LekdogsCheatSheet

G’day Community

..and welcome to a Cheat Sheet full of broken fingers and cheap premiums.

As I sit here looking at my Supercoach team I can’t shake a deep feeling of dread and fear, it could be the big scary looking spider sitting on my window in front of me but I think the more realistic answer is the question marks above Scott Pendlebury and Patrick Dangerfield.

Luckily we’ll know what’s happening with Dangerfield come Friday night (which by the way if he misses I’ll be trading him) but what to do with Scott Pendlebury is less clear. Personally i don’t care if they say he’ll be back next week, you don’t get your finger operated on and come back an play well. Particularly if you weren’t playing well before the surgery. My advice is to trade him and trade him to a point of difference.

JOCK, HIGGO AND CROUCHING BACK TOGETHER IN THIS WEEK’S PODCAST. LISTEN HERE

Strangely enough, at Round 18 we actually have a number of rookie option to pick up. If you need some cash (and have some trades) then any of the rookies in the Cheat Sheet have value.

Beyond some under-performing premos and the whole Danger/Pendles thing we don’t actually have too much to worry about this week…it must have been the spider which i can no longer find that was making me feel afraid…so hope for the best, prepare for the worst and hold as many trades as you can community. Best of luck this week.

Hmmm great work Lek!
Making me think to get Ebert instead of Jelwood only for the POD

    LEKD0G · 19/07/2017 at 16:41

    I like a POD mate, I like a POD a lot

      Shake n bake · 19/07/2017 at 20:27

Eberts two low scores was when He was made to tag. Port didn't do to well in those games. Hickley has since released him from those duties.

DacZawson · 19/07/2017 at 16:07

With a top 4 spot up for grabs I think this week is my time to grab the Little Master for the final time after years of great Supercoach service.

While this may be a heart over head decision, imagine the scenes if he could put in a classic Gary stretch of 130+ for the next few weeks.

While I may say this is the final time, I can never rule the great man out completely, as he's shown time and time again that he isn't finished when everyone else thinks he's past it.

Welcome Gary.

    Tommo09 · 19/07/2017 at 17:29

I really want him too but he is just too much for me to be able to get him

Very Sheepish · 19/07/2017 at 16:38

Thanks Lekdog, I always look forward to your column as I am stuck on my sheep farm out in the middle of no where with only a couple of people to talk SC with. I too am concerned about Newman and Parsons and am trading in Hurley and Lewis Young because by all accounts Youngy looked OK. I still have Greenwood for my last update but that will have to be next week but I will miss Wingard and hopefully this time next week you will come up with another gem.
I can cover for Danger and Pendles both who may miss a week but if Pendles misses anther one then off he goes. I currently have 7 trades before this week's trades and hopefully 3 trades (Another two next week) is enough.to do OK in my leagues.
Any further advice LekDog?

    LEKD0G · 19/07/2017 at 16:43

Young's stats were inflated by Carlton allowing him to play free in the abckline and effectively kicking it to him all game BUT he should continue to get games. Newman to Hurley is a great move and with that many trades left you are looking pretty set to finish strong. Keep it up Sheepy!

James T · 19/07/2017 at 16:48

Cheers Lek! Great cheat sheet as always! Going Pendles to Jelwood this week and Newman to Adams which gives me the funds next week to go Greenwood to any midfielder about $570k or less. Already have Danger, Titch, Merrett, JPK, Fyfe, Wines and soon to be Jelwood. Any suggestions? 🙂

    Jason · 19/07/2017 at 16:53

dusty will be cheaper than 570k next week

      LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:12

      ^

Riot act · 19/07/2017 at 16:53

Nice work lekdog! Your cheat sheet just gives me the reassurance that Newman to Adams and rockliff to Cotchin is where I'm headed. It will leave me with 4 trades. Just had a gut full of rockliff and now just having some fun with trades (as higgo said)since I'm cooked in most leagues! Would have liked Hurley but fell short by $1K.

    Whatyasmokin · 19/07/2017 at 20:18

I would avoid Cotchin, Tiges haven't looked that flash and they have a really tough run home I reckon.

      BlueNath · 19/07/2017 at 21:27

I'm not sure the tigers have that hard of a draw… 4 bottom 8 sides and Cats and GWS this weekend. Cotch and the Tigers will finish the year strong IMO. He is very underrated. I'm glad Lek has highlighted him

        Whatyasmokin · 20/07/2017 at 19:26

Hawks, Geelong, GWS, GCS in metricon with a rested god, Freo in perth with a rejuvinated Fyfe, Saints round 23 which could be very important to me that is a very tough run home.

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:13

Just a word of warning, Rocky will score 150 against the Blues but I still support your trade

Doc · 19/07/2017 at 17:06

Lads, need some help.

Down to 2 trades and 94k

Can't miss the finals in my cash league but a win would cement top 2.

At full premo with decent cover on al lines. but have Pendles. Move him on for dusty (or someone else) or sit tight.

Can cover Pendles +/- Danger with Jake Lloyd and Greenwood if needed.

    Rick Grimes · 19/07/2017 at 17:19

Wouldn't trade with that cover. Rather finish top 4 with 2 trades in hand.

    Whatyasmokin · 19/07/2017 at 19:59

You don't have the trades and as you are in a good spot hold for sure.

