The bye rounds are now upon us, which means we’ve got potential havoc running wild on our Supercoach teams. It’s the best of 18 over the next 3 weeks, which can make our rookie picks all the more important. Essendon, Fremantle Hawthorn, Port Adelaide, St Kilda and Western Bulldogs have Round 12 off, which puts them in prime upgrade/downgrade territory this week. So lets go see who is performing and who we might look to trade out.

Victoria

Collingwood

A game not without its controversies, Collingwood lost in the last seconds to Fremantle, going down 79-75. Darcy Moore returned and had 9 disposals, 5 marks and 4 tackles for 68 SCPoints. His BE is 94 this week, a score he has beaten just once this year, but with Collingwood having a bye in Round 13 it’s probably worth keeping him for another week and eat the small loss he’ll be hit with before upgrading him.

Collingwood suffered a 106-64 loss to Port Melbourne in Round 9 of the VFL season. Ben Crocker (FWD, $248,600) had 19 disposals, 4 marks, 3 tackles and a goal, Tyler Brown (DEF, $123,900) had 18 disposals, 2 marks and 4 tackles and Isaac Quaynor (DEF, $153,300) had 17 disposals, 1 mark and 9 rebound 50’s.

Carlton

Another loss for the Blues which cost Brendon Bolton his job, losing 74-33 to Essendon. Sam Walsh had 21 disposals, 5 marks and 2 tackles for 67 SCPoints. He has a BE of 89 and with a Round 14 bye he should hopefully stay above $400K until then. Michael Gibbons had 15 disposals, 3 marks, 3 tackles and 9 inside 50’s for 60 SCPoints with a BE of 33. Liam Stocker had 12 disposals, 1 mark and 4 rebound 50’s with 4 clangers for 61 SCPoints. His BE is an even 0 this week.

The Northern Blues copped the Blues second loss to Essendon, going down 84-43 in their VFL matchup. Angus Schumacher (DEF, $123,900) had 19 disposals, 7 marks and 7 rebound 50’s and Hugh Goddard (DEF, $159,600) finished with 13 disposals, 7 marks and 4 rebound 50’s.

Essendon

The Bombers notched their 5th win of the year, defeating Carlton 74-33 at te MCG on Sunday. Dylan Clarke did a great job tagging Cripps while also hurting the Blues the other way, racking up 23 disposals, 4 marks, 6 clearances and 10 tackles for 99 SCPoints. A very tempting price @ $147,700, but with the Bombers having the bye this week he could make a very nice downgrade option next week to carry through the other two bye rounds. Josh Begley had 15 disposals, 4 marks and 3 tackles with 4 clangesr for 44 SCPoints.

Essendon defeated the Northern Blues 84-43 in their VFL match. New recruit Will Snelling (MID, $117,300) had 23 disposals, 7 marks and 5 tackles, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher (DEF, $123,900) had 21 disposals, 10 marks and 4 rebound 50’s and Brayden Ham (FWD, $117,300) kicked 3 goals with 13 disposals, 4 marks and 4 tackles.

Geelong

The Cats moved two games clear on top of the ladder after a 85-63 win over Sydney. Jordan Clark had 20 disposals, 4 marks, 6 inside 50’s and a goal for 73 SCPoints. His Be is 13 this week, but with Geelong having a Round 13 bye we might be selling him with him still having a tiny bit of earning potential left in him. Tom Atkins had 14 disposals, 5 marks and 4 clearances for 67 SCPoints. His BE is -6 this week, but with this being the last week his score of 115 SCPoints will sit in his rolling average his BE will be jumping back up to the 60 range in time to trade him out for Cats bye. Finally Gryan Miers had 11 disposals, 1 mark, 3 tackles and a goal for 50 SCPoints. He lost $30K this week and with a BE of 108 he might be a good option to upgrade, though if you do keep him this week a score in the 60 range likely sees him drop another $20K and he will sit around the low $300K range for the Round 13 bye.

A very low scoring affair, with Geelong defeating Footscray 35-34. Charlie Constable had 19 disposals, 4 marks and 5 tackles, Darcy Fort (RUC, $117,300) had 7 disposals, 2 tackles and 12 hitouts and Zach Guthrie (DEF, $203,800) had 21 disposals, 9 marks and 7 rebound 50’s.

