Supercoach 2016 midpriced forwards

G’day Community,

This week I take a look at some PODs for anyone lucky enough to have trades left.

Next week will be the final Cheat Sheet but I’m hoping it won’t be the last time you hear from me haha.

If you’ve got any suggestions for what I should do post-supercoach season, let me know because I’ve gotta convince Jock to keep letting me sleep in the bungalow.

As we approach the end I wish everyone in the finals good luck and for those pushing up the ranks (not me after last week) may the fantasy gods shine upon you.

Supercoach Cheat Sheet

Silver Fox · 17/08/2016 at 14:57

I have 2 trades left and at full premo. Should i trade Bartel to Heath Shaw? I already have Broadbent as cover on the bench.

    CapTkAoS · 17/08/2016 at 15:06

I've had Shaw all year. Ordinarily it would be a straightforward trade. But Shaw's form isn't scoring at his normal high numbers. There is upside, no doubt. But on current form it looks like a sideways trade to me.

      I N Pieman · 17/08/2016 at 15:44

Shaw has had 1 ton & 5 scores under 90 in the last 7 weeks. Only pull that trade if Bartel gets rested again

    Moustachio · 18/08/2016 at 12:33

If going for overall, pull the trigger. Otherwise I would wait.

CapTkAoS · 17/08/2016 at 15:02

Nice work once again Lek.
2 trades left and very little cash. Is it crazy to trade Goldy out for Nic Nat to make just enough cash to upgrade Petracca to Dahl?

    SCaddict · 17/08/2016 at 15:55

Definitely worth considering as Tracc to Dahl would likely be a substantial upgrade with the Dogs remaining draw and Dahl regaining match fitness.

Though I would probably still keep Goldy as NicNat's score on the weekend was artificially boosted by that game winning kick. When NicNat played the Hawks in Rd2 he only managed 80 from 67% TOG and Goldy registered 112 against the Swans in Rd10.

So maybe just cash out a bench rookie (if you can) to fund your Dahl upgrade instead??

    LEKD0G · 17/08/2016 at 16:38

Not crazy my friend, sometimes we must push the envelope to take the next step in our fantasy careers

Derek · 17/08/2016 at 15:27

Great Work Lek. Nice to see you gave JPK a mention. Had 13 100+ scores this year, plus 95, 97, 99, 99, & 95. still only 7% ownership.

    Paul96 · 17/08/2016 at 15:38

Derek, do you think trading in JPK if I make the GF is a bad idea if I already have Hanners and Parker?

      Derek · 17/08/2016 at 16:03

it would be a bold move to load up on so many swans, if they have a easy win you are a genius. However i recall round 21 last year (prelim finals) when i had loaded up on Geelong players and they had a shocker against the Pies, lost 7/8 prelim finals.

If i had Hanners and Parker i wouldn't get JPK at this stage.

      Southern S · 17/08/2016 at 21:00

I know you're asking Derek but I have to chime in and say lock him in people have asked this a lot toward the end of the year and if you did it you wouldn't regret it as all three of parker, hanners and JPK have scored well in recent weeks. Lock him in.

        Derek · 17/08/2016 at 23:55

Yes he is a gun. I also have McVeigh and Buddy (don't have Parker) to me that is too heavy on one team, too many eggs. Like I said before, I had 5 cats in last years prelim team and got cooked. Just be careful

    I N Pieman · 17/08/2016 at 15:50

Derek do you have a JPK poster on your bedroom ceiling?

      Derek · 17/08/2016 at 16:07

i wouldn't mind him still at hawthorn, so having him my supercoach team is the next best

        I N Pieman · 17/08/2016 at 16:09

Did the Hawks get anything for him?

          Derek · 17/08/2016 at 16:27

we got pick 39. the hawks used it to get Sam Grimley.

            I N Pieman · 17/08/2016 at 16:42

Bet the recruiters wouldn't mind having that call again

              TRIGGER HAPPY · 17/08/2016 at 19:40

Another recruiting coup for the swans

            Steeeve · 18/08/2016 at 09:56

Ironically, Grimley would love to get 39 SC points in a single game.

    LEKD0G · 17/08/2016 at 16:39

Cheers mate, he is an absolute gun

john · 17/08/2016 at 15:52

All about vice captains this week as I have no trades left. With Danger and Gawn playing late in the round and my non playing players playing fairly early I have narrowed my options down to. Sloane / Hanneberry or Parker for VC. I can't do big Maxy unless someone who is not injured drops out this week or does not get selected. Thoughts on the best of those three for VC??

