Thank you lads!

    LoganJosh7 · 12/04/2017 at 16:35

    Eddy to Parfitt or hold?

parfitt on the bubble plus need a duel position rookie in my forward line.

LEKD0G · 11/04/2017 at 16:34

The highlight of every bloody Tuesday afternoon

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 16:50

    Never heard anything truer

    Gazzzzza · 11/04/2017 at 18:11

    Haha lekdog couldnt agree more

    Raging Bulls · 11/04/2017 at 19:10

Time to draw my weekly bubble bath…

    Mick · 11/04/2017 at 22:28

Is that a home brew in a PET bottle in Jock's hand, in the promo picture?

Top Gun · 11/04/2017 at 16:34

Two turds in her pan and one in her bush. Bahaha! Love it guys… Trying to get rid of my turds this week.

Bells E Bubb · 11/04/2017 at 16:40

Witts and Sandi might be keepers at this stage.

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 17:53

Sandi will get injured at some stage. Most Likely.

      Lach · 11/04/2017 at 18:08

Sandi will be getting the rest treatment if finals bound for freo.

        Bells E Bubb · 11/04/2017 at 20:03

Not likely to make the 8. And there is a bye anyway.

        Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 20:16

If he gets rested that is bad for SC

          Goofy Buffoon · 11/04/2017 at 23:27

          Rested you say?

That's what the Nank is here for! Witts R9, Nank R12 Sandi R13 byes… will be a pleasure to manage thru the byes.

Jim · 11/04/2017 at 16:40

O'Meara to Swallow. Is it really worth it like everyone is making it out to be?

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 16:48

Not worth a trade wait a week

      Col · 11/04/2017 at 18:39

That about Taranto plus 50k to Swallow?

        DAVIDDDDDDDDDDD · 12/04/2017 at 16:37

can completely understand this trade being done

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 17:53

No defintely NOT worth a TRADE

      Gav · 11/04/2017 at 20:01

      ????wrong

    BeaglieBoy · 11/04/2017 at 18:50

Swallow on the bubble this week will rise very nicely this week and for a good few weeks after that ….O;meara will rise a small amount as long as he reaches his 60ish break-even and his shit score from this week will be in his average for weeks…..also on what we have seen Swallow appears to have a better point scoring potential, is in better form and confidence…..and will leave u with a post trade profit of $47k…..I like this ytade…..have seen worse ones with less justification

    Shizzer · 11/04/2017 at 19:27

What about marchbank and Hannan out for Newman and swallow via dpp or Hannan to Newman thoughts?

      SF4 · 11/04/2017 at 22:58

Keep Marchbank for a while and hold onto Hannan until he begins leaking cash.
Find a different way to get Newman in, if you can get rid of a EVW, Hibberd, Smith or another non playing DEF rookie.

LEKD0G · 11/04/2017 at 16:41

Phillips back in the VFL side for Carlton, will come into the Blues best 22 soon and ruin Kreuzer's output

    leedy · 11/04/2017 at 17:07

Thanks for the good news Lekdog 🙁

    JuddWarneLoveChild · 11/04/2017 at 17:36

Agree no idea why, but Carlton never seems to let Kreuzer play as a solo ruck for long.

      INPieman · 11/04/2017 at 22:13

      Um why

Thomas · 11/04/2017 at 16:44

Thoughts on trading Stewart instead of Hibberd if Stewart gets dropped?

    Steeeve · 11/04/2017 at 16:45

Has a break even of 5. Hold.

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 16:47

Hard one mate but I'd stick with hibbo. Too many good rookies at North

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 17:55

Even if Stewart gets dropped and Hibberd gets picked. Id still keep Stewart.

    Danners · 11/04/2017 at 21:42

Something that I will look into. Positive breakeven this early in the season doesn't help

Steeeve · 11/04/2017 at 16:44

Great stuff lads. As always.

Putting my plums on the line this week and going Goldy out to Darcy Cameron. I'll have Sandi and Preuss as my r1 and r2. Cameron r3. Hope he gets a game soon.
I have Nank in the forward line for cover.

This will leave me with over $600,000, I'll wait a week and trade out Pickett or some other spud rookie for Hannebery (super cheap).
Then I'll wait another week and trade out a defence rookie for Kade Simpson (super cheap).

Rather than waiting for rookies to fully plump up, I'll snaffle these premos at bargain basement price and be closer to full premo quicker. Hoping it can help separate me from the pack.

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 16:46

Don't jump the wait wait until teams are named

      Steeeve · 11/04/2017 at 17:22

Obviously if Preuss is dropped etc I'll be reversing asap.

In that case I might go Goldy to Nick Roo via Nank.

And I know that seems like the better option to do straight away but: a) N Roo won't be at a discount; b) I will be getting one keeper premo instead of two.

    Sauce · 11/04/2017 at 17:31

I admire your large plums, great success of Cameron gets a gig

      Sauce · 11/04/2017 at 17:39

      If

        Steeeve · 11/04/2017 at 18:26

One premo out, two in. Will sacrifice some points this week but Goldy could get me another 60 odd anyway.

Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 16:44

Just a thought. A small thought that could change how I play the game of Supercoach. Strengthening the defense is important considering lack of eligible rookies so how about one extra rookie in FWD and Dahlhaus in MID will create room for an extra premium defender! Thoughts?

    Top Gun · 11/04/2017 at 17:13

I have a friend who started with 5 premium backs thinking outside of the box. It has worked a treat for him and he is in the top 300 climbing each week.

Dildor · 11/04/2017 at 16:53

Felt like this podcast needed to go for 3 hours, many unanswered questions. Oh the joy of sc

Dan · 11/04/2017 at 16:55

Provided he fits the team's structure, is swallow a must have?

    Micky_B · 11/04/2017 at 17:00

Not worth the trade yet. Going higher than he will for the season especially after the hawthorn game which won't happen too often. I'd hold an omeara or similar for 1 more week but also depends on breakevens

    Sauce · 11/04/2017 at 17:30

    No

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 17:56

    Agree Not a must have

TigerMan · 11/04/2017 at 16:56

Watch Marc Murphy get tagged quite soon if he keeps this up

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 17:57

Agree don't see him keeping up this output and being a top 8 mid

    Tibor · 11/04/2017 at 21:12

Yep tag is bothering simmo lately have a look at his scores, they'll get back on to Murph soon enough

    Smurf · 12/04/2017 at 14:31

    Just watch me flex

Jimmy · 11/04/2017 at 17:03

DEF: Laird, Lloyd, Howe, Otten, Marcbank, Hampton (Stewart, Hibberd)
MID: Dangerfield, Pendles, Rockliff, Fyfe, Priddis, Ablett, Powell-Pepper, O'Meara (Barret, Parfitt, Mountford)
RUCK: Nankervis, Sandilands (Strndica)
FWD: JJK, Greene, Macrae, Roughead, Butler, Houstan (Eddy, Pickett)

Trades: 28
remaining salary: 26,100
Rank: 32k

so i have absolutly no idea what to do with my team help would be real appreciated community thanks

    David · 11/04/2017 at 17:08

    Hibberd/Mountford to Newman (pending teams)

Only other trades worth considering are:
    – Roughead to Witts via Nank
    – O'Meara to Swallow/Murphy (if you did the trade above, might have the money)

Would only do those if you think that A) Roughead will not be good enough for F6 AND Murphy will be a top 15 mid

      David · 11/04/2017 at 17:09

*Preuss also a consideration for Roughead if you think we can rely on him.

        Col · 11/04/2017 at 19:52

Putting Nank back in the forward line gives you ruck cover via Strn.
Newman a must for def this week or miss the boat

    SF4 · 11/04/2017 at 23:04

    Gotta get Newman in.

TDEV · 11/04/2017 at 17:05

Considering trading out Taranto, don't have any other issues. What are my options? Got 150k in bank, already have Swallow.

    Kev · 11/04/2017 at 17:18

Nothing that stands out, so it's probably better to hold him. If the trigger finger needs to be itched then Hayward is on the bubble this week. In the mids Fox is too. Balic/Berry are highly rated at their clubs and should stay in

    Bells E Bubb · 11/04/2017 at 17:41

Giants lost a couple more mids today, Griff and Setterfield for 7 weeks. Taranto will stay in the team and should improve. Hold.

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 17:59

No other issues?? Thats impressive if I had 4 trades this week I would use them ALL. I have so many problems

    SF4 · 11/04/2017 at 23:06

GWS have mid problems due to injuries and haven't really got anyone to come in and fix the midfield up. Tarantos JS should be as safe as houses for a while. With injuries Taranto might be able to produce some better scores aswell. Hold onto him.

    Jake · 11/04/2017 at 23:15

I reckon he'll pump out a 75+ and start making money soon TDEV, I'll be keeping him this week.

Jojo · 11/04/2017 at 17:09

Hi community
Jock your a legend mate
What are all your thoughts on going picket to Robbie fox or is it to early jump off picket

    Sauce · 11/04/2017 at 17:35

If you are happy with Pickett scoring 40-50 each week it is a hold if not move on to someone like a Fox who is on the bubble

      Cr0magn0n · 12/04/2017 at 12:49

Pickett hasn't been scoring 40-50 points.

    Jake · 11/04/2017 at 23:17

Don't know if Fox is worth it, maybe have a look at Balic and Berry this week, or consider Will Hayward.

Top Gun · 11/04/2017 at 17:15

Wouldn't be surprised if Harrison Wigg for the Crows and Frances Watson for the Eagles get a game this week. They have been killing it in the magoos.

    Kev · 11/04/2017 at 17:44

Agree on Wigg. Though ScottyT and BCrouch are ahead of him and both will be back soon

Watson on the rookie list. Do west coast have space to elevate someone?

      bUCKET__ · 11/04/2017 at 23:40

2 spots available for rookie elevation at West Coast(1 LTI with Nicnat, one because the main list is short). Petrie was elevated for Lycett I think .

Watson is exciting for eagles fans, he takes the game on with his pace and agility, as well as winning contests. Huge talent. But he still needs to develop physically before regular AFL games and needs to improve decision making.

Worst thing that could happen to him for SC-relevance is playing a game this year, can't see him playing too many and will have his price stuffed for next year!

