The Round 12 AFL Cheat Sheet
G’day Community,
Straight off the bat my advice is to hold trades this week. Some won’t have that luxury but if you do I recommend it. Round 12 is the worst week to trade in my opinion because anyone you bring in will be missing a week really soon. Obviously rookies like Collins or value picks like Rockliff shouldn’t be ignored if they fit into your bye structures but my general advice is to hold your trades and use around 9 throughout the byes.
Please answer the poll below so I can get an idea of who I’m really writing for and comment any suggestions for the cheat sheet below.
Smash it out of the park this round Community!

COACHKINGS FIXTURE FOR THIS WEEK IS IN – CLICK HERE
Loading ...

Rockliff – never again.
Joke's on you when he scores 150 this week. Bet you my bottom dollar. Although, he does love a good injury doesn't he…
Matt Boyd is just as injury prone and look at how many people have him or are brining him in.
SuperCoach is about taking risks, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't
Look at goldstein for example, people bought him right before the Sydney game and look what happened.
Boyd is not injury prone, he is prone to being rested. Rocky has barely played this year and has injured himself 4 times in 2 years. Rocky is a much bigger risk than Boyd.
I don't have either for these reasons
He gets rested before he has niggling injuries. He played half of 2013 and 19 games in 2014.
Boyd is great value but will miss games but people still picked him.
Rockliff might get injured but if he doesn't and you have him in some for, of captiancy, you can get 300+ from his score.
Wouldn't the risk be worth it if you got over 300 from your caption when your opponents might only get 240-280?
haha how is matt boyd injury prone? He's just a lil old and gets rested every now and then
2013 and 2014 ring a bell to you? Oh you didn't do your research. Lol
I do my research watching him every week as a dogs supporter. 2013 and 2014 he was playing a totally different role with probably a higher risk of injury. Even so he still managed 19 games in 2014 which is a normal amount for a 31 year old.
Another thing to add is that Rocky is a lot younger. Boyd missed a few games in 2013, but he was 30 that year. Always a lot more concerning when it happens to a younger guy
My point is that even though he played 19 games. He didn't run out a whole season. Which means in SuperCoach you pick Boyd, you have to expect him to miss games.
Age doesn't mean much if you naturally have injuries I.e Sean rusling, Menzel. Look at boomer, he plays a shit load of games a season and his in his late 30s.
Point is you take the risk, Rockliff is of course risky but it's the old quote high risk, high reward. Just look at that bloke who got over 2600 last week having Rockliff as his captain.
Emotional influences have no place in Supercoach trade decisions.
If he goes BIG and you Don't have him… you're NO Chance to win.
You could say the same thing if he gets Injured early in a game and you have him… You're no chance to win.
Fair debate on this one, personally I'm not going near him – would much rather a Hanners, Pendles, Neale type to finish my midfield
Agree 100%, he burned me twice last year and his papers were permanently stamped "never again". Yes he may smash out some big scores but he's just as likely to break down again.
Def: Shaw, Adams, Docherty, Laird, Tippa, DBJ, (Brown, Byrne)
Mid: Danger, GAJ, Parker, Pendles, Hannebery, Libba, Priddis, Hopper (Keays, Smith, McPherson)
Ruc: Goldy, NicNat (Grimley)
Fwd: Martin, Franklin, Barlow, Hall, Wells, Kerridge (Kennedy, Petracca)
17 trades and $76k left
Rocky and Collins IN
Smith and Brown OUT
Upgrade targets
Def: JJ, Simpson, Boyd
Mid: Neale
Fwd: Zorko, Riewoldt
Thoughts???
I did the exact same trade Rocky for J Smith as I'm short during pies bye round and he wont make much more cash anyway, Brown for collins no explanation needed
Upgrading from
DBJ, Adams, AMT
Libba
Kerridge, Hall/Barlow
What to do if I already have Collins but need to trade Dea?
id keep him for the bye round upgrade after round 13.
Lek have you brought the CHAD?
How many trades does everyone have left?
17 mate.
