Dusty · 25/03/2017 at 12:27

Who to put VC on..rocky or Ablett?

    Zaza · 25/03/2017 at 12:35

    Jeffreyhead · 25/03/2017 at 17:00

    Gaj all the way ser

BigBoyBananana · 25/03/2017 at 12:27

I understand clangers take away points etc etc, but how in the fkn fck can you tell me that Treloar can get 96 off a game like that? Howe and Adams also robbed and then Bont with 8 kicks 120? Gonna be a long year

    jockreynolds · 25/03/2017 at 12:30

I was staggered as well BigBoy! Was on the way home from Hoppers Crossing last night feeling pretty bloody pleased with myself with the VC on Treloar.. 96! Ah well

      BigBoyBananana · 25/03/2017 at 12:36

Was feeling the exact same Jock πŸ™

      Joestar · 25/03/2017 at 15:47

      Compare Butler's 96 with Treloars,what a friggen joke

      adam · 26/03/2017 at 21:39

Jock think we need an inquiry into our champion data friends this w/end…. not sure if they are trying new software but something has been completely off this weekend…. players are scoring well, then losing 20-30 points to only get it back again at games end… perfect example was Laird today, was 30+ near the end of the first, dropped back to 18 halfway through the second when he had 17 touches, only to finish hte game on 112 with 40+ and then get adjusted to 147.. he isnt the only one… something suggests they have been on the Collingwood party bus….

    Rick Grimes · 25/03/2017 at 14:27

At one stage he had something like 13 disposals for 27 points. I watched the first half and saw maybe one clanger. Otherwise pretty clean. There were blokes with 5 possessions and 60 points. Can't fathom how they scored that game. Really have doubts over the scoring accuracy.

      Noirlust · 25/03/2017 at 19:31

Same thing just happened with the saints game

    Kenny · 25/03/2017 at 14:28

How the propeller heads come up with some of these scores has baffled me for years .. it seems that if you are a popular player with the media it is easy to score big, if not you can have 30, kick 3 and lay 5 tackles and yet only get a lowly 70-80 points. On the other hand, players like Cyril get points for going to the interchange bench and some more when he comes back on!!

      BigBoyBananana · 25/03/2017 at 15:09

Haha yes Kenny, watch Cyril score 90 points tonight against Dons for kicking 2 cheap goals and having 0 impact on the win. Whereas players like Treloar trying their guts out all night trying to get the Pies back in it score 90 odd off 33 touches

        Derek · 25/03/2017 at 16:29

        Sounds good

    Kev · 25/03/2017 at 15:00

I somewhat agree, BBB. Seems much more goes into it than effective/ineffective possessions. Would love some transparency. I didn't think Treloar was stand out amazing last year, tough to argue 33p (20 kicks) @72% isn't worthy of at least a ton though

      BigBoyBananana · 25/03/2017 at 15:07

Exactly Kev, hoping for at least some consistency this year or else I may have to resort back to selecting players who Champion Data froth over (Rance, Bont etc)

    @t_woof · 25/03/2017 at 15:44

Agree BigBoy. Standard Champ Data rort.

    Dee · 26/03/2017 at 09:32

That's what you get for picking Treloar over Pendles…. Karma is a biatch! 146 VC…. yyeeoooow!!!

      trent · 26/03/2017 at 12:03

Dee is the guy who has one player go good for round 1, then flames out mid year when he's made all his trades to correct the rest of his trash.

    Moustachio · 27/03/2017 at 07:43

Could be scoring chains? Also there are bonus points for big plays when game is close… Bont always finds himself in position to get these.

Rooey · 25/03/2017 at 12:28

I'll start by saying treloar and Adams were mugged by champion data last night :(((

    Kano · 25/03/2017 at 12:31

Adams butchered it all night. Trelosr stiff though

      INPieman · 25/03/2017 at 13:41

Well you can tell who the champion data lads do & don't have in their teams

Gus · 25/03/2017 at 12:29

Feeling the rookie pressure today. Bowes, Simpkin or Florent ? Houston, Eddy or Hannan ? Hibberd, Stewart or Otten ?

    Seeker · 25/03/2017 at 13:07

taking into account job security and price, with the first 3 I'd go Sympkin over Bowes. With the second 3 Hannan is too unknown for me. Eddy will play almost every week and is rock bottom, Houston might get three weeks tops early on. Of the last 3 take them all if you can however Stewart has best JS followed by Hibberd Otten could be in and out all year

      Josh · 25/03/2017 at 13:34

      Florent, Hibberd, eddy

    Gibbsy · 25/03/2017 at 13:42

In the same boat Gus. I'm leaning towards Simpkin over Florent, as I think he has the better JS even though he might score a little less. I haven't picked Houston (poor JS) or Hannan (no JLT), so I think Eddy would be the safer pick. Hibberd and Stewart both seem reliable options. I'm worried about Otten's spot as a key back, knowing that Lever and Cheney are soon to be back in the next few weeks.

    Kenny · 25/03/2017 at 14:33

I'm not as worried about Otten's js .. Cheney has had a setback with his recovery so will be a while before he returns and it will be through the SANFL first which should give time for Otten to ripen. Plus he is taller and Cheney often had to stand much bigger opponents last year. Good luck

Pom · 25/03/2017 at 12:29

Have $80k in the bank and pretty happy with my team but…

Do I hold this cash for potential correctives or upgrade Titch to Selwood/Ablett?

    jockreynolds · 25/03/2017 at 12:31

I'd feel pretty good about Titch Pom – I'd hold the nerve I reckon mate

      Pom · 25/03/2017 at 12:42

Thanks Jock! Titch has been in since day 1 and he'll remain.

Pendles going large has had the old school premiums in my mind! I just want this round to over so we are fully locked out!

      Crabb · 25/03/2017 at 13:26

Had a dream M. Crouch scored a 60, Jock. Very relieved this morning. Don't want this happening again. Very nervous.

    bAps · 25/03/2017 at 12:37

    Selwood 100%.

    Big Daz · 27/03/2017 at 14:01

    Titch stays !!!!

    Lach · 27/03/2017 at 14:45

Why would you trade a player that scores the same and is cheaper?

Jake · 25/03/2017 at 12:35

Josh Kennedy or Hannebery

    sambochristie · 25/03/2017 at 12:40

I have both. Leaning towards JPK if I had to choose one though big fella.

    Tim · 25/03/2017 at 12:48

I think Hanners. Off the grog and had a big pre-season apparently. Ultra consistent. JPK has a bigger ceiling, but can often be picked off midway through the year for a fair bit cheaper than his starting price.

    Abel · 25/03/2017 at 13:05

    Parker for me

    Seeker · 25/03/2017 at 13:09

Have neither but I was very close to going JPK (held firm on Pendles in the end) . The only difference I see between JPK and Hanners is JPK kicks more goals

    the nank · 25/03/2017 at 14:41

JPK for mine, his averages are insane when tmitch isn't play

killer · 25/03/2017 at 12:37

Jock are you thinking Rancey may not be the SC premo he was ,Dusty not pushing back so much in 2017 may hinder Rance in not receiving that occasional chop-out at ground level,it looked like Houli's role has changed in lew of this gamestyle ,Caddy might be the answer & not forgetting Lids run from Wing/Half back,it looks like Rance has been effected mostly ,, am I wrong mate

    Kev · 25/03/2017 at 15:02

I think he's just underdone. He was injured preseason don't forget

    Epidemick · 26/03/2017 at 12:58

Rance does better when it is clear who is his opponent and he is set a real challenge. That won't be his best game for the year

undypuncher · 25/03/2017 at 12:40

pretty happy i went howe over rance πŸ™‚ going n reiwolt as vc today hoping he goes large. so far its been the stalwarts of supercoach looking the goods no suprises yet

    INPieman · 25/03/2017 at 13:43

I have Howe. If he stays in that role all year he will be one of the best defenders

    demons delight · 25/03/2017 at 14:50

wouldn't write rance off yet. All champions have off days Will come back strong

Cameron · 25/03/2017 at 12:42

Jock how do you feel the rookies performing and do you see yourself going more of a guns / rookie strategy?

Scyb · 25/03/2017 at 12:43

I just gone with Gazza. Going to back him. Just thinking whether to put the C on him. (got jibbed by VC trelor last night)

    jockreynolds · 25/03/2017 at 14:22

Plenty are jumping on him today! My advice – back your preseason research in, I'd resist the urge to pump him in if you've had a few poor performers so far. Back in your preseason son πŸ˜‰

Jake · 25/03/2017 at 12:45

Am honestly considering trading grundy to nank, thought i was following my guns by not picking him but champion data seem to love the kid, and dear god someone please talk me out of it

    Cameron · 25/03/2017 at 12:47

Seems like a sideways trade. Buy low sell high

    Bravis Toak · 25/03/2017 at 13:17

    don't do it.

It's a knee jerk reaction to the first round. You swith them now and next week Nank will score 70 and Grundy 130.

Just hold, Grundy will bring your points and the trade is not worth it.

    Seeker · 25/03/2017 at 13:20

    Waste of a trade

    INPieman · 25/03/2017 at 13:51

The idea of the game Jake is to increase the number of premiums you have in your team. Not trade them because they scored an 80. And to a mid pricer! Jake slap yourself in the face please. If Nank goes welll next week find another way of getting him in

    Brad · 26/03/2017 at 19:22

WBDs historically are hard to score against as a ruckman. 80 odd is a decent score against them

    KEN BRUCE · 26/03/2017 at 20:55

Do it, unless your chicken, bok bok bok

Adam · 25/03/2017 at 12:46

Current team:
Def: K Simpson, H Shaw, R Laird, S Burgoyne, C Hampton, A Otten, (M Hibberd, T Stewart)
Mids: P Dangerfield, S Pendlebury, J Kennedy, J Selwood, N Fyfe, J O'Meara, D Swallow, S Powell-Pepper, (O Florent, J Barrett, J Pickett)
Rucks: T Goldstein, A Sandilands (L Strandica)
Fwds: N Riewoldt, J Roughead, W Hoskin-Elliot, C McCarthy, T Taranto, K Turner, (D Butler, B Eddy)

Should I keep Shaw and O'Meara or trade them out for M Priddis and Z Jones.

    The Coach · 25/03/2017 at 12:48

    Keep them.

      Cameron · 25/03/2017 at 12:49

      Yeah I'd keep them

    Tim · 25/03/2017 at 12:50

    Keep them.

    Tim · 25/03/2017 at 12:54

Sorry, posted that as a comment instead of a reply by mistake. Maybe trade Burgoyne down to a rookie (J Smith maybe) and McCarthy up to JJK or Franklin. Your forward line is very thin.

Tim · 25/03/2017 at 12:52

But maybe Burgoyne down to rookie (J Smith maybe) and McCarthy up to JJK or Franklin. Your forward line is very thin.

Chookie · 25/03/2017 at 12:52

I'm thinking of going Big Steph as something a little different as Archie wasn't named. Is this a sane move??