Hawthorn

The Hawks had a 85-66 loss to Brisbane up at the Gabba on Saturday night. James Cousins had 15 disposals, 1 mark and a goal for 54 SCPoints. He earned a workmans $300 for that effort and has an upcoming BE of 79. Marc Pittonet had 11 disposals, 1 mark and 19 hitouts for 70 SCPoints. He’ll be on the BYE this week, so might not be safe as an option to downgrade to from ROB. Conor Glass had 11 disposals, 4 marks and 2 tackles for 43 SCPoints.

The Box Hill Hawks had a 20 point win over Williamstown, winning 74-54. Dylan Moore (FWD, $195,400) had 16 disposals, 4 marks and kicked 1.2 and Ned Reeves (RUC, $102,400) finished with 6 disposals, 4 marks, 4 tackles and 37 hitouts.

Melbourne

1.8 in the final quarter cost the Dees the game, losing 90-88 against Adelaide in Darwin. Oskar Bakerhad 21 disposals, 7 marks and 3 tackles for 69 SCPoints. Sam Weideman had 12 disposals, 6 marks and kicked 1.2 for 61 SCPoints and Charlie Spargo had 10 disposals, 4 marks and 2 tackles for 38 SCPoints.

The Casey Demons suffered a 88-53 loss to Werribee in their VFL match. Corey Wagner (MID, $202,100) had 25 disposals, 8 marks and 10 tackles and mid year draftee Kyle Dunkley (MID, $102,400) had 11 disposals, 3 marks, 3 tackles and 2 behinds.

North Melbourne

North Melbourne started the Rhys Shaw era in quality fashion, defeating Richmond 99-62 on Friday night. Luke Davis-Uniacke had 21 disposals, 2 marks and tackles for 86 SCPoints, Tarryn Thomas had 8 disposals, 4 marks and a goal for 52 SCPoints and Nick Larkey had 6 disposals, 3 marks, 3 tackles and a goal for 58 SCPoints.

North Melbourne completed the double against Richmond, winning their VFL match 109-80. New recruit Lachlan Hosie (FWD, $102,400) kept up his goal kicking ways from Glenelg, booting 3.2 with 10 disposals and 8 marks, Kyron Hayden (MID/FWD, $102,400) had 21 disposals, 3 marks, 2 tackles and a goal and Sam Durdin (DEF, $202,300) had 19 disposals, 6 marks and 8 rebound 50’s.

Richmond

Richmond fell to North Melbourne on Friday night footy, losing 99-62. Sydney Stack had a big game with 24 disposals, 5 marks, 4 tackles and 107 SCPoints. That has pushed his BE down to 36 this week and with that triple digit score in his rolling average for the next fortnight he should make a bit more cash in his next two games against Geelong and Adelaide, before his bye in Round 14. Liam Baker had 17 disposals, 6 marks, 5 tackles and 2 behinds for 85 SCPoints. He is has a BE of 26 this week, but that will jump up to the 60-70 range after, unless he pulls out a big score against Geelong. Should still go OK until his bye, pending selection of course. Noah Balta had 11 disposals, 2 marks, 2 tackles and 7 hitouts, but with 7 clangers it dropped his score to 47 SCPoints. His BE is 65 this week, but might lose a bit of cash prior to Richmond’s bye, but that will be minimal and he’s still turned out to be a decent selection, though he took awhiles to get there.

Richmonds VFL side suffered their first loss of the season, going down 109-80 against North Melbourne. Patrick Naish (DEF, $123,900) had a big game with 25 disposals, 6 marks, 2 tackles and kicked 3.1 while Derek Eggmolesse-Smith (DEF, $102,400) had 22 disposals, 6 marks and 3 tackles.

St Kilda

Not a good week for St Kilda in China, among other things they lost to Port Adelaide 139-69. Josh Battle had 17 disposals, 4 marks and 4 rebound 50’s for 59 SCPoints, while Darragh Joyce had 15 disposals, 2 marks, 2 tackles, 5 rebound 50’s, but 4 clangers put his score down to 38 SCPoints. Matthew Parker had 14 disposals, 2 marks, 3 tackles and kicked 1.2 with 6 clangers for 45 SCPoints. His BE is down to 23 this week, but the Saints also have the bye this week. Callum Wilkie had 13 disposals, 5 marks and 2 tackles for 60 SCPoints and Robert Young had 7 disposals, 1 mark and 3 tackles for 33 SCPoints.

