Steeeve · 27/04/2017 at 14:09

Everything I do for the next two rounds will have one purpose in mind. Get Pendles. Gonna feel like robbery snaffling him for $550K.

    Holty · 27/04/2017 at 15:43

Agreed steeve. Was looking at hanners but as i only have 1 mid premo spot available, it would be stupid not to wait on pendles

    Tyruddanaut · 27/04/2017 at 20:06

I'm going to chuck him in for that

Dave · 27/04/2017 at 14:30

Is it worth going Hannan/ Eddy to Hardwick?

    Dave · 27/04/2017 at 14:43

    Already have Fisher

      wightyswarriors · 27/04/2017 at 15:47

Did you get fisher pre bubble ?

        Dave · 27/04/2017 at 17:43

No, trading him in this week for SPP

    Tyruddanaut · 27/04/2017 at 20:09

Depends how many trades you have left. I have to struggle to only do one more trade by bye rounds and you shouldn't go too low. But otherwise Eddy would be a valuable trade

Dane · 27/04/2017 at 14:31

Can people see Sloane maintaning a 120+ average or is this just 'Chasing points'

    Daz · 27/04/2017 at 14:51

Short answer to your question is yes but Why bother at 645k, if you go buying at a premium you will struggle to fully upgrade team with cash gen this yr. Look at players bottoming out i.e. Treloar, Parker, Hanners, dusty next week. I don't think i would want to pay above 550k for any premium i pick up after rd1. But thats my opinion:-)

    KICKITDOWNTHEGUTS · 27/04/2017 at 14:51

No reason why he shouldn't go very close to that average for the year, the mans a gun, Adelaides draw is opening up extremely well also which could surely only see him maintain or even improve on what he's done thus far.

      KICKITDOWNTHEGUTS · 27/04/2017 at 15:21

Btw not saying to go pay that price for him, just of the opinion that yes he will average 120+

    INPieman · 27/04/2017 at 15:01

This is not the season to be buying anyone over 550K IMO. Unless you have rookies no one knows about

    SF4 · 27/04/2017 at 15:40

Will most likely be a top midfielder but if you haven't got pendles, hanners, Cripps, Parker or dusty who are near rock bottom I would have them as better trade in options as Sloane as they are cheaper and will provide similar scores.

      whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 16:24

But they are not producing similar scores, that's the thing.

They will not be top 10 mids in 2017.

        Moustachio · 27/04/2017 at 18:28

Will provide, not have provided. It's irrelevant what they score before you get them. Only matters what they score for you.

          hedski · 27/04/2017 at 19:46

Great point Stash. Here on in matters not point chasing.

          whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 23:25

Agreed, but Cripps and Parker are unlikely to score top ten from here on.

        Trent · 27/04/2017 at 20:00

My thoughts exactly, hence why I traded Sloane in this week. I know he is at an elevated price, but damn am I missing out on points keeping swallow, who is now out this week. I have all the right rookies, projected now to get 2330 with Sloane, things are looking up. Worth the extra cash I had saved

      whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 16:24

      Cripps and Parker*

    Holty · 27/04/2017 at 15:46

He maybe tempting after the byes i think. Has Brisbane just before and no doubt Robbo will go straight to Sloane and tag the absolute c..p out of him.

    Derek · 27/04/2017 at 16:06

Brad Crouch is playing, will take points away. Scott Thompson will play this week, will take points away.

there is only one way for Sloane's average to go……..

      Beezneez · 28/04/2017 at 12:12

He scored 139 with the Crouch brothers playing last week. Also, Thompson will be playing SANFL for awhile IMO. Sloane gets possessions and takes contested marks all over the ground to increase his points tally. Was hoping Murphy would have been out this week so taht it would have been an easy decision to make it a simple swap to Sloane but am now rethinking that move to assess Murphy for another week. Also, am baulking at the $670K price tag. It pays to be patient – I was thinking last week to trade Treloar for Sloane and looked what happened – Treloar outscored Sloane.

    The Numbers Man · 27/04/2017 at 17:13

    Depends, things to consider:

    – 2014 he averaged 114
    – 2015 he averaged 105
    – 2016 he averaged 109

Also he's never averaged over 115 for a year. Let's assume he averages exactly 120 at the end of the season, that means from here on in he would need to average 116.8 for his remaining 17 games. Or more conservatively, let's say he finishes the season on an average of 115 – that would mean he would need to average 110.4 for his remaining 17 games.

Alternatively you have someone like Parker who's currently averaging 90 after five games. Let's assume he finishes the season averaging 105 (after last year with a season average of 112) he would need to score at an average of 109.3 for the rest of the season to finish on an average of 105.

    Which one to pick?

    Moana · 28/04/2017 at 07:40

Sloane is a wonderful player but I have been burnt by him twice through injury in the last couple of years so I am a little hesitant about selecting him again.
The experts tell us to be wary of SC players who do not have a full preseason, well Sloane has put that theory to bed. I hope keeps his form and stays injury free.

KICKITDOWNTHEGUTS · 27/04/2017 at 14:48

A highlight of every Tuesday (or Thursday in this case)
Thanks Jock and the boys! One question, bring in Hannebery this week or just wait one more to confirm that this proven premium is back?

    INPieman · 27/04/2017 at 15:02

I got him in last week. Arbitrage

      KICKITDOWNTHEGUTS · 27/04/2017 at 15:23

Had to use google on that one haha thanks INPieman, he's currently in 😉

        INPieman · 27/04/2017 at 15:35

Quite simply my friend it means Buy low Sell High. The name of the game & the name of my team with INP in front of it of course

Pablo · 27/04/2017 at 14:54

Thanx Jock. Great podcast. Good to hear some of the (other) community greats contributing pearls of wisdom. Question: At what point do we cut Eddy lose? What are his chances of playing before the R9 bye?

    INPieman · 27/04/2017 at 15:04

He's not worth anything to get rid of. He played round 1 so they must rate him. I'm holding for a bit longer

    INPieman · 27/04/2017 at 15:11

The only person on Port's injury list is Travis Boak. That will no doubt change at some point. It has to. And he will get another crack

      Derek · 27/04/2017 at 16:07

i think Dixson died again last week

        DavidSA · 27/04/2017 at 16:47

Eddy just needs 2 more games b4 byes to make good enough coin

          Pablo · 27/04/2017 at 17:19

Thats what i am hoping for, but unless he gets picked this week, i doubt it will happen. I live in hope.

    poloko48 · 27/04/2017 at 19:54

No game for him this week against a team like Brizzy = no more games for Eddy unless injuries crop up.

      hedski · 27/04/2017 at 20:04

      #see dead Dixon

Tommo09 · 27/04/2017 at 15:21

Trading Roughy to Fisher
Then I have 480k

Do I downgrade O'Meara to Hardwick as well or wait for Black next week?

These are the players I'm looking to upgrade to
Shaw Docherty Lloyd/Adams/Montagna
Pendles Rocky/Dusty
NRoo Dahl Macrae Greene/Buddy

    Kev · 27/04/2017 at 15:38

Nice bank that, Tommo. I'd paint the face and grab a mid premo for JOM. Dusty and Pendles have huge b.e's this week and will be much cheaper if you hold off.

Plenty of fallen premo's in the 520-580k range. Cripps, Wines, Zerrett and Sydney mids are standouts

      Moustachio · 27/04/2017 at 18:31

Hell yeah. I do myself up like braveheart every thurs night at the trade table.

        Tommo09 · 27/04/2017 at 20:24

Going to go Rough and SPP to fisher and Balic
        691k in bank
        Upgrade next few weeks

KICKITDOWNTHEGUTS · 27/04/2017 at 15:39

    INPieman · 27/04/2017 at 15:46

Better than Chris Mayne. Who can't even get a kick in the VFL

      leedy · 27/04/2017 at 16:08

Freo's revenge for Jack Anthony 🙂

    Russty_ · 27/04/2017 at 23:07

Fev's probably better than most of the Pie's fwd line right now, even though he is as he described, "fat as a house", at least he knew how to find the goals, and take a mark, if he loses 20 kilos, they should give him a go! lol

The Goonies · 27/04/2017 at 15:46

After dealing with under strength forward line, and Nick Riewoldt tricking me in the second round…..
Roughie > Macrae
Swallow > Tex Walker ( POD/ Adelaide smashing everyone's backdoors in)

Leaves me with 25 trades and 36k in bank.

