The great Fozdaddy is BACK this week as Lek and Patch scrape the absolute bottom of the barrel to help out those cash and trade-strapped Supercoachers battling. It was an awful, awful week, but we look onwards and upwards to the elusive goal of that final, finished Supercoach side.

We address cheap defenders, cheap (and bad) forwards, how many trades you should have left and the best and worst moves of 2019. Speaking of which – what trades do you regret, who do you wish you’d brought in and what was your biggest starting mistake?

Awesome post admin thanks for thanking Bot.

        Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 00:34

Awesome post by me I thought too for thanking you Lek, for thanking the Bot, who thanked you for doing an awesome post.

          Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 00:39

Next thing you know, you'll be thanking me, for thanking you, for the awesome post you made, initially which was duly recognised by allmobitools…it'll catch on, and then the whole world will be thanking eachother, for all their awesome posts…or everyone will start buying allmobitools…or something.
Maybe and or probably not though.

            Lekdog · 12/07/2019 at 07:28

            You're crazy mate haha <3

Rick Grimes · 09/07/2019 at 08:17

I started the season with Jack Higgins. Held him for about 7 putrid weeks. I wwnt Goldstein to afford him and still don't own Grundy. To say my team is the Titanic is kind. At least some survived that carnage. My ship has sunk and all are lost at sea.

    Lekdog · 09/07/2019 at 15:50

Rick we will sink with you, god bless you

DEE · 09/07/2019 at 08:51

Any suggestions for a good downgrade option down in DEF?
Feedback would be great… Cheers!

    SpudsFC · 09/07/2019 at 11:46

Naish from richmond or gardener from WB in the unlikely event either of them gets picked, otherwise it is very slim pickings

      Lekdog · 09/07/2019 at 15:50

Gardner been ruled out for at least 4 weeks by the dogs

    Swans2012 · 09/07/2019 at 12:20

Quaynor looked good? I know he’s only played one but I’d head down that road before any others

SpudsFC · 09/07/2019 at 10:10

Final mid upgrade this week- was gonna be J.Kelly but now tossing up between parker, bont and cunners. What do you guys think?

    Lekdog · 09/07/2019 at 15:51

I like Bont of those three

Bambam fc · 09/07/2019 at 10:47

Maybe a bit too harsh on JPK. Brought him in myself last week. 110+ in 8 out of 12 games and 2 mid 90s. Only poor scores in his injury affected game and first game back.

    Lekdog · 09/07/2019 at 15:51

Yeah he's been good, just doesn't always feel that way haha

Derek · 09/07/2019 at 10:55

JR SURVIVOR CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS GROUP

the first week of the champions league have seen two very good players exit

ShinBONERS (2202) & Stretch Marks (2207) were the unlucky teams this week, well done to get this far.

The 'dodged a bullet' for this week was Instant Service (2211). Those 3 points from Hore was handy after all.

The top score, and Immunity for this week with a very nice score of 2511 was Tydesy22

Good luck everyone

    neil demons delight · 09/07/2019 at 18:45

Great to still be there Derek congrats on a great concept NDD

Tommo09 · 09/07/2019 at 11:09

Walsh is finally being traded out of my team this week for an underpriced Pendles. Also trading Answerth to Hurn finally. Bang Bang. One more upgrade left before I finally reach something resembling full premium.

    Derek · 09/07/2019 at 13:37

Give Walsh s standing ovation as he comes off. Well played lad, did good.

      Tommo09 · 09/07/2019 at 23:09

Definitely deserves it. Cracker season and I am very glad I picked him

    Lekdog · 09/07/2019 at 15:51

    Well done mate!

      DEE · 09/07/2019 at 18:05

      Agreed!

Daz · 09/07/2019 at 14:30

Word is JKelly almost certain to miss this week, in AFL.com article.

    Lekdog · 09/07/2019 at 15:52

Yep, the people are chattering…he's gonna miss. Gognigliog is 50/50, Cripps will play.

      DEE · 09/07/2019 at 18:06

How long will Kelly be out for mate?

        Lekdog · 09/07/2019 at 18:15

        Saying 3 weeks

Brn · 09/07/2019 at 17:46

Josh kelly to sloane or bont?

Other trade will go early on logue to stewart or ryan,?

Dont have enough for whitfield or williams

Thoughts?

    Lekdog · 09/07/2019 at 18:15

    Bont and Stewart easy

hedski · 09/07/2019 at 18:13

Jelly out for 3 minimum, grade 1 calf tear, probably miss more.

    JohnDJ59 · 09/07/2019 at 18:39

So the wave of injures just keep coming at the wrong time of the season. If my season wasn't already hanging in the balance, it sure is now.

HarryH76 · 09/07/2019 at 18:13

AFL website listing J Kelly out for 3 weeks. Killing me! Low on trades and not ideal. Right now considering Bont or Fyfe as replacement. Thoughts?

    JohnDJ59 · 09/07/2019 at 18:47

Bont, or if you are certain of playing finals, hold.