16
18 after using 2 this week.
ditto
I have 15 after this weeks trades
21 but making two this week. Will leave me three players away from full premo with plenty of premo to super premo upgrades possible.
16 for me, thinking of getting Rocky and Collins in this week
Same
Same.
Same
AMT and Oliver OUT
S.Collins and Hannebery IN
Thoughts??
cant go wrong with hanners good call
Thanks
I'm tossing up between Rockliff and Hannebery for Hewett or J Smith for my my second trade after trading in Collins for either McGovern or AMT. I have 18 trades left so risk with Rocky not too great. Also thinking it may be better to get Hannebery in round 15 after his bye – gives me the option of trading for T Greene (bye rnd 15) and A Hall if they keep spudding it up or Kerridge. Also looking at M Boyd for the same reason (after bye round).
Don't hate it
Had Rockliff back in 2013 before anyone knew much about him.
Won me so many matches.
Was going to pick him up last week but had to get rid of Hartley and brown first.
Bought him in this week and it's a risk but every time I have had him, his paid off.
Wingard is a cherry picker who isn't realible, don't get sucked in to his tons, when his nullified, his very ordinary.
Martin holders should hold, he didn't even had a bad game last week. Majak isn't consistent. I'd rather stick with Martin or even gorringe over Majak.
Yeah wouldn't touch Majak as soon as Goldy is 100% he's gone.
Brilliant job Lek. Im of the same opinion on Rocky. Has burnt me one too many times. Besides may have to trade in ruck cover for Goldy who is uncertain to play this week against Geelong.
Doesn't look like he'll play does it
Why wouldnt you trade Lek. Ive made two downgrades in preparation to go bang bang!
Downgrade to who? Collins would be one but whose the other?
mathieson perhaps
Can downgrade three times next week, wouldnt bring in a premo next week
That's my plan.
trade josh smith to tippet instead of rockliff if nat nui is out?
I changed my mind id rather take the 0 tippet has mumford gawn his bye then bulldogs
exactly! hopefully will go back under 500k and can pick him up post byes as back up
should probably hold only got 13 trades
After the way he performed against Goldy, I would actually back tippet to outscore Mumford and Gawn.
all of his 70s and 60s are against ruckman like Jacobs, goldy, nat nui and mumford
Can I afford to hold Hewett and brown, then trade them in next round instead?
Depends if they play. Both have high breakevens and will lose cash
Hewett I'm holding but hoping he has the week off
Am upgrading Benken this week.
Should i go to dalhaus or tippet who can serve as F6 and ruck cover.
FWD is currently: Zorko, Martin, Hall, Wells, Barlow, Kerridge, Kennedy, Petracca
I'm looking at bringing Tippet in as cover for ruck. He looks like a top 10 forward this year…
I actually prefer Scott Lycett, has been consistent whereas Tippet has over performed against teams with poor ruck stocks
Barlow to tag Rocky??
Will go to Rich just like Curnow last week. Expect a decent game from Rocky
Who should I get in? Selwood or rocklif or Ablett?
Selwood is the safer pick. If you looking for a reliable player that will score over 100 most weeks than choose Selwood but if your looking for an explosive pick player that could score 170's but be inconsistent go with Rockliff. It's whether you prepared to take the risk of injury or not.
I'll tell you Rockcliff. I've had Selwood lined up for two weeks for this round and I think I'm going rocky instead and Selwood next week.
It's a risk, but it's exciting… Tears or beers come Sunday.
And I already have Ablett… Actually if you don't have Ablett.. Nah wait on Ablett, he's got the first bye round.
I'm doing exactly this. I've got too many out heading into 1st round bye so I'll need to trade in next week too, so I'm looking at Rocky as an investment who should pick up $100k at worst (if he hits 105 this week, then his b/e next week is a measly 5). Selwood is cheap at the moment, but should only go up by $15k ish this week. Both have rd 15 bye which I'm stacked for anyway.
Risk it for the biscuit etc…
Ablett

Sitting 10th overall in AF, thanks for yours and the other post authors weekly info. No guesses on what i clicked on the vote.
