        tuxCS · 04/05/2016 at 16:06

Derek mate, what's the name of your team?

scyb · 03/05/2016 at 17:42

Got inspired and running to the butchers to get some lamb chops for dinner. Welcome!

Vinny · 03/05/2016 at 17:44

Like this if your keeping laird for the 2-3 weeks.

Superbj · 03/05/2016 at 17:44

Best title yet jock, it's time to sacrifice some for the greater good

SCaddict · 03/05/2016 at 18:00

Wayno's hot tip is Josh Smith this week for the ultimate kiss of death. Looks like I'm bringing in the American Pie instead. 🙂

    Tim · 03/05/2016 at 19:32

    Come on Wayno. Killing us!

    Tophawk · 03/05/2016 at 20:34

I am bringing in the American Magpie as well. He offers a real point of difference.

Josh Smith (with all respect Josh) is just another mid field rookie trying to make it big. There are only so many midfield rookies you can pick. I have Petracca over Smith. Period. If I need to generate more cash later, I can always look at Keays in 2 weeks.

LEKD0G · 03/05/2016 at 18:10

Jock mate, I think we need to give Narelle the flick…we don't want anything hurting the stability of Coach kings

    jockreynolds · 03/05/2016 at 18:29

Don't you worry about that for half a second old mate! She can get stuffed.

Phil · 03/05/2016 at 18:11

I'm thinking of going Hanners to Smith and Shaw to Lee to free up some cash and build the war chest. Thoughts?

    JohnP · 03/05/2016 at 18:13

Great decision get some cash ready for some big upgrades

    Vinny · 03/05/2016 at 18:13

    Surely this is a lie.

    SC16 · 03/05/2016 at 18:17

good trades and in a couple of weeks trade back to hanners and shaw so then youve completly wasted 4 trades, love the strat

    Big d · 03/05/2016 at 18:18

Lee isn't even playing and trading out Hanners is just wasting a trade
Hanners and Shaw are gunning it why would you trade them out
This won't help you with anything

      Derek · 03/05/2016 at 18:47

thoughts on picking Treloar over Pendlebury and will Treloar be top 10 mid

    Derek · 03/05/2016 at 18:49

nope. won't be top 20 imo.

      rowdz · 03/05/2016 at 18:52

      surely scores more than pendles

        Southern S · 03/05/2016 at 19:00

They are pretty close in total score for the season and Pendles was or is playing injured.

        Derek · 03/05/2016 at 19:02

Pendlebury is a proven 125+ scorer for a number of years. he is without a doubt firmly in the top 8 midfielders going around (ask anyone here to list their top 8) even if he is off 5 or 10 points he will still be top 10.

Treloar is a solid 107 scorer. At best he can improve 5 or 10 points, but that won't put him in the top 10, at best it will be around that group like Beams, Wines, Sidebum, SMitchell, Mundy, cotchin, maybe the next 10.

          rowdz · 03/05/2016 at 20:24

good point. so i should still look at getting Pendles in even though he is no longer playing midfield which is affecting his scores or will he return to his best

            Rick Grimes · 04/05/2016 at 06:57

I think we'll see him more in the guts as the season progresses. I'm holding off for now but he'll be in my team post byes I think. Top 10 for mine.

FisherDan · 03/05/2016 at 18:25

Great pod cast as always fellas. Thinking of going Daniel Rich as an upgrade? Thoughts?

    Southern S · 03/05/2016 at 19:01

Large plums required going by Rich's supercoach history of about an 85 average. Not a top defender.

      Derek · 03/05/2016 at 19:06

i started with him, but i wouldn't be think he is a keeper. I'll keep him and hope i have a few trades left to upgrade him at the end, but to trade him in now….not sure. its not like he is a massive POD either.

Mr booby-buyer · 03/05/2016 at 18:26

    Scouser · 04/05/2016 at 07:43

Good luck with it Tom if he can last the season he could prove the doubters wrong, it's still a pretty big if though. Brave call but if your seasons stinking it up you've got to take some risks. Having said that you could probably get Rockliff in and wait on Daisy to see how he goes this week as well but go with your gut and back yourself in.

Shake n bake · 03/05/2016 at 18:35

Weitering Laird maybe McGovern out Dea will be lucky to keep his spot my def is stuffed!

Tony · 03/05/2016 at 18:38

Hi guys. What's your thoughts on josh smith's js. Probably ok??

    Average Joe · 03/05/2016 at 19:02

Wouldn't count on it when Adams comes back

      Derek · 03/05/2016 at 19:07

is that who he replaced in the team?

        Average Joe · 03/05/2016 at 19:22

Not necessarily, but the first players to go from the 22 would probably be him, broomhead and then Maynard. Varcoe set to come back soon as well. He might keep his spot this week, with Langdon possibly out, but after that I reckon he is gone. Besides, Goldsack, Marley Williams and Jamie Elliott all hopefully returning within the next few weeks

          Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 09:17

The way he is performing, you just can't drop him.

Toby N · 03/05/2016 at 18:45

Weitering and Davis out, Boyd and young Joshy Smith in. Thoughts???

jockreynolds · 03/05/2016 at 18:51

    John · 04/05/2016 at 12:08

Wish I could get there Jock. Been looking for a venue closer to home but none in my area just yet. Will keep looking for an opportunity to get amongst it though.

Sean · 03/05/2016 at 18:53

so just quickly, in your opinion does R Gray have to go?

    jockreynolds · 03/05/2016 at 18:58

    Nah – I'd hold him

    BestCoastEagles · 03/05/2016 at 20:31

Will be trading in R.Gray in a few weeks when he drops nicely. Stick to your convictions don't chase last weeks points

    Rick Grimes · 04/05/2016 at 07:01

No, hold him. I fully expect him to come back hard in a couple of weeks. I held Rocky and reaped the benefit (of course he may well blow to bits this weekend). There are not enough trades to chop and change players who are out for a couple of weeks.

Southern S · 03/05/2016 at 18:57

Great podcast as always fellas!

Was I imagining things when there was talk of trading out Hartley? Sure I heard that mentioned twice.

I'm either going nuts or I'm missing something…….Hartley has a negative -21 BE and set to go up 40k with a score of 70.

    jockreynolds · 03/05/2016 at 18:59

Nah you're not goin nuts old mate! I've just pulled a bit of a brain fart there mate!!

      Southern S · 03/05/2016 at 19:02

Ha ha all good love your work!

Tommo09 · 03/05/2016 at 18:59

Community, I need some help,
My defence is stuffed
Have to play M.Brown on the field

Anyway, Fyfe to Hanners
Davis to Smith

Good trades community??
After these I will have 23 trades and $331k left
Or should I miss smith and trade Weiters to a premo and M.brown on bench???

    Derek · 03/05/2016 at 19:09

if your defense is stuffed, why wouldn't you be using the fyfe trade to improve your defense. Do you have shaw or dawson?

