Paps and Top Deck out, Leks man Doc in with Hyphen
like. although be wary Sam could finish the year averaging 105-110. Don't chase last week's points. There are cheaper players who will finish higher in my opinion.
Solid mate, but when the paps poops a ton next round and his BE goes subterranean, you'll be crying in your milkshake like the other 10%. I'd hang on a round as theirs nothing to loose. NO BANG BANG
You will be the cryin mate if you hang onto Papley. His scores where in swans big wins. The swans team now is different to 4 weeks ago with some of there guns back. Papley will be lucky not to get dropped this week take the 120k and pick up a def rook on the bubble
Insane and makes no sense Foot's baller, Papley has a breakeven 62 – Granted his first two games were HUGE however his past 2 games have been a shocking 46 & 24.
If he scores another 40 odd his breakeven sky rockets to between 85 to 100 – I would hold him if Byrne-Jones wasn't on the bubble but the fact is we need to cash in and bring in these players, I personally didn't have JJ but the Pap smear to Byrne-Jones is a DONE deal for me this week. PERIOD.
Hear hear. It is the only trade I am making this week. Papley to make way for DBJ via dpp. And there is a mini trade within that trade as Tippa will now be forward and Adams and Brown in backline. Broken these 3 guys up from the backline.
Just a little warning about Sam Mitchell based on my experiences.
Will never play 22 games and will be rested near the end of the season (supercoach finals)
In games that hawks smash the opposition (especially near the end of the season), Mitchell will go sleep in the last quarter.
Same deal with Hodge, this is how the hawks deal with older players to keep them fresh for finals.
Thanks Pete and BlakeyP
The Eagles are a concern, however, the next 3 rounds after are Bris, Ess, Rich, BANG, BANG & BANG
Obviously, if he doesn't get selected anywhere in-between he's gone.
I'm trading Shezza direct for DBJ and keep my FOR-DEF DPPs at opposite ends of the ground for grater flexibility.
If there weren't so many players on the bubble this week, i would keep him. But DBJ seems to have better job security and, is looking like he will make a ton of cash after this weekend.
He's been a pretty consistent supercoach scorer for several years now that saying he's high priced at the moment because of a solid 2015 and start to the season.
Hall, Wells, Kerridge, BenKen, AMT, De Goey (Menadue, 102k rookie)
My trades I was thinking of were:
1. sheridan + cutler ———> Byrne-jones + Byrne this option leaves 500k in the bank but means i still have de goey and a weak DEF
2. sheridan + de goey ——–> DBJ + zorko leavs me with about 90-100k left in the bank my forward line will be stronger but means I have to play cutler d3
3. sheridan + T.adams ——-> DBJ + Fyfe 17k left in the bank it would mean my mids are basically full premo
4. Sheridan + De goey ——-> fantasia + Yeo/rich/suckling/savage/biggs this option leave me with little bank but my backs will be stronger
Cutler –> Byrne Jones, pocket the cash and build a war chest. Trading Sheridan/Adams/De Goey is unnecessary at this stage, you are in a strong position in terms of ranking and trades in hand…don't waste it; remember,
SuperCoach is a marathon, not a sprint.
thanks lads will be doing either cutler to DBJ and Sheridan to Zerret bank the 115k an hope De goey can pull out another big score so he goes up in price, if he spuds up will be able to upgrade
Yep no point trading crouch now, Just do Papley to DBJ for now.

Ben Kennedy breakeven of 56 and Mills breakeven of 20
This will most likely be the last cash rise for Ben Kennedy so I'm think next week upgrade him to ultra premo midfielder
"Breakevens"
You may need a new title – as given the content of many of your recent posts you don't seem to have a very good grasp of the how the breakevens work and fluctuate. Kennedy would only require a reasonable score of 80ish this week to see him in a strong position to generate significant $$ in the coming weeks. Once his 50 and 64 drop off his last 3 scores he has the potential to again appreciate in value again. All it would take is a couple of 80+ scores for Kennedy BE to again drop and him to make some more $$. I don't think it is impossible that Kennedy could go 80+ in the coming weeks. He is still getting plenty of the footy just needs to lift his DE for his scores to again increase.
The reason why i will never pick Daniel Rich in my supercoach side is because he can't handle a tag. He gets a couple of good damaging games together and then the opposition starts tagging him. Save yourself the headache and get a premium.
Solid team there Jedd, you don't need to trade anyone at this stage. Maybe Gresham needs to go for a bubble rookie if you want to get your M9 cash generation going.
if you were holding keays hoping he would get a game, i would be a little worried if he doesn't get picked this week. his form in the seconds has been very good but still hasn't been picked, in a team that has been missing rocky, Rich and Beams over the last few weeks.
Maitherson will be over his check injury soon and will be pushing for a spot, maybe when Keays gets to the bubble.
I don't have him but I would recommend Houli, Laird, Simpson, Gibson and Shaw as your targets. We don't know who you have right now so it's difficult to assist.
