PODCAST | It’s Time For Culling
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
Some of us have been doing it for a few weeks, but Patch has declared it: it’s Open Season on rookies, and time to begin culling like mad and upgrading like CRAZY. So, Lek and Patch look at which ones to cull and which ones we can leave to fatten and who you should be targeting with said cashola.
We also answer a few community questions and ask the terrifying question… should you trade out Dangerfield? (The answer is absolutely not you mad lads but at least listen to our logic behind it).
What are your trades this week?
We're definitely not late due to the two of us watching any worldwide phenomenon television show involving dragons and kings and queens and stuff. I don't know why you'd even suggest such a thing.
You know it's on at 11 am your time right?..I guess I'm just lucky being able to watch it then if I want lol
I'm either doing 2 trades, or no trades this week..hard to bloody say yet.
Trade out Dangerfield?…umm nah don't reckon I will…that's just rampant silly-ness.
Gonna cull 2 rookies this week and bring in 2 more cash cows so I can build my cash up for a raid of premo's. Thoughts please.
Answerth
Hately
Corbett ( someone nobody is talking about)
All good options. I guess we just have to wait for team selections and hopefully that will make the decision for us
exactly right mate, I'll be looking at Butters to Hatley if Hatley doesn't play Butters to Fyfe my other trade will be Petruccelle to Corbett
Not sure about the the double downgrade, do any of these rookies have good JS? I would look at Hately because his B/E is so negative that he will make enough money in few games to justify but there is nothing I hate more than a 175k rookie languishing on the bench.
Haven't got enough cash to geab Fyfe this week but with a double down grade can get him next neek or Whitfield. I won't upgrade for the sake of upgrading to a player who wo
Won't be top 6 or 8 in their position.
Wanting to cash out on Petrucelle or Parker, but what not really any worthwhile fwd/mid newbies to bring in (Setterfield on mid bench DPP)??
Will D Moore (Hawks) get ongoing games?
I’d be holding Parker for a bit longer mate, his BE is only 12
Corbett will have good job security I reckon
Sitting about 2000, need a mid for $563,000 or less to plug a hole in mids, thinking Mundy, 1 percent owned, Fred going ok, low break even, as not convinced other mids in this price range that I haven’t got will be certain top 10 mids, got Fyfe Neale macrea Cripps Walsh Oliver m crouch. Can move forward when time suits as good chance to be top 8 forward. Good move or stupid
Few names to consider, Mick. Cunnington, Pendles, Gaff
I like gaff
Pendles
I like Cunnington, avg of 113 and less than 2% owned plus he's North so he still makes points when his team stinks it up
Blakely will be back this week for Freo. Will effect Mundy
Good morning community, could someone please tell me Ziebell’s BE…. Thank you.
34 :O)
Cheers
Is it safe to say that O’brien Can hold R2 and we can trade Goldstein to a premo on another line?
I’m thinking of getting Neale (using a second rookie downgrade trade)
What will you do when Jacobs comes back? You're better to wait until Jacobs returns, cash out RO'B then, and use the cash to upgrade to Gawn or Grundy, depending on who you don't have.
I would downgrade a rookie then upgrade o'brien to Grundy… got Gawn.
I think you’re plan is ok. It seems a waste having such scoring sitting on your bench. When is Jacobs due back?
How much will Neale outscore the rookie you upgrade by? this should be a good chunk more than the difference between Goldy and ROB. Plucking numbers out of thin air, you’ll probably be 30 points a week better off. And it really only costs you the trade that you would use to upgrade Goldy to Grundy later anyway.
Blakely will be back this week. Will effect Mundy and Walters in the midfield
does libba have to go? or do we hold?
I'm very tempted to trade but not 100% sure
Same here Sinny, if he moves back to the mids and Dunkley goes back forward then he's worth holding.
Hard to know what the Dogs midfield make up is from week to week at the moment.
Consider what rookies you have that need to be culled and do that first. Libba on field over a rook is a better option.
True. But we have come to a defining point where libba is going to drop lots of cash. Cant afford to risk seeing more low scores from him imo. Upgrade to fyfe for me.