    Bells E Bubb · 11/04/2017 at 19:07

Hasn't Wigg been killing it in the Magoos for three years now? Just in wrong clubs at wrong time. Would walk into the Swans this year. Wish we had him.

    Gaz · 12/04/2017 at 09:27

Listened to interview with Adam Simpson Monday – sounds like Watson is progressing well but has plenty of competition for a spot.

    Adam · 12/04/2017 at 14:34

    Not yet

Xan · 11/04/2017 at 17:22

Do I go unique and get Ollie wines or is it safer and a better option to get the Bont

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 17:51

Bont is the SAFEST OPTION IN THE GAME

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 18:34

Depends if you want a POD or not

      Daniel · 12/04/2017 at 12:59

POD is only important if they score similar or better to the mainstream choice.
Bont looks like he will handily outscore Wines by the end of the year.

    Bells E Bubb · 11/04/2017 at 19:08

Can't go wrong with the Bont. The SC scorers and umps think he has a golden ring which the sun shines out of.

    Tibor · 11/04/2017 at 21:14

Hold off on Ollie maybe, get him after he has the early bye after port play suns in china

      Hutto76 · 11/04/2017 at 21:19

      Good call Tibor!

        Hutto76 · 11/04/2017 at 21:21

Especially considering many will also have up to 3 port rookies to offload and possibly a sun or two by then!

Aydo · 11/04/2017 at 17:29

Great podcast again boys!! Anyone chasing swallow? Tempted to trade Taranto to swallow. If he keeps tracking the way he has he will surely make a bit of $$$ which will make for an easy upgrade or a good M8/9. Not sure if I'm wasting a trade as that would push SPP to the bench though.

    Sauce · 11/04/2017 at 17:33

If swallow does not fit in your structure then there is no point getting him

      Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 17:49

Structure is a bullt*sh price of work that makes you pressured to do what the good people are doing and it stopped me from getting Murphy, nank and swallow this year so if it sounds good do it!!!!!!

    Kim · 12/04/2017 at 09:26

Swallow will easily outscore spp, will easily av 80+ a week rookies will av 65-75 if that. Easy decision for mine.

Sauce · 11/04/2017 at 17:29

I NEED HELP
This is my situation:
I have both JOM and Jack steele without Nanki and swallow, if I trade JOM to swallow I can afford the trade Steele to Nanki, do I hold with JOM and Steele or trade to swallow and Nanki

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 17:47

You're buggered there. I wouldn't, even though I love nank, because that's 2 trades wasted. But the short term benefits are good. Do they outweigh the long term?

      Sauce · 11/04/2017 at 17:50

      Cheers

Sauce · 11/04/2017 at 17:34

Yes

JuddWarneLoveChild · 11/04/2017 at 17:41

Thoughts on swinging the Nank from forward line for Gawn, to allow bringing that lyin prick Riewoldt back-in (after R1 he claimed to out for 4-6 weeks so i traded him). That way the decision on who comes in for Sandi when he gets injured will be easier?

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 17:45

What I would do if I had gawn

    Northernsoul74 · 11/04/2017 at 19:19

Think that's what I'm doing. Does mean I no longer have the Nank cover in my forward line if Sandi goes down though.

    Top Gun · 12/04/2017 at 08:26

Prefer to wait a few weeks on St Nick. If he gets injured again you will have brought him back twice and be fuming.

CJudd3Votes · 11/04/2017 at 17:42

Lost Gawn obviously so trades this week were JOM to Swallow in the guts because i feel like he will generate cash and earn his keep, then Gawn goes out, Nank into the ruck, Pafitt forward, Hibberd to the midfield and bringing in Newman. This leaves me with 600k in the bank to do a double upgrade next week however one less premo on field so unsure whether I'm vunerable this week now? Ultimately my thoughts are I'll need money hence bringing in Cows but curious on the community's opinion

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 17:44

I think upgrade swallow to a premo

    Sauce · 11/04/2017 at 17:46

This is some good stuff as far as I'm concerned but probably depends on how many trades you have left because you will use 4 trades in two weeks

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 18:01

    Id hold JOM.

      Luke444 · 11/04/2017 at 18:52

How is that possible who do you swing parfitt for?

Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 17:50

Brilliant Podcast Lads.

Love your work.

Elijah · 11/04/2017 at 18:01

Hey community, the podcast has inspired me to think about trading david swallow in for tim taranto (i have 97k in the bank and this trade will mean i have 26 trades left). What are your thoughts?

    Elijah · 11/04/2017 at 18:06

or potentially marchbank to swallow through dpp

      Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 23:54

Just stop. Leave Marchbank out of this

    Steve · 11/04/2017 at 20:26

    Do the first one

Finnius · 11/04/2017 at 18:07

Taranto or Pickett to Swallow? Means I have SPP on the bench

    SF4 · 11/04/2017 at 23:08

Pickett has to go before Taranto.

      Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 23:54

      I don't know… I think Taranto should first

Brandon · 11/04/2017 at 18:09

Any merit in trading Gawn to strndica? I started with sandi and witts in ruck alongside Gawn, and traded nank in fwd last week, could swing nank to ruck but that forces witts/sandi to the bench.. good idea or stupid? Would result in leaving 600k in bank for 1-2 weeks

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 18:49

Hmm not a bad situation. If it was me I would go Gawn –> Preuss.

      Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 23:53

Preuss, unfortunately, sounds like the best option in your situation. But next week get 2 premiums in with that extra cahs

    Kev · 12/04/2017 at 09:17

I'd go Cameron. You've missed Preuss. Cameron/Nank swingset if Sandi or Witts start to cause trouble. Cameron more likely to get a chance than Strndica

Lach · 11/04/2017 at 18:21

Option 1: Taranto –> Grundy
Option 2: Taranto –> Riewoldt
Option 3: Taranto –> Murphy / Wines

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 18:36

    Option 4? Hold Taranto?

      Lach · 11/04/2017 at 18:57

Not to my liking.. I have 300k in bank, obviously it's worth upgrading him in my state.

        Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 19:10

Probably Riewoldt as he will be a top 6 fwd most likely whilst Wines/murph wont be top 8 mid. Dont no about Grundy need to no ur ruck situation

    Danners · 11/04/2017 at 21:44

Riewoldt is probably the most likely to be a top player for their line

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 23:52

Grundy can wait a round if you have time, maybe even 2. So Roo for me

muzz · 11/04/2017 at 18:27

Started Gawn,Sandi and Preuss, no Nank in ruck or fwd is it to late to get him now as ruck and then switch to fwds later

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 18:37

Gawn to Nank is a pretty solid trade

uDonkey · 11/04/2017 at 18:34

I too feel it's time to cull MBank and Higgo just confirmed it for me. My gut feeling just kept telling me it's time to move him on for a keeper and Florent to Newman.

    Beady Eye · 11/04/2017 at 20:33

If you were only going to cull him after 3 rounds, why bother with Marchbank in the first place?

      Touk tuk · 11/04/2017 at 20:58

U have to give him another week

      uDonkey · 11/04/2017 at 22:49

We didn't had much options of Rookies down back it's why i picked him for 200k Rookie was a hifty price to pay in the first place. Now with all these lower price of Rookies coming up at lower and bargain prices time to go on them and make more cash.

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 11/04/2017 at 22:38

Did you seethe conditions on Sunday?
Marchbank gets his points from intercept marks,
Bit hard to mark a bar of soap in the wet
He'll be fine and continue to moo

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 23:50

Round 4 or 5 at minimum but I can get a premium if I trade him next week

BeaglieBoyy · 11/04/2017 at 18:37

I guess the Gawn/Goldy set and forget rucks has proven to be a fallacy….every year the rucks are a problem…..6'10" giraffes are always prone to injuries, reports and form drops and it seems they can't cope with other giraffes in the team with them….in past years have had Sandi/Martin/Jacobs/NicNat/Mummy/Maric/ etc and paid $500k-$600k for the fragile bastards…..this year went with a cheap Sandi, Witts, Nank and Preuss and couldn't be happier…..not that I expected all 4 to have done so well so far…..and it is a long season before us …..but I hope to ride my luck for as long as possible before trading in the surviving ruck premo's be it Grundy or Martin or who ever…..

On another note I WILL be trading out O'Meara for Swallow andTarranto for Fox…..brought in Newman last week for Hibberd

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 23:50

Someone told me in preseason "Gawn and goldi, set and forget, lock up and throw the key."
    Good. Congratulations mate

Leeds17 · 11/04/2017 at 18:41

Need help Community, is there a genuine Forward option under 562K?

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 18:55

    Macrea, Dahlhouse, JJK, NANK

    David · 11/04/2017 at 19:32

    NRoo

      Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 20:03

      O ye forgot him

    Top hawk · 11/04/2017 at 19:57

All forward options are cheaper than $562K.

    Leeds17 · 12/04/2017 at 05:58

Yeah my bad guys I meant to write "462K"

      SF4 · 12/04/2017 at 12:17

Nank if you haven't got him already.

RJH · 11/04/2017 at 18:41

Don't really have any issues I need to fix in my team this week, hibberd to Newman is an obvious trade but should I go Taranto to Swallow, Hayward, Fox or hold him for another week? Thanks

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 18:57

    Hold Taranto

      Top hawk · 11/04/2017 at 20:00

Agree. With a BE OF 10, easy cash to be made there this week. I reckon "Tonto" is not far away from a big game. He is staying in my side for now.

        Dutch · 11/04/2017 at 21:35

Agree, TT looks to have good job security for now and will make steady money for the next few weeks, one big game and he'll comfortably get to $300k+. Preserve those trades! None of Swallow, Hayward or Fox are must-haves (on current exposed form), if you are short on cash generation in your side trade out a non-playing rook.

Ben · 11/04/2017 at 19:09

Thinking of trading out Salem for Newman and Reid out for Roo, good idea?

    Danners · 11/04/2017 at 21:45

    A good idea

Scyb · 11/04/2017 at 19:11

Why are people trading out of roughy? He looks pretty good so far??

