HOW GOOD IS WINNING? This week Lekdog and Patch channel their inner ScoMo and ask How Good Things Are. How good are last-minute goals to win games of football? How good are Marc Murphy and Shaun McKernan? How good is Supercoach?

How good is Scott Lycett? How good is Rowan (my boat) Marshall? How good is Caleb Daniel’s four week hamstring injury? The answer to the last one is bad, but the boys address the rest of the questions – plus some more – in this week’s brand-spanking, beau-dazzling, russle-raiding podcast.

So, as the winners of the week, Patch and Lek leave those losers who follow loser teams – and Kev – behind and embark off on their own, and of course get horrible lost and sidetracked as a result.

Is Daniel >> Ziebell an option?

Trying to avoid Dunkley as it would impact other upgrades I still need to do… Current forward line is:

Dangerfield, T. Kelly, Boak, Marshall, Daniel, Heeney (Setterfield, Gardner)

    SC_Kev7 · 02/07/2019 at 08:04

Has averaged 111 since Shaw took over. Playing him in the guts and I don't reckon that will change. Good option at 511k

      Patch · 02/07/2019 at 19:31

      Agreed, I like it Connor

    Derek · 02/07/2019 at 14:41

When is Higgins back? 4 weeks?

Loop · 02/07/2019 at 06:53

JR Community Groups rd 15 ranking = 1 !!!!

    Lekdog · 05/07/2019 at 16:59

    Hohooooo

DEE · 02/07/2019 at 09:02

GM lads, quick question…. Is it too late to jump on Logue this week?

    Patch · 02/07/2019 at 19:31

Probably is, Dee, I wouldn't go too near to him

KSinny · 02/07/2019 at 11:58

Hey community would really appreciate some advice on my team. I've got 7 trades and $31k in the bank. Thinking of going Duursma to Chol via Gardner and then Answerth to Hurn.

DEF: Sicily, Houli, Ryan, Stewart, Duursma, Logue (Naish, Answerth)

MID: Macrae, Cripps, Gaff, Sloane, M. Crouch, Fyfe, Jelly, Oliver (Bewly, Scott, Clarke)

RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Bines)

FWD: Danger, Heeney, Kelly, Boak, Marshell, Hawkins (Gardner, Young)

    The mighty Wokkas · 02/07/2019 at 12:38

You playing for leagues or overall rank?

      KSinny · 02/07/2019 at 13:32

      Rank

    Sam_01 · 02/07/2019 at 14:05

    Solid trades mate
Looking to lock away big whitty aswell when he’s back no doubt

    Patch · 02/07/2019 at 19:32

    Like it Sinny, fire away

Sam_01 · 02/07/2019 at 14:17

Would love some advice community currently rank 975 6 trades 108k in the bank current team
Back: lloyd, Sicily, Williams, Stewart, laird, logue (Gardner/burgess)
Mid: kelly, Neale, bont, macrae, cripps, treloar, Mcrouch,Fyfe (baker/stocker/bewley)
Ruck:grundy Gawn (fort)
Fwd: Boak, kelly, danger, heeny, Dunkley, Greene (Parker/bines

Currently thinking Marshall needs to come into my team with his run home, however if I move green to him after down grading Parker it will leave me with two trades left overall as upgrading logue will need 2 also
Is it worth the risk? Or should I just go Parker down next week and grab hurn/Whitfield for logue and leave Greene up forward with 4 trades to go ?

    Derek · 02/07/2019 at 14:57

If Greene stays fit and gets a few games into him, he is a decent option.

Have a look at GWS last 4 games, 3 at home.

      Sam_01 · 02/07/2019 at 19:00

I just feel like at Greene’s best he will only average 95 on the way home where as Marshall could go 110 easily

        Russty_ · 02/07/2019 at 22:33

A 95 average is usually better than being in the wilderness at finals time with no trades left.

    Patch · 02/07/2019 at 19:33

With so few trades, I'd be looking at the latter option. As much as you need Marshall, you need the trades more in my opinion.

