  1. Imgonnalose says:

Thanks for the cracking, crutchular area stimulisation this year boys! And to the community – good luck to everyone for the next 2 weeks and your Pre season research!

My question: I have 945000 to spend on a mid and a fwd, who do I go with?

  2. Joshua says:

Is Neale a goner? Of course when I trade him in 🙁

    • Cogla13 says:

I am hearing he might miss the last 2 games, he's been playing sore.

      • Russty_ says:

What's your source?, I didn't see it anywhere.

          • Russty_ says:

Oh ok cheers Josh, strange how there's no mention of this on the AFL website or the Herald Sun site.

        • Stirlsy says:

Ill watch news ross will tell all he on in 20mins

        • Stirlsy says:

OK Russty this is what the Boss just said about Neale, yes i heard that going around this morning and i spoke to him and he is sore and shouldn't have played on the weekend.
He will have an easy week and see how he comes up for this week but hasn't been ruled out for this week or the week after.
And more tomoz as the man himself is on news tomorrow nite, might get a better answer then.
Hope that's some help Russty but we are talking Freo hardest team to get much out of.

          • Russty_ says:

Cheers Stirlsy, you're a gentleman mate, Hope Neale can lift himself to see out the last few games to play for some pride, bit of a bummer how the general public are always the last ones to know, if I'd known about this, I wouldn't have brought him in, as I'm sure Josh wouldn't have.

            Thanks again mate.

    • Swans2012 says:

No Neale will make things……interesting…..I mean that in a horrified bad sort of way……

      • Russty_ says:

Yup…sure will!….I'm hoping he just opts to see the season out, and then gets his issues taken care of, rather than sitting the rest of it out.

        • Stirlsy says:

As you have probably read he is out this week hopes to be able to play last game. But he will require surgery on both groins at end of season so hard to see any reason he plays again this year IMO.

          • Russty_ says:

Dangit!….thanks for the news Stirlsy, haven't had a chance to check today, cheers mate.

          • Swans2012 says:

Neale and Selwood to trade with one trade left…….interesting….I guess its hold Neale and hope…..

            • Russty_ says:

How much cash Swans?…can you get an ultra-premo trading Selwood? otherwise, maybe trade Neale…give yourself the best chance of winning.

              • Swans2012 says:

Yeah it's a tough call, no cash but I can swing Lloyd in for cover for one of them and still have rookie loophole options for what they are worth, just thinking if there is a chance Neale plays next week then he'd be best to hold, but as stated above I can't see any benefit that'd make freo play him next week.

  3. Good Times says:

    Farewell Golden Oldies
    Scott Thompson
    Jobe Watson
    Steve Johnson
    Josh Gibson
    Luke Hodge
    Ivan Maric
    Nick Riewoldt
    Sam Mitchell
    Matt Priddis
    Matthew Boyd
    Robert Murphy

    • Tibor says:

      Pretty impressive list

Any chance of Razor Ray hanging up his whistle and massive "look at me" attitude so we can really celebrate

    • Russty_ says:

Add James Kelly too, he was one of the good ones at Geelong for awhile.

    • Smote says:

See ya later and thanks for the memories Zac Dawson.

  4. jockreynolds says:

Flux. Sad. Part of life. We stand on the shoulders of giants

  5. Paule says:

    NEED HELP!!!
this is my team, I have 2 trades left and want to use em this week to get into the final of my cash league at work. What to do?

    DEF: S.Docherty, T.Adams, J.Lloyd, M.Hibberd, N.Newman, H.Shaw, L.Ryan, B.McNiece

    MID: P.Dangerfield, T.Mitchell, M.Bontempelli, M.Murphy, R.Slone, D.Heppell, T.Rockliff, S.Selwood, D.Myers, D.Mountford, S.Bolton

    RUC: S.Mumford, M.Gawn, T.Nankervis

    FOR: E.Yeo, L.Franklin, L.Dahlaus, JSteele, I.Heeney, H.Greenwood, J.Stewart, L.Strnadica

Only have $41,300 in the bank. The wisdom of the community would be very much appreciated. Thanks for your help.

