THE CHEAT SHEET with Damo
I have my own article. I have my own article. MUM! I HAVE MY OWN ARTICLE. PUT IT ON THE FRIDGE, I HAVE MY OWN–what? oh right.
*clears throat*
Welcome to this week’s cheat sheet!
I’ve upgraded Jimmy Webster, from last week’s cheat sheet, from an orange to a green square after Dylan Roberton (get well soon, mate.) announced he would be out for at least 3 months, but probably the season.
As always, my thanks to Fantasy Insider for keeping this website running! Legends, the lot of them. Now, without futher ado: here is the cheat sheet!
Love the Hurn pick! Trades this week are as followed:
Finlayson —> Hurn
Banfield —> Spargo
Enough room for a double up next week
I'm similar but Yeo instead of Hurn. Planning to paint the fence to full premo now.
I like it mate!
Nice work Damo.
Seriously considering NicNat & Langdon to Grundy & Spargo.
Think the defensive rooks still have cash to make.
I think the defense rookies might need to be kept longer than we need them to because not a lot of defenders are screaming "Pick me. Must-have" this year. Yeo, Savage, Laird, Sicily are probably the main four.
As for your proposed trades, I think hold NicNat. His suspension is frustrating for a multitude of reasons, but I don't think trading him should be high on anyone's list at the moment. Take the 0, he'll be back next week.
Yes, my issue here is that I’m only 6 players off full promo; going for rank. Options outside of nicnat include Crouch & Yeo.
Hurley as well! Would rate simpson and hurley above everyone except laird!
Sorry wasnt meant to post here!
Yeo, Savage, Hurley, Laird, Hurn, Webster, Simpson, Sicily, Howe
Yeah not sure how savage is screaming pick me over simo and Hurley either
Hold Nic Nat. It’s only one week and he needs a rest. He’ll be back to 100s next week
Hogan or Mitch Robinson community?
Robinson was in last week's cheat sheet. I had him in a green square! Looks good Micky!
I like Hogan. Both good
Nice job Damo.
It’s just with Tracca, he doesn’t look anywhere near breaking out and has a BE of 128. As such, if you are going to flick him, surely now is the time?
I’ve flicked him so am just looking for some reassurance I guess.
I have the same view Rocksta. Took a punt with him at the start of the season and stuck with him for a long time. It didn't come off, and now he is hampered with the finger issue. Projected to lose more cash and doesn't look like knocking out 90+ scores anytime soon. Sure, he could turn it around. But I think it will take a while and there are a plenty of better things I can do with 400k that should immediately improve my team.
I don't own Petracca, but he played with that finger against Richmond, and then played against St Kilda with very little training in the lead up, I think he was released from Hospital on the Tuesday before the game, so that's mainly why he is Orange instead of Red, but I can see your reasoning.
No way he should have played last week.
My worry is when Viney comes back Petracca gets no midfield time and spends the rest of the year running around the half forward flank
Think Freako tweeted that he had 0 CBA’s last week. As always, I’ve got more pressing issues. 400k in the bank after double downgrades this week so he’s firmly in the firing line for an upgrade next week
Not sure why people are so shocked about Petraca.
He cracked the ton 3 times last year and ended with a 78 avg. Classic example of picking a player based on hype. He will play half fwd flank because that’s his position, same as last year.
I’ve got faith in him going ok over the remainder of the season. I never expected him to be the best forward, but he started at 430k and put together 3 decent scores to start the season. He was a mid-priced risk and so far he hasn’t “broken out”.
He should hit some form again and his price will bounce back.
I like Hurn, have been considering him but I feel like he always drops off as the season goes on. Might spend the extra cash on Yeo or Simmo
The obvious move, obviously. I'm trying to think outside the square though, Lek! That's what you figuratively pay me for.
And this is why you understand the cheat sheet. You are a beautiful man Damo
Hurn is having his best season for a while, no doubt. And for a 30yo is pretty durable.
But I agree Yeo is worth the extra $$$ for anyone who doesnt have him. He has been named on the ball and Shuey won't be there for at least a couple of weeks.