      Sam_01 · 02/07/2019 at 19:50

Alright fellas I’ll take your word, I guess I’d rather have Toby scoring spud 70s on field than having injury donuts on the field in the later rounds considering our rookies suck haha

        Russty_ · 02/07/2019 at 22:12

Think I agree with Patchy here Sam, hang on to those trades and see what happens, plenty of time to go yet, no trades at finals time usually spells doom without excellent cover.
If you really had to trade I'd say Lycett over Marshall for the cover.

          Sam_01 · 04/07/2019 at 08:36

          Thanks Russty!

Lazza · 02/07/2019 at 14:39

With cash gen an issue and no obvious rookie replacements, anyone thinking about a $21k upgrade of Duursmaa to Hartlett as D6/D7 looping with Logue?

    Derek · 02/07/2019 at 15:47

not with Whitfield back this week and about to become affordable in a couple of weeks

    Russty_ · 02/07/2019 at 15:50

Wish I could afford luxuries like that Laz…things are looking a bit dire this week.

      Lazza · 02/07/2019 at 19:40

Not sure its a luxury Russty… If I take Hartlett it will be at the expense of getting one of Laird or Hurn or Whitfield.. will be relying on taking the best score from Hartlett and Logue each week to cover D6 vs one of those premo's .. but at a ~$170k cheaper price..

        Russty_ · 02/07/2019 at 22:30

It'd be a luxury for me Lazza, with the way Duur fredsma's gone the last few weeks, Makes Hartlett look very good with his 3 round av of 97.
I have to deal with Daniel this week too. Didn't even think guys that short had hamstrings, just one inch springs made by Fischer Price.

          Lazza · 03/07/2019 at 17:25

FN funny Russ 🙂 … he must have got his helmet strap caught in his socks …

    redherringfc · 02/07/2019 at 17:27

If it pays off, you’ll be laughing.

I’ve just about cooked my season, so risks like that are about the only way I can make finals and then still be relevant.

    Patch · 02/07/2019 at 19:34

Hmmmmm – I'd almost loop Duursma and Logue for a few more weeks and wait for Whitfield to drop more for mine, but if you want to then fire away

Russty_ · 02/07/2019 at 15:29

Jeez Daniel going down is a bummer, not sure whether to hold or trade, I guess if Gawn misses that'll help make the decision…although if he only misses 3, he'll be back for round 19.
With injury clouds over Danger, Cripps Gawn and Daniel gone, what are people doing this week?

Can't help thinking this won't be the last week where this sort of thing happens..trades are really gold now.

    JohnDJ59 · 02/07/2019 at 16:04

    Holding.

      Russty_ · 02/07/2019 at 16:06

Hey John, I made you a trade offer in JR Legends if you're interested.

        JohnDJ59 · 02/07/2019 at 16:18

Thanks for the offer Russty, it's a fair one as well, but I don't mind having Worpel in my team. Funny I was looking for McEvoy, now I know why I couldn't find him.

          Russty_ · 02/07/2019 at 16:40

No worries John, I released Gunston as well so he'll become a free agent, thought you could pick him up for Worps, but all good.

    Rocksta_ · 02/07/2019 at 18:56

Hi Russty. I have all four of those players that you mentioned. I’m resigned to the fact that at least 3 of them will miss this week. What am I going to do?………..No Idea!

      JohnDJ59 · 02/07/2019 at 19:18

I'd trade out Daniel, depending on your bench cover and amount of trades left.

      Russty_ · 02/07/2019 at 22:05

It's a tough week for decisions Rocksta, how many trades you playing with mate?
Happy I got Lycett in 2 weeks ago now, he's mighty expensive now.

        Rocksta_ · 02/07/2019 at 22:54

Only 5 I’m afraid mate, with still one rookie to upgrade. I’ve gone hard and managed to get my rank to just outside the top 600. The risk was always going to be injuries and unfortunately they have come sooner than expected.
Thus the reason I have no idea what to do. Replacing Daniel I can live with, but I simply cannot see how Gawn gets up for the weekend after being on crutches yesterday. And that’s assuming that both Danger and Cripps get up. I can cover Cripps, but not Danger or Gawn.
Looks like my season has come down to what happens over the next few days. Essentially I need Danger and Gawn to get up or it’s plummeting down the rankings we go.

