Some of us have been doing it for a few weeks, but Patch has declared it: it’s Open Season on rookies, and time to begin culling like mad and upgrading like CRAZY. So, Lek and Patch look at which ones to cull and which ones we can leave to fatten and who you should be targeting with said cashola.

We also answer a few community questions and ask the terrifying question… should you trade out Dangerfield? (The answer is absolutely not you mad lads but at least listen to our logic behind it).

What are your trades this week?

We're definitely not late due to the two of us watching any worldwide phenomenon television show involving dragons and kings and queens and stuff. I don't know why you'd even suggest such a thing.

    Russty_ · 07/05/2019 at 01:19

You know it's on at 11 am your time right?..I guess I'm just lucky being able to watch it then if I want lol
I'm either doing 2 trades, or no trades this week..hard to bloody say yet.
    Trade out Dangerfield?…umm nah don't reckon I will…that's just rampant silly-ness.

Streaker · 07/05/2019 at 03:52

Gonna cull 2 rookies this week and bring in 2 more cash cows so I can build my cash up for a raid of premo's. Thoughts please.

Answerth
Hately
Corbett ( someone nobody is talking about)

    Holty01 · 07/05/2019 at 07:02

All good options. I guess we just have to wait for team selections and hopefully that will make the decision for us

      COREYSC · 07/05/2019 at 10:24

exactly right mate, I'll be looking at Butters to Hatley if Hatley doesn't play Butters to Fyfe my other trade will be Petruccelle to Corbett

    Daz · 07/05/2019 at 13:28

Not sure about the the double downgrade, do any of these rookies have good JS? I would look at Hately because his B/E is so negative that he will make enough money in few games to justify but there is nothing I hate more than a 175k rookie languishing on the bench.

      Streaker · 09/05/2019 at 05:59

Haven't got enough cash to geab Fyfe this week but with a double down grade can get him next neek or Whitfield. I won't upgrade for the sake of upgrading to a player who wo
Won't be top 6 or 8 in their position.

Diggers · 07/05/2019 at 06:44

Wanting to cash out on Petrucelle or Parker, but what not really any worthwhile fwd/mid newbies to bring in (Setterfield on mid bench DPP)??
Will D Moore (Hawks) get ongoing games?

    Phatman · 07/05/2019 at 07:01

I’d be holding Parker for a bit longer mate, his BE is only 12

    Streaker · 07/05/2019 at 09:13

Corbett will have good job security I reckon

Mick · 07/05/2019 at 07:40

Sitting about 2000, need a mid for $563,000 or less to plug a hole in mids, thinking Mundy, 1 percent owned, Fred going ok, low break even, as not convinced other mids in this price range that I haven’t got will be certain top 10 mids, got Fyfe Neale macrea Cripps Walsh Oliver m crouch. Can move forward when time suits as good chance to be top 8 forward. Good move or stupid

    SC_Kev7 · 07/05/2019 at 08:28

Few names to consider, Mick. Cunnington, Pendles, Gaff

      Swans2012 · 07/05/2019 at 08:42

      I like gaff

        DEE · 07/05/2019 at 08:49

        Pendles

      Tofa · 07/05/2019 at 20:31

I like Cunnington, avg of 113 and less than 2% owned plus he's North so he still makes points when his team stinks it up

    Derek · 07/05/2019 at 09:52

Blakely will be back this week for Freo. Will effect Mundy

DEE · 07/05/2019 at 07:45

Good morning community, could someone please tell me Ziebell’s BE…. Thank you.

    Cam_H · 07/05/2019 at 08:12

    34 :O)

      DEE · 07/05/2019 at 08:36

      Cheers

Yep · 07/05/2019 at 08:52

Is it safe to say that O’brien Can hold R2 and we can trade Goldstein to a premo on another line?
I’m thinking of getting Neale (using a second rookie downgrade trade)

    DRay · 07/05/2019 at 10:15

What will you do when Jacobs comes back? You're better to wait until Jacobs returns, cash out RO'B then, and use the cash to upgrade to Gawn or Grundy, depending on who you don't have.

      Yep · 07/05/2019 at 10:55

I would downgrade a rookie then upgrade o'brien to Grundy… got Gawn.

        redherringfc · 07/05/2019 at 18:36

I think you’re plan is ok. It seems a waste having such scoring sitting on your bench. When is Jacobs due back?

How much will Neale outscore the rookie you upgrade by? this should be a good chunk more than the difference between Goldy and ROB. Plucking numbers out of thin air, you’ll probably be 30 points a week better off. And it really only costs you the trade that you would use to upgrade Goldy to Grundy later anyway.

Derek · 07/05/2019 at 09:50

Blakely will be back this week. Will effect Mundy and Walters in the midfield

Holty01 · 07/05/2019 at 09:55

Clark and Petrucelle out for me this week.

nat fyfe · 07/05/2019 at 10:23

does libba have to go? or do we hold?

    KSinny · 07/05/2019 at 11:36

I'm very tempted to trade but not 100% sure

      The Ranger · 07/05/2019 at 12:58

Same here Sinny, if he moves back to the mids and Dunkley goes back forward then he's worth holding.
Hard to know what the Dogs midfield make up is from week to week at the moment.

    SC_Kev7 · 07/05/2019 at 12:52

Consider what rookies you have that need to be culled and do that first. Libba on field over a rook is a better option.

      Brn · 07/05/2019 at 17:25

True. But we have come to a defining point where libba is going to drop lots of cash. Cant afford to risk seeing more low scores from him imo. Upgrade to fyfe for me.

        Brn · 07/05/2019 at 17:26

Its either keep libba for a long time or lose him now

      Tofa · 07/05/2019 at 20:34

Yeah I'm gonna move Butters and Libba out for Answerth and Bont. there's other options I could lose like Petrucceli or Clark but Libba will lose the most coin

COREYSC · 07/05/2019 at 10:28

Butters to Hatley (if Hately isn't named Butters to Fyfe)
Petrucelle to Corbett
Leaves me with 667K in the bank to begin upgrade season

    Sana · 07/05/2019 at 11:53

    Daniel

    Holty01 · 07/05/2019 at 11:54

    Any of them except Walters.

      Derek · 07/05/2019 at 15:08

Walters will be pushed forward when Blakely is back

hedski · 07/05/2019 at 11:28

Collins and Butters most likely to get the chop this week for me.

Mr_Pink_ · 07/05/2019 at 12:08

Gibbons and Drew for me – if rookies permit will do double downgrade this week… Probably need one rookie with a bit more cash behind them (Drew) to free up options for next week… one premium defender and one premium midfielder in… should have the cash for Ryan and Macrae

    Hold Fire · 08/05/2019 at 12:46

Wines out for a month, should mean Drew goes back into the middle for large minutes again.

Sam_01 · 07/05/2019 at 12:59

2126 for me this round moving me up 440 spots to rank 1114 overall
Will be looking at libba and Petrucelle out then Boak and Answerth in, allows me to have stack on field instead of Parker/Petrucelle. 125k in the bank, hopefully looking at a walsh to josh kelly direct swap the week after

    JMor · 07/05/2019 at 21:32

    Hey man,
Boak has the first bye and is around his peak price so I would consider trading him in R13,

Not sure what other FWD's you have but IMO both Jezza Cameron & C Daniels are both excellent value, should be top 6 and low ownership so will get you up the ranks.

Good luck for the rest of the season

      Sam_01 · 09/05/2019 at 23:03

Hey mate I did consider this but I reckon Boak will have a blinder in the show down and back it up with another solid showing against GC the week after I’ll be looking at grabbing Daniels as my last fwd after his bye leaving me with
Boak, danger, kelly, heeney, Dunkley, Daniels

Murray · 07/05/2019 at 13:15

Who is best premo mid of the 4 below to get in this week and why, taking into account:
current price,
ave,
BE,
price ceiling and
scoring potential for the rest of the season ?

Pendlebury, bontempelli, gaff or McRae?

    Hazey · 07/05/2019 at 13:28

    Gaff

      Murray · 07/05/2019 at 13:38

      any reason for Gaff Haze

        Hazey · 08/05/2019 at 22:47

Super consistent…. But I'm playing both DT and SC this year for cash, so maybe he's more DT relevant looking at it

    Daz · 07/05/2019 at 14:04

if his bye wasn't shit would be on gaff like a rash, going along ok, good price, if the eagles get there mojo back gaff will avg 110 easy.

