PODCAST | Heeney Meeney Tiny (Pre)mo
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
It’s Fix-It Week! Round three – the week before price changes, of rookies jumping and premiums dropping. Using the fabled Patchlov’s Hierarchy of Needs, Damo, Lek and Patch discuss what needs to be done this week – namely: GET YOUR ROOKIES RIGHT.
However, we’ve left which rookies are right and which are wrong to the genius of Statty Matty’s cheat sheet this week, so keep your eyes peeled for that bad boy.
If you’ve got them right, which you would have because you’re all brilliant at Supercoach, then you can think about trading premiums. But which premiums? Heeney, Dunkley, Mundy, Dusty, a sleeveless Kade Simpson – who’s worth chopping? And on the flipside, who’s worth brining in?
Tom Rockliff has lit the Supercoach world on fire for 2019, while Darcy Moore, Tom Liberatore, Dom Sheed and several other mid-pricers have all been more than serviceable. The trio discuss whether to flick an underperforming premo for a speculative pick.
Lekdog also shouts about Daniel Rich.
So, community – strap on the headphones, settle down with a nice cuppa and some chocolate and tune in before letting us know what your moves are! Who are you flicking, and who are you trading in?
dusty to rockliff and balta to moore? or
de goey to t.kelly
You picked De-Floggy for a reason, he kicked 5 goals last week…maybe give him another chance?
thats what worries me- kicked 5 was borderline best on and still only scored 87 points
Spot on oj, he's an overated egomaniac who is basically SC irrelevant. The only people who disagree are pies fans and fools who started him
not what i said at all, he's an absolute gun (not a pies fan), but yes maybe I am a fool for starting him
DeG to Kelly.. do it..
Keen listeners will note we skipped over discussion of Billings in this pod, namely because we forgot. I don't know what to do with him – his numbers have been nearly exactly what I was hoping for, but he's thrown up two 80s from 25+ touches. What gives? Pls gib points, Jack.
Don't reckon someone scoring 80's for you each week will hurt your team too much Patchy Mc-Patchface.
He's in StKilda, so that means all their D/E is crappily.
Alternatively, you could go to Dahlhaus, Daniel or Worpinator 3000 as a sidewaysy.
I've got the cash to go up so I'd rather do that, Russty, but I'm just annoyed that he can't get his DE up. He's playing the perfect role but just isn't scoring and it's frustrating
He DE has been great actually
Heeney and Setterfield to rocky and McCarthy. Is it worth doing
McCarthy has spent most of is adult Footy life on the injury list.
Probably not. As we mentioned, bringing mid-pricers in is not ideal considering you need to use a trade bringing them in and another trade removing them. I'd pass on those trades.
Why would you dump Setterfield? His score was low because he was given a tagging role in the 2nd half on Rockliff.. he was scoring ok up to that point … he kept Rockliff to 26 pts in the 2nd half..
I’d be questioning how is Rockliff gonna go with Wines back this week and a likely tag from the get go this week and next week and the week after that..
Hi Community, its good to be back posting.
I have Heeney and Robinson slightly underperforming in my forward line. I liked Robinson as i thought his mongrel around the contest would be needed by the Lions, alas the lions are now good at football, and dont need him bashing people.
Luckly i have nailed the rookies though. Options i am considering are
1. Heeney & Robinson out – Kelly and Whitfield in (via DPP) (projected to bring in 80 extra ponts)
2 .One of them out and either one in
3. Nothing, Let the rookies fatten up and get them both later
Any advice would be appriciated
I'm holding Heeney but I'd move on Robinson, you can afford the trade if you've nailed the rookies Bear.
Thanks. Robinson to Kelly
Geez lekdog…Daniel rich looks the goods so far
Maybe this is the year he does a Shaun Higgins and actually spends a whole season being quite good at football?
Nah, not gonna happen….
DON'T ENCOURAGE HIM? First Damo, now you Ken??? What is the world coming to?
Midfield rookie issues! I have missed Constable. My midfield rookies are Walsh, Scott, Butters, Atkins and Gibbons. Is it worth the trade to get Constable in or has that ship sailed.
The logic says all my rookies will continue to make money… just not as fast as Constable… so don't waste the trade… but if Constable keeps scoring the way he is….
I missed him too MP and I think we have to get him.
Check out Footywire for future price predictions, I think he's worth it.
I'll wait for the teams to drop but at the moment I'm ditching Scott.
Atkins or Gibbons could go too, not much in it.
