The Rookie Scout: Round 8

Published by Barron Von Crow on

Barron Von CrowGoodbye, farewell and amen.

That’s what we’ll be saying to a bunch of players over the coming weeks as we look to boost our sides to full premo status through the bye rounds.

We’ve been with some of these rookies for 7 weeks now and some of them have served us well, but it’s now time to give some of them a Donald Trump-esque “You’re fired” and move them on from their current positions.

It’s a cutthroat business this fantasy football caper, but this won’t be the end for these kids. Guys like Callum Mills, Clayton Oiver, Darcy Parish and Marcus Adams, these guys may be gone from our sides soon this year, but I guarantee you that we will be picking them again in the future.

Callum Mills

SC Price: $335,900 | AF Price: $314,000 | CoachKings Price: $6,600
Featured CoachKings Contest: Saturday, Richmond VS Sydney
Round 7 Stats: 16 disposals, 4 marks, 2 inside 50’s, 36 SCPoints, 46 AFPoints, 33 CKPoints

Just the $200 price rise for Mills and now with a projected BE of 94, this may be the week we look to upgrade/downgrade Mills. He had the 16 disposals, which was about his season average, but didn’t do a lot with it and also had 5 clangers. Might be a bit iffy in CoachKings at his current price.

Clayton Oliver

SC Price: $294,900 | AF Price: $309,000 | CoachKings Price: $5,800
Featured CoachKings Contest: Sunday, Melbourne VS Western Bulldogs
Round 7 Stats: 23 disposals, 3 marks, 6 tackles, 2 inside 50’s, 4 clearances, 83 SCPoints, 77 AFPoints, 80 CKPoints

Oliver had a couple of weeks off and it seems to have not had any real impact on him. He was quiet in the Round 4 game against Collingwood, so it looks like the break was good for him. His BE is 51, so if you held on to him, it looks like he still has several more weeks left. He’s a big ‘ol padlock for CoachKings on Sunday, capable of a big score and still at a decent price.

Christian Petracca

SC Price: $123,900 | AF Price: $262,000 | CoachKings Price: $4,500
Featured CoachKings Contest: Sunday, Melbourne VS Western Bulldogs
Round 7 Stats: 24 disposals, 2 marks, 4 tackles, 4 inside 50’s, 2 goals 86 SCPoints, 86 AFPoints, 127 CKPoints

On the bubble this week and has a BE of -75, easy guess says he’ll be the most traded in player this week and makes an absolutely perfect downgrade option if you’re looking to move out Callum Mills. Nice timing for us in fantasy football! Get him in in CoachKings as well, pair him up with Clayton Oliver and you’ll save yourself big dollars to pick other high price players.

Josh Smith

SC Price: $171,500 | AF Price: $245,000 | CoachKings Price: $5,100
Round 7 Stats: 18 disposals, 4 marks, 1 tackle, 49 SCPoints, 61 AFPoints, 55CKPoints

Not a single contested possession recorded for Smith, which would explain his slightly lower SC score. He was probably heavily started last week after scoring 96 the week before, so a score of 49 would be a bit disappointing. Still, we most likely brought him in for cash generation, so he just rose by 69K and has another 51K projected with a  BE of -43 on the cards this week.

Darcy Parish

SC Price: $331,100 | AF Price: $359,000 | CoachKings Price: $5,100
Round 7 Stats: N/A

Had his workload managed by the Bombers, and didn’t play any football last week. Probably a good thing for him long term, but his BE is currently 78, so he might be coming near the end of his time for us.

Connor Menadue

Featured CoachKings Contest: Saturday, Richmond VS Sydney
SC Price: $225,300 | AF Price: $244,000 | CoachKings Price: $3,800
Round 7 Stats: 11 disposals, 2 marks, 3 tackles, 54 SCPoints, 47 AFPoints, 52 CKPoints

Looked like he was going to put up a good score with 41 first half Supercoach Points, but ended the game on just 54 SCPoints. Still, that was good enough to earn him a $4.8K price rise and now has an achievable BE of 28. That puts him on the bottom of the trade priority list, but judging from his current scoring output, you’re only likely to cost yourself 10-15K if you trade him out now.

He’s dirt cheap in CoachKings, but that’s for a reason, but if you really need to save some dollars he’s an option. Worst case scenario, pick him at the start and leave a tiny bit of cash left. If he stinks up the joint you can rotate him out for another player in the $4,500 range.

Sam Kerridge

SC Price: $371,500 | AF Price: $425,000 | CoachKings Price: $6,100
Round 7 Stats: 24 disposals, 3 marks, 5 tackles, 3 clearances, 1 goal, 82 SCPoints, 89 AFPoints, 68 CKPoints
Featured CoachKings Contest: Sunday, Carlton VS Port Adelaide (SA Venues ONLY)

4 clangers for Kerridge, which hit his scores a bit, but still a solid effort overall, but we’re hitting the tricky point of the year now with the Kedge. His BE is 74, which is achievable, but he’s also scored lower than that on 2 occasions this year, and scores of 86, 78 and 82 would mean he wouldn’t earn much cash either if he scored at that level this week. If you didn’t have any other issues to deal with, I’d consider downgrading him, but it’s not a definite need this week.

Ben Kennedy

SC Price: $312,000 | AF Price: $333,000 | CoachKings Price: $5,900
Featured CoachKings Contest: Sunday, Melbourne VS Western Bulldogs
Round 7 Stats: 16 disposals, 2 marks, 9 tackles, 2 goals, 89 SCPoints, 93 AFPoints, 119 CKPoints

Probably typical that he scored his 3rd highest score of the year after a lot of people traded him out, but he’s still owned by 42.1% of teams, so there’s plenty still with him. His BE is now 27, which gives him a few more weeks to earn some cash, as long as he doesn’t have another dud game. He scored very well in CoachKings last week, so he is an option to consider this week, especially at a sub $6,000 price.

Tom Papley

SC Price: $281,000 | AF Price: $304,000 | CoachKings Price: $5,700
Featured CoachKings Contest: Saturday, Richmond VS Sydney
Round 7 Stats: 14 disposals, 3 marks, 7 tackles, 2 goals, 85 SCPoints, 89 AFPoints, 100 CKPoints

Another good game from Papley, who has now had 3 solid weeks in a row. He earned another 36K last week and has a BE of 18 for this week, so he’s likely to pop over the 300K mark. He’ll most likely hold for another fortnight. Worth a buy in CoachKings this week, especially against a poorer side in Richmond.

Mitch McGovern

SC Price: $265,500 | AF Price: $266,000 | CoachKings Price: $6,300
Featured CoachKings Contest: Friday, Adelaide VS Geelong
Round 7 Stats: 8 disposals, 3 marks, 2 tackles, 45 SCPoints, 39 AFPoints, 67 CKPoints

With Josh Jenkins dominating the goals last week, there wasn’t much left for McGovern, who missed an easy shot in front of goal. His BE is 67 this week, a score he’s beaten just twice this year. Consider moving him on this week. He’ll be an OK pick in CoachKings, but hasn’t shown the ability to pump out a big score yet, so I’d likely avoid at this price point.

Lincoln McCarthy

SC Price: $269,300 | AF Price: $238,000 | CoachKings Price: $5,400
Round 7 Stats: 3 disposals, 1 tackles, 1 behind, 15 SCPoints, 14 AFPoints, 13 CKPoints

Just 15 SCPoints from McCarthy, who only played about 15 minutes of footy after suffering an ankle injury in the first quarter of the Cats game against West Coast. That has absolutely blown his BE up and pushed it out to 101. His injury doesn’t look serious, but given his injury history I’d suggest the Cats will rest him for at least next week, though they have said he’ll be a game time decision. If that’s the case you can wait one more week before moving him out, but scores of 44 and 15 over the last fortnight mean it’s time to move him on.

Matthew Dea

SC Price: $289,200 | AF Price: $307,000 | CoachKings Price: $5,200
Round 7 Stats: 18 disposals, 9 marks, 3 tackles, 79 SCPoints, 85 AFPoints, 75 CKPoints

A decent game from Dea, he missed his BE, but dropped just 7.7K, money he should be able to regain this week with a BE of 54. His BE next week is projected to be 33 off of a score of 62 this week, so he might hold for another week or so.

Marcus Adams

SC Price: $349,700 | AF Price: $324,000 | CoachKings Price: $8,400
Featured CoachKings Contest: Sunday, Melbourne VS Western Bulldogs
Round 7 Stats: 20 disposals, 3 marks, 1 tackle, 77 SCPoints, 59 AFPoints, 105 CKPoints

Adams just managed to hit his BE and gained 7.3K for the week and has another reachable BE of 68 this week. Latest word is he fractured his finger against the Crows and will miss this week’s game against Melbourne. His time appears to be near, but with him missing a week with injury we don’t need to worry about him losing cash for the moment.

Darcy Byrne-Jones

SC Price: $322,200 | AF Price: $281,000 | CoachKings Price: $6,600
Featured CoachKings Contest: Sunday, Carlton VS Port Adelaide (SA Venues ONLY)
Round 7 Stats: 22 disposals, 3 marks, 2 tackles, 100 SCPoints, 68 AFPoints, 90 CKPoints

A great game from Byrne-Jones, who had 10 contested possessions in his 22 and also had 422 metres gained for the day. He has now gained nearly 200K and has a BE of 21, which you’d expect him to smash. He’s been a great pickup for a lot of us and if he continues this pace he could be in our sides for a long time.

Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti

SC Price: $318,400 | AF Price: $302,000 | CoachKings Price: $6,000
Round 7 Stats: 18 disposals, 7 marks, 2 tackles, 86 SCPoints, 80 AFPoints, 83 CKPoints

Another Bomber who was on the chopping block who may have bought himself another week or two, Walla managed a 8.9K price rise and now has a BE of 50 for this week. The Bombers have North Melbourne this week, which will be a tough game for them, but you’d hope he could score a 50 at a minimum. He should keep for a little bit longer.

Mason Cox

SC Price: $159,900 | AF Price: $192,000 | CoachKings Price: $4,500
Round 7 Stats: 7 disposals, 1 mark, 10 hitouts, 24 SCPoints, 38 AFPoints, 24 CKPoints

Not much going for Cox last week, who was unable to hit kick a goal for the first time this year. That poor score has put his BE at 4, so if you traded him in, don’t worry. He’ll still earn plenty of cash from here.

Mitch Brown – Brown’s second good game in a row with a score of 96. He’s priced at $279K and has pushed back into negative BE territory at -18. Should push into the $350K range at this rate.