Defying_Madness · 19/07/2017 at 17:15

Great article as usual Lekdog, we are hitting the pointy end of the season and I am thinking of using my slim trades to try and push my rank as far as possible. Currently ranked at 846, with 5 trades and $228,600 in the bank. Any advice/ critiques regarding my team are welcome.

Here is my team:

Doc, Laird, Adams,
Rance, Hibberd, Lloyd
(Schaz, Ryan)

Danger, Titch, Zerret, JPK,
Pendles, Hanners, Treloar, Greenwood
(Witherden, Bolton, Junker)

Kreuzer, Gawn (Strn)

Macrae, Yeo, Buddy
Dahl, Nank, Heeney
(Parsons, Eddy)

Parsons is most likely going to a midfield premo and I think I want to trade Pendles out, however may hold if Greenwood scores well on the Friday. Thinking of giving Gawn another week and if he doesn't perform I will likely move him onto Mumford.

Thanks for your time community

    Derek · 19/07/2017 at 23:55

In addition to Greenwood, you have Parsons and Ryan who could cover for Pendles. Those 3 all play before Pendles, put them all on bench with E and see if one of the could snag a score, you never know.

      Derek · 19/07/2017 at 23:57

If Ryan does well, swing Junker/Adams.

If Parsons does well, swing Bolton/Yeo.

        Defying_Madness · 20/07/2017 at 00:21

I am probably trading Parsons to Jelwood though for my last midfield spot. I guess I could trade him to Ebert instead. Will put the emergency on Ryan and Greenwood to see how they score before deciding on Pendles.

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:14

I'd be surprised if Greenwood scores well this week, but slap the E on him and hope he does well enough before you trade Pendles/Parsons

Tim · 19/07/2017 at 17:19

Selwood or Merrett? Price irrelevant

    B T · 19/07/2017 at 18:15

Selwood, because the extra cash will be relevant further down the track.

    Whatyasmokin · 19/07/2017 at 20:19

    Should score similarly so Selwood.

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:15

    Merrett for POD's sake

    Leeds17 · 20/07/2017 at 19:49

Merrett will finsh the season stronger I think

Pherso · 19/07/2017 at 17:30

Mmmm Sloane (far out man) back to Fyfe and Newman to Hurley, 7 trades left, cheers gents (and ladies)

    Whatyasmokin · 19/07/2017 at 20:23

Can't say anything bad about the trades and you have enough so………

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:15

    lock it in mate

NickSC · 19/07/2017 at 17:50

Trading Pendles to Jelwood and Greenwood to Heeney and the gets me to pretty much full promo with Nank and T.Lynch (GCS) still. Thinking of trading Bolton in the mid, swing Witherden into mid and get in a mid-def player to swing with Witherden as back up for mids.

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:16

Get the premos in as fast as you can

Rivo · 19/07/2017 at 17:55

Just 5 trades and $29k. "Pain in the guts"…

D: Doc, Simpson, Laird, Rance, Hibberd, Shaw (Ryan, Scharenberg);
M: Danger, M.Crouch, JPK, Treloar, Pendles, Hanners, Sloane, Greenwood (Witherden, Mountford, Cousins);
R: Gawn, Martin (Strnadica);
F: Ryder, Heeney, Franklin, Dahl, Nank, Lynch (GC) (Bolton, Eddy).

Option 1: Pendles to Jelwood;
Option 2: Pendles & Sloane to Jelwood & Bont;
Option 2: Nank to Jelwood, Greenwood to F6, lose dpp swing but hold Pendles.

Help please!

    Whatyasmokin · 19/07/2017 at 20:03

    Option 1.

      Rivo · 20/07/2017 at 07:56

      Thanks Whatya.
Been a tough season. Knowing my luck Pendles comes back in 2 weeks and Jelwood gets knocked out again.

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:16

    1, sometimes simple is better

ASSURED · 19/07/2017 at 18:00

Quit Worrying about Danger the Guy is as tough as nails expect him to play this week. Did anyone watch the video on the Geelong website. He walked into the press conference moaning and Groaning with a bandage on his head, a sling, crutches and a moon boot lol. By the end of the interview he left with just a moonboot. Showing how quick he heals himself and made his injury into a big joke. Walking out of the club carry a heavy duffle bag on the side he was wearing the moonboot and walking normally. He wants everyone to think he is badly injured, so when he does play the media can say 'DANGER KICK 8 STRAIT WITH ONE LEG'

Flippacoin · 19/07/2017 at 18:03

HELP please!!!

Wingard, Buddy or Lambert

    Why not Flippacoin · 19/07/2017 at 18:15

    Buddy

    Dice · 19/07/2017 at 18:21

    Bloody

    Whatyasmokin · 19/07/2017 at 20:12

Buddy is in one third of teams, not necessarily a bad thing but it could pay off to get Wingard.

    B T · 19/07/2017 at 20:19

Yeah, I agree with the rest. Go Buddy. He's in great scoring form as of late.