Great work mate. Love the sheet
Nice one Damo…good work on the cheat sheet and congrats mate!, I have gone Bundy to Spargo and Petracca to Mclean this week, and hoping Nank plays, and doesn't become a late out to Solvol. 🙂
Spot on Toby McLean (56 BE) is a must have this week, forget a premo MID, people can do that next week with several good options. Anyone who does not trade in Spargo this week (or last week) will be left at the back of the pack.
Banfield and Holman out for Macrae and Spargo.
21 trades left, $103100 in bank if changes made.
Current team
Laird, Hurley, Simpson, Savage, Doedee, Finlayson – Richards, Duman
Fyfe, Macrae, Cripps, Mitchell, Martin, Merrett, Kelly, Spargo – Brayshaw, Barry, O'Connor (any idea if he is going to get more game time?)
Gawn, Martin – English
Heeney, McLean, Sicily, Waterman, Fritsch, Giles-Langdon – Walters (inj), Guefli (bought when on the susp, now two games in a row no play, will he be back?)
Any better ideas?
Crouch and Spargo or
Spargo and Ronke
Is Ronke worth getting and then Crouch next week. Have 23 trades left and 277k
For me Crouch and Spargo. Ronke won't hold his spot and more rookies coming through.
Cheers guys, varying opinions. Both valid points. I’ll flip a coin maybe.
Lol
Paint the fence to keep up in the rankings.
Fence needs a touch up
I painted the Ronke fence
Well done ritchie!
1.5k short on going Holman to Spargo, Murray to Yeo!
Can go Finlay/Doedee to Yeo
or go Murray to Simpson/Hibberd/Sicily (although not keen, as mongrel) thus keeping Finlay & Doedee on field
Which rookies am I best off giving the boot?
DEF: Finlayson, Doedee, Naughton, Richards
MID: Kelly, Holman, Bradshaw, Banfield, Barry
FWD: Higgins, ZGL, Guelfi, Keeffe
Holman, Banfield and Barry
who is the better option to bring in to cover nic nat ( trading english for this player)
mcinerney or crossley?
Crossley looks the better of the two
Agree
McInerney is likely to get more games going forward in case you need more cover in the future. Crossley probably comes out after GC's bye for the return of Lynch. May back this week as well. No room for all of them plus 2 meter Peter is not far from a return.
Crossley is handy too if he remains in the side for our bye rounds too. I'm bringing him in.
It may seem like a crazy idea but any love for Stef Martin as captain? Up against Tom Boyd he could go bananas, no other designated Ruckman in the doggies side
who is your VC?
Why AFL.. WHY!!!! Nic nat has ruined my plans I have no clue what to do now please help
I have 20 trades with 29.8k in the back… here’s my squad
DEF: laird, yeo, howe, Webster, doedee, Finlayson(mirra, Murphy)
MID: Fyfe, titch, dusty, pendles, merret, Parker, Kelly, Holman(banfield, Brayshaw, barry)
RUCK: Gawn, Nic nat(olango)
FWD: Heeney, Sicily, Toby Greene, Devon Smith, Taranto, English,(guelfi, Fritsch)
Originally I was going to go Finlayson to Spargo via Sicily then English to mclean but now I don’t think I can’t. I sort of want to win my league this week and my opponent doesn’t have Nic nat… so I’m thinking of going English to Spargo and Nic nat to either Grundy, Stef Martin or kreuzer(a nice value pick could work out).
Thoughts?
Cheers in advance
Yeah I reckon English or Greene to Spargo and Nicnat to Grundy, Martin or Sinclair, if you can't stand the donut.
Not sure why you had English in the fwd line with no ruck swing in the first place though?
English is out this week too
With news of mcgovern being out, should i trade him or just hold him and field duman? Has thrown a spanner in the works, dont know what to do!
I brought Jimmy Webster in my team last week. He was my little sneaky POD. Why, Damo, did you have to spoil it?!?
He will still be a pod, he won’t keep it up and even if he does he has a horrible bye
What is Jack Macrae’s record vs the Crows of late?