    Kev · 25/03/2017 at 15:05

Archie won't play reserves all year. Stef struggles with him in the team. Long term it's not a great move

Jeremy Lyne · 25/03/2017 at 12:54

Feeling pretty bloody pleased with my VC loophole in Pendles and the 120 from Bont. Season's off to a good start so far. Still yet to see how some of my midprice risks pay off so fingers crossed for Roughy, Steele and JOM to smash out a good score.

correy · 25/03/2017 at 12:55

will sloane play or get him out b4 todays games

Steve · 25/03/2017 at 12:58

Danger or Fyfe as captain

    Cameron · 25/03/2017 at 13:02

    Tough to pick Danger imo

    Thommo88 · 25/03/2017 at 13:23

Its like splitting hairs could defiantly go either way.

    Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 14:06

Danger for me definitely, with the vc on Gawn

      demons delight · 25/03/2017 at 14:52

      agree youngy

      Randomcliche2 · 25/03/2017 at 23:06

So now do we take Gawn's 128ish?

        redgumwon · 26/03/2017 at 09:36

Was thinking the same and I think I'll take Gawns 128

        Youngy · 26/03/2017 at 10:15

Yes i have taken his 128

Cameron · 25/03/2017 at 13:00

Current team:
Def: H Shaw, A Rance, H Hartlett, C Marchbank, C Hampton, A Otten, (M Hibberd, T Stewart)
Mids: P Dangerfield, G Ablett, J Kennedy, N Fyfe, D Beams J O'mera, D Swallow, S Powell-Pepper (O Florent, T Taranto, J Pickett)
Rucks: M Kreuzer, T Nankervis (B Preuss)
Fwds: N Riewoldt, L Franklin, S Higgins, J Roughead, J Steele, B Eddy (D Butler, J Simpkin)

    Dylan · 25/03/2017 at 13:04

Interesting team, I've gone with Higgins too so I hope that can pay off. I like your Ablett and Kreuzer picks, they are great left field picks. A bit uncertain about Hartlett consistency wise and Steele being a JLT trap

      Cameron · 25/03/2017 at 13:08

I think Hartlett uses the ball well when he is on but it is a risky pick. Backed my gut with Kreuzer. I think Ablett is too good at his best but whether he is at his best I guess we'll see

Soupi · 25/03/2017 at 13:02

I've pulled in Zac jones as D4 using cash in the bank, I feel he's a sneaky but got some little creeping doubts! some one tell me…good shout mate, so i feel good about it

    GNR · 25/03/2017 at 13:05

good choice, I feel he can reach 450k to then jump on a fallen.

Dylan · 25/03/2017 at 13:02

Is going KK and Higgins over Shaw and Roughy insane or ballsy? Only way to get Shaw and Roughy would involve changing Gawn to a Stefan Martin or below

    Moustachio · 27/03/2017 at 07:47

Would have taken Shaw, Roughy and Stef over KK, Higgins and Gawn any day of the week

CJay · 25/03/2017 at 13:04

What are people doing with Ed Vickers-Willis ?
Keeping on the bench and hope he gets a game soon or trading out to a R1 player.
I have traded out and moved Hibberd from Mid to Def and traded in Mountford to Mid.
Move doesn't sit well with me though,

    Dylan · 25/03/2017 at 13:09

If you don’t have Barrett or Parfitt try to move them in or get a Joel Smith kind of player in defence and move Hibberd back into the midfield

    Thommo88 · 25/03/2017 at 13:28

I would personally get rid of EVW.

I personally like all rookies to be playing(other then floatong donut if you play that way).

Allowing for correction trades on missed rookies prior to price changes if required.

Jippa · 25/03/2017 at 13:05

Is Andy Otten a must have or na?

    Thommo88 · 25/03/2017 at 13:19

I wouldn't say a must have as he has his risks

Job security is the major concern here can he hold on long enough to beef up in price before we send him to the slaughter house.

    I currently have him.

    Seb · 25/03/2017 at 13:31

Feel like Joel smith has more js because garland is out for season

      hedski · 25/03/2017 at 13:40

Hibberd to come in worries me.

        Seb · 25/03/2017 at 13:43

        Yes just looked at

          hedski · 25/03/2017 at 14:19

I'm tossing Otten and Smith, think I'll go Otten get a look at Smith.

            Seb · 25/03/2017 at 14:54

Lever and Cheney coming back in next couple weeks, only hibberd coming back into the backline for Melbourne

              hedski · 25/03/2017 at 15:09

I know but havent seen Smith, Otten can score well.

      demons delight · 25/03/2017 at 14:57

Smith may go forward later bit of a poor mans swingman

Tttt · 25/03/2017 at 13:05

Need help guys:
Already have guthrie at d8 so that's a donut there
Currently have Cameron at f8 and strndica at r3
Do I trade Cameron to pruess?
Only thing I'm worried about is losing that loop with my rucks as I have nankervis forward

BrownlowBoy · 25/03/2017 at 13:07

Anyone know anything on the young bloke from the Dees?

    demons delight · 25/03/2017 at 15:01

Hannan is a fearless mark medium forward got opposition for the gig but they are similar could be ok

Dookie · 25/03/2017 at 13:12

Have we poked the Pendle-bear-y by thinking that Treloar will surpass him? I'm still crying that I doubted King Scott and went Prince Adam in his place.
Pendles was majestic last night

    NutSack · 25/03/2017 at 15:17

LOL Treloar is NOT a SC gun… gets HEAPS of disposals so he turns it over alot… Pendles is the opposite. I heard somewhere that after a Pendles disposal his team makes a link of another 3 disposals 90% of the time. Treloar is a MUST in DT and Fantasy but will NOT be a top 10 SC midfielder you can BET my namesake on that πŸ˜‰

Sublime · 25/03/2017 at 13:13

Tobias Greene or Buddy?????

    INPieman · 25/03/2017 at 14:05

    Dutch · 25/03/2017 at 14:48

Danny · 25/03/2017 at 13:14

Do I trade Hanners to Ablett?

    ryan · 25/03/2017 at 13:32

no. ablett may do well, but very injury prone.
i would take him on all year

    Thommo88 · 25/03/2017 at 13:37

History shows he can score go with your gut on who you think will give you the best output.

I will be monitoring little Gaz and considering Post bye

Ryan · 25/03/2017 at 13:31

Houston or Hannan?

Smith or Stewart?

Who do i pick?

    Dylan · 25/03/2017 at 13:37

    Houston and Smith

      ryan · 25/03/2017 at 13:47

      but why?

        Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 14:08

        Better JS

          David C · 26/03/2017 at 08:58

Hannan's js is looking pretty good now

    Marvin · 25/03/2017 at 14:14

Patch or Lek posted some info on why Hannan over Houston. Looks like got some decent js

Thommo88 · 25/03/2017 at 13:35

Have 90k left as I changed from Grundy/Crouch to Gawn/JOM team is settled.

Although is it worth considering changing Lynch to JJK or Roo with the extra coin from last nights change?

    Tim · 25/03/2017 at 13:55

Yes. Lynch is a gun and a good POD, but he has the early bye. Prime upgrade target after that.

    Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 14:15

Good change Crouch bad pick in my opinion. I would keep the cash for a rainy day

Shake n bake · 25/03/2017 at 13:50

Sidebottom 35 touches Bont 22,SB 17 kicks Bont 8, 2 goals each SB 4 marks Bont 3, SB 3 tackles Bont 4, SB 80% efficiency Bont 72%, SB 117 sc pts Bont 120!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Noirlust · 25/03/2017 at 19:35

How many of those goals went through bonts hands last night. The most SC friendly player this year

Seb · 25/03/2017 at 13:53

Hannan or Houston doing my head in

Laird or Shaw

Are all leagues autofilled yet! Say i wanted to join a league today would i be able to! And will the fixtures work out

    Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 14:26

leagues are auto filled after this round i believe

      Jason · 25/03/2017 at 14:28

So i can still join leagues and Thanks for your quick response Youngy gl with your SC year

        Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 14:35

        Yes u can, Cheers

Defying · 25/03/2017 at 14:00

Swallow or Omeara

    Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 14:25

      Youngy · 26/03/2017 at 10:17

      maybe not now haha

    Thommo88 · 25/03/2017 at 14:27

Depends on your structure both will perform in my opinion if playing.

JOM will be right amongst it for Hawthorn who don't have a huge amount of depth on the other hand GC may have more roations through the middle.

Reileys 22 · 25/03/2017 at 14:06

Should I go with Toby Greene or roo

    ryan · 25/03/2017 at 14:07

    consistent, not injury prone, gun

    Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 14:26

Roo concerned about lids addition to team in coming weeks

Nicholas · 25/03/2017 at 14:08

Here is my team wondering if I should make some swaps to utilize my 270k in the bank

Wondering if upgrading taranto/mccarthy to a cheap premo or a midpricer like steele/ roughy is worth it.
Also got to choose between swallow and omeara and laird/shaw.

adams, rance, laird, marchbank, hampton, otten (hibberd, stewart)

danger, jpk, treloar, fyfe, tmitch, beams, swallow, spp (barett, picket, parfitt)

sandilands, witts (strnadica)

dahl, macrae, higgins, nank, taranto, mcarth (housten, eddy)

    Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 14:29

Shaw over Laird for me and keep the cash for a rainy day

      Nicholas · 25/03/2017 at 15:04

Yeh that's what I was thinking. Thanks

Solid pick best overall forward scorer last year will have his quiet games

Stompers · 25/03/2017 at 14:15

who do you recon will score more?

Joel Smith or T Stewart

    ryan · 25/03/2017 at 14:16

stewart has better job security. melbourne have about 8 players to return in the next month, roos have 1 in the defence

      Hutta · 25/03/2017 at 14:35

      Stewart plays for geelong

Helpme · 25/03/2017 at 14:17

Otten, Stewart or hibberd on the field in the backline?

      Lincoln · 25/03/2017 at 15:43

Yeah ill have both…maybe bud as he'll def go 95+..lynch unknown

Joshua farrugia · 25/03/2017 at 14:30

im hoping Taranto scores similar to Dan Butler so i don't fell the brunt of not playing the kid on field too much

    I've got you butler · 26/03/2017 at 09:03

Just put Taranto on the bench floater on the ground, if you at least named butler as emergency

Dr Trade · 25/03/2017 at 14:32

Taranto or Hannan ? please advise!

Gawn VC into Danger C?

what the ruck · 25/03/2017 at 14:42

Gday Jock and community. My season is hanging by a thread! I traded out Marchbank & Adams pre game. I feel i need to take a risk now. Welcome to F6 Mitch Hannan…..aka the saviour

    Kev · 25/03/2017 at 15:10

This week: Yes. Rest of the year: No

    Noirlust · 25/03/2017 at 19:36

Horlin smith with hold his spot this year. Others will make way

    Randomcliche2 · 25/03/2017 at 23:14

Good pod. Swallow late out. Teams everywhere in disarray!

