G’day Community,

Only two days in and I already feel like I need a stiff drink.

Had Kreuzer and Lambert…Kreuz concerns me, Lambert not so much. He was a spud for a half but still got over 70, his points will come.

The big one is Zerrett, what a nightmare that is for coaches. Any doctors out there? Medical or psychological? Patch needs some help.

Alright, here’s what I want to talk about

  1. Injuries, what’s your backup plan?
  2. Last minute changes, you making any?
  3. VC/C if you didn’t go Dusty or Cripps, who you got? (I’m going Fyfe into a Geelong/Melbourne player I reckon)
  4. Anyone going to any games this weekend, let’s fill a bay and yell Tony Olango’s name on repeat

Lot’s of love, Lekdog

I have Zerrett and Danger. Do I bring someone in for Danger and then burn a trade by trading Zerrett to Danger next week? All of a sudden my pod Zerrett seems Ike a bad idea.

    TheGreatBozza · 24/03/2018 at 09:08

Is Zerrett going to be out next week? I don’t like the idea of burning a trade this early on, unless Zerrett is going to miss 2+ weeks

      Griggsy · 24/03/2018 at 09:13

was thinking he's had multiple concussions already, might be the start of a worrying trend

        Duckky · 24/03/2018 at 12:43

Word from the club is he is very unlikely to be risked in Perth next week. Wait till Thursday.

          PaddytheMelon · 26/03/2018 at 14:05

          Where'd you hear that from?

    Tyruddanaut · 24/03/2018 at 11:08

Not a great POD. More than 10% ownership in the first place

bigboi · 24/03/2018 at 09:02

i think patch should make a new team before 3rd game starts… no cripps, martin has kreuzer. rip

Will · 24/03/2018 at 09:03

Thoughts on downgrading Danger to Armitage then when Zerrett drops go from Armo to Zerrett? (plan to bring back danger asap)

VC on T.Mitchell, C on either Bont or Kelly

    LuskinStar · 24/03/2018 at 09:24

I tried something similar a couple of years ago. Found myself short of trades And missing points. Don’t do it.

    Spifflicator · 27/03/2018 at 11:20

A truly horrible idea. DO NOT DO IT!

TheGreatBozza · 24/03/2018 at 09:06

Don’t like Danger to Armo. Too big a drop off. I like the logic of using a mid pricer to get a cheap Zerret, but is there another way you can do it?

    Will · 24/03/2018 at 09:15

How cheap will Zerret get? lets say he comes out and averages 110 for the next 4 weeks..

      TheGreatBozza · 24/03/2018 at 09:37

Not 100% on the maths and breakevens; but I’d assume he could go down past 500k

        Anon · 24/03/2018 at 11:35

Shouldn't go down too much if his next two scores are big, the 19 will only be in his price calculations for 1 week as it's a 3 round rolling average .

        Daniel · 24/03/2018 at 13:40

That's not even close – because it was in round 1, like Anon says, it only counts in his rolling average for one price change.
For him to get under 500k, he'd have to put out three consecutive 70s to dip under 500k. Most likely, he returns and puts up two 100s, and he would then be around 545k.

          Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 13:42

and I doubt anyone would be able to afford him at round 3 so he likely goes back up in price.

            TheGreatBozza · 24/03/2018 at 13:50

I’m not good at quick mafs

    INPieman · 24/03/2018 at 12:19

Round 1 score is only in 1 price movement. It's not going to make him crash in price at all. Second score of the season is far more important

    TheGreatBozza · 24/03/2018 at 16:20

Armo is starting to prove me wrong

nbasportsandnews · 24/03/2018 at 09:07

Need some help!

Pick 2 of these guys

Fritsch
Ryan
Stephenson
Venables

Cheers

    BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 09:11

    Fritisch Ryan

    SCdonkey · 24/03/2018 at 10:08

Fritsch and Ryan for me. Going by JLT form Fritsch well do ok and will be a big cash cow at low price. Ryan was ok at JLT showed a promising sign, good for bench cover.

TheGreatBozza · 24/03/2018 at 09:11

Can someone call me crazy for considering Mason Cox as a Krooz cover? My options are:

1. Olango to English; losing loophole option. Keep Bundy and Greene up forward
2. Olango to Hayes (DPP and loop option). Then go Bundy to Cox, Greene down to Billings (need to do it to free up cap space)

Thoughts? Krooz has me in a pickle already

    Mike · 24/03/2018 at 11:53

I’d go English before Cox, $300k is expensive bench cover.

      TheGreatBozza · 24/03/2018 at 12:20

Cox would be F5 over Christensen, and cover Krooz for a week or 2

    INPieman · 24/03/2018 at 12:17

If you've got 50k in your bank I'd consider Olango & Bundy out for English & Cox. Plenty of DPP flexibility & both might keep playing. Having said that I can't see either English or Cox being good scorers. The top 13 rucks last year Av 18 games each. So the cover could be useful down the track as well

      TheGreatBozza · 24/03/2018 at 12:20

I’d have to drop a Mitchell to kelly or Pendles to Parker to fit Cox and English. I like my mid structure though. Tough calls to be made

      TheGreatBozza · 24/03/2018 at 12:20

I also think cox has much better scoring potential than english

dontblushbaby · 24/03/2018 at 09:18

Initially had Barlow ,but not sure who to pick now between Menegola,McLean, Billings or Mundy as a POD, already have Knob Head,Smith and Tracca

    dontblushbaby · 24/03/2018 at 09:25

    & Heeney .rest are rooks

    AuroraBorealis?! · 24/03/2018 at 11:25

For me the best option there is Billings, jumped from an avg of 74.9 in 2016 to an avg of 92.7 in 2017. Looks to be on an upward trend and should get a decent amount of midfield minutes.

LuskinStar · 24/03/2018 at 09:20

I always start Zerritt but this year went Oliver instead. Happy with that choice at the moment. Also have Kreuz and Danger. Both have surprising low ownership so I don’t want to give up potential no 1s who are pods too soon. Will give Danger 3 weeks. Anyone heard how bad Kreuz is?

Knaggerz · 24/03/2018 at 09:20

Are Walters and Sicily the real deal? Feel like traps

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 15:04

Could both be but you never know with speculative picks, Walters can go big and will be more in the midfield, Sicily finished strong last year but can be over-emotional and a bit floggy.

    Westy · 25/03/2018 at 08:20

Sicily scored well last night. I picked Roughy instead. ๐Ÿ™

    Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 08:47

Sicily had 5 clangers and still scored 125 thanks to his 84 DE%. If you don't have him now you got to get him in before his price rise. Looks like a top 6 defender to me.

    BVB21 · 25/03/2018 at 09:56

    They will both be inconsistent.

suhdagel · 24/03/2018 at 09:26

giles langdon or keep keeffe and wait till he plays?

    Blaknight · 24/03/2018 at 09:37

Keep Keeffe in your Back if you have Sicili in your FWD. Will be handy once you start upgrading/downgrading rookies to premos.

      nbasportsandnews · 24/03/2018 at 10:01

Unused rookies or low cost players are wasted right now need to be making cash in as many areas as possible

        Starkingdom · 24/03/2018 at 10:08

        Good advice nba

      suhdagel · 24/03/2018 at 10:13

Don't have sicily, and keeffe is my fwd bench, should i go giles jangdon or keeffe at F7

        Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 13:43

Yeah do it mate, no point having Keefe if you don't have Siciflog.

    David C · 24/03/2018 at 11:00

You can always use Keeffe as a downgrade target when he finally gets selected. No need to start him if he's not playing.

    The_Blacksheep · 24/03/2018 at 13:39

As a rule never select a rookie who isnt named round 1, no matter who it is.

Locked and Loaded · 24/03/2018 at 09:32

Final adjustments guys

Dom Barry
LDU
Hunter Clark

Just need one????

    TheGreatBozza · 24/03/2018 at 09:36

    Barry. Pocket the cash

      Locked and Loaded · 24/03/2018 at 09:42

    David C · 24/03/2018 at 11:01

Gray comes back in next week. Good chance Barry will be dropped.

      Abel Grant · 24/03/2018 at 11:37

      Different role

        David C · 24/03/2018 at 12:26

Reckon Motlop might take his role. Gray forward more.

L.Ryan or B Fritsch on field?

    DacZawson · 24/03/2018 at 10:16

    Fritsch

      Corey · 24/03/2018 at 14:30

      Fritsch

Cliffy · 24/03/2018 at 09:44

Having trouble working out one more rookie Forward position to play on field.

Have Fritsch, Giles-Langdon and Ryan, but now need to pick one of Stephenson, Bell, Rayner, am I missing anyone else? Thoughts guys?

Cheers

    Cliffy · 24/03/2018 at 09:51

The rest of the team looks like this too for this Round (if there are any other suggestions):

Def: Laird, Hibberd, Lloyd, Bonner, Doedee, Murray (Naughton, Finlayson)

Mid: Dusty, Kelly, Fyfe, TMitchell, Coniglio, Kelly, Brayshaw, Holman (Banfield, Barry, Garlett)

    Ruck: Martin, Gawn (King)

Fwd: Heeney, Billings, McLean, Smith, Bell*, Fritsch (Ryan, Langdon)

    shemmistwarehouse · 24/03/2018 at 11:43

i would go bell the others are a bit shaky

    Shake_n_Bake_ · 24/03/2018 at 12:39

    Venables

      Cliffy · 24/03/2018 at 12:48

Think he could score ok on-field most weeks?

TheSwindler · 24/03/2018 at 09:44

Should I get rid of either Hunter Clark or Barry for O'connor? Thinking of a potential mid/def swing with finlayson

    Starkingdom · 24/03/2018 at 10:12

I would keep Barry and bring in O'Connor for the swing. Hunter is an expensive rookie and I haven't seen enough to suggest he's worth the risk.

Rucks=points · 24/03/2018 at 09:49

Gawn to captain take the risk. Had dusty as vice and all my rookies playing. Not trading one out to double 139. 150+ yeah maybe. Gawn's your man get on him.

    Dukes · 24/03/2018 at 10:34

Crazy not to take a garunteed 130 everytime

      neil demons delight · 24/03/2018 at 12:27

      he cant

    David C · 24/03/2018 at 11:03

Get in someone like Ahern who should get games at NM.

    shemmistwarehouse · 24/03/2018 at 11:44

you have a lotta balls not taking dusty’s points good luck

      neil demons delight · 24/03/2018 at 14:36

He cant He doesn't have a non playing rookie

    Leigh · 24/03/2018 at 12:04

Just bring in Mitchell King @r3
    Take Dustys score

Love a tag · 24/03/2018 at 09:51

Hi community,

I have 1 forward spot to fill. Have Heaney and Billings.

Can't decided between Buddy, Greene or a midpricer.

Thanks in advance for any advice

    Rucks=points · 24/03/2018 at 09:54

Buddy in a good side mate. Greenes good but the grass is greener and not as likely to be removed by the umpires during the year.

    Starkingdom · 24/03/2018 at 10:09

Greene is a star and a flog, just got to hope the flog in him is gone.

      Derek · 24/03/2018 at 11:05

      Greene had no preseasons

        Beezneez · 24/03/2018 at 14:43

        Scored 56 from 48% TOG in JLT2.

    shemmistwarehouse · 24/03/2018 at 11:46

if you don’t have him already, i would go petracca he’s gonna be a gun this year

Ash · 24/03/2018 at 09:55

1. I have 3 mid rookies on field. Bradshaw, Banfield, Clarke (Barry, Holman, Kelly)
Not sure about Clarke or LDU or O,Connor. Thoughts for that m8?
2. I have Olango and Dusty VC. Is it worth Getting English as he's playing? Trying to get Cash is better or doesn't matter.

Starkingdom · 24/03/2018 at 10:01

Dangerfield down to 22% teams. It's going to be an interesting season.

    David C · 24/03/2018 at 11:05

    19.5% now … dropping fast.

Steve · 24/03/2018 at 10:07

Parker and Mclean (20k left) or Heeney and Libba (65k left)?

    DacZawson · 24/03/2018 at 10:39

    Parker, McLean

Danny · 24/03/2018 at 10:09

Keeffe or O Connor?

    Mike · 24/03/2018 at 11:58

    Keefe not playing

      Danny · 24/03/2018 at 12:10

      Yeah I know, just as a D8

DacZawson · 24/03/2018 at 10:24

Are there any cats fans out there that may have any insight as to O'Connor's job security?

    DacZawson · 24/03/2018 at 10:27

I'm so tempted by Fogarty's scoring potential with his tackling pressure but JS is a problem

    Starkingdom · 24/03/2018 at 10:46

He's a last minute upgrade from the rookie list so the signs are there. He's 191cm and 87kg and at 21 yrs old seems like a very good inclusion. His tackling and accurate kicking will (hopefully) see him stay the distance. Last years 2 games weren't flash but it was his first season and coming from a different format of the game you'd expect him to take some time to adapt.

"In early 2017, O’Connor was upgraded to Geelong’s senior list. Mark’s form in the VFL was highly promising as he displayed great improvement in his newly adopted game. His running in through the midfield as well as disposal was a large factor of his elevation. Mark debuted for the AFL side against Essendon. After finishing the year with 2 senior appearances, Mark’s progress has been excellent and he will now look towards the 2018 season where he hopes to make further contributions." .. found at http://tlaworldwide.com/talent/mark-oconnor-2/

    BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 11:22

Did nothing last year. Scored 28 and 35 in his two games. Geelong have too much depth for him to be a regular. The likes of Danger, Henderson, Scooter Selwood, Murdoch, Cockatoo, McCarthy, Buzza, Crameri all gonna be rotating through the team at some point.

      DacZawson · 24/03/2018 at 11:36

BB what rookie would you be taking in the midfield then?
I've already got Brayshaw, Banfield, Holman, Barry, Kelly and Finlayson down back

        BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 11:55

I had Garlett in there. Could always swing Finlayson into the mids and grab Naughton if you don't have him. Otherwise Clark/LDU is an option.

          DacZawson · 24/03/2018 at 12:08

Yeah I think I may go Clark and then if Garlett seems worth a corrective trade pre-Round 3 than I'll trade Clark down.

      pod · 24/03/2018 at 11:42

Henderson the only defensive player out of those you mentioned. So much talent still to be included in the Cats lineup, looking good!

Blaknight · 24/03/2018 at 10:28

D.Barry or N.Holman with the E. Will loophole Danger if the E scores big. Will swap T.Kelly out for Danger

    DacZawson · 24/03/2018 at 10:30

    I like Holman

      Holty · 24/03/2018 at 10:36

Agreed. His js is better imo

    Abel Grant · 24/03/2018 at 11:39

Holman big tackler. Playing in wet today.

    pod · 24/03/2018 at 11:46

    Holman

    Beezneez · 24/03/2018 at 14:51

I'm thinking Banfield plays first so i'm putting the E on him and Holman and Brayshaw on field. If Banfield scores well will leave Dangerfield on the field. If not, will put Kelly on field. In your case, Barry plays first so I would put the E on him.

Tommo09 · 24/03/2018 at 10:39

Need to replace Keefe and Coffield in defence

Who do I pick?
I already have Doedee, Naughton and Murray

    Holty · 24/03/2018 at 10:49

Finlayson definately. Hard to suggest anyone else as not sure on their js.

    dontblushbaby · 24/03/2018 at 10:49

    O'Connor – Def/Mid . Finlayson – Def/Mid – I have both if that helps

    Tommo09 · 24/03/2018 at 10:53

Thanks guys. I picked both those guys up

    Abel Grant · 24/03/2018 at 11:41

Just finny left. Could go to Bonner atv$260kish. Or could keep keefe as loopholes/swingset for sic if you have him

Westy · 24/03/2018 at 10:41

Team is
D Laird, Hibberd, Savage, Bonner, Naughton, Doedee – Finlayson, Murray
M Martin, Mitchell, Zorko, Fyfe, Cripps, Coniglio, A Brayshaw, T Kelly – Banfield, Barry, Holman
R Gawn, Nankervis, Olango
F Franklin, Roughead, D Smith, Deledio, Fogarty, L Ryan – Fritsch, Keeffe

Brought in Deledio and Bonner for Barlow and Coffield Perhaps it's a shark move – perhaps I'm just Deledusional.
Happy with all my team that have played so far. Unlike my AFL Fantasy team where I put the C on Zerrett!

    shemmistwarehouse · 24/03/2018 at 11:52

i like bonner but bringing in deledio is nuts. but who knows it could work out

      Westy · 24/03/2018 at 12:15

As I said, am I Deledusional?

H4kwer · 24/03/2018 at 10:46

Which option?
1. Naughton, Billings, Venebles & 108k in bank
or
2. Naughton, Petracca, Christensen & 40k in bank or
3. Billings, Christensen, Venables & 7k in bank

    Tyruddanaut · 24/03/2018 at 11:11

    1. Fo sho

Bonner, Billings, fwd rookie (or MacPherson)

    shemmistwarehouse · 24/03/2018 at 11:53

i like number 2 i dunno about venebles

KSinny · 24/03/2018 at 10:53

Which two rookies to field in the mid out of Brawshaw, Holeman, Kelly and Banfield

    DacZawson · 24/03/2018 at 11:05

Brayshaw and Holman/Banfield, I'd keep Kelly benched

    shemmistwarehouse · 24/03/2018 at 11:54

definitely brayshaw, the other one though just take a stab. im personally going banfield

TommyC99 · 24/03/2018 at 10:54

Worth swapping Keeffe for O’Connor? Or keep him to keep that switch with Sicily

    David C · 24/03/2018 at 11:09

You need your rooks to be playing R1. Can probably get Keeffe as a downgrade target later.

    Tyruddanaut · 24/03/2018 at 11:11

    Yeah, JS is everything

      TommyC99 · 24/03/2018 at 11:45

Fairo, just means I can’t loop Sam Murray using keeffe

TommyC99 · 24/03/2018 at 10:55

Kelly, Bont, Zorko or Pendles? Have Kelly but named in forward line so concerned he might spend a bit of time there

    DacZawson · 24/03/2018 at 11:04

I'd go Kelly or Zorko but less so with the other 2

    Moosehead · 24/03/2018 at 11:26

I had Kelly all of 2017 and occasionally he was named on th3 bench. DON’T pay attention to paper position. He is their best mid fielder.

    shemmistwarehouse · 24/03/2018 at 11:56

he might be named in the forward line but they need him through the guts. I reckon hes in for a big year i would be going there. But you couldn’t go wrong picking the zorks

Tyruddanaut · 24/03/2018 at 11:10

Wasted my VC on Kreuzer l, who….. yeah

I’m going for a bit of a POD with Zorko captain this week, I mean what do I have to lose. Last year I was coming 50,000 at R2 and came back for a spot at 3,000 at R22 (I’m trying to block r23 out of my head)

    Post_MaSloane · 24/03/2018 at 11:20

Stef Martin always plays well against St Kilda, I'd back him in for a monster number or HOA's, which should benefit Zorko.