Peter Wright – Just the score of 47 in his third game. Scored 142 SCPoints in his first game and has managed just 91 in his next two.

Daniel Currie – Has had solid hitout numbers, but managed to get a bit more involved around the ground this week with 14 disposals. Has risen to 214.9K, so not much of a downgrade option, but could be an injury replacement if the worst happened to one of your rucks.

George Hewett – Had a score of 57 last week, but still a low BE of 21 this week. Keep him on your bench for a bit longer.

Danny MacPherson – A solid debut for MacPherson, he only had 10 disposals, but worked hard to also get 9 tackles and scored 77 SCPoints. Just his first game, so give him another week to evaluate in Supercoach.

Mason Redman – Just 45 SCPoints for Redman. Probably better options out there.

Ben Crocker – Played his first game and had just the 8 disposals. Could be given a taste, but not sure if he has enough long term potential to make a decent amount of cash.

Liam Sumner – Could give him props for being consistent, I guess, even if it is just consistently shit in fantasy football terms. He’s playing his role for the Blues though, it’s just not one that’s beneficial for Supercoach or AFL Fantasy.

Josh Wagner – Bounced back with a score of 96 SCPoints after a poor showing the week before. If you have him then you’d be happy with what he’s providing. BE is just 18.

Nakia Cockatoo – Dealt with a calf injury last week, but still expected to play on Friday night.

Michael Hartley – 62 SCPoints on the weekend and has a BE of 16, so still plenty of cash left in him.

Ciaran Byrne – Usual score in the 60’s for Byrne, who has been solid, though is currently lacking the ability of Byrne-Jones to pump out a big score.

Jason Castagna – On the bubble, but hasn’t scored that well in his two games. I’d probably avoid, he might be another Menadue who doesn’t score well enough to play, or generate any cash.

Ben Keays – Another rookie on the bubble and will likely be heavily traded in. Early BE of -53. Kicking 0.4 last week was a disappointment, but he’s shown the ability to stick a tackle, averaging 7 for the year.

Connor Blakely – Averaging just 50 SCPoints in his two games and has a slightly inflated starting price of 159K. Would rather go for Keays instead.

Jayden Short – Richmond are throwing around lineups a lot, so I’m not sure how long Short will be in the side. He was out for a month and then scored a 67 on return. Could still be a buy at $159K, but JS might be iffy.

Kaiden Brand – 65 SCPoints for his first game, which isn’t the worst. We have another week to watch him, if he even plays this week.

Eli Templeton – Has played 2 games for the Saints, so he’s right on the bubble, but had a big game for the Zebras on Saturday with 36 disposals, 15 marks, 5 tackles and kicked 1.1

Wayne Milera – Milera didn’t play SANFL on Sunday due to travelling to Melbourne as the emergency on Saturday. With Mackay out there is a chance he’s brought back this week if the Crows look to add some speed to the side.

Tom Lee – Back in the VFL and doing OK with 20 disposals, 12 marks and 3 tackles.

Tom Curren – Curren had 22 disposals, with 14 of them being handballs, 4 marks and 4 tackles in Sandringham’s big 114 to 47 win over the Collingwood VFL side.

Josh Dunkley – Just 19 disposals, 7 tackles and 5 tackles for Dunkley in Footscrays massive 105 point win over North Ballarat in the VFL.

Sam Weirderman – The #9 pick from this years draft, he kicked 4 goals in the Casey Scorpions demolishion job over the Northern Blues. The Blues team as a whole kicked 2.6, so Weiderman outscored an entire team by himself. He has kicked 13 goals over his 4 VFL matches.

Dougal Howard – Was originally named in the Power side, but dropped later, he had 14 disposals, 7 marks, 9 hitouts and kkicked 2.2 in the Magpies 27 point win over West Adelaide in the SANFL.

Sam Grimley – Back to the VFL for Grimley, who kicked 2 goals and had 8 disposals and 5 marks in the Bombers VFL win over Geelong.

Ryan Davis – Responded to his AFL axing in a big way, gathering 38 disposals, 9 marks, 3 tackles and kicked 1.1 in the Gold Coast reservers 65 point loss to Sydney in the NEAFL.

Darcy Tucker – He had 21 disposals, 2 marks, 4 tackles and 2 rebound 50’s in the Peel Thunder’s 17 point loss to West Perth.

Adam Marcon – On the Tigers rookie list, but mature ager at 23. He led the Tigers in the VFL with 29 disposals, 7 marks, 6 tackles and 4 inside 50’s in the Tigers 43 point loss to Port Melbourne.

Liam McBean – Only the 1 goal and 10 disposals for McBean on the weekend

Mabor Chol – Chol had just the 7 disposals, to go along with 2 marks, 5 tackles and 8 hitouts.

Harrison Wigg – 2nd round draft pick from last year who has a booming left boot. He led the way for the SANFL Crows on Sunday with 25 disposals, 4 marks and 4 tackles.

Hugh Greenwood – A bit wasteful in front of goals kicking 2.4, but also had 18 disposals and 6 marks. Gets better every week as he adjusts to football from basketball.

Jack Trengove – Continues to get it done in the VFL, with another 30 possession game, along with 10 tackles.

Tom Doedee – Still a bit raw, but held his own in an undersized Crows defence on the weekend and had 16 disposals, 4 marks and 2 tackles.

Sam Collins – 15 disposals, 8 marks and a goal for Sam Collins in the WAFL. You’d think he might be given a chance at some point with the Dockeres continuing to lose games.

Anthony Moribito – Continues to plug along, but prospects looking grimmer by the week after suffering a hamstring injury on the weekend. He had 19 disposals, 2 marks and 3 rebound 50’s for the Peel Thunder.

Rhys Mathieson – Brisbane had a bye in the NEAFL this week.

Jacob Hopper, Jake Barrett, Harrison Himmelberg – UWS Giants also had the bye in the NEAFL this weekend, so no footy action for the Giant trio.

And that is it from me this week. Any rookie trades you’ll be looking to make? Up and down? Or just upgrading to premo’s? Let us know in the comments below, or hit us up on Twitter @BarronVonCrow

since you're obviously on school holidays why don't you spend some time and write an article for the page since you are meant to be one of the best people on here. Every one that contributes to this page does it for nothing and they do a fantastic job helping people, so don't post negative and stupid comments on their articles.

I'm tipping there is going to be a response from his huge repertoire of "flog", "shit", "I'm the best".

He is like one of those annoying insects that buzz around without purpose, annoy everyone, spoil your day but eventually goes away or gets splattered.

Jock: can we ban this guy?

Which forward rookies does everything think will be making a debut in the coming weeks? Thanks

Agree with previous poster. Cannot find such insightful and helpful info anywhere else in the SC world. Danke BVC.

TRIGGER HAPPY · 12/05/2016 at 14:15

Can we get back to talking footy as this is a super coach forum and leave the childish behaviour behind?

I think we would all appreciate that.

Agree Trigger but the best way is probably to stop biting and ignore. They will grow tired.

Powerage · 12/05/2016 at 14:23

Does anyone know roughly how much Robbie Grays price will drop if he scores 120? Currently at 554k with BE of 200

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 12/05/2016 at 14:29

If he scores 120 his price will drop about $25k as the 53 and 74 he scored in the last round before he was injured will still affect his price.

      Powerage · 12/05/2016 at 14:37

Therefore it will keep dropping even if he scores 120 the following week?

        TRIGGER HAPPY · 12/05/2016 at 14:42

Yep probably about another $10-$15k as the 74 is still in his 3 round average.

          I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 15:19

Should be around 500k when the turds disappear. Subject to him scoring well over the next few weeks

            Steeeve · 12/05/2016 at 16:54

Get him. Get Priddis. Have a party.

Northernsoul74 · 12/05/2016 at 14:33

    Agreed… some people hey. SMH

    Steeeve · 12/05/2016 at 16:55

Good call however if you ignore them they will hopefully go away.

Jackson Trengrove · 12/05/2016 at 14:41

Thoughts on bringing me in to your teams this week I think I could score pretty well in the ruck whilst lobbe is out my BE is 9 so even if dont work out you might make some $$$$$$

    I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 14:55

I'm sure someone can find at home for you. But it won't be ay my place

    Kev · 12/05/2016 at 15:45

You're bloody tempting, Jackson! Role change to something more SC friendly at 300k. I'm starting to slip in the rankings so a bit of a hail mary in a largely unpredictable backline is the not the worst idea

      Jackson Trengrove · 12/05/2016 at 16:00

I am a make or break move. could pay huge rewards the risk might not be that huge even if i average 80 over the next 3 weeks will generate some cash and can upgrade me. I am going to be ballsy and bring myself in

        Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 17:38

Even if you average 80 and generate some cash? Like 100k or so?

You give yourself way too much credit burning two trades to make a pittance like that is supercoach stupidity at it's finest.

No offence Jackson like you as a player but this even if averaging 80 thing will create burns 🙂 (unless you can score 90+ for the rest of the season and be a keeper then what's the point of wasting trades……….)

Daniel · 12/05/2016 at 14:49

Does everyone think it is crucial to have to have both keays and petracca in our sides this year?

If I dont jump on both, meaning i would likely leave out keays, it means i can get Rance into my side this week – who i feel is a lock defender come the end of the year

Will i be disadvantaged withouth having both rookies making money or do people feel the likes of macpherson etc. will more than cover the lack of either keays or petracca

Thanks guys

    Jackson Trengrove · 12/05/2016 at 14:53

I think you will be fine with just Petracca provided you have money makers in place. Keays hasn't looked that great to me. Remember you want to be able to get your team to above 13 million so if you think you can get there without keays go ahead

    The Mountain · 12/05/2016 at 14:54

I reckon that petracca is a must have but im not sold on keays, i will see how mcPherson goes this week and go from there

    I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 14:59

Depends how your current rookies are. If they are making money then don't be to concerned. More will appear. Petrecca more of a priority than Keays. Probably passing on Keays personally

Northernsoul74 · 12/05/2016 at 14:55

Pretty much confirmed that Daniel Wells will miss this weekend.

    I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 15:00

    Slot him on the pine

    Nichokas · 12/05/2016 at 15:13

Still would recommend holding him community higher priorities and he has shown he can score very well.

Tom · 12/05/2016 at 15:07

community ive got 600 K in the bank after downgrading to petracca and keays, is this too much?

    I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 15:16

Not as long as you spend it next week

Forbidden Donut · 12/05/2016 at 15:11

One of the best articles of the week, every week!. Sadly, I wasted 5 minutes of my time reading the comments which are nomally insightful too. I suppose every great forum is eventually going to be subject to trolls. They can be hungry buggers. Let's not feed them community.