KORZA
Smashing it mate!
Toss a coin Duffman. Oh yeah
Oooooh yeah
Majak Seriously? Don't the hoppers just use him as a ruck emergency? I doubt he'll get a game with Goldstein fit
That's why I said "if he holds his spot", agree he's a risk but for cheapish ruck/fwd cover he's an option
Potentially a good option to handcuff with Goldstein. If you have Goldy and he missed reasonable to expect that Majak wil play in his place and score okay. If I didn't have Goldy in my side wouldn't consider Daw a viable option.
Trading Mitch Brown for Collins and who should I trade from Daniel Rich and Matthew Wright? If I trade any of those two out I can get any forward or defender I want
Rich because I think he gets tagged to hell by Barlow this week
Fair enough to but who to get in defense? I already have Shaw, Simpson, Laird, DBJ, AMT and of course Rich.
Could get in Boyd?
Yeah Boyd would be pretty good cheers lekdog
I'll only have 13 trades if I do this though
13's not great but it comes down to how many position you have left to fill and really making the trades work for you from hereon. You can't afford to do as much as others through the bye rounds but maybe you don't need to… I hope.
Well this Is my team before trades
Def: Shaw, Laird, Simpson, Rich, AMT, DBJ (Brown, Ruggles)
Mid: Danger, Parker, Selwood, Libba, Neale, Sam Mitchell, Pendlebury, Ablett (Snadden,Davis, Mathiseon)
Ruck: Gawn, Naitanui (Grmiley)
Fwd: zorko, hall, wells, kerridge, wright, petracca (menadue, cox)
Blicavs > Goldstein or Brandon Ellis > Danger? Both Blicavs and Ellis expected to leak a heap of cash this week. Blicavs and Goldstein have the same bye so doesn't effect me in terms of bye structure.
How many trade left and how many up grades to go?
19 trades left before this week, about 5-6 upgrades left in total. Ellis, Libba and J Smith in the mids as upgrades.
I actually traded Blicavs into my team in Round 4/5 thinking he was a potential M8 at worst, but he's been a spud lately. And started with Ellis with the hope that he'd have the breakout season many tipped him to have, but that hasn't paid off either.
EDIT **Sorry I have 17 trades left before this week
Tricky you'll probably need 10 trades to get to full premo which only leaves you the 5 for injuries, I don't mind the trades, with Blicavs he'll drop this week but once the 50 odd score is out of his cycle he'll even out again so I don't think he's a desperate upgrade maybe wait till after his bye, Could go Ellis to Goldy via Blicavs?
Ellis > Goldy via Blicavs doesn't sound too bad, I think it's probably better to get rid of Ellis before Blicavs considering Ellis has a Round 13 bye, whereas Blicavs is Round 15. No point keeping Ellis for this week and have him drop 30-40k.
Is Goldy a more of a must have than Danger at the moment though? Obviously if Goldy doesn't play this week that question is easier to answer.
Is it bad to be considering the trade Libba to Neale in R14 when Libba has his bye even though Neale has a bye the next week?
It suits my bye structure too
Yes…….Silly
if daw is named this week is anyone actually going to bring him in?
Very unlikely he'd play out the season. He's priced too high to be considered a downgrade
Nope. I've got Gawn and nic nat and my cover is cox from Collingwood – not great but enough for me.
The great man Ocker brought him in last week
Wouldn't dream of it.
Absolute waste of a trade!
I would contemplate him if Goldstein and/or Nic Nat are out
Not a chance. Nic Nat's sore achilles is making me very nervous too. I made ground on the leading pack who had Goldy due to the donut and can't see how I can afford to have a Nic Nat donut and keep that ground. Tippet as a Fwd is more and more appealing.
GAJ is also appealing, among others. The number of tackles and possessions indicates he's fit and raring. Still well under his opening value too.
Hi Lekdog, I guess it's a matter of the size allowed for the spreadsheet to fit the page but the chart is very hard to read without increasing the zoom to 150% – Is there any way to make it more readable? (I have a torn retina).