I wouldn't be ditching Scott. He had gastro before the game on Sunday and is a better prospect than Atkins or Gibbons IMO
My reasoning was that Gibbons has done ok without actually kicking goals, if he can snag a few his price will jump quickly.
And Atkins is 23yrs old where as Scott is 18, not many 18yr olds come straight in and play a lot of games in a row, they often get dropped or get injured.
Not much in it admittedly and time may prove me wrong but I'm going Scott – Constable.
Constable is looking like this year's version of Tim Kelly. Going to make you money very fast, and could only be a 100K upgrade to a premium in 6-8 weeks, or hold him till his bye and then trade to an uber premium
I reckon Constable is one to have… I'd be tempted to go Walsh down to him? Maybe? It's a tough one. Otherwise probably flick Gibbons
Here We go 1st Trades
Please pick the two numbers u feel I should do.
1. Mundy. To Kelly
2. Heeney keep
3. Heeney to Boak
4. Heeney to Worpel
I’d prioritise Mundy and go 1. If he shows signs of being top 6 you can buy him back much cheaper later on
Hi, I have the same problem but have gone Mundy to J Lloyd (Def) via Moore and am keeping Heeney. I think I would be wasting a trade bringing Heeney back into the team. Dalhaus/Worpel might be alternatives to the Mundy to Lloyd trade?
1 & 2
I'm considering Heeney to Worpel, so I can upgrade Goldy to Grundy
1 and 2 .
1
Not worried about henneys cash loss? If you're thinking that much about trading him I'd do it this week
It depends who you trade to. If your target player is also going to drop in value, waiting a week will only cost you the net difference.
Heeney will be top 6 forward, so his price drop is irrelevant.
I didn't realise libba is only 26. Looked very good on the weekend, always around the ball and was tackling hard. Who knows, he could be staying in my team for longer than I had planned
He a good player. Like Rocky, question over the durability. Well done for starting him but wouldn’t recommend trading him in if you didn’t.
If he stays on the park and scores 90+ , for sure
One of those guys that feels like he's been around forever
Been 5 years since he played a full season. Be ready to move any time as he's made of glass.
Concur. He's only in calculation due to cheap price, which ironically is because of injuries. Swings and roundabouts.
Mills to Rich?
YES…if you have no other issues
Only other issue, is I have green on the bench now, and heeney is giving me the shits. Played with trading him to lycett.. Which leaves me 100k in the bank, or green to someone..
Looking at
1. swapping Heeney to the midfield trading him to Davies-Uniacke
2. Trading balta to either lycett/westhoff to utilise the ruck/FWD role with B.williams… or just getting a solid fwd like kelly/dalehouse
Thoughts?
A few f bombs dropped yet again, and im kool with that, but dont delete my posts if i do!!!
If the spam filters pick it up I can't help it Hawk!
I dont use the f word but you havent minded dropping a few of late hahahaha, getting emotional?, lol
We've had a sternly worded meeting in the boardroom about it, Hawk.
Hahahahahahaha, Nice one Patch, im all for it lol,,,,keep up the good work boys,,,,,
But you can enable the post to be released.
I'll try and greenlight you regular guys, not sure why filter is picking stuff up
Filter? You mean you guys don't personally monitor these posts for our nuggets of enlightened SC wisdom (and questions)? 😛
You have no idea how much I wish we could, Derm.
I'll note that no sponsors makes me a bit more comfortable with the language haha
Youre a bloody hooligan Lek, clean up your act! hahahaha
Was originally thinking no trades, I've got nearly all the rookie selections.
Now I'm considering 2 correctives:
1 Merrett to Sloane or M Crouch
2 Heeney to Kelly
Thoughts?
Hold Heeney, consider holding Zerrett
Do it..
Why trade Merret, he scored 108 last week while being tagged?
Swapping Heeney to Worpedo and balta to grian myers.
Then have 155k left for an upgrade next week.
Thoughts
Hold Heeney
I disagree Lek, I had a look at Heeneys score for the 2018 season, and he just fell in a hole after the bye, in fact he finished the season valued at $440k! So far, this season appears to be more of the same, so I am moving on the bludger NOW, as it was a 'starry eyed wonder pick' I should have known better than to do.
I can't see him swinging back and making me 100-120s for a few weeks. Thinking davies-uniacke will make the same score and bank me a heap of coin. He's pretty much the only rookie I'm after
More looking at who to swap balta for.. leaning towards a FWD/ruck like westhoff in case gawn/Grundy go down for a week or 2
I too have Balta, but I reckon he comes in this week with Reiwoldt down. Given how bad they were at the back and the fact he played as back in the Two's and played well, I suspect he comes in and scores well. I'm keeping IF named.