    I N Pieman · 17/08/2016 at 16:27

I'd probably go Parker. Although there is a solid case for all of them

      John · 17/08/2016 at 17:03

Thx Pieman / leaning towards Sloane as none of my 3 opponents in my cash leagues have him.

      SCaddict · 17/08/2016 at 19:42

Yes I will likely pick either Parker or JPK for VC duties this weekend

        I N Pieman · 17/08/2016 at 19:45

No interest in buddy this weekend SCA?

          SCaddict · 17/08/2016 at 20:14

Wouldn't rule it out but not sure I like Buddy's chances of producing back to back 140 plus games. He kicked 6 sausage rolls with nearly 30 touches so not sure he can play much better than that.

Might make a game day decision based on the weather conditions. If it's perfect conditions then I may roll out Buddy for VC but if it's slippery or windy at all then will stick with a Swans mid.

How about you? And do you like Danger, Rocky or big Maxy better for captaincy this weekend?

            john · 17/08/2016 at 20:48

            I think Danger is due

              SCaddict · 17/08/2016 at 20:53

Yeah you'd think so. If my VC fails Saturday then will I'll probably consider where I stand Sunday morning in my main league and make the call depending on whether I'm leading or trailing.

Good to have at least 3 decent options on the Sunday I suppose?! Will definitely be going Rocky for C in my DT comps.

              Southern S · 17/08/2016 at 20:56

Danger fights hardest when he needs to in the tough matches, could easily go big, but could just as easily cruise around till finals.

            I N Pieman · 18/08/2016 at 10:03

I've got Jackson Paine. Assuming he doesn't play I do have the option of Gawn into Danger/Rocky. So It will be Buddy or Gawn into Danger/Rocky. I don't mind Buddy into Gawn either

    Southern S · 17/08/2016 at 20:55

Priddis is a smoky VC I'm looking at with nic nat back and a big game in perth vs the Hawks.

      SCaddict · 17/08/2016 at 21:19

He's in good form no doubt about it SS.

I guess my only turn off is that in the past 5 years his highest score against the Hawks has been 113 which isn't exactly VC material. And about half of those games he hasn't even tonned up and even when he did only barely.

Of course past performance is no guarantee of future performance just like those super ads say. 🙂

        Southern S · 17/08/2016 at 21:57

Good point andit's a make or break choice in finals

Peteypie · 17/08/2016 at 16:26

Do you have Buddy?

    John · 17/08/2016 at 17:01

No – my opponents do. All 3 of my opponents don't have Sloane though.

Captain correct · 17/08/2016 at 16:40

SC Class of 2016 (assuming all fit)

DEF: Doch, Simpson, Laird, Shaw, Rance, Enright (Bartel,Boyd)

MID: Danger(C), Pendles, Hanners, JPK, Rocky, Selwood, Gaz, Sloane (Neale,Barlow)

RCK: Gawn(VC), Nic-Nat (Goldy,Loersch)

FWD: Zorko, Dusty, ZMerrett, Wells, Lids, Dahl (Joey,Menadue)

BlackPrince · 17/08/2016 at 17:03

got bartel and rich need to upgrade one of them to boyd – which one community?

    Daz · 17/08/2016 at 19:12

bartel is a keeper, he will bounce back upgrade rich but personally I feel corey Enright is better than Boyd imo.
    Good luck

      pod · 18/08/2016 at 06:45

Same I would trade Rich for Enright or Boyd

confused · 17/08/2016 at 17:17

OK, a little unsure what to do. have just traded petracca for dahlhaus, and now have 3 trades left and $177,300 in the kitty. team is currently:

docherty, shaw, gibson, bartel, laird, m.browm (ruggles, william)
danger, pendles, hanners, parker, sloane, jpk, priddis, gray (menegola, stewart, MacPherson)
gawn, goldstein (grimely)
martin, merret, zorko, montagna, wells, dahlhaus (greene, phillips)

given i have 3 trades, if i don't use the other this week I essentially lose it. not sure what the best move next is. playing in prelim final. thinking maybe updrading one of the forwards or mids to the best available, and then next week trading out menegola and upgrading either ruggles / brown to the best possible defender for that week. but who this week? I cant really think of a fwd or mid to bring in. I could always swap out gray – he's been slightly underperforming. Or could upgrade wells, but not sure who a legit forward option would be? I could also do my plan in reverse (defender this week, others next week), but would be slightly cash constrained this week if i did it this way.