          Rocksta_ · 02/07/2019 at 23:02

Actually, I’ve just realised that if either of Danger or Gawn get up, I may be able to avoid a donut . Would still have to use 2 trades though.

          Russty_ · 02/07/2019 at 23:14

Gawny has been icing his ankle every 2 hours ever since it happened, even getting woken up in the middle of the night…sounds like he really wants to play. Fingers crossed, but common sense says Preuss may get the call up this week cause Gawn will be bloody tired even if his ankle feels ok.
Daniel to Lycett and Young to Chol are good trades unless Chol gets canned in a week or 2, the way they're talking about him, he's still a work in progress rather than a lock in the side…it's a tough call.

    Patch · 02/07/2019 at 19:35

Danger to play, apparently, and Cripps with a fitness test. Daniel has to go for mine, the others are all holds

      Rocksta_ · 02/07/2019 at 20:06

      Cheers Lads.
Presuming Gawn out as well, makes the trades easy………Daniel to Lycett, Young to Choi. The Young trade is a waste but the only way I can cover Gawn and Daniel

      Russty_ · 02/07/2019 at 22:03

I hear that Patch, only problem is, trades are low and if Gawn gets up, I could cover Daniel with Parker, as scary as that sounds..he does have a couple of 60's in his last 2 weeks.
Only playing for Leagues with the goal of making half my League finals and a few more to boot if it turns out ok.
Selections will make all the difference.

Dougal · 02/07/2019 at 15:49

Hore to hurn or Whitfield?

    Ja191 · 02/07/2019 at 19:17

    Hurn

    MAD MIKE · 03/07/2019 at 10:56

    Whitfield higher ceiling… easy choice.

Hazey1977 · 02/07/2019 at 16:18

Anyone got the B/E's for Whitfield in both SC and Dream Team? Not sure what to wait or use the cash from Daniel trade

    Jace · 02/07/2019 at 16:33

    B/E in SC is 154 don't know DT B/E

    Dunc · 04/07/2019 at 09:07

Hazey, type 'footywire breakevens' into Google and you'll never have to ask again. It's an easy way to see all the B/E's.

    KSinny · 04/07/2019 at 09:44

Just search up "Whitfield supercoach" on Google.

JR SURVIVOR GROUP – CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

I'm reminded of the story of two men walking in the forest and they come across a big angry bear.
One of the men bends down and starts to tie his shoelaces, the other man says to him, "what are you crazy, you can't think you can outrun a bear do you?"
The other man's response is "who said i have to outrun the bear, i only have to be faster than you".

Round 15 saw the start of the JR Survivor Champion of Champions playoffs.

Not everyone who qualified has signed onto the new group, im afraid the show must go on.

We have assembled 17 of the finest players from the community to battle it out for the Ultimate Survivor.

Rules are very similar to the qualifying groups.

The TWO lowest scoring teams each week will be eliminated from the competition, unless you have immunity Immunity comes from being the highest score the previous week.

In the event of two teams being the same weekly score, either for top score or the elimination score, the team with the highest overall rank will either get immunity or survive elimination.

Two teams eliminated each week until we have THREE remaining for the grand final in Round 22.

This weeks eliminated teams are:

The Nakia 3310s (2157) and uDonkey (2166).

Bad luck fellas.

The bullet dodger this week was Chartomben (2198)

The highest score for the week and the winner of Immunity for next week was Kezzam with an outstanding score of 2526

Good lucky everyone.

    Loop · 03/07/2019 at 05:24

I like your story, thats what I did this week, looked at the ones I hoped I could outrun. I've been lucky so far, it wont last but I'm enjoying it while it does. Great concept Derek.