      Tommo09 · 03/05/2016 at 19:12

      Heath shaw

      The Mountain · 03/05/2016 at 22:15

I like it. Zac Dawson is the ultimate POD and consistent with his scoring over the years of around 50 haha

        GoldRush · 03/05/2016 at 22:49

That be called the 'Gummy Shark' move!

    Scouser · 04/05/2016 at 07:49

Don't put brown on the field that's a disaster waiting to happen upgrade Weitering. You can afford to miss on Smith a good pick put js a concern when the Pies injury list starts to thin in a couple of weeks.

Tommo09 · 03/05/2016 at 19:04

Also should I go Pendles or Hannebery??
I already have Parker too

    BC · 04/05/2016 at 02:49

Hanners – he is a machine

    Scouser · 04/05/2016 at 07:50

Pendles much better value at the moment and starting to return to form.

Nick · 03/05/2016 at 19:05

hold laird and play tipa or trade to shaw which i have just enough funds for this week

    Rick Grimes · 04/05/2016 at 07:09

Laird is a top 6 defender and very reliable. Shaw is also that, but you want to be adding premos, not going sideways. Tippa is good for 70+ most days and has a 64 be, so he can stay another week I reckon. Shaw should still be under $600k next week so if you can see a plan to manoeuvre him in then (ie, Petracca in for a fat mid/fwd cow, Tippa up to Shaw), that's the way I'd go.

    Scouser · 04/05/2016 at 07:51

That's a waste of a trade Nick, hold laird and look at how you can upgrade Tpipa

Dasha · 03/05/2016 at 19:05

how much will dea go down if he scores below 60 odd again

    Don't Bush Babbie' · 03/05/2016 at 19:11

    approx 14k

Wighty36 · 03/05/2016 at 19:09

Dropped from 46th overall to 78th and have weitering, laird out this week and hunter still under cloud,
Early thoughts are holding laird trading out kennedy, weitering to smith and dusty via dpp as i had adams in fwds,
This leaves me with shaw, gibson, smith, byrnejones, adams, tippa starting DEF,
Tossed up between a premo def or martin but i think martin at this price is a steal and touch wood no more injuries until laird back then tippa will be turned into either simpson, rance, rich or houli but will have couple more weeks to make that decision

Please give me some thoughts?

    Brett · 03/05/2016 at 22:08

Wighty36 – I have Laird out too, and I am concerned about playing Tippa on my field against Sydney at the SCG this week.

Reckon the Bombers might get belted by over 80 points this week.

Maybe also consider bringing in Boyd this week (instead of Dusty)? Boyd has dropped around $50K, and appears to have really hit his straps in the past few weeks. Obviously, the main issue with him is if he plays most games this year – given his advancing years.

      Wighty36 · 03/05/2016 at 22:18

My last DEF spot is between tippa/brown or ruggles if his picked, boyd has come into my thoughts the only thing im hesitant in is i already have dalhaus, hunter, libba, adams not sure i want 5 from the one team he could be a potential upgrade for adams in a few weeks though!

      Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 09:24

The ball will certainly be down his end a lot, good opportunity to score.

The_Black_Mamba · 03/05/2016 at 19:11

Ryan Davis to Smith, Menadue to Martin with money I have saved up. Still have 70 k. Then downgrade someone to petracca and upgrade parish to uber premium. Thoughts?

Gibbs · 03/05/2016 at 19:15

Who should I trade weiters to? Have 500 k looking at houli?

    Danners · 03/05/2016 at 21:26

Depends on who you have in your defence, at the moment, I wouldn't be getting Rance in with no one having any idea what his role could be

      deman · 03/05/2016 at 21:35

matty boyd looking a decent option

tuxCS · 03/05/2016 at 19:17

Feels very strange to hear my own fathers voice on a podcast I so religiously listen to. Great stuff this week fellas!

    jockreynolds · 03/05/2016 at 19:22

Haa he's a wonderful bloke mate!

sc king · 03/05/2016 at 19:22

ok i have tipawugni, dea, laird and weitering have two trades to give, tipa for smith and then dea to pittard is my thaughts but please help

    Southern S · 03/05/2016 at 19:42

Tippa is fit and has a 64 BE.

Weitering has his shoulder half hanging off and his BE is 114.

You've got large plums bringing Pittard in, he has some big games but never seems to score big for long enough.

Tommo09 · 03/05/2016 at 19:24

Heres my team at the end of round 6
Only at about 2000th overall

Def: Shaw, Laird, Adams, Weitering, Tippa, DBJ (Byrne, Brown)
Mid: Danger Gaz, Parker, Libba, M.Crouch, Kennedy, Petracca (Fyfe, Davis, Gresham)
Ruck: Goldy, NicNat (Grimley)
Fwd: Hall, Martin, Barlow, Buddy, Wells, Kerridge (Papley, Menadue)

I could go Fyfe to Pendles or Hanners and Davis to Gresham
Davis to Smith and Fyfe to Gibson, Docherty or Simpson via DPP
The second one is caused by Laird and Weitering not playing and therefore having to play Brown and Byrne on the field.

Please help community!!!

    Southern S · 03/05/2016 at 19:34

Fyfe to Smith and Weitering to a premo defender?

      Tommo09 · 03/05/2016 at 20:17

Only problem is that my midfield may be a little weak for this week
I can't choose between Gibson, Simpson and Docherty though

        Hawks · 03/05/2016 at 20:31

        Scouser · 04/05/2016 at 07:55

    Squid · 03/05/2016 at 20:29

Could you trade Ben Kennedy out, push kerridge up trade in Dahlhaus then trade Fyfe for a gun mid with left over money?

      Tommo09 · 03/05/2016 at 20:32

Yeah but my defence will have one premo and 5 rookies

        Squid · 03/05/2016 at 20:56

Won't have to change your forward line all year though

Noigerbour · 03/05/2016 at 19:24

min0008 · 03/05/2016 at 19:27

Ryan Davis to Smith and Dea to Cox

Thoughts on double downgrading. After trades, I'll have 24 left and will have 420k in the bank.

    Southern S · 03/05/2016 at 19:40

Should work out for you, if you have weitering I'd cull him over Davis.

      min0008 · 03/05/2016 at 21:01

      I've got Weitering and Laird

        Falcon · 04/05/2016 at 07:15

        With thise 2 and dea
Youll want to trade weitering and dea
        Up and down
Or if you have some dpp trade out some others
But you need a def player bought in

Brothers FC · 03/05/2016 at 19:32

Thoughts on Zac Williams?

    Southern S · 03/05/2016 at 19:39

Not going to be a top defender from what I can tell.

    Kev · 03/05/2016 at 19:50

I like him as a pod to Rich. Been very consistent so far and has great efficiency (86%). Just don't expect massive scores from him

    SCaddict · 03/05/2016 at 20:25

I just picked him up this morning from the pool in my Draft league.

