INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 08:14

Hibbo Jnr to Newman will be the most popular trade in history next week. The Malcheski clone

    neil demons delight · 08/04/2017 at 08:25

Berry better for my structure but hard to pass how many cows do we need cant do this each week

      INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 08:31

Berry is a tantalising prospect. Those like Derek who started him knowing he'd come in, well played. I get the feeling Newman & Berry are must haves. If Balic played for anyone other than Ross he'd be in my team right now. The kid is a jet

        Moustachio · 10/04/2017 at 08:31

Berry spudded… Phew, can't fit em all in

    Nick · 08/04/2017 at 19:11

Smith to Newman you mean. A lot of people kept him for this reason .

    marcusproudson · 11/04/2017 at 07:17

So I've traded Newman in for hibberd like everyone in history. But I'm also thinking of either trading tuohy for otten for extra cash. Or up to Taylor Adams. Or maybe omera to Oliver. Or should I hold and wait a week. Thoughts.?

INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 08:24

7K traded Hanners out. Might be a few tears in Corn Flakes this morning. I'm going to pass the collection tray around today & see I can raise enough for Gary to give me a decent score! I'm going to back you in Gary! DO SOMETHING

    King · 08/04/2017 at 09:28

I kept Hanners, BUT I'm not happy at all, the mans knees are about to fall off. Copped another hit in knee and hardly played in the last and was grimacing when he came back on…..abit envious of people who took him out now, thought he was going to pay us back but now price is going to drop and not sure about his health.

      Holmes_Heroes · 08/04/2017 at 10:19

took me all week of staring at my team but turned Hanners into Zerrett at about 5pm. 112 not enough to make me regret the decision (130 next week might ๐Ÿ™‚ ). I think Zerrett will do better than that against Carlton. I'll cop the wasted (if it is wasted) trade for my disloyalty in not backing my man Zach and the extra sleep I will get not obsessing over Hanners knees

        JibJib · 08/04/2017 at 12:18

        Tony · 10/04/2017 at 15:13

Same here, but I went to Wines and the change got me WHE for Joel Smith via DPP.

Hanners got a lot of the ball for 112, just like he got a reasonable amount of it the week before. I'm worried that he's not scoring well as he's not able to be as effective as before due to whatever he's carrying. And seeing him limp through the last quarter convinced me there's something wrong.

I also think Wines will be a beast for the rest of the year, which is why I got on.

    jockreynolds · 08/04/2017 at 10:26

Love it Pie – if GAJ doesn't pull the finger out this week he never bloody will!

      Dan · 08/04/2017 at 11:00

GAJ needs to be careful when he pulls that finger out…might hurt his shoulder.

      Kim · 08/04/2017 at 14:02

Can GAJ play yes he can great players do not loose their ability.what coaches are not condidering is opportumity simply GAJ will not be there next season so Rocket Eade has to plan for the future and commit that midfield time to try and find the best replacement.

    PD09 · 08/04/2017 at 12:37

Good work Pieman…back in the premo you studied & decided to run with at season start

I tossed & turned all week over Hanners & went back to why I started with him in the 1st place…proven premo over last 2-3 yrs

I stayed & was rewarded at least last night…he got back to his basics that made him the player he is, hard running, tackling & clean hands. He now becomes a POD too.

    Back Gaz…

      INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 13:01

Nice work PDO. He sure is a POD now & you've saved a trade. Good luck

    Tommo09 · 08/04/2017 at 12:48

    Like Gaz this week
He may have just needed a boot up the backside to get going

      INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 13:02

He certainly had a spray from me this weeke tommo. Hope it fires him up

        Tommo09 · 08/04/2017 at 13:05

Will be hoping to pick him up around bye time if he shows something before then

Swannie · 08/04/2017 at 08:38

I traded Mills to Newman, extra cash put in Oliver – looks to be a win win for me….

    INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 08:42

BANG! Nice one Swannie. Give us the quaddie for Randwick today please

    Tophawk · 08/04/2017 at 09:00

Nice job! (So far……) Sometimes it can be a clever little strategy to go one week early on these potential gun rookies. It worked a treat for you this week. Love it. I will get Nic Newman next week for the injured Joel Smith. Yes, bit more conservative, bet still very effective nonetheless! I hope part two of your move bears fruit and Oliver puts in a big one! Cheers

    BloodyFranklin · 08/04/2017 at 10:57

    "Delicious" – Bruce

Rhys · 08/04/2017 at 08:40

Should I trade Pickett to Houston? Will mean I have to swing Taranto on to my mid bench.

    Dildor · 08/04/2017 at 08:42

With the ammount of juicy rookies about to swing through id say sit tight and wait

    Swannie · 08/04/2017 at 08:43

Houston to go up in price by $70k – I would try and play Taranto if you can….

    INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 08:55

It would suck bringing Houston in only to be dropped next week for Pittard. The gods have a habit of doing these things

    Kenny · 08/04/2017 at 11:01

Port lost another defender (Hombsch) with a knee this week so Houston's JS has maybe stabilised for a couple weeks

      JibJib · 08/04/2017 at 12:19

      "Maybe" ๐Ÿ˜‰

        harry · 09/04/2017 at 11:31

i did this exact move rhys! traded pickett to houston and swang taranto to my mids bench. may downgrade him to berry in coming weeks anyway

Sam_01 · 08/04/2017 at 08:43

Take pendles loophole or back in the dangerman? Leaning towards the conservative option and taking dependleberrys score. I'm a fool for even considering not putting him in my team haha

    Rhys · 08/04/2017 at 08:51

Take pendles. Danger record against the Dees not great

    INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 09:01

The 125 is right inside the corridor of uncertainty. But Danger is in menacing form & I'm going to back him to beat that

    Tophawk · 08/04/2017 at 09:11

Just leave it on Danger. I will be doing it for the third week in a row after Buddy's spudly effort last night. (Treloar VC rd 1, Treloar VC rd2, and Buddy VC rd 3) Dangermouse is playing imposing footy at the moment. I am confident he will deliver the SC goodies against the Dees today. Cheers

      hedski · 08/04/2017 at 10:02

I've vcd the same each week.

        Tophawk · 08/04/2017 at 10:32

Hehehehe. We have been utter VC dunces to date. But who really cares when Danger puts on a clinic each week. Good luck in the leagues mate!

        Dutch · 08/04/2017 at 10:42

Nearly the same as well – Treloar / Buddy / Buddy – same result each round so far, hoping Danger saves me for the 3rd week running ….

    Danners · 08/04/2017 at 10:21

I have the same problem, but after having a think, even if Danger scores 150, you're only losing 25 points

      Krups · 08/04/2017 at 10:31

      Be 50 points wouldn't. 125 x 2 is 250 vs 150 x 2 is 300?

        Kyle · 08/04/2017 at 10:41

you would lose the extra 125 from pendles vc and gain 150 from danger as c. Only 25 mate

          The Ranger · 08/04/2017 at 10:50

It's a common piece of maths to get wrong Krups.
          In the example above…
          Danger as C on 150, Pendles with 125 works out as 150 + 150 + 125 = 425
          Pendles as C on 125, Danger with 150 works out as 125 + 125 + 150 = 400

        Tophawk · 08/04/2017 at 10:43

Not quite. This is how it works.
        Take VC Pendles score= 125 x 2 + 150 (Danger score)= 450 points total

        Do not take Pendles VC score= 150 x 2 + 125(Pendles score)=425 points total.

As such, taking Pendles VC score will only cost you a net total of 25 points.

          hedski · 08/04/2017 at 10:50

          Ha ha. 125 + 125 + 150 = 400.
          125 + 150 + 150 = 425.
          25 points.

            Top hawk · 08/04/2017 at 11:47

Maths has never been my strong point. LOL. Got the 25 point bit right though. Hehe

    Kenny · 08/04/2017 at 11:03

How the hell did Pendlebury score 125 in the first place is the real question!!

      Derek · 08/04/2017 at 11:22

Tophawk · 08/04/2017 at 08:52

Once again, we see coaches fall for the 3 card trick. Trade out a super premo (Hannebery) and get absolutely punished for it. He pumped out 112 SC points and is now close to being back to performing at the elite level. I also felt that WHE was going to taper off a bit against the swannies and that is exactly what happened. I am glad I stuck fat and not select the bloke this week. I am not saying it WHE was a bad pick, but there are many more (even better) cash generating rooks set to come through over the next month. Next week I can dispose of the injured Joel Smith. Goodbye Smith and hello Nic Newman!! I still have Hibberd and he might play next week….If not, he will be a nice little loophole option until such a time a power rookie on the bubble takes his spot.

I do not have the Nank and I want the Nank badly. (My only trade consideration this week). I am considering trading out my unreliable "POD" premo Aaron Hall. I do not consider him a must keep super premo like Hanners, but more that spekky midfielder which could turn into a super premo. After his 44 last round, I am not sure it is going to happen. He has inconsistency written all over his forehead!! I should have know bloody better! Therefore, I think it is strategically logical to trade him out for Nankervis and bank a little bit of coin for rookie trading and to prepare for the next super premo upgrade.
Any thoughts are always appreciated. Getting ready to hit that trade button this morning. Cheers

    INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 09:06

Under normal circumstances trading a premo to a mid pricer is madness. But I think this is a rare case where that is acceptable. Nank looks like a top 6 forward at the moment

      Tophawk · 08/04/2017 at 09:18

That is exactly how I see it. Normally, I would NEVER entertain such a trade, but my gut tells me that Nankervis is an absolute must have. I could leave Hall alone however, and do a straight Steele to Nankervis trade. I can afford that. But I reckon Steele is strategically more important than bloody Hall!! That's what it comes down to. One of these two is going this morning. Nankervis is coming in. And I just think Hall is the better replacement for him than Steele. Thanks mate!

        INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 09:41

With Steven & Armitage missing I won't be moving Steele on any time soon. And playing at Etihad suits his game

        Derek · 08/04/2017 at 11:53

I didn't start with the Nank and was one of the non believers.

My first trade this week was Mills to Nank. Straight sideways correction trade.

Premos MUST be trade to another premium and only if injured

          INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 12:00

Rules are made to be broken Derek. Hall has no chance of being a top 15 midfielder. Nank could be a top 6 forward. And it gives him some cash. I like that trade & id do it myself in that situation

            Top hawk · 08/04/2017 at 17:19

Thanks pie! Nankervis is the man! I knew he would deliver today. Very very happy. He will end up with around 110 against the Eagles today.

    Schick · 09/04/2017 at 20:57

Traded hanners to Murphy and marchbank. Burnt a trade but comfortable with the choice. Not sure that hanners and a trade is worth more this year

neil demons delight · 08/04/2017 at 09:13

Looked closely at Hall preseason but didn't I think its the Suns that swayed me

Swannie · 08/04/2017 at 09:18

Randwick Quaddie – 9 7 1 2…. Randwick R1 N8 EW, there you go INPieman…

    Top Gun · 08/04/2017 at 09:25

Ocean Embers in the last Swannie

      INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 09:40

Might have a piece of that Swannie. Cheers. Winx is a free leg of the quaddie

Swannie · 08/04/2017 at 09:22

I have Hall in my mid, kept him this week for the reasons above. I learnt last year as soon as you trade them out, Boom they score – but if doesnt perfom this week going to look at Heppell…

Mike · 08/04/2017 at 09:25

Stuck with hanners after a week of crazy substitute trades. Finally he produced. Happy and hopefully more 110+ scores from him

GC suck · 08/04/2017 at 09:35

Eddy pickett or parfitt???

    GC suck · 08/04/2017 at 09:36

    Cant loophole

    Tophawk · 08/04/2017 at 09:41

I would put Eddy on the field.

Col · 08/04/2017 at 09:51

Currently running 2 rookies on field in fwd line

Who should I have on field
Butler, Hannan, Eddy or Parfitt?

    Tophawk · 08/04/2017 at 09:57

I would run with Butler and Eddy.

    TBone · 08/04/2017 at 10:23

    Butler and Eddy

    Danners · 08/04/2017 at 10:29

    Butler and Hannan

Dan · 08/04/2017 at 09:56

Snagged him this week in my 1 trade hibberd to newman….newman on field hampton on bench faaaaarrrrrkkkkkking bang bang

Luxy · 08/04/2017 at 10:08

Just wondering whether to keep Adams 122 as C via loophole?

    Seeker · 08/04/2017 at 10:20

Assuming Danger is an option but who else do you have?

I'm considering TMitch against the Suns

      Luxy · 08/04/2017 at 10:41

Yes have Danger but thinking 'points in the bank' and not speculating I suppose. Danger could go off as he has been doing but… Titch has a great record v Suns

Port · 08/04/2017 at 10:11

Should I trade in Houston? Could darcy byrne Jones make way for pitted?

    Derek · 08/04/2017 at 11:26

Let it be someone else's problem if or when he isn't picked. Same with Otten, he might play next week.

CRIPPStoniteSC · 08/04/2017 at 10:19

Who out for mccarthy lads? Houston or hannan?

    Danners · 08/04/2017 at 10:29

    Houston, should make quick cash

Saundo · 08/04/2017 at 10:21

Should I trade Hibberd to Otten or pick up Newman next week?

Krups · 08/04/2017 at 10:29

Put him in last week Jock

Skindog · 08/04/2017 at 10:29

Trelor is doing my head in, not quite a premo in my eyes, I do t want to but could see a sideways in the not to distant future if he can't get his de up,,,,

    Saundo · 08/04/2017 at 10:32

Yeah if it wasn't for his 14 tackles he probably would have scored 90 ! I was very close to trading him to Merrett this week.

      Derek · 08/04/2017 at 11:28

That's like saying if it wasn't for Grundy getting 30 HO he would have only got 90. It's what he does!