    Big M · 27/04/2017 at 16:00

for what it's worth, think there are better options that Tex, I reckon he is just to up & down, relies too heavily on scoring which historically he does not do week in week out

      The Goonies · 27/04/2017 at 17:39

Similar to JJK though, who do you think will be top 6?
Current fwd line (pre trades is)
Dahl, Rough, WHE, Butler, parfett, Taranto, Hannan, Eddy.

        hedski · 27/04/2017 at 19:49

Hell of a fwd line you have there, TRADE!!

    Tyruddanaut · 27/04/2017 at 20:10

Tex might go down but I am sure on him to remain top 10

Cr0magn0n · 27/04/2017 at 15:56

Okay community, I agree that buying Pendles cheap is an awesome opportunity. But…. Anyone have the feeling he is playing sore and/or carrying an injury? Anyone in the know re: Collingwood?

    Derek · 27/04/2017 at 16:08

i saw Wells at more center bounces than pendles on the weekend. didn't like the look of that.

    Skindog · 27/04/2017 at 16:20

The whole team is playing with an injury, it's called collingwont,,

    Sauce · 27/04/2017 at 16:34

I'm gonning to wait one more week on pendles because if he is injured it is a wasted trade and if he scores well his break even is 125 so he won't go up too much

      whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 16:49

      Pendlebury's BE is 187.

Wait a couple of weeks and get him for peanuts.

        Derek · 27/04/2017 at 17:07

will drop say $25k this week, and then another $15k the following week. Once the 67 is gone from his average his price will jump up again. so the rock bottom will be $555k…. unless he has another stinker

        wait two weeks

Wellsey · 27/04/2017 at 15:56

Can Jock wield his influence and ask one of the St. Kilda boys to give Wayno a handcuff signal after a goal to lift his spirits?

Brad · 27/04/2017 at 15:58

this is an aggressive trade, but would marchbank to Hibbard (Melb) me a good trade or to early?

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 27/04/2017 at 16:13

Surely u know the answer to that?
Marchbank low BE have another look at Hibberd.
    Is he top 6?

      K.Sinny · 27/04/2017 at 16:16

wait at least one more week to allow marchbank to gain a bit more cash and more importantly to see how hibberd goes this week

      Cr0magn0n · 27/04/2017 at 16:16

      What Trigger said!

      INPieman · 27/04/2017 at 17:39

Agree with Trigger. From history that's a ceiling type score from Hibbo. And there hasn't been a shortage of sucker punches so far this season. Wait

      Tyruddanaut · 27/04/2017 at 20:12

Two early To early I agree. Too early to trade Marchbank and too early to know how good hibberd is

    Sauce · 27/04/2017 at 16:33

To early marchbank has some generation left and wait on hibbard

    Russty_ · 27/04/2017 at 23:13

Hibberd's legs are made of Paper Mache, I wouldn't trade him in …ever.

Bois · 27/04/2017 at 16:11

For Pendlebury owners, he posted on his instagram "ps I'm not injured, just played sh*t"

    INPieman · 27/04/2017 at 17:41

BS. Not buying into that. He couldn't run. That's quite an important aspect of afl football. Scoring 67 walking is a fair effort

    Moustachio · 27/04/2017 at 18:34

Not all of the story. He spent 14 mins on the bench at one point.

      INPieman · 27/04/2017 at 20:28

That was the previous game against the saints Moustachio. As soon as he came back on in the last he grabbed his right hammy but kept going at snails pace

        Henry · 27/04/2017 at 20:36

Based on his gps it was his highest running game for the entire season. So dno why you're saying he cant run. Most k's clocked up whole year.

Kyle · 27/04/2017 at 16:12

Will Jobe Watson improve or is it time to get rid of him

    Cr0magn0n · 27/04/2017 at 16:18

I would view Jobe as a stepping stone, a means to make some cash whilst achieving some okay output. No way he will be a top 8 midfielder. Just get on SC and look at his price projections, if his BE eclipses his average then it's time to go.

      whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 16:50

I'd use him as a stepping stone, step on his head and pick someone else pronto haha

Sauce · 27/04/2017 at 16:32

Thoughts on bringing Parker in this week keep in mind I can't afford hannerberry

    whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 16:45

    hedski · 27/04/2017 at 19:52

Donut, that was meant to be DO IT.

zakvb · 27/04/2017 at 16:32

swallow down to fisher for 250k in the bank
next round trade out parfitt and dan butler for aaron black and 600k+ premo
swallow and butler out this week for fisher and any premo fwd excluding rooey
currently ranked 2000th overall help very appreciated

    whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 16:44

Butler has a projected price change of 20K………look at the breakevens!

      zakvb · 27/04/2017 at 17:04

looking to get full premo as soon as possible though and could change butler to parfitt and get a fallen mid premo like parker or cripps but not convinced they will return to ultra premium status

SirSamuel016 · 27/04/2017 at 16:32

Thinking I'll trade Petrovski-Seton and D.Swallow this round. Got 257k in the bank, 26 trades left. Was thinking of bringing in a midfield premo like Rockliff, Pendles or Hanners, and bringing in a rookie to get some more cash back in the bank. Any thoughts/suggestions on that or whether I should focus on another part of the team? Here's the team: http://i.imgur.com/vnIzZ9b.png

    whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 16:44

So you did no trades last week? That picture is old.

      SirSamuel016 · 27/04/2017 at 17:04

Yeah mate, didn't make any trades in the end.

who Cares · 27/04/2017 at 16:34

Marchbank BE 34 > Fisher via Adams swinging back into defence
Butler BE 30 > Franklin

But sad to let go of these two rookies who most probably will both still make 15k each this week, but I can't see getting Franklin any cheaper time for an aggressive paint the fence.

This brings my def and fwd line to 5/1

    whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 16:42

Franklin's BE is 124, Franklin can easily get cheaper, or at least stay about the same value.

You can't afford to cull good rookies early.

      Cr0magn0n · 27/04/2017 at 16:46

      He's absolutely right!

        DavidSA · 27/04/2017 at 16:49

Agree with above hold on those rookies

Sauce · 27/04/2017 at 16:41

do I go:
Swallow- fisher
WHE- Balic (if named)
And cop 1 less premo for a week

Swallow- Parker ( or someone under 530K)
WHE- Balic

    whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 16:46

    1. Don't settle on players you don't actually want due to price.

      Derek · 27/04/2017 at 17:03

yep. i hate when people ask for a player under $XXX price.

I know exactly who i want in my final team, knew it 6 weeks ago. Its just a process of getting them at the right price.

        Pablo · 27/04/2017 at 17:38

I keep referring back to my Higganator sheet when i have my starting and my ideal final lineup to ensure i stay focused the end game. Obviously, there may be tweaks along the way with injury etc, but i find it helpful.

        Moustachio · 27/04/2017 at 18:36

Depends if playing for rank or league. Paying 100k extra for +2 ppg highly questionable if going for overall…

    redherringfc · 27/04/2017 at 18:18

Macrae is about 530, do you have him, can you afford him?

Declan · 27/04/2017 at 16:44

Love the work Jock, keep it up.

Everyone talking about Sydney mids and easy run. Is anyone considering bringing Buddy. Got a nice 4 games should hopefully score well and only 464k. Thoughts community.

    whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 16:47

Plenty are talking about buddy, good option but don't trade out rookies early to get him. He still has a 124 BE.

      Declan · 27/04/2017 at 16:51

WHE to buddy for 140k? Worth it?

        pod · 27/04/2017 at 16:58

Buddy is value and you know you're going to kick yourself if you miss the boat. His B/E is easy to reach, he's likely to go huge against a weak Blues backline, and the Swans are about to go bang.

    who Cares · 27/04/2017 at 16:50

Wait one more week, I know it's a bit crazy but with BE 124 even if he scores 100-110 he will leak some more cash then will sky rocket

      Declan · 27/04/2017 at 16:59

Was planning on going up to Martin and Pendles next week tho, so only way of getting all 3 ASAP without leaking most cash is to take lance this week and hope he can belt out about 5 goals and 115-125sc. Is this trade option smart or not? Thanks

        Northerner · 28/04/2017 at 05:25

Pendles you don't need next week. Week after he'll likely be cheapest.

Steeeve · 27/04/2017 at 16:50

Really eye opening Jock about Swallow not making any more money before round 9. For me it's either cull him now or wait until well after his bye for a final upgrade/m9 situation.
Kind of hoping Balic is back this round might double downgrade WHE to Balic, Swallow to Fisher. Should give me heaps of cash for Pendles plus another upgrade soon after.