I guess it depends on his BE as well as possible downgrade targets. If his BE is below 90 and there are no obvious downgrade targets then there's no rush to burn a trade.
he is in my midfield so i will look to trade him into my forwards and upgrade a lower ranked rookie to a premo
will have to wait and see this monday thought
discussions about Ben Ken now are ultimately pointless

Community, I have 375K in the bank and am looking to make two trades this week:
Papley –> Byrne Jones (Via A. McDonald Titingwuiti DPP)
L. McCarthey –> Priddis/S. Mitchell/Gray
Firstly, could I have your thoughts on my trades and then which one of the premium midfielders you think I should buy…I currently have the Big 4: Fyfe, Danger, GAJ and Pendles in my midfield.
I feel like mitchell may be rested against lower tier opposition. Priddis and Gray are both fantastic players, either see which players bye rounds fit in with your team well or who has the easiest run home. If that doesn't do it for you then flip a coin.
Priddis has had a week off but Gray had a bad week
can you hold one more week before trading?

Hello Community,
I have a serious issue in the likes of Sammy Gray.
I want to trade him because i feel i that with his BE of 129, his current pricing and other premos pricing that this will be the last round i will be able to get a Zach Merrett or Buddy Franklin without trading off any value in another position (such as a improving rookie or a super premo) as i will have 100K spare after Papley to DBJ and am considering another trade instead.
On the other hand, after Geelong, the Power play the Tigers, Carlton, Brisbane, West Coast, Collingwood and Melbourne in that order and taking into consideration S.Gray kills it on games Port win and the fact that they play 5 weak teams in the next 7 games makes me feel that S.Gray could really lift his form and start producing.
So I guess my question to you, the Community is , do you think it is worth holding Gray and wait until he bleeds beyond saving in hope that he will redeem himself or will it be too late if i dont do the trade now?
you clearly selected him to be fwd keeper and his form is bad just give him some time and he will come good when port get back to playing good footy, just look at barlow started poor but pulled out 99 and 81 last 2 weeks
I've got the same problem, Adam. At his price there are no sideways options, so it will take a good 100-150k to turn him into a keeper (I have plenty of options as I have BK in my mids). Was leaning towards keep for the reasons you mentioned.
On the other hand, his contested numbers are way way down compared with his purple patch towards the end of last year. Wines was out injured when Gray hit form and his return has pushed Gray out of the coalface. Doesn't help that he butchers the footy either.
The next 4 rounds for port are Geelong, Richmond, Brisbane and Carlton.
They lost to those 4 teams last year. Hold at your own peril port are not mentally there at the moment not blaming the players only something is wrong.
S Gray very much on the chopping block this week but I want to see where he's named if on the ball I'd be tempted to roll the dice on him as Geelong still aren't great with clearances, he's completely irrelevant is he's not playing as a rover though.

Weekly internal dilemma this week is regarding short term pain for long term gain. I could trade out Grimley who i started with in my fwd for Cieran Byrne via Marcus Adams DPP, however after doing similar moves like this i would then have all three of Brown, Adams and Tippa Fwd and be left having to play one of Ruggles, Byrne-Jones & Byrne on the field.
Sitting in top 1% atm and am wanting to keep a high ranking but debating whether the long term cash generation would outweigh the point sacrifice for the next two rounds until i look to do some upgrading. Thoughts?
If Cox, consider switching cox forward if named, if not named administer trade into another fwd rookie or mid rookie (if you have a mid DDP) because you should keep a fwd/def as a loophole and you already have too many defensive rookies
Thanks mate. I'll definitely do the Papley trade this week, I think I'll need to either flip a coin or analyse the draw to decide the premium mid. Priddis will come down next week so I might as well just wait.

Extremely happy with my team so far. Don't want to change anything, however if Paps isn't named I will be trading him to Byrne Jones. Seen a few people posting saying Rance isn't a good selection. You don't trade in Rance because he scored 146 last week, you trade him in because he has averaged 88, 96, 97 last 3 years – proven premium defender. Doesn't matter that he is a key defender, SC scorers love the bloke.
Hey Mongrel, you can do it via the DPP trading strategy.
For this example i will be trading Papley to Bryne-Jones, and for this to work you MUST have a DEF/FWD DPP player in your backline, I'm going to assume you have AMT and i will use him in the example as well.
Step 1: Press the trade button on Papley.
Step 2: Once on the trade page, press the big "S" on whichever DPP player (AMT) you want to sub into your forward line.
Step 3: Now the only spot left in your team will be 1 in your backline. This enables you to trade in a defender.
Agree, it's not like Merrett is on a bubble and you'll miss out on a bargain. Can give Barlow another shot after two decent weeks.

Another great podcast once again boys,
Was hoping to get a bit of insight on some potential trades I have in mind (first year playing)
Ive got Top Deck and unfortunately he has to go, however Im not convinced on swapping him out for a Yeo, Houli etc. I already have Shaw, Laird and I think my rookies are good enough to hold their own for the moment.
What I was thinking was swapping out JJ for Bryne-Jones and then trading Hewett for a fallen premo in Sloane or JPK.
Ill hold onto Papley for a while longer because I think he may still have a little bit more growth left in him if he is named.
