The Round 7 AFL Cheat Sheet

Published by Jock on

Supercoach 2016 midpriced forwardsG’day Community Lekdog here,

It’s been a tough week for injuries and low scores but I’m here to help guide you to glory. For once we have a few downgrade options outside of defense and a few premos who are ripe for the picking.

I’ll note that I haven’t included Grimley or Howard in this cheat sheet because they aren’t very good at football, however with Lobbe going down it looks like Port will have to stick with Howard so keep him on your radar for CoachKings (probably not Supercoach or AFL Fantasy).

Let me know what you think Community, who do we chop and who do we pick?

Good work Lek!

    jockreynolds · 04/05/2016 at 17:01

Mate.. he stuffed his eye at basketball last night. He's been in hospital. And still he delivers on one eye for his community.

      Phil · 04/05/2016 at 17:24

Oh wow hope he's ok? Good on ya Lek!!

        LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 17:42

Thanks mate, all good. Just a scratch to the cornea nothing a few drugs can't clear up!

          Phil · 04/05/2016 at 17:46

          Thats good mate! Get well!

      @an3vilmonk3y · 04/05/2016 at 17:31

It's the mo. It gives him power.

      EdCavey · 04/05/2016 at 17:41

      Inspirational man…

      LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 17:43

Do it for the Community Jock!

        Bomber56 · 04/05/2016 at 18:27

Lekdog will you ever have the time to make your weekly videos?
        They were very enjoyable 🙂

          LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 20:05

Cheers man, I'll try work something out for midseason when I'm on uni break

            Phil · 04/05/2016 at 20:58

Yeah have to agree miss and love the vids! Classic!

Saintsational · 04/05/2016 at 17:05

Smith or Cox for maximum cash generation?

    Dave · 04/05/2016 at 17:26

I reckon Smith, lower break even, more points = more cash sooner.

    LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 17:43

Smith will give more cash short term (and probably longterm)

    Saintsational · 05/05/2016 at 12:04

    Cheers fellas

Bomber56 · 04/05/2016 at 17:06

Don't know which is better this week.

Double downgrade to Smith and Cox
Smith and Parker

with one I hopefully get lots of cash for upgades and some DPP the other I am getting certian points and a locked in premium

    hedski · 04/05/2016 at 17:18

    Similar thinking here bomber.
I have no ruck backup (goldy/gawn/loersch) so its tempting to swing big cox around on the fwd bench.
Keen to bring in a simpson/dusty type but might be better double upgrade next week.
    Smith is a no brainer.
Any ideas on the big cox dilemma community?
Great work lekdog ya one eyed wonder.

      LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 17:45

Hey fellas, I'm generally always a paint the fence guy, one down one up. I too don't have any ruck cover so that's tempting em to do the rare double downgrade…
I reckon I'll end up just going Smith and if I have ruck problems later in the year pray that a rookie pops up

        Phil · 04/05/2016 at 17:49

That's what I'm doing. Hate to pass on Cox's but have to. Saying I hate to pass on Cox's sounds weird!

          Phil · 04/05/2016 at 17:50

But I'm passing on Cox's! Literally!

            50_Shades · 04/05/2016 at 18:25

In true 50 Shades style I'm injecting cox into an open slot this week.

              Dean · 04/05/2016 at 20:07

And what a HUGE cox it is Rex…

        hedski · 04/05/2016 at 20:37

Prob way to go. I'm thinking simpson this week and leave the def 4 deep plenty of good rooks still playing there (adams/tippa/dbj/brown/rug) and sharpen the knives for menapoo and co.

        Youngster · 05/05/2016 at 12:31

So if you do the double downgrade this week, how will you get in Petracca and Keays next when they (and potentially others) are on the bubble? Surely a double downgrade this week means double upgrade next week? If you don't have Petracca, you'd need to do another downgrade to grab him. This will leave massive warchest but really hurt the point scoring for several weeks whilst you try and inject the premos.

Just something to think about for next week when you want to upgrade but once again have some reasonable bubble boys you "must have".

          hedski · 05/05/2016 at 14:00

I'll go one up one down. I have petracca and will look at keays and another upgrade next week. Cheers

Boltons blues · 04/05/2016 at 17:12

Martin v Zorko
Who averages more from here on out
Is Zorko worth the extra 60k?

    Tone · 04/05/2016 at 17:19

    Get Martin now, Zorko later…

    Steeeve · 04/05/2016 at 17:22

Beams back hurts zorko. Lids back helps dusty. Expect dusty to be at least as good as zorko from here, if not better.

      Benjamima Puddleduck · 04/05/2016 at 23:01

im not sure how that statement works..
      Double standard comment.

        Steeeve · 05/05/2016 at 09:51

Incorrect. Dusty scores better when Lids plays because Lids takes the forward spot. Dusty goes midfield more because the Tiges have Lids as a target up forward instead.
Beams will take away some of Zorro's mid time, pushing him forward.
More mid time equals more points.

          Southern S · 05/05/2016 at 11:32

In turn tigers do better, Lids scores well.

Will be looking at Lids as a potential FWD keeper the guy is a gun and will be a POD.

        Double Dutch · 05/05/2016 at 12:46

        I agree.

    LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 17:45

If I'm getting one this week it's Dusty

      Boltons blues · 04/05/2016 at 22:15

I'm going the double upgrade, Dea and weitering to Simpson and Martin

        50_Shades · 05/05/2016 at 08:07

I'm waiting one more week on Martin. Yeah, it'll cost me $10k, maybe 15, but just not convinced enough.

marcus · 04/05/2016 at 17:18

josh smith or cox?
feel like smith will make more money but cox can be bench cover for my ruck

    LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 17:46

Smith and pray for no injuries

Jacob · 04/05/2016 at 17:23

Does dea for Boyd and tippa for cox sound good ?

    Matt · 04/05/2016 at 17:24

    LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 17:46

min0008 · 04/05/2016 at 17:26

Which option is better?

Double downgrade to Cox and Smith or
Smith and Simpson.

Will be trading Weitering and Dea

Pinidu · 04/05/2016 at 17:32

Community, I need your help. I have several possible trade routes and I need your advice on deciding which one…

27 Trades left. 488K in the bank.

Problems: Weitering, Dea, Laird (will hold), Kennedy, Menadue, Davis, McCarthy
Current premiums: Shaw, Laird, Houli, GAZ, Danger, Pendles, Priddis, Gawn, Nic Nat, Barlow, Hall + Greene

Option 1)
Dea –> Simpson
(Play AMT and DBJ for Weiters and Laird)
Then Weitering –> Rance next week

Option 2)
Dea –> Simpson
Davis/Menadue –> Rockliff

Option 3)
Dea –> Simpson
Weitering –> Tucker
(Painting the fence)

Option 5)
Dea –> Simpson
Menadue –> J. Smith

Option 6)
Dea –> Simpson
McCarthy/Papley/Kennedy –> Dusty Martin

My season is at crossroads Community, and I need your advice.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

    tuxCS · 04/05/2016 at 17:37

It honestly depends on whether you want to keep a healthy balance in the warchest or if you want to get closer to full premo. if its the second option then number 6 for me.

      Pinidu · 04/05/2016 at 17:51

I would like to go premo. The reason why I wouldn't mind spending the war chest now is becuase I can downgrade to Petracca, Keays etc next week and build it up again.

    LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 17:47

I like 6 and probably Papley of those three

      Pinidu · 04/05/2016 at 17:52

Thanks Lekdog. So you fancy Dusty over Rocky?

        LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 18:06

Rocky has killed me in the last two years, I'm thinking this is Dustys turning point and he has DPP. Check your bye structure before deciding though

        Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 21:08

Agree rocky is not trustworthy, needs to string together more than a few games to be convinced.

      50_Shades · 04/05/2016 at 18:18

Papley' playing essendon this week… And only has a BE of 2, r u sure Lekdog

        LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 20:04

Not gonna lie, thought his B/E was 52. Hold him haha

          Pinidu · 04/05/2016 at 20:21

Who needs to go first out of McCarthy and BenKen? (By 'go' I mean trade out)

            Jimmy · 04/05/2016 at 20:52

BenKen. I reckon McCarthys still good for at least 50k

    mick · 05/05/2016 at 18:16

    27 trades left lol bullshite

      Pinidu · 05/05/2016 at 18:44

You reckon I'm joking do ya? I've made three trades this season:
      Rockliff –> Ben Kennedy
      Brown –> DBJ
      Fyfe –> Priddis

Benny · 04/05/2016 at 17:36

Going menadue to smith this week.
Choice of kennedy to cox or
Weitering to tucker?

    LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 17:47

Cox a better prospect than Tucker but Kennedy should make a little more cash…

BiggySc · 04/05/2016 at 17:37

Hi community, I'm a bit unsure about who to trade in and for whom.

Byrne-Jones D, Laird R, Adams M,
Gibson J, Weitering J, Dea M (Byrne C, Ruggles T)

Dangerfield P, Parker L, Coniglio S, Gray R, Liberatore T,
Priddis M, Mills C, Young A (Davis R, Hewett G, Dunkley J)

Gawn M, Naitanui N (Grimley S)

Hall A, Wells D, Kerridge S, Greene T,
Kennedy B, McDonald-Tigungwut (Menadue C, Brown M)

$826400 Left over

Now because I have plenty of money in the war chest, I'm wondering if I still need to bring in bubble boys like cox and smith now or simply upgrade to two premos this week and downgrade to petracca next week instead.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    The Mountian · 04/05/2016 at 20:17

upgrade mate. your backline looks very weak to me mate and laird out doesnt help. Id go dea and weitering to shaw and simpson/boyd.

    bAps · 04/05/2016 at 20:33

That is a ridiculous amount of money to have sitting in the bank. It's probably costing you over 120 points per game. your defence is paper thin, double upgrade.

    Dean · 04/05/2016 at 21:02

Laird will be out for 2 or 3 weeks but still keep him.

Your priority first trade is Weitering straight to Shaw, you wont get him cheaper and this leaves you with $602,000

2nd trade do either Menadue or Kennedy via DPP bring in Josh Smith in the midfield which will leave you with either $720,900 if you trade Menadue or if you trade out Kennedy you will have $795,500

Its pointless for you to bring Cox in because you have Grimley in your ruck as a playing emergency so no point wasting that trade.

Then next week (round 8) Dea to Simpson or who ever you prefer and only if Petracca scores 65+ consider bringing him in otherwise I think its just a waste of a trade bringing in Petracca. Say Petracca scores a shitty 45 this week don't bother wasting a trade on him in round 8. if he does score shit upgrade either Kennedy or Menadue to Dusty Martin as Martin has a Breakeven of 90.

Your priority is Weitering to Shaw this week mate.

      Dean · 04/05/2016 at 21:12

Chances are Weitering will be out for 2 weeks so in that case don't trade him to Shaw, trade Dea this week to Shaw and then Weitering to Simpson or whoever you like in round 8

        50_Shades · 05/05/2016 at 08:27

        I like it Dean.

        Josh · 05/05/2016 at 08:51

Money is not your issue, points is. With laird our tour only defence premo Is Gibson who could go big or give you peanuts.

Horrible idea to trade dea instead of weitering. Should be looking to upgrade both soonish, but as you ate already one short keep the player that is playing. Weits is not even useful to you as a loophole and you can use laird for that purpose anyway. Take the hit on dea's price as it won't be significant and you don't need it anyway, his points may be more useful to you.

Double upgrade is an option but I think it is worth getting in smith as dean gas said, he can be played on field straight away and will make money quick, keeping that stock for upgrades which you will be able to do plenty of over the next few rounds, specially with some good options going cheap.

        The Rebounding Def · 05/05/2016 at 12:49

        Smart thinking.

judd0 · 04/05/2016 at 17:43

Community, I'm currently holding Laird and Gray and really want to get Smith and Cox however I could paint the fence this week rather than double downgrade.
I have so much money sitting on the bench I am worried by going a double downgrade I am having to many rookies on the field and costing me points.
Currently ranked in the top 2% I do want to stay up here.
If I do the double downgrade this week I will be doing a double upgrade next week as I'll have 570k in the bank.
I think I can afford to have one slow week for the greater cash generation, thoughts?

    LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 18:07

Back yourself mate, a lot of people will have rookies onfield (I'll probably have 3 in defence)
Cash generation is key leading into the byes

    Hoot · 04/05/2016 at 22:00

I'm ranked 101 overall and am keeping both Gray and Laird on the bench. Ill lose positions this week I know, BUT, ill save trades (long term). IMO those who trade out shirt term injured players will not likely be in contention week 18 onwards.

Double rookie purchase this week with Smith and Petracca to raise funds for the following weeks double Premo buy ins.

Besides… SYD play ESS so Mills and Hew will score decent. As will Smith against the Blues.

VC Danger C Hanners (based on previous scores versus respective opponents).

      Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 22:48

Seeing as Petracca isn't on the bubble this week why not just get Smith and a premo this week, will keep your points up and hopefully hold your rank.

It just doesn't seem logical to do a double downgrade this week unless getting two guys ont he bubble.

        50_Shades · 05/05/2016 at 08:12

        I like southerns suggestion.

Ethan · 04/05/2016 at 17:43

Do a double downgrade to get cox and smith or the classic 1 up 1 down (and out of smith and cox who's gunna be the better rookie?)

    LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 18:08

I like the painting of the fence, Smith will make the most cash

      50_Shades · 04/05/2016 at 18:15

If you can paint the fence with two hands, get em both!

Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 17:46

No mention of Dougal Howard on the bubble, surprised especially considering Lobbe out for 12 weeks.

    Kev · 04/05/2016 at 18:07

Read Lek's notes at the start of the article

    LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 18:08

Hey mate, mentioned him in the intro paragraph. Biggest issue is he doesn't score and is FWD only

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 19:57

    Ok thanks lek!

I like the reasoning, plain and simple 'not very good at football'

    Made me lol.

FWD- Hall, Wells, Kerridge, De Goey, Benken, Tipungwuiti (Menadue, Petracca)

been away for a few days how bad are weits and lairds injuries

    50_Shades · 04/05/2016 at 18:04

Maybe Weitering and davis so you can inject some cash with the two Magpie rookies.

    LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 18:09

Weitering and Laird will be out for 2-3 hold Laird

    The Mountain · 04/05/2016 at 20:20

Weits to shaw and maybe dea to cox via tippa

@RoyWetard · 04/05/2016 at 18:05

I'm considering holding Weitering for a week or two and getting rid of Dea instead since he isn't going to be losing money and I have Brown on my bench.

