Steeeve · 09/05/2017 at 16:30

I'm already looking at non playing defence rookies. That's where the cash cows have been. Any players on your radars who might get a game later in the year?

    OldOcker · 09/05/2017 at 16:37

    Luke Ryan

    lok · 09/05/2017 at 16:43

    benny ronke

    iLoveNMFC · 09/05/2017 at 17:18

    Ryan of the Luke variety.

    TheScacman · 09/05/2017 at 17:30

Scharenberg from the pies got 30 touches in the backline, would be looking to bring him in once he gets into the 1s

    KICKITDOWNTHEGUTS · 09/05/2017 at 17:33

Shai Bolton from the Tigers is hitting some form now.

      Kev · 09/05/2017 at 19:31

Kicked 7 in 4 games in my career mode on AFL Evolution. Get him in Dimma!

      Dildor · 10/05/2017 at 13:13

Watched him play in the 2's on the weekend. Looked very dangerous every time he touched the ball, runs hard and tackles, expect to see him in the 1's sooner rather than later.

      mzd · 12/05/2017 at 14:43

Did you go school ? He said non – playing defenders

    RobDog · 09/05/2017 at 23:27

Willie Riolli is not far off fit.

    David C · 11/05/2017 at 16:27

Mark O’Connor has been named for Geelong

      Cogla13 · 11/05/2017 at 17:13

That probably means Stewart won't be back anytime soon.

        TheGerman · 12/05/2017 at 07:36

        Stewart named as well!

Xan · 09/05/2017 at 16:48

Do I get buddy or heeney

    KICKITDOWNTHEGUTS · 09/05/2017 at 17:18

Cheapest we'll see Buddy for a while, Heeney not yet proven.

    SirSamuel016 · 09/05/2017 at 17:25

Definitely Buddy. He's the cheapest we'll see him for a while and he should finish a top 6 forward.

    DefyingMadness · 09/05/2017 at 17:36

    pod · 09/05/2017 at 17:38

    Buddy first, higher ceiling

iLoveNMFC · 09/05/2017 at 17:18

Is Heeney a top 6 forward?

    KICKITDOWNTHEGUTS · 09/05/2017 at 17:24

No. Dahlhaus, McCrae, Kennedy, Lynch, Franklin, Riewoldt, Greene, Nankervis and even Yeo all ahead of him.

      pod · 09/05/2017 at 17:39

Agree, he's not at this stage.

    TheScacman · 09/05/2017 at 17:29

Has the potential to score minimum 85 most weeks, will ton up in plenty. Will be more consistent than JPK, Lynch and possibly even Franklin. Could be worth waiting a week to see how he scores

    DefyingMadness · 09/05/2017 at 17:37

    Think he could be

SirSamuel016 · 09/05/2017 at 17:23

Weighing up a couple of trade options for this week.
Option 1: Treloar and Otten/Hampton for Bont and Adams
Option 2: Otten and Hampton for Adams and another one.
I have 353k in the bank so I'm up for ideas on who I should bring in other than Adams too.

    Lee · 09/05/2017 at 18:32

Heath Shaw ,Rockliff ,Sloane and Bont good if you have the money.Keep Treloar trade Hampton and Ottens

    Sauce · 09/05/2017 at 18:35

I would go Hampton and otten out for either rance, Docherty, Adams, laird, Roberton

      SirSamuel016 · 09/05/2017 at 18:59

Already got Rance and Docherty. Trading those two out and bringing in Adams leaves me 492.7k left for another player.

        hedski · 09/05/2017 at 20:43

          SirSamuel016 · 09/05/2017 at 21:32

          Got Shaw already as well

            hedski · 09/05/2017 at 21:58

Cool sry mate, easier if you say who ya have πŸ˜‰

        redherringfc · 09/05/2017 at 20:52

There's a few interesting players you could get for 492k.

if you can switch positions, using dpp, and consider any position then, Parker? Johannisen? big Sauce? TMacdonald, Goldy, Shaw.

        All have good history.

    redherringfc · 09/05/2017 at 19:55

If i had your money I'd go Otten, Hampton to Adams and Heeney. Unfortunately i'm 20k short.

    Definitely get Adams.

    Tyruddanaut · 09/05/2017 at 20:23

    Option 2

    SF4 · 10/05/2017 at 17:59

Trade out Hampton and Otten. Bring in Jake Lloyd and Taylor Adams, those would be 2 very solid trades.

    wightyswarriors · 10/05/2017 at 19:26

SC101….again…never sideways trade a gun unless injured…remember hanneberry this year ?

      JohndJames · 10/05/2017 at 23:15

Treloar can no longer be considered a gun.

    JohndJames · 10/05/2017 at 23:13

Option one wins hands down,Treloar and Hampton for Bont and Adams.

Gags · 09/05/2017 at 17:26

Roberton or Adams??

    pod · 09/05/2017 at 17:29

    Adams DPP

TheScacman · 09/05/2017 at 17:27

Bringing in McNiece this week to free up some cash, Hampton and Otten to go.

1. Yeo – top 6 forward almost guaranteed, even with Yeo-Yeo type scoring
2. Heeney – Looks good coming back from glandular, tons in his past 2 games and 70K cheaper than Yeo
3. Bont – hard to find cheaper than this for the rest of the year, does blow out all my cash

    Lee · 09/05/2017 at 18:33

The Bont easily as more captain options

Swans2012 · 09/05/2017 at 17:36

Bloody David bloody swallow, was always going to hold you to help me through the bloody byes but this is pushing the boundaries. David I don't know whether I can swallow this any longer….

    INPieman · 09/05/2017 at 18:52

    Spit the Swallow

    Jacko · 09/05/2017 at 19:31

Making his owners gag for sure. πŸ™‚

      TOPHAWK1 · 09/05/2017 at 20:21

No gagging here. Spat him out 2 weeks ago.

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 09/05/2017 at 23:23

    Surprised u started swallow swans?

With him, JOM and beams in the one team nearly blew up the ol' risk matrix.

So both got the boot quick smart
Only risk I took was Beams and Sandi. Which with Beams now looks like a wrong move as well. But u need to take a chance somewhere.
    Just not too many

      Swans2012 · 10/05/2017 at 07:43

Yeah the matrix was in overload, jom beams sandy steele Higgins swallow to name a few, but that was the road I decided to tread this year. Jom and swallow (now that he is missing every second bloody week) are the only true fails, and I chopped jom reasonably early so meh…..if only I'd seen swallow late out round one…..
Anyway fwiw I'm holding beams and swallow for now, bigger fish to fry and I've got "decent" cover for the next week or two. Hopefully puts me ahead of the pack when they are fit and firing through the byes…..
I'm pretty confident that swallow has had his rests (surely that's what this week is rather than spend 42 hours on a plane) and will score 80+ Through the byes.

SC17 · 09/05/2017 at 17:45

Weighing up a few trade options this week.

Option 1: Hampton and Steele for Buddy(via DPP) and McNiece/Berry
Option 2: Hampton and Steele for Yeo(via DPP) and McNiece/Berry
Option 3: Hampton and Steele for JJK(via DPP) and McNiece/Berry

Have $328K in bank so open to any suggestions on who to trade.

    DacZawson · 09/05/2017 at 19:05

Surely you have more pressing issues than Jack Steele?
Make sure Otten, Butler, Houston, SPP etc. are gone before you even think about trading Steele.

    SC17 · 09/05/2017 at 20:52

I have Otten, SPP, Taranto, Hampton, Barrett, WHE, Black

      hedski · 09/05/2017 at 21:27

      No stress then

    SF4 · 10/05/2017 at 18:02

Steele is averaging 90, there is no need to get rid of him.

Mitchell · 09/05/2017 at 17:49

What are everyone's predictions for the finishing top 6 Defenders?

    Sauce · 09/05/2017 at 18:30

Docherty, Adams, Laird, Roberton, Rance, Lloyd

    TBone · 09/05/2017 at 19:25

Doc, Adams, Laird, Shaw, Rance, Lloyd

    Sc_hart · 09/05/2017 at 19:58

Touhy will be in the conversation

    Tyruddanaut · 09/05/2017 at 20:21

Docherty, Adams, Laird, Robertson, Johannisson, Simmo

    whatyasmokin · 09/05/2017 at 20:31

Docherty, Laird, Adams, Roberton, Simpson, Lloyd.

    Kyle · 10/05/2017 at 12:45

Doc adams laird simpson JJ rance

Gut says Roberton is gonna slow right down soon. Maybe top 6 for the year because of all the points he has scored so far but not top 6 from here till end of season.

    beef fc · 10/05/2017 at 15:50

    lok · 10/05/2017 at 16:11

Doc, Laird, Adams, Lloyd, Shaw and Roberton.

Danners · 09/05/2017 at 17:54

Great work lads, hope Shanghai treating you well. I have the same view as Jock on the Bont which is why he will be coming in for me this week. After getting some cash in the bank last week, it's time to spend it with the trades I'm doing are
Hampton to Doc
Houston to Bont
which leaves me with $211k in the bank.
Probably overspent on them both but after a couple of crap rounds, I need to make some ground up.

    INPieman · 09/05/2017 at 18:13

Danners. Post your team & your warchest & trade numbers. On face value I think your making a mistake

      Danners · 09/05/2017 at 20:26

Making a mistake? I'm interested why, my team before trades
DEF: Shaw, Laird, Otten, Hampton, Williamson, Newman (Macreadie, EVW)
MID: Danger, Pendles, Fyfe, Parker, Titch, Adams, SPP, Balic (Fisher, Barrett, Pickett)
      RUCK: Grundy, Sandilands (Strnadica)
FWD: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Buddy, Nank, WHE, Houston (Hannan, Parsons)
$801k in the bank as hard as it is to admit, I have 20 trades left before doing anything

        redherringfc · 09/05/2017 at 20:42

surely he's joking. the trades are a no-brainer.

        INPieman · 09/05/2017 at 21:23

DEF: Shaw (Williams killing him), Laird (tick), Otten (not a keeper), Hampton (needs to go), Williamson (good bench option), Newman (finshed, horse hates him) (Macreadie (not playing), EVW (couldn't score on tinder)
MID: Danger (tick), Pendles (tick), Fyfe (tick), Parker (will come good), Titch (tick), Adams (tick), SPP (has to go), Balic (has to go eventually) (Fisher (injured), Barrett (Pray he holds his spot) , Pickett (shit)
RUCK: Grundy (F'd by Cox), Sandilands (pray he keep a tick) (Strnadica)
FWD: Dahlhaus (tick), Macrae (tick), Buddy (tick), Nank (tick), WHE (cash out asap), Houston (away you go) (Hannan (shit), Parsons (yuk)

Look to get rid of 50-60 type players onfield to fallen premiums that can score 100+

          hedski · 09/05/2017 at 21:29

I ticked when I got to EVW.

