Quinten Tarantino’s Hateful Eight was a movie about eight nasty people doing rather nasty things to each other. I think. I never actually saw the film, mind you, but heard (and assumed from the title… alright it was mostly the title) that it was about eight bad people.
This week, Lekdog and Patch bring you the Grateful Eight, the eight players on each line who will do good things for your team and make you once again GRATEFUL that you have them in your side and greatful again that you play this great game of Supercoach.
We also talk about Adam Treloar and Harris Andrews, discuss rookies and also have a yarn about how many trades we each have left.
Most importantly, however, we talk about the beatiful bastard who walk on out in sleeves to do battle each and every week, and call the community to arms to help assemble the world’s greatest sleeve database.
There is also shouting, because of course there is.
Hey Community, would love some thoughts and feedback on my team post byes.
B – Yeo, Laird, Simpson, Ryan, Savage, Richards (Austin, Keeffe)
M – Fyfe, Mitchell, Danger, Cripps, Parker, Cogs, Merrett, Dusty (Ahern, Phillips, Giro)
R – Gawn, Martin (Cameron)
F – Heeney, Sicily, Gray, Smith, Walters, McLean (T.Smith, Guelfi)
10 trades, $120k. Ranked 2500.
Trades I'm considering are:
A) Guelfi to Battle & Austin to Crisp/TMac/Lloyd
B) Richards to Redman & Austin to Crisp/TMac/Lloyd
Crisp, TMac or Lloyd for last upgrade?
Option B – With Lloyd
Cheers Wilko. Was leaning Crisp but Lloyd has a higher ceiling
Like option B NL, obviously if Redman comes up, he looks a good player, very Oliver-like, and Austin to whoever you like. Also it minimizes your Saints players lol.
You're in a good position for a strong finish to the year mate..well done.
P.S I like Guelfi as a backup keeper for the rest of the year, also a good player.
Thanks mate. Minimising Saints players isn't a bad idea actually 🙂
Redman cooked, do I get Battle in if it means I can get Llloyd?
Injuries through the season were numerous and now at full premo with only 4 trades left so will struggle from here on. My mistake not to follow the pack and start with Cripps was costly. Also not getting in Lloyd has made a big difference. Dropped way behind in overall rank now so will probably be around the top 1000 at season's end. It's a bit like The Voice after the blinds now; not as interesting and my team has no chance of winning. It's all about grinding it out and winning leagues. Hope to get Lloyd and Cripps for finals unless i have plenty of injuries. Brodie was another player I should have started with. Thanks for the season everyone. Good luck in all your cash leagues and to those people still a chance in overall rankings. Should be interesting next season and many people will wonder whether to start with Danger next year.
My team finished as:
Def: Laird, Yeo, Sicily; Simpson, Ryan, Hurley
Mids: Fyfe, Mitchell, Oliver, Danger, Crouch, Zerrett, Cogs, Wingard
Rucks: Gawn, Martin
Fwds: McDonald, Heeney, Gray, McLean, Menegola, D Smith
Not a bad team on paper, Marty. With a bit of luck on the injury front you can still do some damage.
Danger averaging 113 so far so his year isn't a total write off. Be more interested to see how many start Dusty
What about Luke Parker? 3 Trades left, full premium side yet still holding him.
Don't have Danger or Higgins…
Flicked him last week for Kelly. Cathartic experience, highly recommended…
Got to hold with only 3 trades.
Glory to the brave – flick him and get an absolute machine, start racking up the league wins
Final team 5 trades left and 44k in the bank, wish me luck.
Def: Laird, Sicily, Yeo, Simpson, Howe, Hurley (Ridley, Redman)
Mids: Fyfe, Titch, Cripps, Oliver, Danger, J Selwood, Cogs, Dusty (Ahern, Spargo, Giro)
Rucks: Gawn, Martin (Olango)
Fwds: Gray, Heeney Buddy, McLean, D Smith, Walters (Guelfi, Smith)
Wish I hadn’t heard the first 6 mins 😬 Glad I hung in there for the rest. Not too many surprises cept for Lekdogs furphies… Rich and Wallis!!
Was a little confused about the Goldstein discussion … seemed to be saying he would poll better than most but not quite catch Gawn and Grundy … ‘catching’ suggests outperforming but not besting the ‘averages’ rather than comparing totals from now-on-in. 🤔 Which was it Lekdog?
I'm bringing Rich in, convinced.
Basically I was saying Goldy will jump everyone above him except Grundy and Gawn.