    Finnius · 24/03/2018 at 23:30

I really hope you didn't go through with this.

    shemmistwarehouse · 24/03/2018 at 12:13

go venebales to sicily i reckon

Aaz · 24/03/2018 at 11:30

Am thinking of swapping Danger for coniglio, keeping the cash and hopefully bringing danger back by round 5-6. Should see a nice rise in price by cogs and let me assess how danger is tracking before spending 745k, allowing for a price drop or if he's killing it bring him straight back in. Would love some thoughts on this as I'm still unsure.

    ChewyOnYa · 24/03/2018 at 11:34

I’m considering doing the same Aaz, either that or down to Parker and hoping he averages 110 as a fallen premo

    Abel Grant · 24/03/2018 at 11:46

Love it man. Cogs will score well

    Aaz · 24/03/2018 at 11:59

Cheers lads, locked and loaded coniglio, hopefully he has a big one

ChewyOnYa · 24/03/2018 at 11:33

Do I take
1. Parker as a premo
2. Coniglio (premo if does well, step up to danger if flops)

    Caleb · 24/03/2018 at 11:36

Parker. Proven and JLT was superb

    pod · 24/03/2018 at 11:49

    Parker

    Aaz · 24/03/2018 at 11:52

I'm going with 2 Chewy for that same reason, win win situation really

Holty · 24/03/2018 at 11:40

Been a boring start for me so far. 2 games down and only had 2 players on field. Guess the positive is they are Cripps and Doedee who i was very impressed with in his first game. Looking forward to the rest of the round to see how my side shapes up.

Post_MaSloane · 24/03/2018 at 11:45

Ablett came out and said he's going to play as a pure midfielder, rather than a mid-fwd. Little bit worried for my Duncan pod

    Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 11:52

For season or just round 1 Sloane?

      Post_MaSloane · 24/03/2018 at 12:09

The season. BHJ said it was the first conversation he had with Chris Scott. To paraphrase, 'I'll be playing midfield, the rumours of me being a mid forward are a bit wide of the mark. I know I'm 33, but I've still got a lot left in the legs. Get me in there.'
      *not exact quote

        Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 12:13

Hmm this makes things interesting I have been tempted by him all pre season thinkin his a mid-fwd now even more so as a pure mid.. but I’d have to lose kelly or Mitchell in the guts. I can see Duncan Selwood n danger all helping with points not stealing them like ppl say. Thoughts?

          Post_MaSloane · 24/03/2018 at 12:25

They are all beasts, and will still all score well. Duncan didn't go below 90 after round 7, and 100 after round 15. We all know Danger and Ablett are the two best Supercoach scorers of the last decade.

Duncan plays well off a wing, but where he is real damaging is as a run-with player getting clearances out of the square. Of course a run-with player is still handy on the wing, but with the decrease in midfield time we could see Duncans score drop by 5 points a game, taking him out of the top 10 mids.

The benefit of Duncan though is that GAJ is such a good quarterback, and Duncan could really be targeted as an outside runner alongside him. We also have to consider that last year Scooter, Blicavs, Guthrie and Menegola all spent time running through the guts and Duncan was still a linchpin in there. Having said that, if GAJ really is playing as a pure midfielder, we will see a lot of centre bounces with the big 3. GAJ will have a massive year IMO, but I'm not picking him because it's a lot to pay for such an injury prone player.

I'm still going to run with Duncan, as the wing is still one of his preferred positions. But I may be forced to do a corrective early if it looks like he's going to be missing out.

        INPieman · 24/03/2018 at 12:32

He's not playing all season in the midfield. He's 33 & now as injury prone as they come. He's past being that player. When he plays forward he's a menacing headache for any team. He will split his time between the two. That is when he plays

          Post_MaSloane · 24/03/2018 at 12:41

My thoughts as well Itchy Nuts. Imagine how damaging their line up will be this year, when Selwood, Duncan and Guthrie are in the guts, Menegola on a flank, Gaz in the pocket and Hawkins and Dangerfield as side by side Full Forwards. My mouth is salivating

            Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 12:43

Selwood is well n truly priced at unders. Juicy prospect but so much value around that price already makes it tough

        Daniel · 24/03/2018 at 13:50

Of course he's got lots left in the tank, he stopped playing full-on at GC after his injury a couple years ago.

Willymack1234 · 24/03/2018 at 11:47

Who’s going Lobb over Sicily? I know I am

    INPieman · 24/03/2018 at 12:35

Dee · 24/03/2018 at 11:57

Siciliy or H Shaw/Savage for D3?
O'Connor, LDU or Clarke for last Mid Rookie spot?

    shemmistwarehouse · 24/03/2018 at 12:16

i would go savage for d3

shemmistwarehouse · 24/03/2018 at 11:57

tossing up two options
1. sicily and heeney
2. savage and mclean

at the moment going with option one but could easily do a panic trade before kickoff

TommyC99 · 24/03/2018 at 11:58

Is Oliver still a good pick or should we look to make hm an upgrade target due to the injury cloud?

    Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 11:59

another preseason increasing his tank & Gawn rapping down his throat this season. Cant go wrong. It was a slight knock its nothing

    shemmistwarehouse · 24/03/2018 at 12:04

there are so many great premium mids, i would rather go one that isn’t under an injury cloud

      Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 08:00

Agree shem, injury concerns are like poison ivy, stay clear.

    Finnius · 24/03/2018 at 23:27

    gun.

    JohnDJ59 · 25/03/2018 at 01:41

I'm a huge fan of Clarry, had him from the start last year, was my second picked player in the mids this year, but as soon as I heard about the Knee knock,I traded him out, same as Danger, they will both be upgrade targets for me.

Derek · 24/03/2018 at 11:58

I’m starting to move back to the idea of starting with Dangerfield this week.

5 mins before Thursday’s game I traded Danger to Dusty, with the idea of keeping $100k in bank to trade Dusty back to Danger in round 2 or 3.

I had already decided I couldn’t have both Danger and Dusty because of my Round 14 bye problem. I have Fyfe, Parker, Heeney, Laird, Mills & Billings with R14 bye.

It is obvious if this was later in year you wouldn’t waste 2 trades to trade him out and back for missing one week, but it is only a 1 trade cost.

What is 1 trade worth? More than 60-70 points, the diff between a decent rookie score and a Danger replacement score. And that is all it will be as I was planning to hold the cash. Now if you were to spend the extra $100k that creates more calculations, on what points will that extra spend get you, maybe another 20-30 points, but then next week I wake up and I find there is $100k missing from my wallet, can’t get Danger.

Looking at the comments here and elsewhere, it seems the elite players are all keeping Danger, they can see the future and know it is a long way to the finish line and having Danger is vital.

Pay the Price.

So I’m starting Danger and also have Dusty and a heap of other r14 bye players. To balance the team, one has to go.

But Who? I have $66k to spend.

Mills was my first thought, I have a bias towards him as my son played a lot of footy with him, but I don’t have cash to upgrade much.

Billings is my second choice, but buddy and Menagola both r14 byes.

What about RGray? If it’s ok to start with Danger, Why not Gray?

As you can see my head is spinning and I’m sure there are others having the same thoughts, love to hear what people think.

    DacZawson · 24/03/2018 at 12:06

I think the main concern with Gray is that he'll need to be replaced by a bench rookie twice before the byes. I think it'd be okay if we had some decent forward rookies but there's every chance someone like a Ryan or Giles-Langdon could average 40.
I'd be leaning more towards Wingard or Dixon if you were to go a Port forward

      Derek · 24/03/2018 at 12:18

Don’t like any other Port Forwards.

Gray wasn’t high on my list, I was just looking at upgrade possibilities

I did think about Billings to Hogan and Mills to Hibberd.

    Borko · 24/03/2018 at 12:07

Derek, I actually like your strategy of switching Danger to Dusty (I think we need to start at least one of them). If you also have Mitchell you could try your luck without Dangerfield and re-assess in a few weeks (would help your bye situation). I didn't make the switch so feel I need to hold Danger as I don't want to be chasing both of them during the season.

    pod · 24/03/2018 at 12:10

All the elite players are going for rank so will trade Danger for another uber but leave cash available to trade him in as soon as he returns.

      Derek · 24/03/2018 at 12:14

Not sure about that. A trade is worth more than 60 pts

        pod · 24/03/2018 at 12:23

Say you trade in TMitch or Ablett for Danger and you chuck the VC / C on him and he scores 150-160 which obviously doubles, then it becomes a good option.

          Derek · 24/03/2018 at 12:29

If I was to go without Danger, TMitch would be my selection. That was original plan, and then to trade Dusty back to Danger.

            pod · 24/03/2018 at 12:38

I like it, I have a similar plan.

    Derek · 24/03/2018 at 12:10

    Team is

Laird, Shaw, Mills, Doedee, Murray, Finlayson, (O’Connor, Murphy)

Dangerfield, Dusty, Fyfe, Oliver, Kelly, Parker, Banfield, Holman (Garlett, Barry, Kelly)

    Gawn, Lycett (Olango)

Heeney, Billing’s, Devon, Petracca, Lobb, Venables (Fritsch, Ryan)

    $65k
    (No Cyril)

      dontblushbaby · 24/03/2018 at 12:21

I would have thought that by R14 our teams would be set to cover the bye

        Derek · 24/03/2018 at 12:38

I would hope to still have my starting keepers, although last year it didn’t go to plan.

8 round 14 players to start seems too many.

I would have had Crouch as well.

Maybe I’m worry about bye too much. Having both Danger and Dusty should be fun

          Pitch72 · 24/03/2018 at 13:08

Rd 14 is over 3 months away, you shouldn't determine your starting side for this reason, a lot of water under the bridge until then, good team Derek besides the Lycett pick IMO.

            Derek · 24/03/2018 at 13:20

            thanks. Good advice.
Regards Lycett, you have to know I love my R2 picks. Not the set n forget for me.

              Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 13:48

Well Lycett already looks like a better pick than bloody Kreuzer. I had Lycett in my team for such a long time as well, maybe next time I will back myself.

Lee · 24/03/2018 at 12:15

127,200K – Still cash there
DEF: Laird, Hibberd, H Shaw, Doedee, Naughton, Murray (Finlayson, Murphy)
MID: Danger, Dusty, Mitchell, Kelly, Fyfe, Brayshaw, Banfield, O'Connor (Holman, Barry, Kelly)
RUCK: Gawn, Nat (Olango)
FWD: Heeney, Billings, Smith, Petracca, Christensen, Fritsch (Ryan, Garlett)

Should I go LDU/Clarke for O'connor? Olango for English or another idea?
Would love some best ideas. Thanks

Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 12:15

Lloyd named on a wing. Mighty tempting to start him over hibberd at D2. Thoughts? Defence is where to take the risks this season

    Derek · 24/03/2018 at 12:25

Where they get named doesn’t mean anything.

    Post_MaSloane · 24/03/2018 at 12:37

For me, defence is the place where I'm not going too risky. The forward line is so hard to pick the top 8, that any pick outside of buddy or Heeney is basically a risky pick. Therefore my plan is to lock down a big chunk of my backline, with Hurley, Laird, Hibberd and Savage all in my starting team.

I would pick Hibberd over Lloyd, Hibberd is the general down back whereas Lloyd will get impacted heavily with McVeigh in the team. Check out Lloyd's scores with and without McVeigh. However, Lloyd still represents value and is likely to finish in top 8 defenders.

Go with your gut I guess

      Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 12:42

      Valid points!
Have posted my side in the comments Sloane. Would love to hear ya 2 bobs worth. Got a huge kitty to play with

        Post_MaSloane · 24/03/2018 at 12:48

I really like it mate! If Libba and Coniglio are locked in, I would probably use the war chest to upgrade Bonner to a premo who you think will end the year in the top 8. Who you think that will be is up to you

We only have 30 trades, and while there is a lot of value to be had, you can't rely purely on value picks and you still want to get as close to your round 23 team as you possibly can. Trades are golden

          Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 12:55

          Thanks mate.
I have been flirting with bonner to savage or sicily for a stronger D3 or venables to sicily at f5. Probably can’t go to wrong with either. Should save me a trade down the track like you mentioned they are priceless.

Jason · 24/03/2018 at 12:27

Should I put Naughton on bench and get Riley bonner or keep naugton on field and get O'Connor Geelong

Caleb · 24/03/2018 at 12:31

Sicily or lobb at f5?
Upgrading either Langdon or venables to one.

Dogs · 24/03/2018 at 12:36

Had the VC on dusty, will be keeping the C on danger. Taking the hit this week as I already had to change my structure a little to accommodate the higher priced rookies, and not sold on the job security of some of the rookies named round 1.

Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 12:40

Def: laird hibberd bonner naughton finlayson Murray (doedee murphy)

Mid: danger Mitchell kelly Fyfe coniglio Libba brayshaw Holman (kelly barry banfied)

Ruck: goldy gawn (olango)

Fwd: heeney lambert McLean smith Langdon fritsch (venables Garlett)

A huge war chest of 308k! Where can I use most of it?
Libba And coniglio are locked in so not on them thanks
Maybe my f5 or d4? Throw some ideas n players my way guys.

    Derek · 24/03/2018 at 13:22

Have a look at Lobb for F5

      Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 13:27

You believe lobb will outscore a sicily or petracca?

        Derek · 24/03/2018 at 13:37

Have a quick look at GWS draw and who Lobb is up against. Except for Sandi in round 4, but he will score well around ground, he has chance to start very well and get some good match fitness and decent scores.

I have Petracca at F4 and Lobb F5

I would go Petracca ahead of Lobb

WhySoSerious · 24/03/2018 at 12:54

How does the community feel about Tim English? Low scoring potential but could worth it for ruck cover.

    Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 13:02

Tempting but his got a low scoring potential. I like having the loophole of olango (& banking 30k) with all my other rookies playing though. Probably a lot of ppl in this boat. Just depend on what suits your structure and game plan.

    Derek · 24/03/2018 at 13:07

I’m really surprised he is playing. Dogs have Roughie, Campbell, Schat, Boyd and Tregrove all ahead of him.

He must have really improved over the pre season

    Did he play any JLT?

Johno · 24/03/2018 at 12:59

Lobb or McLean?

    Derek · 24/03/2018 at 13:17

McLean seems expensive to me. I think he will do ok, if he gets more midfield time he will do a bit better than his price.

Lobb seems a bargain if he will be #1 ruck

Fletch · 24/03/2018 at 13:04

Luke Ryan, Sicily or mills?

    Willymack1234 · 24/03/2018 at 14:32

    Ryan

Derek · 24/03/2018 at 13:13

Are any of the expensive rookies worth it?

How many are people starting with.

I have None.

I did have Naughton until O’Conner was named.

So far Dow and Fogarty have been underwhelming.

Right now there are just enough cheap rookies to fill the rookie places.

BVC article was outstanding plus the piece in the second JR magazine on Cash Generation taking about how cheap rookies make more cash, make me keep away.

    The_Blacksheep · 24/03/2018 at 13:27

The only one I have is Brayshaw. He could possibly avg 80-85 and be worth $400,000 in no time.

    Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 13:29

I only have Naughton currently because I am only 2 defenders deep in the backline. I like Brayshaw but he just costs a lot of money so I will likely pass.

      Derek · 24/03/2018 at 13:33

Unfortunately I didn’t see Brayshaw play in JLT. Do not sure what he can do.

I saw Naughton play, he is a tall key defender! Played ok but he will be a very slow burn.

        Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 13:45

Brayshaw's much better than Naughton I reckon, he already looks the full package..can do it all.

          Derek · 24/03/2018 at 15:04

o’Conner is out with ankle injury

            Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 15:09

Bugger!…I'm gonna hang onto him anyway, good for the swing.

    Juzzy · 24/03/2018 at 13:49

Only have Naughton Derek. Agree, slow burn, but good job security and looks like a decent intercept mark.

Don't have him but am very interested to watch LDU despite his crap JLT. Terry Wallace reckons he was a cut above all in the last draft. Think I might have just enough cash to get him as a corrective trade if he lives up to the hype.

James · 24/03/2018 at 13:18

Not many people picking Walters from Freo, am I missing something?

    Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 13:26

    I can’t trust Rossco

    GreendaleFC · 24/03/2018 at 16:17

Can't be certain as to how much midfield time he'll get. Is a big risk big reward selection.

Rory · 24/03/2018 at 13:18

Petracca or Sicily?!

    Derek · 24/03/2018 at 13:29

Have a look at Melb draw. Quite SC friendly.

Viney won’t be playing for a while. Lewis will be playing in defence this year.

There is room in guts for Petracca and he has Max tapping it down.

Sicily will have some great games and some very poor ones. It will depend on the opponent making him accountable. If he is forced to man up he will score 30’s because he isn’t a natural defender. He wants the easy intercepts and long kicks. Too risky for me, but as a hawks fan I want him to do well.

    Pitch72 · 24/03/2018 at 13:44

Petracca, his style and impact = big points.

      Rory · 24/03/2018 at 13:52

Petracca it is. Upgrade fritsch Langdon or venables? I like venables JS but guts saying him

        Derek · 24/03/2018 at 15:05

I like Venables a lot. Will put him on field

Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 13:28

Decided to come ask the community for some advice before I do something stupid to my team. First time I have gone set and forget in the ruck and I doubt I will do it again.

D: Laird, Ryan, Naughton, Murray, Doedee, Finlayson (Murphy, O'Connor)

M: Martin(VC), Titch, Kelly, Oliver, Zerret, Fyfe, Holman, Ahern(C) (Banfield, Kelly, Barry)

R: Kreuzer, Gawn (English)

F: Heeney, Billings, Smith, Sicily, Lobb, Fritsch (Ryan, Venables)

$44k in the bank

Not the greatest start with both Zerret and Kreuzer going down leaving me with half my hair pulled out. Should I be looking to keep them, trade them or do something else. Going Zerret to Danger is a move I have been considering however with limited money in the bank it would require some shuffling.

Wake me up from this nightmare community

    BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 14:56

Could trade English down to Olango and see who you can get for O'Connor?

      Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 15:04

yeah but then if Kreuzer only misses 1-2 weeks I am screwed as I will have no cover.
I was looking at Luke ryan to Cox leaving me with a lot of cash to go Zerret to Danger next week.
Now with having so many rookies who are not playing and barely any options I am unsure.

        BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 15:39

Could also just leave O'Connor and hope he plays?

          Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 15:48

I could but I don't feel comfortable with both Ahern and O'Connor who could end up as donuts. Might need to find a way to fork out the cash for Brayshaw but nothing seems great to me.

hedski · 24/03/2018 at 13:32

Can't make up my mind on the Kreuzer conundrum.
Do I wait for next week and assess, possibly trade him out or bring in Flynn (DPP) for Olango and slot Cox into f5 for Bundy to provide cover?
I kind of like the idea of being able to cover Kreuz/Gawn if they miss a week instead of sideways trading them, Kreuzer looked like going big before the injury, can't find any news yet on how bad it is.
I have the cash to make the move and still have $100k change.

    Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 13:45

Yeah I am stuck with the same dilemma. If I trade Ryan to Cox via Sicily I have cover for my ruck and I have enough cash so I can upgrade Zerret to Danger next week.
    A really tough choice

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 13:48

Hey Hed, I reckon do that..Coxy could turn out to be ok, Christensen could reinjure his shoulder anytime, then you can wait on Kruez and hope he's ok within 2.

      neil demons delight · 24/03/2018 at 14:04

Agree Russty wait but I would give PEDERSON a lot of thought J S will be good for 8 weeks. I traded Kruz for Nank minutes to go . have a dead set Guns n Rookies set up best 2 def best 6 mids cept martin gawn/ nank and two best forwards p only two midpricers flog SICILY and LAMBERT but MY 16 rookies need to make 200 each will take time

        Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 14:27

Hey Neil yeah Cam will do well without T-Mac taking points, I had him last year and he turned out to be a nice pod. I'm a bit more midpriced madness than you in my squad, I have about 6 of the buggers…no risk, no reward hah.

    David C · 24/03/2018 at 14:05

Could go English at R3 as cover. Put your loop on another line.

    hedski · 24/03/2018 at 14:11

Cheers guys, think I will go with the Flynn/Cox plan, if Kreuz is more long term I can trade him to Ryder and have coverage for his bye.

    Armonk · 24/03/2018 at 14:20

I'm going the Cox route. Figure we need to make the most of the unlimited trades and save a trade on kruze of you also have Merritt. Gives an easy route to danger for those of us that took him out.

    Marty · 25/03/2018 at 13:19

Cox is a burn man…i'd evaluate the extent of Kreuzers injury…plenty of good options if you don't want to take the risk (Goldy, Witts, Martin, etc). Just using a valuable trade you might need later on

Pitch72 · 24/03/2018 at 13:41

Well here it goes, tear this team a new one peoples..

Def: Hurley, Laird, Simpson, Naughton, Doedee, Finlayson, (Murray,Murphy)
Mid: Mitchell, Martin, Kelly, Fyfe, Armitage, Brayshaw, Kelly, Holman, (Dangerfield, Banfield, Barry)
Ruck: Gawn, Goldstein, (Olango)
Fwd: Franklin, Boak, Petracca, Christensen, Rayner, Fritsch, (Waterman, Garlett)

76k left as of RD 1

Im kicking myself over the Murphy pick, Reckon that might be his first and last for a while, will go Coffield/more solid pick as corrective if needed. No DPP available in any position yet, but i personally have no drama with that.

    Derek · 24/03/2018 at 13:50

I,d get rid of Simpson. Too old ๐Ÿ˜‰

And maybe Laird, just too small

      Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 13:52

And he should've starter Doedee on the bench, with Murphy onfield lol

      Pitch72 · 24/03/2018 at 14:01

LOL, 150 Friday night and hell probably bless me with a 75 next week, still reckon will score plenty without Docherty playing. And yes, Laird is small, Head like chicken…

Captain Risky · 24/03/2018 at 13:45

Does anyone know anything about Billy Gowers ?? (Fwd 117,500) Bulldogs -Thanks

Rory · 24/03/2018 at 13:56

which 1 of these 3 up to tracca. Venables fritsch or Langdon
I really like venables JS and midfield opportunities
Langdon high pressure fwd gws need one
& fritsch was on fire in JLT. His js any good?

Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 14:04

Im gonna get me plums out on this one and show world what I’m packing. Lewis Taylor as a pod? 0% of teams always shown potential. Rocky gone can he cement a spot in the guts? Jeez it’s ballsy

    Daniel · 24/03/2018 at 15:34

Hadn't really been looking at him at all, to be honest. But with Rocky out and Hanley injured, there are a few points up for grab at the Lions. But would take massive plums.

    Derek · 24/03/2018 at 15:35

i Got him in my draft league. Very happy

    Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 15:57

Went for a massage just gone to do the trade & didn’t realise lions played the early game! Ships sailed on Lewis watch him ton up here an have a break out year

    SCdonkey · 24/03/2018 at 15:59

Said it two weeks ago. Has been in my side all preseason.

      Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 16:11

I think you will be very pleased donkey

    Finnius · 24/03/2018 at 23:21

Solid 94 today – could be the shark move of the season.

    Marty · 25/03/2018 at 13:21

Was in and out of my side – it was between him and Lobb. Will see how that one goes.

Sc_How · 24/03/2018 at 14:09

If I have Zerret is it worth burning a trade to move him to Danger next week?

    Daniel · 24/03/2018 at 15:35

That sounds like a problem for next week, seeing as how we don't know if Zerret is out (or more likely, for how long), and we don't know if Danger is in.

Rory · 24/03/2018 at 14:16

Option 1 – petracca & oliver
Option 2 – sicily & kelly

    Abel Grant · 24/03/2018 at 15:29

    2 easily imo

    Daniel · 24/03/2018 at 15:35

    1

      Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 16:13

Option 1 just. Unsure about Sicily’s consistency

    Finnius · 24/03/2018 at 23:20

    Sicily and Oliver?

      Rory · 24/03/2018 at 23:30

Missed sicily . Kelly n lobb or tracca n Oliver finnius?

        Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 23:32

        Lobb and Oliver?

          Rory · 24/03/2018 at 23:35

          I’m open to that option

            arz · 24/03/2018 at 23:51

The injury cloud not a worry?

              Caleb · 24/03/2018 at 23:53

Barely an injury a very slight knock is all . The red nuts as tough as nails

                Caleb · 24/03/2018 at 23:59

Or do u mean lobbs injury cloud arz? Haha his I’m worried about a little more so but played two praccys they wouldn’t pick him if not 100% I hope

    BVB21 · 25/03/2018 at 10:00

    Kelly & Lobb

SCdonkey · 24/03/2018 at 14:20

I'm seeing a lot of SC players in disarray concerning what to do with Danger. Can't believe many actually sideway trading with premos that may be a good upgrade option down the track and then taking them out again for Danger that's 2 trade wasted.

If you hadn't planned this situation, suck it up and stick with Danger for this 1 round. I'm confident as Scott he'll play next week. Danger may not score big when he comes back, but will save you a trade or two and still have that option target to get a premo later on.

As for Cox/English, like Danger if you hadn't planned for this. Don't go messing around with your team, stick to your plan if had one in place you wouldn't be touching your structure. My on thought on Kreuzer issue, if he misses more than 2 weeks. Then I'd say let go of him and down grade to Nank, NicNat maybe Belchamber and pocket the cash for future upgrade.

    john · 24/03/2018 at 15:07

I think those like myself who didn't choose danger in the initial squad are hoping that he has a lower output than what he did last year for the first couple of games he plays, and banking on that he will drop 60-70k, and a player like coniglio for instance will average around 100. that means that in the first 5 rounds you break even on points between the 2 players, yet gain 110K in cash for 1 trade. thats my thoughts anyway

      SCdonkey · 24/03/2018 at 15:16

The thing is you'll need a couple of plans if going down that path. What happens if the player selected is pumping 110+ are they gonna cull that player for Danger. 1 trade will be wasted and may miss out on that player scoring, if they don't do the trade and Danger starts pumping huge score they'll be tearing their hair out on how to get him back in.

    Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 15:19

Sure if Kreuzer misses 2+ we trade him out but if it is only 1-2 I am not taking donuts. Cox/English are necessary in case it is only 1-2 weeks

      SCdonkey · 24/03/2018 at 15:37

I'm guessing you're sacrificing Lobb for Cox/English. What were your plan with Lobb or expecting him to score for you? I'm guessing you picked Lobb for scoring output. Now you're banking on Cox purely to cover Kreuzer for two weeks, then what after? I know a few people who had groin injury and they played basketball in Center position and they weren't right for a few a weeks.

Lee · 24/03/2018 at 14:20

D3 H Shaw or Sicily
Don't like either to be honest
I've got Laird, Hibberd, Doedee, Naughton and Murray on field.
What structure, i can probably get a Lloyd/Savage but not sold either.

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 14:25

Luke Ryan is a talented guy, could have a great year now that he's in Freo's best 22.

    Derek · 24/03/2018 at 15:21

Mills will improve this year. Not sure how much. At least 85+

I loved how McGrath looked last night, I see McGrath as Mills MK2.

Ben · 24/03/2018 at 14:23

Savage versus Sicily
Tmitch versus Kelly

    Abel Grant · 24/03/2018 at 15:31

    Sic and tmitch

BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 14:24

O'Connor late out – replaced by Murdoch.

His job security is poor as I previously mentioned.

    Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 14:26

The final blow to my team. I should have started Garrlett because I don't have enough rookies now

      BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 14:28

show your team mate, I'm sure we can come up with a solution.

        Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 14:31

Really? Still in on AFL website but may need to be updated?

    Lee · 24/03/2018 at 14:47

    It's on Afl website now

      Borko · 24/03/2018 at 14:57

Thanks see it now … well, I am out of options in the backline. May just have to hold him … he is obviously close to getting a game but JS looks shaky at best

    Derek · 24/03/2018 at 15:08

He injured his ankle. His JS is fine

      Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 15:10

Any idea of the severity of the injury Derek..rolled ankle, broken ankle?

      Borko · 24/03/2018 at 15:21

In that case, I might hold … I am just about cooked!

        Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 15:21

I might have to as well. Any info on how bad it is Derek?

          Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 15:25

The AFL.com.au article just says "ankle injury" DM.

          Borko · 24/03/2018 at 15:26

Tom Murphy from North is another option … poor JLT stats from 39% game time but named as an emergency this week, has DPP and in a poor team. Maybe an option … got a few hours to decide!

            Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 15:29

Maybe I bring in Fogarty from Geelong

      BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 15:39

Dunno Derek, depends how long he is out for. If he is out for a couple of weeks, the cavalry will have arrived by then.

hedski · 24/03/2018 at 14:28

Kelly or Barry on field for Danger?
I looped Fogarty so looking for a bit better score.
Holding Danger.

    Ja191 · 24/03/2018 at 14:30

I'd go with Kelly Hedski, don't see barry doing much

      Derek · 24/03/2018 at 15:18

I saw Kelly play, looks good.

      Didn’t see Barry. Can’t help.

      I’ll go Kelly

    hedski · 24/03/2018 at 17:52

Cheers boys went Kelly, Barry spudding it up.

Ando · 24/03/2018 at 14:30

    Abel Grant · 24/03/2018 at 15:32

    Walters

Johno · 24/03/2018 at 14:35

Ryan or Giles-Langdon

    Abel Grant · 24/03/2018 at 15:32

    GL

Lee · 24/03/2018 at 14:42

127K – Replacement for O'Connor?
DEF: Laird, Hibberd, H Shaw, Doedee, Naughton, Murray (Finlayson, Murphy)
MID: Danger, Dusty, Mitchell, Kelly, Fyfe, Brayshaw, Banfield, O'Connor (Holman, Barry, Kelly)
RUCK: Gawn, Nat (Olango)
FWD: Heeney, Billings, Smith, Petracca, Christensen, Fritsch (Ryan, Garlett)

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 15:01

Could get Worpel, should get a run at some stage, or leave O'Connor in the backline until he plays.

      Lee · 24/03/2018 at 15:13

I've got O'Connor in mids, was thinking LDU or Clark?

        JohnDJ59 · 24/03/2018 at 15:18

You could swap O'Connor and Finlayson.

          Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 15:21

That's what I said John, don't think he got it.

        Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 15:18

        You said you have 127K?
If it's 127k before you trade, then I reckon Clark, he's a gun.

Sam · 24/03/2018 at 15:06

Who has better JS, Langdon or Ryan?

Shake_n_Bake_ · 24/03/2018 at 15:06

Langdon or Ryan last rookie choice? Im thinking Langdon.

    SCdonkey · 24/03/2018 at 15:09

Langdon for mine, I have both on the bench.

      Shake_n_Bake_ · 24/03/2018 at 15:37

Got 4 rookies fwd already have Garlett Venables & Firtsch last discussion is either Langdon or Ryan.

    Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 15:52

This is my last rookie choice as well. Leaning towards Ryan because of his better JS but I could change my mind quickly

Johno · 24/03/2018 at 15:22

Clark or barry???

Beezneez · 24/03/2018 at 15:24

I was thinking of the following options for Dangerfield.

1. leave in the team and see what score my E (Banfield) scores. If no good will move Kelly onto field to replace Danger. Holman and Brayshaw currently on field – Barry on bench because he is in the same game as Banfield.

2. trade to L Keeffe, swap with Finlayson to mids, and take Doedee's 87. Next week, trade back Keeffe to Danger or Dusty if
Dangerfield doesn't play.

This way I can have a look at the Port/Freo game before assessing my options and can wait till Sunday to effect the Keeffe maove if I plan to go ahead with it.is move.

I was also looking at trading to O'Connor but he is now not playing. Fogarty was an option for a Dangerfield trade but I feel I already have better mid options.

I know Keeffe isn't playing but Doedee's 87 is handy and I will only lose the one trade by trading Keeffe next week and Finlayson can move back to defence.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 15:42

Option 1 I think, not worth burning a trade chasing a few extra points in week 1, I'm holding Danger as Leagues don't start until round 3.
Depends on what your priority is I guess, I like winning Leagues, rank comes second for me and is a pipe dream for all but 1 of us.

    SCdonkey · 24/03/2018 at 15:50

Option 2: Classic case of chasing points and wasting trades. Just cop it the chin mate and forget Doedee score. Good luck with that, if you pick this option.

Option 1: is the better of the 2

    Beezneez · 24/03/2018 at 16:09

Thanks Russty and SCdonkey – appreciate your views and i will stick with Danger.

      Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 16:24

Cheers mate, good luck, nothing worse than the regretful early trades made when you're stuck in the finals with only 1 or 2, or none!

Stupid Coach · 24/03/2018 at 15:29

Thoughts on which midfield set up I should go with

1. Danger, Mitchell, Kelly, Merrett, Parker – 38K
2. Danger, Kelly, Zorko, Merrett, Bont/Parker – 51K/83K
3. Danger, Kelly, Neale/Fyfe, Merrett, Bont/Parker – 62K/93K

Appreciate any thoughts/advice.

TommyC99 · 24/03/2018 at 15:29

Keeffe or o’connor? I know both aren’t playing. Feel like O’Connor more likely to play, but Keeffe can switch with Sicily in the forward

TommyC99 · 24/03/2018 at 15:30

And is English worth the spend? If so, do I put him at R3 or F8. If I put him in the fwd, I could only swap Giles – Langdon out. Got kruezer so English might come in handy

    Finnius · 24/03/2018 at 23:14

Better to put him in the ruck as it saves you a trade in the long run if you use him as cover when your R3 doesn't have DPP.

Post_MaSloane · 24/03/2018 at 15:36

For anyone wondering what to do with O'Connor, what I've done is sub a fwd premo into the guts (in my case Mundy) and bring in a west coast rookie (I brought in venables)
Next week I'll sub Garlett onto the mid bench and Mundy goes back to f2

    Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 15:37

Another reason that makes me wish I had Garlett

    Daniel · 25/03/2018 at 10:41

I was looking at doing this with Heeney but decided against it, opting for another premo mid instead (Kelly) as the on-field points didn't justify the change.

BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 16:00

Savage looks to be struggling with Roberton and Geary running off half back.
Zorko struggling early.

Billings and Armo looking the goods early!

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 16:09

Yeah BB, fingers crossed Armo and Billings have big games ๐Ÿ™‚

      BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 16:16

      Both on 40+

Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 16:01

Haven't even seen Zorko get a touch yet.

    Rick Grimes · 24/03/2018 at 16:09

Yep, he better pull a 50 point 2nd quarter.

At least Billings is killing it.

    BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 16:12

Sitting on 3 sc points at quarter time.
    3 kicks 1 handball 0% efficiency and 3 clangers

      Rick Grimes · 24/03/2018 at 16:24

He's having an absolute shocker. Between him and Merrett I'm stuffed.

SirSamuel016 · 24/03/2018 at 16:09

1. I haven't actually planned for any injuries as my concern was on whether I should have Danger in my team at all given he's missing Round 1. He's in though as I think he's too good a player to miss out on, and hopefully he's back next week.

2. Don't think I'll have any more changes to my side barring rookies if something goes awry there. Had lots of changes to my team structure in the last few days but I'm very happy with how it currently is, which is this with 27K in the bank:
DEF: Hurley, Laird, Howe, Naughton, Doedee, Finlayson (Murray, Murphy)
MID: TMitchell, Zorko, Fyfe, Whitfield, Brayshaw, Dow, Banfield, Holman (Dangerfield, TKelly, Barry)
RUCK: Gawn, Sandilands (Olango)
FWD: Billings, Walters, Smith, Petracca, Sicily, Fritsch (Garlett, Ryan)

3. C on Titch, VC on Fyfe

4. Nah, can't make it to any.

CheekyNandos7 · 24/03/2018 at 16:09

When I heard Keeffe was emergency I brought O'Connor in in defence but now that hes out should I just bring Keeffe back to have that swing with Sicily or is there another defensive rookie I can get? Already have Naughton, Doedee, Murray, Finlayson.

    Finnius · 24/03/2018 at 23:13

I would just bring Keefe back if no more are playing.

      BVB21 · 25/03/2018 at 10:29

i have same issue. keefe or o'connor. cant decide

Holty · 24/03/2018 at 16:12

To those brave enough to start armitage, well done. He is looking the goods.

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 16:21

Thought he was a solid pick this year Holty, proven performer and still young enough to get back to his best.

      Holty · 24/03/2018 at 16:41

He was on my wish list. But to be fair right at the bottom of it. I just didnt have the courage this year to go these midpricers as the last few years they have been letdowns. Just hope liba doesnt pump out a ton as he was the one I've been keen on all preseason but dropped him at the last minute

        Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 16:57

Jack Graham looks like he could've been a good pickup too, and Jaeger could have a big year.

    WoW_Trevor · 24/03/2018 at 19:11

Injury affected 79 not an indicator of anything. Lets hope he can play next week

      Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 19:22

I didn't think that was too bad Trev, the injury but if he's down next week, might go straight to Graham.

Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 16:27

I am putting all my eggs on Kreuzer playing next week. If he doesn't I may be slightly screwed because of the changes I made to my team.

BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 16:27

Zorko on -1 nearing halfway through second qtr.

    Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 16:30

Sicily or petracca?

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 16:45

    Petracca's a gun.

      caleb · 24/03/2018 at 17:10

Going Petracca means I have to go with Slightly cheaper in my midfield instead of kelly.

      So basically:
      kelly & Sicily or
      Petracca Selwood/oliver

        Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 17:16

Yeah I would go with Sicily and Oliver

        Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 17:17

        Oliver's a good pick, also a gun,

          caleb · 24/03/2018 at 17:21

Definitely going to have a bigger tank than last year and Gawn hopefully fit all season to help Oliver

            Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 17:23

yeah my bad I didn't see the oliver option after selwood. Oliver over Kelly for me

              Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 17:32

Ideally, you'd wanna end up with both though DM.

Roberton is looking the go to off half back for the Saints, can already feel the rage trade coming for Savage.. I’ll be smart give him a game and a half to show me more

    BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 16:49

He started cold in the JLT then came home strong. Hope for your sake he comes home strong.

Tyruddanaut · 24/03/2018 at 16:50

Zorko… hahahahahahahaha

Captain… hahahahahahahaha

2 points in a half:.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    The Ranger · 24/03/2018 at 17:19

    How is that even possible?!!
Imagine if you had Merrett and Zorko…

      Kyle · 24/03/2018 at 19:01

Imagine having zerrett zorko and kreuzer like me…and lets not forget im holding danger…in for a HUGE round 1

Atleast the decision to take neale over fyfe looks alright atm

    SirSamuel016 · 24/03/2018 at 17:45

At least he has double digits now?… The pain and the stench of the big turd is unbearable for me.

Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 16:53

Bonner looking very very good

    Ja191 · 24/03/2018 at 16:57

Jeez he's looking the goods 40 before qt

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 16:58

And Brayshaw, and Ryan, I have all 3 yay!

Fisherdan · 24/03/2018 at 16:56

Brayshaw! Top scorer 5 mins to go in the 1st quarter!

    BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 17:02

Fyfe struggling early. But good for Brayshaw and Banfield, both started well.

Spuds4sale · 24/03/2018 at 17:18

uurrgh Zorko

    Spuds4sale · 24/03/2018 at 17:20

it's between him and Mcartin for low score. I have em both

Rick Grimes · 24/03/2018 at 17:19

I've brought Oliver in guys. So far other late ins for me include Zerrett and Zorko. You've been warned

    Maverick · 24/03/2018 at 17:22

I’d just done the same, Trade reversed. Thanks for the heads up rick!

      FearTheBeard · 25/03/2018 at 13:05

      LOL.

      I just did Danger/Oliver…

      Do I reverse LOL.

The Chef · 24/03/2018 at 17:24

Was tossing up Kreuzer & Savage or Hibberd & Ryder…

I definitely did not choose the correct option.

    Randomcliche2 · 26/03/2018 at 10:56

Just imagine if you'd gone Ryder and Kreuzer

Spuds4ever · 24/03/2018 at 17:27

I wonder how many had Kreuz, Merrett, Zorko plus rookies murphy and Barry on field

    Randomcliche2 · 26/03/2018 at 10:57

Kreuz + Libba + Naughton on field 50k'th here

BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 17:31

Fyfe VC not looking promising

JohnDJ59 · 24/03/2018 at 17:36

Clark & Barry are going as well as Murphy did.

Derek · 24/03/2018 at 17:37

The hype around Bonnar looks correct.

I’m going keep O’Conner in defence and $160k in the bank. Next couple of weeks I might have to trade out any of my dud cheap rookies to Bonnar. Have Garlett in mids so I can trade any of my forward, mid or defence rookies and get Bonnar.

    GreendaleFC · 24/03/2018 at 17:40

Yeah I'm already looking at how I can swap into Bonner next week. If he keeps playing like he did in the first half he will make a huge amount of money.

    Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 17:50

I have no way to get him in now. Chose Brayshaw over Bonner

      Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 18:48

      Angus?

        WoW_Trevor · 24/03/2018 at 18:52

How are you tracking Russty? McCartin, Zorko combined didn't score as much as an average rookie. That sort of ruined me.

          neil demons delight · 24/03/2018 at 19:08

ASK him about the saints Trev 6 tons from irrelevant StKilda time for a rethink

            WoW_Trevor · 24/03/2018 at 19:17

I had 3 of them Steven and Billings plus Spud McCartin instead of Garlett

              Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 19:24

Nice effort getting Jack for $500k Trev, I'm jealous, should've backed him in!
Told ya Paddy would dish up some 40's, I went Christensen instead, but I just flipped a coin really.

          Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 19:20

Hey Trev, 996 from 11, not great but not terrible, had Fogarty, Brayshaw and Christensen's spuddy scores in there, and disappointing Armitage after quarter time..T-Mitch as Captain. Glad I picked Billings, Bonner and Ryan.

            WoW_Trevor · 24/03/2018 at 22:28

Yeah I got Banfields instead of Brayshaws and took Holman off for TKelly not a brilliant round here

        The Fremantle one

78 at half time, killing it

    SCdonkey · 24/03/2018 at 17:51

Watching him closely, there will be a few rookies will go after round 2.

    AuroraBorealis?! · 24/03/2018 at 18:12

I've got 130k spare Derek, will be looking to potentially upgrade Naughton after rd 2

      Derek · 24/03/2018 at 18:20

I could have got naughtin when o’conner Not named, but would have cash to trade any other rookie, only naughton.

This way, via O’Connor and Garlett I can trade ANY of my cheap rookies from any line.

Might be Barry the way he is going

        AuroraBorealis?! · 24/03/2018 at 18:29

I wish i had the same freedom in that regard. I suppose i could go parker down to Cogs and keep the extra cash. Trading Keefe to bonner next round sounds enticing.

    WoW_Trevor · 24/03/2018 at 18:37

If I drop Zorko for Curnow I can turn murphy into Bonner. The week after I'll turn McCartin into Marchbank
Then get Zorko back after round 5 for 150k cheaper

      neil demons delight · 24/03/2018 at 19:10

sounds brilliant mate sorry but gonna steal it

        WoW_Trevor · 24/03/2018 at 19:20

no worries mate if you've got the line flexibility may as well exploit it straight away. How are you going? Wish that I had have gotten Hogan instead of McCarting but I was holding cash to upgrade Zorko to Danger for week 3. That plan is gone

          neil demons delight · 24/03/2018 at 22:37

            Blaknight · 25/03/2018 at 08:52

Hard tag. I was at the game. Great signs for the lions…. Is it me or are St.Kilda fans complete flogs? To me they are worse than Collingflog fans

      David C · 25/03/2018 at 12:32

Zorko might have to go. Can't avcept this level of spud.

    Ja191 · 24/03/2018 at 17:51

I can see him going 150 next week, had an absolute shocker

    SirSamuel016 · 24/03/2018 at 18:02

      ok thanks

    Finnius · 24/03/2018 at 23:00

I have 36k in the bank which i will use to go Weitering to Marchbank.
Should i hold Sicily and Kreuzer even though i got rid of Keefe for Murphy
or
use the money to go Sicily to petracca now then next week trade Kreuzer down to whatever ruckman and use that cash to do the weitering trade.
Thoughts?

    Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 18:32

Kelly or titch C?

As a collingwood fan i think Titch will score very well. It'll be a good old fashioned game of midfield v midfield and it should be good for points.

    TMitch.

19% ownership is a long way from most Jono. Does look good although its only HT and his 2nd wasn't that good. Jed lamb closed him down when he was in similar 1st half form so maybe a pie can do the same?

    pod · 24/03/2018 at 20:43

Sicily is in top 6 defender form. See how he goes when Hawks not winning snd he gets some attention.

DavidSA · 24/03/2018 at 20:21

I really hate that no sliding rule
2 injuries in recent history before they brought that rule in
Most leg injuries are from jumping and landing badly.
Defenders can't do much in the modern game

    Blaknight · 25/03/2018 at 09:00

Worst rule in the game. One was payed against Christiansen yesterday. He slid in and had it then Ross comes in a few seconds later and was payed a free kick as Ross ran into Christiansen… Was terrible..

      Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 09:18

The rule in its current format is a joke. When a player slides in and is intentionally taking out the legs of his opponent is ONLY when that rule should be used. Too much grey area atm.

        Blaknight · 25/03/2018 at 09:37

So true. What ever happened to protecting the man going for the hard ball…

    WoW_Trevor · 25/03/2018 at 15:09

It's not a no sliding rule David. The rule is that if 2 players are contesting the ball and one deliberately goes to ground and makes contact with the legs of the other player a free kick is awarded.
Wet slippery surfaces in AFL are as uncommon as blue moons and if a player gets paid 100,000 to1,000,000 p/year to play he should be able to pickup a football without falling over.
Somebody who's strategy in a contest is falling to ground should be playing one of the english codes not Australian football

BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 20:32

Cox is garbage for supercoach, hopefully not many have him.

Brayshaw isn't going to make a whole lot of $ fast either Banfield will go up a bit. Apart from Holman, Kelly, Lachlan Fogarty, did any rookie mids post decent scores? English is the rookie that I wish I had

Kyle · 24/03/2018 at 20:50

If goldy is named solo ruck again and kreuzer misses its a straight swap and bank the 90k for a rainy day

Bells · 24/03/2018 at 20:52

Holman 7 tackles to half time should keep him in the team and a decent score despite playing in a lake. Dew will back that kind of player for sure.

    BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 21:38

    More tackles than touches

      Rick Grimes · 24/03/2018 at 22:23

Holman looked good. He'll keep his spot. It's all about tackle pressure for Suns this year and he is a beast in that department. Had him on field thankfully. Slightly made up for ZZ [email protected]

    neil demons delight · 24/03/2018 at 22:53

macpherson does it too great tackler

dontblushbaby · 24/03/2018 at 21:00

Ryder to miss weeks , Archilles again

    SCdonkey · 24/03/2018 at 21:08

If it's one week i can deal with that. He looked to be ok after the game, he was walking on that foot. Fingers crossed its just one week.

      Finnius · 24/03/2018 at 22:46

missing 2 out of the next 8 can't sit well surely…

dontblushbaby · 24/03/2018 at 21:22

Yanky Smith might get a 2 down to 1 week holiday

    hedski · 24/03/2018 at 21:38

    There goes my Kreuzer cover…..

    SCdonkey · 24/03/2018 at 22:14

Nothing much it, played it a bit to get a free.

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 22:22

Looked like he did it on purpose.

Captain Risky · 24/03/2018 at 21:35

Treloar has 26 possessions but – 38% D/E – Nothing's changed there…

    BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 22:01

He has no trouble accumulating the thing he just can't dispose of it.

      Rick Grimes · 24/03/2018 at 22:25

He's great at getting the ball but then just kicks it any bloody where. So frustrating last year. Won't touch him til he can sort out the DE.

Holty · 24/03/2018 at 21:45

Is Roughy playing?

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 21:55

Yeah just not doing much today, I was this close 1–1 to picking him over Billings, bullet dodged there.

hedski · 24/03/2018 at 21:56

50 touches with 5 minutes to go you filthy filthy pig Titch.

    Steeeve · 24/03/2018 at 22:03

Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 22:03

Wittsy, Nank or Goldy good options for those needing new Rucks..Witts 131.

    WoW_Trevor · 24/03/2018 at 22:32

Stef was pretty good too Russty

      Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 22:45

True mate, Longer was exceptionally crap though.

    neil demons delight · 24/03/2018 at 22:58

Reckon the pies could use him now

    Northerner · 24/03/2018 at 23:18

Some caution. The weather meant it was Ruck stoppage central, so both Witts and Glodie scores I believe are a little inflated. However, I must add that Witts handled the wet better than some of the smalls. He will be a solid option. Goldie was on fire early and then faded. Not sure as his pint scoring dried up about half way through the 3rd quarter.

Jack Bowes looked very good as well.

Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 22:05

T-Mitch and Sicily take a bow fellas, nice work!

    BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 22:06

    Titch as captain too!

336 oh mamma, thank you Tommy Boy!

        David C · 25/03/2018 at 09:13

Not selecting Danger and going Titch as captain looks the right strategy at the moment.

Wow this Mitchell kid broke an afl record that has stood since 1989 by Greg Williams and matched by no other than Ablet jr in 2012 ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

What's the most 50+ games in a season cause I reckon he might beat that too

    BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 22:11

    50+ disposals in VFL / @AFL game…

    2x
    Tom Mitchell

    1x
    Gary Ablett Jnr
    John Greening
    Barry Price
    Tony Shaw
    Scott Thompson
    Greg Williams

    0x
    The other 12,500+ players

    Stats credit @js_kay on twitter.

Both of Mitchell's 50+ have come against the Pies!

      DavidSA · 24/03/2018 at 22:15

      bloody outstanding!
      Cheers for info ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Thumbs up if you think we could see our very first 800k player next season

        therealsharkmove · 25/03/2018 at 07:27

Don't get too carried away, he won't get 50+ every week (history says he won't do it again this year). Martin and Danger will average more.

      neil demons delight · 24/03/2018 at 22:59

      surprised swannies not there

        Kyle · 24/03/2018 at 23:02

SCdonkey · 24/03/2018 at 22:10

Pretty happy with last two games for tonight. Titch(C) Murray and Holman made up the lost points Fyfe, Rocky and Ryder today. Cox I expected he wasn't gonna score well, if he can actually mark the yank, he'll be scoring in 80s

Jason · 24/03/2018 at 22:23

I know why Buckley doesnt tag Mitchell he has him in his SuperCoach team. Only thing that makes sense haha

    therealsharkmove · 25/03/2018 at 07:29

Buckley doesn't rate his possessions, this is clear from his press conference last year. I reckon he said something similar to his players as well, if you can remember Treloar having a go at him about his touches.
It's like Buckley is too proud now to stick someone on him

      Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 07:59

I don't thing anyone rates Bucks after last night.

    BVB21 · 25/03/2018 at 09:58

Bucks is a terrible coach. He and Ross Lyon are two worse coaches in AFL and i cant believe neither got sacked after last year.

    Bells · 25/03/2018 at 15:11

Bucks wants an early payout on his contract. He'll be gone round 6 with Pies 1 – 5.
Then it's a holiday for the rest of the year in the tropics earning 500 k or more while he does it.

hedski · 24/03/2018 at 22:23

    BlueBaggerJosh · 24/03/2018 at 22:37

    1630 with 8 players left

    nickgonzalez771 · 24/03/2018 at 22:37

Even with Zerrett on 17 and Lambert and Kruezer I’d say I’ll (hopefully) end up on 2200+ thanks to big performances from players like Simpson and the C on Titch.

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 22:57

    1700 odd with 6 to come..5 premo and Naughton, hopefully 2200 +

    Kyle · 24/03/2018 at 23:04

Il barely scrape past 2k with zerrett zorko and kreuzer. Also threw the E on barry over holman

        JohnDJ59 · 25/03/2018 at 01:27

Thanks Russty at the moment I'm not counting my points, just hoping for a score over 2,000, that will do me for a first rounder. We still have to get an idea about which rookies are good enough to put on field and such,as for the premos,we just have to back them in unless they are injured or really bombing.

    Holty · 24/03/2018 at 23:24

916 with 12 to play plus captain.

    Defying_Madness · 24/03/2018 at 23:30

Could still have a huge score DM, well done.

    AuroraBorealis?! · 24/03/2018 at 23:38

I'll probably just scrape in over 2k, might even go 2100. Had Zerrett and the C on Fyfe and am sitting on 1476 from 15, not a good week to start the season.

    Blaknight · 25/03/2018 at 08:36

1311 with 9 to play. Had Fyfe and Zorko go terribly wrong for me.

I have currently gone danger down to ablett. Had the E on holman.
Now what? Do i back in the little master to smash out a big score or trade back up to danger and take holmans score 96?

    BrownlowBoy · 24/03/2018 at 22:40

I'd take 96, saves you a trade also

      Finnius · 24/03/2018 at 22:43

Agreed. Can use danger for loophole as well.

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 22:47

      TRIGGA_HAPPY · 24/03/2018 at 23:07

I had a bit of bad luck with kruez (dammit he was flying blues 4th mid) his follow up is amazing but then teams came out Friday i had brayshaw but didnt make the cut for the dees. So thought who can i put in his spot? Nothing really around that price that i liked and didnt have the cash to go up so went down. Landed on bonner.

      Sometimes the sun shines ….

        Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 23:19

I think O’Connor is out with an ankle.

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 24/03/2018 at 22:51

One mans misfortune is another mans blessing

If cogs puts in a reasonable effort over the next 3 weeks then it might well turn out to almost be a straight swap to zerrett or zorko.

The vagaries of SC.

    Shake_n_Bake_ · 24/03/2018 at 23:00

Dont go near Zorko always first tagged and we have seen this from him before. It will definitely happen again.

    therealsharkmove · 25/03/2018 at 07:33

I'm not sure about Zac Merrett. 3 head knocks in 7 weeks doesn't sound good

JohnDJ59 · 24/03/2018 at 23:04

I take back everything I said about my rookies after Clark and Barry played, come on down N.Holman and S.Murray. As for Captain Titch you bloody beauty, you are the reason I am happy to wait five weeks to get Danger.

    Derek · 24/03/2018 at 23:41

The expensive rookies have been very poor. Cheapies are the way to go. Bit of luck when it comes to which ones on field.

Didn’t go with any expensive rookies, not even Naughton.

So far so good. Had Murray, Holman and Doedee on field and Banfield, Mutphy, Barry & Garlett on bench.

Have Kelly and Finlayson to go on field

Also nervous about which forward rookie out of Ryan, Fritsch or Venables gets on field.

      JohnDJ59 · 25/03/2018 at 01:15

I have three of the expensive rookies,Brayshaw, Clark, Naughton. Four of the 123,900 rookies, Murray, Finlayson, Doedee, Banfield. Five of the 117,300 rookies, Barry, Kelly, Fritsch, Garlett, Ryan, and three102,400 rookies, Murphy, Holman, Olango. So far Murray& Holman have been great for me,Doedee was on the bench but he will make $,had Barry on the field instead of still to play Kelly,so that was disappointing. Brayshaw gets a pass, just, considering he's my most expensive rookie. Clark and Banfield weren't that great, but at least they were on the bench. So still to come on field are Naughton, Finlayson and Fritsch. Have more confidence in Fritsch than Ryan, wasn't even sure if I should pick Ryan over Langdon.

