Bloody Will Hoskin Elliott…. is he a must have as of next week?

    INPieman · 01/04/2017 at 11:15

Don't expect 120's every week. But if you fit him in without compromising your structure then get on

      Dan · 01/04/2017 at 13:15

Looking like Simpkin out WHE in for me.

      #NANKFORPM · 01/04/2017 at 14:45

      Trade Taranto down to Willba.

        Seb · 01/04/2017 at 14:57

What's the bet Taranto comes out and gets a 100 this week

    Super Sasquatach · 01/04/2017 at 12:48

Yes he is, particularly with this sh1tty bunch of rookies we've been subjected to this season. Like INPieman says he won't be tonning up every week but he's a young player in form with a favourable fantasy role which is a rare commodity amongst rookie priced players in 2017.

      Samvir · 01/04/2017 at 13:03

If Taranto has another shocker, might have to trade.

        Super Sasquatch · 01/04/2017 at 13:18

Absolutely, could be the ideal candidate if he spuds again or gets dropped like Kennedy did this week.

    Dan · 01/04/2017 at 13:14

WHE for Dahlhaus could be a shark manoeuvre. Gets rid of a guy every man and his dog owns and allows you to maybe jump on another premo thats under selected.

      Seb · 01/04/2017 at 13:22

No that is stupid getting rid of a premo and wasting a trade, the goal is to get full premo

      Third Man Up · 02/04/2017 at 01:08

Only works if you don't think Dahlhaus is gonna be a top 6 forward. Otherwise in what way are you gaining an advantage on anyone who has him?

      Lach · 02/04/2017 at 22:16

WHE will not be a premo wtf is that train of thought?? You would be trading a guy every has to a guy every has… smh

    The Ranger · 01/04/2017 at 16:07

You just have to be careful you don't end up with too many 200K priced players, they tend to earn cash slowly.

    Thomasyates17 · 02/04/2017 at 13:20

Who do u guys think will be a good inclusion for next round I'm looking for some good forwards

Moosehead · 01/04/2017 at 10:35

Yep, I have thought hard about swapping him for The Bont, Dusty etc and use the extra dollars for another upgrade next week, but, over the years I have read of fools regretting sideways moves so reluctantly I will stay strong during the week. Since he is not injured surely he will come good. He simply has had a slow start!!!!! and in the five years I have played SC I have never made a sideways trade- yet!

    rex · 01/04/2017 at 10:44

but thats the problem.. he has to be carring an injury. he just looks like damaged goods atm

    Clokey · 01/04/2017 at 10:54

Never making a sideways trade could be why in 5 years you've never won a round high score or the major prize. The definition of foolishness is repeatedly following the same process and expecting different results

      Moosehead · 01/04/2017 at 11:49

With your sideways trading Clokey, how many have you won?

    INPieman · 01/04/2017 at 11:19

If I had Hanners I'd back him in. Sideways trading premos will lead to regret & you won't end up with the team you really want. I also think we will use more trades on rookies than previous years, And soon as trade him he will drop a 140

      Northernsoul74 · 01/04/2017 at 12:49

Usually I'd agree but Hanners looks really out of sorts like he's completely unfit. I don't have him but I'd consider giving him the flick.

      Nick Wealands · 01/04/2017 at 14:05

Great advice Pieman,I'll stick with him he'll hit form very soon just gotta wait it out

        INPieman · 01/04/2017 at 14:12

Good move Nick. Looks like I'll be trading a premo in goldy tomorrrow. But it's an injury trade & avoid a donut

      The Ranger · 01/04/2017 at 16:11

I'm not trading Hanners but I might loophole him with Pickett next week…

    Seeker · 01/04/2017 at 13:00

I have sideways traded in the past and almost always the player you trade out immediately improves.

Stantheman · 01/04/2017 at 10:42

I am hoping Hanners will come good. He just better.
I have the emergency loophole on Eddy – Florent. Should I take Florent's 44, which I thought was low for his efforts last night or risk Parfitt?

    Stirlsy · 01/04/2017 at 13:04

I was doing same thing with Florent, loopholing …. he did SFA in the 2nd half ill be rolling with Parfitt.

    Seeker · 01/04/2017 at 13:05

Think Parfitt just, however it won't be much more

    Danners · 01/04/2017 at 17:07

Risk Parfitt, you're not losing out on many points

    Trentb76 · 01/04/2017 at 21:03

Parfitt for sure. Bugger all to risk losing if it fails

OldOcker · 01/04/2017 at 10:43

Hanners is gone next week, Big stain in underpants.
I have many non playing rookies this week and no cash in bank.
Hanners will become the best 2 playing rooks i don't have next week and have some cash in the bank to pick up the NEW ROOKS on the scene the week after.
Hanneberry has not scored this bad since he was a rookie and I find it hard to believe that he could possibly be a top ten mid in 2017,
Arguments on this subject are welcome but please do not bother. When I am right I am not wrong.

    EatChickenNuggets · 01/04/2017 at 10:46

Pickett, Parfitt, Bowes or take Florent's very average score?

      OldOcker · 01/04/2017 at 12:15

If you were talking about captains and whether to take their score or not about 120 is points in the bank and take it.
When it comes to rookies you have mentioned, Florent has scored 48. Others are yet to play and I am sure one of those will score higher this week but at the same time I thought Hanners was top ten mid too. Clearly I was Wrong.

One thing I love about this site is the fact we try and teach people to think for themselves and make a decision in life.
Yes SC and this website is a life lesson full of Wisdom and Teachings.

Bottom line here is that this is one decision that you will have to make for yourself. Rookies are a lottery ATM.
Buy a Tattslotto ticket and hope for the best.

    Beezneez · 01/04/2017 at 13:16

His run of poor form started in the JLT.

Annie · 01/04/2017 at 10:49

Dan is the new rookie to have… Gone next week.

Skindog · 01/04/2017 at 10:52

Glad i got rid of him doesnt look 100% at all, bye Hanners, ill drink for the two of us, bloody hack πŸ˜‰

Mike · 01/04/2017 at 11:27

613k and after this round SPP will a higher SC score over the 2 rounds than hanners. Straight to bont for me . Like many others have said he truly dosent look like a top ten mid this year . These younger 6.5 mids ( cripps bont fyfe martin wines )ect are better athletes and are ripping games apart . Hanners is not a goal kicking mid . He tackels hard but cant see him getting his 32- 36 possies like he has in the past. ATM he hasent gotren 20 in a game . Possies is where he gets his points ;he just camt find it and its looking like he cant match ot with these young guns quickly developing and killing it . Sorry hanners you have killed it for me over the years with massive averages and scores for that matter ,but straight swap for atheletic youth. Enter the Bont . That is all

    JamiesNinjas13 · 01/04/2017 at 23:27

2 rounds…wow talk about premature analysis.

Cogla13 · 01/04/2017 at 11:27

Goldy on crutches, unlikely to play.

    Cogla13 · 01/04/2017 at 11:32

From Fox Sports website. And popular swingman Nanks has already played and locked in the forward line.

    INPieman · 01/04/2017 at 11:42

Holy Crap! To make matters worse by the time that game starts we won't know if Max Gawn is a late out

    Captain Risky · 01/04/2017 at 12:29

    April 1st?

INPieman · 01/04/2017 at 11:27

Liked the look of Newman last night. Looks a nice replecement to Hibbo Jnr ina couple of weeks. Hayward looks a player as well. And those that elected to start with Darcy Cameron can send a thank you card to Kurt Tippett. He's as durable a 1 ply toilet paper

    Captain Risky · 01/04/2017 at 12:32

LOL, Started Cameron and Pruess, I was regretting it but with Tippert injured and maybe Goldy the day has improved..

    Sabsy · 01/04/2017 at 22:47

I hope so too (as I have him) but I suspect Sinclair will get the nod out of seniority. They both played in the magoos today so hopefully Cameron had the better showing.

    DEE · 02/04/2017 at 11:29

If he goes OK next week Smith to Newnan Rd 4 could be a goer.
Saves me trying to find an extra 100k to bring in McGrath who will probably score similar to Newman

Freddy · 01/04/2017 at 11:36

Stuck in a dillema. Miles, Parfitt or Pickett on field?

    INPieman · 01/04/2017 at 11:52

    Stirlsy · 01/04/2017 at 13:09

Agree Parfitt, playing north lock him in.

    Neil Demons Delight · 01/04/2017 at 13:13

    parfitt slightly better

Seb · 01/04/2017 at 12:03

Barret or parfitt on field? Weather will be really bad in Brisbane so will that affect barrets score to much?

    Phil · 01/04/2017 at 12:43

The weather will effect everyone though and there's still 3300 points on offer, so I wouldn't let weather decide for you. A smaller player like Barrett might be better suited to the wet than, say a ruckmen would, so could work in his favour

Bock Choy · 01/04/2017 at 12:04

A bird in hand… Let pass a solid 120 from Pendles as my VC backing in JPK to beat that. Egg. Face.

    bAps · 01/04/2017 at 14:26

Do you not have Danger or Fyfe??

Luke · 01/04/2017 at 12:07

This happens year after year with premiums, they start slow and everyone rage trades them. If hanners gets going after a month your gonna hate yourself for punting him. Hes a proven gun, hold fast and work on building your team instead of side swapping premiums, kennedy also scored crap last night. Sydney have lost the games also patience people they will come good.

    Mike · 01/04/2017 at 14:07

If hanners is not scoring like a premium as well as losing money and not looking like a top 10 mid ,then he is NOT a premium

      crusher · 01/04/2017 at 14:34

I agree and whats with people wanting to get premiums that have fallen in price. They are obviously not performing if they are a fallen premium?

        The Ranger · 01/04/2017 at 17:21

The reason we try and get premiums that have fallen in price is in order to get a leg up on those that bought in their premiums at the top price Crusher. A few bad games in a row means you can get someone at 450-500K that others bought at 550-600K
        and thereby gain an advantage.
Obviously by the end of the season you want to have as many premiums as possible and when you pick up a fallen premium it's in the hope, based on your research, that there scores will return to their usual standard.

      The Ranger · 01/04/2017 at 17:16

Yes he is. He is performed over a number of games and seasons therefore he's a premium.
You can't judge someone on just two games Mike, take a look at Old Ockers spreadsheet, it gives you a statistical and longer term viewpoint.

Borko · 01/04/2017 at 12:08

hannan v houston? who has better js and scoring potential? I know pittard is coming back but Amon and Sam Gray are in the team too and could make way? Trading this week to allow more flexibility next week to move Hanners on

    Steeeve · 01/04/2017 at 13:03

I don't like Houston's JS with Pittard coming back

    SCB · 01/04/2017 at 13:47

Houston will not be picked over Amon & Gray. JS to me is bad unless there is another injury.

Sarah · 01/04/2017 at 12:17

If goody doesn't play is he a must trade?

    Seb · 01/04/2017 at 12:21

Depends how many weeks he's out

    Neil Demons Delight · 01/04/2017 at 13:15

    whos goody

      Seb · 01/04/2017 at 13:23

      Goldy she means

Phil · 01/04/2017 at 12:49

Jock Reynolds you son of a gun!! I must say you really have an eye for the big boys! Last year he was banging on about Maxy Gawn pre NAB cup so I picked him and the rest is history.
This year he says Goldy is starting to pickup injuries and predicted Brodie Grundy to overtake him. Early days, but looking spot on. I believe he is on the Nank Train too
You sir, can come down to my club and have a part time gig as my ruck coach anytime. What a legend!

    Steeeve · 01/04/2017 at 13:04

Couple years back he started with Will Minson and Ivan Maric.
But as all great me do, he has learned and improved.

John · 01/04/2017 at 12:54

I'm making 2 trades next week out hanners and florent in comes Bont and WHE

Super Sasquatch · 01/04/2017 at 13:01

Apparently the Herald Sun will be conducting an official investigation into the Treloar daylight robbery that has opccurred after the past fortnight, although I wouldn't get your hopes up Treloar owners. If Champion Data conceded that they fc*ked up well then every other player's dodgy score would be questioned. So the cynic in me fully expects it all to be swept underneath the carpet. Even Blind Freddy could tell something isn't right there so will be interested to see how they explain it away lol!

    The Drake · 01/04/2017 at 13:08

That's an April 1st official investigation.

      Super Sasquatch · 01/04/2017 at 13:09

      Shhh you spoil sport! πŸ™‚

    Jai · 01/04/2017 at 13:23

    April fools πŸ™‚

    The Stiv · 01/04/2017 at 13:25

Nice April Fool's Day joke mate.

Defying · 01/04/2017 at 13:09

Here is my rookie structure:

Defence: Marchbank, Hampton, Hibberd, Otten, Stewart

Midfield: SPP, Barret, Picket, Partfitt

Forward: Taranto, McCarthy, Housten, Eddy

Obviously I am missing a few possible must have rookies. So should I make the 1 trade this week and move on Eddy/ Hibberd to McGrath or Hannan. Currently have 180k in the bank also so cash next week for the WHE trade should not be a problem.

Neil Demons Delight · 01/04/2017 at 13:24

It is important we remember we need to get to full premium as quick as possible post byes.. To do this we need two things trades and without the other wont cut it.Trading Hanners is just mind bogling .If my memory is rite he had 4 sub 100s 2016 could be wrong someone will pick it up but hes a gun .two trades per premium is at least 22 plus corrective rookies doesn't leave much particularly two trades involving Hanners Crazy

    Starstruck · 01/04/2017 at 15:26

Neil, I checked Hanners scores from last year (too serious) and he started the year with 4, 100's and had five sub 100's including a 70 and 80 odd in rounds 17 and 18.
So frustrated Hanner SCers, keep him, he will come good.

The Stiv · 01/04/2017 at 13:27

Please trade out Hanners. I'm looking forward to him being a POD.

Steeeve · 01/04/2017 at 13:36

If Hanners is worth $450K in a few weeks he is in my team for sure.

Neil Demons Delight · 01/04/2017 at 14:15

A Quarter of my rookies are duds and I cant do anything with them THE THREE ending in T T barreTT pickeTT parfiTT Hibberd and Miles.the last two could be good loops but the TT s well just prey

    Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 16:56

Wait till after this week mate before you write em off, sometimes they just need to read that they're gonna be dropped if they don't perform this week.

      Neil Demons Delight · 01/04/2017 at 18:07

exactly Russ cheers.gor relos in W A but never been there reckon its great

        Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 18:26

Get over here mate, it's a beautiful place, no stinking pollution, lots of space and natural beauty.

Swans2012 · 01/04/2017 at 15:08

    Randomcliche2 · 01/04/2017 at 15:53

Sshhhh….holding the ball, changer handpass….3rd q…this is a jinx free Zone

crusher · 01/04/2017 at 15:48

Otten killing it

    Northernsoul74 · 01/04/2017 at 16:23

Just shows you've got to give these cheap players more than 1 week.

    Captain Risky · 01/04/2017 at 16:53

At least that should ensure he makes it to week 3 and makes us some cash..

Back to a 73 avg which is probably what we were hoping for.
And Laird back to earth as well. At least Hampton is consistent!

INPieman · 01/04/2017 at 16:01

I am a goldy owner. But I probably won't have enough info abou this injury by tomorrow. So I've pulled Straindick to Witts for insurance. Hopefully witts can be cover & a cow. And if I find out tomorrow Goldy is cooked for a long time I've still got the coin to go Goldy to Gawn

    Valens_FC · 01/04/2017 at 17:34

Nice move INP. Despite the Suns getting caned, Witts is one of the few to stand up. GAJ on the other hand… think he just got his first kick!