    I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 15:17

Ryan · 12/05/2016 at 15:33

Mills to Keays this week or Mills to MacPherson next week?

    Average Joe · 12/05/2016 at 16:46

prob keays, as mills will lose a bit of cash and macpherson might not keep his spot/not score well

    Cpt Pugwash · 12/05/2016 at 20:54

Keays. Should see plenty of game time with rocky out.

Thomas · 12/05/2016 at 15:46

Mills to Keays and Weitering to Simpson

Next week: Kennedy and Kerridge for Priddis and Pendles or Selwood

ATM only have 4 premo midfielders as well as Libba

    Tommo09 · 12/05/2016 at 16:07

    That's me by the way

    Liam · 12/05/2016 at 16:49

      The Mountain · 12/05/2016 at 21:57

      And kennedy as well

John · 12/05/2016 at 15:49

Ranked around 200 or so and bringing in dalhaus
Swinging him into forward for petracca tho
Thoughts ?

I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 16:04

Gary back in the guts according to Rocket. 6 changes for the suns this week. Little concerned about Hall

    Cam · 12/05/2016 at 16:06

I am hoping Hall will stay

      I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 16:37

Same. He's carrying injuries for sure

        Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 17:43

Hall carrying injuries for sure? I haven't seen him play recently but two weeks ago when they got pumped by Geelong he still got 28 touches.

Last week their score was doubled by melbourne and just because he only got 21 touches doesn't mean he's injured. (still landed 7 tackles and a goal for 95 supercoach)

The Ranger · 12/05/2016 at 16:29

Another top notch article Barron, nice one.

Michael · 12/05/2016 at 16:38

Community, im trading adams this week but not sure to who. whose the best bet bartel or merret

    tuxCS · 12/05/2016 at 16:47

      Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 17:31

Topped out in price, averaging 105.4 for 550k.

Rather grab Docherty averaging 100 for 487k myself.

Anyway Michael asked between Bartel and Merret I'd grab Bartel with a 45 BE.

        Banned_34 · 12/05/2016 at 18:25

Any love for McVeigh. He is damn cheap if he can get back to last years form

          Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 18:53

I reckon next week, he's on a 114 BE see how he goes.

            Banned_34 · 12/05/2016 at 18:57

Thanks. After seeing the teams i have bigger priorities now. Will definitely wait

jimmy · 12/05/2016 at 16:50

going for a couple of POD moves this week with my trades as followed

Parish—–> Petracca
De Goey—–> Riewoldt

then i will place the vc on Ward and the C on Riewoldt as he play on Sunday and his form is to hard to ignore

my team is
Shaw Houli, Tipungwuti, DBJ, Byrne, Ruggles (Laird, Adams)
Dangerfield, Hannebery, Ward, ablett, shiel zieball priddis petracca (hewett, gresham davis)
Big Beard, nic nat (lorensch)
Hall, riewoldt martin kerridge benken menadue (wells, cox)

then next week i will downgrade davis to macpherson then adams to def premo

    Hubba · 12/05/2016 at 23:31

    Good for you dude

I'd love to have your opinions on trade strategies as well leading into the bye rounds.

I'm currently on 23 remaining.

For real? I feel as sick as Ross when he looks at his over the hill list.

      Pinidu · 12/05/2016 at 22:15

You actually reckon I start discussions here to put on other forums? What have u been smoking mate?

I ask a simple question about trades which is a very prevelant discussion amongst SuperCoach coaches at this time of year. For your information I have never even thought about doing something as cowardice as what you have suggested….perhaps that just shows your own thinking. If you can't accept simple discussions about supercoach then you're definitely on the wrong website. And if you're so sure dissing others behind the safety of your computer screen why don't you tell us what exact 'forums' I've been posting on?

Typical haters. It's a disgrace to see such a well run and remarkable Community website trolled by people like you.

        Pinidu · 12/05/2016 at 22:20

Southern S, I've never even thought of doing something as cowardice as betraying this website. Don't listen to people like him ('busted again') who don't know what they're talking about and spend their days making assumptions about other people.

          Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 23:24

    Tommo09 · 12/05/2016 at 19:50

    21 left for me

jimmy · 12/05/2016 at 17:07

iv'e gone pretty hard early but my plan was to go hard early then just hold until byes for some downgrades and upgrades then sit till finals i have 18 left my team above

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 17:27

You'd want 1 mill+ in your bank right now or you are going to have a tough time getting full premo needing 7 more guns.

You'll have a few trades left for injuries and/or players being rested. Would not be getting guys like N.Riewoldt into your team if you don't have a big warchest.

I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 17:14

Wells is out & Barlow is not on the flight to Tassie. Here comes the carnage

    Kev · 12/05/2016 at 17:42

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 17:44

Oh well most have Wells so it shouldn't be too bad. If everyone has bench cover or swingmen that is 🙂

      I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 17:51

      Barlow dropped

        I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 17:52

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:06

He is apparently returning to the guts this week but his BE is 152 see how he goes.

Boltons Blues · 12/05/2016 at 18:37

now that Adams and Wells are out, ive changed my trades

Trading Adams to Bartel (via brown DPP) – that gives me AMT and Brown that can be swung around (although they wont be in the team much longer)
Trading Mills – Petracca – (via wells DPP) – that gives me Wells and half my forwards that can be swung around, and means i play B Crouch this week

Team –
Shaw // Simpson // Bartel // AMT // DBJ // Byrne (Laird // Ruggles) – 2 Premo spots left
Danger // Parker // Ablett // Shiel // Sloane // Libba // Cripps // Crouch (Wells// Davis // Dunkley) – 1 premo spot left (2 if you including Libba, as he will be a sideways trade)
Goldy // Gawn (Grimley) 0
Hall // Martin // Kerridge // Kennedy // Brown // Petracca (Menadue // Cox) 3 premo spots left
I have 360k and 20 trades left, 6 premo spots to fill, should leave me about 6/7/8 injury/rage trades comings towards the end of the bye weeks

– Is bartel the best pick? i didnt want 3 cartlon defenders thus not picking Docherty

    tuxCS · 12/05/2016 at 22:12

Pick one out of Bartel, Rance and McVeigh.

    jack · 12/05/2016 at 22:23

shiel sloan cripps crouch not in top 10 will need to upgrade later

    D-Train · 13/05/2016 at 01:46

You have at least 8 premo spots to fill, not 6.
As far as your defender upgrade goes, I don't see the problem with 3 Carlton defenders as you'd surely be upgrading Byrne around the bye rounds, which would leave you with 2 Carlton defenders for the run home.

Tophawk · 12/05/2016 at 18:37

Absolute carnage!!!! No Robbie Gray. Wells out, Greene out, Barlow out, Cyril Rioli out. What the hell is going on??

    Tophawk · 12/05/2016 at 18:44

I have 8 loophole options this week. LOL

    Kev · 12/05/2016 at 18:46

Gonna struggle to field 22 this week. My team has been decimated.

      Nicholas · 12/05/2016 at 18:56

Yeh I am not sure why Ross would drop Barlow was starting to find form then had one bad game…

        Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:04

Long trip to tazzy just to be smashed by hawks so probably resting, or tanking, or has gone crazy. Take your pick.

It wouldn't make a difference to the outcome of that game if Lyons rested himself. Not kidding lol.

        Tophawk · 12/05/2016 at 19:12

Ross Lyon is a snapperhead…..seriously…..He has no Fyfe, a team out of form, and then he drops Barlow!
There is no doubt Barlow will be back next week after the Hawks give them a reaming in Launceston this week.

        Phil · 12/05/2016 at 19:34

        I do, he sucks

    Shake n bake · 12/05/2016 at 19:21

I'm lucky there tophawk, only have Wells so I'll stick to just the 1 trade mills to Patracca.

@noahcavanagh · 12/05/2016 at 18:41

keays a must this week?

    Wattsieesq · 12/05/2016 at 19:35

Not a must, but a very good option

    Danners · 12/05/2016 at 20:27

No, a handy downgrade option with a higher ceiling than most rookies

Kev · 12/05/2016 at 18:48

Dempsey (hamstring)
Didn't take him long to disappoint his owners

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 18:49

Yep only played 3 games this year then already done a hammy………this is why people get called crazy for wanting to trade him in on the back of a couple of good games!

    tuxCS · 12/05/2016 at 22:14

Good to see that my advice of not picking him was warranted.

jake · 12/05/2016 at 18:48

unlucy for the people that traded barlow back in last week lucky i went dusty instead

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 18:52

I get the feeling Ross knows they were going to get smashed in tazzy regardless so is resting him, he's probably going to tank all year after this horrendous start.

Probably the same reason Rioli is being rested by the hawks, easy win against the bottom team (who would've thought freo in 18th…….)

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:16

Actually Rioli out due to a family illness……….

      Phil · 12/05/2016 at 21:56

      Southern S you mad?

Nicholas · 12/05/2016 at 18:49

Community is it time to paint the fence or double downgrade?
Here is my team:

Backs: Shaw, Laird, Bartel, Rich, Smith, DBJ (Brown, Hartley)
Mids: Danger, Selwood, Parker, Ablett, Gray, Wines, Libba, Mills (B Ken, Menadue, Smith)
Rucks: Gawn, Nic Nat (Cox)
Fowards: Barlow, Hall, Wells, Adams, AMT, Kerridge (Papey, Mccarthy)

My plans were to go
Mills–> Petracca
Adams–> Dusty

Now with the carnage of Barlow, Wells and Robbie Gray not playing if I complete the above trades I will have to field Menadue or Smith.
It is a pitty that I cannot get Hartley and Brown on the field instead of Menadue ir Smith but I cannot.
Looking for some possible trade suggestions or should I stick with the original plan and take a possible crappy score from Smith or Menadue

Darby · 12/05/2016 at 18:50

Do I trade Greene or Barlow to petrecca and have 600 to upgrade next week

    Banned_34 · 12/05/2016 at 18:52

Ok if you have trades to burn. You are going to have to trade another premo in later to replace them

          Darby · 12/05/2016 at 19:11

I think so to Barlow will kill it so traded Greene so inconsistent to petrecca got 22 trades so I think I'm right

            The Mountain · 12/05/2016 at 19:47

Rough for those that have Greene and Barlow! They are out!

    Steeeve · 12/05/2016 at 19:52

Most would have Wells too. Hope they can swing someone forward and dodge a donut.

      Phil · 12/05/2016 at 20:26

      I got wells covered!

Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 18:54

Dougal Howard back in do we think Trengove will score as well as last week?