DavidSA · 27/04/2017 at 16:55

Doing one trade this week Parfitt to Fisher banking 125k
Parfitt with last 3 scores of 99, 52, 51 the 99 leaving his caluculations now has a BE of 39

    Steve · 27/04/2017 at 21:41

I'd still keep Parfitt if you can. Another 80 plus score against the Pies and all of sudden he's making fat stacks again. Can't you get rid of a non playing rookie like Barrett, Pickett or Eddy instead? Until rookie break evens get over say 80 or 100 I'd just try and sit tight as we need every dollar we can extract from them. Just look at all those hasty coaches who culled Hampron last week.

Please help · 27/04/2017 at 16:57

Is Ablett a must upgrade? Thinking of pendles straight swap in couple of weeks

    Holty · 27/04/2017 at 17:10

Im holding. Not performing as well as id like but neither is Pendles. GAJ is one big game away to boost his average to 105+. Surely there must be bigger priorities in your side then doing this trade?

    Steve · 27/04/2017 at 17:14

I'd wait until after his round 9 bye and if he still looks a good option at that point then pounce on him. Although he's playing well he's just not getting the same level of CPs and goal assists as he used to, so he's actually struggling to ton up atm and probably has a little more cash to bleed.

      BradK · 27/04/2017 at 18:14

Get ablett out of your team. He's an old man, and plays like it, and will average under 100.

People are using two trades to get rid of WHE for Macrae, which is a good trade, but will only give you 20-odd more points a week. Ablett to pendles, rocky, or even sloane will cost you alot less for a sure 20-30 point increase.

Jono · 27/04/2017 at 17:08

Cripps v Hanners v Titch?

    pod · 27/04/2017 at 17:22

    Cripps starting to warm up

    Sauce · 27/04/2017 at 17:29

Hanners will be top 10 mids in my view

Steeeve · 27/04/2017 at 17:12

Not too worried about Ocker. Think Crouching may have been about 30 rum cans deep talking to his illegitimate child!

    INPieman · 27/04/2017 at 17:39

Might have had a couple under the belt lol

      Skindog · 27/04/2017 at 19:54

      A couple? Couple of slabs??

      OldOcker · 28/04/2017 at 02:34

Well deserved couple but the wisdom was still there. lol

        Skindog · 28/04/2017 at 18:32

Yes it was oldocker, just a tad slurry lol

    Skindog · 27/04/2017 at 19:56

He might have to rethink the rum cans if he can't remember his own kids,,,lol

    hedski · 27/04/2017 at 20:05

Aahh, the communists at it again.

      Didnt think it was bad,

JDP · 27/04/2017 at 17:24

Would love your thoughts on Which fwd to bring in this week

Buddy, Tex or Greene

Have Dahl & Macrae in team and Buddy has same bye round

Cheers for thoughts

Matt · 27/04/2017 at 17:28

Looking for a promo mid to trade in, I've narrowed down to Hannebery and tmitch… thoughts guys?

    hedski · 27/04/2017 at 19:54

That chick in the tight promo top.

      Daniel Z · 28/04/2017 at 06:51

Has a nice mid. A bit rough up top though…

Baggy pants · 27/04/2017 at 17:49

How is everyone dealing with the byes and the temptation to bring in fallen premiums that may not fit your bye structure. I would love to trade in Hanners but it just gives me another round 11 bye player. Not sure what to do. Do we need a couple of round 9 bye players to help take the pressure of the other weeks.

    RobDog · 27/04/2017 at 18:43

That has been my strategy all season. Am holding trades and will aim to bring in Gray or Wines after Round 9. My Round 12 can fit another premo or 2, so looking at Dusty if he picks up. Round 13 can't fit any more without it costing me, so will have to wait on Pendles, and Hanners is in the same boat for Round 11. Am scoring ok, but 500 off the leaders so not really in the hunt for rankings. Holding trades and working around my bye structures for league wins.

    Steve · 27/04/2017 at 21:35

That's an excellent point. Whilst it is mighty tempting to fill your side up with Swans premos over the next fortnight given their great draw and bargain pricing you can then all of a sudden find your side clogged up with 6pr 7 round 11 bye keepers which will make for a very sickly round 11 score more than likely.

      Steve · 27/04/2017 at 21:35

      *6 or 7

    Juzzy · 28/04/2017 at 00:33

Like the way you are thinking Baggy.

I have too many round 11 premos. Having a very close look at Shuey and Priddis right now and bypassing the Hanners bargain.

Don't mind the idea of going early on a Gray, Wines or GAJ either if you have reliable bench cover (but who has …)

Steve · 27/04/2017 at 17:54

Lads, it pains me to say that I'm already on 24 trades due to unfortunate premium injuries and rookie corrections.
The prospect of getting Pendles in at ~$550k is extremely arousing, but it would translate into making 2 further trades in the next two weeks.
Is it worth jumping on Zac Fisher and grabbing Pendles next week or is my trade situation too dire at this point of the season?

Any thoughts appreciated community!

    BradK · 27/04/2017 at 18:06

Trade hard mate. Get to full premium, and good full premiums, as fast as possible. Then hope you have enough to cover injuries. Thats how you win, you just have to be lucky.

    * I've finished top 20, and in top 200 the last two years, and are currently on 1200.

Declan · 27/04/2017 at 18:32

No barrett, no eddy!! Time to cull eddy, or focus on upgrades?

The Ranger · 27/04/2017 at 18:32

SPS and Swallow are gone this week.
Fisher and A.N.Other Rookie coming in.
$660K in the bank for next weeks shopping.

HarryO · 27/04/2017 at 18:34

is down grading JOM to fisher this week and upgrade swallow to a low premo next weeek a good idea?

    Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 18:44

Other way around as Jaegar is playing this week and swallow is not.

Alex · 27/04/2017 at 18:37

Hellooooooooooooooo Newman …. AGAIN!

Although now many coaches will have that dilemma on who to bench out of Otten, Hampton, Marchbank and Newman. Good problem to have I suppose.

    Top Gun · 27/04/2017 at 19:44

Use a loophole rookie where possible

      hedski · 27/04/2017 at 20:08

Too many good rooks down back to have a loop, all the $ will come from def.

        Alex · 27/04/2017 at 21:32

Bang on Hedski! Most coaches already punted Smith or Hibberd in their backline so the vast majority of coaches will probably have to decide who to bench out of Newman, Marchbank and Hampton.

    whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 23:47

Throw McGrath into that lot it's a nightmare to pick defense every week.

      Bells E Bubb · 28/04/2017 at 13:52

He is looking more and more at home at this level. Onfield for me.

    Beezneez · 28/04/2017 at 12:23

Glad I've still got Smith for that (and only} reason. Was going to trade him to Wiliamson last week which, in hindsight, would have been a good move for cash generation and reasonable backup – may take another look at EVW. .

SC17 · 27/04/2017 at 18:42

Thinking of going Roughy and Swallow to Selwood/Zorko and Fisher.
Would you rather have Selwood, Zorko or someone else

    Cold_Case · 27/04/2017 at 18:44

I'm thinking of bringing in selwood cause of his bye round

    Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 18:46

Zerrett, Treloar, Hanners & even pendles cheaper options who will average the same – however like Selwood if you are choosing out of the two

      Cold_Case · 27/04/2017 at 18:49

Good point. Now i get to hit reverse trade for the 900th time this week

        HarryO · 27/04/2017 at 19:00

dont spend over 550k if u can avoid it mate.. so much value in fallen premos!

James · 27/04/2017 at 18:43

Still no Peuss eh?! And with Waite just 1-2 weeks away it's hard to see how he gets a game any time soon in their forward line. So looks like all those who downgraded to the Prussian a fortnight ago have gravely miscalculated the Roos ruck situation!

    SF4 · 27/04/2017 at 18:52

    Preuss is very unlucky.

    Dutch · 27/04/2017 at 18:56

You may be right, but I suspect he will get some more games at some point, his form earlier this year was just too good and Daw is not exactly consistent and Goldy is likely to miss with an injury at some point, only question is how long to keep him for – I got him as a cashcow when on the bubble, he's made $138k so has done his job on that front ….

    Captain Risky · 27/04/2017 at 18:59

Named as emergency.. I am surprised Goldy made it up again, looks to be struggling a bit. hopefully a late change.

      Derek · 27/04/2017 at 20:05

Goldy' s ankle looked bad last week

        JDP · 27/04/2017 at 21:00

        Goody number 1

The BONT · 27/04/2017 at 18:47

Pickett to Balic how is that for a trade or will S.Hill kick him out when he comes better with his hammy

    Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 18:57

Hill out for four weeks which should have your cash done by then anyways. Balic in best 22 at Freo at the moment

      redherringfc · 27/04/2017 at 19:06

but can he score anything? Didn't his 73 include a high point scoring, last quarter goal?
I think Ross did us a favour last week, so we could bring in others this week.

        hedski · 27/04/2017 at 20:47

A lot of scores come from cheap goals

      whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 23:48

Four weeks isn't long enough to cull a rookie.