    Sana · 07/05/2019 at 14:49

Pendles? Surrounded by too many other premo mids, good lately though… ultra low BE
Bont? Good BE, but can dip below at times
Gaff? Great price and BE, crap Bye
Macrae? Highest Ceiling, Good price for what he's capable of, crap BE

Bont might tick all the boxes, but feel not having Macrae could hurt at some point. One of those two. Gaff after his Bye and Pendles not for mine.

      Murray · 07/05/2019 at 19:25

      Thanks sana

      Hazey · 08/05/2019 at 22:49

Tanking Rd13 is coming in to consideration here!

Hodgey · 07/05/2019 at 13:48

Any suggestions for a clear newbie?

24 trades – 713k in the bank

DEF: Lloyd, Williams, Smith, Hanley, Duursma, Scrimshaw (Ridley, Rotham)

MIDS: Cripps, Macrae, Fyfe, Coniglio, B Crouch, Walsh, Constable, Ross (Gibbons, Atkins, Hayes)

RUCK: Gawn, ROB (Lycett)

FWDS: Dangerfield, Kelly, Rozee, Drew, Petrucelle, Parker (Setterfield, Burgess)

I get that I'm holding too much cash and have a lot of mid priced players rather than the GnR strat.

    Sana · 07/05/2019 at 14:23

Need to bolster that forward line I reckon. Daniel or Marshall in? and Petrucelle with a BE of 59 is about cooked I reckon.

      Sana · 07/05/2019 at 14:27

PS. If you've got considerable testicular fortitude, Josh Dunkley could be a goer if he gets to keep playing midfield… and Westhoff is dirt cheap for decent returns the last two weeks… Round 12 byes handy too (as with Daniel and Marshall)

    Derek · 07/05/2019 at 14:59

    Ridley to Bines (via Burgess)

This will give you a Def/Fwd swing set – Rozee/Burgess. Burgess hand for rookie loopholes forward and defence.

Also gives you a Fwd/Ruc swing set – Lycett/Bines. Let’s you put Lycett on field in forward line but still gives you tuck cover. Port have a great run of games and Lycett will be more than handy.

Also adds to your war chest

Second trade can by Gibbons to Boak (via Setterfield). Boat is a must have with Ports run of games.

Also gives you a Mid/fed swing set

      Hodgey · 07/05/2019 at 17:06

      Thanks Derek

        Nifty · 07/05/2019 at 17:30

Not dangerous with 4 Port players in forward line?

          Derek · 07/05/2019 at 18:55

2 are only rookies. Rozee and Drew will be gone by r12.

Port have the showdown this week and then Suns, Hawks and Saints before the bye. Not bad.

If you look at Ports run after their bye, very good. After Fremantle, they have 5 of the next 6 at Adelaide Oval. They should go ok.

            Sana · 07/05/2019 at 19:16

Agree on Boak and Ports run – can’t argue with his form. Not sure on bringing in Bines to go with Rotham and Burgess as non playing rookies. Lots of cash now, what about later? Many swings and loops though!

              Derek · 07/05/2019 at 19:24

Hodgey has still got 24 trades, using one to get over $400k off the bench is ok.

Even when he trades in Grundy to replace ROB he would be wise to keep Lycett as ruck cover and eventually end up at F7

Bines offers the best VC option at R3

                Sana · 07/05/2019 at 21:54

Yeah the Bines move gets things moving. I’m with ya, sold!

            Hodgey · 07/05/2019 at 21:01

So if I were to bring in Boak now, it'd be wise to trade Rozee/Drew out prior to the bye?

Otherwise, would an option be to bring in Daniel/Cameron now and bring Boak in after his bye?

Thanks for all the help Derek et al

              Derek · 08/05/2019 at 10:08

News that Wines will miss a month is great for Rozee and Drew.

Boak is a must have, so the longer we leave it the more we fall behind.

Round 12 bye shouldn’t be a problem, fielding 18 that round looks easy.

Cameron is going well, has a nice draw but I’m worried about his shoulder, clearly carrying it and not sure getting him this far from season end is good. GWS run over the last month of season is insane and he will be a must have then especially if the Colman is close.

Daniel is playing super. I listen to game on radio and all I heard was Daniel Daniel Daniel. The only thing I’m looking at is JJ’s role in team. He hasn’t effected Daniel yet, but that could change now JJ has got a bit more fitness

                Hodgey · 08/05/2019 at 13:38

Giving me a lot to consider mate.

Any thoughts on Marshall over Daniel if that's the case with JJ coming into form?

    Daz · 07/05/2019 at 18:48

Mate I started Bsmith, Zwilliams, dmoore, libba, bcrouch, trockliff and sitting 50th overall, nothing wrong with some mid priced madness this year until it all comes falling down like a house of cards haha.

    Tofa · 07/05/2019 at 20:48

I'd ditch Petrucceli and Gibbons for Daniel and Neale. leaves u with $104k in the bank and ups ur scoring over 100 points.

    silversovereign · 08/05/2019 at 09:23

I agree with everything Derek said except that Lycett is a keeper. Keeping Lycett this week might give you good fwd cover this week particularly if danger is a late out but I would be looking to trade him up to a premium fwd ASAP after this week.

      Hodgey · 08/05/2019 at 13:37

I suspect I'll be moving Lycett on down the track, but happy to keep him in for this week to get the rookies upgraded

      Derek · 08/05/2019 at 20:38

What do you do if/when Grundy or Gawn miss a week?

        Hodgey · 09/05/2019 at 07:49

        Touche

    Russty_ · 08/05/2019 at 21:59

Hi Hodgey, not sure why you still have Hanley or Ridley, and Rotham at all, backline's a bit of a trainwreck (no offence).
Fwd line's not as bad but not far behind.
Derek's suggestion on getting Bines in is valid to get Lycett fwd, and then I'd address one of your defenders rather than bringing a fwd in, and trade for the next few weeks too, you've got problems to fix.

      Hodgey · 08/05/2019 at 22:38

That would be a first timer error I reckon – too focused on trying to generate cash (by trading in rotham) rather than bringing in premiums.

Upgrading defence is on the radar with Ryan and Laird being my targets. Forward line seems to be the aim this week first though

Daz · 07/05/2019 at 13:58

Long time listener, dont comment all that often, bit stuck..Libba/ gibbons to bont/hately or scrimshaw/drew to bont/answerth? want a pod-ish player and rookie with J/S, looking to the byes so can improve on rank.

…Real question I should ask is Libba actually playing a different role? haven't watch the dogs last two games and looking for some insight from doggies supporters? Is he attending less centre bounces? Because I think if his role is the same you hold him? mayb?

    Brn · 07/05/2019 at 17:21

Dunkley has taken his role. He also appeared to be doing some tagging (badly). Who knows what he will be doing next week

      Brn · 07/05/2019 at 17:22

And with the high BE he has become too much of a risk for me

Tofa · 07/05/2019 at 16:03

I'd love for you guys to do a tiny segment on PODs, since this week probably proved that going with the crowd's premiums means my team stinks when everybody else's does. So is the whole point the fact that a team with enough pods has resilience against the popular mids having rubbish weeks? (Assuming you've still got top 6-10 guys in each part of the field)

Russty_ · 07/05/2019 at 17:16

Looks like Danger's a chance to miss, he said it's going to be a late call whether he plays or not.

    Holty01 · 07/05/2019 at 17:23

Not good when he plays Sunday. Hard to put a plan in place if he pulls out just b4 the game.

      Russty_ · 07/05/2019 at 17:32

You're not wrong mate, still waiting on his scan results though..I might have to field Balta if he doesn't get up.

        Shake_n_bake · 07/05/2019 at 19:00

Only me but don’t think he gets up.

          Russty_ · 07/05/2019 at 19:46

    Unbreakable!

Rick Grimes · 07/05/2019 at 17:18

    JohnDJ59 · 07/05/2019 at 22:49

    DavidC · 08/05/2019 at 07:14

They are fools, that's the problem.

redherringfc · 07/05/2019 at 18:28

He’s a prick who cost me my unbeaten status in a league, going down by 3.

If you want someone who has the potential to do that to opposing supercoach players then I guess he’s not too bad.

Derek · 07/05/2019 at 19:16

I’d love it if Cats rested Gaz this week

    dontblushbaby · 07/05/2019 at 19:21

Yep, its on the cards to make a statement, also you would think that Constable will be in, he had a good game in the VFL

neil demons delight · 07/05/2019 at 20:11

F7 and M8 are going to play a big part given our many spud rookies. A good DPP mid /fwd would be worth looking at for the pointy end

    Derek · 07/05/2019 at 20:57

Are you talking about the Chad? He could repeat 2018.

      Russty_ · 07/05/2019 at 21:04

I'm not going near him unless he shows some solid consistent numbers, why were his team mates having a go at him?…laziness…lack of defensive pressure?