      Beezneez · 25/03/2018 at 12:38

I had Ryan, then Venables and have gone back to Ryan to get the extra $6K in order to effect a potential trade of Naughton to Bonner. Would love to also have Charlie Curnow but one trade will do this early.

Derek · 24/03/2018 at 23:13

After long thought, decided not to keep Danger but to get TMitch and keep cash in bank to get Danger back.

    Derek · 24/03/2018 at 23:47

Have the cash to trade Fyfe to Danger if he keeps scoring like that.

Feel for the fellas who had ZMerrett. He looked ok to play.

Feel I dodged my first bullet of the year. Was all set to start Ryder in ruck.

      JohnDJ59 · 25/03/2018 at 01:34

That sounds like a plan Derek.

    Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 08:52

Good move well done. Did you VC / C TMitch?

Big G · 24/03/2018 at 23:19

does anyone think it is worth making a late trade from mclean back to dahlhaus?

    BVB21 · 25/03/2018 at 10:29

    no, mclean on the up!

    Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 10:40

Dahl avg. 5 points more and is only $30k extra, easy choice.

Caleb · 24/03/2018 at 23:20

Missed the boat on Sicily! So do I go:
1. Oliver & petracca
Or
2. Kelly/oliver & lobb

    Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 23:39

Who are you trading out Caleb?..Can't you still get Sicily next week?

      Caleb · 24/03/2018 at 23:46

Going ZGL up to tracca or lob at f5 got the $$. I can get sicily next week but will cost a trade that I prefer to save if I go lobb/tracca now it’ll save me that if I think they can average similar

        Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 23:49

Fair enough mate, if Lobb or Petracca spud it up tomorrow that'll help you make up your mind on Sicily, he did look pretty darned good.

          Caleb · 24/03/2018 at 23:52

Yeah I didn’t see the game. I think I go lobb if he really flops then i will go sicily. If lobb goes well n looks to ruck all day I’ll keep him if he flops oh well 1 trade at worst to Sicily week 2

            Russty_ · 24/03/2018 at 23:56

It'll just be a corrective trade mate, especially if Sicily goes big next week..he'll probably go up 70k week 3.
I left Curnow out but I'd love to find a way to get him in.

              Beezneez · 25/03/2018 at 12:44

Me too and Bonner. Took D Smith instead and he did ok. Also had Sicily at F4. Will wait to see how they go round 2.
Bonner is going in – beautiful foot skills and have liked him from his days at West Adelaide.

            Derek · 24/03/2018 at 23:57

Apparently he has had a couple of games rucking in trial matches and killed it.

        Derek · 24/03/2018 at 23:54

Tonight game was made for Sicily.

There are two teams that defenders always do well against, particularly intercepting markers, Collingwood and GWS.

Collingwood because some of their midfielders are not good kicks especially when rushed like tonight.

GWS turn the ball over a lot because they are in their forward half a lot. But they also have tall forwards so they tend to kick long slot.

Not sure Sicily will get it as easy as he did tonight that often.

I’m more interested in how to get Bonnar into the Bunnies team

          Caleb · 24/03/2018 at 23:58

          Thanks for the insight Derek.
I have bonner absolutely stoked with the way he played. He always had the potential to rack it up port do tend to look for him to carry it out of the back line. Wish I also went with marchbank like my gut told me! Can’t win them all.

arz · 24/03/2018 at 23:58

J.kelly vs Oliver at M3?

    Caleb · 25/03/2018 at 00:02

I think I prefer the upside of Oliver. Contested beast, increased yank & a fit Gawn. A nice draw also.
But really ya can’t go wrong with either both top 6 mids

      Derek · 25/03/2018 at 12:11

It is the draw that I like. SC wise the Dees and Dogs have a great first 14 weeks.

Petracca and Hogan will be good

    Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 08:01

    Josh Kelly.

Cliffy · 25/03/2018 at 00:52

Ok, so this is probably going to sound like an insane thought, but trade Kelly back to Danger in order to grab Holman's 96, and on top of that won't have to worry about spending a trade or two just to get Danger in later in the season?

Or should I just keep my structure firm as it is?

    Cliffy · 25/03/2018 at 00:53

My gut feel though is that Kelly should go over that score tomorrow though… You pick your players for a reason right?

      Cliffy · 25/03/2018 at 00:53

This is GWS Kelly I'm referring to also.

    JohnDJ59 · 25/03/2018 at 01:32

If you have cash in the bank, why not just keep Kelly, wait four to five weeks then trade your most under performing premo to Danger.

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 12:09

I assume you have the cash?

I decided to have Holman on field anyway.

Also decided to trade Danger for Dusty but keep $160k cash to trade Danger back. Kept enough cash so I could trade Fyfe, Oliver, Kelly or TMitch if any of them go down.

I’m now looking at that pile of cash and young Bonnar. Any cheap rookie not named next two weeks might be turned into Bonnar with that cash.

Nick · 25/03/2018 at 03:54

First of I like to know why anyone wouod still have danger in your starting line up or on the bench u must love playing catch up. I have paddy ryder thinking of bringing big max in after this round and maybe take zorko out 34 score really not good enough for the cash i paid for him. Maybe bring gibbs in thoughts. But i dont want get rid of a premium and bring one in thays a non no in supercoach

    Juddy · 25/03/2018 at 06:13

If u didn’t start max as r1/2 u need to give up on SuperCoach

    Holty · 25/03/2018 at 08:13

Agree with juddy. Why arent you starting Gawn? Anyway the Danger reasoning. Trades in this game are valuable. By starting Danger means you dont have to use a trade to bring him in. Many had Holman with the E so will niw play Danger on field. By 2 weeks you are already ahead of the bunch (if Danger plays) based on last seasons averages plus his ability to go large with the C on him. I personally have not started him based on i could squeeze another premo into my side without Danger. And also with the unknown with Danger and his injury im not to sure where or when he will play.

      INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 08:32

I have Danger. Not a problem I want to deal with later. As a Ryder owner it's further reinforced. That's a problem I need to deal with far earlier than hoped

        dontblushbaby · 25/03/2018 at 09:19

Don'y be surprised if Danger is out for another week especially if the Cats win today, also Jacobs had his thigh ice up late last night, running out of Rucks

          Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 09:25

Agree about Danger. Why risk the Ferrari when you have a Lamborghini doing the job.

          INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 09:41

Cats next game is easter Monday. Plenty of time post the niggle

    BrownlowBoy · 25/03/2018 at 09:27

Talk about playing catch up? Not starting Gawn?

I'm holding Dangerfield, a score from Holman of 94 odd is perfect.

      The Ranger · 25/03/2018 at 11:31

Me too BB. I was planning on trading him but Holmans score has changed my plans.

    GloryDays90 · 25/03/2018 at 09:56

If you don't have Danger you will be playing catchup ๐Ÿ˜‚ he will likely outscore all players even after missing a game.

    The_Blacksheep · 25/03/2018 at 10:19

"You must love playing catch up" Says the one who didnt start Gawn.

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 12:03

I was wondering who the person was who didn’t have Gawn.

Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 07:56

OMG how bad was that big yank Cox?? I can't believe he stayed on the park for most of the match. Did Bucks not see the pathetic lumbering clown drop all those easy marks? And Bucks is also accountable for the leather poisoning TMitch is now being treated for, poor kid. Bucks, your time is nearly up, time to bring back Malthouse.

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 08:26

Anyone pinning there hopes on Mason Cox is doomed. Buckley is in pursuit of pick 1. From what I saw last night he's a huge chance

      B-Mac · 25/03/2018 at 08:32

      Hi mate

How did Stephenson go? Will he hold his spot?

Picking Cox was an error that I need to correct. Thinking him to Stephenson unless otherwise advised.

        INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 08:41

Stephenson was ok. Scored 60 odd. I think plenty should be dropped ahead of him. If you've got Cox & the swingman ruck I'd hold onto him for cover. Already Kruezer & Ryder are stuffed & we are 6 games into the season

          Derek · 25/03/2018 at 11:58

How is Big Boy. He didn’t finish game last night and had the big Red Cross next to his name?

      Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 08:43

Ahh of course, has to be method to that madness. Even Pendles looked off so maybe it is a long term plan. Don't think Ed and his boys know about it, not happy Jan!!

    neil demons delight · 25/03/2018 at 11:24

you are right Bucks gotta go even MR MAGOO or MR BEAN would be better what a joke mr magoo is half blind and mr bean half stupid but both could see what was happening surely

    SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 12:08

If the yank gulp those marks, the pies would've been in it. He's not the worse kick and not the best either, he'd would have snag 1 maybe 2 sausages for the game. Maybe Bucks said something to him before the game.

Half of the pies were fumbling, can't really just pick on Cox.

Maverick · 25/03/2018 at 08:41

#lobbcity over tracca.

    The_Blacksheep · 25/03/2018 at 09:00

Big gamble and one that might pay off. Me personally am going to wait and see with Lobb. If he does well he could be a corrective trade at the end of round 2.

    BVB21 · 25/03/2018 at 09:55

both are gambles. i went Lobb.

      Derek · 25/03/2018 at 11:56

INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 08:59

Damn you Patrick Ryder. I'm blaming the robber he chased down for the Achilles injury

    Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 09:11

I would of been in the same boat if it wasn't for the bye round. I went with Nank the tank instead.

Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 09:24

Tough one. I have Heeney now and hope to have Menegola soon.

BVB21 · 25/03/2018 at 09:39

Hi Guys!

Wondering if you can help me out. Had a good start to the year so far but O'Connor late withdrawal has thrown a spanner in the works.

So my options are

1) Take McNaughton – Pros (He has decent job security and i have a few players who might get dropped eg Murphy, Barry etc) Cons -( I didn't want any rookies they were expensive and especially Naughton who is unlikely to average above 60 as he is a key position defender)
2) Take Keefe – Pros (would get Doedee's 87 points, named as emergency so not fair off a start. Can move him into forward line if i trade out Giles-Langdon or Ryan which would provide a link to Sicily which would be handy) Cons (no guarantee of game time in a tough team to get into
3) Stick with O'Connor – Pros (would get Doedee's 87 points, named so in the mix for a games) Cons (Not sure how many weeks he will be out with ankle injury.
4) Take Coffield – Pros (would get Doedee's 87 points, has a much higher ceiling than naughton, decent JLT) Cons (Not named in the team this week)
5) Take Mills and downgrade Lobb or MacLean to Venables – Don't really like this option because i think Lobb could have a big year. He tonned up in his last 2 games of 2017 playing in the ruck and with 2.1% ownership is a big POD and worth the risk. McLean i think is also going to have a breakout year.
6) Iam open to suggestions.

If i take McNaughton will have $15K cash, Coffield $10K cash, O'Connor/Keefe $60K cash.

Def – Laird, Savage, Sicily, Murray, Finlayson, ? /Doedee (E), Murphy

Mid – Martin (VC) , Mitchell, Crouch, Fyfe, Parker, Cripps, Cripps, Banfield, Holman / Kelly (E) , L,Fogarty, Barry

Rucks – Nankervis, Olango (C) / Gawn

For – Billings, Lambert, McLean, Smith, Lobb, Fritsch / Giles-Langdon (E) Ryan

    SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 09:50

Leave O'connor since his not playing and you get Doedee score of 84points. I see you have E on him anyway. O'connor will get called up in some stage later

      dontblushbaby · 25/03/2018 at 10:02

Agree, the DPP with O'Connor might be handy later on also

      I have him and I can get S.Murray's 72

        BVB21 · 25/03/2018 at 10:25

I think tbh its between O'Connor and Keefe as looking forward the two trades i most likely want to make is to bring in Dangerfield and Bonner depending on next week's scores.

I want to see Danger play before bringing him in and Bonner wasn't a one hit wonder. Although in his 5 games he has never scored below 74 and with Pittard out for a while he has good JS.

Definitely think O'Connor has more scoring potential than O'Keefe but after this week more likely trades out will be lambert/lobb (if my gamble doesnt pay off) and Fyfe.

I hate corrective trades but one of my mid pricers will have to go if i want Danger and Fyfe did not play well. Hopefully a one off but planning ahead in case.

the upside with keefe is that if i swing Sicily into forward line then my backs will be Keefe and Murphy. With Murphy most likely getting dropped i will have no cover in the backline if someone gets dropped/injured if i choose O'Connor. With Keefe i can swing Sicily into defence and put ZGL or Ryan on field and avoid a donut.

So its about potential scoring vs that flexibility. Wish i knew how long o'connor was out for because that is obviously important information.

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 11:55

Keep O’conner. He good player. He cheap. He DPP. His ankle will be ok.

Bells · 25/03/2018 at 10:02

Tich is about 40 – 60 SC points short of where he should be for that game. Clangers be damned, you can't expect an extractor to get that many touches in the guts and still put it lace out on a fwds chest every time.
Anyway good for me as I had Cripps score for my double up this week.

    BrownlowBoy · 25/03/2018 at 10:05

Did have 34 handballs and only 2 tackles.

      Bells · 25/03/2018 at 15:14

Fair point. But it's hard to tackle someone when you always have the ball. I just would think the SC scorers hand out a few points for 'total game domination' they way they hand out a few extras for doing something good at the right time.

SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 10:07

1286 points with 10 players to go.
Hibbo, Kelly, Oliver, Gawn, Mclean and Heeney to play and hoping Finlayson, Naughton, Kelly and Fritsch makes up for the lost points.

1st Round problem for my team
Ryder done his Achilles, had a plan to swing Cox in Ruck and trade Ryder to Billings. Now i have to wait if Cox will get a week or two for that bump on Howe, hoping he'll just get a fine.

Fyfe not too concern it is just one game, we'll see if Ross stops putting him up forward. Rocky well i took punt on him, not gonna make any hasty decisions just yet. I'll stick to my plan and hopefully it goes the way i planned it.

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 10:18

Also got Ryder. One way or another he's going. Tossing up Sandi Goldy or Sauce. Fyfe looked really out of sorts yesterday. But most have him so overlook that one. I'm sure plenty will get rid of him

      BrownlowBoy · 25/03/2018 at 10:23

Can't waste trades on uninjured premiums after round 1. Fingers crossed Fyfe will come good. Was getting tagged yesterday as well, which won't happen every week.

      SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 10:29

Definitely Ryder has to go, what are your thoughts on Cox bump on Howe? Really want to keep him for a while until i see a good option in the Ruck.

Fyfe did really look out of it. He'll bounce back and yeah his ownership will probably drop after this week.

        INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 11:01

Didn't see the Cox incident. Lost interest in the game, so did Buckley

        Northerner · 25/03/2018 at 12:45

He’ll go probably 1 week. Moved his elbow towards the head in the action and as it was shepherding there was no way he can argue any intent for the ball.

        Big fact funt · 25/03/2018 at 13:27

He will get a week for it no more elbow hit face but not hard

      neil demons delight · 25/03/2018 at 11:13

He did the same last year and then cracked a huge score KEEP

      Derek · 25/03/2018 at 11:35

I had Ryder most of preseason, it was that round 10 bye made me go Lycett (god help me). Dogged my first bullet for season.

      Are you starting with Danger?

        SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 11:57

Not starting with Danger opted to go with Rocky(+271K to straight swap for Danger) if this fails by Round 4 or 5

    TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 12:12

Bloody Ryder hey. Hope he didnt tweek his achilles when making that citizens arrest the other day! Still, like Kruezer injury, not good for their owners. I avoided both having started with Gawn and Nankervis. Touch wood Nank will hold up and not break down. Was a bit worried about him on Thursday but he pulled through. You could just go Ryder to Nank and use one trade, put some cash in the bank and grab Billings the week after as his price will not change next week. Mason Cox is a wasted trade IMO. Looked pretty ordinary yesterday. One trade might just do the trick this week. Ryder out and Goldy, Stef Martin, or Nank in? Your round 10 bye problem fixed at the same time. Trades are as precious as black pearls mate! Cheers Doncs

      SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 12:39

Hero one day to zero the next, he should've just let those guys go and claimed it on insurance if they took anything. Insurance are biggest theif anyway, they just do it the legal way.

My plan was, if both of my Ruck stays in park then Cox will be my stepping for a premo up forward. If one goes down in the ruck straight swap to a premo up forward and have Cox in the ruck and assess ruck option to upgrade Cox to either Kreuzer(when he comes back) Nank, Goldy and NicNat. Really want to do just one trade in the Ruck. So I'm hoping Cox will just get a fine, by the look of the incident it's careless to very low impact and Howe flop it a little to get a free.

Willymack1234 · 25/03/2018 at 10:52

Who to put the c on today Gawn or Kelly?

    Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 10:59

both good options. Just Gawn for me – slightly more of a POD pick as skipper as well.

CheaterSteve · 25/03/2018 at 11:03

Is there any truth in the rumour that TMitch was using a bit of sandpaper on the ball to make it easier to handle?

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 11:12

    And a magnet

      Derek · 25/03/2018 at 11:43

As a Hawks fan I can’t stop smiling. We have had some pretty good recruits from other clubs, I’m not referring to the Jono O’Rourke trade, but TMitch might be the best of them.

Who did the Saints get with their #8 pick last year, coffield? 10 mins into last nights game and JOM has had 8 touches including the first 3 centre clearances, I was thinking the Hawks might have done ok.

Daniel · 25/03/2018 at 11:07

Venables or Ryan?

It's a bench spot (already have Fritsch and Giles-Langdon on field).

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 11:14

Neither of them will get much of the ball. I'd go Ryan. More likely to kick some goals

      Derek · 25/03/2018 at 11:53

Is langdon a better pick for the bench than Ryan or Venables.

      Daniel · 25/03/2018 at 11:53

Thanks mate – I figure either would be a slow-burner, just want someone who will play long enough to make some cash.

        Northerner · 25/03/2018 at 12:40

I believe Venables will take a few weeks to get the tempo but will be a midfield minutes pick that will be better than Ryan IMO. He missed most of last year injured and even the experienced guys take some time to click after a long layoff. He’s got some great attributes. Throws his body in and has great acceleration from the contest and uses it well. Just needs to find it more which I think is just time and confidence.

          Derek · 25/03/2018 at 13:19

I really like look of venables

KSinny · 25/03/2018 at 11:12

    TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 11:58

    Heeney

Pridey · 25/03/2018 at 11:17

1 of venables Giles Langdon or Ryan ?!

    TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 11:58

Probably not Venables, Giles Langdon slightly ahead of Ryan IMO. I tossing up between those two and Fritsch!!

      Neil · 25/03/2018 at 12:45

I actually like venables a midfielder. Give him a couple games to find his feet . I like his JS!