Its either keep libba for a long time or lose him now
Yeah I'm gonna move Butters and Libba out for Answerth and Bont. there's other options I could lose like Petrucceli or Clark but Libba will lose the most coin
Butters to Hatley (if Hately isn't named Butters to Fyfe)
Petrucelle to Corbett
Leaves me with 667K in the bank to begin upgrade season
out of dunkley, daniel, cameron or walters who should i grab
refuse to touch mundy after trading him out rd 3 🙁
Daniel
Any of them except Walters.
Walters will be pushed forward when Blakely is back
Collins and Butters most likely to get the chop this week for me.
Gibbons and Drew for me – if rookies permit will do double downgrade this week… Probably need one rookie with a bit more cash behind them (Drew) to free up options for next week… one premium defender and one premium midfielder in… should have the cash for Ryan and Macrae
Wines out for a month, should mean Drew goes back into the middle for large minutes again.
2126 for me this round moving me up 440 spots to rank 1114 overall
Will be looking at libba and Petrucelle out then Boak and Answerth in, allows me to have stack on field instead of Parker/Petrucelle. 125k in the bank, hopefully looking at a walsh to josh kelly direct swap the week after
Hey man,
Boak has the first bye and is around his peak price so I would consider trading him in R13,
Not sure what other FWD's you have but IMO both Jezza Cameron & C Daniels are both excellent value, should be top 6 and low ownership so will get you up the ranks.
Good luck for the rest of the season
Hey mate I did consider this but I reckon Boak will have a blinder in the show down and back it up with another solid showing against GC the week after I’ll be looking at grabbing Daniels as my last fwd after his bye leaving me with
Boak, danger, kelly, heeney, Dunkley, Daniels
Who is best premo mid of the 4 below to get in this week and why, taking into account:
current price,
ave,
BE,
price ceiling and
scoring potential for the rest of the season ?
Pendlebury, bontempelli, gaff or McRae?
Gaff
any reason for Gaff Haze
Super consistent…. But I'm playing both DT and SC this year for cash, so maybe he's more DT relevant looking at it
if his bye wasn't shit would be on gaff like a rash, going along ok, good price, if the eagles get there mojo back gaff will avg 110 easy.
Pendles? Surrounded by too many other premo mids, good lately though… ultra low BE
Bont? Good BE, but can dip below at times
Gaff? Great price and BE, crap Bye
Macrae? Highest Ceiling, Good price for what he's capable of, crap BE
Bont might tick all the boxes, but feel not having Macrae could hurt at some point. One of those two. Gaff after his Bye and Pendles not for mine.
Thanks sana
Tanking Rd13 is coming in to consideration here!
Any suggestions for a clear newbie?
24 trades – 713k in the bank
DEF: Lloyd, Williams, Smith, Hanley, Duursma, Scrimshaw (Ridley, Rotham)
MIDS: Cripps, Macrae, Fyfe, Coniglio, B Crouch, Walsh, Constable, Ross (Gibbons, Atkins, Hayes)
RUCK: Gawn, ROB (Lycett)
FWDS: Dangerfield, Kelly, Rozee, Drew, Petrucelle, Parker (Setterfield, Burgess)
I get that I'm holding too much cash and have a lot of mid priced players rather than the GnR strat.
Need to bolster that forward line I reckon. Daniel or Marshall in? and Petrucelle with a BE of 59 is about cooked I reckon.
PS. If you've got considerable testicular fortitude, Josh Dunkley could be a goer if he gets to keep playing midfield… and Westhoff is dirt cheap for decent returns the last two weeks… Round 12 byes handy too (as with Daniel and Marshall)
Ridley to Bines (via Burgess)
This will give you a Def/Fwd swing set – Rozee/Burgess. Burgess hand for rookie loopholes forward and defence.
Also gives you a Fwd/Ruc swing set – Lycett/Bines. Let’s you put Lycett on field in forward line but still gives you tuck cover. Port have a great run of games and Lycett will be more than handy.
Also adds to your war chest
Second trade can by Gibbons to Boak (via Setterfield). Boat is a must have with Ports run of games.
Also gives you a Mid/fed swing set
Thanks Derek
Not dangerous with 4 Port players in forward line?
2 are only rookies. Rozee and Drew will be gone by r12.
Port have the showdown this week and then Suns, Hawks and Saints before the bye. Not bad.
If you look at Ports run after their bye, very good. After Fremantle, they have 5 of the next 6 at Adelaide Oval. They should go ok.
