Get Lloyd and pocket 125k for the next rainy day or bring in Roberton and have 20k in the tank?

    Deeboss · 20/06/2017 at 18:23

    INPieman · 20/06/2017 at 18:27

The 125k might net you Gawn without making a downgrade & save a trade. Also DPP

      gary fish · 21/06/2017 at 17:47

      whats app mean

        gary fish · 21/06/2017 at 17:48

i ment dpp not app just spell check stuffed up

          hedski · 21/06/2017 at 18:10

Dual Position Player, he's a mid or defender.

    SF4 · 20/06/2017 at 19:49

    Bargain · 20/06/2017 at 20:05

Of course lloyd, 100k+ cheaper and 99+ average if you take out the game he was concussed

    BlueNath · 20/06/2017 at 20:34

If you want to be like everyone else, Lloyd. But you suggested Roberton for a reason. Sometimes when you back your instincts in the caper you reap the big rewards. But sometimes you end up with shit figs too.

      Rocksta · 20/06/2017 at 23:31

They are both guns and for $100K plus less you have to go Lloyd.
He's only that cheap because of his first qtr concussion and 4 SC points.

        Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 00:24

Yep 9 scores between 92 and 114. Has an 84 and an 89, plus the concussion round. Probably the most consistent player I've ever seen.

    Danners · 20/06/2017 at 20:41

Prepare for the next rainy day

    Russty_ · 21/06/2017 at 00:57

Take Lloyd and the cash Finnius, Remember, Roberton can spud it at anytime, due to being in a spudly team…my Team hahah

Deeboss · 20/06/2017 at 18:22

You beauty!

Sauce · 20/06/2017 at 18:27

Hello Neale!! Bye Stewart πŸ™

BigBuggars · 20/06/2017 at 18:41

Decisions, decisions …. Have 10 trades. Need 1 premo M,F & D to finalise team, but can prob only get 2 of those with trades left. Want Lloyd. Have enough cash to straight swap Stewart or Barrett leaving 20 – 40K in bank. Was also planning on keeping Scooter as M8 for as long as possible, but with injury cloud could also go Scooter to Ryan, via Berry or Hib Jr., to maximise cash for next upgrade. Also have, and would prefer to ditch, Myers, for Ryan. But doesn't leave quite the same war chest. Can anybody offer some clarity to the swirling confusion in front of me?

    SC_Kev7 · 20/06/2017 at 19:18

Lloyd is just too good to pass up at that price. Consistent as buggery.

Big call to make on Scooter. Forget his price gen now, you want reliable scorers on the bench as finals approach. Myers is not that

      BigBuggars · 21/06/2017 at 11:54

Too true. Thanks for the input SC_Kev7.

matthewspangher · 20/06/2017 at 18:47

selwood>neale or next week selwood>sloane? who do we think will come home stronger?

    BigBuggars · 20/06/2017 at 18:50

Neale for me, esp with Sandi coming back. Selwood now listed as a test for this week.

Tommo09 · 20/06/2017 at 18:52

Stewart to a 102k rookie???
Also, is it worth trading Nank, Fyfe or Sandi as well?
9 trades and no cash before trades

    H Lee · 20/06/2017 at 19:15

i assume you already have luke ryan?

      Tommo09 · 20/06/2017 at 20:08

      Yes already have Ryan

    SC_Kev7 · 20/06/2017 at 19:21

What's your reasoning behind trading Stewart to a non player?

Hold off for now. Gawn in a few weeks would be a good get for Nank or Sandi.

      Tommo09 · 20/06/2017 at 20:08

Was just doing it gain maximum cash for upgrades as I will need to upgrade Sandi Hannan and S.Selwood at least

    Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 00:19

You've waited this long for Sandi, if not named this week he's got big problems. Nank second, don't trade Fyfe.

    The Ranger · 21/06/2017 at 08:35

If you're not trading for a player then hold him unless you think he's gonna bleed cash

LoganJosh7 · 20/06/2017 at 18:53

DEF: roberton, laird, Adam's, hardbrow, hibberd, doch – sberg, berry
MID: ablett, fyfe, trelor, neale, danger, martin, bont, PP – fisher, Myers, cousins.
FWD: jjk, roo, dahl, roughy, WHE, Greene, – gwood, parsons
RUCK: martin, sandi – preuss

Wew first time posting my average team. So my question is, who to trade out for ryan? Fisher myers or berry?

Berry is best money wise but also the best backup in case of injuries as has the best JS and is pretty consistant.

Would love some input.

    INPieman · 20/06/2017 at 19:32

How many trades left? You have bench players playing. And lots of them. Cash out the highest value. Berry to Ryan & WHE to Yeo without seeing your cash & trades

      LoganJosh7 · 20/06/2017 at 19:40

      Ah sorry pie.
10 trades left as i already did barrett to neale.

        INPieman · 20/06/2017 at 20:32

I'd consider Parsons to Josh Deluca-Cardillo (Freo) 102k Mid/Fwd so you can loop Greenwood & WHE & generate some money for next week. But Berry to Ryan also looks good & gives more cash. Really tough call. At least you have some trades & cash on the pine

          BlueNath · 20/06/2017 at 20:43

Awesome call Pieman on JDC. If you have less than 10 trades then cash gen starts to become less relevant making non-playing DPP rookies a vital way of covering outs (injuries/suspensions) and creates valuable loophole options for our playing bench players who may go large

            INPieman · 20/06/2017 at 21:09

JDC may also sneak his way into the team & be handy later. I look at Alex Witherden in the same vein. Lions & Freo generally play late so the loop option is handy regardless

              LoganJosh7 · 21/06/2017 at 13:15

yeah my strategy is sorta revolving around having a rookie with great JS in fwd/mid/def as a good late season injury backup.
So will wait on selection as per usual πŸ™‚

        Cant Decide · 20/06/2017 at 23:48

        Neale Over Merrett?

          LoganJosh7 · 21/06/2017 at 00:01

Neale just for me. Has a higher ceiling

          Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 00:18

          Can't lose either way really.

          Jake.B · 21/06/2017 at 16:57

Merrett for consistency and also a solid 130-140 every now and then. Neale if you like rollercoasters

    The Ranger · 21/06/2017 at 08:43

Do you need Ryan? No point bringing in rookies unless its for cash generation now.
    Berry to Junker maybe?

Pman · 20/06/2017 at 18:55

"Pyanamese Shit Figs" Gold!

B-SC · 20/06/2017 at 18:56

I have 10 trades left and 148K in the bank.

Thinking of holding trades for a couple of weeks to generate money.

DEF: Doch Laird Simpson Rance Shaw Hibberd (Berry Ryan)
MID: Danger Z.Merrett Pendles Oliver Bont Adams Fyfe SPP (Pickett Cousins Freeman)
RUCK: Martin Nank (Strnadica)
FWD: Yeo Macrae Dahl Buddy Lynch(GCS) Greenwood(ADELAIDE) (Bolton Eddy)

Thoughts would be greatly appreciated .

    poloko48 · 20/06/2017 at 20:01

An idea here but take it or leave it as it's a bit of a luxury trade:
SPP & Berry out, Lloyd & Mountford in, leaves you $254K cash + fwd/def swing. Getting Lloyd now is a must IMHO, even if you're full def premo.

    Boner of Contention · 21/06/2017 at 11:12

Agree on moving SPP and Berry B-SC. Scharenberg plus JPK perhaps?

Danny · 20/06/2017 at 18:58

Josh Kelly or Lachie Neale?

    Wayo · 20/06/2017 at 19:01

    Kelly is injured mate

      Danny · 20/06/2017 at 19:10

      Ahh, ok thanks Wayo

    Jake.B · 21/06/2017 at 16:59

Kelly had sore ribs and may not play. Had him from the start what a gem

ChasingFinals17 · 20/06/2017 at 19:00

Team is just about full KEEPER with 11 trades left and 57k in the bank
Not sure exactly what to do. Wish i didnt keep Sandi and traded him to Kreuzer
DEF: Doch, Laird, Simo, Howe, Newman Stewart (Scharenberg, Ryan)
MID: Danger, Jelwood, Pendles, Murph, Bont, Yeo, Adams, Rockcliff (Fisher, Myers, Cousins)
RUC: Sandi, Nank (Strnadica)
FWD: Macrae, Dahl, Franklin, Greene, Kennedy, Greenwood (Butler, Stewart)

Will trade out a FWD rookie like Greenwood and a defender rookie like Stewart and then sub both Adams to defence and Yeo to the FWD line to get two more premo mids (this will happen over time)

    poloko48 · 20/06/2017 at 19:48

I'd hold for the moment, not much you can do until your rookies fatten up more. Unless you want to trade Newman, swing Adams, but then who do you bring in @ $485K? Maybe Lloyd?

    Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 00:17

Yep you had enough trades to move on Sandi as soon as alarm bells rung. Oh well. Maybe Gawn later?

Isn't Butler totally cooked? Trade him for the collingwood kid callum brown?

Ja191 · 20/06/2017 at 19:08

Scooter listed for a test. Should only be out 1-2 hopefully

    poloko48 · 20/06/2017 at 19:45

Let's hope so otherwise it's chop chop chop….

    Bells · 21/06/2017 at 16:39

I can't trust my finals to his hammy not tweaking on return. He's gonski for me.

    Jake.B · 21/06/2017 at 17:15

Trained well today could potentionally play this week… doubt it though

Joshua · 20/06/2017 at 19:18

If i have any trades left in the grand final (if I make it) would it be a good idea to go Lynch to Gray? Port vs Suns and Gray could go crazy while Lynch goes missing.

    poloko48 · 20/06/2017 at 19:44

Yep but who knows with this crazy season, Lynch could kick 10!

    Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 00:15

Or gary could get tagged and Lynch takes contested marks out side the 50 all day like Reiwoldt and bags 4-5.

Millsy999 · 20/06/2017 at 19:22

Stewart to Ryan, Scooter to Neale.

Team will then be;
Def – Laird, Adams, Hibberd, Shaw, Newman, Harbrow (Ryan, McInnes)
Mid – Danger, Neale, JPK, Murphy, Wines, Oliver, TMitch, Fyfe (Cousins, D.Lloyd, C.Brown)
Ruck – Witts, Nank
Fwd – Dahl, Macrae, Heeney, Greene, Buddy, Yeo (Greenwood, Parsons)

Leaves 8 trades and 180k in the bank.

Nank to Gawn in a week or two, and an upgrade of 1 defender if possible, leaving 5/6 trades heading into finals.

Thoughts community?

    poloko48 · 20/06/2017 at 19:44

I'd hold Scooter but I have cover with Jake Lloyd. He'll only miss 1-2 and still a chance to be M8 for the remainder of the season. I'd look at upgrading Witts or Nank to Kreuzer first.

Will · 20/06/2017 at 19:22

Neale or jelwood?

    poloko48 · 20/06/2017 at 19:40

Jelwood every day of the week for mine

    Tibor · 21/06/2017 at 10:27

Where there's any doubt take the bloke in the better team

JJF · 20/06/2017 at 19:25

Mountford or Callum Brown?

    Jim_bob321 · 20/06/2017 at 19:26

    I went Callum Brown

    poloko48 · 20/06/2017 at 19:40

Neither if you can avoid it, JS not great with either I wouldn't have thought…

    B T · 20/06/2017 at 19:56

Cal Brown, should get a few games for the next month.