SirSamuel016 · 27/04/2017 at 18:50

The selections for this round have ruined my ideal trade of Petrovski-Seton and D.Swallow for Hanners and Balic as I'll now be taking a duck egg in either the forwardline or midfield now. Do I stick with the trade and cop the egg or should I go Swallow for Hanners and Ainsworth/Pickett for Balic to avoid the egg?

    Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 18:56

    Swallow not named either

      SirSamuel016 · 27/04/2017 at 18:58

Yeah, I know that. Swallow's going either way so I don't need to worry about him, but do I hold Seton for a week even if it costs me a bit of cash to avoid the ol' duck egg or trade him out now to be better off in the long run? I'm very unsure what to do.

        Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 19:06

The question is this: Are you willing top cop a max 10k loss for a zero? I personally would not be. Get rid of Pickett. He has hit his BE pretty much and been dropped, whilst not looking likely to get recalled.

          SirSamuel016 · 27/04/2017 at 19:12

Fair point. So I should prioritize trading Pickett out over Seton? And thanks for the advice dude!

            Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 19:16

I personally would be yes. Just get rid of SPS next week – and for pendles!

    whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 23:50

You can't afford a zero…………..it's not rocket science.

Plus Pickett not playing, SPS playing…..could get another 100+ who knows.

    Simple logic is needed here.

iLoveNMFC · 27/04/2017 at 18:53

Which 2 of Newman, Hampton and Marchbank on field?

Balic or Hannan on field?

    tophawk · 27/04/2017 at 19:29

I reckon Newman and Hampton onfield in your backline and Balic onfield in your forward line. Cheers

    Top Gun · 27/04/2017 at 19:48

Newman and Marchbank to me but loophole where you can.

    Pman · 27/04/2017 at 20:01

Have the same query with those 3 in my backline too and probably leaning towards Newman and Marchbank on field and Hampton as Emergency. Hampton did score a great 100 last week but has stunk it up a few times and the other two are probably a bit more consistent and should pump out 75+ whereas Hampton could leave a dirty skidmark in the Reg Grundy's with a 50 odd.

    iLoveNMFC · 27/04/2017 at 20:52

    Cheers lads.

Benschke · 27/04/2017 at 18:53

So we all hear the rhetoric about not trading out our Premiums & with good reason. I have Sandilands, Ryder & Witts(E) as my Rucks & also have Nankervis in my FWD line. I only have about $40K in the bank & badly need some cash to start upgrading over the next few weeks. I am considering trading out this week D Swallow & Ryder in a double downgrade for Balic & Z Fisher & moving Nankervis into the Ruck.

Ryder is dragging the chain & only averaging 83. So my question is, do you class Ryder as a Premium & do you see him averaging 100+ for the remainder of the season?

Appreciate your help!!

    HarryO · 27/04/2017 at 19:02

great move mate. im also doing a double downgrade to those exact rookies to generate the cash for pendles zerrett hanneberry etc in coming weeks. nank swap into the ruck is a smart move.

    Swans2012 · 27/04/2017 at 19:38

I'd leave nank forward and chop Ryder to a non playing R/f loophole then play witts on the field. Witts is a MUCH better on field option than any of your forward rookies imo. Then Upgrade witts to a premium ruck in a few weeks. Then fisher or balic for swallow and you've got buttloads of cash for the next couple of upgrades and your scoring hasn't taken a hit…..

      Dutch · 27/04/2017 at 19:55

Agree with swannie's suggestions, you are wasting witts on the bench

      Northerner · 28/04/2017 at 05:33

      That's the go

    Pman · 27/04/2017 at 20:06

Ryder has to go IMO as he is too incosistent and has missed a year of footy and is generally susceptible to an injury and/or suspension so it's likely he will miss games at some stage. I'd be looking to upgrade him Stef Martin or Brodie Grundy and trade Witts (if you desperately need cash generation) to Strndica (R/Fwd) and keep Nank in Fwd line but have swing set if the other two "set and forget" ruckman get injured.

Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 18:54

Pick two out of: Balic, butler, Parfitt, Hannan, Fisher and SPP to start onfield.

    gator59 · 27/04/2017 at 18:57

    spp and butler

    HarryO · 27/04/2017 at 19:03

    butler and possibly SPP.

    tophawk · 27/04/2017 at 19:34

    Balic and Butler

      Colin · 27/04/2017 at 20:12

      Butler and SPP

I'm a crows fan, and one downer of our season so far is our shocking record against small forwards, all opposition small Fwds kick multiple against us and I expect butler/Castgna to get on the board this week.

Spp to spend more time on ground / midfield due to travis boak injury! Should have a good week!

garfield_da_cat · 27/04/2017 at 18:58

What are peoples thoughts on this move SPP to Myers and Steele to Macrae I have 25 trades left and 52k in the bank

    Top Gun · 27/04/2017 at 19:50

Myers isn't playing? I would wait until he gets a gig.

redherringfc · 27/04/2017 at 18:58

i missed the Newman boat (i was hiking so no mobile service over 2 weekends) but i still think i should bring him in. He's just over $200k. i have a few, low scoring rookies (SPP, EVW, Taranto) on the field. Newman seems like i can put him in d6 ( EVW to bench) for a few weeks, take 80 odd points and worry about my other lines, until he tops out.
He seems like a better money maker, even at 200k, than any other rookies this round.
Is my logic sound?

    HarryO · 27/04/2017 at 19:06

worried about his JS as his only just come back in from a week out at 200k his dear. look at maybe a tom williamson whose cheaper and better JS?

      Northernsoul74 · 27/04/2017 at 19:15

Already missed Williamson first price rise. Wouldn't bring him in now. Only bring rookies in when in the bubble, if you've missed them move on.

    Captain Risky · 27/04/2017 at 19:55

Supercoach projections are suggesting that ….

Newman has another 190K (to 390k) over the next 5 weeks, topping out at 440k by EOY.
    Williamson projection 5 weeks around 140K (312k) , topping out at 350k

Obviously you have missed the 1st prices rises for each, but still some money to be made, depending really on Job security and future scoring.. Each will make more than SPP and Taranto, but you could make just as much out of a new rookie I would think.

Your team, your trades, your decision!

      Captain Risky · 27/04/2017 at 20:02

That said, i'd happily take 140 or 190 K from Hannan or Parfitt, & others would add Barrett, Pickett, Long, Eddy etc..

The backline rookies seem to have more scoring potential thus far.

jimmy · 27/04/2017 at 18:59

now that teams have dropped what can i do with my SC team

DEF: Laird, Howe, Lloyd, Otten, Marcbank, Hampton (Newman, Stewart)
MID: Rockliff, Danger, Fyfe, Mundy, Pendles, Priddis, Ablett, Fisher (SPP, Fox, Barret)
RCK: Nankervis, Sandilands (Strandica)
FWD: Macrae, JJK, Greene, Butler, Houstan, Parfitt (Pickett, Eddy)

have $98,200 in the kitty and 26 trades left thoughts please

    Lee · 27/04/2017 at 19:56

Balic for spp and upgrade butler parfit or houston to premo

    Pom · 27/04/2017 at 20:25

Fox got downgraded. Eddy not even getting emergency gig, Pickett has gone full potato, Barrett can't get into lions team.
All other rookies playing and making coin so hold. SPP near end though.
Downgrade options are pretty much Hardwick at Hawks and Balic at Freo. Both questionable job security really.
I would get rid of one of eddy/Pickett so you at least have fwd bench cover making coin. Balic is mid/fwd if that helps.
    Good luck mate.

Ken · 27/04/2017 at 19:03

Who to trade out first out of SPP and WHE? Feel WHE might have a little bit more left in him whilst SPP has just hit a wall?

    marcusproudson · 27/04/2017 at 19:06

I agree SPP is on my trade list too. WHE maybe a few more weeks to go until bye rounds

      Jackson · 27/04/2017 at 20:08

I'd persist with SPP one more week, with travis boak out, expect him to have more time in the guts therefore more ball. For me WHE is the one to go.

relton · 27/04/2017 at 19:07

i feel a double downgrade week on the cards.. is WHE time come to an end and JOM/swallow?? appreciate your thoughts community i want balic and fisher ideally

    Dean · 27/04/2017 at 19:26

Get rid of Swallow seeing he is dropped bring in Fisher.
I'm holding WHE at the moment because his scores thus far are 88,120,71,70 & 51 with an average of 80 – So your chances of WHE scoring 70+ seem a lot more consistent when compared to JOM who has scored 71,89,44 with a average of 68

marcusproudson · 27/04/2017 at 19:08

So guys. Who should I field out of the following. Can pick one per position: backs Hampton or Newman. Mids parfitt or fisher. Forwards WHE or Houston.