118, 82, 128 in his last 3 v the crows
Why aren't more people considering Gaff? Has a good bye round and has only gone under 100 once this year so far.
He’s on the wing, I think once it starts getting wet and cold ball movement becomes scrappy and it’s difficult for those outside players to be consistent
West Coast is only playing at the mcg once in winter and blundstone both at 1:10 in the arvo. August is all arvo games in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane. Average temps would be 20°
All July games are arvo. Couple of night games in June. Can't obviously pick the weather or rain but the chances are better for a team like West Coast to miss the worst weather of winter.
Pick him then, I won’t. History says he’s not a top 10 guy
I'm going Crouch. Was just trying a MID who doesn't have the Round 14 bye issue and one who has the round 12 bye
He doesnt win enough contested ball
This week:
English >> McInerney
Fogarty >> Macrae
Looks good.
I'd wait a week on English and instead get Crossley next week as he is the only good downgrade option next round. Macrae is expensive and I would rather look for a bargain and save 100k, but you get what you pay for I guess.
Only making the English trade because of NicNat.
Interested in hearing why you say Macrae is expensive. I know 2 of his 3 highest scores have come in the last 2 weeks but even then he still only has a B/E of 45 and is averaging 132.
SC gold has Macrae scoring 130’s and 140’s for almost the entire season and his price hitting 700k, but generally is around 670 to 680k.
Worst case scenario is we look back in a few weeks and decide that we need him and have to pay another 50k on his current price.
If he can consistently put out scores in the 130’s and 140’s then I guess we’ll look back and say how he was cheap at 628k.
A couple of scores in the low 100’s (he’s already had a 98 and 103) and he will at least be this cheap again.
he also has a tough run coming up and has to play north melbourne and ben jacobs twice. I can see him getting to 580k before too long. The SC gold projections are always rubbish because they don't accommodate for a lowish score.
Fair call. 5/7 scores have been 120+, but yeah, will he keep up that production?
It's a risk-reward game though, and I'm rolling the dice this time. 🙂
don't mind the english trade if that is the case. 100k is 100k and if you save that two weeks in a row by looking at bargains you get an extra premo the week after, which gets you an extra 40 pgg rather than the potential difference of 10 between crouch and Macrae. Crouch is a gun POD as well. He averaged 130 on the stretch home last year.
Rank 10,046th i think up 10k spots last 2 weeks after 2 weeks in a row of poor captains and going early on my danger warchest i was holding too much money.
DEF: Laird, Savage, Lloyd, Sicily, Doodee, Finlayson (Richards, Naughton)
MID: Danger, Titch, Dusty, Macrae, Fyfe, Kelly Holman ( Banfield, Brayshaw, Barry)
RUCK: Gawn, Nank (Olago)
FWD: Gray, Smith, McLean, Petracca, Fritsch, Higgins (Gil/Lang, Guelfi)
This week, Banfield > Spargo
My other trade not sure? Ronke/Mutch or move on Petracca to Heeny or Yeo (via sic dpp)
or ??
forgot conig in M6 there
Another great post and Cheat Sheet Damo. After trading Zorko to Cripps instead of Garlett to Sicily last week I am still curled up in the corner in the foetal position and contemplating another wasted season of Supercoach. Down to 21 trades, my team under performing due to poor decisions and not even at the bye rouns yet. Do I bother to trade at all this week or trade Barry/Coffield to Spargo and Garlett to Sicily. What do I do about Buddy?
Appreciate any advice as always Community.
Good trades this week. You still have 21 trades so don’t pack it in yet. You may not win over all but have the chance to shape the finals by beating your mates between here and then.
Higgins or Spargo on field? Wish I could use Franklin as a loop. Instead the useless plonker is gathering dust on the bench. Harden up pal, it's a bruised heel. Even Billings is showing more fight than you! (nah, hes really not, just trying to fire the big guy up).
Higgins
Spargo
Would u get Dustin Martin or Matt Crouch
Matt crouch if it’s m7 dusty if it’s m8, dusty will finish strong
Dusty's BE is still pretty high so he will drop some more cash. Crouch this week and dusty in a few.