    Borko · 25/03/2018 at 12:48

Will Venebles get some mid time? He is a first round draft pick and contracted till 2020 … should get every opportunity. Played WAFL last year and did ok. ZGL has two WAFL seasons under his belt for similar stats. I am leaning toward Venebles but it's a toss of the coin.

TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 11:47

OK. On a roll at the moment with the on field rooks. Had Doedee, Bonner, Murray, Holman, and Brayshaw all on the field. Had that rook Dangerfield (LOL), Barry, Banfield, and Murphy on the bench.

Today, T Kelly starts in the midfield. No dramas there. But I have to choose between Naughton and Finlayson down back, and between Fritsch, Liam Ryan, and Giles-Langdon in the forward line. As Naughton is a key position defender, I am leaning to putting Finlayson on the field as he may get more footy and score better. Up forward is really tough. Still undecided. Any thoughts on which of those 3 deserves to be onfield and why? Cheers

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 12:25

    I would go Finlayson.

If you don’t want Naughton in field, I’d get rid of him for O’Conner, save the cash.

None of the expensive rookies look worth the money

      TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 12:35

Hasn't O'Connor been withdrawn for today's match against the Dees? Appears he is not playing. Not going to pick a young rook if he is not playing. Got Danger and Olango already as loopholes. Dont need any more. I am confident Naughton will be worth the cash. Cheers Derek.

        Derek · 25/03/2018 at 13:18

O’conner Sbe ok next week. Naughton an expensive slow burn. I’m saving the cash to get Bonnar

    Beezneez · 25/03/2018 at 13:00

For what it's worth, I have Fritsch and Giles Langdon on field with Ryan on the bench. IMO Fritsch should be the better scorer. Langdon is more of a defensive forward. Down back I have both Finlayson and Naughton on the field (left Doedee on the bench). Finlayson scored an 85 in JLT and has DPP status.

Confused · 25/03/2018 at 11:48

Rory Lobb or Josh Dunkley? I feel like Dunkley is set of a decent year.

    Confused · 25/03/2018 at 11:49

    *for

    Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 11:56

Depends what type of player you want. Lobb is more likely to be a keeper, but Dunkley at his price is gonna make you more dosh at his price.

      Confused · 25/03/2018 at 12:17

Have $400k to spend and it's just about points. Feel like they will score about the same and I guess I can pocket the extra $100k to get Bonner next week. Thanks

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 12:22

I like Lobb. As #1 ruck in a team of midfield stars, we won’t score under 90 if he stays fit.

For a few dollars cheaper I like Hogan. Clearly underpriced. No TMac he will kick a heap this year. Melb have one of the best SC draws. I have Petracca at F4 and Lobb at F5, seriously thinking Hogan instead of Petracca

      Confused · 25/03/2018 at 12:41

Lobb is at F6 for me but I have Sicily up forward at the moment. Going with Lobb will complicate things. I had the misfortune of starting with Zerrett so I'm thinking I might cut him for Steven now that his concussion history might be a problem. Going with Lobb means I will need to pull the trigger on that and make some moves to get my Bonner.

      Decisions…

      Derek · 25/03/2018 at 13:15

lobb against English. Please and thankyou

Nobby Bobby · 25/03/2018 at 12:06

My current dilemma – McLean or Petracca? Petracca leaves me enough left over to go from someone like Murphy who will likely be dropped to Bonner. Then I also have Walters, who I wasn’t too impressed with despite a half decent score. Could also use a corrective trade there to sicily if he does well next week, also freeing up enough cash to get bonner for round 3. Thoughts community?

Corey · 25/03/2018 at 12:13

Naughton or Finlayson on the field guys?

    TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 12:18

Finlayson for me. I am running with him on field today and Naughton on the bench. Finlayson named in the GWS midfield and should get a bit of the pill should score OK. A decent player. Naughton is a key position player and may not get that many pozzies, but if he gets a decent amount of intercept marks, I could be eating humble pie. Good luck mate.

AuroraBorealis?! · 25/03/2018 at 12:24

Which is the better option:
1. Have Coniglio at m6 and then upgrade a DEF rookie to Bonner after round 2.
2. Have Oliver/Kelly at m6 but miss out on Bonner.

Im leaning towards option 2 because i dont love the idea of messing around with mid-pricers in the mids, as i'll be using a trade to upgrade cogs to an uber premium anyway.

    yaboyazza · 25/03/2018 at 13:08

I reckon option 2 here, Bonner definitely won't be performing like that all season, and both Oliver and Kelly are guns.

    Bit rough on McLean.

      INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 13:47

McClean is on 25 at 1/4. If Libba is out for a while he might be a beneficiary

        FearTheBeard · 25/03/2018 at 13:53

        LOL.

        Is he really?

The hell? I have barely seen him….

Must of had a few sneaky touch's.

        Will re evaluate :p haha

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 13:45

Booting Fyfe after 1 game. That is brutal

      FearTheBeard · 25/03/2018 at 13:54

      Yeh, frustration I guess.

I will be getting Danger in. Just looking for the premium who's likely to bleed cash I guess.

    SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 13:48

Way too rough after just one game, McLean mid time just increased with Libba going down the game just started he'll probably close to ton up today.

    GloryDays90 · 25/03/2018 at 13:51

Why would you trade after 1 week? Especially when Fyfe is not injured, just stupidity.

    SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 14:00

Pls drop McLean, that's one less owner to contend with.

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 14:10

    Will help McLean and Dahlhaus

    NoLanguage · 26/03/2018 at 20:02

Please trade Fyfe. He'll pump a 150 and I will enjoy the shit out of it.

Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 13:46

How did Billy Gowers slip underneath the radar??? A 117k forward rookie in zero percent of teams, who is on 27SC at HT?

hedski · 25/03/2018 at 13:51

Finlayson and Naughton need to get a shimmy on.

    JohnDJ59 · 25/03/2018 at 13:57

Looking at Doedee as my E 86pts and not being able to loop him, while Naughton sits on 1pt at Q time.

      Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 14:04

      -1 now….

    SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 14:04

Finlayson will be fine. Not sure about Naughton he's killing me.

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 14:13

Finlayson doing well. Naughton well we've paid overs for him. Already planning Naughton to Bonner

      SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 14:14

      Read my mind INP

      neil demons delight · 25/03/2018 at 15:33

same here pies Derek was right way over

    Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 14:16

What a dud / Deer in the headlights Naughton's looking like, Finlayson's fitting right in on 42 while Naughton on 0 !!

      Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 14:29

He was my most expensive rookie, he better lift dramatically over the next few weeks. Got to keep in mind they're playing a rampant GWS.

BrownlowBoy · 25/03/2018 at 14:02

How good is Josh Kelly. Pure class.

Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 14:02

GWS paid unders for J Kelly

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 14:16

The offers on the table next year will be ludicrous

      Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 14:24

Collingwood could do with him. Ed could weave some magic to get him.

        BrownlowBoy · 25/03/2018 at 14:25

        He'd have to be Dumbledore.

SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 14:12

Naughton in the slaughter house, HELLO Bonner.

    Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 14:14

How am I going to find 110k in the next two weeks?

      Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 14:25

If Riley Bonner keeps that form up you'll find it.

      Derek · 25/03/2018 at 14:32

      Find it now. Hogan

      SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 14:36

I have a fair few ways of getting him in. Still have $271K in the kitty, but that's reserved for Danger, trying not to touch that.

        Derek · 25/03/2018 at 16:09

        Same.

        Have $160k for Danger.

But same price for a rookie to Bonner

Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 14:20

Shiels wasn't mentioned much, only in 2% of teams. At $537K how did we miss him? Injury concerns?

    Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 14:27

Most would probably have been thinking more about Kelly and Cogs this year, Shiel looking pretty good too.

      Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 14:31

Very happy with Cogs, and of course the little star Greene. Shiels is value, if he keeps this form up he's a natural selection in a few weeks.

Holty · 25/03/2018 at 14:21

Gee, even if Greene misses 3 games this season from a flog act (very likely) he may still be worth it.

    Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 14:25

So glad I picked him up at a relatively low ownership.

    TheGreatBozza · 25/03/2018 at 14:28

Offloaded him to Billings last minute. Can’t really complain about Billings but Greene is looking sharp

      Shake_n_Bake_ · 25/03/2018 at 14:52

Hope he finishes well. Went Toby because really liked GWS draw early days. Even with his limited pre season.

SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 14:25

An Opportunity just opened up for me.

Ryder out, with Libba going down Macrea starting to look juicy up forward. Cox in the Ruck for Ryder until i can have a good look at my option in the Ruck. English is looking ok might just hold his spot hoping long enough for me to upgrade Cox. With the extra cash Naughton out and welcome Bonner.

    hedski · 25/03/2018 at 14:36

    Macrae is mid only Donks

      SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 14:40

Just noticed had a look at his profile. Dam it! Billings it is then, we'll have to touch $40-50K from my reserved cash for Danger

Nuggety · 25/03/2018 at 14:30

Menegola or Petracca?

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 14:34

Big price diff? Can’t really compare

      Nuggety · 25/03/2018 at 14:54

If I take Trac I can go straight from Murphy to Bonner..?

Derek · 25/03/2018 at 14:31

I lost count the times I had Coniglio in and out of my team. Did the right thing and went with Kelly, but Gee Coniglio is good at football

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 14:39

He can play & at 450 he's a steal if he can stay on the park

      Derek · 25/03/2018 at 16:07

      Kelly is good.

Didn’t like how he was on 95 half way through 3rd quarter.

It’s like the days of owning SMitchell, would put his feet up when game was won

    JohnDJ59 · 25/03/2018 at 14:40

Traded Coniglio in only because I couldn't afford 5 premos in the mids due to stacking the fwds, since I don't like more than one player from a club on each line, went the other way and didn't get Kelly.

Skate or die · 25/03/2018 at 14:39

forgot to emergency my premo ruck on the bench loophole. ROOKIE MISTAKE!

    Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 15:01

Do you have Gawn on the pine? Still time to slap the E on him.

hedski · 25/03/2018 at 14:45

Hmmm, so I have enough in the kitty to go Naughton to Bonner with $400 change.
Interesting….

    Borko · 25/03/2018 at 15:00

Popular trade I reckon … but worth waiting another week

      Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 15:06

Yup give it one more week. Naughton could pump out an 80 and Bonner crash down to earth…

    TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 15:07

Very tasty Hedski!! Almost a no brainer if you can do it.I have Naughton and has been scheize today. Thank fark I left him on the bench and put Finlayson on field. I have Bonner, but Naughton's head will be on the block if he does not show something next week. Giles- Langdon is another one destined for the scrap heap if he does not lift next week.

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 16:04

You have to wait until he on bubble.

      hedski · 25/03/2018 at 16:11

Hell yeah, if I did it next week Naughton would ton up and Bonner would do an acl.
      Bloody sc gods.

      Shake_n_Bake_ · 25/03/2018 at 16:14

I wouldn’t. There is always risk involved but a trade like that just go for it early. I definitely wouldn’t wait.

        hedski · 25/03/2018 at 16:56

I had Doedee on the pine Shake so could switch him and Naughton and sit back for a week, will be tempted to pull the trigger early tho.

ToldyaSo · 25/03/2018 at 14:49

I guess that this season isn't any different to any other. 3 rookies onfield in defence is too many

    Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 14:57

I'm surprised you say that with Doedee, Murray and now Finlayson performing to what is needed. You must have Naughton in your side. It's early days maybe he'll improve.

      Derek · 25/03/2018 at 16:03

Same. Had those 3 in field. No worries. Stayed away from Naughton. I saw Cox kick 4 goals against him and was worried

Steeeve · 25/03/2018 at 14:53

Wishing I went Cameron to English before the game…

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 15:07

Same. I was looking at it this morning. Might need to be a corrective

GloryDays90 · 25/03/2018 at 14:57

Naughton is an overhyped FLOP! On the chopping block very soon if he keeps this up..

    TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 15:11

Looks like this prick has sucked us in during the JLT. Absolutely pathetic.

    Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 15:14

Can't see him even reaching his projection of 30

      Big G · 25/03/2018 at 16:56

Have faith – just remember Shane Warne got tonked around park in his first Test Match.

        Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 16:59

I'll probably just leave him as bench cover until he starts getting some decent scores.

    Noirlust · 26/03/2018 at 12:28

Cant be too harsh. There are alot more experienced players on that team that flopped harder.

JugHead · 25/03/2018 at 15:02

I don't care how nicely you are ticking over at the moment Heater……I'm not getting sucked in again…….

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 16:00

Guilty. I got sucked in. Oh well.

BlueBaggerJosh · 25/03/2018 at 15:07

Loves fielding Naughton and Giles Langdon over Finlayson and Garlett ๐Ÿคฆ‍โ™‚๏ธ

    TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 15:14

Ouch. That stings. Naughton and both Langdon absolutely useless. Both on my bench, but soon delisted.

      Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 15:17

Disagree. Langdon isn't a huge SC player but plays an important role in the GWS forward line and will manage to make about 100k with his good JS.

Defying_Madness · 25/03/2018 at 15:09

English looks like real good cover for Kreuzer if only I had him in my team

    Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 15:16

brought him in ten minutes before the bounce ๐Ÿ™‚

    hedski · 25/03/2018 at 15:18

If Cox cops a week and Kreuz is out I'll get English for Cox and pocket $170k.

      I like that.

sc tragic · 25/03/2018 at 15:26

WoW_Trevor · 25/03/2018 at 16:00

Doedee, Holman, Fritz on the bench
Naughton, Banfield, Giles-Langdon onfield

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 16:51

    Mate, rough weekend.

I managed to have Doedee, Finlayson, Murray, Kelly, Holman and Fritech on field

Murphy, O’Connor, Garlett, Banfield, Barry, G-Langdon and Venables on bench

Fairly happy. Got most right and No expensive rookies.

    There is always next week

      Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 17:05

Pretty good work there Derek are you psychic mate?

        Derek · 25/03/2018 at 19:00

TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 16:01

Petracca is gone to the next level. Looking very very good.

    Marcus · 29/03/2018 at 10:11

hope so. I took the risk on him

Defying_Madness · 25/03/2018 at 16:01

If Kreuzer misses I might actually downgrade him to Lycett or English. I know this sounds crazy but I do not have Bonner, Tracca and Danger in my team and it looks like I will need to get them in somehow. I could trade Naughton to Tracca for instance and swing Sicily into the backline.
Is this pure insanity community or may I be actually onto something?

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 16:15

From what I've seen Bonner & English are must haves. Not sure about Kruz to a mid pricer or rookie

      Defying_Madness · 25/03/2018 at 16:20

I have literally no cash and this is probably the only way for me to get them in.

      Randomcliche2 · 26/03/2018 at 11:06

Is M Kennedy (Car) must have as well? I've got Kreuz + Libba to deal with this week, so it's a double trade for me. Thoughts?

    Mr.Brightside · 25/03/2018 at 16:18

There's a lot of scenarios, just need to see how the round finishes off, I'm concerned that some of the high priced rookies that didn't perform might not get picked next week and they might have to be corrected, but we only have 2 trades, injuries to premo's would be the obvious priority

      Defying_Madness · 25/03/2018 at 16:35

I only picked Brayshaw and Naughton from the high priced rookies so I might be fine.

    TheGreatBozza · 26/03/2018 at 12:49

I brought in Cox as Kreuzer cover. If Cox spuds again I'll be either moving him to Bonner via DPP or dropping him to English as a F5 playing rookie

GloryDays90 · 25/03/2018 at 16:14

Hibberd and Gawn are poo!!!

SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 16:23

Turned out, not a carnage for me this week, will only need to burn one trade(Ryder) this week. English looking to be my cover in Ruck and Cox in the bench if he gets suspended. Bonner after Round 2, now i don't know who to Ryder for. The guys on fwd line seems to firing in this round.

Jim_bob321 · 25/03/2018 at 16:26

Can't believe Bont….
Had Simmo in before Carlton's match then traded to Hibberd… what luck
Definitely trading Naughton to Bonner before his price increases

    BrownlowBoy · 25/03/2018 at 16:27

Hibberd struggling big time. Barely seen him

      Jim_bob321 · 25/03/2018 at 16:33

I guess we gotta wait it out for future rounds….

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 16:37

      Jim_bob321 · 25/03/2018 at 16:43

BlueBaggerJosh · 25/03/2018 at 16:30

kelly making up for Naughton, don't know what's happened to hibberd

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 16:39

Hibberd having a shocker. But he's a proven premo so back him in. Naughton was horrid. So was his team

      KSinny · 25/03/2018 at 18:19

Luckily Hibbered finished off the game strong with a 40 point quarter.

yaboyazza · 25/03/2018 at 16:40

T. English ended up doing better than Kreuzer, started the wrong one on the field!
T. Kelly also on the bench but oh well.

WoW_Trevor · 25/03/2018 at 16:43

Zorko, Fyfe, Bontempelli combined manged to score 3 more than TMitch.
I only got Zorko 10 mins before his game started, I traded out Oliver
Oh Yeah Hibberd is my D2

    Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 16:50

Jeez, bummer that for this week Trev but Zorko will be ok, just a crap week..were you worried about the Oliver injury scare?
I'd traded Oliver out for Kelly but reversed when he was named.
Suggest maybe wait another week if you're thinking of rage trading Zorko.

That'd be a good solid start to the season Trev, many coaches will be struggling for decent scores this week with all the carnage and spuddery.

Hey Trev Buddy went crazy alright, that was my other regret, traded him out for Mclean,so I would have a bit of coin in the kitty.

          WoW_Trevor · 26/03/2018 at 16:16

Yes Buddy looked great and if the Swans keep that forward line open like that all season he could pass the 150 mark this year. I nearly swapped Heeney for Mclean and still think he's a fwd keeper30,000+ Registered teams scored 0 (Unfinished team) I know it's true because 1 of them was mine and its ranked 150,000-ish. I was going to try running a team for FSC but lost interest I'm suprised SC still count it as a registered team even though it was never completed

            JohnDJ59 · 26/03/2018 at 16:50

Hey Trev that's a very interesting stat, that's a hell of a lot of unfinished teams, couldn't have been very serious about it in the first place. It would make sense for the unfinished ones to just get deleted.

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 16:55

Trev. Oliver is the King of the Hard Ball Gets

      WoW_Trevor · 25/03/2018 at 17:01

I know Derek. I should have left the team alone from wednesday. I have Kelly Murray and Finlayson onfield and TMitch as captain so I didn't get everything wrong

      Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 17:01

      Doesn't mind a tackle either!

    SC_Sixty6 · 26/03/2018 at 11:13

Did same thing Trev will Oliver not quite 100% to reports so got in zorko. Disgusting, he's already out! Oliver wouldn't have played if he wasn't right.