    Neil Demons Delight · 01/04/2017 at 18:04

Did the same yesterday PIES NO BRAINER REALLY nank permanent forward for long time matbe F6

      INPieman · 01/04/2017 at 18:18

Agree gents. It's. It without risk. But witss looks good for an 80 Av as long as he's number 1 ruck. Gary looks disinterested. I've got him but I'll back him in

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 08:27

    Ripping move

    Noirlust · 02/04/2017 at 19:55

Pieman, your team is well structured atm, very impressed

gator59 · 01/04/2017 at 16:02

Has Laird gone to the pub with Hanners

    INPieman · 01/04/2017 at 16:11

60 at HT & still on 60 half way through the last! Just called crime stoppers & lodged a missing persons report

      Thomas · 01/04/2017 at 16:30

Finished 76 pre scaling, absolutely useless after halftime

        hedski · 01/04/2017 at 18:13

I think we should consider trading him to Z.Jones..

          Randomcliche2 · 01/04/2017 at 22:06

          Aye, nice rod.

Thomas · 01/04/2017 at 16:33

Should i trade Smith to McGrath this week or wait till next week? If i do it, means i have Stewart on the pine as i used Smith to loop Otten. If i don't do it, Stewart will also be onfield. I also have Hibberd on the bench. Thoughts?

    Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 18:29

By this week I assume you mean after McGrath's second score is final, If he hits 80 + I'd say yeah why not, maybe even that Burton from Hawks, he did ok.

      Thomas · 01/04/2017 at 18:31

      nah i mean tonight

        Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 19:10

I'd probably wait Thomas, trades are gold in SC and McGrath could spud, Stewart wasn't too bad last week anyhoo.

Dogs · 01/04/2017 at 16:37

Hi community, I started mostly guns n rookies this year, with only a few mid prices in sandi, roughy, nank. Round 1 was great, 29 green lights. Rd 2 already have 4 non playing , 5 including strong peni. Only have 66k in the bank, and cand can't afford to upgrade any rookies to the premium rookies, so I'm thinking maybe downgrading roughy to a rookie, to allow some rookie corrections over the next few weeks. Here's my team, what do you think.

Shaw, laird, marchbank, Hampton, otter, Stewart ( smith, hibberd)
Danger, Pendles, JPK, Selwood, Fyfe, titch, beams, spp ( Barrett, parfitt, mount ford)
Gawn, sandi (strong peni)
Dahl, macrae, nank, roughie, butler, Houston ( eddy, Pickett)

Neverweaken · 01/04/2017 at 16:40

Anyone rage trade otten? Couldn't decide between him or Hampton on field so kept both on. Knew whoever I took off would score big.
Now will pepper pig out score swallow?

    Neverweaken · 01/04/2017 at 16:42

Oops. To late. Swallow on field for me.

Neverweaken · 01/04/2017 at 16:45

Thoughts on Roughy. Will he improve on 80 to 90s? Or flick to Hannan or WHE for cash generation?

    Dogs · 01/04/2017 at 16:52

That's what I'm thinking now that I have 4 non playing rookies.

    Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 16:53

It's a tough one, I want to dump him for WHE or Steele, but I'll have to wait till Steele's score first, I reckon Roughy will improve but how long will it take?

    Danners · 01/04/2017 at 17:05

Keep him if you can, trade him if you are desperate for cash

Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 16:51

Good week for Otten to have a good one for me, flicked Joel smith onfield and bam!

    jpb · 01/04/2017 at 22:45

    I did the same

He will be cheap in a few weeks.

Tommo09 · 01/04/2017 at 17:05

Roughy to WHE next week?

    hedski · 01/04/2017 at 17:19

    Tempting. No. Maybe.

    The Ranger · 01/04/2017 at 17:23

    Too sideways for me Tommo.
I bought Roughy as a keeper. Even if it's only F6/7 come seasons end.

    Uberboy · 01/04/2017 at 17:45

Hawks will thrash Caaaaaalton next week and Roughy will kick ?

    Neil Demons Delight · 01/04/2017 at 17:57

Don't do it Tommo Roughys still got a bit yet

hedski · 01/04/2017 at 17:18

Otten done good.

    Joeblow · 01/04/2017 at 17:57

    Do you mean 'did'?

          Or well for the pedantic.
          Ha. Yes about. Russ.(purpose)

Westy · 01/04/2017 at 17:24

Looks like a choice of bringing in Otten or Newman for Smith in DEF.

Neil Demons Delight · 01/04/2017 at 17:56

Benched Ottens thought he was a dud think its a once off now got to work on a loop

Jack · 01/04/2017 at 18:03

Can't remember a season where I have missed so many rookies….Hannan, WHE, McGrath, Otten, Ainsworth, Houston, Newman

    Neil Demons Delight · 01/04/2017 at 18:26

spot on Jack now for some aggressive trading without that we are history. Have to get Mc Grath Hannan maybe Hannan WHE Newman to start some of the others will come good

    Northernsoul74 · 01/04/2017 at 18:28

Wow who did you start with?

    Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 18:41

Remember though, Hannan was an unknown, WHE had a history of mediocrity, McGrath wasn't expected to start round 1, and is expensive, Otten everyone was saying he'd lose his spot fast, Ainsworth, also expensive for a rook, Houston, quite a lot had him I think and Newman didn't play round 1.
You're not alone is missing out on a lot of these guys, many guys are in the same boat.

    Derek · 01/04/2017 at 19:18

That is what this week is for.

Mac D · 01/04/2017 at 18:12

Hanners never gone sub 100 in his career except rookie year….. I'll be very concerned next week, he seems like Pendles last year, avoiding the contest….. But there was improvement this week compared too round one. I think you owe it to the gods to give the kid one more crack…….and if he bombs again well…….. One can won't be enough.

    Mac D · 01/04/2017 at 18:13

Sorry – meant sub 100 three times in a row lads.

Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 18:45

Gazza's looking a bit shadowy of his former selfy…hope he has a big last quarter, just for Matchday's sake.

Tommo09 · 01/04/2017 at 18:46

Lynch. Hopeless.
His teammates haven't helped though

    Anth · 01/04/2017 at 18:56

What are you thinking to do with him, trade? Hold?

      Tommo09 · 01/04/2017 at 18:57

Hold for sure but he he's been really bad today
His teammates might help him if they got it into their F50

    jez_m · 02/04/2017 at 08:47

Not much he can do when the ball isn't coming down his end, Tommy. He put up a 37 in Round 11 last year and then pumped out a 116 the week after, so he'll bounce back.

Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 18:50

Taranto seems to be looking to get his ass canned this week too.

    Top hawk · 01/04/2017 at 19:20

Taranto is toast this week.Bloody spud. Taranto out and WHE in. Easy decision now.

      Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 19:37

76 ain't terrible though, I'm gonna be a bit torn on that one.

        Off The Bench · 01/04/2017 at 20:12

76 ain't too bad. WHE has started well but will also probably whack in stinkers from time-to-time. I don't think this should be an easy sideways decision to make.

      Spifflicator · 05/04/2017 at 15:54

I burned Pickett to get WHE. I will keep Taranto for now and see what happens this week, he's still going up in value (more than Pickett and Parfitt anyway). Remember their week 1 scores cycle out of their average in round 4, so all the guys who scored low can suddenly jump in value as they drop those 20-30's. Fingers crossed anyways.

Reiwoldting · 01/04/2017 at 18:54

Will Hibberd play? Hoping to loop for otten.

    Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 18:56

Not this week, if Goldy doesn't play, Preuss will probably come in for him and share the ruck duties with Daw.

Boltons Blues · 01/04/2017 at 19:13

thank you north melbourne, dropping Hibbered forced my hand and made me play Otten, thank the supercoach gods!!

    Top hawk · 01/04/2017 at 19:24

Otten on the bench as an emergency and Joel Smith on the field! Thanks Joel, you champion loop holer! Partially makes up for the Aaron Hall disaster today. Completely sha t is jocks.

Alex · 01/04/2017 at 19:30

Kicking myself for picking bloody Gazza. Looks like he's carrying something. Played mainly forward at the end so movement must be an issue. Should I hold or trade?

    Geoff · 01/04/2017 at 19:43

I've got the bugger too. Gonna swap him for Tommy Mitchell and bank $50,000. Seen enough now to know he will rack them up and be a consistent scorer. GAJ just doesn't look right.

      Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 19:47

I tend to agree with Geoff there, I'd be tempted to pull the trigger on Gazza out to Tmitch or Martin, Trealoar, or Heppell.

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 08:31

Joe · 01/04/2017 at 19:31

Have Taranto's 76 on the bench right now, should I play Eddy on field so I take his 76, or play Houston instead?

    Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 19:40

I'd take the 76 Joe, Houston could get injured in the 1st 2 minutes…or perform like a superspud.

      Finnius123 · 01/04/2017 at 19:50

      Cop the 76 for shizzle

Holty · 01/04/2017 at 19:37

    Geoff · 01/04/2017 at 19:46

He's not right mate. I've seen enough. Will just burn a trade and move on. Never pick guys who have poor preseasons is the moral of this story uggh.

Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 20:05

Kennedy, oh Kennedy, where for art thou Kennedy?…lol

    Don't Blush Baby · 01/04/2017 at 20:06

    and Steele ?

      Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 20:10

Yeah bloody hell!, I guess it needs to get into JPK's fwd line first, and Steele?…wtf?

Top hawk · 01/04/2017 at 20:16

Jack Steele and JJK on fire at quarter time. Combined score of ZERO. -1 and +1 respectively. LOL I just shake my head……..On a positive note, things can only improve from here. You'd think…….

    hedski · 01/04/2017 at 20:47

Happy with Bud and Rough when you look at it like that Toppa, bit to go tho.

      INPieman · 01/04/2017 at 20:56

On 11 & 12 at HT. seriously large turds being deposited at Subi

        Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 20:59

JJK's more of a yoyo man than the Yeo Yeo man.

          Don't Blush Baby · 01/04/2017 at 21:00

          Go the Yeo

        hedski · 01/04/2017 at 21:17

Nice move on Witt's Pie, still hoping Maxy plays.

          INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 07:04

            Abel · 02/04/2017 at 08:33

    Seb · 01/04/2017 at 20:58

Just traded Steele in not happy… stupid move on my behalf but he has only had 60% game time( my excuse)

Michael · 01/04/2017 at 20:48

As a Greene owner feels good looking at Steele and JJK spudding up. Shows never to be reactionary over round 1 scores

Moosehead · 01/04/2017 at 20:49

When will the point chasers/panic merchants/trade wasters wake up.

    Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 20:55

It's a long season and only when you look back on what decisions you made at the end of it, do you realize the mistakes you made and the good calls.

Iamme · 01/04/2017 at 20:50

Can wait till Sunday night Steele = WHE and Hanneberry out for Beams or Heppel.

    Rick Grimes · 01/04/2017 at 20:59

You gonna drop Steele after a big ton round 1? He'll easily hit his be. Could ton again R3 and WHE do f-all. What's the point??

      Iamme · 01/04/2017 at 21:30

Cash gen, only got 17K At the moment…..if Steel ends with a 60 I think I will hang on to him…as for Hanneberry two total shockers and don't think he can finish a top 10 mid now.

    Danners · 02/04/2017 at 10:05

Have faith and patience. Find another way to get WHE in. Hannebery will find form, don't go point chasing

Jack · 01/04/2017 at 21:04

Current Rookies: I feel like I need to make a few trades…

DEF: Marchbank, Hampton, Otten, Stewart, Hibberd
MID: SPP, Barrett, Parfitt, Pickett
RUCK: Strnadica
FWD: WHE, Taranto, Butler, Houston, Eddy

Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 21:05

Lions coming back at the Bombers..that'd be a story!

Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 21:08

Mcgrath 29 points from 7 disposals with 8 mins to go in the 3rd, spudley effort.

    Derek · 01/04/2017 at 23:55

    He looks very good

Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 21:17

How good is Beams being out for so long and being right up at the top in points?…wish all midpricers were like Beams this year lol

    Rick Grimes · 01/04/2017 at 21:27

Will be impossible to ignore this week. Watch me curse him. Haha

      Seb · 01/04/2017 at 21:36

            Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 21:57

Go Beamsy, for both of us ! πŸ™‚

Billioux · 01/04/2017 at 21:23

Hmm Gaz. Started him for the last 5 yrs. This yr in I know all about the dubious nature of premo side trading. For once i think it has to happen Gaz down to a missed rookie. Bank cash and move on.I watched whole game and i love the little master however he jusI stunk. i think his 110 avg is dust.

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 08:34

150 next week and a 110 average we have

Tommo09 · 01/04/2017 at 21:36

Will be lucky to hit 2100 this week, maybe worse
Rubbish efforts from Lynch, JJK, Steele, JPK, Laird

I need a really good Sunday to salvage my week
Will be praying to the SC Gods tonight

    Derek · 01/04/2017 at 22:42

JJK had a big last quarter

      Tommo09 · 02/04/2017 at 07:13

Even with that I'm projected to get 2097

Daddy · 01/04/2017 at 21:37

Beams off the ground with a right foot injury, doesn't look to bad but for such an injury prone player this makes me nervous

    Moosehead · 01/04/2017 at 22:10

Came back on and kicked with his left foot. Instep problem me thinks. A couple of jabs will get him up for next week. What a player. Wish I had risked him.

      Derek · 01/04/2017 at 22:39

I have the same thoughts. Didn't want to risk him, but he does look good

Traders · 01/04/2017 at 21:46

Steele what ring dud…..pumps out a 113 and $hits the bed ……what Ring mook

    Dean · 02/04/2017 at 20:43

You have to expect that from these mid priced, especially the younger mid priced, 9.5 out of 10 will be very inconsistent.

Traders · 01/04/2017 at 21:46

    Russ in W.A · 01/04/2017 at 22:23

You think Fing is a replacement for ring? Both are the English of an ape. Do you think 'a' has now become irrelevant in our language?…text much?

      hedski · 01/04/2017 at 22:37

Being an English professor myself at this fine country's top universities….. GO BEAMS.

Finnius123 · 01/04/2017 at 22:25

Man of Steele MIA tonight. Only 60% TOG does not look good. Has Batman (in this case the expectations of 34.9% of supercoachers) got the best of him?

    Iamme · 01/04/2017 at 22:42

Considering he had 13 points at half time…ill take that.

      Holty · 01/04/2017 at 22:50

Stefan Martin! He good good boy! He lone wolf. He kick some big asholes. Welcome!

The Nank · 01/04/2017 at 22:54

take taranto 75 or play hannon?

    Iamme · 01/04/2017 at 22:58

75 for a rookie, I'd be happy with that.

      Finnius123 · 01/04/2017 at 23:02

      cop taranto for shizzle

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 08:36

    Bank points

NutSack · 01/04/2017 at 23:15

AFL SUPERCOACH- the ONLY thing you can gamble on int the world where they do NOT have to tell you how they come up with the resultt. One day betting on SC will be outlawed as it is corrupt and NOT transparent.

    Billioux · 01/04/2017 at 23:39

Boxing, diving, anything with human, thus possible corruption, driven scoring. The winner or the Doncaster is the 1st past the post. The winner of football, netball, lawn bowls is the highest score. Pure Maths no human opinion on scoring. I most strongly agree Nut.

    OldOcker · 02/04/2017 at 00:17

    Can you gamble on SC?
If so you are 100% correct in the fact that they MUST BE TRANSPARENT in the scoring system.
Over 50 considerations in scoring that they won't release because they don't think we are smart enough to understand.
I may not be that bright but I am also not that stupid.

