Supercoach RD7 : Rookie Scout Report

Published by Barron Von Crow on

Howdy folks, I’m Barron Von Crow and this is the Round 6 rookie scouting report. Round 5 was a hell of an up and down ride for many, with several premo picks putting up scores like they were back in their rookie seasons!

We can only take these things one week at a time though, and our focus here today will be back towards our rookie players, some who have started to peak, others who may be getting ready to say their farewells to our teams for the rest of the year. So lets go take a look and see what the rookies are offering.

GWS VS Western Bulldogs

Tim Taranto

MID/FWD | SC Price: $272,100

Round 6 Stats: 20 disposals, 4 marks, 7 tackles, 86 SCPoints, 82 CKPoints

Matthew Kennedy

FWD | SC Price: $276,700

Round 6 Stats: 13 disposals, 1 mark, 6 tackles, 54 SCPoints, 56 CKPoints

Tim Taranto added some life to his first year in Supercoach, knocking up a career high score, one that knocks his BE back down to 14 for this week. Even if he goes back to scoring in the 60’s, that at least buys him 2-3 more weeks of cash generation and will hopefully, pop him over the $350K mark when it’s time for bye round upgrades.

Hawthorn VS St Kilda

Ryan Burton

DEF/FWD | SC Price: $347,700

Round 6 Stats: 16 disposals, 4 marks, 3 tackles, 66 SCPoints, 69 CKPoints

Blake Hardwick

FWD | SC Price: $191,000

Round 6 Stats: 20 disposals, 8 marks, 1 tackle, 77 SCPoints, 79 CKPoints

As long as the Hawks keep losing, you’d think both Blake Hardwick and Ryan Burton will keep their spots in this side. Blake had his first price rise for the year, earning $56.1K. He’s still under 200K for one more week, so it may be your last chance to bring him in if you desperately need a FWD option to bring in this week.

Carlton VS Sydney

Caleb Marchbank

DEF | SC Price: $329,800

Round 6 Stats: 21 disposals, 10 marks, 4 inside 50’s, 69 SCPoints, 89 CKPoints

Tom Williamson

DEF | SC Price: $219,200

Round 6 Stats: 18 disposals, 4 marks, 3 tackles, 72 SCPoints, 71 CKPoints

Sam Petrevski-Seton

MID | SC Price: $298,700

Round 6 Stats: 20 disposals, 6 marks, 1 goal, 78 SCPoints, 77 CKPoints

Zac Fisher

MID | SC Price: $157,900

Round 6 Stats: 11 disposals, 1 mark, 2 tackles, 35 SCPoints, 40 CKPoints

Nic Newman

DEF | SC Price: $261,400

Round 6 Stats: 19 disposals, 4 marks, 2 tackles, 59 SCPoints, 66 CKPoints

Lewis Melican

DEF | SC Price: $123,900

Round 6 Stats: 11 disposals, 3 marks, 2 tackles, 54 SCPoints, 39 CKPoints

Brandon Jack

MID/FWD | SC Price: $182,400

Round 6 Stats: 9 disposals, 3 marks, 5 tackles, 42 SCPoints, 47 CKPoints

Will Hayward

FWD | SC Price: $197,200

Round 6 Stats: 7 disposals, 2 marks, 6 tackles, 2 goals, 47 SCPoints, 60 CKPoints

Caleb Marchbank found plenty of the ball, but only had 1 contested possession and no contested marks, as well as 4 turnovers, which probably makes up the 20 point difference between Supercoach and CoachKings. His BE is 49 and his 3 round average sits at 73 SCPoints, so he’ll still have some life left in him yet.

Nic Newman wasn’t able to continue on his form from Rounds 2-4, producing a score that was probably similar to Marchbank in that he only had 3 contested possessions, as well as 5 turnovers, which will always hurt a SC score, especially for someone like Newman who kicks more than he handballs.

Brandon Jack made his 2017 debut, but wasn’t able to produce the sort of stats he does in the NEALF (currently averaging 31 disposals, 7 marks and 3 tackles at state league level). He played 10 games in 2015 and only averaged 13 disposals, so it remains to be seen if he can generate enough offense to put up a useful score yet.