    • Imgonnalose says:

Why don't you have Macrae??? The only forward you need
Nank to Macrae and greenwood to a rookie

    • Ruddigar says:

Do you need those three in the ruck. You could move the Nank forward and trade him to free up cash. I'd stick with Gawn despite his terrible weekend score. This was the result of some of the worst umpiring ruck decisions ever and though they won't admit it it would have to have been addressed and unlikely to re occur if you have doubt check video for yourself.

Maybe one short in the midfield???

    • Rocksta says:

Nank to Soldo, Myers to Beams or Zerrett.

    • Paule says:

OK so I'm thinking of a bit of a shark move. let me know what you think? Trade out Greenwood and Ryan for Laird and Brayshaw.

      • Paule says:

        and moved Nank forward

      • redherringfc says:

The risk with those trades is that the guys you are trading out are a good chance to outscore the ones you are moving in. Bradshaw only scored 91 and from watching the game he slowed a lot in the 2nd half. 2nd game back can be well below the first. Laird has not been great lately.

I'd go with one up and one down. Nank almost certainly is the 1st to go, put Strnadica in the ruck, bring in a cheapy. I'd probably bring in Hurley for one of the defenders, Newman for mine.

If you want to roll the dice pick a key position forward who is cheap and might kick a bag.

  6. Stirlsy says:

Congrats Higgo on yr DRAFTSTARS win. Not far away Jock yr turn will come.

  7. Steeeve says:

I can't recall the term but it defines players who seemingly have exited premiumhood, then bounce back for one more beastly year.
Who are some candidates next year? I'm thinking JPK.

    • Stirlsy says:

Is that the term yr looking for?

      • Steeeve says:

        Could be
Seem to recall Higgo wrote about it in the magazine back when.
        Im thinking:
Both should be steals and history shows blokes are capable of having one more massive year around that 30 mark.

Fyfe and Hanners present value next year as well but are still right in their primes.
I'll also be looking closely at Cripps. And Nic Nat.

        • The Ranger says:

It was in one of the mags wasn't it Steeeve? Buffalo Bounce? Was that it?
It's used to describe an ageing prermo who has a bit of a drop off one year but then, having realised their mortality, smashes out a great year the next time around.
Pendles, Selwood, JPK, there's a few that could do it.
I'll be backing in Pendles if he has a good preseason, injury and pregnancy did for him this time around.

          • Derek says:

the Buffalo Bounce refers to key position Forwards.

Due to their large standard deviation in scores and their relatively high Starting price, the KPF will nearly always drop in price in the first half of the season. Then due to the same effect of a large standard deviation they will rise in price in the second half of the season.

not sure why it is called a Buffalo Bounce…… i have heard of dead-cat bounces.

    • Stirlsy says:

Fyfe for me but his already turned it around.

    • Swans2012 says:

    • neil Demons Delight says:

Dahlhouse for mine too good to be that poor

      • Steeeve says:

Will be a starter in my team again next year Neil. Even if he's not quite been himself this season.

Hopefully Bont and Robbie Gray can join him up forward.

      • Tibor says:

If Max Gawn is fit and healthy he will be a monster

      • Tyruddanaut says:

It depends on his JS in inside midfield. The dogs have about 5 so do a lot of rotations

    • Russty_ says:

Bugger all past premos for me next season, I'll be looking towards the new crop coming through…could end up being a disaster year but at least I'll learn who's coming through in the new generation.

    • Smote says:

A few reliable premos were revealed to have chinks in their armour this year and require careful consideration for SC '18.
Sloane who can't handle a tag.
Rockliff…shoulder stuffed plus coach gave him his first ever tagging job.
Pendles…getting on and durability now has a possible ?
Ablett jr…as above, plus heart not in it at GC.

As mentioned above, will be considering:
      Jack Steven
      Bring on next year.