            INPieman · 09/05/2017 at 21:34

Get Yeo & Simmo this week. And more value next week

              Danners · 09/05/2017 at 22:25

Wow, I appreciate the full review Pieman, Simpson is an option I've been tossing up, but I still have my doubts on Yeo, he could get the job done just 50/50 on him at the moment will probably research him more this week. Still I can't see Bont falling in price for while. A lot to think about…

                Randomcliche2 · 09/05/2017 at 23:25

Hey, much less qualified than INPieman, but yeah, I'm of the view with 800k you should be trying for 5 out of your next 6 next trades as upgrades, looking for value and bye round impact. Like many teams you are heavy on rnd 13 players Def/Mid and Rnd 11 fwd. So I'd be looking McGov/Rance/Yo-Yo this week with perhaps Jelwood + Myers next week, plus 2 GCS/Port the week after, whoever takes your fancy. That will take you to 19 premo's leading into the byes with plenty of spread across each week, while getting value and some players with lower ownership (except Yo-Yo) in the top 100. (Otten+Hampton this week, Houston+WHE next, with Newman to follow close behind)

                INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 10:38

Pick off value. You'll end up with more premos. Keep an eye on JPK. Started last season the same as this & went crazy after that. Turned his 102 AV into 119! Grabbing guys at 500K will give you more premos & faster

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 09/05/2017 at 18:27

    Can't go wrong there danners
Should finish close to top of the pops in both positions

    Sauce · 09/05/2017 at 18:29

    Brian · 09/05/2017 at 21:09

Getting in the doc and the Bont is definitely worth the extra cash. But why not trade out Pickett. He has absoluely no use. Houston could be very useful during the byes. He gets 60 every week so won't loose much and will probably go up in value if anything.

      Danners · 09/05/2017 at 21:28

I probably could, although that means I'm using another $120k. I still have a feeling that he could get a run sometime

    Kyle · 10/05/2017 at 12:53

I would be careful about splashing out extra $$$ on premos danners. Need to make sure you get to full premo asap and that means looking for value this year. For every 600k you spend on the bont, you need to find a keeper for around 440k to compensate for the big spend. While the trade may look good on paper, it nay negatively impact your team in the weeks to come.

Zorko, JJ, simpson, JPK, Yeo, dusty, even players like selwood or stef martin in a few weeks are all players to keep a close eye on.

      whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 14:02

So with your theory of maximum spend on keepers being around 500K……………..how are you going to get players like Bontempelli at all?

        Kyle · 10/05/2017 at 17:59

Maths is a little wrong there whatyasmoking, At this stage the premos i bring in are around the 520-550k range. I wont be bringing bont in till i have the luxury of a full premo team and just upgrading from there. And there is still players like JJ at 460k. Zorko, stef martin JPk and the like who are gonna be around 520k or even lower so im looking to bring them in soon aswell. Then there is selwood with a BE of 180 so he is gonna drop aswell. Very possible to reach full premo as long as you dont over spend on players. Bringing in bonts and sloans will make it harder to reach full premo.

Even the bont could have a bad game or two and drop to a better price for me. Just look at sloane last week.

I dont think 540k is an unreasonable budget this year. Maybe im looking at it the wrong way but thats just what i think.

Id bring in Zerrett and JJ over bont and doc. Saves an extra 200k to straight swap another 2 plump cows to premo next week aswell.

jimmy · 09/05/2017 at 18:06

basically my team has been severely under performing so i need some help on where i can improve

DEF: Laird, Lloyd, Howe, Marcbank, Hampton, EVW (Stewart, Newman)
MID: Rockliff, Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Ablett, Fyfe, Priddis, Mundy, Balic (Barret, Fisher, Fox)
RUCK: Nankervis, Sandilands (Strandica)
FWD: Macrae, JJK, Greene, Butler, Houstan, Hardwick (Parsons, Eddy)

have 24 trades and 610k in the bank what can i do to improve my team Help!!!!!!!

    Mike · 09/05/2017 at 18:17

Get the bont and t adams in your side

    Sauce · 09/05/2017 at 18:32

houston to buddy and Hampton to Docherty

    Juzzy · 09/05/2017 at 18:33

Agree with Mike, but the way money and rooks are going I would strongly consider Shaw and Franklin this week.

May leave you with some vital cash to fill a few other holes down the track.

    whatyasmokin · 09/05/2017 at 20:51

    wightyswarriors · 10/05/2017 at 19:34

Mcniece or Berry PLEASE HELP

    Jacko · 09/05/2017 at 18:46

McNiece, assuming he plays this week.

    Lazza · 09/05/2017 at 21:03

McNiece is a LTI elevated rookie … will be heading back to the VFL when Laverde returns ….

      FizzEm · 09/05/2017 at 22:07

berry. his JS is far more superior. at this point you need blokes who will play.

      Loop · 10/05/2017 at 05:54

Laverde is listed as being out for 8 weeks, surely McNeice – if he comes back in – can make some cash in that time.

    Derek · 10/05/2017 at 09:12

    Berry isn't that good

    whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 10:07

Watson and McGrath to come back..Mcneice js not good

    BlueNath · 10/05/2017 at 20:37

Berry has better js and scoring potential. So Mcniece! Because all normal SC logic has failed me so far this year

Lee · 09/05/2017 at 18:36

Get Heath Shaw for Hampton and get Franklin for Houston

Sc_hart · 09/05/2017 at 18:40

Really struggling last 2 weeks, probably not alone but would like sone thoughts on my team

Laird Docherty adams touhy otten hampton newman stewart
Danger selwood pendles treloar fyfe jpk spp barret Fisher hibberd miles
Martin sandi preuss
Dahl lynch nank whe butler parson balic eddy

I have endurered some rookie and underperforming pain, currently ranked around 6000 24 trades and 275k

Otten to Lloyd and maybe hampton to berry or mcneice??
Penny for your thoughts

    GTrain · 09/05/2017 at 21:40

Hampton to Berry, Miles (injured) to Heeney

    Cogla13 · 10/05/2017 at 18:40

No cash being generated. I'd go Otten/Hampton to McNeice if named (I don't like him but you are desperate) and then Miles/Fisher/Hibberd to Myers one week early. That gives you bench cover in the midfield and money to spend next week.

KRAM · 09/05/2017 at 18:43

I've got the cash to get the bont, however, with the lack of rookies available cash will become very important. So I've decided to get priddis instead. Looked at his last two years and he always seems to hit form around this time and average 115+. Thoughts?

    INPieman · 09/05/2017 at 18:56

Prid always ends up cheap. And then delivers for you. Always. The lack of a good ruck is a concern. But I like the move lots

    whatyasmokin · 09/05/2017 at 20:33

Priddis is a great buy and nobody notices him. He is cruising along scoring quite well this year.

TOPHAWK1 · 09/05/2017 at 18:50

Hi community,

Trades planned for this week are based around preparing for the byes and at the same time pushing to be at full premo by round 12.

I am looking for youth and value for money after trading in old boy Heath Shaw last week.

HAMPTON OUT for either Mutimer or Myers (1 week early). Mutimer was very impressive against Port for his 60 odd. Was prepared to be physically involved to get the pill and demonstrated agressive tackling. (Via DPP)

BEAMS OUT for YEO. Will watch Pendles and Treloar (fitness) for another week.

    Tyruddanaut · 09/05/2017 at 20:16

If either rookie is placed on the extended bench don't take them. But otherwise I agree with your justifications

      TOPHAWK1 · 09/05/2017 at 20:24

I agree. If named on the extended bench it = non selection.

    Derek · 10/05/2017 at 09:11

Have a look at WCE next 6 games, especially their home games. We know they struggle away from home, but their next 3 home games will also be tough.

Does Yeo's position suite some tough games? Does he play in defence? Might be a good play.

      TOPHAWK1 · 10/05/2017 at 09:28

I watched Yeo very closely against Port last weekend and this bloke has gone to the next level IMO. He looked bloody awesome. Fast, imposing, versatile, and powerful. I think he will revel in tough matches. Bulldogs, GWS and Geelong will be a great test for the eagles at home, but I reckon Yeo will hold his own and some. Cheers

        TOPHAWK1 · 10/05/2017 at 09:36

And at $525 K his price is still reasonable and within my premo range. As you mentioned in an earlier post, the poor quality of the rooks means less cash generation. There is no way I am coughing up $600K plus for premo players like Sloane, Bontempelli, Rockliff etc at this time of the season. Looking for value. (Heath Shaw last week, Hannebery 3 weeks ago etc)

Going to watch Pendles and Treloar with interest this week. If Treloar is injured or misses this week and Pendles pumps out a 120+ I will do a straight switch. Pendles slightly more expensive than now (BE 90) but at $575K that is VALUE for money. It means I secure an ultra premo below $600K and partially offset the loss incurred on Treloar. Time will tell if it will play out like that though.

INPieman · 09/05/2017 at 18:51

The children's story last week was Awesome!

Juzzy · 09/05/2017 at 18:51

Already have Bont Kram but am strongly considering Priddis this week.

His bye is a blessing for me as well.

    Derek · 10/05/2017 at 09:07

My 2 targets have been JPK and Pendles. But Priddis is my next in line.

They have a run of tough home games, I can see him racking up some big tackle numbers

Sellars1220 · 09/05/2017 at 18:52

DEF: Docherty, Laird, Hurley, McGrath, Newman, EVW ( Stewart, Scharenburg )
MID : Danger, Ablett, Bont, Rockcliff, Pendles, Fyfe, SPP, Fisher ( Bolton, Jarman, Bayok )
RUC : Grundy, Sandilands ( Cameron )
FWD : Dahl, JJK, Nank, Ryder, Steele, Hanan ( Eddy, Smith )

Zac Fisher definitely needs to go cause he's not gonna get any game time

Option 1: Newman and Fisher ( leaves me with 450k )
Option 2: SPP and Fisher ( leaves me with 500K )

Or any other suggestions of who to trade in/out would be gladly appreciated!

    DacZawson · 09/05/2017 at 19:08

You really need a warm body on field so I'd suggest going early on Myers for Fisher or even Mutimer if desperate and go Newman to McNiece if he gets named.

    Good luck!!!

      Sellars1220 · 09/05/2017 at 19:24

      Cheers mate

bighawk76 · 09/05/2017 at 19:03

Sandilands or Nank for ruck????

melican may still be an option ? thoughts,

    Tyruddanaut · 09/05/2017 at 20:15

Poor JS but if he plays this week I would strongly consider him

    whatyasmokin · 09/05/2017 at 20:43

    Boat missed.

Ken · 09/05/2017 at 19:55

Thoughts on joke Lloyd? He needs a lot of the pill just to score 100… Is he a good option with everyone coming back at Sydney (Mcveigh already back) , Newman ….when does Rampe come back??

    whatyasmokin · 09/05/2017 at 20:42

Jake Lloyd gets the pill whoever is in the team and runs all day.

      Derek · 10/05/2017 at 09:04

      Rampe listed as 2 weeks

        whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 10:05

From rounds 20 to the GF last year both were in the team and both were scoring well. He also tonned up many times earlier in the year with Rampe in the team.

You over analyze people coming back in.

Good News supercoaches Mitch Robinson is Out for 10 Week Yes 10 that bloody brisbane tagged is Gone Now we will see some solid SC against the lions.

Baby's come from Vachina.. Assuming you pass the Rubiks cube challenge. Gold again boy's

    hedski · 09/05/2017 at 21:32

Shit I thought Pendles missus popped when I started reading that post.