Nicnat to grundy
Christensen to rinks
What are your thoughts
Anyone else concerned about Spargo's JS with Viney coming back next week? I'm thinking Mutch might be a safer option.
Please don't do that.
Viney is a inside midfielder, they are totally different players. I believe Spargo took Garlett spot who was dropped.
My rucks are Gawn (R13 bye), Nank (R14 bye) and English (R12 bye).
Nank has to be some risk of being a late out. English has made 150k and has now been dropped.
I have two views to put, and I'd be interested what ppl think.
A. English has made his money.
Turn him into Crossley or McInerney, pocket the cash and put a warm body on the bench in case Nank is out.
B. Hold English, hoping he is there again when Gawn and Nank have their byes.
Forget about Nank being a late out. Don't jump at shadows.
A few scenarios to consider:
If you are choosing McInerny and or Crossley for their cash generation as well as ruck cover, then you will need to trade them again to realise that cash. Is there job security enough that they make a decent R3 cover.
If you are looking for reliable R3 cover, then consider Cox. Can become forward cover as well. Will score on par or better than English McInerny or Crossley and has better job security than all of them.
If you can save a trade, you only need to pull the trigger on Sunday, if Nank is rested.
Hold English. Just getting a rest. Rest will do him good.
Why are you worried about the byes for your rucks?
You need 18 players regardless of position, so you would be fine with 0 rucks as long as there are enough players in other positions.
Billings to spargo and Finlayson to Hurley, leaves me with about $450k for next week, thoughts?
Lock it in
Lock it in
Lock it in Eddie
looking good john
Hold. I have got him. Its a marathon mate not a sprint
Wrong thread sorry
I've kept buddy all this time. Still hold, or trade him out?
cheers
hold now. Was touch and go for this week and if you have held him this long then there is no point trading now.
if u held him for this long u may as well still hold.
Hold
Hold
Do I go Holman to Mutch and Murray to Appleby this week and then go Christensen and Fritsch to Gray and McLean next week / or go Holman to Mutch and Christensen to Gray this week and Finlayson to Keeffe and Fritsch to McLean next week.
This all comes down to who has better JS, Keeffe or Appleby
As a collingwood fan, i love the way Appleby goes about it. However with Reid and Langdon to come back i just cant see him holding his spot. In regards to Keeffe, his JS is speculative as well so you're sort of between a rock and a hard place atm. If you have decent bench players in your defence then i'd go Appleby this week and do a double upgrade next week.
McLean (56 BE) is must have this week – period!
Haha ha! Of course English is out the same week as Nic Nat is out!! Of course!!
Oh those SC Gods…aren't they hilarious?! Haha ha, hehe he….good one, very funny.
I'm only playing for pride and leagues so I'm gonna eat the donut and stick to my original trades.
Finlayson and Banfield OUT
Crouch and Spargo IN
I'm hearing you…same boat Ranger.
Yeah gotta love those Gods, probably one of two times you'd need English's cover and he's dropped lol
Thinking of doing something crazy this week. English > Jacobs.
Pros:
-Will have 2 premo rucks in every bye.
-Will have very solid ruck cover for rest of year, especially when NN gets rested towards end of year.
-Can play Jacobs ahead of NN when fixture permits (ie. when Jacobs plays an easy ruck he tends to score well against).
Cons:
-A lot of money at R3.
Thoughts?
no way. Points on field is how you win each week. Don't waste 450 grand and a premo on your bench.
Would you cop the donut of bring in someone like Crossley/McInerney? Neither look like they have solid JS
Depends what you are playing for. If league and doing well then just cop it. If you need wins/rank then consider trading to Grundy. The difference in averages is 20 ppg between Grundy and Nic Nat, which adds up to a lot over the course of the season. Probably worth it. I don't like the mcinerny pick – if trading English would definitely wait a week for Crossley (his rd 10 bye will be helpful throughout the rest of them).