    Dean · 27/04/2017 at 19:19

Newman, Parfitt & WHE are the ones im keeping on ground. Although the Hampton/Newman conundrum is hard so follow your gut mate.

      marcusproudson · 27/04/2017 at 19:35

Mmmm. I also don't trust WHE. He's very inconsistent. I where as Houston goes 70-80 every week.. decisions decisions

Neither. Both playing this week with low BE'S of 38 and 41 respectively. Will make more cash.

      Mike · 27/04/2017 at 19:42

Need to get Fisher in though. Do you suggest I trade out Barrett, Eddy instead? Or even WHE?

        Joshua · 27/04/2017 at 20:02

Adrian · 27/04/2017 at 19:16

Which one should l do:

M.Hibberd to Fisher – non playing rookie to playing rookie on the bubble; or
Swallow to Fisher – and cash it up

WHE to Balic

Maybe l am better on keeping swallow and trading a non playing rookie in Hibberd to Fisher?

    marcusproudson · 27/04/2017 at 19:33

    Swallow is out too.?

    tophawk · 27/04/2017 at 19:43

Get rid of David Swallow. Not playing this week. (Rested) Keep Hibberd around for loopholing, and trade in Balic. Keep WHE for now. His BE is manageable at 70. Then bang bang next week.

    Jeremiah · 27/04/2017 at 21:45

Get rid of the Fokker. No way he will be a top 10 defender so you may as well cut your losses now.

TDEV · 27/04/2017 at 19:25

Pretty Set on Trading out Swallow and Taranto, my dilemma is what sort of a trade I should go with? I have 160k in the bank.

Option 1: Double downgrade for maximum cash generation with fisher and balic, means I will have to start parfitt or fisher for this week. In the coming weeks I can then go bang bang with pendles and Hannebery, or a fwd premo.

Option 2: Upgrade, downgrade. Most likely fisher and Hanners, but leaves me with 80k and am not sure if that will be enough to get pendles in when he drops.

    redherringfc · 27/04/2017 at 19:38

I'd hold Taranto, hopefully he's rested up and will start to score some decent points. He's only gone up a bit over 40k.
As for your 2 options, option 2 seems more likely to be affordable than option 1, in order to get Hanners and Pendles. Hanners BE is 109 and he will most likely get that. I'd get him this week and take the extra points.

      TDEV · 27/04/2017 at 20:01

Didn't realise Taranto was still playing. If I was to still go with two trades who should it be of these players? Pickett, Parfitt, Swallow, WHE, Barrett, SPP. Eddy.

    Dean · 27/04/2017 at 20:27

Option 1 by far because Hanners Breakeven is still quite high at 109 so even if he scores a 130 his score will only increase very slightly no more then $10k maximum.

You only have one chance to bring in players that are on the bubble.

Shane · 27/04/2017 at 19:29

WHE for Hardwick or not

Shane · 27/04/2017 at 19:31

Also which two players do i trade out out of WHE,SPP,Parfitt,Hayward,Barrett and who to get in Fisher, Balic,Hardwick,

    HarryO · 27/04/2017 at 19:35

trade out Barrett he's not generating and probably SPP/WHE toss of the coin. get in fisher and balic both solid JS

      poloko48 · 27/04/2017 at 19:59

Barrett should get a run soon, emergency again this week.

    whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 23:53

    WHE out

    SPP or Parfitt out.

Hold Hayward for the slow burn?

Barrett hold, will make good cash when he comes back.

Joshua · 27/04/2017 at 19:32

Trade in Hanners, Treloar or T mitch for Parfitt?

    Shane · 27/04/2017 at 19:34

    Treloar or mitch

    Dean · 27/04/2017 at 20:21

Don't trade Parfitt this week he has a B/E of 39 if he scores a 80+ he could still make you $50k

Trade some other dud like Pittard, Roughead or Swallow,

      Joshua · 27/04/2017 at 20:23

Dont have any of them and decided to trade Parfitt instead of SPP or Taranto as i think they can score higher

hedski · 27/04/2017 at 19:43

Great podcast community, I think spud Puckett to Ballicker will be all this week, FA cash gen on the trade but Harley should make that up in a week or two (FU Ross in advence).
Great to see Newman back.

    tophawk · 27/04/2017 at 19:52

    Hedski!….Pickett and Swallow are gonski!!

OUT- Turd Pickett IN- Stud Balic.
OUT- Turd Swallow IN- Dan, the man Hannebery.

First premo upgrade in 2017 with $121K in the money jar. Happy days!

redherringfc · 27/04/2017 at 19:45

There doesn't seem to be much love for Hardwick. Is his JS that bad? he's scored alright and seems a better option for points than Balic (who i know is dpp)

What does Barret have to do to get s game!?!

    Holty · 27/04/2017 at 20:39

Agreed. What did he do wrong in the first place to get dropped? Im holding and hopefully he gets some games soon

      HarryO · 27/04/2017 at 20:57

im holding also holty. he's getting leather poisoning in the 2s . cant be far off surely?

        b_sh3p · 27/04/2017 at 21:56

        Also holding

          Derek · 27/04/2017 at 22:04

Berry got picked ahead of him

    OldOcker · 28/04/2017 at 02:37

Named as emergency and I will be holding, Can't be far away.

Pete · 27/04/2017 at 19:48

I'm not bringing in any fallen premiums in just as yet, traded out Swallow to Fisher & Roughead to Balic this leaves me with $525k but my team has very few players in R13 due to the bye so I need to be very selective as to who I bring in, I can't afford to bring in fallen premo's who aren't playing in R13.

    b_sh3p · 27/04/2017 at 22:01

Doing exact same trades at the moment Pete. Previously had macrae instead of balic though… See how I feel tomorrow may change it. Idea is to double trade Next Week to premo mid and black if he does alright this week getting rid of spp and pickett/eddy. Good luck

Andrew · 27/04/2017 at 19:51

Need help with a VC option community. JPK, Rocky, Beams, Fyfe or Dahl? Have had it on JPK all week but not I'm not so sure.

    hedski · 27/04/2017 at 20:15

Fyfe from those. Buddy for me.

    Andrew · 27/04/2017 at 20:17

    whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 23:55

Rocky at the Gabba, or Fyfe/Dahl.

Jaes · 27/04/2017 at 19:53

Is B.Eddy for Balic a Good trade

    Dean · 27/04/2017 at 20:14

YES its good coz eddy doesn't seem like he's back. At least with Balic you know he's going to make cash although Lyons might drop Balic next week which concerns me.

If you can go Eddy to Fisher via DPP then do that coz at least you know the carlton kids are going to play.

poloko48 · 27/04/2017 at 19:55

Thinking double down this week as have very little $$$
Pickett & Eddy for Fisher & Balic – thoughts?
Or hold Eddy for one more week to get Black instead?

    b_sh3p · 27/04/2017 at 22:03

Toss of the coin I reckon, I'm likely getting balic this week and black Next Week if he has a decent game

Derek · 27/04/2017 at 19:57

Drat….. Cyril missing this week is annoying. That damm screamer he took last week landed on his hip. He might have to go.

    Steve · 27/04/2017 at 20:07

Just not a keeper mate as many in the community said all preseason. At least it gives you a good excuse now to boot his burnman ass and bring in a proper premium forward if you can afford it.

      Derek · 28/04/2017 at 08:31

I think you are right, just not keeper material. He started to show a bit last week, then hurt himself taking that big screamer and sat off most of last quarter.

      Cyril to his mate Buddy

    Jaes · 27/04/2017 at 20:11

If you do want to trade him get in Buddy Got carTON this week and his draw is opening up carTON, Bris,North,STK and Hawks next 5 games should pass his be this week i believe. And TON up.. When sydney start winning some games his score starts to increase AVG 90 this year so far and is only 50k more then Rioli and how the way the FWD line is doing a 95 AVG should be top 8

    hedski · 27/04/2017 at 20:16

    Probs done another hammy Derek.

Dusty Spurs · 27/04/2017 at 19:57

I'm thinking of keeping Pickett as a loophole, Carlton have 8/18 Sunday games and the rest Saturday's, he also has DPP and I don't think making a measily 50 k from him is worth the trade and I have others I need to downgrade – any merit to this idea?

