Get Lloyd and pocket 125k for the next rainy day or bring in Roberton and have 20k in the tank?
Lloyd
The 125k might net you Gawn without making a downgrade & save a trade. Also DPP
Lloyd
Of course lloyd, 100k+ cheaper and 99+ average if you take out the game he was concussed
If you want to be like everyone else, Lloyd. But you suggested Roberton for a reason. Sometimes when you back your instincts in the caper you reap the big rewards. But sometimes you end up with shit figs too.
Hogwash!
They are both guns and for $100K plus less you have to go Lloyd.
He's only that cheap because of his first qtr concussion and 4 SC points.
Yep 9 scores between 92 and 114. Has an 84 and an 89, plus the concussion round. Probably the most consistent player I've ever seen.
Prepare for the next rainy day
Take Lloyd and the cash Finnius, Remember, Roberton can spud it at anytime, due to being in a spudly team…my Team hahah
You beauty!
Hello Neale!! Bye Stewart 🙁
Decisions, decisions …. Have 10 trades. Need 1 premo M,F & D to finalise team, but can prob only get 2 of those with trades left. Want Lloyd. Have enough cash to straight swap Stewart or Barrett leaving 20 – 40K in bank. Was also planning on keeping Scooter as M8 for as long as possible, but with injury cloud could also go Scooter to Ryan, via Berry or Hib Jr., to maximise cash for next upgrade. Also have, and would prefer to ditch, Myers, for Ryan. But doesn't leave quite the same war chest. Can anybody offer some clarity to the swirling confusion in front of me?
Lloyd is just too good to pass up at that price. Consistent as buggery.
Big call to make on Scooter. Forget his price gen now, you want reliable scorers on the bench as finals approach. Myers is not that
Too true. Thanks for the input SC_Kev7.
selwood>neale or next week selwood>sloane? who do we think will come home stronger?
Neale for me, esp with Sandi coming back. Selwood now listed as a test for this week.
Stewart to a 102k rookie???
Also, is it worth trading Nank, Fyfe or Sandi as well?
9 trades and no cash before trades
Thoughts???
i assume you already have luke ryan?
Yes already have Ryan
What's your reasoning behind trading Stewart to a non player?
Hold off for now. Gawn in a few weeks would be a good get for Nank or Sandi.
Was just doing it gain maximum cash for upgrades as I will need to upgrade Sandi Hannan and S.Selwood at least
You've waited this long for Sandi, if not named this week he's got big problems. Nank second, don't trade Fyfe.
If you're not trading for a player then hold him unless you think he's gonna bleed cash
DEF: roberton, laird, Adam's, hardbrow, hibberd, doch – sberg, berry
MID: ablett, fyfe, trelor, neale, danger, martin, bont, PP – fisher, Myers, cousins.
FWD: jjk, roo, dahl, roughy, WHE, Greene, – gwood, parsons
RUCK: martin, sandi – preuss
Wew first time posting my average team. So my question is, who to trade out for ryan? Fisher myers or berry?
Berry is best money wise but also the best backup in case of injuries as has the best JS and is pretty consistant.
Would love some input.
How many trades left? You have bench players playing. And lots of them. Cash out the highest value. Berry to Ryan & WHE to Yeo without seeing your cash & trades
Ah sorry pie.
10 trades left as i already did barrett to neale.
L
I'd consider Parsons to Josh Deluca-Cardillo (Freo) 102k Mid/Fwd so you can loop Greenwood & WHE & generate some money for next week. But Berry to Ryan also looks good & gives more cash. Really tough call. At least you have some trades & cash on the pine
Awesome call Pieman on JDC. If you have less than 10 trades then cash gen starts to become less relevant making non-playing DPP rookies a vital way of covering outs (injuries/suspensions) and creates valuable loophole options for our playing bench players who may go large
JDC may also sneak his way into the team & be handy later. I look at Alex Witherden in the same vein. Lions & Freo generally play late so the loop option is handy regardless
yeah my strategy is sorta revolving around having a rookie with great JS in fwd/mid/def as a good late season injury backup.
So will wait on selection as per usual 🙂
Neale Over Merrett?
Neale just for me. Has a higher ceiling
Can't lose either way really.
Merrett for consistency and also a solid 130-140 every now and then. Neale if you like rollercoasters
Do you need Ryan? No point bringing in rookies unless its for cash generation now.
Berry to Junker maybe?
"Pyanamese Shit Figs" Gold!
I have 10 trades left and 148K in the bank.
Thinking of holding trades for a couple of weeks to generate money.
DEF: Doch Laird Simpson Rance Shaw Hibberd (Berry Ryan)
MID: Danger Z.Merrett Pendles Oliver Bont Adams Fyfe SPP (Pickett Cousins Freeman)
RUCK: Martin Nank (Strnadica)
FWD: Yeo Macrae Dahl Buddy Lynch(GCS) Greenwood(ADELAIDE) (Bolton Eddy)
Thoughts would be greatly appreciated .