    Daz · 17/08/2016 at 19:08

My thoughts would be to upgrade wells to Franklin as his on fire as late and good form, or use 1 trade to downgrade to get you more $$$$ and if u make the grand final next week use your last 2 trades to go hard and get 2x premo blokes, 1 in def and 1 in mid.
    Good luck

    Derek · 17/08/2016 at 23:59

    Greene to Rance

    Confused · 19/08/2016 at 07:57

Hmm, greene to range could b a good move… Sets up the backline and still leaves 2 trades for the final if I get there to use any way I want.

Steeeve · 17/08/2016 at 17:32

I love how you wrote we shouldn't get sucked in by Wingard next year. Already tempted haha. Averaged 80 this year, 100 the last, 80 before that, 100 before that. Next year is his year! And at a bargain price if he averages 95+.

    LEKD0G · 17/08/2016 at 20:09

    Haha, a pattern emerges

    Southern S · 17/08/2016 at 20:57

    Small forwards and supercoach……….

      Steeeve · 18/08/2016 at 09:59

Yeah he is unfortunately a key forward now. I thought they'd push him up the ground this year since he's a gun but nope the decided to leave him forward, struggle at the stoppages and lose a lot of games.

Off The Bench · 17/08/2016 at 18:06

Don't do it Steeeve….

Don't Blush Baby · 17/08/2016 at 18:55

Thoughts on Priddis as VC on Friday night? I'm in a $100 PP league and my opponent doesn't have him ?

PLUMS on the line ?

    I N Pieman · 17/08/2016 at 19:07

I don't mind it DBB. This is the weekend you pull them out & hope they don't hit the polevaulting bar

      Don't Blush Baby · 17/08/2016 at 20:52

Cheers, not sure if will, will wait after tomorrows teams

I feel there might be a big out somewhere, there is every other year at this time.

      Thnx for commenting anyway

    Southern S · 17/08/2016 at 20:58

Like it may do the same.

    john · 17/08/2016 at 21:04

I had a look there but in the last 3 years against the hawks he did not score well.

      Southern S · 17/08/2016 at 21:58

The stats do say it's a big risk

Daz · 17/08/2016 at 19:04

Hi Lek Dog,
I have 1 trade left with $14k in bank.
All areas are good but I feel my ruck is not, currently have goldy and stef Martin with cox bench, do I upgrade to Nic Nat for stef or save the trade just in case I make the granny? Any other comments?

    Kev · 17/08/2016 at 19:46

Do it, Daz. Stef doesn't play well with others. If Archie lines up again this weekend time for Stef to go

    SCaddict · 17/08/2016 at 20:29

Yes I'd probably dump Stef too unless Smith is dropped this weekend.

I realise NicNat is flavour of the week after his last second heroics but if you have a little bit of cash in the kitty you could also consider Mummy and Grundy who are in excellent form in the back half of the season.

    LEKD0G · 17/08/2016 at 20:44

If Archie or any other ruckman are named do the trade

Flash · 17/08/2016 at 21:02

Don't trust Bartel anymore but not much cash to upgrade and a sideways trade to JJ or Bachar burnman Houli doesnt appeal. I've got 2 trades left is it worth blowing both to downgrade Menapoo to a 102k mid def spud then upgrade Collins to Enright/ Rance. Bartel then becomes D7 (unable to loophole as Brand D8) but can swing into Mid for cover if needed.

    john · 17/08/2016 at 21:19

I have moved Bartel to bench this week for now but may switch back as all my opponents had him last week. Better to match them with him than have him on the bench and he goes large.

      pod · 18/08/2016 at 06:41

Agree John, he's too good to burn this late in season. Playing Lions this week should free him up. Thw majority of Bartel owners will be thinking an offload or bench move but im holding him, he's a friggin champion! C'mon Jimmy!!! That f#%k'n beard needs to go..

        john · 18/08/2016 at 10:03

hahaha agree about the beard – great cause but horrible look

        Moustachio · 18/08/2016 at 12:42

Beard is ironic because when Jimmy serves up 40's for my SC team it makes me want to beat my wife

    Steeeve · 18/08/2016 at 10:04

I have Kade Kolo at D7 as cover, planning to loophole but probably screwed either way!

johnno2908 · 17/08/2016 at 21:15

249 points off Shemm, so a heck of a lot to do in the last 2 weeks. With only 2 trades left should I use both this week or save 1 or both for Grand Final week?

Trade 1: Lycett -> Franklin (F7 Loop)
Trade 2: Collins -> Pittard/Houli as a POD. (D7 Loop)

    killereel · 17/08/2016 at 21:35

    SCaddict · 17/08/2016 at 21:40

Decisions decisions huh? The prospect of looping Buddy this weekend is fairly appetising.

