Lekdog was left alone this week, Patch clearly doesn’t know him very well but 43 minutes into his Daniel Rich podcast, Lek realised that Patch was trying to teach him a lesson on living alone without a crutch…

Lekdog said stuff that and got Barron Von Crow and Damo into the studio to answer community questions.

Have a listen and blame Patch for anything incorrect in the podcast.

  1. Ken says:

Thoughts on Tom mcdonald as last defence upgrade?

Have already got Lloyd, Yeo,simpson, Laird, Hurley

Or is there someone else I should consider?

    • Randomcliche2 says:

Solid back line. Consider Tmac if you want/need the swing and then take Howe. Oh, and Howe is sitting next to JJ in my backline…#inform.

    • DANGER1VDUSTY2 says:

That's the same back 6 as me (brought in McDonald last week for Sicily).

    • Lekdog says:

I like him, Witherden if you want a cheaper option

  2. nutsack says:

cant wait to listen once again 🙂

PS my girlfriend says Patchy sounds like he has a big tongue and balls as big as grapefruits. something about spilling more seed that Michael J Fox around a bird feeder… and then walked off.

  3. BigAl_15 says:

    Thoughts on what to do?

B: Lloyd, Yeo, Simpson, Hurley, Laird, Savage (Lynch, R Smith)
M: Titch, Cripps, Oliver, Gaff, Duncan, Neale, Coniglio, E Curnow (Ahern, Spargo, Ainsworth)
F: D Smith, McDonald, Gray, McLean, Heeney, Fritsch (L Ryan, Battle)

I currently have 2 trades left with 55k in the bank

  4. Richard says:

Thoughts on what trades to make.
Backs: Laird, Lloyd, Hurley, Yeo, Crisp, Webster

Midfield: Mitchell, Dangerfield, Oliver, Cripps, Merrett, Zorko, Ablett , Martin

    Ruck: Gawn, Martin

Forward: Gray, Heeney, Menegola, Mclean, Taranto, Billing’s.

I have 7 trades left and am playing in cash leagues. I am thinking of trading one of my defensive benches down to that sydney rook whose on the bubble and trading billings to devon smith which would still leave me with 50k. Is this a good trade or are there other priorities I have? Trades aren’t a problem as I have 7

    • Cobee Bear says:

Nice work conserving the trades. Smith is in good form and is a nice option. Hoff and Wingard provide you with DPP depending on who is on your bench so you might consider them instead. Patch also mentions Hawkins and Rhys Stanley if you're feeling creative.

The only other player I'd look at upgrading before Billings is Webster. I think Billings, as frustrating as he can be, can be held a bit longer and there are better defensive options you could move Webster onto first i.e. Simpson, Brayshaw or Witherden

    • Mark Fawcett says:

I'd be looking at probably Ablett as they'll most likely start resting him soon ready for Finals. What's your bench looking like though?

  5. Cobee Bear says:

How many trades are people sitting on? I have only 2 left with 246K to make upgrades closer to finals.

    • Derek says:

I have 4 and that is making me nervous.

I have a couple of players a really need to upgrade, Rocky and McGrath but right now I’m going to leave them in case there are more injuries.

    • AuroraBorealis?! says:

Only 2 left with 100k in the bank for upgrades, still two short of full premo

      • Cobee Bear says:

I'm also two short as I no longer count (and never should have) Caddy as a premo. Trying to hold out two more weeks and then I will upgrade guelfi and Caddy in one go.

    • SamuraiPizzaCat says:

Team is complete, 3 trades left to cover injuries

    • The Ranger says:

3 left after having to trade NIcNat and Sicily last week.
Holding for the inevitable injuries/general soreness now.

    • Randomcliche2 says:

I'm in the no trades club.

      • hedski says:

I'm the president of the club.