Reddog · 25/03/2017 at 14:55

Major dilemma community! Live in the US and fell asleep literally minutes before thursday nights teams dropped! Unfortunately the last iteration of my team had Nank / Sandi as my rucks. My plan was to have Gawn R1 (sandi r2) as long as he was named the lone ranger and move Nank to R4.

Do I cop the Sandi donut this week by moving strnadica FWD so i can bring back Gawn and go in with my intended structure? Or bring in a premo elsewhere?

    NutSack · 25/03/2017 at 15:21

Cop the Sandi donut for sure and get Gawn…… and like Jock said…. NEVER sleep before lockouts on opening round… for god sake man- put some tooth picks in your eyes!!!!!

The Stiv · 25/03/2017 at 14:56

Taranto and Houston or
Florent and Simpkin.

I'm worried Pittard will be in for Houston next week.

TEM · 25/03/2017 at 15:02

i want to get butlers score on field but the only way i can do it is if i get a donut, is it worth the risk of getting a donut like maybe darcy cameron or any other forward rookies cause i dont know any that wont play this week but will get games in future, also i have Joel Smith on my bench, but who is the better option for my bench, Smith or Otten.

NutSack · 25/03/2017 at 15:04

Anyone think Dangers gonna smash 200 coz I wanna take Pendles 146. Also would you take Treloars 125 in DT or ya reckon Danger could smash out a 200? Im scratching me aggits on this one. Thanks

    daniel · 25/03/2017 at 15:26

I'm taking the 146. I think Danger may beat it, but I'm not looking a captain's score of 292 in the mouth.

Just looked at the stats, I'd take the 146. For 2016, Danger scored above 146 on four occasions. Same in 2015.

    Russ in W.A · 25/03/2017 at 18:26

Take the 146, or you're a greedy guts lol

NutSack · 25/03/2017 at 15:12

Alex · 25/03/2017 at 15:14

Taranto and Miles or Bowes and Florent

Jezz · 25/03/2017 at 15:18

Is Mountford a good rookie option

    daniel · 25/03/2017 at 15:55

The consensus is that his job security is minimal, so may be better options.

      Randomcliche2 · 25/03/2017 at 23:18

      Better or worse than Parfitt?

    Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 15:55

Bad JS but he is playing and cheap so he is in my team

    BPsss · 25/03/2017 at 16:10

I've picked him. No JLT series but I'm risking it!

notoriousmac · 25/03/2017 at 15:27

Kayne turner jack bowes oliver florent or jy sympkin?
Tough decision. Who and why?

daniel · 25/03/2017 at 15:29

Last minute little decisions. Or at least they seem that way, until they cut you to shreds over the season…

What are everyone's thoughts on the following:

B. Preuss or D. Cameron at R3? Is Cameron going to come in within the next 1-2 weeks? I am concerned with NM and "the Scott effect" (I am thinking he'll alternate between Daw and Preuss).

Is Witts a good option for cash generation in the ruck or am I going crazy? He averaged 72 in 2014 and 2015 – is that realistic considering he's likely to be #1 ruck at GCS?

Lastly, Schoenmakers / Hannan / Eddy / Houston / Florent – what order would you rate them? I need to pick two for my forward bench (I am leaning towards at least one of the cheaper guys so that my SC bank account looks better than mine!).

    Sleeping Giant · 25/03/2017 at 16:02

Do you have a R/F in your FWD line? (Nankervis/Ryder etc) if yes, I'd go Cameron provided all your other rookies are playing. If no, I'd go Pruess as he is playing right now.

A lot to consider with Witts I think. Firstly, when he averaged 72 the ruckmen were scored differently. So since then he has averaged 50 from 2 games (small sample but disappointing nonetheless) if he does average 72 is that enough? Given you will probably have to trade him at his early bye, you might make 150k max. Is Nicholls going to take his place in a few weeks? The upside is he could average more than 72. He scored an 85 in his last JLT game (again very small sample) so it's possible.

Definitely Eddy is best here I think. He is the cheapest, with the best scoring potential and equal best JS with Schonenmakers. Hannan I'd have number 2, we don't know much about him but must be rated internally. I'd have Houston number 3, even though not great JS. The last 2, personally I don't like because I wouldn't pay 30-50k more for a rookie who wasn't guaranteed to give me a better return over a basement priced one.

      daniel · 25/03/2017 at 16:36

      Thanks for the in-depth response.

I had wanted to bring in Nank but missed lock-out due to the time difference (I'm in Ontario, Canada). May still bring him in, will have to see how he goes next week and if I need to do any other corrective trades (right now, all my rookies are playing, except for Cameron).

I've gone with Eddy and Hannan, we'll see if they can do enough to generate some cash.

      Good luck for the year!

Tim · 25/03/2017 at 15:33

J Smith or M Hannan?

    Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 15:56

      Or not lol

Luke · 25/03/2017 at 15:46

Martin and Swallow

Gawn and a 120k rookie

    Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 16:00

Gawn and rookie for me concerned about Martins output.

    Sleeping Giant · 25/03/2017 at 16:08

Gawn and rookie as I see 1 keeper there. Even if the rookie is Barnaby Joyce I'd still take that option!

Thommo88 · 25/03/2017 at 15:54

Mitchell will out scores his price IMO both will score well.

Ask yourself will Mitchell finish top 10 mid?

    Jim · 25/03/2017 at 16:11

    No sure he will.
I'm tossing up between him and Bowes or Florent or Sympkin
    JPK and Hannan

wombatsfc · 25/03/2017 at 16:24

It seem that the Champion Data favourites factor is operating at 200% this round. If the Bont gets 120 for a dozen cheap and easy possessions Gaz is looking good for a season opening 400+

Richie Porte · 25/03/2017 at 16:24

Goldy and Sandi
Sandi and Witts

FisherDan · 25/03/2017 at 16:24

Looks like Strnadica is on field game 1! I am pretty damn pleased I went with my gut and chose DePendlebury over Treloar and saw through the achilles BS to put the VC on the great man. πŸ˜€

wombatsfc · 25/03/2017 at 16:31

Todays last minute panic trade Barlow to GAJ, hopefully it will make up for going Pendle to Treloar yesterday

Robbie Gray, two possessions. 18 points.
Ollie Wines, 14 possessions. 16 points.

    Tophawk · 25/03/2017 at 17:56

Wtf happened to Eddy?…did he break his leg or something?…is the big show too much for him?

Spuds · 25/03/2017 at 18:16

Docherty and Matt Crouch or Dusty and JJ

    wombatsfc · 25/03/2017 at 19:50

    Dusty and JJ.
Marchbank is taking a few of Dochs marks because Doch has had a minor role change. Not playing as deep this year so he can provide a link upfield. It'd be a SC points+ move if blues could kick goals but will probably cost 10+ off his ave

Russ in W.A · 25/03/2017 at 18:29

This is really disappointing crap from StKilda, I was excited about this game but now can barely even stand to watch another minute.
Hope they can lift their bloody game in the coming weeks, otherwise it's another mediocre year coming up.

Boltons Blues · 25/03/2017 at 18:38

Traded Pendles out for Trelor to sneak in Taranto, Supercoach has already given me the good old stuff you!

and ive left Pickett and Eddy on the ground, big boot up my backside already

    Russ in W.A · 25/03/2017 at 18:43

I've got Eddy on field too, and chose Treloar over Pendles….hooray!

    Nathaniel · 25/03/2017 at 18:57

I feel you. I too swapped out Pendles for Treloar and left Eddy on field with Butler on the bench. I also thought it was a good idea to swap JPK out for Hanners last minute. Boy was I wrong…

It's going to be a tough few weeks watching him punish me.

      Bells E Bubb · 26/03/2017 at 18:43

How crap was Hanners? Barely sighted. Mustve been trying to adjust to playing a bit more inside. Hope that stops.

Treloar is a gun, he will pick it up it's just rd 1

    John James · 26/03/2017 at 13:42

Looks like I wasn't the only fool to trade out Dependles for Treloar, did it mainly due to the injury doubt, first time ever not to have Pendles in my team. Now how to get him back?

Hope Gaz pumps out a 170

    Russ in W.A · 25/03/2017 at 18:50

Only one game mate, Hanners is a gun.

      The Weapon · 25/03/2017 at 20:19

I have certain criteria when selecting players, DEF & FWD must have ceiling of 140+, MIDS must have floor no lower than 60. A disgraceful performance by Hanners. I picked him over Kennedy because he is a fast starter.

        wombatsfc · 25/03/2017 at 20:34

Yeah it wasn't real flash weapon I also picked him over JPK expecting natural progression. Maybe without TMitch clearing the deck he's going to struggle?

    Bulls On Parade · 26/03/2017 at 21:11

Hanners played on the wing. If this continues, we have a very serious issue…

Steve · 25/03/2017 at 18:56

Horlin-Smith good enough replacement for Swallow? Or just leave Swallow on the pine and take Barretts score?

Defying · 25/03/2017 at 18:58

Do we just swap swallow to omeara?

Juzzy · 25/03/2017 at 18:59

Yep … Swallow out has buggered everything up for me.

Oh God … as I am typing Saint Nick's just done his knee …

Good Lord.

Russ in W.A · 25/03/2017 at 19:00

Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 19:13

I Really don't want to bring Omera into my team… what other options do I have… Do I keep Swallow… SuperCoach GODS WHY

    BCHawks · 25/03/2017 at 19:19

I traded Swallow subbed Taranto into my mids and picked up McCarthy in my forwards and pocketed 80K

      Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 19:36

Decided to keep Swallow will just take Barrets score. Maybe not the smartest move, Hopefully he is just sick or something. I really like Swallow one of my first picked, hopefully he plays next week.

With more time maybe I could have figured something better out but with the time I had and all my fowards already played, I couldn't come up with a trade that made me happy.

Hopefully Swallow kills it next week and is now somewhat a point of difference.

eppsy86 · 25/03/2017 at 19:18

Damn!! Lucky I checked crisis averted, actually means I'm almost closer to true guns and rooks. Ditched Swallow for Jaeger and changed some rooks thru DPP….

Swallow's not named in the side, what do you mean?

      wombatsfc · 25/03/2017 at 19:44

I think they mean they can't trade him out Russ, SC is prematurely locked. That'd be a bummer

        Russ in W.A · 25/03/2017 at 19:48

That does blow big chunks, glad I didn't have Swallow then!…these sorts of site errors shouldn't occur when there's so much at stake..and where TF is Supercoach Live HQ?

      Tim · 25/03/2017 at 19:45

Bad luck on Eddy mate but plenty had Pickett on field so you're 2pts ahead of them. Is Dunsborough between Perth and Gero? Windy place on the coast?

    wombatsfc · 25/03/2017 at 20:16

I'll take Kruezers 121 at R1 and Nank at F5 and pocket the $270k, thanks

      wombatsfc · 25/03/2017 at 20:45

Witts at R2 so combined cost $30k less than max and both will outscore him

    Youngster · 25/03/2017 at 22:18

I reckon Crouching One is already planning on spending a good chunk of his cash reserve to correctly upgrade Hickey to Gawn.

Hickey 44 — so much for the third man up rule change improving his scoring. Gawn ripped him a new one.