Mike · 20/06/2017 at 19:27

Heres my team, 10 trades left, $251k in the bank

DEF: Doch, Laird, Adams, Shaw, Hibberd, STewart (Berry & Scharenberg)
MID: Danger, Titch, Pendles, Bont, J.Kennedy, Fyfe, Treloar, S.Selwood (Myers, Cousins, Fischer)
RUCK: Martin, Nank (Cameron)
FWD: Yeo, Macrae, Dahlhaus, Franklin, Heeney, Greenwood (Bolton, Eddy)

Was thinking this week of upgrading Stewart to Lloyd & downgrading Berry to Ryan.
That'd leave me with 8 trades and $341k for any emergency trades needed… thoughts??

    poloko48 · 20/06/2017 at 19:39

Prob best you can do atm, still 2 premos short if you discount Scooter as a premo.
Mind you that's a lot of cash in the bank this time of year…

      Mike · 20/06/2017 at 19:42

Depending how far away Scooter is, next week he can turn into Neale or any other premo. was saving trades for a few weeks before spending the $$$

    Cold_Case · 20/06/2017 at 19:49

What if you hang on to Stewart at D8. Trade Berry to Lloyd. Trade a mid rookie to Ryan via swing. This will allow you to play lloyd in M8 till scooter plays. Otherwise u will have to play a crap rookie at M8. At least Stewart is scoring well, shouldn't cost you to many points.

      Dutch · 20/06/2017 at 21:33

That's exactly what I'm considering for the same reason ColdCase outlined – in my case it's Barret who will make way for Ryan ….

poloko48 · 20/06/2017 at 19:28

Managed 5363 over the byes so just short of 1800 average. My ranking though jumped from a p1$$ poor 33209 to a more respectable (but still poor) 21282.

Going for something a bit different this week – really want Lloyd but have full def premo. So will get him in as M8 to cover Scooter while he's out.

Trades this week:
OUT Barrett IN Ryan
OUT Myers IN Lloyd

Leaves 8 trades $131K and the following team:

DEF: Doch, Adams, Simmo, Howe, Rance, Heater (Stewart, Ryan)
MID: Danger, Jelwood, Pendles, JPK, Fyfe, Treloar, Parker, Lloyd (Berry, Fisher, Scooter)
RUC: Witts, Nank (Strnadica)
FWD: Macrae, Dahl, Buddy, Heeney, Hannan, Bolton (Parsons, Greenwood)

From here I hold and wait for Gawn and then go Hannan OUT, Nank fwd, Gawn IN. May be short of $$$ though, so if that's the case Scooter may have to go at that point. Will leave me 1 keeper short in fwd line which I'll have to live with to save trades.

    #Pieinghigh · 21/06/2017 at 10:35

Your forwards are very very weak… I wouldn't even bother with Lloyd…

I'd be looking to upgrade Hannan > Yeo
    Stewart > Ryan

in 1/2 weeks time you go Nank > Gawn

You can afford to play Berry in the middle this week, unless you plan to keep Lloyd at M8 permanently which I think is a bit of a waste as he really should be in Defence.

If you want to finalise your mids you will have to trade Scooter > Mid imo…

Bomber · 20/06/2017 at 19:33

Neale or Merret ?

    poloko48 · 20/06/2017 at 19:35

    Zerrett for mine

    Purple · 20/06/2017 at 20:09

    Close depends on sandi

hedski · 20/06/2017 at 19:50

Looking fairly vanilla this week, the 2 Brrrissy boys, Barry and Berry, to the coupla first name/last name Ryan and Lloyd lads. BORING.

    INPieman · 20/06/2017 at 21:13

A few frothies & I'm sure you'll get more adventurous Hedski

      hedski · 20/06/2017 at 21:26

Frothies every day Pie, adventures are for the nek fortnight.

    The Ranger · 21/06/2017 at 08:53

It's boring o'clock Hedski. Running low on trades, cash and excitement.

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 21/06/2017 at 09:15

If u don't have one or both of those boys be popular ins that is unless Ross lyin comes into play.

So looks like we are all boring together this week.

      hedski · 21/06/2017 at 10:27

Yeah gotta have them, will be good to have 22 on the park again.
Playing you in "up there cazaly" this week Trig.

        TRIGGER HAPPY · 21/06/2017 at 12:01

        Well that's one the same.
Looking at the teams we have a lot of different players.
Might come down to the big 3 pies who after a rest should be good to go.
Let's get ready to rumble …..

Defying_Madness · 20/06/2017 at 19:52

Hi community, have 9 trades and 136k in the bank, so looking to finish off my team.

Laird, Adams, Rance, Hibberd, Lloyd, Stewart (Ryan, Scharenberg)

Danger, Titch, Merret, Pendles, JPK, Hanners, Treloar, Barret (Berry, Bolton, Greenwood)

Kreuzer, Witts (Strn)

Yeo, Macrae, Dahl, Spuddy, Nank, Heeney (Parsons, Eddy)

Any suggestions are welcome

    INPieman · 20/06/2017 at 20:44

Put the E on Greenwood Thursday night & then reassess

      Defying_Madness · 20/06/2017 at 21:21

That would mean moving Greenwood to the forwards since I have no loophole in the midfield right?

        INPieman · 21/06/2017 at 06:41

Nope. Trade Barrett or Berry to a floating mid/def donut for loophole like oscar junker. Then upgrade perhaps Stewart to maybe Doch if that gives you enough cash. Assuming greenwood posts a decent score

          Defying_Madness · 21/06/2017 at 16:07

Yeah this was my original plan, however I have pondered on whether it might be better to get Robertson as it allows me to trade off Parsons instead of Greenwood( for my last mid upgrade) so I can keep him as cover. Getting Doch in is probably the safer move though so I will likely just go with it

Cpt Pugwash · 20/06/2017 at 19:52

Where are you mate?

    Moustachio · 21/06/2017 at 17:58

    Plz no

Skeletor · 20/06/2017 at 19:55

Hi guys,

First time positing. I figured I'd like some input from the experts on now my team is travelling at this stage in the competition.

Def: Docherty, Laird, Rance, Shaw, McDonald, Lloyd (Ryan, Scharenberg)

Mid: Dangerfield, Mitchell, Sloane, Treleor, Rockliff, Crouch, Bont, Fyfe (Fisher, Cousins, Perryman)

Ruck: Grundy, Kreuzer (Cameron)

For: Macrae, Franklin, Dalhous, Nankervis, Lynch, Greenwood (Bolton, Parsons)

I traded in Ryan and Lloyd this week. Next week I'll upgrade in the forward line and I think I'm set? I have 8 trades left and $102 in the warchest. Any feedback would be great!

    Hoot · 20/06/2017 at 20:05

    Adams from collingwood

      Skeletor · 20/06/2017 at 20:12

Where would I put him? Or I can reverse trades and bring in Adams instead of Lloyd?

        BlueNath · 20/06/2017 at 20:16

Yes, you can reverse trades up until lockout, but wait on Adams. His price will fall over the next 2 weeks. Lloyd is a common sense get this week

        Hoot · 20/06/2017 at 20:20

McDonald and Shaw reliable enough to call premium? In 2017?

          Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 00:13

Shaw yeah if williams keeps playing up the ground, McDonald heck no.

    Cpt Pugwash · 20/06/2017 at 20:12

Choice between Cloke and Lin Jong

      Russty_ · 21/06/2017 at 00:17

Lin Jong, definitely this week, cause I'm playing you in one of my Leagues this week…lol, but, I know you're joking…so why even post it?

      Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 00:42

Too many great options my head is spinning.

    Russty_ · 21/06/2017 at 00:54

So , is He-man really as gay as he appears to be?…in the cartoons…not that there's anything wrong with that πŸ™‚

    jockreynolds · 21/06/2017 at 12:01

Fantastic work Skeletor!!! Vert close to full premium.. you might also look to move The Nank on after you've finished that FWD line

      Skeletir · 21/06/2017 at 16:56

He-Man a homosexual? No way. We're talking about the most powerful man in the universe!

Wow a post from the man himself! Thanks Jock!!

        Russty_ · 21/06/2017 at 22:27

You were so flustered you even mispelled your own name lol

Pat Rick · 20/06/2017 at 19:55

Hey all heres the team I'm going into the second half of the season with.

Doc, Adams, Laird, Lloyd, Tuohy, Newman (Scharenberg, Ryan)

Danger, Pendles, Bont, Treloar, Jelwood, Hanners, Dusty, Scooter (Brown, Cousins, Hibberd)

Grundy, Nank (Strnadica)

Macrae. Dahl , Heeney, Buddy, Tom Lynch (GC) Greenwood (Bolton, Beech)

Have 10 trades left & 87k after going

How should I look at things going down the track?

    TheScacman · 20/06/2017 at 20:24

Watch out on Beech for job security, could possibly swing Brown into the forward line and bring in mountford

Rivo · 20/06/2017 at 19:57

Scooter at M9, mids and defence at "full" premo. Need to get 2 fwds to make finish team. Yeo, Macrae and Goldy/Gawn are my targets; but not enough cash to get there now. Lloyd tempting but are there any logical trades this week?

D: Doc, Laird, Simpson, Hibberd, Rance, Shaw (Scharenberg, Ryan);
M: Danger, Sloane, Pendles, Treloar, Hanners, JPK, M.Crouch, Fyfe (S.Selwood, Cousins, Pickett);
R: Martin, Nank (Strnadica);
F: Heeney, Buddy, Dahl, T.Lynch, Greenwood, Bolton (Parsons, Eddy).

9 trades & $10k. Any suggestions?

    Mavs17 · 20/06/2017 at 20:46

You could get rid of Selwood for the money and then try swing nank fwd to get another ruck.

      Rivo · 20/06/2017 at 21:04

Yes Mavs, that did cross my mind. Would need 2 trades to make it happen. Gawn some weeks away and a definite prospect, but to trade now only delivers he likes of Vardy as a single trade.

    Derek · 20/06/2017 at 21:41

    Selwood to Mountford

    Parsons to Ryder

      Rivo · 21/06/2017 at 07:58

Thanks Derek. Yes that was on my radar, though Mountfords JS is a concern. Is Brown a better option or wait another week on him?

Jambak · 20/06/2017 at 20:08

Titch, Adams, Lloyd or another midfielder or defender ?

    jez_m · 20/06/2017 at 22:19

Adams is a must have defender this year. But given his BE is 143, he could probably wait a week. I'd grab Lloyd – value for money.

jez_m · 20/06/2017 at 20:43

Great podcast as always lads. Jake Lloyd and Luke Ryan in this week for Otten and Vickers-Willis. Leaves me with two rookies on field (Stewart and Greenwood) with 178K in the bank. A Powell-Pepper downgrade to Callum Brown (once on the bubble) should provide the required additional funds to grab Docherty in the coming weeks.

BlueNath · 20/06/2017 at 20:55

I want to throw a challenge out to the community just to make sure you consider all strategic options going forward. So your challenge is to answer this question:

(If you have less than 10 trades left) trade in L. Ryan or A. Witherden? Why?

    INPieman · 20/06/2017 at 21:18

That depends. If you want a player to loop this week Ryan. If you need someone to loop that may come in handy later witherden. And if your looking for a pure scoring option then Ryan has the game

    Derek · 20/06/2017 at 21:27

    I've heard of Ryan!

    BlueNath · 20/06/2017 at 21:44

There is no real right or wrong answer. And everything is dependent on your team structures, cash, trades etc.

But I really wish this community would get more involved in discussing deeper strategies rather than just posting teams and saying they are getting Lloyd in this week.