        Lazza · 08/05/2019 at 20:12

I heard it was for kicking to the wrong position and not adhering to team rules of giving off to a player with eyes forward.

      Twilightingale · 08/05/2019 at 10:38

If he plays as a pure mid like he did for Port towards the end of last year, trade for him in a heartbeat. Just not SC relevant playing deep forward.

      neil demons delight · 08/05/2019 at 18:24

It's a tad early but Chad fits the bill.

Dash · 07/05/2019 at 20:15

85 K – Seeking your best two trades this week. Double down or up and down

Laird, Whitfield, D Moore, Sicily, Duursma, Collins (Clark, Burgess)
Macrae, Cripps, Fyfe, Neale, Libba, Walsh, Butters, Atkins, (Hayes, Scott, Gibbons)
Gawn, Grundy, (Bines)
Danger, Heeney, Boak, Drew, Petrucelle, Parker (Setterfield, Balta)

    Brn · 07/05/2019 at 20:41

    Offer some suggestions?

      Brn · 07/05/2019 at 20:47

Well obviously your fwd line is in trouble. Usually I would say you need to get petrol and parker off the field asap. But at the same time, playing butters and atkins in the midfield is probobly worse. Trade 1 up and 1 down for sure. Butters and petrol out seem the best trades. Would look at trying to get fyfe for butters, and corbett for petrol. The other option is answerth (mid) for butters, and petrol to kelly, daniel, and dunkley respectively. Although I like Dunkley as a pod considering what we know he can do. Good luck

      dontblushbaby · 07/05/2019 at 20:54

Double down, there are a lot rookies , suggest – Collins – Answerth & Butters – Hately – if named ?, next week paint the fence with Petrol ,Clark ,Gibbons or Parker to whoever you want imo

    Russty_ · 07/05/2019 at 20:51

Hi Dash I think you need to start getting rid of some of those rookies but you can't do much with 85k.
Maybe double down and make some cash for upgrades next week.
Butters is done for cash generation, as is Petrucelle and Gibbons probably, Collins is shite, Scott is dead in the water as is Burgess.
Maybe get Answerth and Hately if they're named or Corbett fwd.
It's tough especially if you miss rookies like Ross, Stack, Baker etc who are scoring well.

      Dash · 07/05/2019 at 21:37

Yes missed all the Richmond guys. Caught napping. It was the week where it was hard to make the decisions early. Oh well.
Have to start again somewhere. Thanks for the advice.

        Russty_ · 07/05/2019 at 21:42

Know what ya mean..I only got Ross out of those 3, can make a real diff to your season but keep fighting on.

TOPHAWK1 · 07/05/2019 at 20:31

Got the paint brush out this week. The fence looks jaded and needs a coat of paint. Thinking of punting Libba and Clark for Answerth and Macrae. Great swingset opened with Duursma and Macrae nice value at $581K. (BE still high 149) I am not sure what the hell Bevo is doing with Dunkley and Libba, but Macrae will stay in the guts, because he will. Thoughts?

    Russty_ · 07/05/2019 at 20:39

Hi TH, pretty good trades there I think, if I was doing similar I think I'd go for Bont over Jack the way Bont's going, but both are top notch picks.
I'm thinking about sticking with Libba a bit longer to see what happens.

      TOPHAWK1 · 07/05/2019 at 20:48

Hi Russsty! I was $2800 bucks short to get the Bont. Had I had the coin I would have taken Bontempelli. Still, Macrae is smart buying at his current price whilst I have the chance. Next week he might be $10K cheaper but who cares. The way Beveridge is buggering Libba around (playing forward) he may well drop $30K next week. Then this opportunity is lost. Unless there are big surprises when teams drop on Thursday, I reckon these are two decent trades.

        Russty_ · 07/05/2019 at 20:59

In that case mate, yes perfect trades..bummer about that shortfall but either are solid as.
Worried Libba will drop cash for me but I'm doing something else this week which takes priority.
Danger is now in the mids with Ross backing him up lol
I'm actually pretty happy with how my side's starting to look and I'm scoring better now after my shite-filled start to the year.

P.S also, Macrae could drop a 170 next week and start going up again so good timing.

    Frigate · 08/05/2019 at 00:44

Trying to work that out – looked it up on Urban Dictionary – not appropriate to post.

      Russty_ · 08/05/2019 at 13:30

It has a different meaning in regards to Supercoach mate, get your mind out of the gutter, lol

    TommyC99 · 08/05/2019 at 17:27

    Hey TH,

Like the trades mate, i'm contemplating doing similar except im thinking Boak or Fyfe. Only thing stopping me is Hately. Rookies would usually be a priority but with Libba expected to drop large amounts of Cash this would be the week to do it

Jimmyp · 07/05/2019 at 21:25

Need little help here. Culling and upgrading mid for either Bont or Fyfe (he always frustrates with injury or suspension)?? I already have Macrae for what it's worth
Cheers

    Russty_ · 07/05/2019 at 21:33

Hey Jimmy, I wouldn't worry about the fear of Fyfe getting injured or whatever, he's tough, Bont is also a good choice, both are great for avoiding round 13 bye outs.

The Haze · 07/05/2019 at 22:25

Top of the table clash this week so need a league win to stay up there and get a game up….24 trades left – $162k in the bank

Need to field strongest side possible. Gotta cull rookies. Was thinking scrimshaw and butters to go….but trying to work out who I need? Thinking a premium mid and maybe Hately?

DEF: Laird, Williams, Smith, Duursma, Hore, Answerth (Scrimshaw, Clark)

MIDS: Cripps, Fyfe, Oliver, Coniglio, Walsh, Stack, Constable, Drew, (Atkins, Scott, Butters)

RUCK: Gawn, Grundy (Sweet)

FWDS: Boak, Dangerfield, Heeney, Dunkley, Marshall, Rozee (Petruccelli, Setterfield)

    Russty_ · 07/05/2019 at 22:32

Hey Haze, maybe time to stop depending on rookies so much in your def and mid lines, you need some solid premos in your mids for sure.

      The Haze · 07/05/2019 at 22:42

Yep agreed. Have stuck with them while I've been winning games but feel their lives are coming to an end! Butters and scrimshaw first in firing line. Keen to get Neale but thinking with a BE of 131 might be worth waiting? Like the look of Ryan in defence or do you think Lloyd is a safer bet?

        Gainsy · 08/05/2019 at 16:15

A few for this week.. westhoffffff, bont, pendels, kelly, old man mundy

        redherringfc · 08/05/2019 at 18:28

Neale is averaging 132, so a break even of 131 is par for the course.

Steeeve · 07/05/2019 at 22:48

Not sold on Corbett. Sick of slow burners. If Hateley and Answerth are picked they're in my team. I'll keep my bad forward rookies if I have to. Eventually I'll just upgrade them by downgrading rookies on other lines.

Robb · 07/05/2019 at 23:29

Trading Walsh out this week for Fyfe downgrading another rookie or Answerth

If Hately is named should he be my priority over getting in Fyfe ?

    silversovereign · 08/05/2019 at 09:07

No mate. Get fyfe while you can. Hately has poor security, might only get one more game for a while.

    JMor · 08/05/2019 at 11:10

Hately's 85 & 90 are what you can expect from him though. He was one of my few rookies I was eyeing off for a mid-season debut (including Cavarra & Corbett both due to perceived strong js).

Don't trade in Hately in at your own risk, when he pumps out another 100 this week you'll be questioning why you didn't trade in a rookie who's score 95, 85 and 100 in consecutive weeks.

Maal · 08/05/2019 at 01:46

Collins is out<img src="https://s04.flagcounter.com/mini/rzN/bg_FFFFFF/txt_dddddd/border_ffffff/flags_0/" width="1"/>

ROB14 · 08/05/2019 at 06:07

Dropping Drew and Collins this week…
Want to bring in a forward and back premo
Which back out of Hurn, Sicily or Ryan?
And forward from Daniel, mundy or Cameron?
Interested in what you guys think?

    silversovereign · 08/05/2019 at 09:04

Wines and Ebert out should be good for drew this week. Hurn will probably be most consistent. GWS have an easy draw so Cameron could be worth a punt. I normally steer clear of exclusive forwards but he is tempting me.

    Gainsy · 08/05/2019 at 16:39

    Hurn. Mundy.

    ROB14 · 09/05/2019 at 11:14

Think I will keep Drew with the loss of Wines and Ebert, gonna get rid of Collins and Petruccelle for Sicily and Daniel…

DavidC · 08/05/2019 at 07:01

Wow, Liverpool just beat Barcelona 4-0 to reach the Champions League final.