    LEKD0G · 04/05/2016 at 18:10

    Not a bad plan

    CoachDamo · 04/05/2016 at 21:03

I'm doing the same – Dea and Sheridan have to go, Weitering can hold on for a week or 2!

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 21:09

I'd get rid of both personally, paint the fence if you have no warchest.

Matt · 04/05/2016 at 18:16

Hey Lek am I better off bringing in Dusty or Boyd/Simpson this week? I have laird on the pine and I already have doc and shaw

    LEKD0G · 05/05/2016 at 13:40

Tough, Simpson and Martin are ahead of Boyd.

Martin at bottom price for him

Iamme · 04/05/2016 at 18:21

Desperate times call for desperate measures…. I'm seriously considering bringing in Daisy, If he can score around 85 most weeks and still have the occasional 120 plus he will average 90+…..Not too shabby if you play him forward imo.

    LEKD0G · 05/05/2016 at 13:43

Would rather see you look at a Matthew Wright or a full premo player, don't like Daisy

@stewy_chewy · 04/05/2016 at 18:22

-Hunter, Wells and Thompson all get tons
-Goldstein season low score

J, Selwood
C, Ward
T, Greene
R, Sloane
S, Coniglio
Most of these are midfielders because this is where the points are found

While there is lots of players inform at the moment, don’t be to quick to jump on the score bandwagon, or as Jock and Peter would say “Don’t follow the points”. Many people will be quick to jump on some of the rookies that scored and some of the other players who have finally shot into form. Instead sit back and observe their scores. We don’t want to be wasting any trades this week or any other week for that matter. Stick to your premo’s and try and sideways trade less if you can.

This post took a while to make so I would appreciate it if you would show your support

Fyfe to Smith and Weiters to Simpson $600k left
Fyfe to Hanners and Davis to Smith $300k left

Ranked in top 2000

I'd like to dispose of Sheridan next week – probably move AMT to the back line and get Petracca.

    Tommo09 · 04/05/2016 at 18:28

Maybe it's just me but I like number 2 as smith has a lower BE

    Iamme · 04/05/2016 at 18:50

I like the second option there Westy. J.Smith has good job security at the moment, however imo If Mason has a bad one I think we will see Travis Cloke back taking his spot.

    Westy · 04/05/2016 at 19:54

Thanks folks, I got impatient and got rid of Sheridan (who has been a giant potato) and Weitering to go to Shaw and Smith.

    Petracca for Dea next week.

@stewy_chewy · 04/05/2016 at 18:29

Josh Smith
Position: Midfield
Price: $102,400
Breakeven: -108
This rookie was solid on his debut. Finishing with 72 points, backing it up against the Eagles Sunday Night is what has got us talking about him. Smith Polled 96 Supercoach points over at Domain Stadium and is now everyone’s downgrade target. With great Job Security and expected price rise of $85,000 now is the time to jump on. You can pick him up for $102,400

Mason Cox
Position: Forward/Ruck
Price: $117,300
Breakeven: -73
After starring in the pies ANZAC day win , the American was given another week in the senior team for a return of 67 points from 10 touches and two goals. His forward-ruck status gives a great edge to your side if you already have Essendon’s Sam Grimley, as you will have the ability to rotate them in either line.

    Phil · 04/05/2016 at 18:36

So if you had to choose between 1 of the 2 who would you take?

    fatty vautin · 04/05/2016 at 20:39

word for word off scp well done

    tuxCS · 04/05/2016 at 20:46

Look, your contribution is good, but that mason cox part is basically only slightly altered from the SuperCoachPaige website. Nobody likes plagiarism.

Mate, your info is easily accessible.

We work on opinions to discuss or debate on our teams that have similar players and play out possible scenarios to achieve the best result.

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 21:46

I really don't like the Cox selection.

Mister_Spock · 04/05/2016 at 18:33

Laird, Rance and Weitering in my back line. Happy days.

    50_Shades · 05/05/2016 at 08:35

Yep, it's a great situation isn't it. Still not quite sure how to manage it. Let's see what fun team selections bring tonight.

    GoHawks · 05/05/2016 at 16:04

    Right there with you.

Bye-bye Weitering this week, and cross fingers that the remaining guys play, with Rance & Laird on the pine.

james · 04/05/2016 at 18:43

is Pittard a good POD he seems like the only port that wants to be there

    Phil · 04/05/2016 at 18:44

    Is he a keeper?

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 19:59

Or he's had an increased workload due to the team being terrible recently?

Tommo09 · 04/05/2016 at 18:53

Hey community
Hanners or Smith for Fyfe

Smith for cash, Hanners for points

    Kev · 04/05/2016 at 19:23

    Super premo for super premo

      tuxCS · 05/05/2016 at 03:29

      as Kev said.

        50_Shades · 05/05/2016 at 08:01

It would be ballsy to go for the cash and pick up Hanners later.

Shake n bake · 04/05/2016 at 18:56

I'm painting the fence this week Dea to Smith weitering to either Boyd Simpson or Docherty please help who might avg more? I'm thinkin Docherty.

    Mister_Spock · 04/05/2016 at 18:58

    Simpson for consistency

    Jimmy · 04/05/2016 at 20:56

I think Boyd will average more but will more likely miss more games.

    LEKD0G · 05/05/2016 at 13:48

Gord29 · 04/05/2016 at 18:58

Great work lekdog. One question for the community Boyd Houli Simpson or another option current backline is Shaw Docherty Bartel Adams and DBJ

    Jess_coach · 04/05/2016 at 19:25

Simpson or Boyd. Probobly only thing splitting them is whoever suits your byes better.

Houli if you're happy with an inconsistent rollercoast ride of 60 one week and 130 another. The fact that richmond stink abit this year makes me question Houli. IMO he is the type of player that benefits when the whole team is going well.

      Gord29 · 04/05/2016 at 19:27

Thanks for the feedback, I'm currently running with Boyd just because of the fact I have Docherty.

    LEKD0G · 05/05/2016 at 13:49

I'm looking at bringing Rich in this week

Eric_the_Red · 04/05/2016 at 19:01

So Laird and Gray have stung me. I traded Dea to Smith and have decided to hold Laird. Thoughts on next trade? My options are:
Weitering to Boyd
Gray to Hanners
Gray to Martin or Greene via DPP.

Over to you community. Jock? Lek? Fire away.

    Joe · 04/05/2016 at 19:11

I'm in the same boat, don't know whether to hold grey or trade ??????

      Phil · 04/05/2016 at 19:17

I think you should hold gray…..he will most likely bounce back?

    Power · 05/05/2016 at 12:27

Gray will probably be another 3 weeks looking at the draw and Hinkley is unlikely to risk. I traded him for Parker last week but will get him back

    LEKD0G · 05/05/2016 at 13:50

I'd hold Gray and trades Weiters up

The Jones DD · 04/05/2016 at 19:15

Is Libba playing this week

    Don't Bush Babbie' · 04/05/2016 at 20:07

don't think so mate,as per AFL Injury Website

      Dean · 04/05/2016 at 22:43

If libba is out then I will be getting rid of him for Smith and Weitering to Shaw.