      HarryH76 · 09/07/2019 at 20:30

Unfortunately I'm not. Was cruising along but lost 2 weeks ago when I had Gawn as captain and then had an absolute shocker last week with Gawn, Cripps, Boak out and Kelly as C and we know he went down too. So I'm back to the dogfight for the 8

        JohnDJ59 · 10/07/2019 at 00:00

It comes down to trades then, I would love to trade him out since GWS players tend to come back later rather than sooner, but I did about six injury trades this season and it's now come back to haunt me, so will have to hold, my last two weeks have been bad as well, last week had the same injures as you plus Hore, so now only in the top 8 in 4/9 leagues instead of 6/9 and it will probably end up 2/9. If you have 5 trades or over left I would trade, 4 or under, hold.

          Russty_ · 10/07/2019 at 00:20

Hey John, I'm gonna wait on Hore, see what his diagnosis is and if he's getting surgery or not, could be back this year if he gets surgery, otherwise Collarbone's usually heal on their own but it takes longer.
Dodged a bullet over here..not having Kelly in my side, always seems to get injured when we need him most.

            JohnDJ59 · 10/07/2019 at 01:05

Hi Russty, I'm holding Hore as well now, I think he's going for surgery and they hope he will only miss two games. Kelly was one of my upgrades, I really can't take a trick this season, even though most of it was my own doing, I seemed to get hit by most of the injuries that happened. Looking forward to next season now. I'll be starting with Lloyd, Hurn, Cripps, Oliver, Neale, Fyfe, Bont, Gawn, Grundy, Danger, Dunkley, Heeney. Of those twelve I only started with six this year.

              Russty_ · 10/07/2019 at 01:41

I know exactly what you mean Mate…it's hard to come back from not picking the right guys in the first place, I'm guilty of that this season.
It makes you always want to catch up to the Joneses…not a good situation to be in as you're always just trying to catch up.
I'm gonna go pure guns and rookies next season with no speculatives, start with as many keepers as possible that are proven performers…and avoid any injury magnets.
At the moment, I'm sitting in the top 2%, so I'd be happy ending up on that or within the top 5 %…more importantly though, I'd like to win a League Final or 2.

          HarryH76 · 10/07/2019 at 17:28

I've got 7 trades but probably using 2 this week. ROB to Grundy and Kelly to Bont leaves me with 5. Poor bench coverage is hurting me- if I can somehow jag a DEF rookie for the rest of the year as Naish hasn't worked out and can't see him returning. Forward also struggling but have Setterfield to swing DPP in for all my forwards except Boak. Mid bench coverage ok for now

            JohnDJ59 · 10/07/2019 at 17:53

Five trades left after this week is a good position to be in Harry, I like your trades as well, I had good bench cover until last weekend, then it suddenly disappeared with players dropped and injured.

    Derek · 09/07/2019 at 20:05

Bought Kelly in last week. Oh well, out he goes.

    cyriledagain · 09/07/2019 at 22:23

Be careful with Fyfe – carrying injury at the moment

Fearthebeard · 09/07/2019 at 20:05

Who do we trade for jelly?

    Fearthebeard · 09/07/2019 at 20:10

Actually if certain if finals do we hold?

Otherwise do I go Parker? Cunnington? Or swing Dangerfield up and get lycette in?

      Russty_ · 09/07/2019 at 22:19

You know how GWS are with injured players Beard…3 weeks could turn into 6, I believe it has before with Kelly, I'd be punting him.
Depends on trades left too though, if less than 5..maybe hold and hope it's only 3 weeks.

    Rick Grimes · 09/07/2019 at 20:31

Is it worth a punt on Tim Tanto or Hopper. Someone will pick up Kelly's points. Also, sure Cogs has to play, even if hes not 100%

      Fearthebeard · 09/07/2019 at 20:42

Do you think hold kelly if I’m sure to
Make top 4 for my league?

        Derek · 09/07/2019 at 23:06

Look st GWS last 4 games. 3 at home

Bill · 09/07/2019 at 20:48

Sam_01 · 09/07/2019 at 22:04

APOLOGIES INNADVANCE FOR THE LONG POST!
Community I’m in strife ranked at 779 4 trades left 239k in the bank
Now I’ve gotten myself into a pickle by moving Dunkley into the mids last week to avoid a donut team as follows

Back: Williams lloyd laird Stewart Sicily logue (Burgess, Gardner)
Mid: Josh kelly(RIP) macrae DUNKLEY Neale bont Fyfe crouch treloar (CRIPPS, bewley stocker)
Ruck: Gawn Grundy (clarke)
Fwd: Danger Boak tkelly heeney greene Parker (chol bines)
NOW I have an extra premo mid in the midfield Being Dunkley
Options
1. Josh kelly to JPK and Parker to Marshall ( means I’ll have a premo on the bench this round going to waste) then next week I can Trade Greene swing Dunkley fwd bring in a spud midfielder 102k dpp then upgrade chol to Hurn via DPP, this option is very risky on the cash front still gives me logue as cover at D7 but no fwd cover but a better team!
2. Jye simpkin in for Parker…. bit left field but with Shaw in charge and the Roos surging Simpkin has gone 95/90/19injury/106/125
And josh kelly to JPK, next week trade chol to hurn via dpp and bewley down to a 102k dpp rookie, this option gives me cover on every line Greene/Simpkin fwd logue def and dpp swing for the mid
BUT again will still have a premo mid wasted on the bench this round
3. Parker out Dunkley swings fwd then josh kelly out JPK in 502k in the bank, run the risk of not getting Simpkin next week gives me good cover as in option 2 and no premos on the bench this rnd

    Ned_Starkers · 09/07/2019 at 22:29

I feel like with only 4 trades, you need to do the absolute minimum, so option 3 appeals to me but you could probably look to spend a little more than settling with JPK, although I appreciate that won’t help you get to Simpkin if that’s what you want.