Lycett smells like a trap, 69 and 167 with a swag of goals means he's way more likely to average closer to the former. AVOID
Agreed,Heeney out, he's going to bleed cash and you can pick him up later much cheaper if he starts to come good
He got injured last year
Well he’s injured again, so newsflash time to get rid of him. His output has never justified the price tag he carries.
yeah and he didnt score well
Good move. I think Heaney is did. Oh wait. He scored 130 odd
I was going to trade Heeney to Worpel so I could upgrade Goldy to Grundy, but Lekdog, you talked me out of it..so I sacrificed Dunkley instead to Worpel so I could upgrade Goldy to Grundy…did I do right, Lekdog? Or shouuld I reverse them and hold off until my rookies make me enough $$ to upgrade Goldy to Grundy? (I'm in league only)
If Balta gets named then I would hold on that trade. Given he can play fwd and back for the Tigers I suspect that he will play and score around 60 odd which is pretty much the same as Miers.
Agree with Spiff.
I reckon Balta plays this week and will get an extended run at it. He will make cash.
No point to these trades, a downgrade and a sideways rookie trade. More reasonable if you’re upgrading to a D Moore but only then if Heeney is out this week
The only upgrade option I have to get Rocky in is:
Walsh -> Rockliff
No midfield premo’s that need downgrading…
Thoughts?
(Logic: At $207k, I would’ve hoped for a bit more from Walsh.. getting the same output from Constable at 90k cheaper)
Tough one, if you've got the cash I'd consider it…if Rocky keeps scoring well he'll make the same cash as Walsh…of course your using a trade which is probably worth about 150k+…so you're trading for points. Is Rocky going to be a keeper?
I'd see Rocky as more of a keeper than Walsh at this point… at absolute worst, Rocky could always be considered as an M9 post byes if he decides to not pig it up and lacks consistency…
My options were:
1. Trade out: Heeney and Atkins
Trade in: Rocky and Darcy Moore (fwd)
Hold Toby Greene
or
2. Trade out: Toby Greene and Walsh
Trade in: Rocky and Miers (already have Parker & Drew)
Hold: Heeney
I've got arthritis in my finger already from hitting the reverse trade button, but thinking I'll hold Heeney…
Yes = underperforming
Yes = injury cloud
Top 6 Fwd at end of season? = Probably.
Once Sydney start getting wins on the board (and it's only a matter of time), Heeney will come good and be part of that.
Rocky a keeper? that means you think he is top 8 (maybe top 10) midfielders? big call.
i would hold. Walsh price will go up same rate as Rocky. Get to see Rocky for a couple more weeks, maybe get the Hutchings tag round 5?.
In a couple of weeks, he will be same price as MCrouch, Bont, Sloane, Dusty, Merrett, players who are more likely to be Top 8 players and you will have for info on them all.
don't need to worry about possible M9 players this early, get 'em as keepers at a good price.
find someone else to trade out.
Walsh is predicted to increase $48k this week and $39k the next week.
Rocky predicted to increase $51k this week and $24k the following week.
If only it was that easy Derek…
Apart from option 1 (above), there are no other rookies I can use to get me across the line to get Rocky.
Even Butters would leave me a couple of grand short.
what i'm saying, it won't matter mush cash ways if you do the trade this week, next week or the week after. The nett difference will stay the same. Gives you a week or two to think about Rocky, especially if Wines come back this week or next.
let the cash cows fatten. Have a look at Rocky and decide if he is really a keeper.
Derek what suggests rocky will not be a keeper? His hard tag I’m not worried about as I don’t think many teams view him as the most damaging and plus he can now prepare for a tag and not cop one halfway through a game not expecting it? I think he can definitely be a keeper
I’d be watching Rockliff for a little longer .. Setterfielf shut him down in the 2nd half on the weekend.. he only scored 26 pts after half time.. it got Carlton back in the game .. if you think other coaches will ignore that .. then proceed..
I was wondering what happened. He didn’t look like touching it in the 4th quarter
Tag is back
I don't think it helped Carlton, they were level before the tag. I think it's a silly idea to tag in heavy rain also. heavy rain is a great leveller need bodies fighting for the ball in heavy rain. It could have been that rain too that slowed Rocky. IMO sorry to disagree hope you wont hate me :D.