    Dillon Panthers · 05/05/2016 at 19:54

    Libba named in the pivot

Jess_coach · 04/05/2016 at 19:19

To regain a Def/Fwd DPP link, I've gone:

Kennedy (fwd) to Tucker (def)
Dea to Boyd

These trades aren't ideal, but give me more freedom for future trades. Sound acceptable?

    Gord29 · 04/05/2016 at 19:29

Not sold on tucker but it definitely gives you flexibility for later on which is a huge bonus

      Jess_coach · 04/05/2016 at 19:37

Yeah he could be the last decent defender for a while

        Phil · 04/05/2016 at 21:14

Why do so many wanna boot BenKen? His BE is low very obtainable and they are playing the Suns this weekend. He still get cash watch, I'm keeping him for 1 more week just like I did papley and everyone traded him out a few fortnights ago. I still have Papley too! So quick to rush and trade

          50_Shades · 05/05/2016 at 08:23

I think benken has had enough opportunities from an SC perspective. If other bigger issues to deal with is hold, but if I was bringing in some rookies on the bubble, I'd axe him.

            Phil · 05/05/2016 at 10:15

I'm looking to axe him next week for Petracca

HOLLA · 04/05/2016 at 19:31

I have (as many do) Weitering laird out for up to 3. But i also have t.adams out and not sure how long for. Weitering im culling, im holding laird, what to do with t.adams.
Thoughts please.

    Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 19:39

Adams needs to pass a fitness test to play

      HOLLA · 04/05/2016 at 19:43

Ive read that hes not gonna play this week and his knee isnt progressing as well as hoped.

        Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 19:59 says "test"

          HOLLA · 04/05/2016 at 20:17

          Hardly credible.

            Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 20:20

surely, you would expect the main website for the AFL would have some sort of an insight

              HOLLA · 04/05/2016 at 20:32

I think i read it on cfc website

                HOLLA · 04/05/2016 at 20:33

Anyhow should i upgrade or hold til the byes then upgrade if needed?

                  Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 20:40

If they are saying that it is short term/test, then it won't be anymore than a week or so, in which i would hold.

                    HOLLA · 04/05/2016 at 20:45

So is it ok to have 2 players (1m salary) sitting on the bench for multiple weeks?

                    Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 20:56

laird is a must keep, not many reliable defenders this year. If you have enough, upgrade Adams to an ultra premo. Don't just go to a premo as it would be too much of a sideways trade.

                    Jimmyf · 04/05/2016 at 20:59

Hope so as I have 3 (Gray, Laird, Rance)

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 05/05/2016 at 14:41

Just read he won't play didn't pass the fitness test

Clarky · 04/05/2016 at 19:34

If we have traded out Barlow during the early rounds, does that mean we shouldn't bring him in again this season? Would it be considered wasting a trade?

    Phat Man · 04/05/2016 at 20:26

Yes its a waste of a trade, im in the same boat. sadly i trade him out early but I wont be looking to bring him back in anytime soon as it would sting to much

    FootyFanatic · 04/05/2016 at 20:57

Do you really want to be burned by the same guy twice? I learnt my lesson last year with Rockliff and won't be making that mistake again.

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 21:00

Agree with these guys, although I traded Rocky out earlier in the year I am considering bringing him in later, ie for finals if he's 100%.

      clarky · 04/05/2016 at 21:33

yeah, if i was to bring him in, it was going to be the latter part of the season

    Jimmy · 04/05/2016 at 21:01

I disagree, you have to let go of the past in this game and pick the best available player

      Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 21:13

Yes and no, Rocky was injured only two weeks ago…………..

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 21:40

Of course not. Don't worry about what has gone. Look ahead and make decisions now that will give you a better team in the future.

Don't be surprised if I trade Lobbe back in when he is fit again 😉

      50_Shades · 05/05/2016 at 08:21

I reckon it's a bit of pride that makes it hard to bring in one of these guys again. You chose him at the beginning, you used a trade on him, you feel like you're admitting a failure. who cares… If he's good now, but wasn't then, do you really want to miss out on the points they could generate from here on out.

Main issue is reliability for me. Barlow has had a change of role, so id be confident whereas with rocky I'd need to be sure he's going to be around…

    Power · 05/05/2016 at 12:25

Go for it if you want him. I've traded out Gray but will definitely get him back, it might cost me 3 trades but 3 weeks out is my limit

Kevdog · 04/05/2016 at 20:04

Dea to Matt Boyd

Sheridan you sub-human piece of human garbage!

    Jimmy · 04/05/2016 at 21:03

Trade him for someone thats capable of tackling and can get a contested possession.

John · 04/05/2016 at 20:13

Thinking about trading weitering for Tom Lee. Holding Laird and maybe upgrading zaharakis to a premo because it looks like he isn't gonna rise in cash anymore. I could also trade out Matt Crouch or Marcus Adams and pick up someone like dusty or Barlow.

    tom · 04/05/2016 at 20:17

tom lee has to get picked first. Wait for teams, was dropped last week.

    Don't Bush Babbie' · 04/05/2016 at 20:25

John, for whats its worth without seeing your team , I have Weitering & Laird and I'm holding them.
I don't has Zaha, but if did I wouldn't be trading him out, I think you get my drift, happy to tell you my trades atm

      Phil · 04/05/2016 at 21:04

I have Zaha I'm I'm not even close to thinking of trading him out. Has a couple of sub par score but its Ess has played good bloody teams the last 2 weeks and scored well….he can and will hold his own. I wouldnt trade Zaha til me last bloody trade he will bounce back best bomber. I dont even like Ess!

        Phil · 04/05/2016 at 21:05

bigger fish to fry than worry about Zaha

          Phil · 04/05/2016 at 21:08

Plus Zaha is not a cash generator he a bloody low end premo so not sure what ur thinking if you wanna waste a trade do it

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 21:04

Keep Zaharakis and Adams, Crouch is a trade I'd consider.

Tom Lee is risky and will most likely be in and out all year, might get recalled this week due to North having three talls in the forward line, could miss many weeks after who knows.

Tucker is probably a safer bet from a job security perspective.

Hoot · 04/05/2016 at 20:39

What happened to MONEYBALL?

Wasn't it the hot marketing topic of these forums in 2015?

Is Narelle involved?

    Phil · 04/05/2016 at 21:10

Obviously not anymore a thing of the past mate!

Brook · 04/05/2016 at 20:52

Many may know this, but I didn't. You can trade Dea to Smith via MBrown AND Menadue (that's right, as Jock might say, it's three way bloody DPP trading wizardry!)
Trade Dea, swing Brown from fwd to defence, swing Menadue from mid to fwd, then pick Snith to fill the vacant spot in your midfield! Just keep hitting the big S in the trade windows until you can trade in the right position. I would say there is no limit other than your existing swing sets. Definitely opens up some more trade options and reinforces the importance of DPP players.

    Hoot · 04/05/2016 at 21:17

Yeah I believe your correct as this was not allowed in previous years. If I recall, I attempted the concept in 2013 and was a bit frustrated that it wasn't an option. I can see this being very handy come the bye rounds.

Bomber56 · 04/05/2016 at 21:09

Is it time to look at moving Libba on if he does not play this week?

    Don't Bush Babbie' · 04/05/2016 at 21:12

I'm holding, might need a weeks rest anyway.