      Luke · 02/04/2017 at 23:07

If anyone actually watched Treloar over the past 2 games would realise his petty handballs have gone straight to the opposition on most occasions. His disposals haven't been as effective. hence the below expected scores. he has scored OK. anyone that trades him is a goose. he will come good for his owners

        chris · 03/04/2017 at 15:58

Goose on me I traded him out for Murphy and $170k left over to fix a couple of problems

    Moustachio · 02/04/2017 at 09:41

    Except it costs you $0

Juzzy · 02/04/2017 at 00:42

" We never knew he was an alcoholic until he started playing matches sober ".

Yeah, Get Dan a can.

    Love it

Borko · 02/04/2017 at 02:36

C on Danger today … has gone 120+ on 18 of last 25 matches (72%). Big chance of beating pendle's 120 v the Roos (229 in 2016).

    INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 07:34

I'm hoping Danger can rip out a monster & salvage the round

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 08:37

    288 x 2

    Moustachio · 02/04/2017 at 09:40

I've got it on him too, but I don't think he will go huge. Last season North were still maybe a threat, so he really turned it on. Now they are nothing and he will just cruise in second gear.

The BONT · 02/04/2017 at 07:03

Do i go Barrets 50 or turn to Pafeit to get higher

    INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 07:27

If role the dice on parfitt

Neil Demons Delight · 02/04/2017 at 07:49

even though McGrath didn't go big last nite looks every bit good even better than good cant see him being dropped but will he make big coin

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 08:38

He looked great. Might be a playable option for a few months

INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 08:09

That was a very frustrating Saturday. Laird going great till HT then goes missing till 5 minutes from the end of the game. Steele on -4 at Q time & 13 at HT. And Gary, I've never seen a player so disinterested. They should have sent him back to Geelong. He wasn't moving well compared to last week. He's picked up an injury

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 08:39

Everyone wants to play with Danger. I do too.

      INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 11:35

Yep. Tore north to shreds last year

Tophawk · 02/04/2017 at 08:22

Take Taranto's 75 or let Peppa Pig loose to try to chase that down on the field?

    Take it

    Pitch 72 · 02/04/2017 at 09:00

Pepper pig is going to run riot. on freo. Roll the dice for me

jez_m · 02/04/2017 at 08:59

Take Barrett's 50 v Essendon last night or put Petrevski-Senton on field instead? Very frustrating yesterday watching Laird, Lynch and Shaw spud up for most of the afternoon.

    INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 09:10

Long list of spud performances yesterday

    Danners · 02/04/2017 at 09:58

Tophawk · 02/04/2017 at 09:15

Sitting on 1493 with Danger (C), Fyfe, the Doc, Marchbank, and Sandi to play. I will be lucky to crack 2200 this week after some absolute putrid performances this week. Aaron Hall- 44 (Looks like that POD play is dead in the water), Laird- 76 (This what happens Rory when you go missing for a quarter and a half!!), and Steele- 65. (The man of Steele has turned into the man of jelly)

Big Stefan Martin (126), Beams (120), Adams (111), and Otten (108) are a few which are keeping it together (just) this week. Need a big effort from Danger today. Cheers

    wenurpizarolsrdone · 02/04/2017 at 09:17

Same tophawk reckon I'll be lucky to crack the 2200

      INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 11:37

Right now I'd take 2200 & move on. Don't think I'll get there. Some premos misfiring

        I would take that

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 02/04/2017 at 12:00

Started off gr8 Thursday night but went downhill from there.

Hannas and Shaw thanks guys. 120 between you for a $1.2m outlay. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

    Thank god for the Titch

Mayniac · 02/04/2017 at 09:26

I know sideways trading is not the go – but seriously thinking Hanners to Heppell to save losing $$ and free some up to help across another line.

    Danners · 02/04/2017 at 10:01

Have faith, Hannerbery will average more than Heppell by the season's end. Waste of a trade

Don't Blush Baby · 02/04/2017 at 09:28

Is Goldy Gawn ? might be id he's out for awhile, and is Gawn Gawn? Does anyone have any further news on rumours that they will be late outs ? Hopefully the Roos and Dees will give us something early so we adjust if needed. Cheers

Boltons Blues · 02/04/2017 at 09:40

Ok fellow Supercoachers, whats more important, around 80 average on the field, or a swing set (FWD>Ruck), why you ask?

well, ive got Nankervis, Sandilands and Witts sitting on the pine at R3.
is it worth getting Nankervis into the forward line and starting Witts along side Sandilands but losing my sing set with Rough and Nankervis
Witts got 100 last night and i hate wasting points like that, he isnt going to be a keeper but i can wait until after his bye and use the money made to trade him into a keeper after that.
Or, do i just continue with my structure and the reason i put him there, to make money

jordanandeddie · 02/04/2017 at 09:49

Help with what to do with Jack Steven??
Started him this year as my mid POD but he has quickly become the spud nugget of my team. The Age reported he was taken to the hospital for X-ray's after the game last night.. perhaps after his effort they were searching for a backbone.

    Annabelle · 02/04/2017 at 10:00

That is a bit tough. You take SC too seriously. I like to win too but it is only a game.

    jordanandeddie · 02/04/2017 at 10:14

Just heard he has a punctured lung.. I take back my cynicism. Hope you're on the mend mate. Do need to move you on though.

      INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 10:23

Playing with a punctured lung is reasonably gutsy

    Noirlust · 02/04/2017 at 11:40

Had him as my pod mid too. Really hurt my scores these 2 weeks and the punctured lung gives me the right justification to mive him on

      Danners · 02/04/2017 at 12:44

Same scenario as Hannebery, hold unless he's injured

        noirlust · 02/04/2017 at 19:57

Do i get rid of T.Lynch for Buddy and Taranto for Hannan if he plays well

    INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 10:25

I would not do that. Lynch will have plenty of good games

Cliffy · 02/04/2017 at 10:38

Have locked in scores from Otten (108) and Taranto (75) as loophole scores for Defense and Forward lines respectively.

However, should I take Barrett's 50 from last night against the Dons or should I roll with Pickett/Parfitt? I'd likely go with Parfitt in terms of those two if I risk it.

musicissport · 02/04/2017 at 10:46

Can someone tell me how CD come up with projected scores on rookies? Hannan projected to score 96 this week – are they serious? 2nd game up after a great debut, we know what happens next – generally a shit SC score. Same with SPP to a lesser extent. I started to get excited this morning looking at projected score of 2278 but simply not realistic.

    wenurpizarolsrdone · 02/04/2017 at 10:49

They just give rookies the projected score of what they scored the first week

Nate · 02/04/2017 at 10:56

I'm locked in a close battle. Do I take Hamptons score or run with Stewart (got Vince to loop)?

Do I take Butlers score or play Parfitt?

    INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 11:39

60+ is fine for a rookie. Take them

    INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 11:50

I'm glad I traded straindick to Witts yesterday in case this happened

      BrownlowBoy · 02/04/2017 at 11:53

Well played by yourself Pieman! Witts scored very well which is great for you.

        INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 12:01

Witts looked like the only GC player that deserves a game next week

      Neil Demons Delight · 02/04/2017 at 12:16

same here Pies but lot of bench coin .Maybe an R2 when Sandy goes

    Geoff · 02/04/2017 at 11:57

Any Goldy owners trading Strnadica to Preuss?

      INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 12:05

I considered that. But he was ommitted. So his JS is not good when goldy returns. Which could be next week. Still if you need to avoid a donut it's an option

        Geoff · 02/04/2017 at 12:10

Have the cash to go to Gawn but worried he could be a late out after his issues during the week. Spencer listed as an emergency too which is not a great sign.

          Jeremy · 02/04/2017 at 12:32

Spencer played VFL yesterday. Gawn playing.

            Geoff · 02/04/2017 at 12:42

Awesome thanks mate. Seems the logical move given the situation so will pull the trigger. Should go large against the Blues too! πŸ™‚

    Blaknight · 02/04/2017 at 12:53

Martinlands was the only safe pick pre round 1 in my books. So far its paid off πŸ˜›

INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 11:51

No Hibbo Jnr late reprieve. Hello Otten score!!!

    Neil Demons Delight · 02/04/2017 at 12:21

Once again same here Pies but both OTTEN and Witts will be common. Thinking about keeping Smith as def loop but like the tax man greedy and need to collect from all

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 16:48

    Haha well played

    Cpt Pugwash · 03/04/2017 at 07:50

I took that slice of pie too? I was wrapped.

Sarah · 02/04/2017 at 12:22

Goldy to sandi a must trade with no back up?

    Randomcliche2 · 02/04/2017 at 12:32

Yep, will give you cash for your good friends WHE and Marchy as well. I don't consider it stuffs your structure.

    Danners · 02/04/2017 at 12:36

Not necessarily, might only be out for a week. In the long run, missing his score won't do much and you save a trade

    Neil Demons Delight · 02/04/2017 at 12:51

    whos ur R1 Sarah

    INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 12:51

They are saying Goldy will be fine for next week. Same as swallow he rolled an ankle at training

      Finnius123 · 02/04/2017 at 12:56

The difference this week is that if you have Strndica then you will probably be running an onfield doughnut if you don't trade Sandi, whereas if you had swallow then at least you would have had rookie back up

finnigin · 02/04/2017 at 12:46

parfit or picket ? thoughts

    Blaknight · 02/04/2017 at 12:55

If you have Eddy also use him as a FWD loophole. Select Parfitt as your E and if he plays terrible sub in Pickett, but you will only have 30 to 45min window todo so.

Finnius123 · 02/04/2017 at 12:55

I think for next week I am going to go Taranto to Witts. The bloke is looking very good and has much better JS. Will swing Nankdaddy into the forward line. This is what I wanted anyway and gives me a good rookie swing with Strndca and nank, because if a rookie on my forward bench kills it then I can just take his score instead of Witts.

Was going to trade Hibbo Jr to Newman, however there is absolutely no harm done in waiting another week because he won't hit a bubble this week anyway. Providing no injuries this week, will only have to do one trade. Already made two last week though…

I have calculated that I am allowed 4 rookie trades, because I only need 17 trades to get my side full premo due to the number of midpricers that I have. That leaves me with 9 corrective/injury trades for throughout the season. I am pretty happy with this, however it really means that I have to back my premo's otherwise I am goneskis tradewise.

What do you guys reckon?

    Crusher · 02/04/2017 at 14:02

Is this with having any premos or back ups once you reach full premo?

      Finnius · 02/04/2017 at 14:04

      1 back up

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 16:50

    Taranto scored 75…. He's definitely a hold…

    finnigin · 02/04/2017 at 19:21

whats your rank ? you going for gold or beating your mates

    Daniel · 03/04/2017 at 12:07

I am doubtful that all of your midpricers will get to where you need them to be price-wise for your upgrades.
More likely, you'll need 20 to get full premo. Regardless, that would leave you with 6 injury / other trades if you use 4 for rookie corrections.

Nemoi · 02/04/2017 at 13:02

C McCarthty of B.Parafitt!!!!!!!

    Finnius123 · 02/04/2017 at 13:15

Mcarthy has a higher ceiling so probably pick him even though he may be a dud. They both probably won't score that highly so Mccarthy is the better option I feel.

CHOPSTIX · 02/04/2017 at 14:07

CanneBury will be a juicy upgrade target later in the season.

For now – GAJ —> Bont, just ahead of Pendles.

    Northernsoul74 · 02/04/2017 at 14:39

I'd be getting Pendles in ahead of the he Bont.

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 16:46

    Why are u trading GOD

      Nietzsche · 03/04/2017 at 12:08

    Holty · 02/04/2017 at 14:49

Wow. So injury prone but maybe i need to get him in.

      Tibor · 03/04/2017 at 13:17

I think get him in quick. The fact that he shows so much promise nearly every single season and then drops away to be injured or perform like a total spud suggests it is barely even possible he would do the same thing AGAIN

Neverweaken · 02/04/2017 at 14:43

Do I jump on Higgins from Rough or am I chasing last weeks points?

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 15:02

I reckon he could end up a top forward, especially with how much midfield time he's getting.

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 16:45

Hold Rough. U can always buy higgins later if he turns out to be the real deal, Id rather pay the extra 100k then sideways trade and take a risk

      Tim · 02/04/2017 at 18:41

But by when will you have established that Higgins is the real deal? His point scoring isn't the problem, it's his body. Always a risk, but he is looking good in that midfield.

        Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 20:07

His scoring could be a problem in a couple of weeks, 2 weeks is not reliable data. At this stage I will be waiting till the rd 12 bye unless someone gets injured, I might consider bringing him in rd 8 maybe

So what's the par score this week? Thank god danger is captain. My backline has killed me.

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 16:43

Certain players may or may not go big so par could be anywhere from 2100 – 2300 but probably around 2200

    It's a no brainer

    Dean · 02/04/2017 at 20:23

You are a greedy fool for asking this.
Sorry if that sound's abrupt but it's bloody STUPID not to take a guaranteed 140 from your Vice Captain, rather then roll the dice with another player regardless who that player may be.

That's the whole bloody point about the "loop hole" as it gives you a second chance should one need it on their captain.
To even contemplate the thought of NOT taking your VC score of 140 or 120+ is just greed and ABSURD as far as im concerned.

      Don't Blush Baby · 02/04/2017 at 21:53

Smurph looks solid this year, I was thinking Oliver too, looks like he's developing into a great young gun.

FFS so much for paying the big bucks for Shaw and Docherty

    Troy · 02/04/2017 at 16:33

Mid week I traded Grundy out to free up cash to bring in Shaw. 10 mins before the Pies game i got cold feet and reversed the trade…thank christ i did!!!

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 16:35

In the same boat with Shaw, It's the risk u take when u get a inconsistent player like Shaw. He didn't ton up in ten games in 2016. But u take that because he goes big in many games

    Derek · 02/04/2017 at 19:09

    Tough on Docherty!

Feel bad for those who used him as a loophole because he will most likely pump out a below average score.

Shit hope Eddy beats Butlers 65, there goes my loophole..

    Top hawk · 02/04/2017 at 17:14

Just kicked a goal. Thats gotta help! I have him onfield. Did not need him as a Captain loophole. I thought I was going to have to settle for parshitt's pathetic 36. Now he is actually playing, with a bit of luck should pick me up 20-30 odd bonus points. That's the plan mind you. Cheers

Yep. I did. Just got home to find out.

      Derek · 02/04/2017 at 17:06

Tell me about it sure he would av backed up after that performance. My idea Pieman was start Nank R1 Sandi R2 l have Standick fwd emg. Pruess my R3 Pruess to make enough coin so l could swing Nank Fwd Standick ruck and hopefully get Gawn on the cheap later on.

INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 17:03

Brett Eddy is a late in. And he's about to become a popular captain for many that would have the VC on Danger & don't have straindick!!!!

    Top hawk · 02/04/2017 at 17:11

Did not need to use Eddy as a loophole this week. I had him on field to grab Parfitt's pathetic score of 36. The fact he is playing is now a nice little bonus for me. He should cream 36 as he just kicked a BIG goal. πŸ˜‰

The Doc and Marchbank coming good. Bloody relief!!! Kade Simpson is in for a rare spud score this week.

cashcows · 02/04/2017 at 17:28

With the loophole potential across all lines it was gonna happen that one of the rookies would be a late in.
Hoping for a big score from Eddy to beat Taranto.