For example, Ryan is a great bench option. But if you already have a Newman or Stewart and are getting Lloyd then Witherden is a really strategic trade that could net you lots of bonus points. He is DPP, so he can allow you to loophole say a Stewart at D7 who may have a blinder. Or as captain loophole. And DPP means he can also allow you to throw your structure around to help cover injuries.

Further, Witherden plays for Brissy who have lots of late round matches, allowing you to maximise loophole options.

Also, if you have say 9 trades left and only 1 or two from full premium, you no longer really need cash generation. And if you do, Ryan won't "fatten" until round 20-22! By then do you really think you'll be trading him out to paint the fence? Unlikely you'll have the trades.

Anyway, just wanting people to consider these choices we now have in the run home. Don't fall into the trap for thinking a rookie on the bubble is your best/only option

      DacZawson · 20/06/2017 at 21:57

Just adding an extra opinion to what you've presented Nath, depending on how much cash you need, getting 100-150k from Ryan may be all that you require meaning that it may only take 3-4 weeks to get that cash grab. That cash may allow you to nail those last few trades around before finals meaning it could be a very viable option.

      DacZawson · 20/06/2017 at 21:58

Also you have my complete support regarding your opinion on the generic questions asked on this page every week.

      Dutch · 20/06/2017 at 22:07

Your thinking is sound Nath. I've kept Hibberd (NM) all year for that same reason (albeit less late games means not quite as useful some weeks).
Also why I'm currently holding Steele with my initial intent of him becoming my F7/M9 still the target.
My current problem is that Hibberd (NM) and Strnadica (Fre) are my only non-playing bench players, so my loophole options are limited – I guess it's better than the opposite, having no playing bench players, and at least means there's steady fattening up of the slaughter options.

      Derek · 20/06/2017 at 23:55

      gotta have the DPP's

      The Ranger · 21/06/2017 at 08:50

Surely you'd got for a Saints player if you're playing that strategy?
They have three Sunday games over finals.

        Derek · 21/06/2017 at 08:57

i'm kicking myself for starting with cameron at r3. Swans have 9 of there last 6 games on a Friday/Thursday

          The Ranger · 21/06/2017 at 11:03

I did the same Derek. I was confident he'd get a game, make me some cash and that I'd then trade him down to Sterndick.
Another fail unfortunately. Prob have to just keep him now.

          Moustachio · 21/06/2017 at 18:02

Definitely weird when you had Preuss named R1…

            Derek · 21/06/2017 at 18:07

that was when Gawn got injured. Started with Gawn and Sandi

when gawn was injured i traded Preuss in for gawn. He played 1 game. Cameron sat on the forward bench while Nank covered in the rucks and Preuss at R3.

Rucks were a nightmare this year

Notorious mac · 20/06/2017 at 21:04

Will the return of harred mcviegh impact on jake lloyds scoring output

    jez_m · 20/06/2017 at 22:06

Unlikely. Lloyd scored 106 and 101 in the two games McVeigh has played this year. Newman on the other hand I wouldn't be as confident in.

    DacZawson · 20/06/2017 at 22:10

McVeigh is getting old and with the emergence of Newman and Lloyd I wouldn't be surprised if they played McVeigh off a forward flank for a bit to give those two the best chance to continue improving. Would be shocked if McVeigh played on after this year.

    Bells · 21/06/2017 at 16:43

But will he return….was badly exposed for pace when back. I think it's time for him. Hopefully they test his hammy in the neafl. Swans can't afford a loss if he goes down early.

Jakem · 20/06/2017 at 21:06

I havent got Docherty in my team and I feel like I've missed the bought for now.
Is it worth two trades to bring him in compared to 1 trade to bring in Jakey Lloyd?

    Dutch · 20/06/2017 at 21:59

Only if you have >12 trades, or if high up in the rankings …. Lloyd too much value this week to miss

Andy · 20/06/2017 at 21:13

Do you guys recon the Joel Selwood tag will be a reoccurring thing from now on?

    jez_m · 20/06/2017 at 22:12

Most teams have opted not to tag him, but stopping one of Danger/Selwood has proved effective against the Cats. I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

    Russty_ · 20/06/2017 at 22:15

Don't think so Andy as Geelong have Danger, Selwood, Duncan…even Guthrie lately posting good numbers, I think if teams were gonna tag Geelong regularly, the tag would shift to different players.

      Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 00:31

I reckon he is the best one to tag cos he's quick and can tear you apart if you let him. Duncan big strong harder to nullify and Guthrie can run around and have a bit of an impact anywhere.

He's the most threatening and probably the one other teams can influence the most. Expect the tag.

    The Ranger · 21/06/2017 at 08:31

It's been a thing for years Andy and he still averages 110 most years.
He just throws in the odd spud score too.

JDP · 20/06/2017 at 21:16

Do I trade Zac Jones to Lloyd or save the trade. Have Stewart as cover?

    Dutch · 20/06/2017 at 22:01

I would do it if you have sufficient trades left – most people would have seen Jones as a mid-price stepping stone rather than a keeper, so it matches the original purpose of him ….

joe · 20/06/2017 at 21:33

Correction to podcast's Peter: Geelong v Freo is at Geelong.

Dutch · 20/06/2017 at 21:40

Just spotted the article below on HS website – Cats club physio saying Scooter is running at training already, not yet ruled out for this weekend and is essentially listed as a "test". Sitting out the last quarter on the weekend was mostly precautionary.

I expect the Cats will stay play it safe and not play him this week, but it does sound like he's a realistic chance to only miss one. For the majority of supercoachers, unless at the pointy end of rank standings, may be worth holding for a week and re-assessing?

    Russty_ · 20/06/2017 at 21:51

Yeah I'll be holding for sure…I think they only took him out of the game cause he felt slightly twingy, so might only be a bit of tightness and some Physio electro magnetic stimulation could work wonders, I'm holding regardless…he still has 100k to make.

    Fitzo · 20/06/2017 at 22:04

I am a reasonably well known Physio and if the report above is correct and I think it is then Scooter will miss only a week. He certainly didn't grab his leg. Hammies are at least three weeks but a minor strain is usually a week. Also, my Physio mate at NM told me that Mitch Hibberd will play this week in the ones after another fine game in the twos last weekend. So, if you are contemplating trading in Ryan for Hibberd wait for selections on Thursday night.

      Dutch · 20/06/2017 at 22:11

If Hibberd plays that's a different challenge for me – I'll loose my loophole in D ….. still getting in Ryan regardless, likely for Berry or Barret

Russty_ · 20/06/2017 at 21:44

Hey guys, I brought K.Stevens in awhile back cause I thought he might be a good pod…(wrong!)…only got 10 trades left and 47K in the bank, my query is, would you hold on Spudly Stevens for one more week hoping he improves or maybe go to Adelaide's Lynch instead before Stevens bleeds much more cash which he will.

    DacZawson · 20/06/2017 at 21:52

You're just going from one problem to another.
If you have to trade I'd go to GC Tom Lynch, Jeremy Cameron or even Paddy Ryder before Adelaide Tom Lynch.
Of course this all assumes that you have Dahlhaus already.

      Russty_ · 20/06/2017 at 21:58

Yeah I have Dahlhaus, but I consider those four about the same as far as scoring potential goes, and they're all inconsistent…so it's a bit of a dilemma, I should probably hold I guess and see if he can do better.

    Dutch · 20/06/2017 at 21:56

Depends on whether you're only 1-2 off full premo Russty – if you are I would do it for sure if going for rank (and keep your fingers crossed that Lynch's sub-50 scores are behind him for the year).
The one reservation I've had from the start with any GC player is they're scheduled to play Port at AO in R23 which may not bode well for GC player scoring potential, which for League GF players could be a decisive factor – it's why I've shied away from GC players all year!

      Dutch · 20/06/2017 at 21:57

Ah, sorry Russty, I was thinking you were talking about GC's Lynch, not Adelaide's – may need new reading glasses ….

        Russty_ · 20/06/2017 at 22:00

Hahah no worries Dutch…what do you think of Adelaide's Lynch? averaging 99 last 3 rounds

          DacZawson · 20/06/2017 at 22:07

I was having a look through Lynch's stats and his scores have no real correlation with how the crows play and what ground they play at, which makes it really hard to judge how he could perform the second half of the year.
However, despite my suggestions above about the other options, I'm a sucker for a good POD so if your gut is telling you Lynch then jump on for a ride and hope for the best

          Dutch · 20/06/2017 at 22:09

As DZ said in his two replies, good POD, but I would be looking at some of the alternatives that DZ mentioned above first ….

            Russty_ · 20/06/2017 at 22:12

Cheers guys, not so much concerned about getting a pod as getting someone who can deliver good scores…just worried if I dump Steven's lately low scoring ass…and then he starts dropping tonnes again aaah lol Maybe I should just go Ryder?….wish he was more consistent though.

              Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 00:28

He's not the worst player you could take a chance on, having a really good year. he is 35K less than his starting price so flew under the radar a bit last season too.

                Russty_ · 21/06/2017 at 00:50

Yeah kind of agree Smokin…I'm thinking Stevens was just some old fool's gold now, freakin spud..but sometimes a fwd who can make ya between 85 and 95 can make the difference…cheers.

                  Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 00:58

Stevens was a good pick, then they went and gave him the tagging duties didn't they?

                    Russty_ · 21/06/2017 at 01:08

Yeah for one of the past 2 weeks, don't think he was a tagger last week, just a potato, cheers though…I reckon I'll go with Lynch, I believe he'll deliver more than Stevens. πŸ™‚

                  Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 00:59

I like Lynch because he's not that key position forward, he works hard finds space and has good ball use.

                    Russty_ · 21/06/2017 at 01:24

Cheers man, yeah I agree, he's reasonably solid-ish, and is affordable for what I can afford.

    The Ranger · 21/06/2017 at 08:23

Get all your other trades sorted first Russty, than if you've got enough left you can decide if it's worth moving him on.

Tommo09 · 20/06/2017 at 21:58

Have 9 trades and $4.9k left

Def: Doch, Adams, Laird, Simpson, Hibberd, Tuohy (Stewart, Ryan)
Mid: Danger, Mitchell, Pendles, Selwood, JPK, Bont, Fyfe, S.Selwood (Bolton, Cousins, Hibberd)
Ruc: Mummy, Sandi (Strnadica)
Fwd: Heeney, Macrae, Dahl, Nank, Lynch, Hannan (Greenwood, Eddy)

Thoughts on what to do this week???

    Russty_ · 20/06/2017 at 22:04

I'd hold this week Tommo, just swap Greenwood with Bolton so he can cover S.Selwood, who might miss this week.
Can't trade every week, sometimes you've just gotta let the dice roll.

James · 20/06/2017 at 22:06

13 trades left $85k in the bank. Was going to downgrade berry to Ryan leaving me with $262k. The problem now is I don't know who to upgrade! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

DEF: Doch, Adams, Laird, Simpson, Shaw, Newman EMG Stewart, Berry
MID: Danger, J.Selwood, Zorko, Treloar, JPK, Bont, Fyfe, Barrett EMG Bolton, Lloyd, Cousins
RUCK: Grundy, Nank EMG English
FWD: Macrae, Heeney, Dahlhaus, Franklin, Stewart, Greenwood EMG Parsons, Strnadica

    Burns. · 20/06/2017 at 23:08

Trade out either Berry or Stewart, then upgrade Barrett to maybe a Tom Mitchell.

