Supercoach RD4: LekDog’s Cheat Sheet

Published by Lekdog on

G’day Community Lekdog here.

We’re still in the early parts of the season so there is not a whole lot of movements to be made. We have a few hold options and some decent rookie options for those who have non-playing players on the bench.
The big news of the week is that Gawn is out for 12 weeks, how can we recover? Some obvious options are Stef Martin (the best option in my opinion), Brodie Grundy (a close second with upside), Matthew Kreuzer (Phillips set to come back soon will hurt him), Jarrod Wiits and Braydon Preuss. Well I can’t recommend trading down to a rookie from Gawn so I’d be looking at premium options for the sake of your sanity.
Ablett and Hanneberry showed us why we need to hold onto our under performing premiums whilst Shaw and Simpson are still not quite there, hopefully they explode soon! Who do you have that’s not cutting the mustard?
As always make sure you check out the SuperCoach ‘Who Should I Start’ tool over at our great supporters Fantasy Insider – I’m back on their advice and I had a slightly better round scoring 2164 despite my complete inability to select a decent captain.

See you in the comments, Lekdog.

Matt Crouch – hold or trade? Have about 60k in the bank. I'm thinking of holding but he hasn't scored well so far.

    KICKITDOWNTHEGUTS · 12/04/2017 at 17:46

I have the same problem, but with $130k in the bank.
I considered him a keeper when I picked him so I'm doing my best to stick to the advice of the good man Jock and not trade premiums for the sake of it, but it's getting closer to making the cut….tough one.

      Derek · 12/04/2017 at 18:56

If he is your biggest problem, you are doing ok

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:49

I'm a hold but I don't have the problem of owning him haha

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:05

Don't trade premos. But is he a premium? Conundrum.

    Pablo · 13/04/2017 at 09:07

I traded him this week to Adams. With DPP he is a keeper in DEF so I will swing him there is the next few rounds rookies depending.

    Chook · 13/04/2017 at 13:26

I have the same problem and can't work out whether to correct him or Howe. I'd love to give some advice but right now im struggling with it myself!

    Adrian · 13/04/2017 at 15:29

I hear you mate…..I initially traded Crouch out to Dusty, which left me only $900 cash, but then l reversed the trade. Will give him one more week, mid term plan is to bring dusty and hanners in. Am thinking that l can afford to wait one more week on hanners, with the swannies in perth tonight so not sure how he will go, but having lost three games, they will be firing big time you would think, but eagles are pretty good at home…argh what to do… taking the risk that he has an average game, his price drops another week, and then bang trade him in next week or two for pepper powell (with a good game may rise to $260K) or swallow may rise to $350k (next week of the week after). That then gives me an upgrade to Hanners

Then fingers crossed Dusty's price comes down and l can trade swallow up…..argh the supercoach gods l am in your hand.

Then hopefully for swallow if he gets on the park this weekend, pending his corky.

Sam · 12/04/2017 at 17:48

Great stuff lekdog…keen to get your thoughts on Pickett. Will he come good or cut loose now for Broomhead?

    Sam · 12/04/2017 at 17:56

Just had my eyes checked…Broomhead is 180K not 118! Answers my own question

    Kev · 12/04/2017 at 18:02

I'd give him a few more weeks. His scoring is expected of a small forward, just needs that one big game. Scored 86 from 12p and 3 goals in a JLT match so he's capable. Of course if the Blues drop him then move on

    Tinnies · 12/04/2017 at 18:07

I'd probably cut eddy first (if you got him) as picket will play all season one would think

      Mich · 12/04/2017 at 18:14

If picket doesn't get dropped , he should. Its painful to watch him play footy

Hgfghgfjfghh · 12/04/2017 at 17:49

Trade J Smith or Hibberd to Newman

    Tinnies · 12/04/2017 at 18:04

Hibberd. Smith in back in 3-4 and started in Melbourne round 1 side, so obviously rated and look good for all of a quarter…

      BrownlowBoy · 12/04/2017 at 18:15

Try 3-4 months Tinnies. Trade Smith.

      hedski · 12/04/2017 at 18:55

    Derek · 12/04/2017 at 18:54

Smith gone long time. Hibberd had DPP can be handy

Chriso · 12/04/2017 at 17:49

Ryder to witts?? Thoughts would be appreciated

    Finnius · 12/04/2017 at 18:01

    Get in nankdaddy

      Chriso · 12/04/2017 at 18:32

Got him in forward line :/

    Micky_B · 12/04/2017 at 19:14

Yes if it helps to fix another problem. dont think he will last the season but should get to a 400-450k price which is enough

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:06

Like Witts even at 290K. Now or never.

    mfawcett77 · 12/04/2017 at 22:13

he's only got the week. Waste of a trade if you ask me.

Finnius · 12/04/2017 at 18:01

Pickett to Swallow?

    Bloods · 12/04/2017 at 18:31

I'm in but I went eddy, kept pickett and move parfitt forward

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:06

    Like it.

    Danners · 12/04/2017 at 22:08

    Sounds good

Waz · 12/04/2017 at 18:06

Have Bob Murphy in my backline.. Is a premo on the simmer.. Thinking of trading in Newman then using the cash to trade Taranto up to M Murphy in my midfield. Thoughts?

    Neverweaken · 12/04/2017 at 19:40

I've traded out BMurph for Newman. Just doesn't seem to set up defence the way he used to

Rick Grimes · 12/04/2017 at 18:13

I can't decide whether to keep TTBoy or trade him to Swallow. I like the thought of his 100points at m8, but TT might be good for 75-80 and will generate cash, albeit slowly. Decisions decisions..

    hedski · 12/04/2017 at 19:03

Give TT a few weeks, I reckon heaps of people will buy into Swallow and get BURNT.

    Youngster · 12/04/2017 at 20:10

haha. Don't blow a trade on TTBoy just yet

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:46

Hold as long as he is named this week

Micky_B · 12/04/2017 at 18:17

Omeara to swallow a good or bad idea?

    Derek · 12/04/2017 at 18:48

Did you listen to the Podcast?

      Micky_B · 12/04/2017 at 19:10

Not yet. Haven't had the time. What was the verdict?

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:07

    Extra trade used.

Round 9 bye. JOM round 13 bye. Up to you.

Campbell · 12/04/2017 at 18:28

Lekdog what is your verdict on O'Meara. I am going to hold him this week but just wanted to know your thoughts.

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:43

    Hold and observe

    INPieman · 12/04/2017 at 20:47

I'm hoping everyone hops off. I think he can rise to 450+ at some point. Missed 2 years of footy & needs some continuity. Had 36 touches 2 weeks ago so he knows how to find it. Hold

    Beezneez · 13/04/2017 at 14:10

He didn't score well last week when I was going to trade him for Murphy – cost me 60-70 odd points. I just wish he'd kick the ball more often to advantage instead of handballing it. Having said that, I am now contemplating holding off on my trade again to Murphy and going Hibberd to Swallow. Don't think I'll be getting Murphy at all now because he'll be mid 500K next week.. Hope everyone's right about O'Meara turning it around.