Just a bit salty I didn't go Strandick to Preuss for coverage for Goldy. Ill take solace in the fact I wont be wasting a trade. If I did and goldy is out for weeks, that would have been 2 trades for 100 points.

They need to do another Heath Shaw rule, where if Nank has already played in your fwd but there's a late out in Goldy that you can swap between the lines, but you must keep the locked out player (Nank) on field. Maybe have it via a late out eligibility rule, where it only becomes an option for coaches when a player is a late out.

Looking at 2200 even with goldy out I think, fingers crossed.

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 17:53

Interesting Rule, don't think it will happen tho.

Blaknight · 02/04/2017 at 17:48

Shaw and Simmo cheap in a few weeks hopefully

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 18:04

I have them both and Laird, bad week in defence for me with one player scoring over 100, would not have picked it to be Otten

Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 17:57

Kade Simpson, I will forgive u for your crap this week but I expect you to bounce back well and not get injured this year

    INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 18:22

Jib_Jib · 02/04/2017 at 18:00

Who else out there is thinking about downgrading Hanners to Oliver this week? I think he could be the 2017 Zerrett.

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 18:06

This is easy to say because I don't have him, but I would still be holding him

      Jib_Jib · 02/04/2017 at 18:20

If I was in your position I would tell myself the exact same thing

    Boltons Blues · 02/04/2017 at 18:54

I think Oliver and Murphy will be the Ins this week, not sure who they would trading out.

I want one of them but i dont want to ruin the structure of my forward line to get one.

      Jib_Jib · 02/04/2017 at 21:05

I wouldn't be keen on ruining structures to get one in either, but a mid for a mid is tempting.

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 20:29

Could well be. At worst you make a quick 100k and upgrade.

      Jib_Jib · 02/04/2017 at 21:04

More like $230k and an upgrade

LetsGo · 02/04/2017 at 18:17

I actually haven't watched any of the Sydney games this year but apparently hanners is carrying a niggle and has been moved to the wing, does a positional change warrant a trade? Id really like to back him in but hes leaking cash and if I were to trade him down to beams it could free up the budget and allow me to strengthen my other lines. This is a big call for my season and I'm struggling to make a decision. The seasoned supercoach side of me says hold, the greedy risk-taking side of me says trade.

    Iamme · 02/04/2017 at 18:35

With Hanners crap start to the season, even if he comes good he will struggle to be a top 10 mid by seasons end….For that reason I'm seriously thinking of downgrading him to Beams or Heppel .

      Ohalch · 02/04/2017 at 19:51

Top 10 at the end of the season doesn't really matter in regards to previous scores when you are thinking about trading. You need to think, will he be in the top 10 from now until the end of the season, regardless of his first 2 games.

        Youngster · 02/04/2017 at 20:34

Any keeper player you bring in only needs to be in the top tier for his position from this point onwards. Past games are completely irrelevant.

    JustAmug · 02/04/2017 at 19:37

Same here, was my first picked and been great for me in past years…. looking at Bont, Wines and Rocky but struggling to pull the trigger.
Main concern, without having seen all of their games, is wondering if this is a permanent role change… any comments on this from anyone??

      Kev · 02/04/2017 at 21:26

Hanna is looking totally disinterested and his team mates are not looking at him as an option in any circumstance. He's standing back and watching at ruck contests and when he is involved it seems to be a negative role similar to the role that TMitch had at swans. He's looking like losing 200k in first 6 weeks. Trade him before he pumps out another sub 60

    Tony · 02/04/2017 at 21:21

A common theme here. Most of us still can't stand watching Sydney games. LOL.

I actually watched on Friday and was initially pretty concerned with what I saw of Hanners. He hovered around the packs without getting involved, much like a timid rookie. I absolutely had him dumped at half time. He got better, but even with more of the ball, didn't score well. I'm very tempted to swap him to this year's Champion Data love-child, the Bont, and use the extra $30k on a playing rookie upgrade.

Forget Guns N Rookies or Mid-Pricer Madness – the way to win the $50k is to identify Champion Data's love children as early as possible.

CD seem big fans of Clayton Oliver

    Jib_Jib · 02/04/2017 at 22:31

My concern is if the "niggle" is actually a continuation from his GF injury. It which case it's not really a niggle but a long term injury.

Under normal circumstances I'd give him another week, but given everyone is effectively on the bubble this week it legitimises considering trading him out before prices shift.

Jimmy · 02/04/2017 at 18:26

Need a forward around the price range of 450 >

    After his game today higgins

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 19:12

    Higgins, Nank

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 20:30

Lock Higgins in. You're getting Norths best scoring mid in the fwd line at cost.

    Randomcliche2 · 02/04/2017 at 21:15

I wish people would be quiet about Shaun bloody higgins….and Nank and Steele and Roughy. The less that own them for me the better, but all good pics for mine :-p. Jib Jib has a good idea though, credit that one. He did play well against the Hawkers.

Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 18:38

Lankylands and Fyfe are delivering some mediocre shite today, hope they can lift in the last.

Tom d · 02/04/2017 at 18:42

replacement for tom j lynch???

    Shake n bake · 02/04/2017 at 18:50

Go WHE bank the coin thats what im thinking at the moment.

    Neil Demons Delight · 02/04/2017 at 20:35

      Kyle · 02/04/2017 at 22:25

Both are KPP. Both will have huge games and both will drop the occasional turds. Waste of a trade to drop lynch. He scored a ton last week and people were not happy with that…crazy…Even with this weeks 40 he is a keeper and will be top 6 by years end still imo.

Boltons Blues · 02/04/2017 at 18:56

Toranto was completely useless this week, but does he need to be corrected to WHE?
other forward rookies are Eddy, Pickett, Butler, none of which will get me WHE without making another trade

    Boltons Blues · 02/04/2017 at 18:56

That was meant to say Wasnt*

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 19:06

    read above^

      Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 19:10

sorry, didn't catch on to that lol

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 19:12

In answer to your question, you could miss out on WHE if you wait till after this week. Tarantino isn't exactly a must keep.

Vinny · 02/04/2017 at 19:00

Par score for this week?
Just going to scrape 2100

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 19:08

I would think par this week is 2200 to 2250, par to what though, staying in the same ranking or rising up the ladder a bit?

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 19:19

Depends if u mean par for the JR community or the par in general for all players

    Top hawk · 02/04/2017 at 19:33

I reckon par for the JR community will be around the 2200 mark.

Tom d · 02/04/2017 at 19:04

Who is Best up forward

WHE, Touk Miller, Elliot Yeo, Charlie Cameron, Sam Reid

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 19:12

    WHE if u consider value

    Northernsoul74 · 02/04/2017 at 19:12

That's a very wide range price wise. Not really comparing like for like. I'd say Miller of that lot.

    Danners · 02/04/2017 at 19:29

WHE, can provide a decent average and cash for now. The other's won't be as relevant in a few weeks

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 20:31

    As you've ordered

Jeremy · 02/04/2017 at 19:16

Clayton bloody Oliver. Star.

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 19:18

I have a man crush on him…gotta get him in, he's the new Bont.

Jack · 02/04/2017 at 19:18

Didn't pick Houston because everyone said he has bad JS. FFS

    Northernsoul74 · 02/04/2017 at 19:22

Do your own research. If you listen to everyone on here you just end up with a cookie cutter team. Houston will still be under threat when Pittard returns but he's making it very to be hard to be dropped.

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 19:24

That'll teach ya, don't listen to these clowns πŸ˜‰

    JustAmug · 02/04/2017 at 19:30

πŸ™ agree…. but has he? Like to get him but still not sure

    Bravis Toak · 02/04/2017 at 19:43

Jasper Pittard will definitely come back into the side and guess who is in his spot.

    Keenbutclueless · 02/04/2017 at 20:03

So I suppose every good piece of advice doesn't count? Or was every good decision completely your own doing? And only the bad decisions because you listened to the community? More likely you can't remember the good advice you took and can only remember the parts that didn't work so good for one week.

      Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 20:48

You're very passionate about this subject aren't ya Keen? πŸ™‚ I agree, think for your bloody self mate, that's what this stuff is all about, take it all in and then make up your own mind, and don't blame anyone else for your shitty score.

    Kev · 02/04/2017 at 20:52

Don't worry Jack Smurph will make just as much money and score twice as many points.

Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 19:20

Houston and PP and Legends. 92 and 82.

Defying · 02/04/2017 at 19:21

Houston on the bench McCarthy on field, serves me right. End up losing 50 points because of it…

How about those trigger happy coaches who booted him this week …. ouch!

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 19:39

They could pick him up cheap this week though.

    Wedge · 02/04/2017 at 20:36

Reckon he'll score up and down all year. So much time forward. They won't play against easy beats every week

    Jib_Jib · 02/04/2017 at 21:08

I just hope he's cheap at in rds 11-13

Tom d · 02/04/2017 at 19:28

What is better option

Downgrade Tom J. Lynch to somebody like touk miller and use the leftover cash to

A. Upgrade Pickett to WHE
B. Upgrade Tuohy to T. Adams

    Northernsoul74 · 02/04/2017 at 19:32

Reckon I'd correct Pickett to WHE if you have the cash.

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 20:33

Tuohy is fine. When looks good

    Finnius123 · 02/04/2017 at 21:26

Keep Tom J. Lynch! He will come good. WHen you bought a key position player you expected the up and downs. Don't burn trades!

    Kyle · 02/04/2017 at 22:34

Lets not forget lynch tonned up last week…KPP players are always up and down. Lynch is a keeper and will be right up there at season end.

Daniel · 02/04/2017 at 19:29

Gday community and jock, have just finished top 5 in coach kings play at home and was wondering how to claim my prize? Thanks

    John · 02/04/2017 at 19:34

They will email you mate in the next day or so. Just sit tight buddy.

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 19:38

Well done mate, I was in the top 20 for about 22 seconds lol

    The benchmark · 02/04/2017 at 19:55

I finished 11th or something and I reckon the system crashed I didn't have a captain and the players I subbed out still scored on my list. Not sure what will happen from it. I was about 450th at halftime and then traded two players. And somehow after 1min of play in the third qrt I was 2nd overall.

Don't Blush Baby · 02/04/2017 at 19:33

Cam McCarthy just outscored Z.Dawson,significant

Kev · 02/04/2017 at 19:35

Glad that I took everyone's advice and traded Pickett for Hannan. At least I didn't listen to the crowd and kept Preuss

    Russ · 02/04/2017 at 19:43

Preuss will probably just end up getting dropped for Goldy this week and you will be stuck with a guy who has a monster negative break even until round 23! πŸ™‚

      Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 19:48

I think Daw should be dropped before Preuss, although they both had decent games.

        mich · 02/04/2017 at 20:16

Preuss absolutely dominated the ruck contests,. he could miss next week due to suspension though after that flying knee

        SylvS · 02/04/2017 at 20:23

Russ in W.A, Even though Preuss had a great hitout, I dont think Daw should be dropped he played a solid match. Plus Preuss on occassions had dropped marks, clumsy kicks.
Daw is a better forward so i think he will get the nod for next week at least.

          Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 20:54

Yeah I see your point Sylvs, but Preuss keeps trying and gets a fair bit of it, Daw is still a bit raw in my opinion, that being said, Preuss might get suspended this week.

            Finnius123 · 02/04/2017 at 21:23

Daw might be out with injury aswell

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 19:44

At least Hannan had one good score, and could again next week, Pickett looks like Jeff Garlett when he was at the Blues, mostly mediocre, occassionally shining. Worst case scenario, you burned a trade for nothing…it won't be the first time mate.

    Keenbutclueless · 02/04/2017 at 20:09

what a letdown this site must be for you. Did you expect highly personalised advice that would be a short cut to the 50k? Why not appreciate this site for what it is – a group of like minded people attempting to offer a point of view that can be useful as an adjunct to your own research when trying to navigate your way through an endless series of choices.

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 20:34

Get your hand off it Ken.

      Kev · 02/04/2017 at 20:42

It's Kev mate and I fear not your slings and arrows when I comment with dissent. I would rather be an arrow ridden lion than an injury free lamb. Those in their ivory towers who hold themselves out as experts cannot bask in the glory of their successful advice if they aren't prepared to shower in the shame of their stupid advice.

        Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 20:52

He might've mis-typed Keen, Kev but very bloody eloquent mate, you missed your vocation as a Shakespearean actor :), someone find Cane, so he can keep Abel in check πŸ˜‰

        Randomcliche2 · 02/04/2017 at 21:40

The advice does yo-yo here a bit, but generally well intended. There was plenty of good advice that said wait if you can last week. Pre-rnd1 there wasn't much love for Hannan. Given he didn't play jlt there was limited recent intel. People had 1 match and that score from a rookie is pretty bloody good. Let's see how Rnd 3 goes! For what it's worth I suggested people trade both Hannebury and Cripps…win some lose some.

    Lach · 02/04/2017 at 23:46

no one said to do this trade… literally no one said it.

SPUDS · 02/04/2017 at 19:41

Thoughts on Elliot Yeo ??

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 19:51

He seems like a nice enough bloke.

    Neverweaken · 02/04/2017 at 20:03

Lots of us have been so burned by him. If he scores 120+ for the next 6 weeks then will still not touch him

    Abel · 02/04/2017 at 20:37

Dude has potential. We've all been burned, but he'll be great at some point. Biggest issue may have been use as utility. He appears to have a SC lucrative role this year. I like his chances of doing well. If I wasn't brining in Higgins and WHE I'd probably trade him in.

The Nank · 02/04/2017 at 19:51

2254 this week. Par I think?

    Top hawk · 02/04/2017 at 19:54

Good score mate! I ended up with 2205. Very relieved to walk away with a 2200+ score after all the dramas and spud efforts this week.

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 19:56

Not bad at all Fella! Probably better than par. A couple of birdies in there.

    The Nank · 02/04/2017 at 19:58

Yeah I thought I was in for a low score with some of the defenders spudding it up

    crusher · 02/04/2017 at 19:59

good score nank. 2291 this week for me.

    Randomcliche2 · 02/04/2017 at 21:42

There are few in my league 2300+ so yeah par or there abouts I guess….no west coast though

      Randomcliche2 · 02/04/2017 at 23:03

just saw it was top 5% n1. Think my league has a few weapons.

Steeeve · 02/04/2017 at 19:57

I have none of the following and want to bring two in this week, who would you prioritise?
WHE, Otten, Houston.
Brought in Hannan this week… ugh

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 20:01

    Houston, WHE, Otton

      Steeeve · 02/04/2017 at 20:43

I'm torn between Houston and Otten. Not sure who has better JS…

    Derek · 02/04/2017 at 20:14

That's odd for you to go early on Hannan.

      Steeeve · 02/04/2017 at 20:39

Normally dead against it. But had FIVE non playing rookies this week (pre Preuss and Eddy). Thought I'd better go early on one so I could correct a couple more this week.
Figured even if Hannan struggled his first round effort should have secured him a spot for a few more weeks. After round 2 I am… less sure.

    Randomcliche2 · 02/04/2017 at 21:50

I think for the price Otten. I bought him in his rookie year and it paid massive dividends, expeciting more of the same. But there is Cheney to likely come back, I've seen other commentary about lever taking his spot. Struggle to split the next two, perhaps WHE if definitely on field with no loophole.

    smote · 02/04/2017 at 23:41

Good question. Its a bit of a concern that Collingwood have to fit so many players returning from injury back into their best 22….Elliot, Greenwood, Wells, Langdon and De Goey. And in 6 days they'll most likely be 0 – 3 and the blowtorch will be on them!
    Maybe Houston. then Otten.

Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 19:59

2189 for me this week, not to shabby considering

Ablett –> 73
Laird –> 76
Shaw –> 53
Simpson –>57
JPK –> 89

Only 5/11 Premiums Toned up for my team.

    Randomcliche2 · 02/04/2017 at 21:53

Good outcome, I don't hold any of the above and was only 91 points up…something I've heard the GOAT can fix in a week!

ACE · 02/04/2017 at 20:02

Should I downgrade ryder to WHE

    Randomcliche2 · 02/04/2017 at 21:57

Ryder just played Goliath in his second game back. Until ear Lobbe gets a call stick fat I reckon. Ryder could be a keeper WHE unlikely. Just depends on if you want cash.

Tim · 02/04/2017 at 20:07

Trades saved me this week. With Roo injured I decided to risk some mid price madness and traded him and non playing rookie for S Reid and Nankervis. Could be the trade that sets up my season if they maintain form til the byes.

2311 for the round despite Shaw, Laird, Hanners all stinking it up.

I will stick with Hanners for now and hope he sorts it out or gets injured.

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 20:14

Good score but dunno about the Sam Reid choice, I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 20:14

2228 for me this week. So many shitstains, and not much went right. My 8 year old son who beat me by 10 points last week scored 2416 this week. He's made some very good picks it seems. I was using a spoon to projectile mashed potato at him at the dinner table this evening

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 20:17

Well done young pie give us all including the old man a few pointers.

      INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 23:50

He's got JJK who until the last quarter of last night was feeling key forward pain when JJK was on 20 then ripped a great last quarter & salvaged a score. He also started buddy because he loves watching him. He also went Treloar, Bont & docherty. And given he's a pie he also has Pendles & WHE & Adams. His team is good ATM. Lots better than mine

        Calloutcrap · 03/04/2017 at 05:44

I just looked at both sides who scored 2416 this week neither of them have the exact players you mentioned or are ranked 40th overall. Stop lying champ

      INPieman · 02/04/2017 at 23:10

He's ranked 40th overall. I helped with with the rookies. But I disagreed with many of his premo picks. So far he's got me covered & left me feeling stupid

TRIGGER HAPPY · 02/04/2017 at 20:19

Problem with going Guns n Rookies if one or two of your guns misfire can't expect miracles from the rooks.

One of those weeks

    Liam · 02/04/2017 at 20:30

I need to get rid of these rookies but would need to trade a premium out to do so, not gonna lie i'm considering it.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 02/04/2017 at 20:44

Weird thing is pretty happy with team just misfiring
Made a mistake probably not starting nank but will live with that.
Did start dear rooks WHE, Marchbank, Hampton, GH-S and Tarranto.
3 have worked out, Hampton? Not going too bad, Gh-s about 10-20 points short of where I thought he would be. Not getting enough TOG doesn't help.
Will trade this week probably fix my bench rooks.
Will play SPP on ground has proven can score so will trade out a mid.

        Dean · 02/04/2017 at 20:59

        What is GH-S?

          Russ · 02/04/2017 at 21:03

    Fuzzy · 02/04/2017 at 21:18

Sounds like we have very similar sides Trigger haha. Went with Gun + Rookies too and got burnt a little by Hannebery not firing and poor scores by Shaw/Neale/Greene in each week. No Nank either – I curse about that but I had a little chuckle with myself when I saw Steele's score this week. I guess that is the gamble you take on mid-pricers. Just praying my gun + rookies approach works out in the long term.

    Swans2012 · 02/04/2017 at 21:48

Stoked to top the happy place with 2330 this week, thought I was traveling ok but looks like I was going better than I thought (can't find many better). Will be interesting to see how the strategies pan out this year, I have neither of whe or march and all of nank, Higgins and Steele at f3-5 (not to mention jom and swallow at m6-7). Am considering Taranto to whe but not sure that the extra 60-80k (and 10pnts per week) whe will likely make is worth the trade. Interesting times….

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 02/04/2017 at 22:06

      Gr8 work swans
      Some astute picks there
Pie jnr got you covered 2416 if you don't mind!

        Swans2012 · 02/04/2017 at 22:46

Gee 2416 is hot this week!

      Tim · 03/04/2017 at 08:20

*$6k. And it is definitely worth it. WHE -85 BE, while Taranto's is 0. Unless WHE gets injured during the week, I am 100% doing that trade.

        Swans2012 · 03/04/2017 at 09:58

Bigger picture Tim, over the next 5 weeks whe will only make an extra 60-80k. Not enough to justify a trade on its own in my book, the extra 10-15 points a round make it a bit more worthwhile but I'm thinking it's a 50-50 call. I just know how much I'm going to wish I had one trade left at seasons end.

    The Ranger · 02/04/2017 at 21:57

I've had two of those weeks in a row Trigger!
Having my worst start to the season for years but there's not much you can do early if you find yourself behind the eight ball. Just gotta hope the premos you picked come good and back your trading skills.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 02/04/2017 at 22:05

    Tibor · 03/04/2017 at 12:04

Not a bad idea if you already have Oliver. A 124 average from a sub 400 k player looks pretty good to me, shaping up as big Max's target of choice

i just don't have the self control to play this game. I swore I wouldn't trade in the first to weeks. I said that I will finally get SP and I didn't. This coach needs a coach..

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 21:03

You'll be ok mate, one thing I've learned from playing Supercoach for 10 years is, be patient, most weeks, after the week has finished, you'll be happier you didn't trade, than have traded, especially if it's a sidewayser or questionable one.
If you act impulsively, (chase last week's big scores), you'll fail by running out of trades way before the finals, and then you're bloody stuffed!
Focus on building your Team, slowly with keepers in each line, via intelligent Rookie upgrades once the cash cows have fattened, the goal is to have a solid scoring team at the end, not the guys who smashed it last week.

      David · 03/04/2017 at 01:49

Thanks Russ, All good advice but I think I'm going to have to ask the wife to hide all my devices till round 9.

Dean · 02/04/2017 at 20:29

Granted its only 2 rounds into the season.
However Handsonberry must be carrying some injury, he isn't stretching out like his usual self, he looks like he's running on hot coals, unless he has crabs.
I am DEFINITELY trading him before he starts hemorrhaging cash.

The same can be said when Black Caviar won at Royal Ascot, she didn't stretch out at all and I just presumed that she didn't handle the wet track.
However after an examination was done by veterinarian Peter Angus it revealed that Black Caviar sustained a grade-four tear of the quadriceps and a grade-two tear of the sacroiliac during the race.

Surly "The best judge of horse flesh since Cummings" Can confirm this and what is your opinion Sir Jock Reynolds, Re: Is it a silly trade or NOT – To trade out Handsonberry to either BONT or maybe Wines or whoever the individual likes.

I'm strongly considering trading Handsonberrys to Wines and Picket to WHE.

    Top hawk · 02/04/2017 at 21:14

I agree. Hannebery has to go.

Dont have the bloke, but I have a similar liability in Aaron Hall. My gut tells me that Hall is in a "basket case" team and he is on my cull list this week. When players like Ablett play like "they do not want to be there" it starts to rub off on other players within the team.
Sydney seem to be in the same boat. Not winning games (0-2) with their other core midfielders not performing either. (Parker, JPK)

It is time to get tough, throw sentimentalism out the window, and start picking "up and comers" in "up and coming" sides. Welcome.

      Finnius123 · 02/04/2017 at 21:22

I agree to some extent, but you just have to be careful. It cannot be understated how important trades are later in the season. You need at least 18 to get to full premo in most sides! That leaves room for a couple of corrective rookie selections and then 7 or 8 for injury/massive form drop. You just have to super careful not to waste them early in the season. You can make a few corrective trades I probably think thank Hannebery and GAJ have to go, all I am saying is watch out! If you want to win the pot you have to be ruthless, just be 100% sure you aren't gonna get burned.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 02/04/2017 at 21:24

      Watched both games Hawk
Both players scouting pack looking for easy ball, real shame showed up in their performance and score.
One thought was to go Hannas to gain, or Hannas to who looked 100% committed and ready to rock and roll will defiantly have a play this week and see what trades r best.

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 20:58

Giday Bont, what your trades are this week is up to you mate, that's the fun of the game and the challenging part of it..asking others what to do constantly won't increase your enjoyment in the end…trust your gut and go with that. Your team looks solid enough, maybe you don't need to trade at all, but that's your call.

    Holty · 02/04/2017 at 20:58

Ended up swapping hannan for pickett to allow me to bring in WHE and Smurph next week. I will however need to get rid of GAJ or Cripps. I think Cripps looked better this week and GAJ just doesnt look like himself.

Kev · 02/04/2017 at 21:00

GAJ to Smurph. Hanna to Dusty this week and next week Hibberd to McReadie. With the loss of StNick and not starting steele/Billings/Dunstan/Hickey or Steven I have plenty of room for the round 11 bye. I might even drop Zjones for Ploughman if he continues.
How come all these carlton players flew under the radar?

    Finnius123 · 02/04/2017 at 21:07

Too many trades! I can understand getting rid of bald jesus/hannebery, but surely you have to back one of the two. DOn't waste a trade on dropping Zak Jones as well, he will be just as good a cash cow as Plowman if not better. Don't burn out so early in the season

      Kev · 02/04/2017 at 21:22

Thanks for your advice Finnius but trading is the bit that I like most about supercoach and apart from that Gary isn't worth 620k and Murphy is worth a lot more than 432k factoring Gary's drop and Murphs rise it'll probably be a 500k win in first week. Hanna is looking totally disinterested and his team mates are not looking at him as an option in any circumstance looking at losing 200k in first 6 weeks. Hibberd is a dpp bench spud who might play 8 games depending on team injury but mcreadie is a bench rookie who looks like he'll play every game until injured.

        Finnius123 · 02/04/2017 at 21:35

No worries Kev we all have our different strategies and you present some good reasoning. All I am saying is be careful.

On a side not I wouldn't be super keen on Mcreadie, for Hibbo I am waiting a week and picking up Newman just before he hits his bubble. Mcreadie is playing more of a key position role and isn't gonna score that well, whilst HORSE was very happy with his younguns and I think Newman looks the goods.

Whatever floats your boat. Good luck mate!

          Kev · 02/04/2017 at 21:43

Fair call on Mcreadie SC relevance but he looks like he'll be a longtime player. I'll probably trade Hibberd for JJ using the cash from the Hanna to WHE trade

            Finnius123 · 02/04/2017 at 21:47

I like that option. Fix up all of your structural issues now rather than later (you probably went one rookie too deep in the backline/ like pretty much everyone else). If you could I would try and get WHE in the forward line through a bit of DPP switcharoos, as it is there we need our best scorers.

    ... · 02/04/2017 at 21:48

    Dan2 · 02/04/2017 at 22:42

Keep in mind Murphy hasn't averaged 110+ in a 5 years and has only done it once, 2 great scores early but personally couldn't be confident he'll be top 10 mids.

    Lach · 02/04/2017 at 22:51

    bad bad trades my friend.

Finnius123 · 02/04/2017 at 21:18

2304 this week. Pretty happy with that. Am concerned with Roughies ceiling this year, as well as Steele's TOG this week. Am obviously going to keep them both in because I can't afford the trades, but hopefully they can both appreciate 100-150k before round 11/13 respectively so I can get rid of them. Not backing either as keepers, but have helped me somewhat out of the rookie carnage.

Brought in Hannan prematurely this week at the last minute as I saw eddy was out. Luckily didn't have him on field but seriously poor trade from me.

Am looking to bring in Witts next week, but I don't know who for. Witts has probably some of the best JS out of all of the rookies and has been scoring beautifully, I just can't seem to find a spot to fit him in!

May not trade at all this week pending rookie selections. Am happy keeping Hibbo Jr this week as there are no defensive rookies that I want apart from Newman, and he won't hit the bubble till next week so there is no harm in having another look at him. Hopefully pickett, parfitt and barrett keep getting selected!

    Dean · 02/04/2017 at 21:39

Witts is NOT a rookie, he started playing at AFL level in 2013 mate.

      Finnius · 02/04/2017 at 21:41

I know that mate. By rookie I mean < 250k

    Juzzy · 02/04/2017 at 22:17

Excellent score for week two Finnius.
Agree with you on Witts. Personally I can't vindicate the 2 trades it would cost to fit him into my side but hope you can find a way.
Hope the last 3 keep getting a game too.

Hope that if Pickett gets another game he hits his BE πŸ™‚
    Good Luck.

Could be a lot less. They were saying rd 4 a few days ago. But glandular sucks (I got it last year). You are very lethargic and can be down and out for the count for a whole year if you don't get past it. Would play it by ear at this stage, but I definitely would not be looking at trading him in ATM if that's what you are thinking!

If Port keep playing like this, I'll have to get one of their mids. I can't let all those juicy points go unharvested

The Bont · 02/04/2017 at 21:36

How do you know when a rookie as reached his ceiling and its time to trade him?

    Russ in W.A · 02/04/2017 at 21:43

When he has made a substantial amount of profit eg $150,000 and their break even score rises to a point where if they don't achieve it, they'll start losing money. That is the window for trading out.

      Finnius123 · 02/04/2017 at 21:48

Alternatively you could jump in early and try and get to full premo ASAP. That's how last year's winner did it!

    The Ranger · 02/04/2017 at 21:49

There's no hard and fast rule Bont but take a look at their breakeven and decide if you think they can make it.
Generally you want to try and get 100-150k from them at least.

    Top hawk · 02/04/2017 at 21:51

OK that is an easy one.

It is all about "Break even" point scoring vs "Break even" $ cash generation.

When a rookie "rises" to a price which exceeds his scoring output, it is time to upgrade to either a fallen premium player or an up and coming premo. Welcome.

    Kev · 02/04/2017 at 21:51

When his price stops going up and you can use him to get a premo

    The Bont · 02/04/2017 at 21:55

so essentially downgrade him to an up and coming rookie and upgrade another rookie that is at there maximum to a premo playet

      Top hawk · 02/04/2017 at 21:58

That might work! Good luck mate

    Juzzy · 02/04/2017 at 22:08

A general rule of thumb is that a rookie has reached his ceiling when his BE exceeds his weekly average.

Remember though that prices change on a rolling 3 week cycle. Rookies can jump immensely in price with one or two big games.

    Youngy · 02/04/2017 at 22:40

When a rookies breakeven starts to get into the high positives its time to move them on for the most part

      Tim · 03/04/2017 at 08:28

So when a rookie has a BE of 1, you would really move them on?

      Tim · 03/04/2017 at 08:29

Mi scusi Young, 'high positives'. I misread that.

Josh · 02/04/2017 at 22:34

Please talk me out of making the sideways trade of Sandilands to the Nank. Im seriously considering it.

    Finnius · 02/04/2017 at 22:39

Just don't. Find another way to get the nank in your side.

    Lach · 02/04/2017 at 23:05

Why would even think bout doing that.. just put nank in fwd line.

    Randomcliche2 · 02/04/2017 at 23:15

    Find a spud, not cedar!

    Tibor · 03/04/2017 at 12:14

Just cool ya jets, Sandi not real great this week but will be just fine and will make you money. SAve the trade your sure to need it for something more pressing later. Let Sandi make you some coin before he breaks down then trade him for Nank or someone who by that stage looks even better. Good start by the Nank but once again take a big breath cool your jets and see if he can maintain it

Finnius · 02/04/2017 at 22:42

What are everyones thoughts on Roughhead? For me he just looks lethargic and has a lot lower ceiling than he one did. Don't really want to get rid of him but am considering swinging nank forward and picking witts in the ruck and banking the cash for a later date.

