Another bye round, one that went better than last week, but it wasn’t without it’s hiccups, as all bye rounds tend to have. Thankfully we’ve only got one more week of this stuff to deal with, with Adelaide, Fremantle, Geelong, Richmond, St Kilda and Sydney off this week. Then it’s back to regular stations! So we’ll take another look at a by impacted round and see how everything went.

Around the Grounds

Not the greatest result for Carlton who were held goalless in the first half, losing to Fremantle 103-46. Lochie O’Brien had 17 disposals, 5 marks and 2 clearances for 71 SCPoints, Paddy Dow finished with 15 disposals, 4 marks and 4 tackles for 63 SCPoints and Pat Kerr had 10 disposals and 8 marks for 33 SCPoints.

In Round 11 of the VFL season the Northern Blues lost to Richmond 92-54. Angus Schumacher had 18 disposals, 1 mark and 1 tackle.

Collingwood had the bye last week, along with their VFL side.

The Bombers had the bye in Round 13 as did their VFL side.

They were in it until the 3rd quarter but ran out of legs and Richmond ran away with an 83-65 win. Tim Kelly was busy with 21 disposals, 3 marks and 6 tackles with 7 clearances, but his 5clangers let him down a bit and he scored just 75 SCPoints. Lachlan Fogarty had 9 disposals, 3 marks and 2 tackles for 32 SCPoints, Jack Henry had 7 disposals, 1 mark and 4 tackles for 35 SCPoints, Zach Guthrie had 7 disposals, 1 mark, 4 tackles and 6 clangers for 21 SCPoints and Lincoln McCarthy had 9 disposals for 37 SCPoints, but suffered a hamstring injury and will be out for a fair spell.

Charlie Constable finished with 18 disposals, 5 marks, 5 tackles and 3 rebound 50’s.

They were inaccurate in the first half, the Hawks ran away with it in the 2nd half, defeating Adelaide easily 88-32 in Shaun Burgoyne’s 350th game. They did not have any rookie priced players playing.

The Box Hill Hawks had a big win in their VFL match against Frankston, winning 111-48. James Cousins had 37 disposals, 4 marks, 5 tackles and kicked 2.3, Kieran Lovell had 29 disposals, 4 marks and kicked 1.1 and Dallas Willsmore had 26 disposals, 8 marks and 2 tackles.

Joel Smith anyone?…cheers Barron for all your tireless fact finding efforts, gives a leg up to those who can't find the time to do their own research. Might want check your Topic's spelling mate(Grouns) lol
Going Doedee to J.Smith , Andy Brayshaw to Rocky..(taking the punt)..and someone to Ahern this week, not sure who yet.
Thanks again.

personally i wouldnt punt on joel smith. hes a scalloped banana dude

Who would you rather punt on Hammer time?

Can't fit TMitch in, unfortunately. He could get 300 this week!

Well I sure as hell hope he does … he is my C this week and my only hope with 17 (at best) on the park.

mmm thinking Macrae to Smith free up some cash then in two premo;s to complete my team with no rookies in my 22 only 3 trades that way not 5 plus points maybe the way to go. However I will wait a week first.See Smiths second game and Macrae maybe back after two.

The Ranger

Thanks Barron.
Anyone else struggling for cash generation now?
I've got Duman, Ridley, Phillips, Coffield and T.Smith all doing sweet FA.

Yep – downgrade/upgrade combo for last 2 spots might need to wait a week. I think this is a combination of not selecting value for money picks when available combined with rookie selections (which can be hard sometimes).

who is more likely to get tagged out of oliver and kelly and which is more of a POD

Well Oliver is in 18% of teams and Kelly is in 8% of teams so Kelly is a better POD.

Well done as always BVC. I'm looking forward to the end of these byes and Zach Guthrie.

If you haven't already heard, JJK doubtful this week maybe longer.

Any news on naughton? Still got him on the pine

Back next week, but likely via VFL. Though looking at the Doggies injury list, they must be calling up the U17s by now

Doodee to Yeo
Mcrae to Robbie Gray

good moves?

Can you get hurn instead of Yeo?

also Robbie gray has been really inconsistent avoid at all costs

How's he been inconsistent? 7/11 games over 100 4 under with 3 of them being in the 90's.

I think Pete is taking the skinny 😂

Thought so haha

Cobee Bear

Cognilio might be a safer option. Ollie Wines has been killing it post-bye if you're feeling a bit more adventurous

Doedee to Yeo is a big tick. Not sure about the other move. Depends on who's in your midfield.

What's the go with JJK? Out for this week with which injury? Heard he might be out for 3 but I reckon I'll just hold him. Will end up as my F7 anyway.

he will miss a number of weeks, he gotta go

I was going to flick Charlie Curnow this week but may have to just get rid of JJK instead. Waste of two trades having him in my team will be. And all for 40 points.

you need to hold it’s not a good idea to trade and is a lot cleaner to hold onto him he’s good at winning when it matters something everyone wants to have in the team and SuperCoach value
Worth its weight in gold

Cobee Bear

Hairline fracture near the knee, up to three weeks

Jjk our for at least 3 weeks with a leg fracture

He's more injury prone than Rocky.

Made a blue last week, which has come back to bite hard. I meant to trade Doedee to Simpson, but missed the kick-off… who bl00dy starts games at 1:45 😡. It’s cost me $32k and 64 points.. but more importantly it was to give me a non-bye player on field this week. With Macrae out and potentially 3 others it means I’m won’t be able to field 18 this week as I now need 4 trades… and possibly 5 if Bont, doesn’t come up.

Bont will play.

Great work Barron! Some rooks worth a punt….

I have 4 x trade scenarios for this week. Each present risk.
$85k and 10 trades left. Only 2 premos to go.

1. Henry, Austin & Higgins;
In: Rocky, Wingard & J.Smith

2. Henry, Duman & Ridley to
Rocky, Mihocek & J.Smith

3. Henry, Duman & E.Phillips to
Oliver, Mihocek & J.Smith

4. Henry, Austin & Higgins to
Rocky, Witherden & Ballard.

Forgot to ask the question – which option???

3, 1, 2, 4 Rivo

Thanks Kev. After lots of deliberation, that’s what I’ve done. Hope Oliver does as expected. Keeping Austin another couple of weeks as insurance over Mihocek seems a better plan, and I can push J.Smith back to defence later also.