    Steeeve · 12/05/2016 at 19:53

Extended bench. Surely they will stick with what worked last week, aka no dougal.

      Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:59

Maybe yeah. You'd be sitting on massive plums to lock in Trengove this week though.

        Harry · 12/05/2016 at 21:50

Sometimes you have to have massive plums. I'm doing it. But not just on a whim. Trust me, I've written down all my major upgrade and downgrade targets to get a complete squad, allowed for injuries, and I think it can be done. Adams out for trengove. I figure worst case scenario he becomes D7/D8. I trade him in and he stays, hell or high water barring injury. Let's reconvene in a few weeks and see whether I'm anointed a genius or you're shipping me off to Arkham

          Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 23:21

Maybe you should trade Dempsey out for him 🙂

Jokes! Good luck it should go ok even if he shares ruck duties with others.

Nicholas · 12/05/2016 at 18:55

Nothing new there haha

Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 18:55

Oscar McDonald and Dunkley back in might please a few patient coaches!

    DarcyD · 12/05/2016 at 20:17

I posted a question about O. MacDonald a couple of days ago asking what was happening with him. I initially selected him on good NAB form and that coach Roos likes him but he hurt his ankle midway through his first game. I guess he is a chance to play on Sunday but I will have to wait until tomorrow late afternoon. Yes Southern S, it pays to be patient and that is why I have 26 trades. This year more than any other year I am staggered at the amount of trading especially at it is going to be a long hard SC year.

Gord29 · 12/05/2016 at 18:57

carnage this week with people being rested was surprised not to see goldstien out too

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:01

You're joking right? 35 hitouts and 17 possessions last week look like the sign of an injured or burnt out player?

      Gord29 · 12/05/2016 at 19:06

just thought it being against the bombers they might rest him. would say there has been worse players for freo to than barlow

        Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:13

Yeah I see what you're saying there, I suppose he must be in good condition if they're not resting him against the bombers.

          Gord29 · 12/05/2016 at 19:22

yea just thought the way they are going this year they might have thought about giving him the extra rest

            Maestro · 12/05/2016 at 23:51

Still might give him a light load up forward. Why else bring in Majac?

    Tommo · 12/05/2016 at 19:34

They brought Majak in this week. Hate to say it but it is looking more and more likely he may get rested.

      Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:45

Majak on the interchange is an interesting move. I think Goldy will play but probably take it easy.

Steve · 12/05/2016 at 18:58

better trade in option out of Zorko and Dalhaus, or are there any other fwd premos i should consider?

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:12

Martin or Merrett are a couple of good options, Martin is pretty cheap right now and has a BE of 63.

      Steve · 12/05/2016 at 19:19

have already got martin, just not sure out of zorko or dahlaus

        Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:48

Zorko is averaging more 116.5 vs 110.4?

They are both great options go with your gut on who plays out the season best.

    Wattsieesq · 12/05/2016 at 19:40

Dusty if you don't have him

    HOLLA · 12/05/2016 at 21:42

I like motlop as a pod

      tuxCS · 12/05/2016 at 22:18

      So do i HOLLA.

    Shake n bake · 12/05/2016 at 22:27

Zorko for me it suits me in my bye rds.

    @TheNoLanguage · 13/05/2016 at 01:01

I went the Zork but it was a tough call. Seems to be spending pretty much all his time in the middle which is great for his contested footy. Not gonna change with Rocky out either

Gemma · 12/05/2016 at 18:59

Freo in full tank mode in round 8 otherwise Barlow plays. Nearly BOG 2 weeks ago.

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:11

Agreed. may as well rest some good players though then you have an excuse when the scoreline is 150 to 30.

    Harry · 12/05/2016 at 21:55

Ross Lyon 'We need to reset, revisit and refocus. It's not ideal but we're under no illusions. Make no mistake, it's a ruthless and uncompromising competition. We need to bring a higher output and discipline to our next contest and it's self evident that we didn't stick to our structures to be truthful'.

Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:03

I'd trade McCarthy to Dusty and Mills to Petracca.

    Nicholas · 12/05/2016 at 19:12

Yeh not enough cash for the that I came up about 15k short 🙁

andrew · 12/05/2016 at 19:04

hi community, I'm in a bit of strife! Could someone please tell me the estimated weeks the following will miss:

Laird, Barlow, adams and wells

Going from the current information i know I have made the following trades but I would happily reverse them if someone has a better idea!!

Wells —— Dusty or montagna
adams —— docerty

Thanks Andrew

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:10

I'd almost say Wells is a bigger asset than Barlow (as long as he returns in a week)

Adams should be back in a week also. Not a fan of these moves both guys have attainable BE's.

Got McCarthy and Mills to trade instead? Both have Be's close to 100 and don't look like hitting them.

    The Mountain · 12/05/2016 at 19:44

Whack them all on the pine, they all should be back next week, adams maybe 2 depending on how his finger is.If you have other areas that need fixing such as a mills or weitering id fix them first

Cashcows · 12/05/2016 at 19:07

Can anyone beat this?
Here are all those on the pine for me:

Adams, Laird, Gray, Davis, Dunkley, Grimley, Wells, Wyatt and Greene and Barlow donuts on field.
Fielding 20. Expecting to drop into 10k+ ranking.

    Cashcows · 12/05/2016 at 19:08

Went Weitering + Mills to Rance and Simpson. Cant DPP fwd. 22 trades left.

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:08

Nope can't beat that, I've managed to field 22 and have an emergency on my mid and forward benches.

Dunkley is possibly playing by the way he's on the extended bench.

      Cashcows · 12/05/2016 at 19:12

Minor consolation. But I fully expect him to miss out.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 12/05/2016 at 22:33

Exactly the same, got 22 just by trading in dusty and petrecca for weita and mccarthy.
Got menapoo as fwd cover and maybe dunkley as mid cover.
If named will loop with smith as the E and gray on field.
No cover in def, like most have adams and laird on the pine.

    The Ranger · 12/05/2016 at 22:37

Ouch! The perfect storm mate eh?
Trades look god tho, good luck!

    CoachDamo · 13/05/2016 at 00:17

I'm without laird, Adams, rockliff, Greene, simpkin, Barlow, McCarthy, wells, grimley, Davis. Was ranked in the top 150 last week. The drop this week could be ugly!

poloko48 · 12/05/2016 at 19:14

Laird still out too.

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:17

They are probably being careful, hope he's back next week.

Mitch · 12/05/2016 at 19:16

Dahlhaus or Pendles?

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:40

    Danners · 12/05/2016 at 20:26

Dahlhaus if in the forward line

Tommo09 · 12/05/2016 at 19:24

Had to make a few changes to get the best players I could on the field.

Def: Shaw, Simpson, DBJ, Tippa, M.Brown, Byrne (LAIRD, ADAMS)
Mid: Danger, Hannebery, Parker, GAJ, Libba, M.Crouch, Kennedy, Keays (WELLS, Smith, Gresham)
Ruc: Goldy, NicNat (Grimley)
Fwd: Martin, Hall, Franklin, Kerridge, Papley, Petracca (BARLOW, Menadue)

Is my midfield that bad???

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:39

If it's bad what are you going to do about it?

Just play the team you can, plenty of people going to be in the same boat this week.

    The Mountain · 12/05/2016 at 19:40

You need a few more premos in you mid for my liking mate

      Tommo09 · 12/05/2016 at 19:44

Will have Priddis and Pendles/Selwood in there next week

breakevens · 12/05/2016 at 19:28

Trades this week
Mills to Martin
Barlow to Docherty

Ron · 12/05/2016 at 19:30

Advice on Trades. 326k left, 25 Trades.
Barlow, Wells, Gray, Weitering, Adams, McCarthy all OUT.
Looking at best options to salvage this week and make the best trades. Advice community, please?
Have to wait on Sunday games too.

Def: Shaw, Rich, Seedsman, D Byrne-Jones, Tippa, Brown, Adams, Weitering
Mid: Ablett, Danger, Priddis, Smith, Hannebury, Libba, Mills, Hewett, R Gray, Davis, Oliver
Ruc: Gawn, Natanui, Grimley
Fwd: D Martin, A Hall, Wells, Kerridge, Barlow, Kennedy, McCarthy, Menadue

    andrew · 12/05/2016 at 19:35

i'd say trade out wells for montagna or dalhause

    The Mountain · 12/05/2016 at 19:37

trade weits to a simpson or rance type, then mcCarthy to petracca

I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 19:32

My 5th year of SC. First time I've had a premo dropped. Had to be Ross. Asshole!

    Phil · 12/05/2016 at 19:35

lol or maybe you picked Barlow?

Tommo · 12/05/2016 at 19:38

Pretty happy i am still able to field 22 this week with Laird, Wells, Greene, Mckenzie, Davis all on the bench unable. Also had Adams but trading him. Would these important outs mean we may expect a "good" score may be a bit lower this week? If so, what do you reckon will be a good score. I know it is hard to tell before the round has even started but would like to hear your opinion.

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:50

    Good score 2250?

      Steeeve · 12/05/2016 at 20:02

Great score. I'm looking at 2000 tops. Disaster round last week, went under 2000. This week I have four of my better players on the pine.

Anyone else happy with their team but putting up awful scores?

Wayno76 · 12/05/2016 at 19:44

Is Barlow Injured or just being rested ? Im having a shit start to year I seem to bring in players when they score low , injured or late withdrawals …. Supercoach just seems hard this year

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:49

Omitted ie dropped but I think it's more of a rest, but you can't say you're resting 3 guys when you are 0-7 without it looking like blatantly giving up.

      Wayno76 · 12/05/2016 at 20:15

Ross has a knack of putting clubs at the bottom of the ladder … Still you dont hear about his job being on the line evryones talking about bucks at least he is trying lol

        Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:16

    Phil · 12/05/2016 at 19:51

    He's omitted

    Phil · 12/05/2016 at 21:47

Who knows, with Lyons? Doesn't matter he is out and glad I dropped him!

Tommo09 · 12/05/2016 at 19:45

What are people thinking a good score will be???

    Wayno76 · 12/05/2016 at 19:56

At the moment Im just happy to get 2000+ ive had weeks were my projected score has been 2390 and ive scored 1900 The super coach gods are punishing me

    Dean · 12/05/2016 at 21:14

I'll be happy with a score of 500 YES thats right 500…lol Bloody hell I have Laird, Adams, Wells, Barlow, C Rioli all on my bench, I have cover however id need a TON of rookies to go HUGE.

    Absolute DISASTROUS.

Tommo09 · 12/05/2016 at 19:48

Goldy VC
Hannebery, Parker or Gaz C???