      Sam_01 · 09/07/2019 at 22:39

Can’t all be sitting as pretty as you Starkers haha! Thanks for the reply though, yeah I guess with option 3 I can even go Sloane and get Whitfield/hurn then just sit on one trade with 80k odd in the bank

    Russty_ · 09/07/2019 at 22:51

Hi Sam, do you play for Rank or Leagues mostly..and how are you sitting on your League ladders?
I'd be tempted to do nothing at all and just leave Kelly on the bench for now, if he's only out for 3, he's there for your first final.
Reckon we need to retain trades as a priority now..if you're trading this week and next week, your finals could be a disaster with none left when players start dropping.

      Sam_01 · 09/07/2019 at 23:02

Only playing for rank rusty, I was considering holding kelly
I can just hold him and do what I was originally planning Parker to Kyle Dunkley put josh Dunkley forward then upgrade burgess to hurn/whitfield

        Russty_ · 09/07/2019 at 23:16

Mate, the only plans I'd be making now would be to hang onto your trades, and anyone getting a game but I mostly play for Leagues, either way, having a trade or 2 left during the finals can help a lot in the critical must win (score well) week.

    Derek · 10/07/2019 at 09:54

You might have to hold Greene, only 4 trades and still need to upgrade Logue.

Kelly out for 3 means he should go, if playing for rank that is too long. Sideways trade to a gun.

Trade Parker to a DPP rookie and add the cash to your warchest. Maybe Mozzie cause he has a great name. This swings Dunkley to forwards but keeps your mid/fwd swing.

Next week Burgess to Whitfield, Logue to D7

    Leave 1 Trade, gulp.

      Sam_01 · 10/07/2019 at 18:34

Yeah well I was also considering just keeping Dunkley/danger etc as a permenant mid then just bringing Marshall in for kelly! I guess the real question is who is going to average morenon the run home
      Marshal/Sloane/Cunnington/Parker/conigs
My money is on Marshall tbh I’m essentially just trading kelly for the highest possible scoring player as i don’t have the trades to get the best players in each position

Blueprime · 09/07/2019 at 22:21

Bines to Cameron (WCE M/F) and Kelly to anyone you want.

Blueprime · 09/07/2019 at 23:18

Cameron likely to play a few and swing gets Dunkley back in forward lines and covers your mids for a while. Clarke probably soon a non playing Loop along with Gardner and Stocker. You won't need another in Bines. Greene might be ok with Kelly out and Cogs also possibly out. Keep your last two for injuries. You will probably need them. Great rank by the way. Keep it up as long as you can. I am ranked 1304, 20K, B Smith and Stack onfield, 6 trades remaining and hanging onto them as long as I can. Good luck.

    Sam_01 · 09/07/2019 at 23:51

Cheers mate! Sounds like your sitting pretty! Yeah i think I’ve decided to hold onto Greene then trade parker to Dunkley or a 102k dpp to cover josh kelly for a couple weeks and hope he is back
Don’t like the Cameron pick although it gives me a swing it will prevent me from finishing my backline with Whitfield/hurn

      Blueprime · 10/07/2019 at 01:32

      Sounds good. Cheers.

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 09/07/2019 at 23:19

Ahh Josh ol mate you do have a habit of getting injured at the most inappropriate time!

Now out for 3 weeks.

What do we do?
Hold or fold?

Like most I have made my way through a few trades so probably need to hold for now.

With Cripps and maybe Danger out last week (Didn't figure on Boak but) I brought in Smurf as some insurance at M9.

Covered for Cripps last week, will cover jelly this week.

So with some insurance can hold jelly for the time being.

What's the rest of the crew doing??

    Sam_01 · 09/07/2019 at 23:54

I think I’ll be holding him, it’s only a grade one tear I’d say 3 weeks is enough time to rest it
Might move him on next week maybe just gonna see how it goes

    Russty_ · 10/07/2019 at 01:54

Hey bud, unlucky with Kelly this week, I'd be thinking about your KPF choices next year, Hawkins was going ok for awhile but seems to have lost confidence since he got shut down a few weeks ago, Cameron has been putrid lately, understand the choice to bring em in when they were in good form but reckon you're always better off with a dpp fwd/ mid or fwd/ ruck for better points.

      Brn · 10/07/2019 at 08:31

3 weeks at giants is more likely 5. Have to trade

    Derek · 10/07/2019 at 10:02

Just bought Kelly in last week. So annoying. My only cover is Clarke/Bewley/Baker.

I’m struggling in most of my leagues, around 6th – 12th, so need a couple of wins, will probably trade to Macrae.

      JohnDJ59 · 10/07/2019 at 16:01

I have the same cover Derek.