Yeah Wombats blew his wad way too early. Should know better if he is going to troll Rocky owners. Doubt a fantasy pig at your peril. Even outscored Zorko by 23pts in the end to make Wombats look a right muppet.

Steve · 25/03/2017 at 21:27

Do any Cats fans know how good Horlin-Smith's JS is? He is named on field and scored well in the JLT but his averages in previous years arent too attractive.

Thoughts and feelings community?

    Russ in W.A · 25/03/2017 at 21:39

I know he's been around for 5 years or so and hasn't set the world on fire yet. I wouldn't place a lot of faith in him.

    Andrew · 26/03/2017 at 10:06

Well Crouching One rated his JS as he was planning to select GHS in his team. Then again he was also planning to select Thurlow too and we know what happened there. Not to mention he also recommended Hickey for R1, well ok so maybe he's not the best judge of horse flesh since Cummings. You are probably taking a fairly large gamble as GHS has proven a very unreliable performer in his short AFL career. It could come off and pay handsome dividends but could also explode in your face. Not a selection for the risk averse that's for damn sure.

    Valens_FC · 26/03/2017 at 11:08

I'm a cats fan and go nearly every week. George has been extremely hardly done by in terms of selection with much more patience shown to other young players. He got selected just once last season while s selwood got parachuted in on reputation.

George wins his own ball and is a very gifted sportsman having captained Australia in junior cricket. With Caddy leaving he gets his opportunity now. Also significant that he was named as rover, whilst Menegola didn't make the 22 (also harsh in my view). It's possible that only 2 of s selwood, Menegola and George play but for the first time he's getting first look and can make it his own. I'm backing him in on a pure value and reliability play versus d swallow and o'meara.

      Valens_FC · 26/03/2017 at 11:09

Guthrie and s selwood battling injury also gives George a run in the first part of the season.

Would you take 134 from JPK, or wait and see how Danger goes tomorrow?

    Youngy · 25/03/2017 at 22:14

Take anything over 130 is the general rule. Id take it. I will be taking Gawns 128

    Randomcliche2 · 26/03/2017 at 00:02

I snapped up rocky at 137….you should should take jpk's. He outscored JPK 9 of 22 last season, but two of those were 135 and he did go large against h2h v fyfe last year. Will both coaches do the same thing this year. No. Sandilands is playing this time so danger would be chasing fyfe all afternoon if h2h. I'm expecting something a little closer to the danger mean.

    Andrew · 26/03/2017 at 09:11

All the way with JPK! If you get greedy and knock it back it's just the sort of insolence the SC gods just luuuuuuuuuv to punish!

Roughead, Rance, Jaegar, Swallow all killing me

    Valens_FC · 26/03/2017 at 11:13

Roughy and Jaeger acceptable scores for first games back after not playing last season. Judge them at their price not on what they've been. Good start for those two. Rance is like that – he only scores when he can get off the chain. when he has to lock down he doesn't score. Weitering was a constant threat all night and probably got the better of him. No disgrace in my view – Weitering is going to be an absolute gun.

Totally agree. Very unHawks like – they butchered it all night. Kept telling hawks fans that titch and jaeger might be very good players but they also may never be elite. As a cats fan know the what it's like to get very good replacements for legends of the game. And as a cats fan let's hope it's a very long, hard season for the hawks!

    Ottis · 25/03/2017 at 23:36

Same boat here Trigger, I couldn't split them so in the end I went Hanners to save 1k. Damn that 1k's cost me 100 points already nearly.

    Mal · 26/03/2017 at 06:32

Same here, trying to stay positive. hopefully it was his only stinker for the year and he goes back to banging out tons next week after everyone has traded him out

    Andrew · 26/03/2017 at 08:53

I think all that JPK starts slow rubbish got in too many coaches heads. Other than last year he started well in the 3 seasons before that. He's a beast and will always be in the contest where as Hanners can drift in and out of games. No Titch will only give JPK even more time inside. The warning signs for Hanners were there in the JLT for those who were looking.

Seb · 25/03/2017 at 22:29

Currently sitting on 1309 from the 12 players who have completed their games.
Really happy with my pods in Simpson, bontempelli, hogan, roo. Also had nankervis, pendlebury and JPK.
I have out the VC on JPK so am going to take his score as captain.
I currently have zorko and witts playing tonight who seem to be going ok.
Being fairly new to this game not sure but I think so far so good?

I selected Steele because of his DPP flexibility, his age, and I needed the extra 20K to get me over the line with the Franklin selection.

Finnius123 · 25/03/2017 at 23:50

How much do you reckon is a good rd 1 score? I am headed for around the 2200 mark at this stage, and just inquisitive as to how this stacks up against everyone else.

    Juzzy · 26/03/2017 at 00:44

Reckon 2200 will be a big way to start the season.

    Holty · 26/03/2017 at 00:48

Id say 2300+ this week is a good score. Im on 1397 with 7 to play with captain on Danger. Ive had a terrible first round and i may get to 2150.

      Juzzy · 26/03/2017 at 01:16

      Geez Holty.

2300+ in the first round a "good score". I'd probably take that in round 16.

Good luck with Danger Mate. Hope he rights the ship for you.

Steeeve · 25/03/2017 at 23:58

Beams and Treloar seen begging on the street a minute ago, poor buggers have no other choice, they have been completely robbed during the weekend.

    "Cup of soup Sir Bont?"

    Holty · 26/03/2017 at 00:42

Beams agreed but treloar did not have the influence of others. I thought Howe had a fantastic game byt just managed to get to 100. But do agree that sometimes the scoring baffles me.

    Andrew · 26/03/2017 at 09:00

Worst part of Supercoach is the unverified scoring system which is vulnerable to all kinds of rorting by those CD assclowns. You just have to suffer through these inequities for players clearly not in the CD sides. Otherwise quit your complaining and go and play DT instead.

Juzzy · 26/03/2017 at 00:58

Just before I pass out (copious drinking after the Saints performance) …

For anyone who considered, or is considering, big Max (everyone probably) he scored 128 today and spent most of the second quarter on the bench and in the rooms with a back issue.

He totally dominated Hickey. I know it's just one game but anyone without him might want to start formulating plans to get him in.

It's been a while since I would have tipped over 2100pts in a first round.

That includes my projected scores from Danger, Fyfe, Sandy and Taranto.

How you guys going?

    Rocksta · 26/03/2017 at 09:03

1342 from 14. Not Great. Eddy 30 points and 3 possessions onfield. Can't understand the hype.

Anyhow, should still get between 2100 and 2200 as have Danger, Fyfe, Heater, Laird, Sandilands to play.

    Northernsoul74 · 26/03/2017 at 10:25

I'm taking Gawns score. Anything approaching 130 is a fine effort.

    Youngy · 26/03/2017 at 10:27

    ive taken gawns score

Nick Kongos · 26/03/2017 at 09:16

hi gang………it's great that footy is back. My dilemma is this: I have the VC loophole on JPK. Take the 134 or put the C on danger or fyfe??????

    Andrew · 26/03/2017 at 09:31

All the way with JPK! If you get greedy and knock it back it's just the sort of insolence the SC gods just luuuuuuuuuv to punish! If your C choice this evening spuds it up or cops an injury which CAN happen you will be filthy for an entire week. But if they score 150 you will only be mildly annoyed for a couple of hours.

      Wedge · 26/03/2017 at 14:30

If they score 150 you only miss out on 16 points. I wouldn't even be mildly annoyed. Peace of mind is worth more than 16 points.

        Dnoyes · 26/03/2017 at 16:56

It would actually be 32 points. Still probably not worth the risk though

          TEM · 26/03/2017 at 17:01

          it would be 16 still.
          if he takes jpk:
          134 * 2 = 268
          268 + 150 = 418

          if fyfe:

          150 * 2 = 300
          300 + 134= 434

          434-418= 16

Don't Blush Baby · 26/03/2017 at 09:25

If Rooey is out for more than 2 weeks are we looking at trading him ?

    Andrew · 26/03/2017 at 09:46

Let's see what the prognosis is first but if it's likely to be 3 or more weeks then I'd ditch him for sure. That's just too much cash sitting on the pine especially with the steamy turds our benches have laid this weekend in Pickett and Eddy. And if you can jump on a hot midpricer like a Steele/Nank or rookie that has got off to a flyer well that helps offset at least some of the pain. You could also consider holding just one week if the prognosis is unclear, as well as to ensure you make the best trade in possible before the round 3 price rises.

Rabbits16 · 26/03/2017 at 09:27

Ryder was on 20 points around quarter time and went back to 0 !?!?

    Andrew · 26/03/2017 at 09:54

This has been the worst start to the season in terms of confidence in the Supercoach scoring system. Usually each round there is one or two head scratchers but already this weekend there could easily be a dozen scores or more that just look way off.

    Saundo · 26/03/2017 at 13:58

That was because his taps weren't to ports advantage

Seb · 26/03/2017 at 09:33

I think rooey is gonna be okay it was just a tweak

    Tophawk · 26/03/2017 at 09:56

I bloody hope so. He looked magnificient before he went down with that knee. At least he had a decent score on the board, and will not disrupt my overall scoring this week, but if he is OK, it would be a real bonus. Save me a valuable trade.

      Finnius123 · 26/03/2017 at 12:07

ruled himself out for next week

    Noirlust · 26/03/2017 at 13:32

Im not sure about a tweak.
Strechered off, and he said it went pop. Just not a ACL….. so far.

    wombatsfc · 26/03/2017 at 13:32

They are 4-6 weeks on the Sunday Footy show Seb. Another brilliant strategy move before the game chasing safety by swapping Buddy for St Nick even worse than when I swapped Pendle for Treloar.
SC lockout should start 7-days before the first game

      wombatsfc · 26/03/2017 at 14:19

FFS It's looking like swapping Waite out for Toby was another dumb move.

      Tibor · 26/03/2017 at 15:56

Stick nick. Even if you have to cover him for a couple of weeks with the bench. He looked great. No way they take him to Perth next week but it's a long season and hardly any team has anyone to play on him. He is a gun

andy_89 · 26/03/2017 at 09:35

With J Smith going down and out for a fair while, I can now use him as a loophole (Dees don't play a Thurs or Fri game until rd15 and have 5 Sunday/Monday games out of the first 10). Is it worth brining in Preuss for Strandica to generate some cash from that spot now? Or is Cameron a better option? Already have Witts at R2

Only concern is Preuss's JS. Is Majak out with injury or selection? He played the last 2 JLTs

    Phil · 26/03/2017 at 10:05

    Good question and I think we need more information about your team to answer it correctly;
    1. Do you have a R/F link in your FWD line? Ryder/Nankervis etc. because I wouldn't lose this just for Preuss
    2. Have you nailed all your rookies, particularly in the backline? Because sideways trading Smith to a missed rookie might be a better option. Costs 1 trade, but you'll get the important cash generation (more so than Preuss.