Trelor has SO much UPSIDE it's not funny

    CRIPPStoniteSC · 08/04/2017 at 10:34

Scores are getting better each week…trade away

    Skindog · 08/04/2017 at 10:50

    Hes on notice,,,,,,

    Rusty · 08/04/2017 at 12:04

When the pace of the games slow as the season progresses, Treloar will be rolling along pumping out 125 a game. It's a longgggg season

      Skindog · 08/04/2017 at 13:54

can only hope so, but its his DE thats the problem,,,

TBone · 08/04/2017 at 10:29

Any way I can check the updated team sheets for teams playing after friday night? want to know whether pickett and barrett will be playing or not. Cheers!

    hedski · 08/04/2017 at 10:53

    Both named Tbone.
AFL live app shows final teams about 90 mins before each game.

      Kev · 08/04/2017 at 11:09

Sunday teams are finalised around 5ish on Friday night, tbone. Afl site has an 'all the teams' banner all weekend

      TBone · 08/04/2017 at 14:29

thanks mate, ill hop right on it!

      TBone · 08/04/2017 at 14:30

      cheers! appreciate the info mate

Tom · 08/04/2017 at 10:33

Should I put the C on Danger or Bont? Danger has the Dees who his record isn't great against and Bont is playing Fremantle's youth squad. Already used the VC on Buddy

Cliffy · 08/04/2017 at 10:48

Hey community,

Which on-field rookies are people rolling with this Round?

This is currently my outlook:

Def: Hampton, Otten
Mid: SPP, Barrett
Fwd: WHE (locked), Houston

    Cliffy · 08/04/2017 at 11:59

Whoops was meant to throw in Marchbank too for Defence that I'll play also.

Cliffy · 08/04/2017 at 10:53

Additionally to that question, would it be safer to have just SPP fielding as my only on-field Mid rookie rather than having 2 on-field?

This could be done via moving Dahl or Macrae into Mids, however it means I have to play 3 on-field Fwd rookies instead of 2. This would look like:

Mid: Danger, JPK, Treloar, Fyfe, TMitch, Dahlhaus, Beams, SPP (Barrett, Hibberd, Parfitt)

Fwd: Macrae, Roughead, Nankervis, WHE, Butler, Houston (Pickett, Eddy)

    hedski · 08/04/2017 at 12:08

    Hey Cliffy, I'm running-
    Def – M'Bank, Otten, Hampton.
    Mid – SPP and Taranto.
Fwd – Houston + looping Butler and Eddy.
If you think Butler will outscore Barrett make the shuffle.

Tommy · 08/04/2017 at 10:54

Which rookies on field out of
Def: Otten or Stewart
Fwd (pick 2): Butler, Houston or Hannan

    Eskimo · 08/04/2017 at 11:01

    Kev · 08/04/2017 at 11:05

    Def: Otten
    Fwd: Houston, Butler

    TBone · 08/04/2017 at 14:33

I went stewart. butler and houston up forward

      Adam · 09/04/2017 at 06:32

I went plowman it was the smart play

Eskimo · 08/04/2017 at 10:55

Hamburger Hampton or beef Stewart for on field def rookie

    Kenny · 08/04/2017 at 11:08

Hampton named to start on the ball but team selections aren't reliable .. Stewart looks to be good for 50-60 each week so if you think Hampton is likely to score more then that is your answer.

Jack · 08/04/2017 at 11:05

Taranto to Houston??

    adam · 08/04/2017 at 11:18

no. job security is similar. i feel that cash generation will be similar too. save your trade

Derek · 08/04/2017 at 11:30

You are at the top of your game Kev. Well done

Jimmy · 08/04/2017 at 11:35

Who out of Danger, Selwood and Fyfe?
Not sure about danger tho cos his history against Melbourne isn't that good.

Cheers guys

    Daniel · 08/04/2017 at 14:19

I've seen a few people write that about Danger.
    Last 3 against Melbourne: 155, 75 (74?), and 120.

One bad score, one typical score, one amazing score…

Johnno · 08/04/2017 at 11:37

Selwood, Danger or Fyfe for C?

    redgumwon · 08/04/2017 at 12:44

Put the VC on either Danger or Selwood and captain on Fyfe. If Selwood or Danger go large use the loophole to get their score

      James · 08/04/2017 at 12:47

I already used loophole on Kennedy. I need to pick a definite captain now.

Who is more likely to get a game for North out of Mountford and Hibberd?

    Brendan · 10/04/2017 at 07:05

Mounford. Despite north losing their fringe backs esp mullet and Hansen played well.

I am in the 8000's overall and I really think Higgins (despite his Barry Crocker years of buggering us around) will be a top 6 forward. So it was time to take a risk and against my better judgement i have gone Sandi > Witts and Roughie > Higgins
In the words of Bruce Almighty for the Supercoach Gods

"Smite me oh mighty smiter"

    Keenbutclueless · 08/04/2017 at 12:54

    I feel a smite coming on……

      Top Gun · 08/04/2017 at 15:07

      HIggins 32 at half time…doooohhhhhh!

        hedski · 08/04/2017 at 15:20

        Roughie will kick 6….

          Top Gun · 08/04/2017 at 16:42

          10….Supercoach Gods are cruel

            Randomcliche2 · 08/04/2017 at 20:46

You could have bought gawn……and been in a world more hurt….I guess

              Top Gun · 08/04/2017 at 23:09

Or forgotten to put a non playing rookie on the field and put C on Fyfe after VC on Danger costing myself 50 points. Stupid mistake.

    Great trades

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 18:31

Dunno about Higgins man, I'll never pick him, looked lacklustre today…..very crab-like.

      Top Gun · 09/04/2017 at 22:21

Not so sure myself now but a week in Supercoach is a long time.

    Moustachio · 10/04/2017 at 08:40

Thank you for trolling the SC gods like this, boosting Roughy's score and murdering Higgins. Do not anger the SC Gods!!!

hedski · 08/04/2017 at 12:49

Majak a late out for norf, hopefully helps Preuss score more.

    Keenbutclueless · 08/04/2017 at 12:53

I had an awful feeling it was going to be Hibberd coming in. Not only would that play havoc with my loophole this well (unless he did a Preuss and tons up!) but the worlds most popular trade next week Hibberd to Newman was in disarray.

Tommo09 · 08/04/2017 at 12:55

Gawn C at the moment

Could change to Danger, Selwood or Fyfe
I saw somewhere that Danger has a bad record against Melbourne? Is this correct?

Who should I pick and why?

    Steven · 08/04/2017 at 13:14

    who is your vc?

    hedski · 08/04/2017 at 13:26

I'm toying with Gawn as well, can see Bernie hanging off Danger all day.
Cats let Preuss do his own thing last week.

      Tommo09 · 08/04/2017 at 17:40

      Not looking good for me

        hedski · 08/04/2017 at 18:02

I broke my own rules tommo and didn't look at sc before cats game and left Danger cap (its my young fellas 8th bday). The sc gods can be good sometimes too, they are usually pricks.

    Daniel · 08/04/2017 at 14:21

    I was hearing it too – a quick look shows 155 in 2016, 74 in 2015, and 120 in 2014.

      hedski · 08/04/2017 at 14:46

Yeah thanks Daniel just read your post above.
      Dangers in good form too.

Tommo09 · 08/04/2017 at 12:59

Swans fan anger today
Hopefully SuperCoach can make up for the terrible loss last night

The Drake · 08/04/2017 at 13:10

I'm considering trading Hampton into Marchbank. Worth burning a trade (and $76k) or should I hold?

    hedski · 08/04/2017 at 13:32

    I'd hold, your call.

Steven · 08/04/2017 at 13:13

VC nank the tank?

    hedski · 08/04/2017 at 13:27

    Not the worst move Steven.

Trent · 08/04/2017 at 13:34

If Houston is a late out, which is the rumour, do I want Eddy or Miles on my field instead?

    Darbo · 08/04/2017 at 16:28

I would go eddy and hope r1 was an anomaly. Have you heard any more about Houston? All I've seen is one tweet.

      hedski · 08/04/2017 at 18:04

Hope he's not out made the mistake of trading him in last night when I went Cameron to Preuss. At least that was a win.

THE SALTSHAKER · 08/04/2017 at 13:50

**** Just as a side story….wondering if anyone he can work out something for me.

The Tripple M wallies have come out and named their best forwards of all time.

1. Carey
2. Lockett
3. Franklin
4. Dunstall
5. Ablett

1. Carey
2. Dunstall
3. Franklin
4. Lockett
5. Ablett

1. Carey
2. Dunstall
3. Lockett
4. Kernahan
5. Franklin

Was talking about this in a discussion in our SC group on FB and I was thinking in SuperCoach terms.

A young rookie Paul Salmon 206cm so think Mason Cox rookie that can actually play, was a natural forward. Played 9 games in his first year, tlhen came out and Kicked 63 goals in 13 games the leading goal kicker at the time in the AFL.

Was wondering if anyone can work out from his stats roughly (bit hard with efficiency so maybe work at league avg or something) what his 2nd year buy/starting price would be, and what it would be by the end of round 13 when he was injured in the midfield in a collision that caused a knee injury was out for a year.

Just out of curiosity haha i cant work it out.

Another good one would be Abletts finals appearance in 1989 lol….anyway interesting article for a bit of fun maybe?

    DavidSA · 08/04/2017 at 14:54

Dunstall in my opinion was the best. Best lead up forward and one on one play on scenario genius work within 40 mtrs of goal, all angles. Beast kicking action and proof is in his total goals as medium sized forward

    Neverweaken · 08/04/2017 at 16:24

Lockett in my opinion. Played in an average saints side for years. Remember him kicking 10 or 12 in a losing side against essendon

    hedski · 08/04/2017 at 18:06

    YABBLETTTT….for highlights.
Can't go past Lockett tho, machine.

Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 16:08

redgumwon · 08/04/2017 at 16:17

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 16:23

Yeah , that and AFL website seem to running slow today, gotta keep refreshing or "Live" scores there!

      redgumwon · 08/04/2017 at 22:18

I think they need to lift their game. This has been happening far to often this year

Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 16:18

Any Goldy owners out there thinking about offloading him if Preuss stays in the side?

    Alex · 08/04/2017 at 16:36

Yeah it's a forced trade for all Goldy owners I'd say. Just won't be a top ruckman this season sharing the limelight with Preuss. Will have to find the cash to get to Gawn next week.

      INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 17:14

I am a Goldy owner for about the next 28 hours. I got Witts in last week as R3 as insurance in case Preuss became a regular. Goldy is playing back up to Preuss. Can't have a 588K bloke backing up a rookie. I'm going to trade him to Darcy Cameron who gives me the Ruck/Fwd link back & will play at some point. And I will have one hell of a bank account to upgrade spuds. Every year I cut someone down for a large cash grab, wasn't expecting it to be Goldy, but so be it. You can't keep him

        Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 17:20

Good call Pieman, I don't think Daw threatens Preuss's position either, I reckon Preuss has secured his position now for the season as Daw is still like an overly aggressive Giraffe.
Grab that cash and move on with fat stacks of cash with a bunch of exciting new rookies coming through.

          INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 17:53

Cheers Russ. Pruess has played like a boss the last 2 weeks. The commentators were even suggesting North should trade Goldy. Daw doesn't threaten Preuss at all. Preuss is actually a very good ruckman & he can kick goals. They have no reason not to persist with him & they should. Means Goldy won't be a top 2 ruck. Maybe not even top 5

            Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 18:06

I agree Pieman, Preuss is playing like he wants it bad, everyone get out of his way cause he has arrived! ๐Ÿ™‚

        hedski · 08/04/2017 at 18:08

Better off getting Sterndick Pie, if they're playing Sinclair in front of Cammo there's trouble. Serious P is better for looping too. Traded Cameron to Preuss yesterday.

Neverweaken · 08/04/2017 at 16:22

What happened to caddy? Is he injured. On 12 SC. thank god I ditched him this week

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 16:28

    He's out there…just mega-spudding it today.

Good call on the ditching haha

    Steven · 08/04/2017 at 16:38

He's a major spud. Why so many hype him up in the preseason is beyond me. They deserved to get burned for their terminal level of stupidity.

      Neverweaken · 08/04/2017 at 16:59

Lack of decent mid forwards made me pick him. Corrected out to WHE. Was out of WHE Buddy or Higgins. Kennedy wasn't great but at least I had him from the start and got his 174. And he will go very big every now and then.

        Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 17:08

JPK will post more big scores than small, just a bit of a quiet one from him today and the rain didn't help, hard to mark a bar of soap.
Kinda glad I passed on WHE, from what I've heard he would've only scored about 50 if he didn't get that goal in the last quarter.
At least you dumped Caddy before he drop 50 grand. ๐Ÿ™‚

          Ian · 09/04/2017 at 09:36

But he did get that goal ๐Ÿ™‚

Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 16:46

Think I need to get Dusty into the side…what a gun!

    Ian · 09/04/2017 at 09:40

I traded Hanners to Dusty and was regretting it until Dusty's 155! 43 points and heaps of dollars better off !

Jack · 08/04/2017 at 16:46

Going to pick up Goldy as a cheap 3rd ruck lol

Neverweaken · 08/04/2017 at 16:55

Need to get dusty in. And Cotchin seems better this year. And rance now he's slightly cheaper. Have butler and Nank. Good thing they have the r12 bye

    DefyingMadness · 08/04/2017 at 17:40

      Derek · 08/04/2017 at 17:47

even worse. When I checked, I'd put the C on Gawn

Not having much luck with my C choices

Was having a really good week until then. Oh well

        Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 17:53

Bummer Derek, is Gawn gonna get back on?…what kind of injury does he have?

        INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 17:54

Say it ain't so Derek! WOW

          Derek · 08/04/2017 at 19:38

Yeah. Stuffed up my VC & C.

Had VC on Danger and C on Gawn

        Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 18:04

At least Gawn straight into Grundy is a pretty safe call.

    hedski · 08/04/2017 at 18:12

I was gonna captain Gawn but broke my rules not checking before games (sons bday), left it on Danger.
Screw you sc gods I know you'll get me back ya pricks.