Agree on Boak and Ports run – can’t argue with his form. Not sure on bringing in Bines to go with Rotham and Burgess as non playing rookies. Lots of cash now, what about later? Many swings and loops though!
Hodgey has still got 24 trades, using one to get over $400k off the bench is ok.
Even when he trades in Grundy to replace ROB he would be wise to keep Lycett as ruck cover and eventually end up at F7
Bines offers the best VC option at R3
Yeah the Bines move gets things moving. I’m with ya, sold!
So if I were to bring in Boak now, it'd be wise to trade Rozee/Drew out prior to the bye?
Otherwise, would an option be to bring in Daniel/Cameron now and bring Boak in after his bye?
Thanks for all the help Derek et al
News that Wines will miss a month is great for Rozee and Drew.
Boak is a must have, so the longer we leave it the more we fall behind.
Round 12 bye shouldn’t be a problem, fielding 18 that round looks easy.
Cameron is going well, has a nice draw but I’m worried about his shoulder, clearly carrying it and not sure getting him this far from season end is good. GWS run over the last month of season is insane and he will be a must have then especially if the Colman is close.
Daniel is playing super. I listen to game on radio and all I heard was Daniel Daniel Daniel. The only thing I’m looking at is JJ’s role in team. He hasn’t effected Daniel yet, but that could change now JJ has got a bit more fitness
Giving me a lot to consider mate.
Any thoughts on Marshall over Daniel if that's the case with JJ coming into form?
Mate I started Bsmith, Zwilliams, dmoore, libba, bcrouch, trockliff and sitting 50th overall, nothing wrong with some mid priced madness this year until it all comes falling down like a house of cards haha.
I'd ditch Petrucceli and Gibbons for Daniel and Neale. leaves u with $104k in the bank and ups ur scoring over 100 points.
I agree with everything Derek said except that Lycett is a keeper. Keeping Lycett this week might give you good fwd cover this week particularly if danger is a late out but I would be looking to trade him up to a premium fwd ASAP after this week.
I suspect I'll be moving Lycett on down the track, but happy to keep him in for this week to get the rookies upgraded
What do you do if/when Grundy or Gawn miss a week?
Touche
Hi Hodgey, not sure why you still have Hanley or Ridley, and Rotham at all, backline's a bit of a trainwreck (no offence).
Fwd line's not as bad but not far behind.
Derek's suggestion on getting Bines in is valid to get Lycett fwd, and then I'd address one of your defenders rather than bringing a fwd in, and trade for the next few weeks too, you've got problems to fix.
That would be a first timer error I reckon – too focused on trying to generate cash (by trading in rotham) rather than bringing in premiums.
Upgrading defence is on the radar with Ryan and Laird being my targets. Forward line seems to be the aim this week first though
Long time listener, dont comment all that often, bit stuck..Libba/ gibbons to bont/hately or scrimshaw/drew to bont/answerth? want a pod-ish player and rookie with J/S, looking to the byes so can improve on rank.
…Real question I should ask is Libba actually playing a different role? haven't watch the dogs last two games and looking for some insight from doggies supporters? Is he attending less centre bounces? Because I think if his role is the same you hold him? mayb?
Dunkley has taken his role. He also appeared to be doing some tagging (badly). Who knows what he will be doing next week
And with the high BE he has become too much of a risk for me
I'd love for you guys to do a tiny segment on PODs, since this week probably proved that going with the crowd's premiums means my team stinks when everybody else's does. So is the whole point the fact that a team with enough pods has resilience against the popular mids having rubbish weeks? (Assuming you've still got top 6-10 guys in each part of the field)
Looks like Danger's a chance to miss, he said it's going to be a late call whether he plays or not.
Not good when he plays Sunday. Hard to put a plan in place if he pulls out just b4 the game.
You're not wrong mate, still waiting on his scan results though..I might have to field Balta if he doesn't get up.
Only me but don’t think he gets up.
Tend to agree Shake, no need for them to risk him if he's not 100%
Unbreakable!
Might take a punt on Dunkley. They'd be fools not to continue to run him through the guts. Big ceiling.
Bevo always changes the team…tread with caution.. just look at how he changed libbas role
1 of the 7
They are fools, that's the problem.
He’s a prick who cost me my unbeaten status in a league, going down by 3.
If you want someone who has the potential to do that to opposing supercoach players then I guess he’s not too bad.