    Foti186 · 12/05/2016 at 19:52

Gaz. Only because I think Gold Coast will win.

      Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:56

      Against GWS at Spotless!

That place is fast becoming the place of nightmares for opposition teams that is a massive call!

        Foti186 · 12/05/2016 at 21:47

There has to be one upset this week. And I also like a punt so maybe $10 on the suns. Lol.

      Tommo · 13/05/2016 at 08:54

Someone posted in another thread earlier this week about how midfielders have very much struggled against GWS this season. Plus he hasn't been in the greatest form of late. So i wouldn't have much confidence in putting the C on him this week. Maybe VC as you have someone to fall back on.

Holty · 12/05/2016 at 19:48

well i should stop trading as it seems to affect things. Traded in Barlow last week and now being rested. Traded in Fantasia 2 rounds ago. Was playing on the wing and was looking the goods. Since ive made that trade, he has been playing in the forward line. Guess thats Supercoach for you.Aaaarrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh

    Phil · 12/05/2016 at 19:53

Sounds like you really dont know what your doing rather than SC! ; )

    D-Train · 13/05/2016 at 04:11

Stop chasing points, start bringing in premiums.

Sam · 12/05/2016 at 19:53

Bartel or Enright?

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:57

    Danners · 12/05/2016 at 20:25

Tough one, but Bartel is probably just a bit less injury prone

Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 19:54

Wow I'm running a powerful forward line this week…………..

Hall, Kerridge, Kennedy, De Goey, M.Brown, Petracca.

    Tommo09 · 12/05/2016 at 20:03

      Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:12

You wanna see something crazy……………… backline!

Shaw, Bartel, AMT, DBJ, Hartley, Byrne

DBJ is on the extended bench but confident he'll play. No emergency!

        Phil · 12/05/2016 at 20:47

DBJ should play if he doesn't Ill be surprised/?

        Loop · 13/05/2016 at 06:06

Mines almost the same except I have Brown instead of Hartley. I traded Adams for Bartel this week and have Laird and O McD on the bench. I was happy to keep the Ess boys until the byes but it was a better plan when I could use McD as a loophole.

      Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:13

I'll be lucky to make 1900 lol

        Swans2012 · 12/05/2016 at 20:17

        How about my form
I have all of Barlow, Greene, laird, rocky, and wells warming the pine after trades this week
Going to be rough…. Can cover but gee it's not going to be pretty

          Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:21

Holy crap! May the supercoach gods be kind to you in the immediate future of next round!

            Phil · 12/05/2016 at 20:49

Heater is on extended bench and I know they will not sitting him!

              Phil · 12/05/2016 at 20:50

              Its all a rouse!

              Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:51

He's on the bench but not the extended bench 🙂

annoying old lady · 12/05/2016 at 19:56

Hi all. I'm bringing in a premo defender this week, and I'm torn between Matthew Boyd and Alex Rance.

Boyd ($540,300)
– Has averaged over 100 in 8 of the last 9 seasons (97 in that one season)
– Murphy done for the year will help him, Johanissen gone till later in the season will all but guarantee good scores until then
– Accumulates possessions week in and week out

– Age..?

Rance ($549,000)
– In a shit team, will have the pill down his end more often than in previous years
– Is in peak physical condition and is shown to be a durable player
– Is averaging 105 this season

– Prone to sporadic type scoring (massive ceiling, low floor)
– Only averaged over 90 once (last season, 97 average)

    annoying old lady · 12/05/2016 at 19:57

Sorry, but failed to mention I have Shaw, Simpson, and Laird already

      marcus · 12/05/2016 at 20:02

id be going boyd although I'm worried he will get rested at some point so I'm going rance

      Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:14

If you care about bye round Rich, Carl and crows all have the same break.

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:05

    'Throws spanner into the works'

    Docherty 487k ave 100.

    Same bye round as Rance.

      annoying old lady · 12/05/2016 at 21:11

Haha! Nice work Southern S. I thought you must have been a shit bloke when you and that dude were getting in an argument the other week, but I've seen you on here a fair bit and i reckon you're a good bloke 😀

Docherty is a genuine option! I'm still probably going to go with Boyd, simply because he has been such a reliable scoring option over the last decade, and I'm not too phased about his age. It would suit me better to have Boyd for the byes as well. But yes, I definitely had a look at Docherty because of this comment.

        Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 23:39

Yep can't go wrong with Boyd.

          Loop · 13/05/2016 at 06:09

I'm waiting to see how the Bulldogs go when they play outdoors.

    Danners · 12/05/2016 at 20:25

Boyd, more likely to be consistent

Steeeve · 12/05/2016 at 19:59

Sun's bring in FIVE but no R Davis. He tore it up in the twos as well.

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:09

I'm not surprised he's not back, had no impact and they need it right now!

    Glad I traded him.

      Steeeve · 12/05/2016 at 20:32

Everyone wants to trade him but he's worth Bugger all

        Phil · 12/05/2016 at 20:45

He's a good loophole dont trade him, he will get back in

        Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:58

I had a feeling he wouldn't be back after his 37 and 33 so upgraded him to Hannebery. Was a call I had to make for the progress of my team plus I have a big warchest.

Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:18

My team is running a 5 rookie forwardline, and a 4 rookie backline but even I don't have to stoop so low, that's disgusting.

    I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 20:20

You won't be the only one southern. Many will be. Some will have Greene as well. Even worse

    Steeeve · 12/05/2016 at 20:29

Four rookie backline for me. Three rookies in the forward line. May still bench Menadue for the Smith boy from Collingwood via DPP

      Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:53

I'd play Smith he still got 18 touches last week.

      Rocksta · 12/05/2016 at 21:26

      Smith is not a DPP

        Steeeve · 12/05/2016 at 22:14

Doesn't have to be. BenKen forward, Menadue mid. Menadue bench. Welcome.

          Wizardry, significant wizardry.

AverageAdsy · 12/05/2016 at 20:26

I have no idea what to do this week, so i thought id turn to the community!

Ive got 3 options ive been pondering all week

1: Mills to Petracca & De Goey to D.Martin
2: Mills to Petracca & De Goey to L. Dalhaus
3: Mills to Ward & De Goey to Petracca

What are your thoughts

    3 is currently locked in!
Lets see how many times i change it before lockout! Haha

my team is
Shaw Houli, Tipungwuti, DBJ, Byrne, Ruggles (Laird, Adams)
Dangerfield, Hannebery, Ward, ablett, shiel zieball priddis petracca (hewett, gresham davis)
Big Beard, nic nat (lorensch)

Puopolo_Culture · 12/05/2016 at 20:38

Looking to work on my defense this week.

My current defensive premos are Shaw, Houli, Laird.

Who is my best pick between Boyd, Simpson, Docherty and Bartel?

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:48

I like Docherty and Bartel but all are possibly top defenders this year.

      Puopolo_Culture · 12/05/2016 at 22:00

Yeah, that is the problem. Cheers.

        annoying old lady · 13/05/2016 at 08:37

        – Accumulates large amounts of the pill, week in and week out
        – Average over 100 in 8 of the last 9 seasons (and a 97 average)
        – Age may be an issue..

        – Doing what Simpson has done for his whole career; providing consistent output
        – Does not appear to be slowing down as many expected he would
        – Age may be an issue

        – Relatively unproven
        – Will he keep up this scoring all year?

        – His best is behind him
        – Still scoring very well
        – May very well be rested forward/in the coaches box as the year goes on

With the injuries at the doggies, Boyd seems to be a great option, but I would suggest the safest option of the bunch is Kade Simpson. Has consistently been getting it done for years. Boyd a close second, and if his role in the team stays the same when Johanissen comes back, he will most likely outscore Simpson.

Connor · 12/05/2016 at 20:40

Can someone post the scoring system for me please?

farmerwantsafyfe · 12/05/2016 at 20:41

do we trade out adams with him possible being out for 2 weeks?

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 20:47

Listed as test on the AFL website so he will miss only this weekend.

Dean · 12/05/2016 at 21:00

I have absolue CARNAGE after the teams came out, however before I go on about that, this is my trades for round 7 Mills to Dusty Martin and Davis to Petracca.

The players injured or dropped this week for me are M Adams, Barlow, C Rioli & Wells. Talk about having a $hit load of bad luck, in defence on my bench I have Adams & Laird. My bench in the midfield is Wells & Barlow and I am forced to put the delicious C Rioli on the bench in my forward line giving me realistically only the one Emergence in Menadue up forward. I have DBJ & Petracca on the extended bench so not a certainly to play however I will be very surprised if they don't play DBJ & Petracca.

THE TEAM I AM FORCED TO GO IN WITH FOR ROUND 7 (UNBELIEVABLE) My rank of 7,000 will go to 70,000 after this week.
DEF: Rance, Rich, AMT, Brown, DBJ, Hartley (Adams, Laird)
MID: Danger, Hannebery, Ward, GAJ, Wines, Libba, Kennedy, Smith (Wells, Barlow, Dunkley)
RUCK: Nic Nat, Goldy (Wyatt)
FWD: Hall, Motlop, Martin, Kerridge, Cox, Petracca (C Rioli, Menadue)

No point me trading out Menadue as I was originally going to do just to generate $35k more in cash. I could have brought in TWO premiums such as Martin & Simpson if I got rid of Mills & Adams however I would miss out on the cash generation from Petracca. Thoughts community as I have really pi$$ed off the SC Gods it seems.

    Hawks · 12/05/2016 at 21:13

Good trades, agree Petracca is a must get this week.

In the same position pretty much carnage wise.

    hedski · 13/05/2016 at 00:35

Oh well Deano ya had a good win the other night 😉

saalih · 12/05/2016 at 21:01

my defence is shaw, simpson, amt,db-jones,adams, ruggles (laird, hartley)

i want to trade adams but im not sure who the best option is out of boyd, docherty, rance, pittard, bartel etc. i am leaning towrads pittard as his lowest score has been 87, im not sure on the other boys but this is my list,.

1. pittard
2. rance
4. docherty
5. bartel

i also want to trade kerridge and boost my forward line and this is what it looks like

martin, hall, papley, kennedy, kerridge, brown (barlow, wells)

i am looking at zorko and dalhaus and cant split the two.

at the moment i am most likely going to upgrade adams as defence is very weak but i am not sure who to pick and would love suggestions.

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 21:03

Don't trade Adams he's out for one week, but trade him instead of Kerridge if you are happy using them prematurely.

      saalih · 12/05/2016 at 21:28

I am trading adams because his be is 68 and i dont think he will make enough cash soon enough so i think i will trade him instead of kerridge as kerridge can hit his be and can continue making cash. also we dont know how long adams will be out for.

        Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 23:18

True and fair enough, I'm convinced Adams will be back next week minor finger fractures are nothing and he would've had practically 2 weeks healing anyway.

I could be wrong though I'm no doctor lol.

    Hawks · 12/05/2016 at 21:16

Out of the premo defenders you list Rance is the best.

      saalih · 12/05/2016 at 21:29

i am very tempterd by him but richmonds form creates big doubt in my head.

        Dean · 12/05/2016 at 21:44

I would trade Adams to Rance, I started with Rance and selected him as my D1 unfortunately he got suspended for 2 weeks but glad he is back, if he didn't get suspended then chances are he would still be #1 defender.

saalih are you ranked TOP 300 yet?

          saalih · 12/05/2016 at 22:00

i am ranked 127th and it looks like i will be brining alex rance this week. thanks boys.

            saalih · 12/05/2016 at 22:26

for those wondering my team name is score galore

        Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 23:38

A team's form doesn't always affect defenders though, look at Kade Simpson at Carlton or Zac Dawson at Freo.

          Saalih · 13/05/2016 at 07:30

I know there are some exceptions like zag Dawson. But he is one of a kind.

Back to the serious stuff I'm not sure if rance will be a consistent scorer down back but I am willing to take the risk.

The Ranger · 12/05/2016 at 21:10

Jeez there's gonna be same pain for the Community this weekend eh?!
I'm looking forward to seeing Patch's Simpsons cartoon and that's about it for the next few days.
Although there is a bit of me that's thinking of The Bruyn Manouevre and wondering if there isn't the opportunity for someone to make up a lot of points this weekend.

JJB · 12/05/2016 at 21:17

My Rucks are:

NicNat & Goldy

Do I need to trade out Nic Nat for Gawn ??
Or is a wasted trade

    Tophawk · 12/05/2016 at 21:26

    Wasted trade.

Your team must be injury free to be considering such a trade.

    Good luck mate.

      D-Train · 13/05/2016 at 04:20

I agree with Tophawk. You've got the 2nd and 3rd highest scoring ruckmen in the comp. You wouldn't trade out a mid averaging 112, why would you do it with a ruckman?

Hawks · 12/05/2016 at 21:18

Looks like the priority has changed from upgrading rookies, to fielding a full team.

Jess_coach · 12/05/2016 at 21:27

Weitering to Bartel sound good?

Bartel 70-80k cheaper than Rance. Thoughts?

    Tophawk · 12/05/2016 at 21:46

    Hi Jess,

    I like it.

I had traded in Rance this round until I copped a mid/fwd curveball tonight. (Barlow, Wells, R.Gray, Adams all out). In reverse now.

Mc Carthy is out, and Davis is now out. Mills stays in because he is playing despite his 94 BE. As such, Bartel in via dpp.

    Good luck!

    HOLLA · 12/05/2016 at 21:48

I went rance, didnt even consider anyone else. Thoughts behind picking Jimmy??

      HOLLA · 12/05/2016 at 21:48

      Aside from the price*

        Jess_coach · 12/05/2016 at 22:02

        Hey Holla,

It mostly is price for me, but I expect Jimmy to average around 95. Hopefully more, but this is just guessing (could be more or less). All we know is he's a gun, and has averaged 100 for years apart from last year where he had injury concerns.

So maybe a very similar output to rance, but will give me the 80ish k to grab someone like priddis next week.

But you also have to factor in the needs of your team and the bye rounds. I already have Shaw, Simpson and Docherty. Dont like the look of Gibson, and McVeigh doesnt suit my byes.

Also, Lek noted in the preseason that the cats will want him to get to 300 games. Although Jimmy says its not a massive priority, i agree that he will play most, if not every, game ☺

          The Ranger · 12/05/2016 at 22:22

You still going for rank Jess? You were going well a while back weren't you?
If so then I'd say go for Bartel because at this stage of the season you're probably best to bring in consistent scorers so you can maintain position.
I've had a few years where I started well, lost rank for a few consecutive rounds and then couldn't get back so I may be biased!

            Jess_coach · 12/05/2016 at 22:48

Hi ranger yes im still in top 1000 but cant seem to break too far further

Agreed about starting strongly and dropping off. The last few years I've competed strongly but fallen off over time too. Its a tough and unforgiving game, and the winner will likely be that one in 200,000 team that flukes a perfect year lol

              The Ranger · 12/05/2016 at 23:26

Top 1K is pretty bloody good at this time of year I reckon Jess, good onya.
I'm in the late 2K's and just trying to stay around there until the byes.
Been much more careful with trades this year so far but also been lucky enough to miss a lot of injuries.
              Best of luck.

                Jess_coach · 12/05/2016 at 23:51

Thats great ranger. One good week can change anything. Good luck

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 23:16

Like it, Rance's price has peaked but if Bartel can keep performing like he is he could get to 550k+ also. It's a risk worth taking when it's a gun player like him, have also locked him in myself this week.

Noigerbour · 12/05/2016 at 21:28

Earth man

Tophawk · 12/05/2016 at 21:29

No way!

I am upgrading rookies and still fielding a full side.

Lots of bench warmers this week though.

Cheers mate

The Ranger · 12/05/2016 at 21:36

Dawson dropped.
Damm you Ross Lyon.

I N Pieman · 12/05/2016 at 21:36

Those that own Barlow & mills there is a way out of this. I’m not going to tell you what it is. Just search for value in the forward & midfield for your answer. Those clever enough will work it out

    The Ranger · 12/05/2016 at 22:42

    Nice one Pieman.
    Where's there's muck there's brass eh?

      james · 12/05/2016 at 23:34

      think i've got it Pieman
barlow + mills = $851,700 and i've worked out a way you can potentially get 2 premos

      go Barlow to Westhoff = $851,700 – 405,299= $446,500
then mills up to Marc Murphy which you will only need $1500 to do the trade

westhoff last 3 years has avg 90+ and has been very good this year scoring 109,88,99,85,121 but he has also scored 2 20's when port have been smashed

Murphy past 5 seasons avg 103,106,92,112,118 and this year avg is 85 but if you take out his injury affected game of 35 his avg would be 96 he has scored 123,84,64,36 (copped big head knock), 101,103

if this is ot what you're thinking of its a way to get out of the carnage

Paulie Walnuts · 12/05/2016 at 21:38

    Jess_coach · 12/05/2016 at 22:25

    Hawks · 12/05/2016 at 23:30

I'm taking Zac off the watch list, just didn't see this coming.

I guess Ross is just trying to prolong Zac's career, but I fear the AFL are going to see this move for what it is…the ultimate sign of TANKING

Advice on Trades. 326k left, 25 Trades.

OPTION 2: Trade Mills for Zorko, McCarthy for Petracca. (Focus on Mids)
OPTION 3: Looking for other options from community.

Def: Shaw, Rich, Seedsman, D Byrne-Jones, Tippa, Brown, Adams, Weitering
Mid: Ablett, Danger, Priddis, Smith, Hannebury, Libba, Mills, Hewett, R Gray, Davis, Oliver
Ruc: Gawn, Natanui, Grimley
Fwd: D Martin, A Hall, Wells, Kerridge, Barlow, Kennedy, McCarthy, Menadue

6 Injuries on the Pine

Adams, Laird, Gray, Wells, Barlow, Greene

This should be a fun week!

    Phil · 12/05/2016 at 22:00

You're not going to blame it on SC? Most people do?

      Tulendeena · 12/05/2016 at 22:08

Nah, just a spell of bad luck

I'm expecting all 6 of them back next week

Alex · 12/05/2016 at 22:01

Firstly Ward top 8? And anyone else concerned about having Selwood/Danger and Hannebery/Parker.

    Hawks · 12/05/2016 at 23:04

Ward will be top 10, somewhere between 6&10.

    No concerns having Selwood/Danger.

      Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 23:13

      Leeds17 · 13/05/2016 at 05:49

    Maestro · 12/05/2016 at 23:58

Only that everyone else has them as well!

Jacko · 12/05/2016 at 22:21

Any fwd/def rookies available at all this week??

    Cam_H · 13/05/2016 at 00:17

Unfortunately no player that has Fwd-Def status and is under $200,000 has been selected to play this week.

Several left-field options in the $200,000-$300,000 range (rookies?), but it's hard to see any as SC buy-ins. Mitch Brown of Essendon has a -18 break-even still, but at $279,200 'might' make another $60,000 – right now he would seem to be the best of what appears to be a bunch of players that are just about impossible to recommend. .Jed Adcock has slipped backwards a lot in the last three years in SC terms, although 'who knows' with what'll happen at the Bulldogs this season in light of their injury concerns. Dan McStay (Bris) and Steven Morris (Rich) would be just other wild punts. Really only consider in case of complete structural crisis.

Phil · 12/05/2016 at 22:23

if you dont trade out Adams this week u r foolish

    Hawks · 12/05/2016 at 23:01

Disagree. Adams is out for 1-2 weeks, won't go down in price, provides a double loophole opportunity if you have the ability to swing from Def to Fwd and vice-versa.

Adams can go next week, or the week after, or can be kept a while longer. His a consistent scorer offers the swing option, a couple of more decent scores, and he can make it to the byes.

    Tommo · 13/05/2016 at 09:06

I am personally getting rid of him, but i can definitely see why people are keeping him in. Isn't a foolish move by any means.

    JamiesNinjas13 · 13/05/2016 at 14:02

With this weeks carnage, how's that foolish?
You must know all 300,000 supercoach teams and their situation don't you? You must be a supercoach hacker arnt you?

Pridda · 12/05/2016 at 22:24

Keays, smith or dunkley on field? Can pick one.

    Pridda · 12/05/2016 at 22:27

*mills, smith or dunkley i meant

      Hawks · 12/05/2016 at 22:51

shemmist · 12/05/2016 at 22:26

gunston is looking very very tempting this week. only only 445k with a BE of 45. averaged 94 in 2014 and 96.7 in 2015 and hes only a young guy and i can see that improving even more. hes coming off a 103 and 113 and i probably would be getting him this week if dusty wasnt looking so delicious!

    Hawks · 12/05/2016 at 23:07

Good point. Best of all Gunston is playing all over the field. Getting possessions in the back-line, on the wings and still kicking goals.

Don't see his role changing too much when Roughead returns in 3-4 weeks.

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 23:35

    He's a great POD.

DDJ · 12/05/2016 at 22:32

G'day community! This week I'm most likely going mills > petracca & parish > keays.