Brisbane VS Port Adelaide

Jarrod Berry

DEF/MID | SC Price: $147,900

Round 6 Stats: 16 disposals, 1 mark, 7 tackle, 62 SCPoints, 68 CKPoints

Hugh McCluggage

MID/FWD | SC Price: $213,100

Round 6 Stats: 7 disposals, 3 marks, 19 SCPoints, 17 CKPoints

Sam Powell-Pepper

DEF | SC Price: $258,700

Round 6 Stats: 25 disposals, 2 marks, 6 inside 50’s, 2 goals, 97 SCPoints, 78 CKPoints

Dan Houston

FWD | SC Price: $282,200

Round 6 Stats: 14 disposals, 2 marks, 1 tackle, 51 SCPoints, 44 CKPoints

Sam Powell-Pepper decided to come alive just as people were starting to think about moving him on, hitting a (short) career high and pumping his BE back down to 0, something that should hopefully see him add another $75K+ to his price over the coming weeks.

Dan Houston had a bad game, but he’s been pretty solid prior to last week, so we can forgive him for that, while Jarrod Berry finally produced an OK score, if he can keep it up he could be a desperate trade in option since he’s still sitting at $147K.

West Coast VS Fremantle

Kurt Mutimer

MID | SC Price: $123,900

Round 6 Stats: 7 disposals, 3 marks, 4 tackles, 23 SCPoints, 40 CKPoints

Nathan Vardy

RUC | SC Price: $265,600

Round 6 Stats: 5 disposals, 2 marks, 8 hitouts, 21 SCPoints, 35 CKPoints

Griffin Logue

DEF| SC Price: $173,600

Round 6 Stats: 5 disposals, 1 mark, 1 tackle, 17 SCPoints, 13 CKPoints

Harley Balic

MID/FWD | SC Price: $175,700

Round 6 Stats: 19 disposals, 6 marks, 1 goal, 4 tackles, 78 SCPoints, 91 CKPoints

Cam McCarthy

FWD | SC Price: $311,500

Round 6 Stats: 11 disposals, 3 marks, 3 goals, 78 SCPoints, 58 CKPoints

Harley Balic looked like a win for anyone who traded him in last week, producing a pretty good score. His BE is -48 this week, so might be your last chance to bring him in as he’ll likely jump up a good amount next week.

Kurt Mutimer played his first AFL game las t week, but didn’t really do anything to stand out, while Griffin Logue can probably be safely slotted into the “don’t bother” draw.

North Melbourne VS Gold Coast

Ed Vickers-Willis

DEF | SC Price: $123,900

Round 6 Stats: 14 disposals, 3 marks, 2 tackles, 58 SCPoints, 47 CKPoints

Jy Simpkin

FWD | SC Price: $228,100

Round 6 Stats: 8 disposals, 3 marks, 1 goal, 2 tackles, 28 SCPoints, 43 CKPoints

Kayne Turner

FWD | SC Price: $241,600

Round 6 Stats: 16 disposals, 8 marks, 1 goal, 61 SCPoints, 85 CKPoints

Jarrod Witts

RUC | SC Price: $391,300

Round 6 Stats: 8 disposals, 4 tackles, 34 hitouts, 73 SCPoints, 61 CKPoints

Jack Bowes

MID/FWD | SC Price: $243,900

Round 6 Stats: 21 disposals, 5 marks, 1 goal, 55 SCPoints, 71 CKPoints

Jarrod Witts bested Todd Goldstein in the hitout count, but obviously didn’t get the better of him in the hitout to advantage count, producing his lowest score of the year. Still hasn’t peaked in price yet though, so as long as he can get back to scoring 90+ then he can be kept around for a while longer.

Jack Bowes found the pill a decent amount, but only had 4 contested possessions and 5 turnovers. Jy Simpkin had a quiet game after it looked like he was going on a run of some nice form and Ed Vickers-Willis is on the bubble this week, but hasn’t shown he’s a must have yet.