Relton · 20/06/2017 at 22:11

Only want to do one of the options below as my first trade is scooter too neale.. after JS more so than huge cash
2.Barrett> mountford

    DacZawson · 20/06/2017 at 22:16

JS tough to judge with rookies given that one bad game could be the end of them. If you don't care about Berry's dpp swing I'd go for Ryan

    Stirlsy · 21/06/2017 at 00:07

1 and 2 have better JS then 3 2 is being used as a tagger so trade 1 for mine.

      Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 00:37

Agreed. Plus it means keeping Barrett over Berry. ALTHOUGH that DP status could come in handy.

    neil Demons Delight · 21/06/2017 at 08:37

    scooter a chance to play

Jamie · 20/06/2017 at 22:17

so who to trade out for Ryan? Hibberd (north) or go on a Barrett, or Stewart early? Or move s selwood?

    DacZawson · 20/06/2017 at 22:23

Not much point trading Hibberd this late in the season, personally I'd trade Barrett given his breakeven is at 55

      Jamie · 20/06/2017 at 22:31

Yeah that was my thinking, like hibberds dpp, largely why he has hung around

    Stirlsy · 21/06/2017 at 00:01

I went Barrett, tossed Hibberd into the guts, he will get games once North are out of contention, that's when Scotty will play his fringe players/kids and its a bonus if you have Adams. You never know the dpp might come in handy.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 21/06/2017 at 13:59

Hibbert also handy in the mids if you trade in Lloyd this week.
I'm trading Myers to Ryan creating that lovely DPP swing with Hibberd.

Sketter · 20/06/2017 at 22:23

Essendon football club contemplated getting O'Meara but after being examined by Dr. Reid, they decided he wasn't worth the risk. What is wrong with my Hawk Doctors!!!!! The mighty Hawks fell for this dud hook, line and sinker which resulted in us losing Mitchell, who is doing well in WA and Lewis who would still be handy. Sure the ex Swan Mitchell is a fantastic recruit but the Hawk medicos should hang their heads in shame. O'Meara might not ever be any good plus the 2018 trade to the Saints. We are in big trouble me thinks. Also with us losing some fine administrators, Clarko is not being held accountable and appears to have an enormous ego.

    Rocksta · 20/06/2017 at 23:13

You had your era……….give other teams/supporters a go!

I feel way more sorry for Jaeger than I do your hawks haha.

    Russty_ · 21/06/2017 at 01:23

How do you think your recruiting staff feels now after bringing Tyrone Vickery in from Richmond?…I mean why?…the guys not even injured but he's now a major liability in your list. The only reason I can see as to why the hawks brought O'Meara, and Vickery in was because, they were short of money?…only other explanation could be , obvious incompetence with recruiting.

    The Ranger · 21/06/2017 at 08:28

Mate I reckon your recruiting team have a few runs on the board…
    Frawley, Gibson, Burgoyne, Gunston

      jez_m · 21/06/2017 at 10:10

Couldn't agree more Ranger. Add McEvoy and Ceglar to that list as well. The positives far outweigh the negatives. O'Meara is going to be a long term project, not surprised they're wrapping him in cotton wool.

        Ruddigar · 21/06/2017 at 11:11

Keep on dreaming they have bought a lemon, and the only reason to get Tyrone was to make an even worse decision to draw attention away from JOM.

Ceglar?? When is he due to be inducted into the hall of fame?.

        Larry · 21/06/2017 at 14:07

      Bells · 21/06/2017 at 19:15

Runs on the board? Not real hard to get interest from older free agents in a Melbourne based Premiership team.
The Swans got Papley, Newman, Melican, Lloyd, Rampe and Cunningham from recent Rookie drafts. THAT is runs on the board. πŸ™‚

    Guest · 21/06/2017 at 13:20

Cosindering how many runs the Hawthorn recruiting staff and the medical team have on the board over the last 10 years, I think we can cut them some slack…who's to say he won't come back next year and be ready to fire? Not like the Hawks are losing much right now with him out anyway.

      Tibor · 21/06/2017 at 13:50

Rolling the dice on a player like JOM is perfectly ok but only if you don't have to give up much to do it…

    INPieman · 21/06/2017 at 13:28

    Lets review those trades

Saints got Ben Long Josh Battle & Hawks first round pick 2018 (currently pick 2)
Suns got Jack Bowes & Hawks 2nd round pick 2018 (currently pick 20)
Tigers got Shai Bolton (compensation for Vickery)

    Hawks got JOM & Vickery

    Oh boy!

      INPieman · 21/06/2017 at 13:36

And Hawks first pick this year is the Giants second round pick. And after Giants academy selections (allow 10 of those) & other academy & father sons etc then that pick looks damn ugly

        Tibor · 21/06/2017 at 13:46

Pieman sometimes just laying out the truthful hard facts can be the most cruel of taunts. As much as those running the show at Hawthorn have a fair bit of credit they have spent an enormous chunk of it with this madness. Pretty much everyone knew it was crazy at the time and maybe thought the Hawthorn crew knew something nobody else did. Turns out they just drank their own bath water

          INPieman · 21/06/2017 at 14:43

Last chance Saloon for the Hawks is try & do a Liam Jones with Vickery. He's run out of chances as a forward. They must have thought they could turn anyone into a good footballer. Not the case. And selling the farm for JOM had everyone other than Hawks fans wondering why. He sucked them in blaming the Suns medicos. And the Hawks fell for it. The Bombers dodged a huge bullet

            Tibor · 21/06/2017 at 15:43

The tigers are blaming the lack of a second marking target to support Jack for close losses, given their history maybe Hawthorn will sell Tyrone back to them….

Was close to bringing in Ryder in round 10. Pretty glad I didn't as he went 69, 81 & 81 the next 3 rounds. Only been over 100 3x this year.

        Derek · 21/06/2017 at 09:38

i brought him in a while ago so i've been watching him closely. he was playing alot better than his SC scores suggested. Not sure why that was the case, but i was confident that he would eventually be rewarded and the SC scores will come. last week he scored well and i think we will see more good scores from here on.

look at ports draw, especially the last 5 games of the season.

        Saints – HOME
        Adelaide – HOME
        Collingwood – HOME
        Dogs – AWAY
        Suns – HOME

4 of their last 5 at home and only one of those teams currently in the top 8. Adelaide is the showdown and form doesn't matter!

I'm seriously considering Wingard as my last forward.

    Tibor · 21/06/2017 at 13:57

Would not like to play an opponent in a SuperCoach final who has Gawn if you haven't got him. Certainly wait for the price drop and get a look at the big bloke to make sure you are confident he can pick up where he left off

ProTravo · 21/06/2017 at 09:06

Will be upgrading either Newman or Shaw to a Premo Mid next week via DPP.
Who should I have my eye on this round to bring in next week? At the moment i'm thinking Titch.
My best 22 are as below:

DEF: Doc Laird Lloyd Shaw Newman Hibberd (Melb)
MID: Danger Dusty Rocky Neale Treloar Kelly Bont Adams
RUCK: Mumford Goldstein
FWD: Heeney Yeo Dahl Mcrae Nank Greene

    SC_Kev7 · 21/06/2017 at 10:14

At this point it's the best you can afford, PT.

      ProTravo · 21/06/2017 at 10:32

I can afford to bring in any mid, just thinking which players will finish in the top 8 other than mids I already have.
Titch,, Pendles, Zerret and Zorko are options i'm thinking of at the moment but don't have a lot of confidence in which one to go with.

Jordan · 21/06/2017 at 09:20

Simpson, hibberd, or roberton
Leaning towArds Simpson as I feel teams will start to tag docherty which will free Simpson up

    SC_Kev7 · 21/06/2017 at 10:12

Doch has a 5 round average of 130 and has scored the second most points in the comp behind Danger. You'd think clubs would throw some pressure his way by now.

Go Roberton. I like Hibberd but he's in some doubt this week

      Derek · 21/06/2017 at 14:32

      You'd think that!

    Holty · 21/06/2017 at 10:34

Simpson for me. I think Simpson is the reason Doch doesn't get tagged. They play similar roles. What i have noticed in their games of late is neither will play that lose man behind the play for longer then 10min. They both rotate so difficult for a tagger to know what to do. So putting a tagger on doch will just mean he will play 1on1 against his opponent which allows Simpson free which seems to defeat the purpose of a tagger. Imo

    Ruddigar · 21/06/2017 at 14:21

I'm not sure it's that simple, who is being tagged, nobody really has gone hard at docherty, Simpson, Murph, Gibbs….kreuzer is flying, Liam jones looks good and silvagni is this weeks rising star. It is hard to take but they have become a pretty handy side that is being coached brilliantly. If docherty was going to be tagged out of the game that would have happened some time ago, even last year. I have thoroughly enjoyed carltons long run of crap but it's clear the guns over and we can console ourselves with hawthorns demise

Tommo · 21/06/2017 at 09:27

Which two out of Yeo, Zerrett or Oliver to finish the mids? Will get one this week, one next week. Cash in bank left after trading in one of these lads this week is Yeo 44k, Zerret, $900, Oliver 22k?

    Taco Corp · 21/06/2017 at 09:34

yeo should only be in your fwd line mate.

      ProTravo · 21/06/2017 at 09:54

      Taco Corp, love the name.

    Tibor · 21/06/2017 at 10:33

Oliver for me, team flying, big Max returning and jones injury steps him up the pecking order not really a tag target given his game style…. yeo should be a fwd pick only and zerrett is a ripper, I just reckon Oliver a little bit better option

Choice · 21/06/2017 at 09:39

I have Hanners, JPK, Franklin, Heeney & Newman. Is getting Lloyd just too much?

    Don't Blush Baby · 21/06/2017 at 10:10

Most teams are similar, no more byes, too much value to ignore , should average 95 -100 imo

    jez_m · 21/06/2017 at 10:12

My general rule is no more than two players from the same club on each line. In saying that, I've never had six players from the same club in my team. Chances are they won't all score over 100 in the same week.

    INPieman · 21/06/2017 at 10:42

Soothsayer · 21/06/2017 at 10:23

I am seriously considering going VERY early on Sharenberg to enable a swap for Selwood to Lloyd and Ryan. Looking then to move Lloyd back to defense when defense later for Stewart or Ryan. I am effectively jumping from Sharenberg to Ryan to enable me to get Lloys at the bargain price. Is this too wasteful in trades?

    Danno · 21/06/2017 at 20:43

      Soothsayer · 22/06/2017 at 12:35

Robbie Gray if M9/loophole, Wines or Shuey if on field, would personally go Shuey

    Derek · 21/06/2017 at 11:39

look at ports draw, especially the last 5 games of the season.

    Saints – HOME
    Adelaide – HOME
    Collingwood – HOME
    Dogs – AWAY
    Suns – HOME

4 of their last 5 at home and only one of those teams currently in the top 8. Adelaide is the showdown and form doesn't matter!

Holty · 21/06/2017 at 11:16

In: Neale and Ryan
Out: Scooter and Hannan
Someone mentioned earlier in these posts to give reasons as to why we do these trades which i think is a good idea oppose to just simply posting what i said above. So here is my reasoning…………………….

    Holty · 21/06/2017 at 11:21

Only joking. Ryan in simply for cash generation and seems a handy player.
Neale in because he is the 5th best averaging mid and he has achieved this without Sandi for the last month.
People have been talking up Zorko and Merrett which are both very solid choices but just feel they are at their scoring peak. I feel Neale could extract a few more points now Sandi is back

Rachael · 21/06/2017 at 11:16

Tom Stewart and Jarod Berry out and 10k in the bank. I'm looking at Hibberd or Lloyd to come in but once I make that choice I'm struggling for a cheap bench option. Any ideas appreciated

    Choppers · 21/06/2017 at 12:18

    Luke Ryan @117,300. if selected.