      • Derek says:

i fear the game may have become too fast for JPK. Not as many stoppages so he is out of the game too much.

my first picked next year will be MCrouch.

Others high on my list will be:

        Jack martin
        lewis taylor

        • Stirlsy says:

I'm quite big on Whitfield for next year as well Derek, if Kelly departs GWS he will be the one to grab.

      • SC_Kev7 says:

If Gaz made it to the Cats would you consider him, Smote?

        • Smote says:

Gaz as a pure mid, no mate. Durability just is not there unfortunately.
          2017 14 games (won't add to this)
          2016 14 games
          2015 6 games
          2014 15 games
Saving your trades so critical to this caper….

        • Smote says:

JPK ave disposals this year…. 28. Ranked 16th overall.

But i take on board your point Derek…out of the top 15 ranked players (for highest ave disposals) to play 15 or more games this year only Mark Murphy and JPK are over 29 years of age.

Definitely need to consider the younger crop coming through.

McGrath… too many lockdown roles on small forwards?

Really like MCrouch, Oliver, Menegola, Blakely and Hopper as choices…especially Hopper with an injury free preseason and possible new club.

    • Derek says:

you are talking about the "Mammoth Curve"

discussed in detail in the first Jock magazine.

Like a mammoth who knows they are heading for extinction, they harden themselves for one last crack at it.

      Pendlebury is a good example

      • The Ranger says:

That's it Derek, the Mammoth Curve!
That was doing my head in…

      • Steeeve says:

Thats it! Agree on Pendles. JPK will be very tempting at his price. Cant think of too many others.
Reason I brought it up, everyone is talking about the next generation. These traditional beasts could be real pods.

    • Russty_ says:

Tyrone Vickery, if he can get back to his best and stay out of injury trouble, he could get back to averaging 50 points per game 🙂

  8. ahmad rubas says:

whats the better trade bring in martin in my midfield because my opponent has him and i can cover his score if he goes massive or bring in crouch who my opponent doesnt have

  9. Tyruddanaut says:

Which retirees were better? This years or 2007s? 2007 had Archer, Hird, Kouta, Bucks, and more that I can't name off the top of my head

    • Don't Blush Baby says:

      Riccuitto,Grant & Darcy in 2007- arguments for both ,personally I prefer 2017

    • Derek says:

I'm fearing a fremantle press conference…………… will Zac Dawson retire this season? I'll be devastated.

      • Tibor says:

Has a garbage truck pulled up out front?

      • neilDemons Delight says:

Hawks might chase him for gobbos spot Logical replacement think of it Derek Cyril and Zac in the Bunnies

        • Derek says:

a big Home Coming for the ex-hawk.

he has been kicking a few goals in the WAFL

    • Derek says:

Gibbo and Bob added to the list.

  10. Don't Blush Baby says:

Just looking at the injury list on the AFL site it happens every year where the teams that are in contention have the least amount of significant injuries

  11. Rocksta says:

Ok, this is doing my head in. 2 trades left going into a prelim this week. Do I:

    1) Jelwood to Dusty/Matt Crouch and Ryan to Grimes( will be bench cover). This will leave me with no cover in the fwd line.
    2) Jelwood to Rocky and Goldy to Heeney via Ryder into Ruck. Leaves me with cover on all lines
    3) Jelwood to Sloane and Goldy to Wallis via Ryder into Ruck. Leaves me with cover on all lines.

    Help desperately needed.

    • Swans2012 says:

      2. Better to prepare for the worst…… and rocky and Heeney score more than wallis and Sloane from here imo

I'm considering similar problems although the potential for Neale out may change things

    • neil Demons Delight says:

no 2 but not sure on Rocky will get the vince tag this week would go m crouch

      • Swans2012 says:

I think Zorko gets that tag?

        • Swans2012 says:

Or even beams or rich ahead of current form rocky?

          • Derek says:

for a moment there, i thought you were saying to pick Rich…….. phew.