Essendon VS Melbourne

Andrew McGrath

DEF/MID| SC Price: $350,700

Round 6 Stats: 23 disposals, 6 marks, 3 tackles, 1 goal, 89 SCPoints, 99 CKPoints

Ben McNiece

DEF | SC Price: $102,400

Round 6 Stats: 14 disposals, 2 marks, 2 tackles, 48 SCPoints, 50 CKPoints

Mitch Hannan

FWD | SC Price: $185,800

Round 6 Stats: 14 disposals, 5 marks, 3 goals, 53 SCPoints, 83 CKPoints

Jay Kennedy-Haris

FWD | SC Price: $151,000

Round 6 Stats: 11 disposals, 2 marks, 1 tackle, 42 SCPoints, 27 CKPoints

Andrew McGrath continues to get better and has well and truly justified his higher starting price. His BE is 35, but if he can keep up this level of scoring, he could top $400K.

Ben McNiece had a similar game to his first, while Mitch Hannan was probably a bit disappointing with his score, producing just 53 SCPoints after kicking 3 goals, which can probably be attributed to having 5 turnovers from his 14 disposals.

Geelong VS Collingwood

Tom Stewart

DEF | SC Price: $225,900

Round 6 Stats: 16 disposals, 5 marks, 68 SCPoints, 56 CKPoints

Brandon Parfitt

MID/FWD | SC Price: $243,500

Round 6 Stats: 14 disposals, 1 mark, 1 goal, 41 SCPoints, 44 CKPoints

Aaron Black

FWD | SC Price: $137,100

Round 6 Stats: 12 disposals, 5 marks, 2 tackles, 48 SCPoints, 56 CKPoints

Will Hoskin-Elliot

FWD | SC Price: $350,500

Round 6 Stats: 26 disposals, 9 marks, 1 goal, 125 SCPoints, 100 CKPoints

Tim Broomhead

FWD | SC Price: $291,200

Round 6 Stats: 14 disposals, 5 marks, 1 goal, 61 SCPoints, 62 CKPoints

Will Hoskin-Elliot looked like he might have peaked, but proved everyone wrong by putting up a huge score of 125 and pushing his BE back down to 30. The Pies have some easier games coming up, taking on Carlton, Brisbane and Hawthorn over the next month, so he might be worth keeping through that period.

Aaron Black couldn’t back up his first weeks score as expected, but if you need a FWD downgrade option, he might be the best one available.

Adelaide VS Richmond

Andy Otten

DEF | SC Price: $370,000

Round 6 Stats: 14 disposals, 6 marks, 1 goal, 11 hitouts, 61 SCPoints, 88 CKPoints

Curtly Hampton

DEF | SC Price: $298,200

Round 6 Stats: 14 disposals, 6 marks, 2 tackles, 41 SCPoints, 48 CKPoints

Jake Kelly

DEF | SC Price: $241,600

Round 6 Stats: 28 disposals, 10 marks, 1 tackle, 104 SCPoints, 99 CKPoints

Daniel Butler

FWD | SC Price: $280,100

Round 6 Stats: 9 disposals, 1 mark, 5 tackles, 1 goal, 54 SCPoints, 50 CKPoints

Both Andy Otten and Curtly Hampton struggled to back up their previous scores, but still have a bit of life in them yet. Otten probably struggled a bit more since he had Josh Jenkins back in the forward line with him, but we probably would have hoped he could have dominated the ruck a bit more since he mostly took on Shaun Grigg!

Jake Kelly had a career best game, but you can’t expect that sort of thing from him most weeks and Dan Butler was OK, but like a lot of Tigers, he struggled for periods. His BE is 47 and his 3 round average sits at 60, so his time might almost be up unless he can produce a really good game in the next fortnight.

Normally we wouldn’t want to be cashing in our rookie picks this early in the season, but the absolute suckage we’ve gotten from some may have brought this process forward just a tad. While for the most of them there’s still a few more weeks to go, there will be a few guys where we may soon have to think about moving them on.

There are some cows getting ready for the sacrificial slaughter! Get the steak knives ready people.