    Danners · 11/04/2017 at 21:45

Some of us didn't start on the Nank train. But yes he is still a good option

    Harry H · 11/04/2017 at 23:24

Yep I agree. I'm definitely holding him and think he's a keeper. He was never going to start at a million miles an hour and just have to show some patience

Campbell · 11/04/2017 at 19:44

55,200k left and 29 trades. This is my team now
Def: Adams, Docherty, Laird, Lloyd, Otten, Hampton (Stewart, Vickers-Willis)
Mid:Dangerfield, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Kennedy, Treloar, Beams, Powell-Pepper, O'Meara (Parfitt, Barret, Pickett)
Ruc: Nankervis, Sandilands ( D Cameron)
Fwd: Dahlhaus, Franklin, Roughead, Hoskin-Elliot, Butler, Taranto (Houston, Eddy)
1. Was thinking Vickers-Willis to Newman
2. Not sure whether to hold or trade O'Meara if trading was thinking putting Taranto into mid, Nankervis into Fwd and putting Wiits in the ruck.
Thoughts?
Any ideas or thoughts please respond, Cheers.

    musicissport · 11/04/2017 at 20:00

    1. Yes
    2. JOM to Swallow, too late for Witts

Izzy · 11/04/2017 at 19:47

G'day Lads, i am looking for some elite opinions on my trades.
Thinking of the standard EVW to Newman and Taranto to Swallow. Will leave me with 26 trades, 45k in the bank and no real issues in the side… what does the community think????

    musicissport · 11/04/2017 at 20:01

First option good, I would hold Tarranto though. Any other way of getting Swallow in?

      Izzy · 11/04/2017 at 20:16

it's either butler taranto or houston?

    DacZawson · 11/04/2017 at 20:56

If Taranto is either on your mid bench or in your forward line I'd consider this before pulling the trigger on the second trade.
If you wait a week on Taranto and then next week you trade one up-one down with Taranto and Marchbank, you could be one more premium better, rather then trading for a short term midpricer in Swallow.

      Izzy · 11/04/2017 at 21:32

      Hi DacZawson,
Taranto is my FWD bench and i didnt quite understand what mean?

        DacZawson · 11/04/2017 at 22:33

As Col pointed out below, I messed up the maths behind the strategy I put forward to you, sorry that I confused you.

I think the EVW to Newman trade is perfect.
My only hesitation behind the Swallow trade is that you are trading for a player that will be used as a cash cow and not a keeper. Trading for Swallow will cost you money, so what you need to weigh up is:
Do you think that Swallow will make you more money than the 100k profit from trading Taranto to a rookie plus the money that that rookie makes (at least 150k). If so, you would be expecting Swallow to reach a price of 530k.

Let me know if that doesn't make sense

      Col · 11/04/2017 at 21:54

Next week you will be lucky to have 600k between m.bank and Taranto. Given you spend around 120k for a new rookie on the bubble you will still only have 480k which will not really buy you a premo

        DacZawson · 11/04/2017 at 22:20

Apologies. I really didn't think through the maths behind that. I take that all back. I'm glad you're on the ball Col.

          Izzy · 11/04/2017 at 22:59

Regardless of the maths, both of your reasoning has helped. i think i'll save the trade and not get swallow.
          Thanks huys

            Izzy · 11/04/2017 at 23:01

would either of you or anyone in the community suggest taranto to hayward or fox?

              DacZawson · 11/04/2017 at 23:17

With the amounts of Swans players that could return in the next few weeks, the job security of those two isn't great. So personally I'd hold and see how Berry and Balic do in their second games as they should be more likely to hold their positions.

Top hawk · 11/04/2017 at 19:48

As always, a top shelf podcast by Jock, Higgo and Crouching one!

Like 99.99% of fair dinkum coaches, Nic Newman has to come in this week at the expense of Joel Smith. That leaves me with 27 trades. I reckon that will be it trading wise this week.

That said, I am quietly pondering about Jack Steele tonight. He was serviceable this week with his 88, after his earlier efforts of 65 and 113. His price has increased by $28K to $375K. His BE going into round 4 is 66………Already fairly elevated for a bloke who I thought would be in a much better cash generation position than that. He should get 66 this week (didn't in round 2 mind you) so he probably deserves the respect to prove he is the real deal this week or a SC liability. (TRAP a bit harsh)

If I decide to trade him out this week, I can afford the services of potential premo keepers such as Marc Murphy or Nick Riewoldt. I currently have $177K in the bank.

Most probably going to sit on my hands this week, but its tempting to trade up to my first premo after the player price reset this week. It would obviously enhance point scoring power to my side and set me on my way to being full premo sooner rather than later.

What do others in the community reckon? Cheers

    DacZawson · 11/04/2017 at 20:59

With Jack Steven out and St Kilda playing a few games at Etihad in the near future (prefers smaller areas so he can win contested ball), I reckon it's worth giving Steele at least a couple more weeks to show us his true potential

      Dutch · 11/04/2017 at 21:31

Agree, you got Steele in to make some coin, he'll still do that and his scoring potential over the next month or so is decent – I'm holding him for at least another 2-3 weeks – if Steele is your biggest concern you're travelling well.

    Neverweaken · 11/04/2017 at 21:31

Keep for at least another week. Then look at Hanners perhaps. Having traded out Roo I'm scared to get him back in. Don't think I will touch him til the byes

    Steve · 12/04/2017 at 21:32

Been pondering the same in my team but will give him a week or two. Gasnt been what i hoped. His first week scored well but was little influence on ground..realy wabt riewolt in my side though….need to upgrade my def first though before i think of fwds unfortunately

musicissport · 11/04/2017 at 20:03

Not 100% sold on Murph being genuine premo despite great start. I'd keep Steele one more week, if he spuds you won't lose much coin if any.

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 20:08

Im not convinced on Murph either

    Steve · 12/04/2017 at 21:34

Agree think murph will average hugh 90s low 100s.. .good option in fwds but not absolute premo

Jay · 11/04/2017 at 20:47

With the help of DPP magic I'm trading Gawn into a keeper in my ultra light defence. Only keepers down back at the moment are Laird and Shaw. Was looking at Adams, any thoughts?

    Neverweaken · 11/04/2017 at 21:14

Think Adams is a keeper. That was my first corrective when I traded out NRoo

Sorry buddy but given jlt form not sure why you did that given nank, sands and witts all much cheaper options. I feel for you though, sucks big time, I have Gawn not touching goldy this season with a 10 foot pole. Shadow of his 2015 form.

Derek · 11/04/2017 at 21:07

Great Casting of the Pod fellas.

Any news from Wayno?

Rob · 11/04/2017 at 21:12

I have Gawn/Sandi, Nank Fwd. Still have Hibberd/Smith in DEF.
I could put Nank in Ruck, Strnadica into FWD,
1. Gawn to Newman and put Hibberd in MID. That still leaves me with Smith DEF/Hibberd MID
What would be the second trade? Need some advice on other alternatives. Thanks

    Hutto76 · 11/04/2017 at 21:38

If I was in your position, I would consider Gawn to one of Martin, Grundy, Witts in the ruck and bring Newman in for one of the other two. One of many options! Could go Press or Spencer in the ruck, if you like a risky option?

      Rob · 11/04/2017 at 21:55

      1. With that first option I was going to bring in Nroo or Murphy as the trade up for someone. Not sure who yet.
      2. That's another way of looking at it. Just now not sure. I guess trading Nank into the Ruck, I lose a Prem Fwd, having to then rely on a Hannan, Taranto, Eddy type. If I keep Nank in FWD, I then can grab a Martin or Grundy,
Don't know which option is better to strcuture with, any advice?

        Derek · 11/04/2017 at 21:57

Beware of NRoo and that knee.

          Rob · 11/04/2017 at 22:05

Am concerned but everything comes with a risk. Anyone can go down at any moment.
          Tough one.

    Col · 11/04/2017 at 22:30

If you put nank in the rucks you kill your backup for if he or Sandi breaks

      Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 23:40

As we've seen with Gawn or Goldy; if one breaks, trade him out

Neverweaken · 11/04/2017 at 21:13

Trade Stewart to Newman or do a corrective and trade Bob Murphy to Newman? Bob seems to be playing all over the place. Not setting up from defence.

    Hutto76 · 11/04/2017 at 21:28

Stewart probably has another week or so in cash generation (hopefully), so would be ok on the pine, whereas the Murphy option will give you more upgrade cash and unless he pulls out some vintage stuff, seems to have found his value. Both options have merit, but I'd probably downgrade Murphy!

Dan · 11/04/2017 at 21:26

Is it too late to jump on Preuss?

    Harry H · 11/04/2017 at 23:28

Not if you think his JS is good. I'm jumping on Witts for Gawn despite his 71k price rise last week. He still has great potential to rise

INPieman · 11/04/2017 at 21:31

Awesome Pod as always lads. But this is a rare occasion I disagree. The irrelevance of Gawn & Goldy creates opportunity. Gawn simply must be traded & Goldy has been surpassed by a gun rookie with a -82 BE after a price rise. I watched Preuss in the JLT thinking he'd get a chance later. Not true & much sooner. He can already compete with gun rucks & do his fair share around the ground. Goldy as a result is a must trade & maybe see you later. He's more of a liability than Gawn this week given his price will crash. Those that started with Sandiwitts are dominating. This is an opportunity to fight back if you play it right & are willing to trade with extreme discipline. Hold your nerve despite temptation with a bank. Massive price spiking cash cows will be rare this season. This could be an opportunity

    Hutto76 · 11/04/2017 at 21:45

Good call mate. I'm lucky enough to be on the Sandi Witts Nankers express, but I would definitely be looking to cull either Gawn or Goldy, if I had them.

      INPieman · 11/04/2017 at 22:07

Hey Hutto. No one knows where the Sandi witts express is going. Destination unknown

But when will the military come along and destroy the train?

    Derek · 11/04/2017 at 21:55

    Nice work INPieman.

Who would have thought the rucks would prove to be the make or break this year……… oh yeah, everyone did…..

Spending the big dollars may not get a return in the rucks like it once did. And if you do, beware the second ruck.

    Harry H · 11/04/2017 at 23:31

Yep most rookies are rubbish so have to make the best of a tricky situation. I'm going Gawn to Witts and I already have Preuss. Rucks seem the only reliable money making machine this year. Who would have thought months ago when most people were saying 'set and forget' with Goldy and Gawn! Witts, Sandi and Nank all money making machines.