Thoughts on Shuey as an M8/9 loop with Rocky? At 362k, he is a bargain if he can regain some form. It’s very POD but had a shocking year so feel like throwing a bit of caution to the wind
I reckon, your onto to something there, I’m waiting for his price to bottom out, target him in a couple of weeks hopefully he finds some form the next two weeks!
I've done it tommy, now don't mention it again lol he's a gift at that price
Hmmm….I'm considering burning my second last trade on another bargain…the perennial #2.
amazing
Need to trade out 2 of these 4 rookies which ones should I trade out?
Doedee Austin rice cole
Doedee, Cole
With Treloar gonski who from the Pies gets his gig in the midfield? I'm thinking De Goey or someone like Phillips.
Phillips no good. Go De Goey.
I'd say De Goey spends more time in the guts. Need someone explosive like Treloar.
Can also see Murray coming in and someone like Maynard rolling through the guts
Hopefully they actually play Pendles as a free running mid
Hold or trade? 7 trades & just $2k. One player off full premium.
1. Austin & Higgins to Hurley & P.Wilson?
2. Hold & wait for cash gen?
So I gather it’s a hold this week. Austin at D6 right now, with Mihocek and Ridley on the pine.
A few people here with a good premo team but very few trades. I am also one of those. We all know that we can’t go any further and that the end will come quickly. (Treloar was my last upgrade so it didn’t even last a week!)
If you have balanced your trades and agrression, even if you are not quite full premo yet, you are may well come home with a wet sail. There are plenty of us who went for it and will fall backwards as injury decimates us.
For me, have never been as high up, and have a good side right now. It looks amazingly like Marty and Will above, who also look quite good. When you are in that rarefied air fit the first time, you do lose patience with injuries and have been a bit quick to trade out quality rookies in the quest for full premo.
Anyway, here’s hoping for a few good weeks before the inevitable happens. Cheers everyone. See you next season
I’m not backing out just yet. I can either bring in a player like Saad or Webster in a few, but am using an extra trade for Crisp or TMac. Any injury lasting for 2 weeks or less, I can handle and I can deal with up to three season ending injuries with 2 trades left. Sometimes luck is a factor and I feel lucky
Did the Gray trade pan out ok Keen You got him early cheers NDD
Thanks Neil. That was ok. Started off brilliantly and I held hopes of him being unobtainable after his bye, but that didn’t come off. Going early on Doedee to Hurley was awful. Trying Lobb recently as a POD failed, as has bringing in Kreuzer for Nank. Had two dips at Crouch for not much. Bringing in Treloar this week is just plain bad luck.
Holding my own in some leagues, including a strong one with you and a few regulars in A Graders.
You look in good shape Neil, and I think you will go past me by season end
Mid-season poll time.
I’m just asking a few questions on the game and what people are thinking of it at the moment. It’s greatly appreciated if you do answer.
1: What position do you think is the most important for team sucess this year?
2: If Brownlow was polled now, who do you think would win? And who is your prediction going on for the rest of the season
3; Who has been your favorite player to watch?
4: Finally, do you think there should be any rule changes; small or large?
1. A mobile ruckman who can take a contested mark, this helps clear the ball out of increasingly congested defensive lines and transition the ball to sppediy half backers
2. Tightest race in recent times but probably Titch. My prediction for the rest of the season is: Brodie Grundy (Bring back the ruckman)!!
3. Favorite player to watch has been Charlie Cameron until he was injured.
4. I don't want to see changes, but if there were I like the idea of set starting positions with at least one pair starting in each 50 to ease congestion. But honestly I love the game and for every bad game there is normally a brilliant one to follow.
I think teams are better at playing to their strengths, so each team structure is a bit different based on that. Asa Collingwood man, finally having people who can hit targets in the forward line has meant we can play through the corridor a bit more.
Gawn and Grundy have not only been the best SC players this year, they could both well be up in Brownlow calculations. From the midfield, I think Gaff
If Higgins keeps playing the way he is, he might strike at the heart of all of us who have labelled him burn man, and win it.
Liam Ryan in the small sample size has been awesome to watch. He’s the sort of player you can go to the footy just to watch. Went to my one and only game this year and saw Curnow and Cripps play outstanding games in a losing side. Both great to watch. Selwood just continues to play a great combative brand of footy. If it wasn’t for the knock on him with high free kicks, we would be looking at an all time great.
For the game, the Cameron effort really makes you think about the order off rule. Or at least go back to a sub.