Andrew Yacos

Agreed, I started last round, delish.

I actually think keeping the Crows as long as possible is a better move. Hampton and Otten still have good JS atm and have a round 13 bye. Simpson, Hibberd, Montagna and Roberton are perfect trade in's for them.

Raging Bulls

Round 13!?? A patient man is you Dom! I can grow another calf to cow in that time Brother…

Indeed I am, my reasoning being pretty simple. I'm super short of round 11 players and Ill looking to upgrade the rest of my team first. My back line is the only reason I'm in the top couple %. Laird, Doc, Adams and the rookies have been huge.

That's fine if they're on your bench. But if you're currently starting the likes of Otten, Hampton, Butler and Co, i'm not so confident in replacing them in the starting 22 with EVW, Melican, McNiece etc.

It's a tough one. Cash in, and risk having to start a 50 average player that may even get dropped the following week. Or hold.

Planned to go up to Kade Simpson and Buddy this week. But forward rookies are so bad. So hoping Parsons gets a game. He can come in for Parfitt and I'll ride with three rooks on field for another fortnight.

No mention of Lewis Melican?

DEF. go up to hibberd/shaw or down to mcneice/melican?

then go big next week

It what order would you rate the 3 bubble boy defs? EVW, McNeice & Melican in terms of job secruity?

EVW, Melican, McNeice extremely hard to split the 3 tho

Don't like any of them to be honest Simo.

Can't trust Brad Scott giving the kids a decent run. Loves to bring them in for a week or two, then out.

After Horse dropping Newman out of thin air, can't trust him either with Melican.

McNiece don't know much about him. Doesn't appear to be a high scorer. Did watch the first half of Essendon v Melbourne on the weekend, and to be honest he didn't really stand out.

Unless your team has ridiculous bench depth, e.g. Both Hampton and Stewart on the pine. Then i'd pass on the DEF bubble boys.

Cheers mate, yeah I do have that exact bench cover, so might pull the trigger to make some coin.

Mcneice, Melican & EVW in that order.

Do I trade Marchbank or Roughead (through DPP) out this week for Shaw?

If your holding Rough or JOM get rid of them immediately

Getting rid of Parfitt, could he go down to Balic instead of Parsons, or Black. Hopefully balic can avg 10+ points than the Geelong pair and also I feel Free will play Balic more than Parsons and black. Also balic has DPP and allows me to swing Taranto into mid so makes it easier when comes to upgrading or culling rookies.

If you didn't get Balic last week you've missed the boat & his biggest price rise. Get Parsons if selected

I'm doing 2 upgrades this week, will next week be too late to get Parsons if he plays this week Pieman?

Yes mate. You don't grab a rookie after a price rise. The first price rise is always the biggest. Paint the fence this week (one up one down) & do your 2 upgrades next week. There's nothing on the rookie radar on the bubble next week that I can see worth picking up

Contrary to many i don't mind the idea of paying the extra for Balic this week. Likely to do it myself, as i traded in Hardwick last week. Not big on the 2 game bubble boys this week, Parsons the best of a bad bunch if forced.

Plenty would've pulled the trigger on the likes of WHE and/or SPP. I think if you held both, then paying extra for Balic can be offset by the extra you will generate from those two aforementioned rooks.

thoughts on my team! i have used my 2 trades this week!

Without spaces no one on a mobile can read it! Pi$$ caps lock off whIle you are fixing it.

Thanks again BVC, hopefully Eddy gets a gig this week need to fatten him up a bit.
Do you think Barrett will need a run in the neafl to get some match fitness after being emergency last two weeks? Cheers.

Barrett is due fro a recall, when he has played in reserves he has stood out and with Brisbane copping another belting I could see Chris Fagan dropping some of the weaker young players and replacing them with barrett. Not sure what else Eddy can do if he doesn't get a gig, however who would he come in for

Problem for Eddy is the lack of injuries Port has. Pretty sure Boak is the only one missing & he's listed as a test. He's doing well just to make the emergency list. It's crazy Port has no injuries. Even the dead man himself Charlie Dxon is up & about & posting some of the best posthumous numbers ever seen

Thanks fellas we can only hope.