And any support or criticism for my trades this week would be much appreciated community:

Swallow to Fisher

    Dusty Spurs · 27/04/2017 at 19:58

missed my other trade, which is WHE to Hannebery

    Doc · 27/04/2017 at 20:17

Definitely some merit, however I think Pickett will get another semi-extended run which would render him useless as the loophole firing that period.

    babo · 27/04/2017 at 22:37

Likely to do something similar.. that 28 on all our team pages is messing with our heads. whats to say that Fisher doesn't get the same short run that Parfitt had to date.

Im trying hard to go logic over emotion

Pman · 27/04/2017 at 20:07

Butler and Parfitt.

Hawks · 27/04/2017 at 20:10

Current forward line looks very thin-

Dahlhaus, Macrae, WHE, Butler, Parfitt, Hannan, Eddy & Pickett

It's the only line that needs work.

I have $35k in cash.

I'm thinking of a double downgrade this week-
Out – WHE & Pickett
In – Balic & Hardwick (I have Fisher in the mids)

Then upgrade Parfitt to Buddy in the next week or 2.

Thought please.

    b_sh3p · 27/04/2017 at 22:04

    Nank or Greene in fwd….

Dusty Spurs · 27/04/2017 at 20:13

Buddy Is expected to come down further this week, probably close to $20,000 – if you can hold for a week

    bob the builder · 27/04/2017 at 21:24

    i like it

hedski · 27/04/2017 at 20:14

You'd think Ballicker but Ross already has Zaccy D.

Dean · 27/04/2017 at 20:16

Fisher coz Ross LIAR Lyons isn't his trainer. He has already dropped Balic so im sure it'll happen again soon.

    Holty · 27/04/2017 at 20:37

He was injured last week mate. He wasnt omitted.

jonty · 27/04/2017 at 20:16

Eddy, barrett or sps out for balic??

    HarryO · 27/04/2017 at 21:14

i cut eddy. he doesnt look like he's gonna get a game anytime soon.

    redherringfc · 27/04/2017 at 21:24

sps might have maxed. I cut him this week and i held the other two.

Martin · 27/04/2017 at 20:17

Keep or trade Taranto?
is Brett eddy to balic a waste of a trade?
I want to bring in hibberd this week but everyone is saying wait a week..if I don't bring him in what happens if I miss out on points?

Eskimo · 27/04/2017 at 20:24

Shaw or Franklin? I think Franklin because he could go massive this week. I think if Shaw does well he will still not rise by much. I know according to projections wait two more for Franklin, but Swans are hungry and will slaughter Carlton. I predict 170. 😀 Someone can now wake me up from my dream if they like.

    andrewpawiak7 · 27/04/2017 at 20:34

I'm seriously considering jumping on Buddy this week as well despite his BE of 124. If he doesn't reach his BE I think he'll at least ton up, and the Swans have some decent fixtures on the horizon.

    Topknot · 27/04/2017 at 20:42

Probably not much help but buddy hasnt gone huge since he played for hawks so dont bank on that will probably end up goaless

    Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 21:11

    whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 23:57

    Smote · 28/04/2017 at 01:31

Check the weather forecast for mcg.
If its a wet day it might keep Buddy's score low and he'll be even cheaper the following week.
If its dry he'll rip the Blues apart.

Tommo09 · 27/04/2017 at 20:27

SPP or O'Meara out for Balic?

    Eskimo · 27/04/2017 at 20:30

SPP, at least O'meara can pick up 35 touches

      HarryO · 27/04/2017 at 20:55

SPP unless your chasing cash in the bank. JOM's ceiling is good if he gets fit. even if his not he will punch out scores similar to SPP!

    whatyasmokin · 27/04/2017 at 23:58

You've held JOM this long, through a 44 and two weeks out. Gods will burn you and he'll get a 100+

Donny · 27/04/2017 at 20:31

Is anyone thinking of bring in O'Brien for Hawthorn, he looked very good last week, and I think Clarkson will play O'Brien & Sicily for the remainder of the season.

O'Brien is awkwardly priced, but I like his job security over that of Hardwick.

    Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 21:09

    Nope. Go Balic.

    whatyasmokin · 28/04/2017 at 00:00

    A 38 and a 96 with no job security.

Joe · 27/04/2017 at 20:39

26 Trades, 140k – Teams have landed, what's the best trade ths week. 1 or 2 trades?
Shaw, Adams, Tuohy, Marchbank, Otten, Hampton (Hibberd, Newmann)
Pendles, Danger, JPK, Fyfe, Beams, Swallow, P-Pepper, Parfitt (Barrett, Pickett, O'Meara)
Sandi, Martin (Strnadica)
Dahl, Macrae, Nank, Rough, WHE, Butler (Eddy, Taranto)

Rohnyyjohn · 27/04/2017 at 20:40

Can trade swallow to any mid premo but stuffed if i know who dont want to chase points but should i just bring sloane in buying high is not my usual style but my mids are cooked whats everyones thoughts?

    HarryO · 27/04/2017 at 20:54

try not to spend over 600k. so many good premiums bottoming out this week or next around 550k

      Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 21:07

Agree so many options just go 580k<

Jonathan · 27/04/2017 at 20:42

Balic or Fisher

    JDP · 27/04/2017 at 20:55

If you need a DDP go Baltic – if not Fisher. Too hard to no at moment who will score better

    Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 21:05

    Balic purely on DPP

DOwnball · 27/04/2017 at 20:49

Swallow and Spp out for:

1. Wines and Fisher
2. Tex and Newman

    Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 21:06

Don't like either of these trades. Get Treloar/Hanners/Merrett and Fisher and bank the extra cash

Harley balic in for Hoskin elliot a lock. But what to do with second trade
Option one:Joel Smith (injured rookie) to Zac Fisher
Option 2: Parfitt to hannebery

    HarryO · 27/04/2017 at 20:52

smith too fisher… i dont see hanneberry price rise to be big at all so he's still gettable next week. get fisher on the bubble

    JDP · 27/04/2017 at 20:53

    Definately option 2
    Get premium team

Roughy and WHE to Balic and Macrae this week
Also who do I bench out of Marchbank, Otten, Hampton and Newman, can't loophole cause Stewart is playing

    Don't Blush Baby · 27/04/2017 at 21:14

Same, I've left Stewart & Marchbank on the bench, no real reason though, just a gut feeling

    Dusty Spurs · 27/04/2017 at 21:32

It's meant to be wet on Saturday which did not suit Marchbanks game last time. I am going with Newman, Otten and Hampton on field., with Stewart and Marchbank on the bench – this could change

Touk tuk · 27/04/2017 at 21:13

Giving another week for WHE and SPP.Both should hit their BE. Pickett and swallow out for fisher and belic. Belic will carry the DPP in my midfield

    b_sh3p · 27/04/2017 at 22:07

also holding spp and WHE this week for same reason

Peter Demetriou · 27/04/2017 at 21:15

What are your thoughts on Florent to Fisher and B.Eddy to Balic
Something makes me sick about going rookie to rookie by i hate seeing zeros on the bench, especially after having 7 last week.

Greene or Tex as a POD??

    Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 21:27

    probably Greene – looking invincible

    b_sh3p · 27/04/2017 at 22:08

Greene but agree with Bob not exactly a POD

TheGreatBozza · 27/04/2017 at 21:23

I have too many options to consider. Here's my team below:

DEF: Shaw, Laird, Marchbank, Newman, Otten, Hampton (Dtewart, Smith)
MID: Danger, JPK, Treloar, Bont, Adams, Fyfe, Beams, JOM (Barrett, SPP, Parfitt)
R: Grundy, Sandi (Cameron)
FWD: Dahl, Macrae, Nank, Roughy, Taranto, Houston (Hannan, Eddy)
29 trades, 3k bank, 5100 rank

Option 1 – ditch the deadbeat rookies
Eddy/Hannan to Balic
Smith to Fisher via Adams

Option 2 – ditch the deadbeat Hawks
Roughy to Balic
JOM to Hanners

I'm leaning towards option 1 to get some playing rookies in, plus I wouldn't mind waiting on Pendles at a massive discount. However option 2 gives me cash generation, offloads under performers and gives me a discount premo.

    Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 21:46

    Option 2

    Peter Demetriou · 27/04/2017 at 22:19

B.Eddy doesn't look to get a game any time soon, especially now they have some more players back from injury.
I would ditch him for some cash generation and bank the 50k
and swtich for even further cash gen, it's not gonna be easy to make money this year so use your trades to get it.

    Play it safe option 1

mich · 27/04/2017 at 21:24

Out of Parfitt and SPP, safe to say Parfit has better job security?

    Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 21:46

    both good

    whatyasmokin · 28/04/2017 at 00:03

Lenny · 27/04/2017 at 21:27

What do you think of these trades?
Pickett and SPP to Fisher and Balic.
Bank $160

    b_sh3p · 27/04/2017 at 22:08

Like it, doing something similar with swallow out holding Pickett another week

bob the builder · 27/04/2017 at 21:31

Community appreciate your thoughts on this one.
Option 1: Picket>Fisher and WHE>Macrae leaving me only 1k in the bank
Option 2: Pickett>Fisher and WHE>Balic leaving my 409k

The idea of a huge warchest is tempting me with plans to upgrade JOM to pendles soon.
However would it be smarter to begin upgrading and wait for a better rookie to come along rather than balic?

    Finnius123 · 27/04/2017 at 21:52

    2 then upgrade next week

    b_sh3p · 27/04/2017 at 22:14

I'm debating roughy to Balic or macrae this week. I want macrae but also want another premo mid ASAP to replace spp and JOM. I'll get there just not sure of the order. ideas anyone?

If Hibberd scores 100+ this week watch a flock of coaches justify the trade by saying "but he will generate cash"
Yeah maybe 80k after his 4th game. Don't get me wrong he was a 8-10 defender couple of years ago.

I think 99.9% coaches missed his first score so question is what will he average for the rest of the season "that moment you bring him him". Personally i think he is a good enough player to avg 85-90 – but that won't be good enough for D6.

Jimmy · 27/04/2017 at 21:39

Spencer -> Fisher via DPP's (Nank into Ruck)
Roughead -> Macrae
Next week:
Worst performing/biggest BE out of SPP/Parfitt/WHE to Grundy next week when his price drops (Nank forward again)

    triggerfigure · 27/04/2017 at 21:50

watch out for fallen premos next week instead of Grundy unless your ruck stocks are weak

NickMacMan · 27/04/2017 at 21:40

I want to get in Fisherand/or Balic and don't know whether to get rid of jaeger or a rookie who isn't playing like eddy or picket. Also don't know whether or not to go for hanners yet?

Ive got 26 trades left and 600k in the bank and have been scoring pretty well with an average opponent this week.

Cheers boys!

    triggerfigure · 27/04/2017 at 21:49

    eddy to balic (cash cow)

Well JOM and Pickett should both hit BE whilst easy may not get a game for a while if that helps.

go for hanners you have the cash, other rookies will pop up later

triggerfigure · 27/04/2017 at 21:46

Got 24 trades left. Traded out Swallow for Fisher.
Don't know who to trade out for Balic, who also has an uncertain JS.
Possibly could trade out Taranto, SPP, Parfitt, Barrett and Eddy, but all are due to still make cash, or they do not provide any profit.
Who is the safer trade in? Balic or Fisher?
And is better to pass on Balic if I have no one to trade in? Are there any good rookies in the future that I can wait on?

    Russty_ · 27/04/2017 at 23:28

Myers should come in soon, I think Fisher is safer than Balic because Balic's coach is a tool.
You do have someone to trade out…Eddy, no point having him if he's doing sweet F.A.

Yeah I'd do that if I was in your shoes.

    TheScacman · 27/04/2017 at 23:44

Im using Hibberd from North as my loophole, that way if newman goes big on Saturday arvo, i can bring him in for hampton before his game saturday night, otherwise im backing hampton in

      Katherine · 28/04/2017 at 08:13

I am new to SC and have noticed comments about emergency loopholing. I have same players as you. Do I put emergency on Hibberd from North, have Newman on bench and Hampton on field.
Currently I also have Tom Stewart on my bench too. Does Stewart mess the loophole up for me?
      Complicated game this!

        TheScacman · 28/04/2017 at 08:20

You start Hampton on field, put the emergency on Newman. If Newman's score is better than you think Hampton will score, you sub Hibberd on and you get Newman's score as the emergency. This works because Newman plays first, and hibberd's game (the zero score) is before Hampton plays on Sunday

          Katherine · 28/04/2017 at 10:18

Thank you so much. I have a lot to learn about SC and this forem is great except for the insults and bragging.

Blaknight · 27/04/2017 at 21:55

Plan this week for me is to trade 1 of my 2 non playing rookies. Leaving me with 24 Trades and some nice fat rookies.

1 OUT Mountford (mid) IN Balic (fwd) – Parfitt or Taranto to swing into Mid
2 OUT Eddy (fwd) IN Balic (fwd).

Option 1 gives me a DPP in the mid
Option 2 gives me no DPP in mid but I bank $18k (will give me $52.8)

Possibly thinking of 2 trades with having the above 2 both out and going Hardwick but I like Parsons better. Not sure.

Top 0% this week Rank 235 with a 2363
Top 1% overall Rank 1699 with 11087

Happy with my results so far.

Ben · 27/04/2017 at 22:13

Boys thinking about bye rounds I would love to bring in pendles and Shaw into my team over next 2 rounds but does not suit my bye structure should I pass on these guys or is it worth the loss of points in round 13.
I currently have
0 keeps out in round 9
6 out in round 11
2 round 12
And 7 round 13
Is it worth spending extra coin on someone like selwood with round 12 bye instead of pendles to fix this or is points and cash from pendles more valuable

    TheScacman · 27/04/2017 at 23:42

If you're after a premium back who is playing in round 13, target Johannisen or Lloyd for conventional premiums, while someone like Dylan Roberton who is averaging 102, which goes up to 110 if you ignore his 70 points from round one. Looking like a reliable POD

    TBone · 27/04/2017 at 23:20

hibberd, parfitt still has more to make

    Russty_ · 27/04/2017 at 23:31

Yep, Hibberd's a bust, get rid of his non playing ass.

TheScacman · 27/04/2017 at 23:26

If this isn't one of the greatest deposits of wisdom in the calendar year of 2017, i'll eat crouching's slipper

throttlefinger · 27/04/2017 at 23:32

Long. Longer. Acres. Pure gold,Crotching One!

Great to see you on the thread oh brilliant one.

      throttlefinger · 28/04/2017 at 05:20

Wish I could find time to give life a Dusty stiff arm so I could be on here more. Probably help my game. Am suckin' the lemons from the trash bin right now.

Enjoyed your last video. Did you do one post round 5?

        OldOcker · 28/04/2017 at 05:42

I did one on ANZAC day and I am just uploading another one explaining what my plan B is.

Andypandy · 28/04/2017 at 08:19

Which ONE on bench as emergency. WHS, Butler, Taranto or Hannan. Probably the latter?
I also have Florent on my bench. Can I do that Loophole thingy?

    tophawk · 28/04/2017 at 08:33

Hannan is probably your best bet to plonk on the bench. However, if you want to hedge your bets and you want to use Florent as an E loophole option then plonk Taranto on the forward bench with the E on him. Leave Hannan on the other forward bench spot without the E. Whack Florent onto the field in your forward line. Then watch Taranto play tonight. If he scores a biggie (80+) then leave Florent on the field so you will get Taranto's score. If Taranto spuds it up, then move Florent to the bench and whack Hannan on the field.

      Andypandy · 28/04/2017 at 10:37

      Thanks mate

      Andypandy · 28/04/2017 at 23:19

Thanks again Tophawk. Taranto did well, 86 SC points, so with the E on Taranto, Florent stays on the field.

Walla · 28/04/2017 at 08:23

Like the Andy guy. I have Barrett not playing. Surely he will get a game soon?
Can I do the emergency loophole with SPP and O'Meara

    Derek · 28/04/2017 at 08:33

Somehow Berry got another start. He can lose me more cash

      tophawk · 28/04/2017 at 09:45

Its a miracle Berry got named this week. I bought him in last week which is my worst decision this season by far. After that 14 last week, I thought what a wasted bloody trade that is as he will be given the ar-se next week. YOU IDIOT!!!!

Then I find out he is named and Barrett is not??? (I have Barrett too by the way). I just don't get it. I suspect Barrett must be in strife with the coaching panel because of some discliplinary issue. And Berry therefore has had a stay of execution. Wouldn't it be nice if Berry tonnes up this week because he has been given a new role against Port…….. From utter dispair last Saturday to boasting of one of the greatest rookie shark moves in SC history!!

Anyway, lets just hope he improves and makes us some cash this week. I'll be watching closely. Cheers

Derek · 28/04/2017 at 08:47

I hate that feeling when you realise you have been the victim of a con, when you find out that you where had. That sick feeling in your stomach when you know there is nothing you can do about it even though it wasn't your fault.

Same feeling I had when I saw Preuss not named by the North Melbourne Football Club for this weekend.

Brought him in 2 weeks ago when Max went down and played him on field for a below average 60. Last week "rested". Goldy stuffs his ankle and I'm feeling smug! Finally I pulled the right rein in the Ruck Puzzle of SuperCoach 2017…. finally it was my time.