Really want to know everyones opinion on this, because a lot of people are saying that he is a lock and must have/keep. I don't want to burn a trade on getting rid of someone who could be a top 8 forward, but he just isn't looking the goods at the moment.

    SCaddict · 02/04/2017 at 22:53

I'm holding for now Finnius. Could slot a few against the Suns next weekend. He missed a couple of goals and contested grabs he'd ordinarily make and still scored 82.

My chief concern is with the Hawks as a whole and playing mainly forward he may not get the same quality and quantity of supply he's been used to. He's still outperforming his price so will wait another week or two before I'll be thinking of moving him on. That said I do already have both Higgins and WHE who would be the only players I'd be trading him to, if I was going to pull the trigger this week.

      Finnius123 · 03/04/2017 at 08:36

Yeah cheers addict. I have pretty much convinced myself into doing it. I feel that Witts and Roughy will both average around the 90 mark, and the cash that I will generate (around 300k including the beneficiary of downgrading him), is too hard to overlook. It also allows me to bring Nankdaddy into the forward line, and that gives me a rookie swing with strndica if I need it, because if one of my emergency forwards plays well I can just chuck witts on the bench. I think that it is worth a trade and allows me to have gawn as an upgrade target with a rookie in there.

I can understand your reasoning to hold, but for me his ceiling isn't as high as Witts. I was just watching the game on the weekend and he looked a touch behind the pace. He will probably get better as the season goes on but I want more than a slowly improving forward, I picked him with the mindset that he would be a top 8 forward and that isn't looking likely. His projected cash rise is only 9k for this round, and whilst this isn't losing money, I feel like a slow appreciation isn't gonna win me the fitty fousand. Last year's winner did a similar thing before round three last year and cut barlow for a midpricer, freeing up 200k for the next couple of rounds. I think I will follow that, because 200k allows me to go straight from a rookie to a premo if I play it well enough.

        SCaddict · 03/04/2017 at 10:05

Yeah Witts is another one of the very few guys I'd be trading Roughie to this week so would support that move as Nank really belongs in the forward line anyway as he is looking like being a season long FWD keeper.

Fortunately I already have him as well starting with a Sandiwitts set-up so will be sitting tight on Roughie. But those with Roughie and missing at least one of WHE/Witts/Higgins would have a good case for pulling that trigger this week before the price hikes.

    Boltons Blues · 02/04/2017 at 23:15

The bloke has just come back from fighting cancer, give him a few more weeks to decide what youre going to do with him, at this rate he wont lose you any money but wont make alot on the other hand aswell. Has the suns and my blues coming up, can go large against both sides

      Finnius123 · 03/04/2017 at 08:36

Yeah cheers, I just don't feel as if he has a high enough ceiling this year. Check my reply above for my full reasoning.

    Randomcliche2 · 03/04/2017 at 00:52

I think Witts but not WHE is better than Roughy. Whether its worth the trade? Close call. You are going to swing Nank forward at some point, Witts is great to have if you can fit on field. I think Witts scores more and makes more cash. Just know you are cashing him out by rnd 8 or brining in another ruck as well, and having him as cover for the byes (which I prefer). Thus there is merit in your thoughts, esp the bye planning. Strongly consider. (That said with no DPP swing, I'll be holding Rough in my Fwd line). #Gawndilands

      Finnius123 · 03/04/2017 at 08:37

Yeah you are convincing me to make the trade Cliche! check above for my full reasoning.

    Derek · 03/04/2017 at 09:45

We talked about Roughie preseason and said exactly this. He will start slow but have a good finish.

    Rob · 03/04/2017 at 12:36

A couple of years ago I started with Beams in my forward line despite his interrupted preseason. After scoring 60 odd for the first 2 weeks I sideways traded him to boomer. I think he ended up being the best performing mid that year.

    Just some food for thought

DONT even think twice about trading Taranto for WHE or even Witts for that matter, do whatever suits your team structure the best.

    Defying · 03/04/2017 at 00:05

I wouldn't trade Taranto until he gets dropped, he got 75 which is reasonable and will continue to improve. However if you have McCarthy or Pickett or maybe even Partfitt flick them off in an instant.

Treloar has gone large in terms of possessions but is not getting live from the SC scorers. If that's the new reality perhaps a fallen prem may free up some cash and enable corrective trades.

    Rick Grimes · 03/04/2017 at 07:21

Oliver is tempting. Question, is he a keeper or a stepping stone? Comes down to structures.

Personally im gonna ride the Hanners train another week. More out of necessity. Surrly he comes right… Surely. But the stains are getting harder to remove.

      mark · 03/04/2017 at 08:22

Ive watched both sydney games he looks hopeless. Im getting rid of him while he is still high in price.

Rick Grimes · 03/04/2017 at 07:17

I cocked up and bought in Hannan for Eddy. I never planned to, was going to dump Hibberd instead but missed the cutoff. Knowing I'd need a couple trades this week I felt I had to pull the trigger early. This SC lark can be a real ball crusher sometimes.

I'm thinking I'll get the Bont in this week. Seems to rack up a lot of points even if the game doesn't flow his way. It would be from St Nick funds.

My strategy will be to get full premo in mids early doors and then work the other lines. Will have most of the key rookies (Marchbank, Otten, Stewart, Hampton, Witts, WHE, Barrett, Butler, Hannan, Taranto). That's the plan at least.

Apologies if Bont goes just this weekend. I seem to have that effect on form players.

Clearly Suns need him in the guts.

1) Trade to Who?
2) Hold & Pray?

    Northernsoul74 · 03/04/2017 at 08:07

They said all pre season he'd play much more forward. Can't tell you who to trade to as no idea who you already have.

      Finnius123 · 03/04/2017 at 08:22

Get rid of him. Look at bringing in Zerrett as a POD or the Bont

    Rick Grimes · 03/04/2017 at 09:04

I watched a fair bit of that game. Gaz was totally disinterest for most of the first half but when he did get involved was all class. The Suns and particular Gaz will cop a lot of heat this week. Surely a player of his pedigree will respond with a big game. And surely he'll need to be used in the guts more. I'm not an owner so could not say for sure I'd hold. But I wouldn't mind owning him this weekend.

      INPieman · 03/04/2017 at 10:34

I agree Rick. I watched the game & Gary seriously looked disinterested & had conceded defeat before walking onto the field. He's already getting bashed this week. I smell a masterclass coming up. I'm holding him & backing a champion

Tommo09 · 03/04/2017 at 07:48

Is WHE a must?
I will need to get 60 odd k from somewhere to get him
Have 43k left and my most expensive rook in fwd line is butler
Could go Rough to WHE or Omeara to WHE (via swing)

Not sure if WHE will going or average 70-80 from now on?

    Northernsoul74 · 03/04/2017 at 08:05

I don't have enough spare so I'll pass on WHE.

      Finnius123 · 03/04/2017 at 08:21

Could drop roughy. It isn't the worst idea. You will free up 150k and WHE will appreciate price far quicker, whilst holding around the same average. For one trade you are probably generating 350k, so it is up to you whether you think that is worth it. You also have to decide whether you think roughy will be a keeper or not. If not then I reckon give him the flick. He hasn't shown enough to display a high ceiling, and I reckon he will leave you floundering with a 350k forward at his current pace (may prove me wrong though)

    Iamme · 03/04/2017 at 08:47

With the return of Jamie Elliott, I think WHE may well drop off a little….so for that reason I think I'll pass.

    Derek · 03/04/2017 at 09:00

I'd say good luck to those who started with him but anyone thinking of getting him now are chasing points. Too expensive to make a lot of cash.

With St Nick still on the bench.

Cold_Case · 03/04/2017 at 08:16

Thinking of Hickey to Witts – Then Pickett to Murphy. Means my midfield is Danger, Fyfe, TMitch, MCrouch, Murphy, Beams, Treloar and O'Meara . SPP will be on the bench. I think i have enough rookies, still got Hibberd though. Am i better off upgrading Hibberd to have 4 premos in my backline?

    Finnius123 · 03/04/2017 at 08:19

Yeah I would definitely keep SPP on field. Try getting a forward/defensive premo instead. I think Hickey to witts is a good idea, cut your losses with the muppet. He drew us all in preseason and then will hold a 75 when the real stuff starts.

      Cold_Case · 03/04/2017 at 08:23

Thanks Finnius, Probably gaining points with the Hickey Trade. Now I've gotta decide which back to bring in, might hold that trade till a few prices drop.

        Finnius123 · 03/04/2017 at 08:28

I would try and jump on them immediately if you can afford it, because you don't want to be slipping points early. If you have no spare cash afterwards then dw, but if you still have 30k or so left over then pull the trigger. As a cheaper option I would recommend Jeremy Howe. The bloke is the absolute king of intercept marks (greater than or equal to rance in my opinion), and would be a great backline POD

          Cold_Case · 03/04/2017 at 08:32

Alright,I'll go shopping. Already got Howe, he is a gun!

            Finnius123 · 03/04/2017 at 09:02

He got scaled from a 60 odd fantasy to a 90 supercoach – He is a supercoach king because of the way he plays. Maybe try JJ as a backman – but there are a few good option so you decide.

            Good Luck!

Iamme · 03/04/2017 at 08:32

Hannerberry expected to drop 77,500K next round…I think I'll have a punt on Oliver.

    Derek · 03/04/2017 at 09:38

      Agree with Derek

      Tibor · 03/04/2017 at 14:33

If your trading a keeper for form rather than injury you've chucked that strategy away anyway

Tim · 03/04/2017 at 08:39

Community, I've had a reasonable start. Currently ranked in the 1300s. Definitely trading Taranto to WHE, but I am also thinking of trading Steele out for Oliver. Not so much because of his score (he scored 50 odd in the second half), but I was watching the game and was surprised at how few centre square bounces he attended. Only three in the first half. Just think he is further down Richo's pecking order than I first thought. Oliver is going bananas. Don't have enough money for Higgins or Smurph. Is this a sound trade or just chasing points?

    Derek · 03/04/2017 at 09:05

Why are you trading Taranto to WHE? Is it for the cash increase? Have you actually calculated how much cash he will make before you then trade him and compare that to what Taranto will increase in cash. You may even hold Taranto an extra week, oh well.

Do the maths (I have) and you will calculate what the extra trade will cost you.

      Derek · 03/04/2017 at 09:06

I mean what the extra trade will make you in cash.

        wenurpizarolsrdone · 03/04/2017 at 10:07

If Taranto this week only gets a 44 he will only go up 16k is that really worth saving a trade? When you can get someone like hoskin Elliot who will make tons more cash than Taranto

          Derek · 03/04/2017 at 12:26

exactly how much is a ton of cash?

lets say WHE has 3 more 85's follwoing his 120, by week 5 he should have gone up $195k. nice

Lets say TT has 65's over the next 3 weeks, by round 5 he should have gone up $92k.

So the trade will make you $103k plus 60pts. Not bad…….

TT would not be ready to trade, hold him for another week at 65, will squeeze another $30k out.

That all depends on WHE scoring 85's and TT scoring 65's.

its a close call….but all depends on if TT keeps getting a game.

            Tim · 03/04/2017 at 13:48

It's a good point Derek. Do you think speed of price accumulation comes into it at all? Using your example, if WHE is able to make the jump to $400k two to three weeks quicker than TT is able to make it to $330k, does that come into the decision? I think it probably does, although it is not decisive, as it means you will be able to upgrade WHE to a premo quicker. It might mean two to three weeks of premo scoring against TT's. I agree it is a tricky one though and good cases can be made for either decision.

              Derek · 03/04/2017 at 14:08

very good point. Getting to full premium quick should be a priority this year.

As a result I'll be culling earlier than I usually do. Instead of milking every cent.

    Finnius123 · 03/04/2017 at 09:06

Probably chasing points to an extent. Whilst Oliver is a gun they will both appreciate price at relatively similar speeds. Also Oliver is in your midfield and if getting him means having SPP on the bench then I would recommend against it. Steele in the forward line is a huge bonus, and I seriously reckon the guy can average 95+ this year. He tackles hard and gets plenty of contested possessions, so he doesnt need that much TOG to get a good score. You just have to toss up how much a trade is worth to you. Oliver will probably average 5-10 more than steele but costs 60k more. Also if it means having SPP on the bench and a dud forward rookie on the field, you are probably losing points each round. Don't go changing your structure too much now unless there is something drastic that needs changing. I personally am going to hold onto Steele because of these reasons.

    Lach · 03/04/2017 at 09:29

Pretty silly trades.. not much upside at all.

    INPieman · 03/04/2017 at 09:53

If TT get's dropped I'd consider that trade. But that would be the only reason. If you really want WHE find another way. TT has a BE of 0 anyway & if he plays he going up in price. And don't expect huge scores from WHE every week. I've got a feeling the 120 is a sucker punch. He'd be doing well to Av 80

      Tim · 03/04/2017 at 10:44

Cheers community, appreciate the advice. Think I will keep Steele. Going to think about the Hyphen more. The way I see it, there is $6k between them and a difference of 85 when it comes to BE. If they both score the same this week, WHE makes $40k more with a 120 still in his cycle. I only got Taranto at the last minute when Swallow was a late out. Reckon WHE could get close to $400k reasonably quickly, whereas TT could struggle to get past $300k. I know it's another trade to get rid of WHE later, but that's what corrective trades are for, aren't they? Anyway, food for thought, so thanks.

        Tim · 03/04/2017 at 10:46

P.s. Don't have the cash to get WHE in another way. It's TT or nothing.

      Dildor · 03/04/2017 at 09:49

Was curious about this, it seemed like eddy was the one theyre looking to use to make way, how do you think houston and eddys JS compared with picket or taranto?

        The Nank · 03/04/2017 at 10:07

I dont like the chances of any holding there spot for too long. I decided this week to go Tarranto & Hibberd to Housten & MCgrath. I feel Mcgrath has better JS than Torranto

          Dildor · 03/04/2017 at 10:13

Trade seems a bit premature considering no teams have been announced and McGrath will be heavily managed this year

            The Nank · 03/04/2017 at 10:35

Yeah all depending on teams come Thursday but Hibberd needs to go and yes he will be managed but plan on swinging him to midfield as cover and bringing in someone like Newman if he performs well again for the likes of Picket in the next week or 2

murray · 03/04/2017 at 09:23

Hello Community
I have hickey as R2 besides Sandilands, and I kept Hickey to see how he would go after his dismal 44 in R1 (he nearly got the chop then but I listened to you all who said give him another week).

Even though he nearly got the ton in R2 I still dont think he is viable longterm. With the 85K spare cash, should I trade him to a Gawn and downgrade Roughy to WHE or go to someone like Witts and upgrade a 123k rookie to Oliver or Higgins or Murphy. Thoughts please

    JonathonBrown · 03/04/2017 at 09:58

im moving nankrevis into the ruck to lose the cover in the ruck in case sandilands goes down ad trading hickey to a fwd premo, not sure who yet

      murray · 03/04/2017 at 10:29

      Hi JB
that is another option I have, trade Hicky, brink Nank into the ruck and spend 534K on a premo fwd or midfielder. Who would you consider for that price?