Make it more interesting 19TH and 20 th would eliminate congestion as they tire.
1. A forward who can either change positions or run more territory up the ground. Seems to be the trend this year. Think of TMac, Gray, etc.
2. Titch …watch Oliver gain more points
3. Buddy when he is on
4. Definitely needs to be a tweak to the player that goes for the ball and someone purposely flies over the top of him to get a free. Protect the ball player.
Agree with number four, person getting first to the ball is being penalised too often
1. Tough question, Mr 350games, who steps up when its crunch time; or Mr Tribunal for awesome intercept marking; but no its Mr Brownlow for his fast hands and doses of leather poisoning.
2. Titch and Fyfe.
3. Mr Tribunal, gives opposition such helpful advice
4. I think the taking out of the legs needs some better interpretation, if you get the ball first you shouldn't be penalised for some lumbering lumberjackass falling over you. Penalise them for going in feet first for sure, but not for going in head first and hard.
1. Ruck
2. S. Higgins / S. Higgins
3. J. Caddy
4. Drastically cut back interchange; umpire holding the ball and bounces like they were in the 1980s.
Guys, so traded Andrews in this week 🤦🏼♂️
JJK the week before 46 an injured
So I’m thinking Andrews to possibly Jonas ?
Then upgrade JJK to who ever I dam want ?
Helppppppp ??
Pull the tigger, trade em both. Jonas and anyone sounds good
Pulling the trigger Lek dog going to
Go for de goey or Gunston ?
as my calculations Where miss leading
Go crazy, go De Goey!
Bloody going for it De goey it is
Leaves me 9 trades full premo 20k
Let jesus take the wheel!
Treloar is out for pretty much the rest of the season which means De Goey will probably be in the thick of it from here on out which will be good.
Hey Jeff, agree mate I think De Goey will be getting plenty of it from here on in, might make him my last upgrade. YOLO indeed! 🙂
yo
lo
I have nine trades left. How many trades do you have left?
5
Also 9 but no D6 & Treloar to deal with
9 with Taranto, Witherden and Wingard onfield.
7 no rooks on field.
Walters at F6, cogs at m8.
Probably go cogs – mccrae in a few weeks come SC finals time.
Nice spot to be in Trig
👍
Only 5. 7 if I reverse my trades
12 before trades 2 trades this week to complete my team bringing in yeo and McLean
4 with full premo (and good players) after trading treloar this week
8 after this week. 1 more upgrade to go (Tim Smith)
12 left before trades.
Bringing in Kelly and either Grundy or Simpson this week.. the one that I don’t trade comes in next week for via ZGL.
12 but 10 by start of round
2
1 trade left , however i am full premo with Wingard floating as a f7/m9
i was ranked 130 pre bye and had been hit by carnage during the bye rds so had to use all 9 trades just to field 18 players every week and hold onto a good ranking , currently ranked at 254 but with 9 weeks to go it will be hard to hold
8 trades after going full premo this week
11 and $314,300 in the kitty
Thoughts on next move guys?
Happy to leave as is for next couple of weeks.
5 trades lefts –
B: Lloyd Yeo Laird Simpson Ryan Savage …. Keeffe Redman
M: Fyfe Mitchell Dangerfield Cripps Bontempelli JP Kennedy Whitfield Martin …. Brodie Ahern J Smith
R: Grundy Gawn …. OIango
F: Sicily Franklin Smith Walters McLean Wingard …. Ryan T Smith
I'd be happy with that, Dice. If trades are still good in a few weeks then maybe look at better options for Savage and Whitfield.
Team looks fine. You will probably need those trades later but you could get Heeney by trading Savage swing Sicily back.
great minds think alike pod
If you can afford it, Ryan to Billings could be very handy
8 trades left and 150k in back, team looks like
Laird,Lloyd,Yeo,Simpson,Crisp,Savage (austin,murphy)
Fyfe,Mitchell,Kelly,Cripps,Higgins,Parker,Martin,Rockliff (ahern,mutch,giro)
Gawn,Naitanui (olango)
Heeney,Mclean,Smith,Walters,Sicily,Fritsch (guelfi,ryan)
Unsure on last fwd premo as everyone in my league has gray and want something different, also should i hold rockliff on field for a few weeks and bring macrae back in after initial price drop or bring in an immediate premo
Thoughts?
TMac if you can afford him. Westhoff too is having a great year.