Thanks Derek! Out of both premos is there a better choice? I know JPK is a proven scorer but Im worried about the emergence of Mitchell and Parker affecting his score.
Whereas Sloane has been up and down, but now that Danger is gone, Sloane may be able to truly blossom into a top 10 midfielder.
i have JPK ranked higher than Sloane in my top 10. Sloane i have targeted for the run home at the end of the season when crows draw looks beautiful. JPK by a whisker.
In No Particular order
1 Danger
2 R.Gray
3 Ablett (as long as he doesnt get injured)
4 Fyfe
5 Hannebery
6 Ward
7 Priddis
8 Parker
9 Mitchell
10 Pendlebury
No chance Derek. How you can say Ward and Parker won't finish in the T10 is beyond me. Ward just missed out last year and has started even better this year. Parker looks back to his old self after an injury interrupted 2015. In saying that, I actually like the Sloane selection. Good price, definitely a POD and as you pointed out, his avg scoring against the teams in their last 8-10 games or so is impressive. Would be an option if looking for a mid around the byes IMO.
None of the PODs will be reliable scorers. Either jump on Zerrett now while his price is low-ish (compared to the others), or wait for one of the other 3's price to drop
Of the PODs I think Lynch is the most likely to go 105, he is a star but will need GC to have a good year and they've already got big issues in defence.
I'm still not convinced on Merrett just yet reckon teams you will be down the bottom of the ladder or scraping for 7th-10th spots will start giving him attention also he's 20 and it's a long season, so like the top 3 FWDs you emtnioned more but all over priced, Dusty will be close to 500K in 2weeks maybe wait till then and fix up other areas.
I like the look of Robinson, only played 3 quarters round 1 and still got 70 odd, but Lynch does look good too

Just listened to the almighty podcast, interesting to hear Jock and Higgo advise us not to trade Papley, he does have the bombers and lions coming up….but if we took the risk and held him for 1-2 more weeks…there might not be any bubble boys, at the moment we have DBJ, Byrne, Wagner and Ruggles on the bubble…
It is a mistake to assume that playing Essendon will equate to high SC scores. Last week, Essendon outscored Geelong on disposals, clearances and contested possessions. They have a clear plan to deny the opposition the ball and this means Essendon players will continue to score well and opposition players will continue to disappoint.
As for Papley, the Swans may well be playing Essendon but I suspect he won't be!
I already have Laird, and at this stage, I am looking at Docherty for my next defensive upgrade. That will not solve your problem in choosing which player right now. But at the moment Docherty is cheaper, so why not start with him?
A – downgrade JJ straight to Bryne Jones and upgrade papley with the cash, leaving my forward line with (at this stage) 2 keepers (Hall and whoever i trade in (cant argue with hall, keeps this up, 100% keeper)) and 4 rookies, same with my backline
or
B – trade papley and JJ, swing Adams forward and bring in Rance/Docherty and Bryne Jones, leaving my forward line still "Weak/Slim" and my backline the same (3 keepers, 3 rookies)
If you have one of McTip/Adams/MBrown in def (and you should) trade Papley and click the S next to one of those blokes. It moves them forward and allows you to bring in a defender
Thanks for the tip lekdog and all the work you do for the community.
I'm having trouble tho
How do I trade Papley out without having to bring in a fwd. I'm unable to go back to the team page to sub brown once I hit the trade button on Papley. It says I can't have an incomplete trade.
I must be missing something.
Really depends on your structure but can't go wrong with either
Merrett will produce bigger scores and generate cash in the short term but Laird is a set and forget player
Toss a coin
based on that comment it applys the same to Merrett
Zorko is proven for many years and low risk of injury
If were discussing "keeping up scoring all season" then you contradicted yourself by saying Merrett as there is no proof that Merrett will continue to score this highly. Looking at his stats it shows he is more unlikely to continue to score highly and has never averaged close to 100
Players will breakout at a certain time of their career. Zorko is different because he came in as a mature age player and was ready to go. He doesn't seem to be increasing his scores over a 100 average.
Zerrett has come in as a rookie kid, and significantly increased his scoring over the last two seasons, so it's harder to gauge what his ceiling is.
Of course Zorko is a proven reliable scorer and Zerret is a risk, but people want to take risks to lock in a breakout player that could make a big difference in their team.
I've done my research on Zerrett's scoring and it's actually very impressive and consistent.
I hope your correct, but in that Essendon team, i cannot see these players keeping it up all season. They are busting their arse now but as the season wears on they would be defying the odds (Doing a Gary Ablett) to keep up this scoring
If you started with the Bomber boys then good work. Very Buryn maneuver. Once they hit their peak you would want to trade out
Mark my words Zerret and Zaha will drop off and it will get ugly
It's a big risk to get any of the essendon mob that's for sure, I've got Zaha and he's going nicely ranked 8 in the comp and only cost me 415k.
Zerrett at the price he is now is a different risk altogether though, but the forward line only has so many options for high scorers that aren't tall forwards.