    Northerner · 19/07/2017 at 21:49

    Wingard for mine

    Derek · 20/07/2017 at 00:07

I have Buddy already and I'm getting Chad this week

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:17

    Buddy bloody flanklin

Jim_bob321 · 19/07/2017 at 18:19

Danger on the flight to Adelaide

    INPieman · 19/07/2017 at 18:34

    Probably flying the plane

      TRIGGA_HAPPY · 20/07/2017 at 09:16

      Not with those injuries
Looked really bad on Monday at the pressers!
      Classic by Danger
Love it. Finally somone who can take the p1ss

Dice · 19/07/2017 at 18:20

One trade left with all bench players playing except for R3 Preuss. All premium except for Nank @ R2 and Greenwood @ F6. Do I trade out Greenwood for heeney/wingard or gawn or hold onto my trades. Really wanna get heeney for Greenwood and hope preuss starts getting games soon for ruck cover it a nank downside.
2479 last week.
Help I'm stuffed

    INPieman · 19/07/2017 at 19:00

Save your last trade for a season ending injury

Jake.B · 19/07/2017 at 18:45

Newman I'm upgrading to Docherty next week. Have the funds to do It after doing ym two trades this week. Only have Greenwood to upgrade which I may not have the funds to do but wiill have to try do over the next week or so. I still think Greenwood could be a hold, his scoring compared to Time on ground is very very solid.

Brenton · 19/07/2017 at 18:47

Thinking of going Newman to taylor Adams and pendles to jelwood this week. That leaves me with 3 trades. Is that enough or should I keep with the 5 trades I have now

    jez_m · 19/07/2017 at 19:07

Three should be enough, but hold those trades for injuries.

    Whatyasmokin · 19/07/2017 at 19:58

Could give Newman another run or use someone like Witherden in D6 to save a trade. I'd be very tempted to pull the Pendles to Selwood trade, probably gonna do it myself I don't trust these optimistic injury returns this year followed by many extra weeks. I haven't fallen for it yet and I'm not about too. One week is crap I reckon, surely two minimum.

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:18

    Do it

Milton_ · 19/07/2017 at 19:12

Greenwood to either Buddy, Heeney or Wingard?
Or maybe Someone else?

    Jack · 19/07/2017 at 19:30

    Heeney is the safest option

      Derek · 20/07/2017 at 00:10

Worried Heeney will get rested. Have heard he is not over his glandular fever and has been missing a few training.

    Whatyasmokin · 19/07/2017 at 20:09

Wingard for a POD. Decent run home too. Agree with Jack though.

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:18

    Buddy

Gazza R · 19/07/2017 at 20:03

Hi community I have six trades left current rank 460 am yet to lose a game in my work league so will finish top in that. Should I trade Pendles and Newman to Merrett and Cotchin and swing Witherburn to defence he should score similar to Newman but really strengthen mids scoring power and hopefully give me a chance to push higher in ranks and this would put Priddis on mid bench. Current team Def Doc, Hurley, Laird, Shaw, M.Hibbard. Newman- Ryan, Junker Mids Danger, TMitch, Pendles, Zorko, Oliver, Trelor, Fyfee, Priddis,- Witherden, Miles Bolton Rucks Kruezer, Grundy,- Stradica Forw Macrae, Buddy, Dalhouse, Winggaurd, NRoo, Heeney, -Greenwood, Deluca-Cardillo Any other suggestions appreciated?

    Whatyasmokin · 19/07/2017 at 20:43

I like the idea of trading Newman before he bleeds and moving Witherden, I'm not convinced by Cotchin, the tigers and their run home though.

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:19

Id be trying to get Newman to a Lloyd/Adams

      Dayne Oh · 20/07/2017 at 20:08

      Beams man….Beams so cheap

        Whatyasmokin · 20/07/2017 at 20:24

Missed three games this season due to injury.

        Also a 58, 66, 66 and a 12.

        Cheap for a reason.

Jimmy · 19/07/2017 at 20:30

Ebert does look amazing at his price. Never even thought of him. What happened in round 15 and 16? Did he get a run with role by any chance? It does concern me slightly. Or should I go straight to the Bont?

    Billioux · 19/07/2017 at 21:26

Yep he was tagging for some reason those 2 weeks. He has been gold for me.

      Jimmy · 19/07/2017 at 21:43

So there's a chance it could happen again

    Shake n bake · 19/07/2017 at 21:51

Port lost those game he tagged in. Port are better when hes not tagging!! Don't think Hinkley will go there again.

    Jake.B · 20/07/2017 at 13:21

    Don't get sucked into ebert.

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:19

Was tagging and clearly didn't suit his game

Dirty Dan · 19/07/2017 at 20:56

Magnificent Community!!!

What to do first?

Turn Newman into Hurley

or…. OR……

Greenwood Into Wingard

BTW best bunch of blokes on the Net with AFL knowledge

Thanks in Advance!

    Burns. · 19/07/2017 at 21:21

    Hurley

    Derek · 20/07/2017 at 00:21

    Hurley.

McVeigh has taken Newman role. He won't score well. Newman might even get dropped.

    B T · 20/07/2017 at 08:37

    Hurley

    Dirty Dan · 20/07/2017 at 16:38

    Thank you indeed 🙂

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:19

Newman to Hurley for sure mate

Crippa · 19/07/2017 at 20:57

I usually think for myself guys but It's doing my head in.
Jpk or Neal this week to have decent cover for danger or dusty next week?
Please help….

    BlueNath · 19/07/2017 at 21:15

    Get Dusty next week

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:20

I really, really, really like Neale this week

      Crippa · 20/07/2017 at 19:57

Yea so do I lek, but for some strange reason I keep hitting the reverse trade button. Never have I been so hesitant on committing

    Yaaaaaasss SCC

Jim · 19/07/2017 at 21:40

Seriously considering Justin Westhoff

    Derek · 20/07/2017 at 00:25

Chad and Ryder have higher ceiling. The Hoff is the ultimate POD. Bit expensive though.