If you answered NO to Q1 and YES to Q2 I'd do it.

      andy_89 · 26/03/2017 at 10:43

Great point Phil, I've got Nank up forward so would lose the Ruck/Fwd swing. Running Sandiwitts so quite important

I'll wait it out next week and sideways to the best available rookie

    Phil · 26/03/2017 at 10:06

Majak out with selection I believe

      Rowdz · 26/03/2017 at 10:37

      Majak played for Werribee yesterday

Neverweaken · 26/03/2017 at 10:54

What time in the game did St Nick have his knee injury? To still get 105 is not bad. Hopefully nothing major.
And will swallow be ok for next week. Got caught with him. Luckily put Taranto as emergency afterwards. Missed the window when we could change him. Would have traded and gone with HorlinSmith
Got to love this game. All week Selword or Hannas. Selwood or Hannas. Have gone with Selwood

    dave · 26/03/2017 at 10:59

it was at the very end of the game

Top Hawk · 26/03/2017 at 11:05

Hi community,

Another Harley Balic update. Balic had another blinder for Peel Thunder in the WAFL yesterday. (Peel Thunder destroyed East Fremantle by an lazy 86 points 126-40). Balic ended up being BOG with 33 disposals, (17 kicks, 16 handballs), 3 marks, 2 tackles, 3 inside 50"s, and a goal!

After his 30 disposals last week, Balic is getting very close to being named in the Dockers side IMO. High on my watch list. This kid can play. Welcome!

      Finnius123 · 26/03/2017 at 12:20

Luke444 · 26/03/2017 at 12:11

Is it just me or are we seeing some massive scores this 1st round… Martin 159, Heppell 152, Pendlebury 146, Murphy 138, Rockliff 137, Kennedy 134, Jones 132, Gawn 128, Johanniven 126, Merrett 126, Wines 125, Franklin 125, Ebert 124, Goddard 123, May 123, Kreuzer 121, Hogan 120, Bontempelli 120. The list goes on…

    Luke444 · 26/03/2017 at 12:12

Not to mention still 3 games to be played still you could add another 10 to players scoring over 120

    Derek · 26/03/2017 at 14:28

I was thinking the opposite. Waiting for a monster score

    Dawson yet to play

      Derek · 26/03/2017 at 16:05

      There you go. Lazy 179

Steve · 26/03/2017 at 12:12

How do u do the loop

    Rosco · 26/03/2017 at 12:26

You need a non-playing player. Make them an Emergency. Pick a VC you think will score well. If they score over 130 take their score by bringing your non-playing E onto the field and make them Captain. Then the player you swapped them with make an Emergency. That way you get your VC score as well as still getting your emergency's score as well.

      Steve · 26/03/2017 at 12:49

      Cheers Rosco

Rosco · 26/03/2017 at 12:18

Otten or Hibberd? Who should I get as my D6. Really torn on this. I am worried about Otten's job security but would probably prefer him.

    Luke444 · 26/03/2017 at 12:27

    Otten IMO

Cliffy · 26/03/2017 at 12:28

Hey guys,

Hibberd or Parfitt for final Mid spot after SPP yesterday, and Stewart or Otten in D6? Thinking Otten more likely there.

    Cliffy · 26/03/2017 at 12:33

Oh just for further information, I'll be having all 4 of those guys in my team, this is a question about who to start out of those combos.

    phil · 26/03/2017 at 13:06

    Hibberd & Otten

Higgins and 113k in bank
Or should I upgrade to JJK AND LEAVE 10k

    Thommo88 · 26/03/2017 at 13:07

I'd go JJk. Finish #1 overall forward scorer last year.

    Neverweaken · 26/03/2017 at 15:09

Did you upgrade to JJK. hope so

Thommo88 · 26/03/2017 at 13:06

Have Taranto. Traded in McCarthy for swallow.

Hold McCarthy or look at Horlin-Smith.

124k in the stash.

    Finnius123 · 26/03/2017 at 13:23

Mcarthy. Horlin-Smith is no where near as good as Swallow. You are better off saving your cash for other upgrades later when we get a better view of the comp.

      Thommo88 · 26/03/2017 at 14:12

Thanks for the reply Finnius. Traded swallow out with the news of his withdrawal from last night game. Moving Parfitt to MID and Mccarthy in.

Only reason I am weighing up between the 2. As I am unsure how long swallow we be out for(maybe back by next week) but have lost faith in hid
S body as I also have JOM

Danger or Fyfe for Captaincny

Don't Get It · 26/03/2017 at 14:29

Goldy had 24 pts just before 1/4 time then was rolled back to 10, now he sits on 29 points ? Is it hit outs to advantage hurting him as WC look like they are sharking the ball off his first use ?

Matt · 26/03/2017 at 14:34

Does anyone have a heat map or SOMETHING that tells me why hanners was so pathetic? 80 points between him and JPK, and when I was tossing up between them all pre-season this has got me bloody ropeable!

    Cameron · 26/03/2017 at 14:41

Just had a bad game simple as that, he will bounce back next week

    Wedge · 26/03/2017 at 14:47

Rain in the second half seemed to effect him. JPK thriving from half time. Swans looked slow all over. I think looking forward too much to doggies next week and port at home was an easy win.

      Brandon · 26/03/2017 at 16:38

Hannas got a head knock in the third qtr I think it was and spent a fair bit of time off and just looked a touch off in general imo

    Soslow · 26/03/2017 at 18:37

Hanners needs to go back on the terps.

Wedge · 26/03/2017 at 14:40

        Derek · 26/03/2017 at 17:34

The hawks kicking was awful. Yep, will be a tough year if they don't sort that out.

As soon as I saw Cyril with strapping on his thigh, I knew I'd made a mistake.

I didn't see the norf game to see how Simpkin played

      Petrolhead · 26/03/2017 at 16:59

Don't be a smart****e. I don't have Laird either but the SC scoring must be fixed or more SCers will be lost.

It's obviously wrong scores have been wrong all weekend

    Moosehead · 26/03/2017 at 17:23

    Jock Reynolds old son.
Maybe you can intervene and do some investigations into the scoring system. Too late for this weekend but it the haphazard scoring continues, people will be turned off SC and that will impact negatively on your business.

Jack · 26/03/2017 at 16:44

So apperantly Laird is being outscored by Devon Smith at HT who has had 4 touches compared to Lairds's 19. Seems legit….

Defying · 26/03/2017 at 17:05

when you have Otten and Hampton on field…

Laird 29 possies to 3/4 time, 72 points.?!?! WTF.

    Youngster · 26/03/2017 at 19:49

At the end of every SC game they get scaled up/down relative to other players. So I never get worried by "live stats" because they can never be accurate.

    Mitchell Hibberd23
    Jake Barret46
    Tim Taranto44
    Joel Smith23
    Curtly Hampton50
    Andy Otten45

I wonder if this was the year for "mid price madness" because going the Guns and Rookies path has left me with stuff all cash and stuff all points.

If you (like me) are waiting for these blokes to appreciate enough to get another keeper, it could be a long season…

First trade out candidate already decided: Joel Smith (thanks for nothing)

      John James · 27/03/2017 at 00:18

In defence of Joel Smith he did get injured 15 min into the 1st Q thanks to bloody Roo slamming into his back and then landing on him,up till then he was playing really bloody good.

    Bells E Bubb · 26/03/2017 at 22:16

At least with Florent it was poor delivery to him. 3 or 4 times he got wide open and ready to do damage only for kicks to miss him or get him crushed.
Add Hibberd to my list of dud rookie scores.
Looks like Smith to Mcgrath and Reiwoldt to …someone not Buddy or JJK for me this week.

      stompers · 26/03/2017 at 19:09

      Taylor Adams20K13H33D6M2FF1FA12T

      Only 117SC points.

      Shaw 21K 3H 24D 6M 1 FF got 115 SC points.

Matze · 26/03/2017 at 18:28

Fixed. Rory Laird 147!

    Noirlust · 26/03/2017 at 18:57

147 is still pretty meh. If that was ablett or danger it would be 180+

      Matze · 26/03/2017 at 19:05

Yea my excitement was because it wasn't 115..

      Purple Ninja · 26/03/2017 at 19:10

Names mean more than they should in supercoach scoring. If Rance or Shaw racked up those stats they would get a double tonne.

Tiger Man · 26/03/2017 at 18:29

If lairds score stays at 115 then I'm not wasting my time on SuperCoach this year. Absolute joke

    Tiger Man · 26/03/2017 at 18:32

He went up to 147 thank god

      stompers · 26/03/2017 at 18:42

Who are the the persons behind closed doors that do the scoring?

      Alex · 26/03/2017 at 18:43

Still shortchanged from what was an absolute monster of a game but the original 115 score was just absurd. It could've started an uprising if they didn't get that score at least vaguely representative of his performance. Now let's see how they fark up Fyfe's and Danger's scores. So many would have their C on Danger so they better get that one right or god help us there will be pandemonium.

stompers · 26/03/2017 at 18:32

Just checked Lairds score now 147 and Shaw 118 SC points,

still why did they score Laird 115 SC points earier?

Thomas · 26/03/2017 at 18:38

Where should 2200 rank?

    Youngy · 26/03/2017 at 19:28

Probably puts u around 50,000 maybe…. Don't no its hard to say. Its probably a little above average

    CoachDamo · 26/03/2017 at 19:31

Definitely above average. There'll be some big scores this week if you had the right premos and rookies on field. but there'll also be a lot of sub 2000 scores for players who had Hanners, Cripps, Hickey, Eddy, Pickett, Smith, Otten, Hampton, etc

uDonkey · 26/03/2017 at 18:43

When St. Nick came crushing down yesteday, made me rethink forward structure. Upgraded Higgins to JJK this morning it paid off well even though Higgins scored 100+ I had to see how he goes this week and pick him up next week for St. Nick who is most likely be out for 4 weeks.

Happy so far with all keepers apart from Hanners 52 and Priddis 88.

Now we have some serious problem rookies this season.
There are some have gone 2-0-6 down back, 2 playing Rookies in the mid and fwd. Would be worth discussing our Rookies options in the next podcast. What do ya guys reckon?

TheBlindSpider · 26/03/2017 at 18:44

G'day guys,
Would you take Gawns VC score of 128? Tempted to roll with Danger but my general rule is 125+ and I take it. Just doesn't feel right though?

    Youngy · 26/03/2017 at 18:55

I will be taking the 128. say he scores 150 u are only losing 22 pts. but if he gets injured u lose a lot more.

      Kim · 26/03/2017 at 21:47

It's actually 44 points mate you double the capt score, but I would take the 128 myself if you get greedy it can sometimes come back to bite you on the arse.

        Wedge · 26/03/2017 at 23:05

        128 + 128 + 150 = 406
        150 + 150 + 128 = 428
        428 – 406 = 22

Tommo09 · 26/03/2017 at 18:57

1512 from 16
JPK 134 is will be my C so add 134
So actually 1646 (C) from 16
Danger, Selwood, Fyfe, Sandi, Tuohy, Stewart left

Youngy · 26/03/2017 at 18:58

Is everyone getting there Supercoach Scores from fanfooty? what are the other options?

    iamme · 26/03/2017 at 19:19

With the exception of this week Fanfooty is generally pretty good…..I used to use Supercoach Page facebook until I discovered Fanfooty last season….as Supercoach Paige only give quarter by quarter scores.