Holty · 25/03/2018 at 16:47

If Kelly continues like this, i might just drop Kennedy for a non playing rookie as Kelly has the E on him. Plus having the spare cash would help bring Danger in next week.

    Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 17:05

that's just chasing rd one points I think Holty – not worth it in the long run

      Holty · 25/03/2018 at 17:54

This is true but will give me the cash to bring in bonner and danger next week. Still undecided.

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 17:10

    I like it

Shake_n_Bake_ · 25/03/2018 at 16:47

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 16:58

    Insane

    AuroraBorealis?! · 25/03/2018 at 17:24

I had him in there but decided to change him to Parker so i can upgrade naughton to bonner.

    Steeeve · 25/03/2018 at 17:25

Love that. I was tossing up between him and Kelly. He has less comp for mid time and he has Gawn. Oliver was the obvious choice for mine.

      Maverick · 25/03/2018 at 17:41

Stoked to have ended up going oliver over kelly. Libba hurts though.

Maverick · 25/03/2018 at 16:56

What Happened to libba?! He definitely got on the sauce last night with the doggies women’s side

Same happened last year Pies with OTTEN but this kid does look special so does that big cat RAT something when he gets a tank Cats looking real special hard to fault them.. Pederson and English might interest a few

    Starkingdom · 25/03/2018 at 20:21

Kelly was outstanding for a first game rookie, and with Danger, Henderson, Cockatoo and Scooter to come in to the side, wow!!

    Tommo09 · 26/03/2018 at 11:41

The Cats have found a player in him
Composed under pressure with great skills
Let’s hope he keeps his spot

      Starkingdom · 26/03/2018 at 20:47

I think he'll be alright, would have to fall off the planet to lose his spot.

Northerner · 25/03/2018 at 17:34

Now Selwood down? What a terrible injury round for premos. Managed to miss them myself, but feeling for those that caught them.

    Northerner · 25/03/2018 at 17:35

Back in for first centre bounce of the last quarter. He's unbreakable!

Shake_n_Bake_ · 25/03/2018 at 17:35

I brought in Selwood for Danger ๐Ÿคž

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 17:41

    Nice. But Jelwood struggling now

117 for Kelly and on bench ๐Ÿ™ FML

BrownlowBoy · 25/03/2018 at 18:07

Kelly 117 bang. What a Dangerfield replacement

CheekyNandos7 · 25/03/2018 at 18:09

Hibberd with the 40pt quarter to finish on 70 odd. Not good for a premo defender but redeems himself a little bit

    SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 18:14

I think Lewis and Lever is hurting Hibberd SCpoints

      Josh · 25/03/2018 at 18:15

Didn't see Hibberd taking many kick ins which is a worrying sign

      CheekyNandos7 · 25/03/2018 at 18:46

That is a possibility. May need to look at a corrective trade of Hibberd to Simmo/Hurley/Savage if he doesn't perform next week

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 18:22

Lets hope that's not costly for the Demons. Looked a finals worthy side. Great game

      Tibor · 25/03/2018 at 22:41

They did both sids looked cooked at the finish Geelong made some changers in the final minutes before Gawn got that chance. It was a great game and as a demon you want to win but you can cop a close defeat if the opponent is a good one…

No point bitching about that what matters is they perform on the rebound and win round two.

It's easier to take if you score 2361 SuperCoach points first up too

        Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 23:53

Smashed it first week Tibor, well done mate.

        Starkingdom · 26/03/2018 at 20:52

Was a very close game and fantastic to watch. The Dees had it over the Cats in the second half just didn't have the experience to finish the job. I'm satisfied with the win as we didn't have Danger and others, and I know the Dees had a few out but I'm confident we can do it again.

    Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 18:23

Bloody ripper of a game regardless of result..Bloody Gawn! lol

Dees showed a hell of a lot of heart today John…gonna do good things this year…as they improve.

KSinny · 25/03/2018 at 18:16

Brayshaw, Banfield, Naughton, G.Langdon on field and Doedee, Holeman, Garlett and Kelly on the bench ๐Ÿ˜ฃ๐Ÿ˜ข

Shaun · 25/03/2018 at 18:16

What will be a par score this round looking at about 2200?

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 18:24

With Danger on bench around 2100 & without at least 2200

      KSinny · 25/03/2018 at 18:35

I'm 2075 with Heeney to go but I had Zerett, Naughton, Banfield, Brayshaw and Langdon so I'm pretty happy, should get around 2170-2200

      hedski · 25/03/2018 at 18:38

I'm about 2110 with Heeney to go, Danger on bench, no Titch or Dusty.
Also Naughton on field instead of Doedee and COX on field.
      And have Kreuzer.

    Dogs · 25/03/2018 at 18:33

Some big scores by the looks, I’m on target for just over 2200 with danger on the bench. Got 1 on field rookie wrong that could’ve given me another 80 points, other than that I missed all the injuries so 1 more round to look at everyone before the corrective trades start.

Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 18:16

Lost 139 points by leaving Doedee and kelly on the bench this week. My score would have been really up there if those blokes had started, but atm I think I will be limping to 2100.

    KSinny · 25/03/2018 at 18:17

    Same here Finnius

    AuroraBorealis?! · 25/03/2018 at 18:21

Left kelly on the bench, had Zerrett and captained Fyfe. I'll be lucky to get to 2100 i think

      Maverick · 25/03/2018 at 18:29

2100 atm with danger, kelly and doedee on the pine. Libba and naughton hurt me big time. still have heeney to play. should just make 2200 just

    INPieman · 25/03/2018 at 18:27

2100 leaves you competitive. The top scoring teams this week will tin ass picks. Always happens

    JohnDJ59 · 25/03/2018 at 21:47

135 points for me,had Naughton & Barry on field instead of Doedee & Kelly, looking at a 2,150 score.

Northerner · 25/03/2018 at 18:19

If I'd got my rookies right and played Doedee, Kelly, Holman and English instead of Naughton, Brayshaw, Banfield and Fritsch I would have scored 2501! I'll swap them next week and no doubt the others will come good.

Should be some massive Rd scores this week.

    Northerner · 25/03/2018 at 18:26

for a first round that is

Marty · 25/03/2018 at 18:20

What will be the benchmark this week? On 2111 with Heeney and Mills to go. Not sure Brayshaw is worth his $$$ and a downgrade might help me go from Naughton to Bonner

    Northerner · 25/03/2018 at 18:29

I just looked on my leagues and a 2300 score that you are looking at will be top 5%

Josh · 25/03/2018 at 18:22

Pretty happy league starts next week.. my bench has scored better then my on fields on pretty much every line. Not to mention Simpson, cogs and Mitchell all in my team up untill last week ๐Ÿ™

Zorko didn’t handle the Steele tag so looks like he’s the one of my 6 mids to become danger for next week. On the bright side no need for corrective rookie trades like last year.

Steeeve · 25/03/2018 at 18:24

Looking like Brayshaw down to Fogarty (Cats) and Naughton up to Bonner.
Want to wait another week but also keen to go Cameron to English

    Daniel · 26/03/2018 at 06:38

Does Fogarty keep his spot in the side for more than a couple weeks though? Would have thought he'd get squeezed out before he's made enough cash.

      Steeeve · 26/03/2018 at 08:14

Not sure, played a good game though. Brayshaw down is the only way I'm getting enough money to remove that spud Naughton since all my premos scored at least 90 apart from Hibberd and Fyfe. And I ain't dropping those guys.

Hunts · 25/03/2018 at 18:25

2035 with Zerret, Zorko and Libba. Will take that.

    Holty · 25/03/2018 at 18:26

    Nice score with those 3

Ahmad rubas · 25/03/2018 at 18:26

Any leagues available to join before Sydney west coast lockout?

Jrhod · 25/03/2018 at 18:26

You know it's not your year when U have Merrett and libba go down in the first game .

Defying_Madness · 25/03/2018 at 18:28

Somehow sitting on 2146 with just Heeney to go. Thought I was looking at a shocker of a round with Merret, Naughton, Kreuzer all on field and Kelly on the bench but somehow I have managed a solid score.

What does the community think par is and how are you guys travelling?

    Murderball · 25/03/2018 at 18:30

    2274 with Henry to play

Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 18:30

I ended up on 2125 – not bad considering I benched a premo in Danger, made a few poor rookie calls and had Kreuzer, Howe, Fyfe and Hibberd all in the 70's. I think that anything above 2200 will be top 5%

    BoltonsBlues · 25/03/2018 at 18:36

Jesus i must be travelling pretty good then, im 2,122 with Henney and Lloyd still to play, with any luck ill be up around 2,300
Thats with Naughton, Brayshaw, Banfield Kru and Fristch doing poor (Holman and Finlayson on the bench aswell!)

      Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 18:41

That's a pretty solid score Bolton.

Shake_n_Bake_ · 25/03/2018 at 18:31

Community what score are you sitting on before the last game? Im on 2270 with Venables left. With Doedee & Kelly left on the pine.

    Johno · 25/03/2018 at 18:34

Nice work!! You've done well to avoid most of the carnage. Me, not so much, I'm on 1904 with Heeney and Venables left.

    TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 18:40

You are having a great first round. I am on 1995 with two guns in Heeney and Parker left to play. With a bit of luck I will end up around 2200-2230. Had all the right rooks on field but had Zerrett go down with his 17 and didnt have Titch as captain. That probably cost me 120 odd points combined. All in all 2200+ I will still be happy with. Round one is always flukey. Cheers mate.

      Shake_n_Bake_ · 25/03/2018 at 19:04

I only wish l had the right rookies on Hawk! Kelly and doedee only wish l had them playing.

    nickgonzalez771 · 25/03/2018 at 18:50

1940 with Heeney and Parker to go. It's really been a matter of who had which rookies on the bench this round for sure. Had Kelly and Finlayson on the bench, and Naughton, Banfield and Brayshaw on field. Zerrett, Kruze, Lambert, Fyfe, Howe all hurt me, with Simmo, Sicily, Titch and Whitfield helping me hopefully scrape towards 2100.

    CheekyNandos7 · 25/03/2018 at 18:55

2241 with Heeney left. Clark and Barry onfield instead of Banfield and Garlett cost me 28 points. Have Danger on the bench but was thinking of going Zorko/Oliver, had decided Zorko because of Olivers injury but changed back to Danger as I thought it'd be too hard to get him back in. Brayshaw, Fyfe and Howe underperforming is a tad rough but hopefully should get 2300

    Swans2012 · 25/03/2018 at 18:58

Surprised I'm close to the mark, naughtins 25 and zerretts 17 but still 2020 with Heeney and McGovern to go,

    WoW_Trevor · 25/03/2018 at 18:59

Great score I'm on 1957 with Buddy & heeney to play predicted 2132. Didn't need any injuries with Zorko, Bont, Langdon, Naughton,McCartin, on field and Doedee, Holman Fritz on bench, about 145 total missed by wrong rookies on field

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 19:07

    2095

Parker, Mills, Heeney & Lycett to play tonight.

The SC gods are a cruel lot. I’ll be watch the last game from behind the lounge.

      Huge Derek great start buddy!

      SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 19:30

That's a massive score Derek, I'm on 2119 with Heeney to go, ill be lucky to hit 2200.

Naughton, Rocky and Cox hurt me a lot. Ryder injured didn't help much with 68 points and burning an early trade.

Still pretty happy with the result.

    Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 19:08

Travelling ok Shake, you're killing it mate!..I'm hoping for 2300 with Heeney to play.

But shit yeah rocksta! That is a cracking round one

        Rocksta · 25/03/2018 at 20:53

Cheers Lads. It’s great to get off to a good start. Managed to dodge a few bullets this week. Only negative was having Holman on the bench without the ‘E’ on him, with Brayshaw on field.
I’m sure the SC gods will get their pound of flesh from me soon enough though.

Vinny · 25/03/2018 at 18:32

L.Ryan or Veneables on field? Can change it up until the match tonight starts. What role will either play? Who will get more game time? Any suggestions? Have Ryan at the moment, but so unsure.

    Defying_Madness · 25/03/2018 at 18:34

I am in a similar situation. Need to decide whether I want Ryan or Venables in my team, they will be on the bench though. I am leaning towards Venables as I heard he may get midfield minutes.

    Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 18:41

Venables is the safer option – especially up against the swans where I don't think the eagles will have that many scoring opportunities of which Ryan will depend upon for the majority of his scoring.

      Lee · 25/03/2018 at 18:49

Would love to hear more people's opinions on Ryan versus Venables. Who's got the inside word?

SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 18:34

Been looking at my options for Ryders replacement up forward as a potential keeper.

Billings, Acres, Cameron – only thing is Rd 14 bye is reserve for Danger and Dusty

Petracca – Have enough Rd 13 byes

Curnow, Sicily – fits real nicely in my team structure.

Thoughts and thanks fellas.

BlueBaggerJosh · 25/03/2018 at 18:34

Looking at a 2300 score if heeney tons up, very happy with myself. Could've been 2400+ if i fielded the right rookies such as finlayson but you just gotta learn from it and correct it in the next round

2300 is a great score to start.

        Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 19:57

I don't even know who that is…Peter Frampton?

2230 with heeney to go, hoping for 2350

Liam · 25/03/2018 at 19:19

Currently 2238 with Heeney and Parker. Have Naughton and Kruezer on field with Kelly on the pine.

Where do you think that puts me in terms of rankings.

    Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 19:24

Right up there you'd have to think…over 2400, good effort!

      Liam · 25/03/2018 at 19:30

Cheers Rusty need a good start this year. Came home well last year but coming from 50k in round 7 is always hard.

    BlueBaggerJosh · 25/03/2018 at 19:27

    that's huge

      Liam · 25/03/2018 at 19:30

If only I had naughton off and Kelly on. Oh well happy regardless

SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 19:41

NicNat is looking good. Might be a good move Cox to him.

    Defying_Madness · 25/03/2018 at 19:57

Could be a Ryder or Kreuzer replacement for those who need one

    Finnius · 25/03/2018 at 19:59

Only 38% TOG – will need to see a little more out of him than that before I pick him.

      SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 21:56

With a minimum TOG and having good score, what more if his TOG more.

    Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 20:47

Cox looked like a blind Herman Munster Donk, might have to be Cox to anyone.

      SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 21:53

Cox had a lot upside in my structure mate. To cover any of my Ruck incase one goes down and Rd 10 bye swinging witg English. And happens to be Ryder, if the Ryder was only two weeks would been good rather than getting zero in there. In this case Ryder will be out for a while and will have to trade Ryder out and have Cox in the Ruck. English will have to the cover, Cox might get a week or may not, until i get a good option to upgrade him.

I don't think you don't have any plan in place. Or haven't been following the comments i have been posting.

On top all that. Chill it's only one game.

        Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 22:07

I am chlilled Donkey…I don't have a plan in place, I have Gawn and Nank in place, will make a plan if any of that goes bad.
Was just saying..can't see Cox in my team,…too risky. You don't need to be offended and retaliatory about it..I was just saying my opinion.

          SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 22:13

It was Risk well calculated and planned.

No more comments, you've just confirmed it.

      AuroraBorealis?! · 25/03/2018 at 20:18

Heeney is still having a good game as well.

    FearTheBeard · 25/03/2018 at 20:25

Richard · 25/03/2018 at 20:11

i should have put him on the ground instead of him.He went down now i have an injury to deal with. That premo was rubbish i'm going to trade him.All round 1 panic that we see year in year out.Dont be down on yourselves its only a game and there is a lot of luck involved.
People who cant sleep and stress out over SC your nuts.Just enjoy it for what it is.
P.S And those of us who think were pretty smug after having a belter of a round this week beware your carnage is could be a week away.

TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 20:27

Buddy Franklin, the boy from Dowerin WA has decided to come over and christen the new Perth Optus Stadium! Looks like he thinks he owns the joint.

With 5 goals and 90 SC at half time, I reckon he might be on to something.

    BrownlowBoy · 25/03/2018 at 20:28

Heeney going well to by the look of the stats.

      WoW_Trevor · 25/03/2018 at 20:32

Glad I picked Heeney! Never pick off Pre Season alone because he is killing it today!!

    Spanner · 25/03/2018 at 20:49

He only had like half TOG% in JLT so he didn't perform bad at all.

        Yep

    Vinny · 25/03/2018 at 22:07

    Got them both.
Think he will take JPK’s place and be the number 1 midfielder at the swans.
Hoping Parker gets back to his best after a sub-par performance last season.

      Swans2012 · 25/03/2018 at 22:30

Agree as per comment below, should have refreshed before I typed it lol

    WoW_Trevor · 25/03/2018 at 22:18

    Goal of the year already

    Swans2012 · 25/03/2018 at 22:29

Should have picked both? I took Whitfield instead of Parker in the end, no complaints yet, though I'll be tempted if merret misses to downgrade to Parker. Looked like sydenys clear number one mid to me, which was always my problem with Sydney mids, too many good ones, but with jk ageing perhaps and hanneberry coming off a limited lead up, it could truly be his season

      Derek · 25/03/2018 at 22:41

      Mills got Zero mid time.

Still managed 90. That is about what he will get unless he gets in the guts

        Swans2012 · 25/03/2018 at 22:46

Yeah he was on my list for this year. However He trained primarily with the defensive unit all summer apparently, I reckon 90 is his max average this year, which could still be around the money in defense…. still looks like a kid to me, another year or two

          Derek · 25/03/2018 at 22:50

That mark he took in the goal square was not a kid.

He was on 9pts st 1/4 time

With Bonnar doing so well, I’ll have another week to think about keeping him

            Swans2012 · 25/03/2018 at 22:59

True, just don't see him in the midfield yet, agree re Bonner, I think all our mouths are watering at the prospect, would be a nice cash banking downgrade for you

TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 21:49

Aaaaaahhhhhh!!! Luke Parker. He bloody gun!

JohnDJ59 · 25/03/2018 at 21:54

Looks like I should have tried to keep Buddy in my team and not worry about team structure,I knew what he was capable of after being in my team at the start the two previous years.

    GloryDays90 · 25/03/2018 at 22:09

He will probably score 50 next week. Not going to be playing WC every week.

      Jason · 25/03/2018 at 22:55

He doesnt need to he scored 183 in rnd 23 last yr against carlton and plays port this week who is going to stop him

No. You should have tried to keep Buddy AND worry about team structure (like the rest of us). His price has not changed (yet) and these points are (not) available next week.

Post_MaSloane · 25/03/2018 at 21:57

Looking at my first sub-2000 score in years. It's going to be a longggggg year

    AuroraBorealis?! · 25/03/2018 at 21:58

Who was your captain? I had Fyfe this week

      Post_MaSloane · 25/03/2018 at 22:33

Gawn. Dangerfield on bench, Holman, Kelly, Finlayson, Garlett, and English all on bench. Lycett in ruck. Things should be much better next week

        AuroraBorealis?! · 25/03/2018 at 22:35

Rough, did you have Zerrett on field as well?

    TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 22:28

Well, perhaps it is time to shut your mouth like the Aussie cricket players. You still have that carrot nose.

Kev-too · 25/03/2018 at 22:06

Derek, you guessed incorrectly. Venables 35. Oh well, there is always next week. But, keep up your opinions because you seem to know what you are talking about. Only had two poor scores on field. Vena and Dow so ended up with a VG score.

    Derek · 25/03/2018 at 22:19

I still liked the look of him.

I picked him ahead of Ryan, not much difference. Was able to keep him on bench though and took Fritech’s score.

      Kev-too · 25/03/2018 at 23:15

      I hope you are right!

    Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 23:22

      Derek · 25/03/2018 at 23:36

Thanks mate. I’ll take that. Avoided all the injuries and managed the right rookies on the field.

        Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 23:59

Awesome start Derek…you smashed it this week mate.

          Derek · 26/03/2018 at 00:38

Lycett tried his best to derail it. He was always going to my weak player

Richard Branson · 25/03/2018 at 22:09

This week has been the most up and down week I have encountered. I had both zerret and zorko along with fyfe, also holman, kelly, finlayson on the bench with brayshaw, banfield, naughton on ground. I am looking at a score of around 2050. If zerret and zorko actually cracked tons (which they were supposed to do) and I replaced one of the shit rookies with a good one then id be looking at a 2300+ week. Looking to bounce back in week 2 community.

    TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 22:33

Hi Richard, this gig makes virgins proud!

WoW_Trevor · 25/03/2018 at 22:17

2242 with a few excuses
Zorko 32 no injury he just sux
Bontemprick 63 no injury
Naughton 25 – Doedee on bench 86
Banfield 51 – Holman on bench 96
McCartin 24, Giles Langdon 47 – Fritsch on Bench 60
Would've been about 140 better with smarter choices on field. 240+ better if Zorko & Bont didn't suck.

    SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 22:27

Still a decent score Trev considering you had those underperforming premos and onfield rookies.

Pretty happy with my 2224 should be on par with the pack.

      WoW_Trevor · 25/03/2018 at 22:31

Thanks Donkey. Everybody has excuses every week which is fair because luck plays a big part in this game

        SCdonkey · 25/03/2018 at 22:33

Totally agree Trev, sometimes it goes your way. Sometimes it just goes against you, no matter how much research you've put into it.

Bells · 25/03/2018 at 22:24

Geeze I'm happy with a 2421 to start the year. Left a few points on the bench too. Venebles and Brayshaw onfield and a couple of nicer scores…

Huge score Bells, that'll set you up nicely

AuroraBorealis?! · 25/03/2018 at 22:25

2492. Fair to say I’m pleased.

    TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 23:05

You have Danger and simply missed a couple of onfield rook points. They will make you big cash mate.

Nothing to stress about. Cheers mate

    Holty · 25/03/2018 at 23:31

I avoided the carnage and still only managed 2105.

Steeeve · 25/03/2018 at 22:31

Exactly 2250.
Brayshaw, Banfield, D Fogarty and Naughton on field didn't help. Mainly glad I dodged all injuries and my forward picks in Davon Smith, Petracca and McLean all went prwtty well.
Looking at trading Cameron to English this week then downgrading another rookie the following week (Fogarty or Brayshaw) so I can afford Naughton up to Bonner. Will see how they all play next week first.

    TOPHAWK1 · 25/03/2018 at 22:53

    Hi Steeeve,

    Very solid score!

I ended up with 2245 with Zerret going down and not having Titch as my captain. Still have Dangerfield on my bench which did not produce much.

Swans2012 · 25/03/2018 at 22:54

Think I'll be spending a few trades the next week or two, first thoughts after this round are
1. bell didn't look like the 80 average I was hoping for may become one of lobb, Sicily (I'm $800 short so would need to find cash) or Bonner
2. English looked good, could be a year long r3 cover, might look to trade a loophole zero r/f into the forward line so I can use him there as well.
3. Brayshaw may not be worth the cash especially if kelly and holman can keep it up
4. Is this the year of the midpricer? Coniglio, Bonner, Sicily, petracca, smith, lobb, nic nat, all looking the goods….and jaeger and armo not putrid
Anyway I know it's round one I probably will hold but……

    Derek · 26/03/2018 at 09:00

Bonnar, Lobb and Sicily all look good value. You need to wait another week. Bonnar my pick because he will make most cash, but the other two are rough outside chance to be keepers. Definitely need another week for that decision.

I was amazed English played. Obviously the coaches saw enough improvement in him, and he did ok against a rookie ruckman. It seems there is a lot of ruckmen at the dogs. I’d have a look at who he is up against next few rounds before jumping on.

I didn’t see the Freo game so can’t tell if he is any good or not. If he looked classy you need to hold him another week.

Problem with Mid-pricers, there are so many of them and maybe the best of them is yet to show themselves. Did anyone, besides the Draft Doctors, see the Acres breakout coming?

Just one week and the best advice this time of year is to HOLD.

      Swans2012 · 26/03/2018 at 11:17

Of course agree on the hold Derek however, might need to do something this week just to free up those two trades next week if required, I already have English, he'd been getting a few wraps from the coaches over the last month so he was worth a chance at r3, just didn't expect him to be possibly worth playing in the forward line so didn't organize a swing. I reckon I might organize that this week, if he's acting as a part time ruckmen for the dogs he'll average 50 minimum I'd imagine which may be a bit better than the ryans of the world. Acres may break out but he is definitely one I wouldn't jump on this week, I'd imagine dunstan comes back and sucks up some of his opportunity but he looked good. Brayshaw gets another week your right but another poor performance will see him cut, can't have a 200k rookie warming the pine.

scrotum · 25/03/2018 at 23:03

zerret zorko,,ouch esp merret who is one more wack away from missing many weeks, merret to danger

Neverweaken · 25/03/2018 at 23:17

2278 with Holman on the bench and Libba on the ground.
Thing Libba to coniglio next week

    Jason · 25/03/2018 at 23:19

Unless u think cogs will be a keeper don't do it Mid price to mid price may not be the best option

      Neverweaken · 25/03/2018 at 23:24

Maybe another Rookie. Have Holman on the ground and get danger week 4 or 5 when hopefully he has dropped 50k But maybe Coniglio is this years kelly

      Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 23:26

Libba has to go…knee injury, gotta punt his boofhead arse to someone.

Cliffy · 25/03/2018 at 23:36

Well I'll be damned. 2,424 for Round 1, a new PB for that particular Round (one of the most unpredictable ones normally). A great C choice with Titch helped, and got most of the rookie onfield choices right too except Holman and Finlayson on their respective benches.

    Cliffy · 25/03/2018 at 23:38

Managed to still field Doedee, Kelly, Murray and Fritsch that helped me out plenty to getting to that score.

      Cliffy · 25/03/2018 at 23:46

But Brayshaw hurt me on field, and tried Banfield also which were my lowest of everyone in the end (earlier today it could've been Hibberd lol).

    Russty_ · 25/03/2018 at 23:58

Nice work Cliffy, regardless of what could've been, you smashed it…good start.

      Cliffy · 26/03/2018 at 00:11

      Cheers mate! That's definitely true.

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 25/03/2018 at 23:44

Didnt see the game but did Naughton just plain suck or just had an off game? Do we back in his JLT form?

Or was he more just a victim of the slick GWS outfit?

    Stirlsy · 26/03/2018 at 00:21

The team was poor there are problems at the kennel he made a lot of mistakes today was sitting on my bench where he will stay for another look.

Coz311 · 26/03/2018 at 00:11

2330 with poor rookie selections on field what could have been,,

Stirlsy · 26/03/2018 at 00:19

2439 Happy days Ranked 719 great start for me.

    Jason · 26/03/2018 at 01:03

    Great score

    belly button fluff · 26/03/2018 at 19:06

    Well Done!! ๐Ÿ˜€

Billy Brainless · 26/03/2018 at 00:37

2103 with lots of problems, p:ss weak forward line and too many underwhelming and overpriced rookies. Who needs to be traded first?

Worst Forward Line Ever – Heeney 105, Petracca 95, Fritsch 60, Fogarty 48, Rayner 38, Venables 37 – Garlett 61 Ryan 38.

Naughton 25, Dow 35, Banfield 51, Brayshaw 58.

Zorko 32, Bontempelli 63, Hibberd 74, Fyfe 75. (Still have the $$$ to trade Dangerfield in)

    Jason · 26/03/2018 at 00:49

Why'd? U start with a 6 rookie forward line that is FCking insane!

      Billy Brainless · 26/03/2018 at 01:09

Yeah it was a screw up, didn't really like many forwards for the price and figured a couple rookies would get 70+ and I could hold off fixing the forwards for a bit with 6 premo mids nailing big scores – well that went to the crapper.

    Stirlsy · 26/03/2018 at 00:55

Yes the fwds you had to stack iv got 5 and only 1 rookie on ground

    Sausco · 26/03/2018 at 09:03

    And you didn’t have Dangerfield??????
I would normally wait to see a player play for two weeks but you need to make two trades a week for at least two weeks to get some semblance of a side

    Sc_Wow · 26/03/2018 at 09:14

Can only blame yourself really, that forward line is horrible and you’ll be playing catch up and burning trades all year catching up. Dow was never going to be sc relevant at that price. I think you’ve missed the danger train. Back your mids now and fix that forward line

JohnDJ59 · 26/03/2018 at 01:35

After the Dees went down by 3pts which reminded me of the 1987 prelim, thanks for that Melbourne and my SC team was crap,I needed to think of something positive and that was my private league TheSonsOfAnarchy is ranked 547 out of 23,666 leagues, just ahead of Guns&Rookies 673 and The Rat Pack 966 and my favorite Jolly Roger 1,316.

*planning on trading Brayshaw to Kelly (was meant to do this before Freo game but forgot) and use $$ to upgrade Ellis to Bonner

    BadgerHoney7 · 26/03/2018 at 08:11

The fact that you had Barry over Kelly is a major headache, don't trade Brayshaw, trade Barry

      THE SALTSHAKER · 26/03/2018 at 12:17

Ahh i need the $$ to upgrade Ellis, keeping the the rest for Danger trade rnd 3 (just incase theres an injury or he gets rested fwd and impacts his scoring maybe rnd 4)

    Horse · 26/03/2018 at 08:59

Bonner might be a one week wonder. Think back to the first game in 2017 when 2-3 mid pricers did well then fell away.

      THE SALTSHAKER · 26/03/2018 at 12:19

yeah true, thought of that…dont chase last weeks scores etc another week would be nice

Paul · 26/03/2018 at 05:52

2373 with Weitering spudding. An extra 40 points on the bench too. oh well

GAZ · 26/03/2018 at 06:50

Zorko KIllled ME

Neverweaken · 26/03/2018 at 07:39

Ok Libba has to go. Option A Do nothing for this week. Assess TMitch, Coniglio, Maybe even Acres who will eventually go to the forward line. And get one of them before they rise in price.
Option B Do nothing this week and assess Rookies I dont have. (But seem to chosen wisely so far)
Option C Buy TMitch Coniglio or Acres now.
Coniglio I think will be the new JKelly. Cant see a downside to getting him now at that price. And they play Collingwood
Acres as a mid forward. Cant see a downside at that price. And they play North
TMitch. Maybe watch against Geelong. Surely they will tag him. Or be somewhere nearby for parts of the game.
Money no object. 556k in the bank
Gut says get Coniglio now.

    Joeblow · 26/03/2018 at 08:56

Usually one should wait another week, however with so much reserve money which is crazy, perhaps get Titch. Coniglio will not be the new Kelly. They played a week team and you will find Coniglio will often tag in close games.
Better reassessing the rooks after round 2. No doubt fools will trade out Dow this week, however he can play.

BadgerHoney7 · 26/03/2018 at 08:10

When you trade Buddy out last minute for Heeney, scored 2263

    TommyC99 · 26/03/2018 at 18:49

Still a good decision in the long run mate

Sc_Wow · 26/03/2018 at 09:20

2270 this week, not too bad considering the rough start with Kruse and Zerrett. Feeling like Bombers will be careful with Zerrett and it might effect his positioning and point output.

Not surprised with some of the scores in other people’s teams. Bell was always going to score poorly, and for those structuring around cox, how’d that work out? He looks horrible.

    BigBill · 26/03/2018 at 09:47

You're already 400 off the pace and ranked below 20,000 yet still you you act like a smartar$e who knows something about this game. Go away fool your input is fetid.

      Sc_Wow · 26/03/2018 at 10:05

Did I miss the memo about SC not being a 23 round game?? I see plenty of those top teams without danger, and having a good round with franklin, 400 is not that far way. Might need to do your math on the rankings too.

2270 is a grat score with a promo going 17, I'd love to know how you go this season BigBill. Fool

        Captain Risky · 26/03/2018 at 10:24

I checked quite a few of the top teams for the round and nobody had Danger, so it will be interesting to see how that pans out over the next few weeks/ season.
Still, some huge scores round one and some are off the a flyer.

          Sc_Wow · 26/03/2018 at 10:39

Yep I had danger sitting on bench, he makes up points very quickly.

        Moustachio · 26/03/2018 at 14:20

        > Bell was always going to score poorly, and for those structuring around cox, how’d that work out? He looks horrible.

Yes, you did miss the memo apparently. Sit down mate.

          Sc_Wow · 26/03/2018 at 14:24

Not sure why you’re trying to get at there? Are you arguing that bell and cox are good selections? And the SC is a 1 round game?

      GloryDays90 · 26/03/2018 at 10:34

Big Bill You are a Flog. Get off the page!

        Tibor · 26/03/2018 at 14:41

Easy does it fella. We need the likes of Big Dill from time to time just to remind the rest of us that a bit of banter about footy is supposed to be fun without being a rude pig…

    SCdonkey · 26/03/2018 at 11:35

I have Cox in my structure but wasn't based around him. Was more based around Ryder, just my luck it didn't go as planned. But still had plan for this situation, and it is a marathon not a sprint, sprint doesn't start during bye rounds.

Funny how many people in this community already bragging after 1 game, and people are already thinking they've crossed the finish line. Good on ya having a good score on the 1st round and good luck to ya for the rest of the season.

      Sc_Wow · 26/03/2018 at 11:40

Thats it, defiantly a long road ahead. I feel like those with high scores this week won't have the strongest scores in the upcoming weeks either. Whats your plan for cox? Because he truly did look horrible, his dropped mark count was probably higher than his score.

        Dojo_Warrior · 26/03/2018 at 11:47

I had same situation, based around Ryder and had Cox in at F5 in place of Christensen to cover bye. Am thinking Ryder to Nic Nat, and upgrade Cox this week. Luckily I had 100k in bank so have 508k for a Fwd, unsure who to go for though!

        SCdonkey · 26/03/2018 at 12:12

Plan was if Ryder or Gawn goes down for a short term, I'll swing Cox via English to cover. If Gawn or Ryder(specially Ryder) goes down on a long term. Then Cox would've been my cover for a short term until i can upgrade him to a better Ruck option.(liking the look of NicNat at this stage)
Since Cox might get a week suspension, thankfully English put his hands up for Ryder and Cox to cover for them.
As for Ryder who will be out for a while, is a definite trade up foward. Liking Curnow, Billings or Acres not sure yet. Will need to watch all the replays on who has the upside to bring in. And pocket the extra cash for Cox uprade cause i don't need him to cover for Ryder in Rd10.

Fwd will look like this after I trade Ryder
??? Heeney, McLean, Smith, Taylor, Fritsch.

Ruck maybe for a couple weeks will be
        Cox, Gawn and English

          Truthtella · 26/03/2018 at 16:49

With Michael Christian being the Whole MRP that really puts Eddie in charge of MRP. That would normally be a help to Collingwood players but in the Cox instance they might want him out to deprive the rest of us of the comic relief

        BigBill · 26/03/2018 at 15:52

"I feel like those with high scores this week won't have the strongest scores in the upcoming weeks.." sounds like you're worried a bit there fella. This talk would only come from someone that's falling behind.

          SCdonkey · 26/03/2018 at 15:57

How did you know? Oh well! My season is done and dusted, better luck for me next year then.

            Sc_Wow · 26/03/2018 at 16:06

Bill you’ve got no clue. How about you look at everything that is written before you comment. Most of the top teams have no danger they will fall off. Feel free to add me as a rival I’m sure you will so far behind me come the end of season

              BigBill · 26/03/2018 at 16:15

              ..aaand if they get Danger??

                Sc_Wow · 26/03/2018 at 16:35

They will need cash. You’re being pretty quite about your team. Sorry if I offended you about your bell or cox selections.

          Hymie · 26/03/2018 at 16:53

What time do they do your afternoon meds Bill?

        Theoriginalforce · 26/03/2018 at 22:24

Selecting Cox made me go English at r3. So if English goes OK saves a trade and Cox is still a stepping stone like intended.

      TheGreatBozza · 26/03/2018 at 12:46

I made a big mistake of going Christensen > Cox over upgrading Olango > English. I think Cox played horrible and still managed a 40. My worst case scenario is I'll swing him to my backline via DPP and drop him to Bonner, pending their performance this week

Crocadoc · 26/03/2018 at 09:30

The worrying downward trend of SC numbers continues. When I commenced SC about 6-7 years ago there were 450K playing this fun game. Last year it had dropped to 215K and now sadly to $180K.
There are a number of reasons. The sticking point for me is as a life time daily purchaser of the Herald Sun, I now have to buy SC gold because I do not get the paper delivered home. It is only money but!
# Little Flinders cricket club defeated Main Ridge yesterday to gain promotion to a Provincial to compete against the big boys. Unfortunately poor sportsmanship was displayed by Main Ridge’s captain-coach.

    Derek · 26/03/2018 at 10:43

there used to be many coaches with multiple teams in years gone by. they have cracked down on that, so previous numbers might have been inflated.

I had mates who used to play, they always complained about the bye rounds. made it too hard for the average player.

      Crocadoc · 26/03/2018 at 11:26

Yes, good point Derek. I still have a mate who puts a team in for his wife!!!!!!! I have tried to convince him that is time consuming enough to manage one team let alone two.
What was your score Derek and did you go for Cyril?

        Derek · 26/03/2018 at 12:11

my son puts a team in every year. always starts well, but eventually he loses interest and i try and keep it going for him.

I had a nice start. managed 2429, and i didn't start Cyril, but as a hawks fan i'll just enjoy the show.

          Crocadoc · 26/03/201