    Keenbutclueless · 03/04/2017 at 10:01

By selecting Roughy and Hickey you got two mid pricers who were both a chance to be season's keepers. If you don't think they can now, then ask yourself whether you are better off bringing in two more mid pricers and still be in the same place, or take one genuine keeper and a cash cow. Personally I think if you take two more mid pricers you might be lucky to get one keeper. It would be a big ask to get two. I would suggest Gawn and WHE.

      murray · 03/04/2017 at 10:44

thanks for your reply, I think Roughy is one who could be a keeper, He has started slowly (as expected) but will build and I think he could become a top 10 fwd. Hickey is not certain to be premo ruck so of the two I would be more inclined to trade Hickey over Roughy. I believe that what you say is correct that taking a premo keeper and a cash cow is preferable to taking 2 mid pricers. You would only be wasting trades because these mid pricers would need upgrading later into the season

    The Ranger · 03/04/2017 at 10:08

Are they really the most important players to be looking at this week Murray?
This round is generally for correcting your rookie selections so that you ensure the most cash generation possible.
Unless you're absolutely certain you have all the best rookies I wouldn't be moving on premos or midpricers yet.

    Randomcliche2 · 03/04/2017 at 11:08

after rookie corrections….Hickey to Witts. Hold the cash for an early upgrade….strategy change, but similar point gen. Or buy Higgins with DPP swing…aka like for like… both valid, I think I'd go option 2. Check how your bye round rucks would look under any scenario though.

      murray · 03/04/2017 at 11:18

Hi JBHi R2, dont have many rookie correction trades to make, my rookies are T Stewart, Hampton, Otten, Hibberd, SPP, Barrett, Parfitt, Pickett, Mountford, Hannan, Houston and Eddy. The only ones I might think of ridding is Hibberd, mountford and Pickett. I am prepared to wait a week or two to do any culling, I want to fix the ruck division first

        Randomcliche2 · 03/04/2017 at 11:52

        Looking good, Hicky to Witts
HIbb jnr to WHE (or Butler) via DPP if possible

          murray · 03/04/2017 at 12:39

Hi R2 sorry, have butler also. What you suggest would also give me about 250k of spare cash for future

            Randomcliche2 · 03/04/2017 at 14:38

Yep, normally I would say back him in, Hickey so you've made the call he is out, ideally bring in another like for like, but its rookie correction week so jam the rookies in and spend that cash asap on another premium I'd think by rnd 5 WHE+200k = any premo, lets see if Otten can go large again, perhaps even Witts to Gawn. Who knows. I see trades going up in smoke, but that is what they are for. Bang Bang smoke rising. If ya want to save a trade, I think Hicky to Hibb snr, or perhaps Heppell/Murphy/Oliver/Jom for gamble, but its prolly at least 100k value less, which is getting close to the value of trade….so I still think its pretty line ball between the two options.

Jimmy · 03/04/2017 at 09:40

Sort od depends on what you're after. If you're looking for a top 8-10 Mid then I don't think Murphy will finish there. I think beams has a higher ceiling if his body holds up but at the very least will make you a nice amount of cash to then upgrade to a top 8 promo. Beams for me

I need help community!

Hanners has produced pure shitness in the 1st two rounds.( (get back in the gas & write off a car)

Do I hold fast & back him in as the premo he has been the past two yrs or trade him out?

If I trade him, who for? (Already have: Danger, Treloar, Bont, Fyfe, Beams, JOM, SPP)

Thinking about: Pendles, JPK, Dusty, T. Adams (due to def/mid), Murphy, Oliver

Other trade will be Mitch Hibberd for WHE, switching Pickett to mids.

I need some suggestions & thoughts on this early season predicament!

    jwill2bong · 03/04/2017 at 10:02

im really liking oliver, might be a good move to get him cheap if you do want to move Hanners on.

    Randomcliche2 · 03/04/2017 at 11:15

I wanted a Mid last week, or Adams. Similar list to you, chose Pendles. Wish I'd chosen Adams, but hey def rookies are coming good, mids are not. Pendles should outscore the lot. I sleep soundly though with pendles as part of my awesome 4some with danger, fyfe and rocky.

The Ranger · 03/04/2017 at 10:04

Ah…I do love rage trading on a Monday morning!
Hanners has been traded five times so far, Lynch and Simmo have both been kicked out too, I'm not seriously considering trading any of them but it makes me feel slightly better.
Simpkin and Hibberd OUT Houston and Otten IN are the two corrective rookie trades that I might make this week (not going near WHE), both have nice juicy breakevens but I'm still not convinced of the JS of either.
Can anyone convince me either way?

    SCaddict · 03/04/2017 at 10:23

I'd trade Otten into my side in a heartbeat Ranger. After his stellar performance on the weekend I think he has solidified a spot in the Crows side for the foreseeable future even with Lever lurking out there. Jake Kelly is probably on the chopping block before Otts anyway. I think most of us have had our doubts about his JS through the preseason although everything we heard from the Crows camp was how much they were excited about having him back and fit for a long time.

Anyway he is looking like such a juicy cow with that ton riding in his pricing for the next 2 weeks that you really don't want to miss out and may just have to take the slight risk of it not working out as the upside is too large to ignore.

Houston I'm perhaps a little more concerned about his short term JS with Pittard about to return from that hammy. Still like Otten he is not giving Hinkley any reason to boot him and if he can hold his spot will very likely generate the $150-200K we are all seeking from our rookies.

Not sure what your reservations are on WHE but you are not obviously seeing what I'm seeing there. Both he and Witts are looking the best performing cash cows this season imho. In fact that confident I was on WHE after witnessing his Rd1 performance and role I actually pulled the trigger on him last week and was immediately rewarded.

      The Ranger · 03/04/2017 at 11:12

Thanks SC, Otten certainly looks pretty solid eh? Hibberd – Otten seems a no brainer.
I'm a big fan of WHE as a player but from what I've seen he plays a very outside game and I don't think he'll be cracking out SC tons regularly. Also, the only way I can get him would be to sideways Taranto and I can't see much upside in that.
I think I'll be mulling over the Houston trade all week…

        SCaddict · 03/04/2017 at 11:28

Fair enough Ranger. We all have different perspectives on these things and no one really knows the right answers in all situations although sometimes we like to think we do ha ha.

It's a risk v reward caper and hindsight is always 20/20 in this game so your instincts are always an important consideration especially if they have served you fairly well in the past.

      Derek · 03/04/2017 at 11:32

i think that will be my first trade. Smith >> Otten

TEM · 03/04/2017 at 10:08

is it worth spending 90k to upgrade mountford to WHE, or should i get houston instead?

already trading joel smith to otten

    SCaddict · 03/04/2017 at 10:32

I'd get on WHE myself out of those two. JS is rock solid especially after being one of the Pies best players last week. Houston could also be one of the better cows this season as well but perhaps doesn't have quite the iron clad JS as WHE although he's given Hinkley no reason to drop him so far.

      Randomcliche2 · 03/04/2017 at 11:24

As a WHE fan do you reckon about the following corrections (131k in bank) assuming Hibb/Mount not named (no reason for recall)
      1. Hibb/Smith to March + Mount to Houston/Hannan
      2. Picket to WHE + Mount to Houston/Hannan (which would involve running SPP on the bench and swinging Dahl/Steele to the mids).
I'm leaning towards option 1, with Houston.

        SCaddict · 03/04/2017 at 12:00

I'd probably go option 1 too only because it's so nice to have Marchy holding down the fort at say D4. Has shown to be an extremely reliable rookie defender both throughout the JLT and the first few rounds of the season proper. Houston may end up matching WHE in the cash generation stakes given their relative pricing so should be a reasonable compromise to make. JS may be the only issue with Pittard to return shortly although Hannan would have some queries in that space too.

You would also be keeping another playing rookie in Pickett around even if he has been spudding it up so far, so that's another pro for option 1 RC2.

          Randomcliche2 · 03/04/2017 at 14:42

Hibberd not good for a loophole mate, to many Friday/Saturday games. Smith, despite the absence of DPP is actually a better loophole option. Trade Hibb jnr if not named for a named Hannan, via DPPs if possible. Cheers

Mitchell · 03/04/2017 at 10:19

what's everyones thoughts on Taranto out WHE in?
Haven't used a trade yet and have cash in the bank. Obviously ideally want to hold off from any trading but with a much juicier breakeven and most likely more job security long term is Will too good to miss out on?

Dildor · 03/04/2017 at 10:19

So in terms of rookies i currently have the spuds in Hibberd, Parfitt, Cameron, Pickett and Taranto, on the other hand i have Otten, Marchbank, Butler, WHE, and Hannan.

I can't decipher if its necessary to move on one or two of the spuds and improve my cash gen or just sit and save trades.

Is it a risk to trade or is it a risk to sit and do nothing?

    The Ranger · 03/04/2017 at 10:23

Cash generation is absolutely key Dildor so if Hibberd isn't named then you have to move him on.
The others could stay if named but personally I nearly always make two corrective trades this round to try and get on the rookies that are going to go up in price the most and who hopefully also have good JS.

    Youngy · 03/04/2017 at 11:17

If there playing keep them. If they are not playing probably move them on to a better rookie

Ill probably end up giving Mountford and Smith the flick this week for better rookies

James · 03/04/2017 at 10:28

I think it might take a few weeks for us all to get our rookie set up going this year. Doesn't seem to be many solid options and we might need to hold on to guys like picket, barret and parfitt until better options come along. As long as they are not loosing cash they might make small amounts until we see more cash cows coming along.

These are the rookies I see at the moment worth considering

SPP – a must have and im sure most teams already have him
Butler – I think is a must have – Will generate some cash for us and think JS is fairly good atm
Hannan – Let us down this week and alot had traded him in – if he can maintain his spot worth considering
Otten – must have – JS a little concern for me long term but hopefully can hold his spot long enough to make some cash
Housten – seems solid but JS is an issue
WHE – might be worth bringing in if you have the cash but I wouldnt be making downgrade trades for this guy
McGrath – might not make a heap of cash but JS seems decent

    James · 03/04/2017 at 10:31

Also think Preuss and Witts are good back up options to make some cash

    Randomcliche2 · 03/04/2017 at 10:54

Extra bubble boys for Smith replacements if you don't have them (widely owned, circa 40%) Stewart, Hampton, Marchy and failing that wait a week for Newman.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 03/04/2017 at 11:05

      Waiting for Newman
Gr8 thing is swans play On Friday night so get another look at him before his price goes up.
Smith – Newman be popular Rd 4 that's what I am looking at but have another look before pulling the trigger

    Derek · 03/04/2017 at 11:30

Miles had a decent game i thought.

      Derek · 03/04/2017 at 13:37

birchell to miss 4 weeks. Good JS

John · 03/04/2017 at 10:29

Is Tom J. Lynch worth keeping for another round because his is price is projected to drop 30k

    crusher · 03/04/2017 at 10:38

if you think he will be a top fwd come years end then hold. Price drop wont make a difference unless you think he is not a keeper

    SCaddict · 03/04/2017 at 10:46

Suns do look like they will be a rabble this season so opportunities to score in their forward line may be restricted if they are going to get belted most weeks. But then again they were a rabble last year and he still managed to score very well. So I think the "hold your under performing premos" principle applies in this case as painful as that may be right now.

However if I was going to trade him then it would only be out of WHE or Witts (via DPP) or maybe Higgins who looks like he will be playing mainly through the guts this season.

crusher · 03/04/2017 at 10:42

housten or Hannon. I can only bring in one with my team structure

    Youngy · 03/04/2017 at 11:18

    Houston Definetly

    Northernsoul74 · 03/04/2017 at 11:26

    See whether they're named Thursday.

Doc · 03/04/2017 at 10:53

Who is the best downgrade option for hanners?
– Oliver, heppel or Murphy.

    Dildor · 03/04/2017 at 10:58

Can i suggest a premo to premo trade rather than a downgrade. Stick with your structures.

    Youngy · 03/04/2017 at 11:20

Agree with Dildor, unless u don't have cash and are looking to bring in Witts or WHE. If I had to choose one of those 3 probably Heppel

    Tibor · 03/04/2017 at 13:22

    Heppell if you're cashed up

Oliver if you want to save a dollar and get a genuine up and comer

Murphy if you want to convince people your stupid

Travo · 03/04/2017 at 10:59

Looking to trade out Hanners and J.Pickett…

Should I bring in Murphy and WHE or Bont/Dusty and Butler?

    crusher · 03/04/2017 at 11:09

    dusty and buttler

FEARTHEBEARD · 03/04/2017 at 11:29

Fox & WHE IN – Pickett & Parfitt out?

Only way I can get WHE without ditching Tarranto.

    SCaddict · 03/04/2017 at 11:39

You should really try and wait for Fox to appear on the bubble i.e. play two games first. The Swans could have a few players coming back from injury/illness in the next fortnight or thereabouts so you really want to make sure Fox plays his 3rd game before committing to that trade, especially if Parfitt and Pickett continue to play this weekend. If either one of them pumps out a 70 or 80 this weekend it could really change how we think about them.

There were some coaches who upgraded Otten last week because they feared they were too weak in their backline. Now suddenly he's a must have after his huge ton so point being plenty can change in a week in the Supercoach business particularly with our rookies. We also saw what happened to coaches who went a week early on Hannan and perhaps traded out Eddy. So I would hold your horses on Fox for now.

      FEARTHEBEARD · 03/04/2017 at 12:02

      I completely agree here.

Though this is my situation and would love your advise :

I can straight swap Tarranto for WHE. Do no other trade.

I can hold Tarranto (whom I think is worth holding for a rookie bench right now)and get WHE, though to do this I can only do it by taking on Fox. I can ditch 2 of the 3 weakest options in Pickett, Barrett or Parfitt.

I'm now thinking it might be worth holding Parfitt and ditching Barrett as it will leave me that tiny bit more I need (10k) to ditch J Smith next week for Newman if he goes alright again for the Swannies.

This would leave me a bench of – Stewart, Newman in d, Taranro, Fox, Parfitt in the mids, Witts in the ruck and Butler, Eddy in the forwards.

I would then not need to pull any trades unless I'm culling cows or covering injuries.

If I decided to keep Barrett over Parfitt I would be 4-5k short on Newman so now thinking Fox, WHE – IN, Barrett & 1 of Pickett/Parfitt OUT….

        SCaddict · 03/04/2017 at 12:34

I can certainly see your predicament FTB. I would still proceed with options that don't involve trading out playing rookies. For instance I don't have Butler but won't be trading him in for either Parfitt, Bartlett, Pickett even though I'm 95% confident that Butler will end up being the superior cow in that lot. Now if one of those guys were to get dropped this week then I will probably burn the trade on Butler.

So maybe we should wait until the team sheets drop and chat about it in the Panic Room on Friday arvo. I think it's a good idea you have to prepare to get Newman in next week should he perform well again on Friday night.

I've seen enough of Taranto to suggest he may not be the greatest earner of the $200K club (Marchy/WHE/Witts) but if he backs up with another 80 this week he might prove me wrong. So if you still believe then you should definitely hold him and give WHE a skip as that may end up being the smart move in the end. It also in line with my view that you probably shouldn't be trading out playing rookies like Taranto if you can help it even if I think WHE will be that good.

          FEARTHEBEARD · 03/04/2017 at 12:37

I really appreciate the time and effort to put in such a detailed and thoughtful response SCaddict.

I will do my best to track you down Friday! Hard as I am usually training Friday arvos.

Regardless it gives me food for thought and it tells me if I'm going to risk a trade on a rookie early I should part with Barrett to prepare for Newman and avoid another trade to get a cow in for the injured Smith.

          Will have a think.