I’d love it if Cats rested Gaz this week
85 K – Seeking your best two trades this week. Double down or up and down
Laird, Whitfield, D Moore, Sicily, Duursma, Collins (Clark, Burgess)
Macrae, Cripps, Fyfe, Neale, Libba, Walsh, Butters, Atkins, (Hayes, Scott, Gibbons)
Gawn, Grundy, (Bines)
Danger, Heeney, Boak, Drew, Petrucelle, Parker (Setterfield, Balta)
Offer some suggestions?
Well obviously your fwd line is in trouble. Usually I would say you need to get petrol and parker off the field asap. But at the same time, playing butters and atkins in the midfield is probobly worse. Trade 1 up and 1 down for sure. Butters and petrol out seem the best trades. Would look at trying to get fyfe for butters, and corbett for petrol. The other option is answerth (mid) for butters, and petrol to kelly, daniel, and dunkley respectively. Although I like Dunkley as a pod considering what we know he can do. Good luck
Hi Dash I think you need to start getting rid of some of those rookies but you can't do much with 85k.
Maybe double down and make some cash for upgrades next week.
Butters is done for cash generation, as is Petrucelle and Gibbons probably, Collins is shite, Scott is dead in the water as is Burgess.
Maybe get Answerth and Hately if they're named or Corbett fwd.
It's tough especially if you miss rookies like Ross, Stack, Baker etc who are scoring well.
Yes missed all the Richmond guys. Caught napping. It was the week where it was hard to make the decisions early. Oh well.
Have to start again somewhere. Thanks for the advice.
Know what ya mean..I only got Ross out of those 3, can make a real diff to your season but keep fighting on.
Got the paint brush out this week. The fence looks jaded and needs a coat of paint. Thinking of punting Libba and Clark for Answerth and Macrae. Great swingset opened with Duursma and Macrae nice value at $581K. (BE still high 149) I am not sure what the hell Bevo is doing with Dunkley and Libba, but Macrae will stay in the guts, because he will. Thoughts?
Hi TH, pretty good trades there I think, if I was doing similar I think I'd go for Bont over Jack the way Bont's going, but both are top notch picks.
I'm thinking about sticking with Libba a bit longer to see what happens.
Hi Russsty! I was $2800 bucks short to get the Bont. Had I had the coin I would have taken Bontempelli. Still, Macrae is smart buying at his current price whilst I have the chance. Next week he might be $10K cheaper but who cares. The way Beveridge is buggering Libba around (playing forward) he may well drop $30K next week. Then this opportunity is lost. Unless there are big surprises when teams drop on Thursday, I reckon these are two decent trades.
In that case mate, yes perfect trades..bummer about that shortfall but either are solid as.
Worried Libba will drop cash for me but I'm doing something else this week which takes priority.
Danger is now in the mids with Ross backing him up lol
I'm actually pretty happy with how my side's starting to look and I'm scoring better now after my shite-filled start to the year.
P.S also, Macrae could drop a 170 next week and start going up again so good timing.
👍
Trying to work that out – looked it up on Urban Dictionary – not appropriate to post.
It has a different meaning in regards to Supercoach mate, get your mind out of the gutter, lol
Hey TH,
Like the trades mate, i'm contemplating doing similar except im thinking Boak or Fyfe. Only thing stopping me is Hately. Rookies would usually be a priority but with Libba expected to drop large amounts of Cash this would be the week to do it
Are you talking about the Chad? He could repeat 2018.
I'm not going near him unless he shows some solid consistent numbers, why were his team mates having a go at him?…laziness…lack of defensive pressure?
I heard it was for kicking to the wrong position and not adhering to team rules of giving off to a player with eyes forward.
If he plays as a pure mid like he did for Port towards the end of last year, trade for him in a heartbeat. Just not SC relevant playing deep forward.
Need little help here. Culling and upgrading mid for either Bont or Fyfe (he always frustrates with injury or suspension)?? I already have Macrae for what it's worth
Cheers
Hey Jimmy, I wouldn't worry about the fear of Fyfe getting injured or whatever, he's tough, Bont is also a good choice, both are great for avoiding round 13 bye outs.
Top of the table clash this week so need a league win to stay up there and get a game up….24 trades left – $162k in the bank
Need to field strongest side possible. Gotta cull rookies. Was thinking scrimshaw and butters to go….but trying to work out who I need? Thinking a premium mid and maybe Hately?