An idea here but take it or leave it as it's a bit of a luxury trade:
SPP & Berry out, Lloyd & Mountford in, leaves you $254K cash + fwd/def swing. Getting Lloyd now is a must IMHO, even if you're full def premo.
Agree on moving SPP and Berry B-SC. Scharenberg plus JPK perhaps?
Josh Kelly or Lachie Neale?
Kelly is injured mate
Ahh, ok thanks Wayo
Kelly had sore ribs and may not play. Had him from the start what a gem
Team is just about full KEEPER with 11 trades left and 57k in the bank
Not sure exactly what to do. Wish i didnt keep Sandi and traded him to Kreuzer
DEF: Doch, Laird, Simo, Howe, Newman Stewart (Scharenberg, Ryan)
MID: Danger, Jelwood, Pendles, Murph, Bont, Yeo, Adams, Rockcliff (Fisher, Myers, Cousins)
RUC: Sandi, Nank (Strnadica)
FWD: Macrae, Dahl, Franklin, Greene, Kennedy, Greenwood (Butler, Stewart)
Will trade out a FWD rookie like Greenwood and a defender rookie like Stewart and then sub both Adams to defence and Yeo to the FWD line to get two more premo mids (this will happen over time)
I'd hold for the moment, not much you can do until your rookies fatten up more. Unless you want to trade Newman, swing Adams, but then who do you bring in @ $485K? Maybe Lloyd?
Yep you had enough trades to move on Sandi as soon as alarm bells rung. Oh well. Maybe Gawn later?
Isn't Butler totally cooked? Trade him for the collingwood kid callum brown?
Scooter listed for a test. Should only be out 1-2 hopefully
Let's hope so otherwise it's chop chop chop….
Trained well today could potentionally play this week… doubt it though
If i have any trades left in the grand final (if I make it) would it be a good idea to go Lynch to Gray? Port vs Suns and Gray could go crazy while Lynch goes missing.
Yep but who knows with this crazy season, Lynch could kick 10!
Or gary could get tagged and Lynch takes contested marks out side the 50 all day like Reiwoldt and bags 4-5.
Stewart to Ryan, Scooter to Neale.
Team will then be;
Def – Laird, Adams, Hibberd, Shaw, Newman, Harbrow (Ryan, McInnes)
Mid – Danger, Neale, JPK, Murphy, Wines, Oliver, TMitch, Fyfe (Cousins, D.Lloyd, C.Brown)
Ruck – Witts, Nank
Fwd – Dahl, Macrae, Heeney, Greene, Buddy, Yeo (Greenwood, Parsons)
Leaves 8 trades and 180k in the bank.
Nank to Gawn in a week or two, and an upgrade of 1 defender if possible, leaving 5/6 trades heading into finals.
Thoughts community?
I'd hold Scooter but I have cover with Jake Lloyd. He'll only miss 1-2 and still a chance to be M8 for the remainder of the season. I'd look at upgrading Witts or Nank to Kreuzer first.
Neale or jelwood?
Jelwood every day of the week for mine
Mountford or Callum Brown?
I went Callum Brown
Neither if you can avoid it, JS not great with either I wouldn't have thought…
Cal Brown, should get a few games for the next month.
Heres my team, 10 trades left, $251k in the bank
DEF: Doch, Laird, Adams, Shaw, Hibberd, STewart (Berry & Scharenberg)
MID: Danger, Titch, Pendles, Bont, J.Kennedy, Fyfe, Treloar, S.Selwood (Myers, Cousins, Fischer)
RUCK: Martin, Nank (Cameron)
FWD: Yeo, Macrae, Dahlhaus, Franklin, Heeney, Greenwood (Bolton, Eddy)
Was thinking this week of upgrading Stewart to Lloyd & downgrading Berry to Ryan.
That'd leave me with 8 trades and $341k for any emergency trades needed… thoughts??
Prob best you can do atm, still 2 premos short if you discount Scooter as a premo.
Mind you that's a lot of cash in the bank this time of year…
Depending how far away Scooter is, next week he can turn into Neale or any other premo. was saving trades for a few weeks before spending the $$$
What if you hang on to Stewart at D8. Trade Berry to Lloyd. Trade a mid rookie to Ryan via swing. This will allow you to play lloyd in M8 till scooter plays. Otherwise u will have to play a crap rookie at M8. At least Stewart is scoring well, shouldn't cost you to many points.
That's exactly what I'm considering for the same reason ColdCase outlined – in my case it's Barret who will make way for Ryan ….
Managed 5363 over the byes so just short of 1800 average. My ranking though jumped from a p1$$ poor 33209 to a more respectable (but still poor) 21282.