      INPieman · 12/04/2017 at 10:18

In years gone by Harry that would seem a ridiculous trade. But I see multiple benefits to that trade. I'm fine with that

      Kim · 12/04/2017 at 12:03

Wits I doubt is a keeper though so you will have to use another trade later on. Grundy or Martin better options.

Derek · 11/04/2017 at 21:40

I have been doing some maths and a few things I have for people to consider.

I started with 12 keepers. The average price of these keepers was $586,000 each.

If I use this as an average price for future keepers to be bought, then added my final 8 bench players at an average price of $150k and a nice DPP bench player for around $350k, the total team value will be around $14,290,000.

If I look at my final team value last year it was a touch over $14mil, so in the ball park.

The problem we will all have this year is cash generation. The cash cows are just not there.

If we lower expectations of team value this year to about $13.5mil at best, we are looking at an average spend per keeper for the next 10 at $516k each.

This is a simple way of looking at it and I have been working on a calculation that is a lot more complex, but the result is very similar.

What does this mean?

1) Trade hard for cash and maybe you will have more to spend. Danger is running out of trades.

2) sell a big whale to lower your keeper average. This may already be happening with Gawn being traded.

3) bargain hunt. Be prepared to get someone who might not be on your best 22 list, but their price just offers too good value. Knowing that every keeper bought over $516k means one that needs to be bought under $516k. This will require care timing and patient.

Otherwise we won't get a full premium team.

Just my thoughts…..

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 22:05

Derek I love your thoughts and insight

I see that cash generation will be tough and am seriously considering going Gawn to Preuss. Keeper to Keeper is the expected trade but am not convinced on other rucks. Annoyed I didn't pull the trigger and bring him in last week but can't do anything now. My other trade with obviously be Smith to Newman

    Hawks · 11/04/2017 at 22:08

    Great thinking.

    Borko · 11/04/2017 at 22:12

Interesting … looking for value keepers in DEF, FWD and RUC will be crucial to allow a big of extra cash for the MIDS. That's a good guide to work by … maybe sub 500k premos is a good target leading up to the byes

      Derek · 11/04/2017 at 22:27

I did some numbers comparing the top 20 defenders last year to the top 20 forwards and found that 20/20 forwards and 19/20 defenders at some point during the year was cheaper than their starting price.

      Docherty was the only exception.

The average difference between the start price and their lowest price was a fall of 29% forwards and only 8% for defenders.

There will be value, there always is.

        TRIGGER HAPPY · 11/04/2017 at 22:52

Good thing I started pretty much set and forget midfield with Beams at M7.
The Def and fwd line will drop in price and will jump on them at the right time.
They tend to be alot more inconsistent than your premo mids.

    Top hawk · 11/04/2017 at 22:32

Sounds great in theory Derek. A lot of moving parts are in play.

Things change. And they change FAST.

Finger on the pulse, instinct, and a bit of luck will make the coach competitive.

    Just my take.

    Northerner · 11/04/2017 at 22:42

I've got Sandi-Witts-Nank-Preuss combo. That's helped my cash generation outlook. I suspect we'll continue to see another Parfitt equivalent emerge. Might be Pickett this week. A lot will come down to injury required trading as to whether you will run out of trades to get all the cash cows as they emerge.

    Keenbutclueless · 12/04/2017 at 00:18

Great work Derek. After reading this I tried the math on my own team. I am 12-4-6. If we make an average of $150 per rookie then it may take between 2.5 to 3 rookies to get one premium. Let's say that's 18 trades to get 6 premos. Burnt 3 already to get the right rookies. Let's say it takes 1.5 to 2 trades to turn a mid pricer into a premium. That's between 6-8. That leaves between 1-3 trades left for injuries. Not enough. Seems like we will be stuck with some if not all the mid pricers. For me that means at least 2 of Mills Sandi Nank and Roughy need to still be there at the end. You are right Derek, that does feel a stretch. Might have to lower the sights at some point.

      Kev · 12/04/2017 at 09:13

I hate the term "keeper". If you picked Gawn start of the year he was a keeper. 645k. Same with Goldy. 588k. Same with NRoo yet most would have jumped off after his "4-6 week" injury. Higgins was a "must have" keeper last week at almost 90k under your 516k number, yet he dished up a 58

Interesting way of looking at things, Derek, but I agree with Top Hawk, just too many moving parts in the game of SuperCoach to stick to all future upgrades formula

        Derek · 12/04/2017 at 09:25

You are right Kev, many moving parts and maybe I do over think it and make it too complicated.

There is plenty of luck needed in this game but a bit of planning is always useful

You seem to be doing well and having a few little wins with selections, keep it going mate

      Derek · 12/04/2017 at 09:21

i think that might be the case Keen.

We might end the year with a midpricer or two. It wasn't that long ago I finished the year with Terlich.

      neil Demons Delight · 12/04/2017 at 13:40

Came up with similar figures to both Derek and Keen . My maths and using super gold figures leaves me with 20 good prems 3 sub 500 Hanna types included The remaining prems like Keen will be 2 of Sandi Nank and Oliver. The only way out of this is like last years champ who traded heavily and had none or very few trades post byes .This is dangerous and he was lucky I did similar and it backfired leaving me with Menapoo and Hewitt as starters but without cash cows you wont get premiums just really select right ones not Hannan types you will get stuck with

    INPieman · 12/04/2017 at 10:16

Agree with you Derek. I've come up with similar numbers. You certainly can't rely on Pickett to make any money. Not sure if there are 2 many gun rooks coming through soon. And now Stewart has a 22 turd hanging around for 3 weeks. Newman is a blessing. But are there anymore of those coming? Don't count on it

    Tommo09 · 12/04/2017 at 11:25

This is why I would like to pick up players like Hannebery if they drop to 450-500k as they are proven premos who are very cheap

I will be targeting Hanners, Shaw and even Gawn when he comes back in as he might be under 500

    Steeeve · 12/04/2017 at 12:27

In the grand scheme of things most of us will be nowhere near the money come season's end. So then we revert to playing for leagues. From one week to the next the difference between a definite top-10 mid (like say Treloar) and some bargain you picked up on the cheap (any fallen premo who you may conisder in that next tier, say top 15-20) is little more than a coin flip.

Neverweaken · 11/04/2017 at 21:49

Running Sandiwitts with Nank fwd and Strd for swing. Is it worth trading Strd out for Pruest?

    Not now

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 11:18

You will also use two trades bringing Preuss in, and trading him out for profit.

By seasons end max will be back, Current estimates are around round 15. Will need a few weeks but sc finals would be good to have him back

    Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 22:03

For mine Martin but you could easily go Grundy

    Top hawk · 11/04/2017 at 22:44

Stefan Martin. A true lone wolf going to work. Brisbane knows he can hold up, and deliver a quality footy.

Jack · 11/04/2017 at 21:51

Do people think Stef Martin will be a top 2 ruck for the rest of the season…with Gawn and Goldy cooked, i can really only see Grundy and Mumford challenging him for the top 2 rucks. Surely Martin would be a no brainer set and forget trade in right now?

    Rocksta · 11/04/2017 at 22:18

    Definitely.
Looks to be back to his best.

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 23:32

Mumford isn't that good so yeah

Youngy · 11/04/2017 at 21:56

IF I was to trade out TT-FM, who is best option:
SPS, GHS, Ainsworth or Broomhead? Or none of the above?

Wines or Cotchin. Thinking Cotchin really benefits fron dusty

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 23:29

    ATM wines

Northerner · 11/04/2017 at 22:31

I have picked up Newman.

No other trade a necessity, but I have the cash (just) to go Steele to Reiwoldt. Considering.

I picked Steele because I thought he could be an F6 for most of season and a late upgrade, but this trade is tempting.

I'm not flush with VC options as my mids are all putting out low 100s, e.g. Treloar. Reiwoldt would give me another VC option.

Thoughts?

    Tyruddanaut · 11/04/2017 at 23:28

Top VC option in the game would be probably Kennedy BECAUSE of his inconsistency. If you need a VC option up forward he is your man. If you want a player in general to have consistent scoring at 100+, Reiwoldt is your man but he will score at that "low 100" mark.
I think Steele should be kicked out but will that complete your forward lineup? You should have enough Forward rookies for cash gen at this point to have fielded rookies with enough options to do that.
SO the next option is DPP. Are you playing an in field rookie in ruck? Move him to the bench get Grundy or Martin. What about Mid? Got 2? Maybe 3 midpricers? 1 Rookie on field is a must… but not in mid. There are not many options. SPP, Barrett, McGrath and that's pretty much it. Maybe Parfitt but he won't chuck out scores like that every week.
In addition, if you can free a spot in defense TELL ME do you have Docherty, Laird, Adams AND Montagna/JJ/Jake Lloyd? That is the weakest line for rookies and NEEDS fixing first.
My final point is is Roo the right one if you want to go forward. Probably! Although, if you don't have Nank CONSIDER freeing up that extra cash of about 100k for around 5 less points per round. Roo had an 101 and a 161 so don't be fooled by his amazing game.

So all in all your verdict is the most important. Your call

      Northerner · 12/04/2017 at 06:02

      Thanks. Appreciate it.

I have my rookies right and my mid pricers are Clarry, Zac Jones, Sandi, Nank and Steele (and Beams that I'd put in a different category), so all have been between solid to excellent to this point.

I've also gone Sandi-Witts-Preuss in ruck which is also working.

My defence rookies are all producing cash, so no dead wood on that line to move on.

I only have SPP on field in mids with Clarry my only mid pricer.

I toyed all pre season in getting in Roo given he was moving to the wing and I thought that would increase his floor and therefore take away his KPF downside. I think he will be highest scoring forward from this point.

Used 2 trades for the year including Newman this week.

But it's not a must do trade and I think Steele is still valid for many weeks to come.

      Line ball.

DacZawson · 11/04/2017 at 22:39

As I put forward in a reply to a comment above, I think people should be wary of trading Taranto for Swallow (or something similar).

My hesitation behind the Swallow trade is that you are trading for a player that will be used as a cash cow and not a keeper.
Trading for Swallow will cost you money, so what you need to weigh up is:
Do you think that Swallow will make you more money than the 100k profit from trading Taranto to a rookie, plus the money that that rookie makes (at least 150k). If so, you would be expecting Swallow to reach a price of 530k.