Not a Rocky fanboy so I'd say trade, but if can't make a decent improvement on him then I;d just hold and wait for Macrae
Depends on how much $$$ you have. Thinking you are one gun mid short. Perhaps Whitfield or if Martin doesn't perform for Kelly J or Oliver.
hey guys..always get to this point of year and struggle. any ideas re my team would be greatly appreciated
backs. simpson laird yeo hurn webster hibberd..,.austin keefe
mids macrae fyfe mitchell oliver danger cripps coniglio martin… ahern giro shipley
ruck gawn nankervis olango
forwards heeney sicily gray smith spargo.. t smith battle
havent used any trades yet this week with 11 trades in the bank along with $98k..
im assuming macrae needs to go.. for who though?
and either downgrade spargo to redman with swing..
or upgrade hibberd from money i get back from Macrae..
any help would be awesome guys.
thank you in advance
Hey Matt – I think the priority has to be on doing your final upgrade (or two, looks like one short?) up FWD before thinking about trading Hibberd (who is after all at least fit and playing). Whilst trading Macrae can be justified, as you've already held him for one week it may be worth waiting for some more news before pulling the pin on him. I know a few people who held J Kelly for 6 weeks – painful but they now have a nice point of difference. If Macrae is out for another 2-3 then definitely I think a small downgrade to a $500kish player coupled with an upgrade up forward is the right move.
Your rookies are not really ripe for culling at the moment so you might need a little bit of patience for a couple of weeks, but agree if Spargo is not selected again he may be worth cashing in and at least building the war chest so you can make an upgrade once T Smith or one of the other rookies appreciates a bit more.
hey mate,
everything your saying does make sense. can i make the downgrade on spargo after the thursday night game has started?
wasnt sure whether all trades had to be done before thur night game starts.
but i hear ya.. will wait for more news on macrae and prob bank a few bucks before upgrades.. cheers mate
Hi Matt yes as long as your downgrade doesn't involve a Richmond or Sydney player and also as long as you don't need to move a player from those teams (i.e. from bench to onfield or from FWD to MID) as part of the downgrade you can do it after Thursday night's game. Just remember that trades done after the first game have started can't be reversed.
I think Randomcliche2's idea below is pretty good too……. McLean definitely getting to bargain status now.
Yeh soz. Already got mclean i just left him out by accident.
Ok gotchya.. wanna bring in lloyd i think but not for a few weeks.
Gonna check on spargo and just bank cash this week i think.
However if macrae is out for 2 pr 3 more. Bring in who? Kelly good but against nobody..
Looking at your mids (mostly high ownership picks), you've probably got an opportunity to do something a bit different and see if a low ownership POD can help push you up the rankings. The suggestion below of Macrae to Pendles then Spargo up to Menegola ticks that box I reckon.
I've had Luke Parker since the start of the season (hasn't really worked out but he's had some good weeks here and there) and recently traded Ablett in purely because of his low ownership and my view that the Cats will continue building into the back half of the season. With popular picks like Danger and Martin not at their usual level it is a season for getting the right midfield POD. Macrae was it up until his injury, just have to figure out who it will be from here on in.
Agree better to leave the Hibberd to Lloyd one until last….. once you've done that forward upgrade. Good luck with your upcoming decisions!
I'm counting 1 short in forward line as well (5 onfield 2 bench). So get a 6th player in there, it will help your team. I really like the idea of Macrae to Pendles, cash accretive for no loss of points going forward. Then you can go spargo to menegola, or wait a week or two and pick up Mclean cheap.
Been saving my last midfield spot for Danger.. but Oliver sure is tempting. who averages more for the rest of the year community? Will Danger be back to his best after the bye?
Also, Crisp or Webster when hes back?
Oliver is my gut feel. Playing a more supercoach friendly role as a pure midfielder with a balance of inside and outside ball, whereas Danger seems to spending large amounts of time up forward which limits his ability to consistently impact games.
Agree. Melbourne have three easy games coming up.
Any trade advice?
I've got 8 trades left and $107k… thinking of just holding and then downgrading T.Smith to $102k DEF/FWD loophole and Austin up to Hurley once he is ready.. Hurley should go back to 100 average once Ambrose is back this week. Also eyeing off a fallen Andrews once his 22 is rolled out of his average.
Aiming to trade Sicily forward once I strike another forward injury, think JJK is perfect for F7 loophole end of season and he's R23 match up makes me lick my lips (v Brisbane)
Is it better to aim for a D7 loophole (with Savage) or an M9 loophole (with Whitfield/Parker)?