Top hawk · 08/04/2017 at 17:25

Hall out and the Bank in. Any regrets? No bloody way! I knew getting the Nank was vital and I am not dissapointed. Stoked!! Even if Hall tonnes up tomorrow, I could not care less. My side looks a lot more balanced now. Nankervis ended up with 106. Catchiiiinggg! $$$$

    INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 17:55

I'm glad you wen't with it mate. I knew it was a good trade

      Top hawk · 08/04/2017 at 18:05

Cheers pie. Despite his knowledge, perhaps Derek over researches things a bit too much I think. Research is important, but gut and instinct (and a bit of luck) are also crucial to do well in this caper. I just felt this trade, despite going against general trading rules just had to be done. Now lets hope Danger comes up with the captain goodies! Cheers mate.

Holy crap!! This why you need the Nank.! I have Stef Martin, but that is a massive development. How bad is his hammy?

      Derek · 08/04/2017 at 19:36

      Got Nank this week

JEL · 08/04/2017 at 17:50

Gawn down!!
That might present a few headaches if it's a LTI.

Hope for those that have him it's not serious.

Tim · 08/04/2017 at 17:53

He might have only scored 71, but I'm very happy that I traded out Taranto for WHE.

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 18:17

I still reckon they're both spuds, time will tell.

      Tim · 08/04/2017 at 19:32

Perhaps, but WHE will at least rise in cash pretty quickly.

Mike · 08/04/2017 at 17:56

    Top hawk · 08/04/2017 at 18:11

Bloody oath. I am counting my blessings having started with Martinlands. (Touch wood). Traded in Nankervis as well today. We will gladly take this dose of friendliness from the Super coach gods. As there will be plenty of doses of SC god fury throughout the season. Cheers

Hammys GAWN..

uDonkey · 08/04/2017 at 18:12

Oh my!! So glad started chip in Ruck with SandiWitts and Nank up forward. Also glad i did jump on Gawn before and after Round 1 when I knew he was a sole Ruck for the Dees.

Keeping an eye on S Martin, Mummy and Grundy in the next few weeks to upgrade Sandi or Witts.

        Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 18:44

INPieman · 08/04/2017 at 18:26

How Ironic. The most traded players this week could be Gawn & Goldy!!!!! It would suck if you had both

    BockChoy · 09/04/2017 at 10:54

It did suck having the captains tag on Gawn!

      Mich · 09/04/2017 at 11:07

Cats know they need a huge last qtr so me thinks danger can manage a 35-40 pt qtr.
    We can only hope anyway

He seems to be delivering the goods now Dave!….go Dangermouse = GUN!

hannon needs to be traded I think

Top hawk · 08/04/2017 at 18:42

What's happening with Hannan? Glad I do not have him. 7 SC at 3 quarter time. What an absolute flog!

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 19:00

Not much happening, he's had 6 disposals for the game, I think he was a classic case of adrenaline, and fool's gold after his 96 a few weeks ago.
I think he has been overawed by the whole 'big show' situation.

      Derek · 08/04/2017 at 19:28

      Looked way off the pace

musicissport · 08/04/2017 at 18:44

What to do with Prestia? Spudded up today and 3 rounds in not delivering as an ultra premo breakout like I hoped. Should I rage trade next week down to a maybe Oliver and bank some $$$ or keep for season M8?

    DavidSA · 08/04/2017 at 18:47

That's just the thing mate Prestia was never a ultra premo but try to hold onto him till the bye rounds when you star building cash by painting the fence chop him on his bye round if you must

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 18:55

Without seeing your team, hopefully you've got enough cash to go from Prestia to Dusty….get Dusty, or Tom Mitchell, or Heppell, or Watson or maybe Oliver, but Oliver's not really cracking the bigtime today.

    hedski · 08/04/2017 at 19:19

Bye bye Pickett if it comes down to it. Hopefully he tons up tomor.

      neil demons delight · 08/04/2017 at 22:51

tarantos in front of him surely hedski

        hedski · 09/04/2017 at 08:04

Yep Neil, pocket at least $100k for a new rook (berry?) And bang.

          Swans2012 · 09/04/2017 at 08:53

Agreed, I'm definitely happy with this weeks Taranto removal to marchbank, at least until march throws out a 37…

Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 19:09

Cats will get the win, even though they're not the Cats of old, they're still dangerous….possibly even making the finals this year, go Dangermouse!

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 19:12

The thing I like about danger is, he's just a tough mother fornicator, if he gets injured or a real hard knock during a game, he always seems to get back on, which says, he's a hard glute Mamma fornicator!

      Top hawk · 08/04/2017 at 19:32

Danger as captain last 3 weeks? No worries. Guy is a legend.

        Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 19:39

As reliable as Gazza once was…if you don't have him, you're suffering right now.

Kev · 08/04/2017 at 19:37

The GoldyGawn combo has gone from Lobster and Champagne to boiled spuds and cordial. It is kinda funny if your league is full of teams with 600k rucks and non players on the bench. My team went against all the 'rules' and started with 4 budget rucks all of whom have scored more points than Todd and Max and are making buckets of cash. Breaking the rules has always been more profitable than abiding by them

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 19:47

Yeah Kev you said it, cheap Rucks was the way to go this year, so far, I did too, and am thankful for that, could just have easily gone the other way…like many did.
Those who started with Big Ruck dosh need to re-evaluate now and get the cheaper blokes in while they're still affordable…or go Grundy and a Cheap Ruck, to try and bounce back from the ruck carnage.
Preuss has screwed Goldie's scoring potential, Gawn's injured, Grundy looks the best big money option, but why wouldn't ya get The Nank in?…or the Witts or the Preuss? Save a da money, and still get a da points lol

    Derek · 08/04/2017 at 20:59

Absolutely at the top of your game Kev. Well done

    hedski · 09/04/2017 at 08:08

    Gawndiballs Preuss and Nank fwd.

Can do some damage with Maxy s cash if he's out now.

Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 19:53

What the effing F?….Freo 25 to Bulldogs 0?…lol Maybe I'm watching the wrong game?

DefyingMadness · 08/04/2017 at 20:14

McCarthy **** you…

    Top hawk · 08/04/2017 at 20:48

You traded him out? Sh it happens

      Billioux · 08/04/2017 at 21:32

I did. and he will stop. 65 max IMO

Iamme · 08/04/2017 at 20:29

I took a gamble and went Tich over Danger for the captaincy this round, as Danger doesn't have a great record against the Dees…..Might burn me this week.

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 20:37

Could still work out for ya, but Dangermouse is the new Gazza!

Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 20:35

I don't reckon Andy Otten will lose his spot this year, just saying, it's a gut feeling and how he's already gone this year, he's named as a back, but has also rucked and kicked goals in the fwd line…I could be wrong but experience is always more valuable then potential. He's already proved that he can play across all lines…so why wouldn't the coach keep him in there?

    Top hawk · 08/04/2017 at 20:53

Otten. 56 SC points at half time. If you don't mind!! Started with the bloke and so glad I did. He deserves his success. He ain't going to get dropped anytime soon at Adelaide. An onfield cash cow rookie. Love it. Cheers Russ!

    Derek · 08/04/2017 at 20:57

I thought he would be 50/50 for next week unless he played well tonight…… I think he has done enough. Would have been nice to have him playing instead of Stewart. Oh well

      Derek · 08/04/2017 at 22:25

McGovern will miss games. Otten safe

Jack · 08/04/2017 at 20:51

That feeling when you have Hampton and Otten on the field

    Top hawk · 08/04/2017 at 21:05

Its a great feeling. Both on field. Happy days

      Don't Blush Baby · 08/04/2017 at 21:17

    Kev · 08/04/2017 at 21:48

      Westy · 09/04/2017 at 07:58

      You and me both, Kev.

Redd · 08/04/2017 at 21:05

Any one notice there scores getting adjusted after they were finalised?

    Youngy · 08/04/2017 at 21:36

Ye I saw it happen with Nank last week, I think

      Richard · 08/04/2017 at 23:28

Yeah, saw that. Danger in green at 141 then all of a sudden 30mins later 138. SC scoring a bit on the nose to start this season

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 23:35

They have to re- watch the entire game before scores can be finalized.

    BockChoy · 09/04/2017 at 11:09

This is not unusual – it seems they post a provisional score and then update after some revision. I've noticed this happening for a number of years.

Tem · 08/04/2017 at 21:19

Take dangers 141 or have faith in Tom Mitchell to go big against the Suns? And what happened to gain, wasn't home, how many weeks are we looking at?

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 21:21

Take 141?….ummm yeah, why wouldn't you?…..And "Gain" did his hamstring…don't know how many weeks yet, wait for the medical report.

    Danners · 08/04/2017 at 22:36

There were people debating over whether to take scores of 125, surely you'd have to take that

    Benschke · 08/04/2017 at 22:50

Don't know why tossers think they're funny by continually typing this crap. It's actually not funny anymore…..

      Tem · 09/04/2017 at 00:50

I'm being legit serious. Tom Mitchell is getting 35+ disposals in a thumping to Essen Don and against a premiership contender in a del aide. And now he is playing gold coast who are so shit he could get 150 easily. However I will just play it safe, but don't think I have any loopholes now. Rip.

    Rocky · 09/04/2017 at 05:58

Roll the dice do Mitchell as Captain only time will tell, personally I think you have rocks in your head to give up 141 x 2. But as I said time will tell.

Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 21:33

Tim · 08/04/2017 at 21:48

The Champion Data boys doing the Freo v Dogs game must have put the C on Bont this week.

    Kev · 08/04/2017 at 21:57

He gets points for running through the banner and interchange and the umpires love him just as much as CD do. I don't think that he'll ever be a Danger/Fyffe/Gaz type game winner on his own, without his supporting crew he'd be pretty close to a spud

Kev · 08/04/2017 at 21:53

Pepper looks to be giving a classic supercoach lesson.
1A. Many rookies burnout quickly when the adrenaline rush of debut subsides

Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 22:00

What's up with R.Gray?…hahah smashes it last week, spuds it the week before and spuds it again tonight!…glad i don't have the yoyo boy

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 22:01

And Powell Pooper, has pooped it up tonight!

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 22:28

Actually, 92 isn't exactly spudding it up.

    Danners · 08/04/2017 at 22:35

Playing a lot around the Half forward area, probably explains Wines doing well the past few weeks

      Crowmagnon · 08/04/2017 at 22:41

They mentioned gray having a groin injury.

    leedy · 08/04/2017 at 23:21

Freo were absolutely deplorable last week. Gray is a jet but that game was no indicator of form against solid opposition.

Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 22:04

Bulldogs better move their asses or they'll get done by a vastly inferior side, big ole brain fart on their behalf, need to re-evaluate where they're at.

DefyingMadness · 08/04/2017 at 22:05

What a game, shows how the scores can change when bulldogs get penalized for their constant throwing of the ball

Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 22:25

Hey Jock, JR Brumby, looks like you're gonna do allright this week mate, except for Powell Pooper ๐Ÿ™‚

Billioux · 08/04/2017 at 22:32

The Bont 130.. give me a spell! Watched the whole game and yes I understand factors such as total allocation of points, Kicks under 43.4m to a contest,Pressure acts, seasonally adjusted quarterly veal prices, gerrymanders and such..Good luck if you have him and he is a gun but no way he should have that score tonight.

    leedy · 08/04/2017 at 23:17

Agreed, the vagaries of Supercoach. I have him but there were many others that scored less that had far more impact on the game.

    Youngy · 09/04/2017 at 09:06

Supercoach players do not get scored on Impact, they get scored on stats

      Jai · 09/04/2017 at 09:22

I would challenge that. Im a long term player and i have noticed a discernible trend towards subjective scoring over objective stats based scores since the start of 2015.

        Youngy · 09/04/2017 at 11:55

Rich vs WCE, Rioli scored 60 sc points but his impact on the game was top tier. If SC scores went by impact he would have scored 100+

    Kim · 09/04/2017 at 09:30

The Bont is an absolute jet, heaps on contested possessions and he hits targets with his non preferred let alone his preferred foot. He is a younger version of Pendlebury for sure. If you didn't pick him sucks for you, knew he was going to tear the comp apart this year, was on 5 sc at 1/4 time so got 125 in only 3/4. Absolute gun nothing else needs to be said.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 09/04/2017 at 10:51

3rd qtr was his big qtr.
Took the game by the scruff, setup 3 got the doggies rolling as well as kicking one himself.
He imposed himself on the game got rewarded.
      Same as hunter first qtr.

    John James · 09/04/2017 at 15:05

Just do what I did,I traded Bont in this week,I was so sick of seeing his scores,I decided I might as well enjoy them.

Kyle · 08/04/2017 at 22:33

Really hoping pickett gets dropped so i can field him and take parfitts score as emergency haha

Kyle · 08/04/2017 at 22:35

Also wayching dogs vs freo game heard one of the reporters say: gawn should be 4 weeks acording to goodwin.

I can see a lot going goldy and gawn down to nank or grundy this week

    Derek · 08/04/2017 at 23:02

    Mummy was massive today

      Kyle · 08/04/2017 at 23:57

He certainly was mate but imo nank and grundy are both safer options for replacing one(or both) of these giants of the game. My worry with mummy is inconsistancy and my gut says grundy will be top 2-3 this year. Whilst i doubt that nank will keep up this rate of scoring for the whole year i think he will still average around the same as mummy at about the 90 mark and atm is much cheaper and has DPP.

    neil demons delight · 09/04/2017 at 01:04

pending on how long gawns out thinking of swap to pendles. set up Gawn/sandy/witts and nank forward but less than 4 weeks witts becomes gawn gawn bench

      hedski · 09/04/2017 at 08:16

I like that Neil. Preuss on, Pendles in. Better with Bont tho they love the guy.

How does bont keep scoring so high from average games? He had

    Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 23:27

    24 Disposals- 13 contested, 5 marks- 3 contested, 3 clearances, 6 tackles, 4 inside 50's, 1 goal, 2 marks inside 50., 79% efficiency.
    Sounds about right to me.

      Billioux · 08/04/2017 at 23:50

Allow me to retort. Delve further Russ. You are not seeing the real picture. By a long way. I could give like for like however whilst u quote numbers u do not understand them. Good luck.