Yes I understand that Swallow will score more points (most likely) than a rookie you bring in, but are those extra points worth it considering that you should be able to bring in a premium (who will score 10-20 points more than Swallow) earlier than if you were to take Swallow to his R9 bye and then trade.

If there are flaws in what I'm saying let me know.

    Rocksta · 11/04/2017 at 23:11

I agree with you. The only justification for trading in swallow is if you think he is going to be a Keeper. I think he is going to have a good season, but don't think he will be a top 15 mid, let alone top 10.
If people started with him, well done, but trading up from a rookie I agree is a waste of a trade.

    TBone · 12/04/2017 at 00:20

Also requires 2 trades, 1 to bring him in, 1 to trade out. Must consider that too

    Northerner · 12/04/2017 at 06:05

Agree completely. Unless you have a weak mid line with 2 onfield rookies then I think you could consider.

    Derek · 12/04/2017 at 09:26

This is the clear headed thinking that is required

Ja191 · 11/04/2017 at 22:51

should I trade out fyfe for the bont?

    no idea · 11/04/2017 at 22:56

Yeah and why you r at it why not trade danger for murph

    Rocksta · 11/04/2017 at 23:14

    And Trealor for Pendles
    And Selwood for Danger

    Harry H · 11/04/2017 at 23:33

This can't be a serious question. You must be trying to get a rise out of people

    Hubba · 12/04/2017 at 00:01

    Yes do it.

    Gaz · 12/04/2017 at 08:48

Waste of a trade – better to go Fyfe to the recruitment deal of the year Chris Mayne.

Peter Demetriou · 11/04/2017 at 23:10

Guys I need to get rid of Goldi.
Grundy or s. Martin?

    DacZawson · 11/04/2017 at 23:14

Really depends on if you think Archie Smith returns to the seniors or not. According to all reports he is tearing it up in the reserves, so is likely he will get a shot at AFL level this season at some point. Therefore I'd be leaning towards Grundy. However if Smith does not play, Martin should average more.

      Peter Demetriou · 11/04/2017 at 23:21

Grundy looks to be a safer option.
      S. Martin has a bit more risk and upside.
When is archi Smith likely to get a game, and would we expect it to be prolonged?

        Mich · 12/04/2017 at 08:04

Grundy also has mason cox to share it with who is more likely to play afl level than archie smith

        Peter Demetriou · 12/04/2017 at 23:00

I hate to do it premium down but I'm going whitts, holding off to see how this carnage settles. I'm the 300k banked from this and the Newman trade i'm aim to get in Hanneberry next round for O'mera.

Or would you take a stab at Grundy or S.Martin?

    Nookson · 11/04/2017 at 23:14

    Grundy

    Peter Demetriou · 11/04/2017 at 23:37

Hibberd for Newman though is a no brainer.

Steve · 11/04/2017 at 23:40

Gawn to Bont or Dahlhaus?
Swinging Nank into the Ruck so Dahl sures up my forward line but Champion Data's man crush is oh so tempting.

Thoughts community?

    Northerner · 12/04/2017 at 06:08

Bont. Consider Dusty. He gets all points with only Cotchin taking some from him. I think we have Dusty-Danger SC dominance emerging this year.

Hubba · 12/04/2017 at 00:05

My issue is that the guy im up against this week has virtually the same personnel as i do. Just 6 players different. Whats going on this year. Are there that few options out there. Just annoying really. Any one else seeing the same issues in their league?

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 11:11

Happens every year. After byes they will pick different players and team will have more points of difference.

    hedski · 12/04/2017 at 12:12

Played a mate last week only 3 the same!
He did only score @1700 tho, first or second year playing…mid priced madness, and not even good ones!!

    TheGreatBozza · 12/04/2017 at 13:01

Could he not think the same about you? Bit hard to be annoyed as it takes two teams to be the same. Teams will start to change with trades. Already the likes of Roughy/O'Meara/Steele are causing people to change their structures, plus the Gawn injury allows more room for experiements

John So · 12/04/2017 at 00:24

Herro guys, anyone think Jack Bowes is is worth keeping, or throw him in the wok and trade?

    Kev · 12/04/2017 at 08:59

I'd give him one more week. No standout downgrade options (unless you can get Newman for him).

      INPieman · 12/04/2017 at 10:20

I'd get rid of Bowes. Hayward is a better option if he's named

Helpplz · 12/04/2017 at 00:24

Tom Williamson will be on bubble next week…should I get him in his week Incase berry and Baltic have good games and Williamson performs well

    Kev · 12/04/2017 at 09:00

If you've got a plan to get rid of 3 rooks already then go for it

Ben · 12/04/2017 at 01:11

Hey fellas only have used one trade so far and have only 4k in bank.
Option1 – omeara to Newman through dpp.
Option2- hibbered to Newman.
Option 3 omeara to swallow and hibbered to Newman.
Option 4 omeara to Newman via dpp and ruck loop hole to prusse.
I'm thinking just hibbered to Newman as Omeara has low break even still and plenty of room for improvement. And I feel like I have missed boat with pressus and trading into him gives everyone who already owned him an advantage. What's everyone's thoughts?

    Kev · 12/04/2017 at 08:56

I agree with option 2, Ben. Stick with O'Meara. He'll do his job.

blueballs86 · 12/04/2017 at 01:42

hey all, I need some help with what to do this week with trades.
got around 200k in the bank was going to get rid of zach tuohy into newman and get rid of omera into an ollie wines or a dusty or pendles but he would chew alot of the bank up.

my team is the following
back
docherty, hampton, otten, laird, marchbank, tuohy (hibberd, guthrie)
mid
fyfe, danger, spp, omera, barlow, oliver , bont, beams, ( taranto, parfitt, barret,
ruck
nank, sandihands, (strdica)
forward
dahlhaus, buddy, petracca, roughy, steele, hoskin elliot ( butler, eddy)

any help would be great.

cheers chaps

    Northerner · 12/04/2017 at 05:36

Go the premium option. Whoever you think will be highest scorer. Peddles is silk but does share points. Wines a beast but not proven over a full year. Dusty is proven, does not share points and has taken his game to another level so would be my pick for what it's worth

      blueballs86 · 12/04/2017 at 07:32

cheers mate think ill lock dusty in

    Notorious mac · 12/04/2017 at 05:38

Im doing the same zach touhy trade. Then thinking omeara into sloane or even rockliff. I know bont would ve the best selection but every man and his dog has him

      blueballs86 · 12/04/2017 at 07:33

i looked at sloane its a tough call on who to choose. and who is gonna keep those big scores comin in

      Randomcliche2 · 12/04/2017 at 14:39

I'm keen to understand why you are trading Touhy. I hold him. Yes scores haven't been there in the last two weeks, but has anything changed, i.e. role, team mates not looking for him, getting the forward tag? What do you see as the issue?

        blueballs86 · 12/04/2017 at 19:46

i think the main reason im getting rid of him was to free up some cash to upgrade JOM to dusty, and i dont think he will be very consistant in getting me that 90-100 scores for what he is worth .

          hedski · 12/04/2017 at 21:08

Plays nearly every game and is now in a better team. Hold.

140kisk
Shaw, Adams, Tuohy, Mbank, Otten, Hampton, (Smith, Hibberd)
Pendle, Danger, JPK, Fyfe, Beams, Omeara, Swallow, Pepper (Barrett, Parfitt, Pickett)
Gawn, Sandi (Strnadica)
Dahl, Macrae, Nank, Rough, Hoskin,Elliott, Taranto ( Eddy, Hannan)
Smith to Newman? Gawn to Different Ruck
Trade Gawn to Newman, Hibberd into Mid, bank the cash to get prem Mid/Fwd. Nank Ruck.
Thoughts very helpful

    Shane · 12/04/2017 at 07:09

    Tuohy out Doch in

    Shane · 12/04/2017 at 07:11

    Gawn to S.Martin

    Tyruddanaut · 12/04/2017 at 09:47

Gawn out, Nank in ruck, parfitt/Pickett fwd, hibberd mid, Laird/Montana/Doch Def. personally I'd go Doch

Also if you want to use another trade, Touhy out, Premo DEF in PLUS Gawn out, Premo FWD/Ruck in
Ruck: Grundy/Martin would be the best options
FWD: Franklin, Reiwoldt and to a lesser extent Yeo, JJK and Tex Walker

      Mitch · 12/04/2017 at 10:40

Thanks, what about Newman, i should generate something there?

Next week upgrade someone to premo.

Rivo · 12/04/2017 at 08:12

Have decided to keep Nankervis at F3 with Stranadica loop at R3.

It comes down to Grundy or Stef Martin at R1. I am torn on this one. Any thoughts Community?

    Travo · 12/04/2017 at 08:41

Grundy. I don't have him, I have Nankilands, but if i were to bring in a ruck it would be him.

      Rivo · 12/04/2017 at 08:54

Thanks Travo. Do you have bench cover for Nankilands? If I took that path, I would not have cover, take a risk and go for Riewolt, Bont or Dusty.

        Tyruddanaut · 12/04/2017 at 09:41

If one of them gets injured or dropped soon, Darcy Cameron is a viable option, next to press and Witts who look to have secure spots in their teams. But Darcy Cameron has the benefit of price being cheap enough to upgrade Strndica.

Also Nank isn't cover for Sandi. He is cover for ALL ruck. You have him for this situation and you might as well use him and get the benefit of Bonts/Reiwoldts/Martins potential scoring ability.

    Blaknight · 12/04/2017 at 11:05

Martin. Grundy has a man bun and that's enough justification to not pick him. Well that's my train of thought and I'm sticking with it. Lol

    Northernsoul74 · 12/04/2017 at 11:15

It's an interesting one as everyone seemed certain you needed to run Nank as cover for Sandi. By moving him in the ruck to cover gawn you lose that cover. For those without the addition of Witts or Preuss it's a risk. I'd love to use Gawn to get Roo but do I really want to run Sandi and Nank in the ruck with no cover? I'll be grappling with this decision all week.

I have doch, laird, march, 0tten, Campton Newman,

Thoughts?

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 11:07

Chasing. Bet you didn't want Montagna after his 77.

They played the worst team in the league last week………….

        whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 15:31

        Haha

Top Gun · 12/04/2017 at 09:03

Montagna is definitely a keeper and should be a top 6 back this year. His average is however overinflated at present. Tuohy has a breakeven of 111 which isn't great for this time of the year. If you can afford it I would consider it but it depends on your overall structure.