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:21

Was in the Cheat Sheet a little while ago, only a couple bad games since then. Yolo?

    Whatyasmokin · 20/07/2017 at 19:19

Do it, will be that player nobody has.

Creek465 · 19/07/2017 at 21:40

What to do with sloane fellas?

    Northerner · 19/07/2017 at 21:54

Unless you've got 5+ trades I'd hold and back him in. Except if you need to trade to say Dusty (or Selwood if you don't have him) to win to make finals or top 4, but do that during the weekend as late as possible and only if you need to.

    Good luck.

      Creek465 · 19/07/2017 at 21:57

      Thanks northerner

    Derek · 20/07/2017 at 00:27

I don't think he is injured. He will come good, too good a player not to.

Please help

6 trades left with 180 k in the bank

Option 1 Newman to Greene via dpp and pendles to merret

Or

Option 2 Newman to Kreuzer putting nank to fwd and leave pendles for loophole

If you can avoid having Ryan on field you should.

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:22

Newman to another premo defender imo

Oscars Blues · 19/07/2017 at 22:04

Looking for some good mids 510 and under, Selwood is an obvious choice but wondering if there were any others that I missed. Don't really like Cotchin or Ebert

Just off the top of my head
    Premo smorgasbord.

    GloryDays90 · 20/07/2017 at 09:43

Why not? They are both quite consistant and have the ability to bang out big scores also.

Ryan · 19/07/2017 at 22:19

Is it stupid of me with 4 trades left and 30k in the bank to go Greenwood to Wingard (or Patton, Heeney, any other fwd) and Melican to Nyhuis? This moves Higgins to F7. Forward line at the moment is: Macrae, Yeo, Dahl, Westhoff, Higgins, Nank BENCH: Greenwood, Eddy

I have Witherden in the mids and Shaz in the backline for cover if need be. If i do these trades i will be loopholing Higgins and either Nank or Westhoff. Will this give me a chance to move up in the rankings? (currently ranked 4613 in my first season) Or am i delusional?

Thanks Fellas

    Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 00:38

Hey Ryan, I wouldn't worry about moving up the rankings so much now as getting into your league finals and having trades to use in the finals..trades are pure gold in your finals, especially if your opponent has none left.

    JohndJames · 20/07/2017 at 00:55

With only 4 trades left, like me,only use them for injuries.

DacZawson · 19/07/2017 at 22:34

Don't bother with Nyhuis and get in a 102k def-mid dpp player so Witherden can cover in the backline as well.

Defying_Madness · 19/07/2017 at 23:36

Got $1020300 to spend on 2 midfielders by trading Parsons and Pendles out.
Who do the community think are the 2 best options? Have been thinking about Selwood, Ebert and Fyfe
My current midfielders are Danger, Titch, Zerret, JPK, Hanners and Treloar.

    Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 00:20

Hey DM, Selwood and either of the other 2, you can't go wrong.

    Whatyasmokin · 20/07/2017 at 19:18

    Selwood and Fyfe.

inNout · 19/07/2017 at 23:50

What is going on with harbrow for the last 2 weeks ? Hold or trade?

    Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 00:18

He's just reverted back to his usual self..he's not a premo and never has been. Trade for a real premo.

      Billioux · 20/07/2017 at 00:30

      correct.

garfield_da_cat · 20/07/2017 at 06:41

Looking to get rid of Nic Newman and either trade in Hibberd (melb) or Roberton. Who would be the better option out of those two and why?

    Ahmad Rubas · 20/07/2017 at 07:02

i think Robertson is the better choice averaging higher score but only if u don't have the likes of doc laird Adams hurley

      garfield_da_cat · 20/07/2017 at 07:09

i already have doc, laird, adams, hurley, lloyd, ryan and witherdin

        Ahmad Rubas · 20/07/2017 at 10:12

Terrific defence get Robertson to make it even more stacked.

What does the rest of ur team look like?

          garfield_da_cat · 20/07/2017 at 21:37

Backs: Laird, Hurley, Adams, Docherty, Lloyd, Newman – bench Ryan and Witherdin
Mids: Danger, TMitchel, Zerret, Zorko, Neale, Pendles, Sloane, Fyfe – bench Greenwood, D Lloyd and Cousins
Rucks: Witts, Grundy – bench Strndika
Fwds: Macrae, Yeo, Franklin, Dahlhaus, J Cameron,
Houston – bench Parsons and T Smith

            Daniel Z · 21/07/2017 at 09:53

Upgrade your forward line first; I'd wager Newman would outscore Houston.

              garfield_da_cat · 21/07/2017 at 12:48

cheers although not many good forward options who are consistant and high scoring this year

    Derek · 20/07/2017 at 11:54

Melbourne have the better draw. especially the last 3 weeks (finals) they have saints, Lions & Collingwood all at the MCG.

Saints have some tough games, none more than the next two, Swans and Port both away. Usually that might mean good points for defenders, but both port and Swans put alot of forward pressure on the defenders, unlike GWS, north, lions type teams

      Whatyasmokin · 20/07/2017 at 19:17

Also for one reason or another roberton's scoring has dipped. Not sure if its a role thing cos i havent looked at the stats.

