We’re almost through them. The bye rounds are almost over. I won’t go on about it, let’s just jump straight into the Captains options for this week!
Top VICE-CAPTAINS Options
Thursday Night vs West Coast – AVG vs Team: 104.6
Averages 113 over his past three matches against the Eagles, and is a good option this week. Cruised to a 138 last week against the Hawks, but he’ll have a harder job this week and who knows who Hutchings will choose sit on if he sits on anyone.
Thursday Night vs Essendon – AVG vs Team: 89.6
Just been a consistent scorer all year. Has a nice ceiling, but more or less just a good option if you want a fail safe to fall back on. Has averaged 112 over his last three games against the Bombers.
Thursday Night vs Essendon – AVG vs Team: 78.0
Assuming he returns this week, another good option to put the VC on. Seven of his 11 games this year, he has scored 108 or better and has a great ceiling to lock in if he pays off. Another fairly safe option you can rely on if you want to go a little crazy with your captaincy choice.
Friday Night vs Hawthorn – AVG vs Team: 89.6
Parker has a five round average of 129.8 and scored 124 the last time he came up against the Hawks. If you have him, he’s a very, very good option. Appears to have hit his straps for the season.
Friday Night vs Hawthorn – AVG vs Team: 71.0
Don’t pay attention to the thumbs down, or the “Does not historically score well against his next opponent” Bull—t the SuperCoach website is telling you. The concussion affected 4 he scored in 2017 is bringing those stats down. A 149 and a 130 the last two times Lloyd played the Hawks is enough to warrant suggesting he could be THE best VC option this week.
Early Saturday vs Fremantle – AVG vs Team: 93.7
Big Maxxy comes up against the Dockers. Max Gawn is going to absolutely take Sean Darcy to the cleaners this week, not because Sean Darcy isn’t a good ruckmen, far from that, Max Gawn is just the better ruckmen. 151 and 141 the last two times Gawn has played Freo. I like him as a Captaincy option as well as a Vice-Captaincy option. Jump on.
Friday Night vs Sydney – AVG vs Team: 75.9
Where has this bloke been? Absolutely killing it this year! Probably been the Hawks best midfielder this season and hasn’t been shy to produce 120s and 130s at random.
Top CAPTAIN Options
Saturday vs St Kilda – AVG vs Team: 88.6
Looking over his last three matches against the Saints, and you want consistency look no further! 118, 117 and 118 in his last three outings against the boys from Moorabbin. Hasn’t been able to break a tag recently, but with Jack Steele out he may be due for a big score.
Saturday Night vs Geelong – AVG vs Team: 85.5
Probably one of the more speculative picks outside of my smokeys this week, but has absolutely killed it so far this year. Has more often than not scored 119 or better this year, but who knows how how travels with Wines and Ebert potentially back in the side.
Saturday Night vs Port Adelaide – AVG vs Team: 103.7
The Danger Man is back. He’s had a week off, should be nice and refreshed. Averages 145 over his last three games against the Power, Hinkley has not found a way to stop this man yet. Another big score on the way.
Sunday vs Western Bulldogs – AVG vs Team: 89.8
Scored a 160 when these two teams came up against each other earlier in the season, and a 152 the time before that. Seems to love taking Tim English to school and this week will be no different. A fairly safe captaincy option.
Saturday Night vs Port Adelaide – AVG vs Team: 79.2
Has just been quietly going about his business this year, sliding under everyone’s radar. Probably would be talked about more if not for the star studded team he plays for. Averaging 109.8 for the year, and was having a nice purple patch before the bye came around, hopefully the bye hasn’t stifled him.