            • Tibor says:

Why would Melb tag any of this lot, surely if you are a prospective finals team playing the bottom side you back your own players to get the job done and play attacking rather than defensively. Doesn't matter to Melb if Rocky scores 150 plus but has little impact on the result

        • neil Demons Delight says:

Zorko might get Bugg wouldn't that be something. but I do agree Swans he will get tagged too

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Like #2 out of those options Rock.

    • Russty_ says:

Agree with these wise heads above me Rocksta, go for 2 and trust Rocky can come through for ya.

    • Neilsa Demon says:

must have cover so no. 3

  12. Pete says:

    Rank 260
in all 10 finals this week
    13 k n 2 trades left

doc laird adams Lloyd hibbard newman
    ryan ( hibbard n/a )
danger Mitchell d martin oliver m crouch bont kellly fyfe
    greenwood ( witherden cousins n/a )
    goldy gawn ( strndraca )
mcrae yeo nank heeney j kennedy dalhoues
    burton ( eddy )

    thoughts on this week ??

    • B rian says:

Congrats Pete, great year. wait for team news but Goldi probably gona get dropped and I wouldn't like to be going into finals with Nank in my team. Id be moving both on.

  13. Don't Blush Baby says:

2,1 & 3 IMO only ,I also have 2 trades with a similar situation and want to have each line covered for any unexpected carnage

  14. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

Just got a new S8 phone.
Stuff me this thing is fast!!
And the stuff you can do – mind blowing.
I know not SC related but wow just wow.

Back on track with Neale likely to miss and others missing those teams with trades at the pointy end now in the box seat.

A Stephen Bradbury could come from the clouds.
Be an interesting next couple of weeks.

    • Russty_ says:

Nice pick up Trigger, new technology is always a bit of fun, I'm still rocking an S4 here…lol, as I don't use it for online stuff and prefer a cheap plan, yeah Neale is a bit of a worry…and Sloane for me, could be a crash and burn scenario here, just have to wait and see.

    • Swans2012 says:

Im writing this through the cracked screen of an iPhone 7, not replacing the screen until after sc finals as the way things are going I can see it copping some (more) abuse

      • Russty_ says:

Just don't throw the I-phone at the TV Swans, you don't need 2 cracked screens in one go lol

    • Tyruddanaut says:

      S8 actually stands for Supercoach-Using-Device-Version 8

  15. jamie says:

Charlie Dixon am i crazy, leaves me more for a replacement. If not billings or heeny?

also is looping j lloyd and L ryan a safeish play for d6??

  16. Derek says:

there is a generation of AFL retiring this season.

the game is fast and furious. The old blokes (except for Silk) just can't keep up. It is a young man's game now, especially supercoach.

    • jockreynolds says:

Spot on Derek – it's why draft picks are as important as they've ever been. Kids bought up with a new style of game

      • Tibor says:

I reckon the more things change the more they stay the same rule applies here Jock. There's always a place for a bloke who wins his own ball. Tom Mitchell could be the must have player of the younger group. Tag doesn't seem to effect him, plays every week, scores well in a middle of the ladder team…consistency……

    • Derek says:

Working on Jock's infamous theory of the supercoach void, there will be need to be some serious research done this pre-season on who is going to fill the gaps left my all the retiring players. The hawks young players, Howe, Burton, hardwick, Sicily showed what happens when you take away birtchell, Stratten, Gibson and frawley.

      • Ostrich says:

        Birchell still good enough.

        • Ruddigar says:

Probably gets a game but not if they want to move back up to being a finals contender

          • Derek says:

he didn't play much this year, that gave an opportunity to hardwick. that is what i'm saying, look for the voids created by the retiring players

            • Tibor says:

Great call that works for rookies getting opportunities and good players who have been around a few years ( mid price ), finally getting a role that allows them to bloom well said Derek

              • Derek says:

Players who change clubs to fill a new role, also worth looking at

                • Whatyasmokin says:

Yep there were some cracker mid price players in that department this year. Then there's the return from injury lot where diamonds in the rough can be found, at the same time burns can be severe.