Going for something a bit different this week – really want Lloyd but have full def premo. So will get him in as M8 to cover Scooter while he's out.
Trades this week:
OUT Barrett IN Ryan
OUT Myers IN Lloyd
Leaves 8 trades $131K and the following team:
DEF: Doch, Adams, Simmo, Howe, Rance, Heater (Stewart, Ryan)
MID: Danger, Jelwood, Pendles, JPK, Fyfe, Treloar, Parker, Lloyd (Berry, Fisher, Scooter)
RUC: Witts, Nank (Strnadica)
FWD: Macrae, Dahl, Buddy, Heeney, Hannan, Bolton (Parsons, Greenwood)
From here I hold and wait for Gawn and then go Hannan OUT, Nank fwd, Gawn IN. May be short of $$$ though, so if that's the case Scooter may have to go at that point. Will leave me 1 keeper short in fwd line which I'll have to live with to save trades.
Thoughts?
Your forwards are very very weak… I wouldn't even bother with Lloyd…
I'd be looking to upgrade Hannan > Yeo
Stewart > Ryan
in 1/2 weeks time you go Nank > Gawn
You can afford to play Berry in the middle this week, unless you plan to keep Lloyd at M8 permanently which I think is a bit of a waste as he really should be in Defence.
If you want to finalise your mids you will have to trade Scooter > Mid imo…
Neale or Merret ?
Zerrett for mine
Close depends on sandi
Looking fairly vanilla this week, the 2 Brrrissy boys, Barry and Berry, to the coupla first name/last name Ryan and Lloyd lads. BORING.
A few frothies & I'm sure you'll get more adventurous Hedski
Frothies every day Pie, adventures are for the nek fortnight.
It's boring o'clock Hedski. Running low on trades, cash and excitement.
Wayne-O
Where are you mate?
Plz no
Hi community, have 9 trades and 136k in the bank, so looking to finish off my team.
Laird, Adams, Rance, Hibberd, Lloyd, Stewart (Ryan, Scharenberg)
Danger, Titch, Merret, Pendles, JPK, Hanners, Treloar, Barret (Berry, Bolton, Greenwood)
Kreuzer, Witts (Strn)
Yeo, Macrae, Dahl, Spuddy, Nank, Heeney (Parsons, Eddy)
Any suggestions are welcome
Put the E on Greenwood Thursday night & then reassess
That would mean moving Greenwood to the forwards since I have no loophole in the midfield right?
Nope. Trade Barrett or Berry to a floating mid/def donut for loophole like oscar junker. Then upgrade perhaps Stewart to maybe Doch if that gives you enough cash. Assuming greenwood posts a decent score
Yeah this was my original plan, however I have pondered on whether it might be better to get Robertson as it allows me to trade off Parsons instead of Greenwood( for my last mid upgrade) so I can keep him as cover. Getting Doch in is probably the safer move though so I will likely just go with it
Hi guys,
First time positing. I figured I'd like some input from the experts on now my team is travelling at this stage in the competition.
Def: Docherty, Laird, Rance, Shaw, McDonald, Lloyd (Ryan, Scharenberg)
Mid: Dangerfield, Mitchell, Sloane, Treleor, Rockliff, Crouch, Bont, Fyfe (Fisher, Cousins, Perryman)
Ruck: Grundy, Kreuzer (Cameron)
For: Macrae, Franklin, Dalhous, Nankervis, Lynch, Greenwood (Bolton, Parsons)
I traded in Ryan and Lloyd this week. Next week I'll upgrade in the forward line and I think I'm set? I have 8 trades left and $102 in the warchest. Any feedback would be great!
Adams from collingwood
Where would I put him? Or I can reverse trades and bring in Adams instead of Lloyd?
Yes, you can reverse trades up until lockout, but wait on Adams. His price will fall over the next 2 weeks. Lloyd is a common sense get this week
McDonald and Shaw reliable enough to call premium? In 2017?
Shaw yeah if williams keeps playing up the ground, McDonald heck no.
Choice between Cloke and Lin Jong
Lin Jong, definitely this week, cause I'm playing you in one of my Leagues this week…lol, but, I know you're joking…so why even post it?
Too many great options my head is spinning.
So , is He-man really as gay as he appears to be?…in the cartoons…not that there's anything wrong with that 🙂
Fantastic work Skeletor!!! Vert close to full premium.. you might also look to move The Nank on after you've finished that FWD line
He-Man a homosexual? No way. We're talking about the most powerful man in the universe!
Wow a post from the man himself! Thanks Jock!!
You were so flustered you even mispelled your own name lol
Hey all heres the team I'm going into the second half of the season with.
Doc, Adams, Laird, Lloyd, Tuohy, Newman (Scharenberg, Ryan)
Danger, Pendles, Bont, Treloar, Jelwood, Hanners, Dusty, Scooter (Brown, Cousins, Hibberd)
Grundy, Nank (Strnadica)
Macrae. Dahl , Heeney, Buddy, Tom Lynch (GC) Greenwood (Bolton, Beech)
Have 10 trades left & 87k after going
T.Stewart>Lloyd
Parsons>Beech
How should I look at things going down the track?
