The Standing Room Round 5
PADDY DANGERFIELD I COULD KISS YOU.
After Tom Hawkins was a (very) late out, the sight of Paddy Dangerfield running towards full forward filled me with dread – he was a POD captain in every single one of my leagues.
Yet the magnificant prick pulled out a 135 – while not quite matching his counterpart out west, it’s good to see a big old number next to P. Dangerfield’s name.
From the dizzying highs of Nathaniel ‘Teen Wolf’ Fyfe and Robbie Gray to the disappointing lows of ‘bloody’ Buddy Franklin and Tom Mitchell, the round has had it all.

That’s not to mention North upsetting the Hawks, the Dogs being absolutely dreadful and That Jake Carlisle free-kick that wasn’t – speaking of, the people who want to get rid of the draw are the same people who want a best-of-three grand final at the end of a nine-side finals series played in Uzbekistan.
Some huge talking points already coming out of round five, including:
- Is Dangerfield BACK?
- Can we hold Bonner until his bye?
- Has Garlett got to go?
- How much money do I have to pay to have Nat Fyfe hold me late into the night, whsipering non sequiurs into my ear for hours on end?
All these questions and more … what are your answers at this early stage?