In the early days wasn't it a link that when clicked launched the image in a new window and bigger?
Hey mate, sorry about the eye that happened to me earlier in the year!
Right click on the chart and click "view image" it'll open up as a much larger image
If your on the computer, hold the Ctrl button down and roll the mouse wheel towards you to make the whole screen bigger
Thanks for your help and replies – holding the Ctrl button down and rolling the mouse wheel works for me. Thanks again.
I need to keep one of Mitch Brown or Matt Dea this week, I don't want to but I have too.
Which one?
Dea. Bank more cash plus on averages he won't lose as much as Brown.
Scrap that. Dea loses more dosh. Keep Brown
Hold Brown
Dea
Someone tell me who needs to get traded first.
Brown, Kennedy, De Goey
I still have De Goey too, killing me
Brown, De Goey, Kennedy. I hear Kennedy should be back this week
Kennedy's high break even worries me though. They all have breakevens around the 100 mark.
IMO, Brown if he gets named to play , Brown to Collins looks good either way
Need some advice what to do this week
Team is
shaw docherty simpson bartel laird amt collins dbj
danger pendles ward parker ablett libba hewitt j.smith macpherson dunkley d.cuningham
goldy gawn cox
zorko martin hall kerridge barlow m.adams petracca menadue
17 trades and 173k in bank
Considering holding trades this week or going 1 up/1down but cant see too many rookies with good job security
Thinking Hewitt downgrade and wouldn't mind getting Petracca into m8 till bye rounds and getting 1 of Rocky, Selwood, Gray
not sure how id do this . help!!
thanks community!
Hearing a lot of trade hold chat. Understand that you're bringing in a guy who'll miss a week but that was the case last round, the round before that and every one previously. If you improve you're team do it. It might get you the win you need or a rise up the ranks. For me if you've got trades use them. This weeks loss could come back to haunt you later. Think the Northern Territory said it best, you'll never never know if you never never go. Keep on tradin'
Had Rockliff from the start. Glad I kept him.
How can you possibly be glad you kept him?
If you traded him out to a similar priced player after round 3 you would be about 500 points better off than you are now….
Hey guys,
Currently ranked 717th. 15 trades left. 44k in the bank
My team is :
Shaw, Simpson, bartel , Rance, AMT, Adams, O. McDonald, Collins
Danger, Hanners, Ward, Selwood, Ablett. Libba. Priddis Hopper. Smith, Davis, Mcpherson
Nic Nat, Goldy, Grimley
Zorko, Martin, Tippet, Hall, Kerridge , Greene, Petrecca, Mendadue
Any Advice
Thanks boys! Love your work!
Need to downgrade in defence this week and already have S. Collins
Who would you guys reccommed out of Lee, Joyce or Logan Austin, or anybody else you know of??
Thanks community
Who's your downgrade, Rick? None of them inspire much confidence tbh.
Dea is, and have no swing anywhere
Lee with the Saints injuries
Thanks lek, hopefully he can find a bit of form too, don't like to see the injuries but boy will they help the mighty blues this week?
I'm worried about this weekend, I don't like going in expecting to win
Libba-Rocky
Kerridge/M McGovern-530k/450k FWD
Thoughts?
you smell farts
Can you just go McGovern to Rocky?
Libba scores 120 and you want to trade him out?
Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm. Winston Churchill
My two rucs are Goldstein and mason cox, how long till I should get rid of cox for nit nat or gawn
Probably until after whichever premo you decide to take has their bye round
I haven't. hasn't scored against any decent teams yet
Rockliff this is your last bloody chance stuff this one up and never ever again
I think I said the same thing earlier this season after he stuffed me around last year. Yet here I am again, seriously considering him. I think I may be masochistic.
is it mor eurgent to upgrade stef martin or trade in rockliff? i definetly want rocky in my team by season's end
More important to dump Stef
u reckon goldy or gawn?
