  1. BoltonsBlues says:

Every year i get sucked into "traps" this year, bloody Dustin Martin, what an over rated, 1 season wonder

    • COREYSC says:

Agreed, luckily this year I didn’t fall for the hype

    • Lazza says:

But what a season that was … probably never to be repeated…
looks like my two correctives this week will be Martin and Yeo.. to Fyfe and …. don’t know who yet..

      • kinglear009 says:

Yeo still looks good – got tagged by one of the best and 7 frees against, I repeat, 7. More likely to have been a once off than Dustin 'what's a tackle' Martin

      • Streaker says:

Neale if you can or M Crouch or Sloanedog Millionaire

    • Russty_ says:

I went off Dusty when I heard about his mental health battles he's been having.

      • Derek says:

I thought, great he is over them. Maybe he isn’t

He did get a close tag and Richmond got killed

Won’t be getting rid of him yet

      • Streaker says:

DRUGS? So over this mental health bullshit. It's a slap in the face who really have mental health issues. The AFL is oiss weak.

  2. Clarkeyy23 says:

How good is Oliver & Gawn 😍

  3. Justin says:

Hoping for a 100 point second half from Coniglio!

  4. Daniel Beales says:

Think theres a lot of people under estimating how good Geelong are going to be this year. Towled up Collingwood and now Melbourne, and they steam rolled the last 5 games of last season.
Time to be checking out: Tom Stewart, Tim Kelly and Luke Dalhaus

    • COREYSC says:

      I agree but I’m a Geelong supporter;)

    • Russty_ says:

Yeah Stewart said before the season started he's looking forward to his best year so far, and Dahl seems to be fitting in really well at the Cats and is re-invigorated, Kelly's just a gun and getting better, Cats could be serious contenders this year. Great rookies too.

      • Patch says:

Post MaSlaone did pop in to tell us he'd be an excellent pick… he wasn't even on my radar

        • Russty_ says:

I think he's an excellent pick, but will wait to see how Touhy gets back affects him, if he gets back.

    • AuroraBorealis?! says:

Wouldn't say they "toweled" up Collingwood, they took part in a very close contest and just got the win in the final moment. Either team could've taken the 4 points then

    • Lazza says:

One unbelievable stat … Melbourne won the FWD 50 entries 72 to 48 and lose by 14 goals … that’s one helluva back line performance..

      • Derek says:

Cats do that. They win games they shouldn’t

Imagine what they would do with a decent Ruck

Kelly is now a must have.

        Touhy will effect Stewart’s scoring

    • Dave2008 says:

Pies lost it. Towel up is 4 goals plus surely? Cats look good so far though.

  5. Rocksta_ says:

The Guns are back in force this week: Grundy, Gawn, Oliver, Danger

  6. Tommo09 says:

Had Danger as VC but I did not realise this wouldn’t allow me to use his VC score with Grundy and Gawn already playing. Big mistake. Oh well let’s hope Fyfe dominates

  7. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Very tempted to trade hanley to Ballard, Thoughts?

    • kinglear009 says:

At that price point, consistency looks like Moore and risk is everywhere so good luck, Ballard had the best final quarter I've seen in a while but not sure that translates to SC points

  8. Simon says:

Should you get rid of heeney? Not really in form and looks to be mainly forward with not much mid time

    • Tbag86 says:

I’m seriously considering it Simon. I have no doubt he’ll come good eventually and could be worth holding from that regard.. but I think it’s worth capitalising on the cheap mid pricers who are going to go up a crap load in value and produce better output while Heeney falls in price.

      For that reason, I’m considering:
      Heeney -> Darcy Moore
Mid rookie -> Rockliff or Sheed

Some might say it’s burning trades but even if Rocky or Sheed taper off in form – makes good bench cover later in the season!

      • Emma says:

I would hold Henney he is in 50 per cent of teams and is a forward I still think he will be a top 6 forward.

      • Derek says:

Rocky and Sheed are unlikely to be top 8, too early to be thinking about bench cover.

Wines and Gaff will effect their scores, not sure how much.

Heeney is a gun and will come good, but if you are trading him, just get Kelly

      • dashiz says:

I'm giving serious thought to going Heeney to Boak to save 51K also Heeny expected to drop 30K in value after round 3, Boak set to increase 30K so it would be a double saving.

The only worry i have is that Boak has burned me in the past and with Wines due to come back in could impact his scoring in the near future.

    • TommyC99 says:

Horse said hes been playing through an ankle injury, which is why he hasn't been running through the guts like we would have hoped. Expect more mid time in the coming weeks, so i will be holding

    • kinglear009 says:

The reason I'll keep him is that he kicked a goal this week which was disallowed and cost him a 50 meter penalty. That's a 20 point turnaround you'd think, so his output could easily have been 85-90, which is hardly trade worthy. Yet.

      • Lazza says:

The problem with that theory is that he didn’t kick a goal.. the 50 mtr was unfortunate .. but you cannot count his non-goal it was a non reality

  9. The Bont says:

Kade Simpson has got 83 and 72. Trade or hold

    • imsobrad says:

A fellow Kade owner here, worried about newmans effect now on his scoring. I know he has always been a top 8 defender, but this year is starting to worry me with newman in the back line possibly taking points.

Starting to think maybe a corrective trade early to jake lloyd who is only slightly more than him atm might be reasonable, but i don't like sideways trading. If he ever does end up averaging even like a D6 then could consider picking him up cheaper at the end of year.

      • The Bont says:

Im leaning towards trading to Jake Lloyd considering his is only 30k extra

        • imsobrad says:

Sounds about right, Lloyd might only get more expensive if he keeps churning out those tonnes. A sneaky cash gen option would be darcy moore if not owned, but i think its safer to go with the gun.

    • Patch says:

Been sleeveless two weeks running. That's almost a justification for trading in and of itself, but we'll unpack it on the pod

      • Russty_ says:

Agree Patch, liken him to the biblical Sampson, lost his Sleeves/ Hair, lost his power, maybe he's just getting old and thinking about playing AFL on PS4

        • Tofa says:

Spot on Russty, just like Christian Slater
I'm a Port fan and was at the match, Dad beside me was disparaging our team when the Blues were getting up on us and I repeatedly reminded him to keep faith with the boys… after three quarters I'd finally had enuf and set him straight – "There is not a single sleeve on a single Carlton player, they CANNOT win!!!"

    • JohnDJ59 says:

I'm wondering the same thing Bont.

  10. Bells says:

I'm starting to think picking Ryan Clarke as a POD and a defender who was going to play mostly mid might have been a mistake.

    • DavidC says:

Yep, might get dropped after the last performance. I had him in my team at one stage, this game really does come down to a lot of luck.

  11. Sharkmove_King says:

Just to show how much luck there is in this game.
    I didn't VC Grundy (1st mistake)
I then put the VC on Crouch (2nd mistake, should have been Cripps)
I was then a bit scared off by Cripps, So I went with Danger.
Not gloating, and its only a 20 odd point gain from Grundy, just wanna show how much luck is involved in this game

    • Hawk131415 says:

Spot on Shark, what happens this week could or couldnt happen next week, i didnt vc Grundy either, wasnt happy with his form, so vc"d Cogs, mistake, but not normally, so Fyfe better go big with the C om him.,,,,

    • kinglear009 says:

Haha we did the same thing except I went for Cripps – so dependable for that 110-130 result while I thought Harmes would lock out Danger but instead he went to Kelly. Can't complain, still better than Oliver as Captain last week!

    • Derek says:

      Danger is my perma C

My VC is any of Grundy, Oliver, Gawn, Cripps who play before Danger.

I had VC cut off at 139. This week I weakened and stuck with Grundys 137. Gave away 17 points.

  12. Lazza says:

There is a late out at North.. don’t know who, but Tarryn Thomas is in..

  13. Hawk131415 says:

Thinking of putting the C on Macrae, Ross might decide to rest Fyfe a bit today playing against GC, might even pull him off early in the last,, thoughts???

  14. Derek says:

    A few things standing out:

    1) weak rucks are getting heavily scored against. Carlton, GWS, Cats and Fremantle, opposition tuck have scored very well. Lycett, Hickey, Nank, Gawn, Goldy. Might be more relevant for Draft match ups.

    2) JLT is over and teams are tagging the opponents best players. Gawn, Cogs, Dusty, Merrett, Laird, Yeo. Expect a couple of poor scores during the year from your premiums, that is why they are premiums.