Not sure I'd have the stones to bring him in for Classic.

    Scott · 03/05/2016 at 20:27

I like him, ave 88 pretty good for a defender, tricky price at $411. Seems to have been scoring consistently this year. Highly rated in the prospectus. Is he a top 10 defender by the end of the year, who knows. Be a gutsy pick that could pay off.

    Loop · 04/05/2016 at 05:14

If they'd named him in round one he would've been in my team instead of Sheridan. I keeping looking at him but he's probably not going to be a top defender. Love the way he plays.

@Matr1x23 · 03/05/2016 at 19:33

Hey guys,

I'm a little stuffed too and there's only one place to turn to and that's my beloved community. So I've got 23 trades left and $361,600 in the war-chest. What to do next guys?!? It's doing my head in.

Defence: Shaw, LAIRD, Adams, WEITERING, Dea, Byrne-Jones (Hartley, Byrne)

Midfield: Dangerfield, Hannebery, Parker, Cripps, Rockliff, Mills, GRAY (Kennedy, Menadue, Davis)

Rucks: Gawn, Nic Nat

Forwards: Hall, Barlow, Wells, Kerridge, McDonald-Tip, Papley (Brown, Cox)

I think I've got all the right rookies but these injuries are just killing me now. Gray, Weitering, Laird. I don't know what area to focus on. Any help would be appreciated community!

    Southern S · 03/05/2016 at 19:38

    Weitering out.

    Tippa into backline, menadue/kennedy forward

    Trade Smith into midfield position.

    Dea > Simpson

Or if you don't like Smith and are wary about his JS then you could try to upgrade both Weitering and Dea with your warchest. Not sure if you can afford two top defenders though.

      Scott · 03/05/2016 at 19:47

I agree, trade out Weitering and Dea, for one premo and a rookie. If you don't like Smith or Cox, consider Keays or Petracca. The advantage of trading in boys on the bubble now is that next week you can cull another cash cow and then bring in Keays or Petracca.

    breakevens · 03/05/2016 at 20:21

Your team is a beautiful thing atm looking really strong
    My advice
    Sub off Laird for Hartley
    Trade Weitering to Simpson/Docherty
If you have enough DPP Dea to Dusty
if you don't have enough DPP Dea to Josh Smith

Damian · 03/05/2016 at 19:46

Jock, I have Shaw and Houli and they have the same bye round as Simpson, should this effect the selection of Simpson?

Sana · 03/05/2016 at 19:47

Dusty or Barlow?

    tuxCS · 03/05/2016 at 19:54

Barlow for me. Fyfe out has obviously helped him.

    Danners · 03/05/2016 at 20:36

Tough call, but with Life out, Barlow should be able to score better

    Beagz · 04/05/2016 at 13:31

Barlow will go back to his old role as soon as Neale and Mundy are back in which should be a week or two.

      Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 13:42

Neale and Mundy played last week………………Barlow got a 134………….

tuxCS · 03/05/2016 at 19:52

I'm in the process of painting the fence fellas.
Weitering to Cox (via AMT swing)
BenKen to Smith
Next week (If these players get near their projected scores it should happen)
Libba to Parker
Kerridge or Mills (depending on breakeven) to Priddis.
Will be holding both R.Gray and R.Laird considering their injuries are only 3 more weeks.

    Liam · 03/05/2016 at 20:28

Like it but think it's a bit too early to be trading put Kerridge,Mills and Libba.

      Phil · 03/05/2016 at 20:54

Agree… Kerridge and libba could be a keepers? Mills a plenty of time. Jumping off the boat way to soon?

        tuxCS · 04/05/2016 at 00:24

It's a decent argument but i've thought about it a lot and it helps me get closer to full premo faster, I pretty much have to get Priddis next week, as he'll be at his lowest for the season, and i would like to get Parker in next week, but i suppose he can wait. I can definitely see that it may be too early but how much more money can they make? Is it worth losing out on possible upgrades just to squeeze out 30k more? Will it benefit me in the long run? Surely everyones goal should be to get to full premo as quick as possible, and thats just what im trying to do now. 🙂

          Dean · 05/05/2016 at 23:30

Priddis is shit this year, forget him. You are crazy to even consider trading Kerridige or Mills as their breakevens are 23 & 33
Look to trade Kennedy & Menadue out next week as they will fattened right up by then.

Most of these are midfielders because this is where the points are found

While there is lots of players inform at the moment, don’t be to quick to jump on the score bandwagon, or as Jock and Peter would say “Don’t follow the points”. Many people will be quick to jump on some of the rookies that scored and some of the other players who have finally shot into form. Instead sit back and observe their scores. We don’t want to be wasting any trades this week or any other week for that matter. Stick to your premo’s and try and sideways trade less if you can.

This post took a while to make so I would appreciate it if you would show

G'day guys, which rookies need to be culled first in what order? BenKen, Dea, AMT?

    tuxCS · 03/05/2016 at 20:09

    Dea, AMT, BenKen

      tom · 03/05/2016 at 20:12

    breakevens · 03/05/2016 at 20:17

      Southern S · 03/05/2016 at 20:40

Ben ken who hasn't bled with a 51 BE ahead of Dea?

He has bled 13k, last two scores of 39 and 41, and has a BE of 94.

Interesting approach……….you sense a big game coming from Dea against Sydney?

        breakevens · 04/05/2016 at 09:04

Dea was consistent from the first 4 rounds but his last two games have been poor
Set for a 75 this week
BenKen might be dropped following 44 point loss

          Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 11:28

Ben Ken might be dropped for Trengove soon I guess.

        Jonathan Camac · 04/05/2016 at 09:05

I tend to agree with Southern S and tuxCS. After a bit of thought, I am putting the order at Dea, AMT, BenKen.

Jim · 03/05/2016 at 20:13

Weitering to Simpson or Dusty? (DPP)

    breakevens · 03/05/2016 at 20:16

Depends on the structure of your backline. If you have Laird go with Simpson, wait a week on Dusty

    Danners · 03/05/2016 at 21:20

Dusty, more likely to produce more points

breakevens · 03/05/2016 at 20:22

Mills is tracking along very nicely at 335k and a breakeven of 33
His scores seem to be improving week in week out could we potentially see this bloke reach 400k?

    Danners · 03/05/2016 at 20:31

    He should be able to

    SCaddict · 03/05/2016 at 20:32

Could get close especially if he can cash in on the Bombers this weekend. He'd probably need to get that average to around 80 to break the $400K mark though.

    Dasha · 03/05/2016 at 20:53

a big score this week and its very likely

breakevens · 03/05/2016 at 20:24

Best rookies this year

1. Adams
2. Kerridge
3. Weitering
4. Mills
5. Parish
6. AMT
7. Byrne-Jones

Agree with the order??

    Tommo09 · 03/05/2016 at 20:35

    Yeah I agree
Funny how there is 4 defenders in that considering defenders are thought of as not very high scoring

    Southern S · 03/05/2016 at 20:46

I'd bin Weitering from that list the most he peaked to was about 141k profit.