DavidC · 08/05/2019 at 07:05

Wines out for a month.

Binga · 08/05/2019 at 09:46

Thoughts on Walsh & Clark out to Fyfe and Answerth?

    KSinny · 08/05/2019 at 09:50

Wouldn't be culling Walsh till the byes

      Binga · 08/05/2019 at 09:56

      Walsh has breakeven of 97.

        redherringfc · 08/05/2019 at 18:31

If he hits his projected scores his break even will drop back to the 60’s for a few weeks. He’s a good chance to add another 50k or more and keep getting you 90 to 100 points a week.

    Gunner · 08/05/2019 at 11:02

    Keep Walsh through the byes

    Richard · 08/05/2019 at 12:13

Do it. Walsh has done his job.

      Binga · 08/05/2019 at 12:20

Instead of Fyfe I could go Caleb Daniel

    Gainsy · 08/05/2019 at 15:56

Week or 2 early for the outs. A week late on fyfe and right time for answerth… mixed bag there.

RealDealNeale · 08/05/2019 at 10:28

23 trades & 38k bank:

B – Hurn Whitfield Williams Smith Moore Hore (Duursma Clark)
M – Neale Cripps Oliver Brayshaw Rocky Libba B.Crouch Atkins (Gibbons Scott Hayes)
R – Grundy ROB (Bines)
F – Danger Kelly DeGoey Dunkley Lycett Drew (Schultz Setterfield)

Which move?
A – Clark & Libba > Answerth & Bont
B – Clark & Gibbons > Answerth & Hately
C – Clark & Lycett > Answerth & Cameron
D – other?

    Gunner · 08/05/2019 at 11:04

    Prefer B of the options

    Gainsy · 08/05/2019 at 15:57

Am looking at A so thats some support for that option

    JohnDJ59 · 08/05/2019 at 16:27

Option B if both Answerth and Hately are named, but option A is the best.

    Derek · 08/05/2019 at 21:01

    Don’t like Hately’s JS.

I’d just go Clark to Answerth.

    Hold your trades

Gunner · 08/05/2019 at 11:08

Kade Simpson (out for another 2 weeks – hamstring) – keep or trade?

22 trades left. I've earmarked one trade for a FWD upgrade this week –
Petrucelle + cash > Daniel or Kelly, yet to decide.

Shall I use the other trade on a Simpson replacement?

Cheers!

    Gainsy · 08/05/2019 at 15:58

If youve kept him all this time it might be better to just suck it up and trade up rookies to premos in other spots

Beezneez · 08/05/2019 at 11:21

I'm bringing in Fyfe this week but the only way I can do it is with one of the following trades:

Option 1: Gibbons to Answerth/Hately & Constable
to Fyfe.
Option 2: Petrucelle to Answerth via D Moore
& Gibbons to Fyfe.
Option 3: Gibbons to Answerth def via Duursma to
mids and then trade Duursma for Fyfe.

Cons:
Option 1: Like Constable's output if he's playing
although Fyfe will score better. Have
Walsh, Stack, Ross, Hayes and, if traded,
Hately/Answerth.

Option2: Lose my dpp swing with Moore and
Burgess which has been ultra helpful
(Moore for Whitfield and possibly
Dangerfield this week). Have no fwd/mid
swing.

Option 3: Think Duursma (d5 or 6) provides good
backup atm. Also have Hore, Lockhart
and currently Burgess.

Guess another option would be Petrucelle to Larkey and then Gibbons to Fyfe. This would probably be the most ideal option but Larkey's 40 last week doesn't install me with confidence but then the JS of Answerth and Hately are questionable but with their performances they shouldn't be.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Beezneez · 08/05/2019 at 11:42

Option 3 above should just be Duursma to Answerth and Gibbons to Fyfe. My bad getting carried away with dpp swings.

    JohnDJ59 · 08/05/2019 at 12:45

I like option two, Petrucelle is ready to be traded as is Gibbons. If Constable isn't named for this weekends game, option one.

      Beezneez · 08/05/2019 at 12:54

Thanks JohnDJ. Constable not playing would make it easier but we could have the doubt over late in/out with Danger. Team selection will be the key.

        JohnDJ59 · 08/05/2019 at 15:56

That's just it Beez, if Danger misses, Constable would have to play.

Tommo09 · 08/05/2019 at 13:54

Corbett or Answerth?
If they are named

    Ja191 · 08/05/2019 at 14:35

Anseworth. Corbett is a forward at gold coast

    The Ranger · 08/05/2019 at 14:36

If it's a straight choice then Answerth but I'm not seeing a lot of fwd rookies coming thru and Corbett would seem to have reasonable JS.

Shake_n_bake · 08/05/2019 at 14:11

RIP Lou black n white thru & thru. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Whitchyyy · 08/05/2019 at 14:45

Thinking of going Clarke and Butters down to Answerth and Hately instead of painting the fence. No decent rookies will be on the bubble next week, and we have been given two rookies who seem to be capable scorers and should make decent coin before the byes, assuming they get named this week and keep their spots. Anyone else thinking the same?

    Yeahnah · 08/05/2019 at 15:09

I've got the same idea, except Corbett and Answerth for Scrimshaw and Petrucelle. Looking at the rookies that played their first game last week, the pickings are very slim. Going double downgrade this week allows for double upgrade next week.

    Gainsy · 08/05/2019 at 15:59

Not looking at hately as much as answ but i like the thought

    JohnDJ59 · 08/05/2019 at 16:03

Hi Whitchyyy, If both Answerth and Hately are named they will be hard to pass up, I kind of hope only one is as I really need to upgrade my midfield, since I started really shallow there due to there being so many good rookies and went deep in the fwd line.

    BrownlowBoy · 08/05/2019 at 16:39

If both named both will be coming into my team.

      The Ranger · 08/05/2019 at 17:39

Bit worried about Hatelys job security, Kelly and Whitfield are still to come back in.

        Maverick_ · 08/05/2019 at 19:12

If hately can be named with both whitfield and kelly's return weekend. lock!
I missed stack and baker worrying about there JS not making the same mistake here

Nozzy · 08/05/2019 at 15:00

Is it worth getting rid of Drew in order to get in Fyfe seeing as Wines is out?

TommyC99 · 08/05/2019 at 16:59

Which 2 trades are more important this week?

1. Scrimshaw – answerth
2 gibbons – hately (could do answerth instead)
3. Libba – Fyfe/boak
4. Petrucelle – Corbett

    Gainsy · 08/05/2019 at 18:59

    1 2 4 3

    Maverick_ · 08/05/2019 at 19:19

    if hatelys named
    1234

    if not
    1342

    Lazza · 08/05/2019 at 20:07

We need 3 trades this week … problem is beyond this week it’s hard to see where the next downgrades are coming from. Do not miss any downgrades .. so any of 1,2 or 4 ahead of 3.

Gibbs · 08/05/2019 at 18:26

Tossing up my forward Trade in this week, at the moment locked in on Caleb daniel but unsure about Boak. Is he worth the extra 80 k it would cost to get him in? Averaging 118 can he keep it up, or will he likely finish closer to 110?

    Derek · 08/05/2019 at 20:52

Boak will average more than 100 from here on. That will put him in top 6 forwards. Only decision is when to get him. He is probably at his max price so you don’t need to get him this week or even before his bye. But after Crows he has Suns, Hawks and Saints. I’ll want those points

Gainsy · 08/05/2019 at 18:53

Anyone looking at Menegola?

    TommyC99 · 08/05/2019 at 18:59

I would be if he didnt have the round 13 bye

jimmy · 08/05/2019 at 19:18

D- Lloyd, Shepard, Crisp, Smith, Hore, Duursma (clark,Burgess)
M- Cripps, Neale, Mcrouch, Coniglio, Brayshaw, Walsh, butters, Hayes (Setterfield, Gibbons, Scott)
R- Gawn, Grundy
F- Danger, Heeny, Daniel, Billings, Baker, Paker (pectrulle, Balta)

14.9k left anything i cn do to imprive my team ranked 50k overall

    Gainsy · 08/05/2019 at 19:49

2 or 3 good rookies on the bubble this week. Have you thought about trading out a rookie that has almost peaked in price and bringing 1 or 2 of the bubble rookies?

      Derek · 08/05/2019 at 20:42

      Clarke and Petruuclle out

      Corner and Answorth in.

      Build up your war chest

        dontblushbaby · 08/05/2019 at 21:09

        Who is Corner ?