Thanks.
Watch out on Beech for job security, could possibly swing Brown into the forward line and bring in mountford
Scooter at M9, mids and defence at "full" premo. Need to get 2 fwds to make finish team. Yeo, Macrae and Goldy/Gawn are my targets; but not enough cash to get there now. Lloyd tempting but are there any logical trades this week?
D: Doc, Laird, Simpson, Hibberd, Rance, Shaw (Scharenberg, Ryan);
M: Danger, Sloane, Pendles, Treloar, Hanners, JPK, M.Crouch, Fyfe (S.Selwood, Cousins, Pickett);
R: Martin, Nank (Strnadica);
F: Heeney, Buddy, Dahl, T.Lynch, Greenwood, Bolton (Parsons, Eddy).
9 trades & $10k. Any suggestions?
You could get rid of Selwood for the money and then try swing nank fwd to get another ruck.
Yes Mavs, that did cross my mind. Would need 2 trades to make it happen. Gawn some weeks away and a definite prospect, but to trade now only delivers he likes of Vardy as a single trade.
Selwood to Mountford
Parsons to Ryder
Thanks Derek. Yes that was on my radar, though Mountfords JS is a concern. Is Brown a better option or wait another week on him?
Titch, Adams, Lloyd or another midfielder or defender ?
Adams is a must have defender this year. But given his BE is 143, he could probably wait a week. I'd grab Lloyd – value for money.
Great podcast as always lads. Jake Lloyd and Luke Ryan in this week for Otten and Vickers-Willis. Leaves me with two rookies on field (Stewart and Greenwood) with 178K in the bank. A Powell-Pepper downgrade to Callum Brown (once on the bubble) should provide the required additional funds to grab Docherty in the coming weeks.
I want to throw a challenge out to the community just to make sure you consider all strategic options going forward. So your challenge is to answer this question:
(If you have less than 10 trades left) trade in L. Ryan or A. Witherden? Why?
That depends. If you want a player to loop this week Ryan. If you need someone to loop that may come in handy later witherden. And if your looking for a pure scoring option then Ryan has the game
I've heard of Ryan!
There is no real right or wrong answer. And everything is dependent on your team structures, cash, trades etc.
But I really wish this community would get more involved in discussing deeper strategies rather than just posting teams and saying they are getting Lloyd in this week.
For example, Ryan is a great bench option. But if you already have a Newman or Stewart and are getting Lloyd then Witherden is a really strategic trade that could net you lots of bonus points. He is DPP, so he can allow you to loophole say a Stewart at D7 who may have a blinder. Or as captain loophole. And DPP means he can also allow you to throw your structure around to help cover injuries.
Further, Witherden plays for Brissy who have lots of late round matches, allowing you to maximise loophole options.
Also, if you have say 9 trades left and only 1 or two from full premium, you no longer really need cash generation. And if you do, Ryan won't "fatten" until round 20-22! By then do you really think you'll be trading him out to paint the fence? Unlikely you'll have the trades.
Anyway, just wanting people to consider these choices we now have in the run home. Don't fall into the trap for thinking a rookie on the bubble is your best/only option
Just adding an extra opinion to what you've presented Nath, depending on how much cash you need, getting 100-150k from Ryan may be all that you require meaning that it may only take 3-4 weeks to get that cash grab. That cash may allow you to nail those last few trades around before finals meaning it could be a very viable option.
Also you have my complete support regarding your opinion on the generic questions asked on this page every week.
Your thinking is sound Nath. I've kept Hibberd (NM) all year for that same reason (albeit less late games means not quite as useful some weeks).
Also why I'm currently holding Steele with my initial intent of him becoming my F7/M9 still the target.
My current problem is that Hibberd (NM) and Strnadica (Fre) are my only non-playing bench players, so my loophole options are limited – I guess it's better than the opposite, having no playing bench players, and at least means there's steady fattening up of the slaughter options.
gotta have the DPP's
Surely you'd got for a Saints player if you're playing that strategy?
They have three Sunday games over finals.
i'm kicking myself for starting with cameron at r3. Swans have 9 of there last 6 games on a Friday/Thursday
I did the same Derek. I was confident he'd get a game, make me some cash and that I'd then trade him down to Sterndick.
Another fail unfortunately. Prob have to just keep him now.
Definitely weird when you had Preuss named R1…
that was when Gawn got injured. Started with Gawn and Sandi
when gawn was injured i traded Preuss in for gawn. He played 1 game. Cameron sat on the forward bench while Nank covered in the rucks and Preuss at R3.