Sam_01 · 10/07/2019 at 08:58

Is it possible to win from just inside the top 1k the guy leading the pack seems miles in front of the rest haha

    Brn · 10/07/2019 at 11:44

If you look at the chick who won last week, and how many plqces she moved up, yes it is possible

      Sam_01 · 10/07/2019 at 13:32

Not the news I wanted to hear hahah, got low trades but I might aswell burn them, won’t win with my current team

    Russty_ · 10/07/2019 at 16:50

    Just need to score 2700 2 weeks in a row Sam…easy peasy!….LOL

JohnDJ59 · 10/07/2019 at 14:10

I was looking at my starting team and it wasn't as bad as I remember it. I stuffed up two defenders and two of my midfield keepers, but I nailed my fwd line and rookie players. The keepers and midpricers that I got right were, Cripps, Oliver, M.Crouch, Gawn, Danger, Dunkley, Heeney, Williams, B.Smith, Lycett, Billings. So eleven players I could have just kept, but I traded Heeney to T.Kelly, B.Smith to Laird, Lycett to a rookie and Billings to Walters. The three upgrades were to better players, but didn't really need to be done. My bad picks were, Simpson, Mills, Angus Brayshaw and Cogs was line ball. The first three were traded out in the first four rounds and Cogs when he was injured, but I could/should have kept him as well. That's five trades I could have saved without even going into the players I traded out due to injury and trades that were just dumb. So in summary my starting team wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either, in the end it was my bad trading decisions that derailed my season.

    Sam_01 · 10/07/2019 at 14:14

Normally the case John, I played it pretty well this year but wasted a few on midpricers and culling rookies to early, maybe wasted about 4 or so which would have left me sitting pretty tight now

      JohnDJ59 · 10/07/2019 at 15:59

It is so easy early in the season to think I can improve my side by sideways/upgrading players, but in reality, unless they are glaring mistakes, like starting Simpson, Mills and Brayshaw, it's better to just stick with what you have and concentrate on the rookies. My starting rookies mostly did well, Scrimshaw, Duursma, Hore, Walsh and Constable being the standouts. Not so good as far as the ones I traded in, with only O'Brien and Stack being the only really good ones. There are so many things you have to get right, the starting lineup, trading in the right rookies, identifying the players that aren't going to cut it early, upgrading to the right players and not having too many injuries, all the while conserving trades.

        Russty_ · 10/07/2019 at 16:49

Hi John, yeah it ain't bloody easy this caper, seems to get more challenging each year, hey I read Hore has already had surgery and could miss "up to a month"…not sure what I'll do with him now.

          JohnDJ59 · 10/07/2019 at 17:09

Yes I read on the Dees website that the surgery went well Russty and he should be back in 2-4 weeks. I'll be holding for now, no choice really. Since you don't have Kelly to worry about, I would consider trading Hore if you have 5 trades or over left.

            Russty_ · 10/07/2019 at 17:20

Wish I had 5 trades left!…haha, I'll hold too I think and hope gets back by finals time. Other stuff will no doubt happen before then.

              Brn · 10/07/2019 at 17:37

What does your defence look like?
I'd upgrade him, although it sucks about the price drop. With the current melb set up he is price overs still imo. Dont know your defence situation but he has still made a lot of cash and would be one of your highest priced rookies.

                Russty_ · 10/07/2019 at 21:23

Hey Brn, defence is pretty thin with Duursma and logue on field, at this point hoping for the best and only want to trade if I have to.
I think next year I'm gonna sure up my defence earlier.

DavidC · 10/07/2019 at 14:44

Noble to debut for Collingwood.

Dan · 10/07/2019 at 15:53

I’m considering trading Setterfield to Hanrahan to free up cash. But, I was wondering if anyone knows what Hanrahan’s j/s is like (as it would be good if he kept playing)?

    HarryH76 · 10/07/2019 at 16:48

I doubt I'll trade Setterfield out full stop. DPP with good job security is gold for coverage at this time of year. Only if you're desperate for his cash

AuroraBorealis?! · 10/07/2019 at 16:45

Jeez i'm glad i avoided J.Kelly, i didn't want to go near him bc of his injury risk but i was really sweating watching him tear up the comp like that!

Anyway I'm in a bit of a pickle community, due to price changes i'm just short of upgrading Parker to Zeibell in the forward line, and i need to bring in a MID or DEF rookie to replace Lockhart to get the money for the first trade.

My only three options at this point are Quaynor, Derek egg-smith or Kyle Dunkley.

Any richmond fans know about egg boys JS?
As a pies fan i can't see Quaynor lasting a long time with howe and Greenwood to come back.
Dunkley is a question mark.

Any suggestions guys?
Cheers

    DEE · 10/07/2019 at 20:10

Aurora what was K. Dunkley’s TOG against Carlton on the weekend? Would love to know the stats…

      AuroraBorealis?! · 10/07/2019 at 20:20

According to FanFooty he played 84% of the game

    JohnDJ59 · 10/07/2019 at 22:53

You could go with Heeney or Billings, being cheaper than Zeibell if you don't have them

      AuroraBorealis?! · 10/07/2019 at 22:58

Cheers John, I started with Heeney and Billings is way too unpredictable for my liking, but perhaps i'll consider him

        JohnDJ59 · 11/07/2019 at 00:40

I started with both, but traded Heeney to T.Kelly and Billings to Walters and I wish I hadn't, I could have saved two trades. Kelly and Walters are better overall, but Heeney and Billings were worth keeping. I'm even thinking of getting Heeney back in, just to add insult to injury.

          Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 00:47

Hey John, I started with De Goey over Kelly for some strange reason…and then when De Goey got tagged and scored a 50 odd, I traded him out, turned out to be a good move but was really unnecessary because I should've just started with Kelly.
Also, I traded Williams out for Tom Stewart…shouldn't have done that in hindsight.

    DavidC · 11/07/2019 at 13:14

Richmond should get Jack back this week and maybe Caddy as well so maybe 2 need to go out. Egg was pretty good on debut but think he will be 1 and done. It's all about finding form heading into the finals so the likes of Egg and Naish probably won't feature again unless injuries hit again. Quaynor looked good and with Collingwood out of form he might hold his place for awhile. I'll be looking at him next week.

Brn · 10/07/2019 at 19:12

Have you all given up on 2019 people?

Lets see some comments!

    JohnDJ59 · 10/07/2019 at 22:06

I'm still commenting, but due to lack of trades, my season is kaput, never been in this position before, I usually still have 5-6 left and looking forward to the finals.

    Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 00:55

Plenty of Tumbleweeds blowing down the main street right about now.

    TelescopicCox · 11/07/2019 at 11:10

5 trades left with Hore & Logue on field plus Josh Kelly to deal with. I'll go down swinging but this was a tough season

    The Ranger · 11/07/2019 at 12:08

Even if you're doing badly in your Leagues, and I am in most of mine, you owe it to everyone else to play the season out to the best of your ability.
I have 6 trades left and a team that has too many mid-pricers in it to be called premo but you can still cause some upsets in Finals if you have a bit of luck with injuries, get your Capt pick right and loophole when you can.

Brn · 10/07/2019 at 19:16

I'll start. Rate my team.

Lloyd, Hurn, Laird, Stewart, sicily, Smith (burgess, naish)

Macrae, Fyfe, cripps, oliver, neale, bont merrett, m crouch (clrake, baker, bewley)

Grundy, gawn (sweet)

Danger, marshall, dunkley, boak, kelly, heeney (chol, gardner)

    Brn · 10/07/2019 at 19:19

4 trades left. Will go smith to whitfield when ready. Thoughts?

      Brn · 10/07/2019 at 19:20

      Ranked top 200

        Sam_01 · 10/07/2019 at 21:13

Was gonna say mate you can’t get a much better team hahah! Good job On the rank! I feel like for me if I’m gonna end up with a complete team with one trade left I might aswell have 0 and have a better team just gonna have to hope for the best

    JohnDJ59 · 10/07/2019 at 22:18

Great team Brn, one to be proud of, out of your on field 22 players I have 15, plus Williams, J.Kelly (RIP ) Walters. So didn't quite get there. If you were going to pick a team right now, yours would be close to it, the only players I would change would be Smith to Williams and Merrett to Parker. You could name it the dream team.

    Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 00:54

I rate your team 9 out of 10, 10 if you get rid of smith and get some defensive bench cover.

    Holty01 · 11/07/2019 at 06:54

Nice team Brn. You have missed the carnage of Kelly and possibly Cogs this week which should help that rank of yours. Good luck for the rest of the season mate

    Beezneez · 11/07/2019 at 18:01

Have 19 of your 22 on field and almost the same bench. Williams, B Crouch and Logue (to Whitfield next week). Bont for Jelly this week. Thinking (hoping) my last two out will be B Crouch and B Smith – fingers crossed no carnage but….

Lazza · 10/07/2019 at 20:25

Must say this is probably the best POD I’ve heard since the JR (RIP) days .. actually better… great stuff guys ..
I should have been happy with my starting team… but did three things that I hadn’t previously …
1. Started a mid-pricer in Greene (otherwise Guns and Rookies) and started without a RUC DPP (seriously miss the old 2 + 2 RUC set up) this cost me the opportunity to bring in ROB.
2. The “by” R3 corrections … traded out Yeo, Balta, Hore and Collins … as it turns out all were needless trades .. if only I could have those 4 trades back and the subsequent cash gen in the bank.
3. Ignoring my initial preseason team .. dropped Bont and Fyfe for MCrouch and Martin .. since traded Fyfe in, but still don’t have The Bont
Other big misses and bad trades .. missing Stack and Baker .. had the chance and decided not to… huge errors were Burgess and Corbett… their DPP swayed me..

Good stuff… some upside to the Yeo to Libba trade allowed cash to upgrade Martin and Greene to Neale and TKelly…
But it was my starting team and R3 trades that effed my season..
The good stuff …. Martin to Libba… getting Marshall @ $462k seemed pricey at the time, but wasn’t.

    JohnDJ59 · 10/07/2019 at 22:44

A mix of good and bad there Lazza, our starting lineup is so important, in that if we are happy with it we can conserve trades, but as you said so is trading, out of the ones you listed, I'd say only trading Hore out was a bad decision and starting Burgess and Corbett, but a lot of teams started with them, I stayed clear, one thing I got right was the rookies, the rest not so much.

    Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 00:53

I started that Greene flog too Lazza, not sure why?…traded him out to Scrimshaw…wasted trade cause I never should've started with Greene.
I started with Bines, which enabled me to get ROB, but then traded ROB out for Whitfield, who got injured and then I had to trade him out…not whining…just showing how some decisions can go wrong.
Most people got someone good for their ROB, but I got shit..LOL

Holty01 · 11/07/2019 at 06:50

Will be bringing in Hurn this week. In hindsight I should have bought him in last week and copped the Gawn donut instead of bringing in Clarke. Oh well, hopefully I learn from this for next time.