        • Cobee Bear says:

It's becoming an increasingly popular club

        • Randomcliche2 says:

Technically I joined this week, but really it was last week, I just didn't pull the trigger on Nic Nat. Which round did you establish this esteemed club hedski?

          • hedski says:

About 3 years ago, rejoined last week RC, traded Sic and Nic to Stef and Jezza Howe.
I kinda mozzed myself with my team name this year, don't tempt the sc gods, they will smash you.

            • Russty_ says:

How's your bench cover mate?…hope you get through to give it a good crack.

              • hedski says:

Its OK Russty, I have Mihocek, Austin, Ahern, Gyro, Phillips, McInerney, Guelfi and T.Smith.

                • Doc_1 says:

I’m well and truly in the club with NicNat pushing me over the line.
Sicily and Webster on the pine don’t help but thankfully heron got a game from know where and Keefe even gave me bench cover!!!

    • Ahmad rubas says:

      7 trades 300k

    • dognino says:

I’ve got 2 left with 146k in the bank. Hoping there’s no more LTIs in the next few weeks, have been full promo for the last few but there’s sideways trades going on every week for those LTI.

    • Da_Boysh says:

I have 3 trades no cash, full premo except for I guess Shaw..

    • Finnius says:

2 trades left, but full premo and happy with my side. Gonna be a tight next 5 weeks.

    • Danners says:

4 trades and $210k in the bank with full premo. Can't remember the last time I actually had this many trades at this time of the year

    • BrownlowBoy says:

7 prior to any this round.

    • Rivo says:

3 trades left with $27k. Full premo with rookie cover. Covering injuries from here.

    • Trades says:

      8 trades
      Rockliff to Cripps this week

      • Russty_ says:

8??? that's a lot, how you travelling rank-wise, and in you Leagues?

        • Trades says:

Cash league top 4 (highest points against too) ranked around 9500
          Started with Gray and Danger
Ablett, Fyfe were my only LTI that I can remember. I can't see trade history on app

        • Trades says:

Back up I've got Mihocek, Ahern,Spargo, Fritsch

    • KingWinter7 says:

      1 and 10k rip

    • Lazza says:

5 trades with $11k.., Full premo if you count Nank.

    • Mark Fawcett says:

3 trades and 140,700 to play with. No more trades now unless necessary. Lots of DPP links to help as well between all lines. Holding Rocky as my M8 for now.

  6. Laird Lad Donuts says:

Tom Hawkins or Tom McDonald for Sicily?

  7. KingWinter7 says:

I haven't posted my team in any threads this year but this is it and it's definitely not changing with 10k and 1 single trade left

DEF: Lloyd, Laird, Yeo, Simpson, Hurley, Hibberd (Rice, Redman)
MID: Mitchell, Oliver, Cripps, Danger, Kelly, JPK, Cogs, Dusty (Ahern, Giro, Dawson)
    RUC: Gawn, Grundy (Olango)
FWD: Heeney, McLean, Gray, Westhoff, Smith, Walters (Billings, Smith)

Works well with Billings as an F7/M9 emergency and F7 loophole option but unfortunately due to so many injury trades I am now stuck with Hibberd on field for the rest of the year

    • Cobee Bear says:

You could always throw out a hail mary sideways trade for Hibberd if it comes to a crunch finals game or GF

      • KingWinter7 says:

Yeah but with 10k can't get much

        • Cobee Bear says:

Could go a sneaky Tomlinson, Haynes or Jake Kelly. As I said, it would be a complete hail mary and only if it's a GF or you have nothing to lose in a crunch final

    • Filth Wizard says:

Maybe Bachar Houli when he returns drom injury.

    • TheGreatBozza says:

Hibberd to Aliir Aliir? Or has he gone up too much now

    • Mark Fawcett says:

Maybe look at Josh Walker, fairly consistent in the 80's over the past 5 weeks.

  8. MarkT says:

    Hi community,

6 trades and 250k in the bank. Savage and Billings are my weakest players. But I'd also love to get Macrae into my midfield, maybe sacking Beams or Crouch. Please advise.