Great work Lek! For the people with the Rockliff dilemma, you could wait a week. If he scores 100, he will only go up $20k
I need a bit of help community. I have George Hewett who, as explained by Lek, needs to be traded with a BE of 95. Problem is: I already have S Collins in defence. I'm already upgrading Mills to Ward so I need a downgrade option for Hewett in order to paint the fence. I can use DPP to bring in a FWD rookie if required as well.
Is Jansen my only option?
if there is no other rookie you might have to go early on Jansen trengrove or stewart never know could pay off
Rhys Mathieson should be back soon if its not imperative to your team that this rookie should be playing during the bye rounds.
Hewett may not play this week. Concussed last week
What to do with Kade Kolodjashnij community? Downgrade to Collins or hold and hope he turns it around?
im holding till JJ is back, got bigger problems at hand
I'm holding until I've reached full Premo after the byes.
Rd 16 – 17 Gonesky, unless he turns it around. Can't see it happening though. He's nowhere near it at the minute.
Does Cole from west coast have any job security?
He's cheap and is mid/def eligible
Probably not, was a late in last week. See if he's named tonight
Community, I can afford ANY midfielder in the competition…currently have Danger, Pendles, Gazza, Priddis and Gray.
WHO should I get?
Hannerbery? Neale? Kennedy? Rockliff?
Hanners.
Ultra consistent and 120 ave mid
Hannebery
hanners, neale and jpk are must haves imo
I have Smith, Oliver and Hopper in my mids. They all have a BE of 39. Who is best to trade out?
Trade Smith to Jansen next week. Smith will make another 10-15K, has the rd 13 bye, and you get another look at Jansen before his price rise.
I should have mentioned I am looking at trading one of them out as I am toying with getting in Rocky, though keeping an eye on Jensen is a good idea. Though if I do trade in Rocky, I will then have two Brissy players in my mids.
opinion please is d.wells in the top 6 fwds this year
100% if he stays fit
i think 2 chandos
If he stays on the park, yes. F5 at best but a very handy F6. If he gets injured as is expected at some point during the year, then obviously no.
joe every player can be expected to get injured lol
Wells more so because of his history. I think most people had him as a starter with the intention of upgrading him to a "premo". He just had to make enough money before getting injured.
But he's actually scoring pretty well and hasn't suffered a major injury yet so may turn out to be a keeper.
Lids dusty zerrett zorko dahl and montagna should all finish above wells though.
Def: Shaw, Simpson, Gibson, Laird, Rich, Adams (Ruggles, Collins)
Mid: Danger, Hannebery, Priddis, Gray, Ward, Libba, Wells, Kerridge (Davis, Williams, Mathieson)
Ruc: Goldy, NicNat (Cox)
Fwd: Dalhaus, Zorko, Barlow, Hall, Wingard, Pretacca (Rioli, Grimley)
Team is getting close to Premium players
3 playing Rookies :- Adams, Kerridge, Petracca
3 (5) mid pricer :- Rich, Hall, Wingard (Libba) (Wells)
Looking to bring in two these players after Rnd 13
Abblett
Pendlebury
Martin
Deledio
My corncern at the moment, I have 14 trades left. Am I really low on trades at this time of the season or is it just ok considering i have only 3 to 5 players left to upgrade.
Thoughts opinions appreciated.
Defenders:
H. Shaw, K. Simpson, J. Bartel, M. Adams, R. Laird, M. Brown (T. Ruggles, K. Brand)
Midfielders:
P. Dangerfield, D. Hannebery, S. Pendlebury, C. Ward, J. Selwood, G. Ablett, T. Liberatore, M. Priddis (J. Smith, R. Davis, J. Dunkley)
Ruck:
T. Goldstein, S. Martin (C. Loersch)
Forwards:
A. Hall, S. Kerridge, D. Wells, M. Barlow, B. Deledio, C. Petracca (B. Kennedy, D. Howard)
Thoughts on the above team? Got 15 trades left and not sure whether to hold my trades or trade someone like mitch brown out due to his high break even to sam collins.
trade brown to Collins and maybe stef martin to gawn
Definitely do the Collins trade. Brown has already lost 22k after peaking at 312k, he's only gonna leak more cash. With the cash made from that trade you could look at upgrading BK
This is my team atm. Am definitely trading brown out for Collins. Just not sure if I should do a second trade. If I do do a second trade it will be to get Daniel Rich to Matt Boyd. The problem is that if I do trades this week I'll only have 13 left and idk if that's enough to last me the rest of the season.