Just wish the coach would play him on the ball a lot more

      Phil · 04/05/2016 at 22:13

      Yeah trade him

Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 21:10

If you're considering Daisy you are in a dark place!

    Iamme · 04/05/2016 at 22:58

Oh I am in a dark place, currently 42878 after finishing 659 last season….I really need to take some risks, to try and get back up there. down to 23 trades if I do Daisey for Fyfe and Dea for J.Smith.

      50_Shades · 05/05/2016 at 08:08

He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not…. Good luck

John · 04/05/2016 at 21:17

Def: Shaw, Laird, Adams, Weitering, Rich, DBJ, Bench: Mitch Brown, Ruggles

Mid: Parker,Danger, Ablett, Sam Mitchell, Zaha, Pendles, Libba, Matt Crouch, Bench: Hewett, Davis,Snadden

Ruck: Gawn, Naitanui bench: Grimley

Fwd: Hall, Wells, Wright, Kerridge, De Goey, McDonald- Tipungwuti bench: Papley, Menadue

Thinking of trading weitering for tucker, Holding laird, and maybe taking out crouch.

Hayley · 04/05/2016 at 21:17

Struggle street now in defence. Pre-trading I have Laird, Rance and Weitering in my back 8 and no half decent priced rookie on the bench in the guts to replace with Smith. I have 2* options, as I'm not keen on trading Rance or Laird:

*1 option means I have 3 other options lol

Option 1:
Out -> Weitering, Menadue
In -> Smith, Rich/Yeo/B Smith

Option 2:
Out -> Weitering, Mills
In -> Smith, Barlow

Option 2 is winning for now, super risky getting rid of Mills now, as he's a pretty consistent performer and in my starting 22 as well, but I don't think he's going to get much more valuable that now. Maybe 30-50k at most, at a slow trickle too. Barlow is going off his head with Fyfe out of the team….he's their number 1 in and under bloke now, going to get 30+ every week…don't think I'll be able to afford him later, whereas I think Smith/Yeo/Rich will still be affordable in the near future.

Advice would be great! Thanks!

    CoachDamo · 04/05/2016 at 21:25

I'd try to keep Mills if possible. I don't mind the look of Option 1 – bring in Smith and a premium defender (if you have the funds – maybe Shaw, Docherty, Simpson…).

I'm still looking at options too. I'll keep Laird, but I need to deal with Dea and Sheridan so I might keep Weitering.

      Hayley · 04/05/2016 at 21:38

Don't have the funds for a top end premo. Only have 462,400k

        Hayley · 04/05/2016 at 21:38

If I'm trading out Menadue that is. He is the most valuable mid bench I have.

      Hayley · 04/05/2016 at 21:40

Actually, now I look again, I could swing Menadue forward for M McGovern and have 503,600, which would give me enough for Barlow! haha

    Phil · 04/05/2016 at 21:49

Dont dump mills….he has plenty of cash to make! Look for someone else to dump…..but not mills will be a big mistake

      MaccasMarvels · 04/05/2016 at 22:38

Yes, to Phil you listen (sort of in the words of the great Yoda).

Mills needs to be held for now.

        50_Shades · 05/05/2016 at 08:14

I'd like the Double Smith combo in option 1 with fries and coke please.

          Hayley · 05/05/2016 at 15:35

I'll get him next week lol

Jim · 04/05/2016 at 21:25

K. Simpson, J. Bartel, M. Adams, A. McDonald-Tipungwuti, M. Brown, D. Byrne-Jones. (LAIRD, T. Ruggles)
P. Dangerfield, D. Hannebery, C. Ward, G. Ablett, J. Selwood, S. Pendlebury, D. Parish, C. Mills. (LIBBA, Davis, Dunkley)
T. Goldstein, S. Martin (Loersch)
A. Hall, D. Wells, M. Barlow, T. Papley, L. McCarthy, B. Kennedy (Menadue, KERRIDGE)

The one's in capitals are injured or rumoured to be. Only injury I'm concerned about is laird. Should laird be held or moved on? Also, where are the trading points? Menadue is absolute crap so looking at a possible Cox. Only trouble is that I'm on 23 trades and my bye rounds will be trade heavy so looking to hold onto a few trades. $43,000 in the bank what are my options? The bench coverage is being stretched thin. Cheers.

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 21:30

Do you want Shaw? If so get him this week.

      Jim · 04/05/2016 at 21:35

I just don't know how to get him in. It's always been my plan to eventually get him in before he tops 600k.

        Derek · 04/05/2016 at 21:52

Libba to smith. Tippa to Shaw

          Jim · 04/05/2016 at 21:54

Fair point, just concerned whether 21 trades is too low for this time of year.

    Paul · 04/05/2016 at 21:51

If Libba plays this week, trade out Parish (peaked already value wise, not worth keeping him if he's just going to sit on the bench) for Josh Smith, then you can trade out either AMT or Adams for Heath Shaw. If Libba doesn't play, then you can trade him out for Smith and trade Mitch Brown for Heath Shaw.

      Jim · 04/05/2016 at 21:54

      I was thinking this orginally

Ben · 04/05/2016 at 21:37

Ive already got Sam Grimley in R3
Should i trade him for Mason Cox?

    Phil · 04/05/2016 at 21:43

Wow that tough….. but I say yes? Just hope its not a waste of a trade?

      Phil · 04/05/2016 at 21:44

Granted I dont know the rest of ur team…..grimley is better option than cox based on price and value?

        Ben · 04/05/2016 at 21:53

        My Team:
DEF: Shaw, Laird, Kolodashjni, Fantasia, M Adams, Darcy Byrne (Weitering, Ruggles)
MID: Dange, Hanners, Mithcell, Pendles, Wines, Libba, Parish, Mills (Clayton O, R Davis, Jade G)
FOR: Hall, Zorko, Wells, Anthony, Kerridge, Kennedy (M Brown, Connor Menadue)

          LEKD0G · 05/05/2016 at 13:55

Could trade Oliver, swing Menadue into the mids and bring in Cox for Ruck/Forward swing

        Phil · 05/05/2016 at 08:24

Correction Cox is a better option not grimley

    Josh · 05/05/2016 at 08:57

If you want to get him don't sideways trade grimly, downgrade menadue instead, if you want to get rid of grimly later then cox is sitting on your forward bench ready to be subbed into you ruck. he is fine staying in your fwd line earning cash as he looks pretty reliable for the scores he has been getting with scope for improvement.

    JamiesNinjas13 · 05/05/2016 at 13:31

Waste of a trade by a mile, this is a sideways trade and Cox is not a must have

Wayno76 · 04/05/2016 at 21:45

I have traded Weitering for Barlow and Dea for Smith my problem now is I have Libba on the ground with no mid cover as I have R Gray on mid bench. Thinking maybe I should keep Weitering for one more week and trade either Gray or Libba so I don't have a doughnut on the ground

    Laurie · 04/05/2016 at 22:21

Just wondering how you can trade Weitering to Barlow when they are different positions?

      Wayno76 · 05/05/2016 at 08:08

If Libba plays this week, trade out Parish (peaked already value wise, not worth keeping him if he's just going to sit on the bench) for Josh Smith, then you can trade out either AMT or Adams for Heath Shaw. If Libba doesn't play, then you can trade him out for Smith and trade Mitch Brown for Heath Shaw.