  17. Thomas says:

    Hey community,
So sadly, this season is coming to a close. This was my first season that i took supercoach seriously and surprised myself by being inside the top 4000 atm and playing in 6 finals this week. Would like to thank the community for all your words of wisdom, played a pivotal role in my ranking and i throughly enjoyed each and every post on this website.

I am wanting to plan for next year and was wondering how i should start. I want to do a full supercoach pre season and not sure how i should go about it. Thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated!
    Cheers community

    • SC_Kev7 says:

Congrats on your year, Thomas! Brilliant stuff. Preseason kicks off around December on this site, so stay tuned. There will be player reviews for 2018 and some awesome supercoach wisdom from the best minds in the business.

Be sure to get amongst the comments too. Some real nuggets of gold can be found

    • neil Demons Delight says:

Congrats on a wonderful year Thomas. I think the one big tool you need is Jocks Magazine believe me don't hesitate full of vital imfo by many on this site. Second is definitely watch your trades look at whats happening now … don't ever be trigger happy and give your rookies time 2 bad games doesn't mean the chop and above all be wary of the flavour of the month mitch hannan comes to mind.Thirdly make sure you have plenty of DPP Cover on all lines including rucks I chose Soldo late when Strd would have saved me. Have all your info on hand to make critical decisions early there are some in my book that have a big red line thru them this early..Rance Treloar Pendles ablett .Jpk Franklin and yes I do expect criticism on some of these but not in my team ever good luck my friend

      • Derek says:

i always look forward to seeing Higgos analysis of his team and the good/bad trades he made, and also the analysis of the winners team and see what set them apart this year.

spend the early pre-season working on your structure and game plan, the names can be fitted in later. set a few guidelines IE: will not pick a player who is an injury waiting to happen. Must do Full pre-season etc.

      • dan says:

Absolutely sound advice. No line through Heater ? Thought he would be no 1 no go in future.

      • Whatyasmokin says:

Problem is you also have to put the previous year behind you or you can end up burning yourself.

Ie JPK might have the preseason of his career in 2018 and be a good price.

You might pay top dollar for some success stories of 2017 yet they crash and burn next year. Leaving you low on cash and trades.

Every year is a new conundrum and whilst you take data from the last a heck of a lot can change as we've seen.

  18. Shake n bake says:

This is my midfield Fyfe Parker Merrett Heppell Wines Mitchell Bont Treloar & Ebert thinking trade Ebert to Danger but then who do l bench?? My other trade if l do it is Lynch to Pederson just want to see how Greenwood goes Friday night 1st.

    • neil Demons Delight says:

got to be either treloar or wines who was lucky Pederson looks really good pod choice only problem is they want Watts in who also gives a contest in the ruck maybe there is room for both

      • JohndJames says:

You would think we have to keep Cam.in the team after last week Neil.

  19. TheGreatBozza says:

I'd like to see Jock Reynolds create a Supercoach hall of fame. Recognise some of those players who were great servants of our supercoach sides. It will be a chance to recognise some of the supercoach stalwarts over the years. Some of the past superstars that come to mind are Chad Cornes, Scott Thompson, Joel Bowden, Dean Cox, Alan Didak, Heath Scotland, Stevie J… I could go on

    • Whatyasmokin says:

      You could help my friend!

What SC parameters would you think suitable for the hall of fame? I'm thinking something like 8 seasons of 90+ averaging 🙂

      • TheGreatBozza says:

I'd need to dig through the history books to find a solid bench mark. 8 years of 90+ is a remarkable effort however. I think even the players who can string together 2-4 seasons for 115+ deserve recognition

        • Whatyasmokin says:

Yeah 8 is a stretch. It is a hall of fame though. Maybe 5 years of 100+ throughout their career.

  20. Big G says:

    Lachie Neale out.

    • INPieman says:

      • Big G says:

A whole year potentially down the drain for me. Oh well.

        • Derek says:

except for JPK, Selwood, Wingard injuries, i've actually been pretty lucky over the last few weeks…. it was just a pity i was 2,000 points behind.

just goes to show, you need plenty of luck in this game.