I know the feeling! Bloody spuds on the bench, injuries etc etc. Just want them fixed to get back in the game. But using up 5 this week means 17% of your yearly trades are used in one round. 1 round merely represents 4.3% of the season. Kinda puts things in perspective. It's a game of chess this Supercoach caper.
The Inner Sanctum says HOLD but idk. Unfortunately Sauce has some form or history here when he was rubbish back in 2013. Again the company line back then was 'hold' but essentially he cost their owners about 500pts over the course of the season when compared to the other ruck top liners. Coaches have traded for a lot less than 500pts worth.
Of course every year is different so will he continue to be garbage is the great unknown but at some point I think many Sauce owners will cut their losses and move on. There are no easy answers here so it will be gamble either way whether you trade or hold.
If he could just punch out that one huge score like Goldy, NicNat and Gawn have already done it would go a long way to getting that average back on track.
At least his last two weeks have been better than his first two but he's certainly been a disappointment and a source of frustration thus far.

I am trading Johannisen and George Hewett out this week. I will bring in Byrne-Jones but I am undecided whether to bring in a premium in defence or in the midfield. I can afford anyone and I am throwing up between Laird in defence and Mitchell/Danger in the midfield. Who should I bring in? Currently ranked 950th.
I don't think Suckling is a burn man, with JJ and Murph gone for a lengthy period, suckling will use his weapon left peg and he doesn't mind a snag. He was recruited for a reason, to get the pill and use it well.
I don't think he is either, which is why I said potential. What I more meant is you may end up with two guys that aren't top defenders and just average in the 80 area. Waste of space.
it depends who you are trading for him it is someone like jj i wouldn't but if it is a failed mid pricer i think he is a very good shout avg 91 low score of 86 has a low be so can make $$ and has a secure spot in the bombers best 22
Not for me although I understand the appeal. Frankly our rookie defenders have been going well enough this season that you may as well go with a rookie bubble boy instead and spend the other $200K saved on Fantasia elsewhere.
Will he keep that 91 average up perhaps not although he may not turn out to be a bad pick. I just think there are better ways to go myself. So many midpriced defenders haven't worked out like Sheridan, Lonergan, McGovern, Harwood etc that I wouldn't be bending over backwards to get another one in, even one who is in pretty good form right now – a week is a long time in footy or so goes the cliche.
Either rookies or super premos like Shaw, Laird, Rance are the way to go in defence from here in my view.
Unless he plays well all year and is a keeper, but I don't see it.
He'll end up a 400-450k player that needs trading out again.

Structure dilema!
I haven't any DPP mid/fwd in my midfield
So can't swing any of my DPP forwards!
Should I upgrade Hewett to Ward??
Or open my swing ability and get zorko
Or Merrett?
Unfortunately might have to hang on to Papsmear
Due to this problem… Arghh

JJ to DBJ, s.gray to r.gray by dpp? leaves me with tommy sheridan at D3 :O
Im 33, 000 but not that it's much different. Went for a totally different theory this year, have some fun and go for maximum growth but still try to make finals.
Thanks I will need luck but it's looking good so far.
Paps and Top Deck out, Leks man Doc in with Hyphen
my exact plan
I LIKE IT!
cockatoo or byrne/byrne-jones/wagner
Byrne-Jones
Both byrnes if you want two.
Hi community,
appreciate your feedback on the below:
GOOD move or BAD move?
Papley – OUT

Just a terrible move
Fantastic fellas! #BangBang

Johannisen for Laird or Rance ?
I prefer Laird, however more people have him than Rance, so if you're looking for a slight POD then go for Rance.
Ownage about the same Laird is owned by 16% and rance is own by 15% so neither are a POD. With that just pick the one you like most. I like laird
Seen this mentioned a couple of times, really strange people say it because the % of team ownership is on supercoach.
Laird, Rance is a key defender who makes too many clangers and thanks to one massive score everyone is jumping on the wagon
He's been a pretty consistent supercoach scorer for several years now that saying he's high priced at the moment because of a solid 2015 and start to the season.
He's made 1 clanger, 2 clangers twice and then had one game with 6 clangers. I wouldn't say too many clangers is an accurate description.
Rance
absolute contested BEAST
hello community this is my team. I have 96k in the bank, ranked 6000 and 28 trades in the bank
Houli, Laird, Adams, Weitering, Dea, Sheridan (Cutler, Ruggles)
Dangerfield, Ablett, Hannebery, Priddis, Gray, Shiel, Taylor Adams, Parish (Davis, Hewett, Gresham)
Gawn, Nic Nat (Lorench)
Hall, Wells, Kerridge, BenKen, AMT, De Goey (Menadue, 102k rookie)
My trades I was thinking of were:

4. Sheridan + De goey ——-> fantasia + Yeo/rich/suckling/savage/biggs this option leave me with little bank but my backs will be stronger
5. Any other suggestions community
Sheridan + Cutler —> Byrne-Jones, Z Merrett/Franklin/Zorko
swing AMT into def and play him on field
Cutler –> Byrne Jones, pocket the cash and build a war chest. Trading Sheridan/Adams/De Goey is unnecessary at this stage, you are in a strong position in terms of ranking and trades in hand…don't waste it; remember,
SuperCoach is a marathon, not a sprint.