    Paul · 04/05/2016 at 21:52

    Pls delete, admin! 😀

      Phil · 04/05/2016 at 22:30

Why would you trade libba based on 1 week? NO!

      Noigerbour · 04/05/2016 at 22:40

      Bang bang

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 22:42

Trade Mitch brown out with a BE of 0? He's just starting to make money……………

      Paul · 05/05/2016 at 05:54

I think you're failing to see the big picture. It's heath shaw

        50_Shades · 05/05/2016 at 07:59

Get the big picture, but I'd be keen to find another way than a rookie with a zero BE who man just be finding his straps.

        Southern S · 05/05/2016 at 11:27

Well I have heath Shaw already so don't have to make poor moves to get him.

          Paul · 05/05/2016 at 15:34

It was a misplaced post, was supposed to be a reply to someone else who was trying to get Shaw in.

Boltons blues · 04/05/2016 at 22:23

I've had cox since the start of the year to use with grimley so this doesn't apply to me really.
I don't understand why people are taking smith, yes he gives you a downgrade option, yes you can make a quick dollar on him, but, next week providing they keep their spots, you have Keyes and petracca on the bubble.
I think petracca has better JS then all 3 of them and Keyes is slightly ahead of smith.

And if you're trading in cox, I can't see him playing the remaining games, wouldn't surprise me if he got dropped this week, they want Cloke back and he is the obvious selection to replace him with

I just personally think people are jumping the gun on these 2

    Phil · 04/05/2016 at 22:33

    lol ok

      Noigerbour · 04/05/2016 at 22:42

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 22:40

Keays is likely to be dropped for beams. Plus you have Mathieson that might come in at some point.

People have rookies like Dea, Weitering, Kennedy, Menadue, AMT, Parish and Davis to trade out.

Not to mention the piles of failed mid pricers and injured players.

I'm just not sure who you expect them to trade down to?

      Noigerbour · 04/05/2016 at 22:42

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 22:47

Kesys will need to play well to keep his place. He is playing forward and out of his usual position.

Petracca might be an OK pick for next week

      Derek · 04/05/2016 at 22:49

I would have gone with Petracca this week, but Shaw managed to beat his BE now I'm $1400 short if I get Petracca. Smith is cheaper.

        Paul · 05/05/2016 at 16:41

Smith deserves to be picked on his output alone. The fact he's only 102k is just a massive bonus.

    Brook · 04/05/2016 at 22:56

you need a lot of rookies to get to full premo … esp if some if your starters are duds, eg. menadue, davis (we all have them). These two this week look worth it to me

james · 04/05/2016 at 23:04

Treloar if you haven't got Pendlebury otherwise Sloane

    Southern S · 05/05/2016 at 11:36

Why not lock in an ultra premo?

MACCa · 04/05/2016 at 23:24

Dea and weitering to smith and shaw or simpson

    tuxCS · 05/05/2016 at 03:31

Shaw, you might want to look at simpson as your next upgrade target though.

    Danners · 05/05/2016 at 09:37

At the moment, Shaw is a must

cattery · 04/05/2016 at 23:26

thoughts on dempsey in for weitering, looking to cost cut on defenders and spend big on mids and forwards with 450k in the bank. Also, Im down to 21 trades what should i do?

    Hazey · 05/05/2016 at 01:26

Tempting, but I may don't trust Dempsey

    JamiesNinjas13 · 05/05/2016 at 13:35

Don't get Dempsey, you're just chasing the points and he won't be a top 10 defender seasons end. Pick Brodie Smith instead since he has a better chance of avg 90.

Billiox · 05/05/2016 at 00:12

I buck the trend, within 200pt of number 1 pos. traded Weit to Shaw last week, lucky. Have the Mormon & Collins on D bench, Laird goes. I know prob top 8 def however must chase the dream. Laird, Bken out. Smith, Rocky in.

    Coxy · 05/05/2016 at 05:56

I'm coming around the 150 mark. Definately struggling with the laird decision. Thinking I might keep him in and hopefully it rewards me in the long run, but not sure. That's the beauty of SuperCoach!!!

      Hayley · 05/05/2016 at 16:44

Yeah, I'm around the 150 too, have both Laird and Rance. Not trading him out might cost you 40-50 points, a trade is worth more than that….so good call holding I reckon. Especially when all the half decent defenders have been pumping out 120's followed by a 65.

Hazey · 05/05/2016 at 00:15

Will Smith out have any effect on young Tobias st GWS?

    Danners · 05/05/2016 at 09:37

Not really been mainly playing around the half forward area anyway

Hazey · 05/05/2016 at 00:48

Option 1 – Dea & McCarthy out for Shaw & Smith (Coll) with $1k
Option 2 – Dea and Menadue out for Houli & Smith with about $30th

I'm thinking the cash for Shaw could be worth it, but Houli could also be bottomed out (TIGERS Can Only improve right. )

    50_Shades · 05/05/2016 at 08:04

I personally am still holding McCarthy, but I think you're option 1 is the better of the two.

      Southern S · 05/05/2016 at 11:24

Agreed, not convinced by Houli, and gotta have Shaw.

Puopolo_Culture · 05/05/2016 at 01:14

Late to the party, but hopefully I can get some advice. $95,000 in the bank, and 25 trades left.

Option 1 – Trade out Dea and Macca-T, get in Selwood and J. Smith.
Upside: Selwood is looking great, definitely a top 10 midfielder for the season.
Downside: Potential loss of money making ability through Macca-T. Leaves me with no bench cover.

Option 2 -Trade out Dea and Weitering, get in 1 of Simpson, Docherty, Boyd, and J. Smith
Upside: Both rookies will lose a lot of cash the next round they play.
Downside: Not as great points generating potential in the short term, but better balance right now, mainly as it means I have bench cover.

Team – adjustments already made to account for injuries
Def: Shaw, Houli, M. Adams, Dea, Brown, Byrne -Jones (Laird, Weitering)

Mid: Parker, Ablett, S. Mitchell, Dangerfield, Libba, B. Kennedy, Kerridge, Mills ( Menadue, Oliver, Davis)

Ruc: Goldy, Gawn (Grimley)

Fwd: Hall, Wells, Montagna, Zorko, Macca-T, Papely (M. Brown, M Cox)

    LEKD0G · 05/05/2016 at 13:59

I think you're better off strenghtening your defense for now

      Puopolo_Culture · 05/05/2016 at 15:33

CaPtKaOs · 05/05/2016 at 03:35

Cant decide if this is a good or bad move…… I already have cox. If I bring in grimley as a fwd, I can trade cox out later for cash, then slide grimley into r3. If grimley gets dropped at some stage he will be a useful loophole. Essendon have plenty of late games in the second half of the season. Appreciate any thoughts.

    LEKD0G · 05/05/2016 at 13:59

    I don't hate it

Leeds17 · 05/05/2016 at 06:10

Who will score more from now til the end of the season, Boyd or McVeigh? Always been the plan to get McVeigh into my team at some point and suits my bye structure hadn't really considered Boyd as thought he'd drop off a bit this season but last 2 weeks have been impressive.