Tyruddanaut · 09/05/2017 at 20:14

I'm wondering whether to go for The Bont or Robertson this week. So far my structures would be more forgiving on Dylan Robertson but I would also like a higher point generator.
So far the amount of rookies on field from Def – Fwd are 3-2-0-1 so Roberton will change it to 2-2-0-1 or currently because of rookie options and Dahl's DPP 2-1-0-2

    TOPHAWK1 · 09/05/2017 at 20:39

Both are valid picks, but both are at very inflated price points.

If you had to pick one, just grab the Bont, and pay the big bucks for his scoring output.

I am not entertaining either this week. Far too expensive. Looking for value for cash, because of the spawn of crap rookies YTD.

    Danners · 09/05/2017 at 21:30

Just like Jock said, Bont will turn out to be a must have so bring him in before Roberton

bob the builder · 09/05/2017 at 20:19

Upgrade Otten and Hold Hampton or
downgrade Hampton and hold Otten??

    TOPHAWK1 · 09/05/2017 at 20:26

Hold Otten and remove Hampton from your side.

Love his stories. Got me laughing my head off every week

TBone · 09/05/2017 at 20:23

Hey guys, just thought I'd post up my team and some trade options for this week in the hope I could get some advice to put this season back on track.

Laird, Shaw, Rance, Marchbank, Hampton, Newman (Stewart, Hibberd)

Danger, Pendles, Fyfe, Wines, JPK, Treloar, SPP, Barrett (Bowes, Pickett, Fisher)

Grundy, Sandi (Strnadica)

Dahl, Macrae, Nank, Petracca, Butler, Balic (Parsons, Eddy)

1. Hampton and Hibberd to Lloyd and Berry (mainly to avoid an 0 if stewart and newman dont play)

2. Hampton and Petracca to Lloyd and Buddy

3. Hampton and Treloar to Lloyd and Doc (Swing Lloyd from mids to def to cover newman and stewart via hibberd)

4. Hampton and Treloar to Bont and Lloyd (cop 0 if stewart and newman not named) would still have 105k left in kitty

Any other suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated fellow coaches. Cheers!

    whatyasmokin · 09/05/2017 at 20:54

      TBone · 09/05/2017 at 21:18

cheers, was swinging that way. would pick adams but doesnt suit my bye structure

    Rivo · 10/05/2017 at 07:41

    Yep 3 looks good.

    Lazza · 10/05/2017 at 13:35

I'd be keeping Treloar … he is still a Premo … only trade out when you get to full 22 Premo's.

Option 2 is a win win.

      TBone · 10/05/2017 at 14:10

fair point. If newman or stewart doesnt play is it worth doing that and taking the 0 in defence?

    Cogla13 · 10/05/2017 at 18:12

Too many non playing rookies means no cash generation. Suggest getting rid of Pickett, even if he comes back in he won't make money.

Tom · 09/05/2017 at 20:30

Zerrett or Titchell??

    whatyasmokin · 09/05/2017 at 20:43

    I like Zerrett.

      Kev · 09/05/2017 at 21:48

      Same. Higher ceiling

BlueBoy · 09/05/2017 at 20:37

For this week I'm not sure whether to go

Treloar to Yeo
Hampton to Z Jones

Treloar to Yeo
Otten to Bont (Adams from mid to def)

I think the Bont will go up by less than Jones so I can potentially get him next week, but is Jones worth the risk?

    whatyasmokin · 09/05/2017 at 20:46

My only problem with Jones is unproven and potential role change when others come back.

    Option 2.

      BlueBoy · 09/05/2017 at 21:08

I thought about that too but who is coming in to change his role? Jack?

      GTrain · 09/05/2017 at 21:44

Z Jones already has a role change – dashing half back to wing with 143

    hedski · 09/05/2017 at 20:57

Hold Treloar. To early to sideways on rumours or one week on the pine.

      BlueBoy · 09/05/2017 at 21:12

It's more the 3 scores only just over 70 in the last 4 games. These injury rumours are just poo-icing on the shit-cake. I can't see him turning it around that drastically in any reasonable amount of time.

Besides, I'll be doing everyone who holds him a favour by trading him out this week. He'll be sure to ton up.

        hedski · 09/05/2017 at 21:37

Fair enough if ya have the trades

          hedski · 09/05/2017 at 22:04

          Check Hannas first 3 rounds…

            BlueBoy · 09/05/2017 at 22:25

            Yeah fair point.

Kane petifer · 09/05/2017 at 20:51

Lloyd, Roberton, or shaw?

    whatyasmokin · 09/05/2017 at 20:53

    Simpson due to low ownership.

But of your 3 choices I'd go Shaw, Lloyd, Roberton in terms of value right now.

      whatyasmokin · 09/05/2017 at 20:55

Shaw being best value, Roberton least*

    Derek · 10/05/2017 at 09:01

    Shaw under $500k. Get him

Sellars1220 · 09/05/2017 at 21:00

Is Nic Newman going to play again or is he a trade out

    Smithy · 09/05/2017 at 21:24

Horse pretty much hates him like Titch last season so Swans would need some significant injuries in the backline before he gets another look in. Has already made the bulk of his cash anyway even if he does return later in the season. So pretty safe to trade him I'd say unless he miraculously gets named this week.

      Sellars1220 · 09/05/2017 at 21:35

Who would u recommend as a replacement?

      Sellars1220 · 09/05/2017 at 21:37

I'm thinking if I trad rout Fisher and Newman I can get Myers and Ryan Burton

        Finnius123 · 09/05/2017 at 22:53

definitely do not do that. Sideways trading (especially to burton). Hold of a week or two on both newman and fisher – both could easily get recalled in the next few weeks

    Top Gun · 09/05/2017 at 23:25

Big chance to come back this week

Mitch · 09/05/2017 at 21:02

    The Jackal · 09/05/2017 at 21:28

Have to hold the bastard unfortunately and would trade him when he has round 13 bye if he is still a train wreck at that point.

      Thomas · 09/05/2017 at 21:32

Good call Jackal. Trading during his bye will at least get you back around 100pts the prick owes us if you are going to burn a trade on him.

Bryan · 09/05/2017 at 21:14

I just want some trade advice on Byes over coming weeks. I have the following numbers out each week:

R9 – 3
R 11 – 8
R12 – 7
R13 – 12

    Kev · 09/05/2017 at 21:47

Remember round 9 is business as usual. Best 22. With bench cover being basically non existent target to get rid of those round 9 players

    Randomcliche2 · 09/05/2017 at 23:56

I'll be taking 3 GCS suns players in to the byes, SPP to Myers next week might remove 1 for you if you can cover the other 2. They will be useful come bye time.

Danny · 09/05/2017 at 21:44

Scott Pendlebury or Zach Merrett?

    Goat · 09/05/2017 at 22:04

    Holty · 10/05/2017 at 10:39

If you are trading this week, Merrett. If after the birth of Pendles Jr, then Pendles

Matt · 09/05/2017 at 22:29

Can anyone tell me how much buddy will go up if he scores 80 this week?

Finnius123 · 09/05/2017 at 22:33

What does everyone reckon the chances are of either Newman, Stewart or Mcneice being recalled this week? Just need one of the three……….

    The Jackal · 09/05/2017 at 22:44

Cats may need to change things up after two poor losses so Stewart has to surely be at least some sort of chance. Aliir will be back for the Swans after serving his club imposed ban and Rampe is another month away so doubt we will see Newman any time soon. McNiece should be a decent chance to return this week after being supposedly rested. Either way we'll know in another 48hrs or so.

    Goat · 09/05/2017 at 22:59

    21%, 47% and38% respectively. For what it's worth☹️

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 09/05/2017 at 23:08

        I stand corrected on mcneice.

    Juzzy · 09/05/2017 at 23:26

Very good chance that one of the three will be back Mate.

    Rivo · 10/05/2017 at 06:56

Stewart most likely to come back in. The others rely more on injuries to come in.

    INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 10:43

    Newman 0%, McNeice 60%, Stewart 60%

Bitta · 09/05/2017 at 22:52

rip into me u want community, but if Wingard (yes, mr. inconsistent) keeps playing predominately midfield, he could be a genuine option!

    Jezza · 09/05/2017 at 23:31

No offence Bitta but come back here in another 2 weeks. Wingard is not fantasy relevant now until AFTER his round 9 bye. Coaches have other fishes to fry this week like what to do with Otten and Hampton or which rookie to bring in or which forward to get on out of Heeney, Buddy or Yeo but definitely not the Chad this week,

      Bitta · 10/05/2017 at 00:00

cheers Jezza, not thinking about him now, just if he keeps up this current form down the track

    Juzzy · 09/05/2017 at 23:32

    No ripping from me Bitta.

Loving his midfield role. As long as he doesn't die from dust storms/ humidity/ deep vein thrombosis etc..etc..(loving the medias freakout) I am looking to get him in post bye.

Oliver · 09/05/2017 at 23:58

With $738k, should I go Bont, Oliver or Zerrett? Other considerations were Hanners & Cripps.

I figured I probably will have to pass on Bont purely because I'm not sure I will have enough cash generation in the future – I have Newman and Stewart in the back line.

Thanks community!

    Gordon · 10/05/2017 at 00:02

You may as well get the Bont in. If you want to win SuperCoach or at least your league finals then you are going to need the Bont at some point so you may as well grab him now whilst you have the bank.

      Finnius123 · 10/05/2017 at 08:21

    Lazza · 10/05/2017 at 13:41

The only reason to not get Bont (yet) is how it will impact you in R11. Definitely coming into my team R12.

    pod · 10/05/2017 at 13:47

If not the Bont MUST be Zerrett

Rivo · 10/05/2017 at 07:09

Another stellar podcast lads.
With Karl's & others great wisdoms, I have the trade plan order as below. Have 21 trades and $308k. Currently premo set up as 3,7,2,3 (M.Crouch at M7).

1. Otten & Houston to Simpson & Heeney. Leaves $5k, adds premo to D4 and F4;

2. Otten & Hampton to Simpson & Rance, leaves only $3k but D1-5 premo;

3. Treloar & Otten to Bont & T. Adams. Leaves $61k, adds premo to D4, correction trade on Treloar.

To get Bont & Adams means burning Treloar. Is it worth it or do I stick with Option 1?

    Finnius123 · 10/05/2017 at 08:21

Prefer option 1 – Treloar is still going to have a higher output than a rookie so you should hold him at least until his bye

      Rivo · 10/05/2017 at 08:24

Thanks Finnius. What if Treloar is out injured? There is a strong rumour suggesting so.

        Rivo · 10/05/2017 at 08:56

        And another left field option..

Hampton & Fisher to Bont & McNiece, leaves $63k, SPP to bench, run either Stewart or EVW on field. However miss out on Heeney & Simmo at cheaper prices.

    whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 10:00

    2. Heeney is unproven.

      Rivo · 10/05/2017 at 15:28

Heeney may need to come in as Houston looks to be not traveling to China!

        Jimmy · 10/05/2017 at 15:54

Playing as a midfielder since late last season so should be a fantastic option for the money although getting another round 11 bye keeper is terrible for your bye structures.

          Rivo · 11/05/2017 at 06:11

Thanks Jimmy. With Houston out this week it's sounding like Option 1. If Treloar doesn't play I can swing Barrett on field or even DPP Ballic to run Parsons at F6. Byes aside, it can work.

So it looks like it may be Otten & Houston to Simpson & Heeney.