Although Eddy has put in great performances Port had a fantastic win, who would he replace?

Awesome BVC. Luke Ryan! He's back. Let's hope he gets a crack soon. If he doesn't I'll be paying Ross a visit. Brad Scheer. like his numbers. He'd be handy through the byes if he gets a chance. I'm hoping Preuss get's a recall on those numbers. The man is a beast

The Ranger

Dear SC Gods,
It would appear that something I have done has offended you deeply so I'm just writing to express my sincere apologies.
After failing to top 1900 pts last week and having had my GnR strategy shot to bloody pieces by the mid price madness brigade I may recently have called you a bunch of one-eyed, self indulgent, vindictive c#*ts but I assure you it was purely in jest and I do actually think you do a wonderful job and I'm very appreciative of your ongoing goodwill and forbearance.
Yours fearfully,
The Ranger
PS If you could possibly arrange for Darcy Cameron to debut this week that would be much appreciated as I have no ruck cover for the Nank and really don't want to pay overs for Mummy/Stef or waste a trade on any other ruck.

You'll need me as a consultant for that trip Baron. I'm planning to waste Preuss for Cameron at some point so I do have some buy in for this project. I'll need to drive up as the airlines don't seem to like to my weapons on board

The Ranger

While you're up there could you just put a little bit of a scare onto the Swans mids too Pieman?
Opting for Hanners and Kennedy over Selwood and Rocky hasn't really worked out for me.
Thanks in advance.

Can do Ranger. I picked up Hanners 2 weeks ago & stuffed a can down his throat. 2 tonnes later he's looking ok. At least Rocky laid a monster turd last week

Berry good

Bit left field but would u be better of bringing in Berry in Def rather than EVW or another rook with sketchy JS?
7 tackles this week. I know was putrid early but maybe just starting to find his Groove. JS looks pretty good?

Still cheap. Thoughts?

Teia Miles seems to have dropped off the radar completely. Was really favoured during JLT, with Luke Hodge making some flattering comments. Don't see his name in any club reports at all. Anybody have any insight?

He is on my heroes list. Supercoaches got Ottens

Played in the VFL on the weekend.

But if you watch this video of Box Hill singing the team song, posted by the Box Hill twitter account

I'm pretty sure that is Miles wearing the grey hoodie and on crutches 🙁

Thanks for that. Think I can safely put a line through his name

See he is listed as 4-6 weeks with a medial ligament on AFL website

Bloody hell BVC what a service.
Stepped it up another notch this week and broke out the disposals for the handball happy!

Great, great stuff. Seriously appreciated.
Got 3 out of 5 (Barrett an E again) right last week so this week gonna say
Called Muttimer.

Myers, brodie, morrison and scharenberg to debut with Eddy an outside smokey.

Top Gun

Expect Preuss to be recalled. I wonder if Nths Hibberd gets another game this week?

Fantastic article Baron, just an outstanding body of information, clearly this would have taken quite some time and effort to write and I thank you for it!

Mystic Mac

Butler for Parsons & Otten for Montagna this week for mine.

Holding off on premo forwards until the byes once there's a clearer picture. Already have Dal, Buddy, JJK and big Nanktank

Who would you guys put at the top of the list for premo forwards at the moment?

Macrae and I hate saying this….Yeo?!?!?

St Nick

St Nick and lynch will be up there

H Lee

Genuinely considering downgrad hampton to J.Berry over the likes of Mcniece, EVW and Melican this week. Think brisbane almost have to keep playing him and has a more SC-friendly role playing more on the wing. Am i losing my mind?

Yeah you are lol. Berry 40k more than Mcniece, higher price and breakeven. Will only make you max 45k.

hello community
I was thinking of these trade this week, just have enough coin
out Parfitt and Roughead
in Parsons and Pendlebury

what do you think?

Yeah like it

Hi Finnius
Just feel you have to get pendles in NOW, Roughead got the job done and Parfitt inj

roughhead NOT getting the job done

The only thing you have to factor in is the byes but i like it.