      Beezneez · 13/04/2017 at 16:32

      Make that 114 points

CJay · 12/04/2017 at 18:29

Thanks for adding Caddy to the sheet Lek as it makes me feel a bit better about trading him.
On the back of 94 and 90 average the past two years and more mid time at Richmond, a 100 average in 2017 appeared achievable.
Should have seen the writing on the wall with the pre season form but assumed he would improve from R1.
Think I will cut my losses and jump on the Roo train as I can't see him being any cheaper for a long time.
What are other 's doing?
Holding or trading Caddy?
Jumping on the Roo train or picking up later?

    Neverweaken · 12/04/2017 at 19:43

I traded out Caddy last week for WHE.
Unfortunately I also traded out Roo expecting 3+ weeks out.
Thinking of trading out JOM for him.

      CJay · 12/04/2017 at 20:11

As Jock said, you could be forgiven for trading out Roo.
Roo said himself may be out for up to 6 on the footy show.

    dave · 13/04/2017 at 08:29

Do Jock's question on him — 'Do you genuinely believe Caddy will be a top 5 supercoach jet at end of season?' No? trade him now when theres so many cash gen options around. Yes? then keep, and give me some of those drugs youre on lol.. nah just saying coz traded him out last week so hoping it doesnt backfire

    Bock Choy · 13/04/2017 at 13:28

I had to trade Gawn (Martin) and Smith (Newman) this week, so kept Caddy safe. His 3 scores have been 72 (sub-par), 92 (par) and 33 (putrid). He didn't seem to have a hard defensive role against the Eagles, so not sure where the drop off came.

I had him in as a mid pricer who would either grow into a premo or remain as a stepping stone for an upgrade. I'll see how he goes – he is the first candidate on the stepping stone block (as I expect JOM, Sandi and Rough to rise in value).

I'm pleased my choices on trades matched Lekdog's advice. Martin is slightly cheaper ($10k), has a slightly higher average in 2017 and has the runs on the board over a few seasons. Grundy is a good chance to breakout this year but at this stage, not taking the risk.

    Smith to Newman is obvious.

    joe444 · 14/04/2017 at 09:15

Richmond fans are about to find out why Geelong were happy to Josh "irrelevant to the outcome" Caddy; for the love of god, trade him out.

Youngy · 12/04/2017 at 18:51

Solid Cheatsheet Lek. Look forward to the cheat sheet every Wednesday.

Lek will we see a reemergence of Lekdog's weekly super coach videos this year?

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:37

Not weekly but I'd like to get some stuff up. Maybe some tactical stuff unsure? What would you like to see?

      hedski · 12/04/2017 at 21:16

You shaving that dirty tash?? Ha. Just kiddin .

      DacZawson · 12/04/2017 at 23:04

I just enjoyed the general Supercoach chat that you presented us with. It's been too long since you've put a video out. Maybe a controversial call but I rated "Mo' Supercoach News" more than I rate the podcast now.

      Youngy · 12/04/2017 at 23:16

Lek anything you produce will be loved. Some tactical stuff would be good. Personally, I really enjoyed your weekly update vids but I understand that you might not have the time to produce videos every week.

Maybe as the byes approach you could make a video about the byes, going through your plans and trades and just handing out your wisdom, helping coaches through the most difficult time of the season.

Alby · 12/04/2017 at 18:59

I have Vickers Willis in my back line and Hibberd in the middle with no way to get him into the back. Basically will Vickers Willis get a game or am I best getting rid of him for Newman.

    Shane · 12/04/2017 at 19:01

    Yep i would

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:34

    Drop him for Newman

    joey jojo · 13/04/2017 at 11:46

keep him man – evw will come good later – you have 4 rookies in def im guessing who'll make you more than enough

Shane · 12/04/2017 at 18:59

Doch, Adams, Laird, Mbank, Otten, Hampton, (Stewart, Hibberd)
Danger, JPK, Fyfe, Beams, Shuey, T.Mitchell,Trelaor, Pepper (Barrett, Parfitt, Maynard)
Nank, Sandi (Strnadica)
Dahl, Macrae, J.Kennedy, Houston, Hoskin,Elliott, Butler ( Eddy, Pickett)

    hedski · 12/04/2017 at 19:04

    Looks good

    Northernsoul74 · 12/04/2017 at 19:13

How comfortable are you without any ruck cover? Sandi with no cover makes me nervous.

      Shane · 12/04/2017 at 19:47

Yeah i in trouble if one goes down witts is next option

hedski · 12/04/2017 at 19:10

D.Cameron injured his shoulder in NEAFL on weekend, not sure how bad.

    Captain Risky · 12/04/2017 at 20:01

I was wondering what happened. With Naismith out I thought , ' gee he must be really shite'.

He's warming my Fwd bench at present, eventually he'll be on ruck bench for DPP swing. All those Sydney rucks seem to be made out of paper mache. The could have used the Nank this year! Good thing we have him at the tigers 🙂

Micky_B · 12/04/2017 at 19:12

Not sure why but for some reason i started with tom lynch from gold coast. Hold him or downgrade? Could help me get some slightly underpriced premos in the upcoming weeks

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:34

    Northerner · 12/04/2017 at 22:03

I have him. My worst pick. He's OK and will come good. Was at Sunday's game and the Suns worked out just to get it in to Lynch. He took on 3 at every contest and they kicked a mountain of crumbling goals off him. He could have easily kicked 2 in first quarter and ended with 3-4 for the game and would have tonned up in a quietish game for him if he had. I see him going strong shortly.

Touk tuk · 12/04/2017 at 19:18

Fox or not to Fox…..

    Micky_B · 12/04/2017 at 20:33

    No, job security an issue

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:09

Tough call. He is mature age and probably will get games through the year. Bargain at 100K.

Don't expect him to get to a good value before byes, could be a slow burn and downgrade before finals.

    Danners · 12/04/2017 at 22:09

Fox if you have other playing midfielders so he could be a loophole option later on

Youngy · 12/04/2017 at 19:23

Bit depressing that I miss out on Fox and Hayward. As my trades will obviously be bringing in Newman and getting rid of Gawn

    hedski · 12/04/2017 at 19:27

Don't reckon your missing much Youngy.
    Got same trades.

      Youngy · 12/04/2017 at 20:09

I just want to get rid of Mountford

        hedski · 12/04/2017 at 21:17

        Fair enough, spud.