          • Whatyasmokin says:

Absolutely. Feels like it's becoming far more reliant on luck sadly.

  21. Dave2008 says:

In p final 4 trades left and 94 500 in the bank.
Need to trade Grundy and Selwood
    A Kreuzer Gibbs

    B S Martin J Kelly

  22. Joshua says:

With one trade left and Neale out this week should I trade Neale out or cover with Witherden? (Assuming he plays)

  23. Joshua says:

    Parker, Murphy, Merrett or Beams?

  24. JohndJames says:

In six Preliminary Finals, normally don't ask questions, just comment, but need advice this time round, have two trades left,do I use those to improve the team now,or wait a week, hoping I make a few GF. The trades that I am thinking of are Ryan to Hurley and Parsons to Howard. Both Ryan and Parsons are on the bench at the moment.

    • TheGreatBozza says:

Id wait a week and go bang bang in your GF. Are you comfortable in getting a few wins with your current line up?

      • JohndJames says:

Been happy with my team for a while now,I'm projected to win all 6,but that can change if my opponents still have trades up their sleeves.I wasn't going to trade till next week, then I thought what if I lose,I'll feel a bit stupid, still having the two trades left.I guess I should just back my team in,it's gotten me this far.

    • Whatyasmokin says:

      I'd probably trade myself.

    • B rian says:

Don't trade before Friday. Let the weekend unfold and see how you are going. Id be leaning towards trading especially if it gives you loophole options. But if you don't need to trade to win then don't.

      • JohndJames says:

I might leave the powder dry see how I'm going, then if I'm winning leave it.Like you said ''if you don't need to trade to win then don't''.

    • Cogla13 says:

Keep at least 1 trade for next week and as mentioned above don't trade until the last possible moment this round.

    • Russty_ says:

Gotta say John, I think trading in Howard would be a mistake….can you get Hurley without trading Howard in?
Just do one this week if it means guaranteed extra points…Howard doesn't guarantee you anything.

      • JohndJames says:

Yes I can Russty, will have $12,000 still left over if I just do the Ryan to Hurley trade, had wanted to trade Newman instead but didn't have the cash.Still undecided since you would expect Ryan to do a lot better this week.Tempted to just sit on my hands and see what happens.I was looking at Howard for his ruck/fwd and being better cover than bloody Parsons who if I'd had enough trades would have gone weeks ago,but yes it would be a waste of a trade.

  25. JDP says:

Need to trade Neale with last trade:

Do I go to Parker or Hurley via DPP

    Thanks in advance

  26. Tough Year says:

I have Neale, Selwood and Lynch on bench just scrapping home.

  27. Tough Yera says:

Thoughts on Sicily for next year?

    • Whatyasmokin says:

Sadly he could peak in price heavily just at season's end making him expensive next year.

      • Derek says:

Next year price is based purely on average, not ending price

        • Whatyasmokin says:

Well then that changes my perspective after checking his current average. Probably a lock for mine bar any preseason mishaps.

    • neil Demons Delight says:

The Hawks could provide us with a lot of talent I am bullish about Tim Obrien and tich as well as sicily Cousins a chance too

    • Tibor says:

Has looked ok as a defender but no guarantee what his role may be. It might be a harsh and early call but I have some flog factor concerns re Sicily. Kept well in check by some experienced heads around him but shows some real mega flog potential going forward

  28. Danger and Doch says:

Suggestions for future SC. One crack at captain. Whoever brings the ball back in after a behind, does not score anything till AFTER he has disposed of the ball…call it the Doch rule…..no more cheap kicks to self and a follow up easy disposal. Thoughts.

    • Whatyasmokin says:

Captain's Loophole is fine imo although they may as well just let you pick two players without doing the non playing loophole crap.

Only having one captain option is just going to add to the 'pot luck' scoring we are witnessing this year.

Not sure if I'm keen on dropping points for players kicking out either as it's an integral part of the game and a big responsibility. Supercoach is based on scoring for a player's true impact on the game.