thanks lads will be doing either cutler to DBJ and Sheridan to Zerret bank the 115k an hope De goey can pull out another big score so he goes up in price, if he spuds up will be able to upgrade
you hate sheridan huh haha.
freo play carlton this week.
sheridan could score quite well
Papley –> Z Merrett
Crouch –> Byrne-Jones
which crouch
If that's Brad Crouch – good trade, Matthew Crouch – unnecessary trade.
rumours circulating that brad crouch can be back this week
hold and wait
even if not selected this week, hold still
i know they are doing well but avoid these bombers players
u missed them
dont be a dog, chasing a car
the reason you didnt already have Merrett in your team is the same reason you should avoid
Yep no point trading crouch now, Just do Papley to DBJ for now.
Ben Kennedy breakeven of 56 and Mills breakeven of 20
This will most likely be the last cash rise for Ben Kennedy so I'm think next week upgrade him to ultra premo midfielder
It only takes one good game for Kennedy's BE to drop again. Hold.
Next week and the earliest for kennedy trade. He will at least hit his BE and give him a chance to get another big one to start cash generation again
"Breakevens"
You may need a new title – as given the content of many of your recent posts you don't seem to have a very good grasp of the how the breakevens work and fluctuate. see what score Kennedy gets this week then decide
if he gets 100 you wont be trading so this question is pointless
I kept daniel rich because I'm a weapon.
good form
Great disciple there mate. And it paid off!
Averaging 85. Weapon.
the Rich haters have been very quiet this week
The reason why i will never pick Daniel Rich in my supercoach side is because he can't handle a tag. He gets a couple of good damaging games together and then the opposition starts tagging him. Save yourself the headache and get a premium.
Yep, never been a proven premo, only time to get him is if under priced ie 300k and use as a stepping stone.
His price this year was in line with his whole career as a footballer.
I haven't been quiet, as you can see by my above comment sarcastically calling him a weapon.
Hasn't made any profit, isn't a keeper and Rocky about to come back and take his mid time.
Disagree… Name the blokes you'll have in front of him by seasons end??
Rance, Houli, Laird, Simpson, Gibson, Docherty, Shaw, Biggs, Suckling, Burgoyne, Birchall, Smith, Enright, Bartel. Probably more too.
Even possibly Adams and Weitering.
Rich has averaged 85 or less since 2009. Except had one year of 90 average in 2012.
Averaged 80 over 2014/2015 not sure why people rate him it's a joke.
Yeo and even Dea!
is this the weapon I know?
same bro
#yearoftherich
I held Rocky! Welcome back weapon.
Thoughts on my team community
Shaw, Laird, Sherridan, Weitering, Adams, Dea (Brown, Hartly)
Fyfe, Dangerfield, Priddis, Pendlebury, Gray, Libba, Mills, Kerridge ( Gresham, Davis, Keyes)
Nic Nat, Gawn (Grimely)
Barlow, Martin, Hall, Kennedy, Wells, Tippa (Menadue, Papley)
What do you reccomend I do?
Lineup looks very settled
You don't have top deck so hold your trades this round
Solid team there Jedd, you don't need to trade anyone at this stage. Maybe Gresham needs to go for a bubble rookie if you want to get your M9 cash generation going.
if you were holding keays hoping he would get a game, i would be a little worried if he doesn't get picked this week. his form in the seconds has been very good but still hasn't been picked, in a team that has been missing rocky, Rich and Beams over the last few weeks.
Maitherson will be over his check injury soon and will be pushing for a spot, maybe when Keays gets to the bubble.
Papsmear out
Sherridan out
What about Sheridan for DBJ? Shezza has not been what I hoped for. Downtrade as crouching one says
Welcome
Who is the communities replacement for johannison in the backline, comment who you bringing in
I don't have him but I would recommend Houli, Laird, Simpson, Gibson and Shaw as your targets. We don't know who you have right now so it's difficult to assist.
I'd take Docherty over Houli in a heartbeat, consistent, and has a higher total score for the season than Houli but is 50k cheaper.
Pretty open question as depends n everyone's individual team. Some will downgrade, some will upgrade, some will look for value and sideways.
bryne-jones
Heath Shaw if you have the cash
Z.Dawson
Docherty
Wrong
So regarding BenKen, if he gets another 60-80 next week, do we hold him for one more and hope that he gets a ton? We know he's capable.
I guess it depends on his BE as well as possible downgrade targets. If his BE is below 90 and there are no obvious downgrade targets then there's no rush to burn a trade.
I just hope Petracca starts to play soon…
Yep his BE is 56, even if he gets a 40 he won't bleed much and better to have given him a chance than to trade him out and regret it later.
the old heads of supercoach always keep rookies until their BE is greater than there average.
are you getting any of the bubble boys this week Derek? If so who are you trading out?
