Paps and Top Deck out, Leks man Doc in with Hyphen

    I LIKE IT!

cockatoo or byrne/byrne-jones/wagner

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 17:08

Both byrnes if you want two.

Kang Van Der Bang · 19/04/2016 at 15:59

Hi community,

appreciate your feedback on the below:

GOOD move or BAD move?

Papley – OUT
Johannisen – OUT

S.Mitchell – IN
Darcy BJ – IN

    Chill · 19/04/2016 at 16:05

like. although be wary Sam could finish the year averaging 105-110. Don't chase last week's points. There are cheaper players who will finish higher in my opinion.

    Foot's ballers · 19/04/2016 at 16:10

Solid mate, but when the paps poops a ton next round and his BE goes subterranean, you'll be crying in your milkshake like the other 10%. I'd hang on a round as theirs nothing to loose. NO BANG BANG

      BlakeyP · 19/04/2016 at 16:21

You will be the cryin mate if you hang onto Papley. His scores where in swans big wins. The swans team now is different to 4 weeks ago with some of there guns back. Papley will be lucky not to get dropped this week take the 120k and pick up a def rook on the bubble

      Pete · 19/04/2016 at 17:43

Insane and makes no sense Foot's baller, Papley has a breakeven 62 – Granted his first two games were HUGE however his past 2 games have been a shocking 46 & 24.

If he scores another 40 odd his breakeven sky rockets to between 85 to 100 – I would hold him if Byrne-Jones wasn't on the bubble but the fact is we need to cash in and bring in these players, I personally didn't have JJ but the Pap smear to Byrne-Jones is a DONE deal for me this week. PERIOD.

        Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 19:06

He wasn't up to it in a high intensity game against an in form adelaide. He's still young and will come good over time no doubt.

This week it's WCE. Goodbye for now paps.

        Tophawk · 19/04/2016 at 19:30

Hear hear. It is the only trade I am making this week. Papley to make way for DBJ via dpp. And there is a mini trade within that trade as Tippa will now be forward and Adams and Brown in backline. Broken these 3 guys up from the backline.

          JamiesNinjas13 · 20/04/2016 at 09:52

Just a little warning about Sam Mitchell based on my experiences.
Will never play 22 games and will be rested near the end of the season (supercoach finals)
In games that hawks smash the opposition (especially near the end of the season), Mitchell will go sleep in the last quarter.
Same deal with Hodge, this is how the hawks deal with older players to keep them fresh for finals.

        Foot's ballers · 20/04/2016 at 11:20

        Thanks Pete and BlakeyP
The Eagles are a concern, however, the next 3 rounds after are Bris, Ess, Rich, BANG, BANG & BANG
Obviously, if he doesn't get selected anywhere in-between he's gone.

I'm trading Shezza direct for DBJ and keep my FOR-DEF DPPs at opposite ends of the ground for grater flexibility.

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:01

you want a premo who is on the down, not one that has reached max price

    reconsider on Mitchell

    Tommy · 20/04/2016 at 10:25

If there weren't so many players on the bubble this week, i would keep him. But DBJ seems to have better job security and, is looking like he will make a ton of cash after this weekend.

    Luke · 22/04/2016 at 17:52

    Just a terrible move

Jacko · 19/04/2016 at 16:00

Koovie · 19/04/2016 at 16:02

Johannisen for Laird or Rance ?

    tuxCS · 19/04/2016 at 16:13

I prefer Laird, however more people have him than Rance, so if you're looking for a slight POD then go for Rance.

      BlakeyP · 19/04/2016 at 16:26

Ownage about the same Laird is owned by 16% and rance is own by 15% so neither are a POD. With that just pick the one you like most. I like laird

      Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 17:33

Seen this mentioned a couple of times, really strange people say it because the % of team ownership is on supercoach.

    breakevens · 19/04/2016 at 16:20

Laird, Rance is a key defender who makes too many clangers and thanks to one massive score everyone is jumping on the wagon

      Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 16:56

He's been a pretty consistent supercoach scorer for several years now that saying he's high priced at the moment because of a solid 2015 and start to the season.

      Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 17:43

He's made 1 clanger, 2 clangers twice and then had one game with 6 clangers. I wouldn't say too many clangers is an accurate description.

    absolute contested BEAST

@winterjames5 · 19/04/2016 at 16:06

hello community this is my team. I have 96k in the bank, ranked 6000 and 28 trades in the bank

Houli, Laird, Adams, Weitering, Dea, Sheridan (Cutler, Ruggles)

Dangerfield, Ablett, Hannebery, Priddis, Gray, Shiel, Taylor Adams, Parish (Davis, Hewett, Gresham)

Gawn, Nic Nat (Lorench)

Hall, Wells, Kerridge, BenKen, AMT, De Goey (Menadue, 102k rookie)

My trades I was thinking of were:
1. sheridan + cutler ———> Byrne-jones + Byrne this option leaves 500k in the bank but means i still have de goey and a weak DEF

2. sheridan + de goey ——–> DBJ + zorko leavs me with about 90-100k left in the bank my forward line will be stronger but means I have to play cutler d3

3. sheridan + T.adams ——-> DBJ + Fyfe 17k left in the bank it would mean my mids are basically full premo

4. Sheridan + De goey ——-> fantasia + Yeo/rich/suckling/savage/biggs this option leave me with little bank but my backs will be stronger

5. Any other suggestions community

    Average Joe · 19/04/2016 at 16:12

    Sheridan + Cutler —> Byrne-Jones, Z Merrett/Franklin/Zorko

swing AMT into def and play him on field

    Pinidu · 19/04/2016 at 16:50

Cutler –> Byrne Jones, pocket the cash and build a war chest. Trading Sheridan/Adams/De Goey is unnecessary at this stage, you are in a strong position in terms of ranking and trades in hand…don't waste it; remember,
SuperCoach is a marathon, not a sprint.

      @winterjames5 · 19/04/2016 at 16:58

thanks lads will be doing either cutler to DBJ and Sheridan to Zerret bank the 115k an hope De goey can pull out another big score so he goes up in price, if he spuds up will be able to upgrade

    matt · 19/04/2016 at 21:29

    you hate sheridan huh haha.
    freo play carlton this week.
    sheridan could score quite well

Average Joe · 19/04/2016 at 16:08

Papley –> Z Merrett
Crouch –> Byrne-Jones

    @winterjames5 · 19/04/2016 at 16:25

    which crouch

    Pinidu · 19/04/2016 at 16:43

If that's Brad Crouch – good trade, Matthew Crouch – unnecessary trade.

    Boltons Blues · 19/04/2016 at 17:31

rumours circulating that brad crouch can be back this week
    hold and wait
even if not selected this week, hold still

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:02

i know they are doing well but avoid these bombers players

    u missed them

dont be a dog, chasing a car

the reason you didnt already have Merrett in your team is the same reason you should avoid

    Lachie · 20/04/2016 at 12:13

    bit late on zerrett there

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:48

Yep no point trading crouch now, Just do Papley to DBJ for now.

breakevens · 19/04/2016 at 16:08

Ben Kennedy breakeven of 56 and Mills breakeven of 20
This will most likely be the last cash rise for Ben Kennedy so I'm think next week upgrade him to ultra premo midfielder

    Mac · 19/04/2016 at 16:16

It only takes one good game for Kennedy's BE to drop again. Hold.