Rucks were a nightmare this year
Will the return of harred mcviegh impact on jake lloyds scoring output
Unlikely. Lloyd scored 106 and 101 in the two games McVeigh has played this year. Newman on the other hand I wouldn't be as confident in.
McVeigh is getting old and with the emergence of Newman and Lloyd I wouldn't be surprised if they played McVeigh off a forward flank for a bit to give those two the best chance to continue improving. Would be shocked if McVeigh played on after this year.
I havent got Docherty in my team and I feel like I've missed the bought for now.
Is it worth two trades to bring him in compared to 1 trade to bring in Jakey Lloyd?
Only if you have >12 trades, or if high up in the rankings …. Lloyd too much value this week to miss
Do you guys recon the Joel Selwood tag will be a reoccurring thing from now on?
Most teams have opted not to tag him, but stopping one of Danger/Selwood has proved effective against the Cats. I wouldn't be too concerned about it.
Don't think so Andy as Geelong have Danger, Selwood, Duncan…even Guthrie lately posting good numbers, I think if teams were gonna tag Geelong regularly, the tag would shift to different players.
I reckon he is the best one to tag cos he's quick and can tear you apart if you let him. Duncan big strong harder to nullify and Guthrie can run around and have a bit of an impact anywhere.
He's the most threatening and probably the one other teams can influence the most. Expect the tag.
It's been a thing for years Andy and he still averages 110 most years.
He just throws in the odd spud score too.
Do I trade Zac Jones to Lloyd or save the trade. Have Stewart as cover?
I would do it if you have sufficient trades left – most people would have seen Jones as a mid-price stepping stone rather than a keeper, so it matches the original purpose of him ….
Correction to podcast's Peter: Geelong v Freo is at Geelong.
Just spotted the article below on HS website – Cats club physio saying Scooter is running at training already, not yet ruled out for this weekend and is essentially listed as a "test". Sitting out the last quarter on the weekend was mostly precautionary.
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/more-news/a…
I expect the Cats will stay play it safe and not play him this week, but it does sound like he's a realistic chance to only miss one. For the majority of supercoachers, unless at the pointy end of rank standings, may be worth holding for a week and re-assessing?
Yeah I'll be holding for sure…I think they only took him out of the game cause he felt slightly twingy, so might only be a bit of tightness and some Physio electro magnetic stimulation could work wonders, I'm holding regardless…he still has 100k to make.
Hey guys, I brought K.Stevens in awhile back cause I thought he might be a good pod…(wrong!)…only got 10 trades left and 47K in the bank, my query is, would you hold on Spudly Stevens for one more week hoping he improves or maybe go to Adelaide's Lynch instead before Stevens bleeds much more cash which he will.
You're just going from one problem to another.
If you have to trade I'd go to GC Tom Lynch, Jeremy Cameron or even Paddy Ryder before Adelaide Tom Lynch.
Of course this all assumes that you have Dahlhaus already.
Yeah I have Dahlhaus, but I consider those four about the same as far as scoring potential goes, and they're all inconsistent…so it's a bit of a dilemma, I should probably hold I guess and see if he can do better.
Depends on whether you're only 1-2 off full premo Russty – if you are I would do it for sure if going for rank (and keep your fingers crossed that Lynch's sub-50 scores are behind him for the year).
The one reservation I've had from the start with any GC player is they're scheduled to play Port at AO in R23 which may not bode well for GC player scoring potential, which for League GF players could be a decisive factor – it's why I've shied away from GC players all year!
Ah, sorry Russty, I was thinking you were talking about GC's Lynch, not Adelaide's – may need new reading glasses ….
Hahah no worries Dutch…what do you think of Adelaide's Lynch? averaging 99 last 3 rounds
I was having a look through Lynch's stats and his scores have no real correlation with how the crows play and what ground they play at, which makes it really hard to judge how he could perform the second half of the year.
However, despite my suggestions above about the other options, I'm a sucker for a good POD so if your gut is telling you Lynch then jump on for a ride and hope for the best
As DZ said in his two replies, good POD, but I would be looking at some of the alternatives that DZ mentioned above first ….
Cheers guys, not so much concerned about getting a pod as getting someone who can deliver good scores…just worried if I dump Steven's lately low scoring ass…and then he starts dropping tonnes again aaah lol Maybe I should just go Ryder?….wish he was more consistent though.
He's not the worst player you could take a chance on, having a really good year. he is 35K less than his starting price so flew under the radar a bit last season too.
Yeah kind of agree Smokin…I'm thinking Stevens was just some old fool's gold now, freakin spud..but sometimes a fwd who can make ya between 85 and 95 can make the difference…cheers.
Stevens was a good pick, then they went and gave him the tagging duties didn't they?
Yeah for one of the past 2 weeks, don't think he was a tagger last week, just a potato, cheers though…I reckon I'll go with Lynch, I believe he'll deliver more than Stevens. 🙂
I like Lynch because he's not that key position forward, he works hard finds space and has good ball use.