The Sandringham Zebras defeated Coburg 68-58 in the VFL. Max King (FWD, $193,800)kicked 3.3 with 9 disposals and 5 marks and mid-year draftee Jack Mayo (FWD, $102,400) had 11 disposals, 7 marks and kicked 1.2.

Western Bulldogs

A 9 goal to 3 3rd quarter to the Eagles cost the Bulldogs, who lost 133-72 to the West Coast Eagles. Bailey Smith had 16 disposals, 2 marks and 3 inside 50’s for 56 SCPoints. Lachie Young had 10 disposals and 5 marks for 53 SCPoints and new Bulldog Ryan Gardner had 9 disposals and 2 marks for 41 SCPoints.

The Western Bulldogs suffered a 35-34 loss to Geelong after booting 4.10 to 5.5. Rhylee West (MID, $117,300) had 22 disposals, 4 marks and 4 tackles and Callum Porter (MID, $123,900) had 20 disposals, 2 marks, 5 tackles and a goal.

South Australia

Adelaide

A bit of luck and kicked 5.2 to 1.8 in the final quarter got Adelaide a 90-88 win over Melbourne on Saturday night. Reilly O’Brien had 7 disposals, 3 tackles and 34 hitouts for 52 SCPoints. He lost a bit of cash on this game and has a BE of 95 coming up and with Sam Jacobs returning via the SANFL last Saturday there is a good chance you could be selling him this week.

Adelaide’s reserves side had a 96-65 against North Adelaide in Round 8 of the SANFL season. Patrick Wilson (MID, $147,700) had 25 disposals, 4 tackles and 4 clearances, Lachlan Sholl (DEF, $117,300) had 22 disposals, 10 marks and 2 tackles, Chayce Jones (MID, $193,900) had 20 disposals, 3 tackles and 10 clearances and Myles Poholke (FWD, $234,600) kicked 4.1 with 20 disposals, 4 marks, 3 tackles and 4 clearances.

Port Adelaide

A good result for Port Adelaide at Adelaide Arena, booting 22 goals to take a 139-69 win over St Kilda. Xavier Duursma had 23 disposals, 10 marks and a goal for 92 SCPoints, with a BE of 16 and a bye round now coming up. Zak Butters had 19 disposals, 2 marks, 3 tackles and 2 goals for 112 SCPoints. That has pushed his price up to almost $300K and he has a BE of 11. Conor Rozee had 11 disposals, 3 marks, 6 tackles and a goal for 81 SCPoints. With a price tag of $412K and a BE of 99, he’s one you could feel pretty safe about trading out this week. Finally Kane Farrell had 7 disposals, 2 marks and 2 goals for 59 SCPoints.

No SANFL action this week for the Magpies, who played last week over the split round.

Western Australia

Fremantle

Michael Walters was the hero again for the Dockers, a goal in the final minutes gave Fremantle a 79-75 win over Collingwood. Brett Bewley had 13 disposals, 2 marks, 6 tackles and 2 behinds for 47 SCPoints.

The Peel Thunder lost to Subiaco 99-58 in their WAFL match. Jason Carter (DEF/MID, $102,400) had 20 disposals and 3 rebound 50’s and Harley Bennell (MID, $167,700) had 25 disposals, 5 marks and 3 tackles.

West Coast

The Eagles continued their strong form with a 133-72 win over the Western Bulldogs. Oscar Allen had 13 disposals, 5 marks, 2 tackles, 7 hitouts and a goal for 56 SCPoints and Jack Petruccelle had 10 disposals, 4 marks and 2 goal assists for 48 SCPoints. He has a BE of 70 this week and with a Round 13 bye will likely lose a bit more cash if you keep him for one more week.

West Coast suffered a 79-48 loss to Claremont to move to 2-6 for the year. Jarrod Cameron kicked 2 behinds with 12 disposals and 4 tackles while Keegan Brooksby (RUC, $202,700) had 7 disposals, 2 marks, 7 tackles and 23 hitouts.

New South Wales

GWS

Sydney

Sydney suffered a big loss in the NEAFL, going down to Brisbane 121-50. James Rose (FWD, $165,000) had 33 disposals, 11 marks and 5 tackles, James Rowbottom (MID, $131,600) had 24 disposals and 7 marks, Darcy Cameron (RUC, $135,700) had 20 disposals, 7 marks, 20 hitouts and 2 goals and mid-year draftee Michael Knoll (RUC, $102,400) had 9 disposals, 4 tackles, 23 hitouts and a goal.