Would probably try and keep one trade for next week as that could be a real competitive advantage if there is a popular ultra premo out with so many coaches already out of trades or burning their last ones this weekend.

First things first is to see what happens with Thursday teams but assuming it's clear skies tomorrow night I like the Buddy loop idea most between those two options.

      johnno2908 · 18/08/2016 at 08:43

It's a dilemma for sure. If North Melbourne somehow manage to get over the line this week or if Melbourne lose to Carlton, could we see Goldy rested against Mummy? That would make things interesting!

        SCaddict · 18/08/2016 at 10:40

We've had a few outs over the past few weeks but we've been relatively lucky with a lot of the super popular premos. There have been no major late outs either in recent weeks.

Surely at least one or two of these guys we all have will miss for some reason or another either this weekend or next? So I'd keep at least one of those trades up your sleeve if you can. Could be worth anywhere from 50-100pts right there.

Otherwise you can always use it as a luxury trade in the final round to get in a premo who has a very favourable match up over one who doesn't if you don't require it to cover a major out.

    Moustachio · 18/08/2016 at 12:44

Would probably go #2, Houli has a higher ceiling. Save 1 trade for next week.

red · 17/08/2016 at 22:49

Will Cripps play?
Any suggestions in case he doesn't?

    SCaddict · 18/08/2016 at 10:52

He seems a true warrior so surely would play even if a little sore with that knock to the knee. I guess the counter argument is that the Blues don't have much to play for in the final fortnight so there's no reason to risk him if there's any kind of question mark there.

Listed as a Test so I guess we'll just have to see later tonight. Andrew McKay seems to believe he'll probably play if that's any comfort?

red · 17/08/2016 at 22:50

Who to VC?
Thinking Gawn

Moggy · 17/08/2016 at 23:19

Need some opinions to make the last two hard choices of the year. It's been a great season ending 2nd and makin the prelims in both of my leagues. I plan to trade up petreca to either Parker or Bont, leaving me one trade and enough cash to also upgrade Hanley next week or later in the round if things aren't going my way to either Neale or JSelwood.

Really appreciate thoughts on which combo to go with. Has to be one of Parker or Bont and then one of Neale, Selwood or Dalhaus. Could also go JPK and Dalhaus.

    pod · 18/08/2016 at 06:30

Moggy you have to get the Bont, he's red hot! Who do your opponents hav? I would assess strengths/weakness and trade accordingly.

DABFC · 18/08/2016 at 00:30

Kept brad all year……… jealous much?

    Moustachio · 18/08/2016 at 12:54

    Not really.

    Davo · 18/08/2016 at 12:56

    Lol nope

    CapTkAoS · 18/08/2016 at 15:24

Nope. There was a price to be paid for keeping him. Nobody likes waiting till August.

Mark · 18/08/2016 at 05:59

1 trade left. Full premo IMO so looking at luxury trades. Do I go Gunston to Dalhaus or Bartel to someone else in my backline? Already have Docherty, Simpson, Shaw, Laird and Gibson.

    pod · 18/08/2016 at 06:14

    Bartel to Rance or Enright

    Kev · 18/08/2016 at 09:44

I'd hold personally. Use to cover injuries/selection issues this week or next.

Stevo · 18/08/2016 at 06:56

1 trade & $36k. Hold or trade.
Rich to Houli/JJ/Bartel or Gunston to Buddy?

    Kev · 18/08/2016 at 09:41

Hold. If you're struggling on Sunday then Rich to JJ

      I N Pieman · 18/08/2016 at 10:18

      Agree with Kev

      Stevo · 18/08/2016 at 12:11

Thanks Kev. Good advice. Best of luck in the finals.

He Man · 18/08/2016 at 07:48

I've got Martin and Gawn as my rucks.
I'm looking at trading Martin out if his not rucking on his own this weekend.
I can pretty much get anyone. Community, who do you recommend?

    Kev · 18/08/2016 at 09:39

If Goldy doesn't interest you then Mumford and Grundy have been in great touch over the past two months.

      Stevo · 18/08/2016 at 12:08

      Thanks Kev.
Good advice & good luck with your finals too

    I N Pieman · 18/08/2016 at 10:17

I'd go Nic Nat. Think that last gasp goal will give him plenty of confidence

Clarky99 · 18/08/2016 at 09:05

Pendles, Hanners or JPK VC? Thinking about putting C on Danger again, but don't want to get burned for the third week in a row. Other options are Sloane, Dahl or even Pendles. Thoughts?