DEF Lloyd, Simpson, Yeo, Hurley, Laird, Savage
MID Titch, Cripps, Danger, Oliver, Pendles, Coniglio, Crouch, Beams
    RUCK Gawn, Grundy
FWD D Smith, Westhoff, Gray, Heeney, Walters, Billings

    • Cobee Bear says:

With six trades and a solid line up you could take your time subject to your likelihood of making finals. Maybe just one trade at a time to balance unforeseen injuries

    • Russty_ says:

I'd get rid of Savage and Billings this week…and keep Beams and Crouch.

    • Danners says:

Upgrade someone on your bench so you have coverage. At this time of the year, it is a waste of trade if you are trading out playing premos

    • KingWinter7 says:

Yeah with that team, 6 trades and a warchest I'd look to upgrade bench options to loophole

  9. BadgerHoney7 says:

What is everyone going for captains this week?

Option 1: VC Danger v Lions and loophole him into Cripps v Gold Coast
Option 2: VC Danger v Lions and loophole him into Titch v Freo
Option 3: VC Cripps v Goal Coast and loophole him into Titch v Freo

    Help appreciated

PS: Maybe even Gawn v Adelaide

    • DavidC says:

Titch gets the Banfield tag this week, avoid.

      • Cobee Bear says:

Yeah that is what is putting me off a bit. Steele will probably go to Kelly, but he plays a softer tagging role compared to Banfield

    • Cobee Bear says:

I have a feeling Gawn will go big v Adelaide, so I'll be going Gawn (VC) and Titch (C). This combo rarely lets me down. That being said, I may go J Kelly (VC) vs Saints into Gawn.

    • Finnius says:

      I'm going option one badge

      • Randomcliche2 says:

No Titch and Gawn in your combo has me a little worried for you.

    • Rivo says:

      Gawn into Titch for me.

    • KingWinter7 says:

Danger into Gawn for mine I reckon

    • Ahmad rubas says:

I'm going Cripps to hopefully get us our 2nd win of the season VC into macrae back at Mars stadium with Bont back in as C

  10. Hannah says:

Any thoughts on my team? I’m planning on upgrading Mihocek to a premo but I don’t know which one. And should I upgrade Fritsch so that my team is full premo or should I save a trade?
    I have $139.9k and 3 trades.

DEF: Yeo, Laird, Hurley, TMac, Rance, Mihocek (Lynch, Taylor)
MID: Titch, Cripps, Danger, Oliver, Kelly, Crouch, Dusty, Rocky (Ahern, Giro, Sier)
    RUC: Gawn, Martin (Balta)
FWD: Breust, Gunston, McLean, Heeney, Buddy, Fritsch (Smith, Garlett)

    • Cobee Bear says:

Depending on whether or not you are guaranteed finals I'd let mihoceck make more money (still -8 BE). I'd just look at one trade: Fritsch > Menegola/Hoff/Wingard/De Goey

    • Derek says:

this time of year, hold onto the warm bodies

  11. Bobby says:

Who is more of a priority to trade first. Webster or Billings. Who is likely to average more from here on out from this round. Cheers community

  12. Jim says:

How many make finals in a 10 person league?

  13. Jupiter says:

Dangerfield is one of, if not, the best player in the AFL. So why isn’t he an automatic VC or C every week? Because his dopey coach generally puts him forward in the last quarter instead of leaving him in the midfield.

    • Russty_ says:

Think he played mostly mid last week, was getting a pretty good tag from Harmes which stunted his score.

      • Trades says:

I predict he'll spend a lot of time up forward against Brisbane. Game was on the line against demons

        • Randomcliche2 says:

I'd look closely at the ins/outs. There was a bit of structure change i.e. more forwards who came in last week.