            Rivo · 11/05/2017 at 07:18

However, if Pendles and Treloar are out, then maybe Bont comes in under Option 3. SC doing my head in!!!

Joshua · 10/05/2017 at 08:13

Hampton to Mcniece (if named, might have to go someone like Berry if he isn't) and Otten to Adams is the go this week for me.

    The BONT · 10/05/2017 at 08:50

    Same trade as me

    Lazza · 10/05/2017 at 13:42

VARC · 10/05/2017 at 08:31

Apologies for repost but always seem to post just as new article comes up!

Thoughts on the below for two week trading plan:

1. Hampton to Berry/Melican and Beams to Rocky

2. JOM to Myers and either Butler or SPP to fwd/mid at about 510k

Means that I'd have to play Berry/Melican on-field this week (assuming Stewart and Newman not named) and have to hold JOM for another week – if he plays he starts, if not it's Barrett on-field.

Thoughts community, is there a better option out there? I have Bont and Pendles in the mids, along with Danger, Fyfe and Hannebery. Really like Rockliff's point scoring ability, even if at 590k

    whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 09:58

    3. JOM needs to go. SS Melicanberry has sailed.

      VARC · 10/05/2017 at 10:05

Would be treating Berry/Melican as expensive rookie downgrade, still potential for cash generation.

        whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 10:08

lol will cost two trades one in and one out to generate that cash. Not going to be worth it simple as that.

        whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 10:09

Why don't you do JOM to Myers for cash gen?

          VARC · 10/05/2017 at 10:27

Still got 23 trades so am reasonably placed to bring in Melican/Berry and then wait for a better defender rookie to downgrade to down the track (I think Berry's JS is much better than someone like McNiece) – I basically need to start making some moves over the next couple of weeks!

JOM to Myers is a live option for this week but traditionally don't like trading in a player pre-bubble – Hampton's b/e has me looking to punt him this week to make the Rocky trade.

Tim · 10/05/2017 at 09:28

Thinking double upgrade this week, but if McNiece gets named, should i reconsider and paint the fence. I can either
Option 1: Otten to Rance – Hampton to Mcniece (leaves me with 469k)
Option 2: Hampton to Mcniece – Butler/Houston to Yeo (leaves me with 328k)
Option 3: Hampton to Rance – Butler/Houston to Yeo (leaves 26k)

If i pained the fence, means i can double upgrade next week. Im worried other than Myers there may not be any good rookies coming up. What should i do?

    whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 09:58

Option 3, McNeice JS is shaky as.

Touk tuk · 10/05/2017 at 10:06

I want to get hampton out but he is going to get a game every round if he keeps fit. I think he will come handy during round 11 & 12.
Thoughts community?

    Holty · 10/05/2017 at 10:44

I think he will only lose money now until those byes. If you can trade him for a premium, i would certainly consider it.

    jez_m · 10/05/2017 at 11:28

Seems that 103 he scored against Gold Coast was an outlier. If you've got both Hampton and Otten, then Hampton has to go first.

    Uncle Toby · 10/05/2017 at 11:37

I guess we'll see what changes Pykey makes after a 10 goal thrashing. Hampton doesn't seem to be doing a hell of a lot out there in recent games so JS has to be in some doubt you'd think.

    Derek · 10/05/2017 at 11:53

you will lose cash, how much cash are you willing to lose?

meph · 10/05/2017 at 10:42

Dogs · 10/05/2017 at 10:43

Why do people think berry is going to be a cash cow at his price of $170k? It's taken him 5 matches to get there and projected for no higher than $200k for the season. I've had him from the start and it's extremely disappointing being an owner, especially the times I've had to put him on field.

    INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 11:03

Add him to the long list a disappointing rookies. It's a massive list

    SCdonkey · 10/05/2017 at 11:30

I see him as a good downgrade with DPP status will be handy during the bye rounds, seems to have a good JS. Like i said on my last post he still have plenty of cash to be made. His 1st two games of 46 and 50 will be out of calculation, in the last two game he scored 74 and 60 will carry on for the next couple of weeks. All he needs is get one good score and he will earn us good cash generation. At only $170K cant go wrong.

    Captain Risky · 10/05/2017 at 11:50

I'm only looking at him as a reliable emergency that will hopefully be around all year. Don't need him to generate cash.

Looks to have good JS and DPP is a bonus. Form seems to be improving, which is better than those mongrels that start off fantastic, turn to shit and get dropped..

    Derek · 10/05/2017 at 11:52

i had him from week one so have been watching him when i can.

    he isn't that good

Ken · 10/05/2017 at 11:14

Kade Simpson or Jake lloyd

    Danners · 10/05/2017 at 11:17

    Simpson for reliability

    David · 10/05/2017 at 11:33

Prefer Lloyd. Simpson's role has already changed too much for my liking this season and no reason it couldn't change again for the worse.

    INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 12:16

As a frustrated Simpson owner this year I agree with David. His roles vary & so does his scoring

INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 11:19

Hearing from my sources Matt Sharenberg will line up against the Giants. Has built up awesome form in the VFL. Last week in a loss, 22 Kicks 13 Marks 12 Handballs 2 inside 50's 7 Rebound 50's 2 tackles & 82% DE. Please bring those numbers with you to the AFL Shaz!

    jez_m · 10/05/2017 at 11:25

Hope he comes in – would be an ideal defensive downgrade!

    Doubting Thomas · 10/05/2017 at 11:41

Not sure he's supercoach relevant mate given his price and how he basically disappeared in the JLT after all the preseason hype about him. I suppose people are so desperate for downgrade options that they are seeing mirages where there are probably only empty wells. I won't even be looking at him until he's on the bubble, if he even gets there.

      INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 12:06

It's like that Doubting Thomas. The rookie well is so dry we are scraping for anything. It's a sad state of affairs. Beyond Meyers we can't see much coming. Scarenberg's round 13 bye is also awkward given the number of defender round 13 bye players. But anyway anyone under 200K is on table ATM

        Loop · 10/05/2017 at 12:19

I'm hoping that Hibberd will get a game soon.

          Nick · 10/05/2017 at 12:39

Will he get a game soon?

            Maso · 10/05/2017 at 12:49

Not whilst they are winning games plus Mullett could return this week from injury so EVW holders better hold their collective breaths too.

              Connor · 10/05/2017 at 12:55

It's been an infuriating season on the rookie front. You bring in some bubble boy hopeful only for him to be dropped the following week. So it's going to be a savage bye period coming up with so many non playing bench rookies this time around. Rounds 11 and 13 are going to be particularly brutal for a lot of coaches so i can envisage a lot of sideways trading of under-perfoming premos coming up to try and post some sort of respectable score and not get obliterated in the ranks during the byes.

                INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 13:14

Your right Connor. The bye rounds will make or break teams. Those that haven't been planning will crash & burn. Relying on rookies to get you through the byes is a thing of the past

                Big Kev · 10/05/2017 at 13:22

Indeed I've got a couple of under-performing premos earmarked as potential sideways trades during the byes to at least get something worthwhile out of those aholes.

        Lazza · 10/05/2017 at 13:55

Except Berry hey !! … this joker is in the same boat as JOM & Swallow when it comes to staying on the park. .. a high risk option with little SC performance ….amazing how the logic varies .. … His name is spelt Scharenberg btw.

    Derek · 10/05/2017 at 11:51

    yep. have heard the same

    Russty_ · 10/05/2017 at 17:13

Problem is…how many reports of Rooks tearing it up in the VFL have we heard, and then they get a real game and turn into timid little wallflowers, hardly getting a touch?…bloody sick of em, I'd rather do 2 upgrades this week, and have less money for next week.
Someone will get injured or spud it, to enable further trading..without depending on a new unproven spud, who could easily crap their pants when they get to the big stage

      INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 18:02

Wouldn't bring any rookie in Russ until they are about to break the bubble. Think that's important this season. See how he goes first 2

hedski · 10/05/2017 at 11:23

Houston and Eddy not playing in China, need Parsons to get a gig or trade plans out the window again…

    Thommo · 10/05/2017 at 11:45

Well f*ck me the round 8 carnage has already begun!

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 10/05/2017 at 11:49

    Eddy is bloody unlucky
    Port just fully fit
Have a look at the injury list on AFL website.
    Port zero yep zero injuries.

      INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 12:08

It's unbelievable Trig. I can't recall ever seeing a team with Zero injuries. No one even listed as a test. Crazy. This is the rookie luck we are copping this year

    Pissedofftothemax! · 10/05/2017 at 12:12

Now all I need is for Gaz to be a late out and will be stuck with 4 round 9 asswipes who aren't even playing round 8! Also have that POS Swallow and 'Where's Eddy??'

      Pissedofftothemax! · 10/05/2017 at 12:13

And 'Houston we have a problem'

        Swans2012 · 10/05/2017 at 12:37

For me it's more Houston we have a loophole

          Pissedofftothemax! · 10/05/2017 at 13:04

Glad it's good news for someone. I've got Eddy and Pickett on my forward bench and no real cash to upgrade Houston so am looking at the likes of Black or Parsons as crappy options that they are. Can't remember a more shitstained season!

Hey it could be worse you could have Patch's side who posted an excruciating 1648 on the weekend. So there are always folks doing it harder than yourself.

1648 Geez. Remind me never to go to New Zealand. That really is a bye round score. Patch won't be happy with that

I do know what paint the fence is mate. One up, one down. Just concerned there may be a lack of rookies in the next week or 2

DacZawson · 10/05/2017 at 11:47

Would people prefer Parsons or Hampton on field this week? Of course this is depending on selection.

    Dice · 10/05/2017 at 11:51

Got a funny feeling he will bounce back this week with a 90+ score

    Zach · 10/05/2017 at 12:06

    Whoever doesn't get dropped!

      INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 12:14

      Agree with Zach

JoshA · 10/05/2017 at 11:51

Going to be bringing in a defender and a midfielder this week, got 1.1 mil for them combined, looking at the bont and kade simpson but are there any better options?

    JoshA · 10/05/2017 at 11:56

Yeo maybe an option as well to save 100k or to get doch/adams

Will · 10/05/2017 at 12:28

Beams to Martin
Otten to shaw

Leaving Hampton in the side for a week, good or bad call ?

Leaves me with not much cash left over can't afford to go Hampton to shaw

    Travo · 10/05/2017 at 13:32

A lot of coaches will be looking to move on both Otten and Hampton this week but be only able to trade out the one.
I think both with lose a small amount of value at the end of the round so not a bad call.

James · 10/05/2017 at 12:28

Rance vs simpson vs JJ vs any other sub 515k defender? unsure who to bring in

    Neville · 10/05/2017 at 12:35

Jones for value. Has had 3 tons and 2 scores in the 90s out of 7 games which is more than the majority of supposed premo defenders out there. Swans also look to be finally getting their shite together and have an excellent run to their bye. He is getting plenty of midfield opportunity and Horse loves his dash and rebound.

      Stan · 10/05/2017 at 12:43

My hats off to the savvy coaches who started him but I agree with Higgo on the podcast that you would only be locking in a $150K loss if you bring him in now. Also he is still not proven and could easily drop away late in the season as many youngsters tend to do. Lastly has a nasty round 11 bye that most coaches don't need any more. So my pick would be Rance or Tuohy as most teams only have 2 or 3 round 12 bye keepers in their sides right now.