    Darren · 03/07/2019 at 10:50

My Punt Rd Paupers middle of the road at 2305 so survive another week. Thinking 2300+ from now on just to stay in
Great competition Derek – appreciate your efforts

Swoosh111 · 02/07/2019 at 16:56

I have Whitfield, Williams and Houli … and getting dismayed at Houli's scores since Short has come back. So I am thinking of going Houli & Begley to Ryan & Ziebell. Thoughts?

    Patch · 02/07/2019 at 19:35

Luxury trades … make sure you've got enough left but otherwise reasonably solid moves Swoosha

    DavidC · 03/07/2019 at 06:32

"dismayed at Houli's scores since Short has come back" … Short has been back for 1 week????

GloryDays94 · 02/07/2019 at 20:28

Hey Guys!
Haven't posted for a fair while, how are all of you doing this year?
I went up 6k spots on the weekend from 12k to 6kis after a 2, 517.

Would love some feedback on how to finish my team off in coming weeks!

Lloyd, Laird, Williams, Hurn, Duursma, Logue (Naish, Burgess)

Cripps, MacRae, Fyfe, Neale, Sloane, M.Crouch, Bontempelli, Treloar (Bewley, Clarke, Scott)

Gawn, Goldy (Sweet)

Dunkley, Dangerfield, Marshall, Kelly, Boak, Heeney (Young, Gardner)

6 trades left and 45k

Cheers Guys

    Whitey · 02/07/2019 at 21:17

Easy to say but Duurma and Logue need to be upgraded but cash gen is always a problem. Whitfield will be low 500's in two weeks, so would aim for him. Need to be careful with only 6 trades though because there is not a lot of backup on your bench if a def or fwd get injured. Could bring in Chol for Burgess, swing Gardner back but only makes you 80k. Also maybe just hold for a week or two so you don't run out of trades. Tough money gen year this year.

      GloryDays94 · 02/07/2019 at 21:42

Yeah I plan on holding for a week or two. Then will finish off my team. Feel confident I can score well enough with my current team until then.

    Russty_ · 02/07/2019 at 22:09

Hi GD nice to see you mate, I'm going ok after last week, around 6k also, after a shocking start lol, after week 1, I was 66k.
Great score last week for you!…with only 6 left, I'd consider doing nothing, unless you have to this week.

      GloryDays94 · 03/07/2019 at 08:29

Cheers Russty_ been a crap year for most of it. The byes and last week helper my rank go from 24k to where I am now. Hoping the rest of the year goes the same. Hopefully we both make a push up into the top 5k .

    MAD MIKE · 03/07/2019 at 10:55

You haven't left any real room for inhury and still ned the 2 further defensive upgrades. I'd be looking at Hurn and Whitfild to fill those last 2 if you can get enough casg with 4 trades saving 2 for injury. Then set and forget!!

Jimbo · 02/07/2019 at 20:35

Need help guys, looking for a lock F6 I already have
Danger,Dunkley,Kelly,Boak,Marshall.
I can afford anyone just not sure who’s best scorer from here on in any advice would be appreciated

    GloryDays94 · 02/07/2019 at 20:49

    Lycett, Heeney, Ziebell or Parish

      Ja191 · 03/07/2019 at 09:51

      Ziebell for me

Russty_ · 02/07/2019 at 22:40

Anyone from JR Legends Draft interested in acquiring McEvoy?..I'm interested in a fwd in exchange if anyone wants a good solid Ruck going forward, cheers guys.
Shoot me an offer.

    hedski · 03/07/2019 at 01:49

Bruest is on the table if you want him mate.
Other option is Membry but I know you don't want a saint

Bill · 02/07/2019 at 22:55

helpful podcast, thanks

Steeeve · 03/07/2019 at 00:10

Kinda hoping gawn misses a week. Will reward those of us who have held ROB.

    DavidC · 03/07/2019 at 06:39

ROB's ownership is only 11% and some of them will have him at R2 and not R3. There will be lots of donuts if Gawn is out.