I can handle the carnage without a donut this week but what should I do with Rockliff? Do I hold and hope his hamstring strengthening pays off or do I cut my losses and trade the depreciated premo? (21 trades after this week and $566k warchest)

TRIGGER HAPPY · 12/05/2016 at 22:47

I think barlow out will be a sign of things to come for freo as they manage their older players and allow the kids a game to see how they go against the big boys.

Fyfe already out for the season freo working towards 2017. Might not see Bennell either this year.

Went barlow to parker rd 3. No regrets as parker has been fantastic. Barlow has also been good since this trade but had a feeling he would be rested/managed at some stage.

    HOLLA · 12/05/2016 at 23:24

    No you didnt

50_Shades · 12/05/2016 at 22:50

Wow. What a round. And I thought I had my trades planned. Sheridan and Mills might have to stay a bother week just cos they're playing.

As is, I have NO bench
laird, Adams,
gray, Davis, Barlow,
wells, McCarthy.

Reckon Davis and McCarthy (maybe Adams) have to go…

    Hawks · 12/05/2016 at 23:23

Yeah, Davis & McCarthy for Petracca & ?

Mitch · 12/05/2016 at 22:51

3 players out in defence and 3 in forward line – have no dpp in mids

shaw simpson adams weitering laird amt m.brown dbj

hall martin wells kerridge barlow petracca menadue mccarthry
thought about going stronger in defence this week by trading mccarthy out and moving amt/brown forward to create dpp then trading in 2 premo defenders..

what the bloody hell do i do community, going for overall rank

    Hawks · 12/05/2016 at 23:19

Weitering needs to go, as does McCarthy.

Who comes in depends largely on how much cash you have.

      Mitch · 12/05/2016 at 23:26

Sorry forgot to mention have 360k

        Hawks · 12/05/2016 at 23:36

        Weitering to Rance
McCarthy to a cheap defender via DPP, setting up the AMT/Brown/Adams swing.

    Juzzy · 12/05/2016 at 23:26

Gee that's a bugger. How to avoid 2 doughnuts.
Maybe Mcarthy down to Redman (Ess. I think he is fwd/mid). That may give you enough cash to trade Weitering or Adams up to a decent defender.

    Good Luck.

    Juzzy · 12/05/2016 at 23:39

Good advice Hawks . I missed the $360K in the bank bit.
Don't trade in the Essendon boy .

TRIGGER HAPPY · 12/05/2016 at 22:58

I guess the only good thing about the carnage is they are NOT pods.
Every man woman and child will have wells, adams and laird.
And a big majority will also have barlow and green.
So will come down to your bench and if they can get the job done.
So don't be too trigger happy with the old trade button this week.

    The Ranger · 12/05/2016 at 23:11

I've got an itchy trigger finger Trigger.
    Davis > Hopper.
    Hopper onfield.
    Double upgrade next week.
    All in.

      HOLLA · 12/05/2016 at 23:28

You cant just go bringing in guys before theyve played two games let alone one game. I been waiting for hopper all year. I can wait another fortnight as should you.

        The Ranger · 13/05/2016 at 00:36

it makes no sense eh Holla?
        Gonna do it anyway.

          Tommo · 13/05/2016 at 09:14

He is a very good player but you have a set of plums doing it before he has even played a game. No clue what Holla is saying that you "can't" do it, it just takes a whole lot of guts. Good luck to ya mate.

    Hawks · 12/05/2016 at 23:13

I can't imagine too many teams not doing 2 trades this week.

Most would have traded twice before the carnage, with many cash cows hitting expiry, and Petracca on the bubble.
Don't think it's a case of trigger happy.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 12/05/2016 at 23:19

Just saying don't trade out the guys that may only miss a week

    Southern S · 12/05/2016 at 23:45

I'm hearing you, still doing the same trades as I planned earlier in the week, Mills+McCarthy to Bartel+Keays (Via DPP which also rejuvenates my lost FWD/DEF swing), gotta stay focused on the whole season not one week.

    hedski · 13/05/2016 at 00:49

    No Laird here

    AverageAdsy · 13/05/2016 at 09:21

I only have wells and adams on the bench this week due to injury! Ranked 756 so hopefully i can jump a few more places if the top ranked guys have some injury problems! 🙂

Lealey · 12/05/2016 at 23:46

So what do we do with Barlow ? Hold or fold ? And the big question is he a keeper ?

    JB_Tank · 13/05/2016 at 00:11

Fold. Lyon is putting the cue in the rack for the season.

HOLLA · 12/05/2016 at 23:50

So glad hopper has a call up. Been waiting for this plick. Will be watching very closely over the next two rounds. Tipping with all the outs this week many will miss out on at least one of the bubble boys for the week in Petracca and Keays. Im grabbing Petracca this week, Macpherson next week and hopefully hopper the week after. Then wait for the bang bang!

    Leeds17 · 13/05/2016 at 05:50

Smart to stay away from GWS kids imo won't get a good run in the team.

      The Ranger · 13/05/2016 at 07:47

      Hopper is exceptional.

      Southern S · 13/05/2016 at 10:18

Top draft pick (no.7) and racked up 68 disposals the last two weeks. If he plays and performs he'll probably stay.

        The Ranger · 13/05/2016 at 10:50

He only went at 7 cos he was an Academy pick.
He would have been No.1 by a country mile if not.

Jim · 13/05/2016 at 00:02

Hi all, I find myself in unfamiliar territory. Have only played for league win in the past, but find myself ranked 543rd at the mo, for which I owe heaps of thanks to this community. 22 trades left and will be trading Mills And McCarthy this week. Question is:

Mills – Keays
McCarthy – Petracca (624k in chest and should still win leagues)

Mills – Petracca
McCarthy – Dusty (gives dpp in mids and point generation for rank, + 227k chest)

Would really appreciate your thoughts

do I double down to Keays and Petracca leaving me with 624k In the chest, get PetraccaPetracca and Dusty, leaving me with 227k

    The Ranger · 13/05/2016 at 00:13

Never been where you are mate but I'd double down.
It gives you a massive war chest to take into into the byes.

      Jim · 13/05/2016 at 00:53

Thanks Ranger, that is what I'd normally do, but was leaning towards getting Dusty in, he does fit my bye strategy and I do like the thought of staying in touch. I think it's crunch time for me, probably boils down to whether I want to go for league win or rank.

    Russ · 13/05/2016 at 00:58

Agree with Ranger Jim, doubling down will leave you in a strong position moneywise, and Petracca could end up being as good or better than Dusty?…might be worth a shot, you can't afford to miss the boat on Petracca.

      Jim · 13/05/2016 at 01:21

Cheers Russ, will get Petracca in either way, other trade is between Keays (money) and Dusty (points?) I'm also concerned that 600k is too much money to have not generating points?

        hedski · 13/05/2016 at 02:05

I'm doing the mills/Mccarthy to Keays/chopstick this week jim only because I started petracca?in your possie I think you can go the first option Dusty wont rise much and warchest is massive.

    Southern S · 13/05/2016 at 10:15

I'm not sure Jim, with many struggling to field a good team this week, an extra premo this week may pay off and allow you to move up the ranks.

There should* be MacPherson and then hopefully the young Giants midfielder Jacob Hopper will be on the bubble the following week.

That saying Dusty could score an 80 or so as he does and you don't lose much on the double downgrade anyway.

Gotta go with your gut mate.

      Southern S · 13/05/2016 at 10:16

MacPherson next week, and Jacob Hopper is playing his debut this week so bubble in two*

        Jim · 13/05/2016 at 12:09

Thanks for your thoughts all, I've decided to go the double downgrade, and cross my fingers without chopsticks. Hoping the extra $$$ will be worth more than the extra points in the long run.

Sarah · 13/05/2016 at 00:18

Hi guys
Absolutely stumped with what I should do. Find myself going for ranks this year but really not sure what to do with trades this week. Have 23 trades 270k

Shaw laird Bartel rich dbj Adams- brown Byrne
Danger Parker ward pendles Libba mills smith- Hewett Dunkley Davis
Gawn goldy- Goetz
Dahl hall Barlow wells kerridge Kennedy – Petracca menadue

Any thoughts be appreciated!! 😀

    Sarah · 13/05/2016 at 00:26

    Whoops + ablett

    Russ · 13/05/2016 at 00:55

Hi Sarah, if you want to trade, maybe Mills to Keays, to make some more cash, and Kennedy to Dusty, or just do nothing and field your team with your benchies backing up your outs.

    Shake n bake · 13/05/2016 at 09:49

Can you do Mills to Selwood?

    Jim · 13/05/2016 at 12:24

What about Mills to Dusty via Petracca, gives you the extra premium fwd with Barlow and Wells out, plus you get Petracca – Kennedy/Menadue swing set for the future.

    Redgumwon · 13/05/2016 at 12:32

Hi Sarah maybe trade Barlow to Zorko or Dusty. Then trade Davis or maybe Dunkley to Keays?

Josh · 13/05/2016 at 01:21

Hello community, would love to get chopsticks This week but with injuries I have to get either Simpson or Shaw (will get other next week with martin) both have similar be's so I guess my question is who do we think will score the highest of these two in order to make the most of my bank??

    Chill · 13/05/2016 at 12:40

Super_bj · 13/05/2016 at 06:06

Hey community im in trouble. Injury has destroyed my team for the last 3 weeks and this week I have to make a decision to either upgrade Marcus Adams and miss out on keays or to downgrade to keays and play the week 1 short.
Im not sure I'm ready to let go of Adams yet but I do not have any playing players on my bench. They are all out injured

    LtDraught · 13/05/2016 at 08:50

It has certainly been a cruel few weeks for us supercoachers, this week has hit a lot of us hard. I dont think keays is necessarily a 'must have', but it depends on your teams level of cash generation. If you desperately need an extra cash cow then keays is your man (given you already have petracca), but is it worth a donut? I wouldnt hesitate killing off Adams, even though he has a little more money to make he's only a cashcow after all. Id want to field a full team and have that extra premo, but thats me.

    Hope that helps mate!

Paul · 13/05/2016 at 06:13

Wells, Greene, Barlow, McCarthy and Adams all out. FMSC

Traded out Mills and McCarthy for Keays and Petracca. But of shuffling and i have no donuts. Don't know how Barlow got dropped.

johnno2908 · 13/05/2016 at 07:18

Basically an early bye week, some very tough decisions to be made. Unfortunately in my cash league, my opponent only has Adams and wells out. I have been keeping some DPP links in place, so I can field a team… But I am missing Laird, Adams, Barlow, Greene and Wells.