    The Ranger · 11/07/2019 at 12:20

You're having a great year Holty.
    Jock would be proud.

KSinny · 11/07/2019 at 11:06

Alright community who do I bring in for Jelly? I know the obvious puck is probably Neale but want to hear your thoughts. Already have Macrae, Fyfe, Cripps, Oliver, Sloane, gaff, and M. Crouch. I've got 5 trades and 30k. Also I don't have Dunkley in the toward line.

    TelescopicCox · 11/07/2019 at 11:11

I think go with the obvious pick in Neale. Otherwise I'd rank the best trade in options below:

    1. Neale
    2. Bont
    3. JPK

    Derek · 11/07/2019 at 11:43

Neale is averaging 123. That’s good enough.

TelescopicCox · 11/07/2019 at 11:13

Ranked 16K with 5 trades left. Is Hore & Jelly to Sicily & JPK worth it to keep approx 200K bank? I could then put it on Logue in a week or 2 as my final DEF upgrade with 2 trades to spare

    Sam_01 · 11/07/2019 at 11:26

Sounds good to me mate both of thOes two options are great value at the moment

    Derek · 11/07/2019 at 11:38

JPK’s best days are behind him

James · 11/07/2019 at 12:14

Hi all. 5 trades left with 75k. Appreciate any advice.

Lloyd, Williams, Sicily Logue
Houli, Rich, Blakley Naish

J. Kelly, Cripps, Macrae, Neale. D. Clarke
Oliver, Yeo, M. Crouch, Steele. J. Rowbottom
B. Bewley

Grundy, Gawn Bines

Danger, Lycett, Marshall. Young
Heeney, R. Gray, TMac. Gardner

Obviously got J. Kelly and TMac to deal with.
Was thinking Kelly to either Bont, Cunnington or Merrett
And TMac to T. Kelly or Walters.
What's people's thoughts on this or anyone got a better suggestion?

    TBone_9 · 11/07/2019 at 12:25

Gday James. Team looks really good and love the POD options you have too. If you have the money to do so then J. Kelly to Bont and TMac up to T.Kelly or Walters looks ideal. Then just hold onto those last 3 trades until you have to mate. Good luck on the run in!

    redherringfc · 11/07/2019 at 14:56

It looks like T Kelly has dropped off a bit and isn’t the “must have” he was earlier in the season.

I’m in the same boat and am going for Ziebell (and not going to get T Kelly at all) 4 of his last 5 have been over 110 (basically since Higgins went down) and his other score was an 80.

Having said that, watch T Kelly average 140 over the rest of the season.

TBone_9 · 11/07/2019 at 12:32

Gday boys! 7 trades left with 250k ITB.

Thinking of just going J. Kelly to Bont this week, see how Whitfield goes. Maybe give him another week afterwards if he looks up to it, otherwise Bewley out and swing Answerth into the mids and pick up Laird or underpriced Ryan. Hopefully next week once he’s maxed out going to trade Stack up to underpriced Merrett or Duncan. Leaves me with 4 trades left for the rest of the year with great cover on bench (Logue, Answerth, Clarke, Parker, Chol)

Could also go Parker to Hanrahan this week and go get any premos in for last def and mid spot but would be down to 3 trades instead of 4. What do you reckon is the right move guys? Cheers

    JohnDJ59 · 11/07/2019 at 12:46

Hi TBone, just my opinion, but I would save a trade and keep Stack, he's scoring well enough to be a M8.

      TBone_9 · 11/07/2019 at 13:16

Hey DJ, honestly he’s been doing so well I half feel I should do the same thing! After Bewley goes up to a def premo next week I may not have any money to upgrade Stack anyways haha. But it may be too tempting if Merrett or Duncan drop below 480k. What are your trade plans going forward mate?

        JohnDJ59 · 11/07/2019 at 13:38

TBone, even though you have seven trades left, which is a great position to be in by the way, they can disappear very quickly, save a trade and keep Stack, you can thank me later on when you are playing finals and you have a extra trade up your sleeve. I am speaking from past seasons and this season. Every other season, I have always had at least 4 trades left when the finals started, it's a great feeling, one season I still had two left going into the GF. This year I tried something different and traded whenever I needed to without worrying about how many trades I had left, so now my season is just about over. As for my trading plan, I have to decide between getting in one of three players, Sicily, Bont or Heeney. I'm not mad about Sicily but he is good value, I had Bont in my preseason team and he's always been a upgrade target and I traded Heeney out early for T.Kelly ( one of my wasted trades ).

        JohnDJ59 · 11/07/2019 at 13:48

Hey TBone, my trading plans were to not trade until the finals, but I have so many injuries and dropped players I might have to do one this week. Looking at Sicily who I don't really trust, but he is good value, Bont who was in my team most of the preseason and has been a upgrade target ever since and Heeney who I traded out early in the season for T.Kelly.