CoachFanatic · 10/05/2017 at 12:43

I want to trade Otten and Hampton with 190k in the bank. Who should I get?

    Randomcliche · 10/05/2017 at 13:02

Scottish relative and Llyod or Jones.

      Randomcliche · 10/05/2017 at 13:03

Callum · 10/05/2017 at 12:48

Fyfe, beams, Taranto, SPP
B- fisher, Pickett, Barrett

Grundy, Sandilands
B- strandica

McRae, dalhaus, Franklin

175k remaining what trades should I do ?

    NickMacMan · 10/05/2017 at 13:08

    hampton out

    Lazza · 10/05/2017 at 13:59

Do you actually read the blogs here? or listen to the PODCAST…
Every SC coach in the land knows both Otten and Hampton should go this week… if you can only boot one it's Hampton.

This is about the 100th time this advice has been given on this website.

    whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 14:41

Should've dumped one of Otten or Hampton last week, and the other this week.

      redherringfc · 10/05/2017 at 16:48

yep, should have. And I knew it, but didnt.

Eskimo · 10/05/2017 at 13:08

Is this all the excuse we need. TBC on treloar. The cancer has been detected Adam Tumoar can be removed. Has a red injury dot on his name in SC.

    Scallywag · 10/05/2017 at 13:15

Could Treloar be any big of a SC train wreck this season? Got to say a straight swap to Dusty looks pretty attractive right now. Would improve my bye structure too.

      James · 10/05/2017 at 13:30

Not sure I'd get Dusty in just yet. Will likely cop the Blakely tag this week so probably will be less than $500K soon enough. Just hold Treloar for now unless he is confirmed missing for weeks (plural) and instead dump his ass round 13 for a Dusty, Cripps or a Gray type if he continues to give you the sh1ts.

    INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 13:16

Being sent for scans & the Pies not disclosing the problem is MAJOR cause for concern!

    hedski · 10/05/2017 at 14:49

Not overly concerned yet, I posted a few weeks back that Swallow "had the big red dots", he played that round.

      Eskimo · 10/05/2017 at 14:59

    Russty_ · 10/05/2017 at 17:04

JamBak · 10/05/2017 at 13:11

What's the better option ?
Houston -> yeo
Otten -> Lloyd
Houston -> heeney
Otten -> Simpson?

Rick Grimes · 10/05/2017 at 13:11

What are people's long term plans for Witts? Every time I think he's ripe for slaughter he tons up. I'm thinking Rd 9 will be his date with the axe, but if he goes big again on the weekend..

    Ozzie · 10/05/2017 at 13:17

I'm keeping him through his bye myself and will just take the donut hit. Too many other pressing issues like Houston out this week.

      Rick Grimes · 10/05/2017 at 13:23

Yea holding until end of byes, particularly Sandi's, would be the smart move. Witt's averaging 95 is fairly premium output this season anyways, so there shouldn't be a rush.

    INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 13:22

I was thinking the same last week Rick. Then he tonnes up again. I have Preuss at R3 who I was hoping could cover. But that's looking unlikely. Tough call on a trade vs a donut

    Swans2012 · 10/05/2017 at 13:39

I think with all the upheaval in the ruck department (I mean who really is going to be top 2) and witts continued form I'm not ready to chop him just yet.
I have an allergy to donuts so if preuss not named he'll get chopped to strndica so nank can cover. I've got a feeling preuss gets a run though the next couple, hoping anyway.

      Isaac · 10/05/2017 at 14:07

Yep Grundy is going crapola with Cox in the team and I just know the week after I bring in Stef that Fagan will give Archie Smith a run. Mumford is also too much of an injury risk, pricey and still capable of spudding it like last week. Both Sandi and Witts have been steadily accruing cash so don't see the need to move them on any time soon.

        INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 14:09

And both Av 93. Which without Goldy & Gawn going apeshit it's acceptable. And no one is screaming out pick me

        Bells E Bubb · 11/05/2017 at 12:41

I think Cox will go this week. So I plan to bring in Grundy when he bottoms out in a few.
Otherwise not in a hurry to lose Sandi or WItts as they are both as likely to score well as any other atm.

    Pablo · 10/05/2017 at 16:39

At this stage I am keeping him until at least to the end of all the byes (injury pending). He is scoring well enough to hold his place and his bye coverage over 11,12,13 is key to my strategy.

    redherringfc · 10/05/2017 at 17:06

He's been my r3 since the start and hasn't even had a run on field. I'm holding him through the byes, as he plays round 11, 12 and 13. My plan is to cull him as a late season cash grab for the cheapest ruck going.

    Russty_ · 10/05/2017 at 17:06

I'm just gonna hang onto him, he's doing ok, if it ain't broke….

The BONT · 10/05/2017 at 13:23

Im kinda happy Houston is out this week Im vsing the top guy in my leauge and he has Greene, Houston, Eddy in fowradline. Otten and Hampton who need to be traded this week. I would be happy if hampton got dropped this week as well my opponet has Stuart and Hibberd in backline.

    Jacko · 10/05/2017 at 14:13

Gee you're a ruthless bastard mate. One's man misery is another man's pleasure hey. I guess it's a zero sum game after all so if someone else loses you kinda win haha!

      James · 10/05/2017 at 14:22

That's the blunt truth about fantasy footy Jacko. Even though we pretend we are some sort of community when someone else has a struggle or misfortune we say "that's so unlucky man" when really we are secretly doing an internal fist pump and when someone else posts a monster score we will say things like "that's so awesome mate" when really we are thinking 'you lucky undeserving prick!' πŸ™‚

Rick Grimes · 10/05/2017 at 13:42

Man I wish I knew if Shaw was going to turn it up from here on out or whether this is his new level of output.

    Isaac · 10/05/2017 at 14:28

He probably aint going to get much cheaper but still hasn't demonstrated that he is a defensive 'must have' like the past two seasons. So if he appeals to you and suits your bye structure then by all means get on as it's probably a decent trade in option. However most coaches have other priorities this week like getting on Heeney, Yeo or Buddy before they sky rocket in price. Or perhaps just finding a decent rookie downgrade … that would be nice.

      whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 14:39

Heeney isn't going to skyrocket in price, and has one large score vs Brisbane.

There is also no indication Buddy is even going to have a big season, one big score vs Brisbane doesn't suddenly mean he (or Sydney for that matter) is back.

        Rick Grimes · 10/05/2017 at 15:58

It's more that if Sydney fires, Buddy will fire. He was already averaging 90 in a team losing every week. I'm not convinced Heeneys points don't get snaffled by Sydney's guns. For the record I bought Buddy last week.

          Russty_ · 10/05/2017 at 17:03

I started with Buddy, and haven't regretted it, Heeney might break out but might not…again. We all know what Buddy is capable of, huge scores when he kicks a bag, and even when he has a bad one, still scores respectably.

Could do a lot worse than getting Buddy in.

    Derek · 10/05/2017 at 18:01

i'll be getting him. his ceiling is too high to not have him in your team.

Bells E Bubb · 10/05/2017 at 13:56

Looking at post bye trading :
What is the community's thoughts on planning ahead to upgrade Sandi to Gawn when he returns?
Or do you think Gawn will be as much a risk as Sandi?
I've got Martin with Nank as cover and Strnadica as a loophole.
I know it is a wait and see as to how the RUCs pan out … but we need to plan for some eventuality.

    Derek · 10/05/2017 at 17:59

    way ahead of me mate.

Derek · 10/05/2017 at 14:04

i'll be really mad if Preuss doesn't get a game this week.

Not named he is out.

If he is named, anyone who doesn't have him, he is only $262k with a BE of 7. cash cow still ?

    INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 14:14

I'll give him till next week. Then reassess

    Heath · 10/05/2017 at 14:32

If he can't get a game this week then he won't be playing any time soon with Waite a 100% certain returner. So you may as well give him the chop this week and bank that cash as who knows what trade issues you will have to contend with next week. At least one trade will likely have to be allocated to Myers.

    neil demons delight · 10/05/2017 at 16:23

trade to STRD and bank for Pendles/// or Ebert after his bye

      Russty_ · 10/05/2017 at 17:00

Yeah I'll probably do that next week Neil, if he doesn't play this week, otherwise it's just 262k sitting on the pine doing nothing.

        INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 18:05

My plan is to send him to Darcy Cameron who should get a crack at some stage. Reopens the Nank swing & gives 140K to the bank if he isn't named

          Terry · 10/05/2017 at 18:12

Ripping idea Pieman. After all it's not like we are bereft of floating donuts on the bench this season so captain's loophole is unlikely ever to be a problem. So you may as well get a DPP guy who has at least some prospect of getting some games later in the season.

    Noirlust · 11/05/2017 at 01:05

Tom boyd. Was worth the pruess trade last week. Lets see if it turns out to be a masterstroke or flop

TBone · 10/05/2017 at 14:32

Hopefully T Stewart or Newman can squeeze back into the top 22 this weekend. Really dont want to have to buy any of the defensive downgrade options on offer. Treloar possibly missing with injury and Pendles with the child upcoming is haunting too! Cant we just get a week where everything doesnt go to complete shit already? hahaha

    Karma Bus · 10/05/2017 at 14:43

All those ass clowns who brought in Pendles last week must be loving life. Probably put the VC on him too and he didn't even ton up and now could be a late out hahaha. That's why you need to do your research people. Way too many pretenders playing Supercoach these days so good to see they are getting what they deserve. They probably started Treloar instead and now have a f#*ked up bye structure to boot lol!

      The Master · 10/05/2017 at 15:10

I am definitely on the Karma bus this year and fit the description well, Last week brought in Pendles and Parsons , put the vc on him, also have Treloar, Green and every other player that has not performed to expectations. The top 500 is just looking further and further away. Razor blades are on special at woolworths, no bugger it I think I need a holiday.

      Russty_ · 10/05/2017 at 16:57

Anyone who calls people assclowns for trading Pendles in, automatically qualifies as an assclown. Even if he does miss for me, I have cover for him, and he's a deadset keeper, any year.

      BlueNath · 10/05/2017 at 20:27

I'm always amazed how people make judgements based on a players last round score. So many people writing Parsons off! If anyone saw his first two games they would have jumped on!! One bad one and he is a dud/mistake now? I wonder how many apologies will be forthcoming if he scores a 70/80 this week?

Disillusioned · 10/05/2017 at 14:59

What's with the return of the tagger?? After last season I thought we were done with that sh!t but now's it back in vogue all of a sudden. Even Crowley didn't tag last season FFS! So you could just bring in gun mid who was going like a freight train without worrying who his direct opponent was going to be that week. However a couple of times when coaches have done that this season, most notably with Dusty in round 4 and now Sloane last weekend it's backfired abysmally because of the tag, leaving coaches paying significant overs for so far little return. It's bad enough that we have to deal with the rookie class from hell and a bye horror show after getting buttf*cked over a China game that no one really wants, other than some geniuses at AFL HQ. Worst supercoach season EVER!!!

    whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 15:01

This season is interesting. Everyone just wants an easy ride like last year with all the cheap bombers players it's kind of pathetic.

Please hang around my team Marchbank and Butler. I don't care about my plans to trade you, or cash fluctuations anymore.

Any rookie that gets a game every week will probably win my B+F.