We love you BB.. your point of view is valid.. though need to point out that Carlton was 3 goals down at half in a low scoring game and clearly won the 3rd quarter 4 goals to 1 .. in the rain as you point out…
Were they? God I watched the whole game, my memory must be shot (I am getting old I suppose and was being interrupted by the old girl a bit), I thought they were level at the half. I should look it up but looking up Carlton stats goes against the grain as a Bombers fan and I trust you. Anyway I still think it's a waste of time tagging in rain because of the reasons I mentioned earlier, although less so now after you cruelly shooting me down lol ;P
What’s everyone’s thoughts on yo-yo. Trade or not to trade? He’s had clanger of a week (10) and last week too (8) which affected his score.
I'd hold, Mikey
I'm holding
He started slow last year, keep him, he'll come good
Having done 2 trades today with rookies that price will not be bumping, swapping Balta for myers and Hore for Wilkie.
But still having 2 rookies watson and fort which are both donuts, next week do i have to make sure to swap them for players that are going to have their price going up even more even though they are rookies?
If Balta gets named then hold him.
Hore should come in for May and Balta likely to come in as well.
If hore doesn't get a game im thinking
Heeney to Worpel
&
Hore to Moore
Thoughts?
Concur
There hasn't been much discussion around Rozee – is he worth bringing in if I have all the main rookie backs (Clark, Scrimshaw, Duursma) with Joyce and Hore on the bench?
not really. Looks a nice player, but the extra price doesn't justify getting him now.
Even as a downgrade, i can't see him being worth the trade.
Will be touched on by Statty Matty this week, Shano. Keep your eyes peeled
Tim Kelly in 16% of teams. that seems low to me
Cats bye round with Danger most likely reason
ELLIOT YEO
When I spend 580k on a midfielder I expect more then a 76 average from him and with a BE of 189 do I get rid of him or what ?
unless they are injured, Hold your premiums. don't worry about the cash loss.
I know there there is the need to rage trade, but that is what the Reverse Trade button is for.
It is frustrating watching Fyfe, Neale, LLoyd, Whitfield, Sloane, Bont, and many others who we had at some point in our preseason teams killing it. but as Crouching says, chase points you will get exhausted.
Just look at Oliver. 71 first week, 141 second week. Grundy 81 then 137.
Preach it, Derek. Gosh you're a good egg
I am trading Yeo to Fyfe this week… Sheed is has the same role and Gaff is back this week.. . if Yeo starts to perform then I can always bring him back after the bye.. but I doubt he will be Top 8 this year.. move him on now before he loses value.. holding dud premos is not wise .. once a premo not always a premo
Hi, I would be tempted to trade Yeo as I think there are better options in midfield (I don’t think Yeo will be a top 10 mid this year). I don’t know your team but I would consider a switch to any of Bontempelli, Pendlebury, J Selwood around the same price or (if you have any cash) Neale, Fife or Treloar. Good luck
i know it is only 2 weeks into the season, but one thing stands out to me already;
The more things change, the more they stay the same (i think that is a wise old saying)
Looking at who is on top of the averages, even after only two rounds:
Defenders: Lloyd
Midfielders: Fyfe
Rucks: Grundy
Forwards: Dangerfield
I don't think anyone will have Lycett as a Ruck come year end. I am classifying him as a forward.
You didnt start Danger John??
Sorry mate, my bad, i noticed teams that had him in the midfield, crazy shit
3 out of 4 aint bad.
Went the top mid price who isnt too far behind fyfe.
the forward line is the most unpredictable this year.
after danger its crazy.
Agree Derek. Think that we expect top 3 Fwds to avg 100+ and 7 others in the 90+ range This year. Not a lot of players I see in the fwd line avg high 90's and the valuable 100+
I did notice THawkins not doing much wrong and sitting on a lazy 101 ave.
Loved how he gave Clarke a goal last week
With the chaos of the forward line, I’d hang onto some cash and get some of the big boys when they do the Buffalo Bounce.
Lycett will average way closer to his round 1 score of 69, than his 167 in round 2. I doubt he will be keeper anywhere.
Any ruck against Carlton could get 160 this year
My Monday morning rage trade was Mundy to Lycett. I already have Kelly.
Lycett did only play Carlton and with the Hoff having a poor game, his price will drop the next couple of weeks, thinking of getting a rookie and banking cash
Got all 4 mate. I got lucky and grabbed all the 'must have" rookies. Enabled me to get Lloyd tonight.