    3) there is still some life in the old brigade. Jelwood, Pendlebury, JPK, Boak, Gray, Rocky. The mammoth curve is alive and happening. One of the greatest articles ever written was on the players who are nearing the end of their career and can see the extinction coming, so they steel themselves for one last crack at it. Massive PODs and great value and very durable.

    Anyone else noticing stuff?

    • AuroraBorealis?! says:

I've noticed that Bailey Scott seems to be playing in a position that always has him away from the ball. Ball on the left wing? I'll just sit on the opposite side of the ground. Oh the balls coming over to my wing now? Let me switch to the other wing. Ball spending a lot of time in the centre of the ground? Let me stand on the top of our 50 arc. Balls now in my 50? Where am i? oh that's right im somehow running off my defensive 50. Makes for an incredibly frustrating watch

      • Hawk131415 says:

Hahahahahaha, ive noticed that too, watching his bald head and thinking "get in there" he looks tired, and interested, especialy that contest just outside his defensive 50, kept backing away from the contest that was 1m in front of him!!

    • Hawk131415 says:

Great observation Derek, definitely noticed the old heads scoring well, Accept Goldy today, spudding it up

    • NoLanguage96 says:

I've noticed Goldstein is a shadow of his AA form. Crack in FFS!

  15. KSinny says:

Butters off for Scott isn't looking very good atm

  16. Maverick_ says:

i feel for anyone who went early on bailey scott this week because after today i would have passed.
I have never seen anyone so disinterested and avoid the football as much as he did all day…
i don't know what changed from last week he was a completely different player today.

  17. cash_cows says:

Well Scott on field doesnt help

  18. Pman says:

Hi All is the Supercoach coring not working at present? My phone App and website are showing nil SC points in Hawks V Dogs and the North V Lions game seems to have stopped at 3 QTR time? Any ideas what is going on?

  19. LtDraught says:

Final scores from the North vs Brisbane game on the supercoach website dont seem right

  20. NoLanguage96 says:

    How the f$&K does Neale only score 102. 43 touches at 86% – ???

  21. COREYSC says:

Champion Data have had a system overload their hoping it will be fixed soon!

  22. Hawk131415 says:

    • Hawk131415 says:

Umpire threatening to report for swearing???? games a f%$#ing joke

      • Derek says:

        I really hate Sunday’s

Hawks lose one they should have won

Mundy has no idea how to get the ball

      • Maverick_ says:

        2 words
        LIBBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! & sicily….
soft frees yes but he got hot under the collar and couldn't stay cool when the game was in the balance

        • Hawk131415 says:

Dude, he did what they were doing, how pick him out for a free??? bullshit

          • Ja191 says:

Na they try and get a reaction out of him which they achieved, he just has to keep his hands to himself

            • Hawk131415 says:

They were all doing it!! how do you pick him??? be serious!

            • kinglear009 says:

Sicily's history of foolish hotheaded acts has come back to bite him. Teams now target his rage and umpires are unlikely to be very sympathetic when he loses it.

    • Mick says:

The reason they changed the game started with the hawks 5 metre kicks

  23. dontblushbaby says:

Libba got approx 22 points for his goal

  24. AuroraBorealis?! says:

Any idea what par is this week? I ended up on 2284 before Bailey Scotts additional points are added, so i feel like 2250-2300 is probably around the mark

    • Maverick_ says:

i scored 2200 with heeney, dunkley and goldy all under achieving aurora. i think 2250-2300 is a pretty good score

    • JohnDJ59 says:

Worst than last week, will just make it to 2000 if lucky. Stuffed up my C big time.

      • AuroraBorealis?! says:

Who'd you stick the C on mate?

        • JohnDJ59 says:

I had the VC on Cripps and the C on Danger, I was going to go with Danger until the last minute, I put it on Fyfe.

          • kinglear009 says:

124 is hardly a stuff up. I picked Oliver last week and Cripps this week: that's a poor captaincy right there!!

            • JohnDJ59 says:

Hi King yes 124 is alright, just under my 125 preferred score, the stuff up was taking it off Danger 154, if I had planned on Fyfe in the first place it would have been a good score.

    • Derek says:

I think Scott lost points in the last quarter

  25. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Captain Fyfe and Ballard need at least 30 points from both of you

  26. BlueBaggerJosh says:

Thank God i fielded Libba over scott lol would’ve just deleted my team,
Dunkley thoooo….. do we trade him to a Boak type?
Only made the one trade thus far (Hanley the irish spud to Ballard)

    • Rocksta_ says:

I don’t normally like sideways trades, but Dunkley to T Kelly for me next week. 2 weeks, no tonnes, no good! I laboured long and hard over the Dunkley V T.Kelly F3 decision pre Rd 1. Made the wrong one, and now it’s time to correct it. Kelly is a bonifide mid whereas Dunkley isn’t.

  27. GloryDays94 says:

Do I trade Mundy? 73 and not even looking like going past that this week…..

    • Derek says:

He has made the decision very easy

64% TOG and NIL touches in last quarter, the game has gone past him

  28. Will says:

    Thoughts on Worpel?

    • Sam_01 says:

Liking him a lot, playing pure mid, dunno if he makes the top 6 tho, am considering myself

    • BrownlowBoy says:

I was big on him pre season, didn't end up selecting him but seems like a good option.

    • Danners says:

Looks to have picked up the pieces from Titch. Not gonna lie, bloody tempted by him

    • Lazza says:

Over the season, who do you think will be Top 6… Worpel or Gunston ? Mind you, with the injuries to Shiels and Burgoyne it could be positive for Worpel.. or the whole house might come tumbling down..

    • 2cents says:

for 20k more you can get a proven player who is averaging 20 points more. Do you think Worpel is a keeper?

    • Dermin8r says:

      I'm seriously considering turning Heeney (85, 67) into Worpel (110, 92)

  29. Hawk131415 says:

Cmon Supercoach open, im in the mood for some rage trading!!

    • TOPHAWK1 says:

That makes two of us. Billings and Goldy are two that are in my gun this week mate. Both scheit.

      • Hawk131415 says:

I feel for the Goldy owners, not so much for Billings owners, hes a burn man, got me last year,,,id give Goldy one more shot, today he was terrible,,,

  30. Vinny says:

Sam ‘The Interceptor’ Collins will keep his spot on my team after all.

  31. hedski says:

Collins has just escaped the noose.

  32. AuroraBorealis?! says:

Was hoping bailey scott would've gone at least up to 50 once the champion data server was back online, turns out he lost 2 points in a whole quarter!

  33. Shake_n_bake says:

Mundy definitely gone next week!!!!!! Doesn’t even get the minutes. Nth and suns 1st up, why did l go there.

    • GloryDays94 says:

Same mate. 73 and 40 are not good enough… Time to get rid of him

    • KeenButClueless says:

I absolutely dodged that bullet. A very near miss. I was close to not starting Grundy, putting Lycett into R2 and having Mundy as F3. If I had been able to put the leftover Grundy money to good use, I would have done it. Instead I ran Lycett as F3. Those 50:50 decisions can really make or break the season, and at different times it might look different. But today I am so happy, that the other blemishes in my team look like nothing.

    • Dermin8r says:

Mundy was in and out of my team all pre-season, then just before Round 1 I went with Neale, dodged a bullet there.

  34. AuroraBorealis?! says:

Could everyone do me a favour and not jump on Kelly this week? We all know that if everyone trades him in he'll have a stinker, it's the first rule of supercoach!

  35. CaptainObvious says:

2315 could have been much better if I benched spudderfield instead of Parker. But on the other hand if Ridley and Hore hadn't been dropped I wouldn't have fielded Collins. Snakes and Ladders

  36. KSinny says:

Only scored 2184 🙁 would had an extra 65 points if I hadn't of benched butters for Scott last second. How's everyone else's scores?

  37. BrownlowBoy says:

    Go Catters

  38. RoyWetard says:

Is there anyone that sees Dunkley's role as similar to Menegola's?

    • Sam_01 says:

Ahhh sort of? I don’t think menners gets much centre bounce giggs, that said I didn’t watch the cats game this week
He more rotated through there with bont and Wallis while people rest forward etc

    • Lekdog says:

17 Centre Bounces attended, just missed targets on the day

  39. Sam_01 says:

I am an owner of jack Steele and saw him getting the tagger icon on fanfooty, he has been solid but his role has me worried, considering swapping to tkelly and switching kelly forward when the time comes, or even down to worp to free up cash. Any thoughts? I’ll probably just ride iit out but 30pts at half time and finishing on 100+ 2 weeks in a row has me worried

    • GloryDays94 says:

115 and 100 is fine mate. Nothing to be worried about at all. He only needs a few more touches a game to go with his tackles and he will be flying. Don't waste a trade on him, not worth it trust me.