    MAD MIKE · 03/07/2019 at 14:04

    AND ZAK CLARKE TOO

shiel be right · 03/07/2019 at 09:40

Hi Community – Felt like the team was doing well but the wheels are falling off & need some advice on how to polish up the team.

8 TRADES – $291,000 IN BANK

DEF: lloyd, houli, laird, ryan, scicily, lougue – rotham, naish
MID: Parker, fyfe, cripps, oliver, coniglio, b croach, shiel, dahlhouse – clarke, hately, stocker
RUCK: gawn, grundy – clarke
FWD: Dangerfield, boak, kelly, gray, heeney, cameron – young, gardner

    MAD MIKE · 03/07/2019 at 10:50

i'd upgrade Dalhouse to an uber premium like Neale or Macrae.

Otherise wait for the logue cash the fatten up and bring in Hurn or Whitfield.

Sometimes its hard to polish a turd but you have enough trades to make some luxury moves. Nice team brother.

      Sam_01 · 03/07/2019 at 12:25

Agree I’d probably look at Dunkley in the guts even if you want to maintain your swing

Sam_01 · 03/07/2019 at 09:56

With Bellchambers down and out community Zac Clarke could get the main gig, if we have a dpp in bines and can downgrade to him or a fort in my situation and can straight swap, he will provide ruck cover for the rest of the season. Thoughts?

    TRIGGA_HAPPY · 03/07/2019 at 13:56

If Gawn is ruled out is probably the option I will take.

Be the only bomber ruck till season end and a good foil till gawn gets back on his feet or if Grundy misses a match on.the run home.

Never can predict or tell when injuries will strike.

MAD MIKE · 03/07/2019 at 10:35

Which option is better community?

Option 1:
Trade Brayshaw and Sidebottom out and bring in Neale and Treloar/Oliver

Option 2:
Upgrade Hatley or Clarke to Neale and try loophole Sidebottom and Brayshaw. Having a 23rd luxury premium on bench?

    Sam_01 · 03/07/2019 at 12:25

    Personally I’d take option one
Treloar/Oliver will most likely score 20-30 more than Brayshaw and Steele unless you reckon there will be a storm of injuries in your mids

    Derek · 03/07/2019 at 14:36

    Option 1

Waste loopholing midfielders, leave that for Buddy, Cameron, JJK types in the forward line. Players who can go big or bust

      MAD MIKE · 03/07/2019 at 16:27

Option 1 it is, thanks community!! Love your feedback

    Russty_ · 03/07/2019 at 19:51

I concur with these other blokes MM, Premo-ing up your midfield is the go.

Swoopsta · 03/07/2019 at 10:41

is it too late to jump on the R.Marshall bandwagon?

    MAD MIKE · 03/07/2019 at 10:46

I'd go Lycett with no Ryder he is going huge. Hit outs monstrous cos hes so big and possession wise as well. He grabs the ball out the ruck alot for contested possies.

      Swoopsta · 03/07/2019 at 11:30

Is Ryder definitely not coming back this season? that's my concern

        MAD MIKE · 03/07/2019 at 13:18

I am a Port supporter. We cannot play with 2 ruckman, I think he is gone, and will not be at port next year either

          MAD MIKE · 03/07/2019 at 13:39

Ryder back to Essendon and Orazio Fantasia to Port

            TheLostBoys · 03/07/2019 at 18:59

I'd love to see Paddy back at Essendon, but Oraaaaazzzzziiiiooo aint going nowhere 🙂

      Derek · 03/07/2019 at 14:39

He has had a couple of easy opponents last few games, but they don’t get much harder.

    Russty_ · 03/07/2019 at 19:47

If you have the trades and the moolah Swoopsta, get the best you can get this time of year I think..if trade numbers and ruck cover isn't an issue first, maybe Lycett a better option if you need ruck coverage.

The Ranger · 03/07/2019 at 11:39

What's the verdict on Chols JS?
Got no cover on the fwd bench and can't afford another premo yet so just need a donut avoidance player to sit there for the rest of the season.
Looking at Chol, or Cameron but both look a bit shaky.
Rose is another option but I'd rather not pay the extra coin.