Mitch brown and Hartley look like topping that. McCarthy has already made 143k now on a BE of 43.

My list would be pretty similar but Weiter and Parish wouldn't make the cut.

      Hab · 04/05/2016 at 01:44

Just because he didn't make as much money as the others doesn't mean he was a star rookie. He's average is 75 with a 23 in there.

He was dependable and he complemented the backline quite nicely without ever being a liability. Something that can't be said for either Brown or Harley.

        Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 11:26

Well I guess the term best rookie is subjective, plus it's early in the season.

Mills is above him for sure, averaging 73.83 and still fit (Weiter ave 73.5 plus cost 20k more)

        Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 12:00

AMT for example is averaging 71.5 and only cost 100k, also is still playing.

Weitering was great until he got a 23 and injured.

    Rick Grimes · 04/05/2016 at 09:17

Yea pretty much. Although B-J could do well over the coming weeks. I've found that my defence is now near premo due to def rookie value. I'm hoping Mills and Kerridge can get up to near $400k to allow midfield upgrades. I still have AMT and B-J to blast against the wall which will help. Menapoo….not so much.

Tommo09 · 03/05/2016 at 20:26

Gibson, Simpson or Docherty???

Simpson – do some research on his consistency over ten years of footy. Flipping plays every game every season, and averages 90+. Absolute gun.

Mitta · 03/05/2016 at 20:35

Hey community. Nervous about the amount of money that is being made this year with rookies so am wondering whether Cox is a necessity?
My two trade options are:

1: Dea out for H. Shaw. Menadue out for Smith.
2: Dea out for Cox. Menadue out for Smith.

Thanks guy, much appreciated!

    Cameron · 03/05/2016 at 20:47

Definitely option 1, shaw is a must this week as he as cheap as he will be for awhile and no Cox isn't a must

    Southern S · 03/05/2016 at 20:50

    Taking cox for cash………sounds rough.

Mac · 03/05/2016 at 20:38

Is anyone else thinking of maybe holding some rookies longer than we should due to the lack of good rookies to downgrade to? I think people will waste trades on downgrades and will suffer when the rookie they bring in get dropped. We have seen it already with Fyfe, Laird, Gray missing weeks due to injury. I think trades will be very valuable and that is why I will not downgrade to any rookie unless they have very good job security.

    Dasha · 03/05/2016 at 20:51

couldnt have said it better myself

      Don't Bush Babbie' · 03/05/2016 at 21:03

I've had Petracca from day 1 and won't be downgrading to Smith or Cox but I will be upgrading to Parker & Simpson via Dea & Menadue ( 617k on hand ) and holding at this stage Laird & Weitering.

        Phil · 03/05/2016 at 21:07

        Thats a nice move!

Phil · 03/05/2016 at 20:48

Yup! Nothing good other than Petracca next week. He's my target rookie, might bring in smith just because he dirt cheap and will have a huge cash generation and might even stay in side Pies are in a dark area really cant lose and if he sat loophole?

Luviboy1 · 03/05/2016 at 21:01

Favourite time of the week. Brilliant stuff boys. Team is looking pretty stuffed at this point in time with all of Gray, Laird, Wingard and Weitering all planted firmly on the bench. Have 221k and 25 trades. Current team looks like this:

DEF: Shaw, Bartel, Adams, AMT, Brown, DBJ, (Laird, Weitering)
MID: Danger, Ward, Gaz, Pendles, Libba, Mills, Hewett, Petracca, (Gray, Menadue, Davis)
RUCK: Gawn, Goldy, (Wyatt)
FWD: Hall, Wells, Barlow, Kerridge, BenKen, McCarthy, (Wingard, Loersch)

Defense is left looking very weak, so thinking;
AMT to Simpson/Boyd and BenKen to Keays/Smith via Petracca.
Plan on holding all of Wingard, Gray and Laird, as they are short term injuries. Obvious concerns with Smith's JS with so much talent looking to come back into the Pies side. This would leave me with around 200k and 23 trades, so next week I could paint the fence with Weitering and Menadue/Davis. Thoughts community?

Clem · 03/05/2016 at 21:21

community, what are we all doing with Jacob weitering and Rory laird,
and btw i did post a league code on at the start of the year and our league is ranked 223rd out of 25,502

    CJudd3Votes · 03/05/2016 at 21:41

Laird looks to be one of only a few reliable high scoring backs, trade him out now and by the time you come to go full premo he will probably be in the top 6 defenders then you end up burning a trade to get him back in.
As for Weitering i'd say either trade now or be prepared to hold him for another 4-5 weeks after he returns otherwise you're looking at minimising cash production

      Clem · 04/05/2016 at 06:44

Danners · 03/05/2016 at 21:24

Great stuff Jock and crew! Seems like I have hit the injury/MRP curse. Robinson, Rance, R.Gray, Rockliff, JJ, and now Laird and we are only 6 rounds in. Since I already have Rance on the sidelines my trades this week are
Laird to Boyd
Menadue to Simpson (DPP)
With $60k in the bank

    CJudd3Votes · 03/05/2016 at 21:36

    hold laird

    tuxCS · 04/05/2016 at 00:27

A lot of people have Laird mate, and the majority of people will be holding him. It won't hurt you too badly rankings wise, but if you want to do it as a potential shark move, go for it, whats your team name btw Danners?

      Danners · 04/05/2016 at 14:36

So you are advising me to keep Laird and Rance on the sidelines?
      Team name: Dann's Giants

        tuxCS · 04/05/2016 at 14:39

It's only for one week. May as well.

    jack viney · 04/05/2016 at 11:35

yeah giants are shit they lost to dees

      Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 12:09

I guess hawks are shit because they lost to Port twice last year…………..oh wait they won the flag.

Losing to one team does not mean you can't beat another, different matchups? Structures? Ever watched football?

      Danners · 04/05/2016 at 14:35

We did beat St.Kilda at the Etihad though…

tom · 03/05/2016 at 21:25

petracca or mason cox?

    Clem · 03/05/2016 at 21:36

would go with cox this week as his price will rise before petraccas does, but in the long run petracca and keays look nice

    CJudd3Votes · 03/05/2016 at 21:38

Both ideally. I think Petracca is the better prospect however i am always hesitant to bring in a rookie after only one week so timing wise Cox might be a smarter trade

    virat kohli · 04/05/2016 at 11:36

    petracca FTW

@OldCampaignerSC · 03/05/2016 at 21:48

Have alot of issues community..

Laird,Gray,Weitering and probably Libba OUT

Ranked 1900 with 25 trades and 10k in bank

Team as is..

