Hooray! The bye weeks are finally done with! That means we can get back to regularly scheduled program, although we will potentially have issues such as Adam Treloar and Harris Andrews to deal with. Some of you will be nearing your side hitting its final form, your “Golden Frieza” if you will, while others may be back on their 3rd or 4th forms, either way, hopefully there’s something in here to help you out this week!

Around the Grounds

Carlton fell short of getting their 2nd win of the year, losing 79-59 to Collingwood on Sunday. Paddy Dow had 20 disposals, 2 marks and 4 tackles for 74 SCPoints, Cam O’Shea had a ‘mare of a game, finishing with 10 disposals and 9 clangers for just 8 SCPoints. Jarrod Garlett had 10 disposals, 4 marks and 2 tackles for 32 SCPoints and Lochie O’Brien had 9 disposals, 5 marks and 3 tackles for 34 SCPoints.

After a 201-71 demolition in Round 1 of the VFL season the Northern Blues got a bit of revenge on Collingwood defeating them 76-72 on Sunday. Matt Shaw had 19 disposals, 7 marks and 6 rebound 50’s and Jarrod Pickett kicked 3 goals with 17 disposals, 6 marks and 2 tackles

A close one for the Pies, but they took home the win, defeating Carlton 79-59. Josh Daicos had 16 disposals and 3 marks for 43 SCPoints, Flynn Appleby finished with 12 disposals and 3 marks for 46 SCPoints and Brody Mihocek had 8 disposals, 6 marks, 4 tackles and a goal for 63 SCPoints. Jaidyn Stephenson again did his damage in front of goal, booting 3 with 8 disposals and 5 marks for 70 SCPoints. His BE is 30 this week with a 5-round average of 67.8 SCPoints, so should still make a bit more money this week.

A narrow loss for Collingwood in Round 12 of the VFL season, losing to the Northern Blues 76-72. Sam Murray had 28 disposals, 9 marks, 5 inside 50’s and 4 rebound 50’s while Braydon Sier also had 28 disposals with 3 marks, 9 tackles, 7 inside 50’s and 2 behinds. Rupert Wills had 27 disposals, 2 marks and 8 tackles and Ben Crocker booted 5.2 with 17 disposals and 8 marks.

Essendon got a quality win on Thursday, defeating West Coast 80-52. Mason Redman had 17 disposals and 8 marks for 73 SCPoints and Matt Guelfi had 13 disposals, 1 goal and 6 tackles for 63 SCPoints. His BE is 51 this week, so it might be getting near the end of his time, but he’ll hold for another week or two if you have other priorities first.

Essendon got a 65-51 win over the Box Hill Hawks in Round 12 of the VFL season. Jordan Ridley had 29 disposals, 7 marks and 6 rebound 50’s while Dylan Clarke had 24 disposals, 3 marks and 6 tackles. Aaron Francis finished with 22 disposals, 10 marks and 3 rebound 50’s.

The Hawks took a bit of time to get going, but eventually had a fairly easy 96-43 win against the Gold Coast Suns. They did not have any rookie priced players on field however.

The Box Hill Hawks lost to Essendon 65-51 in the VFL on Sunday. James Cousins had 25 disposals, 5 marks and 4 tackles, Teia Miles had 25 disposals, 9 marks and 4 each of inside and rebound 50’s and David Mirra had 19 disposals, 5 marks and 3 rebound 50’s.

The Demons didn’t make enough use of their opportunities last Friday, losing 75-65 to Port Adelaide. Bayley Fritsch had 13 disposals, 5 marks and 5 tackles for 76 SCPoints. His 3 round average is currently at 90.7 SCPoints with a BE of 96, he’s probably the final guy you’d look to upgrade based on current form. Tim Smith returned to the side and had 7 disposals, 6 tackles and a goal for 68 SCPoints and Joel Smith had 6 disposals, 2 marks and 2 tackles for 34 SCPoints.