Cheers man, yeah I agree, he's reasonably solid-ish, and is affordable for what I can afford.
Get all your other trades sorted first Russty, than if you've got enough left you can decide if it's worth moving him on.
Have 9 trades and $4.9k left
Def: Doch, Adams, Laird, Simpson, Hibberd, Tuohy (Stewart, Ryan)
Mid: Danger, Mitchell, Pendles, Selwood, JPK, Bont, Fyfe, S.Selwood (Bolton, Cousins, Hibberd)
Ruc: Mummy, Sandi (Strnadica)
Fwd: Heeney, Macrae, Dahl, Nank, Lynch, Hannan (Greenwood, Eddy)
Thoughts on what to do this week???
I'd hold this week Tommo, just swap Greenwood with Bolton so he can cover S.Selwood, who might miss this week.
Can't trade every week, sometimes you've just gotta let the dice roll.
13 trades left $85k in the bank. Was going to downgrade berry to Ryan leaving me with $262k. The problem now is I don't know who to upgrade! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
DEF: Doch, Adams, Laird, Simpson, Shaw, Newman EMG Stewart, Berry
MID: Danger, J.Selwood, Zorko, Treloar, JPK, Bont, Fyfe, Barrett EMG Bolton, Lloyd, Cousins
RUCK: Grundy, Nank EMG English
FWD: Macrae, Heeney, Dahlhaus, Franklin, Stewart, Greenwood EMG Parsons, Strnadica
Trade out either Berry or Stewart, then upgrade Barrett to maybe a Tom Mitchell.
Only want to do one of the options below as my first trade is scooter too neale.. after JS more so than huge cash
1.Berry>ryan
Or
2.Barrett> mountford
Or
3.barrett>c.brown
JS tough to judge with rookies given that one bad game could be the end of them. If you don't care about Berry's dpp swing I'd go for Ryan
1 and 2 have better JS then 3 2 is being used as a tagger so trade 1 for mine.
Agreed. Plus it means keeping Barrett over Berry. ALTHOUGH that DP status could come in handy.
scooter a chance to play
so who to trade out for Ryan? Hibberd (north) or go on a Barrett, or Stewart early? Or move s selwood?
Not much point trading Hibberd this late in the season, personally I'd trade Barrett given his breakeven is at 55
Yeah that was my thinking, like hibberds dpp, largely why he has hung around
I went Barrett, tossed Hibberd into the guts, he will get games once North are out of contention, that's when Scotty will play his fringe players/kids and its a bonus if you have Adams. You never know the dpp might come in handy.
im thinkin sunday is gonna be make or break for most teams
Why's that Harry?
I have my best players playing sunday, bar Lynch who could go either way.
Yeah, most will have the 'C' on Danger unless a chosen 'VC' gets over 140.
Everyone will be counting on Danger to have another ripper game.
Zerrett completes the Mids, Backs are set Gawn on the radar, but might need a FWD to replace the fatigued Nank…
Great show as always Gents!!!
The Byes are bloody gone indeed Jock!…and that's the most important thing for this week, they're bloody gone yo! 🙂 Whatever happens from here on in…is just gravy, compared to the last 3 weeks of hell!…HelI I tells yas!!!
Absolutely Rusty!! Throw out the garlands and rose petals mate!! We're free!
Should i hold jack steven or hold and wait for him to hit some form??
Last forward spot..
I have Macrae, Doll, Lynch, Kennedy, Franklin..
Yeo or Heeney? (Just can't bring myself to accepting that yeo is the real deal after so much rubbish over the years)
Or wait until Gawn drops and move Nank forward.
i would have a think about Ryder
Was close to bringing in Ryder in round 10. Pretty glad I didn't as he went 69, 81 & 81 the next 3 rounds. Only been over 100 3x this year.
i brought him in a while ago so i've been watching him closely. he was playing alot better than his SC scores suggested. Not sure why that was the case, but i was confident that he would eventually be rewarded and the SC scores will come. last week he scored well and i think we will see more good scores from here on.
look at ports draw, especially the last 5 games of the season.
Saints – HOME
Adelaide – HOME
Collingwood – HOME
Dogs – AWAY
Suns – HOME
4 of their last 5 at home and only one of those teams currently in the top 8. Adelaide is the showdown and form doesn't matter!
I'm seriously considering Wingard as my last forward.
looking at this, Wingard definitely has me interested!
yeo
Will be upgrading either Newman or Shaw to a Premo Mid next week via DPP.
Who should I have my eye on this round to bring in next week? At the moment i'm thinking Titch.
My best 22 are as below:
DEF: Doc Laird Lloyd Shaw Newman Hibberd (Melb)
MID: Danger Dusty Rocky Neale Treloar Kelly Bont Adams
RUCK: Mumford Goldstein
FWD: Heeney Yeo Dahl Mcrae Nank Greene
At this point it's the best you can afford, PT.