Shaw LAIRD Simpson Adams WEITERING DBJ (hartley, dea)

Danger Ablett Parker Shiel LIBBA Wells Kerridge (GRAY hewett davis)

Goldy Gawn (goetz)

Hall Barlow Merrett Tippa BenKen McCarthy (brown menadue)

Team feels like its in a mess.Think of going Dea to Smith via dpp and probably Weitering to Dusty but with Laird out i might need another DEF but i dont want to pay top dollar.I feel Dusty is better value at 500k then most DEF..thoughts communitu?

    Kev · 04/05/2016 at 08:11

Trade your injuries made. Dea will probably lose some cash but he's a warm body

      50_Shades · 04/05/2016 at 08:25

Agree Weitering should go, but Laird is a premium and only out for 2-3 weeks, so consider that one carefully.

Harry · 03/05/2016 at 21:55

Is Shaw a must get with his low breakeven this week?

    Phil · 03/05/2016 at 22:19

Yep dont get him now you might never get him?

      Derek · 03/05/2016 at 22:44

Yes. By this week everyone will have him. Would be a massive POD not to have him GWS have a tough draw ahead of them but I'm not willing to take that risk. Will get him this week

    Danners · 04/05/2016 at 14:37

He is a must have sometime in the season

Phil · 03/05/2016 at 22:22

Yeah….I'm thinking the same…..I think cox might be a trap? Fing Buckley is such a dip sh*t! He could fck up a wet dream! But he might be a home run too?

    Phil · 03/05/2016 at 22:24

Meaning cox a home run….he does have the dpp

Bobby Singh · 03/05/2016 at 22:37

Hello community, need your help with some dilemma's.

Should I go Laird to Simpson? I've got 200k and 23 trades.
Should I keep Laird and hope that Brown/Ruggles provide decent cover?

    Jonathan Camac · 04/05/2016 at 09:08

I would hold him personally, I think Laird has too much upside to trade out for the sake of 2-3 weeks. But that's just me – up to you. I have other more pressing priorities, but maybe you don't – so whatever you feel is necessary.

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 10:17

Brown has a bit more cash to give, and as i always say to squeeze every cent you can out of your rookies. But he is playing Swans and to have him on the field this week will give you some sleepless nights.

As you have some cash available, think about Brown ($237k) >> BSmith ($427k). With Laird out of action, BSmith might be the man to step up.

      Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 13:40

Laird's injury is only 2-3 weeks to lock in a player on a hope their scoring will increase significantly from that is high risk, could end up with a non keeper.

    jezzahill · 04/05/2016 at 13:30

    Hold Laird.

Mitch · 03/05/2016 at 23:06

Torn what to do this week !

Team is
shaw laird adams weitering amt dea dbj m.brown
parker danger ablett ward pendles libba mills hewitt davis dunkley cuningham
gawn martin cox
hall wells martin barlow kerridge petracca menadue mccarthry

499k in bank

Which option should i do?

1- mills, dea out / simpson, dahlhause in
2 – mills out / mid premo in
3 – just upgrade dea (plan is to upgrade weitering to houli/mcveigh in week or 2
any other suggestions please help out communtiy
dont really want to trade mills but cant pick who else to trade to a premo

    Cameron · 03/05/2016 at 23:19

Would trade amt or weitering before mills

      Mitch · 03/05/2016 at 23:35

      upgrade / downgrade too?

        Cameron · 04/05/2016 at 08:02

Probably would strengthen up your backline first, trade dea and weitering and double upgrade if you can to Simpson and probably docherty. if you want a forward premo would look at Zorko/Dahlhaus. Don't think you can use dpp to trade in a midfielder unfortunately

    CoachDamo · 03/05/2016 at 23:25

I agree with Cameron. No need to trade mills

    Jonathan Camac · 04/05/2016 at 09:09

Personally, I would be upgrading Dea to a Simpson. Your backline looks thin – wouldn't hurt to strengthen it.

Roger · 03/05/2016 at 23:53

Hey community.
Seeing how laird is out for 2-3 and weitering missing as well, it's really threw a spanner in the works. While I want to keep Rory, I'm wondering what I should do. I've thought of some options.
1: weitering to tucker if his named again
Laird to Houli making over 200k cash but losing a premium player
Weitering go tucker
Tippa to Bartel, Simpson, docherty or Boyd which will mean I'll have to put brown on the ground and will have less then 50k in the bank.
Team looks like this
Def: Shaw, Laird, Adams, Weitering, Tippa, Byrne Jones (Brown, Hartley)
Mid : Parker, Dangerfield, Hannebery, Ward, Ablett, Pendlebury, Liberatoe, Kennedy (Davis, Petracca, Macpherson)
Rak : Gawn, Martin (Cox)
Fwd : Hall, Wells, Franklin, Greene, Barlow, Kerridge (McCarthy, Grimely)
4k in the bank.
Any advice would be great.

smartass · 04/05/2016 at 00:10

those buying shaw r chasing last 2 weeks points, watch them crash n burn. theres a reason we started without heath, remember?

    tuxCS · 04/05/2016 at 00:28

I hope to god that this is a joke.

    Lachie · 04/05/2016 at 09:10

He is a consistent premo from the past… he is destined to score well with that kick to handball ratio.

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 10:08

most people will have him by the end of this week. Those who get him now have the satisfaction that they got him $50k cheaper than all those started with him, but have missed out on some good points.

if you are looking for a big POD, then don't get him, could be a shark move.

GWS has a tough run of games coming up so if he spuds up, it won't matter too much because most people will be in the same boat.

    tuxCS · 04/05/2016 at 13:18

Hey mate, sorry for being so harsh before, I thought you were trolling. Buying a premo like Shaw should be everyones intention this week. Nobody is chasing points trying to get him into their sides, he is probably the best defender in supercoach history, bar possibly Brendan Goddard when he was a mid/def. The only reason i started without Shaw was because i was hoping he'd have a slow start to the season (like he did), and then get him in as one of my first upgrades when he was a bit cheaper.

      smartass · 04/05/2016 at 13:24

watch my reasoning below, the plan was and is to upgrade defense after all other lines were completed. given shaw is scoring well below wat he was initially priced, the money has been well spent elsewhere with full premo mid, ruck n fwds. in 2 weeks, watever the price, shaw and laird r in, bang bang!

Burndog · 04/05/2016 at 00:22

I started without the prick because i couldn't afford him. Fattened up my rookies and can get him in now. He will be top six at the end of the season…it's not like there's a heap of defenders all putting their hands up.

smartass · 04/05/2016 at 01:10

and remember shaw is a key position defender, might easily spud up next 2 weeks. its not like he is always in the guts!

    JamiesNinjas13 · 04/05/2016 at 10:29

You taking the p*ss? He is not a key position defender

    Rooster · 04/05/2016 at 10:33

Key position defender?? Since when was sure a KPD?

    Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 11:06

Lol, Key position defenders usually arent 184 centimeters. Definitely trolling

      Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 12:04

Sadly I don't think that person is trolling. Sanity is questionable.

        smartass · 04/05/2016 at 12:25

no im not trolling, shaw will b my next upgrade after these 2 weeks of downgrades. its no pressing issue, thats my point. rookies r more important at this stage. but thats just my opinion

          Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 12:38

I agree rookies are the most important thing especially when they are lacking.

But expecting the no.1 defender from last year to easily spud it up because 'he's not in guts' is not realistic, the guy knows how to get points in defense.

            smartass · 04/05/2016 at 12:40

im playing a high risk strategy, with a great bench, if after petracca n keays, theres no gud rookie on the bubble, i'll b flying!

              smartass · 04/05/2016 at 12:47

and shaw is still scoring lower than wat he was priced for. he has to b in every team i agree. but those who r getting him this week r chasing last 2 weeks pts, at the cost of 2 major rookies on the bubble. is that a fair assessment?!

                Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 12:57

It is, I've been stocking up on rookies myself and am considering another double downgrade this week, at the cost of higher points.

Not sure whether to go Howard over Cox though, Smith locked in so far.

Hold laird, will be top 6 defender so you are only going to have to bring him back in later on anyway, that's 2 trades you don't need to waste

    Kev · 04/05/2016 at 08:08

If you're going for overall then you're right, 3 weeks is too long to hold him

Westy · 04/05/2016 at 07:30

Weitering to Shaw
BenKen to Cox

Takes care of rucks through byes and gives me a swing with Grimley.

    tom · 04/05/2016 at 11:33

dont get rid of the the little man benny kennedy

Alec · 04/05/2016 at 08:02

Can't decide who to get in out of docherty, Houli or Rich?

    Kev · 04/05/2016 at 08:07

Doch. Tigers are rubbish atm and Rich is not a keeper

      50_Shades · 04/05/2016 at 08:27

x2. Doc is having a good consistent year

        Jonathan Camac · 04/05/2016 at 09:10

x3. Although, if you down have Simpson, I'd be looking at him first.

Matt · 04/05/2016 at 08:06

Who to bring in this week out of Simpson, houli and Boyd? I already have Shaw, laird and docherty.

    Panda · 04/05/2016 at 08:46

    Simpson or Boyd

    Josh · 04/05/2016 at 08:57

Something about two premos from the same team and the same part of the ground doesn't sit right with me, so usually I'd say Boyd, but he is at Risk of losing points later in the season when players return from injury.

Maybe Simpson and docherty are the hannabry/Parker and Selwood/danger of the defence world this year

creeky23 · 04/05/2016 at 08:28

My trades this week

Dea and Davis OUT
Buddy and Smith IN

#standbyhird · 04/05/2016 at 08:59

My trades this week

Weitering & Libba OUT
Selwood & Dempsy IN

    Lachie · 04/05/2016 at 09:11

Why Libba out? Bit early imo but could work out i guess

    breakevens · 04/05/2016 at 09:42

Why Libba you're wasting a trade
Dempsy is a unique selection how much is he?

      #standbyhird · 04/05/2016 at 11:01

      He is only 290k

        Beady Eye · 04/05/2016 at 11:18

There's a reason for that – he's never averaged more than 78 in a season.

Smacks a bit of chasing cars.

    fatty vautin · 04/05/2016 at 10:49

sure its not curly larry or shemp

Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 09:30

Who should be first to go, Menadue, Davis ?

Also i know this question has been asked a lot but what to do about Josh Smith? Some are saying his JS is dodgy, but at the same time, if he is playing well, you can't drop him, especially with Collingwood's poor run of form. I need to get rid of 1 of these underperforming cash cows to fund the Weitering to Shaw trade, as i only have 120k.

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 10:31

same answer as last week. hold them if they are selected. They are still making a bit of cash and if they play they are always a chance to have their blue moon game.

remember TMiller last year. Did nothing early, sat on the bench and boom rounds 5 to 7 he went 105, 85, 98.

if not selected then they are gone.

      Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 10:44

True, but Shaw is a must have this week, so need to bring him in one way or another

        Derek · 04/05/2016 at 12:35

answer will be, whoever isn't selected this week. If both selected, i would hold menadue purely on the basis of his DPP.

Mongrel punt · 04/05/2016 at 09:34

As a Pies fan I reckon Smith can hold his spot. With Langdon joining Williams, Ramsey and scharranberg on the injury list. It leaves a spot for a running defender. Throw in Ben Sinclairs constant injuries and Smith will be fine. Plus bucks likes him a lot. Talked him up through the NAB.
Cox is in our best 22 as we speak. Clokes return wont change that.
I am doing the double downgrade this week. Dea to cox (Brown swing). Kennedy to Smith. Luckily I traded out Weitering for Simpson last week. Sitting 247th overall.

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 10:24

Thanks MP. i'm looking at JSmith but worried about JS. you have given me some comfort.

I'm not a Cox fan. i have my doubts that him and Cloke can be in the same team, and you have to give Cloke another run soon. Cox is big, but serious doesn't get much of the footy. he won't be rucking, so he will rely on kicking a few goals if he plays.

Brett · 04/05/2016 at 09:37

Is Dougal Howard a better pick than Cox because of J.S

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 10:18

Lobbe out for 12 weeks. it is his spot to now loose. I like him.

      Brett · 04/05/2016 at 11:24

    Danners · 04/05/2016 at 14:37

Yes I would rather have him over Cox

Derek · 04/05/2016 at 09:59

i'm with Jock on this new vacuum of opportunity concept.

I think Clarko also has the same idea, 1 man goes down another man takes his place.

When players like Hodge, laird, fyfe go down, we need to look at who will benefit?

When Rocky (and beams) was out, it was Hanley & Rich who stepped up. With Fyfe out of action, Barlow found some midfield time. Swallow & O'Meara missing it has been Hall who got the job in the guts. we need to look ahead and see what opportunities there might be when key players get injured.

I know laird might only be out for 2 or 3 weeks, i'm quite happy to have BSmith in my team.

Who fills Hodge's role at the hawks? Will bruest get more midfield time now, maybe whitecross gets a run?

Lobbe out for 12 weeks, does Howard get the job or will Charlie?

I'd love to hear other peoples thoughts on who will benefit from some of these injuries.

    Dave · 04/05/2016 at 10:44

My problem with Dougal is that he is only a forward and has poor scoring potential. The nice thing about cox is he has ruck/fwd eligibility. I think a guy who could take on a greater role is westhoff super cheap at the moment. Proven 90+ scorer.

      Derek · 04/05/2016 at 10:49

i didn't realise he was only a forward, i'm not that keen on him.

        Chill · 04/05/2016 at 12:14

Your point is still valid though Derek. He is a fwd in Supercoach but you could assume he will be assisting in the ruck because of Lobbe's injury. He may not score huge but he may find a place in the team for a long while to come.

          Derek · 04/05/2016 at 12:32

i watched him play his first game, when i still had Lobbe in my team, i was actually worried that he was good enough to take Lobbe's place in the team. i wasn't far wrong. he has a good jump on him.

            Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 15:36

I'm now leaning towards dougal over Cox their stats aren't that far apart minus the goals plus dougals job security seems certain.

    Dallas · 04/05/2016 at 10:45

I also don't mind the Breust pick but at a similar price of prefer Gunston or Rioli for 30k more.

      Derek · 04/05/2016 at 10:49

      i just avoid hawks

    Dave · 04/05/2016 at 12:37

What do you think of mundy as a potential option, in the coming weeks?

      Derek · 04/05/2016 at 15:11

i have never been a Mundy fan.

what i do like about Fremantle players is their draw over the last 6 weeks. They get 5 Home games in the last 6 games.

i know that is a long way off, and the Ross Lyon affect will be in play, and fremantle might not even care at that stage…but it is something i put in the back of my mind, especially if a mundy or sandilands are a big POD come league finals.

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 13:37

For Hodge Will Langford might come in but I'd also expect Burgoyne's midfield time to increase.

I'm assuming Howard and Dixon will share the ruck duties?

Laird would possibly be covered by Van Berlo or Ricky Henderson.

The vacuum effect will be minimal for brodie Smith I reckon, but you never know.

      Derek · 04/05/2016 at 15:07

remember last year when Lewis and Hodge were out for a few weeks. Burgoyne knocked out a few big scores.

Cameron · 04/05/2016 at 10:29

The only way I can get Parker in is to trade libba, is it worth it?

    Matt · 04/05/2016 at 12:12

not worth it now, wait for either him to drop in price, or when you can cash in a couple of rookies

      Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 12:34

When is parker going to drop in price though?

        Cameron · 04/05/2016 at 13:01

That is my worry I don't think he will be this cheap for the rest of the season

          Lachie · 04/05/2016 at 13:45

          he will

    Danners · 04/05/2016 at 14:41

No, Parker will be cheaper before the byes

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 15:08

Let's look at the matches before the byes.

For me he can easily go big in 4 out of those 7 games so I'm not sure why people are convinced he'll go down in price, anything could happen.

He could drop, he could stay around 600k, or he could even rise.

Derek · 04/05/2016 at 10:33

worst case is we get two more weeks from him and make $100k. he should play the next two, surely?

Lime · 04/05/2016 at 10:49

Is it worth trading in Rocky and Smith for Dea and BenKen via DPP or holding seeing I have used 2 trades most rounds apart from round 1, Cheers

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 11:35

With low trades hold, just do Dea to a downgrade if possible.

Marc · 04/05/2016 at 11:02

Cox or J.Smith?

    50_Shades · 04/05/2016 at 11:20

    Both,double downgrade week for me…
If I could only pick one, I'd take cox for the dpp

    Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 11:26

Tough, more competition for Smith's position, but at the same time, Cox hasn't been lighting it up. I'd probably go Smith due to his better performances.

    Tom · 04/05/2016 at 11:32

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 12:40

I'm not a Cox fan. i have my doubts that him and Cloke can be in the same team, and you have to give Cloke another run soon. Cox is big, but serious doesn't get much of the footy. he won't be rucking, so he will rely on kicking a few goals if he plays.

we need a min of 2 games out of Smith to make $100k (more would be better, but as a worse case). i like his chances of getting 2 games, maybe a few more.

Clarky · 04/05/2016 at 11:23

Hi Community

I am running really low on cash right now I only have 100k in the warchest, is this week a good week to double downgrade to the 2 magpie rookies? Or should i look to next week to do this? Problem is i don't have Shaw and he is seen as a must have this week. These are my 2 options.

Trade out T Mckenzie for Cox (Via Brown DPP) and Menadue for Smith (Leaves me with 395k)
Trade out Menadue for Smith, Weitering to Shaw (Leaves me with 14k)

Don't like that 34 he scored. The 140 looks to be an anomaly.

breakevens · 04/05/2016 at 11:58

Most disappointing players this year

1. Sam Gray
2. Nat Fyfe
3. Chad Wingard
4. JJ
5. Brad Crouch

    tom · 04/05/2016 at 12:07

    Stefan Martin

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 12:18

In some ways I think Brad Crouch shouldn't be on the list as everyone knew the risks before choosing, and injury took him down.

Even Robbie Gray could make that list?

Sam Gray no.1 for sure, 2016 Burn man award!

    Kev · 04/05/2016 at 12:27

Harsh on JJ! He was on everyone's wanted list before injury

    Kev · 04/05/2016 at 12:27

      Nah, everyone knows he's a yo-yo.

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 12:50

you cant include players who get injured. they all have been.

SMartin, JLewis, westoff and the Bont are the few that standout to me

      GoHawks · 04/05/2016 at 16:05

Thats Harsh on Martin, was scoring so well before getting knocked-out, even in the game he was KO'd was 60 points before half-time. Came back a week early, scored poorly.

      Luke · 04/05/2016 at 18:22

Biggest surprises of the year

1. Marcus Adams
2. Jarrad Waite
3. Matthew Wright
4. Tom Papley
5. Aaron Hall

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 12:31

    1. Waite
    2. Parker
    3. Adams
    4. Coniglio
    5. Fantasia

    Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 12:35

Waite at the top surely, no one expected him to start with 6 tons.

      BundyBear · 04/05/2016 at 13:13

I have had Waite in from the start. Everyone said he was too unpredictable and no good. Funny thing is, most people are still saying that.

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 12:56

    waite definately.

Parker has surprised me, didn't think he could post elite numbers like he has been. Even last week he was doing a partial tag on Rich he was on 44 at half time but still managed to go massive by the end of the game.

of the rookies DBJ was the big surprise for me. Already increased $150k and a BE of -13

Sahil · 04/05/2016 at 12:25

community what about libba? is it safe to hold for one more week or time to go. Looking for an easy Libba –> priddis trade in a week or so?

    Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 14:00

Libba looks like a potential keeper to be honest, would be using one of your fat cash cows to get Pridda

    Danners · 04/05/2016 at 14:39

Libba did a have bad start to the season a couple years back then he went off averaging around 115 I believe so hold for now

      Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 15:13

Yep hard to ditch Libbe as he has potential to go big.

I'm going to trade Dea and weatering for petracca and Zorko/Hanners/Sloane/Parker/ Dahlhaus? Help please!

    Rooster · 04/05/2016 at 12:41

How about make your own decision old mate!! All your options are premos and top 10 candidates in their respective positions – the decision is yours to make as to which one you go for. Take into consideration factors such as durability, upcoming fixtures and your bye structure.

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 12:42

Parker is now rated no.1 SC scorer in the comp. Ignore at your own peril!

    Phil · 04/05/2016 at 14:43

    Get Hunter or Viney in.

      EAD · 04/05/2016 at 18:59

      Both actually

Beagz · 04/05/2016 at 12:59

Hi Jock,
Great Podcast as usual.