Simpson to Llyod
Dusty to Neale or Fyfe
That's 60pts gained per week easy
Neale (although I started with both)
JR SURVIVOR GROUPS
the following teams went into week one with the immunity necklace:
Div 1 – The Green Shoots
Div 2 – Ya Hate to see it
Div 3 – Borisbumblebees
Div 4 – Astroboys
Div 5 – Jaeger O'Kneera
As per the rules of the competition, the two lowest weekly scores from each division are eliminated each week, unless you have immunity.
This weeks Eliminated teams are:
Div 1 – Doc's Destroyers & I Turn Now
The Green Shoots needed to use their immunity this week.
Div 2 – Black Flag & Boodetime
Div 3 – Benny's Bangers & Harkaway Pies FC
Div 4 – Uncle Chop Chop & The Bye
Astroboys needed to use their immunity this week
Div 5 – CarltonGiants & Shiel be right
there were some very close calls for some teams. Every division the difference between elimination and safety was less than 3 points, in two of the divisions the team with the third lowest was eliminated because of immunity rules.
I will be removing the above teams from each division this afternoon
This weeks top scorers all have immunity this week, and as you saw from last week, this can be vital.
Div 1 – RupertsRaiders
Div 2 – TheBenoFactorst
Div 3 – Hart-attack
Div 4 – PottersFC
Div 5 – Destrawyers
Shout out to Hart-attack (Div 3) who scored a very impressive 2493 last week.
Good luck everyone
Just for information, the following scores WERE eliminated this week,
Div 1: 2096
Div 2: 2072
Div 3: 2026
Div 4: 2108
Div 5: 2028
as you can see, competitive divisions
Nice Hart-attack, massive,
Cheers lads
Been trying to keep a lid on it and not brag to be honest lol
Was good enough for 2nd for the week and $500 cold hard cash
Lycett at f3 = lucky as f lol was looking like a corrective trade last week
Cant believe i survived,
Pretty happy with my team so far. Only two problems are Heeney and Billings. Wish I held my nerve and started Boak instead of Billings .
1. Do I trade Billings to Boak and Heeney to a Kelly?
2. Do one of these?
3. Hold my trades?
Leaning towards 3 and hoping I can pick up the points with good trades later on.
Can you go Billing’s to Kelly?
Not quite, I traded Collins to Scrimshaw before lockout after I saw Billings and Boaks games in round 1 leaving me with $44k at the moment
Tom Stewart needs to be mentioned
Let's not.
I like the low ownership
I did mention him but Lek decided a five minute discussion on Daniel Rich was more viable. Very good POD selection, but will likely have quiet weeks here and there.
Tom Stewart 🙂
Dusty to Sheed or Rockliff?
Total trade benefit is about $200k+ (Including projected price rises and drops) and i'm currently leaning towards Sheed.
Gaff could impact Sheeds scores and likewise with Wines and Rocky.
Need some advice!
Dusty should still outscore both
That's a big call on Dusty.
Last year he scored 91 & under x8 times and over 130 x5 times only.
This year he is even worse and with Jack down he will play fwd more.
I disagree. Rocky will score more unless his shoulder carks it
They are all in the 100 to 105 range I would think.
I plan to hold him to byes, see how trades and injury’s are going and luxury upgrade if needed.
Don’t think I can afford a luxury sideways trade so early.
Now Mundy to Rocky is an upgrade. Might consider that.
Dusty has to go mate not hungry enough and his time fwd will increase I’m all about holding premos but when you have the right rookies use what you would’ve used to correct premos… dusty not making a tackle in 2 games of football is not just worrying it’s get him out now and rocky will average more don’t forget what he’s capable of
Do I trade Yeo ?
No, he started slow last year too
Mundy to Kelly?
Trade or hold yeo?
Mundy to darcy moore and have cash to spend?
Kelly
Use a trade for a keeper
Then won't have to trade again if Moore ends up being a stepping stone because he does not avg 90+ as a F6
Greene to miss 1 more week
Thoughts on Heeney-Lloyd and Walsh-Miers?
Seems like Miers might make similar cash to Walsh while opportunity to grab Lloyd.
Trading out Walsh now is wasting a trade.