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:23

    Roberton bloody good, also pod

    Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 19:26

    I'd go Hibberd…his 3 round average is 20 above Roberton's

      Whatyasmokin · 20/07/2017 at 19:31

      Spot on

Tommo09 · 20/07/2017 at 07:28

How long is Pendles out for?
I have seen everything from a week to the season

    TRIGGA_HAPPY · 20/07/2017 at 09:27

Yep that about sums it up
Varies and no one really knows.
If you believe the pies may? return as early as next week

    GloryDays90 · 20/07/2017 at 09:40

I think the real question is will he be any good when he returns. He will be very timid with a hand that is still recovering. My suggestion get rid of him, his supercoach days are starting to go down hill.

swannation · 20/07/2017 at 08:57

HI Guys,
Doc, Adams, Laird, Simmo, Rance, LLoyd (Neilson, Scharenberg)
Danger, Dusty, Zerrett, Bont, Treloar, Hanners, Pendles, Selwood. (Witherden, Berry, Cousins)
Gawn, Grundy (Strn)
Macrea, Yeo, Dahl, Buddy, Greene, Nank (parsons, Eddy)

Do i get in Heeney or Hurley??
5 trades LEFT

Dave · 20/07/2017 at 09:35

Doc, Adams, Laird, Shaw, Hibberd, Witherden (Ryan, Mcinnes)

Danger, Merrett, Tmitch, Treloar, Rockilff, Selwood, neale, Bont (wingard, mountford, cousins)

Martin, Goldy,

Heeney, Yeo, dahlhouse, nank, fnklin, macrae (pickett, eddy)

1 trade left. Have wingard (or dahlhouse etc) as fwd/mid cover. Ranked in 600. Have i got a shot?

    Derek · 20/07/2017 at 11:44

i'm impressed that you have Wingard on your midfield bench, especially as he is only listed as a Forward.

      Dave · 20/07/2017 at 13:35

Ahh sorry mate. I was comfused because i brought wingard in this week to free up a mid/fwd as a loophole.

Wingard is up fwd. Dahlhouse is the extra mid at the moment, but will be able to use either macrae, yeo, or dahl as the extra swing/loop (dont trust rocky or even dahlhouse on recent form).

Any comments on my team please?

        Dave · 20/07/2017 at 13:39

I also understand that Witherden in a risk as d6, but if loopholed with Ryan I'm confident i can get a good score from them for the remaining games

    Whatyasmokin · 20/07/2017 at 19:14

Your team has no depth your benches are horrible you wont make it.

      Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 19:17

Agree, with 6 weeks to go and one trade…you're toast…the way this year's gone.

TRIGGA_HAPPY · 20/07/2017 at 09:52

Nice team Dave you have done well to get to your rank.
IMHO I can't see you moving up too much further due to the simple fact this team has 90% of the players as the teams above so if you were to move up.it is your pods which would have to propel you forward.
Need to play winguard – nice pod at the moment
Hope rocky goes bang.
Probably 1 short in Def as maj of teams at pointy end brought in hurley recently but withering definitely getting the job done.

    Dave · 20/07/2017 at 13:45

Yeah I'm pretty much cooked this year sadly. Would be happy to move up a little bit.
Rocky has been terrible. I watch every lions match and I'd really like to punch the useless, slow, unmotivated &/*#.
Anyway thanks for the reply. All the best to the teams out there with a chance, especially Jock followers

ben · 20/07/2017 at 10:24

Should we be trading Pendles? If Danger and Pendles are both out, means i have to play Greenwood and Witherden and can't loophole Lynch. If i hold both, i'll stick with my original trade of Scharenberg – Selwood. Other option is to just trade Pendles – Jelwood.
Thoughts?

    Jake.B · 20/07/2017 at 13:14

Pendles to selwood is a no brainer. Pendles form has been down, I think he will be atleast 2 weeks and even then he still won't be 100%

Jambo · 20/07/2017 at 10:48

Pendles, Pendles, Pendles…when I told ya to pull your finger out…I didn’t mean literally… (Facepalm)

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:24

    very good

Mark · 20/07/2017 at 11:09

Thoughts on these trades?
Shaz – Jelwood and Greenwood – Wingard

This will only leave me with 2 trades, but i have cover as bringing in Wingard puts Tom Lynch at F7 and Witherden has proven to be excellent cover. I am currently looping Greenwood and Wingard, but thinking Wingard might have a better ceiling.
ALso not sure if it matters, but i currently have both Pendles and Danger. If both miss and i choose to hold, means i will play Witherden and Wingard/Greenwood.
Sorry for the long piece. Thoughts would be much appreciated!

    Mark · 20/07/2017 at 11:10

    * Sorry, i am currently looping Greenwood and Lynch, not Wingard.

    neil Demons Delight · 20/07/2017 at 11:42

Been bitten by Wingard before only me but don't trust him and besides Greenwood is going well Shaz to Jelwood no brainer

      Mark · 20/07/2017 at 11:58

Cheers Neil, does that mean you would hold Pendles then?

        Dave · 20/07/2017 at 13:47

Get rid of pendles. Not enough weeks left to bother waiting on injuries. His firm has been vad anyway

Joe T · 20/07/2017 at 11:31

Cheers Lek, I'm considering moving Pendles on now. His poor form plus not knowing how he'll come back from injury places too much doubt.