        Russ in W.A · 08/04/2017 at 23:55

Ok Billioux, retort away, don't really care though cause I chose him and he's performing for me . Any Inside Supercoach conspiracy theories or favoritism suspicions you may have, you can happily keep them to yourself, I'm not really interested.

          Billioux · 09/04/2017 at 00:22

Oh Russ, oh dear. Well done on having the Bont hope you skippered him. It is an insight t to see where u choose to respond and where u dont. Have a wonderful SC season and just a tip if u not interested then dont respond.. I have played SC , not as long as our leader, however for the last 4 years always inside the top 1000. So I hope i offer something to the comm with my limited contribution to this forum. The scoring is wat it is. Nic Nat who i have had can jump up and down and score and so on and on. Please do not chastise me for sharing my thoughts. I believe that is the concept here.

            Randomcliche2 · 09/04/2017 at 00:56

You are correct on the chastising concept. None of the first 4 responses reflected particularly well on those that wrote them to varying degrees. I've been guilty too. Moving on.

I agree there are some players that are SC friendly for impact on some matches. The Bont's score today was that for me.

What I'd like to see is someone regress a decent pool of SC scores against known stats to reverse out a historical unknown SC variable…I'm sure there are some suggestions out there for what variable could be called….perhaps the Treloar's Telltale. Then we could have a discussion around game impact. Anyone with access to eviews or another decent stats program able to do this for the community?

              Kim · 09/04/2017 at 09:37

Treloar doesn't actually use his 30+ disposals very well unlike Pendleton and Bont that's why he is struggling to score over 110 simply as that he isn't impacting the game as much and his scores reflect this. I have treloar and Bont by the way.

                Randomcliche2 · 09/04/2017 at 12:14

Okay, so let's call it Bont's Balloon then. Have you got eviews by the way?

                Randomcliche2 · 09/04/2017 at 13:30

Oh, I'm not I'm not sold on Tealoar's Bont's Balloon being significantly negative, that name suggestion was a little tongue in cheek in that it might actually show up his poor DE. Bont, or even Dahl for that matter, who both outscored fyfe, did not impact the game like Fyfe. Note, I hold both Dahl and Fyfe, but not Mr Balloon.

            Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 13:23

Oh Billioux, oh deary me, well done on having insights into where I respond, hope that's fun for you. When someone I don't know from a bar of Soap, and who doesn't know me tells me, I don't understand the numbers or the real picture, of course I'll respond. You don't know me or what I understand and your passive aggressive attitude about it is what got my goat.
Then of course, you play the victim saying I'm "chastising" you ?..please, give me a break.
You said it yourself "The scoring is what it is", so if that's what you really think, don't contradict yourself, and then attack other people who have a differing opinion as you did with me.
Hope you also have a wonderful season and just a tip, if you don't know someone then maybe don't tell them what they do or don't know or understand.
            Good luck!

    Johnny · 08/04/2017 at 23:42

    Plus 2 goal assists

    John James · 09/04/2017 at 14:58

I decided this week if you can't beat them join them,so traded in Bont,I will also be trading out Treloar this week to another SC friendly player,so I don't have to keep gritting my teeth about his scores.

Michael · 08/04/2017 at 23:24

I'm gonna go early, Nank will be a top 6 forward 100%

What do we reckon is a part score this week guys?

    Randomcliche2 · 09/04/2017 at 01:07

I think there will be some gaps. Those with Gawn + goldy, those with one, trailing everyone bloody else. I'm in the Gawn camp (also started Roo, Armitage and Smith….give me a break sc gods) and heading for 2100 unless my 4 Hawks go large. I think par will be the same as the last too rounds.

Steeeve · 09/04/2017 at 09:00

If Preuss keeps this up I might trade Goldy for Strnadica. Play Preuss and Sand (Nank forward) and use the Goldy coin for a fallen premo elsewhere the following week aka Hanners

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 09:23

Pruess is playing number 1 Ruck. Goldy playing more forward. Can't keep Goldy with that scenario. Unless Preuss gets dropped which is extremely unlikely Goldy has to go. But with a problem can come opportunity. A lot of money can be banked to pick off some fallen premos in the coming weeks. I'm thinking Goldy to Darcy Cameron who is likely to play at some point

      Derek · 09/04/2017 at 09:53

I brought in Nank this week, already have Cameron at R3.

Option is Gawn to Grundy or Mummy

Or swing Nank into ruck and get another premium on another line.

Has to be keeper to keeper

        neil demons delight · 09/04/2017 at 11:37

Same problem Derek another option is to put Gawn on the pine but I am thinking Gawn to either a dear Pendles or get Hanners cheap after next week around 500 Witts Sandy and Nank Have all made Gawn a luxury

      Steeeve · 09/04/2017 at 10:50

Eat part is Goldy won't drop in price this week due to missing round two!

    Top hawk · 09/04/2017 at 09:27

That is an interesting manoeuvre. The way Pruess is playing, it could work for you. You could then assess when the price of potential fallen premos level out and then BANG! Hanners, or a Patrick Cripps could be juicy targets! You could grab Rory Sloane this week if you use both trades. Sloane had a spud round 1, and then 2 monster scores in the next two rounds. His price could still be within reach. Cheers

      INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 10:08

Probably missed Sloane's best score of the season. Probably better to look for some value

    Derek · 09/04/2017 at 09:57

Waste of trade. Swing Nank to ruck

      Steeeve · 09/04/2017 at 10:51

And keep Goldy? I'm not following you

    Randomcliche2 · 09/04/2017 at 11:57

Rounds 4, 7 and 13 you will be able to check out pruess's score and swing nank in if he spuds it up!

The Ranger · 09/04/2017 at 09:16

Trying hard to find a positive outcome from Gawn going down ….
Not bloody ideal when one of next weeks trades has to be spent on Newman.
Might have to go all the way down to Preuss and with the money saved, upgrade two other players the following week.
Us non-Nank owners are now officially buggered!

    Boltons Blues · 09/04/2017 at 09:23

My only positive is i didnt start Gawn, trusted the Naniklands combo and its been good for 3 weeks now, hopefully Witts puts in a good score today and then all 3 rucks have done me well this year.

    Kev · 09/04/2017 at 09:28

Premo for premo, Ranger. Gawn will still be around the 600k mark. Grundy or even Mumford are better options. You've missed the boat on Preuss now and you'll only need to upgrade him again later

    Top hawk · 09/04/2017 at 09:38

Watch Stefan Martin today. He is thriving in the lone wolf ruck role. If he tonnes up again today, consider straight switch for Gawn. Martin will be $520-530K. Pick up $100K and move forward. Got to eliminate Gawn problem ASAP. I traded in the Nank yesterday. Boy am I happy to have him as cover after yesterday. I have Martinlands as my ruck combo. Hope it helps. Cheers

I'm leaning towards the Martin solution, todays performance and my greed pending. Gawn to witts then witts back to Gawn Pre Gold Coast bye also possible but a lot of trades to burn on one position…..

    BockChoy · 09/04/2017 at 11:14

I'll park Max on the bench and move the Nank up from the forward line.

      neil demons delight · 09/04/2017 at 11:49

thinking the same Witts R 1 Gawn R3

    hedski · 09/04/2017 at 11:37

Yeah got Preuss in yesterday at r3 for Cameron so might sit tight on Max til we know how long he's out.

      Dutch · 09/04/2017 at 12:01

Same situation Hedski, although wary of initial reports of 4 weeks – and wouldn't surprise if he'll share the ruck duties for a week or two after coming back – that may be too many lost points. Considering moving Nank from F4 to Ruck for cover and getting a Premo fwd or mid. What do you consider the break-even number of weeks?

      The Ranger · 09/04/2017 at 12:34

I'd sit tight if I had Preuss mate. Unfortunately I still have Cameron on the pine.
I'll probably end up going the safe, tried and tested, premo to premo route but having had a pretty ordinary start to the season I might just take a punt and try and do something different.

He-Man · 09/04/2017 at 09:41

Matt Crouch?!! Sigh, what do we do with him?

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 10:20

Unless you have a big bank to move him up to an Uber premo I think you need to back him in & pray

      Don't Blush Baby · 09/04/2017 at 10:40

His raw numbers are good, but 8 clangers and giving away 3 free kicks hurt

    Dildor · 09/04/2017 at 11:05

Was planning on trading him out for ollie wines but Gawn has taken a big steamer on my planned trades.

TBone · 09/04/2017 at 09:44

Did not end up trading hibberd to otten, so missing out on that profit as I feared for his job security. But straight swap hibberd for newman this week. Is there any other rookies in midfield or forward to have a look at? Looking to move on pickett, florent or bowes if he scores low again, whenever possible. Thanks guys!

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 10:14

Have a look at Jarrod Berry for the Lions today. 139K Mid/Def. He's debuting. Highly rated & named in the guts. Also Robbie Fox for the Swans will be on the buddle next week with scores of 60 & 78. He's 102K

      TBone · 09/04/2017 at 11:36

cheers, ill keep an eye on them! i know i went against the grain not picking up otten or houston, but ive only made one trade so far which was bringing in Nank to the forward line so im feeling okay.

        Derek · 09/04/2017 at 11:47

I'm the same. Calculated risk. Otten did play well and should keep his place with McGovern injured . Oh well

          TBone · 09/04/2017 at 12:29

exactly. If im not 100% sure about a trade, i wont do it. Newman looks better to me anyways. But will be looking for a forward rookie to trade eddy and pickett too as my priority now. Unless they keep getting picked

Derek · 09/04/2017 at 09:47

Didn't see the GWS game.

Saw Mummy scored 137.

How did he play and is he a good trade for Gawn?

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 10:06

Looked very good. Spent most of the day battling Preuss & he got the better of him

      Derek · 09/04/2017 at 11:44

      Did he play Lone Wolf?

    FCAbel · 09/04/2017 at 10:29

    Had 10+ clearances

    Kev · 09/04/2017 at 11:48

Only a couple of years ago he was the clear number 1 SC ruck monster but then he started to break with frustrating regularity. If he plays with confidence he's the best choice out there, unless he breaks again

AuroraBorealis?! · 09/04/2017 at 09:58

Is gawns knee looking like a long term injury? I missed the games today

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 10:05

4 weeks they are saying. Have to get rid of him

    Top hawk · 09/04/2017 at 10:06

It is a hamstring problem. The experts are saying he will be out for around 4 weeks. TRADE

    AuroraBorealis?! · 09/04/2017 at 10:07

Yeah, cheers guys, will have to trade him

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 10:19

It was thought to be a knee when he came off. But later revealed to be a standard Hammy & 4 weeks on the sidelines. You wouldn't expect him to come out & belt 150's when he gets back. Has to go

      Derek · 09/04/2017 at 11:43

He had back problems last week.

      Back and hammy problems related

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 09/04/2017 at 10:54

My plan was to bring in Witts.
Make some money off him and trade before his bye.
Now with gawn out and a 28 in his average for 2 weeks when he comes back that could work out perfectly by Rd 9

      Randomcliche2 · 09/04/2017 at 12:01

Might even hold Witts during the buy rounds (pun intended) to allow 2 playing rucks each week…thoughts?

Swans2012 · 09/04/2017 at 10:48

Is it wrong that a small part of me is happy that Gawn is injured and I've got an excuse to trade trade trade?

    neil demons delight · 09/04/2017 at 12:05

if you have nank or witts agree could be a blessing Hanners in 2 weeks or pendles super prem wont drop much

    Randomcliche2 · 09/04/2017 at 12:06

Yes, something is wrong….relish the successes of your picks Danger Nank et al.

    The Ranger · 09/04/2017 at 12:46

Is it wrong that a small part of me wants Nank, Witts and Sandilands to all get injured in training this week?

Don't Blush Baby · 09/04/2017 at 10:48

P.Ryder will get a holiday , not sure if he has any carry over, probs 2 – 3 weeks ?

Dildor · 09/04/2017 at 10:59

What seems to be the consensus with Gawn? Straight swap to a martin, Grundy or the likes, or swing nankervis into the ruck and either bench him or use the cash to bolster forward line? Is it worth trading him straight down to a witts, although it hurts to think of losing a premo, not sure we can tell who the number 2 and 3 rucks will the this year yet.

    Derek · 09/04/2017 at 15:40

I'm thinking Gawn to NRoo, swing Nank to rucks.

      Dildor · 09/04/2017 at 15:56

      Chasing points though maybe?

TRIGGER HAPPY · 09/04/2017 at 11:02

These damn rookies r killing me!
Last week hannan on ground for 30, fixed that problem this week but Stewart on ground for 22!
Will bring in Newman next week but geez Louise give me a bit more rookie boys.
Need Roughie to smash the Suns today and take the game by the scruff. Time for a captains knock

    Top hawk · 09/04/2017 at 11:22

Gday Trigger. That Stewart score does hurt. I dodged his score (on bench) but like you I also got stung by Taranto and Peppa Pig. At least we avoided the Gawn/Goldy catastrophe. I am breathing down Shake and Bake's neck!! He is on 1857 with 4 to play and Tophawks at 1540 with 7 to play. Can I reel him in with Steele, the Doc, and Stef Martin the 3 extra players in my side yet to play?? Its going to be an epic finish. Cheers

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 09/04/2017 at 11:36

Kev might have nailed a winning move Friday.
Went early on Newman and brought him in 5 mins before the game looped him and got his score with Stewart on the bench. This could be the difference.
Should close the gap as he had had a couple of players play already but need a captain knock from Rough.
Titch tearing sun's a new one would be greatly appreciated if you are listening almighty SC gods.

      Shake n bake · 09/04/2017 at 11:58

Going to be super close you have to avg 106 per player which is very doable need 1 of those players to get only about 80! Will be at work all day but how ever it falls good luck…not really!!

      neil demons delight · 09/04/2017 at 12:13

interesting finish there most games will be close ahead of JOCK by 300 with McGRATH but Jock has 3 good prems

musicissport · 09/04/2017 at 11:02

What to do with Prestia?

    BockChoy · 09/04/2017 at 11:15

Well, ideally avoid in the first place! Then again, I've got Caddy who was solid the first 2 weeks but spudded it yesterday.