          Youngy · 12/04/2017 at 21:33

If only I had of picked Parfitt instead.

    TBone · 12/04/2017 at 19:32

I dont think their job security is too great, honestly its probably a blessing mate

    mungoman · 13/04/2017 at 10:21

you will only miss out on 55k on fox…

TBone · 12/04/2017 at 19:27

What do you guys think of the team going into this weekend?

Shaw, Laird, Rance, Marchbank, Hampton, Newman (Stewart, Hibberd)

Danger, JPK, Treloar, Fyfe, Wines, Beams, JOM, SPP ( Barrett, Florent, Pickett)

Grundy, Sandilands (Strnadica)

Dahl, Macrae, Nank, Petracca, Butler, Bowes (Parfitt, Eddy)

Any more trades I should make this week or look to make? Cheers

    davo · 12/04/2017 at 19:40

Looking pretty good maybe Bowes but don't know who for?

      TBone · 12/04/2017 at 19:48

yeah thats what im thinking. But who for is the question?

    Shane · 12/04/2017 at 20:14

    Get hayward

      TBone · 12/04/2017 at 20:55

      I was considering that!

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:30

    Eddy to Fox via Pickett

      TBone · 12/04/2017 at 20:54

you reckon fox's js is okay lek?

      Kurt · 12/04/2017 at 21:12

Also how do I trade eddy to fox? eddy is only a Fwd i believe

        whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 22:52

        Via Pickett*

Trade out Eddy. Move Pickett to forward line, trade in Fox.

    Tibor · 12/04/2017 at 21:02

Nice work on Petracca as a pod. I thought about this one and chickened out thought he was a bit Jeremy Howe in that what he does is pretty special but he doesn't do enough. Looking ok and will have a break out game then anything is possible

      Kurt · 12/04/2017 at 21:09

As a melbourne supporter I had to back a dees player in my squad, and it looks to be his year. Yeah im super happy with him so far. Hoping he can get to around $500,000 or so. I was gonna chicken out to Nank but thank god i held. Ended up trading roughy to nank instead

        whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:10

Interesting, wouldn't count my chickens on Petracca being a better pick than Roughy just yet though.

          TBone · 12/04/2017 at 21:17

Maybe not, but Im backing him to keep performing and love the way he plays irl too

            whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:23

Yep like the way he goes about it for sure.

          Tibor · 12/04/2017 at 22:40

You could be right smokin but petracca is a genuine pod and from the start a very risky mid price option, someone else made a comment about so many teams being so similar it's good to see the odd bit of mid price madness succeed.

By the way have you had any direct contact with Jesse Hogan this week?

            whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 23:22

It was a special blend I'll let you know that much………..

Neverweaken · 12/04/2017 at 19:47

1. Trade out JOM for NRoo?
2. Trade out JOM for Cotchin?
3. Sit on JOM for a few more weeks

    Youngy · 12/04/2017 at 20:09

    Youngster · 12/04/2017 at 20:12

    Option 3 IMO

    SF4 · 12/04/2017 at 20:15

Out of the 2 it would be Rooey, but holding onto JOM isn't a bad idea.

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:27

    Micky_B · 12/04/2017 at 20:33

Steve · 12/04/2017 at 19:57

Trading out Gawn, through DPP do I bring in

A. Dusty
B. Swallow
C. Wait a week and bring in Hannebery
D. Pendlebury

Thoughts please.

    Shane · 12/04/2017 at 20:13

    SF4 · 12/04/2017 at 20:16

Pendles, good for a 120+ almost every week and will finish as a top mid for sure.

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:28

    A for a POD

      Northerner · 12/04/2017 at 22:05

I agree. We are potentially looking at another Danger.

    Micky_B · 12/04/2017 at 20:34

Dusty, i think he'll have the best average from here on in

JEL · 12/04/2017 at 20:02

Hmmmm, Swallow showing up as 'Corked quad, subject to fitness test'

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:28

    He'll play

Brad · 12/04/2017 at 20:08

What's the word on bringing in Nick Riewoldt, a bit of cash on hand after double downgrade last week. Bowe out Riewoldt in??

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:28

    Do it

    Micky_B · 12/04/2017 at 20:34

Cr0magn0n · 12/04/2017 at 20:09

Great work as always LekDog. I needed this advice, I started with Caddy….. FMSC

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:28

I changed at the very last minute

Steeeve · 12/04/2017 at 20:11

Goldy out to Witt's should still give me enough money to then go Pickett to Hanners next week and Matching to Simpson the week after. Aiming for full promo as early as possible.

    Micky_B · 12/04/2017 at 20:35

Do it. Witts can go at 100 for a few more weeks 95+ for the season

Sam · 12/04/2017 at 20:24

Should I get rid of Hibberd for Newman
Switch Hibberd to my mid and rid of Mountford for Newman

Who is most likely to come back into the north side out of the two?

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:29

I think Mountford is more likely to play

    NickMacMan · 12/04/2017 at 21:11

    out hibberd

    Blaknight · 12/04/2017 at 23:23

The exact question and answer i was looking for.

Tommo09 · 12/04/2017 at 20:33

Smith to Newman
Gawn to Nank

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 20:58

    Youngy · 12/04/2017 at 21:34

    Good Trades

Brad · 12/04/2017 at 20:44

I'm underwhelmed by Zac Merrett Lachie Neale at the moment

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:51

    Hold son

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:01

    126, 112, 98…………….Merrett going fine.

83, 129, 84 a bit more understandable but still decent.

    Hold both.

    Northernsoul74 · 12/04/2017 at 22:01

    Bloody harsh on Merrett.

    Swans2012 · 12/04/2017 at 22:51

Giant hold, don't even consider whether these were bad selections until the end of the year

Jono · 12/04/2017 at 20:45

Gawn to witts ans JOM to Dusty with no coin left over or Gawn to Stef and $84k change???

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:51

    Gawn to Stef

    Top hawk · 12/04/2017 at 20:52

If Archie Smith is a non selection for Brisbane, just go Gawn to Stef and save that trade. Cheers

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:02

Both reasonable options gawn to Stef the wise play, and saves a trade later if Witts isn't a keeper. Going by history…..he isn't.

Top hawk · 12/04/2017 at 20:47

Great cheat sheet Lek.

Love your endorsement of Stefan Martin.

I started with the big Stef and I have no regrets. Martinlands!! (A dirty word only 2 weeks ago) As a Lone wolf ruckman, he is simply the best.

Hopefully the Brisbane selection panel don't shi-t in their own "den" and select Archie Smith. Even so, I now have the Nank to sort that 'pride" fight out.

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 20:52

If I didn't go Nankilands/Witts I was going Hickey and Martin. Martin bloody gun.