      The Ranger · 21/06/2017 at 12:38

Junker from Norf. $102K and it gives you a DEF/MID swing.

KrazeeEyezK1lla · 21/06/2017 at 11:22

Thinking of going Zak Jones to Zerrett by swinging Adams back to DEF, and bringing Junker in for SSelwood to open up the mid/def swing.

this will leave me with 8 trades, 261k in the bank and only really needing to upgrade Parsons and Greenwood. I'll have SPP as bench cover. thinking Newman stays in as my D6.

I'd like to wait for Gawn to go down to a little under 500k, and swing Nank up FWD, effectively turning Parsons into Gawn.

will end up full premo with maybe 4 or 5 trades left. then the fun begins

Derek · 21/06/2017 at 11:35

It looks like there will be more sleepless nights in the Bunny hole. I'm seriously thinking of getting LLoyd instead of Docherty this week.

LLoyd is just too much value to ignore.

The cash saved will let me get Wingard or Lynch this week (both have great run of games to finish). If i get Docherty i would need to get another rookie.

I will then only have ONE premium to get and that is R1 reserved Mr Gawn. He will be ready in a couple of weeks and JStewart & Parsons should be fattened up by then.

After trades this week, my team will look like:

Laird, Shaw, Adams, Rance, Simpson, LLoyd (Berry, Scharenberg)

Dangerfield, JSelwood, Pendlebury, TMitch, Hanneberry, JPK, Ablett, Fyfe (Bolton, Pickett, Cousins)

Martin, Ryder (cameron)

Macrae, Dahlhaus, Franklin, Nank, Wingard, Greenwood (Parsons, JStewart)

7 trades & $28k

Plan is to get Gawn at R1 and swing Ryder into F6 in a couple of weeks.

The masterplan is to have a decent bench player to swing across a number of lines. This will depend on how much cash i have after the Gawn trade.

Berry >> Docherty. Might be a stretch. Lloyd at D7/M9. Greenwood will need to be sold to get cash.

Greenwood >> Wallis F7/M9. keep Berry at D7

    Keenbutclueless · 21/06/2017 at 12:02

As much as it will grieve not to have Docherty, I think the right option is Greenwood to Wallis. Nank as R3, F7, M9 is probably the right answer.

We should get a discount if the group of us who don't have Doc book a therapy session

      The Ranger · 21/06/2017 at 12:20

Think I'm just gonna give up on getting the DocI
Planned to get him this week but trading out Berry and Stewart still doesn't get me enough cash so i'm now weighing up whether to get Llyod as my D6 and bank 150K to put towards my M8 spot next week or trade in an M8 now and have to take Ryan or Scharenbergs score until they fatten up enough to get me a D6…

      Derek · 21/06/2017 at 12:23

i'm kicking myself for having Cameron as R3. swans have nearly all friday games to finish, with Nank & Ryder i was looking to do a bit of fancy ruck swinging. spewin'

        TheGreatBozza · 21/06/2017 at 12:35

I went Cameron over Strndica purely because I thought he'd play!! That would've allowed me for a quick cash dump later on in the season as I'm playing for leagues. The worst part is I was 5k short of Yeo last week so I went with Tommy Lynch instead.

          Derek · 21/06/2017 at 13:34

Stuffs my VC loophole as well, only Pickett as other non playing rookie

        Keenbutclueless · 21/06/2017 at 15:17

I picked Cameron as well. I really thought he was as good as Parfitt, Pickett and all those spuds. I chose Deluca Cardillo as my floating donut. It was my "genius" move of the pre-season. It meant I could multiple loop forward and mid-rookies. No more big rookie scores left on the bench. Was a great theory. But all I was looping was 20's and 40's week after week.
I have brought in Junker as a loop this week. Also the dollars saved means I am likely to only need one trade to go Barrett to Bont next week.

          Derek · 21/06/2017 at 16:06

ill get junker next week instead of getting Brown. Need him in guts to give Lloyd and Adams a swing set

      Derek · 21/06/2017 at 14:04

I could still get Docherty. Hoping Parsons and JStewart + $28k will get me Gawn and Junker in 2 weeks.

After that I'll have Berry scharenberg and/or Greenwood to get me Docherty and a rookie.

az12 · 21/06/2017 at 11:41

Hi Guys
First timer here. Would love some comments on how my team is positioned. I'm in numerous cash leagues near the top.
I have 13 trades pre-rd14 and 50k.
Def: Doch, Adams, Roberton, Newman, Shaw, Hibberd (Stewart, Ryan)
Mid: Danger, Ablett, Treloar, Pendles, Murphy, Hep, Steven, Scooter (Fisher, Brodie, Cousins)
Ruck: Martin, Ryder
For: Bud, Heeney, Dal, McRae, Greene, Greenwood (Black, Eddy)

I'm thinking of upgrading Scooter to Neale this week.
Keeping some trades in the chest for potentially bringing in Gawn/Sloane/Martin down the track.

    ProTravo · 21/06/2017 at 11:49

Neale will be a great pick up. Gawn or Martin will be nice down the track but I would be giving Sloane a miss.
Struggles with a tag and most coaches are well aware of that.

    Derek · 21/06/2017 at 12:34

it is great you have so many trades left, but your worry is the cash generation. i would hold SSelwood as he has cash to make. get rid of the spuds who are not playing and build your warchest

Rick Grimes · 21/06/2017 at 12:11

I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on Robbie Grey. It's a massive punt, but the risk vs reward vs value vs balls to the wall wild SC ride is mighty tempting. I'd pocket $140k in going him over Zerrett. I just feel that money could be super valuable in the long run if, and it's a massive if, Grey can average 110 from here on out.

    INPieman · 21/06/2017 at 12:37

Hope it works out for ya Rick! Ballsy

      Rick Grimes · 21/06/2017 at 13:21

I'm running out of trades, I'll need luck!! But there's not that many times in SC when you find an absolute gun sitting in the reduced to clear bin. Plus I'm a filthy gambler so it appeals to my nature.

    neil Demons Delight · 21/06/2017 at 13:16

I wouldnt do it but its those moves that seperates you great pod ..Rick

    Derek · 21/06/2017 at 14:31

I named Gray in my top 10 mids at the start of the season

    Rocksta · 21/06/2017 at 15:09

Are they playing him in the guts, or is he still spending a lot of the time in the forward line?

      DacZawson · 21/06/2017 at 15:49

      Majority as a forward

Wattsieesq · 21/06/2017 at 12:19

JJK is down for at least another fortnight.

What do do with him? Hold or trade?

I have Yeo, Heeney, Dahl and McCrae as my other premo's. I could swing Nank forward and bring in Goldy or another premo forward, but no premo forwards are really sticking out.

    INPieman · 21/06/2017 at 12:40

Depends on your cover Wattie. If it's a Parsons type I'd move him on. If it's Greenwood perhaps hold him. Greene or Wallis perhaps

      Wattsieesq · 21/06/2017 at 15:23

I've only got Greenwood, Stewart (Ess) and Bolton up forward. I'd have to play either Stewart or Bolton, which I'm not keen on. I'm leaving towards Greene. I've got Fyfe and am weary of bringing in another player who's come back from a long term leg injury.

        INPieman · 21/06/2017 at 17:50

Greene is a flog. But a damn good footy player & seems to be a good SC option. Can score big & fast

    jez_m · 21/06/2017 at 12:45

Where are you hearing that? West Coast haven't ruled him out for this week yet: http://m.westcoasteagles.com.au/news/2017-06-20/c

      jez_m · 21/06/2017 at 12:53

I stand corrected, just saw the new injury update. I'm holding him personally.

    INPieman · 21/06/2017 at 12:46

Actually this is a new injury being a slight tear in the Achilles. I'd move him on

    Rick Grimes · 21/06/2017 at 13:23

Move him on. Ryder is an option. Gives you a swing with Nanky which might be handy. Has a big ceiling and Port have that nice run home. Heck, why aren't I doing this….?

      Derek · 21/06/2017 at 13:52

      Ryder is da man

Da_Boysh · 21/06/2017 at 12:30

Hi All,

I never post my team but I need some advice
DEF: Doch, Laird, Lloyd, Rance, Newman, Hibberd (Ryan, McNiece)
MID: Danger, Mitchell, Oliver, Murphey, Bont, Kennedy, Fyfe, Treloar (SPP, Cousins, Hibberd Nth Melb)
RUC: Goldy, Nank (Strndica)
FWD: Yeo, Macrae, Dahl, Buddy, Lynch GC, Heeney (McInnes, Durdin)

Brought in Lloyd and Heeney this round which leaves me with 7 trades and 27k in the bank. should I call my team full premo or do I need to burn some more trades i am thinknig Fyfe and Nank need to go. Also should I bring in Heeney or Toby Greene will have slightly less ownership, has not gone up in price so I am not at a disadvantage, also allows me to trade McInnes instead of having to trade Greenwood. Or is Heeney the way to go.

    TheGreatBozza · 21/06/2017 at 12:33

That final time is nice but I'd maybe wait a few weeks to see if you can go McInnes > Heeney then. I believe Greenwood makes a great F7 cover so I'd try keep him if you could. Personally I'd go Heeney over Greene too

      Da_Boysh · 21/06/2017 at 12:39

I have two league games on the line by like 40 points i am worried if I leave Greenwood at F6 he wont get the job done. But I think you are right I need to get rid of the waste that is McInnes thanks!

        Derek · 21/06/2017 at 13:55

Greenwood plays Thursday. On the bench with E. see what happens.

          Da_Boysh · 21/06/2017 at 14:12

Decided to bring in Heeney and get Lloyd next week with McInnes swing. I dont think getting rid of greenwood is a good idea as you said

            Derek · 21/06/2017 at 14:29

I've watched Greenwood play. Gun. Will score better as his TOG increases.

Crows play hawks at home Thursday. As a Hawks fan I'll be playing tennis, it could be brutal!

    neil Demons Delight · 21/06/2017 at 13:05

Struggling to fault it.. Fyfe the only one a little suss but we will all have them .At this stage I am at full prem but Witts and Ryder my worries but both are averaging mid 90s like Fyfe will end up

      Da_Boysh · 21/06/2017 at 13:15

Thanks! i am hoping 7 trades is enough in the bank, i dont want to mess with my Ruc too much if they are getting more than 90 i dont see it as a priority, wait for someone to inevitably get injured or for Gawn to drop heaps of cash when he comes back.

    lazza · 21/06/2017 at 13:45

Need to replace Nank asap… losing value every week…
Your other problem is that you have a non-player on every line which is ok for loop holing, but not for cover or building cash to max your 7 trades. With such a low bank and low value bench you only have value in SPP to exploit.
You may only get the chance for 1 up-and-down value trade, the rest to cover outs or sideways movement in the finals.e.g. Fyfe and Lynch. (problem with them is they have lost value too, so will be hard to upgrade to true premo).

Your team is very good, only Nank and Newman non-premo, but Newman is not a bad keeper.

      Da_Boysh · 21/06/2017 at 13:49

agreed cash generation is a problem, I am hoping SPP, Ryan and Callum Brown can be enough for the ride home (brown will come in next week for either SPP or Hibberd)

    Moustachio · 21/06/2017 at 18:14

    Newman to Adams
    Nank to Gawn

TheGreatBozza · 21/06/2017 at 12:42

Neale/J.Selwood/Dusty/Merrett for last midfield spot?
My options are to go Lloyd this week and play him as a M8 for the time being, or upload SPP or Scooter to one of the mids above.
Other trade is most likely Stewart to Ryan

    Rick Grimes · 21/06/2017 at 13:25

Scooter to any of those listed would be the go, IMO. Draw straws, they're all guns.