          Russty_ · 08/05/2019 at 21:12

Probably auto correct for Corbett DBB

            dontblushbaby · 08/05/2019 at 21:21

Thanks, don't like his JS though

              Russty_ · 08/05/2019 at 21:26

Yeah could also be Burgess MK2

Russty_ · 08/05/2019 at 21:03

If Whitfield and Josh Kelly come back this week, and Hately is still named, who's job would he be taking to stay in the side long enough to make good money?

    dontblushbaby · 08/05/2019 at 21:24

Good question ,but Hately could be dropped again like last time after he played well in his first game

      Russty_ · 08/05/2019 at 21:25

Thinking the same dbb although he doesn't deserve to be, there just might not be room for him in that midfield.

        Gainsy · 08/05/2019 at 21:55

I would hate to trade in hately only for the hateful selection committee to interfere hatefully in hatelys rise.

          Russty_ · 08/05/2019 at 22:01

I would bloody hate that too Gainsy!…Hately needs to become the selector's mately ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Dan · 08/05/2019 at 21:28

    It's a good question.
It also makes me wonder if Hately is named and Josh Kelly isn't, should we still trade in Hately? Or will his j/s be too risky?

      dontblushbaby · 08/05/2019 at 21:38

I believe as we are at R8 the teams announcements tomorrow are going to be huge ,with injuries , rookies on the bubble, rookies dropped, decisions will be vital for this round for the future

Jezzaa · 08/05/2019 at 21:15

Cant offord Boak but undesicive on Cameron,C.Daniel or Mundy??

Any thoughts?

    Russty_ · 08/05/2019 at 21:27

Daniel's on a pretty good run, I might wait and see if Boak has a bad game or 2 and drops in price.

    Gainsy · 08/05/2019 at 21:45

    Oldman mundy for me.

      Derek · 08/05/2019 at 22:02

Blakely will be back this week, will hurt Mundy

        Brn · 09/05/2019 at 17:42

Suckling back will hurt Daniel. I like Mundy best

          Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 18:00

Maybe but not so sure Brn, Daniel and Suckling played together in the 1st 4 rounds and Daniel still averaged 103.

            Gainsy · 09/05/2019 at 18:12

From talking to a few weekend warrior mates one theory is that the 6-6-6 rule favours some older blokes… something about outsmarting and not just having to be gut running all the time… might be the rise of the 30+ year olds

FeverVFX · 09/05/2019 at 00:20

Need a bit of help with my current team

D: Whitfield, Smith, Witherden, Hore, Duursma, Scrimshaw (Clark, Ainsworth)
M: Cripps, Treloar, Fyfe, M Crouch, Parker, Rockliff, Walsh, Drew (Atkins, gibbons, Hayes)
R: Grundy, Goldstein (O’Brien)
F: Danger, Kelly, Billings, Dahlhaus, Moore, Baker (Bolton, Wicks)

Used 1 trade which was trading liberatore to Ainsworth and I’ve now got 350k in the bank to spend $$$

    Derek · 09/05/2019 at 10:51

I would trade Clark before Libba

      FeverVFX · 09/05/2019 at 12:54

Went clark to Ainsworth then Libba to macrae so I reckon they are good trades

Cindy · 09/05/2019 at 06:12

Thinking of off loading Libba but undecided on who to get Neale, Boak or the Bont I can afford them or us there someone else that would be better suited.

    FeverVFX · 09/05/2019 at 12:55

    Macrae or Oliver maybe?

Ktfg · 09/05/2019 at 06:55

What are your thoughts on Libba? Upgrade or hold?

    Maverick_ · 09/05/2019 at 08:56

If both named I’m looking to double down too answerth/hately from two fat cows. If only one is named though I’ll paint the fence libba to Fyfe/bont. His job role has changed

      Ktfg · 09/05/2019 at 13:37

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Going up to bont

Tbag86 · 09/05/2019 at 08:39

Who do you think is the better upgrade option:

Caleb Daniel or Tommahawk???

    Maverick_ · 09/05/2019 at 08:49

    Daniel

      Brn · 09/05/2019 at 17:40

all things considered (bewly, game time, etc) i'd still punt on mundy

TKC · 09/05/2019 at 09:49

Want to get both Hately and Answerth (if both named), but unsure who to trade out for Hately. Have Clark to trade out for Answerth, but my midfield is:

Cripps, Neale, Macrae, Fyfe, Rockliff, B.Crouch, Liberatore, Walsh – Constable, Stack, Hayes

Thinking Libba to Hately, but not sure. If Constable is left out again would he be a trade out option instead, despite the lowish BE?

    Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 11:17

I think if Constable isn't named, trade him, if he is…do Libba.
Libba just looked like he was hanging around on the fringe areas last week, and was largely ignored by his team mates as a go to option.

      Ktfg · 09/05/2019 at 15:11

I did notice that too… sometimes he was the better option and he still got ignored

        Brn · 09/05/2019 at 17:35

It is ridiculous that constable hasnt made much cash yet. I will continue to loophole him with stack etc until he comes back and makes the money he should.

        james · 09/05/2019 at 17:49

I noticed this also! i couldn't believe how many times his team mates burnt him when he was is great poitions to receive the ball on the outside of packs.. do we think his team mates are losing faith in libba or what could it have been…

neil demons delight · 09/05/2019 at 09:54

Hately would get a game with any other team and with Mummy ready to go I wonder if a Marshall and Hately trade would work. Win win for both. The Saints could easily get Pruess Or would Marshall join Hickey and McEvoy as sour deals. The saints need to be agressive after missing Kelly and picking up hacks NDD

    Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 11:13

Not sure about that one Neil, much as we need some decent mids at the Saints, we need a solid ruckman more..I'm hoping Marshall stays for the next 10 years.
We just need to stop doing stupid midfield trades like Hannebery..what a waste of money that was.

    gator59 · 09/05/2019 at 11:16

We could always trade Mcartin for Petracca and get what we should have had in the first place… But then again both crap.. We'll have Pruess instaed for our capt courageous Geary .. that would be fair

      Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 11:33

Max King getting a start in the VFL this week Gator, can't wait to see how he goes.

        gator59 · 09/05/2019 at 11:49

yes it'll be interesting to see how he goes.. When and if he plays in the big time I hope he has no impact on marshall.. we finally get some one half decent in the ruck and the coaches will find a way to f$%k him up

          Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 11:57

I don't think they'd risk him in the ruck with him coming off a knee and all, Bruce can pinch hit, at least he'd be contributing something then.

    Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 11:09

Hey AB, could be ok with Geary out for an extended period, Webster was initially thought to be missing games but could be back this week if he proves his fitness today.
There's an article on afl.com.au saying Hunter Clark is likely to be sent back to the VFL this week so Marsh and or Joyce could keep their jobs until Clark gets back into form I think.
As far as long term js goes, that's anyone's guess, Joyce's average isn't bad though for his 2 games.
Mckenzie could be under the gun too js -wise, hasn't exactly been consistent.

      AuroraBorealis?! · 09/05/2019 at 15:31

Cheers Russty, will have to wait and see i reckon

    gator59 · 09/05/2019 at 11:19

I don't think his JS is very good as Rob and Russty have said .. Get Answerth a lot better JS

      AuroraBorealis?! · 09/05/2019 at 15:30

Yeah already grabbed Answerth for constable Gator, looking at getting rid of Petrucelle for someone, might have to wait if Danger is out, currently only have Balta and Bines on the fwd bench

Shake_n_bake · 09/05/2019 at 11:18

Daniher might be out. Danger now likely to get up.

    Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 11:46

You reckon he will have recovered enough to play mostly mid Shake or will he resting forward most of the game?

      gator59 · 09/05/2019 at 12:06

I would say mainly forward Russty like he did last year when he went gangbusters boom shack alacka.. Who brought Molloy into this

    gator59 · 09/05/2019 at 11:54

That's good to hear shake.. We need danger on field but then again every man and there dog have him too so no great loss points wise… Only the dickheads that trade him out and then back in that like to burn trades like they're going out of fashion will benefit

      Maverick_ · 09/05/2019 at 12:07

I’d nearly prefer him on my bench gator and take rozzees score than cop another turd from danger. If named I expect him to play limited minutes and probably deep fwd. hopefully they rest him v north this weekend they should win comfortably anyway.

        gator59 · 09/05/2019 at 12:18

Yes true that Mav.. As long as we have bench cover.. It may not be ideal but we'll have to make do

    Shake_n_bake · 09/05/2019 at 12:07

People who trade will be because of the BE at 200 and then hope to get him back at say 40k cheaper. I know it wastes a trade but l can see people doing it.

      gator59 · 09/05/2019 at 12:20

Yes they'll do it Shake and that's two trades wasted haha

      TRIGGA_HAPPY · 09/05/2019 at 16:50

Danger to boak – nice bye

Rob to danger after his bye- almost straight swap

Some key takeaways from Chris Scott’s press conference this morning

Scott (On Constable): He will get his way back into the team at some point. A positive is we have a young guy that we rate really highly but we couldn't fit him in.