I've got 4 trades atm but only want to use one to swap out Pendles. Is it worth holding with that few trades or should I swap him for another premo? Can't afford Mitchell (only have $587k) so in a midfield with Danger, Zerrett, Jelwood, Treloar, Hanners, Fyfe and Rocky, is Neale the best option or is there any value picks out there?

    LEKD0G · 20/07/2017 at 17:24

    Neale, welcome

      Joe T · 20/07/2017 at 20:00

Cheers lads, going down the Neale direction. I looked at Bont and Ebert too but Bont's ownership is too high and his output will be similar to Neale. Ebert is mighty tempting but I need a solid captaincy choice with the doubts around Danger/Pendles etc so think it's better to get a reliable player in.

    Whatyasmokin · 20/07/2017 at 19:12

The Bont will come good and is cheap.

King · 20/07/2017 at 11:44

Lachine Neale or selwood

    Thomas · 20/07/2017 at 12:15

Selwood, cheaper and has an easier run home.

neil Demons Delight · 20/07/2017 at 11:48

Upgrade Tom Lynch to West Coast Kennedy or to Mumford via swinging Ryder from Ruc to Fwd? Cheers

    Dave · 20/07/2017 at 13:55

Mumford sounds good – he will outscore most fwds. Ryder needs to be fwd

      Derek · 20/07/2017 at 15:53

Franklin or Heeney?

    Big G · 20/07/2017 at 14:46

Franklin more likely to get big scores, but then more likely to put in a shocker.

    Derek · 20/07/2017 at 15:50

I read that Heeney is still affected by Gladular fever and misses a few training sessions as a result. High chance they will give him a rest.

Swans next 7 games don't have too many big key defender types. Buddy can get a lot of attention and attract opponents big defenders. Saints, hawks, freo, Carlton don't have a good match up with Buddy, think he will have a good finish

      Quincey · 20/07/2017 at 19:49

Derek. How do you know all this stuff. I read and listen but you are amazing.

pureozzi · 20/07/2017 at 14:51

Does anyone know how the scoring works yet?? I have both Cotchin and Z.Merrett. In round 17 Merrett had 5 more kicks, 4 more handballs,1 more mark, 4 more tackles, 3 more clearances and the same number of contested disposals as Cotchin. Merrett went at 70% efficiency as opposed to Cotchin's 64%. Yet Cotchin scored 123 and Z.Merrett 120…….anybody???

    Derek · 20/07/2017 at 15:43

Have a closer look. Cotchin 1 goal and 6 goal assists. Merrett 0 goals and 0 goal assists…… its good to get the pill 37 times, but you need to hit the scoreboard.

      pureozzi · 20/07/2017 at 16:12

thanks for answering the question…so obviously goal assists must be worth truckloads because on base KHMT stats Merrett would be +43 as well as 3 more clearances and better efficiency. a goal is worth 6 so goal assists must be worth 10 or thereabouts

        Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 19:31

Its a complex system kicks dont all score the same, theres variables on the distance of the kick, whether it was to a contest, where it was done on the ground, also if it was backwards.

Ie a defender kicking it back/across the ground to an open player is not worth as much as a kick inside 50 that hits its target.

Looking at the basic stats can give us an indication of scoring, but in the end supercoach is extremely different to fantasy and goes into detail on how valuable each act is.

    frogger · 21/07/2017 at 03:35

Always have to factor in that the total is normed to 3,300. Depending on the absolute scores, different scale will be applied. Zerrett also seemed to pick up more uncontested disposals iirc. Then there's pressure acts etc.
Haven't looked at their numbers in detail, but often enough factoring in that stuff explains a fair bit of the perceived discrepancy.

Keenbutclueless · 20/07/2017 at 18:27

A lot of fresh blood rookies being named. Keath Glass Larkey. Young last week.

Guess if you are still looking for a downgrade option they could have some limited appeal, but more the point, ruining all our potential 2018 rookies by giving them a game or two now. Come on coaches, you screw us around enough already. Keep these blokes powder dry until next season.

The way it is going, all we will have left is Freeman. That's the last horseman of the apocalypse right there! I'm kinda hoping he also gets a game this year so I can't be at all tempted in 2018

INPieman · 20/07/2017 at 18:28

Good point Pieman. I doubt if Kelly would want to go to NM but Goldy bait would help. What would Mummy think?

Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 18:54

Any opinions on Goldy only being out for 1 week?…Daw plays like a drunken Giraffe, surely he can't take Goldy's spot going forward?
Is it just a 'being rested' situation for a week?

    Whatyasmokin · 20/07/2017 at 18:56

Hopefully, luckily Nank swing covers this for me.

    INPieman · 20/07/2017 at 19:03

Woukd be ironic if Goldy & Preuss played together. In the VFL

    Northernsoul74 · 20/07/2017 at 19:03

He's been dropped not rested. I'm trading him to Mummy as don't have the swing set for Nank (my F6).

      Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 19:07

I know he's been dropped but they don't always tell the truth, could just be rested…hoping anyway.

        Whatyasmokin · 20/07/2017 at 19:36

He'll be back when they realise the other options arent as good. Being dropped can be good for a player's perspective anyway lol

          Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 19:38

          True dat!