    Sam_01 · 03/07/2019 at 12:23

Chol should be good for the next couple of weeks I’d say mate
I don’t think nank and roo are back for another 2
I think he has taken Baltas spot?

    DavidC · 03/07/2019 at 13:45

Ian Hill looks like he might debut for GWS this week. Has handy mid/fwd status, layed a lot of tackles and kicked a few goals in the neafl last week so should score ok.

Bobby · 03/07/2019 at 14:35

Hey community quick question

Im ranked 681 with 10 Trades remaining

would it be smart of me to go Daniel to Marshall and Gawn to Goldy if Gawn misses, will be able to trade gawn back in the following week

Cheers

    MAD MIKE · 03/07/2019 at 14:38

Id trade Gawn to Lycett, with a breakeven of -8 expected to increase 55k… good cash generation

      One Touch Wonder · 03/07/2019 at 15:31

now that is a SHARK MOVE

    The Ranger · 03/07/2019 at 15:38

Nice work Bobby, 10 trades left is awesome for that rank position at this time of the year.
Gawn to Lycett and Daniel to Marshall then get Gawn back later and loophole Lycett.

Match FIXing SON · 03/07/2019 at 14:44

Thinking of trading Gawn out with a breakeven of 212 for Lycett with a breakeven of -8. Then in 2 weeks time trade Gawn back after gaining 150k??

    KSinny · 03/07/2019 at 20:59

If u have plenty of trades

MAD MIKE · 03/07/2019 at 14:46

You have to have balls to make this move & Match FIXing SON i believe you have coconuts. Lekdog & Patch get around this.

Waiman 2IC · 03/07/2019 at 14:49

That is a bold move SON I hope you are at full premium and have trades to burn? You would be better off wiating for a rookie to fatten up like Hatley, Clarke, Logue, Other Clarke and the likes. Deinfitely some fixing here, I take ,y shoes and socks off to you mate!

D-ROD · 03/07/2019 at 15:03

I would be careful Son this is a fast tracked trap to running out of trades. Better off to hold Gawn. I'd only trade him if you are gonna get a dognut and are playing for overall rank. If just going for league glory you must not trade and weather the storm.

One Touch Wonder · 03/07/2019 at 15:25

13 trades and $238,400 in bank. going for leagues, 2462 last week.

my SHARK MOVES this week are going to be mumford to NicNat and Bsmith to whitfield.

    The Ranger · 03/07/2019 at 15:41

    13 trades left!
Bloody hell One Touch did you forget to play for a few rounds or something?
NicNat is ballsy. And surely you should wait a week or two on Whitfield? b.e 154

      One Touch Wonder · 03/07/2019 at 22:30

Remember last time he came back with a massive BE. Scored 170.

    MAD MIKE · 03/07/2019 at 16:09

Great White Shark move on Nic Nat… love it! Only worry is how much game time they give him. Last year when he came back it was a slow grind

      One Touch Wonder · 03/07/2019 at 22:35

He scored 99 from 56% tog last week.

    Russty_ · 03/07/2019 at 20:03

Nic score last week OTW, how you travelling this year rank-wise?…great to have 13 trades left this time of year.
Has Not having Grundy and Gawn, Cripps, hurt your overall rank much?
You're in a great position to finish the year off strongly…Nic Nat will be on maybe 50-60% minutes for quite a few weeks I think, have you thought about bringing Grundy or Gawn in soon?

      One Touch Wonder · 03/07/2019 at 22:38

Rank is not good. 29k. Not having Grundy, Gawn, Lloyd, Boak, macrae, cripps have hurt. Lol. Will give all my leagues a big shake this year.

    Derek · 04/07/2019 at 08:16

Whitfield will drop a reasonable amount next week, hold off a week and see how he goes.

NicNat has had one game back, he will need to get to full fitness and he has some very tough match ups in the next month.

Mumford is your weak player, swing Lycett to R2 and trade Mummy to Dunkley, Boak or Walters.