Neverweaken · 13/05/2016 at 07:20

Is Keays a must have. I have Petracca. Traded out mills for Selwood. Can afford anyone but nothing is simple. Rance and Simpson awkwardly priced. Buddy has dreaded r14 bye Pendles is awkward price. So only the one trade.
Trade out Adams for Keays? Or just sit and wait for byes

    Southern S · 13/05/2016 at 10:55

I wouldn't say pendles is priced badly at 590k.

Clarky · 13/05/2016 at 07:46

Hi Guys

I have a dilemma. I have 582k to buy a premo forward. I do not have Dusty in my team. I have noticed he is very common and seems as though getting Dusty in wont do a lot in terms of ranking due to him being so popular. This is how my forward line looks like:
Merrett, Franklin, Greene, Wells, Kerridge, De Goey.
I have looked at their % owned and they are all very high, with Greene being the Lowest with 9% and the highest being Wells with 66%.
My Question, is having Dusty making my Forward line too common? I am wanting to push up the ranking and i reckon not having him might work as a good POD in itself.
Please leave your thoughts and Opinions!

    james · 13/05/2016 at 07:54

    Riewoldt 2% of teams
    zorko 8% teams
    Montagna 5% teams

      Clarky · 13/05/2016 at 08:31

If i was to get someone other than Dusty, it would be Zorko

    Harley · 13/05/2016 at 11:05

    Maybe Motlop ?

james · 13/05/2016 at 07:59

if you're ineed to trade barlow and mills this is a potential trade you can do to gain 2 fallen premos and big PODs

barlow + mills = $851,700 and i've worked out a way you can potentially get 2 premos

go Barlow to Westhoff = $851,700 – 405,299= $446,500
then mills up to Marc Murphy which you will only need $1500 to do the trade

westhoff last 3 years has avg 90+ and has been very good this year scoring 109,88,99,85,121 but he has also scored 2 20's when port have been smashed

Murphy past 5 seasons avg 103,106,92,112,118 and this year avg is 85 but if you take out his injury affected game of 35 his avg would be 96 he has scored 123,84,64,36 (copped big head knock), 101,103

    Average Joe · 13/05/2016 at 08:07

You should only be bringing in fallen premos or top 10 players. Westhoff and Murphy are both decent picks, but wouldn't really want them in my team come finals

    Tommo · 13/05/2016 at 08:34

I can't see Westhoff being a keeper come end of the season to be honest. Won't be a consistent scorer, and for an extra 100-150k, you should be able to get a much more consistent scorer and a potential keeper.

      I N Pieman · 13/05/2016 at 09:04

Yeah but he'd be a pretty decent F7. Keep in mind we all have Mid/Fwd in the FWD line that can cover the Mids as well. So effectively he can cover 2 lines

Alex · 13/05/2016 at 08:37

Trade Marcus Adams BE 68 or Mitch McGovern BE 67 for a super premo?

    Kev · 13/05/2016 at 09:39

MMcG. More reliable premos up forwsrd

Gus · 13/05/2016 at 08:40

Wells, Greene, Barlow, Rockliff all out this week and sure I've got two trades, but means I'll still have 1 on th ground scoring a big fat doughnut….and the prospect of Goldy being rested means 2 big fat doughnuts. Super coach just seems really really hard this year. Time to bring in rule changes for injured players.

For example, if injured have one Emerg, specific only to cover an injured player – bring further strategy to the game and how you set up bench. Take note supercoach, this will re-invigorate a tired looking fantasy footy league, which is losing players year by year!

    Tommo · 13/05/2016 at 09:30

Not a good idea. I know we all hate injuries but its part of footy and part of supercoach. Not sure how your idea would work. We just gotta take injuries on the chin. Thats why it's important to have a playing bench to cover.

    Southern S · 13/05/2016 at 10:49

Agree with Tommo, and anyway supercoach is so much etter than fantasy it has a far superior scoring system etc it makes no sense why supercoach has players dropping off, oh wait of course it does marketing.

      Southern S · 13/05/2016 at 10:49

      so much better*

GoyGoy · 13/05/2016 at 08:42

McGovern. Adams should b back next wk.

Can not choose between Simpson Rance or Boyd. Already got Docherty…

    Kev · 13/05/2016 at 09:36

Both the McGoverns are named this week?
    Simpson, Rance, Boyd

      GoyGoy · 13/05/2016 at 10:27

Cheers kev. My hearts saying same.

Tommo · 13/05/2016 at 08:43

Who should i chuck the VC and then if fails, the C on?

Selwood, Goldy, Ablett, Ward, Pendles?

    Phil · 13/05/2016 at 09:14

I would say Selwood VC Pendels C

    Average Joe · 13/05/2016 at 10:59

Cyril is delicious · 13/05/2016 at 08:55

Hey community, best upgrade option, 2k off ward. Thinking Sloan? Priddis? Lost for options, so many premiums out…

    Kev · 13/05/2016 at 09:32

    Cam_H · 13/05/2016 at 09:45

I'm going Zorko this week. Suits my bye structure, dual-position Fwd-Mid, and should be a top six Forward at season's end.

Best of luck with whatever you choose!

Mongrel punt · 13/05/2016 at 09:01

Dilemma community I was unaware it was a bye round this week. With half my fwd line and a third of my defense out.
Who do I play. Cox or Menadue.

    Phil · 13/05/2016 at 09:17

lol its not a bye RD

      Kev · 13/05/2016 at 09:31

      Hear that wooshing sound, Phil?

Neither a standout option mongrel, though Cox has shown he can go 80+

    Grahame Lebroy · 13/05/2016 at 09:44

I look to be having a bye round also not good. I would go with Cox this week

Dee · 13/05/2016 at 09:20

are you able to do the loophole manoeuvre in AFL fantasy or is it just SUPERCOACH?

    Kev · 13/05/2016 at 09:27

Just SC I believe, fantasy doesn't have a rolling lockout

      Dee · 13/05/2016 at 09:39

      thanks Kev….

    breakevens · 13/05/2016 at 12:32

    AFL fantasy sucks

      Sunshine · 13/05/2016 at 13:16

Crap break evens. I play both games. The beauty about AFL fantasy is that you pick your team on Friday and see how it goes. For 'normal' people with family and weekend sport this aspect is VIP. For nerds who have nothing else in their weekend lives to do except SC, watching every game and pulling their hair etc!!!! SC is not as good a game as yesterday because of the silly changes and that is why it had dropped from 400+K players. Don't fix something that ain't broke'. What do others think?

        Southern S · 13/05/2016 at 13:36

What you can't use your smartphone once or twice on a weekend for 30 seconds to set your captain etc jeez it's tough playing sc.

          Sunshine · 13/05/2016 at 13:57

Southern S, you are typical of the sort of nerd I was referring to. Your opinions are plastered all over SC. Obviously you have very little else in your life except SC.

            Southern S · 13/05/2016 at 14:10

I admit I love SC but it doesn't take up my weekend at all, that just makes no sense.

            Southern S · 13/05/2016 at 14:13

You don't need to watch every game it has nothing to do with the outcome, you only have to check how your vice captain has done and adjust accordingly, takes 30 seconds.

You assuming that everyone who plays SC is a die hard or nerd is just ignorant, arrogant and plain wrong. Each to their own sunshine.

              Sunshine · 13/05/2016 at 14:40

Fair enough Southern S and my apologies because when I do have time to troll Jock I have noted that you make some sensible comments. I should have also mentioned that SC have withdrawn your opponents bench which I cannot understand why because there was no forewarning. AFL fantasy has retained this aspect and display it very well. Good luck at the weekend.

                Southern S · 13/05/2016 at 16:11

Yeah I don't like the hiding of the bench either, not sure what motivated them to do that.

No problems Sunshine have a good weekend!

    Same as me.

Liam · 13/05/2016 at 11:50

Who do we think is going to be top 10 mids ? (On average)
I think Parker, Danger, Selwood, Hanners, Pendles, Ward, Gaz, JPK, Beams, Priddis.

    I N Pieman · 13/05/2016 at 13:02

If Rocky goes on a tear he could cover most of those

breakevens · 13/05/2016 at 11:51

Jarrad Mcveigh or Jasper Pittard

    Rick Grimes · 13/05/2016 at 11:58

I went McVeigh because he's a known premium, but was tempted by young Jasper. Seems to be breaking out this season. May well still come into my side as D6 if he keeps his scoring up.

    I N Pieman · 13/05/2016 at 13:01

Solid case for both really. Pittard is playing very well & consistent scoring. Toss a coin

Jess_coach · 13/05/2016 at 12:00

        TRIGGER HAPPY · 13/05/2016 at 13:25

Yeah I think with the carnage this week lots of rookies will b filling spots on the field. Our fate is in the hands of our rooks and it is only Rd 8! Let's hope they pump out scores similar to last week.

Add Houli to that. He's next man down

Dan · 13/05/2016 at 13:06

Would love to offload Mills this week but I started the season with Keays and brought in Petracca last week. Was wondering if the community had any wisdoms on the job security of Macpherson and Dunkley. My pride loathes to bring Dunkley back in because I also started with him and gave him the flick when he was cut from the Dogs lineup but he is on the bubble. Ideally I would hold off and wait, which I probably will do anyway, and hope Macpherson looks the goods (scored decently while his team got slaughtered), but if only there was a downgrade option I could get Martin in this week and save myself money from his price going up and Mills' going down.

    Jess_coach · 13/05/2016 at 13:15

Would jump on Mcpherson this week over Dunkley if they were the two choices

    Northernsoul74 · 13/05/2016 at 13:30

Dunkleys job security isn't great, I'd be surprised if he makes the cut today.

    I N Pieman · 13/05/2016 at 14:12

Dunkley has no JS whatsoever. Dismiss him. McP is a way better option & should get a run. Get rid of Mills. You can leave turds on my bench, but on the ground & your straight out

Tommo · 13/05/2016 at 13:42

Well Houli has screwed me now. I had 22 playing players but now i will be fielding a big fat 0. Anyone else not fielding 22?

    I N Pieman · 13/05/2016 at 14:09

Last week I couldn't loop. Too many players. This week no one to loop. A late out in Def or Ruck will provide a Krispy Kreme

Hazey · 13/05/2016 at 14:15

Do we think McVeigh is ripe top bring in?

Harley · 13/05/2016 at 14:49

Houli and JPK out now! Haha, this round is just getting funnier by the minute. It's probably safer to not trade this round as you might bring in someone who pulls out anyway!

    Powerage · 13/05/2016 at 15:14

Any idea how long for Houli? Do we dare trade him?

HOLLA · 13/05/2016 at 15:48

Ahhh this is hilarious! Havent seen a round like this or season like this before. Cant wait to see how much i climb in the rankings.