Queensland

Brisbane

Brisbane got their 7th win of the year after a 85-66 win over Hawthorn. Noah Answerth had 14 disposals, 3 marks and 71 SCPoints while Lincoln McCarthy had 9 disposals and 6 tackles for 64 SCPoints. Archie Smith played his first AFL game since 2017 and had 9 diosposals, 2 marks and 23 hitouts for 66 SCPoints. At $172K so he might make a good downgrade option from ROB, but the Lions have the Round 13 bye, which lines up with popular rucks in Brody Grundy and Max Gawn.

The Lions had a big 121-50 win over Sydney in their NEAFL match for Round 9. Toby Wooler (FWD, $123,900) had 23 disposals, 9 marks, 2 tackles and kicked 2.1 and Mitchell Hinge (DEF, $123,900) had 17 disposals and 3 marks while Jacob Allison (DEF, $198,300) finished with 26 disposals, 11 marks and had 3.1 in front of goals.

Gold Coast

Another disappointing loss for the Suns, going down to GWS 126-43. Wil Powell had 11 disposals and 3 marks for 52 SCPoints and Josh Corbett had 8 disposals and 5 marks for 38 SCPoints. He made a bit of cash this week, but his BE is 52, which he has not beat in the last fortnight. Ben King booted his first career goal and had 8 disposals and 7 marks for 40 SCPoints while Jack Lukosius had 6 disposals and 4 tackles for 32 SCPoints wile Chris Burgess had 4 disposals and 2 marks for 33 SCPoints.

Nice one mate, always very informative

KeenButClueless · 04/06/2019 at 21:00

Thanks BarronVonCrow. Enjoy this read. Is the best source on rookies.

Steeeve · 04/06/2019 at 22:55

I have just worked out my next 12 trades, (11 if I have luck with rookies making extra cash). Holding whitfield. This will get me the absolute best side I want. But it will mean I am not full premo until round 17… currently have 16 premos. What do you think, am I waiting too long to go full premo? And for those who have also mapped out their next moves when do you expect to get there?

    Steeeve · 04/06/2019 at 23:41

    PS I'll be down to 6 or 7 trades…

    Russty_ · 05/06/2019 at 01:51

I don't think you can plan that far ahead Steeeve, too many curveballs in between with injuries etc that are starting to mount up and affect our plans already, reckon we need to play it by ear, on current form, injuries and possibly any good new rookies coming through.
There are also the unexpected trades you'll have to make when disaster strikes in a certain week and it will.
The money to do what you want, runs out without some kind of new cash injection.

    Rick Grimes · 05/06/2019 at 07:23

Holding Whitfield for 6 weeks, or more. Madness.

      Steeeve · 05/06/2019 at 08:32

I can trade him and hold hore. But if he's only out for 4 that's a waste since one of those is his bye. Several players have come back from collarbones in 4. The great unknown. (When I had surgery on mine it was still super tender for 6 to 8 weeks at least but that was a bad break).

Rocksta_ · 05/06/2019 at 04:46

What’s Bewley’s JS like?
I want to bring him in for Will Hayes this week to generate some cash for trades over the next two weeks, but don’t want to get rid of one problem for another!

    Steeeve · 05/06/2019 at 08:33

Same here. Think I'll bring in him and the dogs rookie just so I can afford my next trades without missing out on any of these rookies available.

WTFoxtrot_58 · 05/06/2019 at 10:33

Does anyone have any intel on J Carter from Freo.

MAD MIKE · 05/06/2019 at 11:22

Big Move in the making.

This week trade out Balta and Setterfiled and bring in Gardener and Ham.

Next week trade out Rozee, Hore, Clark and bring in Boak, Sicily and Ryan (all who have had there byes).

Left with 12 trades in the bank and only needing to upgrade Baker to reach full premium.

Thoughts Community? Feedback strongly encouraged here please 🙂

    Doc_1 · 05/06/2019 at 15:39

I can’t see Ham playing again this year (but I could be wrong). Unless you expect him to play and be a regular bench option why not pick a 102K option instead.

    Like the moves though.

Lekdog · 06/06/2019 at 16:37

Matt Owies set to play for the Blues this week $102K fwd/mid rookie. Ex-basketballer.