DEF: Laird, Williams, Smith, Duursma, Hore, Answerth (Scrimshaw, Clark)
MIDS: Cripps, Fyfe, Oliver, Coniglio, Walsh, Stack, Constable, Drew, (Atkins, Scott, Butters)
RUCK: Gawn, Grundy (Sweet)
FWDS: Boak, Dangerfield, Heeney, Dunkley, Marshall, Rozee (Petruccelli, Setterfield)
Hey Haze, maybe time to stop depending on rookies so much in your def and mid lines, you need some solid premos in your mids for sure.
Yep agreed. Have stuck with them while I've been winning games but feel their lives are coming to an end! Butters and scrimshaw first in firing line. Keen to get Neale but thinking with a BE of 131 might be worth waiting? Like the look of Ryan in defence or do you think Lloyd is a safer bet?
A few for this week.. westhoffffff, bont, pendels, kelly, old man mundy
Neale is averaging 132, so a break even of 131 is par for the course.
Not sold on Corbett. Sick of slow burners. If Hateley and Answerth are picked they're in my team. I'll keep my bad forward rookies if I have to. Eventually I'll just upgrade them by downgrading rookies on other lines.
Trading Walsh out this week for Fyfe downgrading another rookie or Answerth
If Hately is named should he be my priority over getting in Fyfe ?
No mate. Get fyfe while you can. Hately has poor security, might only get one more game for a while.
Hately's 85 & 90 are what you can expect from him though. He was one of my few rookies I was eyeing off for a mid-season debut (including Cavarra & Corbett both due to perceived strong js).
Don't trade in Hately in at your own risk, when he pumps out another 100 this week you'll be questioning why you didn't trade in a rookie who's score 95, 85 and 100 in consecutive weeks.
Collins is out<img src="https://s04.flagcounter.com/mini/rzN/bg_FFFFFF/txt_dddddd/border_ffffff/flags_0/" width="1"/>
Dropping Drew and Collins this week…
Want to bring in a forward and back premo
Which back out of Hurn, Sicily or Ryan?
And forward from Daniel, mundy or Cameron?
Interested in what you guys think?
Wines and Ebert out should be good for drew this week. Hurn will probably be most consistent. GWS have an easy draw so Cameron could be worth a punt. I normally steer clear of exclusive forwards but he is tempting me.
Hurn. Mundy.
Think I will keep Drew with the loss of Wines and Ebert, gonna get rid of Collins and Petruccelle for Sicily and Daniel…
Wow, Liverpool just beat Barcelona 4-0 to reach the Champions League final.
Mental

Check this out. I attended many games at Anfield. The atmosphere is unreal.
no Way
Was in Liverpool when they won it last time in 2005. Will be there again this year maybe a sign. Up the reds <img draggable="false" class="emoji" alt="🔴" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/11.2.0/svg/1f534.svg"><img draggable="false" class="emoji" alt="⚪️" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/11.2.0/svg/26aa.svg">
Fox sports has a link to the team signing "You'll never walk alone" with the crowd after the game. Unreal.
Wines out for a month.
Thoughts on Walsh & Clark out to Fyfe and Answerth?
Wouldn't be culling Walsh till the byes
Walsh has breakeven of 97.
If he hits his projected scores his break even will drop back to the 60’s for a few weeks. He’s a good chance to add another 50k or more and keep getting you 90 to 100 points a week.
Keep Walsh through the byes
Do it. Walsh has done his job.
Instead of Fyfe I could go Caleb Daniel
Week or 2 early for the outs. A week late on fyfe and right time for answerth… mixed bag there.
23 trades & 38k bank:
B – Hurn Whitfield Williams Smith Moore Hore (Duursma Clark)
M – Neale Cripps Oliver Brayshaw Rocky Libba B.Crouch Atkins (Gibbons Scott Hayes)
R – Grundy ROB (Bines)
F – Danger Kelly DeGoey Dunkley Lycett Drew (Schultz Setterfield)
Which move?
A – Clark & Libba > Answerth & Bont
B – Clark & Gibbons > Answerth & Hately
C – Clark & Lycett > Answerth & Cameron
D – other?
Prefer B of the options
Am looking at A so thats some support for that option
Don’t like Hately’s JS.
I’d just go Clark to Answerth.