      • Sam_01 says:

Probably just gonna back him in and hold if he starts to hard tag and stink it I can chop him up then
Just with sheed and others I don’t have thought I may preemptively avoid a potential decline in his scoring

        • GloryDays94 says:

He was a tagger last year and played really well. 90-100 will be his flaw this year which is not bad

        • Russty_ says:

He's alright Sam, maybe not top 8 though, but this game works in strange ways, there are several different ways to end up at a good rank.
Sometimes, sticking with a non top 8 mid, helps you to get em when you need em, at the end of the season.
Gotta make sure you have enough trades left though.

          • Sam_01 says:

Look if he can just plod along at this average it would of put him right up there last year haha probably too 8 from memory, I’ve nailed all the rookie selections only thing I’ve missed is rocky and sheed and perhaps worpel
Apart from that sitting at top 3% 4400 points, other mids maybe just looking a bit better because it’s early season but already the guns are showing some inconsistencies
I guess the question is how worth is it to bring in sheed/rocky/worp it’s all a downgrade Banking 100k and losing no points

  40. Willymack1234 says:

    Bye Mundy

  41. hedski says:

Neil how did you crack 6300 points after 2 rounds?
$50k in your skyrocket already!!! 👍🤣

    • hedski says:

Holty and Brownlow Boy you're up there too

      • TOPHAWK1 says:

Holty had a huge score this week. He has left me behind in the rear view mirror. I think he is 132 points ahead of me now. Inside the top 1000 for both I think.

    • TOPHAWK1 says:

Hehehehehe. Did Neil hack the SC game platform algorithm and flick a few points his way? And he thought we wouldn't notice? LOL

  42. Yoo says:

dusty- tom Rockliff? or Sheed, Fyfe

  43. Finnius says:

2290 could have been 2350 without switching constable to Scott two minutes before the bounce! Feeling very confident in my team though.

I'm also holding Heeney – the Swans need him around the ball sooner rather than later. In a couple of weeks he'll be over the ankle and back where he belongs. Even as a forward he is still capable of averaging 90+. The forward line is so unpredictable at the moment that that is almost enough for a top 6 spot.

Anyone thinking of making any trades this week?

  44. Andy says:

    Boak or Kelly?

  45. Russty_ says:

Just got home, did Goldy's rucktime get reduced by Campbell, and did Scott get injured or was he just shizenhouzer?

    • NoLanguage96 says:

Yeah his ruck time was reduced but he lacked intensity and didn't get his hands on it enough in general. Scott had a case of the second game blues hard, he'll be ok

      • Russty_ says:

Cheers NL, disappointing those 2 but at least I got 2228 this week, big improvement on last week.

    • GloryDays94 says:

Hey Russty. I have Goldy also mate, frustrating watching him not get the ball… thinking we have to hold him? I have to trade out Mundy this week sadly 🙁 73 and 35 are just not good signs at all

  46. Yeahnah says:

Port fans – anyone know when Hartlett will be back? He's sitting on my bench in my draft team, wondering if it's worth keeping him

    • DavidC says:

Not a Port fan but I believe he played in the SAFL on the weekend and should be available for selection. Should come straight in for Watts.

  47. Rocksta_ says:

    Heeney or Dunkley for T.Kelly?

  48. Twilightingale says:

Anxious wait for Thursday night, does Balta come back, do Wilkie and Scott keep their spot, does Greene play?

Amon and Watts injuries strengthen the 4 Port rookies job security, Wines and Hartlett close to returning might have resulted in some very unlucky Port players making way for them.

    • Russty_ says:

Yeah much as I'd like to trade right now, gonna have to wait for what's happening with the rooks and Greene karate kicking champion flog…lol

    • Lazza says:

According to Cameron, Greene is 50/50 to play This week..

      • Russty_ says:

Reckon I'll pish him off for Kelly, bandaid off quick!

        • Twilightingale says:

Very unlikely I’ll trade Dusty but half tempted to go Dusty & Greene for Lloyd & LDU.
Lloyd the only player I’m worried about hurting me that I don’t have. Continuing his form form last year. Also gets rid of two potential headaches.

  49. Justin says:

Anyone know what happened to Coniglio and Westoff?

    • cash_cows says:

Didn't watch but fanfooty said he was tagged.

    • Yeahnah says:

Didnt watch either game but fanfooty said Hutchings was tagging Coniglio. Not sure about Westhoff

    • Twilightingale says:

Neither player is capable of averaging 150 for a whole season. The negative outliers (this week) balance out the positive outliers (last week) in their scoring

    • Russty_ says:

Cogs got tagged by Hutchings, and Lycett scored 167 in the Ruck, Westhoff, not 5 goals this week, and not much ball. Maybe he was hungover.

    • Justin says:

      Thanks guys

    • DavidC says:

Cogs tagged by Hutchins. Westoff playing a shitty forward role, he needed 5 goals last week to score well.

Hoff always throws up half a dozen spud games and Coniglio was a trap that sprung shut.

  50. GloryDays94 says:

    Mundy to Boak or Kelly?

    • Russty_ says:

Out of those 2, who are doing quite well, I'd go Kelly. he was a rookie last year and is now a premo, much like Oliver was in his second year, Boak is older and not as exciting.

    • cash_cows says:

      Kelly for sure

  51. poloko48 says:

Scored 2162 this week after a 2105 last week, bit of a slow start but only 2 rounds in so early days. Using both trades this week to flick a couple of underperforming midpricers and getting the 2 cashcows I haven't already got.

    OUT Tobias IN Parker
    OUT McGrath IN Constable

Leaves me with a massive $620K in the bank and the following team:

DEF: Lloyd, Williams, Smith, Scrimshaw, Clark, Duursma (Collins, Hore)
MID: Jelwood, Dusty, Brayshaw, Libba, Cousins, Walsh, Drew, Scott (Butters, Constable, Gibbons)
    RUC: Grundy, Gawn (Bines)
FWD: Danger, Hoff, Heeney, Dahl, Moore, Petruccelle (Setterfield, Parker)

Hopefully won't be too far back when I'm ready to start upgrading to premo!

  52. Benjiherb says:

Yeap comrads I put two duds in my team which one you think I should trade this week Jack Steven (was hoping for old form) or Sam Jacobs . Can only trade one as I've traded Wilkie for Parker.

  53. AuroraBorealis?! says:

All aboard the Rocky train fellas, shoulders are better and he's looking far more confident around the ball. Would've cracked 150 if the weather didn't turn to sh*t and he didnt start getting tagged.

It's a big risk but if it pays off it'll put me ahead of the pack. I normally play SC very conservatively but this year i'm gonna just have a crack, here's hoping Wines coming back in doesn't effect him too badly

    • Doc says:

He's looking the goods, much fitter than last year, would love to slot him in my midfield but sadly nowhere to put him. Would have upgraded Libba to him if Libba was poor today but turned out to do (really) well. It's a risk, but definitely a risk worth taking.

    • Patch says:

I reckon Wines will knock Boak out of the midfield rotation ahead of Rocky, Borealis, but I'd love for a Port fan to give a more in-depth analysis

      • ZzZCalintZzZ says:

Rockliff won't play fwd because they won't risk his shoulders. For that reason Ebert is playing fwd, highly likely Boak will play 50/50 mid/fwd or mid/def depending on game situation and match ups. Rockliff will be a pure mid in this new Port team

      • AuroraBorealis?! says:

Agreed that Rocky is ahead of Boak in that regard but i think they can all three share it pretty comfortably, ebert will remain predominately forward for the rest of the season you'd imagine

Thoughts on Taranto to Rocky and Dunkley to Kelly as corrective trades before price changes?

    • Lazza says:

Whilst Kelly is a must have (after only 2 rounds) who are your tradeable FWDs? I wouldn’t be trading Dunkley just yet…

    • 2cents says:

Very risky points chasing. Rocky was totally shut down after half time by spudderfield and Dunkley scored 98 week one.
If you want to dump Tarzanaranto swap him for somebody cheap who is scoring well, there are heaps of sub 300k players averaging mid80's to mid 90's

    • Dermin8r says:

I'm considering Taranto to Rockliff too as an early corrective + starts building my cash reserves.

    • Cpt Pugwash says:

I wouldn’t trade Dunkley- you’ll regret it for sure.