Only if Paps not named. Otherwise holding
Seem to have enough defence rookies
I'm keeping him til for this round and next, then trading him to a premo mid in round 7
HOLD imo
he is in my midfield so i will look to trade him into my forwards and upgrade a lower ranked rookie to a premo
will have to wait and see this monday thought
discussions about Ben Ken now are ultimately pointless
Community, I have 375K in the bank and am looking to make two trades this week:
Papley –> Byrne Jones (Via A. McDonald Titingwuiti DPP)
L. McCarthey –> Priddis/S. Mitchell/Gray
Firstly, could I have your thoughts on my trades and then which one of the premium midfielders you think I should buy…I currently have the Big 4: Fyfe, Danger, GAJ and Pendles in my midfield.
Thanks in advance.
I feel like mitchell may be rested against lower tier opposition. Priddis and Gray are both fantastic players, either see which players bye rounds fit in with your team well or who has the easiest run home. If that doesn't do it for you then flip a coin.
Thanks tuxCS, I hadn't thought about Mitch being rested so thanks especially for that.
Just wondering….should Mat Priddis be head or tail? 🙂
Go for tails there mate 😉
Don't get SMitchell. Missed the boat and he plays for the hawks. will be rested.
Priddis and Gray both very good selections, however you will be able to get both cheaper in a week or two. i would wait.
Thanks in advance
AS Patch said, Z.Merrett is the real deal this season, get rid of the stress and trade sam gray out for him.
you clearly selected him to be fwd keeper and his form is bad just give him some time and he will come good when port get back to playing good footy, just look at barlow started poor but pulled out 99 and 81 last 2 weeks
Still on the fence with this one!
The next 4 rounds for port are Geelong, Richmond, Brisbane and Carlton.
They lost to those 4 teams last year. Hold at your own peril port are not mentally there at the moment not blaming the players only something is wrong.
This x2 Port are off, they didn't even put up a Yelp last week. I'm turning him to Merret.
Okay Community, i have decided that i have three options for the Sammy Gray Dilemma
Option 1 Gray to Lyons (Downgrade) or Merrett (Upgrade), Papley to Bryne Jones
Kitty 1.5K for upgrade, 289K for downgrade
Option 2 Gray to Fwd Premo (Merrett) or Mid Super Premo (Ablett/Hannebery/Mitchell), Lonergan to Byrne Jones
Option 3 Hold Gray Papley to Byrne jones (via Adams)
Kitty 109K
So Community, which option do you think is the best?
Liking option one assuming Papley not named. Even if named I'm inclined to boot him, looks out of his depth.
I took the risk with Lyons but it could backfire who knows.
He is predicted to go up 37k though with only a projected score of 50, so could be a good stepping stone if it works out.
what about Lyons Job security?
I thought someone was injured for him
Crouch came out of the team with a hammy injury.
Hard to say who's going to be dropped as Lyons had a great game vs richmond the week before and an ok one vs the swans.
Atkins is likely to be fighting with lyons for a spot and he had a poor game vs richmond but a good one last week.
This is why the Jarryd Lyons pick could backfire.
Anybody know how long Crouch is out for
Could return this week.
Sam Gray has never been a premo
not sure why so many got on the bandwagon but you need to be rid of him
avoid the essendon players
Imo he's a premo forward if played on the ball and not even an AFL standard player if played elsewhere.
Thoughts?
How many trades have you used?
Used 5 atm
who is your ruck reserve?
If Cox, consider switching cox forward if named, if not named administer trade into another fwd rookie or mid rookie (if you have a mid DDP) because you should keep a fwd/def as a loophole and you already have too many defensive rookies
have you tried doing the trade using a mid/fwd and then a def/mid swing?
don't mind the trades i would personally keep paps but if you don't think he can make much more it's a good trade
out of the three premo's i would go smitch or you could get a POD in ward, or wait a week or to to get priddis who has a be of 160
Thanks mate.
I agree 100% with you there Marco.
he is now only $17k cheaper than Heath Shaw. I know who i would get
I'd get Shaw over him too, just defending rance
Hey Marco how do you trade Papley for Byrne-Jones. ?
Hey Mongrel, you can do it via the DPP trading strategy.
For this example i will be trading Papley to Bryne-Jones, and for this to work you MUST have a DEF/FWD DPP player in your backline, I'm going to assume you have AMT and i will use him in the example as well.
Step 1: Press the trade button on Papley.
Step 2: Once on the trade page, press the big "S" on whichever DPP player (AMT) you want to sub into your forward line.
Step 3: Now the only spot left in your team will be 1 in your backline. This enables you to trade in a defender.
Rance is a great pick, i would get him for sure
Thoughts on my team community
Def: Shaw, Laird, Bartel, Weitering, Dea, Adams (AMT, Brown)
Mid: Dangerfield, Ablett, Pendlebury, Parker, Wines, Libba, Mills, Kennedy (Gresham, Hewett, Davis)
Ruc: Martin, Nic Nat (Loersch)
Fwd: Martin, Barlow, Hall, Wells, Kerridge, Papley (Menadue, McCarthy)
Have 36k in bank and 28 trades left and don't know what to do? Might downgrade Papley to Byrne Jones and Barlow to Z Merrett.
First trade yes. Second trade no
Agree, it's not like Merrett is on a bubble and you'll miss out on a bargain.