    Youngy · 09/04/2017 at 11:56

You probably need to hold to alteast byes and just hope he turns it around

Youngy · 09/04/2017 at 11:57

Wish I had Preuss…

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 14:08

Same. He looks like a beast

      Youngy · 09/04/2017 at 14:16

It's annoying cause, If I bring him in next week I give all the other coaches who started with him or brought him in last week an advantage over me.

So it doesnt look like Mr Preuss will be in my time.

Will not be going Gawn —> Preuss

      Will go Keeper to Keeper

        INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 14:28

Preuss will still have a negative break even & heaps of cash to be made. If you have other problems & need a bank to fix you could do worse. It's worth a thought

          Youngy · 09/04/2017 at 15:39

          Ye I am considering it

Steeeve · 09/04/2017 at 12:08

Plenty would have chosen to go Roughead to WHE this week, instead of Taranto to WHE. Myself included. If Roughy goes large that will be a huge regret.

    TBone · 09/04/2017 at 12:36

went roughy to nank this week, and might hurt if he goes large. But ultimately, wanted nank badly and peace of mind for the ruck cover. WHE down from Roughy is a risk that i would not have made though

Ben · 09/04/2017 at 12:40

Fellas what's a par score this week I'm on track for about 2350 maybe 2400 if players deliver

    Imgonnalose · 09/04/2017 at 12:47

    I'd say that's a bloody good score – I'd say 2200-2300 may be par but I don't know

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 14:12

Scores will be all over the place given Gawn/Goldy & rookie good & turds. I think 2200 will be solid & 2300 a good score. But it's hard to say till later

      Derek · 09/04/2017 at 15:37

Yep. There will be those with and those without Gawn & Goldy….. and then there will be those who had C on Gawn…….

      …….. and Stewart on field.

        Tibor · 09/04/2017 at 16:33

And those who held on to nick Riewoldt, what a star

        Moustachio · 10/04/2017 at 09:07

Did you not start Danger?? Odd choice to C the Gawny

Liam · 09/04/2017 at 12:47

I don't have nank and have Gawn. Thinking I should go Gawn to nank and then can swing him forward later via dpp trades.

I have preuss on the bench and want to get on field if I can what should I do ?

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 14:14

If Nank continues to play as a Lone Wolf Ruck he will be a top 6 Fwd everyday of the week. If your getting Nank it's now or never. He will be 550k soon. I'm ok with Gawn to Nank

      Tibor · 09/04/2017 at 16:36

Yeah good call press's going good to, scores won't suffer much and you'll make really handy cash

    Danners · 09/04/2017 at 20:32

That exact trade or maybe Witts. Has looked impressive as well

Kev · 09/04/2017 at 14:07

I wish StNick new how to count. If he understood that there is a difference between one week and six weeks he wouldn't have said that he'd be out for six weeks and I wouldn't have traded him. He also believes that he has an iq of 120 I suppose we should divide that by 6 as well

    Youngy · 09/04/2017 at 14:18

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 14:31

Lol who would have thought he would be back this week. And on 80 at HT!!

Jimmy · 09/04/2017 at 14:17

I know there's been a few posts about Gawn but my situation is probably a little more optimistic than some others.
I have Gawn, Sandi and Preuss, and Nank up fwd.
I think the best option for me and others in this position is field preuss and sandi, strengthen your side with the new crop of rookies coming through, then the following week trade Gawn (IF he is going to miss 4+ weeks) out and bring in a fallen promo such as hanners?
Heavy on trades but if you have faith in those you pick, you should be set until you're ready to upgrade to full premos

    Kyle · 09/04/2017 at 14:33

Yeah people like you with witts and nank and preuss could definately wait a week for trading gawn. If i had that structure i would hold him a week. Absolute luxury haha.

I dont have preuss nank or witts and have no choice but to trade gawn out

    Derek · 09/04/2017 at 15:35

I think NRoo has said Pick Me today!

INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 14:25

Those that held NRoo will be holding a large rod today. On 80 at HT. What were the 55% thinking that didn't start with Beams. He's punishing non owners

    TBone · 09/04/2017 at 14:42

Beams and wines are delivering dividends for me starting the year with them! Stoked

      INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 15:03

Nice pick with Wines. He's scoring like a beast. See if he can keep it up

        TBone · 09/04/2017 at 15:27

        lets hope so!

Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 15:37

Brisbane rookies have been a bit underwhelming today, namely McCluggage and Berry, Barrett's looking ok, only first game though, can't be too harsh on em. Have to see what they can come up with next week.

    Booma · 09/04/2017 at 15:41

Think it wil be the Swans rookies that we all jump on.

Youngy · 09/04/2017 at 15:40

Just goes to show that you can't be trigger happy

Crushed Berry · 09/04/2017 at 15:49

Congrats to all the geniuses who went early on Berry and played him on their fields. That's why we wait until they're bubble boys. Yet another over-hyped rookie crashes and burns lol!

    Captain Risky · 09/04/2017 at 17:09

    Balic in the same boat.

Still I prefer them to start slow and improve, rather than be 1st game stars and then do nothing ( Hannan!) . Pretty happy to have Parfitt, Hampton, Otten and Preuss this week, and they were all pretty useless 1st up.

Berry and Balic will improve, classy kids, but plenty of other options coming…Wouldn't be starting any rookie onfield though without having a look at their scoring.

    Kev · 09/04/2017 at 17:23

I agree Crusher it's lookin like a lot the pre season reviews from one or two contributors were more like marketing campaigns of hope from club supporters. Certainly not a lot of genuinely SC relevant accurate info.

Neverweaken · 09/04/2017 at 15:49

Having traded Roo out expecting him gone for 3+ weeks, do I trade him back in?

    Geoff · 09/04/2017 at 15:54

With that huge knee brace on I wouldn't touch him. Could collapse in a miserable heap at any point and you will have wasted 3 trades on the bastard. That 160 is now gone so don't get caught chasing points or the fantasy gods will likely punish.

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 15:57

I reckon that'd be worth it for sure, Fwd who plays 90 % midfield and such a champ, I mean wow!, we all need to try and get him in.
Can you afford him now though?

    JEL · 09/04/2017 at 21:39

Yes, but I'll be waiting and get him in as part of my Premo upgrade leading into the byes.
You've missed today's points, and I'd want to make sure he is holding up ok before spending another trade on him.

    Moustachio · 10/04/2017 at 09:09

Check the opposition they were up against first…

Jim_bob321 · 09/04/2017 at 15:58

    Top hawk · 09/04/2017 at 16:48

Why not. You have to put Caddy in the paddock to graze and let him drop turds there. Bloody terrible.

Felix · 09/04/2017 at 16:24

New to sc, is franklin to Riewoldt a waste a trade just seeing that Roo looks in red hot form

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 16:30

I reckon so Felix, Buddy's a keeper, try to find another way to get Roo in.

    Tibor · 09/04/2017 at 16:42

Hold the budwar Felix he's a genuine premium. A little down this week but hang in. If you trade him out you can guarantee he'll put up a huge score, work towards your keepers then pick and stick

      Felix · 09/04/2017 at 16:51

Only one I could possibly trade Roo in for is Dahlhaus ???? Thoughts

        Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 17:00

Will go Hibberd to Newman and trade Gawn

Trade Gawn fo one of those guys. Perhaps consider Stefan Martin? Big tonne from him again today. 125 SC. The lone wolf monster is back. Hibbo to Newman a no brainer. Good luck.

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 16:51

Kev · 09/04/2017 at 16:45

Damn I wish somebody in the upper echelons of had have given even a cursory sideways glance to the inner north of melbourne during the pre season. The blues have now thrown up another rookie who can score 50+ in the first half! Tom Williamson? I thought he was that gay builder bloke that had a tv show at the turn of the century, nope turns out he's a talented teenage footballer.
Whilst we were all lamenting the loss of rookie factories like GWS and GCS there was a rookie factory under our noses right here in melbourne. Well done pre season writers here's a tip for next year don't just profile players from the teams that you support/barrack for.

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 16:53

Hey Kev, a lot of Rooks have a big one on their first outing though, eg Hannan, if he backs it up next week he'll be very popular.

      Kev · 09/04/2017 at 17:00

Petrevski Seton looking like 5th year player in his 3rd game and not even a whisper about him all pre season Russ

        Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 17:07

Yeah I see your point mate, I read early on he was a gun, but I guess with his price, and his 2 scores in the 50's first 2 weeks, a lot of people just overlooked him, looking dang good this week though! Williamson too.

          Northernsoul74 · 09/04/2017 at 17:13

Because he didn't play all pre-season due to injury. He was a top ten draft pick so you really shouldn't need Jock to tell you if he's any good or not.

            Kev · 09/04/2017 at 17:24

Yes but, being dismissive of a player is equally as relevant as being gungho.

      Kev · 09/04/2017 at 17:03

Talking up a player AFTER they've had a couple of good games isn't really insight Russ. The only mention of a blues player all preseason was the obvious Marchbank. Nuthin but negativity about Murphy, SPS, Plowman etc. Murphy FFS how'd they ignore him?

        Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 17:23

I wish I'd listened to my gut on Murphy this year instead of people's writings also, anyone who started with him has a huge advantage now, he's smashing it this year.

DavidSA · 09/04/2017 at 16:53

What do you get when u mix a bit of Beams, Murphy and Wine in a man bun?
Bloody huge start to the year for coaches with these 4 players

Let alone an actual keeper in the Nank as well

Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 17:13

O'Meara, 2 handballs in the first quarter….Uuuugh!

Northernsoul74 · 09/04/2017 at 17:56

Played SPP instead of SPS on field. Can't catch a trick with my rookie selections.

    Kev · 09/04/2017 at 18:43

Mate SPS was a top 10 draft selection even though he had injury cloud. He went at 6 due to an uncanny ability to read the play and operate in confined spaces without panic. Although he's a very good player SPP's game is more about brawn than brain and once the initial adrenaline was gone he became a spud. You shouldn't rely so much on this site for your team plan.

      Northernsoul74 · 09/04/2017 at 18:52

I don't rely on this site for my team plan, hence why I'm in the minority who actually went with SPS in the first place. Also why I've never once posted my team on here asking for advice.

        Kev · 09/04/2017 at 18:58

        Blah blah

        whatyasmokin · 09/04/2017 at 23:15

Go SPS, I didn't have him on field though of course and copped O'meara's score lol.

      whatyasmokin · 09/04/2017 at 23:14

      He's had a 78, 90 and now 51 in an intense showdown.

At only 19 years of age and 135K he is hardly a spud.

Holty · 09/04/2017 at 17:56

Well i was saying all week id bring in Murphy and decided last minute be strong and have faith in my team. He is certainly back to his elite premo form from years ago. Think its a bit late now to bring him in with his price rise. But great news im a Carlton supporter and YOU LITTLE BEAUTY.

    Go Blues!

hedski · 09/04/2017 at 18:05

Cameron to Preuss = Bang.
SPS to Houston = Bust.

    Top hawk · 09/04/2017 at 18:13

To beat Shake and Bake, I needed 105 from the Doc. The DOC on 107 BEFORE scaling. Nervy little 15 minute wait before we know our fate. What a bloody battle it has been. Holy Jesus. LOL

Kev · 09/04/2017 at 18:06

Wooh hoo Go Blues! That's one in a rowe for the first time in thirteen games, lookout doggies

Kyle · 09/04/2017 at 18:14

Gawn injury a lot worse than they thought . He could miss up to 2-3 months possibly needing surgery according to 7 news.

    Youngy · 09/04/2017 at 18:15

Didn't matter if he was injured for 3 week or a year he needs to go

      Kyle · 09/04/2017 at 18:19

For a lot, having nank up forward or witts on their bench they could save a trade and just move him into ruck and bench gawn for a few weeks. This is not an option anymore

    hedski · 09/04/2017 at 18:19

Been watching Witts today, may go from Gawn to him build a big warchest.

      Swans2012 · 09/04/2017 at 18:39

i think I'm on that train hed

      Kyle · 09/04/2017 at 18:41

That is an option but witts wont be a year long keeper. Better to go to someone like nank grundy or martin. Still get about 100-150k and save yourself a trade. Even mummy is looking the goods atm

Felix · 09/04/2017 at 18:19

Is Murphy a must have going into round 4??

    Kev · 09/04/2017 at 18:36

The ideal correction for Gaz or Treloar

      Kyle · 09/04/2017 at 18:39

      Gaz? Maybe. Treloar? No lol

      Boltons Blues · 09/04/2017 at 18:39

Trelor? He's been good, just handballs more then kicks

    Holty · 09/04/2017 at 18:39

Think almost too late now felix. Was going to trade ablett for smurph this week but decided to hold.

    Danners · 09/04/2017 at 20:30

No, you've missed the bus like a lot of us. Won't be pumping out 130s every game

    whatyasmokin · 09/04/2017 at 23:10

Not at all. 500K+ now. Forget it.

Youngy · 09/04/2017 at 18:22

Feeling pretty good about Swallow

    Kev · 09/04/2017 at 18:35

That's a bit too gay for posting before 9:00pm youngy

      Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 18:46

      Ahahha that's fkn funny

Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 18:26

Hawks looking pretty ordinary today but they had a great run while it lasted and it lasted a long time! I don't think it'll be too long before they're up there on the ladder again, 3 years maybe.

    Kyle · 09/04/2017 at 18:30

As a hawthorn supporter even i tipped GC. After a 100 point loss and a superstar like gaz having so much said about him this is the worst time to be playing the GC. It was almost a sure win. One of the reasons why i traded out roughy. Altho roughy having a decent game, but nothing huge like so many said he could

      Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 18:36

Roughy could still get a good score if he kicks a couple in the last…69 right now (approaching 3/4 time) ain't too bad, O'Meara's a bit of a worry too, might need to get rid of both.

    Captain Risky · 09/04/2017 at 19:48

Thanks for taking Vickery off us. We don't seem to be the same team without him. I'm sure he'll be a star for the Hawks.

      Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 20:01

Tyrone Shittery was always a spud, can't actually believe the hawks took him going fwd, from a club who usually recruit well, he is a mistake. Zac Dawson like.

      Kyle · 09/04/2017 at 23:31

Tigers are 3-0 sure but that wont last long. Havnt played any top 8 sides yet

Iamme · 09/04/2017 at 18:34

Jaeger Bomb bleeping 32!…. 20 mins into 3rd term….Murphy might be a keeper after all….what do we all think?

    whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 13:41

If you started with Murphy congrats, if not then don't chase.

Ben · 09/04/2017 at 18:45

Does omeara need to go?

    Top hawk · 09/04/2017 at 18:48

Its starting to look that way. His effort up to 3/4 time was insipid to say the least. Unless he shows a bit in the last, he is not going to make any meaningful cash any time soon. Cheers

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 19:04

Well he certainly isn't a top 50 mid ATM. Dog of a day. But he has 21 mates. Couldn't be happier about that. Needs to be moved on reasonably soon

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 19:35

Might let that one slide. Hawks were pathetic. Made his BE. Give him another week. Had 36 touches last week

    Kev · 09/04/2017 at 19:38

He must have Ben coz he crapped his pants onfield today

    Danners · 09/04/2017 at 20:34

Maybe prioritise players like Newman and other rookies first before wielding the axe on O'Meara. Like Pieman said, he did have 36 touches last week

    Swans2012 · 09/04/2017 at 20:44

Omeara likely to become part of week 2 of my "spending gawns cash spending spree

    whatyasmokin · 09/04/2017 at 23:10

    Nope, hold.

James · 09/04/2017 at 18:46

Week after week watching Murphy play i have not been convinced he could keep it up and he has proven me wrong. Despite his price increase i am seriously considering jumping on him and moving on O'meara, as the more i watch him the more i realise hes a spud! Am I being irrational and is this a stupid move or is it justified.

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 18:56

If you have the cash to go from JOM to Murphy, I'd do it.

All reports were JOM was ready to go, and he's been too disappointing for mine.

DavidSA · 09/04/2017 at 18:47

JOM to Newman
Bowes to a -633k uber premium

Sick of this crap
Chop the skirts

Touk tuk · 09/04/2017 at 18:49

JOM has to go

    DavidSA · 09/04/2017 at 18:57

Agree think it will be the most traded out player next to Gawn obviously
Glad I only have one problem though JOM to Newman and skirt boy Bowes to an ultra premium plz

    Only thing is to who?

Wines is a speculative option but he has gone up another level since season 2015.
Last year he could hardly crack the ton especially when port lose but that showdown peformance has proven he is a genuine premium mid.

633k to go shopping Wines would fit the bill but need to go searching for a few other options maybe

      Dildor · 09/04/2017 at 19:44

How are you going JOM to Newman? I'd like to do this too but don't know how

        Kev · 09/04/2017 at 19:56

        switch hibberd/Adams/Berry

Pman · 09/04/2017 at 18:55

Is O'Meara injured or just stinking it up? Thinking corrective trade to D Swallow next week as JOM has been very underwhelming in his first 3 games.

    Kev · 09/04/2017 at 18:57

100k more might get you a genuine keeper like murphy

      Pman · 09/04/2017 at 19:05

I used the $100K I had last week on updrading J Smith to WHE (via DPP) and don't have enough $$ to do that trade unfortunately so Swallow is probably next best option or is there any value in holding JOM for another week?

    Hubba · 09/04/2017 at 20:11

He hasn't played for 2 years .. was always going to be inconsistent for the first month … He will knock out 80s and 90s for here on Stay on him until he makes his 150ฤท by round 10ish then he's gone .

The G Train · 09/04/2017 at 18:57

O'Meara downgraded to swallow or upgraded to murphy?

    Pman · 09/04/2017 at 19:07

Definitely upgrade to Murphy if you can afford it.

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 19:14

Agree with Pman, get Murphy if you can.

      Hubba · 09/04/2017 at 20:09

How is Murphy all of a sudden an ultra premo?? What is the community opinion of all this Murphy business ?

        The G Train · 09/04/2017 at 20:15

I wasn't convinced but after watching him pump out a huge score in the wet I think he might be the real deal and back to his ultra premo form of a few years back

        whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 13:26

He's not, never was, never will be.

People were talking about Ditching Sloane round one. Talk of Ditching Hannebery last week.

Now people are chasing players that in their whole career have never been ultra premos because of 2-3 weeks scoring.

Happens every year don't follow the herd.

    Danners · 09/04/2017 at 20:28

Don't go chasing the bus with Murphy, Swallow should make some cash

    whatyasmokin · 09/04/2017 at 23:08

    Neither. You've missed Murphy.

Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 19:13

Big congrats to Ian from Bicsbest who won Coachkings this week by 9 points, big effort and he's in one of my Supercoach leagues too and top scored in that which is a double congrats ๐Ÿ™‚

Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 19:16

Witts 112 before final scaling, will anyone go Gawn to Witts this week and have a big ole warchest?…maybe use that to go from JOM to Murphy?

Tommo09 · 09/04/2017 at 19:22

Finished with about 1900
Shocking week

    Top hawk · 09/04/2017 at 19:46

Ouch. That hurts. I have been there. Best thing to do is take stock, put it behind you and look forward. Focus on cash generation! Trade hard getting the best rooks. Its only round 3 so there is time to make a comeback. Cheers Tommo.

    The Ranger · 09/04/2017 at 19:55

Ouch. Nasty one Tommo. Early days mate.

    Hubba · 09/04/2017 at 20:05

Thinking Gawn to Grundy/Martin/Nank/Witts and O'Meara/Hibberd/Smith to Newman

Tim · 09/04/2017 at 19:22

I am going to rage trade Gunston this week. Cost me my league match. Can go to Roo, but am a bit worried about his durability. Can also go anyone up to probably $550 in the middle. Any suggestions?

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 19:41

Marc murphy?…but can I suggest you wait until thursday until you make your final decision?….Gunston's probably a keeper really. Allow the rage to subside lol

      Tim · 09/04/2017 at 20:21

You're right Russ, I should definitely let the rage susbside, but I am incandescent with it at the moment. Yeah, was thinking Murphy, but concerned I might have missed the boat on him. Unless of course he can be a top 10 mid by the end of the year, but not sure about that despite his great start.

        Soothsayer · 10/04/2017 at 22:16

I traded Gunston out round one and used the cash upgrading to performing rookies. Felt bad after his 131 but glad I did it now.

    Danners · 09/04/2017 at 20:27

Patience is the key, look at Hannebery. Just Hawthorn's midfield got dominated

Youngy · 09/04/2017 at 19:32

Pman · 09/04/2017 at 19:34

So how was everyones scores? I thought I was looking good for close to 2300+ but a poor Sunday and an ever poorer O'Meara saw me get 2232 which I think is probably about par?

    Kev · 09/04/2017 at 19:39

I'm ranked lowly and scored over 2300 Pman so I reckon you might be in the lower 10% this week.

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 19:39

Not bad Pman, I got 2246 with a spudly O'Meara, Marchbank, Powell-Pooper, and Houston.

      Blaknight · 09/04/2017 at 19:55

2254 with the same for me.

        Hubba · 09/04/2017 at 20:00

2250… stewart the problem …. would've been happy with a solid 2310 if i had have played curtly. …. shoulda woulda coulda

    The G Train · 09/04/2017 at 20:07

Vinny · 09/04/2017 at 19:53

Got 2170 this week with avergae scores from Goldy, Tuohy, Houston, SPP and Marchbank. Was regretting the Hannerbery to sloane trade on Friday night but Sloane score more than made up for it. Thinking par should for 2250 for the community?

Concerns over my two rucks who i thought would have been set and forget.

What should i do with Goldy? His position seems to be more forward, especially with only the 10 hitouts this week.

Gawn will be a definite trade but to whom? Martin? Mummy? Grundy? Nank?

Would love some suggestions.

    DavidSA · 09/04/2017 at 20:03

    Gawn to Grundy or Martin

Nank got plenty of cash still to make but it's not about that with the Nank cause I think he is a keeper.
Problem is that so many have the bastard so I would go with my two options put up mate. Think both of them will be top 2 rucks come years end

      Tibor · 09/04/2017 at 20:43

Check when each team has their bye for example Collingwood has the bye the week after Melbourne. Timing might work well to get grundy then bring Gawn back when Collingwood gave bye but Melbourne bye has already passed. Will work differently for everyone but worth pre planning..

    Hubba · 09/04/2017 at 20:03

Martin and mummy will be set and forget …. Both pretty much play solo rucks…. hopefully you have some cash left over our cut your losses

Boltons Blues · 09/04/2017 at 19:56

Witts one the pine again is hurting my feelings cause I can't get him on the ground without making a change tommy structure

    INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 20:22

Bite the bullet BB. If it's one of Gawn or Goldy get rid of them. If not you have a cracking cow going moooooooo

      Boltons Blues · 09/04/2017 at 20:36

It's Nank and Sandi, originally he was bought to sit there and make some slow coin and to trade after his bye once he gets to peak fatness, now, he's looking a keeper
Only thing I can do is trade a forward player and bring in a Melbourne ruck to sit on the pine while Gawn is gawn for a couple of months (swing Nank forward of course)
Then trade JOM out and get me Murphy (funds pending)

      Team is as follows
Doc, Adams, Marchbank, Otten, Hampton Stewart (Hibbered, Smith)
Danger, Pendles, JPK, Trelor, Fyfe, Titch, JOM, SPP (Parafitt, Pickett, Barret)
      Nank, Sandi (Witts)
JJK, Dahl, Maccrae, Rough, WHE, Taranto (Butler, Eddy)

      Help me Pieman!

        TRIGGER HAPPY · 09/04/2017 at 20:57

Trade tarranto into ruck for whoever Melb bring in as a ruckman probably spencer,
Swing Nank into the fwd line and put spencer on the bench bringing witts onto the ground.
Or bring in Pruess puts witts on ground. Pruess will only be around $170k.

          Boltons Blues · 09/04/2017 at 21:24

Won't have enough funds for JOM -> Murphy

Blaknight · 09/04/2017 at 20:00

BrownlowBoy · 09/04/2017 at 20:06

Gary Ablett Jnr,

Your performance today was like the Gary of old. 36 touches, 4 tackles and 2 goals against a Hawthorn team in were expected to give the Suns a bath. You not only led the Suns to their first win against the Hawks, but an 86 point belting to the Hawks. Hopefully this performance shuts the critics up, and allows everyone to appreciate your football ability, and appreciate each of your future performances.

Well played Little Master, well played.

    Boltons Blues · 09/04/2017 at 20:08

    You know what they say
Form is temporary, class is permanent.
    Very well played little master

      INPieman · 09/04/2017 at 20:19

He still looks rusty. But he's always going to be a dead set gun. Clarko sent Langford for a close tag which slowed him down but he got through it & did pretty well. Let's hope the little master can get back to somewhere near his best. Because there is no one better to watch

        BrownlowBoy · 09/04/2017 at 20:35

How many 33 year olds get tagged? Not many, agree he looks a little rusty but it was a great performance.

    Smote · 10/04/2017 at 00:27

    Moustachio · 10/04/2017 at 17:00

He didn't lead anything, he only built a semi respectable score in the last half when the game was already won. Touk touk, swallow, Witts and Jmartin looked to be the leaders when it mattered.

Holty · 09/04/2017 at 20:11

2275 this week. Very happy after the slow start.

    Top hawk · 09/04/2017 at 20:33

Good score Holty. Ended up with 2249. Happy with that. Keeps my 3 round average sitting at 2230. Steady she goes as they say. Cheers

      Holty · 09/04/2017 at 22:19

Nice average hawk. I think this score may push my average just above 2200.

Keenbutclueless · 09/04/2017 at 20:23

I wonder how many people will tear their structures apart this week to get Swallow in? After seeing what happened with Hanners and Roughy this week – even Steele to a degree – as tempting as it will be to get that juicy price increase and extra points on field, I am sure more will think twice. I can see a few Gawn owners bringing Nank into the ruck to grab Newman and Swallow.

    redgumwon · 09/04/2017 at 20:28

I've been thinking of trying to hold Gawn and maybe try and bring in Witts to cover him short term?

      Steeeve · 10/04/2017 at 09:02

Can't mate Gawn is out for ages

    Danners · 09/04/2017 at 20:42

I would say they would be tearing their structures apart for Murphy/Wines/Dusty/Bont

    Pman · 09/04/2017 at 22:04

I think there is merit in trading a lacklustre JOM to Swallow, make $40k in the trade and Swallow looks like he'll be a more consistent scorer and will make more money and faster than JOM too.

Danny · 09/04/2017 at 20:24

Best promo midfielders to trade in currently

poloko48 · 09/04/2017 at 20:47

Only scored 2128 this week, stinkers included Stewart, JOM, Prestia, Simmo, Buddy, SPP, Marchbank. I'll excuse Blues players due to conditions but the others can go and get stuffed!

Thinking about using both trades this week:

OUT ZGuthrie IN Newman
OUT JOM IN Swallow

Will leave me with some $$$ (about $80K I think), 26 trades and the following team:

DEF: Adams, Marchbank, Heater, Simmo, Otten, Stewart (Newman, Hampton)
MID: Danger, Fyfe, JPK, Beams, Treloar, Prestia, SPP, DSwallow (Barrett, Pickett, Mountford)
RUC: SandiWitts (Preuss)
FWD: Nank, Buddy, Macrae, Dahl, Butler, Roughy (Hannan, Eddy)

nah leave jaegar bomb, he'll play every week and get better. get rid of prestia first

      poloko48 · 09/04/2017 at 22:11

Problem is I went Prestia as a keeper, M8 at worst, so I think I have to persevere (unless he's injured?)
JOM isn't going to make much coin atm, he was never going to be a keeper.
Swallow will result in more $$$ making than JOM by far, and in fact after today's performance may be a keeper at M7-8.
At worst he'll be a stepping stone to a premo.