As what cromagnon said, this is a superb and very informative read. Im sure i speak for us all when i say you are a marvel.

OK people, first score below 2k last week 🙁 but onwards and upwards. I'm down to 23 trades going into this week which is lower than I had hoped…I made some mistakes. 141,800 in the bank. Team as follows….I wanted to hold trades this round, am I being a fool?

DEF: Laird, Adams, Otten, Marchbank, Hampton, Newman (Stewart, EVW)
MID: Bont, Danger, Titch, Fyfe, Treloar, Beams, Hanners, SPP (Barrett, Fisher, Atley)
RUCK: Grundy, Sandi (Preuss)
FWD: Dahl, Nank, Lynch (GCS), Buddy, Butler, Hayward (Parfitt, Pickett)

far better to trade this week then next. lotsa rookies on the bubble this week as opposed to pretty much nothing next weekl!

Unless Pickett gets recalled you are going to have a donut in the forward line.

Cheers for the replies, possibly bring in parsons if named

Josh Jenkins coming back is definitely going to impact on ottens scoring.. I'm getting rid of him this week

Finally making an upgrade. Have used 5 trades and all have been rookie shuffles.
Smith (Melbourne) to Otten
Mountford to Houston
Hibberd (NM) to Newman
Pickett to Fisher
Cardillo Deluca to Balic

Feels like treading water. And after such a dismal week, need an upgrade just to make me feel like something is happening with my team. So even if it might be slightly premature I am going

Parfitt to Parsons
Otten to Zac Williams

Ended up choosing Williams over Shaw and Simpson because being so far behind I need to have a few POD's to try to catch up. Simpson's role change makes me doubt that we will see last week's output as regularly. My gut tells me Shaw is done as a SC force. Took a set against him based on his second half of 2016, and he hasn't done enough in 2017 to convince me otherwise.

Killer week last week, like everyone else. Sub 1800 is soul destroying after 2355 the week before with the same side.

Here's hoping for better things this week

I know the feeling Keen. I used my first 5 trades to completely restructure my side, having quickly realised by virtue of my 8 year old son (the smartass) that I'd stuffed up. But since then things have dramatically improved. Chin up, you take the good with the bad. And as for your Zac Williams trade I bloody like it. He's a gun. I'm not picking Shaw this week. I want to have a close look again Friday night. There is no doubt Zilliams is seriously impacting his scoring since the middle of last season. It's an important decision to be made & can't be taken lightly. Even if he tonnes up again his price won't go far

I've turned off Shaw (this week) and am seriously thinking about Hibberd, will leave me more $ to upgrade a fwd next week, the way cash generation is this year have to take a few shortcuts, might be able to luxury trade Hibbo later in year or leave him D6/7.

That upgrade is going to feel damn good!

Trading parfit for parson just have to wait and see wether hannan plays to cover nank other wise hannan to yeo. If hannan plays maybe hampton to Michael hibberd or just go large in the middle maybe bowes to bont/sloane

Thoughts on upgrading Otten/Marchbank to McGovern?

Keep Otten if you can, the upgrade to McGovern is nice.

Top Gun

Good POD as everyone will start bringing Hibberd in this week. He is an awesome mark.

The Ranger

Love ya work Barron, thanks mate.
What are we to do about Nank if we haven't got cover?
I went with a double down last week so I could double up this week and now the Nanks gone I'm buggered. Again.

Hold nank, I'm copping a donut this week.

Marchbank to Black via DPP and Parfitt to Grundy bringing Nank up forward
Otten to Parsons via DPP and Parfitt to Martin bringing Nank up forward
Cop the donut…

Wait and see on Grundy, with Cox back in it has slowed down his scoring

I've been leaning more towards Martin because of this.

iLoveNMFC. Is that you Brad Scott. Get Preuss back in immediately please

Sorry INPieman, Pruess will not be playing with Goldstein feeling fit and I have every intention of ruining your SuperCoach week. Cheers.