Neil demons delight · 26/03/2017 at 19:07

Gonna do an early shake n bake fake move ..Lack of defensive rookies will kill us No good having 6 mid prems and def is rubbish I am going to trade Selwood and the injured Smith for OLIVER and Mc grath plus 130k as a corrective move..Mcgrath definitely the pick of def rookies plus dpp and Oliver though a risk is a beast and future prem Sticking to it

    uDonkey · 26/03/2017 at 19:24

Was thinking the same Neil. I still have 210K in the bank. Wasn't keen on paying 200K+ on Rookies i went with basement rooks and see who is worth keeping or taking in.

I had Oliver at M7 but decided to take out for Florent. And gone with Guns'n'Rookies approach. By downgrading Oliver left me with me 290k+ for corrective trades.

    Youngster · 26/03/2017 at 20:04

I hear you Neil. I'm faced with some kind of premo downgrade to upgrade some of those useless rookies to blokes who will play and appreciate in price.

If I don't free up some cash, I don't know how I can solve this rookie situation if they keep performing like this.

    John James · 27/03/2017 at 00:26

At Oliver's price he is not a risk, had him as my M6 right from the start, keeping him as well,he will end up my M8.

Noirlust · 26/03/2017 at 19:07

Thurlow in for Z Smith

hedski · 26/03/2017 at 19:12

Aahh supercoach you beearch.
@1600 from 18 played.
Hampton, Otten, Taranto and Pickett stinking it up, I'm sure I'm not the lone ranger but its early days.
Funny how a few of them picks that have rolled thru your side all preseason come up trumps and your spewing…
Have Danger (cap), Jelwood, Fyfe and Sandi to come so bout to settle into some CK action (cheers Jock) and watch my cats smash/be smashed by Freo.

    Neil Demons Delight · 26/03/2017 at 19:53

same here Hedski except have parfitt and stewart

      hedski · 26/03/2017 at 20:19

Have them on the pine Neil, looking forward to taking on the DD's in a few leagues this season.

    The Ranger · 26/03/2017 at 21:08

Pretty ordinary start for me too Hedski but it's always the same.
Just gotta hold ya nerve. No chasing the car. Rookie corrective trading only.

      Swans2012 · 26/03/2017 at 21:35

But gee that car looks good though lol

      hedski · 26/03/2017 at 21:47

Exactly Ranger my spine is looking ok.

Derek · 26/03/2017 at 19:19

I'm just looking at the number of stoppages a game. Numbers look even lower than last year.

85, 75, 91, 73, 70, 75, 79, 74

91 was at wet SCG

The effect of the deliberate out of bounds

Ruckmen scores are being effected

    Pauly Walnuts · 26/03/2017 at 19:50

Also all winning scores have been 100 plus , without checking stats that has to up on average , I realise it's only 1 game but there's a trend we need to look at ? Thoughts ?

Bravis Toak · 26/03/2017 at 19:28

Is there a Jock Reynolds Supercoach Group?

    Youngy · 26/03/2017 at 19:45

Yes, the link was posted in the comments of Patch's Panic Room if I remember correctly.

    Youngy · 26/03/2017 at 19:51

Took a little bit of digging but found it. just click on the link

      thanks, mate.

Ugggggh why do we have such a late Sunday game. Going to take even longer to trade out some of these sh1tc*nt rookies! πŸ™

    redgumwon · 26/03/2017 at 20:59

Day light savings in the problem. Perth are now 3 hours behind the eastern states.

michael walters already on 108 points, damn what a pod he wouldve been….

Neverweaken · 26/03/2017 at 19:54

    KEN BRUCE · 26/03/2017 at 20:52

RAAAGGGGEEE TRADE, Im looking at you quinten tarrantino! out the door with your rubbish score!

Bravis Toak · 26/03/2017 at 20:13

Z. Tuohy on 3 at 1/4 time.

Neverweaken · 26/03/2017 at 20:18

Sc is playing silly buggers. Every time I go on its a different figure. Fyfe was 15 now 4???

    BrownlowBoy · 26/03/2017 at 20:39

Don't worry about looking at scores. They are all fixed up after the game during scaling.

Ruggles · 26/03/2017 at 20:37

is andrew mcgrath worth trading in. if so what is the better option.

Omeara down to mcgrath & allowing me to uograde green to kennedy

Green to steel & j smith to mcgrath

    Liam · 26/03/2017 at 20:56

Don;t waste trades with sideways trades.
J.smith to a rookie that you don't have, M.Hannan looks good so far if you can use dpp to get him in.

      Ruggles · 26/03/2017 at 21:07

      Thanks Liam.

Dee · 26/03/2017 at 20:42

1875 from 18, Captains played, disappointing scores from my rookies on the field. Taranto 44, Hampton 50 and Hibberd 23. Ah well, most rookies aren't going too well at all this week……

    Ruggles · 26/03/2017 at 20:51

better than my 1475 from 17 with captain still to play

    crusher · 26/03/2017 at 20:54

about par I think. I am on 1717 with

    Danger (c)

      Dee · 26/03/2017 at 21:12

I was 1466 from 13 before today's games…. bloody rookies killed me today.

Dee · 26/03/2017 at 20:44

What to do with Joel Smith?

    Liam · 26/03/2017 at 20:56

    redgumwon · 26/03/2017 at 21:01

If you don't have a captains loophole he may come in handy for that now with Melbourne draw coming up?

If not there isn't a huge rush to trade him. Look at what option you have and pick the best scoring rooking before the price rise

    Derek · 26/03/2017 at 22:57

    There isn't much to get.

The other Melbourne boy scored ok, he might be a good trade in option

      Dee · 27/03/2017 at 00:13

      M. Hannan's JS?

        Cliffy · 27/03/2017 at 00:31

I've pondered this question since SC opened just before. Might be a handy D6 loophole via Otten/Stewart in my side unless another rookie Defender appears in the coming weeks.

          Cliffy · 27/03/2017 at 00:32

This week that plan could work since both the Crows and Cats play apart from each other with favourable days (Crows on Sat, Cats on Sun).

        John James · 27/03/2017 at 00:32

That would be a yes, scored 96 and only costs $117,300

          Cliffy · 27/03/2017 at 00:34

Hannan was certainly an eye catcher last round, but I won't jump to conclusions just yet off one game. Might wait and see how he fairs in his next game.

            Cliffy · 27/03/2017 at 00:37

However it's hard not to get tempted by going J.Smith – Hannan thanks to my swingsets in Hibberd and Dahl/Macrae/Taranto I can use to make that possible, just not entirely likely yet.

Liam · 26/03/2017 at 20:50

What's par this week ?

I'm on track for 2250-2300 even with Pickett and Hibberd on field.

    The Nank · 26/03/2017 at 20:56

think 2200 will be around par

      Liam · 26/03/2017 at 20:58

Cheers Nank, the next few weeks will start to separate the good and the bad.

        The Nank · 26/03/2017 at 21:04

yeah defiantly. I am on track for about 2250. Which i am happy with on most weeks but hampton and otten let me down and having buttler on the bench

Absolutely no faith in scores this week, at one stage Motlop was 104 20 mins into first qtr, fyfe was on 4 halfway through the second and was listed at 4 disposals whereas he had 13 at this stage.
Still completely bamboozled how beams scored 90 despite being bog and only 2 clangers?
    Just no faith at all.
boy oh boy didn't the rooks drop the ball today 20-50 about the range. Even the dear ones, timmy mate bad time to throw in a turd
GnR would have taken a huge hit.

        Billioux · 27/03/2017 at 02:23

Discount 80% of players that know nought or will never change their team and yes 2285 is par. Top 1000 should be min goal.

2348, a nice start to the year thats to JJK, brakes applied by that spud eddy and tarantino

Undies · 26/03/2017 at 23:01

2322 – I have Roo and J Smith which means 2 injury trades in the first week. Gonna bring Hannon into fwd line and move Bowes to mids and Hibberd to def.
Any suggestions for Roo replacement? I have 23k in the bank, no sure if I can afford Kennedy. Have Higgins, Dal, Nank and Butler.

    Undies · 26/03/2017 at 23:07

Hahah Kennedy is cheaper – he's coming in next week for Roo.

    Juzzy · 26/03/2017 at 23:22

    Yeah Mate,

The upside is you can trade in any fwd for Nick. Buddy, Macrea, Lynch etc …
Or you can downgrade to Steele and pocket the cash.

Just a B**ch to have to blow a trade.

      Undies · 26/03/2017 at 23:38

      Yeah it sucks ass mate,
Im thinking that it has to be another premium for Roo though or else you blow this trade and potentially another one if the mid pricer fails. I had Kennedy at F1 for the entire JLT series, I'm spewin!!

    sharmanism · 27/03/2017 at 01:24

I'm in the same boat and have gone roo to Steele and Smith to Jones

Juzzy · 26/03/2017 at 23:07

Lucky enough to score 2352.
Got N.Roo and Smith though … plus all the bench rooks who look like appreciating by $6.50 after 3 rounds.

I ain't gonna do it but I'm getting a bit of mid priced madness. Roo down to Touk. Smith up to Tuohey.

Somebody please talk me out of it. It won't take much …

      Juzzy · 26/03/2017 at 23:31

Almost got me considering Buddy and Greene again.

Didn't wan't to be considering that after round 1.

    Browncow · 26/03/2017 at 23:26

Never trade round 1 unless a premo is out for 3 weeks or more. You know the rules Juzzy. This coming from a man who just went 1988 with Swallow, Florent, Simpkin and Taranto on field. Mid price is not madness this year.

      Juzzy · 26/03/2017 at 23:43

Great advice. And I am sorry for your pain.

      Tomorrow is a new day.

        Touk tuk · 26/03/2017 at 23:51

I got roo and smith. Trading roo out, swing nank to the fwd line and get gawn in to R1.

Gona wait untill end of round 2 to decide on smith

      Derek · 27/03/2017 at 08:47

I knew the rookies were bad, but…,,,,

        Coach111 · 27/03/2017 at 10:09

I say its alright to trade your premos. Im trading neale (mistake to start with him given his role) to pendles. I've always used one or two corrective trades (sideways if needed) and Ive finished in top 100 two out of the last three years.

        Shake n bake · 27/03/2017 at 12:35

    Dildor · 27/03/2017 at 10:15

Not alot of talking you out of it here. It's week 1, restrain yourself. Wait for an update on the injuries before making a knee jerk move. Id suggest roo to kennedy if he is out for more than a week, looked dangerous all night even with limited possessions, looks likely to win the coleman for a third straight. I actually wasn't all that impressed with Tuohey, but i guess 102 aint bad.

Westy · 26/03/2017 at 23:10

2267 atm Eddy and Smith the unfortunate ones.