DEF:
Sicily, Yeo, Laird, Simpson, Savage, Austin (Redman, Keefe)
MID:
Fyfe, Mitchell, Kelly, Oliver, Dangerfield, Cripps, Parker, Whitfield (Phillips, Ahern, Barry)
RUCK:
Grundy, Gawn (Cameron)
FWD:
Heeney, Menegola, Buddy, Mclean, Smith, Mundy (JJK, Smith)
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the cheapest Fwd/def DPP is 123,900
Guelfi -> J Kelly via heeney swing
Or
Rice -> yeo
Both have low break evens so looking to get one in this week.
As good as Josh Kelly has been these past two weeks it has come against GC and Brisbane. Not saying he's not an out and out gun, but don't expect 140's from here on out. GWS have Hawks, WC, Rich, Port over the next month
Yeo for mine
I’m assuming you’ll get both at some point. You’ll probably save a few dollars if you get Kelly this week and Yeo later on. Kelly is also more likely to outscore Yeo.
But both predictions could go the other way, So maybe look at which rookie will be best to hold for a week or 2.
Go Yeo mate. J Kelly is tempting, but Yeo is crucial to nail your back line. Just my take mate.
Yeo. Kelly will son be tagged by Howe/Hutchings.
Im Full Premo with 8 Trades but I feel like my midfield is quite weak
Currently going with- Danger, Fyfe, Titch, Oliver, Bont who are all solid, but m 6-8 are, Dusty, Crouch and Parker.
Do I look to trade one of those 3 to a Cripps/ Kelly? If I did it would cost 2 trades as only have 45 K in bank.
What should I do?
Mids are fine mate. All 8 can go big on any day.
I have Crouch and am optimistic he'll be fresher after the bye and benefit from Sloane returning. And, Dusty may also have got over whatever niggling injury he has carried, and may also benefit from the return of D Prestia. I think you can afford to conserve trades and take a wait and see approach
Parker the one to go out of that bunch but I'd wait and give him another week or 2 before anything
After treloar went the week after heaps brought him in…. if playing league hold until you need to make the trade should be considered. I'm lookimg at that option with macrae
I have Parker and Dusty too mate. Both can explode at anytime so unless they're injured I'll be holding. Feel your frustration though!
Cheers for your Replies lads, Yeah think ill hold for now much appreciated xx
Hi guys. One to get for full premo. Decided to go the Bud. Question is who is to be the rookie I trade?
T.Smith or Guelfi. One has to go to make room for Buddy
This will leave me with 6 trades, so who ever i leave in my team is my finales forward cover most likely
Smith the less likely to hold his spot until finals
Very tough one. Both have BE's around the 50 mark. Guelfi is worth more. If you need fast cash then punt Guelfi. However, T Smith's JS is questionable so if money is no issue, then perhaps get rid of him. Good luck mate!
Guelfi
one all so far.
If money is no issue Smith
Guelfi fosho
Bont, Higgins or Neale for Treloar?
Neale for mine
Higgins looking good.
Neale
Neale may score more but Higgins more consistent I reckon
Last week someone said neales avg with walters is quiet low…. has he found form to overcome that?
Higgins for the POD
5 trades left, get stef martin and be full premo with 1 trade or use two trades and get grundy in but only have 3 trades left
I think you need to settle for Martin. You are dangerously low on trades as it is. Who is your current R2?
witts lol
I don't think you'll be sorry with Grundy….assuming you're going for leagues…you might choose to hold off for a couple of weeks….
Wait for grundy? Decent breakeven
Witts has a breakeven of 152 coming off two 50s needa get rid of him now
Nah, you needed to get rid of him a while ago… just bugging you. Grundy will be better than Martin but with only 5 left, I don't think you can afford two more trades on this upgrade.
I'm getting Gaff over Danger this week. YOLO (not rly).
Sicily, Crisp or Yeo for last spot in defence?
Yeo
Yeo, unless Sicily enables you a swing with T Mac and you're lacking bench cover
Yeo is the safe option, Sicily is the potential option, and Crisp is a large risk/reward option. They might all average the same, but you choose the risk to take
Need some advice, should I (currently 7 trades/ $142K):
1. Trade Guelfi to Hoff (Leaves me full premo bar one in MID and 6 trades with Holman to bleed $)
2. Trade Smith to Battle and Holman to J Kelly (Leaves me full premo every where bar DEF with 5 trades)
3. Trade Smith to Battle and Austin to Simpson (leaves me full premo everywhere but MID)
4. Trade Holman to Gaff or Pendles
5. Do nothing
6. Cry
Option 4. Mids need to be premium first. This path saves you a trade.