            Jamie · 20/07/2017 at 21:06

Why is preus not getting a game??? Every other week Scott says we want him to get a game and now they drop goldy and still no preuss! Worse than rtb

              Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 21:27

You'd need to ask Scott that question Jamie, I reckon after all the Media crap earlier in the season about Preuss replacing Goldy, he threatened the Coach with leaving unless he was clear number one Ruck…therefore, Preuss has been relegated to wait until next year before he becomes number one. Daw is nowhere near it…he looks as raw as he did 3 years ago..maybe he should stick to hurdles or something, cause AFL ain't his game.
Preuss will be North's number one next year I reckon…after whiny Goldstein retires.

              Rocksta · 20/07/2017 at 21:36

              Preuss is injured isn't he?

    Leeds17 · 20/07/2017 at 19:43

I think it's a half rest half dropping.

I've got Nank for this exact situation but am tempted to trade, though Gawn will be cheaper again next week If I want to play the wait and see game for a week.

Jim_bob321 · 20/07/2017 at 18:55

Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 19:11

Still sticking with my trades of…Pendles to Titch and Pederson to Selwood, even with Goldy going out…Solvol can at least get a 50 or so..not much worse than Goldy last week anyhoo lol

    Doorsey · 20/07/2017 at 19:37

Yeh, I have reluctantly done to Pendles to Titch because I reckon Pendles will miss one game but a good excuse to get Titch. 7 trades left after this. I wonder how those trigger fingers are feeling now with some great buys with us and more to come. Too many people sucked in by the experts insisting to go full premium ASAP. Not being a smart a**e, just saying.

      Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 19:48

I hear ya Doorsey…and although Titch isn't a pod by any stretch, he is a must have and I'm glad I got him,(averaging more than anyone) and Pendles, good riddance, and Pederson..on the drastic decline, and dropped this week was a no brainer for me to Jelwood, won't get cheaper.

Might've been a different story if Soldo wasn't covering for Goldy this week for me, but 50 points is better than a kick in the crotch.

Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 19:13

Mark O'Meara had a good start to the Open Championship, being the first guy off the tee, Hit his first shot out of bounds and then his provisional ball right up against the face of the pot bunker, ended up with an 8 on a par 4, reminded me of my Golf game LOL

    Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 19:57

You guys should play PGA fantasy game next season…it's fun, and pretty easy, doesn't take up much time.
I'm in 5 leagues and am top 3 in all of em. I just do a quick google on past results of each tournament before I make my picks and you can swap 2 out of the 4 during the round if they miss the cut or score crap… Good fun.

Stupid Coach · 20/07/2017 at 19:26

Great work Lek Dog and the Community. Do we know how long Goldy is out for? Trade options this week are:
1) Pendles to Jelwood. Use Witherden on the field, swing Nank into the ruck and use Thomas on field in the forward line.
2) Pendles to Jelwood and Newman to Roberton or Hurley
3) Pendles to Jelwood and Goldy to Mummy or Ryder.

Any thoughts/advice much appreciated.

Pendles out, unfortunately, for Tom Mitchell who is amazing, but can only do so if I trade in Deluca at $102K but I would prefer Lewis Taylor. Anyone have any idea what Deluca's job security is like because Ryan might only have to do his penance for a week.

    INPieman · 20/07/2017 at 20:23

Deluca is a rook that works for Ross. No JS at all

    Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 20:59

You mean Lewis Young?…Lewis Taylor is the pasty faced Lions player, I think Young would have more JS considering Ross Liar's form.

    B T · 20/07/2017 at 22:20

I'd go with Young over Delucca, in fact I am.

thoughts on a bit of a luxury trade to try creep up the ranks a bit. currently ranked 800th so thought to take a punt

greenwood to jelwood via DPP.

only dilemma is now that my forward cover is shai bolton and pickett, makes me nervous with the likes of greene, ryder in the forward line.

but going to start danger on the bench this week as most would have him on, hopefully if he plays he doesnt score well, but even if he does i will swap him onto the field and take rockliff or hannebery to the bench through hibberd

Might have a nice break in the VFL for a while.

Don't Blush Baby · 20/07/2017 at 20:37

What are Pendlbury owners doing ? Holding or Selling ? I wanted to go SPP to Jelwood and that would leave J.Steven as my M9 bitch.

But now do I just go Pendles to Jelwood ?

    Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 20:52

I sold, straight to Titch, Pendles can get stuffed lol

    TOPHAWK1 · 20/07/2017 at 21:10

I am not a Pendlebury holder.

But if I was, I would take this opportunity to kick him out of my side. His form has been poor all season and now he has two broken phalanges. Not a lot upside there.

Straight switch to Jelwood. Job done.

    B T · 20/07/2017 at 22:18

300k in bank and 5 trades after that so will be looking to trade Witherden to Titch soon.

Witherden will conservatively appreciate another 50K to around $325K this week and then you go BANG!! Hello Titch!

English and Goldy both not playing.
Which one should I trade to avoid a donut

    Russty_ · 20/07/2017 at 21:33

This is why you need either a playing bench Ruck or a non playing swinger…and rucks in the fwd line, I reckon Goldy will be back next week.
That being said, and not knowing where you stand in your leagues, rank or whichever one you consider more important, You could just go Goldy to Kreuzer this week?..and only lose 50 grand..and a trade.

Got Nank in the forward line, but no forward swing in the ruck line.

Forward line of: Yeo, Macrae, Heeney, Dahl, Buddy and looking to move nank out of the last spot as my team is complete with 9 trades left, with 90k in the bank, who should i trade in for the nank?

    TOPHAWK1 · 20/07/2017 at 21:45

As you still have 9 trades left, you can afford to trade Nankervis out. Not that he has been that bad though.

