Good morning community,

It’s that time of the season as we slowly roll into the last month of Supercoach, ruing the excessive use of trades at the start of the season. I often wonder what value we each put on trades? For instance, how much salary cap would you forego at the start of the season to buy an extra trade or 2? Or would you prefer to have more initial salary cap and less trades? Let me know below what you think a trade is worth now compared to what a trade is worth (in dollars) at the end of the season.

I’ve only included “buys” or “watch to buy / risky buy” players this week. It’s the same as the last few cheat sheets in that you should be at full premo by now, or resigned to the fact that you have a few higher MPRs still in your team (maybe just MPs, as risk is lower).

Good luck over the next few weeks everyone, and especially if you’re fighting for a finals place in a cash league.

Cheers,
Statty Matty.

Are any of these better alternatives than R.Gray and Sicily?
Got 6 trades so happy to take a risk.

    Statty Matty · 25/07/2019 at 16:02

How much money do you have, and who are they replacing Blue?

      Blue · 25/07/2019 at 17:20

Looking at replacing Gray or Sicily with Whitfield, Marshall, Greene etc.
      37 k in bank

Mark Fawcett · 25/07/2019 at 14:19

I have Goldstein and Gawn as my rucks. Is it worth trading Goldy up to Grundy with only 2 trades left? Pretty happy with my overall team but don't want to risk injuries in the next few weeks. $214,200 in the bank to play with

    DavidC · 25/07/2019 at 14:51

Nah, sit tight and wait for the inevitable injuries to appear.

      Statty Matty · 25/07/2019 at 16:06

I'm with David. Goldy is 3rd best Ruck for the season, and actually second over 3 and 5 weeks.

You'd be chasing 100pts (20pts per week for 5 weeks), but if you cop an injury with no cover, that's 100pts blown pretty quick.

Save your last 2 trades for injuries.

Fisherdann · 25/07/2019 at 17:33

Nice job Statty.
5 trades left. Should I keep Clarke as cover and use 3 trades to get to full premo as I had planned or cull Clarke to Ryan now using 2? This will leave Hill and Bewley as midfield cover but 3 trades left for finals.
What do you reckon fellas?

Fearthebeard · 25/07/2019 at 18:43

I can’t afford trealor or Oliver.

Duncan, zmerrett, either crouch? Anyone else sub 540k? lol

Rustty has always been good and weighed his opinion in for me just thought I’d check if anyone else had an opinion to throw forward.

    Dermy · 26/07/2019 at 01:31

Duncan won’t cop tag because of Kelly and good pod to Merrett who everyone will jump on cause of price. Merrett might cop tag and can’t handle it can get a low score. Duncan if you want reliable low 100, Cunnington/Parker if you need potential 130 to get a win for league

    Dermy · 26/07/2019 at 01:40

Also, Ed Curnow 5 100s out of last 6. Last year had 1 score the whole season under 86 and 10 hundreds. big pod at 496k never get close attention.

    Maverick_ · 26/07/2019 at 04:35

I'm a big fan of duncan Fearthebeard.
Been A solid contributor for a few years now just flys under the radar at 500k i think his a steal.

Taranto also worth a look for around 510k

dontblushbaby · 25/07/2019 at 18:51

Don Pike shot Bambi , I can hear the uproar from here

Lazza · 25/07/2019 at 19:12

Hurn didn’t get up…

    Russty_ · 25/07/2019 at 19:50

If you have to win this week Lazamatazz..then he has to go I reckon, I have Andrews who got suspended with Logue as backup so Andrews can bugger off.

      Maverick_ · 25/07/2019 at 20:04

I have Burgess as my cover . Doubt he’ll make the cut tomorrow night so if I go hurn to Whitfield I can’t grt grundy and I think he will go 175+ against Richmond . And I do not trust Whitfield’s body anyway. What a mess 🙁

        Russty_ · 25/07/2019 at 20:08

Who are your rucks at the moment Mav?…Whitfield copped a big hit to his shoulder and he seems to be ok now, if your present ruck is scoring ok, maybe Whitfield could be the go.
Hell of a lot better than no Hurn and Burgess the lahoosah

          Maverick_ · 25/07/2019 at 20:30

ROBs R2 russty his going okay but Grundy isn’t human. If I went hurn to a player under 500k I’d still be able too get Grundy too..

          Potentially:
          Hurn -> crisp/Stewart
          ROB -> grundy

But the hurn trade feels like I’m takin a big step backwards I think I know I need to commit to one of Whitfield or grundy.

            Russty_ · 25/07/2019 at 20:52

Having reviewed Grundy vs ROB's scores Mav, yeah Grundy is essential, he's an inhuman freaky deaky and is averaging megapoints over his last 10 games, ROB not even close.
I think I'd do it, I did it several weeks back and didn't regret it, it's impossible to regret getting Grundy in.