I need to blame someone, but there is only one to blame…… sigh

I have 6 donuts this week, slightly better than the 7 I had last week.

I prefer to get rid of Eddy instead of Preuss, but the Big Guy has let me down.

    BlakeyP · 28/04/2017 at 09:53

Pruess is still an emergency and Goldy this year has looked one kick away from an injury all year.

    babo · 28/04/2017 at 09:59

Goldstein on the radio this morning discussed the young man and how he has been working with him during training a lot, which to Me, reassures that they aim to include him more as the season progresses. Hoping for a 400k top price but ill sell at 360 🙂

      Derek · 28/04/2017 at 10:31

Why isn't he playing. Had his rest.

Ok. Will hold and get rid of Eddy.

        PoppaT · 28/04/2017 at 10:35

Gee, Derek the great SC man even stuffs up. At least it gives mere mortals like myself some slack.
I too had 7 donuts last week, but, only 4 this week.
Good luck Derek and thanks for your SC experience.

Marty · 28/04/2017 at 08:53

Hey guys, need some advice. I have noticed that Dusty and Bont have quite large BE's (i already have pendles). I was going to bring in Nank and Fisher for O'meara and Hoskin-Elliot, which would leave me with 90k, but after finding out that Bont could slip under 600k and Dusty could slip close to 550k, should i hold off this week? Had a poor week so was going to bring in Nank to sure up the team a bit. But if i do the trade, i might miss out on that value. What should i do community?

    Derek · 28/04/2017 at 10:35

Do you want Dusty and/or Bont?

Neither on my want list. Maybe if they dropped to $516k I might consider.

If they are on your list of must haves, I would wait and snap them up at their cheapest

      Marty · 28/04/2017 at 10:41

I would prefer bont, but hard to ignore Dusty at 550k.

Who would you put ahead of those 2?

Andy · 28/04/2017 at 09:57

Treloar danners or titch

Diney · 28/04/2017 at 10:00

One trade this week. Balic for either Pickett or Florent. Probably the former but the latter will give me a bigger amount to add to my war chest, also, might Florent get another go before Pickett?

    tophawk · 28/04/2017 at 10:07

Get rid of Pickett. He has been really really bad. Doubt whether he will play again anytime soon. Florent was OK and he is likely to get a recall sooner. Cheers

      Diney · 28/04/2017 at 10:31

Thanks Tophawk. I have noticed you give out good advice.
Re the emergency loophole thing? I have Balic for Pickett, Barrett and SPP on my bench and JOM on the field. Am I able to loophole. I am very new to SC.

        Derek · 28/04/2017 at 10:39

Not this week. Lions play Port and fremantle play after Lions.

          Diney · 28/04/2017 at 10:57

I don't understand exactly, but can't do so thanks Derek.

tophawk · 28/04/2017 at 10:01

Just checking out the SC breakevens and I notice that Jarrod Berry is only a 6% chance to hit his break even of 37!! Hahahahaha

It is a miracle the pri-ck was named this week after his 14 last round. Even more incredibly, Jake Barrett was not!!! I suspect Barrett is in some strife with the coaching panel which has ensured Berry has had a stay of execution.

Be funny if Berry is given a role change against Port and he tonnes up……. LOL After utter dispair and self hatred, Derek and I will be doing cartwheels in the lounge room in celebration. I know I will.

Doubt it will happen, but please make me some god damn cash this week on the bench!!! Its only 37 you gotta hit!!! Pull your finger out!!! Dammittt

    Derek · 28/04/2017 at 10:48

    I'm amazed he is playing.

He has had Zac Dawson like numbers. 12 kicks in 3 games!

I'm hoping that the Lions at home this week might go close to a win and our man gets near it.

Newman back so I won't have to have Berry on field.

As we always say, the Menapoo affect…. one good score is all we need!

VARC · 28/04/2017 at 10:04

Looking to upgrade this week but not sure which way to go. Will be going Swallow to Balic but then not sure who to upgrade to Hanners. Presently think Taranto > Hanners and using all of my cash (means Parfitt/Balic are permanent F6) or do I go JOM > Hannebery and leave myself ~80k for future upgrades.

Thoughts? Currently 27 trades and in top 2%

Hinch · 28/04/2017 at 10:08

Fantastic podcast! Bloody beautiful community!

Quick one, looking to upgrade WHE
Was thinking either Cameron or Franklin? Or anyone else that springs to mind? Plenty of cash in the bank and my forward line is currently:
Dahlhaus/MacRae/T. Walker/Nankervis/Steele/WHE (Taranto/Eddy)

Would love your thoughts!

    tophawk · 28/04/2017 at 10:16

Hi Hinch. Your forward lines looks pretty solid for this time of the season. Surely you must have some more pressing challenges on your other lines?

You could downgrade WHE to someone like Balic if you dont already have him? Put some coin into the warchest and then upgrade to a premo in your midfield or backline this week or next week? You could loophole Taranto by putting him on your bench with the E. Put Eddy on the field and see how Taranto goes. If he screws up, put Eddy back on the bench and give Balic a run on the field.

    Cheers Hinch

      Hinch · 28/04/2017 at 10:41

I was seriously considering Balic but we all know how Ross has been in the past!
Reason for doing this was because I have Ryder/Witts as my ruck with Hickey sidelined yet again so was going to downgrade him and then upgrade WHE to someone.
But now I reckon I may downgrade WHE to Balic, I was going to give SPP another week but may even upgrade him. Or just do the one trade for the week WHE to Balic maybe…..

      You're a legend tophawk!

Alex · 28/04/2017 at 11:35

    Russty_ · 28/04/2017 at 20:20

    Yes, Cripps, exists.

Krazee-Eyez Killa · 28/04/2017 at 12:05

going to try and generate some cash and get some kids on the bubble this week.

Deluca-Cardillo to Balic – Picket to Z Fisher.

dropped around 1000 spots to 1800 odd, which sucks.

this leaves me with 25 trades and 125k in the bank.

Another thing, do we keep players like Otten and Zak Jones in our def this season? they're both averaging around 90 which is solid.

    Russty_ · 28/04/2017 at 16:30

I don't have Jones but do have Otten, I'm hanging onto Otten for sure and would Jones too if they continue to average numbers like that.
Them doing so well allows us to strengthen other lines and kick some butt 🙂

      Krazee-Eyez Killa · 28/04/2017 at 16:34

yeah I'm leaning towards keeping them both. both have job security. Jones is getting better and better. will be considered a premium defender soon enough.

Andrew · 28/04/2017 at 12:19

Balic or Parfitt on field this week? Can't loophole as Pickett/Eddy play beforehand.

Hawkeye · 28/04/2017 at 13:38

At this stage I have Fyfe as VC and Danger again as Captain.
Tempted to try Buddy as VC and who or C?

    Krazee-Eyez Killa · 28/04/2017 at 16:35

I'm going buddy VC, then maybe C on fyfe of selwood. can see fyfe getting up for the derby

Top Gun · 28/04/2017 at 18:01

Have a feeling Josh Kennedy might go big so VC on him and then Danger for the C. Fyfe ready to go big too with a few games under the belt.

Northerner · 28/04/2017 at 21:54

Taranto will be a beast. Sensational 3rd quarter in a great contest. Patience will pay off when there's such class for those of us that have held him. Watched the "draft" match in GF week and he was sensational. Holders will be rewarded!

Moosehead · 29/04/2017 at 09:31

Northerner, I too kept Taranto, watched the game and will take his 86 points with glee, however Taranto was NOT sensational. Are you simply a little overexcited because you didn't follow the pack mentality. The 30% of SCers who kept him will hope he can keep his spot for another couple of games because there is some GWS talent coming back very soon.

Panarama · 29/04/2017 at 09:36

Weather will be dampish at the MCG today but very tempted to VC Buddy against my Blueboys. Have VC on Fyfe and C on Danger again at the moment but uneasy about Danger!

Sausy · 29/04/2017 at 09:45

BT is an infuriating commenter to listen too. He asks the other panellists their opinion before he gives his, does not always identifiy players and often says 'And Cameron is about to kick his fourth goal, oh, he missed to the right'. l just wish he wish he would shut up so I can watch the game on TV in peace. And yes BT lovers, I simply turn the TV down but value Lingy etc comments.
What does my comments have to do with SC? Nothing, but I feel better now. He, he.

Conners · 29/04/2017 at 12:56

Will take Tarantos score, but who drop out for him. Roughy or Steele?

Abdul_Haquef · 27/12/2018 at 15:59

Great podcast guys. Can hear the growing confidence oozing out of you two! Ross Lyon is confident that Walters will be back this week. Very glad that I held!
