, T Mitchell
R – Grundy, Gawn
F – Dangerfield, Marshall
Marshall will be ruck only, most likely but will also be one of my first-picked fwds if not.
Depending on DPP status:
D: Lloyd, Stewart (I want to see how Doc starts first – may be a future upgrade)
M: Mitchell, Dunkley
R: Grundy, Gawn
F: Dangerfield, Dev Smith
Assuming Dunks becomes mid only, and Danger retains fwd/mid DPP.