              JugHead · 25/07/2019 at 21:01

And lets not forget his captaincy value. Has been rock solid for me for weeks now.

              Maverick_ · 25/07/2019 at 21:10

Yeah Grundy I think will monster tiges too :/ yeah all my opponents have Brodie jug head and I just feel I’m always playing catch up from the get go when they nail there VC every week.

So we thinking hurn -> Houli/crisp too finance grundy? Otherwise I’m fielding Burgess or a donut and gotta go setters -> hill to fund it and hope Hurn returns next week but if he doesn’t I can get Whitfield easy. I’m 20k short of gettin grundy in one trade this week

                Russty_ · 25/07/2019 at 22:52

Grundy and whoever else you deem worthy I reckon mate…ROB has dropped some low ones lately in the last 3 weeks, good vc option, just my opinion, maybe ask Jughead.

                  Maverick_ · 25/07/2019 at 23:03

I think ultimately it'll all depend on burgess tomorrow night.. i don't really want to part with hurn for a mediocre defender who is a rollercoaster like houli/crisp if i can hold off and lock in whitfield next week. my teams future is in stewy dews hands

ROB is rucking against phillips he may well go 150 again if the crows get a hold of the blues..
will still go grundy thoough he will do bad bad things to soldo infront of 90,000 at the G.

Emmaw · 25/07/2019 at 19:20

Treloar or Parker..

    TBone_9 · 25/07/2019 at 19:34

    Treloar!

      Russty_ · 25/07/2019 at 19:38

No one better than Treloar to ton up for ya with 55% disposal efficiency. 😉

    Emmaw · 26/07/2019 at 08:39

    Thanks guys 👍

TBone_9 · 25/07/2019 at 19:21

No Hurn this week, don’t particularly want to play Answerth on field. Could go sideways to Whitfield, or go down to Houli in order to leave some upgrade funds for Westhoff for finals. Just worried Hurn could turn into a 3 weeker and come back underdone

    Russty_ · 25/07/2019 at 19:41

I'd get rid of the prick…all reports through the week suggested he trained well and would be fine, so much for that, Whit I reckon, as good as Houli can be he can also be shitely…be good to get rid of Westhoff also though..dilemma mate.

      TBone_9 · 26/07/2019 at 13:21

Cheers Russty. That’s always a concern when the signs are good and they don’t pull up. Whitfield is so tempting and if it weren’t for his injury issues it’d be him without a doubt. I’ll ponder it, but in the end it might be swap to Whit just coz I don’t want to go below 3 trades yet haha

Johnno · 25/07/2019 at 19:58

Merrett or Treloar or Zorko guys? Last mid spot to fill. Cheers.

    Maverick_ · 26/07/2019 at 00:08

    Hi Johnny
of those three I like Zorko ya don't see anyone with him so a nice POD definately flown under the radar but a worthy pick.
Lions are in blistering form and finally able to do as he pleases with neale copping the attention.
3 games at the Gabba coming up also..

I own treloar it's not an enjoyable ride he'd walk into any butcher shop in melbourne and be offered a job on the spot.

Hien · 25/07/2019 at 20:36

Hi guys! Tossing up between Merrett, Parker and Duncan for my last mid spot. Who's your pick and why? Thanks

    Maverick_ · 26/07/2019 at 00:03

duncan for me Hien.. just think his too cheap for what he can deliver, a nice run home and a huge POD.

Fearthebeard · 25/07/2019 at 21:10

Haha these been my questions and my only advise was duncan guys. Mind you it was someone who is usually pretty handy haha

Rocksta_ · 25/07/2019 at 22:14

Barring late outs, this is the first time my starting 22 will all be playing for around 5 weeks. Here’s Hoping for a big score this week!

Rick Grimes · 25/07/2019 at 22:17

ROB rucking against himself again. VC potential.

Mikee · 26/07/2019 at 02:03

Great job as usual!

LordDeb · 26/07/2019 at 02:05

Looking at holding my trades this week <img src="https://s04.flagcounter.com/mini/rzN/bg_FFFFFF/txt_DDDDDD/border_FFFFFF/flags_0/.png" width="1"/>

Stupid Coach · 26/07/2019 at 05:15

Great work Statty Matty. I have 5.trades left but only 59k.
Out of finals contention in all leagues bar one where I sit fourth but playing someone in the bottom four. Looking to hold unless anyone thinks I should make a trade. My team is as follows:
B: Laird, Williams, Lloyd, Whitfield, Stewart, Sicily, Wilkie, Joyce.
M: Mcrae, Oliver, Cripps, Bont, Duncan, Merrett, Neale, Sloane, Settlefield, D Clarke, Brewley
R: Gawn, Goldy, Sweet
F: Danger, Kelly, Heeney, Cameron (GWS), Cameron (WC), Hanrahan, Gardner, Young
Obviously the forward line needs a bit of work but probably need to do a downgrade before I can upgrade which is not ideal with only 5 trades left.