          • Valens_FC says:

Danger was on 100 points at half time against the Dees and only went forward after the Harmes tag proved effective in the third quarter. Randomcliche is right – and the key structural change has been Menzel returning, which has reduced the need for Danger to go forward.

    • Marty says:

Tends to go forward in the last quarter when the game is for grabs.

  14. Audrey Horne says:

Does anyone know % ownership of De Goey? My final upgrade is Fritsch. I don’t have Gray but feel with the finals coming up I need a bit of a pod. Already have Heeney, Hoff, McLean, Walters and Billings.

    • dognino says:

7% ownership, I’ve got him, very up and down , just have to hope others in my team are up when he’s down .

      • Audrey Horne says:

Thanks. Thinking I need Gray and hope couple of my other pods can make the difference.

  15. Stacky23 says:

last fwd upgrade, have 470k to play with and Heeney,Smith,Walters,Mclean,De goey
Robby gray or a pod, particularly interested in Mitch wallis now that dahlhaus is out, back to back tons and a low score of 79
any other players i should look at and is wallis a legitimate option

  16. Danners says:

Great podcast lads! Having a little revival to finish off my season, with a bit of coin in the bank, I'm looking at maybe getting bench cover. My team as it stands:

DEF: Lloyd, Yeo, Simpson, Laird, Hurley, Webster (Austin, Keefe)
MID: Titch, Cripps, Danger, Zerrett, Gaff, Neale, Coniglio, Dusty (Ahern, Barry, T.Murphy)
    RUCK: Gawn, Goldy (Cameron)
FWD: Smith, Mundy, TMac, Gray, McLean, Heeney (T.Smith, Battle)
4 trades and $210k in the bank

Was maybe looking doing Austin to Brayshaw so I have Def/Mid cover, but not sure whether it is the best move
    Thoughts community?

    • BrownlowBoy says:

      I don't mind that.

You could easily just sit on that for another week incase of injuries.

    • Lekdog says:

Could go without a trade but my first thought (before seeing your last point) was a Def/Mid swing in Brayshaw. He'd likely sit mostly in defence but it means bringing in an o'connor type too…that's the place where you'll most benefit imo

      • Danners says:

Already got Murphy from North in my mids that can swing to Defence, so should be alright. Thanks guys

  17. Yeahnah says:

As my M9 Fyfe is still 3 weeks away, I'm thinking of trading him now. Can go to Cripps/Macrae/Gaff as M9 and have a premo emergency loophole option, or I can swing Ahern into the mids and bring in R.Gray/Hoff/Hawkins as F7, however with Battle as my F8 I can't loop the forwards score. Thoughts?

    • BrownlowBoy says:

      Show your team?

      • Yeahnah says:

Yeo, Simpson, Laird, Crisp, Howe, Hurley (Richards, Ridley)
Titch, Danger, Oliver, Zerrett, Kelly, Cogs, Kennedy, Dusty (Fyfe, Giro, J. Dawson)
        Gawn, Martin
        D. Smith, Gunston, Menegola, McLean, Heeney, Walters (Ahern, Battle)

        3 trades 20k in bank

    • Randomcliche2 says:

I really like the extra mid option with Dusty so hit and miss. Cripps for mine. Very strong team, well done.

      • Yeahnah says:

Thanks mate, with Oliver potentially injured might be forced to trade for an M9!

  18. TheGreatBozza says:

Any thoughts for this week? 6 trades, 10k bank

DEF – Laird, Simpson, Howe, Crisp, Yeo, Savage (Richards, Austin)
MID – Titch, Dusty, Danger, Kelly, Pendles, Cogs, Beams, Cripps (Ahern, Giro, Dawson)
    R – Gawn, Grundy (Hayes)
F – Heeney, Westhoff, Gray, D.Smith, Walters, McLean (De Goey, T.Smith)

Leaning towards Austin to O’Riordan, Richards to Short/Witherden, but then I lose my loop in austin.