I know…but Kelly 🙁
Agree, very tempting. If you can live with 5 trades, go for option 2. Kelly should average 115 from here though has an tough few games coming.
4.
Trade Holman, Heeney/Walters/McLean/Hoff/Chad/Dahlhaus/Lambert swing into the middle. Bring in Battle. Austin for Simmo next week deal the final blow in the midfield
I like all of the suggestions and appreciate the insights!
I have two money leagues that I am prioritising this year as appose to ranking.
I don’t have paddy cripps and he will hurt me in finals so I have to get him.
With 8 trades left at full premo who do I trade out for cripps out of merret, Parker and dusty?
Tough, no chance of building a war chest? The 180 will roll out of his score by finals…prolly dusty on form if pushed…
Two words increase a players output. Contract year. Dusty had his last year and is now becoming complacent.
8 trades, 37k left
DEF: Laird, Yeo, Simpson, Hurn, Savage, Redman (Keeffe, Murphy)
MID: Fyfe, Danger, Titch, Oliver, Kelly, Selwood, Treloar, Cogs (Holman, Spargo, Ahern)
RUC: Gawn, Nank (Olango)
FOR: Heeney, Sicily, Mclean, Gray, Smith, Fritsch (Ryan, Smith)
Suggestions? I have so many problems with my team 🙁
Thanks
Trade Holman to Dawson/JSmith
Then upgrade Keefe/Murphy if you can afford it, or upgrade Nank to Goldy/Grundy
Good luck
I would Trade Holman and either Ryan or Fritsch to a premium defender via Murphy swing and Battle
Final premo needed. Can be forward or defender.
Tempted to hold fritsch then pick up Walters at 450k… or even Webster at 400k.
Can fritsch sit at f7 for a bit? And will he lose too much cash in the next fortnight?
Jeremy Cameron just copped 5 weeks. Fair penalty.
Tend to agree. I would of been very unhappy if it was less than 4.
Thought the 3 times rule may apply but 5 is fair.
Was fairly btutal. 🥊❌
I'd like it to be until the injured player returns plus X …. I always hate it when the suspended player returns first….
Fyfe go one, daisy got one for a bump and concussion…. surely more tha 5 times worse than fyfes "hit"
Any guesses who may take over points from Treloar getting gifts from Grundy? Sidebum or somebody else thrown in the guts like Adams?
I reckon Adams
Adams, De Goey or Crisp
Jamie Elliott back soon. De Goey will imo move into the Treloar role. Pendles role won't change, what is his role?
Lek's recording in his parents' dunny?
Nah recording in the studio, was there echo? I thought that was coming from Patch's end?
Lek.
Dont think we need know about noises coming from patches end! Lol. 🤣
12 trades left
Have Tuohy D6, Rocky M8, Nank R2, Taranto F6
Rocky to Cripps will cost me 2 trades
Fritsch to McLean will cost me 1 who I can swing to mids
Should I also trade Nank and Tuohy?
I’d trade both. I’m trading Nank to Grundy this week or next.
One spot down back to fill for full premo
First trade Fritsch to Dawson moving Walters from mids to fwds, Dawson has to be brought in as Walters is currently M9
1. Guelfi to Buddy or Westhoff (Leaving 1 more upgrade in Defence needed and Austin is fielded another week)
2. Rice or Austin to Hurley completing team and Billings is on field for another week
Leaning towards first option as as it gives the week on Rice to make more cash (29 breakeven) so I can hopefully trade Austin or Hibberd to Webster when he bottoms out without having to make another trade
What's all this talk of 7 trades left AFTER this week's trades?? I'll have two after getting Fyfe back in.
Solid bench swings though. Ahern, Coffield, J Smith (hopefully they might even play a game here or there).
She'll be right.
Yeah lol I've got 4 after this week and will have 3 after next with 1 spot still needing upgrading rip
2 after this week with 23 premiums
Mason Redman out for 8 weeks with a syndesmosis joint inury
DANG!!! Scratch him off the def rookie trade in list. Thanks SPC.
No worries Hawk and yep I need to re-think my trade plans!
Welcome back "riddler".
Looks like the riddler is back in town Trigga! I dont have him, but I share your joy!
Got the useless plick to cover def over the byes
We all know how that worked out.
He owes me
Be good bench cover over my hiatus.
One final premo to go (in defence). Thought I would show the team to help? 7 trades, $2k.