Ja191 · 12/04/2017 at 09:13

thinking of trading watson out for murph, thoughts?

    jez_m · 12/04/2017 at 09:45

Tough one. Watson hasn't had a score under 90 yet but Murphy clearly has a higher ceiling. Personally I'd hold and save a trade. They will most likely end up averaging roughly the same I reckon.

    Tibor · 12/04/2017 at 13:58

Don't do it. The hard tag on Simpson will be back onto Murphy from this week

jez_m · 12/04/2017 at 09:43

What do we reckon community – Pickett or Hibberd out for Newman? I'm leaning towards Pickett.

    INPieman · 12/04/2017 at 10:29

If Hibbo doesn't get named this week I'd get rid of him. Pickett might bob up with a 60 eventually

      jez_m · 12/04/2017 at 10:41

I'm holding out hope, Pieman! His scoring has been very lackluster so far.

Andymagies · 12/04/2017 at 10:24

Great stuff fellas

Steeeve · 12/04/2017 at 10:38

Why do so many people want to trade Marchbank? I'm keen to go early on him but not for another two or three weeks. Sure the low score will stay with him in his price calculations, but he can average 80 easily. That's gonna have him pushing $400k

    jez_m · 12/04/2017 at 11:01

No plans to trade him just yet. His breakeven will need to probably hit 60-70 at least before I think about moving him on.

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 11:03

One low score in a very wet match. Let them trade away.

    uDonkey · 12/04/2017 at 11:42

Not waiting another week moving MBank this week for a keep have the cash to do it this week. My Premos Simmo, Shaw and Laird are not scoring well need a keeper who will score me 80+. I have enough rookies that will gain cash the likes of Otten, Hampton, Newman and Stewart.

Tim · 12/04/2017 at 10:52

Thinking of trading Simmo for Doc. I know this is very much a sideways trade, but there is a fine line between sideways trades for point chasing and a good corrective sideways trade. Reasoning is that I think I pulled the wrong rein with Simmo. Had him and Doc last year and they both served me extremely well. I chose Simmo over Doc because Simmo is very durable and I thought Doc would be the one to cop a hard tag. Seems I have got that one wrong based on the last couple of weeks. Also concerned about the amount of time that Simmo is playing forward – i.e. possible role change (?). So the question is do I take my medicine now and lose $37k and a trade or do I take a punt on Simmo regaining some form when he has a 180 BE and is likely to be mid to high 400s in the next few weeks. I accept that I could very well be looking to trade Simmo back in at some point soon, but isn't it better to jump back him on at a much lower price, rather than trying to find the extra cash to get Doc at mid to high 500s?

    Winter · 12/04/2017 at 11:16

As tempting as it is I'd hold… waste of a trade if your gonna get him back in

    uDonkey · 12/04/2017 at 11:48

I'd keep Simmo and look to getting Doc later on the season after the bye rounds. Like what winter said waste of trade if you're planning to get him back in.

    Derek · 12/04/2017 at 13:33

I read the first line only…………. NO

    Tibor · 12/04/2017 at 13:40

Cool your jets. You're seeing it all clearly re the tag on simmo. Stevie Wonder can see that tag is heading back Murph's way. You picked simmo for a reason time to stick fat

    neil Demons Delight · 12/04/2017 at 13:47

Thinking the opposite trading in Simmo These are perfect ins in my book Fallen prems who are proven .Hanna Simmo SHAW VERY HIGH on my wanted list.Get them 3 cheaply makes it easier to get pendle types later

Matty · 12/04/2017 at 11:19

Hey Community, i've been reading a lot of the swallow opinions and understand the reasoning. I have 6 premos in the mid all averaging over 100 and beams at m7 and spp at m8. I have avoided the ruck carnage and have no other issues in my side (ranked in the top 2000), 27 trades and 98k in the bank, and seriously considering trading taranto for swallow. Is there any logical justification or major issues for me getting swallow?
Any help is appreciated community.

    uDonkey · 12/04/2017 at 11:53

So tempting getting Swallow in, cheap on the bubble high reward. What worries me is that he is such a high risk injury prone, heck he might not play this week had a corky over weekend, plus round 9 bye. You might have to burn another trade to get him out.

    Derek · 12/04/2017 at 13:32

$280k investment. Big spend. Will you get a decent return on your investment?

Do the maths if he scores a couple of 80's

Winter · 12/04/2017 at 11:19

My bench is Stewart, Smith, Barrett, Pickett, Hibberd, Preuss, Parfitt, Eddy
With only 2.7k how should I get Newman in?
Was thinking either going Hibberd to Fox and Smith to Newman or other option is Pickett to Hayward.
Trading Hibberd and Smith gets rid of my loophole though

    TheGreatBozza · 12/04/2017 at 13:03

I've got the exact same problem. I think Newman is close to a must have for cash generation, so you may need to close a DPP link for now to get him in. I'm considering Hibberd > Newman via Adams (only DPP link down back) otherwise I'll need two trades to get in Newman.

      Winter · 12/04/2017 at 13:54

Cheers Bozza never thought of that, only reason I wouldn't is because I'd be putting SPP on the bench but then Newman would come in… Not sure how I feel about that

    neil Demons Delight · 12/04/2017 at 13:49

Hayward and Fox could be traps like Hannan .Be careful tradeing

      Winter · 12/04/2017 at 13:55

Yeah I'm tryna avoid putting them in but only reason is because I need cash

Riggers · 12/04/2017 at 11:21

Who to play on field. Newman or Marchbank?

    INPieman · 12/04/2017 at 11:26

Tough call. I'm thinking of playing both, but Marchbank back at Etihad should get plenty of intercepts. No chance of him playing in the wet again

      Riggers · 12/04/2017 at 12:09

Thanks Pieman, but have Adams, Lloyd, Laird, Rance and Hampton. So it is either Newman or Marchbank for my sixth spot or should Hampton become my emergency?

        SF4 · 12/04/2017 at 12:31

Newman is playing on Thursday so you can loop him in for a non playing rookie if he scores well.

          Nick · 12/04/2017 at 12:54

What if you don't have a non rookie playing?

            Riggers · 12/04/2017 at 12:57

Like you Nick, I have eight playing backs(at this stage) so who plays out of Marchbank, Newman and Hampton?

              Nick · 12/04/2017 at 17:21

has to be Marchbank and Hampton

        Derek · 12/04/2017 at 13:29

        Swing Adams to M8

          Riggers · 12/04/2017 at 13:43

Derek, you are so helpful but if/when I do that who goes onto the mid bench, O'Meara or SPP?
          The latter I suppose.

          Tibor · 12/04/2017 at 13:46

          There's the right answer

          Dutch · 12/04/2017 at 16:20

That's what I have done, using hibberd (nm) as my def loophole – crossed fingers there are no late outs in defense

        Tibor · 12/04/2017 at 13:45

Hampton my emergency playing both marchbank and Newman. Probably no right or wrong answer to this one. I was swayed by intercept boy marchbank playing indoor footy.

          Riggers · 12/04/2017 at 14:07

Yes Timor. young Marchbank didn't handle the conditions at all. I concur, indoors will suit him.

            Nick · 12/04/2017 at 17:20

hopefully Stewart gets dropped and we can use him as a loophole for C aswell

INPieman · 12/04/2017 at 11:49

Good news. Josh Jenkins ruled out this week which is awesome for Otten

    Derek · 12/04/2017 at 11:53

McGovern out for a fair time as well

    jockreynolds · 12/04/2017 at 13:46

    Great news!

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 13:52

    Otten would play anyway.

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 12/04/2017 at 16:51

    Bloody otters it's all BVC's fault 🙂

Asrian · 12/04/2017 at 11:55

Shit shit shit l.wamt to trade dusty in….bit l need to learn from.the mistakes of previous years to wait for the price drop. Is there go to hanners and save on cash.

Be strong help convince me l am right!!!!!

    Rick Grimes · 12/04/2017 at 17:42

I own Hanners and I wouldn't touch him. Still not sure he's 100%. Won't make his BE so can get him cheaper yet. Hold off for now

Jordan · 12/04/2017 at 12:05

Instead of trading out Gawn is it worth waiting for preuss to play Friday night and if he scores 90+ take his score so that I have another week to see which ruck emerges

    Youngy · 12/04/2017 at 13:32

Not a bad Idea as your not going to bring in Goldy or Naismith. I assume.

    hedski · 12/04/2017 at 18:44

Problem with that is you'll have to pony up extra $$$

John · 12/04/2017 at 12:17

DEFENDERS: Shaw, Howe, marchbank, McGrath, Hampton, otten (smith, Stewart)

MIDFIELDERS: danger, pendles, sloane, Fyfe, treloar, beams, o'meara, SPP (Barrett, parrfit, deluco Carrillo -loophole)

RUCK: Gawn, sandi (preuss)

FORWARDS: Dahl, macrae, franklin, Steele, butler, Taranto (turner, eddy)

I have 32000k in the bank and 28 trades

Thinking of going Gawn to nankervis and omeara out for jake Lloyd (via McGrath dpp)
OR
Gawn to Mumford as a massive pod and Taranto out for Newman (dpp – parrfit then McGrath

Thanks Community!!!

    Tibor · 12/04/2017 at 13:33

I finally settled on grundy for Gawn. Had other ideas that I could use it as an opportunity to generate cash and end up back with big max come SuperCoach finals time. Have accepted now that if he comes back mid to late season he will not be at his best and probably be sharing with Spencer.

Sometimes simple answer is best premo to premo when you have a long term injury. Considered stef but Archie can come in any time and stuff that up

      demon_spud · 12/04/2017 at 22:51

Cox could just do the same for Grundy. Grundy's first game with Cox = 82.
      Its Rucking Hell!!!

Tom · 12/04/2017 at 12:38

What to do with Jaeger and Kade Simpson?

    slats7 · 12/04/2017 at 13:19

    Keep.

    Dean Billman · 12/04/2017 at 13:30

Trade 'em all and let God sort 'em out.