Any feedback would be appreciated!
you are wise beyond your years (of playing) Paul!
Almost brought a tear to my eye looking at those beautiful trades!
Thoughts?
i have JPK ranked higher than Sloane in my top 10. Sloane i have targeted for the run home at the end of the season when crows draw looks beautiful. JPK by a whisker.
Thanks again Derek!
Derek, who do you suppose will be 10 mids.
I see neither JPK or SLoane in My Top 10
In No Particular order
1 Danger
2 R.Gray
3 Ablett (as long as he doesnt get injured)
4 Fyfe
5 Hannebery
6 Ward
7 Priddis
8 Parker
9 Mitchell
10 Pendlebury
Pretty much agree with that top ten at the moment.
There's probably a couple of smokies that could get in but doubt it will be JPK or Sloane.
Replace ward with Selwood, Parker with JPK and replace Mitchell with Sloane or Rocky
Living in the past maybe? No offense Derek.
i agree
WARD is the real deal
I like the Sloan pick
do that
Sorry About this but i have another Question which promo FWD should i Bring in this week
Montagna
dahlhaus
Zorko
Merret
or POD's in
T.Lynch
Betts
Waite
Montag had a huge game against the struggling pies, not sure if he's actually worth the 600k honestly.
Dahlhaus I like. Probably paying a lot for him, could go down later in the season…….maybe.
Zorko has started really well, only averaged 100 last year so will he keep it up?
Merret only 20 years old but seems to be proving the doubters wrong. gets more of the ball than Dahlhaus and Zorko.
Your POD's could go up and down as forwards do. Crows and North look to be having a good 2016 though so they could be good picks.
so who would you get
Probably Merret or Dahlhaus.
Merrett or Zorko for me.
any of the top 4 are good. just wait for them to become cheaper.
Thoughts on this conundrum community??
It is a mistake to assume that playing Essendon will equate to high SC scores. Last week, Essendon outscored Geelong on disposals, clearances and contested possessions. They have a clear plan to deny the opposition the ball and this means Essendon players will continue to score well and opposition players will continue to disappoint.
As for Papley, the Swans may well be playing Essendon but I suspect he won't be!
Agree 100%.
there will be more bubble boys, and better than this crop in my opinion. All these choices are defenders, traditionally poor cash generators.
wait for the Midfielders, the likes of Petracca, Maitherson, Freeman, Hiscox, Lovell, Hopper, Menagola, to get games in a few weeks.
whynotboth.jpeg
Lack of trades
Papsmear GONE
Docherty or Laird for JJ and why? Leaning towards Laird atm because I feel his more consistent and gives you consistent 90-100+ scores each week.
I already have Laird, and at this stage, I am looking at Docherty for my next defensive upgrade. That will not solve your problem in choosing which player right now. But at the moment Docherty is cheaper, so why not start with him?
Laird for the reason you said
Hi community, do i bring in byrne jones or wagner or ciaran byrne for papley? thx
1 B-J
2 B
3 W
i have a "weak"/'slim" forward line would here is my predicament
Backs – Shaw, Laird, JJ, Weitering, Adams, Dea (brown ruggles)
forwards – Hall, Wells, Papley, Kerridge, BenKen, AWT (Menadue, Cox)
now, im looking to trade Papley and JJ
do i
A – downgrade JJ straight to Bryne Jones and upgrade papley with the cash, leaving my forward line with (at this stage) 2 keepers (Hall and whoever i trade in (cant argue with hall, keeps this up, 100% keeper)) and 4 rookies, same with my backline
or
B – trade papley and JJ, swing Adams forward and bring in Rance/Docherty and Bryne Jones, leaving my forward line still "Weak/Slim" and my backline the same (3 keepers, 3 rookies)
It seems to work out about the same, because either way you are going to be running AMT or Menadue in F6.
The only difference will be a Keeper vs Adams in either the Back or forward line.
Who would you rather lock in right now? A Merret/Zorko/Dahlhaus type or a Docherty/Rance.
My advice Lock the Doch. Great POD in only 3% of teams.
i like A but also i dont think Wells is far off a keeper in the FWD
A lot of posts are saying they are going to trade Papley for Byrne Jones. How is that possible as neither are dpp
If you have one of McTip/Adams/MBrown in def (and you should) trade Papley and click the S next to one of those blokes. It moves them forward and allows you to bring in a defender
Thanks guys didn't know that was possible.
Papley out> sub Brown, Adams or McDonald-Tipungwuti forward>trade in Byrne-Jones
Hey mate, the S will be next to your DPP player on the trade screen under the TRADE OUT OF MY TEAM heading
Thanks mate. Finally found that bloody S button. Cheer's
How long has this been going on for.. It's a great loophole
JJ – Ben Kennedy out
Fyfe – Biggs in
fingers crossed
Reasoning for trading out BK?
Just remember ben ken has a BE of 56 and has doubled that BE in 50% of his games.
That was against essendon and GWS when he peaked, not sure he can do it again
The top ups aren't as bad as people think (As melbourne found out) and GWS are a very competitive side.