I would trade English this week to crossly. you avoid a definite donut this week and bank some decent cash
Who should I trade out first? Finlayson or Murray?
One will be turned into McLean via Sicily DPP.
Finlayson if Murray gets named
What Ja said..
Already have Luke Parker and probably will hold. Should I hold or trade Zac Fisher? (be 90, ave 83)
Petracca + Banfield OR Banfield + Finlayson (via Seedsman swing) OUT –> for Spargo and JPK IN?
OR should I target other cheaper premiums? Yeo, Mitch Robinson? Or is Sicily worth bringing in even though he risks being suspended every week?
Thoughts?
Looking for some help
Bont out in Crouch
Rayner out in Mclean
Bont hips injury will be bad for the rest of the year.
This is my current tem.
DEF Laird Simpson Sicily Doedee Finlayson Murray (Richards O’Connor)
MID Fyfe Mitchell Martin Neale Bontempelli Coniglio Holman Dow (Banfield Coffield Davies Uniacke)
RUCKS Gawn Jacobs (De Koning)
FWD Grey Heeney Stephenson Rayner Fritch Guelfi (Gowers Ronke)
Gee, a sideways trade now … if they were setting Bont up with a season long management plan he wouldn't be playing this week.
Crouch will still be good value next week.. Rayner to Mclean is a must have .. should consider trading one of Finlayson, Banfield, or Stephenson down to Spargo and going big next week with Crouch and maybe Yeo.
Billings to McLean and Petracca to Ronke leaving me with $382k in the bank for a potential double upgrade next week. Thoughts community?
Looks solid assuming you already have Spargo
yup
Thinking of going
Holman -> Spargo (Could potentially move Billings and bring Spargo in the FWD line)
Brayshaw -> JPK
What's the community's thoughts on that? Would only leave me with 38k and have the trio of Finlayson, Doedee and Murray almost ripe for the picking.
I'd say go Billings to Spargo
I’d move billings on. Have a feeling if it’s wet Holman will be a tackling machine and pump out a big one (much like round 1 in the swamp v north – 96)
Who to trade out between
Dow 27 BE
brayshaw 30 BE
Holman 63 BE
Probably not Dow he looked really good last week.
Tough call on the other 2 because Brayshaw will make 20k more this week, but probably not much more. Whereas Holman could lose money this week, or make another 80k if he goes back to early season form
Agree on Dow. I started the year with him and thought I'd made a bad mistake. Could be wrong, but it looks like Carlton have just decided to just play the kid all year. You can afford to do that in the 27th year of your rebuild.
Won't have high scores but I've got a feeling I'll be needing him at some point when there is midfield carnage, and can be fairly confident he will be playing.
Yeah I'm pretty set on keeping dow I like him as a Carlton fan
Holman out of those 3 … but if you have either of Garlett or Finlayson .. they should go first.
I have finlayson but I think he will bounce back and his breakeven will drop
Brayshaw, hes highest score is only 62 which isnt really that good whereas we know Holman can get 90's
But brayshaw breakeven is so much lower than holman
I thought Fritsch was abit stiff last week with his score seemed to be playing more as a winger and getting up into defence.. so should I play him or spargo this week??
Cheers guys
Most of Fritsch’s scores have been around 60 with a 90 against Essendon. Spargo has 2 scores of 80ish.
I usually look at averages and last weeks scores. This says Spargo.
You are 100% Nathan. Well spotted. His role changed last week. Played on the wing. Was getting forward and back. His score should have been better. I can see him doing very well for a few weeks. Suns then Carlton.
Alright lads, sitting pretty at 652 overall with 22 trades to spare.
Laird, Simpson, McGovern, Doedee, Finlayson, T.Cole (L. Murphy, Naughton)
Fyfe, Macrae, Cripps, Titch, Martin, Coniglio, Kelly, Angus Brayshaw (A Brayshaw, Crowden, Barry)
Nank, Gawn (Olango)
Heeney, Mclean, Lambert, Petracca, Fisher, Henry (Fritsch, Guelfi)
Any suggestions?
I was considering moving tracca onto Sicily.