Nick · 10/05/2017 at 15:48

Hi community,
If you had a choice of getting Yeo or Adams, who would you pick?

    Rick Grimes · 10/05/2017 at 16:02

Yep. Adam's more likely to breakdown. But both look like must haves at this stage.

      Rick Grimes · 10/05/2017 at 16:02

That was a vote for Yeo. Yep is his cousin.

    Russty_ · 10/05/2017 at 16:52

I think Adams for sure, has been a huge advantage starting with him this year, locked premo…Yeo I have to admit finally is maybe the real deal, (breakout season). Depends on which line you'd rather strengthen first really.

      Nick · 10/05/2017 at 17:20

I wld trade out WHE in fwd line and Hampton in def

    pod · 10/05/2017 at 17:23

    Adams, Yeo will fade

Joshua · 10/05/2017 at 16:16

Hampton down to Defensive rookie And Houston up to Yeo?

Hampton down to defensive rookie and Otten up to Adams?

Houston down to FWD or MID rookie and Hampton up to Adams?

Option 1,2 or 3?

    Joshua · 10/05/2017 at 16:23

I can cover Houston with Parsons btw

    Happy helper · 10/05/2017 at 16:28

    Option 4

    Liam · 10/05/2017 at 16:45

OneTouchWonder · 10/05/2017 at 16:46

Shark move of the week is to get Charlie Dixon in my team

    Russty_ · 10/05/2017 at 16:51

Why not man?….nothing's too far out of the box this year, good luck with that πŸ™‚

    Derek · 10/05/2017 at 17:25

doesn't sound like something the real OTW would do.

    pod · 10/05/2017 at 17:29

    Really? Maybe after the bye.

    INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 18:12

    Love it. Embrace death

    Eskimo · 10/05/2017 at 18:24

You know what you may be on to something. Stuff it all to hell I'm going to give the supercoach gods a big up yours I'm going for players that break all rules of sensible trades. I may even just include funny names as a priority.
I haven't gone crazy yet? No sir yes not sometimes. good point.

      Tyruddanaut · 10/05/2017 at 18:31

I'm getting Tipunguwitini or whoever from Essendon because of his name… but I'll wait until I need him

      Joshua · 10/05/2017 at 19:14

Yep, my mate has Swallow, Sexton, B. Long and Roughead

        Eskimo · 10/05/2017 at 19:40

    Tyruddanaut · 10/05/2017 at 18:30

That will either win you the game… or backfire. But hey, risks will help you win

    redherringfc · 10/05/2017 at 18:39

I am a huge fan of big Charlie and I loved having him in my team last year because it is great to watch him play footy.

The part I hated last year was the massive amounts of cash he lost before i lost faith and traded him out.

Good luck with him. I hope he continues to have a huge year, but he's in the same group as Higgins, K Kolodjashnij and Yeo for me. Never again.

    FCAbel · 10/05/2017 at 19:09

He has a massive advantage this week (not having to breath and all that).

      hedski · 10/05/2017 at 19:14

dave · 10/05/2017 at 17:10

thoughts on my team and where i should be looking at upgrading…

DEF: adams laird tuohy, hibberd marchbank, newman (stewart, hibberd)
MID: danger, titch, merret, fyfe, kennedy, treloar, hannebery, SPP (barret, myers, picket)
RUCK: martin, sandi (strnadica)
FWD: macrae, steele, nankervis, n riewoldt, higgins, taranto (balic, houston)?

**this weeks trades were hampton and WHE out, merret and myers IN

19 trades left, only 5K in bank

    Derek · 10/05/2017 at 17:23

not a bad team. no dalhause, but that will be for post byes.

no cash! and a potential donut in defense.

if newman not named you might have to hold Hampton.

you have a few semi-premiums creeping into your team, Tuohy, Hibberd, Steele, nank, Higgins. This is what we might all have to do this year

    SCathiest · 10/05/2017 at 17:38

Treloar has the red injury tag

hedski · 10/05/2017 at 17:12

Bloody Jelwood may cruel my weekend even further….ITS JUST A DICKY ANKLE JOEL SUCK IT UP SON.

    Dwayne · 10/05/2017 at 18:01

Selwood is a tough nut. He'll be right mate.

    Jarryd · 10/05/2017 at 18:20

Whoah I was so close to trading in Jelwood a fortnight ago after he went huge against the Saints. Could've run into two sub par scores and now a potential donut. I brought in Pendles last week, after everyone talked up his past scoring against the Blues, so still copping my share of bad luck. You just can't rely on any of these so called ultra premo mids this season.

    pod · 10/05/2017 at 18:38

If it was anyone else I'd be concerned.

Garry · 10/05/2017 at 17:14

What premo mid should I bring in? Have Sloane, Bont, Rocky, Danger, Ablett and Dusty.
Please give me suggestions

    Russty_ · 10/05/2017 at 17:17

Depends whether you wanna pay top dollar or go for a bargain, go for one averaging in the top 5 or 10.

    Tyruddanaut · 10/05/2017 at 18:29

    Tom Mitchell

    FCAbel · 10/05/2017 at 19:10

    Agree. Tom Mitchell.

    Lazza · 10/05/2017 at 20:27

No…. you are doing well enough on your own … but if I we're you …. Neale…

    BlueNath · 10/05/2017 at 20:46

Pickett! He will balance your premo's out nicely and create a fairer playing field from the rolled gold you have already developed

Charlezy · 10/05/2017 at 17:18

22 Trades in the bank, 323.9k as well, thinking

Hampton and Beams —> Adams and either Roberton or Laird, which sets me up for
Next week: SPP and Otten —> Rocky and Myers or another rookie

Is Roberton's price to high? Is that too many trades gone by this point? Need some ideas

Nick · 10/05/2017 at 17:39

Otten to Wiliams
Beams to Cotchin
Leaves Hampton in the side for a week

    Lazza · 10/05/2017 at 20:29

If the $s work for you I'd swap Otten and Hampton in trade order …

      Lazza · 10/05/2017 at 20:31

As I think Otten has more chance of getting near his BE

Finnius123 · 10/05/2017 at 17:43

Out of: Priddis, Shuey, Dusty, Cotchin, Ollie Wines and Gaz who do you reckon will score the most from here-on out. Looking for a midfielder to be a decent POD and carry my team through the bye rounds – and these were the candidates that I came up with. I am not convinced on any of them, but I would love to hear your thoughts community

    Derek · 10/05/2017 at 17:54

    Gaz, Priddis…. the rest

Ten Clubs to Open Doors to Multicultural Coaches http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-05-10/ten-clubs-t

Blow me down with a feather, how long will it be before the Marxist AFL introduce playing quotas a la South Africa? Perhaps the Marxist AFL should take note of what is occurring in the US with ESPN, which has suffered massive revenue falls due to people not bothering to tune in. This is a slippery slope to hell. The China game is just a little piece of the puzzle. From endorsing LGBTQ to establishing a woman's league to this – it has crept up on us but people are going to take notice eventually. Mark my words.

    WhatsaFtumch · 10/05/2017 at 18:11

and you're on a slippery slope to stupidity

      criticalunity · 10/05/2017 at 18:25

The truth is racist, hey bro?

        Ordinary Bloke · 10/05/2017 at 18:40

No mate, the truth is just. You're the racist.

    Tyruddanaut · 10/05/2017 at 18:27

To be honest there is no point bringing the coaches in if they're not good. That's where I see your points, maybe a bit too extreme, but they should look for anybody who can do the job, or encourage coaching in younger multicultural children instead. I see this in Aliir Aliir who does not play at the AFL standard that we would expect him too. He is primarily in the team because of publicity and that Sydney are "fantastic" because he is a refugee.

I may sound a bit controversial, like you, but if we are going to hire people primarily because we want to be multicultural then we should rethink. It's not a short term thing, but a long term. They should go to multicultural suburbs like Box Hill, Glen Waverly and Collingwood to inspire the children to play and strategize. It's like getting a 7 footer to be a rocket scientist, even though he was uneducated, just so they can have a tall person around the 5 footers and a bit of diversity.

Ok, you might be thinking I want them not to get jobs. That's not at all true. I would just rather have them doing jobs where they provide value. Sorry if I offended any of you by the way I just wanted to share my opinion on the topic

      Notorious mac · 10/05/2017 at 18:32

Unfortunately thats the leftist society we live in and if you have a differing opinion you are deemed a racist or a sexist. The irony is going out and seeking a multicultural person is discrimination which the AFL claim to be so against

        Ordinary Bloke · 10/05/2017 at 18:40

No mate, going out and seeking a "multicultural person" as you so eloquently put it, is about fairness.
Which the AFL quite rightly, should be about.

          Notorious mac · 10/05/2017 at 18:49

Its not fair when you are actively seeking a specific race or gender for a role wjen they are not best fit. And what i have said is not a "racist" comment which proves my point that if you dont think like a robot you are deemed racist

          criticalunity · 10/05/2017 at 18:53

Is the AFL a sporting body or a political body?

        criticalunity · 10/05/2017 at 18:54

Quite right. Political correctness will be the death of our nation.

      WhatsaFtumch · 10/05/2017 at 18:51

No Aliir Aliir is in the team because he earned his spot on talent…and if he loses his spot it's because he's not doing what the coach wants him to…he's basically only a second year player for goodness sake!
I don't see a problem with inspiring more multicultural kids to take up the game (I'm of Greek background myself – so was Lou Richards incidentally) and if multicultural coaches enable that then I'm fine with it

        Notorious mac · 10/05/2017 at 18:56

Your right. Aliir Alirr does deserve his spot due to his talent. Your missing the point. If a person no matter what race or gender deserves a role then good luck to them but to give it to a person because they are multicultural hardly seems fair

      Dnoyes · 10/05/2017 at 18:53

You have to be kidding about Aliir. He's only 22 and was fantastic for the Swans last year

      hedski · 10/05/2017 at 18:54

I reckon Aliir × 2 goes about it pretty good, awesome reader of the incoming ball, doesn't mind running off his man to have a crack.
That said I have no time for leftie/PC bullshit being shoved down everyone's throats.
      That is all.

        whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 19:11

He was really good when they bought him in late last year, reckon he will be a pretty good player.

          hedski · 10/05/2017 at 19:17

      criticalunity · 10/05/2017 at 18:54

    FCAbel · 10/05/2017 at 19:12

    OneTouchWonder · 10/05/2017 at 19:43

    What a champion totally agree!

    TOPHAWK1 · 10/05/2017 at 20:11

I normally don't get into politics but I guess you have to ask yourself, where do you draw the line with all these "do gooder" programs? How far do you take it? What's next? Don't get me wrong, I support some of the AFL initiatives rolled out over the years. Introducing a women's league for example is fantastic and I enjoy watching women play the great game. They are pretty damn good at it too.

But that Adam Goodes fiasco (Young girl singled out by Goodes on boundary for calling him names) a few years ago was political correctness gone mad and it is as prevalent (if not worse) now as it was then. And it shit-s me to be honest. I remember back in the early nineties Tony Lockett kicking a goal for the Saints against Sydney at the SCG. After he hammered home the goal he gave the grannies and grandpas behind the goal the old heave ho salute. I have never forgotten it. Bloody brilliant. Do that today, and the AFL will issue a 20K fine. Political correctness (left wing BS) has killed that "larrikin" part of our game because of the fear of upsetting some minority group.. Its a shame and its time it came back.

      whatyasmokin · 10/05/2017 at 20:18

Agree the 13 year old girl fiasco was an absolute joke.

      criticalunity · 10/05/2017 at 20:37

      That's rayciss, bro πŸ™‚

Well, your post today has had the most "replies" within a 3 hour period that I can remember. You got people talking. Good job.