      Top hawk · 12/04/2017 at 21:14

Right now, you have the perfect ruck combo, for points, $ generation and no Gawn/Goldy nightmares.

Despite my envy, I am very happy with my ruck combo, and glad I avoided the Gawn "Goldy locks" TRAP.

Andy Parker · 12/04/2017 at 20:58

Caddy to Josh Kelly or Heppell

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:04

    Hep D

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 21:07

    Don't like either but Hep

      whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:15

      Andy Parker · 12/04/2017 at 21:29

      Thanks LEKDOG

Interested as to why Heppell is no good?

I have $564,900 where would you be putting your coin?

        Youngy · 12/04/2017 at 21:35

Heppel won't be a top 8 mid, that is why he is bad

          Andy Parker · 12/04/2017 at 21:37

          Gotcha, thanks mate…

        SF4 · 12/04/2017 at 23:28

If you wait a week you can get hanners in.

        Tim · 13/04/2017 at 07:15

        Hanners is $561k.

          Neverweaken · 13/04/2017 at 07:51

          Won't be next week

Tim · 12/04/2017 at 21:01

Trade Gawn for Stef Martin/Grundy or Nankervis + pocket the extra cash?

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:04

Grundy, Nank, Martin I reckon in order. There are good arguments for all 3 though.

    hedski · 12/04/2017 at 21:22

    Danners · 12/04/2017 at 22:10

Nankervis to see how the ruck situation goes

Hawks · 12/04/2017 at 21:02

Who to start on field JOM or Powell-Pepper?

I have no loophole.

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:04

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 21:09

    hedski · 12/04/2017 at 21:23

    SPP, cattas will smash hawks.

      whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:51

Was thinking that, but then thought about GWS smashing Port.

        hedski · 12/04/2017 at 22:16

        Not as bad.

    Youngy · 12/04/2017 at 21:24

    poloko48 · 12/04/2017 at 22:20

Have a feeling Hawks & JOM will hit back this week….

      whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 22:51

Liam · 12/04/2017 at 21:04

Have Sandi/Gawn/Strnadica
Gawn to Martin (This option keeps the Nank FWD structure)
Smith to Newmann

Gawn to Newmann
Hibberd/Eddy to Roo (This option puts Nank in the Ruck)

Other options?

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 21:10

    NickMacMan · 12/04/2017 at 21:10

I've got the exact same problem i think so keen to see other responses, in saying that i think i will be going option 1 as nank down forward is huge cover and roo could easily go down again

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:14

Kurt · 12/04/2017 at 21:04

Cheers for the awesome cheat sheet Lekdog!

Who's looking better for job security out of Fox and Hayward?

Should I be getting rid of Bowes, Eddy or Pickett this week?

    LEKD0G · 12/04/2017 at 21:10

Couldn't say out of Fox and Hayward, I feel like Hayward just but I don't know.

    Of those Eddy

      Kurt · 12/04/2017 at 21:20

Cheers! Ill look to move him on

    Hawks · 12/04/2017 at 21:12

    Hayward just.

Move Pickett, just can't see him making any real cash

      Kurt · 12/04/2017 at 21:21

you reckon? looks like carlton will keep playing him though, so tells me he'll at least be making something

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:20

I think it's impossible to say who they'll go with when Heeney and Rohan come back. They tend to play forward.

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:22

Eddy I guess considering he's been dumped.

      Kurt · 12/04/2017 at 21:27

yeah that is worrying me a lot with their js. it makes me not want to go either which such uncertainty

        whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:55

I'm warming to Fox because he's mature age, and so cheap.

Maybe more versatile than Hayward as well Fox began his VFL career as a rebounding defender.

Captain Risky · 12/04/2017 at 21:05

Anyone putting Preuss on the field this week?

I've got Sandi up against Spencer(?) which should be fine, but Witts has Kreuzer. Still unsure how Preuss and Goldy will share duties so Preuss probably on the bench for me.. Thoughts?

    Hawks · 12/04/2017 at 21:10

    Preuss on bench

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:13

Witts had 40 hitouts and 13 touches vs Hawks last week, couldn't be thinking of benching him surely.

      Tibor · 12/04/2017 at 22:57

Who did the. Hawks have in the ruck

        DacZawson · 12/04/2017 at 23:09

        Big Boy

        Randomcliche2 · 13/04/2017 at 14:18

Who had done okay over the previous fortnight, but they really need ceglar back as the two ruckman fair quite differently against a number of rucks….except sandi or a fit gawn/goldy, where they both just suck.

Boltons Blues · 12/04/2017 at 21:05

Need Newman, i have 3 stains in my backline, 1 injury, 1 doesnt play, 1 which is giving me the runs, who do i trade out of Stewart, Smith or Hibbered

    Hawks · 12/04/2017 at 21:10

Smith, 3-4 months from a return

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 12/04/2017 at 22:05

Got those 3 as well bolts.
Newman straight in on Monday for Smith.
Stewart still playing so will make cash slowly
Hibberd will keep for the moment as could be a good DPP ?
    Trade the injured guy

NickMacMan · 12/04/2017 at 21:08

Gawn for witts or martin?

Also have nank forward and stacks of money in the bank

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:11

Probably martin if already cashed up, Witts unlikely to be a keeper and round 9 bye,.

Jono · 12/04/2017 at 21:16

No loop hole and need to field three out of Hampton, otten, marchbank, Newman and Stewart…thinking otten, Newman and marchbank

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:21

That's who I'm running, Hampton and McGrath benched.

    Youngy · 12/04/2017 at 21:36

Agree Ill be running Otten, Newman and March with Hampton and Stewart Benched

Stav · 12/04/2017 at 21:34

Am I crazy to play Sandi ahead of Nank this week? Despite projections, I reckon Sandi will dominate Spencer regardless of the result. Also Nank against Martin, Martin is as good if not better around the ground. Thoughts?

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:49

Who are your rucks and why do you have to bench one?

    Kev · 12/04/2017 at 21:52

Stef's work around the ground won't stop Nank doing his thing. Even though he doesn't win a lot of hitouts his HtA% is pretty high.

Spencer will at least give a contest at 203cm/105kgs

    Northernsoul74 · 12/04/2017 at 22:04

You have Nank on the bench? That's way too much cash sitting on the bench, swing him to your fwd line asap.

Ben · 12/04/2017 at 21:42

Anyone worried about houstons job sec?

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:49

No because Eddy was dropped for Pittard.

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 21:58

Also think there are a couple of others at port that aren't having an impact and have poor disposal efficiency, Houston has started well and should hold his spot.

      hedski · 12/04/2017 at 22:19

      Fantastic by foot also.