Scott: Paddy Dangerfield looks as if he might be okay. He will not train and will be tested later in the week.
He (Dangerfield) will be a last minute proposition

Nice Mav, thanks for the info, makes me feel better about trading him out last week now ๐Ÿ™‚
Sounds similar to the Hately situation maybe.

      Maverick_ · 09/05/2019 at 13:13

      No worries russty!
Yeah not sure what I’ll do about hately. Horrible JS but his high scoring means he doesn’t need a heap of games to make his cash I guess

        Beezneez · 09/05/2019 at 14:45

Expected to rise $80k after his next game whenever that might be. BE -93.

        Maverick_ · 09/05/2019 at 14:45

Could Chris Scott be playing mind games with brad? Danger to be named tonight and be a last minute out with constable coming in a real possibility… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyone think suckling returning will affect daniels scores?

    FearTheBeard · 09/05/2019 at 17:21

Would like to know this. Was my upgrade this week ๐Ÿ˜

      Brn · 09/05/2019 at 17:32

Yes. Daniel was having a shocker last week until the rampage of play on kick-ins came. Suckling has a great boot and will at least take some of his kick-ins. i have daniel and are almost wishing he was mundy instead

        ROB14 · 09/05/2019 at 18:13

I was going to grab Daniel but now I'm gonna get Mundy, Daniel seems to stay around the 500 price tag… Mite wait a few weeks and see wat happens

    Anyone else think this?

      Saritz · 09/05/2019 at 19:41

JR SURVIVOR GROUPS

It is starting to get a bit tight in the JR Survivor Groups. We are down to just 14 teams left in each division, and when we have a week like last week, it doesn't take much for some of the high ranking teams to stumble.

It was a case of 7 out of the 10 teams eliminated had the big C on Dangerfield.

As per the rules of the competition, the two lowest weekly scores from each division are eliminated each week, unless you have immunity.

This weeks Eliminated teams are:

Div 1 – RupertsRaiders & Creamy Tuna Mornay

Div 2 – Dragonwolves Howl & One Touch Wonders

Div 3 – Hart-attack & Grind FC

Div 4 – Doc Splodge & Howie

Div 5 – Got Him, YES!! & The Union

No one needed to use their Immunity necklace this week

I have removed the above teams from the game.

This weeks top scorers all have immunity this week,

Div 1 – ShinBONERS (2156)
Div 2 – Titch'sTackleSnaps (2143)
Div 3 – Jaeger Bombs Pipes (2185)
Div 4 – GreendaleFC (2193)
Div 5 – Holt (2235)

Good luck everyone

    Sana · 09/05/2019 at 16:31

The Mornay will be back! Creamier than ever!

    Holty01 · 09/05/2019 at 17:29

    Getting tougher now

    Derek · 10/05/2019 at 09:18

I noticed there were a couple of teams that were in more than one division. There was a bit of moving around at the start. I have taken them out, so they are only in one division. Evened then up

Lazza · 09/05/2019 at 17:20

I think we should rename this thread Panic Selection Table … ๐Ÿ˜€

Brn · 09/05/2019 at 17:49

Hately struggling to get games and costs too much. I'm going to pass. He wont be playing on field except maybe during byes (if he gets games), and wont outscore actual mid premiums

    Rocksta_ · 10/05/2019 at 03:52

    Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 21:50

Unreal…poor bloke can't catch a break, what more does he have to do?

Kewbie Bear · 09/05/2019 at 18:28

Hately must be scratching his head

    JohnDJ59 · 09/05/2019 at 21:40

It can't be doing his confidence any good, he's played two good games and dropped after each one. They could at least give him a block of three games to play.

hedski · 09/05/2019 at 18:32

With Bailey back in and Answorth holding his spot he seems a no brainer for me, bye bye Collins you've done your job.
No Hately leaves me with no head ache, Butters out = welcome the Hoff (swing Drew to mids).
Don't let me down you Bearded bastard.

    Saritz · 09/05/2019 at 18:35

Im very tempted by the Hoff. But need to see at least another week of 90+ scoring before Im convinced. I'll gladly pay the extra for the reassurance.

      hedski · 09/05/2019 at 18:52

Fair call Saritz, Hoff will slot into f5 for me, will cull O'Brien at the byes for Boak most likely and slide Bines back to R3. Still have Clark, Gibbons, Atkins, Petracelle and Parker all ripe for slaughter now so needed to make sure I could paint the fence this week, hopefully a few debutantes ready for more downgrades over the next couple of rounds.

      Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 21:50

The difference the last 2 weeks has been Marshall back in the side Saritz, it allows Hoff to roam up the ground more, I reckon he'll be ok from here on in.

        Saritz · 09/05/2019 at 22:04

I’m aware of Marshall’s effect on the Hoff, but he was so dominant last year because he was 2nd ruck and got good midfield/on the ball time. Statistically, his starting position is still predominantly as a forward over the last 2weeks. So I just need to be convinced his adventures running up the ground over the past fortnight continue. Because his primary/starting role is still a permanent forward.

          Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 22:12

He wasn't really all that dominant last year, only 10 tons and plenty of meh scores in between, I think if he ends up a 90 to 95 average it's a win.

Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 18:38

Whitfield out again…ouch for his owners.

    Saritz · 09/05/2019 at 18:48

even more ouch for those owners who traded out Z. Williams for him :/

      Adrian Long · 10/05/2019 at 16:03

      86, 45, DNP & DNP
So glad I traded out Williams to get Whitfield……

    KSinny · 09/05/2019 at 21:35

Very glad I traded him for Boak last week

TOPHAWK1 · 09/05/2019 at 18:39

Mumford OUT!! That makes things easy on the trade front for me. Mumford out, put ROB on the field, then swing Bines from the forward bench to the ruck bench and then have the Hoff as cover up forward should ROB or Grundy go down. Then use the Mumford cash to trade in Oliver via DPP and then punt Libba for Answerth. Nice swingset with Duursma. $231K in the kitty for one rook cull and an upgrade to either Neale, Macrae or Boak next week.

Happy that I traded in the Hoff and Sicily in last week for Whitfield. I knew that prick would miss more than one with that corkie. The Hoff now strategically huge for my team.

    Saritz · 09/05/2019 at 18:50

    Nice Hawk!!

    hedski · 09/05/2019 at 18:53

    Bang.

    Daz · 09/05/2019 at 18:59

When I was playing footy way back when I got a corky that ended up being a grade 3 tear of my quad, i couldn't walk for a good 4 weeks.
Hence I traded out whit last week too.

      TOPHAWK1 · 09/05/2019 at 19:07

Geez. I knew corkies can take time to heal, but turn into a quad tear like that is a bloody scary. Whitfield might be gone for some time yet.

Jack · 09/05/2019 at 18:45

Dylan Moore from Hawks or Corbett?

    Holty01 · 09/05/2019 at 18:47

I’m going Corbett if that helps. Think he looks good.

    Saritz · 09/05/2019 at 18:47

Larky is also a comparable alternative

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 09/05/2019 at 19:02

Danger playing late and could be a late out could cause all sorts of headaches.

All the rooks play before.
Have to pick the right E this week. ๐Ÿ˜–

    TOPHAWK1 · 09/05/2019 at 19:05

Scary Trigga. Dangermouse is a massive worry this week. I have Balta and Parker on the bench now as I moved Bines onto the ruck bench. The E will go to Parker as Balta is the worst rook to ever play consecutive games.

    hedski · 09/05/2019 at 19:06

I plan to have the E on Gibbons, if he goes alright I'll swing Danger to mids and Drew fwd.
If Gibbons is shit I'll chuck the E on Petracelle.
    Problem solved ๐Ÿ‘

      TRIGGA_HAPPY · 09/05/2019 at 20:33

Think I worked it out how to handle the danger will he play, wont he conundrum.

Swapped drew with danger to mids.
If constable not named will put him on the bench, danger on ground.

If danger is a late out surely constable comes in.

      Sub constable.

      Happy days.

    Lazza · 09/05/2019 at 19:10

Yep, and with Whitfield out there’s a double wammy coming when Danger misses .. do not see why they would play him unfit .. if he does play then Constable likely to miss. But I’m trading on the basis Danger is out.. fortunately I have no one playing Friday night… and no target ins either.. so can take an extra day to suss it out

Petrucelle to the Hoff and Libba to fyfe???