This is the strategic headquarters of AFL Supercoach though! Probably not the best forum for politics.

Feel free to join the SC discussion.

Show us your Supercoach side mate! We would love to "critique" it.

Just a friendly heads-up. Eyes need to be kept wide open. There are enemies in our midst.

      Russty_ · 10/05/2017 at 23:31

Do you really enjoy watching women playing AFL though Hawker?…cause I have to admit , I don't and not because they're women, breaking tradition or whatever, it's just for me, the skills are so bad, I feel like I'm watching the bottom 2 teams of the VFL guys, or even worse, some local flog game no one cares about…hence, I can't watch it.
It's not about the politics, just the skills in that scenario for me.

      JohndJames · 10/05/2017 at 23:53

Come off it Tophawk1,I'd like to see how you would have coped if you were Goodes, the crap he got from the fans was not on,sorry but most of the ones doing it were racist. One thing I do agree about though is the players should be able to celebrate a goal however they please, just last year Bugg from Melbourne got stuck into just for putting his finger up to his lips to the Richmond fans after kicking a goal, the commentators were all over it,I thought it was funny.PS as far as the political correctness goes, not sure why the left are always singled out the right are into it as well.

    BlueNath · 10/05/2017 at 20:13

Having worked in a very multicultural IT environment, I can say that I am always amazed how different perspectives challenges my way of thinking… for the better!! Sometimes a different voice/view/opinion can a create significant paradigm shift. I think the AFL should be encouraging this

    Rocksta · 10/05/2017 at 20:49

I didn't realise we had so many Political Commentors in this Community.
What's any of this got to do with SC again?

      Spot on Rocksta

    Juzzy · 10/05/2017 at 21:09

Back to critic at the top who started all this banter.

Do the words misogynist or racist mean anything to you ? You do seem to be fond of Marxist. Do you understand the term ?

      criticalunity · 10/05/2017 at 21:32

Would you prefer I'd said 'jewish?'

        Juzzy · 10/05/2017 at 22:48

        Cheers, question answered.

    Russty_ · 10/05/2017 at 23:47

Marxism refers to the attainment of a classless society.
The AFL doesn't discriminate against certain classes of society, or encourage certain classes of society only to play the game..but that doesn't make them Marxist.
AFL players aren't selected due to their class, only if they're good enough to play the game. simple as that.
    That doesn't make them Marxists.
If anyone from whatever race, is good enough to get a game and be selected by the Coach for that week..then they will be..so why are you ranting on about Marxism?
Did you watch the movie Imperium lately?…is that what's fired up your inner Hitler?

      Juzzy · 11/05/2017 at 00:01

Finally Russty has put this eloquently to bed. Can we all get back to talking about Heath Shaw's breakeven now.

        Russty_ · 11/05/2017 at 00:09

I think he's worth bringing in this week mate, proven performer, experienced, probably won't get any cheaper. I think everyone will have wished they'd brought him in by season's end.

      criticalunity · 11/05/2017 at 13:11

Marxism, Cultural Marxism to be exact, promotes race as a social construct, which it most certainly is not. Marx never made a moral claim EVER! If you can find me one, leave a link. The Frankfurt School took up where Marx left off – to the point where Marxism is now the exclusive domain of capitalist universities. The irony in that is staggering. All these anti-moral anti-social positions, and pro- (insert the movement, e.g. feminist) positions are the brainchild of these Christ-hating, white-hating jews. So don't tell me what it is and what it isn't.

        donn17984 · 12/05/2017 at 09:47

I can't sleep without one more potshot.

    a) please google "Markxism". I don't think you understand it.

    b) .. and most importantly… stop fu**ing with my footy. I come her to get away from this s*it.

Best of luck to your team.

      criticalunity · 11/05/2017 at 13:40

      You too, bro.

      We all need our distractions.

Having studied this 's*it' for many years now, I think I know exactly what it means.

I might have said Cultural Marxist AFL instead, but I took it for granted that people would understand the intent.

Brudda Boi · 10/05/2017 at 18:17

Hey everyone, the team has been struggling as of late and I'm looking to turn it around.

DEF: Doc, Laird, Tuohy, Otten, Hampton, Newman (stewart and EVW)
MID: Bont, Danger, Pendles, Treloar, Fyfe, Hanners, Adams, SPP (Hibberd, Pickett, Barrett)
RUCK: Nank, Grundy (Preuss)
FWD: Dahl, Macrae, Buddy, Taranto, Butler, Hanann (Parsons and Eddy)

This week I was thinking of going…
Hampton>Myers (via Hibberd)
Otten>Dusty/Cripps (via Adams)
Doing these 2 trades will leave me 22 left and 88k in the bank.

Just wondering if I should be looking at another approach. Thanks everyone.

    INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 18:46

I think pivoting Adams back to help your defence is crucial. I'm probably pulling a similar move. I'd actually pick Cripps over Dusty given Dusty is carrying a groin problem

Ja191 · 10/05/2017 at 18:20

next week rocky, jelwood or zerret?

    Panic Stations · 10/05/2017 at 18:27

Personally I'm now in cash saving mode given that our fresh cash cow stocks are reaching DEFCON 1 levels. So not buying any bastard over $550K across any line whether they be a Bont, Rocky, Doch, Macrae or Mummy. Seeking out value is paramount more than ever now. You need to make every dollar count.

      INPieman · 10/05/2017 at 18:38

Agreed Panic. You need to be making purchases sub 500k if possible. Might not be those you really want but such is the lay of the land

        Don't Blush Baby · 10/05/2017 at 18:58

Yeah, traded Beams to Steven 495k last week, whilst he punched out 120 I would not have done that in previous years, hope he keeps it up.

Rocky and Jelwood overpriced with high BE's. Jelwood moaning with an ankle problem too.

Exactly Pod. We've had a few racial commenters drop in recently

criticalunity · 10/05/2017 at 18:51

Think long term. Will you bother playing SC when the Marxist AFL enforces quotas on clubs? That's where all of this is going. DIEversity is chasing the last white man out of his own country, and when he opposes his own genocide, he is immediately deemed a racist. Look at Europe. That's the blueprint for Australia.

    WhatsaFtumch · 10/05/2017 at 19:02

Houston out for two weeks at least now, maybe him and Beams, ya might drop a couple bucks on Otten/Curtley but they are playing?

Garry · 10/05/2017 at 19:42

Who's the best pick out of Tom Mitchell, Zach Merrett and Scott Pendlebury?

    pod · 10/05/2017 at 19:50

    Pendles then Zerrett

    BlueNath · 10/05/2017 at 19:58

Merrett! Pendles just isn't hitting the highs enough. I'm confident Merrett will avg more from here on in. Plus, Pendles is part of the round 11 bye headache a lot of us have, making Merritt (typically) more bye friendly – an important consideration now

      Garry · 10/05/2017 at 20:05

      Cheers boys really appreciate!

      Finnius123 · 10/05/2017 at 21:26

Pendles and Zerrett have the same bye

Jono · 10/05/2017 at 19:49

Shaw v Lloyd v Rance v Hurley???

    BlueNath · 10/05/2017 at 20:02

Personally, I think Rance will come home strong. Looking like he is back based on last weeks game. I don't think the others can go well past their current price point like Rance can.

    Swans2012 · 10/05/2017 at 20:04

Shaw, proven, will score 90's and blow out a couple of banging 140+'s by season end like he always does

    pod · 10/05/2017 at 20:07

    Rance is a gun

    hedski · 10/05/2017 at 20:08

Shaw at $490k is a bargain, will get him in this week if the carnage allows.

    BlueNath · 10/05/2017 at 20:20

I hope Shaw proves me wrong, but I'm not convinced this year. Either way, his scores mean he isn't going to jump in price any time soon. So it's safer to wait and see until the GWS bye. Definitely not a must have this week. And don't forget about Z Jones at this price point… he seems to have licence to roam free off the back line and break lines.

    TOPHAWK1 · 10/05/2017 at 20:41

I normally do not select old blokes into my team, but at $482K I traded Heath Shaw in last week.

At $490K this week, he is still a bargain. Jump on Heath Shaw NOW. Just my take. Cheers

hedski · 10/05/2017 at 20:17

Where the hell is Lekdogs undiscriminating, red is red, orange is orange, green is green bloody cheat sheet?????

    TOPHAWK1 · 10/05/2017 at 20:27

And BVC's rookie scout report? Not happy Jan!

      hedski · 10/05/2017 at 20:48

      Rookie report was there Toppa

        TOPHAWK1 · 10/05/2017 at 21:01

Damn. I see it. I stand corrected.

        Sorry BVC! Never in doubt.

    Patty Mills · 10/05/2017 at 20:36

Watching too much of me in the NBA playoffs probably.

    INPieman · 11/05/2017 at 08:02

This week has really dragged on!

DavidSA · 10/05/2017 at 21:05

Man getting quiet tonight with posters ect
I think 100'S of supercoachers are throwing the white towel in tbh

    TOPHAWK1 · 10/05/2017 at 21:19

    Captain Risky · 10/05/2017 at 21:32

Not much to do until teams are out tomorrow. There's only so many times you can trade and reverse.

It's an interesting season at least..

SF4 · 10/05/2017 at 21:06

What order would you put these blokes in. (as trade in options)
Dusty, Cripps, Yeo and JPK.

    DavidSA · 10/05/2017 at 21:12

    Yeo, Dusty, Yeo, JPK

      DavidSA · 10/05/2017 at 21:12

      And Yeo

    BlueNath · 10/05/2017 at 21:19

I'm actually struggling with this! All could explode from here on. SC history/logic would suggest JPK, Dusty, Cripps, Yeo. But this doesn't seem to be your typical SC season. My gut tells me Dusty, Yeo, Cripps then JPK. But my guts feelings have been wrong all season πŸ™

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 10/05/2017 at 21:33

    Hows you byes look?

Two rd 11, two rd 12.

      SF4 · 10/05/2017 at 21:58

      Rd 11- Bont and Hanners
      Rd 12- Danger
Rd 13- Fyfe, Pendles and Treloar.

Dusty would fit my bye structure well, but yeo would help my fwd line which has Buddy, Dahl and Macrae all out in Rd 12.

        SF4 · 10/05/2017 at 22:02

Sorry, Buddy, Dahl and Macrae will be out in Rd 11. Atm I also have Adams in my midfield and I will be swapping him back into the backline after bringing one of these guys in.

Tom McV · 10/05/2017 at 21:10

Hurley v Lloyd v Shaw.

Seriously considering Hurley over the other two due to POD factor.

    DavidSA · 10/05/2017 at 21:13

Nothing to lose mate, 'tis a crazy season'

    hedski · 10/05/2017 at 21:49

I'd reverse your order Tom, Shaw first.