    Swans2012 · 12/04/2017 at 22:51

    Youngy · 13/04/2017 at 09:03

I have bigger problems to worry about then his JS

poloko48 · 12/04/2017 at 22:12

Have decided to hold JOM for another week, so no Swallow for me (probably best…not that way inclined).
So OUT ZGuthrie IN Newman, OUT Mountford IN Fox
$19.5K & 26 trades left:

DEF: Adams, Heater, Otten, Simmo, Marchbank. Hampton, (Stewart, Newman)
MID: Danger, Fyfe, JPK, Beams, Treloar, Prestia, SPP, JOM (Fox, Barrett, Pickett)
RUC: Sandiwitts (Preuss)
FWD: Nank, Dahl, Buddy, Macrae, Roughy, Butler (Hannan, Eddy)

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 22:37

    Looks good.

Jimmy · 12/04/2017 at 22:18

hibbered to Newman
mountford to fox

are these good trades

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 22:36

Yeah you have too many zeros, you require cash generation bigtime.

    Tiger · 12/04/2017 at 22:39

First trade good , no to second as I think the fox could outfox you so to speak. Job security not great I think

      whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 22:50

True could be a wasted trade, but doesn't look great for Mountford either.

    Northerner · 13/04/2017 at 05:56

I like it. Mountford uncertain and you need cash generation on your bench. If Mountford named I'd hold him though otherwise go Fox

Jimmy · 12/04/2017 at 22:20

this is my team btw

DEF: Laird, Lloyd, Howe, Otten, Marcbank, Hampton (Stewart, Hibberd)
MID: Dangerfield, Pendles, Rockliff, Fyfe, Priddis, Ablett, Powell-Pepper, O'Meara (Barret, Parfitt, Mountford)
RUCK: Nankervis, Sandilands (Strndica)
FWD: JJK, Greene, Macrae, Roughead, Butler, Houstan (Eddy, Pickett)

Kenna · 12/04/2017 at 22:41

Nobody is talking about Tom Williamson from Carlton …he scored 70 odd and is 117k in defence
I know he is not proven and can assess one more week

But say if balic and berry have good games on the weekend and even Williamson has a good one..we won't be able to get all three

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 22:49

He's one to look at for sure. Especially if you don't trust Lyon…..

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 12/04/2017 at 22:52

Both Berry and Balic had quiet games last week hence a low score
They won't go up that much esp if one has another quiet game so if Williamson has another good game can bring him in next week if selected and one of Balic or berry if they improve and if you want the other the week after after as that low score from last week will still be their be week avg so will still be affordable.

    Northerner · 13/04/2017 at 05:54

Getting Williamson this week could be your shark move if all 3 ton up this week, but very low prob.

    BrownlowBoy · 13/04/2017 at 10:18

Williamson when he is on the bubble. But yes, it is a risk that we will not be able to get all 3 next week.

Steve · 12/04/2017 at 22:42

Gawn to Swallow and then bring in Hanners next week OR Gawn to a Bont/Sloane?

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 22:54

I'm not convinced with swallow, although go with your gut.

      Jordan · 12/04/2017 at 23:14

      Jacob Mitchell?

    SF4 · 12/04/2017 at 23:22

Can't go wrong with the Bont.

      Supercoachgod · 12/04/2017 at 23:25

      Look at comments below

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 23:23

Think they are all good options in their own right.

    SF4 · 12/04/2017 at 23:33

Cant go wrong with the Bont.

Supercoachgod · 12/04/2017 at 23:24

I'd also go with the Bont I heard Sloane is carrying a corked thigh from a marking contest last week.. a fitnesss test will determine whether he plays or not

Supercoachgod · 12/04/2017 at 23:24

I accidentally comented below

John · 12/04/2017 at 23:30

Who would u move on first Taranto or omeara?

    Northerner · 13/04/2017 at 05:52

      BradK · 13/04/2017 at 09:32

      Get rid if taranto first!!

    whatyasmokin · 13/04/2017 at 09:45

SF4 · 12/04/2017 at 23:32

Trade in Stef Martin or Nank for Goldy. Whoever I trade in will ruck alongside Grundy.

    Northerner · 13/04/2017 at 05:48

      Northerner · 13/04/2017 at 05:51

But my view is Goldy played forward because of his ankle. Pruess is over hyped IMO at the moment. In 2 weeks Goldy will be back to tonning up and Pruess will be back to 40-80 volatility.

        whatyasmokin · 13/04/2017 at 09:46

Agreed, I'd hold Goldy if I owned him.

Jordan · 12/04/2017 at 23:36

Who to give the flick McGrath, Taranto or omeara

    Northerner · 13/04/2017 at 05:45

You don't need to get rid of any. Only trade if you must. Find another way to get in a must have. But if say you have to move on one to get in Newman then I'd flick JOM.

    Danners · 13/04/2017 at 06:40

Taranto, JS is the lowest out of the 3 and his scoring potential isn't the greatest

      Derek · 13/04/2017 at 08:55

I can see GWS giving Port a belting this week.

Taranto playing deep forward should get on the end of a few and pick up a nice 75+ like in week 2

    whatyasmokin · 13/04/2017 at 09:46

    Taranto. Worst JS.

Dean · 13/04/2017 at 00:04

I am stuffed if I know what to do out of these three options.

Option 1: Hibberd straight to Newman
O'Meara or McGrath either to Swallow or do I bring in Fox

Option 2: McGrath to Newman
Hibbered to Swallow or Fox

Option 3: Stewart to Newman
O'Meara to Swallow or Hibberd to Fox

NOTE: That is providing Swallow plays although I'm sure he will.

YOUR opinion is greatly appreciated in advance community.

    Northerner · 13/04/2017 at 05:47

Consider just doing the Hibberd to Newman trade. Another rook will emerge and your others don't need to be moved in now. Balic could come out and smash it this week for example.

      Northerner · 13/04/2017 at 05:48

      Moved ON now.

    whatyasmokin · 13/04/2017 at 09:47

    3. With Hibberd>Fox.

Lachie · 13/04/2017 at 01:31

What are people thoughts on

1. EVW to Newman.
2. Vardy to Spencer due to Gawn injury

    Alby · 13/04/2017 at 05:07

I did EVW to Newman as there was no insight to when he plays.

    whatyasmokin · 13/04/2017 at 09:48

Interesting. But means Spencer needs to be traded out again.

Will spencer share ruck duties? Can he even tonne up?

BZZ · 13/04/2017 at 01:52

Gawn to stefan martin or grundy?

Or move nank into the ruck and get Nick Riewoldt instead?

Cheers community

    Northerner · 13/04/2017 at 05:42

Grundy or Roo. If you have Pruess on your ruck bench that would give me more comfort on the Roo move as you would have back up for Sandi – if you have him.