    Youngy · 12/04/2017 at 13:30

    You Hold

    Krups · 12/04/2017 at 13:52

    Hold

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 15:29

    Hold

Mitchell · 12/04/2017 at 13:01

Currently have the under performing O'meara, T.Stewart and M.Hibberd not getting a game. Would like to bring in N.Newman for either Stewart or gibbered and Swallow for JOM. Still saying up the importance of cash generation vs the importance of holding trades.
Thoughts?
have only used the 1 trade thus far.

    Derek · 12/04/2017 at 13:22

    Didn't o'Meara get 36 touches 2 weeks ago?

      Jordan · 12/04/2017 at 13:41

Still didn't ton up with 36

      Mitchell · 12/04/2017 at 14:11

yeah he did, majority handballs and like Jordan said couldn't crack the 100 due to lack of kicks/tackles.
the blokes a gun and could come into form but just seems now that swallow's cash generation potential is much higher.

        whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 15:29

And going to Swallow costs a trade, plus he has round 9 bye vs round 13.

When the herd moves one way I suggest to go the other.

Sam · 12/04/2017 at 13:46

Quick team review/advice community…

I don’t have the Gawn/Goldy issue to deal with and I’m going to give JOM/Taranto a chance this week. So I’m thinking no trades….am I missing something blatantly obvious?!?!

Def: Adams, Laird, Marchbank, Mills, Hampton, Newman (Stewart, EVM)
Mid: Danger, Bont, Fyfe, Mitchell, Beams, Treloar, SPP, JOM (Barrett, Pickett, Atley)
Ruck: Grundy, Sandi (Preuss)
Fwd: Nank, Dahlhaus, Buddy, Lynch, Butler, Parfitt (Taranto, Eddy)

$48.5k in the bank and 28 trades left

    Tibor · 12/04/2017 at 14:35

Well played so far, you've got good premos, got cash generators you could pull the trigger on the likes of Taranto or JOM but for what you get for them with the bank you have nothing really jumps off the page imo. Those extra trades will be worth there weight in gold, You are flying…….

    John So · 12/04/2017 at 14:39

I reckon youre good to go! no need to use the trade if theres not an issue to fix. Im keeping jaegarbomb too, give him at least another week. But with possibly berry, mccluggage, balic, williamson getting a decent score, you might want to use both trades to bring two on the bubble next week!

    Dutch · 12/04/2017 at 16:15

Agree no need to trade this week, pending team announcements

    Sam · 12/04/2017 at 17:37

Thanks for taking the time to answer, much appreciated!

NickMacMan · 12/04/2017 at 13:54

Gawn to Witts or Martin?

Already have a stack of cash in the bank and bank fwd

Cheers

    Ben · 12/04/2017 at 13:55

    Martin

    Rick Grimes · 12/04/2017 at 17:44

Premo for premo. If Martin stays solo ruck he'll run amok.

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 18:47

Witts or Grundy. Don't like Archie.

Krups · 12/04/2017 at 13:56

To late to grab Otten for Stewart?

    NickMacMan · 12/04/2017 at 14:06

    yep

Kevdog · 12/04/2017 at 14:04

Thoughts on this trade:

Smith to Newman and Matt Crouch to Josh Kelly with 106k left in the bank.

Mitch · 12/04/2017 at 14:17

Thoughts on Howe. Not looking like average 100+ Should of load or stay strong

    John So · 12/04/2017 at 14:41

Howe has been pretty good! definitely hang onto him, unless you have the cash to upgrade to ultra premo like adams

    hedski · 12/04/2017 at 14:42

    Hold him, should ave 90+

    Randomcliche2 · 12/04/2017 at 14:52

I'm holding. Perhaps he just likes a slow start. He has been playing okay without the massive scores. I'm backing him in to turn it around.

    Tibor · 12/04/2017 at 15:03

Seen a lot of this bloke as a demons supporter and was sad to see him go to Collingwood. He is a huge talent and does some fantastic things obviously his marking being the obvious stand out. The problem has always been he doesn't do enough fantastic things. He disappears for periods within games and blocks of weeks within seasons, Jeremy is a highlight reel. Will always be a little frustrating as a player and a big bit frustrating as a SuperCoach pick.

    Cut your life losses

      Woodsman · 12/04/2017 at 15:09

Harsh but on the money Tibor

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 15:27

    105, 89 and 86?

    Wtf is the problem……….

    Dutch · 12/04/2017 at 16:13

If I had him I would be holding, was always going to average in the 90's and that is what he is doing

    Bucks · 12/04/2017 at 16:31

Mate, you're either ranked in the top 10 or you're off you're barnet. Howe is doing fine.

maxxy · 12/04/2017 at 14:24

fellas thinking of moving on Billings – thoughts?

    John So · 12/04/2017 at 14:42

Do you have the cash to upgrade him to a top 6 forward? do you have nank already?

      maxxy · 12/04/2017 at 15:21

iv definitely got the cash to do so and already got the Nank

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 18:48

Last year Billings was set to breakout too. Sorry but you got duped 🙁

Any coaches out there with Hickey ? holding ?

    maxxy · 12/04/2017 at 15:21

I've got him and im holding at this point

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 18:49

Just got a 112 against Martin. Hold for sure.

    Logan · 13/04/2017 at 10:37

Holding, could get in a Goldstein in a few weeks once he sorts himself out

Tibor · 12/04/2017 at 14:52

Is anybody else sick of ruckmen. What happened to the good old days where you just picked big Cox and even bigger Sandi and didn't have to worry about it from there. I've got the brace n bits with the current mob, first I only get one emergency and I have to factor in a dpp swing set, they get injured and properly injured at that, I have to worry about some upstart understudy like Archie coming in and stuffing up my main mans output,

Sick of the lot of them, they're just a pack of kids with anger management issues who kept getting the arse at basketball anyways

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 15:26

    Witts 200K averaging 98.33, Sandilands 300K averaging 93.67, Nank 367K averaging 115.

    Love the rucks this year.

Pack of kids? Talk about anger management issues!

Cliffy · 12/04/2017 at 14:54

Hello community,

Looking to move on J.Smith and Gawn this week.

First trade should be really simple and set-and-forget going J.Smith – Newman.

Then as for the second trade dealing with Gawn, there are multiple avenues I could potentially go with…

Option 1 is that I could move Gawn straight to another Ruck in the form of Grundy or Martin I'm thinking.

Option 2 I could thanks to DPP links turn Gawn into the Bont, Sloane or any other premium Mid of my choice thanks to having enough money leftover to do so.

What do you all reckon? Thanks 🙂

    Mitch · 12/04/2017 at 15:40

It's a tough one. I'm in the same position.
We had Nank in case Sandi went down. Unfortunately it's Gawn.
Can swing Nank alongside Sandi and see how it goes for a few weeks, until working out the best ruck option or keep your structure. Still not sure on what I'll be doing

      whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 18:50

You should make a move on a cheap ruck this week in Witts/Preuss.

Or of course wait to see how things pan out and grab a premo.

TBone · 12/04/2017 at 14:56

Anyone know how young Haywards job secuirty is looking up at the Swans? looking to bring him in for the underperforming Jack Bowes. Cheers guys!

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 15:38

Too risky with swans losing they are going to drop kids quicker than a schoolbus.

    Heeney, Mcveigh, 1-2 weeks.

    Papley, Rohan, Tippett, 1 week.

      TBone · 12/04/2017 at 16:57

cheers. any other forward rookies worth having a look at?

      SCaddict · 12/04/2017 at 16:58

He's been very good and I'm sure Horse wants to get plenty of games into him at some point, perhaps once it becomes clear that the Swans can't play finals.

However short term JS is certainly far from rock solid so there is some risk there. I'd probably wait for a Berry or Balic next week depending on how they go this weekend but that's just me.

Cliffy · 12/04/2017 at 14:59

Also some additional information on the relevant lines in my team (in terms of the 2nd trade):

Mids: Danger, JPK, Treloar, TMitch, Beams, Fyfe, SPP, Barrett (Parfitt, Hibberd, Pickett)

Ruck: Gawn*, Sandilands (Strandica)

Fwds: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Nank, Roughead, WHE, Butler (Houston, Eddy)

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 15:33

Witts, if either witts or sandi go down you can swing Nank.

I still think Witts is worth the risk at 300K being lone wolf ruck at GCS.

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 15:34

Don't get him now he is gone.

Preuss has competition in Goldy and Majak.

      hedski · 12/04/2017 at 16:59

      Who's gone watchya?

        whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 17:05

Just saying if you don't get Witts now it would probably be too late to consider him in the future after another big price rise.

They could always go with a gun like Grundy of course.

          hedski · 12/04/2017 at 17:21

Aahhh, no worries, I'm going Witt's.

Jonathan · 12/04/2017 at 15:12

Is it too late to jump on Murphy

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 15:32

I'd never jump on Murphy, I'd jump over him and get a proven uber premium.

      finnigin · 12/04/2017 at 17:27

fit for the first time in three years , jump on

        whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 17:47

True, he is a gun, but too risky for mine and will cost two trades one in and one out if he flops or gets injured.

I have gone with budget rucks so they will cost me trades as is. I'm sure some people will be able to take the risk.

Shake n bake · 12/04/2017 at 15:48

    FetusDave · 12/04/2017 at 16:32

What do you think his chances of getting a recall in the next few weeks are?

      SCaddict · 12/04/2017 at 16:54

He is certainly on the fringe. He was also set to miss Rd2 as well until he was a super late in, just minutes before bounce down, which stuffed up Derek, the Phantom and a number of others who put the C on him for captain's loophole. So it could be a while before he gets senior games again unless injuries strike of course. It's always hard to guesstimate that sort of stuff though.

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 12/04/2017 at 17:13

pull ya bloody finger out this week balic and we may have a replacement for eddy for next week.

jwill2bong · 12/04/2017 at 15:59

is there anyway to check other players trading history?

    hedski · 12/04/2017 at 18:50

No, there was a site, but it got culled, its why you can only see other teams scoring players not their bench.

      Dutch · 12/04/2017 at 21:12

Whilst games are active over the weekend, you can see the full teams of everyone in your league including bench players – if you want to plan ahead you can take a screen snapshot of your upcoming opponents for future reference. I do have full Gold access mind you via my online H-S subscription, not sure if that makes a difference.

        hedski · 12/04/2017 at 22:08

I see what ya mean Dutch but that's a lot of work, the site I mentioned was "sctradecounter" and you could type any team name in.