  56. Gavin Wishart says:

Was dubious about Martin this year but was swayed bye everyone's confidence in him. He burnt me last year and get the feeling he's going to be around the 100 average this year. I think Sheed will average more at 170k cheaper and free up the potential for an early premo upgrade. I've got Simpson and Heeney but think they will bounce back but Martin I've got no confidence in. Crazy to flick him??

    • poloko48 says:

I think Gaff is back this week which may affect Sheed's scoring.

      • Russty_ says:

Not sure Poloko, Sheed is still only 23, and Gaff will be rusty, Sheed might be doing what Oliver did in his second year.

    • Lazza says:

Simpson = fools gold .. the SC champ’s dawn has arrived

    • JohnDJ59 says:

I didn't have any confidence in him after last year and I wasn't swayed by anyone, you need to own your decisions, not blame other people for them.

  57. Twilightingale says:

Might not mean anything but Boak averaged 98 pre bye last season, dropped off to 81 post bye. It's unclear what the supercoach impact is on every port midfielder with the inclusion of WInes.

May not be the best time to trade him in with already missing out on 2 of his better games and if his midfield minutes / center bounce attendances are impacted by WInes. Just something to think about since there's a few Boak related posts. Well done for everyone who started him, especially with his very low ownership.

  58. ZzZCalintZzZ says:

    Martin > Sloane
    Heeney > Kelly

  59. Patch says:

    Luke Davis-Uniacke… 197k coming off a 90-odd and a 118. Had 26 touches today…any takers?

    • ZzZCalintZzZ says:

      wow that's under the radar

      • Patch says:

I mentioned him in one of the pre-season podcasts but didn't seem worth picking ahead of Walsh or Cousins. Has a -83 breakeven with Hawks, Adelaide, Essendon, Port and the Blues in his next five…

    • Russty_ says:

I think it's it's just his 3 name…name that puts me off, and that he's from North Melbourne, he would seem to be the only expensive rookie worth the price at the moment though.

    • JohnDJ59 says:

I did look at him after last week Patch and he has backed it up, but I am going with Rozee instead due to his def/fwd swing.

    • 2cents says:

I offered him up in JLT and mentioned that everybody was initially excited by him in his rookie year pre-jlt so why isn't he an option at a similar price with actual senior experience. All the regulars were quick to shutdown any talk about him stating that he'd never be SC relevant.
Great upgrade for Merrett if you have zach

    • Hplate says:

How is he flying so low under the radar? Even though he's expensive those are great scores. If Ridley or Collins had put those numbers up people would be frothing!

  60. Benjiherb says:

Do we trade rookies wilkie for Parker an petruccle for drew . Or a rookie and a under performing mid ?

    • Russty_ says:

Reckon you need to get Parker in, Wilkie could be out for Hind soon, hasn't done enough. You also need Drew, he's a top notch rookie that you'll kick yourself for if you don't have him next week.

    • JohnDJ59 says:

Both Parker and Drew are scoring very well and can be on field with confidence, they will make heaps of cash for you as well, so yes you need to get them in.

  61. Tommo09 says:

My team is in trouble. Two scores of around 2100 and am ranked 45k. Not good not good

Any ideas on what to do to improve my team?

Def: Lloyd Short Mills Smith Clark Duursma (Scrimshaw Hore)
Mid: Cripps Fyfe Bont Dusty O’Meara Walsh Constable Scott (Atkins Butters Gibbons)
    Ruc: Grundy Gawn (Sweet)
Fwd: Danger Heeney Petracca Setterfield Drew Parker (Petruccelle Balta)

    $134k left
My round 3 projected score is 2150 so I’d like to improve that. I was thinking of trading in Moore and maybe trading out Mills but I want to give him one more week to prove himself.

    Any thoughts?

    • Twilightingale says:

      Out: Mills, Petracca
      In: Moore, Whitfield / Laird

Can't see Mills or Petracca threatening to be a top 6 forward or defender. Laird and Whitfield are arguably must have defenders come season end. Moore been a very good pick for those who started him, will make money and looks to be scoring well. Good downgrade option for a failed mid price selection.

    • Russty_ says:

Maybe roll the dice Tommo and go Mills to Williams and Petracca to Moore to bank some moolah. Don't rate Mills at all, never averaged more than 79.
Your Team's pretty solid really with a few let'll need to strengthen your fwd line next week though.

    • JohnDJ59 says:

Mills > Moore and Tracca > Kelly.

    • TOPHAWK1 says:

      Hi Tommy.

I reckon you are not far from nailing a big score. If I had your team, the two that stand out as passengers, it would have to Mills and Petracca. Both need to go. Petracca to Darcy Moore and Mills to a jet like Jack Crisp. Crisp will really give your backline some steel. Then after that watch Dusty and Heeney. If they continue to under achieve start planning to move them on. Good luck mate!

  64. Russty_ says:

Great to see Gilbert McAdam doing some guest commentary work tonight on Fox Sports, during the Hawks/ Bulldogs game.
Liked his honest and forthright approach to it, I think there should be more of our indigenous legends commenting on the game they were so good at.
Hope Fox Sports keeps it going with more interesting guest commentators, maybe for them even to become regulars.

    • Northerner says:

Great call out Rusty Gilbert has been a regular on the National Indigenous Radio Network for some time. The diversity in our game should be reflected in the commentary box and it’s not currently.

Dusty – Neale and Mundy – Kelly is really bloody tempting….
2156 this week is not good enough. Too many under performing bloody premos.

Got all the right rooks except Constable, is he a must have?
Only way to get him would be Balta OUT, Drew forward, Constable IN.
I'd lose my Mid/Fwd swing set which I don't like.

My other mid rookies are Scott, Atkins, Gibbons, Drew, Butters.

    • GloryDays94 says:

Constable averaging over 80 as a rookie and could have scored a lot more on weekend with 30 touches etc so get him in! Drew is FWD for most people. And get rid of Mundy

    • Derek says:

If Balta not named get Constable. This is why you have the swing set early in season, to swing trades

    • Lazza says:

Constable is a must have … 3rd highest projected revenue earner … Balta may get a gig this week to replace Riewoldt ..
Do you have Hore down back and Burgess up forward? If so, could do Hore out, Burgess back, Drew fwd, Constable in.

      • The Ranger says:

Nice idea Lazza, I have Burgess down back and Moore up forward so I could prob do something with the swings.
Mundy is sh!tt!ing me to tears so he might have to go too which opens up all sorts of possibilities.
Just have to wait for teams to be sure of what to do, I'll def get on Constable, just not sure how.

    • NoLanguage96 says:

I'm doing Ridley if he doesn't get named to Constable via the swing from Duursma. Otherwise straight swap for Atkins works

Yeah I didn't see bloody Campbell getting a game Rick, I thought he was just cover as they had Daw go down and Preuss leave.
Not good. Not good at all. Goldie needs to be the lone wolf to score well.

      • Lazza says:

I won't trade Goldy this week … cos Grundy (BE 193) will probably lose more $$ … as will Goldy (BE 150).. so hoping for a net zero trade when compared to their values this week.. also gives us another week to assess both.

  70. Daniel says:

    Thoughts on these trades;

    Dusty to Constable
Balta or Hore to Jake Lloyd

  71. Derek says:

I’m the first one to say hold your trades, especially your premiums.

But, I have watched Mundy (when he was actually on the field) for two weeks and I’m sick of yelling at the TV.

Let’s just pretend he is injured and I have to trade him.

I went deep in forward line this year, Danger, Heeney, Mundy, Kelly, Moore & Setterfield. It cost me on other lines but I thought it was worth it.

I was so close to going with Lycett, but I wasn’t certain he had the #1 ruck job. I probably would have gone Lovett instead of Kelly.

Plus Mundy had a good bye.

I’m afraid it is goodbye Mundy

    • DEE says:

      It's Monday Trade OUT Mundy…

    • Derek says:

at half time he had 62% TOG

last quarter was on most of time and touched the ball once.

  72. 2cents says:

    Ridley to Scrimshaw or Rozee?
    Balta to McCarthy or Bruce?

    • Lazza says:

Balta and Ridley might play this week – someone has to replace Riewoldt and Essendon need to make changes ..

    • DavidC says:

Balta probably gets named this week with Jack and Rance and Grimes out. His role might be different so I'd give him another go. Even Ridley was unlucky to get dropped, was an emergency last week, I'm holding him for now as long as I have cover.

Ok I have completed my Monday morning Rage Trade.

    Ridley to Scrimshaw
    Heeney to Lloyd (Via DPP)

I didn't have Lloyd last year and he is doing it to me again this year. Is this a crazy trade?