D: Lloyd, Sicily, Yeo, Laird, Simpson, Austin (Mihocek, Ridley);
M: Fyfe, Titch, Oliver, Danger, Cripps, Zerrett, Cogs, Dusty (Ahern, J.Smith, Giro);
R: Gawn, Grundy (Olango);
F: T-Mac, Heeney, Gray, Smith, Walters, Lambert (T.Smith, Higgins.
Trade or hold?
Higgins to Battle to generate cash, that would allow you to trade Austin to someone up to $440k – maybe not quite enough. You could bring in Daniel Rich at $429k.. risky but might pay off
Thanks Samurai. An interesting option, Leks favourite burn man. Rich is consistently inconsistent. Not sure what the recent Andrews injury will do for his scores though.
what samurai said but wait a few weeks and get webster
Thanks Ja. When is Webster back?
HIGGins to battle and Austin to Saad
Thanks Ty. $5k short this week.
Now there’s a POD. 👍🏽
Nice team, could hold with no real downgrade options this week
Higgins to Dawson via Ahern swing and Lambert to McLean for mine
Means going early on Dawson though which has it's risks
Could also very easily wait for a decent downgrade option though
I'd personally pull the trigger but up to you
Thanks King. That option removes the DPP swing. McLean is a jet yes, but I’m lookin to get the final D6 on field.
What about a punt on Higgins & Austin to P.Wilson and Hurley?
If you moved TMac back, your 440 could get you Mundy, Bisk or Wingard.
Autotype – Boak!
Thanks Keen. That option removes the DPP swing, but is certainly tempting.
DPP between 2 premiums doesn’t really work
Sorry to everyone who I recommended Kreuzer to over the past few weeks.
I actually thought Nank to Kreuzer and pocketing cash was potentially my best trade of the season. Even though it backfired it still sounds good!
Now you can get goldy….. #fingerscrossed
I have actually made that trade!
Ben brown, toby maclean, degoey as an f6? Have jack midfield billings as an f7 and walters who could swing to the mids as cover if required or looping purposes. Toby cheap but form in questiom, de goey could take treloars mins and go huge, ben brown will be up and down but saints in the final round looks delicious.
I actually loved the byes, I managed to get in the top 100 for round 13 and across the three rounds moved from 30 000 overall to a bit under 8000. 8000 is nothing to brag about but it's certainly not as embarrassing as 30 000.
That’s an amazing jump Samantha and great to move into the top 10k. My community leagues had much higher bye averages than others.
Great job Samantha. The byes can help those that are organised and usually you can rise places. Sometimes it depends on injuries and luck but that's SC every week.
Congrats Samantha. Stunning surge
NICE!
Are we getting to excited about de goey? Will it be pendles that gets thise points? Contemplating a left field downgrade for macrae. Ballsy with no josh kelly or cripps.
If anything I think it will help Phillips gain more possessions.
Great casting of the Pod fellas. Thanks fellas
Does Joel Smith keep his spot for the Dees? Was going Redman for my last downgrade to get full premo but he's out for a while.
Joel Smith or Josh Battle for the cash gen??
Purely for cash gen I would go Smith, but they’re completely different positions. Look at your structure
What about Wilson from Crows. Very cheap and DPP
Might be squeezed out by Laird/Lynch or Brown. As a Crow fan I hope they give him a decent run at it though
With 5 trades left, 44k in the bank and at full premo is it worth going Guelfi to Riewoldt for a small 16k?
I'm ranked 5,098 but want to finish under 2k. He is averaging 84 not including his injury game and can cover both forwards and mids through DPP with other players and can also be loopholed for McLean and Walters (and Buddy if T Smith is dropped) if he has a big game. Has a history of averaging about mid 80's with the occasional big score. Not a terrible F6 either if a player in the forward line can't be traded out a season's end. I assume he will be scoring 20-30 points per game more than an Ahern or Guelfi who will probably cover about 5 times between now and seasons end for small suspensions and injuries. I prefer him to Billings because Billings only showed something against the dreadful suns.
On the other hand saving trades could be more handy by allowing injury trades that need to be made late in the season and also by possibly allowing me to upgrade Stef Martin to Grundy (although I doubt that can happen unless I can also downgrade another player)
REIWOLDt could be good. Richmond have the 4th easiest fixture in the league in relation to ladder positions but play most of the difficult games at the MCG
Keep Whitfield or coniglio as my m8?
What do you mean by keep?