Goldy to Gawn in a few weeks after his price drop

TheLostBoys · 03/07/2019 at 18:57

Looking for some advice community! By some fluke I'm ranked 244, but only have 5 trades left with 301k in the bank. My team is:
Lloyd, Hurn, Williams, Laird, Sicily, Hore (Logue, Gardner)
Macrae, Kelly, Fyfe, Cripps, Neale, Sloane, B.Crouch, D.Clarke (Setterfield, Baker, Bewley)
Gawn, Grundy (ROB)
Dangerfield, Marshall, Boak, Kelly, Daniel, Gray (Parker, Young)

Looking to trade out Daniel, and thinking of either playing it safe with Ziebel, or taking a risk and saving cash with Petrevski-Seton (105 3 round average), or Tom Lynch (Adelaide, 106 3 round average).

Also need to look at final midfield upgrade, while saving some cash to get Whitfield either next week or the week after.Trelore looks the goods, and while cheap for a prem mid, would March Murphy be an interesting and significantly cheaper option? Looks like he's back in the midfield proper now, and think he'll probably to 90 to 100 average. Would use as m8 until the finals, and with any luck (and no injuries), then replace or upgrade another rookie to a real premium. Crazy move, or a reasonable cash saver?

    Russty_ · 03/07/2019 at 19:44

Hey Lost Boys, it's no fluke you're doing well, cause you have a really good side.
Ziebell would be my choice out of those 3 and Treloar over Murphy, good luck for the run home, be careful with your trades though, easy to run out from here.

    Moustachio · 04/07/2019 at 08:15

It's gotta be Heeney up fwd.
    Wait for Whitfield.
Mid I would consider the Olipig.

Might be a nice rank play if you can hold ROB for future ruck donuts.

TommyC99 · 03/07/2019 at 19:42

Whats more of a priority this week, got 7 trades left with 2 upgrades left (already locked in ROB – Lloyd in a week or 2)

Young – Hawkins which drops Cameron to F7

O baker – Uber premo mid to complete my midfield with D Clarke at M9

    TheLostBoys · 03/07/2019 at 20:18

I like option 1 – Cameron is not likely to score much at all, while Clarke will still probably make you 50 to 70 so can wait another week.

      Russty_ · 03/07/2019 at 20:24

I think he might be referring to Jeremy Cameron Lost Boys.

        TommyC99 · 03/07/2019 at 20:36

        Correct Russty

          Russty_ · 03/07/2019 at 20:56

Young to Hawkins is a win Tommy.

            TheLostBoys · 03/07/2019 at 21:36

            Opps! Still like hawkins 🙂

ROB14 · 04/07/2019 at 05:42

Anyone scared for whitfields collarbone? One big bump and is it all over red rover?? Surely Brisbane rough him up a bit!?

    Moustachio · 04/07/2019 at 08:10

Will be waiting a round for that myself… Need ROB downgrade to make the upgrade anyway, and likely have to hold him if Gawn misses.

TelescopicCox · 04/07/2019 at 10:21

Current team with 7 trades and $380k bank:

D – Lloyd Williams Crisp Andrews Hore Logue (Naish Gardner)
M – Kelly Macrae Cripps Fyfe Neale Treloar M.Crouch Hately (Clarke Bewley Baker)
R – Gawn Grundy (Bines)
F – Dunkley Danger Boak Kelly Heeney Cameron (Begley Young)

Ranked 12K and in no serious leagues this season so just gunning for a decent finish:

Opt 1 – Gawn out
Begley > Lycett
Hore > Sicily

Opt 2 – Gawn named
Baker > Sloane
Hore > Stewart

Opt 3
Begley > Chol
Baker > Sloane
Load up to get Whitfield in the next few weeks

    DavidC · 04/07/2019 at 10:41

Gawn plays on Sunday. I am expecting him to be named maybe with Preuss as well, then the chance of a late out and donuts everywhere.