The player kicking out doesn't get points if they don't kick it to themselves though which is an issue they may need to address.

All players should be scored for one kick out regardless of having kicked to themselves prior, but perhaps at half the amount of a regular kick out of defense.

That way it would open up possibilities for more defenders to choose from and not such a large gap between those who kick out and those who don't.

      • Tyruddanaut says:

The disposal should not be awarded after a kick out unless he plays on. Often 15+ Behinds are kicked in a game and if a team has a pure full back that's an extra 45 points a game

  29. Crippa says:

Is there still a site leaking trades left?

  30. Russty_ says:

Harley Bennell's playing this week….whoopee, who cares lol

    • TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

      Time for a Harley ride

      • Russty_ says:

He'll probably get drunk before the game and punch someone in a nightclub and then get homesick and return to whatever shitehole he came from lol

      • Steeeve says:

Since I'm choosing between Nick Reiwoldt or Higgins for my Tom Lynch injury trade, Bennell might almost be worth the risk!

    • Whatyasmokin says:

Could be a good pick if in the forward line next year.

  31. nathan says:

Got 945k to bring in 2 forwards?

current forwards are macrae dahl franklin heeney

  32. John says:

Grundy for Kreuzer or Ryder? Was thinking Ryder because he has an easier run, thoughts?

    • Russty_ says:

Kreuzer's averaging more, overall, 3 round and 5 round averages, go for the big gun.

Better to go for the best points scorer rather than save a few bucks and lose this week.

    • Whatyasmokin says:

Kruezer for sure. Best Ruck in the AFL.

  33. Rivo says:

Jock, your weekly podcasts will be greatly missed as the sc season comes to a close. Intelligent, humorous and spicy.

Like many coaches this season I'm down to no trades and enough injury worries to be looking at a couple of donuts in this weeks knock out finals.

Team here: any suggestions aside from pray to the sc gods???

    D: Doc, Laird, Hibberd, Rance, Simpson, Ryan (Witherden, Scharenberg);
    M: Danger, Dusty, M.Crouch, Treloar, Neale, Hanners, Sloane, Lloyd, (Jelwood, Bolton, Cousins);
    R: Gawn. Martin (Strnadica);
F: Buddy Ryder, Dahl, Heeney, Greenwood, Young (Lynch -GC, Eddy).

Looks like I'm stuffed. Neale out, Sloane doubtful, Bolton unlikely to play.

    Community, any options here????

    • Neilsa Demon says:

Aside from praying not much reflect on misspent trades and fix next year at least this is what I am going to do

      • Rivo says:

Thanks. It's been a shocker this season.
My "Never Again" list is growing….

    • neil Demons Delight says:

6 weeks ago I couldn't fault your team a ripper just goes to show how valuable trades are and I realise you possibly picked one or two up recently but 4 more trades would be great c u next year Rivo

  34. Paul says:

    Merrett or Zorko for Neale?

  35. neil Demons Delight says:

My best pick up this year was either Oliver or Witts and the worst take your pick Treloar Jpk Rance Dahlhouse wallis

  36. neil Demons Delight says:

I hope Melbourne people are reading this That garbage about trading Weideman and Brayshaw for Kelly please tell me this is made up bull No doubt we would love him but remember we got Tyson and Salem for him and I reckon that was good . About the only player dispensable in my opinion is Spencer

    • JohndJames says:

No way that would happen Neil,I'd have Brayshaw over Kelly any day of the week, plus Kelly has a bit of 'big head' about him.Where did you hear it from Neil ? it has to be bullshit,we love Angus as a person and player,no way we would put him up as a trade, not sure why we would even want Kelly.

      • neil Demons Delight says:

don't know why my comment didn't go thru I will leave out the language apparently on afl site Weidemans good value too not an inside but we need an outside mid

    • Tibor says:

It's in an article on the AFL website but it is only an opinion piece about each clubs "dream trades" and the contributors to the alleged dream trades are just any tom dick or harry who has put forward a thought.. This piece of nonsense came from some muppet in Upwey called Stefan….