    Danners · 05/05/2016 at 09:36

Tough call, but I would say McVeigh is a bit more injury prone these days but get Boyd in first then wait a couple weeks on McVeigh

      Southern S · 05/05/2016 at 11:22

Just because McVeigh had a small injury this year doesn't make him more prone to them does it?

Tommo09 · 05/05/2016 at 06:36

Here's my team

Def: Shaw, Adams, Tippa, DBJ, Byrne, Brown (Laird, Weitering)
Mid: Danger, Gaz, Parker, Hannebery, Libba, Crouch, Mills, Kennedy (Gresham, Petracca, Smith)
Ruc: Goldy, NicNat
Fwd: Hall, Martin, Barlow, Franklin, Wells, Kerridge (Papley, Menadue)

I know my defence is thin but I decided to go Fyfe to Hanners and Davis to Smith instead of upgrading Weitering
$300k left and 23 trades.

Anything I can do community

    50_Shades · 05/05/2016 at 07:56

Tommo,I reckon a few will be struggling with defense this week, if not for weiter, Rance and Laird on the pine.
So it's not a bad call for an ultra premier mid and a rookie with some good looking cash upside.

      Tommo09 · 05/05/2016 at 07:58

      Thank you

Rick Grimes · 05/05/2016 at 06:46

Hi all, need help here!

my team as follows;

Def: Shaw, Adams, Tippa, DBJ, Dea, Brown, hartley (Laird, Weitering)
Mid: Danger, Gaz, Parker, Steven, Libba, Jelwood, Mills, Wells (Gresham, Gore, Davis)
Ruc: Goldy, Gawn (cox)
Fwd: Hall, Martin, Barlow, Benken, Kerridge, tippa (Petracca, Menadue)

pretty much not sure what to do with my backline. holding Laird but want to bring in Boyd for Dea/Weitering
only issue is do i trade out Dea due to his breakeven and trade weitering next week as his value wont change. or trade weritering now to avoid having no cover?

what you guys reckon? Cheers!

    maxxy · 05/05/2016 at 07:11

Def: Shaw, Adams, DBJ, Dea, Brown, hartley (Laird, Weitering) ***

      Kev · 05/05/2016 at 08:58

Very thin backline as I'm sure you're aware. Unless you trade it will look like that for the next two weeks minimum and you're gonna plummet down the rankings.

If you've got the cash to turn Weiters into Boyd then do it

        maxxy · 05/05/2016 at 09:21

yeah that what iv done so far, hopefully Dea doesnt score too poorly for his price to drop too much

    Southern S · 05/05/2016 at 11:15

Why don't you trade them both out?

      maxxy · 05/05/2016 at 14:46

trying not to burn too many trades but hey if i have to then i will.
i got 369k before trades. I can trade either out for Boyd, any suggestions on who the second should be?

Luke · 05/05/2016 at 07:19

I imagine a fair amount of coaches will go with the Big swinging Cox this week. Some will even entertain the Brown swinging Cox as it will be too hard to resist temptation

Luke · 05/05/2016 at 07:24

My arousal curve has hit new levels this week with the prospect of a big swinging Cox

johnno2908 · 05/05/2016 at 08:08

Brad Crouch was initially listed as a couple of weeks also. Do we see any danger in Adelaide doing this with Laird as well?
If he is out for more than 3 weeks, surely can't keep him? Only problem is if you have Shaw, there is no other standout defender apart from maybe kade simpson, but he is north of $500k.
Tough decisions to be made this week

    Kev · 05/05/2016 at 08:54

Crouch has a history of injuries. The recovery process may have been managed to ensure he didn't break down again

Banga · 05/05/2016 at 08:57

In what order should i get rid of these rookies?

Tippa, Adams, Davis, menadue, BKennedy

    Grahame Lebroy · 05/05/2016 at 09:47

Davis, Menadue, raffle for the other 3 depending on if you think they have maxed out price wise. I think they are all not far away from doing that

      Kev · 05/05/2016 at 11:00

Davis/Menadue definitely on the chopping block this week. McTip next week. BK has the goods to get 100+ but if he keeps putting up 60's he'll have to go. I'm happy to hold Adams until Doggies bye round

        Tommy · 05/05/2016 at 11:11

The Davis/Menadue selection is killing me! I am trying to figure out who is most likely to go big and restart their scoring again. Iwould go Davis due to him being more mature, but he is already starting 25k behind Menadue. Decision definitely is affected by selections tonight though.

Maula · 05/05/2016 at 09:04

Davis, menace, tippy, Kennedy, Adams but it will also de dependent who who gets dropped tonight.

BoomBoom · 05/05/2016 at 09:05

Hi Guys

I am unsure as to how i should aim to get my bye structure right at the moment. This is what it looks like:
Round 13: 12 players out
Round 14: 11 players out
Round 15: 7 players out

I currently have 24 trades left after my 2 trades this week. What should i be going for? Should start making trades based on the bye rounds now? Need some help community!

    Grahame Lebroy · 05/05/2016 at 09:54

Ideally you would want that in the reverse order with less players out in the first bye round and more in the second and third bye weeks. This allows you to reduce the amount out in the second and third weeks through trading. Eg; Adelaide and Richmond are in the first bye round. So if you don't have Laird, Jacobs, Martin, Deledio keeper types u could upgrade to them after they have their bye, which could mean you skip other players from having a bye. Like upgrading B.Kennedy from Melb (who has a bye in second bye week) to Martin or Deledio after the first bye round. Or Kennedy to Sloane or however you want to do it with other teams and players

    sam · 05/05/2016 at 09:57

13 and 15 should be reversed trade down for 13 and 14 up for 15

Clarky · 05/05/2016 at 09:10

Hi Guys

Got a very big dilemma facing me. Due to weitering's injury/BE, i have traded him out for Heath Shaw, no brainer really. But i am not sure who to bring in out of Cox and Smith.

Option 1: Davis/Menadue out for Smith
Option 2: Tippa out for Cox (Would swing cox between ruck and fwd)
Opinions would be much appreicated!

    Grahame Lebroy · 05/05/2016 at 09:59

Sounds good for his job security, be careful that Westhoff and Dixon could potentially ruck alot also

      Tommy · 05/05/2016 at 11:12

Good JS but only a forward instead of DPP.

    lachie08 · 05/05/2016 at 10:06

I think he has a better JS

    Kev · 05/05/2016 at 10:57

Better js than Cox imo, but is still finding his feet afl level. Attended 53 centre bounces last week according to fantasy freako, but only won 8 hitouts. Doesn't get a lot of it at ground level either.

Forward only in supercoach so I reckon there will be better options

Hallahan · 05/05/2016 at 09:50

thoughts on Weitering down to Tom Lee and deal up to simpson?
What other premium backman should I consider?