I reckon im one of the lucky few who nailed all my rooks and besides heeney (who hasnt been terrible and will comfortably hold) i have no plans to make any trades. Barring any injuries theough the week this would have to be one of the first times iv not traded 3 rounds in
Check out Heeneys 2018 scoring. Note he finished the year on $440k. This year is looking pretty much exactly like last years up down ride, with down being more common. I'm dumping the squib, and kicking myself for believing the hype.
http://tooserious.net/forum/player_calc.php?id=24…
nice start mate
In some ways mate. Score of 1988 r1 and 2306 r2 exact same field including C. Lucky on the trades front but r1 hit me for a 6 scores and ranking wise
Thinking I have to now, with Greene missing his second week with calf soreness, who knows how long that drags on for.
martin to rockliff?
I think Martin will be as good as Rocky this year.
So just trading for the cash.
Is $150k worth a trade?
Anyone worried about Laird? Brodie Smith and Milera looking to be taking some of his touches.
I think he got tagged last week (by Hewitt) and worked his way through it alright. I think Smith & Milera are pushing up higher onto the wings even, so shouldn't be too much impact.
Pretty simple one really. If you have him hold, if you don't wait for your cows to appreciate and then get him. Top6 defender almost certain
if You got him you do nothing.
He was tagged on weekend that won’t happen every week.
He is top 6 defender. You hold
Thoughts on Goldy to Gawn?
I know both will lose value this week, but it looks like Goldy tends to struggle against the Hawks and Gawn scored 168 the last time he played the Bombers.
So, I'm wondering if this is the week to do it?
I'm dumping him if Campbell is named again. Only wanted him if solo ruck and that doesn't look the case now. Might roll the dice on Lycett and swing him forward later in the year.
Definitely, I think Goldy's only worth having if he's solo in the ruck.
I'm downgrading Heeney to Worpel so I can upgrade Goldy to Grundy this week. Good Luck.
Dusty's gotta go. It must be for a definite premium I think so that rules out Sheed & Rockliff and leaves me with Neale or Fyfe.
Annoyingly I'm $3,300 short on Neale so should I:
1.Trade Burgess to Parker also to make the coin.
2.Trade Heeney to Kelly to make coin.
3. Trade Dunkley to Kelly to make coin.
4. Don't get Neale, get Sheed/Rockliff instead
Personally Heeney is a must go for me, so option 2.
Option 1 for me.
Option one! Parker looks to be a must have rookie . Looks like he will make us some good $$$ with solid JS as a bonus
After his game this week, Shuey will get the attention. Hopefully Yeo off the chain. He looks in good nick. A few frees against going the other way will make a big difference to his scoring.
It’s a very popular question whether to keep or trade dusty. He has obviously looked not quite right but thinking he may have to lift with the tigs leaders out.
Rocky is one that many are doing and banking that 150k is enticing, but will we have to trade rocky somewhere down the line? I think so. I would only have 591k to spend so these are my options: (already got Crouch)
Bont, brayshaw, Sloane, pendles
The first 3 on there would means I’d be doubling up on 1 team through he mids.
Thoughts would be great community!
I'm backing Rocky for a 105-110 average this season, and as such he will be fit for m8 come seasons end. Of course, his shoulder could explode next round and i'd be left looking like an idiot put you've gotta take risks in order to succeed
Of all the midpricers Rocky has to be the closest to a keeper AB. Williams ,Smith and Libba some chance.Going to take a further 20 trades for me to get to full prem,so one of these at sub 400k would benefit no end
Pendles for sure, has a solid record at the G and i believe he has another few games in a row there.
So would you do Dusty to rocky Neil?
I’m a tigers supporter and to be honest, I would trade him. For whatever reason, be it mind or body or both, he’s not the player of 2017. I watched him play all that year and my wife who barracks for collingwood came to the finals with me , was in awe of him. He really played unbelievably great footy. He still will have some great games but not consistently and I expect he’ll be around the same average as last year in Supercoach, maybe up to 105 at best I think. As much as I love him I picked crouch instead. My 2 bobs worth, cheers.
Heeney will undoubtedly come good, and will be top 6 at seasons end. Trading him out now and then back in later is a waste of a trade and as such i will not be doing it. Im happy to receive a couple of dud scores in the first 4 round and save a trade, however i play for league wins and not rank so maybe this doctrine wont apply to everyone
I'm confused as fark with Heeneyyyyyyyyyyyy
Didn't mean to write the f 😐 sorry
If you would like my thoughts, read above 😉
his "foot injury" concerns me…didn't Buddy have a "Foot injury" last year? What the hell is the ground at the SCG made of, Legos?!
Greene to miss a 2nd week…
unfortunately he’s an awkward price!