Please restrict your idiotic ideas to talk back radio stef….

  37. GarryOwen says:

    2 trades & 15k in the bank
GAJ & Selwood the obvious trade out but have a "problem" in that I may have 8 defenders will play (hence no loophole)
DEF: Adams, Laird, Shaw, Hibberd (Melb), Lloyd, Newman (Ryan & S/Berg)
MID: Danger, Dusty, Bont, TMitch, Hanners, Fyfe, GAJ, J Selwood (Witherden, Hibberd (Nth), C Brown)
    RUCK: Gawn & Staf (Strndica)
FWD: Maccare, Dahl, Heeney, Yeo, Higgins, Nank (Greenwood, Bayouk).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

  38. Gary says:

    2 trades & 529,300k in the bank
Probably need to get Danger in whom do I trade out – will keep 1 trade for next week if I am lucky enough to get through this week. Any thoughts?
DEF: Adams, Laird, Docherty, Tuhoy, Lloyd, JJ (Ryan & Mcneice)
MID: Dusty, Bont, TMitch, Hanners, Fyfe, Merret, Witherden, (Bolton,Mountford, Cousins)
    RUCK: Gawn & Staf (Strndica)
FWD: Maccare, Dahl, Heeney, Yeo, Buddy, Greenwood, (Eddy,Bayok).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

    • johnny says:

Surely Witherden out for danger, leaving yourself a bit of cash to go to the best player possible for next week

    • Russty_ says:

Yeah Get Danger or Duncan…why don't you already have Danger btw?

      • Gary says:

Traded him out when he was suspended for league win. Had 5 trades at that point and got me over the line.
Might upgrade Greenwood to Ryder next week provided no injuries.

  39. johnny says:

Got 80k in the bank, who should I bring in for J Selwood (474k) ?

And Witherden or Ryan on the field?

    • Russty_ says:

Hard to answer without knowing who you already have, for 553 K here's some suggestions…
Rocky for a cheapy boom or buster.

And I'd go Witherden onfield over Ryan, just in case Ryan is playing injured and not telling anyone…crap score last week.

      • johnny says:

I've got danger, dusty, titch, oliver, bont, beams, fyfe, jelwood in the mids

was looking at merrett with two easy games left, gold coast and freo, but his form hasn't been great of late so not sure

      • Ballsnall says:

Witherden is not a DEFINATE starter yet. Anyway I am starting Ryan because most Freo players had a bad day.

    • dan says:

I had Ryan on the field last week over shaw…lost by 7 🙁

  40. Bells says:

Great year Jock, Higgo and Crouching.
Next year consider the preseason book as electronic only. We can read it on our phones and tablets no probs. Save the trees too. Increase the price by half the cost of postage to make yourselves a bit of cash.
Also – I reckon you should charge for premo content on your website. $20 for the season, or $5 a month or something.
We want you guys to stay in the game and make some dollars doing it.
And bugger off the gambling promos if you can afford to.

Just my opinon as a big fan.
Thanks again for your great podcasts and great Supercoach community.

    • Moosehead says:

I endorse that Bells. I would rather pay Jock than SC gold which in my opinion is not value for money.

  41. Dave2008 says:

    A Docherty and Gunston

    B Roberton and McRae

    Thanks !

  42. Paul says:

D: Doch, adams, laird, roberton, lloyd, hibberd (Glass and Guthrie)
M: Danger, dusty, mitchell, crouch, bont, kelly, fyfe, Treloar (Witherden, Cousins, Atley)
    R: Martin & Gawn
F: Macrae, Buddy, Dahl, T.Lynch, JJKennedy, Greenwood (Young, Eddy)

Have 2 trades left, $46,800 left and need to win to make it to GF

    Appreciate your advice

  43. TRIGGA_HAPPY says:

So that is why Pickett was a 1st rd draft pick!
Was wondering. Lad had a good night.