Hold your trades
Kade Simpson (out for another 2 weeks – hamstring) – keep or trade?
22 trades left. I've earmarked one trade for a FWD upgrade this week –
Petrucelle + cash > Daniel or Kelly, yet to decide.
Shall I use the other trade on a Simpson replacement?
Cheers!
If youve kept him all this time it might be better to just suck it up and trade up rookies to premos in other spots
I'm bringing in Fyfe this week but the only way I can do it is with one of the following trades:
Option 1: Gibbons to Answerth/Hately & Constable
to Fyfe.
Option 2: Petrucelle to Answerth via D Moore
& Gibbons to Fyfe.
Option 3: Gibbons to Answerth def via Duursma to
mids and then trade Duursma for Fyfe.
Cons:
Option 1: Like Constable's output if he's playing
although Fyfe will score better. Have
Walsh, Stack, Ross, Hayes and, if traded,
Hately/Answerth.
Option2: Lose my dpp swing with Moore and
Burgess which has been ultra helpful
(Moore for Whitfield and possibly
Dangerfield this week). Have no fwd/mid
swing.
Option 3: Think Duursma (d5 or 6) provides good
backup atm. Also have Hore, Lockhart
and currently Burgess.
Guess another option would be Petrucelle to Larkey and then Gibbons to Fyfe. This would probably be the most ideal option but Larkey's 40 last week doesn't install me with confidence but then the JS of Answerth and Hately are questionable but with their performances they shouldn't be.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Option 3 above should just be Duursma to Answerth and Gibbons to Fyfe. My bad getting carried away with dpp swings.
Thanks JohnDJ. Constable not playing would make it easier but we could have the doubt over late in/out with Danger. Team selection will be the key.
Corbett or Answerth?
If they are named
Anseworth. Corbett is a forward at gold coast
If it's a straight choice then Answerth but I'm not seeing a lot of fwd rookies coming thru and Corbett would seem to have reasonable JS.
RIP Lou black n white thru & thru. 😞
Thinking of going Clarke and Butters down to Answerth and Hately instead of painting the fence. No decent rookies will be on the bubble next week, and we have been given two rookies who seem to be capable scorers and should make decent coin before the byes, assuming they get named this week and keep their spots. Anyone else thinking the same?
I've got the same idea, except Corbett and Answerth for Scrimshaw and Petrucelle. Looking at the rookies that played their first game last week, the pickings are very slim. Going double downgrade this week allows for double upgrade next week.
Not looking at hately as much as answ but i like the thought
If both named both will be coming into my team.
Bit worried about Hatelys job security, Kelly and Whitfield are still to come back in.
If hately can be named with both whitfield and kelly's return weekend. lock!
I missed stack and baker worrying about there JS not making the same mistake here
Is it worth getting rid of Drew in order to get in Fyfe seeing as Wines is out?
No
Which 2 trades are more important this week?
1. Scrimshaw – answerth
2 gibbons – hately (could do answerth instead)
3. Libba – Fyfe/boak
4. Petrucelle – Corbett
1 2 4 3
if hatelys named
1234
if not
1342
We need 3 trades this week … problem is beyond this week it’s hard to see where the next downgrades are coming from. Do not miss any downgrades .. so any of 1,2 or 4 ahead of 3.
Tossing up my forward Trade in this week, at the moment locked in on Caleb daniel but unsure about Boak. Is he worth the extra 80 k it would cost to get him in? Averaging 118 can he keep it up, or will he likely finish closer to 110?
Boak will average more than 100 from here on. That will put him in top 6 forwards. Only decision is when to get him. He is probably at his max price so you don’t need to get him this week or even before his bye. But after Crows he has Suns, Hawks and Saints. I’ll want those points
Anyone looking at Menegola?
I would be if he didnt have the round 13 bye
D- Lloyd, Shepard, Crisp, Smith, Hore, Duursma (clark,Burgess)
M- Cripps, Neale, Mcrouch, Coniglio, Brayshaw, Walsh, butters, Hayes (Setterfield, Gibbons, Scott)
R- Gawn, Grundy
F- Danger, Heeny, Daniel, Billings, Baker, Paker (pectrulle, Balta)
14.9k left anything i cn do to imprive my team ranked 50k overall
2 or 3 good rookies on the bubble this week. Have you thought about trading out a rookie that has almost peaked in price and bringing 1 or 2 of the bubble rookies?