        TBone · 09/04/2017 at 22:33

I have JOM too, and its defintely a possibility trading to swallow.. but its just 3 games into the year. I reckon give him another two weeks to impress you, and then reevaluate trading him or not. Just dont want you to waste a trade if swallow ends up getting injured or something. Are you a tigers fan? or just like prestia?

          poloko48 · 09/04/2017 at 23:13

Nah just thought he might be the one to go uber this year, change of club, right age and that.
I haven't been watching their games but is he just not getting the pill, or is and just not using it efficiently?
Has Dusty's dominance affected his output?

I know only 3 games in but thinking purely cash generation Swallow a must have.
I can't think he's gonna get injured, same thing could happen to JOM right?

            TBone · 09/04/2017 at 23:26

fair call, im still considering swallow for JOM too.. although i dont want to. Im not sure, hes a bit inconsistant and id rather get a consistant performer i guess

TRIGGER HAPPY · 09/04/2017 at 21:02

GH-S injuring his finger worked out well.
GH-S to Witts with $20k change, tick.

Traded out Caddy for WHE tick.
Running Sandiwitts with Nank forward tick.
Putting swallow on the bench for Pepper pig not so good.
Having Parfitt on the bench not so good
JOM for Murph next week I think

poloko48 · 09/04/2017 at 22:14

GAJ – 27 kicks / 9 h/balls / 3 marks / 4 tackles / 1 free for / 2.1
Miller – 7 kicks / 21 h/balls / 5 marks / 4 tackles / 1 free for / 2.0

Guess who scored more SC pts?

    chef · 09/04/2017 at 22:53

guess who was had 12 more tackles, more marks, and was more efficient.

      poloko48 · 09/04/2017 at 23:09

Ummm… same amount of tackles each, and Miller had 2 more marks.
I'm assuming kicks score better than handballs, so if it comes down to efficiency Miller must've been 100% and GAJ about 20%.

        poloko48 · 09/04/2017 at 23:09

…which I find very hard to believe.

    whatyasmokin · 09/04/2017 at 23:05

Guess how different Supercoach scoring is to Fantasy?

      poloko48 · 09/04/2017 at 23:08

Yeah I get that but aren't kicks worth more than handballs?
If it's due to efficiency then GAJ must've been pretty ordinary and Miller pretty awesome!

    Lach · 09/04/2017 at 23:12

Miller is a gun… not sure why you are only looking at those stats.. tackles, contested ball and efficiency..

      poloko48 · 09/04/2017 at 23:29

Where would I get such stats? Tackles were mentioned btw.

        Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 23:42

You can get those stats on the AFL website when you click in on advanced stats…on the game.

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 23:17

I know that ineffective kicks are worth nothing too if that makes any difference to your theory. Apparenly, an effective kick finds a target.

      poloko48 · 09/04/2017 at 23:30

Yeah but a differential of 20 is significant – I'm sure GAJ's kicks weren't that bad surely?

    poloko48 · 09/04/2017 at 23:33

I get everyone's points here, I just think CD need to be a bit more transparent with the way they score, that's all.
    Particularly in a $50K competition!
A lot of people have been mentioning the Bont's "inflated" scoring for example.
If everyone was clearer on the scoring then you'd see less people scratching their heads.
I wouldn't play Fantasy but at least the scoring is understood, much like CoachKIngs I guess.

    Rant over!

Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 22:23

Lost 3 out of my 10 leagues this week, one by about 90 points, the other 2 by 2 points and 1 goddamn point! haha

James · 09/04/2017 at 22:29

Should i get dusty or Rory sloane?

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 22:31

Tough one James, but I'd say , who do you like more?, probably Dusty if it were my call, both killing it at the moment.

    Michael · 10/04/2017 at 23:24

Sloane and put a c on him this week

chef · 09/04/2017 at 22:44

$60K in the bank and no clue what the hell to do with Shaw, Simpson, JOM & Taranto… Any clues?

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 22:51

I'd say JOM to Swallow, and then decide if you wanna do another.

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 22:54

O'meara's dead in the water at the moment for cash generation, Swallow will make 180 k in the next 4 weeks if he keeps his good form up.

    jpb · 09/04/2017 at 23:00

Keep Shaw and Simpson , too early to be trading your premo's.

How did you score for the round ?

macca · 09/04/2017 at 23:03

should i trade omeara or smith to newman

    Iamme · 09/04/2017 at 23:24

O'meara for cash generation, then you will still have Smith for loophole.

    whatyasmokin · 09/04/2017 at 23:32

Smith of course, he is injured for an extended period. What a question.

Chief · 09/04/2017 at 23:14

Hibberd -> Newman
Gawn -> Preuss R3 for cash generation & switch Nankervis from fwd to ruck with Strnadica for loopholing

Good or bad idea?

    TBone · 09/04/2017 at 23:24

hibb to newman is a lock. gawn to preuss not bad, but id look for a premo keeper like martin or grundy

LetsGo · 09/04/2017 at 23:21

Thoughts on swinging nank into the rucks and trading gawn for Nroo? Or is it better to just straight swap him for Grundy?

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 23:23

Trade Gawn for Witts or Preuss and some spud in the fwd line for Roo.

      LetsGo · 09/04/2017 at 23:28

That'd be using an extra trade though, and Im already getting in Newman this week

        Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 23:39

Oh ok, In that case, yeah good call.

whatyasmokin · 09/04/2017 at 23:30

Round 3 – 2231 – Missed points in brackets –

Glad I traded Pickett over Parfitt. Will not be trading O'meara.

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 23:45

Great amount of money left over, who are you getting in this week?

      whatyasmokin · 09/04/2017 at 23:55

Possibly just do Stewart to Newman.

    Russ in W.A · 09/04/2017 at 23:54

I would pish O'Meara off, he ain't gonna make you much cash in the near future, or points.

      whatyasmokin · 09/04/2017 at 23:56

Not sure, he may become a POD with everyone trading him out and I rate him.

        Russ in W.A · 10/04/2017 at 00:00

Yeah I did too, but don't anymore, better off going Jaeger to Swallow, at least he's stepping up and showing something.

          whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 00:10

I didn't see the game, will have to watch it during the week. It's a possibility but doubtful.

        Russ in W.A · 10/04/2017 at 00:05

Jaeger will make sweet FA in the next 3 weeks and Swallow will make 150k plus.

          whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 00:14

Yes and Swallow will cost a trade. Worth 150K+

O'meara was booed every time he touched the ball, was probably emotional for him and in general they just got smashed.

Bet he and the hawks will come back strong next week. I don't think I'm in a bad position to sit tight.

Going to need my trades to upgrade mid pricers, get new rookies and of course injuries.

            Russ in W.A · 10/04/2017 at 00:23

Agree you're in a good positon to sit tight, just trying to help, from what I saw of the game today, he (O'Meara)was largely unsighted, whereas Swallow was everywhere. You have the luxury of a hell of a lot of cash in the bank and that's a good thing.
Swallow may not need trading out at all by the way, just saying, he's looking pretty good.

              whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 12:19

              Cheers Russ.

          whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 00:16

The way I look at it, he's had his crap week.

I need him to make money up to the byes essentially, Swalllow and O'meara can easily end up similar values by then.

    Finnius · 10/04/2017 at 09:34

If I was you I would just upgrade JOM to a promo. That's what you had the cashow in the bank for at the start of the season- to get rid of poor performing midpricers. Maybe try and get dusty or the bont in. Guaranteed points each week and you still have 300k in your back pocket.

      whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 12:20

That is probably the thing to do with JOM at this point in regards to my team.

Joe · 09/04/2017 at 23:51

Both Smith and Hibberd on my DEF bench. Who to trade first for Newman?

    whatyasmokin · 09/04/2017 at 23:56

    Smith. Injured.

      INPieman · 10/04/2017 at 07:43

Yep Smith. Probably won't play again this season. Hibbo Jnr probably will

Adrian · 09/04/2017 at 23:59

i know l shouldn't but l really want to go m crouch to dutsty martin, please talk me out of it…have $132k in the bank….should l do this…..argh help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't want to burn a trade or use all the cash l have, as l know l need to have a bank! Not falling for murphy been there over the years, and the injuries and inconsisteny.

    whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 00:02

I like the trade, Martin is going to have a huge season by the looks of it.

You either want players who are cheap with growth or potential top tens at the moment and Crouch isn't one of them.

      Mich · 10/04/2017 at 10:58

      Richmond wont win every game

        whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 12:58

Doesn't matter martin is in his prime and probably a top 10 mid.

    Danners · 10/04/2017 at 10:28

I'll talk you out of it, you're chasing the train. Dusty has looked good but he won't average 140 odd for the rest of the season, wait till his price goes down a bit. If you can, maybe hold a week. Otherwise save $70k and go Hannebery

      whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 13:40

I'm not sure his price will go down much, I suppose if lucky then after the byes he might be 50K cheaper at most.

    jwill2bong · 10/04/2017 at 10:40

    Hi mate,

Was in the same position last week, booted Crocuh for the BONT who just seems to score for any thing he does +30 for a handball.

Very happy I did, just not sure about Crouchs ceiling anymore.

    Dildor · 10/04/2017 at 10:42

Problem i have is he improved massively in terms of stats this week. 21 kicks compared to 6 and 9 the last 2 weeks. Didn't translate to a big score. I still think he has an absolutely massive ceiling but not sure i can wait for him to prove it.

Billioux · 10/04/2017 at 00:05

Hello Newman indeed. Swallow or not? Age old conundrum.. If u got him well done, if not why we get him? keeper? Cashcow? Neither? I am unsure. Gawn. It stuffs my structure however i think Nank move from F3 to R2 and then thin ruck is my go. Cheers.

I'm sorry I don't understand Text-speak, maybe if you could find your way to communicating in some form of intelligible English Language, I could understand what you're trying to communicate, and could help you with your query..but I'm really not sure what it is you're trying to ask or say. This forum isn't a Text message, it's a Forum written in the English Language, so that people can communicate with eachother and exchange ideas and thoughts. Sorry if you feel like I'm chastising you but I'm not, I just don't subscribe to the point of view that U is now a word, because it isn't, and never will be.
If the question you were asking is, Is David Swallow a keeper?…I would say, yes I think he is ๐Ÿ™‚ Good luck with your season.

      Billioux · 10/04/2017 at 19:40

Right o Russ. I was not going to respond to your post. However 5 min scrolling back has prompted me to do so. U have just spent 5 lines of text having a crack at me for using U instead of You! Really! I looked at an English Language dictionary and couldn't find effing, whoda. thunk, ole, hellooooo to quote just a few "words in your past 24hrs of ramble.. U sir are a hypocrite. I apologise Community for being so childish and churlish and as a result i will give myself a self imposed 4 week ban from reading this mostly enjoyable forum. I will not read or reply to Russ after my ban. Good thank you.

    Steeeve · 10/04/2017 at 08:58

David Swallow is not a keeper and picking him up now is not going to make you much money. You've missed the boat, but there will be more pulling into the dock.

      Touk tuk · 10/04/2017 at 09:24

Not yet. He has only played 2 games.

    Danners · 10/04/2017 at 10:26

If you can fork out about $10k more, Hannebery or if you feel like taking a punt, Cripps

Steeeve · 10/04/2017 at 08:52

Problem with guys worth $220-$380k. One low score and that's three weeks of little to no cash gen. AKA Marchbank. Whereas true rookie priced blokes can still keep going up AKA every rookie except Pickett man is Pickett bad.

Top hawk · 10/04/2017 at 08:54

Port have the bye in round 9. You would only get 5 rounds out of Ollie before he has a week off. I would wait until after the bye to consider him now. (Especially if you have 3+ Port players now and 2 + Gold Coast players now) Cheers

Bock Choy · 10/04/2017 at 09:16

Finnius · 10/04/2017 at 09:30

Taranto or JOM to swallow?

My problem with Jaegar is that he will have that 44 in his rolling average for another couple of weeks. Swallow is on the bubble in what seems to be a revitalised Suns. Jaegar has a projected price rise of 3.7k next week….

Taranto is not producing the goods and there is only a 50k gap between him and Swallow which I can easily cover. However if I make this trade then I have no onfield rookies in the midfield (which means benching SPP) which I think is a mistake.

What do you guys reckon? Jaegar? TT? Neither?

    Danners · 10/04/2017 at 10:23

Taranto, he's a first year player and is not proven

    whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 13:00

    A revitalised suns?

One week ago people were ditching Lynch because Suns were going to have the worst year ever.

Thanks mate. A lot of luck and even more Arse.

      Pressure is on.

    Dildor · 10/04/2017 at 10:18

Stella start mate, give you a tim tam for a share of your 50k?

Dildor · 10/04/2017 at 10:16

Crouch had 21 kicks and 11 handballs and still didn't manage to crack the ton, dissapointing to say the least although stats wise an improvement from his 6 and 9 kicks the previous weeks. He's really torn me on my trades this week. He would be my only opportunity this week to get Murphy in before he increases possibly another 70k. Given that Murphy looks like he'll be an elite mid could be an okay trade.

HOWEVER, i also have Maxy Gawn and should trade him out. I had already planned the Hibbo > Newman trade and so i can only make one of either Crouch > Murphy (which would mean Gawn sits on the pine for a week) or Gawn > S.Martin/Nroo (Via Nank).

Whats everyones thoughts? Which way would you go?

    Kyle · 10/04/2017 at 11:50

I would go for martin and roo mate. Gawn is way too much $$$ to be sitting on the pine.

Murphy wont average 140 for the season and will start to drop off in the next few weeks. I think its a bit late to bring him in as we already missed probably his biggest scores for the year.

      neil demons delight · 10/04/2017 at 13:03

Agree with the lads crouch deserves one more week.Must offload Maxy to Roo/martin/strd The last one gives you plenty to get Hanna at around 500 however I AM GOING LIKE FOR LIKE welcome home to dees big Steph. if only..

    SCaddict · 10/04/2017 at 12:01

I would definitely deal with Gawn this week.and pounce on either Witts or Preuss before they increase in price any further. I reckon that would be wiser than trying to point chase an injury prone NRoo or Smurph.