        JohnDJ59 · 11/07/2019 at 14:21

Hey TBone, I was just going to hold, but injuries and dropped players from last week have my team on life support, so I'm thinking of getting in one of Sicily, who I don't really trust, Bont who I had in my preseason team and Heeney who I traded out early in the season for T.Kelly.

          TBone_9 · 11/07/2019 at 15:32

Hey mate. Honestly can’t go wrong getting in Bont any way you can! Sicily’s value is also hard to pass on, surely Clarko can’t have him anywhere but the defence for the rest of the year!

    Beezneez · 11/07/2019 at 17:45

In a similar position T Bone. 8 trades and sitting 600 odd – dropped last week due to having Gawn, Boak and Cripos out. Had planned on getting Sicily and Whitfield over the next two weeks. I'm going to do the Jelly to Bont trade and a downgrade to enable Lockhart to Whitfield next week. Definitely wait for Whitfield cos he has a BE of 160. Trades are at a premium – look what happened last week. That should leave me with 5 trades although I might have to upgrade Young and Gardner on the fwd bench. I had planned all year for 6 trades left but was probably a bit ambitious. I traded Stack for Marshall diring his bye round. Sorry to have traded him but I needed Marshall as my last fwd – no harm done.

    Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 18:17

Kelly to Bont sounds good TBone…how you ranking this year mate?

John · 11/07/2019 at 13:01

GWS-"Great Waste of my Supercoach" side…Josh Kelly, Lachie Whitfield, Matt deBoer…arghh!!!

DavidC · 11/07/2019 at 13:03

Hugh Goddard to debut for Carlton. Ian Hill for GWS and Noble for Collingwood. Some fresh blood for downgrades if people are needing cash in the next few weeks. If anyone still has trades that is.

Would we say jelly is a must trade out?
Only have 2 trades left but I am full premo

    Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 17:43

I'd only trade when you had to from here, if you're already full premo, you don't have to, other things will happen.

      Jimmy · 11/07/2019 at 17:57

I have cover in the mid, just not sure it’s worth not trading and giving up the points I’ll be missing out on in order to keep trades.

        Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 18:13

Oh ok you'll be using cover, I thought you were full premo with kelly out, up tp you mate but I'd still want hang onto the trades, Kelly might be back in 3, depends how you're poised on your league ladder too I guess.

hedski · 11/07/2019 at 18:28

Ryder in the extended squad for Sunday is a bit of a worry for us Lycett owners.
Cripps back, Parker out for those who still have him.
Hopefully Chol holds his spot with the tigers ins.
Otherwise teams look good, now let's wait for the late out carnage.

    Saritz · 11/07/2019 at 18:31

Logue! A big out for a lot of ppl

      Holty01 · 11/07/2019 at 18:34

      Is he injured?

        Saritz · 11/07/2019 at 18:35

        Not sure. Just says "omitted"

          Holty01 · 11/07/2019 at 18:42

Omitted usually means dropped. Ross is one strange individual. Been playing back and was outstanding. Moved him forward last week and struggled. Surely he can be moved back to the backline.

      hedski · 11/07/2019 at 19:20

Oh crap not sure how I missed that one!!!
      Chaos rules……

      Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 19:21

Bloody crappin hell!…gonna have to trade now

        Holty01 · 11/07/2019 at 19:32

I was going Answerth to Hurn. Now may go Logue.

          Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 19:37

Maybe a good call Holty, Answerth looked pretty good last week.

          JohnDJ59 · 11/07/2019 at 19:41

I traded out Answerth for Logue two weeks ago, another trade to add to the dumb trade list. I thought my season was kaput, but now it's officially over.

            Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 20:02

Think I might be joining you there John, gonna need a lot of luck from here.

              JohnDJ59 · 11/07/2019 at 20:40

I was hanging on by my fingernails, but last week and now this has me falling through the trap door. No finals for me, even the one I'm coming 3rd in won't save me and frankly the bottom eight ones are just a waste of time, I've won a few of them after coming 9th and got no satisfaction from it at all, I'd prefer if they didn't have them.

                Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 21:09

Yeah bottom 8 champ is like the best loser lol, one thing this year has taught me is ..no more sideways trading, and be more patient, conserve trades cause even if the pre-bye leaves you down in rank or in leagues, you can come back in the post bye period but only with trades in hand.

                  JohnDJ59 · 11/07/2019 at 22:33

You nailed it right there Russty.

            Holty01 · 11/07/2019 at 22:12

Hey John. My season is getting to that point as well. Was very solid all year but have wasted some trades in the last month which has hurt my progress. Still happy with my team but will have to hold these next few weeks I think just to be safe.

              JohnDJ59 · 11/07/2019 at 22:30

Hi Holty hang in there mate, I think there could be a few teams in dire straits, having trades on hand, something I don't have, will be all the difference. I started going down hill during the bye rounds, I improved in rank and won over half my league games, but did some silly trades that I really regret doing, plus I used my full quota, something I don't normally do. I'm going to have to be more disciplined next year, make sure I have 8 trades left coming out of the bye rounds like I have most years.

Jimmy1er · 11/07/2019 at 18:33

Last mid spot, gaff or the bont?

    Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 19:36

    Reckon Bont's in better form.