Clarke and Petruuclle out
Corner and Answorth in.
Build up your war chest
If Whitfield and Josh Kelly come back this week, and Hately is still named, who's job would he be taking to stay in the side long enough to make good money?
It's a good question.
It also makes me wonder if Hately is named and Josh Kelly isn't, should we still trade in Hately? Or will his j/s be too risky?
Cant offord Boak but undesicive on Cameron,C.Daniel or Mundy??
Any thoughts?
Daniel's on a pretty good run, I might wait and see if Boak has a bad game or 2 and drops in price.
Oldman mundy for me.
Blakely will be back this week, will hurt Mundy
Suckling back will hurt Daniel. I like Mundy best
Maybe but not so sure Brn, Daniel and Suckling played together in the 1st 4 rounds and Daniel still averaged 103.
From talking to a few weekend warrior mates one theory is that the 6-6-6 rule favours some older blokes… something about outsmarting and not just having to be gut running all the time… might be the rise of the 30+ year olds
Any keepers under 550k right now?
Which line are you talking about Braz?
Ryan, rich (if you rate him), McLoving mcgovern
CalebD, mundy, kelly, dangerfield, heeney, dunkley
Pendles, s.congoline, oliver, shuey (if), rocky (if)…..
I mean theres a host of others too.
Need a bit of help with my current team
D: Whitfield, Smith, Witherden, Hore, Duursma, Scrimshaw (Clark, Ainsworth)
M: Cripps, Treloar, Fyfe, M Crouch, Parker, Rockliff, Walsh, Drew (Atkins, gibbons, Hayes)
R: Grundy, Goldstein (O’Brien)
F: Danger, Kelly, Billings, Dahlhaus, Moore, Baker (Bolton, Wicks)
Used 1 trade which was trading liberatore to Ainsworth and I’ve now got 350k in the bank to spend $$$
I would trade Clark before Libba
Went clark to Ainsworth then Libba to macrae so I reckon they are good trades
Thinking of off loading Libba but undecided on who to get Neale, Boak or the Bont I can afford them or us there someone else that would be better suited.
Macrae or Oliver maybe?
What are your thoughts on Libba? Upgrade or hold?
If both named I’m looking to double down too answerth/hately from two fat cows. If only one is named though I’ll paint the fence libba to Fyfe/bont. His job role has changed
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Going up to bont
Who do you think is the better upgrade option:
Caleb Daniel or Tommahawk???
Daniel
all things considered (bewly, game time, etc) i'd still punt on mundy
Want to get both Hately and Answerth (if both named), but unsure who to trade out for Hately. Have Clark to trade out for Answerth, but my midfield is:
Cripps, Neale, Macrae, Fyfe, Rockliff, B.Crouch, Liberatore, Walsh – Constable, Stack, Hayes
Thinking Libba to Hately, but not sure. If Constable is left out again would he be a trade out option instead, despite the lowish BE?
I think if Constable isn't named, trade him, if he is…do Libba.
Libba just looked like he was hanging around on the fringe areas last week, and was largely ignored by his team mates as a go to option.
I did notice that too… sometimes he was the better option and he still got ignored
It is ridiculous that constable hasnt made much cash yet. I will continue to loophole him with stack etc until he comes back and makes the money he should.
I noticed this also! i couldn't believe how many times his team mates burnt him when he was is great poitions to receive the ball on the outside of packs.. do we think his team mates are losing faith in libba or what could it have been…
Any saints supporters with an idea of Joyce's JS? Looking to trade him in this weekend
Don't think he will stay in the team for long… Nathan Brown will be back soon
Hey AB, could be ok with Geary out for an extended period, Webster was initially thought to be missing games but could be back this week if he proves his fitness today.
There's an article on afl.com.au saying Hunter Clark is likely to be sent back to the VFL this week so Marsh and or Joyce could keep their jobs until Clark gets back into form I think.
As far as long term js goes, that's anyone's guess, Joyce's average isn't bad though for his 2 games.
Mckenzie could be under the gun too js -wise, hasn't exactly been consistent.
Cheers Russty, will have to wait and see i reckon
I don't think his JS is very good as Rob and Russty have said .. Get Answerth a lot better JS
Yeah already grabbed Answerth for constable Gator, looking at getting rid of Petrucelle for someone, might have to wait if Danger is out, currently only have Balta and Bines on the fwd bench
Not sure about that one Neil, much as we need some decent mids at the Saints, we need a solid ruckman more..I'm hoping Marshall stays for the next 10 years.