I'm leaning toward getting Roo in this week. It's a toss up as I think he will be no. 1 scoring fwd by a margin, I'm just concerned he may get rested at some stage given age. He has proven to be very solid in playing a full season in the past though.

    Danners · 13/04/2017 at 06:39

The big Roo so you can assess the ruck situation for a bit

      Derek · 13/04/2017 at 08:49

Getting NRoo does seem like chacing last weeks points.

I was worried about his knees before the season but now I'm just not going to trust them to get him through the season.

His knee won't be 100%. We know he will and can play through pain, but I'm not going to pay that much for him. Remember most people didn't start him because he was too expensive

        whatyasmokin · 13/04/2017 at 09:49

Agree surely he'll miss more games.

Matt · 13/04/2017 at 06:57

Should i keep parker or trade him up to dusty??

Chevy · 13/04/2017 at 07:40

J. STEEL? What do we do with this bloke?!?
Persist or down grade???

    Mike C · 13/04/2017 at 08:44

Yeah, I've got same issue… thinking of calling time on this mid-pricer mistake, and just downgrading to a cash generator like Hayward, at least that way I'm getting $ and points probably not much lower!

    Rick Grimes · 13/04/2017 at 08:52

He's averaging 88, what was your expectation? At best he was always a 90-95 proposition, I feel. Personally, I was happy with that, intending to keep him as a handy swingman later in the year. He's not going to lose value any time soon. Hold unless you have absolutely no other issues to contend with.

      BradK · 13/04/2017 at 09:42

Im pretty happy with steele at the moment. His breakeven is 66 and his average is 88. Hoping for a 100+ in one of his next three games (pies, cats and hawks aren't too bad). From there he should reach 430,000ish and be an easy upgrade to whichever fwd premiums present themselves. His preseason form was something else, and it only takes a flash of that form at afl level for him to rise like I'd hoped

    whatyasmokin · 13/04/2017 at 09:50

    First world problems.

    INPieman · 13/04/2017 at 10:21

Outperforming his price. Very achievable BE. Too early to make a call

    Top Gun · 13/04/2017 at 10:37

I don't need to but I am actually thinking Steele to Nank who I don't have. With Steele at a break even of 66 and Nank much lower Nank's price will continue to rise strongly. Steven and Armitage are both back this week or next. Nank should continue to post 100's.

      BradK · 13/04/2017 at 11:36

If no other way to get nank in then yes

        BradK · 13/04/2017 at 11:56

But otherwise its a firm no.
Say he comes out and scores a 120 this week, which is possible. He'd be averaging 97. Apart from nakn, nickroo dahl and jkennedy, there really isnt many fwds averaging higher anyway. You could take a punt of greene or higgins, but its not really worth a trade is it. A few 'ifs' but keep the faith – he could still finish as one of the top fwds.

Blaknight · 13/04/2017 at 08:13

Loopholing midfield option via Mountford. E set on TT. Out of JOM and Barrett who do I sub in if TT scores shit.

Will sub TT if his scores below 70.

neil Demons Delight · 13/04/2017 at 08:16

Brilliant as usual Lek .I have Gawn and disagree that we must go to a prem.. Those like me have Gawn Sandy and Witts R 3 with Nank forward can go to Pruesse with Witts becoming Gawn .Get Gawn later when he drops .Of course this would probably mean keeping Witts or Pruesse longer than we wanted. I want to use the coin for Hanna Simmo and Shaw.Money and trades both are going to be super relevant this year and one without the other spells disaster hence getting Pruesse your thoughts Lek

    Derek · 13/04/2017 at 08:43

plan this year has to be get the keepers at rock bottom prices.

    gator59 · 13/04/2017 at 09:30

I agree with you Neil whole heartedly on this issue with Gawn

red5 · 13/04/2017 at 08:26

I've got Gawn, Sandi, Preuss and Nank
Traded Gawn for D. Cameron.
Still got 3 rucks playing. 2 as Ruck (Sandi & Preuss) and Nank fwd.
Nank can be subbed in from the Fwd line for Cameron if Sandi or Preuss are injured or dropped.
Use Cameron for the VC loophole
480K in the bank for a premo upgrade next week.
Has anyone got a better option?

    Derek · 13/04/2017 at 08:40

I would use strd instead of Cameron. Cheaper and plays later most weeks than Cameron. Swans play tonight!

I have Cameron and have found him very frustrating as a loophole

      red5 · 13/04/2017 at 08:45

      good point

      neil Demons Delight · 13/04/2017 at 10:38

witts for Gawn I have the same set up except I have witts already and brought in Pruess same result though. This gives you Witts and Sandy bench Pruess and Nank forward. The benefit in going with Witts to Cameron or as Derek says Strd is J S and coin

        red5 · 13/04/2017 at 11:25

        Thanks Neil

        Derek · 13/04/2017 at 11:29

It is nice to have the fwd/ruck swing though

        Dutch · 13/04/2017 at 13:07

Agree and thinking of going same path with gawn to witts – as Derek points out it does forego the ruck/fwd swing, and have to accept that witts will need to be traded out again. I expect witts will generate enough coin to justify the move. Also relying on Pruess to still be playing to provide r9 cover.

          red5 · 13/04/2017 at 14:09

          Good one
I'm leaning towards Gawn to Witts now

      hedski · 13/04/2017 at 10:47

Glad I traded Cameron to Preuss last week.

        Derek · 13/04/2017 at 11:32

Not sure why I started with Cameron, thought he might play early.

Has stuffed me up two weeks in a row not being able to loophole properly.

          hedski · 13/04/2017 at 11:58

yeah I was the same, expected him to play, didn't realise how bad he was for looping.

dave · 13/04/2017 at 09:05

Upgrade Tuohy to Adams? or leave for now and bank the trade? $262k available

Wanting to bring in Newman, but have a full playing list (except ruck loop). Can trade either Stewart, Pickett or Taranto to bring in Newman, or sit on my hands and do nothing. Thinking Pickett, but any other thoughts?

    whatyasmokin · 13/04/2017 at 09:51

    Yep Pickett.

Thoughts on Zach Merrett as POD?

    whatyasmokin · 13/04/2017 at 09:51

Blaknight · 13/04/2017 at 09:54

So. I have 27 trades remaining with 1 left this week. I have only one non playing rookie in Mountford besides Strndica as my ruck/captain loophole.

Do I trade Mountford out now that Eddy has been dropped to the 2's. My plan was to not trade him this week and not jump on the Fox / Hayward bandwagon and risk waiting to see what Berry / Balic / Dawson do this week.

Current non premiums are…

DEF: Marchbank, Otten, Newman, Houston, Stewart
MID: SPP, TT, Barrett, JOM, Mountford
RUCK: Strndica
FWD: Nank, Butler, Houston, Parfitt, Eddy.