    Davo · 18/08/2016 at 12:54

Sloane VC, Danger Captain. Surely one must kill it

Jimmy Buckets · 18/08/2016 at 09:44

Team 1 OR Team 2 WINS??

1) Rance, Gibbo, Zac Williams, Bont, Ward, Stef Martin, Merrett, Hall

2) Docherty, Bartel, Boyd, Rocky, Steven, Goldy, Gunston, Dahl

I am Team 1 against my opponent this week… I have 2 trades with 86k in the kitty am considering these options below;

Zac Williams –> Docherty
Hall –> Dahlhaus

Martin –> Nic Nat
Petracca –> Dahl (give me elite swing in mids and fwds)

OR just one trade and leave one for GF if I win.

Cheers gents you're all legends!!

    Davo · 18/08/2016 at 12:51

Reckon trade option #2 if you can pull off the loophole.

Might give you the edge you need, because before those trades team 2 is looking slightly better.

jay · 18/08/2016 at 10:03

2 trades, 219K and full premo
in 3 preliminary finals and not sure whether to trade or hold

have wells, steven and ward who i am all thinking about trading to better premos.
also have the opportunity to get a premo on the bench somewhere.
thanks community

    JDP · 18/08/2016 at 11:15

Do 2 upgrades this week to guarantee you make the GF & then you will still have one next week for injury/rest coverage. I would keep Ward out of those 3. Good luck.

      Davo · 18/08/2016 at 12:49

Cant believe people are still doubting wells. He should ton up this week. But depends on what other fwds you are missing.

        Bretto · 18/08/2016 at 14:58

I have Wells still but thinking of potential trade to Franklin – good move or hold? 3 trades left Bartel and Wells only concerns

Dasha · 18/08/2016 at 12:10

most likely gonna loose this week so looking to take some risks with captaincy, who to vc and c out of danger, gawn, priddis, rockliff, martin, goldstein, pendlebury, parker and hannerbery

John · 18/08/2016 at 12:38

Currently sitting in 21st spot and trying for a top 10 finish. 1 trade left. Keep or trade Tom Mitchell?

    Davo · 18/08/2016 at 12:40

Also, how does looping Gawn VC (at halftime) with Dangerfield sound?

      Davo · 18/08/2016 at 12:42

Need to win this week. Thinking of trading steven to hanneberry. Thoughts?

        Jimmy Buckets · 18/08/2016 at 13:28

Steven can go LARGE although so can Hanners and is much more consistent… DO IT epecially if your opponent doesn't have him.

      Davo · 18/08/2016 at 12:45

Would probably trade mitchell, but he hasnt been scoring too badly. He's a up and down type of player sovyou could also just hope for a purple patch from here.

CapTkAoS · 18/08/2016 at 13:04

Next year, what price do all the Essendon pincushions come back at? Will they be discounted heavily for not playing this year or not?

Locked and Loaded · 18/08/2016 at 13:26

Silly to trade Hall this week since we've held onto him for so long?

Not sure he can go big. Scares me

    Kev · 18/08/2016 at 16:51

Nah I don't reckon. Have at least one trade handy for next week but other than that, the rules go out the window

Tim · 18/08/2016 at 16:38

Hey guys.

1 trade left. Need to get rid of Deledio.

Ooponent this week has Zorko & Tom Lynch (GC) and likely GF opponent has Zorko & Dahlhaus. I'm leaning toward Lynch who has Port last round. Any suggestions?

    Kev · 18/08/2016 at 16:48

I'd block Zorko if you don't have him. Or grab Merrett/Dusty if you don't already own them. Dahl facing the bombers this week could go huge

      Tim · 18/08/2016 at 17:01

      Get Zorko? Or Dahl even?

ben · 18/08/2016 at 16:48

1 trade left in 2 prelims in cash leagues. Neither oppos have Shiel.

Tempted to offload to JPK only thing stopping me is already have Parker & Hanners. Is it dangerous to have 3 mids from same team, surely the swans wont lose to North and have Tigers following week so thought it was pretty safe.

Mids – Pendles, Dangers, Selwood, Hanners, Parker, Priddis, Sheil, R Gray.

Reckon Sheridan will go to Sheil and he has been stinking it up for 4-6 weeks now.

Any thoughts.

Its a good idea if Sydney blow away their opponents for the next two weeks.

A bit risky, maybe look at Rocky, Crouch or Coniglio?

Trade in Dylan Burrows from gold coast at 102k, gonna get a call up for a late injury.

He's a beast