We just need to stop doing stupid midfield trades like Hannebery..what a waste of money that was.
We could always trade Mcartin for Petracca and get what we should have had in the first place… But then again both crap.. We'll have Pruess instaed for our capt courageous Geary .. that would be fair
Max King getting a start in the VFL this week Gator, can't wait to see how he goes.
yes it'll be interesting to see how he goes.. When and if he plays in the big time I hope he has no impact on marshall.. we finally get some one half decent in the ruck and the coaches will find a way to f$%k him up
I don't think they'd risk him in the ruck with him coming off a knee and all, Bruce can pinch hit, at least he'd be contributing something then.
True that mate
Daniher might be out. Danger now likely to get up.
You reckon he will have recovered enough to play mostly mid Shake or will he resting forward most of the game?
I would say mainly forward Russty like he did last year when he went gangbusters boom shack alacka.. Who brought Molloy into this
That's good to hear shake.. We need danger on field but then again every man and there dog have him too so no great loss points wise… Only the dickheads that trade him out and then back in that like to burn trades like they're going out of fashion will benefit
I’d nearly prefer him on my bench gator and take rozzees score than cop another turd from danger. If named I expect him to play limited minutes and probably deep fwd. hopefully they rest him v north this weekend they should win comfortably anyway.
Yes true that Mav.. As long as we have bench cover.. It may not be ideal but we'll have to make do
People who trade will be because of the BE at 200 and then hope to get him back at say 40k cheaper. I know it wastes a trade but l can see people doing it.
Yes they'll do it Shake and that's two trades wasted haha
Danger to boak – nice bye
Rob to danger after his bye- almost straight swap
Some key takeaways from Chris Scott’s press conference this morning
Scott (On Constable): He will get his way back into the team at some point. A positive is we have a young guy that we rate really highly but we couldn't fit him in.
Scott: Paddy Dangerfield looks as if he might be okay. He will not train and will be tested later in the week.
He (Dangerfield) will be a last minute proposition

Nice Mav, thanks for the info, makes me feel better about trading him out last week now 🙂
Sounds similar to the Hately situation maybe.
No worries russty!
Yeah not sure what I’ll do about hately. Horrible JS but his high scoring means he doesn’t need a heap of games to make his cash I guess
Expected to rise $80k after his next game whenever that might be. BE -93.
Could Chris Scott be playing mind games with brad? Danger to be named tonight and be a last minute out with constable coming in a real possibility… 😉
Anyone think suckling returning will affect daniels scores?
Would like to know this. Was my upgrade this week 😐
Yes. Daniel was having a shocker last week until the rampage of play on kick-ins came. Suckling has a great boot and will at least take some of his kick-ins. i have daniel and are almost wishing he was mundy instead
I was going to grab Daniel but now I'm gonna get Mundy, Daniel seems to stay around the 500 price tag… Mite wait a few weeks and see wat happens
Anyone else think this?
Its worth waiting on Daniel, at least another week
Beams likely out
JR SURVIVOR GROUPS
It is starting to get a bit tight in the JR Survivor Groups. We are down to just 14 teams left in each division, and when we have a week like last week, it doesn't take much for some of the high ranking teams to stumble.
It was a case of 7 out of the 10 teams eliminated had the big C on Dangerfield.
As per the rules of the competition, the two lowest weekly scores from each division are eliminated each week, unless you have immunity.
This weeks Eliminated teams are:
Div 1 – RupertsRaiders & Creamy Tuna Mornay
Div 2 – Dragonwolves Howl & One Touch Wonders
Div 3 – Hart-attack & Grind FC
Div 4 – Doc Splodge & Howie
Div 5 – Got Him, YES!! & The Union
No one needed to use their Immunity necklace this week
I have removed the above teams from the game.
This weeks top scorers all have immunity this week,
Div 1 – ShinBONERS (2156)
Div 2 – Titch'sTackleSnaps (2143)
Div 3 – Jaeger Bombs Pipes (2185)
Div 4 – GreendaleFC (2193)
Div 5 – Holt (2235)
Good luck everyone
The Mornay will be back! Creamier than ever!
Awesome work again Derek.