Mitch · 21/06/2017 at 13:02

10 trades 64.2k salary
Def: Laird/Simpson/Hibberd
Bench: Scharanberg/Ryan

Mid: Zorko/Sloane/Neale/Taranto
Bench: S.Selwood/Bolton/Cousins

Ruck: Grundy/Witts
Bench: Vardy

Fwd: Yeo/Heeney/Kennedy
Bench: Greenwood/Mcinnes

Was thinking of downgrading either selwood or taranto to Mountford and upgrading the other to a premo mid. Or should i be prioritising JJK? Any advice appreciated

    ProTravo · 21/06/2017 at 13:43

Hold on to JJK for now, you have Greenwood for cover. Definitely need get another premo in that midfield.

      Mitch · 21/06/2017 at 13:49

    mitch · 21/06/2017 at 13:32

Yeah, i can't really afford to be sideways trading, but who knows how long JJK will be out for?

    DacZawson · 21/06/2017 at 15:54

Personally I lean toward trading when people have lower leg injuries as they seem more likely to stretch out further than the first diagnosis of weeks missed.

I'm not sure if there's stats to back that up or it's a personal bias, just my thoughts.

Big G · 21/06/2017 at 13:43

Lloyd, Tuohy, Hibberd
(Ryan, Hibberd)

Danger, Martin, Pendles
Oliver, Zorko, Adams
Kennedy, Fyfe
(Maynard, Cousins, Brown)

Nank, Martin (strnadica)

Yeo, MacRae, Greene
Dalhaus, Franklin, Greenwood
(Parsons, Eddy)

5 trades left and 95k in bank

Should i do something else otherwise
Going to hold for a few weeks now. Any ideas what to do once greenwood has made more money?

    Defying_Madness · 21/06/2017 at 14:42

Once Greenwood has made cash look to move him on to Gawn and swing Nank back into the forwards

    Holty · 21/06/2017 at 15:30

Imo, you already have 6 defenders with Adams in the mids so why bring in another defender? Lloyd is great value but id prefer bringing in a mid who will score you an extra 15 points a week.

      Whatyasmokin · 21/06/2017 at 15:38

Could trade out Tuohy at some stage and shift Adams back?

        Mavs17 · 21/06/2017 at 16:04

I just swung Adams to the Mid in place of Scooter. Not going to trade Tuohy he will be a good assett for the rest of the year

        Holty · 21/06/2017 at 16:27

Fair point mate but not sure if i would be planning sideways trades for the future with only 5 trades left and upgrades still to be made.

      Mavs17 · 21/06/2017 at 16:06

You do realise Adams plays MID every week? He isnt even a defeder and i would much rather have him then Scooter in the MID. Lloyd gives me money to upgrade Greenwood in a few weeks to a Ruck and swing Nank FWD. The only MIDs i can get are like Goddard, Wines, Shuey etc and really Lloyd and Adams are both more consistant than all of those MIDS

        Holty · 21/06/2017 at 16:58

Well thankyou Mavs for the info, however, i do realise he plays in the midfield every single week, that is why he is so valuable in our backlines for SC. All im saying is u already have a very solid (full premo) backline without Lloyd. So do you pull the trigger now and get Lloyd or wait 1 or 2 more weeks and potentially get someone like the Bont(can you afford him this week instead of Lloyd) or another mid? Imo, ur SC team would look a lot better with Adams in ur backline

          Mavs17 · 21/06/2017 at 17:33

I mainly want to do this move so I can get the coin, my MID and DEF are both done now and I wait a few weeks for Greenwood to make more money then swing Nank FWD to bring in someone like Gawn. Plus I don't really see the point in keeping Scooter if he will be out for a week, that would mean I have to play another Rookie on field.

            Holty · 21/06/2017 at 18:44

Im disposing of Scooter this week as well so agree with that. Either way, you just need to weigh up whats more important to you. You are 2 premos away from a very good looking side. Gawn is a great choice so i guess is bringing Lloyd in this week and saving a possible trade outweigh potentially bringing in a gun mid? Either way, you are improving your side so wish you all the luck.

              Mavs17 · 21/06/2017 at 18:55

Yeah I understand what you are saying. I'm not going for Rank this year and am up against the top guys in my leagues this week so cant really afford another Rookie on field other than Greenwood. I think Lloyd is a steal for his price and scoring ability. Adams is a pure MID and will quite easily average 110 this year. So I think its a win/win. There are not many MIDS that are affordable and are consistent at this stage. Bont is good but The DOGS are stuffed atm so I don't think he will play that well tbh.

OleUnited · 21/06/2017 at 14:52

Thoughts on Jack Billings over other forward options?
Already have Yeo, Macrae, Dalhaus, Buddy, Nank.

    Tibor · 21/06/2017 at 16:10

Toby Greene for a little more, Mitch wallis for a little less or save a bit and go petracca as a pod

    Bells · 21/06/2017 at 17:30

Agree with Timor. Greene a pretty good choice. Wallis continues to score well even when they lose.

      Tibor · 21/06/2017 at 22:11

Petracca a bit of a stretch Bells, not convinced?

        Bells · 22/06/2017 at 13:40

BIG risk there. Not for me diue to variation in scoring potential.

          Tibor · 22/06/2017 at 17:44

Fair call but it's also almost word for word what was said about investing in Oliver at 382k at the start of the year and that worked out ok, you have to make a calculated risk to get in at the ground floor on the really good ones and low 400's is unders for petracca and gives cash for other options if your struggling to et to full premo or at least what most think is full premo…

Petracca started pretty much as full time half fwd so would go quiet a bit but now getting more mid time..

Gjlane123 · 21/06/2017 at 15:11

Adams injury risk or Roberton as last defender upgrade ??

Keenbutclueless · 21/06/2017 at 15:34

A lot of talk about bringing in Neale this week. Just saw in Ross Lyon's interview a sneaky reference that Neale has a small injury doubt. Might want to wait until the last minute on that trade in case he is a late out

neil Demons Delight · 21/06/2017 at 15:53

Has J J s price gone south every club will tag him and maybe he will go after todays news. Norm Smith medallist would be handy to a lot of clubs

    SC_Kev7 · 21/06/2017 at 17:42

Not every club has a tagger.

JJ will only leave the dogs if he puts a ridiculous sum on his head. Team before individuals

      Tibor · 22/06/2017 at 17:48

He's done that, the figure is 800k, someone might pay that for a half back flanker but I'm not sure they should, as for the norm smith I reckon it should have been tom Boyd or even Picken then JJ? Maybe he wouldn't have such a huge opinion of himself if that happened

Eddy · 21/06/2017 at 15:57

J Selwood, Neale or Kelly?

    SF4 · 21/06/2017 at 15:59

      Don't Blush Baby · 21/06/2017 at 16:31

Kelly might be out this week, I'm looking at Neale myself only because imo a similar output ,also saves you 29k for someone else when things are tight

Bells · 21/06/2017 at 16:36

Fellow Comunitarians,
I'm thinking Perryman might score better this week. With others out I think he might get through the mids and have increased tog. He was a real piggy in the neafl.
I've got the choice to either upgrade Scooter to Zorko , or Perryman to Lloyd this week. Going the former as I think I'll get more points out of that option. My bench option in mids are Cousins or Fischer, not many points there. Down back I've got Scharenburger to cover and loophole with Perryman hopefully.
I'll possibly get Lloyd next week. Surely Sch goes up more than Lloyd…right?

Dusty_Spurs · 21/06/2017 at 16:56

Hi Community, I have 8 trades left and 13 k in the bank, my team is as follows:

DEF: Doch, Laird, Rance, Shaw, Newman, Hibberd (Perryman, Ryan)

MIDS: Danger, Martin, Titch, Bont, Kennedy, Hanners, Treloar, Fyfe (Pepper, Fisher, Cousins)

Rucks: Witts, Sandi (Strandica)

FWDS: Yeo, Macrae, Dahl, Nank, Lynch, Kennedy (Greenwood, Parsons)

I'm concerned that neither Sandi or Kennedy will play this week and I can't rely on them coming back soon, any thoughts on what to do?

Thinking of bringing in Mumford for Sandi, Pepper down to a non playing rookie and then covering Kennedy with Greenwood until we know more.

    SC_Kev7 · 21/06/2017 at 17:40

JJK has been ruled out. There is only 15k between a non player and Brown. Never know when you'll need him and his DPP will open up a swing with Greenwood.

Personally I'd wait a week or two for Gawn

Bengels01 · 21/06/2017 at 17:14

Hey lads,
Wanting to get rid of one of or both heppell and beams. Who should I get rid of, if any, of the two?
Also, who for, Neale, Merrett, Jelwood, TMitchell, Zorko or Kelly?

    SC_Kev7 · 21/06/2017 at 17:35

If you're right for trades then Neale is great value this week. Zorko if money is no issue. Beams has been in great touch of late, just a down week last week

      Bengels01 · 21/06/2017 at 22:33

Just worried about rockliffs impact on beams as earlier in the season it resulted in lower scores for beams. Reckon rockliff will have any affect on zorko or only the sc gods know?

Bradk · 21/06/2017 at 17:24

Hey is rocky injured? I've heard rumors, but have had a busy week at work and haven't kept up.

He played fwd and had barely any time on ground.. just wanted to know the prognosis.

Jess · 21/06/2017 at 17:30

DEF: Doch, Adams, Hibberd (Melb), Shaw, Tuohy, Newmann (Berry, Hibberd – Nth)
MID: Danger, Pendles, Fyfel, JJK, Merrett, Beams, Bont, S-Pepper (S Selwood, Myers, Cousins)
RUC: Sandi, Martin (Strandica)
FWD: Dahl, Macrae, Lynch, Buddy, Nank, Greenwood (Parsons, Eddy)
12 Trades – Only 3K
Thinking: Ryan and one of Lloyd, Laird, Yeo, Riewoldt
Would love your best supercoach trade IN/OUT options.

Jake.B · 21/06/2017 at 17:34

12 Trades left & 147k in the bank but also opportunity to downgrade a Stewart to build the bank even more and go for docherty… But who to make way?
Or just downgrade a Myers to upgrade a Barrett to a merrett?

DEF – Laird, Hurley, Hibberd, Shaw, Newman & Lloyd (stewart+ryan)
MID – Danger, Zorko, Kelly, Pendlebury, Oliver, Bonti, Fyfe & Barrett (fisher+myers+miles)
RUCK – Grundy & Nankervis (strndica)
FWD – Macrae, Franklin, Dahlhaus, Higgins, Lynch & Greenwood (bolton+parsons)

My plan is also to trade Greenwood when he bottoms out Put nank into the fwd and effectively swap Greenwood for Gawn. Also if nank the tank runs out of fuel an upgrade of him to Yeo/heeney maybe?

Atm I'm wondering if I should go with Docherty or not as I'm notnsur e who to replace him with before he gets too expensive

    Dean · 21/06/2017 at 18:32

I think your defence looks fairly solid at the moment especially while Newman keeps delivering.
Yes it would be great to get Docherty in but your team needs at least two player to even consider being close to a fully premo side.

I personally believe you answered your own question. If it were me I would be trading Myers to either one of Mountford or Brown if named obviously.