I think he means he has both and is trading one for a better performing premium (i.e. Cripps) so is asking which to trade and which to keep
this^^
Moved out of the byes ahead 1000 spots which I’m happy with. Thoughts for the week? 11 trades, 160k
B- Laird, Yeo, Simpson, Howe, Sicily, Savage (Austin, Richards)
M- Fyfe, Mitchell, Kelly, Danger, Cripps, Pendles, Cogs, Dusty (Holman, Ahern, Giro)
R- Gawn, Grundy (Hayes)
F- Gray, D.Smith, Walters, McLean, De Goey, Giles-Langdon (Ryan, T.Smith)
Thinking Holman to J.Smith and Giles-Langdon to Heeney to complete my side
I reckon finishing of your FWD line is a great idea. Then you still have some trades up your sleeve to upgrade players like cogs, dusty or savage if they can;t recapture their form
is Cripps a must have if I'm going for league wins?
Yes but I'm a Blues lover
Hi comminuity,
Who would you pick between Neale, Cripps or J Kelly?
All great options, GWS players need to stand up to make finals so i would go Kelly
Cripps
Beware of teams out of the finals who send their gun players to early operations or rest.
GWS season on the line over next 3 weeks. Kelly had injury problems, he might be needing rest or surgery?
I actually really like Neale but would struggle to pick over Cripps
Here is my thought process regarding Doedee
Adelaide play West Coast this week.
It became apparent to me last week whilst watching Essendon vs West Coast, that the Eagles have pretty much no forward line without Kennedy and Darling.
I'm thinking about keeping Doedee, in the hope he intercepts a lot of forward 50 entries, and racks up a bit of the footy across half back.
This is a seriously good idea…if it happens, like it.
Quinton Narkle will make his debut for the Cats this week.
I'm very excited.
should be too. This kid will be the best of the 2018 no worries a legend in the wings Once a decade type think Judd Buddy and Danger Cheers NDD
Why was he down at pick 60 Neil?
Q'N is a jet can't wait to see if he measures up. The Cats have found another one!!
Settle down fellas, he hasn't even played a game yet
That's a fantastic name.
Shitty that he's debuting now as he won't make enough $ to be useful now and will (likely) be too expensive next year.
9 trades and 127k left.
No rookies that have made enough cash to cull but Coffield or Phillips could go at a push.
Would you look to upgrade one of Witherden or Taranto or hold for now?
My original plan was to keep Taranto as a M9/F7 but he's giving me the sh!ts now.
Could also go Coffield and Philips OUT Pendles and a 102K non playing rookie IN
Which puts Taranto onto the bench as a swinger but it leaves me with bugger all bank which is not ideal at this stage of the season.
my team is as follows:
B: McDonald, yeo, crisp, laird, Simpson, McGovern
M: titch, Cripps, Gibbs, cogs, Neale, Fyfe, Merrett, Heeney
R; gawn, Martin
F: McLean, Smith, Sicily, menegola, fritsch, guelfi
i got heaps of dpp's on the bench so, I can trade in Premo this week, who shall it be?
Oliver, swing Heeney fwd.
anyone know which teams have majority of there games late in the week, looking for a doughnut at f8 so i can loophole between my f7 and f6,
Freo ive got crowden handy dpp loop
Both WA teams are handy for loop
Hey community,
Who should I upgrade to a better Premo?
B. Lloyd, Sicily, Yeo, Laird, Simpson, Hurley
M. Fyfe, Titch, Oliver, Danger, Cripps, Coniglio, Crouch, Dusty
R. Gawn, NicNat
F. Heeney, Gray, Westhoff, Franklin, Smith, McLean
Thanks 🙂
maybe crouch or dusty to someone like Kelly or wines or higgins
Thats the 2 who i was thinking
Wicked team
Thanks buddy
Hey guys. I need to trade out Austin this week to upgrade Fritch to Heeney for my final premo upgrade. With Redman going down it screws up my plans. I'm willing to go early on a defensive rook to make it happen. A trade to Riddley leaves me 5k short. Any other suggestions on defensive rookies.
You could get J.Smith but he only got 34 last week..also got a 91 though.
Cheers Rusty
You blokes need to talk about Tippaa more otherwise more will stop being interested in this site.
Sort it out.
TIPPPAAAAA
Don't want to steal Bryan's thunder though
Treloar straight in, now straight out….I need two midifielders to complete my side with limited funds and limited trades, which combo is best:
1.Josh Kelly & Luke Shuey
2. Lachie Neale & Dyson Heppell