Any thoughts or advice much appreciated.

Esha · 26/07/2019 at 07:59

Have a tough decision. Playing for leagues only, currently top of table and can't be caught so this week doesn't matter. Have two final upgrades to do

D6 logue, bench burgess/naish
M8 stack, bench Clarke, hately, bewley
F6 Cameron, bench Hill/Gardner
$78k in bank, 6 trades left

Option 1:
Stack to Duncan
Bewley to Langlands
Leaves me $100k next week to use logue plus one of hately/Clarke to go to Whitfield, full premo with three trades left

Option 2:
Stack to Merrett
Leaves me $26k for next week to try and do Logue+Clarke to Whitfield.
Projected to have $627k based on logue/clark projections which likely leaves me $10k short of Whitfield+rookie, but if they play well I can get Whitfield and enter week two of finals with three trades instead of two

Also have hurn complicating things but reckon hell be back. Play it safe with option 1 or gamble with option 2 for the extra trade but the risk is that I get stuck with a houli instead of Whitfield at D3 (rest of defence is lloyd/hurn/stewart/Sicily/Williams)

Jdog · 26/07/2019 at 08:23

I have 2 trades left and clinging to the bottom half of the 8. Do I trade Hurn or keep?
Team is:

Def: Lloyd, Zilliams, Sicily, Ryan, Smith & Logue or Garner (cover)

Mid: Macrae, Fyfe, Neale, Bont, Cripps, Cunning, Brayshaw :(, Hately/Setter/Clarke/Bewley (who to start?)

Ruck: Legend with pony tail, Legend with beard

Fwd: Dunk, Danger, Boak, Heeny, Kelly, Mundy (Chol Emerg)

Do I trade Hurn to Whit or ride it out and hope I can loop the right guys?

2 trades scares me. I have 23k spare

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Joe T · 26/07/2019 at 09:34

Good luck to everyone for the last round before finals!

Might have to pass on Macrae because it means I'll have 0 trades during finals if I get him. Who are the two or three best mids to bring in aside from Neale, Cripps, Treloar, Merrett, Fyfe and Bont? Considering their run home for SC finals.

Fearthebeard · 26/07/2019 at 10:48

Taranto or Duncan?

    Maverick_ · 26/07/2019 at 11:21

I see you took me Taranto suggestion into consideration FTB 🙂 but Duncan for me still they will probably score much the same on the run home both easy draws. You just know what ya get with Duncan role won’t change a lot feel his a steal Geelong will bounce back leading into September and he’ll benefit.

      FearTheBeard · 26/07/2019 at 12:31

      Thanks mate.

I did haha though I was tossing up these 2, crouch bros and Zmerrett for a while.

Rustyy had me going Duncan though just wanted to see if any other opinions out there I could and should hear haha.

All good though. Duncan it is 😀

Stacky23 · 26/07/2019 at 11:09

Now that Hurns out i have a zero in the backline, is it worth going josh kelly to Ian hill as i feel hes a chance to be out longer than listed and then go Chol to Whitfield via gardner dpp. Leaves me with 2 trades and 270k to fill my final forward or mid spot
Team would be
LLoyd Whitfield Hurn Stewart Crisp Williams (Milera Naish)
Neale Macrae Cripps Fyfe Sloane Dunkley Yeo Crouch (Clarke Bewley Hill)
Gawn Grundy (Bines)
Danger Kelly Heeney Daniel Boak Hanrahan (Young Gardner)
Thinking that last trade will be Milera to Rowan Marshall or Hanrahan to Zach merret

Richard · 26/07/2019 at 11:32

Guys im 8th and need the last win to make finals in a cash league. Who is more likely to score this week and for what reason. Hartlett or Stack. Cheers community

gvaa1 · 26/07/2019 at 12:01

quite the payrolls <img src="https://s04.flagcounter.com/mini/Jkzv/bg_FFFFFF/txt_DEDEDE/border_FFFFFF/flags_0/" width="1"/>

    The Ranger · 26/07/2019 at 13:47

    Nailed it again gvaa.
Been lovin' your posts lately, thanks champ.

Dave2008 · 26/07/2019 at 18:06

8 trades left 525 900.

Team
D Hurn Z Williams Crisp Hartlett B Smith Sicily Garner Naish
M Macrae Dunkley Martin Cripps Oliver Parker M Crouch Stack Clarke Bewley Stocker
R Gawn Grundy Bines
F Dangerfield Heeney Boak Kelly Moore Cameron Choi Young
Holding Hurn so need a D6 going for league but safe in top 4.

Option 1
Moore (Dunkley forward)and Garner for Duncan and Whitfield 54 900 left

Option 2 Moore and Hartlett for Duncan and Whitfield 270900 left

Comment Z Merret instead of Duncan?