Ryder is a solid option, but has a "supposed" minor ankle issue. Beware. And I have him.

If you have the fortitude, and want to risk it for the biscuit, (may need 2 trades mind you) trade in JJK.

    Cheers Mate.

Moosehead · 20/07/2017 at 21:31

Ryder

Top Gun · 20/07/2017 at 21:39

Isn't it about time Mummy hit or decked someone? Been well behaved this season. I predict a suspension 😛

GloryDays90 · 20/07/2017 at 21:52

Anyone have any idea who would be good bench cover for FWD?

    Joshua · 20/07/2017 at 22:08

Could still go Josh Thomas maybe?

      GloryDays90 · 20/07/2017 at 22:15

Yeah was thinking him or Honeychurch tbh

steve · 20/07/2017 at 22:22

Hey community

I need abit of help

Would you rather trade Parsons to heeney which will leave me with a full premo team and will allow me to swing Greenwood into the midfield for Pendels cover.

or

would you rather TRADE pendels out for any midfielder and have Greenwood at F6

After I make either of these trades i will have 4 trades remaining.

Cheers Community.

    Dean Billman · 21/07/2017 at 00:34

I'm in exactly the same position this week Steve. I'm going Pendles to Selwood this week, so I have the cash to choose any forward next week for Parsons. That will let me keep Greenwood as cover.

Can't work out which forward to grab, so this gives me another week to have a think about it.

Current forwards: Yeo, Macrae, Buddy, Dahlhouse, Nank and Greenwood.

      Dan · 21/07/2017 at 09:08

I'm in the exact same position too, and have done the same. Pendles to Selwood this week. Next week I'll upgrade Parsons to a premium forward.

NoLanguage · 20/07/2017 at 22:28

Who's everyone chucking the VC and C on this week? Would be a brave man to pop the VC on Danger even if he does play I reckon, thinking Jelwood into Doc or maybe Fyfe?

    ahmad rubas · 20/07/2017 at 22:41

im still trusting danger as vc with doc as cap

    Lordyier · 21/07/2017 at 09:36

Zerrett & Titch. Can't expect danger to dominate at FF again.

ahmad rubas · 20/07/2017 at 22:38

this is my current bench cover scharenberg ryan def greenwood witherden cunningham mid strnadica ruc stewart eddy fwd
my plan in 2 weeks time the round when finals start is to downgrade either scharenberg or ryan to junker which will allow witherden to be able to cover mid and def and then upgrade stewart to a premo fwd and move steele from f6 to bench which means greenwood can cover both lines as well.

thoughts?

Rocksta · 20/07/2017 at 22:51

Ok.
Pendles to Jelwood, but do I go Greenwood to Rocky or Beams?
I'd still be left with 1 upgrade to make with only 5 trades at that point and thus the extra $40K you get going beams could be very important when trying to get Thomas to Heeney.
Thoughts?

Choice · 20/07/2017 at 23:34

Have Pendles, Ablett and Goldstein… with $25k
I have Hannan and Parsons on bench so swinging Nank up is bad news
Don't know who is gonna come back next week out of either of them. Seems like Ablett is sticking to Home games.
No idea what to do.

What_Bear · 20/07/2017 at 23:56

Doing my head in. I have watched Hannebery spud it up all year. Would it be stupid to trade him to Jelwood and pocket 10K?

Ahhhhh SC2017…..sooo many sleepless nights

Please talk me out of this before tomorrow night

One Touch Wonder · 21/07/2017 at 00:06

Are you looking for a truly wonderful shark move to help your team out of a rut. Well here itnis ladies and gentlemen:

1) Rupert Wills into the fwd line. Named in the guts and will score 120+ this week.
2) Why not also take a punt on Shannon Hurn. This is perfect for those who need a cheap D7 to loophole to success.
3) Downgrading the likely underperforming Danger to Selwood or Ebert (rocky?) will give you a mammoth $332,000 and $306,100 respectively. This is essentially another premium for your team for those that like to live Danger-ously (much pun).

These shark moves will certainty bring your team much success supercoachers. Love you all long time, thank me later!!

    One Touch Wonder · 21/07/2017 at 00:26

That is a POOR impersonation of me and even worse SHARK MOVES

      One Touch Wonder · 21/07/2017 at 09:25

You know these moves are good. Just wait and see

    Lordyier · 21/07/2017 at 09:34

No Danger = no SC finals win.

neil Demons Delight · 21/07/2017 at 01:00

the only trade for danger is ticth otherwise rely on greenwood or wither

Jem · 21/07/2017 at 09:38

Pendles, Danger, JPK, Neale, Merrett, Fyfe, Bont, Pepper (Berry, Witherden, Cousins)

Big G · 21/07/2017 at 10:08

What are the real chances both Danger and Sloane play? Interesting to follow this throughout the day.

    Goat · 21/07/2017 at 10:54

I think both will play. Two mates. Its just a bit of theatre. I think both might have quiet nights though.

      Randomcliche2 · 21/07/2017 at 22:34

hehehe both top scored for their teams……

    Lordyier · 21/07/2017 at 12:56

    Sloane will, Danger won't

Triggy · 21/07/2017 at 12:56

Why risk them. Both teams will finish top 4.

Adam · 21/07/2017 at 18:20

Conan the Westy · 23/07/2017 at 14:31

You had to mention Wingard, didn't you?