I can afford to bring in any mid, just thinking which players will finish in the top 8 other than mids I already have.
Titch,, Pendles, Zerret and Zorko are options i'm thinking of at the moment but don't have a lot of confidence in which one to go with.
Simpson, hibberd, or roberton
Leaning towArds Simpson as I feel teams will start to tag docherty which will free Simpson up
Thoughts?
Doch has a 5 round average of 130 and has scored the second most points in the comp behind Danger. You'd think clubs would throw some pressure his way by now.
Go Roberton. I like Hibberd but he's in some doubt this week
You'd think that!
Simpson for me. I think Simpson is the reason Doch doesn't get tagged. They play similar roles. What i have noticed in their games of late is neither will play that lose man behind the play for longer then 10min. They both rotate so difficult for a tagger to know what to do. So putting a tagger on doch will just mean he will play 1on1 against his opponent which allows Simpson free which seems to defeat the purpose of a tagger. Imo
I have Hanners, JPK, Franklin, Heeney & Newman. Is getting Lloyd just too much?
My general rule is no more than two players from the same club on each line. In saying that, I've never had six players from the same club in my team. Chances are they won't all score over 100 in the same week.
You wouldn't want the Swans bus to crash
No. I have six woods and barrack for Bombers
I am seriously considering going VERY early on Sharenberg to enable a swap for Selwood to Lloyd and Ryan. Looking then to move Lloyd back to defense when defense later for Stewart or Ryan. I am effectively jumping from Sharenberg to Ryan to enable me to get Lloys at the bargain price. Is this too wasteful in trades?
waste
Thanks Danno, I think so too. I may just have to miss out on Ryan and look at Mountford or similar.
might not be a bad idea now… wait for sunday teams
Congratulations Malcolm Blight for being inducted in the hall of fame.Legend Status. What a true champion of the game. His list of achievements is unparalleled.
That 75 metre Torpedo he kicked from the centre to win that game should be reason alone 🙂
Barrett > Robbie Grey (433k), Wines (490k), Shuey (449k)?
Robbie Gray if M9/loophole, Wines or Shuey if on field, would personally go Shuey
look at ports draw, especially the last 5 games of the season.
Saints – HOME
Adelaide – HOME
Collingwood – HOME
Dogs – AWAY
Suns – HOME
4 of their last 5 at home and only one of those teams currently in the top 8. Adelaide is the showdown and form doesn't matter!
In: Neale and Ryan
Out: Scooter and Hannan
Someone mentioned earlier in these posts to give reasons as to why we do these trades which i think is a good idea oppose to just simply posting what i said above. So here is my reasoning…………………….
Only joking. Ryan in simply for cash generation and seems a handy player.
Neale in because he is the 5th best averaging mid and he has achieved this without Sandi for the last month.
People have been talking up Zorko and Merrett which are both very solid choices but just feel they are at their scoring peak. I feel Neale could extract a few more points now Sandi is back
Thinking of going Zak Jones to Zerrett by swinging Adams back to DEF, and bringing Junker in for SSelwood to open up the mid/def swing.
this will leave me with 8 trades, 261k in the bank and only really needing to upgrade Parsons and Greenwood. I'll have SPP as bench cover. thinking Newman stays in as my D6.
I'd like to wait for Gawn to go down to a little under 500k, and swing Nank up FWD, effectively turning Parsons into Gawn.
will end up full premo with maybe 4 or 5 trades left. then the fun begins
It looks like there will be more sleepless nights in the Bunny hole. I'm seriously thinking of getting LLoyd instead of Docherty this week.
LLoyd is just too much value to ignore.
The cash saved will let me get Wingard or Lynch this week (both have great run of games to finish). If i get Docherty i would need to get another rookie.
I will then only have ONE premium to get and that is R1 reserved Mr Gawn. He will be ready in a couple of weeks and JStewart & Parsons should be fattened up by then.
After trades this week, my team will look like:
Laird, Shaw, Adams, Rance, Simpson, LLoyd (Berry, Scharenberg)
Dangerfield, JSelwood, Pendlebury, TMitch, Hanneberry, JPK, Ablett, Fyfe (Bolton, Pickett, Cousins)
Martin, Ryder (cameron)
Macrae, Dahlhaus, Franklin, Nank, Wingard, Greenwood (Parsons, JStewart)
7 trades & $28k
Plan is to get Gawn at R1 and swing Ryder into F6 in a couple of weeks.
The masterplan is to have a decent bench player to swing across a number of lines. This will depend on how much cash i have after the Gawn trade.
Options:
Berry >> Docherty. Might be a stretch. Lloyd at D7/M9. Greenwood will need to be sold to get cash.
or
Greenwood >> Wallis F7/M9. keep Berry at D7
As much as it will grieve not to have Docherty, I think the right option is Greenwood to Wallis. Nank as R3, F7, M9 is probably the right answer.