Tophawk · 26/03/2017 at 23:11

Just got home from Freo-Geelong match. Freo bloody sh-t. Nothing new, and more of the same. Hawks not much better last night either.

Off to a steady start in SC this year although round 1 probably slightly below par. 2231.

The main thing is my nucleus of premos/pods pretty much all did OK. Missed the JJK pick. Went for Riewoldt instead. If Roo is out for more than two, it will simply be a switch corrective trade. Other than that, roll on round 2! Welcome.

    tophawksaknob · 27/03/2017 at 11:04

you know 'welcome' is not a standard farewell?

Redd · 26/03/2017 at 23:30

2232 with pickett taranto and Hibberd on field happy with my start spewin i left pendles out

crusher · 26/03/2017 at 23:35

when does lockout finish

Holty · 26/03/2017 at 23:37

Well already keen to sideways trade cripps to pendles. But i wont. Must be strong and keep the faith in my selected premiums.

    Juzzy · 26/03/2017 at 23:52

    Tempting, Tempting, Tempting.

    But Don't.

    John James · 27/03/2017 at 00:38

Do it ,Pendles is way above Cripps,I call it an upgrade.

    Michael · 27/03/2017 at 02:46

Nothing wrong with a corrective trade…look at the winner last season trading out premiums in Barlow and Rockliff after just 2 rounds. As long as u trade to a keeper.

    Northernsoul74 · 27/03/2017 at 08:11

In the same boat but don't have the cash to trade to Pendles. Think I'll hold a week and give Cripps 1 more.

    Russ in W.A · 27/03/2017 at 19:50

I normally wouldn't advice a sideways trade after round one Holty but Pendles is way above Cripps and Cripps is way underdone to start the season and could take awhile to get going, damaging your overall rank for several weeks.

      Russ in W.A · 27/03/2017 at 19:51

      I meant advise, not advice.

Dee · 27/03/2017 at 00:20

Cliffy · 27/03/2017 at 00:47

2,221 for me to start up this season. Certainly not bad, but not perfect either with some rookie onfield messups ah well. Happy with JPK as my VC loophole this round too. Excited to get stuck into my first dilemma this season too in the form of Joel Smith this week.

    Russ in W.A · 27/03/2017 at 19:55

Good start Cliffy, better than me lol

Defying · 27/03/2017 at 01:03

I want hannan and butler, yet I am stuck with taranto and mccarthy

    Northernsoul74 · 27/03/2017 at 08:09

Only week 1. They are as likely to spud it up next week. McCarthy is an issue, I have no idea why anyone would have picked him, his scoring potential is so limited.

Keenbutclueless · 27/03/2017 at 01:41

Interesting that this week's winning team didn't have Danger or Adams.

    Keenbutclueless · 27/03/2017 at 01:42

    Or Gawn.

Choice · 27/03/2017 at 02:35

Terrible week
Hannebery, bad JLT scores and real bad score 1st game
Riewoldt injury
Rookies all terrible for me except butler
Not confident with Hannebery, so looking at trading out, bringing adams in the mids and bringing in Laird.
Riewoldt to Kennedy

    Rick Grimes · 27/03/2017 at 03:53

Knee jerk reaction. Hanners is a gun. Don't chase last week's points.

    Dogs · 27/03/2017 at 09:59

I went JPK over banners, but o know next week their scores could be reversed. Hold onto your premiums, only trade if injured or suspended. Otherwise end of the season you'll regret it when you gave no trades for finals.

Rick Grimes · 27/03/2017 at 03:55

People holding Reiwoldt?

    sharmanism · 27/03/2017 at 07:39

    Not me.

Riewoldt to Steele and Smith to Jones.

I feel that I can't afford to have 550k sitting on the bench and am concerned that when Riewoldt returns his injury may hamper his scoring.

Both Steele and Jones running through the middle look like my best options. While bringing in another premium for Riewoldt would be ideal if feel Steele and Jones offer the best bang for buck for my team.

    Boltons Blues · 27/03/2017 at 07:51

Nope, can't trust eddy/picket to hold his spot for the next couple of weeks, 560k sitting there isn't ideal either

      Dee · 27/03/2017 at 11:28

Alex · 27/03/2017 at 06:19

2270. Happy with that but I'm pretty sure lots of rookies will be dropped so it could be a very thin bench next week! Hold st nick too so looks like he needs to move on.

The BONT · 27/03/2017 at 07:12

Is everyone so much higher than me because of on feild rookies or selecting the right premos because my only bad ones were Docerty, McRea and Dalhous

    johnno2908 · 27/03/2017 at 07:26

Did you have Nank, Pendlebury or JPK? All popular selections that scores well and I had none haha. I ended up with 2174, not great but it's only week 1. Hannebery and Caddy were shit

    Russ in W.A · 27/03/2017 at 19:58

What did you end up getting Bont?….maybe you went with too many midpricers and not enough Premo guns?

The BONT · 27/03/2017 at 07:24

How do i get rid of Jake barret and Otten on my feild with only $1000
What are my trades this week

DEF: Docerty, Shaw, Laird, MARCH, Hampton,Otten (Stewart, Smith)

MID: Danger, JPK, Treloar, Fyfe, Mitchell, Beams, P-Pepper ,Barret ,(Parfitt, PICKETT, Hibberd)

Ruck: Grundy, Sandi (Strnadica)

FWD: Dahl, McCrae, Lynch, Roughie, Taranto, Butler (Huston, Eddy)

    Neil Demons Delight · 27/03/2017 at 08:35

Who are you going to get in The only good one is Hannan and believe me one bad game and out..Get your dpp s rite. like me def is weak and mids bench too . Bet anything good players will know the relevance of the rooky situation and will act.Unless the rooks come good guns and rooks will flounder and good performing mid pricers of which there were plenty will prevail Murphy Oliver Beams those types . All my 12 premiums did well but I question whether I need 12.

    Russ in W.A · 27/03/2017 at 20:01

I wouldn't get rid of anyone until after next week, Barrett and Otten can play.

Tommo09 · 27/03/2017 at 07:43

Who do I trade Smith out for?
Have 160k and no swing
Have Hampton, often, Stewart, Hibberd

    macca · 27/03/2017 at 08:19

get marchbank if you want to make that trade the kids a gun and will get plenty of ball cos the ball spends 100% of the time in carltons back half

      Tommo09 · 27/03/2017 at 15:47

      Only have 160k

    Neil Demons Delight · 27/03/2017 at 08:20

Tommo IF you are like most of us guns n rooks suffered Only two ways out .There is no replacements. one corrective trade of a good prem for a performing two mids e.g. Fyfe for McGrath and murphy. or two. nothing relax its only R1 rooks will come good . Whatever make sure you have good swings you will need them cheers

      Moustachio · 27/03/2017 at 22:42

      Lol don't trade Fyfe

Boltons Blues · 27/03/2017 at 07:56

Only one positive selection for me this week in what is my worse score in the last 4 years of SuperCoach, Sandilands, Nankervis and Witts in my 3 ruck spots
The rest, garbage

camdnz · 27/03/2017 at 08:21

I want to get Pendlebury in. My Prem mids are JPK, Danger, Treloar, Fyfe, T Mitchell and Hannebery. Who do I upgrade?

    Mich · 27/03/2017 at 08:25

I wouldnt bother. Trading out a healthy player after round 1 is not a smart move

    Harry H · 27/03/2017 at 08:32

Yeah I wouldn't panic trade after 1 week

      camdnz · 27/03/2017 at 09:22

Thanks – will leave as is for now. Cheers.

    Burnmen · 27/03/2017 at 23:56

    Hannebery because he scored poorly.

Then in a couple of weeks when pendles gets 80 and Hanners gets 150 trade back.

H-Lee · 27/03/2017 at 09:11

Riewoldt to only miss 1-2 weeks according to, worth keeping on bench to aviod burning trade?

    Touk tuk · 27/03/2017 at 09:35

Im trading him. At his age i dont think it will only be a 1-2 weeks. Even if he comes back he will loose some value i rekon

      Tibor · 27/03/2017 at 10:37

As good as he is his history of pain tolerance ain't great when he does come back be it two weeks or more does he play sore and restricted with a very diminished point output, thinking of pulling the trigger early considering he pays for any other forward, JJK??

      Rooster XXX · 27/03/2017 at 11:22

What does it matter if he loses value?
If somebody is retaining him and waiting a week or two for his return his value is irrelevant as he is a keeper.
Given the injury happened late in the game and Roo still "raised the bat" for a 100+ score, it's not as if he is going to be saddled with a massive BE after he plays his second game.
Furthermore not sure is age is relevant in relation to his likely return date – knee has been cleated structurally? Also your claim he has low pain tolerance is a sweeping statement if ever I have read one – this is a bloke who has proved very resilient and gets up week to week despite having a degenerative knee issues. Also recall him recovering and defying all medical advice and playing with significant pain to get up for his late sisters Maddies foundation game last year against Richmond. Roo is the ultimate professional and will tick every box to be back as soon as possible. Saints and Roo have final aspirations so he will be doing all he can to be back on the park ASAP. I think he is a hold wouldn't be at all surprised to see him back by RD 3.

    Neverweaken · 27/03/2017 at 14:25

It's frustrating. 4 weeks off definitely trade. 2 weeks off definitely keep. But will it be 2 weeks or will it creep out to 4.
If I trade I will switch Nank to forward line and bring in Gawn.
Or move Steele to Forward line and bring in Adams (don't ask why I don't have him)
Tempted to trade (in fact I already have)
Gut says StKilda will play it very safe and be at least 3. Or if he comes back he won't be a 100+ score for a couple more weeks after that. Just my gut. Which has been so so wrong so far.

Neil Demons Delight · 27/03/2017 at 09:12

Panic trading after one round is surely not on .I think we must give the selectors a go and the kids themselves .There is not a lot of harm done yet because it affected all. In the Jock Reynolds Rank which most of us are in there are many good names at the lower end.I was smack in the middle and if we get a mean average it works out to 2150 of the JRR ONLY. Injuries maybe trade probably Nick for JJK But stick fat I REVERSED ALL

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 27/03/2017 at 11:07

I saw enough on Sat night to realized I made a huge mistake and didn't start Gawn.
Pretty much 130 in 3 qtrs.
Gonna bring him in this week I if the Nank can score 110 against Kruz what is Gawn gonna do to them?
Oliver in the mids (SPP on bench) upgrade Ryder to Gawn. Turner at F6.
Bring SPP onto the ground at M8, swing Ryder fwd and upgrade fwd rookie to Gawn.
    Think I Iike option 2.

      Shake n bake · 27/03/2017 at 12:42

Option 2 Trigg for what it worth.

pistol27 · 27/03/2017 at 09:14

Do not like making trades early, but was very concerned by hamptons game at D4. didn't look like a keeper in that adelaide side. Am considering the following: Lloyd and Hampton out. Marchbank and Z. Jones in. Nothing wrong with Lloyd but would need the cash to make those trades happen. Any thoughts?