    • Doc_1 says:

I say go for it. I looked at the heeney to Lloyd but couldn’t find the cash.

Lloyd definitely top 6 defender IMO. He’s going to cost whenever you get him, and cost you points until you do.
Heeney not locked into top 6 yet, and will lose cash before recovering. If you have no other rookie corrections that need making and you can leave your team for the next 3-4 weeks barring LTI I would get it done.

      • Lobbe Wan Kenobi says:

        Thanks Doc,

Definitely my thoughts as well behind this. Can't see Lloyd dropping off at all this season. Leaves me pretty light on in the forward line with Moore at D3 however, the way the Collingwood were chipping it around their defence there seems to be a lot if easy points. Leaves me with a
Backline of Lloyd, Hurn, Crisp, Smith plus rookies and a Forward line of Danger Dunkley Moore.

    • Rick Grimes says:

Ridley might get named. Not like the Bombers went any better without him.

      • Lobbe Wan Kenobi says:

Yeah I think he will but it worried me that he got cut from a side doing so poorly even though he definitely was not their worst performer.
I also think the combination of Scrimshaw and Lloyd will out score Heeney and Ridley as well as Scrimshaw making more money.

  75. Danny says:

I really am tempted to Rage Trade Heeney and Simpson to Kelly and Lloyd but I’m 700 god damn bucks short. Have no other pressing needs in terms of rookies I need to get rid of or get in so I was like screw it why not. So is it worth trying to somehow get Lloyd in now, or even Kelly? Or should I hold my trades and calm down hahahahaha

    • JohnDJ59 says:

Both of those trades are what we aren't supposed to do, but both would improve your team by some margin and Simmo and Heeney are struggling at the moment. I'm thinking of trading Heeney out myself, but I'm giving Simmo another week.

      • Danny says:

I’m beyond torn, and I’ve already hit the reverse trade button twice. This is going to be a longggg week

    • Boris_Baconbeer says:

look at Kelly's Projected score and value increase. He is not going to become out of reach any time soon. He is a must have but not enough to screw your team trying to get in immediately. Take your time making a little money.

Opinion please for Heeney and Mills.

    Worpel and Whitfield

    • LeDoctor says:

Heeney should come good unless we hear more about his injury, will probably start attending more stoppages and center bounces when he's in better shape, disappointing start but he will come good. On the other hand, dump Mills. Plenty of options there, trade to Zac Williams, upgrade to someone in the upper 400ks if you've got some spare cash, could also downgrade to a good defense rookie and upgrade a bad mid rookie to someone like Rocky or Libba.

  80. Lazza says:

I'm looking at Yeo to anyone .. well Fyfe.
If Greene plays this week then my 2nd trade will be Martin to either J Lloyd (via DPP) or T Kelly.
If Greene doesn't play, then Greene to Moore.
Greene to Moore, or Martin to T Kelly, gives me $$ to bring Grundy in the following week if Goldy spuds it up again..

Anyway, that's Monday versions 1 and 2 of crazy corrections week…

  81. KSinny says:

Really really tempted to trade Martin to either Rocky or sheed to bank some cash, if u had to who would u pick out of the two?

    • DavidC says:

    • Justin says:

I'll be going Dusty to Rocky this week then if Sheed can still produce I'll be upgrading a rookie to him next week. Tempted to jump on both this week but what ever increase we see in Sheeds price will be matched by rookies price rise. Get one more look at Sheed that way.

  82. SamuraiPizzaCat says:

If Ridley isn't named again this week I might use my first trade; Ridley to Darcy Moore.
A lot of people are trading out Heeney but I'm going to hold at this point. I could be wrong but I think it's a bit early to trade him out.

  83. Mystic_Mac says:

Not usually one to sideways trade premos, but I'm pulling the trigger on Henney to Kelly.. God it feels good!

    • ZzZCalintZzZ says:

Yeah not confident holding Heeney. If he plays through this injury he will continue to play fwd heavily and score 55-80 pts unless he kicks a bag.

    • Northerner says:

I’m not convinced Heeney to Kelly is worth the trade. Agree Kelly is safer bet. However, I’d been eyeing off a ruck/fwd F6 all pre season as I think I’ll need cover for Grawndy at some stage. Even for byes as they are both Rd 13.

So looking at ruck/fwd options, I do think Lycett warrants consideration. He played a great game against Gawn and then smashed it on the weekend. If he goes on a run we will have missed him after this week, although there’s a reasonable chance he might still be there for a Heeney straight swap in one more week. Under consideration.

    • Rocksta_ says:

      Same same

  84. ZzZCalintZzZ says:

Think I have the right rage trades done

    Heeney > Moore

Heeney injury cloud, set to lose a bucket load of cash over the next 2-3 weeks.

    Martin > Lloyd via dpp

Martin not a top 10 mid this year without the tackles and right head space.

Best part is I free up 240k

    • TommyC99 says:

Heeney has been playing through an injury. He well definitely lose cash but still reckon he is top 6 fwd, in which case cash really doesn't matter unless he suffers a serious injury. He should come good.
I can see the appeal in the trades, but to me, seems like you're going a tad backwards. Moore could easily get injured next week (wouldn't put it past him) then you would have to either sideways him or downgrade him, and then you have essentially traded 2 premos for an ultra premo and a basement rookie.

      • ZzZCalintZzZ says:

Don't see how I'm going backwards at all….
Moore can match Heeney on pts at worst while Heeney plays heavily fwd because of this injury.
Lloyd clearly will score 20+ on Dusty on any given week.
I take the 240k and the extra pts is what I am doing.

        • TommyC99 says:

Moore isn't a keeper and needs to be traded out at some stage, whereas you picked heeney and dusty to get picked to be in your side all year. I agree Lloyd could very easily outscore dusty and there is merit to trading dusty – Lloyd

Horse said to expect Heeney to play more mid in the coming weeks. So we shouldnt expect him to keep pumping out sub 80s.

I think Heeney and Moore should score similar ish, but i think Heeney can defiitely be more trusted than Moore can. I think if Heeney gets the mid time Horse has said he will, i thibnk Heeney should be more consistent

          • Hawk131415 says:

Where did you see that Tommy? because the other day Horse said he wont be playing forward because of his ankle, that could be weeks away? hes going to bleed coin and if he comes good youll get him at a bargain price,

    • The Ranger says:

Have you got all of the right rookies?
Rookie correctives first then luxury trades.

      • Prizza says:

Spot on ive gone mills-rozah and had to off load petrasmelly to parker for the obvious, first trades for the year but i do have every other gun rookie bar walsh,

    • GloryDays94 says:

Be thankful you have Heeney and not Mundy!

  85. TommyC99 says:

Dusty is definitely cause for concern. Doesn't look right at this stage. I still reckon he will come good but will it be good enough for top 10 mid? I'm not so sure. I fall short of being able to go Dusty – Fyfe and feel like trading him to anyone around his price is as sideways as it gets.

What would peoples thoughts be on going Dusty – Rocky to free up cash? Rocky's injury history suggests it could burn me but he is looking the goods. And i'm looking like going into this week with still the 30 trades up my sleeve so i can afford a sideways trade.

Other options include dusty – Kelly/Andrews/Whitfield, but that would leave me with 3 with the same bye on 1 line, which i dont particularly like the look of, especially as that particular bye is easily my most problematic.

    • kyle says:

at the moment im going dusty to rocky which banks me 174k

      • The Ranger says:

Tons of people will be moving on Dusty this week Tommy and it's easy to understand why.
As long as you have all of the right rookies then go for it.
I'm gonna back him in for a bit longer, he tonned up in Rd1 without breaking a sweat and was tagged by Greenwood last week.

        • TommyC99 says:

Hey Ranger, Yeah i got all the right rookies. Hore – Wilkie the only one worth considering. I was lucky enough to have started all the good ones. I think he will improve but this is the week to jump on Rocky and if i don't pull the trigger this week, i'm stuck with him for a few weeks. Definitely food for thought

  86. GloryDays94 says:

Do we hold Hore or should I corrective to Scrimshaw. He is the only decent rookie I don't have

    • Sharkmove_King says:

I'm holding Hore and loopholing the hell.out of him until something irresistible comes along….. Scrimshaw is not a must have, consider it if he will be your d6 instead of a Spud, but not a must have.

      • Black Boy says:

Sorry – think Scrmshaw is a must have – lot of injuries at the Hawks and Birchall out indefinitely,

    • Shake_n_bake says:

Hore to come back in for May?