They played a crap collingwood last week and he didn't score well but I just think he didn't have the best day, it can happen.
He's a good chance of making 80+ in any game I reckon.
???
Obviously looking to trade Johannisen. Question: If you guys had the money and you were looking to upgrade, would you go to Laird or Merret?
Both solid. Which line is weaker forward or back? Depends on what rookies you'd have to play for either option.
Really depends on your structure but can't go wrong with either
Merrett will produce bigger scores and generate cash in the short term but Laird is a set and forget player
Toss a coin
Laird, more likely to score well for the rest of the season
I reckon they'll average similar but Laird as a keeper in defence and Merrett maybe just off keeper status up forward.
cheers fellas, yeah I like the consistency of Laird. Rarely drops to bad games, think I'll get him. Plus, he is $15k cheaper
JJ to biggs or burgoyne
Zorko or zach merrett to trade in this week?
Zach Merrett
Merrett, Zorko is way over priced and won't keep up that scoring all season
explain why he wont?
2012 16 100.0
2013 22 82.9
2014 21 99.0
2015 22 100.6
2016 3 125.3
hard to argue with stats like that??
Looks like he's over performing and his usual average is 100.
based on that comment it applys the same to Merrett
Zorko is proven for many years and low risk of injury
If were discussing "keeping up scoring all season" then you contradicted yourself by saying Merrett as there is no proof that Merrett will continue to score this highly. Looking at his stats it shows he is more unlikely to continue to score highly and has never averaged close to 100
2014 19 63.7
2015 17 88.5
2016 4 116.8
do your research mate
But you're missing one key piece of information.
These players are NOT GAJ
It's a big risk to get any of the essendon mob that's for sure, I've got Zaha and he's going nicely ranked 8 in the comp and only cost me 415k.
Zerrett at the price he is now is a different risk altogether though, but the forward line only has so many options for high scorers that aren't tall forwards.
And Zerrett has averaged close to 100, last year with 88.
Now with players gone at the bombers he gets 100% midfield time and this has obviously resulted in much higher scores.
He may not be able to keep it up who knows.
Beams, Rockliff are coming back should average around 100, don't expect 100s every game though. Should be able to pick him up under 500k
Zorko
Shame we only have 2 trades this week. I'd love 5
Cheers
You me and 20,000 others lol. Gd luck!
what do i do with sam jacobs.
he has been terrible this year going down 74k
Even if he hit a 200 though, it might affect his average but his week to week scores just aren't good enough.
Currently ranked 950th.
danger
Hewett had a good week in the ressies
wait and see
Danger, feel he will go well at Adelaide Oval vs Port this week. Not only that obviously I am thinking he will have a big year.
What trades should I make?
Shaw, Laird, Rich, Weitering, Dea, Adams, Tippa, Brown
Fyfe, Danger, Ablett, Pendles, Gray, Libba, Mills, Kerridge, Menadue, Davis, Hewett
Goldstein, Martin, Wyatt
Hall, Barlow, De Goey, Wells, Kennedy, McCarthy, Petracca, Papley
Thinking Papley and De Goey for Byrne-Jones and Suckling?
How much money do you have?
If you have enough for a better premo, Go after SHAW,RANCE, DOCHERTY, RICH, MERRETT,MARTIN if you have the money
if not, Suckling is a good option and is a proven scorer but wont make top 6 in DEF or FWD
only 4k in the bank mate. Already got Shaw and Rich.
Nope then you'll have rich and suckling two potential burn men.
Waste of space.
fair call, but handy dpp status for d7/f7 by years end
True.
Orazio Fantasia ? Yes or No
it depends who you are trading for him it is someone like jj i wouldn't but if it is a failed mid pricer i think he is a very good shout avg 91 low score of 86 has a low be so can make $$ and has a secure spot in the bombers best 22
Agree.
However you do it- rid your self of Sheridan. Such a mid priced trap. Upgrade fully or downgrade fully- nothing inbetween now my friend.
He is a trap but if your team has more pressing matters he can stagnate a while before acting on.
Correct my SC friend- but you and I don't know that make up from that post- trade Sheridian!!!!
Well I know they have JJ (10 weeks) and the trainwreck that is Sam Gray!
Train wreck that's got way more potential then Sheridan- lol- where are you ranked??
They've scored the same total for the season, yet one was 350k the other was 480k. Sheridan also had a small injury in one of his games.
I'm not going for overall rank this year as I went into round one with a pile of rookies and 750k in the bank.
Still in the top 15% with 850k in the bank last round. Chugging along happily exactly where I want to be with plenty of profit and league wins.
Cool story
You got a man crush on Sam Gray or something?
Lol- youth
bants with the lads
Says the guy who said 'cool story'
Gold.
Well you hold onto Sam 'Hindenburg' Gray. Burn man award for 2016 right there.
I'm ranked 500 not 38,000 (top 15% lol)- I don't have him…..
good luck with your 22 rookies and plenty of cash sort of season
Im 33, 000 but not that it's much different. Went for a totally different theory this year, have some fun and go for maximum growth but still try to make finals.
Thanks I will need luck but it's looking good so far.