Next week looking at a downgrade or two, thoughts?
mutch or ronke ?
Mutch
Ronke much higher ceiling, mutch for JS
Ronke
Who's everyone putting the VC and C on?
Titch VC, Fyfe C
Fyfe vc into jelwood
Who’s your loop
Na just curious
Gawn into Fyfe
Same, Fogarty loophole
Clarry/Gawn/Titch into Fyfe. Unsure of VC atm but Fyfe at home against saints is a must IMO.
Titch into Grundy
Mitchell into Fyfe.
Danger and Martin look poor options
Cripps into fyfe
M.Crouch seems to be a popular pick for a few coaches…have people considered RD14 bye (assuming you have Fyfe, Martin & T.Kelly) that's 3 down already in the mids.
I'm weighing up keeping Finlayson (DPP) also to assist during bye rounds – not sure if poor tactic? With him and Sicily hopefully can swing them around week to week combined with trades as needed to cover most spots.
You can trade other rookies before the byes to get premos who will be playing etc. I'm getting Crouch regardless of the byes because he is so cheap for the scores he can produce consistently
For everyone with a Billings and/or Petracca laying turds all over there forward line, that are reluctant to fork out 150k for sideways trade, has another option presented itself?
Rory Lobb is fit again and a similar price. The knee injury may have been a blessing in disguise to finally get the groin right. Thoughts?
The way I see it there are 3 must have forwards. Gray, Heeney & McLean. That's leaves 3 spots for players that will be around about a 95 average. I think Lobb is capable, whereas Billings & Petracca probably 80
Got in Crouch and Cole by swinging Finlayson into the mid by Seedsman DPP and trading out Luke Ryan in DEF with now Seedsmans taking his spot.
I really like Cole. I'm thinking also Finlayson for Cole. He is projected to make 96k in the next 3 weeks so that negates in my mind his price of 238k. Ave of 84.
Yep he looks good doesn't he? A good downgrade option in my opinion
hi supercoach community, i currently have nic nat and im thinking of trading him else because im not confident in beating my two opponents in both my money leagues. im thinking about trading kruzer in even though i traded him out 5 weeks ago because i didnt like him. im not a strong supercoach player so i would appreciate some advice. im short on numbers because i thought it was a good idea to keep greene on the bench.
p.s. does anyone else think nic nat was suspended because of his skin colour.
Hi Jordan, you have to decide what your priority is. If you need to win this week, then go ahead and trade NicNat. But if you want the best team at the end of the year, it may be worth keeping NicNat. You may lose this week but the extra trade will be handy later in the year. And no, I don't think it's fair to assume NicNat was suspended because of his skin colour.
what are trying to say! I'm a racist! the afl are the racist ones, if nic nat was white he wouldn't of gotten that suspension. From the sound of your comment you clearly have no knowledge what so ever about supercoach Chris. Stop sitting on the fence and help me make a decision!!!
You sound racist. You have to the conclusion that if Nic Nat was white he wouldn't have been suspended. People can now see you're clearly biased when it comes to skin colour/place of origin.
What about the other rubbish decisions the MRP has made over the past couple of years……there are many, these are not racially driven.
If you're ready to accuse and jump to a conclusion be prepared to be called out on it.
A lot of people are annoyed at the poor decisions the MRP have been making.
Im not sure Id trade Kreuzer back in maybe just cover with a cheap ruck rookie (theres two playing this week) or get someone who is physically reliable, dont wanna burn a bunch of trades on those two positions in ruck, itll affect your entire team through the year.
IS billings a must to trade this week?
Not at all. Has lost that much cash you might as well hold. More likely to score more than say Stephenson and at the same price I would trade the rookie.
option 1:
Richards > Spargo (Sicily DPP)
Banfield > Ronke (Higgins DPP)
Option 2:
Finlayson > Macrae (via multiple DPP)
Banfield > Spargo
Thoughts?
Hold Petracca or trade for Sicily and Banfield to Spargo.
Thoughts?
Sounds good to me. (Trade!)
Trade