I’d love to get Macrae but don’t want to drop any of my mids

  19. Derek says:

    Does LEK go for Carlton?

    • dontblushbaby says:

Yes, he has previously revealed this but will not take any blame for their demise

    • Lekdog says:

Haha I do mention the Blues a lot…especially when Patch is not around to stop me

  20. Rivo says:

3 trades and $27k with swing sets in place & a settled team. In the top 4 for leagues and ranked at 2k. Any need to trade this week or hold on to cover injuries????

    D: Lloyd, Yeo, Simpson, Laird, T-Mac, Brayshaw, (Mihocek, Ridley);
    M: Titch, Cripps, Danger, Oliver, Zerrett, Cogs, JPK, Dusty, (Ahern, Giro, J.Smith);
    R: Gawn, Grundy, (Olango);
    F: D.Smith, Mundy, Lambert, Gray, Heeney, Walters, (J.Higgins, N.Murphy)

    • Cobee Bear says:

You're in a far better position than me so take the advice with a grain of salt: hold!

      • Rivo says:

Thanks Cobee. Injuries have hurt a lot of teams, is yours is one of them?

        • Cobee Bear says:

Not injuries, I've just had a bad year. Started Hibberd and Billings, plus Goldy started slow and Sloane got injured early on. Also I started Gartlett and Venables as rookies who stank it up and got injured. I also traded Fritsch to Caddy during byes only for Fritsch to go ballistic and Caddy to become my new Billings! Been playing catch up ever since.

Quite happy with my team now, but I've left it far too late for rankings. I am a chance to win two of my leagues though so fingers crossed!

          • Rivo says:

Yeah that’s a tough start for sure. I only had Hibberd & Garlett from that lot & punted then mid season. Best of luck with your league finals.

    • Derek says:

      you're doing ok

  21. Swoopster says:

    Hi community,

Who to bring in for NicNat and last mid upgrade from Petracca? Can get anyone.
6 trades left, 338k in the kitty

Thinking Grundy & one off Gaff/Neale/Zerrett.
Or can wait one more week for Macrae?
Dusty & Cogs are options but want more of a POD, unless we think one of them will go ballistic.

DEF: Lloyd, Laird, Yeo, Simpson, Hurley, Ryan (Duman, Lynch)
MID: Mitchell, Oliver, Cripps, Danger, Kelly, Pendlebury, M Crouch, Petracca (E Phillips, J Garlett, Barry)
    RUC: Gawn, NicNat (Cameron)
FWD: Heeney, McLean, Gray, Franklin, Smith, Walters (Ahern, Powell)

    • Hawks says:

Grundy for NicNat & Dusty for Petracca.

Dusty is looking like getting back to his best, and peaking at the right end of the season.

  22. Richard says:

D: Yeo Simpson Laird Hurn Crisp Hurley ( Austin Lynch )
M: Mitchell Cripps Dangerfield Oliver Pendlebury Zorko Kennedy Rockliff ( Ahern Phillips Giro )
    R: Gawn Grundy
F: Smith Westhoff Mundy Mclean Heeny Billings ( Battie Powell )
    2 trades left $199,200 cash
    Ranked in the 4,000"s
Ride my luck with this team but overall best season i've had thanks to the community and the boys advice in charge of website.

    • Hawks says:

Nice team, hold trades for insurance purposes.

    • neil demons delght says:

The only weak link is Billings but you do have cover I would hold this week pending selections good luck great team NDD

  23. neil demons delght says:

At the dees training and Oliver went off early /.Overheard the trainers calling it a hip flexor and no chances will be taken.Good news was Hunt training ;but Clarry must be doubfull Hope not NDD

    • JohnDJ59 says:

Not good news for the Dees or my SC team, but if in doubt better to rest him than play and end up losing Clarry for even longer.