Currently sitting 68 overall and planning out the next 5 weeks.

When looking at which lambs are to go first, it is so important to PRIORITISE.

Priority should be given to your team structure, NOT price. Getting at extra 20k from trading a playing rookie this week instead of next is not worth leaving your self short in defence or attack.

Be patient, smart and don't let your emotions get in the way of the right call.

Not saying anything you all don't know, just a friendly guiding voice!

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 13:57

nice rank. there are two teams equal in 68th place, which one are you?

      Beagz · 04/05/2016 at 21:59

      Fisting action

Soda · 04/05/2016 at 13:18

Hello community, bit of a dilemma here do I try to go full premo as fast as I can by going
Dea—->Smith VIA DPP
Weitering—–>Simpson/Boyd/Any Other premo but shaw
Or continue upgrading mids by going
Weitering—–>Smith DPP
Menadue/Benken —-> Rocky (Swinging Hall into fwd)

    Derek · 04/05/2016 at 13:54

you should already have a good idea of who you want in your team. the idea is to now watch those players you don't have and pick them up when you think they are at their lowest price. doesn't really matter what order you bring them in. for most of them, there is always a later time to get them. everyone will be getting Heath Shaw this week, but if you can't afford him, don't get Simpson (unless he was on your list) Shaw has some tough games coming up and in 3 weeks time he might be cheap again.

Tom · 04/05/2016 at 13:52

Want to get heater in this week for weitering but am concerned with the lack of fwd rookies on the horizon. Is there any down grade targets over the next few weeks up forward that might be alright or should we bring cox in to generate cash while we can? Thoughts

    Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 14:01

May be risky but what about Petracca?

      Tom · 04/05/2016 at 14:28

Started with him at the start of the year. Tossing up between heater down back or cox + $ up fwd really, just worried a few fwd rookies are coming to the end and the down grade targets are slim

      Derek · 04/05/2016 at 15:12

      nice POD

        Derek · 04/05/2016 at 15:14

i mentioned a couple of time on my posts, don't waste Petracca as a Midfield. Bring him in as a forward rookie. there are so few available.

          Kev · 04/05/2016 at 16:18

I don't buy into the "no rookies on the horizon" talk. There were 6 debutants last week.

            Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 17:41

But a majority of those rookies could be dropped as quick as they were put in.

@HeiroDAB · 04/05/2016 at 14:04

Help please?

M.Boyd or J. Pittard? or someone else.

Already have Shaw, Laird, Simpson

need 4th premium / cover for Laird next 2 weeks.

    Tommy · 04/05/2016 at 14:08

definitely Matty Boyd, in recent years, Pittard had the same sort of start to this year, but falls away. Boyd extremely reliable

Hamma · 04/05/2016 at 14:04

What's everyone's thoughts on weitering down to darcy tucker and dea up to rich

    Danners · 04/05/2016 at 14:38

Rich could be a good POD

    Southern S · 04/05/2016 at 15:00

Paying a premium for Rich who's never been a top defender.

Not too excited about Tucker's cash generation, that saying if you didn't double downgrade to the defensive bubble boys two weeks ago you may want to go with him.

      Derek · 04/05/2016 at 15:16

SS is a self confessed Rich hater.

i have him from the start, but would be careful to bring him in now as a fully fledged keeper, especially with Hanley in fine form and Beams coming back this week.

        tuxCS · 04/05/2016 at 16:29

People who cant handle tags have no respect from me.

MZD · 04/05/2016 at 14:10

I got a decision to make this week and needed the communities opinions. Was originally gonna go BenKen to Selwood last week, but wanted to wait 1 more week and now I have to fork out an extra 10k for Jelwood which will leave me with 8k. So now the week has come and I believe Jelwood is hitting his straps and with Danger freeing him looks like a good choice. But always loved Rockliff's work and he doesn't need his team to do well for him to get a 130 based on his track record. Rockliff was the best tackler last year and pride himself on getting first to the ball and will leave me with a tonne of money for upgrades on Tippa and Weiters.

Alex · 04/05/2016 at 14:57

Rockliff… A trap or a top 10 from here on it.

    MZD · 04/05/2016 at 15:02

As much as I love him , you can probably wait 1 week. He's at 483k even if he goes to 500k it will still be considered relatively cheap. Go with the guys with better avg at least you can base your judgement through this yrs stats.

      MZD · 04/05/2016 at 15:04

Selwood is the best midfielder through the last 3 rds. I cant afford to miss this wave if it builds momentum.

Tommo09 · 04/05/2016 at 15:42

Fyfe to Smith and Weiters to Simpson $600k left
Fyfe to Hanners and Davis to Smith $300k left

    Kev · 04/05/2016 at 16:13

    tuxCS · 04/05/2016 at 16:28

#2 for me mate, the midfield is where the majority of points are made, dont lose all that potential on a downgrade like that, look at going weitering to simpson/shaw with that 300k next week.

GoHawks · 04/05/2016 at 16:09

Weitering to Shaw & Menadue to Smith

Thoughts please

    Kev · 04/05/2016 at 16:14

Sounds good. Seems like a popular for many coaches this week

      Phil · 04/05/2016 at 16:38

Why not go Menadue to Smith and Weitering to Shaw?

tuxCS · 04/05/2016 at 16:23

The people at the Herald Sun are absolutely clueless. In Marcus Adams player note it said that "[his] breakeven is getting very close to his average now, and it is time to look at moving him on". His average is 88 and hes BE is 58, He is also the last person (bar Daniel Wells) that you should be looking at moving on in your side. Most premo defenders are barely averaging above 90 anyway, I dont understand how these people are qualified to give advice on supercoach.

If buddy were to kick 10 goals against any side, it would most likely be essendon. I also don't think many other people are doing it, so why not, could be a good shark move.

I learnt last week, if you have performing midfielders (danger,Parker, etc) then go with them, I had goldy vc and Gawn c which burnt me big time, trust in your midfielders to get the job down and don't risk it

My premo backs, Shaw, Laird (benched) and Smith who will end up being my D6. I need to bring in another premo while Laird sits out his injury… Ranked 119 this round…
AMT to either Docherty or Houli?

Fall short for Simpson, Docherty more consistent and Houli goes big and small… Thoughts….

Agreed. The Houli roller coaster is hard to take this year.
    Docherty, for consistency.

(Now Houli is sure to ton up).

My team thus far if I bring in Smith & Cox wich will leave me with $416k in the warchest

Adams, Rich, AMT, Brown, Hartley, DBJ (Laird, Rance)
Danger, Hannerbery, Ward, GAJ, Wines, Libba, Kerridge, Mills (Davis, Smith, Dunkley)
Nic Nat, Goldy (Wyatt)
Hall, Wells, Barlow, Motlop, Rioli, Cox (Kennedy, Menadue)

I know my defence is thin this week as Rance & Laird are on my bench. Next week Menadue & Kennedy will most likely get upgraded.