Aren't you quickly becoming Ross Lyin 2.0

Cox surely can't be played all season, he adds next to nothing for Collingwood

Who has better job security and who should I being in:
McNeice or
Ed Vickers-Willis

In a bit of a pickle this week community. My trades have gone wrong and my team is in shambles so any advice is appreciated

Laird, Shaw, Rance,
Otten, Marchbank, Newman,
(Hampton, Stewart)

Danger, Tmitch, Adams, Beams
Fyfe, Merret, JFK, Treloar,
(SPP, Partfitt, Barret)

Sandi, Witts

Dahl, Nank, Macrae,
Houston, Balic, Butler,
(TT, Eddy)

23 trades left and 92k in the bank

My forward line is pretty weak however there are no premo selections standing out to me.
Not sure if I should be double downgrading or bringing in a Simpson or Pendles type.
Probably bringing in Parsons if he is named

Thanks for any help

You'll get a little cash for Parfitt $243,500 & Hampton $298,200 = $541,700 Move Balic to the midfield Then you can look at EVW or McNiece in defence. Then in the forward line you can look at Buddy, Heeney or Wingard? Maybe to cash up even more you could trade Parfitt $243,500 & Otten $370,000 = $613,500? That could open up for a premo defender or forward and Parsons or EVW or McNiece as you've mentioned.

I've got the same problem as you

Im looking at donut city this week. Thanks greene/nank and parfit. Hopeing B Eddy and Pruess get a call up

eddy should get a call up. 5 goals and 13 marks in the sanfl this week. Team won by 30 as well.

im not so sure with PA playing so well. who would come out?

Oh dear. That's very unlucky

I with you not burning a trade on Nank .

I can get Heeney and Wingard or McRae and Black/Parsons? Which way?

Heeney & Wingard is very tempting but safer to go Macrae and Parsons. Wait to see team selections re Parsons.

Pederson or Stevens up forward anyone?

This is different, very interesting. I like Pederson of the two as he is cheaper and has JS, also his role as number 1 ruck gives him plenty of time around the ball, and he can kick a goal or two.

Black or Parsons???

Why not wait for team selection? I'm guessing Black will be omitted and Parsons will be included to play GC.

If Parsons gets selected I'll pick him, 20k less than black is also an upside.

My problem this season is that I now have 17 keepers but only 8 of them are averaging more than 105.
Macrae nearly makes that 9.
7 are averaging 91-99
And Rance 86

Hope that for some of them they can bounce back

Hey David
I think you need different thresholds on different lines. Def 96, mid 111, Ruc 110, fwd 93. You are probably tracking okay and rucks threshold might need to drop given Gawn Goldy sneannigans.

28 trades and 300k left any tips?

B: Laird, Shaw, Hampton, Otten, March, Newman (Stewart, Mitch Hibberd)
M: Sloane, Ablett, Danger, Fyfe, Priddis, Beams,Trelor, SPP (Barrett, Fisher, Mountford)
R: Sandi, Witts (Strnadica)
F: Franklin, Dahl, Kennedy, Parfitt, Taranto, Nankervis (Balic, Houston)

Thinking need to move Parfitt on and upgrade to premo
Not sure what else is priority.

Any tips is welcome!

Your backline needs another premo like Z ac Williams or Adams so move on Parfitt even one of Marchbank or Otten for cash you can play SPP for another two weeks he will go up in price then go for Myers if he's in

Simpson is also a cheap option

Hello Ant,
Grasshopper here.
Your bye structure down back might need some work. I'd be double downing to build more cash, but you could go McGovern for Newman when he isn't named. :-/ this week.

Anyone think Goldy might turn the corner at any stage soon? Worth bringing in??

Cheers mate

Not worth testing him out. So injury prone and seems to have dropped off significantly.

What do we do with Nank? I've no RUC cover and both Grundy (BE 148) and Martin (BE 152) will leak cash this week.
I can park Nank in the FWD line via DPP and cash out Parfitt to upgrade to premo RUC … but was looking to do this on the Byes.
Or I could swap in Preuss for Strnadica if he plays.

Who is likely to lose less $$$? Grundy (513k) v Kreuser or Martin (557k) v Sinclair/Reid or Tippet.
With $420k in the bank, who would you select?