    • Yeahnah says:

I think Hore will come in for May this week. Whether he holds his spot for more than 1 week is another question

  87. Swans2012 says:

Have been time poor this year so my first post of the season! Hi to all the regulars out there!
Anyway thought I’d go left field this year with a moderate mid Price mad set up. I’m planning on taking a crouching approach- trade arse off. Started English at r2 after having Grundy locked away all Pre season (Gawn r1). Hasn’t been a complete fail as it allowed for smith d4 and Libba at m6 and I’m points positive from the move and soon to be cash positive with Libba and smith performing. I am going to have to do something with English though as I can’t look at 60’s for a month @ 300k (not going to make the bit of cash I’d hoped).
So I’m going to bank some cash this week to get English up to grundy in the next month, dusty to rocky (same output- 150k saved) and dunkley or Heen down to someone, probably worp but maybe even right down to bruce to make a quick buck over the next couple… anyway I’m going loose this year… I know I’ll regret it but hey, who knows….
Oh and don’t give me the no sideways etc blah blah, believe me, I know the drill….

    • The Ranger says:

Was wondering where you were Swans…good to see you back on the site.
The Worpedo is def on the radar, dunno about Rocky, worried what will happen to his role once Wines comes back, you'd think that either him or Boak has to spend more time fwd.

      • Swans2012 says:

Your right of course ranger, but I can’t help but think that they will leave rocky doing his thing if he’s doing it well enough, plus there is wingards midfield minutes to soak up…

    • Hi Swans Yeah great to hear from you .Your starting of Libba and Smith has and will continue to be positive just a pity it involved English..Both the Dusty and Heeney trades will get you to Grundy but you will be trades poor mate Wont matter if you have the right rookies in place Onwards and upwards cheers and good luck

      • Swans2012 says:

Thanks Neil, not worried about being trade poor this year, just going to go for it for a month or so, I’m thinking I might hold heen, but dusty I think is in the gun….thanks for the input

    • Derek says:

Hi swans. I did have a team at some stage over the pre season that had English at R2, i do like my risky R2's. Had Lycett last year and the 60's each week are hard to take.
      good luck mate

      • Swans2012 says:

Hi Derek, yeah at r1 for the dogs I thought he might just bang out a few months of 80’s before tiring but doesn’t look likely now! Anyway I’ll make some cash to make the Grundy trade possible in a week or so and monitor the Mumford/Clarke/rookie ruck situation over the next couple weeks.

    • Dermin8r says:

I started with R1 Goldy, R2 English planning to wait for G&G's prices to drop, now I'm thinking Goldy to McEvoy to help out now, then upgrade English next month to Gawn or Grundy once my rookies have generated some $$)

  88. JohnDJ59 says:

I want to get Rozee into my team, who would you trade out for him out of Simmo, Heeney, or a rookie that will only have good cash generation for two to three weeks but has good JS.

    • We seem to be on a parralell course this season John. I am getting him in this week also. Toss up with Moore but its more i dont trust his health

      • JohnDJ59 says:

Hi Neil, yes I'm not sure on Moore either, since he won't make a lot of cash or be a keeper, but he does have good JS and is scoring well.

    • Holty01 says:

Hi John. Dont like the idea of booting a premo for a rookie. Feels like your taking a backwards step to get to full premo as quick as possible. Do you have any rookies not playing?

      • JohnDJ59 says:

Hi Holty, all my rookies are playing apart from Hore and he could be back this week. Rozee is the only rookie I don't have that could make some serious cash and I like the fact he is a dpp. I'm just a bit torn between Simmo and Heeney for who to trade out as I would prefer Rozee in my fwd line, but I feel Heeney has more upside for improvement, since Newman seems to be taking some of Simpson's points and I don't want to trade a rookie for another rookie before they have got to their breakeven.

  89. FearTheBeard says:

I know it's sidewards as it gets.

    Martin & Heeny – Fyfe & Kelly?

I did it just to lock it in and gee it looked nice. I started with Grundy & Gawn and I feel my forwards has 3 set for locks, 6 mids locked. So feels like I can afford the corrective. I'm a tiger fan and Dusty tonned up first week but just think with Jack & Rance out Tigers not confident Dusty smashes out what Fyfe can for a while.

  90. Shake_n_bake says:

Taking a poll. Mundy straight swap for Kelly? Lycett? Or trade down to Moore bank the coin then reassess?

    • DavidC says:

Lycett if you need a fwd/ruc backup to swing with R3 else Kelly.

    • Derek says:

I already have Kelly, so i'm going Lycett. Kelly looks the better selection if you don't have him.

    • Holty01 says:

Everyone wants Kelly. No one was interested in Lycett until the weekend. 1 score and now everyone wants him. Look what happened with Hoff.
I’d play it safe Shake and go Kelly. You know what ur getting. I personally have no idea what ur getting with Lycett.

      • Shake_n_bake says:

It’s probably just the ruck fwd swing. And the bye.

        • Russty_ says:

I reckon getting as many midfielders into your fwd line should be priority Shake…just need to work around the Grawndy outs in round 13.

    • Whitey says:

My one trade for this week is Mundy to Kelly. Mundy looked slow and past it. Accept my mistake and blow a trade.

      • Russty_ says:

35 is unacceptable Whitey….old man gotta go.

      • I am in the same position Whitey. Trades are vital as we all know from last year. I was thinking of Rocky or Sheed but it's going to cost 2 more trades to get either to Fyfe etc. Toss up for me Kelly and 130k or Fyfe @ 618 k and bogger all. Fyfe will drop but for me it's Fyfe for Life. Some of our coaches have similar structures with 10 prems each and 4 or 5 midpricers. They are hoping for 2 or 3 midpricers to crack the top 6. Libba Smith Williams DEgoey Greene Rocky B Crouch and BILLINGS are all good . I have two also but who on that list will be a keeper . For mine only Rocky I just worry about trades but Mundy is a must to trade

  91. RoyWetard says:

Looking to trade Brouch/Billings>Worpel(I'm thinking keeping Billings of the 2 is smarter) and Scott/Atkins to LDU/Butters(leaning LDU). Thoughts?

  92. magic mullet says:

I tried a Jayden short experiment should I hold or try to trade him to someone else, I already have Williams and b smith

  93. Goat____23 says:

Tim kelly had an average of 117.5 after round 2 last season. Not saying he wont finish in the top 6 forwards, but sideways trading Heeney/Dunkley to the man is foolish. Are we really that confident in Kelly that he will produce tons every week? Because if we arent then its really not worth the sideways trade. Stick to your premos.

    • Holty01 says:

Normally agree Goat but while the bloke is injured and won’t be playing much in the midfield, very hard to keep the Bloke. I’m accepting starting him has been a mistake and moving him on for the time being is the best for my team. Although it helps I haven’t used a trade yet.

  94. R.P says:

Lot of panic trades being discussed getting rid of Dusty and Heeney. It's a long way to go you gotta stick don't you ?

    • Russty_ says:

Probably, but it's more fun trading lol

    • Dermin8r says:

I'm 2 weeks into my 3rd season of SC and I have finally gotten a handle on my rage trade urges, I'm trying really hard not to turn Heeney into Worpel this week….

      • Hawk131415 says:

Do it, Worpels going to average more, at least to the bye rds, and Heeney is going to bleed cash til then if that ankle doesnt get better, then when and if it does you can pick him up at a bargain,,

  95. Fisherdann says:

Do Mills and Mundy have to go?

Thinking Mills to Lloyd and Mundy to Moore.
    What do ya reckon fellas?

    • Russty_ says:

Hi Dan, yeah I reckon they've both gotta go, Mills is doing what he does every other year, and Mundy is gonna bleed cash for his price, better off jumping off the sinking ship now.
Mundy to Moore or maybe Rozee.
I wish I'd started Lloyd over Laird now, Laird seems to be affected by Smith and Lloyd is killing the pig.

      • Fisherdann says:

        Cheers Russty.
Yeah Lloyd may become near unattainable if I don't jump on now.
Who do you think has more upside of Moore and Rozee?
Rozee may earn more cash but Moore looks like he has a touch better scoring capacity.

        • Russty_ says:

I started with Moore (big risk) but he's working out ok so far, is enjoying a Sicily type second go around as a defender, sucked as a forward.
I'd like to get Rozee in but think I might miss the boat on him and if I do, no big deal I think (I've already got Walsh and Collins).
I think Moore could make you more points, but Rozee could be less risky, if that helps.