Do I hold Mountford this week or not is the question here?

Jimmy · 13/04/2017 at 09:54

Is it crazy to go Gawn to Spencer? If my decision is to downgrade Gawn for reasons to fix other issues in my team, already missed the boat on Witts, but Spencer's jobs security would seem solid with Gawn out and really, should make half decent money starting at a lower price especially if a solo ruck? Someone? Anyone? Am I crazy???

    dave · 13/04/2017 at 10:16

there's a pretty funny bit in Jocks podcast where they suggest swapping one big bearded prick (gawn) with another big bearded prick (Spencer)… they say absolutely no, dont do it, premo to premo only, but hey I guess it depends on how bad your other issues are

Benjamin B · 13/04/2017 at 10:01

How Many trades would you say is too many in first 3 rounds.
Ive used 5 so far and want to bring in either Sloane, Riewoldt, or dusty this week and then Hanners next week and shaw the following.
Barring any big injuries that is 8 trades after 6 rounds.
My team is:
adams, docherty, laird, otten, marchbank, newman…. (Hampton, Stewart)
Bont, fyfe, treloar, beams, watson, SPS, SPP. JOM…… (parfitt, Barrett, Picket)
Nank, Grundy ……. (Strn)
Yeo, Dahl, buddy, WHE, Roughy, Butler… (hannan, Eddy)

Ive got 550k left….
Who do i trade for out of the three? also Do i use the trades like ive said or is too many going into round 6?

    Mystic Mac · 13/04/2017 at 10:27

I've used the 5 as well. Saint Nick sold me down the river and I jumped the gun on the Hannan trade.. Ideally would have only used 3, but that's the beauty of this great game.

    Go with your gut.

B-SC · 13/04/2017 at 10:11

Hibberd to Otten?

    Thomas · 13/04/2017 at 10:30

You have missed the boat i reckon. Get newman instead

      B-SC · 13/04/2017 at 10:33

I have had Newman from the start

    whatyasmokin · 13/04/2017 at 11:53

Why didn't you get Otten last week then?

      B-SC · 13/04/2017 at 12:12

      I got WHE instead

neil Demons Delight · 13/04/2017 at 10:16

Roughy for Martin then work on getting must haves Danger and Pendles but watch your trades/.Sloan Nick and Dusty less important than fixing ruck setup and Martin still gives you valuable points

PD09 · 13/04/2017 at 10:31

I've got to trade Gawn & I'll trade Hibberd for Newman. My question is what is best choice for Gawn?

A) Gawn to Martin
B) Gawn to Grundy
C) Gawn to Witts

The Martin/Grundy option is minimal difference cash wise leaving between $79-91k. I would expect them to avg 100-110 for season

The Witts option leaves a larger cash bank of $315k. I would expect Witts to avg between 85-95k for season.

I need help community to make an informed decision…

    neil Demons Delight · 13/04/2017 at 11:20

The martin /grundy options net you about 159 to 200 post byes as against 315 $ + witts increase almost 600 profit .ANY PREMO to start clawing back your 200 deficit easy decision really

      PD09 · 13/04/2017 at 11:58

Your in the Witts & cash camp???

    Derek · 13/04/2017 at 11:27

Would you have cover for Witts round 9 bye?

      PD09 · 13/04/2017 at 11:56

Would have Nank & Sandi to cover batting injuries

        Derek · 13/04/2017 at 13:12

still like the idea of Keeper for keeper. grundy for me

Drop Bears · 13/04/2017 at 10:54

One poser here…

I can drop Hibberd for Newman, which is clear and fine… but…
I have to move on Gawn, too.

Gawn to Martin, or Roo via Nank moving places.
Miss Newman, and instead Gawn to Witts, Eddy to Roo and have only 16k left over?

Any late thoughts?

    Kev · 13/04/2017 at 11:05

Keep some of your powder dry for another day, DB. 408k on one trade is madness. Grab Newman. Roo vs Stef… I'd go Roo. He's in fantastic touch

      Drop Bears · 13/04/2017 at 14:28

Cheers. Was the way I was leaning all week, but just decided to have a look at left-field ideas, and that seemed to have possible merit…

I'm thinking someone from my forward line later gets upgraded to Martin or Grundy anyway, to push Nankervis back into the forward line. Till then, I'm hoping Sandi and Nank hold my ruckline up. 🙂

    Dutchy · 13/04/2017 at 11:19

I'd be going Newman plus one of the other two. Think he's cash generating ability can't be passed up

Dutchy · 13/04/2017 at 11:17

I have 28 trades.
Should I keep the trades and hang onto Touhy and Jaeger…

Or trade to Williamson and Dusty

    Hawks · 13/04/2017 at 12:05

    Hang on.

Touhy and Jaegar both to bounce back.

    Dutch · 13/04/2017 at 13:01

    Agree with hawk, hold.

Also just wanted to reply from Dutch to Dutchy….

Lach · 13/04/2017 at 11:24

300k in bank

Taranto to Roo
Taranto to Grundy
Taranto to Stef Martin

    Derek · 13/04/2017 at 11:34

    Who are your rucks now?

      Lach · 13/04/2017 at 12:07

      Nank and Sandi

        Derek · 13/04/2017 at 13:11

so you would swing Nank to forward line if you went Martin or Grundy.

I would take Jock's advice and go Grundy. I am.

Shags · 13/04/2017 at 11:42

Martin or Grundy for a Gawn replacement

Cliffy · 13/04/2017 at 11:42

Hey who's everyone going to likely roll with in terms of on-field rookies this week?

I'm thinking at this stage:

DEF: Marchbank, Otten, and then one of Hampton/Newman (unsure there at the moment), with Stewart with the E.
MID: SPP, Barrett, with Parfitt with the E.
FWD: WHE, Butler, with Houston with the E.

    Hawks · 13/04/2017 at 12:04

I would play Newman, and put the E on Hampton.

I would also play Parfitt and put the E on Barrett.

    INPieman · 13/04/2017 at 12:12

    Derek · 13/04/2017 at 13:09

      Cliffy · 13/04/2017 at 13:53

Cheers guys! Yeah if Hampton is indeed put in the guts vs my team then that will be really tempting.

Derek · 13/04/2017 at 11:50

I am (un)lucky enough to have Gawn in my Draft team, took him as my first round pick. oh well.

The rucks who are free agents are, McEvoy, Leuenbrger, Vardy, Sinclair, Preuss or Daw.

Who would be the best option for this week?

Glenn, you can't answer!

    For this week Sinclair.

    Dutch · 13/04/2017 at 12:57

    Derek · 13/04/2017 at 13:04

Shaw has been a victim of GWS playing well. The ball isn't in defense as much as it has been last few years.