Well this Is my team before trades
Def: Shaw, Laird, Simpson, Rich, AMT, DBJ (Brown, Ruggles)
Mid: Danger, Parker, Selwood, Libba, Neale, Sam Mitchell, Pendlebury, Ablett (Snadden,Davis, Mathiseon)
Ruck: Gawn, Naitanui (Grmiley)
Fwd: zorko, hall, wells, kerridge, wright, petracca (menadue, cox)
Not much point getting rid of rich because you have two other rookie upgrades in defence to do first, with only 13 trades you should just ride the rich rollercoaster this year, I am and have learnt no rich next year as a lesson.
Yeah fair enough
13 is a tad low eh John? I'd hold until after the byes if I were you.
Nice midfield by the way.
Thanks mate
I'd downgrade brown to Collins and upgrade Kennedy
Can't decide which premo – all the following are in my $$ budget of 535,000
Priddis
Selwood
Gray
Dahlhaus
Take your pick
Do I go smith to Rockliff or wait a week then trade in Jansen for smith
I see the temptation to bring in rocky because he is potentially 150k underpriced. However, Jansen/Trengrove may be 200k+ underpriced plus you'll make a little extra on Smith.
What are the options for captains this week community?
I'm thinking Garry Ablett against Richmond ?
Has a bonkers record against the Tiges, played them 9 times for a low of 120.
Liking Goldy as vc if he gets up, averages 142 in his past 3 against the cats
The AFL site has a report on Mitchell & Gunston both big chances to miss this week. Lot's of coaches with Mitchell could now be big chances to get on the Rocky train?
100k in the bank thoughts/advice for my team
DEF: Shaw, Docherty, Laird, Enright, Byrne, S.Collins (Ruggles, Tucker)
MID: Dangerfield, Hannebery, Ablett, Ward, Shiel, Priddis, Zieball, Lewis (Hewett, Davis, Gresham)
RUCK: Gawn, NicNat (Lorensch)
FWD: Dahlhaus, Martin, Boomer, Hall, Kerridge, Tipungwuti (Petracca, Wyatt)
No issues I can see. You could hold this week and look at bringing in Jansen when he's n the bubble
To trade or hold the man himself Grant Birchall?
I'm holding until simpson has his bye then ill upgrade him to simpson
94k in the bank 16 trades left
Shaw, Doc, Simpson, DBJ, Laird, BROWN | Collins, Brand
Danger, Hanners, Ward, Ablett, Libba, Priddis, Gray, Smith | Davis, Dunkley, Macpherson
Gawn, Goldy | Grimley
Zorko, Dahl, Hall, Kerridge, Wells, Greene | Petracca, Wyatt
Went early on Collins, now I don't know what to do with Brown. Thoughts community?
Brown -> Lee due to saints injuries maybe?
community, i have 14 trades left with 30k in the bank
now i have sam mitchell who is in doubt to vs essendon, if he is out is it worth downgrading ruggles to another rookie so i can trade mitchell to rocky?
Plus is there any downgrade options in defence besides collins as i already have?
What to do with bloody Toby Greene?
Hello kind Community,
I need a little help, I am stuck with Papley and Grimley as my bench in the forward line, Grimly because he was a cheap DPP player (so much for that). Paps is worth $286.000 and I have $196,000 and 18 trades.
I am looking for a cheap trade down player and then hang onto the cash for the byes and thereafter.
Midfield looks okay with Danger, Ablett, Rocky, Wells, Zorks, Priddis, Libber, Martin, Parker and Kerridge.
Any cheap forward or forward/mid would be appreciated.
Thanks .