You will then have plenty of cash to pick your ultra premo of choice to replace Crouch next week should he fail to get it done. Crows have the Dons at home so why not give him once last chance to prove his worth whilst you patch up your ruck situation this week?

      Dildor · 10/04/2017 at 13:18

It feels wrong trading from a premo down to witts or preuss who will require another trade down the track, if a trades worth 150k will they really make me 300k?

Is it better to go to Stef Martin who could very well finish #2 Ruckman in the end and still pocket some change?

On the other hand i am thinking of entertaining Omera to Newman which gives me another 200k for the warchest, these 2 trades fix the omera situation and Gawn but leaves a hibberd donut for loophole(maybe?). I started an extra deep in the midfield so omera out results in 1 onfield mid rookie.

        Dildor · 10/04/2017 at 13:23

FYI, that nets me about 300k

        whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 13:35

True but you have a LTI so you have to trade regardless. This makes the Witts trade perfectly fine and you only need to make another 150K+ on him which is extremely likely and then upgrade him to a premo later.

Just remember GCS also have their bye in round 9.

O'meara to Newman makes sense but I'm not convinced that O'meara needs to be dumped yet myself.

    INPieman · 10/04/2017 at 12:03

Getting rid of Gawn is priority number 1. In your situation I'd back Crouch in & grab newman whilst you can. I think Murphy will slow down shortly

rosy · 10/04/2017 at 10:49

I'm calling it – The JOM experiment has failed.
Last round I was mortified that a MID could rack up 36 touches and only score 89 and watching the actual game you could see why. He looked flustered and sloppy. Mentally, I don't think he's near ready.
This week confirmed by suspicions. 14 touches for 44 points against his old "fragile" team is a perfect insight into where he's at. Even if he pops up and scores a 90+ this week, he'll still struggle to put on any real value this year.
Pulling the pin.

    SCaddict · 10/04/2017 at 11:43

The Hawks are shot and Titch may end up being their only fantasy keeper this season. JOM, Roughie, Gunston, Burgoyne, Smith, Rioli will all very likely have to be moved on at some point. Life isn't going to get any easier against an in form Cats outfit so there will be even more heat in the kitchen for JOM & Co to deal with on Easter Monday.

He is certainly going to be a very slow burn now with that 44 in his pricing for the next 3 weeks. He'll eventually make $100K although the only problem is that he will have exhausted the patience of most of his owners long before he gets there. But that $150-200K that some were maybe hoping for is just a pipe dream now. Whilst not a forced trade at this point in time he will certainly be added to the never ending list of failed midpricers.

      INPieman · 10/04/2017 at 11:53

I think I saw him once in the whole game. He's a massive concern. I'll have a very very close look on easter Monday & make the call. The real winner hers is the Saints who have collected the Hawks first round pick for this year. Which the way it's going could be a top 5 pick. The question is who do they put on the table to get back into the draft

        Dildor · 10/04/2017 at 11:59

Cant see any serious players other teams will be jumping at, some role players of course, they did fish for Bruest offers last year to no avail. Can't see them getting back any serious draft picks this year.

          INPieman · 10/04/2017 at 12:55

I don't think they have much to offer either. Perhaps they could bundle JOM & TMitch up for a pick!!!!

        neil demons delight · 10/04/2017 at 13:08

Have to be Gunston or Bruest who was very ordinary Theres not much coming thru Lewis/Mitch trade going to bite Hawks

Big G · 10/04/2017 at 10:50

Grundy, the Nank or Big Stefan for Gawn?

    INPieman · 10/04/2017 at 11:54

Archie Smith bothers me when it comes to Stef Martin. If he comes in Stef's scores halve. I'd say the Nank

murray · 10/04/2017 at 11:04

    Nev43 · 10/04/2017 at 11:21

    Very good mate

    Dildor · 10/04/2017 at 11:35

Second, why so early on the rookie culls? Theyre both making some nice cashola at the moment, surely you have another way to get Newman in?

      hedski · 10/04/2017 at 11:57

Lucky I had my earplugs in at work, could have deafened me.

      murray · 10/04/2017 at 12:04

I can easily get Newman but want Swallow as well and I think SPP and Houston will peak soon and Swallow will be a keeper for mine, so figure I should do it before Swallow goes up in value

        Dildor · 10/04/2017 at 13:12

Peak soon? It was the first round of price changes, think it might be premature evacuation.

          Daniel · 10/04/2017 at 23:55

First price changes are almost always the biggest ones rookies and mid-pricers have.
If you're basing it off the next 3 weeks, I'd estimate you're going to make about 280k with Swallow / Newman, and maybe 160k off SPP and Houston.

You're also gaining some on-field points (maybe 30 per game), so that makes it more complicated but, in my mind, the cash difference is NOT worth two trades.

      Tiger · 10/04/2017 at 12:11

    INPieman · 10/04/2017 at 11:55

    Kyle · 10/04/2017 at 12:15

Bad move mate. Both still have a lot of cash to make and really low BE. Find another way to bring in newman.

As for swallow are you bringing him in as a cash cow? Or a keeper? One bad game and his BE jumps up a hell of a lot. There are much cheeper and safer rookies than swallow and he wont be a keeper so i would look elsewhere. Only reason i would bring him in is if downgrading JOM.

      murray · 10/04/2017 at 13:18

I would regard Swallow as a keeper as I think he may stay fit and repeat his 2014yr, but what is his BE at the moment?

    whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 13:38

These are so premature it's ridiculous.

      murray · 10/04/2017 at 14:33

i know it is premature but I left him out and should have had him in my team from the start

    Cr0magn0n · 10/04/2017 at 14:35

Bad move. Way too early to be trading those two out.

Garry · 10/04/2017 at 11:49

Thoughts on Mark Murphy

    Russ in W.A · 10/04/2017 at 12:53

    gun bring him in

    whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 13:28

    Waste of trades.

    Daniel · 10/04/2017 at 23:58

    Never heard of him.

Marc Murphy seems to be going well but he's already gained 70k in cash.
He has averaged in the 110s previously but it's been a while.
I think if you started with him, great but trading into him is too risky for me.

Jackson · 10/04/2017 at 12:15

ryder to witts and bank the cash or omeara to swallow

    Charlie · 10/04/2017 at 17:18

Both i reckon. Missed out a bit with witts but Swallow on the bubble

Imgonnalose · 10/04/2017 at 12:15

Does priddis have to go? Or he could be m8? Averaging 101 so far no where near elite level

    Steeeve · 10/04/2017 at 12:17

    Small sample size. Hold

      Pepper Pig · 10/04/2017 at 12:58

might want to upsize to uber premo

    Daniel · 11/04/2017 at 00:00

I've got him. Nowhere near the biggest issue, so I'll back him in (just look at his prior yearly averages if you're worried about 3 games).

Rob · 10/04/2017 at 12:23

Nank into Ruck (Swing Strnadica into FWD)
Keep Nank in FWD (Trade Gawn bring in Witts or another Ruck, keeps the structure)
Trade Gawn (Swing Nank into Ruck and bring in Prem Fwd)

Trade advice?

    neil demons delight · 10/04/2017 at 13:16

That's a Rob tough one not alone I have gone thru the three.. Roo makes sense going to be there anyway but I think Martin or Grundy but the way witts is going Roo might be good also hard call

      Rob · 10/04/2017 at 14:09

Thanks for your reply. Did you mean option 2, sorry if i've misunderstood. Cheerd

Jordan · 10/04/2017 at 12:39

I'm concerned once Rampe and McVeigh come back I'm not sure if there will be a spot in the team for Newman

    INPieman · 10/04/2017 at 12:44

Ramoe was listed as 7 weeks away last week. You only need 4-5 weeks of cash appreciation from Newman

      INPieman · 10/04/2017 at 12:50

      neil demons delight · 10/04/2017 at 13:19

      Juliet not happy 7 weeks

Tiger · 10/04/2017 at 12:41

Have the trio of sandi, wits & nank. Been using sandi & wits in the ruck & nank fwd. Cameron on bench. Is it too late to bring in preuss for Cameron/ Pickett purely to make money, but also to have a backup in case of a late out. Just hit me that if I had a late out this weekend I would have had a donut due to both the swans and tigers already played. Still think I haven't missed the boat on preuss as he still can increase in value by 150,000 plus . Would love the communities thoughts ? Thanks in advance , Tiger.

    whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 13:05

Then if Sandi or Witts have a small niggle and week off how are you gonna swing Nank into ruck?

      Tiger · 10/04/2017 at 16:03

I can't preuss will be my cover

Dice · 10/04/2017 at 12:43

Currently have Goldstein and Sandilands as R1 and 2, Preuss on the bench.
Do I… Goldstein for Stef Martin/Grundy or
trade Goldstein for a rookie ruck and push Preuss to R2?? (I have Nank in the fwd line)
Please help

    Russ in WA · 10/04/2017 at 12:50

    hold on Goldy

      Dice · 10/04/2017 at 12:52

      I hate trading out premiums.
Whats your theory behind that Russ?
Other thing I could do is trade Goldstein out, push Nank up to R1 and pick Nick Riewoldt

        Russ in WA · 10/04/2017 at 12:56

Goldy is a proven premo. If you must get rid of him and think he isnt going to be top 3 ruck. I like the move of Nank to R1 and upgrading to N Roo

          Dice · 10/04/2017 at 13:14

Just went through the feed and noticed you talking about offloading Goldstein to a rookie Russ.
You trying to stooge me big fella??

            Russ in W.A · 10/04/2017 at 21:26

Those comments weren't by me Dice, some idiot has decided to copy my name and start making stupid comments, and
I can pretty safely guess who it is.

              Dice · 11/04/2017 at 10:25

Ha, you sort those bastards out Russ!

The Nank · 10/04/2017 at 12:45

Which rookies are a must have this week other than Newman

    whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 13:28

None that I know of, you could trade in Hayward from Sydney in the forward line, he is on the bubble.

papa smurth · 10/04/2017 at 13:02

Thoughts on bringing in Gawn for Goldstein and moving preuss to R1 with Sandilands and using Gawn as a loop until he is back

    whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 13:10

    Cr0magn0n · 10/04/2017 at 14:38

    Lay off the crack pipe!

    Cr0magn0n · 10/04/2017 at 15:17

This may very well be the worst SC trade I have ever heard.

    Daniel · 11/04/2017 at 00:02

I don't see any other options out there for you – the cupboard is bare.

The Bont · 10/04/2017 at 13:28

I would trade mate

neil demons delight · 10/04/2017 at 13:37

Sorry Derek for this I notice you are last 369th and 1033 in arrears of the community rank. It was a wonderful achievement organising the rank and we all look forward to it kudos My question Derek and his many friends what does one do in this situation.Obviously Derek is a master at this game but how do coaches rejuvenate themselves and climb up.You have had heaps of bad Capt choice problems but very few bad personal choices Cyril aside. what do you do now there would be plenty in your position..good luck anyway son cheers Neil

    Keenbutclueless · 10/04/2017 at 15:23

It's actually a really good question for all of us. Derek is the most poignant example, because basically everything that could go wrong has gone wrong.
Reflecting on this myself, I look at my team and say it's really going as well as can be possibly expected.
Yet here I am drifting further away from the leaders and firmly entrenched in what appears to be mediocrity.
I went for 12 premos. 10 out of 12 scoring above target. If the other 2, Treloar is going ok. Only Gunston is a little off the pace.
Of my 4 mid prices, Nank is well ahead, Roughy and Sandi are doing ok. Only Mills is a bit off.
I missed a couple of early rookies but got them in round 3. All my Capt choices have been sound. Haven't left too many points on the bench.
So no bad luck. Everything basically going to plan, but ranked around 20k.
So I ask myself is it too late to change? I picked a course. The course is going to plan (except in ranking terms). So I know it's probably best to stay the course. But it just feels like the season is already drifting away.

      whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 16:08

Guns and rookies wasn't a good approach this season. It's a 'safe' play and you are ranked accordingly.

        Keenbutclueless · 10/04/2017 at 16:16

        Fair call.

          whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 19:22

It is a stable, tried and tested game though guns and rookies. Maybe the midpricers fall away?

I think you will probably climb ranks as time goes on.

    neil Demons Delight · 10/04/2017 at 17:06

I am similar KEEN 11 prems 3 midprice same as yourself no Mills dedicated program down to targets and who and when to trade in and out expected revenue and player costing.Of course we have mishaps along the journey GAWN FOR ME.. Guns n rooks basically is my go this year and like you ranked 20k +.What ya smoking is probably correct the year of midprice and we blame only ourselves.Beams Murphy Swallow Oliver NANK Witts Sandi all good .. my round 23 expected team is way out at this stage

      whatyasmokin · 10/04/2017 at 19:23

Is a long season though we will see what happens.

creeky23 · 10/04/2017 at 14:29

For Me –

Gawn OUT Nankervis IN
Ryder OUT St Nick (back) IN

Joe · 10/04/2017 at 17:01

Trades for me this week:

Smith to Newman
Gawn to Grundy

Quite concerned re Taranto, don't see his output getting higher in the rounds to come.
If Gawn didn't get injured I'd probably ship him off

Adam · 10/04/2017 at 19:42

Eddy – Hayward or Pickett – Fox??? Already done the Hibberd ti Newman trade.

Alby · 11/04/2017 at 05:13

Gawn and JOM out for Witts and Martin in., Can Witts be relied on as a 2nd ruckman,

Newman dilemma · 11/04/2017 at 08:44

Hi team,

Is it worth trading in Nic Newman for vickers Willis or Tom Stewart? This is purely for coverage. Is it too sideways or will Newman actually stay in the team?

    Dice · 11/04/2017 at 10:23

I'd be confident Newman will stay in the side, can play different roles and will not be omitted first before these other youngsters Sydney have

camdnz · 11/04/2017 at 08:57

Trading Gawn -> Riewoldt
Moving Nank -> RUC
Trading Hibberd -> Newman

Andi · 11/04/2017 at 13:00