    Beezneez · 12/07/2019 at 12:54

I have Logue at D6 and was all set to go Kelly to Bont and Logue to Quaynor. Realised if I got Gaff instead of Bont I could go Logue to Sicily. Still liking Bont more and plan to get Whitfield ahead of Sicily and can use Quaynor as bench cover if he keeps getting games.

iLoveNMFC · 11/07/2019 at 19:13

Went Gawn to Lycett last week and thinking of getting Gawn back in soon but a bit low on cash. Go Kelly to Bont or to Cunners/JPK and pocket the extra cash just in case?

    Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 19:36

    The Bont's looking good lately.

Bobby · 11/07/2019 at 19:20

Hey community currently ranked 429, What should my priority be this week, with 8 trades remaining.

Trade Brodie Smith to Hurn

or

Trade Lycett (Who i got in for gawn last week) back to Gawn

The second option would also allow me to go Smith to Whitfield next week after his price drop

Cheers

    Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 21:21

I'd wait and see if Lycett plays first Bobby, he might miss, Smith to Whitfield sounds good after he he shows this week he's back to his best.

    Lekdog · 12/07/2019 at 07:31

I prefer a) seems to get you full premo the fastest

Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 19:55

Finch out plum in front for a Duck…not a good start!..and now Warner ouch

    Tommy · 11/07/2019 at 20:29

    We have no chance

      Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 21:19

Don't think we're done yet Tommy, when there's wickets in hand there's hope, just need to post some sort of decent total and then bowl well.

      Russty_ · 11/07/2019 at 22:19

Looks like you were right Tommy, It's gonna be a NZ v England Final…I'll be barracking for the Kiwis, they're almost Australian lol

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 11/07/2019 at 23:00

Ok decision.time. <img draggable="false" class="emoji" alt="πŸ••" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/12.0.0-1/svg/1f555.svg">

Logue is my D6 (final rook on ground) but being dropped facing a <img draggable="false" class="emoji" alt="🍩" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/12.0.0-1/svg/1f369.svg">

Running a bit low on trades so choices are.

Use 1 trade. Trade naish to quaynor put logue on bench. Quaynor d6 onn field rook.

Or

2 trades.
Trade J Cameron to Hurn via Dpp., logue on bench.
Bewley to hill, loop hill, setterfield and Clarke one of which has to be M8 or F6 till finals.

So it is either quaynor or one of the other 3 on field.
Who do you think scores better?

    JohnDJ59 · 11/07/2019 at 23:12

Option one, use just the one trade.

    Lekdog · 12/07/2019 at 07:30

    1

Whitey · 12/07/2019 at 06:45

Only problem with option 1 is that you are relying on both the def rookies getting a game for the next few weeks. If both don’t play you will be in the same situation again.

DavidC · 12/07/2019 at 07:23

Talk of Logue possibly being a late in for Ryan

    DavidC · 12/07/2019 at 07:27

Reported by Jordon McArdle on Twitter earlier
Could Luke Ryan be the one to make way for Ryan Nyhuis? Ryan and Michael Walters both missed a large chunk of Fremantle’s open session at Cockburn this morning. The intercept-marking defender re-emerged after about 10 minutes before doing some sprints away from the main group.

      Lekdog · 12/07/2019 at 07:29

Damo reckons it could be Crowden to come in over Logue

KSinny · 12/07/2019 at 09:41

Hey community would really appreciate some advice on my team. I've got 5 trades and $31k in the bank. Have Logue as D6 and with him dropped have no cover. Was going to go Kelly to Neale but not sure what to do now??

DEF: Sicily, Houli, Ryan, Stewart, Hurn, Logue (Naish, Gardner)

MID: Macrae, Cripps, Gaff, Sloane, M. Crouch, Fyfe, Jelly, Oliver (Bewly, Scott, Clarke)

RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Bines)

FWD: Danger, Heeney, Kelly, Boak, Marshell, Hawkins (Chol, Young)

    Brn · 12/07/2019 at 12:24

Hmm some rough maths says you would have around 380k for a defender if you trade kelly to sloane and logue out. Don't think its worth picking up a midpricer, because all you have around that mark is b smith, harry taylor, j silvani, t clurey etc – you may as well take a punt on quaynor over those guys, but they could be worth a punt due to JS. For a little bit more cash you could go impy, ellis, or mcgovern who i really like as smokies but still probs not top 10, and this would mean looking at going kelly to someone cheaper than sloane (jpk, taranto with kelly out, pendles or sheil ).

You can trade to upgrade with more $ next week, or you can trade something like Kelly to Pendles (who has played very well apart from a few down games), and then use the $430k odd to bring in either J McGovern or Harris Andrews and hope they recapture their previous averages of around 90+.

Bottom line is you need to get rid of kelly and logue, and then your team will be looking great.

      Brn · 13/07/2019 at 08:24

Wondering if you took the advice. McGovern scored 94 and Pendles scored 119

Scarpi · 12/07/2019 at 16:23

Dear Community I have 6 trades left and 93k in the bank not sure what to do?
Any Advice would help.

DEF: LIoyd, Laird, Ryan, Houli, Sicily, Louge ( Rotham, Naish)
MID: Gaff, B Crouch, Taranto, Cripps, Neale, Fyfe, Dangerfield, Macrae ( Answerth, scott, Bewley)
RUCK: Gawn, Grundy (O'Brien)
FWD: Dunkley, Boak, Daniel, Kelly, Heeney, Chol ( Young, Bines)