The Casey Demons had a big win in the VFL, defeating Coburg 108-31. Dion Johnstone had 19 disposals, 1 mark and 4 tackles while Charlie Spargo had 19 disposals, 1 mark and 9 tackles. Sam Weidman did most of the damage for the Demons in this one, booting 7 goals with 19 disposals, 9 marks, 3 tackles and 5 hitouts.

North Melbourne

A cracker of a match and North Melbourne pulled out a late victory, defeating the Western Bulldogs 77-75. Paul Ahern had 16 disposals and 2 clearances for 49 SCPoints and Thomas Murphy had 10 disposals, 3 marks and 3 tackles for 58 SCPoints.

North Melbourne lost to Footscray in the VFL, being defeated 101-60. Mitchell Hibberd had 25 disposals, 2 marks, 2 tackles and 14 rebound 50’s, while Will Walker kicked 2.1 with 19 disposals, 6 marks and 6 tackles. Luke Davies-Uniacke had 18 disposals, 3 marks and 4 tackles with 6 inside 50’s.

Western Bulldogs

The Bulldogs were piped in the dying seconds of their match against North Melbourne, losing 77-75 last Saturday night. Billy Gowers had a HUGE game with 22 disposals, 12 marks, 9 inside 50’s and 3 goals for 126 SCPoints. Patrick Lipinksi had 16 disposals, 3 marks and 1 tackle for 59 SCPoints, Ed Richards had 13 disposals, 2 marks and a goal for 64 SCPoints and Aaron Naughton played his first game since round 8 and had 10 disposals, 3 marks and 2 goals for 70 SCPoints. Footscray defeated North Melbourne 101-60 in Round 12 of the VFL season. Fergus Greene had 21 disposals, 10 marks, 4 tackles and kicked 2.3 for the game while Kieran Collins continued his return from injury and had 14 disposals, 5 marks and 4 inside 50’s.

 South Australia

Port Adelaide

Port Adelaide pushed their top 4 aspirations closer to happening with a 75-65 win over Melbourne on Friday night at Adelaide Oval. Riley Bonner had his expected Riley Bonner game with 16 disposals and 4 marks for 70 SCPoints. He’s still left in 11% of teams, but his BE is 37, he was a quality bye week fill-in, but now that’s over he’ll be one you’d look to replace soon I would think. Todd Marshall also played and he had 9 disposals, 3 marks and 3 tackles for 47 SCPoints.

The Port Adelaide Magpies had a bye this week due to the split week Round 12.

Western Australia

West Coast

Was probably a bit too early in the week for the Eagles, who lost last Thursday 80-52 to Essendon.  Tom Cole had 13 disposals, 1 mark and 3 tackles for 50 SCPoints, Willie Rioli had 9 disposals, 2 marks, 3 tackles and a goal for 41 SCPoints, Liam Ryan had 7 disposals and 3 marks for 31 SCPoints, Jackson Nelson had 6 disposals and 3 marks for 34 SCPoints and finally Jake Waterman finished with 6 disposals and 3 marks for 31 SCPoints.

Cole is facing a BE of 67 this week and is coming off a 5-round average of 59, so there is definite potential for him to lose some cash from his $288,500 price tag. Waterman lost $22,400 this week and has a BE of 84, so again, another that will look to lose cash this week, with his 3 round average sitting at a lowly 38.7 SCPoints.

Over in the WAFL, East Perth lost to Claremont 95-63. Brayden Ainsworth kicked 3 goals with 22 disposals, 6 marks and 6 tackles and Jack Petruccelle kicked 1.1 with 13 disposals, 3 marks and 2 tackles.

New South Wales

The Giants just managed to stay one step ahead of Brisbane for most of the game last Saturday, defeating the Lions 109-82. Jeremy Finlayson returned and had 9 disposals, 2 mark, 4 rebound 50’s and a goal for 46 SCPoints. Surprisingly (to me at least) he’s still in 16% of teams, with a BE of 83 this week it’s time to move him on. Zac Langdon had 13 disposals, 4 marks and a goal for 64 SCPoints and Sam Taylor had 8 disposals, 1 mark and 1 tackle for 46 SCPoints.