Keep Miles as he has the DPP allowing you to switch Bolton & Greenwood into your Mid & Forward which is important then trade Barrett to Zerrett you need your last premo midfielder ASAP mate.

If I were you I would try everything to keep Greenwood in your side as a half decent bench cover because your bench cover is quite weak.
Look at trading Parsons before trading Greenwood or Bolton as they both give you that extra cover in the Midfield/Forward just hold on to Miles obviously.

Once you have made these trades then I personally would trade out Parsons to Goldy via DPP which would bring Nank into your forward line which would see you at full premo.
If you don't like that idea then look at trading out Parsons in a week or two to bring in Yeo or Wallis in your Forward line next week or the week after once you have generated enough cash.

You are fairly lucky as you will still have 10 trades left after this week which is more trades then most people.
Then continue to see how you are going with trades and if players such as Nank, Fyfe & Shaw don't improve then look at upgrading them later.

You have a solid team and forget about chasing GUNS like Docherty right now because your team hasn't reached full premo yet.
Remember you might very well end up trading either Newman or Shaw for Docherty at some point within the next 4 to 8 rounds.
Your priority is bringing in your last Midfielder first and foremost & then your last Forward or ruck depending if you bring Nank in as your last Forward which I strongly recommend.

      Jake.B · 21/06/2017 at 18:40

Thank you Dean! Very insightful and helpful I will keep a lot of this in mind and probably will follow it. Liking the goldy idea too & Yes you're right that trade to a merrett or someone that's a gun should be what I do first before worrying about docherty. I was really 50/50 with what to do. If Greenwood keeps it up then yes I definatly will. Especially If I make enough cash to upgrade merrett and a Parsons to a YEO I will be rapt!
      Thanks again!

        Dean · 21/06/2017 at 19:31

Just trade Myers to Brown or Mountford and then Barrett to Merrett this week that should leave you with $22,000 to $26,000 depending whether you get Brown $117,300 or Mountford $123,900

I'm sure you know this but just in case you dont. You can do the trade now just to play around and reverse the trade if you don't like it.

Then look to generate cash next week and the following so you can trade out Parsons to Goldy or Kreuzer via Nank that will bring Nank in your forward line and that makes your team full premo.

        Good luck mate.

Pretty solid there to be honest

    Russty_ · 21/06/2017 at 18:13

Initially on looking at your midfield, I'm jealous…if you really have to trade someone out, I'd probably say Rockliff, if you're sure he's not fully fit, or Sloane, cause he seems to be copping the tag lately.

    Moustachio · 21/06/2017 at 18:18

Surely you have bigger problems to address.

    Spook · 21/06/2017 at 18:26

Not a bad mid field but certainly not the best. Have a look at the top teams.

      Bradk · 21/06/2017 at 18:47

I'm one of the top teams and can say this midfield is gold. What are you smoking spook?

    Dean · 21/06/2017 at 19:42

Are you serious mate or are you taking the pi$$?

That midfield is bloody AWESOME. If that's your only concern then you must have a bloody DELICIOUS team overall.

I'm a Zorko fan I might add but if I had your midfield I wouldn't be wasting a trade to bring Zorko in just yet.

    Dean · 21/06/2017 at 20:41

The top 13 midfielders based on their averages that have played 12 games.
    Ave Points Games
    #1 Danger 126 1517 12
    #2 Martin 117 1403 12
    #3 Sloane 116 1395 12
    #4 Titch 115 1390 12
    #5 Neale 114 1375 12
    #6 Zorko 114 1374 12
    #7 Selwood 112 1349 12
    #8 Merrett 112 1345 12
    #9 Pendles 112 1344 12
    #10 Gibbs 111 1332 12
    #11 Oliver 110 1330 12
    #12 Murphy 110 1321 12
    #13 Bont 109 1315 12
    #14 Rockliff 113 1138 10

You have the top 5 midfielders in order including Oliver at #11 & BONT at #13 – Not to mention Rockliffs average is at 113 which would put him in 7th place if he had played 12 games.

POINT being from Zorko who has scored 1374 points this season to Bontempelli who has scored 1315 there is a difference of 59 points in total over 12 games played.
This equates to Zorko scoring 4.91 points extra per game compared to Bontempelli based on their averages.

Seriously even IF I was lucky enough to have 18 trades left and if my midfield was the same as yours I still wouldn't even contemplate trading out Rocky or Bont for Zorko especially at this stage.

You are LITERALLY talking a bee's hymen in points generation between Zorko and your lowest average midfielder in Bont – Less then 5 points per game between them on their averages.

    I'm gobsmacked I seriously am.

    whatyousmokin · 22/06/2017 at 13:01

jimmy · 21/06/2017 at 17:52

Community do I trade JJ or keep him? My argument for keeping him is that the dogs surely cant play this bad for much longer and he surely wont be getting tagged on a weekly basis. My argument for getting rid of him goes past the last two weeks as he hadnt exactly been tearing it up. I can bring in Jeremy Howe or a Heath Shaw?

    Russty_ · 21/06/2017 at 18:07

Yeah maybe hold him Jimmy, hopefully he can't drop in price much more and he needs to bounce back soon or he's gonna be dropped.

Floss · 21/06/2017 at 18:25

Teams will continue to tag him because he used to give the Dogs so much run plus he can't cop a push and a shove. If you trade him DON'T TRADE IN SHAW.

Hassa it would be bloody beyond STUPID if they did risk Scooter considering his past injury record.

IF they did risk Scooter and decided to play him then expect Scooter's hamstring tightness to end up coming off the bone IF he plays this week. Either that or he'll score you 45 points because he will be scared to stretch out and won't bother trying.

No way will they play Scooter over Freo this week. I personally don't see Scooter playing prior to round 16.

Hi community,

I think it is time to trade out JJK. Appears he will be out for another 2 weeks. That means he would have been sitting on the pine for 5 weeks. TOO LONG. Now that Cousins has been dropped as well I have seriously reconsidered my trades this week. I am going to stay disciplined and patient. Trades I might pull this week are as follows-

OUT- JJK IN- Mountford via DPP.
OUT- Cousins IN- Jake Lloyd

$120K in the warchest.

Will still be 2 short from being full premo but have Tom Stewart at D6 and Hugh Greenwood at F6. Both are quality scoring rookies which are still fattening nicely. I still have Berry, Bolton, and Ryan generating cash as well.

I reckon it is worth being patient, and getting to full premo being able to chose the very best with the cash generated from my remaining quality rooks.

What are others thinking of doing this week?

    lewyhewy · 21/06/2017 at 20:20

      TOPHAWK1 · 21/06/2017 at 20:55

Its magic. Try it! It works

      SCdonkey · 21/06/2017 at 20:55

He's probably got over 400K saved in the kitty. For him to do those trades, i think TH was looking to bring in Lloyd this week.

TOPHAWK1 · 21/06/2017 at 21:00

I agree 100% Doncs. My patience has run out with JJK. I need to put that $480K to use right now. As I also play for rank, you can not sit on the fence forever for weeks and weeks for a premo to come good. I gave him 3 weeks. He deserved that, but now it is time to move on like the game moves on. Tough decisions for strategic reasons. Cheers mate.

Jordy · 21/06/2017 at 22:27

Which Midfielder to bring in this week?

Zorko, Kelly, Jelwood, Neale, JPK, Oliver or Rockliff?

Would like to save some money so i can get my last premo next week in the forward line.

    rory · 22/06/2017 at 11:51

Dean Billman · 22/06/2017 at 02:30

Loved the midfield discussion boys.

Most of us started with a stacked midfield, with only 1 or 2 upgrades to make. I'm going Merrett this week, and either Zorko or Dusty for my last upgrade.
No way I'm considering Sam Mitchell, or Robbie Gray. The midfield is where most points are generated, you need to spend your cash there.

Better off finding value in the backs/forwards, Lloyd has to be considered this week if you need to complete your backline.

rory · 22/06/2017 at 11:51

roberton or hurley

Tim · 22/06/2017 at 14:04

In a rut this week.
Ranked 345 with 7 trades left & $198K in the bank.
DEF: Doch, Laird, Adams, Simpson, Newman, M Hibberd (McNiece, Witherden)
MID: Danger, TMitch, Neale, Pendles, Oliver, Murphy, Bont, Treloar (Bolton, Cousins, M Hibberd)
RUCK: Goldy, Ryder (Strndick)
FWD: Yeo, Macrae, Dahl, Franklin, Nank, Greenwood (Parsons, Brown)

Priority is to upgrade Greenwood to Riewold, Heeney or Greene.

Considering generating some more cash by bringing in Ryan to Def – then trade out 2 of Greenwood, Ryan & Parsons next round to bring in premo FWD
Trade out Simpson this week for Lloyd (brings bank to $286,800) & then trade in Riewold or Heeney (not enough cash for Greene).

    Goat · 22/06/2017 at 14:16

I would go the last option (Heeney). Still gets you 2 trades and 2 premiums and you keep Greenwood who I think is your best bench player.

      Tim · 22/06/2017 at 17:44

Who do you think is better out of Greene and Heeney?
Concerned with Heeney's illness and Greene is always a game away from being suspended

        Dean · 22/06/2017 at 18:47

Get rid of Parsons not Greenwood mate.

    Dean · 22/06/2017 at 18:44

Firstly congrats on ranking 345th mate – However in all honesty you seriously need to start pulling the brakes on trades because what you're ranked at round 14 means nothing if you run out of trades because you'll be lucky if you finish in the top 2000 due to your lack of trades and this happens year after year.

My advice right now would be to bring in Greene over Heeney, When you're ranked so close you have to bite the bullet especially considering you have very little cover.

Your priority is NEXT week you really MUST bring in Lloyd as TOP bench cover but you have to put him in your defence so you can then utilise him as DEFENCE & MID cover via Mitchell Hibberd.
Mate your team has literally ZERO cover in defence and crap cover in your Midfield and for a $420k player who averages 100 baring his (4) when concussed you just wont find a player who averages 100 at this price AGAIN this season.
He is only projected to go up $7,000 this week if he scores 90 – So look bloody hard to bring him in next week and keep Newman as Defence bench cover but by you having him in your side he is top midfield cover also at a cheap price.

I mean even with Hibberd in your midfield with the DPP of DEF/MID looking at your current team having hibberd's handy DPP doesn't help you one bit because if you bring Adams into your midfield via Hibberd you're then left with no cover in defence.

I would hold onto Greenwood as your F7 also as he is your only half decent bench cover as Goat stated.

    Good luck m8

Bruce · 22/06/2017 at 14:49

DEF: Doch, Laird, Howe, Lloyd, Newman, M Hibberd (McNiece, Stewart)
MID: Danger, TMitch, Neale, Martin, Treloar, Duncan, Bont, J P Kennedy (S.Selwood, Cousins, Brown)
RUCK: Goldy, Grundy (Strndick)
FWD: Yeo, Macrae, Dahl, Franklin, Nank, Greenwood (Parsons, Eddy)

100k in bank and 2 trades to do this week still.. thoughts?

jimmy · 22/06/2017 at 15:51

Anyone looking at Dom Sheed?