Gawn (out) nank (in) and then
Omeara (out) jake Lloyd (in) via McGrath
Or
Gawn (out) Stefan Martin (in) and then +36k
Taranto (out) Newman (in) via parrfit and McGrath + 180k

I like 2, although you could also go Nank and Newman.

finnigin · 12/04/2017 at 16:22

gday all got a dilema have traded swallow and newman in for guthrie and ohmy , should i reverse and keep ohmy, is it a waste of a trade, handball only at training last night swallow on the bubble and proven vote getter, currently 1100 , appreciate any feedback

Jimmy · 12/04/2017 at 16:58

Given the lack of decent fwd rookie options on the bubble would bringing in dan butler still be a good idea if you wanted to downgrade someone like a steele or a roughead? I wouldnt do either but ive got a bet on with a mate and need to upgrade O'Smeara to someone half decent.

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 17:07

    Don't like it. Maybe Broomhead.

finnigin · 12/04/2017 at 17:17

they were my thoughts as well but if i swing hibbert to mid to accomadate newman i have to swing mcgrath that leaves me with pitford , pepper and barrot and mcgrath to choose for mid and no swing appart from adams , wtf lol ,, now you know why im fooked up

Notorious mac · 12/04/2017 at 17:49

Obviously not scoring like a keeper and never really has. Got sucked in by good pre season scores

Derek · 12/04/2017 at 18:45

Oh Dang! Lobbe injured

    hedski · 12/04/2017 at 18:53

    Ha.

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 18:55

Port lost twice to them last season, one was a big one.

Would be very surprised if they got up this week with no main ruck.

      Russ in W.A · 12/04/2017 at 20:03

They've still got Trengove and Dixon to Ruck there.

        whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 20:35

True, still reckon they'll struggle vs Mummy.

          Russ in W.A · 12/04/2017 at 20:38

Yeah Mummy will probably squash em both like cockroaches lol

The benchmark · 12/04/2017 at 18:51

How many trades is everyone sitting on?

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 18:57

26 after using one this week for Newman.

Had to trade Tom Stewart although I kinda didn't want to.

Might also do Eddy up to a gun if dropped but not sure.

      Russ in W.A · 12/04/2017 at 20:02

      Eddy is dropped.

        whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 20:38

Think I'm going to keep him anyway at this point. Time to save trades.

    Russ in W.A · 12/04/2017 at 20:07

    28 here.

    Ben · 12/04/2017 at 20:24

    29

    hedski · 12/04/2017 at 22:10

    124 over my 5 teams….

hedski · 12/04/2017 at 18:51

Everyone? All got the same team hey??

whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 18:59

Yep Fyfe is a terrible vice option for me!

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 19:00

    * with no Maxy Gawn especially

Shane · 12/04/2017 at 18:59

Doch, Adams, Laird, Mbank, Otten, Hampton, (Stewart, Hibberd)
Danger, JPK, Fyfe, Beams, Shuey, T.Mitchell,Trelaor, Pepper (Barrett, Parfitt, Maynard)
Nank, Sandi (Strnadica)
Dahl, Macrae, J.Kennedy, Houston, Hoskin,Elliott, Butler ( Eddy, Pickett)

Thoughts

    whatyasmokin · 12/04/2017 at 19:01

    Get in Newman?

Dnoyes · 12/04/2017 at 20:03

Is it worth moving Eddy out this week for Hayward or Fox? Or should I just use him as a loophole this week and then consider Berry/Balic/other next week?

Superfish · 12/04/2017 at 20:11

Thoughts on these trades
Goldie>witts gives me a heap of cash to upgrade O'Meara to a mrphy or bont or use that cash to upgrade Taranto to nank. or just swap Goldie for grundy I still have 30 trades.
Any help is appreciated.

    Russ in W.A · 12/04/2017 at 20:23

I'd go Witts and the Nank, good points and still good money coming.

Incredible · 12/04/2017 at 20:24

Is it worth downgrading Marchy to Nic Newman, so that I can jpgrade JOM to dusty with 5k left?

    Russ in W.A · 12/04/2017 at 20:28

I guess if you really want them both, but Marchbank still has some cash to make, and Dusty will drop in price during the year, he always does and then bounces back. It would be nice to have Dusty, but I'm gonna wait till he's 100 k less.

      Incredible · 12/04/2017 at 20:31

You really think dusty isn't worth it?

        Russ in W.A · 12/04/2017 at 20:35

He's worth it mate, he's a super premo, all I'm saying is historically, he usually always has a period during the season when he drops in price a fair bit, may or may not happen i'm not a Prophet, but has done in the past. planty of times he's dropped down to the low 500's, even into the 400's.

          Russ in W.A · 12/04/2017 at 20:36

          Plenty, not planty lol

Ben · 12/04/2017 at 20:24

Robbie fox is he worth a pick

    Sam · 12/04/2017 at 20:27

    Lock

Swannie · 12/04/2017 at 20:27

I have Hogan sitting on the bench, do I trade for Alex Neal Bulleen… Or keep Hogan – thoughts….

patrick · 12/04/2017 at 22:55

howdy guys just wondering what i should do this week please !

def: docherty, m boyd, laird, otten, hampton, stewart (e vw, hibberd)
mid: danger, pendles, JPK, fyfe, beams, treloar, spp, swallow, (pickett, miles, barret)
rucks: grundy, sandi (pruess)
for: dahl, macrae, nank, houston, steele, parfitt, (taranto, eddy)

50k and 29 trades left cheers guys

    musicissport · 13/04/2017 at 18:17

Hibberd to Newman, that's prob all you need this week.

What_Bear · 13/04/2017 at 00:03

Hello all, need some advice on trades for this week please.

Adams, Laird, Shaw, Marchbank, Mcgrath, Ottens (Hampton, Stewart)
Danger, Fyfe, Mitchell, Beams, Treloar, Hannebery, SPS, SPP (Parfitt, Taranto, Barret)
Martin, Sandilands (Strnadica)
Dahlhaus, Lynch, Roughead, Nank, WHE, Butler (Houston, Eddy)

I am happy with my team, but have no cash (15K)

Do I need Newman? If so, who do I cut?

Any advice would be appriciated

    Bruce · 13/04/2017 at 02:07

Cut Eddy, swing Taranto fwd, swing McGrath to mid, bring in Newman

red5 · 13/04/2017 at 08:25

I've got Gawn, Sandi, Preuss and Nank
Traded Gawn for D. Cameron.
Still got 3 rucks playing. 2 as Ruck (Sandi & Preuss) and Nank fwd.
Nank can be subbed in from the Fwd line for Cameron if Sandi or Preuss are injured or dropped.
Use Cameron for the VC loophole
480K in the bank for a premo upgrade next week.
Has anyone got a better option?

Andy · 13/04/2017 at 08:25

Should I start Robbie fox or SPP (have both)

    musicissport · 13/04/2017 at 18:16

    Fox

Ben · 13/04/2017 at 08:37

Hi all,

Needing some advice on my team and possible trade options if people wouldn't mind. Currently ranked 26,024 overall.

DEF: Shaw, Laird, Howe, Lloyd, Marchbank, Otten (Hampton, Stewart)
MID: Dangerfield, Treloar, Fyfe, T. Mitchell, M. Crouch, Beams, Steele, SPP (Barrett, Parfitt, Hibberd)
RUCK: Grundy, Sandilands (Cameron)
FWD: Dahlhaus, T. Lynch(GC), Nankervis, Hoskin-Elliot, Butler, Houston (Eddy, Pickett)

Will certainly go Hibberd –> Newman (via Lloyd DPP)
However, I do not gain cash from that trade and remain with $27.6k.

No other major issues, except have a few premiums who just are not quite producing the goods as I thought they would (e.g. Lynch, Treloar, Crouch) but dont think I should trade just yet as I dont really have the $$$ to get anyone super worthy and "performing".Thoughts??

This means I will only make 1 trade this week.

    Danny · 14/04/2017 at 07:42

Stick with the one trade, not enough possible improvement there to warrant a second. Team looks ok, just need a bit of luck. In a few weeks when your forward cows fatten up you can take one to market & shift Steele forward & get another midfield gun in!

BARAK · 13/04/2017 at 08:40

Hi
Thanks for te podcast and updates.
First year playing and was wondering about a few techniques.
I have rob murphy is defence as a regular starter, solid scorer etc. Do i start him or a rookie (newman) and look for points and take a chance. Alot around planning to just use rookies for cash, how do you bring them into your starting team.
Okay, I've got beams and last week had Ainsworth in my starting lineup. SPP and parfitt are emergencies. Last week neither went in automatically, so left on 2,380.
What do managers do and when to gamble with rookies.

    musicissport · 13/04/2017 at 18:16

Generally with rookies when their BE matches their average then it's probably time to trade them.
Always back your premo over a rookie for on field.
    Welcome!

      BARAK · 13/04/2017 at 19:30

      Thanks very much

    Danny · 14/04/2017 at 07:35

Agreed! If a rookie is that good he forces a premo onto the bench, the premo needs to be turned into another bench rookie to free up some cash!

Mitch · 13/04/2017 at 09:54

Who is the better in?

Bont
Martin
Pendles
Sloane

Thanks community

    Danny · 14/04/2017 at 07:32

All gold, bont & martin with higher ceilings as the year goes on though!

Travo · 13/04/2017 at 10:53

Decision to make on what rookies start on the field.

Midfield: Taranto or SPP?

Forward: 2 of Parfitt, Butler and Houston?

    Danny · 14/04/2017 at 07:29

    SPP & Butler

DavidSA · 13/04/2017 at 13:22

JOM > Fox
Taranto > Newman
= 333k cash
Total in bank for next week is 472k

Next week:

Swing McGrath into backline and Adams into midfield.
Trade McGrath and Marchbank to 2 premo defenders, might get Shaw/Simpson and Docherty

This will give me 5 premo defenders and 6 premo mids after next week.

DAVIDDDDDDDDDDD · 13/04/2017 at 14:00

Bont v dusty to replace gawn?

Low hanging berries · 13/04/2017 at 15:45

musicissport · 13/04/2017 at 18:02

JOM rumoured to be out this week!