    Swans2012 · 04/07/2019 at 11:07

    Option 4
Gawn named then a late out and we are all rooted

This is what I am expecting 😬

      Swans2012 · 04/07/2019 at 11:08

Fwiw I like the lycett option but feels risky as despite most saying he won’t, I think Ryder comes back in the next week or two.

    neil demons delight · 04/07/2019 at 12:26

I think Pruess and Gawn will be named. Pruess had a monster game and fed Kennedy-Harris all day. They will play him shortly if not this week I am going Lycett for Daniel – Baker to Sloan looks good but Hore worthy of another chance NDD

cash_cows · 04/07/2019 at 10:47

9 trades left and 85k in the bank.
Normally play for rank but in a tight cash league and sitting outside the 8.

Lloyd, hurn, Williams, Laird, hore, logue – naish, Gardner
Macrae, fyfe, Neale, Oliver, bont, Sloane, crouch, setter – CRIPPS, bewley, stocker
Gawn, Grundy – fort
Danger, Boak, Kelly, DANIEL, heeney, Dahl – Burgess, young

Looking at Daniel to Marshall but it's a lot to pay and I still need to do an upgrade down back. Any other options people can see?
I'm keeping hore for now as a d6 but might change. Heeney and Dahl causing headaches too but that'll be future luxury trades if possible.

    Russty_ · 05/07/2019 at 00:19

Because you don't have Bines, I'd go Fort to Clarke and Burgess to Chol..might help you get into the top 8 this week…and deal with Daniel next week.
Either that or trade Fort to Bines and Daniel to Lycett/ Westhoff…because Gawn probably wont play this week.

Russty_ · 04/07/2019 at 20:32

Wow the Podcast thread used to get around 500 posts per week before the Panic Room came up on friday…wonder if it's the new format turning people off?
Must admit, I much preferred it the way it was before the re-formatting.
Maybe it's just this time of year?…not sure

    TommyC99 · 04/07/2019 at 21:05

Could be with less trades to use less reason for people to comment?

      Russty_ · 04/07/2019 at 22:08

Yeah could be TommyC…feels like everyone's gonna get shafted this week.

    Tommy · 04/07/2019 at 21:56

Numbers were getting worse well before the changes to the website. The content just isn’t what it used to be. No disrespect to the boys running it they are doing their best but i don’t find much info they give to be very useful.

      Russty_ · 04/07/2019 at 22:14

I wouldn't say that Tommy, I find the content very useful…It's not easy writing for public consumption when it's your second job.
I've tried it before and it's hard, but I find the new format a bit disconnected from how it was, things still seem to be out of whack proportion-wise, and the leading subjects of the week were more user friendly I feel when they weren't in a linear list form, and it was also good to be able to see the amount of posts posted before entering the thread.
I guess I just miss the old way cause I've been hanging around here for 5 years or so.
It's also probably got a bit to do with some Coaches teams are imploding at the moment and that can be a bit depressing, especially realising we might not do as well as we thought we would this year.

        Maverick_ · 05/07/2019 at 00:55

I tend to agree with tommy here numbers were down before the changes russty I don’t find them too bad.. these days I may pop in once or twice a week and barely comment where as a month ago I was on all day every day contributing and reading everyone’s posts.. I’m just finding the articles/threads the exact same week in week out no fresh content or in depth player threads etc and basically not a lot changes in the comments either. I think the fellas do a great job running the page in there spare time I know I sure as hell couldn’t juggle work, family & SC so I take my hat off to you gentlemen. That’s just my two cents as to why I’ve taken s step back in the last 4-5 weeks

          Lekdog · 05/07/2019 at 17:02

Numbers are oretty consistent with the last few years in terms of site visits etc. Comments are down for sure. Always open to suggestions for content…the biggest issue is time for all of the lads. Just don't have the time to do super in-depth pieces throughout the year (as much as we'd like to). Was way easier when we were younger and jobless haha

gen · 04/07/2019 at 23:57

Daniel to Dunkley or Marshall. Who will be better for me. Leaning to Dunkley