I’m $1,200 off affording worpel and at this point in time I look to have nailed my rookies so no need to trade one down for the $$$.
One option is heeney -> kelly
But once I do this watch Isaac burn me so not real keen on it
This may force me to hold him as much as I don’t want to . Curious to know What is everyone else going to do?
Have all the main rookies plus D Moore. Considering Greene to LDU
Ive gone Heeney to Kelly Mav, feel his ankle is restricting him and until its right he'll play majority fwd, in which case like ive said a few times is that he will bleed coin and you can get him in later at a bargain price if his ankle gets better and he starts to score better, food for thought and only my opinion, but we've seen it before, players carrying niggles and dont know about it and wonder why they had a shit season, but with Heeney we do know, did it in jlt, went back on and then came off again, not good for me,,
Gday john,
I will have to run with setters, Parker & drew so decent enough cover I have Moore’s DPP but that means I’d still field the extra rook it’d just down back if I swing Moore fwd.
Yeah I know what you mean hawk.. Would love to know the extent of heeneys injury…
I have three real options;
1. Heeney -> kelly Greene -> worpel
2. Greene -> scrimshaw via Moore DPP
3. Hold trades and play the 3 rooks I mentioned above
Mav, i think Greene is a waste, thats why i didnt start him, because of this crap and the suspensions, just not worth it to me at all, The Heeney call is a gut call for me which could go either way, Kelly looks like top 8 Fwd to me, and i think Scrimshaws js is locked in atm, Option 1 or 2 for me mate
Scrimshaw looks good. Very good. Had a nervous first game but he looks a solid player. Good size, can play tall and has a good kick. Might be your trade and bank the cash.
If I had Greene, I’d trade down to a cheap rookie you don’t have or correctional to Libba. (Hopefully you have Drew or Setterfield in midfield)
Got libba already Derek. Unfortunately drew & setters both forward.
Thanks guys you all sound pretty happy with scrimshaw an I was too but to have yas conform it is good. I think I’ll definitely go Greene -> scrimshaw.
Heeney to kelly will be a call later in the week.
The bank from the first alone will be nice.
Actually I think I have to also consider rozee instead of scrimshaw Got the DPP to swing if need be and has looked very good for port Adelaide so far..
Thoughts? Both break evens are -45ish
For some reason im not a fan of Rozee, not personal, just dont think he has enough scoring potential to make enough coin to warrant the pick, jmo
He looks to be scoring greater than scrim though and surely has as good if not better JS than scrimshaw…
Rozee is going to be a very good player
He has started well because Port has won a couple of games.
Scrimshaw will be more consistent and is a fair bit cheaper so you can upgrade him a week or two earlier than Rozee
Yeah it’s going to be a tough call to split the two johnD. No doubt I’ll be burnt by which ever I don’t decide haha
I'm ripping the band aid off quick with Greene Mav..he's gone for Scrimshaw, still tossing up whether or not to get rid of a second one in my fwd line this week too.
Yeah Greene is 110% gone russty it’s round 3 and he will have missed 2 games. It’s definitely Greene to either rozee or scrimshaw for me. Both look to be good picks but can’t say I’ve watched either much
I lost my fwd def swing doing it but I don't mind cause I saved 40k getting Scrimshaw over Rozee, can get the swing back again when I trade my next fwd in.
Haven't seen all that much of them either Mav, but their stats and JS are pretty good.
I also lost my def fwd swing getting LDU in for Greene but won't be losing sleep over that!
Hello Alex Sexton?
been super lucky with the rookies so I dont need to trade if I dont want to.
But thinking about Dunkley to Tim Kelly. Bit of a luxury trade but feel Tim Kelly will finish higher by years end.
Is this wise guys?
Also, I'm holding Heeney.
I'd trade Heeney before Dunkley.
Kelly is looking like a top 6 forward, so you need to get him at some stage, might as well be now.
But what if Heeney and/or Dunkley are also top 6 forwards? Remember Menagola from last year
What about Menagola from this year damn it!!!
Hahahahahahaha
I have Heeney, Menegola and Dunkley.
*head hits desk*
I have Heeney @F3 and I will persist with him but for whatever reason those that might be looking at moving on the likes of Martin MID AVG 87.5 $563,800 , Smith DPP AVG 77.5 $531,300 , Heeney DPP AVG 76 $529,200 Is Brad Hill MID AVG 120.5 $426,700 a possible downgrade option from one of these to generate some quick cash? He is definitely a POD only in 632 teams and a projected change of + $41.2k Although its most likely that a MID/FWD swing option is the only possibility to do this for most.