Although, he will still be top 6 defenders, so he is a keeper.

think of another way to get Adams

    Alex · 13/04/2017 at 14:06

Sounds like a brilliant trade. Trade an underperforming GUN for an UNPROVEN fast starter. Pull the trigger.

Nick Riewoldt stef Martin or grundy ( trading goldy and can switch nank to ruck

Justin · 13/04/2017 at 13:08

Should I go Gawn to nank and then omeara to murphy?

Chook · 13/04/2017 at 13:18

Community, I need your collective wisdom! I started with Howe and Crouch as PODs in the hope that they'd take the next step. Now I want to correct one of them to Adams but I'm not sure which. On one hand I think Howe has a better chance of top 6 Def than Crouch a top 10 mid (but im very doubtful of either them making it) But Crouch is still getting heaps of the pill and better DE should see better scores.

It might seem too early for either but this year I'm trying to be proactive and Adams has proved to be a must and his price is heading north.

Which would you do (and why?)

    DavidSA · 13/04/2017 at 13:34

Just hold them both till the byes and off load the one who might be under 95 avg. Especially if that one is the midfielder. I can see Howe being worth the D6 spot anyway

Ando · 13/04/2017 at 13:27

Start Marchbank or Newman on field?

    DavidSA · 13/04/2017 at 13:57

    Bloody tough call there

I don't think it would be much different tbh between them this week 75-85 pts for both of them I think

      Ando · 13/04/2017 at 14:15

      Cheers mate

Top Gun · 13/04/2017 at 13:28

I would give them a few more weeks. Howe's average is pretty good and we all know Crouch can get the ball. There will be plenty of downgrades after a few weeks and you haven't burnt trades in doing so.

Top Gun · 13/04/2017 at 13:29

Latest news is Jack Steven is out against Collingwood.

DavidSA · 13/04/2017 at 13:30

JOM > Fox
Taranto > Newman
= 333k cash
Total in bank for next week is 472k

Next week:

Swing McGrath into backline and Adams into midfield.
Trade McGrath and Marchbank to 2 premo defenders, might get Shaw/Simpson and Docherty

This will give me 5 premo defenders and 6 premo mids after next week.

Beezneez · 13/04/2017 at 13:36

Original plan was to trade:

1 Stewart to Newman (E) and use J Smith for the loophole with Hampton/Otten if Newman scores well.
2. O'Meara to Murphy.

Now thinking of another option:
1. J.Smith to Newman
2. Hibberd to Swallow.

If I don't get Murphy think the bird will have flown and still could get Swallow next week. However, option 2 allows me to get rid of 2 non playing rooks with decisions on which rooks to play on field eg. Parfitt/Butler/SPP and Newman/Otten/Hampton.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    DavidSA · 13/04/2017 at 14:06

    Option 2
Also think about bargain priced Fox from Sydney is on the bubble
Swallow not a keeper and won't be top 8 mids let alone top 15 mids and is injury prone, a lot of tooting over 2 scores imo

Joe · 13/04/2017 at 13:42

Start Taranto or Houston on field?

    DavidSA · 13/04/2017 at 13:54

Tarantula I think will out score Houston

    Home game 70+
Houston has been solid but not sold on him getting over 70 against GWS

Scolir · 13/04/2017 at 13:42

Hey Legends,
McCarthy to Hayward – Caddy to Murphy. Good trades?

Is Goldy cooked?? Hate trading premo's but Preuss taking a lot of points off him. Backed him to ruck solo most of the year. Haven't watch many Nth games though, could they just be nursing his knee? Trade Goldy to Martin now or hold? Or swap Nank into the ruck for a few weeks, bring in a forward and swap Nank back once a clear #1 ruck has emerged? Any help appreciated!

I have 300 K in the bank and considering upgrading Marchbank to T.Adams as I am going up against a seemingly worthy opponent this week. Do I make that trade or hold the cash to bring in Dusty next week?

Dusty Spurs · 13/04/2017 at 15:09

I have 300 K in the bank and am considering upgrading Marchbank to T.Adams this week as I am going against a seemingly worthy opponent this week. Should I pull the trigger now or hold off with the aim of getting in Dusty once one of my rookies appreciates enough?

    Russ in W.A · 13/04/2017 at 17:00

I wouldn't trade out Marchbank yet after one low score and especially just to win a league game one week. If you're just playing for leagues all you need to do is make the top 8 , top 4 preferable with the double chance but yeah, I'd wait, even if you lose, it's only one game and a long season, I reckon reasons to trade a premo in are either, spudding it, Injury or fattened enough.. for rookies and midpricers.

An example of a must trade spud is Josh Caddy.

WeekbyWeek · 13/04/2017 at 15:20

140k – Need two make two trades. Best options?
Def: Shaw, Adams, Touhy, March, Otten, Hampton (J Smith, Hibberd)
Mid: Danger, Pendles, JPK, Fyfe, Beams, O'meara, Swallow, P-Pepper (Pickett, Barett, Parfitt)
Ruck: Gawn, Sandi (Strnadica)
Fwd: Dahl, Nank, Macrae, Roughy, WHE, Taranto (Hannan, Eddy)

    Derek · 13/04/2017 at 15:55

    Smith to Newman

    Gawn to grundy

    Russ in W.A · 13/04/2017 at 17:02

I'll say Smith to Newman and Gawn to Witts, for some spare bank.

Adrian · 13/04/2017 at 15:30

I initially traded Crouch out to Dusty, which left me only $900 cash, but then l reversed the trade.

Derek · 13/04/2017 at 15:53

Just a reminder to anyone who are getting any premium into there team this week, either via Gawn out or any other sideways or upgrade trades…. don't forget to look st the effect it has on your bye rounds.

Most people made sure their starting structures were ok for the byes. Just make sure you don't forget.

neil Demons Delight · 13/04/2017 at 16:46

Looking more and more likely we will get to post byes with ONE FEW TRADES OR TWO 6-7TRADES AND 2 near prems in my case wont be menapoo and Hewett but witts and Oliver types

Redd · 13/04/2017 at 17:01

Worth bringing in otten for stewart or should i just get rid of mountford for fox?

Russ in W.A · 13/04/2017 at 17:09

Giday Guys, I went Smith to Newman and Taranto to Witts this week as my first 2 trades of the year.

This gives me Witts Sandi- Preuss and Nank in the fwds.

Any good reasons why I shouldn't do the Taranto to Witts part of it?

    NutSack · 13/04/2017 at 18:12

    youve got 4 rucks? Ridiculous

      Russ in W.A · 13/04/2017 at 18:20

How so? Nank's averaging 115 as a forward, 98, 93 and 80 on the bench and they all cost me bugger all.

    Lach · 13/04/2017 at 18:17

Witts will stink it up. I'd just try and upgrade somewhere else.