    Brn · 09/05/2019 at 20:06

Very dam good shark move, especially if you are lower ranked or need an edge. Libva has exceeded msy expectations and im not sure he is any good, especiqlly since he is using up a midfield spot. Imo libba's score was ridiculously inflated against the hawks due to his 'match winning touches/goal', and his 150 was only against the suns when he was given the midfield time he doesnt appear good enough for. Moreover, he looks done to me, and I cant take the risk. Fyfe is the true best sc scorer this year. Westhoff is a bargain and is the best option ever if you are looking for a cheap edge

Tommy · 09/05/2019 at 19:21

Moore vs Larkey vs Corbett
Thoughts??

    Saritz · 09/05/2019 at 19:38

Im leaning towards Larkey. Larkey and Moore I think have a higher avg ceiling than Corbett. Corbett would seemingly have the better job security of the trio, but his forward role in that Suns team means he will have some poor scoring weeks. I think Larkey has slightly better job security than Moore and he actually played better than his score suggested against Carlton last week. If you also factor the byes in, Moore has a R12 bye, which is potentially bad for a rookie, as you'll be tempted to trade rookies out to get maximum numbers on the field. This gives little time for Moore to fatten in price. Corbett and Larkey have R14 byes, A perfect week for them to be about right time for culling and upgrading to R12, R13 premos.

So overall, Id say 1) Larkey, 2) Moore, 3) Corbett

      Brn · 09/05/2019 at 19:50

Corbett first. Not like he is a gun but has great job security and only takes a few goals to make cash. He is actually a very good developing player and its a shame he plays for GCS

        DavidC · 10/05/2019 at 07:24

Corbett's job security is not as good as you think. In addition to Burgess, there is also Sam Day who is in good form in the 2's and also Ben King. They'll want to get at least a couple of games into King if they want to convince him to stay.

      The Haze · 10/05/2019 at 09:28

I'm learning towards Moore as Larkey is on the extended bench so could get the chop still

    silversovereign · 10/05/2019 at 09:29

None of the above for me. Can’t see any of them being great scorers so not willing to waste a trade for low points and minimal cash gain.

    Beezneez · 10/05/2019 at 11:17

I have the same dilemma and after reading the replies as am confused as ever. Corbett apparently missed a couple of easy shots last week which coild have boosted his score. Whoever I pick will be on the bench so it's not a big issue. Need the trade Petrucelle to one of them to get Gibbons for Fyfe. Could also do Petrucelle to Answerth via Burgess. One week no options another week too many.

Brn · 09/05/2019 at 19:42

Libba named on the ball with bont full forward..

Not fooling me this time Beveridge!

Libba to Fyfe and no more anxious WB games.

I couldn't care less if libba scores well, there is no room for scores of 58 and 71 from my premo mids.

    TOPHAWK1 · 09/05/2019 at 20:33

I agree. Bevo is full of scheit. Libba and Dunkley will be waxing through the midfield at best. The Bont does as he likes.

      Maverick_ · 09/05/2019 at 20:59

Yup libba is cooked brn i have both he and brayshaw so it’s time to move libba on now and if AB goes sub 100 v GC his next. Fyfe is absolute value so his the no brainer and Neale/macrae if need be nek week.

    Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 22:05

I was thinking about possibly keeping him a bit longer but the way his team mates were burning him last week, it says something's not right with him..good riddance and thanks for the cash Libba.

Daniel · 09/05/2019 at 20:15

Two questions
firstly what to do with Burgess & Scott? Made minimal us money

Secondly what to do with libba? First trade is answerth
Do I make libba number two with his 140 BE

Thanks

    Sam_01 · 09/05/2019 at 20:55

Really depends on your rookie situation mate! I’ve gone libba to Boak this week essentially but I have no spud rookies in my team at the moment

      Daniel · 09/05/2019 at 21:14

      I posted team in thread sam01 ๐Ÿ™‚

        Sam_01 · 09/05/2019 at 22:54

Couldn’t see it anywhere sorry mate! Look there’s not that many great downgrades this week for a double down, I’d look at upgrading Clarke butters scrimshaw Petrucelle if you have any of them on field or any other rookie stalling in cash that’s chucking out a 60 average! I’ve flicked him but only because my onfield rookies are all averaging 70 odd and will make/maintain cash

          Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 23:12

Think he posted it as Danny Sam, a few posts down.

Scott to Answerth and Libba to Fyfe.

    neil demons delight · 10/05/2019 at 08:13

Both excellent questions Libba was always a cash cow and has to be upgraded. It's too long to wait for the byes and the 2 stalling rooks Scott and Burgess are both too low to trade and too valuable as loops Later i will trade Scott for McHenery of Adelaide who will play some games later ,very quick player,or Cotterill, Burgess will become the other.Swing is going to be ultra important post byes . NDD

I’m thinking answerth is a must.
Double down or paint it?
plz help

    Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 22:01

Hi mate, Scott to Answerth creates the mid def swing you want unless you want to keep him as a loop.
Also if collins spuds again and starts losing money you could trade him next week but bring burgess back so he can swing with Moore.
I reckon Scott and Libba out this week.

JohnDJ59 · 09/05/2019 at 21:32

Is it better to trade out a player who has reached his BE, but is playing, or a player who still has cash to make, but isn't getting a game ?

    Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 21:44

If it's Constable you're talking about John, I have no regrets turfing him last week cause i got keepers with the trades I did.

      JohnDJ59 · 09/05/2019 at 21:58

Clark and Scott, at the moment I have traded out Scott for Answerth.

        Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 22:08

Hi mate, Clark's named on the ball so maybe keep a it longer, Scott's gotta go unless you want him for a perma-loop. Need cash from rookies though in order to upgrade.
Maybe just the one this week then, unless you can do another mid upgrade?

          JohnDJ59 · 09/05/2019 at 22:30

Clark, Scott, Constable and Pertruccelle were the ones I was looking at for trading out. Clark and Pert are at their BE, but playing, Scott and Constable still have cash to make, but not getting a game. I see Constable is on the extended bench, so there is still hope for him. I can use Clark for my next upgrade in defence, happy for Pert to just sit there, since his JS seems very good, so that left Scott. As for the upgrade, It is a balance isn't it Russty, you can have rookies still making money, but some of the premos demand to be traded in.

            Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 22:37

For sure mate….I need to reign in the trading or I'll be stuffed towards the end.

          neil demons delight · 10/05/2019 at 08:01

I am culling scott for mchenery Russty

    Derek · 10/05/2019 at 09:25

Last year I stuffed up and traded out good rookies to poor rookies around now. Went into the byes with a bunch of rookies that played aweful or got rested/omitted

Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 22:35

1: Which Rookies didn't you start with this year, that you think has helped your side progress?
2: Which one's did you pass on that you wish you had gotten?
3: Which ones do you wish you never started with?
4: Which ones did you start or bring in that you're happy with because they've done their job score-wise or made enough cash to trade?

For me…
1: Gibbons and Butters.
2: Stack and Baker…Hately, if he got rewarded for his efforts.
3: Balta, Burgess, Scott, Setterfield
4: Drew, Duursma, Parker, Walsh, Ross, Scrimshaw, Hore, Bines, ROB, Lockhart, Atkins, Constable, Collins, Clark.

    JohnDJ59 · 09/05/2019 at 22:52

1: Balta, 2: Rozee, 3:Scott, Gibbons, Butters, Setterfield, 4:Started: Hore, Duursma, Scrimshaw, Walsh, Drew, Constable, Traded in : Stack, O'Brien, Ross. All four of my group 3 are no longer in my team, traded them out for rookies on the bubble, including the three in group 4.

      Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 23:07

Nice one John, at least you weeded out the weakest links, it's important to have strong bench backup from here onwards.

    Sam_01 · 09/05/2019 at 23:00

I didn’t start gibbons or track his cash but his 100 could of done the trick to have made him a worth while pick
Burgess and Scott were dud picks by me
Upset I missed hore, but that said I traded him to Wilkie after he was dropped and then Wilkie pumped out a 112 shortly after, baker and Ross seem to have gotten the job done aswell I missed them
Apart from thOes guys I managed to get all the other good rookies as you mentioned

      Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 23:10

Hey Sam, yeah Hore's turned out to be an unexpected ripper, but Wilkie's not a bad consolation prize.
We've all missed some good ones along the way, except for maybe the guys right up there in the rankings, but a lot of it's luck and conjecture.
At least you got most of the solid ones.