Similar case to rocky. You’d only be trading him in if you think he’ll be top 8 or 9 mids come years end not as a cash cow
I thought he might be an option at least for the next 4-5 weeks as a steppingstone and a bit of cash gen, Definitely not a keeper come seasons end. Blakey not due back for a while so Hill could continue on with his 120 AVG at least until then.
I think Blakey is still 2 months away, he should be good until then.
At the moment the top 6 forwards is anyone’s guess. I suggest holding off making crazy decisions until more info avaliable
Should Only be dealing with injuries, rookies and Mundies this week, in that order.
Yeah very true, just thought I’d throw it out there..
Blakley listed as 3 weeks away, one to watch closely.
Hiilys not a consistent scorer, i wouldnt be wasting that trade Beno, def wont be top 10 mid
Hi
Slim pickings on the draft waiver wire. Is Oscar mcierney worth a look? Don’t know anything about him. Flukey scores or potentially able to keep averaging 80ish?
Ah the week of corrective trading.
I too am facing the Heeney dilemma. I also have Dunkley, mainly because he is a tackling machine and I was hoping Bevo would let him spend more time in the midfield.
So I am think Heeney to Kelly and Dunkley to Boak, leaving 28 trades and $158k left.
Thoughts?
I’d keep Dunkley, he attended a lot centre bounces last week, just didn’t have a great game. Heeney on the other hand……
Hey Rocksta, the point is when will that be? will it be soon or ongoing ????
Ponder me this :
I don't get why people would be bringing in mid-pricers that are not keepers. Fair enough if you started with one ..
But why would you downgrade a Heeney to bring in Moore who is currently sitting at #35 of the best FWDs (and DEFs) and highly unlikely to be Top 10 FWD or DEF. Cash generation is better with the rookies .. so that is not an argument.
If the objective is to generate cash to upgrade another .. that's two trades …
Surely if you must trade Heeney you upgrade him (not many options there) or replace him with another premo like Kelly or Gunston. et el
(I don't have Heeney btw, not yet)
Yes Lazza i ponder the mid price option but its a backwards move unles the midpricer was averaging 90+ i dont see the point, so went Kelly, could still change to Gunner as a pod, chopping and changing with that one, also have Lynch who i did change down to Worpel as his av is 101, but could easily have both Kelly and gunner as i have the coin? decisions decisions,,,,,,
There are only two types of players.
Keepers and cash generators.
I see why people start with mid pricers, usually because of the lack of or unknown JS of rookies, but usually because of cognitive bias and the hope of them being a nearly keeper. Plus rookies on field are scary, Scott a perfect example.
Non keepers need to make $200-$300k and you need at least 10 to 15 of them.
I haven't heard anyone mention Rowan Marshall as a forward option yet. But he looks like St Kilda's best ruckman (granted not a hard achievement) and scored 112 points against Spudchambers on the weekend vs the TB4s. Not sure why he missed round 1, suspect it must have been a niggle picked up in JLT2 where he also scored a 112. I'm tipping no-one has noticed him but any money if he tonnes up again this weekend he'll become like Drake (absolutely shit music but everyone loves him).
Nice Drake analogy. Very true.
I noticed him but when Longer gets back he might have first dibs on the Ruck spot, which means Marshall stays fwd and pinch hits, could get stuck with a lowly scoring fwd there, I agree though I think he's much better than Pierce and Longer in the Ruck.
got him in my drafts Russty Been blowing to GATOR about him for ages .Big J L T score as well. Reckon he is better than Longer and Pierce
I think he got injured in weekend
Went back on Derek only a fwd in s/c
Lynch>Worpel or Gunner?? Thoughts guys?? Lynch is going to drop coin and will be average at best without Riewoldt out, and hes not 100% himself, have to get these correctives done now so i can settle down for a few weeks, cheers boys,,
Cheers John, More mid time for Worp and saves cash and he will generate cash too,,
I had Gunner in my FWD line last year, but I'd go Worpel this time around due to his Midfield time and his current form
VC options Danger Oliver Gawn Or Cripps?? Into Macrae Capt.
Oliver Shake but Grundy and Danger both good
have to loop with Bines Neil. So can make Grundy capt but not vc
my bad forgot they play each other
Danger into Macrae seems a no brainer this round Shake.
It’s Tuesday… my team as it stands has Danger into Oliver…
I'm going Danger to Neale (or Fyfe)