We should get a discount if the group of us who don't have Doc book a therapy session
Think I'm just gonna give up on getting the DocI
Planned to get him this week but trading out Berry and Stewart still doesn't get me enough cash so i'm now weighing up whether to get Llyod as my D6 and bank 150K to put towards my M8 spot next week or trade in an M8 now and have to take Ryan or Scharenbergs score until they fatten up enough to get me a D6…
i'm kicking myself for having Cameron as R3. swans have nearly all friday games to finish, with Nank & Ryder i was looking to do a bit of fancy ruck swinging. spewin'
I went Cameron over Strndica purely because I thought he'd play!! That would've allowed me for a quick cash dump later on in the season as I'm playing for leagues. The worst part is I was 5k short of Yeo last week so I went with Tommy Lynch instead.
Stuffs my VC loophole as well, only Pickett as other non playing rookie
I picked Cameron as well. I really thought he was as good as Parfitt, Pickett and all those spuds. I chose Deluca Cardillo as my floating donut. It was my "genius" move of the pre-season. It meant I could multiple loop forward and mid-rookies. No more big rookie scores left on the bench. Was a great theory. But all I was looping was 20's and 40's week after week.
I have brought in Junker as a loop this week. Also the dollars saved means I am likely to only need one trade to go Barrett to Bont next week.
ill get junker next week instead of getting Brown. Need him in guts to give Lloyd and Adams a swing set
I could still get Docherty. Hoping Parsons and JStewart + $28k will get me Gawn and Junker in 2 weeks.
After that I'll have Berry scharenberg and/or Greenwood to get me Docherty and a rookie.
Pretty sure the day team picker comes out next year Derek I know who your first selection will be. Just another 6 months of no sleep to go
I seriously can't watch Carlton play anymore.
Hi Guys
First timer here. Would love some comments on how my team is positioned. I'm in numerous cash leagues near the top.
I have 13 trades pre-rd14 and 50k.
Def: Doch, Adams, Roberton, Newman, Shaw, Hibberd (Stewart, Ryan)
Mid: Danger, Ablett, Treloar, Pendles, Murphy, Hep, Steven, Scooter (Fisher, Brodie, Cousins)
Ruck: Martin, Ryder
For: Bud, Heeney, Dal, McRae, Greene, Greenwood (Black, Eddy)
I'm thinking of upgrading Scooter to Neale this week.
Keeping some trades in the chest for potentially bringing in Gawn/Sloane/Martin down the track.
Thoughts?
Neale will be a great pick up. Gawn or Martin will be nice down the track but I would be giving Sloane a miss.
Struggles with a tag and most coaches are well aware of that.
it is great you have so many trades left, but your worry is the cash generation. i would hold SSelwood as he has cash to make. get rid of the spuds who are not playing and build your warchest
I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on Robbie Grey. It's a massive punt, but the risk vs reward vs value vs balls to the wall wild SC ride is mighty tempting. I'd pocket $140k in going him over Zerrett. I just feel that money could be super valuable in the long run if, and it's a massive if, Grey can average 110 from here on out.
Hope it works out for ya Rick! Ballsy
I'm running out of trades, I'll need luck!! But there's not that many times in SC when you find an absolute gun sitting in the reduced to clear bin. Plus I'm a filthy gambler so it appeals to my nature.
I wouldnt do it but its those moves that seperates you great pod ..Rick
I named Gray in my top 10 mids at the start of the season
Are they playing him in the guts, or is he still spending a lot of the time in the forward line?
Majority as a forward
JJK is down for at least another fortnight.
What do do with him? Hold or trade?
I have Yeo, Heeney, Dahl and McCrae as my other premo's. I could swing Nank forward and bring in Goldy or another premo forward, but no premo forwards are really sticking out.
Depends on your cover Wattie. If it's a Parsons type I'd move him on. If it's Greenwood perhaps hold him. Greene or Wallis perhaps
I've only got Greenwood, Stewart (Ess) and Bolton up forward. I'd have to play either Stewart or Bolton, which I'm not keen on. I'm leaving towards Greene. I've got Fyfe and am weary of bringing in another player who's come back from a long term leg injury.
Greene is a flog. But a damn good footy player & seems to be a good SC option. Can score big & fast
Where are you hearing that? West Coast haven't ruled him out for this week yet: http://m.westcoasteagles.com.au/news/2017-06-20/c…
I stand corrected, just saw the new injury update. I'm holding him personally.
Actually this is a new injury being a slight tear in the Achilles. I'd move him on
Move him on. Ryder is an option. Gives you a swing with Nanky which might be handy. Has a big ceiling and Port have that nice run home. Heck, why aren't I doing this….?
Ryder is da man