    WhatsaFtumch · 27/03/2017 at 09:42

I was at the Crows game and didn't think Hampton was that bad…gives them pace and he will get better and should still make cash. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't keep his spot because he can play anywhere between half back and half forward. I will be keeping him at this stage, although I already have Marchbank so that's not my problem. I'm stuck with J Smith and I don't see many defensive rookies to choose from apart from McGrath who's very expensive (have Stewart, Otten and also Hibberd in my mids) and Eddy and Taranto in my forwards who didn't exactly set the world on fire. I would maybe wait another week to see who's worth jumping on.

    INPieman · 27/03/2017 at 09:46

I'd wait for a 2nd week of data before making any decisions. And unless your convinced Jones will be a top 8 defender I wouldn't bother. Because you'll trade him again later. If Marchbank produces another big score you might want to engineer him into your team. I wasn't overly impressed with Hampton either, but it was a tough match with high quality opposition. Give him another week. Rage trading after 1 week will always lead to regret

      pistol27 · 27/03/2017 at 10:06

INPieman and Whatsa that is some seriously well considered advice. I'm liking both of you alot. Makes complete sense. Woke up today to a screenshot of a mate inside the top 2% and lost my perspective. TRADE! No, I will wait. Jones is probably not going to be top 8 defender, although he is in some seriously good form and I really liked Marchbanks game. Turned the ball over a few times but still scored high nineties. Could easily been over the ton. Thank you…

        INPieman · 27/03/2017 at 10:25

I think if Marchbank picks off all those intercepts again he really needs to be strongly considered. My philosophy is not to trade in round 2 unless it's a long term injury. For example if Nick Reiwoldt is out for 4-6 I'd trade him. 30 trades looks like a lot right now but soon it won't

Steeeve · 27/03/2017 at 09:41

Okay everyone calm your farms.
Let's wait until teams are announced next week before we make any trades.

    INPieman · 27/03/2017 at 10:30

Seb · 27/03/2017 at 09:48

Getting all different news on rooey, is he out for 1-2 weeks or 4-6???

INPieman · 27/03/2017 at 09:49

2261 for me. Not bad. A little embarrassed my 8 year son beat me. But he picked JJK Buddy & Bont. He's sleeping outside for the rest of the week

    Dildor · 27/03/2017 at 10:08

2266 here, pipped you by 5, and without the 4 highest scoring players this week im pretty happy.

      INPieman · 27/03/2017 at 10:21

My young bloke knocked you over as well. I missed some of the big scoring players as well. But that changes week to week

    Deeboss · 27/03/2017 at 11:30

hahaha you're a funny man Pieman, I just eclipsed your score with 2285. Have you got Taranto and Smith mate?

    Russ in W.A · 27/03/2017 at 20:05

Haha hopefully you'll give him a Tent Pieman, or at least a blanket lol

WhatsaFtumch · 27/03/2017 at 10:30

Well at least he didn't beat you in the league prelim like my 8 year old did last year Pieman! And he went on to win our league…hasn't let me forget it yet either…had the audacity to ask me if I needed any advice this year before we picked teams the cheeky little bugger!
Oh well, at least I've got one up on him this year…I scored 2252 on the weekend, he scored 2183…there's a healthy rivalry brewing

    INPieman · 27/03/2017 at 10:48

That's fantastic. He's not playing in any of my leagues in case that happens. Mine already knows how to do captains loophole because he saw me doing it all last year. At the end of last year he was telling me who to captain as well. I realised he was ready to step up with his own team. Thanks to footy cards the kids can tell you the height & weight of every player just about

      WhatsaFtumch · 27/03/2017 at 11:06

Yeah, well, I'm already worried he's got a better balanced team than me at this stage..he has Simpson and Shaw at the back to my Doc and Adams…both have Laird…the rest (Marchbank, Hampton & Stewart are the same except I have Otten and he has Hibberd)…He has Hanners, Rockliff & Selwood to my Treloar, Priddis & Hall, he has Gawn & Sandi to my Martin & Sandi, and I went midprice with Higgins & Steele to go with Dahl & Franklin and he went Roughy and picked Hannan…he's projected to outscore me by 59 this week…I'm worried!

INPieman · 27/03/2017 at 10:30

I really wanted to role the dice on Mitch Hannan but decided against. I watched him on Saturday. There was a reason they brought him in without a preseason game. He's a gun. If he produces another game like that next week he's an absolute MUST have & someone will be making way for him. Given the rubbish scores the bench rookies put up I suggest anyone reading this have a close look at Hannan next week. Our great community member Throttlefinger had him at F6 on Saturday, a masterstroke!

    Steeeve · 27/03/2017 at 10:54

Toughest decision might be which rookie to flick for Hannan. They're pretty much all on the chopping block at this point!

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 27/03/2017 at 10:59

      Hannan or Butler?
You could be like BVC and start both on field! Bang.

    WhatsaFtumch · 27/03/2017 at 11:10

I'll be watching him very closely…looks like an obvious upgrade on Eddy if he can back it up

    BrownlowBoy · 27/03/2017 at 13:24

F5 for me with F6 Butler!

    neil Demons Delight · 27/03/2017 at 15:02

As a demon member he got past me INP .mighty embarrassed but hardly ever pick dees anyway except the great one GAWNY. I do know a bit about Mitch though For those old enough he is a poor mans Royce Hart THE WAY HE ATTACKS THE BALL LIKES to float across the pack .Took mark of the year a Moorcroft type. Seen him in the GF last year and wanted him and smith and we got both. I preferred Tim Smith but this kids got guts. get him in

Ants Pants · 27/03/2017 at 10:37

Is it a good idea to swap Jeremy Howe for Laird and/or Tom Lynch for Josh Kennedy?

    INPieman · 27/03/2017 at 10:49

Why on earth would you do that!

    Steeeve · 27/03/2017 at 10:54

That is a bad idea and you should feel bad.

      Ants Pants · 27/03/2017 at 14:18

      I feel bad

        Russ in W.A · 27/03/2017 at 20:13

Lol, don't feel too bad mate, it's like a chess game, try to think 5 moves ahead (5 weeks ahead) you wanna end up with as many keepers ( top scorers) on each line going into finals, sideways trading early is a recipe for disaster.

          Ants Pants · 27/03/2017 at 20:51

thanks Russ in W.A, your words of wisdom have helped me become a better supercoach player today

    Neverweaken · 27/03/2017 at 14:29

If you didn't start with Kennedy don't get him yet. Can easily come back with a 75. The 174 was 7 goals straight. Unlikely to do that every week. I started with him. But didn't start with Buddy. Will watch for a while. But with Roo out may get Buddy cos the same bye.

    Lach · 27/03/2017 at 14:44

No.. that's the complete opposite of a good idea mate.

      Ants Pants · 27/03/2017 at 17:30

      Cheers mate

    Frankstonphil · 27/03/2017 at 19:10

Lynch played well but was held well by Harris Andrews, he will be a top 8 forward.

    Moustachio · 27/03/2017 at 22:45

Yes, if you dont get Laird you will miss 150 SC every week.

WhatsaFtumch · 27/03/2017 at 11:17

Not that I'm considering it because I know the golden rule is never trade a premo unless they get a LTI, but does anyone think that maybe Priddis will drop off a bit now that Sam Mitchell has joined the WC midfield? I figured that it might free him up a bit but I'm a little worried that Sammy may get some of his ball now and that Gaff and Shuey will prosper instead…I will stick to him for now but an 88 for him did make me do a double take…anyone watch the game? (I was at the Crows game and didn't see him go round to tell whether his role has changed)

    Steeeve · 27/03/2017 at 11:47

He might drop off a bit because he is 33 years old tomorrow.

    RobDog · 27/03/2017 at 19:14

He will drop because he doesn't kick and this year he has no decent ruckman feeding him. Mitchell accumulates and has worked off opposition ruckmen for years. Priddis has been spoonfed by quality tap work and my call is this was not the year to pick him.

    Russ in W.A · 27/03/2017 at 20:10

I watched the game, he kinda looked old and tired and a bit uninspired.

murray · 27/03/2017 at 13:14

what do i do with hickey? Dont have any cash cows yet to upgrade him, so do I downgrade to say Witts, make $250k and upgrade a spud like Pickett to a Steele. Thoughts please would be greatly appreciated

Neverweaken · 27/03/2017 at 14:33

What is with the panic trades of Rookies. It's one week. We all said this year that rookies are a concern. They will get better. Will just be slower than in previous years. Or more volatile. Butler may score 30 next week. Am I gonna trade him out? No way.

NEIL Demons Delight · 27/03/2017 at 15:24

I remember a few years back Tex went big 175 I think .I paniced and bought him in early doors. He spudded for the whole year ..and I kept him.Wont happen with JPK but DONT CHASE HIS SCORE

    DavidSA · 27/03/2017 at 17:52

Agree on the point of chasing scores but for NRoo holders not the worst selection Kennedy has been one of the best key position fwds for last 4 years that holds a lot of weight

Rocksta · 27/03/2017 at 15:51

Rookie corrective trades are okay all, infact probably required. Not until rd 3 though!
You should only trade this week if you have an LTI to deal with.

murray · 27/03/2017 at 16:23

Should I give Hickey one more chance?

    RobDog · 27/03/2017 at 19:06

Yep, you picked him for a reason, wait at least until the Round 3 price change, then a corrective or two if you need to. Is a long season and trades will run out in no time if you panic trade after one ordinary game.

      Russ in W.A · 27/03/2017 at 19:54

Agree with Robdog, to wait a bit except I think make your call after round 2, cause prices rise or fall after round 3.

        Murray · 27/03/2017 at 20:06

        Thanks guys

          Russ in W.A · 28/03/2017 at 04:01

Remember also he got smashed by the best Ruck in the game, next week he's up against Vardy and possibly Giles so he should do better.

Northerner · 27/03/2017 at 22:44

Everyone please be reminded of 2 things.

Firstly. The scores this week only go into prices for one week. Unlike the regular season where a poor score will go into the calc 3 times. So JJK will only get a little increase in his score from this week. This coming week the scores will count twice so scores this week are more important.

Second. Be careful with breakevens this week. They are showing breakevens for week 3, not this week. The current break even assumes the player gets the projected score this week. So Butler's break even will only be -124 if he scores 96 again.

Likewise, Treloar's BE will only be 142 if he scores 101.

Northerner · 27/03/2017 at 22:51

I have Smith. The smart play is to wait for another data point this week and then pick who to trade him to.

The riskier move would be to trade in Marchbank to get his point scoring for this week – I have the cash.

    Russ in W.A · 28/03/2017 at 04:12

There really aren't many options to trade him to..if he's out for months I don't see the point in waiting an extra round. If you can afford Marchbank I'd get him in for the points. I might do the same with McGrath. Berry is sposed to only be a week away also, whether he gets a game or not I don't know, but there sure aren't many options in the backline.

Kasper · 28/03/2017 at 09:19

Hey community – do I pull the trigger and get rid of Pickett for Hannan or Butler now or wait a round to see if they come back to earth???