The UWS Giants defeated Brisbane 146-111 in Round 12 of the NEAFL. Harry Perryman kicked 4 goals with 32 disposals, 4 marks and 7 tackles, Nick Shipley had 27 disposals, 4 tackles and 3 rebound 50’s and Lachlan Keeffe kicked 2 goals with 2 goals, 5 marks, 2 tackles and 12 hitouts. Zach Sproule kicked 3.3 with 16 disposals, 5 marks and 6 tackles and Brent Daniels kicked 2 goals with 15 disposals, 2 tackles and 4 inside 50’s.

Another loss for Brisbane last Saturday, this time losing 109-82 to the GWS Giants. Zac Bailey had 12 disposals and 2 marks for 47 SCPoints, Cameron Rayner had 10 disposals and 4 marks for 25 SCPoints and Oscar McInerney finished with 8 disposals, 1 goal, 2 tackles and 14 hitouts for 48 SCPoints.

Brisbane lost to the UWS Giants in the NEAFL, going down 146-111. Jacob Allison kicked 1.1 with 24 disposals, 7 marks and 3 tackles, Corey Lyons had 24 disposals, 8 marks, 6 tackles and kicked 1.1 and Mitchell Hinge had 19 disposals, 6 marks and 3 rebound 50’s.

Gold Coast

A bit of a messy game for the Suns, kicking 5.13 and losing 96-43 to Hawthorn last Saturday. Nic Holman had 9 disposals and 6 tackles for 45 SCPoints, his BE is 85 this week of a 3-round average of 62, he’s done his job as a guy we can play in all 3 bye-rounds, but now that that is done it’s time to say sayonara to him. Jacob Dawson had 11 disposals and 2 marks for 51 SCPoints and Charlie Ballard had 10 disposals and a mark for 43 SCPoints.

In the NEAFL the Suns lost to Sydney Uni 81-75. Will Brodie led the team with 32 disposals, 3 marks and 6 tackles, Brayden Crossley had 25 disposals, 9 marks, 5 tackles, 40 hitouts and kicked 1.2 and Brad Scheer kicked 2.2 with 23 disposals, 4 marks and 11 tackles.

  1. Pat Kerr – $191,500 – 47.2 SCPoints

Well done again Barron!

Redman out for a few weeks..

Cue the "riddler"

Wrong price and average on Ahern, played his third game on the weekend gone

This is also applicable to the pokemon

Thanks Barron. Still gold even at this stage of the season.

Need one more downgrade for the cash to upgrade Richards to Lloyd.. Was gonna go Redman until he hurt himself, is Joel Smith worth the punt? Him or Battle up forward who's the safer option?

Hey NL, I think Smith has the ability to go bigger than Battle, but also smaller, I brought Smith in a week early last week and he contributed to my lowest score for the 3 bye rounds lol, a steaming pile of 34 points.
Andrews getting knocked out didn't help either, Battle has been more consistent in his 2 games averaging 70 but he does play for Stkilda!

I also got Smith last week.

Dees are looking for someone to fill Levers role. Heard an interview with Lever who said they would be trying a few players over the next few weeks, and JSmith was one of the names he mentioned. His role might be different this week if they are trying him.

I’d back battle in mate. Like Russty said, J smith will drop 34’s you don’t need that as cover

You could look at Wilson from Crows. Much cheaper with DPP

Will he be in the side with all the senior Crows coming back though Derek? Surely not…

Cheers guys, the only negative screaming at me is Battle does play for St.Kilda. But Smiths 34 was putrid and hes 50k more expensive. Battle JUST at this stage

Joel Smith scored 34 on the weekend.

Jonathon Patton anyone? Last time no Cameron he actually played well.

Tough month ahead. F7 loop if you're feeling creative but otherwise there are better options

Thanks Bazza