Andrew · 10/05/2017 at 21:13

180kish – Frustrated supercoacher looking to salvage from the wreckage.
Midfield Bench says it all!
What are my best two trades this week to stay in the game
May need to use some DPP to get creative. All trade to options welcome
Adams, Shaw, Tuohy, Otten, Hampton, Marchbank (Newmann, Hibberd)
Danger, Pendles, Fyfe, JPK, Pepper, Barrett, Taranto, Balik (Beams, O'Meara, Swallow)
Martin, Sandi (Strnadica)
Nank, Buddy, Roughy, Dahl, Macrae, Butler (Eddy, Parsons)

    Finnius123 · 10/05/2017 at 21:24

Swallow and beams for Bont and David Myers – you have been too conservative with your trades and are now behind

    Randomcliche2 · 10/05/2017 at 23:03

how much cash? Yeo is probably the pick this week for mine (Butler/O'meara depending on how long out for). Otten/Hampton to Scottish relative if named. If double up, consider Lloyd.

      Andrew · 11/05/2017 at 09:19

I have about 180k. Not ideal. I think O'Meara needs to be top priority? Swallow not travelling to China and Beams not sure on estimated time of return. In that case won't quite get me to a Yeo type this week. Unless i make a downgrade. or get clever with another plan, DPP? Any trade to options most welcome. Gotta love Supercoach.

        Randomcliche2 · 11/05/2017 at 11:06

Okay, so 180k was $ not rank, that is good! Yep, I do love Supercoach.

Lets address that Mid bench. Beams 1wk, hold. Swallow 2 wks hold, will be good for byes. O'meara indefinite, but I think probably rnd 11, in time for byes or cull him then if not playing. Or cull next week as part of a double down to Scheer+Myers if we get more info and its not good.

I think your two biggest priorities are in defense. Hampton and Otten, those 3 above don't lose cash, these two pricks (sorry reliable loyal servants) do.

Rnd 11 bye is looking tricky in places. So pick one of McGovern/Rance (rnd 12 bye) and McNiece/Berry and get those crows off your SC field. But, that misses the best buy of the week.

If you do want Yeo, Hampton to Berry/McNiece and Butler to Yeo, who is probably the pick of the week screaming buy me, I'm performing well, I've got a great bye, I am a great buy! This should allow you some good loopholing in mids by swinging him in there this week for balic and loooping both fwd and mid. This is what I would do! Good luck.

Northerner · 10/05/2017 at 21:16

When's Bill Shorten on the bubble?!

    Juzzy · 10/05/2017 at 22:52

Might be a while. I think Trump started Turnbull at M1 πŸ™‚

    Browncow · 11/05/2017 at 01:27

Like David Myers may as well pick him up now Northerner. No options in Canberra or Supercoach at the moment.

Goat · 10/05/2017 at 22:27

Steve · 10/05/2017 at 22:40

Cotch, Priddis or Shuey?

Andrew · 10/05/2017 at 23:22

Will be trading Houston to Heeney or Franklin
Kept Beams and I will be looking to trade in Pendles but who knows what will happen with that baby on the way
Do i wait a round to trade in Pendles and trade Otten to Lloyd instead?

    Juzzy · 11/05/2017 at 00:09

I would have a serious look at your round 11 byes.

    Heeney, Franklin and Lloyd out.

If you are cruising in rnd 11 get on the swannies.

I have had Pendles since the start but maybe wait and see with him.

Deeboss · 10/05/2017 at 23:33

Bont, Ablett or Zerrett…. who should I bring in this week?

    Lazza · 10/05/2017 at 23:35

Bont… Ablett has a BYE next week..

    Russty_ · 11/05/2017 at 00:03

    Get the BONT…………………………………………..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hixon666 · 11/05/2017 at 00:12

Been giving me nightmares but i think i have my trades

Parfit to K simpson via fancy dpp work

Pickett into Heeney
Leave's me broke but hoping SPP down to Myers next week will put 150 K back in the back when power have there bye

    Russty_ · 11/05/2017 at 00:14

Parfitt and Pickett gone and Simmo and Heeney in sounds like a very good thing to me Hixon, don't worry about the money for now, you've strengthened your team with two good players, for two shitsacks.

    INPieman · 11/05/2017 at 07:42

As long as that works for your bye structure I think they are great trades

    neil demons delight · 11/05/2017 at 07:57

sounds a great trade parfitt/pickett useless Balic taking pickets DPP renders him obsolete

Ja191 · 11/05/2017 at 06:54

Beams to Zerrett or zorko?

    pod · 11/05/2017 at 07:16

    neil demons delight · 11/05/2017 at 07:59

Joshua · 11/05/2017 at 08:04

Can go Houston all the way to Adams if I trade Hampton out for berry and work some DPP magic. Or can go down to Mcniece and up to Yeo. Thoughts? Will probably have to hold Otten for one more week

    pod · 11/05/2017 at 08:11

Adams all day ahead of Yeo

      Joshua · 11/05/2017 at 08:22

Will almost be forced to if Mcniece doesn't come back in which is very likely to happen. What about the wells factor?

Krazee-Eyez Killa · 11/05/2017 at 08:38

in a bit of a pickle. Wanting to bring in Pendles and Danger over the next 2 weeks, but with Pendles having a kid and possibly missing this week, and Danger with a high break even, not exactly sure what I'm going to do. I also don't really want to wait and not bring in a premo or two this week.

    Lazza · 11/05/2017 at 10:17

I think you will find Pendles will only miss a game if Alex goes into labour on the day of the game …… 1 in 7 chance.
Given recent SC events, it will be our bloody luck bubs will drop another one on us SCs… and baby poo is the worst …

Rick Grimes · 11/05/2017 at 09:07

I'm already on tenderhooks waiting for the team announcements. I'd give away my first born for Newman to be named (well not really, but you get my drift).

    Derek · 11/05/2017 at 10:12

i'm on high alert regards Selwood and Treloar, and Preuss.

      Rick Grimes · 11/05/2017 at 14:20

Trelar out might be a blessing. The guy is giving us rookie output most weeks and causing a lot of unnecessary underpant washing.

Ken · 11/05/2017 at 09:09

Thoughts on Alex Rance?

    Derek · 11/05/2017 at 10:13

yep. in my best 6 defenders. love his round 12 bye. thinking about getting him this week or next

      Rick Grimes · 11/05/2017 at 14:22

Between him and Shaw this week, Got Simpson last week. Getting all 3 under $500k is crazy value – if they play to historical levels.

    Rex · 12/05/2017 at 02:15

Love his luscious locks. That is one hunk of humanity I'd seriously consider switching to the other side for. Jock knows what I'm talking about you big bullocking brumby!

Rivo · 11/05/2017 at 09:25

I feel carnage brewing on the selection tables today. Time for calm community.

May Pendles missus hold off another day or 2, may Treloar get the jab to play, and may the SC Gods smile on us for a change.

Top Gun · 11/05/2017 at 18:29

Think Pendles wife needs to come with him to Sydney. Pies doctors can help

Top Gun · 11/05/2017 at 18:44

FURL strikes again. Balic out!

lok · 11/05/2017 at 19:26

Hampton -> Melican, Berry or Myers?

    Freddie frog · 11/05/2017 at 20:10

Berry. He is named as ruck rover. If Myers better Han last week get him the following week. I have my doubts about Myers but if he goes ok I will get him like many others.

      Dean · 11/05/2017 at 20:45

A Freedie frog will shit more then the cash Berry will make. He is crap. Roll the dice with Myers before bringing in Berry ffs.

Dean · 11/05/2017 at 20:37

Not sure what to do now, I wanted to go Hampton to Yeo via DPP (McGrath) then Houston to Heeney but im $100 short, so do I just bite the bullet and trade out Otten rather then Hampton or not community – feedback appreciated?

Russty_ · 11/05/2017 at 22:37

yeah I reckon Dean, Otten is probably maxed out now with a B/E of 91.

Peter Demetriou · 11/05/2017 at 23:25

Team: 19 Trades – $18.5k
DEF – Laird, Shaw, Rance, Otten, Hampton, Marchbank (Newman) (Stewart)
MID – Dangerfield, Pendlebury, T.Mitchell, Fyfe, Kennedy, Hannebery, Beams, Powell-Pepper (Balic) Barrett) (Fisher)
RUC- Sandilands, Witts (Preuss)
FOR- Dahlaus, Macrae, Steel, Roughead, Nankervis, Butler (Hannan) (Parsons)

I really want to go Hampton – T.Adams but need to downgrade to do so,
The only way i can get cash is going Otten – McNeice who isn't playing [have Newman and steward on field, who both have shakey security]
Or go beams to Myers a week early. [better bye structure, get to carry a playing player through the byes in Otten]

Someone please help me out and possibly spot any other options?

    Dean · 12/05/2017 at 17:27

Trade Beams to Myers, then trade Hampton to Adams mate. No point bringing in McNeice when he hasn't been named the past two weeks. At least with Myers you know his JS seems fairly solid.

Then put the Emergency on Barrett and put Myers & Pepper in your best 22 – if Barrett scores well 65+ then take Myers off field and put Balic on field so you get Barrett's score if he scores well.

Don't hold on to Beams he will be out longer then they are letting on and this should give you around $125k in the kitty for next trades.

Jordy · 11/05/2017 at 23:59

otten and houston for doch and heeney (21k left)

hampton for doch and save a trade (110k left)

any suggestions for a player rather than heeney and around the same price as him?

    dSaSPatSfcB · 12/05/2017 at 03:07

Its either Buddy or Heeney this week mate and you can't go wrong with either option. I'd personally go option one but Hampton has to go as well. I got rid of him last week but both he and Otten will probably play a blinder this week against my Demons. Cheers.

    Dean · 12/05/2017 at 17:34

Go option 1 – its a no brainier having Docherty & Heeney – Although I would select a cheaper option in defence for now even though Docherty is killing it in defence but id wait until his bye round is over before spending that kind of cash now prior to his bye.

I'm bringing in heeney also this week.

dSaSPatSfcB · 12/05/2017 at 02:58

Beams-Treloar 4 Zerrett+Titch
Beams-Otten 4 Zerrett/Titch+T.Adams
Beams-Butler 4 Zerrett/Titch+Buddy/Heeney
Should I go option 1,2 or 3 for this weeks trades.
Also could you please up the podcasts to hour
episodes. Thanks again.

Boris · 12/05/2017 at 08:52

Option 1:
Houston/Butler + Hampton out = Adams + Mutimer/Myers in.

Option 2:
Houston/Butler + Hampton out = Yeo + O'Connor/McNiece in.

    Rabbits17 · 12/05/2017 at 11:31

either one but get houston out hes not playing this week or next

    Dean · 12/05/2017 at 17:36

bring in myers before mutimer mate

donn17984 · 12/05/2017 at 09:00

When do Port and Syd release their final teams

donn17984 · 12/05/2017 at 11:28

Will Hartlett and P. Powell Play ?

Dean · 12/05/2017 at 17:41

I am gutted, really wanted to go Hampton to Yeo via DPP and Houston to Heeney but fell $100 short, so now I have to trade Ottens and hold onto Hampton for one more week ffs.

Am I missing anyone that is cheaper then Yeo or Heeney and is a must have this week community?

Dean · 12/05/2017 at 19:24

Who would you bring in out of the following players – JJK, Franklin or Heeney?

Already have Dahlhaus, Macrae, Lynch & Yeo