      • neil demons delght says:

Particularly playing the crows over there .Updated from the inner sanctum its only a twinge and may respond but no chances – 6 day turnaround and a definite no

    • Holty01 says:

It sux but i would not be surprised if he plays with a niggle if its not too bad. Melbourne cant afford not to take that risk as Adelaide is a must win for them. If they lose they will probably be out of the 8. Anyway, if he plays ill have the E on him just in case

  24. Finals says:

Who can tell me when finals start and how they work? I'm top of my league out of 18 teams. Thanks!

    • Holty01 says:

Finals start next weekend. They work exactly the same as the AFL finals. Top 8 qualify with 1vs4, 2vs3 and so on.

      • Finals says:

Thanks Holty so not this round coming the one after?

        • Russty_ says:

Yep correct mate, finals start round 20, if you win your first finals game and you're in the top 4, you get a week off too, gives you a chance to hold onto your trades.
Teams 5th to 8th on the ladder play sudden death first week.
If you lose your first match and you're top 4, you get a second chance the week after.

  25. Mark Fawcett says:

Possibly now thinking of trading Rocky to Pendlebury!!?? 3 trades left and 140 in the bank. Would leave me only 2 trades left though. Don't want to risk late outs in the coming weeks as I'm going for overall, currently 70th. Any thoughts?

    • Redpill5 says:

Congrats on the ranking pain. Pendles was my last trade in, like the pies run home. 👍🏼

    • Lekdog says:

Tough, I’d compare their runs home…I feel like 2 trades for 5 weeks is probably not enough though

    • Da_Boysh says:

you better hold and hope Rocky comes good

  26. Lekdog says:

Cripps. I love you. Pls cuddle me.

  27. mutu87 says:

Got 6 trades left with Rocky as M8
Trade him to J Kelly or J Macrea

  28. Michael says:

    6 trades left.
If you have neither do you bring in Josh Kelly or Dusty Martin. Thanx all. Rank Mid 200's.

    • Valens_FC says:

Tough one! Reckon Kelly just edges it. Saints and Carlton next couple of weeks looks juicy.

    • Marty says:

      • Michael says:

Thanx Lads yeah I reckon Kelly as well. Think I'll have to bring in Robbie Gray as well to go with Westhoff, Dev. Smith, Mundy, McLean and Heeney. Dusty and his Price is almost too good to pass up tho.

  29. Jacob says:

Is billings or taranto to devon smith worth a trade? Or should I hold both of them? Currently sitting on 7 trades and need to win the next league game in order to make top 4.

    • GB91 says:

Taranto to Smith for mine, depending on who your opponent has. Getting the double chance is surely worth a trade when you have so many in the bank? Plenty of us would kill for 7 trades.

    • Russty_ says:

Billings out for me…Taranto is in a good team heading for finals, and Billings is all over the place.

  30. GB91 says:

What's everyone's thoughts on my predicament?

3 trades left with 120k in the bank.

Do I use two trades to get McDonald in for Austin and Taylor? Will allow me to loop/cover a player in either the DEF or FWD. Have Rocky at M9 so I'd have cover for injuries if need be with 1 trade in hand for a LTI.

Alternative is to hold and hope that Taylor scores well enough to cover any late outs each week.

Likely to miss top 4 by around 1.2% so this weeks game isn't overly critical .

  31. Peter says:

Mcdonald Or Brayshaw for last defensive spot?

    • Russty_ says:

Brayshaw's in the better form of the 2, Melbourne have a tough run home though, Harris Andrews could be a good smokey option, back this week.

  32. Billobill says:

One premo mid to upgrade Ahern. Kelly or Macrae or other?

  33. Terrence says:

Howdy partners, i havnt been here in a couple of weeks, cant help but notice the wow/66 absence, banned? looks like business as usual

  34. Mark Fawcett says:

What to do if going for overall ranking guys? Rocky to Pendlebury and 2 trades left and 27,900 or hold Rocky and have 3 trades and 140,700 left?