Im in a very similar boat Lazza, do i go Mummy, Martin or Grundy and be done and leave Nank up fwd, or bring in a cheaper ruck like Pruess or dare i say Sinclair and leave coin in the chest for next upgrade which i planned on doing this week untill Nank was naughty???

Top Gun

Hold Nank the Tank. Grundy and Martin are keepers so it doesn't matter if they leak $$$$.

Might be this week, he had a good performance

Morphin Time

Get ridof butler or hapmton?

Who do u think

True, although if there are two other trades you want to do this week, you can hold Parfitt as his price won't drop and trade him next week. And he's a semi-useful MID or FWD loophole option, given Geelong play Saturday night.

Thoughts on butler up to Grundy
And swing nank fwd so I have the cover for the year
Then parfitt to black'
Thoughts guys

Love it but think Parsons will get the nod over Black. Can only wait and see anyway

For the second time in his career Andy Otten has been a fantastic addition to my side. He will go down as a legend of my footy club….But I think, it's time to move him on.

Operation Pendlebury & Adams
I can only get Pendlebury in if I pair him with McNiece. Is this worth it? I'd much prefer Vickers-Willis & can pair him with Adams, but I really want Pendles now.

1.Pendlebury & McNiece
2.Adams & Vickers Willis.
Note: makes no difference to structure as Lloyd will swing accordingly.

Top Gun

who to play as D6 this round

Marchbank or Newman?

Mcveigh will be back in, interesting to see if Newman makes it

Haha I'm similar rank too
Only up side is that I have avoided so much chaos regarding injuries that it has allowed me to get to only 5 rookies on field now. Have to play 6 again this week ty Nanky

Parsons or black

Great info Barron.

Every week this makes similar articles on the AFL website seem like they are courtesy of a 12 year old who forgot he had an assignment due and wrote it on the bus on the way to school.

Love ya work.

Rick Grimes

Might get Yo-yo. No one else touching him despite being a gun thus far.

Dusty's Neck Tatts

So my backline is currently:
Doc, Laird, Otten, Hampton, Marchbank, Newman (Stewart, Williamson)

I have 200k in the kitty.
Should I do one of the following:
a) Upgrade one rookie into a premo defender (If so, which rookie?)
b) Downgrade one or more of the rookies into bubble boys and bank the cash for byes?
c) Leave them alone for this round, as they should all get over their breakeven and make some coin? (How many def rookies are going to debut in future though?)

My current thinking with a similar line is Marchbank and Otten into EVW and Simpson.

I would need Newman to be named though.

My other thought is to use Berry instead of EVW so I can swing Adams back form midfield and then play SPP on field in the middle.

Is now the time to get Sloane in? cant see him dropping in coin, only going to get more pricey and dont want to miss anymore big scores???

He will drop, even a score of 100 will make his price drop, getting him in at 675k when you could get pendles for 577k would be silly.

His price isn't going to go up considerably, whereas one poor score will make it drop. Try not to pay top dollar for premiums (this year especially).

Nank . You have killed me

Top Gun

Depends if he can maintain his high scoring. If he doesn't his breakeven will rise quickly and you can get him cheaper.

Top work, BVC. Legend.

AFL website reporting Zac Fisher to miss one week with a hamstring. So many rookies only lasting 1 or 2 weeks after bringing them in. The carnage continues

Pickett should come back in.

Really? Why? He's on my bench with a target on him atm…

No big loss there after last week's effort.

Hey guys, with Port playing WCE and Freo playing Bombers, who do you feel would be the better option to play onfield out of Balic and SPP? Cheers.

If you haven't traded Parfitt, put him on the field with the E on SPP. If you don't like SPP's score, swing Balic on for Parfitt. You would need to do it straight after the Port game, before the Geelong game starts.

Thanks Tony…good advice.

If you don't loophole, (I'm looping with Nank fwd and my dummy JDC in mids) then SPP as boak is out.

nankervis suspended

thanks professor

Is anyone considering Dusty now that he's a bit cheaper or are his good matches behind him?