  96. Vinny says:

Are we just chasing points by trading in rockliff? Does anyone actually think he will finish a top 8 midfielder? In I think it’s all a trap in my own opinion. Would love to know everyone elses thoughts?

    • LeDoctor says:

Top eight midfielder? Probably not. Will be good enough a midfielder to warrant not trading out by the end of the season? Probably in my books. Body is in good shape, in good form, playing an SC friendly role, biggest concern is if his role will change with the return of some injured players. Wouldn't trade him in at this point unless you didn't have enough money for a premo.

    • Lazza says:

Setterfield tagged Rocky after half time … only scored 26 points on the kid. Also explains Setterfield's lower score this week.
What do you think the other coaches are gonna do now??

    • Danners says:

Definitely looks like chasing points. I think that Wines will take over as the inside midfielder when he comes back which will have a big dent in his score.

  97. Dan says:

People who still have GREENE what are you doing this week? Do we hold? I kind of just want to cut him out and be done with it but unsure who to go to. Sideways to Sheed/Rocky/Moore or down to Rozee/Davis-Uniacke or holding what is everyone doing?

    • dontblushbaby says:

If he plays I am holding ,because it is only his 2nd game we can look at it next week ,I / we picked him because he offered value and if he plays to his max he is a top 8 FWD

  98. yoo says:

    Dusty to rockliff
    and tranto to lachie neal

    • LeDoctor says:

Yes for Dusty to Rockliff, no for Taranto to Neale, Taranto averaging 95, no reason to get rid of him yet. Also consider Dusty to Neale if possible.

      • Dermin8r says:

Agreed, I'm hanging onto Taranto and not falling into the potential Rocky trap, but Neale has been solid (he's in my team), but yeah, I agree Dusty looks cooked, 0 tackles after 2 rounds and not lighting it up in the MID or in front of goal.

      • Danners says:

Agree with this, Derek made a good point the other day though that Port still have Wines to come back into the midfield

    • redherringfc says:

Are you writing Dusty off for the season?

    • Rick says:

      Classic points chasing

  99. John says:

Thoughts on Darling? Not playing bad at all but 4 goals only giving him 90 points isn’t a promising sign, plus I don’t like how the Eagles are playing 4 talls with Vardy Allen and JJK also in there. Should I trade this week to Worpel/LDU, or hold for a few more weeks to assess and then maybe snap up an underpriced Westhoff/DSmith/McDonald/Menegola?

    • Rick Grimes says:

That's the conundrum with key forwards. They can kick a bag but still end up with a middling score. I'd hold tho, it's not like Worpedo is essential. Darling could pump out 150 at any time.

      • Brn says:

Where is that idiot who was abusing me on here for saying i think darling will only average 80 something now?

  100. Rick Grimes says:

Let me tell you about a story, a little story about Jack and Diane. They both owned Fyfe, he was going bad, a run of 70s and 80s. He's done they community said, playing injured they thought. Well Jack got angry and rage traded him to whoever was that weeks flavour of the..week. Diane held strong. He's a premo she said, class is permanent. The next week Fyfe went huge. Then again and again for the rest of the year. Poor Jack went insane with frustration and was last seen begging for change in the park. Diane went on to be McDonald's employee of the month five times straight. Moral of the story, sideways trade a premo at your peril.

    • JohnDJ59 says:

Are you a John Mellencamp fan Rick.

      • Rick Grimes says:

Don't mind him, song just happened to be playing as I perused the comments.

        • JohnDJ59 says:

I've got all his albums from the eighties and nineties and saw him in concert twice, in 88 & 92, so I'm a fan of that time period.

    • DavidC says:

Perhaps you should also tell the story of Billings and Hibberd. Swings and roundabouts. Sometimes the trade works, sometimes it doesn't.

  101. Jay says:

Thoughts on Tim Kelly? Not sure if I should pick him up and trade out Greene

    • Rick Grimes says:

Kelly is a must have but he's not going to explode in price. Greene, if fit, could easily go 90ave. But how far off is he from being close to fit. If not named, trade away. But could always take another look at both.

  102. AuroraBorealis?! says:

Macrae with a 130 point average from 7 games against Gold Coast. Danger into him for me this week

  103. dontblushbaby says:

I'm backing Heeney & Mills who play Carlton and Dusty to bounce back , however the only Rookie I don't have is Constable , if Balta doesn't get named I'll bring him in via DPP or Bailey Scott might get dropped this week, but I will hold him if does , otherwise no trades this week as I have no injuries

    • FearTheBeard says:

I'm in the same boat (Heeney & Martin) and can't decide if I go Kelly & Fyfe or hold firm.

I'm leaning towards cutting. I nailed my rookies so I can afford the correct and worst case there is bargain buyers in Heeney & Martin if the pulltheir shit together.

      • John says:

I would hold Heeney but trade Dusty. Heeney has been battling an ankle injury so might have one or two more games up forward before returning to midfield. Dusty on the other hand doesn’t look interested and hasn’t laid a single tackle yet. Crouch and Bont are good around that price range.

As for Mills, I would 100% trade. Won’t average enough to be a top 10 defender even if he plays full time midfield but has only been drifting off half back so far. Trade him to one of Stewart, Andrews, ZWilliams or Brodie Smith.

        • FearTheBeard says:

John curious your opinion. Say Fyfe to Dusty. Hold Heeney and miss Kelly for now?

I've nailed all rookies so figured corrective trade till I see Heeney fit/productive and obviously cheaper. Also lock in Kelly now.

          • John says:

You will need to have both Heeney and Kelly in your forward line by season's end so no point trading Heeney out then bringing him back in later. Wasted two trades in my opinion. On the other hand, Fyfe is looking in Brownlow medal form and will have another big week against Saints this week so pull the trigger.

  104. Russty_ says:

Anyone considering Caleb Daniel as a smokey pod?..he seems to be excelling in his new half back role even though he's a fwd.
    1% ownership…112 average.

    • Yeahnah says:

I was looking at him in preseason Russty but his JLT2 score scared me off… great user of the ball but I've got a feeling his scores will depreciate when the dogs start losing

      • Russty_ says:

I'm surprised such a little bugger is doing so well in the backline Yeahnah…it's like he was meant to be there, I'll probably end up doing something more sensible though, or nothing at all.

    • Lazza says:

I'm considering bring him in or T Kelly … But If I go Martin to Caleb this week, it means I can go Greene to T Kelly the following week.(assuming Kelly increase is less than $20k)

    • Looked good against the Hawks Russty Beaten twice in mismatches right in front but even Paul Callery looks down to him .Great player and half back suits .On watch big time

      • Russty_ says:

Hi Neil yeah me too mate, on watch…his new role seems to agree with his scoring, probs need to wait and see if it's every week or just the first few weeks.

        • COREYSC says:

Yeah I have been watching him closely and unfortunately I’m not convinced on consistency for me I’ll have to wait an extra couple of weeks before I would consider him

  105. Russty_ says:

Is Heeney to Kelly and Greene to Worpel worth doing this week if Heeney and Greene both play?

    • Nice_Person says:

    • Dont fall for that crop Russty Trades are valuable mate and Heeney is top 6 no worries .Many including me are waiting for him to drop Horse must play him mids

      • Russty_ says:

Cheers Neil, side does look better with Heeney and Greene out though, gotta play the long game though…I'd love to be in a position to trade away after 4 or 5 rounds. 🙂

    • Danners says:

Would just do Greene to Worpel. I doubt Heeney would average 80-85 for the rest of the season, also has Carlton this week, a good chance to catch so form

      • Russty_ says:

Can't do it Danners without doing 2 trades. Kinda tempted to do nothing this week actually, scored 228 more points than last week doing nothing this week. If Greene's out might go him to Rozee to make some moolah

        • COREYSC says:

Hold your trades Russty if Greene returns this week otherwise if he isn’t playing you may have to pull the trigger on that trade

  106. Hawks says:

Thinking of trading Dusty, its not his scoring that concerns me, but more the fact that he is not tackling, and spending too much time not on the ball. He can not be fit.

I'm thinking of trading to one of-
Sloan, Rocky, Sheed (but worried about impact of Gaff returning), or Bont.

    Appreciate the communities thoughts.

  107. Nice_Person says:

Can't wait to pick up a cheap heeney. He's top 6

  108. Black Boy says:

Thoughts on LDU ? If the Roos continue to stink he will play rather than mature in the “magoos” like Dumont did for 2 seasons, Nice score on the weekend in a losing side!!