    Bingobangojingojango · 22/06/2017 at 17:14

Bit risky in my opinion unless you are strapped for cash. Maybe next year

    Tibor · 22/06/2017 at 18:00

Only his missus I would have thunk

Shake n bake · 22/06/2017 at 16:29

Myers dropped

Mitch · 22/06/2017 at 16:35

In a bit of a pickle. I've got JJK collecting donuts and a gaping hol waiting to be filled by docherty, but i dont want to spend the absurd 640k on him.
DEF: Laird, Adams, LLoyd, Shaw, Hibberd, Stewart (Scharenberg, Berry)
MID: full premo
RUC: Sandi, Stef (strn)
FWD: Yeo, Macrae, Dahl, JJK, Nank, Higgins (greenwood, Parsons)
10 trades with nothing in the bank.

given ive held JJk for the byes and hell be out another 1-2 weeks, im not sure if hes worth the trade. im only looking to win league grand finals. Thinking of just swapping Berry or Barrett to Ryan to generate some cash
any suggested moves this week are appreciated

    Dean · 22/06/2017 at 17:44

Hold JJK now that you have held onto him this long. Also I would keep Berry as he has DPP so that helps for your DEF/MIDS

Unfortunately you wont have enough cash to bring in Docherty regardless who you trade out, unless you make two downgrades which would be silly.
If you would have had $640k by trading Barrett to Ryan then you would definitely be crazy not to go Sewart to Docherty however its not on the cards so don't worry about Docherty for now.

Trade Barrett to Ryan if he is named obviously then trade out Stewart which will give you $559,000 then look to bring in either Hurley, Roberton or Williams OR whoever you like that you can afford.

It's worth considering also if Shaw starts scoring 70 to 80's continuously again, look to bring in Brown next week if he plays this week and ends up being named for round 15 for cash generation.
Then you more then likely could bring in Docherty by upgrading Shaw which would be definitely worthwhile if he Shaw starts scoring crap again which could quite easily start happening again.

    Good luck mate

Richoman · 22/06/2017 at 17:38

Community, I come seeking wisdom.

Cash generation has been impaired, need to find value to get to full premium. I like the look of Gray at $428k, but I know it comes with significant risk. On points alone it looks like he's back, but I haven't seen him play. From those that have, how does he look? Is it worth the risk?

The other option this week is Lloyd who I like, but he doesn't have the same degree of upside (or risk) as Gray.

9 trades left, will need to bring in a rookie (Ryan for Stewart) to make either work.

Please enlighten me

    Dean · 22/06/2017 at 18:03

I personally wouldn't touch Robbie Gray for anything mate, in respect to what you're saying you don't want to be bringing in just ANY players that you can afford now just for the sake of it, You're better off waiting a week or two longer and generating more cash to bring in a Zorko, Merrett or Neale.

However bringing in Lloyd is a must if your defence isn't full of PREMO's yet, After Lloyd got concussed and scored 4 – I have specifically been licking my lips waiting for this week to bring him in, his average would be 100 if he wasn't concussed.
Only Dochrty, Laird, Adams & Roberton have score averages of triple figures, so if you disregard Lloyd's score of (4) when he was concussed soon after the game started, he becomes the 5th highest scoring defender based on averages which cannot be ignored if your side isn't fully premo in defence.

It's very hard to help you totally without seeing your whole side. Feel free to post your side for more info.

    Good luck mate.

    Tibor · 22/06/2017 at 18:14

Agree with Dean re Gray and especially Lloyd, quite a few good swannie options around at the moment, Lloyd looks like a SuperCoach mainstay for years to come..

Top Gun · 22/06/2017 at 18:31

Scharenberg out! Shittttttt!!!!!!

    Skeletor · 22/06/2017 at 18:48

Scharenberg, Cousins and Perryman. Damn these rookies!

    Top Gun · 22/06/2017 at 18:58

Means my plans of trading in Zorko goes out the window. Sighs…

    Footsy · 22/06/2017 at 19:24

What's that Pieman on about? He gave the impression that Scharanberg was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

      Cogla13 · 23/06/2017 at 08:09

      Slice your own bread dude.

Bottom · 22/06/2017 at 18:34

I have Berry and Mcreadie on the bench for my defence. Is it even worth trying to get Ryan in as Mcreadie will only bank me 50k and Berry has been a solid player with a money to make still. I have 11 trades left and two away from premium.

    Dean · 22/06/2017 at 19:02

Not at all, Ross has already made it difficult as he is on a extended bench.

I though Ryan played quite well so who the hell knows with Ross the Toss…

Westy · 22/06/2017 at 18:34

Ryan and Docherty in – couldn't wait any longer for Doc.
Stewart and Heater out.

    Dean · 22/06/2017 at 18:58

hope you have 10+ trades after those trades.

I wouldn't be trading Heater now he has scored 95 & 99 in his last two games. However if you have plenty of trades then go for it.

      Westy · 22/06/2017 at 19:05

      Dean, good points.
Should I ditch Harbrow instead? I'm trying to be a little different and retaining Newman! I've got no chance of winning anything, I'm running out of trades (8 after this).

        Skinny McThin · 22/06/2017 at 19:16

Reverse the trades and wait until freos full team is named, Ryan may not play

          abs · 23/06/2017 at 00:08

someones trash is another mans treasure ..im bring heater in as i think he will go 95+ for the remainder of the year at $131k cheaper than his starting price its a bargain , he will fill out my last last premo spot

Langy · 22/06/2017 at 18:46

Big Ivan named in extended bench for tiges.

Does this mean Nank is in Doubt??

    Top Gun · 22/06/2017 at 18:59

Most teams have a ruckman named as an emergency. Let's hope that's all Ivan is.

Crippa · 22/06/2017 at 18:57

No sandi?

    Top Gun · 22/06/2017 at 19:17

    Sean Darcy in instead.

Chubby McChubby · 22/06/2017 at 19:13

Was originally trading Barrett to Mountford and Stewart to Lloyd with Sharanberg as my bench cover. So next options would be Sharanberg for Ryan and Stewart for Lloyd. Or double downgrade barrett to mountford and stewart for ryan and get lloyd next week. Can stick with original plan however no bench cover. Thoughts?

    Skinny McThin · 22/06/2017 at 19:15

Ryan not looking very safe at Freo this week fatty. He's named 2nd last on the extended bench which usually means emergency

      Chubby McChubby · 22/06/2017 at 19:23

Thanks Anorexic. πŸ™‚ Might stick with original plan.

Harry H · 22/06/2017 at 19:19

Have just reversed trades. Thanks again Ross Lyin. No Sandi and Ryan named last on an extended bench. Can't trade Ryan in yet until late tomorrow when Sunday teams are final and am in a tricky situation with rucks. Have Sandi and Preuss and whilst I still intend to wait for a Sandi-Gawn trade in a couple of weeks, I may need to go Preuss to Soldo if he plays. Preuss is clearly not going to get a game. Means I hang onto Barrett a week longer

    Moustachio · 23/06/2017 at 10:41

Don't get Soldo, get a dpp and use a fwd rookie to cover (assuming you have Nank or Ryder)

Dean · 22/06/2017 at 19:31

Sandiballs still out, Ross the toss bullshitting once again about Sandiballs having hamstring tightness.

I bet my sandyballs that its his TOE again.

    Northernsoul74 · 22/06/2017 at 20:22

    Just turned him to Goldy.

      Pman · 22/06/2017 at 20:43

Did that same trade 3 weeks ago and haven't looked back as Goldy appears to be back close to his best. Majak Daw's selection could prove interesting as far as Goldy's scoring is concerned as was negatively impacted when Preuss was playing.

Holty · 22/06/2017 at 20:26

Well Greenwood is making my decision easier by the minute with choosing who to play between him and Ainsworth. Got the E on Greenwood

    Pman · 22/06/2017 at 20:46

Have the E on Greenwood too for S Selwood on the ground….really gotta hope Selwood is rested for a mandatory week for his hamstring scare as currently named on extended bench. I really don't want to miss the potential 100 that Greenwood currently looks like scoring!

Top Gun · 22/06/2017 at 21:05

I have Hibberd on with Greenwood emerg and Selwood. Hoping Greenwood has an awesome second half.

    Top Gun · 22/06/2017 at 21:31

I think we broke Greenwood. Hasn't touched it this quarter.

      BomberNoremac · 22/06/2017 at 22:31

      127 last I looked

        Top Gun · 23/06/2017 at 06:49

Yep came good. What a score for a rookie.

          Moustachio · 23/06/2017 at 10:39

          Almost as good as menadue

Mavs17 · 22/06/2017 at 21:08

Greenwood is on fire. Contested Possessions galore, tackles and a goal!

    Tibor · 23/06/2017 at 15:47

That would be a double ton if it was the Bont once you add his run through the banner and pre and after match interview points

Choice · 22/06/2017 at 21:17

To get Greenwood's points I will have to swing Nankervis with Strndica as I've got all fwd's playing (Hannan on field, Parsons & Greenwood on bench) is this a viable option?

    Choice · 22/06/2017 at 21:28

Could trade Hannan to a non-playing mid-fwd swing

    Bells · 22/06/2017 at 21:52

I don't know who to drag to get his score. Buddy or Nank. Both in poor form and facing good opponent this week.

Bells · 22/06/2017 at 21:45

Kick the frigging ball Tich!

Iconic · 22/06/2017 at 22:28

Probably should've done that Parsons > Mountford trade via Greenwood to have Greenwood in my FWD line on field…

josh1010101 · 22/06/2017 at 22:49

Sandi & Berry to Yeo & Ryan (nank in ruck & Greenwood on field until gawn is ready + 158k bank)

Barret & Berry to yeo and ryan.

Josh · 22/06/2017 at 22:58

Dead set on getting in docherty with his be of 76. To fill my last spot do I get rid of Newman or shaw. Doesn't Newman keep it up, or does shaw lift his game I can't work out which of the two is less likely. thoughts?

    Russty_ · 22/06/2017 at 23:20

Get rid of Shaw and keep Newman. Just doooooo it lol.

      abs · 23/06/2017 at 00:11

keep shaw he will come good , plus he is playing his 250th this week

    Moustachio · 23/06/2017 at 10:37

Go history over recent points chasing.

      Russty_ · 25/06/2017 at 00:23

Nah, Shaw is done, couldn't even lift above a lousy 60 points in his 250th game…spud.

cobey · 23/06/2017 at 00:10

Hey community, I need one more midfielder but I'm stuck between Merret, Cotchin and Neale.
I've got Danger, Pendle's, Oliver, Bont, Heppell, Hanners and Beams.
I've got enough in the bank to trade up to any midfielder but who do I bring in.

    Russty_ · 23/06/2017 at 00:14

    Tom Mitchell…next week.

      cobey · 23/06/2017 at 00:25

i need someone this week, because I am trying to trade Barret out because I need a bigger score against my league opponent

    Top Gun · 23/06/2017 at 06:51

    Neale or Zorko

    The BONT · 23/06/2017 at 08:48

Merret has got the easiest fixture from here on

Top Gun · 23/06/2017 at 06:50

Great POD.

jason · 23/06/2017 at 08:14

gonna take greenwoods score last night,

who to bench out of Nankervis (ivan named I think could impact), Higgins, franklin, greene, dahl, macrae

thinking either nank or higgins

    KrazeeEyezK1lla · 23/06/2017 at 09:18

I'd go Nank out of those

    Moustachio · 23/06/2017 at 10:37

Bench Nank and use Strnadica to loop a ruck

josh1010101 · 23/06/2017 at 09:12

Which rookie should i downgrade Barret or Berry?

Mavs17 · 23/06/2017 at 15:11

Do we trade Fyfe out??

Tibor · 23/06/2017 at 15:42

Oh no say it ain't so Nat I'll have to make do with my boy greenwoods effort get well soon Nat