    Hallahan · 05/05/2016 at 09:50

    The Mountain · 05/05/2016 at 10:13

No point trading in a player if he's not playing. If he and or tucker are named tonight look at either of them, if lees not named I'd expect tucker to be named so you could bring him in. The des to Simpson is a great trade though

stavros · 05/05/2016 at 10:04

can supercoach be won by starting with 10 less trades at the start..I am thinking this is a lot of luck in sc. being a doggie with murph and j.j both ultra fit and not injury prone is it luck Ifollow doggies and not hawks could be Gibson and birchall…. the doggie pair are not freemans or rockies..

    trev · 05/05/2016 at 10:13

good question Stavros probably not with 2o trades imo..The skill comes now with guys like you for instance trading ablett or goldy plus Menadue for daisy and martin and both these tonning up 10 times….Its quality trading more so than conserving trades if it comes along like Zorko 450000 last year do it be it round 4 9 or 14 ..martin rocky hunter are good trades now no need for selwoods parkers etc and they are pods.Gray is coming up 120 every week for 500

    Grahame Lebroy · 05/05/2016 at 10:27

Definitely luck in SC especially when it hits your premo keepers

      Derek · 05/05/2016 at 10:38

not just the premo keepers, but the POD premo keepers. I started with Wingard (instead of Hall) this year and it has been a nightmare. a bit of luck could have changed all that

        stavros · 05/05/2016 at 11:28

        do you still have him

        TRIGGER HAPPY · 05/05/2016 at 13:30

100%. My pod premos have killed me this year every week one of them misses except Rd 1 where I had a good score.

Wingard, priddus, gray. One of them missing over the last 6 weeks with injuries to fyfe, crouch, he etc is basically the difference between top 1000 and 30,000.

Took a gamble on the two port boys not looking like a good gamble.

Luck is massive in the game.

big question is LIBBA out? josh smith in.

Let me know what you think. I'm in a dilemma…

Team: DEF-Shaw, Simpson, Gibson, Laird, Bartel, Hartley (McDonald-tipu, m.Brown)
MID- danger, ablett, parker, p.hanley, sloan, *libba*, Mills, Kerridge (R.davis, D.gore, R.clark)

Hey guys,
Not sure who to trade out this week.
Dea, tippa, menadue or Davis.
Looking at the double downgrade for smith or cox.
I have suckling on the bench but looking to Hang onto. I have 40k left over. Any suggestions boys??

    JamiesNinjas13 · 05/05/2016 at 13:15

Dea, Menadue, Tippa, Davis in that order.
Look to get Smith in, he will at worst be a short term gain with the 94 going through his next 3 weeks which means 100k rise.
Davis is a spud but he is not worth culling on just 185k.

Menadue is a hack, he has showed no signs of reaching the ton so it is ok if you trade him.
I would get in a premo to help with this weeks injuries and because I think Cox is not a must have.

Cashcows · 05/05/2016 at 12:53

Not sure whether to go Cox or J.Smith.

I already have Grimley and Wyatt as FWD/Ruck swing.
I think Cox can stay in the team longer but Smith at a cheaper price and insanely low BE.

    LEKD0G · 05/05/2016 at 14:03

If you already have the ruck swing it's smith

    Northernsoul74 · 05/05/2016 at 14:22

You really don't need cox as well. You will have 3 players clogging up your team, 2 with questionable JS and 1 never likely to play.

james · 05/05/2016 at 13:21

heres my team 460k in the bank, 20 trades left thoughts

DEF- Laird, Houli, Adams, Weitering, Dea, DBJ (Byrne, Ruggles)
MID- Dangerfield, Hannebery, Ward, Zieball, Shiel, Priddis, Parish (Hewett, Davis, Greasham)
Ruck- Gawn, Nic Nat (Lorensch)
FWD- Hall, Wells, Kerridge, De Goey, Benken, Tipungwuiti (Menadue, Petracca)

my main issues are Laird, Weitering, Dea, Parish, Benken, AMT. with only 20 trades left i feel i should hold Laird and Weitering for now, but not sure if the rug and byrne can hold up, so some trade idea's that i had were

Dea + Parish= Simpson + Treloar

Dea + AMT= Simpson + Dusty/Barlow

AMT + BenKen= Zorko + Buddy or Riewoldt as a POD + Greene or Dusty + Barlow

Thoughts on what i should do community

    Derek · 05/05/2016 at 13:32

You need to make every trade count from here on. At least another 10 premiums to bring in and only 20 trades left.

Be patient and wait for your rookies to fatten. Squeeze every last dollar

    You must look for bargains.

    No room for poor trades

      james · 05/05/2016 at 13:38

what trades would you make derek?

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 05/05/2016 at 13:39

Geez 20 left gotta b good trades from now on! That said shaw is probably about as cheap as he is gonna get so if u want him bring him now.
Weita is injured and will drop in price when he returns. If you don't see him as a keeper all year trade him to Shaw this week which will give u a bit more fire power in Def with laird missing.

    Mothballs · 05/05/2016 at 13:50

Trigger finger!! One of the problems for some people is that 30 trades is like Christmas. Methinks you are in strife unless you are very lucky. Why all the trades? This season there will be more injuries than ever for many reasons one being less rotations. I will be very interested to know how you are faring in round 18 or thereabouts.

      james · 05/05/2016 at 14:00

been crueled by injuries and suspensions this yaer

        Northernsoul74 · 05/05/2016 at 14:20

I hear yo James but you can't be trading out every injury and suspension. Usually people say anymore than 3 weeks trade but I reckon 4 is the new 3. I certainly regret trading out Rockliff a few weeks ago.

    Hayley · 05/05/2016 at 21:20

Weitering and Parish aren't playing, so trade them out for the best 2 you can get in the same positions. I'd go Heath Shaw and Barlow. Barlow can be moved forward at a later date.

TRIGGER HAPPY · 05/05/2016 at 13:22

Great work lek.
I'm painting this week.
Weita -Shaw
Dea – Smith

Err yibbitah yibbitah that's all folks.

Ron · 05/05/2016 at 14:40

Need some advice this week on trades. I have R Gray still sitting on the bench. 132k left, 26 Trades.
Def: Shaw, Rich, Seedsman, Weitering, D Byrne-Jones, Tippa, Brown, Dea
Mid: Ablett, Danger, Priddis, Barlow, Hannebury, Libba, Mills, Hewett, R Gray, Davis, Oliver
Ruc: Gawn, Natanui, Grimley
Fwd: D Martin, A Hall, Wells, Kerridge, McCarthy, Adams, Kennedy, Menadue

Korza · 05/05/2016 at 15:07

* Lekdog

Still cannot pick up Wright. Upto 10th overall in Fantasy.
Laird > Bartel
Mills > Rockliff or Adams > Martin,Wright ?

Cruze · 05/05/2016 at 16:08

Very simple this week – Downgrade a rookie to Josh Smith, Darcy Tucker etc and keep the cash for a monster promo trade next week

Hayley · 05/05/2016 at 16:38

You should see my defence this week!

Shaw, Adams, AMT, Dea, Hartley, DBJ. (Rance, Laird) lol

John · 05/05/2016 at 18:00

Trade out weitering for Darcy tucker, hold laird and take out someone like Matt crouch for a premo. Could pick Hannebery, Ward, Selwood, Zorko or Barlow.

James · 05/05/2016 at 18:47

Guys should I really hold laird? He's worth 490k and could be out for up to 3 weeks. Basically half a mil sitting and doing nothing.

    johnno2908 · 05/05/2016 at 19:38

Add to that he has only scored 1 ton for the year and it makes you think it is an even better idea…. He would have got a hundred last week but didnt play last quarter. Only problem is who do you upgrade to?

      James · 05/05/2016 at 21:02

I could maybe get kade Simpson ?

Yvraith · 05/05/2016 at 22:01

Cash not an issue which forward do I take out of
Waite, Zorko or Dahlhaus?