    • Danners says:

I rate him, I believe he averaged around 130 odd in the TAC Cup couple years back. Has a year under the belt, should make good coin

  109. Dermin8r says:

After 2 rounds I'm thinking of changing Goldy (102, 66) to BigBoy (102, 104), I would appreciate your thoughts community.
(I went cheap on my rucks to start to see how G&G went early on, so my R1 is Goldy & R2 is English, I don't have the $$ to upgrade to Grundy or Gawn right now…unless I downgrade a MID to Rocky…)

    • Yeahnah says:

Too sideways, if you're hanging out for Gawn or Grundy to fall in price may as well just keep waiting

    • Russty_ says:

Ceglar's in there now too, will pinch hit at times.
Also Dermy, I think one bad game is too soon to punt Goldy, hopefully he bounces back this week for us.

    • Twilightingale says:

Either find the cash to go up to Gawn or Grundy
Go Lycett and bank some cash and trade in a player with a very low break even, Would suggest Phillips as a Lycett alternative, but not sure where Kreuzer is at in his recovery.

Makes no sense trading Goldy to Big Boy or any ruck who isn’t top 2 or a ruck with a very low break even

    • Dermin8r says:

Thanks fellas for talking me back off the ledge, I really didn't want to make any impulse trades this week, they're so valuable later on. I'll keep Goldy (and Heeney, who I was going to downgrade to Worpel which would give me the cash to turn Goldy into Grundy), but I will hold on both as Heeney should improve as should Goldy, I'll save my trades for when I really need them. Thanks again.

Like many here, struggling with Heeney and Mills. I'm going to hold Heeney and ride out a couple of potentially bad weeks for the long haul. Surely he's a top 6 forward and Horse has said he wants to give him mid time.

I think Mills is a different story and sadly we got suckered in by playing mid pre-season. Not sure he's getting in there in a hurry and even on the Swans website Mills is talking up playing back (maybe meaning he's stuck there). Replacement is tough as has to be a top 6 candidate but to me, they're not so obvious down back this year except for Lloyd, Laird and Whitfield. I'm really unsure after that. Top 6 backs anyone?

Also can't have every rookie. I don't have Parker but do you sacrifice a Petruccelle or Burgess for him? Think that's a waste. All rookies notoriously unreliable and Parker could score 30 this week

  111. Notorious says:

What are people’s thoughts on going Heeney and Greene out. Moore and Lloyd in

  112. Pete. says:

Anyone who is trading out Heeney is VERY silly.

  113. Ando says:

Get rid of Dusty or Dunkley first? Thinking Dunkley because The Dogs have so many decent MIDS i.e. Macrae, Libba, Bont, Wallis, McLean, and Daniel who all share around the possies.

  114. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Starting to think I need to bring Moore into my team.

He is definately best 22 and is getting better every game. Be a nice F4 with DPP. Appears to be moving freely and over injury concerns.

Obviously have to grab him now if I want to bring him in.

Then we hit a snag. How?

    1. Could trade Smith down to Moore
Dont like this option as Smith is avg 90 in backline.

    2. DPP setterfield trade Walsh.
Dont like this as Walsh is travelling well and will make as much as Moore.

    3. Trade Heeney to Boak/daniel/Dahl/Worpedo.
Dont like trading premos but this trade down allows me to go Balta to Moore for an injured heeney.
    Seems like the best option.
$20k short balta – moore to trade in Kelly.
$2k short to go setterfield – Moore to trafe in kelly.

Liking Daniel his D/E is awesome or boak who is in gr8 form. Dahl new lease of life.
    Some good options.

    • get rozee Trigg cheaper

    • Russty_ says:

Maybe don't trade Heeney if he's playing, if he's playing he'll bounce back. Smith is almost matching Laird and Walsh has plenty of money to make and points to score yet.
Balta could save his ass this week if he gets named.
Don't think Kelly will rise in price much unless he starts dropping 120's every week.
It'd be good to have Worp though, looks a good prospect.

  115. Tyruddanaut says:

Is a Henry trade worth it in light of the injury
    Edit: Heeney

    • Blueth says:

'Rolled his ankle' is quite vague but it should only really be a low grade ligament strain.
He's got an 8 da break so i'm backing him in against the blues.

    • Russty_ says:

Could do good things trading him out, get Kelly, Worpel etc, but if he's ok and starts scoring well again, we've wasted one.

      • Tyruddanaut says:

Yeh I’m wondering. I’ve already spent two on pierce, can I afford another? And if I do the trade I can get Moore for Setterfield. Is that worth 2 more trades? I’m coming 40,000 so far, shocking year, I need to take a risk or 2, but is this too risky

  116. Will says:

Caleb Daniel’s last 6 AFL games with a new role in defence has seen him score 100, 120, 75, 112, 104 and 120 for an average of 105.1. Sample size and role in the future is a worry but he could be a big p o d

    • Russty_ says:

He caught my attention too Will, you'd have to pick him as a definite top six forward this year though, even though he's a defender now. (top 6 scorer in your fwd line)

  117. Ando says:

Who should I replace Dusty with? I've only got $566K to play with and I've narrowed it down to the following options:

Brayshaw, Sloane, Crouch, and Kelly (would swing Danger into MID).

Not considering Rocky because Wines still has to come back and not sure if that will affect his output. Also, we know how injury prone he is.

  118. Sharkmove_King says:

Is Parker essential? Sure, I know how important cash generation is just like the next bloke but what if he starts laying some cables? That will put a massive dent in his appreciation.

He averaging like a jet , but don't forget, he has played Gold Coast & Essendon. His JLT numbers were terrible.

I recall a player for Hawthorn. Beau Muston was the name I think. 2 100's in the first 2 games and everyone traded him in. After that he was a spud and only made 100k

  119. Michael Rogers says:

Patch please help, I am a sad little freo supporter who brought Walters in at F3 thinking he would get more midfield time. I know I shouldn but as a single trade should I be looking to trade him for Tim Kelly.

  120. Daniel says:

Is it worth burning a trade and 50k to get Rozee or Davis-Uniacke in for Hately? Anyone know what his prospects are? Don't wanna burn the trade and the money but hate to miss money making opportunities early in the game.

    • Hawk131415 says:

Mate i had him from day one, but traded him to Lockhart , saved coin and got a scorer, albeit a shit one, not sure what either of them will do?

  121. Jaxon Briggs says:

Thoughts on trading brad crouch out and bringing rocky in?
Also contemplating trading out jordan de goey. I know he kicked 5 but only scored 82. Playing out of the square which doesn’t help his supercoach scoring

    • Streaker says:

Hold Crouch, Ollie Wines will be back soon and taking some of Rockies thunder. Also you waste 1 trade.

  122. WolfGang says:

Is the plan for League win different to Max points per round ??

I am in a cash league – winner take all !! It's been about 10 years – never won it – so it owes me !!
I have made no trades yet.
I have $243.7K in reserve – and in the past, I always run out of trades at the business end of the session.
I have all the main cash cow rookies except Parker.

BCK Hurn, Z Williams, B Smith, Collins, Duursma, Clark Ridley Burgess
Mid Macrae, Cripps, Coniglio, M Crouch, B Crouch, Walsh, Constable, Butters Gibbons, Atkins, Scott
    RK Grundy, Gawn Bines
Fwd Danger, Heeney, Kelly, Moore, Setterfield, Drew Balta, Petruccelle

I can do the following trades:

Gibbons to Parker (bringing Setterfield to Mid)

    1 B Crouch to Fyfe 28.7K
    2 B Crouch to Neale 39.5K
3 Ridley to Worpel 66.2K (Moore goes to the backline) or,

4 Ridley to Parker (Moore goes to the backline) Gibbons to Rockcliff (Setterfield remains Fwd) 56K
5 Ridley to Parker (Moore goes to the backline) Gibbons to Libba (Setterfield remains Fwd) 161.5K

    So, the questions are:
    a) Will Worpel be a top 6 to 8 Fwd and will upgrading B Couch to a Fyfe / Neale in the later rounds be a better long term League win ??
    b) Or, pull the trigger on B Couch now to a Premo Mid.
    c) Or just do the 1 trade to trade Gibbons to Parker (bringing Setterfield to Mid)
    d) Or are either of Rockcliff or Libba a reasonable'ish choice ??

Don't currently have either Rockcliff or Libba – I decided that they were too much of a risk (or are they ??).
Have gone conservative to have players playing – not with question marks over their fitness or injury prone.
Or is it time for a Mid priced Mid Field risk ??
Looking to start trading around rounds 7/8.

    Any suggestions appreciated – Thanks