    TRIGGA HAPPY · 09/05/2019 at 23:29

    Bit hash on gibbons rusty

he has made $150k in 7 rounds – that is a big tick for me

didn't start Collins, ridley or burgess – started Clarke, duusma and scrimshaw in def – tick

Because of the stupid Wednesday night game didnt pick up Ross on the bubble – only one I wish I hadnt passed on

wish never started balta but traded him to Rozee before rd 3 price change so corrected my mistake

Had all the good rookies to start – Walsh, drew standouts with the boys in he backline proving their worth, also started hore so got that one right.

Traded in Rozee and my biggest win – Miers on the bubble – nailed those two

Bringing in Answorth for butters this week – no brainer opens up the DPP and can move Duusma on deck in the mids

Happy started setterfield was a good DPP loop when out and now is back and can be the E in the fwd line

Scott probably only one who hasnt delivered really, even pet up fwd has given us $150 so did his job

As derek says only need the one big one to make some sweet quck cash.

      TRIGGA_HAPPY · 09/05/2019 at 23:33

OH and ROB of course – unfortunately not using his scores but he is making some serious coin to turn into boak after this bye

        Russty_ · 09/05/2019 at 23:52

Wasn't being harsh on Gibbons mate, just glad I didn't start with him, Miers is one I forgot, add him to the list of ones I wish I started with, he's good. ๐Ÿ™‚
Happy I traded Setters out in round 5, dude's only played 4 games.

Shake_n_bake · 10/05/2019 at 05:22

Bye bye footy show… great memories.

    neil demons delight · 10/05/2019 at 07:57

been going downhill for years Shake The front bar has stormed home.i

Sharkmove_King · 10/05/2019 at 07:33

Ainsworth looks like a solid rookie this week. But, has anyone thought of what's coming the following week? Nothing? Hams maybe, who scored 40 odd in his first game. The following week looks a little bleak too, unless Bewley or those 2 North rookies make the cut

neil demons delight · 10/05/2019 at 08:31

Maybe there are more rookies than we think. It will only take an injury or two for Adelaide to expose Sholl and McHenery McHenery is already immenent.A tackling machine plays and looks like Libba. Averages 10 yes 10 tackles in the lower ranks. and won the yo yo test for endurance, runs all day.Sholl played the JLT and did well enough to warrant R1 selection consideration. We really don't have to accept what's being dealt at present Hind is another NDD

    Derek · 10/05/2019 at 09:21

Ned was in my pre season team.

    Has DPP

He could be one I go early on now, gives me a swinging loophole until he plays

    TOPHAWK1 · 10/05/2019 at 09:39

Hi Neil. There will be more decent rookies appearing for sure. No need to panic if you have missed guys like Stack, Ross, and Baker. I missed those three but not concerned to the slightest. Those two you mention from the Crows are surely very close to selection now. Pinched Cam Guthrie from under your nose as a free agent in SC Draft mate! Couldnt believe my eyes that he was still there as a free agent. Guthrie pumped a big 107 SC after playing a fair bit in the guts last week..

    Beezneez · 10/05/2019 at 11:04

Unlike last year, the Crows have a lot more options for spots. McHenry may get a go but think Scholl would be dpwn the pecking order. Think Chayce Jones would be in front of those two atm (named as emergency this week). Then thete is Poholke in the mix. Luke Brown has come back and Douglas and Seedsman are close so can't see any rookies (apart from Jones) getting a gig soon. The only rook I cpuld see that may come in (apart from Jones) may be McAdam- that I'd like to see. I may be wrong but think the Crows will preference proven performers over new blood unless injuries occcur. Crows also running with Gallucci at present.

The Haze · 10/05/2019 at 09:26

Scrimshaw / Butters – Out

But having trouble choosing who to bring in:
Moore & Ryan (still have 3 rookies on field in def)
Or
Larkey & Bont (also have 4 rookies on field in mids)

Suppose it's a choice between Bont vs Ryan
And Moore vs Larkey…..

The unsullied · 10/05/2019 at 09:36

Ballarat has had 60mm of rain so far, might suit Libba. Should be a lot of stoppages.

    TOPHAWK1 · 10/05/2019 at 09:43

Interesting mate. You know a bit about Mars Stadium? Being a local ground, I presume the drainage is not as good as major venues like the G. If that is the case, it could be an good old fashioned glue pot like Moorabin back in the 1980's LOL

      TRIGGA_HAPPY · 10/05/2019 at 11:50

Good luck to anyone going to the rat this weekend.

Going to be freezing cold and wet.

But yeah will be back to the good old days where marvel was a pipe dream.

The unsullied · 10/05/2019 at 09:52

Not as bad as moorabbinin in the old days but with more rain predicted it will be interesting. Makes a Bulldogs captain a bit of a risk.

TBone_9 · 10/05/2019 at 10:23

Hmm lot of options to ponder this week. Whitfield out for another has got me worried though, GWS never give us anything do they? Butters needs to go, but him getting dropped could be half useful as a donut to get best rookie score in the mids. Collins also ripe to go, but would then have to play Answerth on field in defense as no good undervalued premos there. I’m thinking Butters out, Answerth in, then either Collins out to Marshall/Westhoff via some DPP magic or Whitfield out bring Lloyd/Boak in while I still can as we are unsure on his health going forward. Hope everyone else is looking forward to their trade plans!

    Ja191 · 11/05/2019 at 07:51

Yup Whitfield could come in next week or next year who knows

Dan · 10/05/2019 at 11:44

Struggling to know who to bring in.
I have traded Collins -> Answerth.

But, am needing to choose between:
Libba -> Macrae/Bont
Petrucelli -> Daniel

Any thoughts?

    Stacky23 · 10/05/2019 at 11:55

ive gone petrucelli to daniel as i believe libba and daniel will net you more points than petrucelle and macrae/bont

    MAD MIKE · 10/05/2019 at 14:21

    PETROL TO DANIEL

    Dan · 10/05/2019 at 14:38

Thanks, that's a great help! I am now leaning towards Petrucelli -> Daniel :).
The only thing is if I make this trade it means I won't have enough in the bank to do an upgrade next week (whereas I would if I traded Libba out).
    Do you think that's okay?

MAD MIKE · 10/05/2019 at 13:32

CRAZY OR GENIUS???

OUT ROZEE AND WILEM DREW

IN WESTHOFF AND DARLING

HIGH RISK, BUT SICK OF DOING THE MAINSTREAM MOVES THE REST OF THE PEANUT GALLERY DOES. THOUGHTS COMMUNITY???

    Sana · 10/05/2019 at 15:31

Its cray Mike. Go on then.

      MAD MIKE · 10/05/2019 at 15:34

      DONE. RUNNING THE GAUNTLET ๐Ÿ˜‰

        Sana · 10/05/2019 at 15:54

Who knows? They might kick 10 goals each!

    Derek · 10/05/2019 at 16:58

i don't mind the Hoff. he was in my plans at the start, needed ruck cover and Lycett was risky and Hoff was expensive so thought i'd wait for Hoff to get cheaper, and he has. But in the meantime i've had ROB giving me ruck cover, but he will eventually get culled, so i'm thinking Hoff might be ok.

as for darling, he can not play in the rain. If its raining make sure he is on your bench.

    Russty_ · 10/05/2019 at 17:56

If you're gonna get Darling, may as well get T-Mac too…just kidding, I wouldn't get either.
Got Westhoff last week, happy with that so far.

Adrian Long · 10/05/2019 at 13:58

Gibbons -> Answerth
Petrucelle -> Marshall for me this week

Not many rookies I would like to downgrade to this week and I figure Marshall will be a good F5/6.
Plus don't have enough $$ to get to Daniel/Kelly at this stage.

Fearthebeard · 10/05/2019 at 15:09

Daniels or Mundy? Or neither?

YNWA · 10/05/2019 at 15:47

Clark and Petru out for Boak and Hurn? 23k left after using the war chest

    Fearthebeard · 10/05/2019 at 16:11

    Huge yes from
    Me

    Derek · 10/05/2019 at 16:54

thats what the war chest is there for.

Zak · 10/05/2019 at 23:35

Hi this is my 1st year for AFL SuperCoach can someone tell me will the omitted players play again or are they out of the team???

    Bob · 11/05/2019 at 05:58

They don't play /score this week. If picked by their clubs next weekend they will score points then

silversovereign · 11/05/2019 at 10:39

Anyone know what menegola’s role is this year? Thinking about upgrading petrol to him. He was the top forward in the competition a few year’s back averaging about 100. Cost of upgrade is about $150k. Menegola is averaging 82 but if can lift that to 90-95 I think it’s worth it. He seems to be playing a mr fix it role this year though and has pumped out a couple of 50s. Thoughts?