Youngy · 03/04/2017 at 11:35

Oliver has had a flying start, but I don't see him continuing this output all year. He will cool down.

If u are trading in Oliver, High chance you will regret it.

    INPieman · 03/04/2017 at 11:45

Agree youngy. If I didn't start him forget about it. Chances are he hits the wall at some point

      Tibor · 03/04/2017 at 12:25

Not sure what you base this on….This output was easy to see from last year but they just kept on resting him and concentrated wholly on development. He is absolutely flying, He works very well with Max even compared to his team mates they will keep using Vince and Lewis more as half backs and he will get a clear run at the midfield. Having Gawn without third man up works very much in his favour. Nearly everyone hits a flatter spot at some point but try getting this bloke for under 400 k ever again…,

    Travo · 03/04/2017 at 11:54

Still would be making good coin off him, worst case scenario.

      Youngy · 03/04/2017 at 14:43

One bad score and it will holt his price increases. At the very Best you will make 150k if everything goes right. I'd Rather go for a rookie that only has to hit 300k to be worth it and spend the rest on a proven premium

If you think he is gold go for it trust your gut, my gut is just saying no

        Tibor · 03/04/2017 at 18:08

Works fine if you get a rookie who scores 120 or 130

Chris_Judd · 03/04/2017 at 11:40

Thinking about trading Tom Lynch for Higgins, want to keep Lynch but it just looks like the Suns can't get him the ball nearly enough. Thoughts?

    Trader · 03/04/2017 at 12:17

I agree I have the same situation having lynch…..think I might go to WHE. Plus he doesn't fair well against the hawks and that who they have next lynch BE 157 see him bleeds cash because it doesn't get any better for the runs after that either.

      Trader · 03/04/2017 at 12:18

      The suns

Derek · 03/04/2017 at 11:50

everyone is being a bit harsh on hanners.

He wasn't the only premium to have a sub-standard score. Looking down the list of scores, i see a few premium names. Parker 79, Lewis 78, Crouch 76, sidebum 75, Ablett 73, Hall 44, Hodge 77, Montagna 77, JJ 83, Tuohy 79, Burgoyne 72, Simpson 57, Boyd 56, Shaw 53, Dawson 28, JJK 82.

Last year JPK started with 75 & 95……… as a result his price dropped $50k

I watched the game on the weekend, i thought he played ok. He did get knocked over alot, but i think it was the Dogs aggression more than his poor play. I'll be keeping him.

    Travo · 03/04/2017 at 11:58

I will be trading him out. Hanners has always been consistent and consecutive low scores shows he's out of sorts.

    SCaddict · 03/04/2017 at 12:16

I'd probably be holding too Derek. I guess the main distinction with most of those others you mentioned is that he's now had two games in a row where he has significantly performed below his owner's expectations.

However I would only consider trading him if you have nailed ALL your rookies and didn't use a trade last week. You should really be using this week to get your cash cows sorted rather than making premo or midpriced corrections. But if you have your house in order there and haven't used a trade yet I think you could consider a Hanners sideways as a luxury correction so long as you accept the risk it could backfire should Hanners "come good" in the next few weeks.

But really the vast bulk of Hanners owners should hold this round as most should have more productive things to do with their trades.

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 03/04/2017 at 12:28

what attracted me to hannas was:
17 games over 100 last year with 10 over 120
only 5 under 100 with 68,76 being his lowest score

    So far a 50 and 70.
Watching him on Friday night he is either carrying an injury or his role has changed since Titch left..
He barely attended a centre bounce in the first half Jones and Lloyd attended more.
He hang around the back of backs looking for the easy ball.
he did go in a bit harder in the second half but as you said he did get knocked over a lot and seemed to be second to the ball

I think I will trade him just not sure to whom.
Premo to Premo I think is the way to go.
Probably another Rd 11 bye player thinking the Bont (who looked the complete opposite of hannas) as have Titch, beams and treloar all out rd 13 so a Rocky or pendles would be 4 gun mids out Rd 13.
Also downgrade gives me a bit more cash to bring in Witts. Who looks like one of the top rooks this year with great JS and scoring power. To ton up against Mummy and the GWS midfield is a great effort.

Oliver is tempting as he looked awesome but think Witts will probably make similar cash.

      Derek · 03/04/2017 at 12:35

i must say, it is a good debate and we won't know the answer for a few more weeks.

what would i know…. i had Eddy as my C on the weekend….i just thought he was in for a big game πŸ˜‰

        SCaddict · 03/04/2017 at 12:39

At least you can see the funny side with Eddy as C you poor bastard.

          jockreynolds · 03/04/2017 at 14:25

Derek – mate – I'm so sorry, the worst possible of late outs.

    Moosehead · 03/04/2017 at 13:35

Yes, it is a good debate but I am going to the Bont or Heppell (extra $100+K) and pick him up again later when he drops close to $500k

    Lach · 03/04/2017 at 14:30

I'd only class 4 of them players 'premiums'.. and Hanners has done it twice in a row to which sort of seems like he is playing with injury. Simpson, ablett, shaw and jj had good round 1 scores so I don't really understand your comparison.

    Youngy · 03/04/2017 at 14:52

I think JPK's scoring from early last year should be enough to convince everyone to hold.

I had JPK start of last year didn't trade unlike many others and he turned out to be a great POD who outscored Hanners and Parker for the year.

Most will trade Hanners, and I feel that should also be a reason to keep him

Pete · 03/04/2017 at 11:59

Freo watch – warning need to take into account the ross bloody lyin factor.

Balic best on ground in the reserves again. 30 plus disposals. Cant ignore him for too much longer. Freo must surely give him a go this week. DPP very handy to replace anyone of the underperforming DPP:'s.
Ol Mate Ryan played his first game had 17 disposals. Will probably spend another couple in the magoos but could be Rd 5-6

Ryan Burton (given SMitch's number 5) played really well for 104SC. $254k. But has DEF/FWD DPP

only played 1 game, will see how he goes this week against the Suns.

Tibor · 03/04/2017 at 12:50

Kept Riewoldt after round one just to see if it became a one week injury pretty happy to move on now, I'm not too sad about rookies they're cheap for a reason so I'm not pulling the trigger too early as I already have SPP.

Roo to JJK allows me a mid price correction from Angus Brayshaw to Clayton Oliver

Any thoughts

Ethan · 03/04/2017 at 13:33

Which 2 rookie priced players are better

Witts and Butler or
WHE and Butler

or maybe its time to remove roughy to get both Witts and WHE

    Derek · 03/04/2017 at 13:44

Depends who are you trading out.

I wouldn't be trading out any other playing rookie. I have Smith to deal with, and maybe Hibberd.

      Ethan · 03/04/2017 at 17:09

if its mcarthy and florent who i originally plan to trade out

Adam · 03/04/2017 at 14:04

Bowes to WHE this week, means I'll have to play Dal in the middle for a while which is ok. Had a stinker of a round this week – 2142 with Shaw, Laird, Simpson, JPK and Sandy stinking it up, on top of that had Hannan and Bowes on the ground while Houston sat on the pine!! Dropped almost 6k places…. could have been worse had I not got Ottens 108. O the positive side love the way Higgins is playing – I think he will be in the top 6 forwards come years end and the Witts gamble looks like it will pay dividends.
Hampton is concerning – have Hibberd jnr as well who Im hoping I can turn into Newman next week.

    Boltons Blues · 03/04/2017 at 14:13

same trade for me, moving pickett to my midfield bench.
Lets me keep Taranto aswell, i see him having a more impact then Bowes, who has been below average in his first 2 games. 171k wont rise much

Shark · 03/04/2017 at 14:23

gday guys
just wondering who are the must have rookies we need to make sure we get this week before they sky rocket in price, and who are the rookies we can let go ?

    Youngy · 03/04/2017 at 17:23

I feel no rookie is a must have

But the best rookies are probably

    Powell Pepper, Houston, Otten, Butler

and rookies you can let go are the ones that arnt playing. If you have a rookie that is play, even pickett who is averaging 30 I still would trade.

Jimmy · 03/04/2017 at 15:16

3) Spend some cash to go Pickett to WHE

Has anyone seen a more laughable selfie than Jenkins effort from hospital? Got how many monitors stuck on his chest all b/c he was winded/bruised ribs. Compare that to Stevens playing out the game with a collapsed lung, Birchall playing on with a jaw broken in two places and now we hear Cripps also fractured jaw but kept playing. Jock needs to implement a weekly "Princess" Award… gonna be tough to out Princess Jenkins though.

Dean · 03/04/2017 at 16:36

I’m in a bit of pickle and need the wisdom of some very smart SC players.
I generally hate & seldom do I trade out elite premo’s unless they are not playing through injury or suspension.
That being said I have defiantly made up my mind to get rid of Handsonbery as I believe he is carrying some sort of injury, he was a awesome player who was fast and also a tackling machine but now he is running like a crab and not able to tackle so something isn't right with him and it's not about him giving up the booze.

I would love to bring in Wines but if I do that then I cannot afford trading out Smith in defence to bring in WHE in my forward via DPP and there are no rookie in defence that I need as I have them ALL.
So for my side it would be great to get rid of Smith in defence and utilise that DPP to bring in WHE before round 3.

The only midfielder that is under $527k that is playing in round 13 that looks decent is Ebert but I cannot see him averaging 110+ for the season.
Community what other midfielders are out there that are $527k or less that look like keepers and will be available come round 13 as my BYE structure is fine for rounds 11 & 12 however I need more players that will be playing in round 13

Advice appreciated in advance.

    Randomcliche2 · 03/04/2017 at 17:24

My preseason self said Beams and Armitage. Post Rnd 2 says Beams gap…Murphy….gap… Armitage, Gaff. Assuming N Jones and Jack Viney too expenaive. Without seeing your team, the other option is to run a fwd dpp gamble who could swing and stay Dahl, Mccrae, Miller, Yoyo, Steele. Cheers oh, St Armitage being named….but groin iffy.

      Dean · 03/04/2017 at 18:32

Cheers mate. This is my current team.

DEF: Shaw, Laird, Marchbank, McGrath, Hampton, Otten (Stewart, Smith)
MID: Danger, Pendles, Hannebry, Sloane, Fyfe, T Mitchell, Swallow, Pepper (Barrett, Pickett, Hibberd)
      RUCK: Goldstein, Sandie (Strnadica)
FWD: Dahlhaus, Macrae, Lynch, Nankervis, Butler, Houston (Picket, Eddy)

I had my doubts about Beams mainly due to being so bloody injury prone, however has delivered scoring 91 & 120 however that was against teams such as GCS & Essendon he looked better this week against Essendon.

I am still shit scared about Beams however one cannot complain with what he has done thus far, he twisted his ankle this week but that shouldn't stop him and I doubt it will, the question is will Beams average 110+ come season end.
Murphy looks very enticing and hard to pass up and will be a nice POD compared to Beams, Again though will he keep this up and average 110+

I had Beams in and out of my side so many times throughout the preseason but wanted Hanners & Sloan wish I did choose Beams over Hanners looking back. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Thanks so much for commenting mate, what do you think?

        Dean · 03/04/2017 at 18:42

Haven't used any trades as yet.

      Dean · 03/04/2017 at 18:40

I could get N Jones just which leaves me with $100 in the bank.

I wouldn't touch Viney though, way to inconsistent and wont average 110+ come season end.

Its between Murphy (POD), Jones (POD) or Beams.

    Top hawk · 03/04/2017 at 18:18

Hi Dean, I am not sure if you have Sean Higgins. If not, he is definately worth considering bringing into your forward line. You can trade Hanners into to Higgins ($432k) via DPP (Dahlhaus). It just means Dahlhaus will play in your midfield for a while. Higgins currently is playing in a midfielder capacity at North and is absolutely flying. (130 average over first 2 games). This manouevre will generate you $180K with Higgins set to sky rocket in value after round 3, whilst still getting the maximum price for Hanners.

Your next trade would then obviously be Smith to WHE via DPP. After this trade you will have generated another $75K to add to your existing warchest.

    Worth considering! Good luck.

      Dean · 03/04/2017 at 19:33

That would leave me $101k in the warchest and granted Higgins is having a blinder of a start to this season, as a Doggies supporter this kid is known as the bandaid boy, if he gets a scratch he won't play.

That being said its very enticing and your way of thinking is impressive, however is it worth getting Murphy or Beams which will still leave me with the same amount in the warchest.

        hedski · 03/04/2017 at 20:11

For what its worth Deano could you do Hannas to Beams and up McGrath to Zac the Leprechaun?
Def looks a bit sketchy but that's where the rooks are, Smith to Newman next week?

    Randomcliche2 · 04/04/2017 at 00:26

Top hawk provides very good advice… but failing Higgins….. 96% think he a burnman and not select him (4% own pre this week), Beams and WHE. Disc I own both higgins and beams, but not whe and won't buy, but not for lack of love of his 120!

Solid team. Perhaps wait until rookies are named and if one isn't then a simple trade to WHE would be good. Otherwise, Steven down to a WHE or if you're game on any other premium then that could be a possibility.

Ya should go Steven straight to pendles no brainer for mine, he makes a excellent VC loophole more importantly your not going to waste a trade to upgrade unless he gets injured.

Not sure if the cash works I think it does but it will be close. Mountford to witts via dpp. Steven to Titch.

Is trading roughy down to whe then with the cash I made going omeara to a Heppell/Wines a smart move? Ive got most of the rookies needed bar Houston

    whatyasmokin · 03/04/2017 at 21:47

You're chasing the same players everyone will be, and basing it on 2 rounds of football.

O'meara racked up a lot of disposals on the weekend. He can score as much as Heppell and Wines.

Do Roughy>WHE and then go from there. Maybe a rookie correction trade also.

    Great name!

Similar to the above comment, I am considering trading Jarad Pickett into WHE because I have the cash but, I am concerned about the impact Jamie Elliott will have on his WHE's longevity when returns. Are there any other returning Collingwood players that may also impact on WHE?
I still can't get my head around WHE's improvement or is it simply a case of more opportunities at a less powerful club.
I would prefer NOT to have biased opinions from Magpie supporters.
Thank you in anticipation especially from Derek, Pieman and company.

Non-Collingwood supporter and I did not start with WHE. Looked a trap. After watching both games so far he is a vital part of their forward line and would need an unprecedented run of bad form to fall out of the Pies' best 22. The team is a shambles and he is a rare bright spot. No way they kill his confidence, not even Buckley could be that stupid.

    whatyasmokin · 04/04/2017 at 12:59

They need that run and skill of WHE he finds space and uses the ball well, when Elliot returns…………goodbye Broomhead or Blair.

I'm thinking of trading Joel Smith ($ 117,300) to Macreadie ($ 117,300) and BE -23.
Looks like a big strong reliable keeper but not massive scores ( 55 & 36).
I have Hibberd and Smith on the DEF bench. Newman has only played one game.
Already have Otten & Stewart.
I don't see any other good options for a DEF Rookie Trade.
If Hibberd is going to play again I'd be happy to leave it though.
What do you reckon?

    Sammie · 04/04/2017 at 08:59

Leave it and wait for Newman.

      Steeeve · 04/04/2017 at 10:56

That's what I'm doing with Hibberd. Next week he becomes Newman.

Smith out this week for Otten. Should have done enough to stay in the Crows' side (even kicking a goal, perhaps a move forward could stop him being cut for Lever???) for a few more games. Will put on more than $100k in that time. Hoping for more but with the lack of good rookie options I'll take whatever warchest I can get.

      good advise