    BlakeyP · 19/04/2016 at 16:29

Next week and the earliest for kennedy trade. He will at least hit his BE and give him a chance to get another big one to start cash generation again

    Rooster · 19/04/2016 at 16:45

You may need a new title – as given the content of many of your recent posts you don't seem to have a very good grasp of the how the breakevens work and fluctuate. Kennedy would only require a reasonable score of 80ish this week to see him in a strong position to generate significant $$ in the coming weeks. Once his 50 and 64 drop off his last 3 scores he has the potential to again appreciate in value again. All it would take is a couple of 80+ scores for Kennedy BE to again drop and him to make some more $$. I don't think it is impossible that Kennedy could go 80+ in the coming weeks. He is still getting plenty of the footy just needs to lift his DE for his scores to again increase.

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:03

see what score Kennedy gets this week then decide

if he gets 100 you wont be trading so this question is pointless

tom · 19/04/2016 at 16:11

I kept daniel rich because I'm a weapon.

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 17:10

the Rich haters have been very quiet this week

      tuxCS · 19/04/2016 at 18:31

The reason why i will never pick Daniel Rich in my supercoach side is because he can't handle a tag. He gets a couple of good damaging games together and then the opposition starts tagging him. Save yourself the headache and get a premium.

        Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 19:07

Yep, never been a proven premo, only time to get him is if under priced ie 300k and use as a stepping stone.

His price this year was in line with his whole career as a footballer.

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 18:42

I haven't been quiet, as you can see by my above comment sarcastically calling him a weapon.

Hasn't made any profit, isn't a keeper and Rocky about to come back and take his mid time.

      Jai · 19/04/2016 at 20:16

Disagree… Name the blokes you'll have in front of him by seasons end??

        Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 21:34

Rance, Houli, Laird, Simpson, Gibson, Docherty, Shaw, Biggs, Suckling, Burgoyne, Birchall, Smith, Enright, Bartel. Probably more too.

        Even possibly Adams and Weitering.

Rich has averaged 85 or less since 2009. Except had one year of 90 average in 2012.

Averaged 80 over 2014/2015 not sure why people rate him it's a joke.

          Randomclcihe · 22/04/2016 at 10:19

          Yeo and even Dea!

    Scotchie · 19/04/2016 at 20:41

Jedd · 19/04/2016 at 16:19

Thoughts on my team community
Shaw, Laird, Sherridan, Weitering, Adams, Dea (Brown, Hartly)
Fyfe, Dangerfield, Priddis, Pendlebury, Gray, Libba, Mills, Kerridge ( Gresham, Davis, Keyes)
Nic Nat, Gawn (Grimely)
Barlow, Martin, Hall, Kennedy, Wells, Tippa (Menadue, Papley)

What do you reccomend I do?

    breakevens · 19/04/2016 at 16:22

    Lineup looks very settled
You don't have top deck so hold your trades this round

      colin · 19/04/2016 at 18:25

      hoos top deck

        Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 18:41

JJ, and he's out for 10.

    JamiesNinjas13 · 19/04/2016 at 16:30

Solid team there Jedd, you don't need to trade anyone at this stage. Maybe Gresham needs to go for a bubble rookie if you want to get your M9 cash generation going.

    derek · 19/04/2016 at 17:53

if you were holding keays hoping he would get a game, i would be a little worried if he doesn't get picked this week. his form in the seconds has been very good but still hasn't been picked, in a team that has been missing rocky, Rich and Beams over the last few weeks.

Maitherson will be over his check injury soon and will be pushing for a spot, maybe when Keays gets to the bubble.

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:04

    Papsmear out

    Sherridan out

    Foot's ballers · 20/04/2016 at 11:03

What about Sheridan for DBJ? Shezza has not been what I hoped for. Downtrade as crouching one says

Tom · 19/04/2016 at 16:29

Who is the communities replacement for johannison in the backline, comment who you bringing in

    Pinidu · 19/04/2016 at 16:41

I don't have him but I would recommend Houli, Laird, Simpson, Gibson and Shaw as your targets. We don't know who you have right now so it's difficult to assist.

      Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 17:12

I'd take Docherty over Houli in a heartbeat, consistent, and has a higher total score for the season than Houli but is 50k cheaper.

    Northernsoul74 · 19/04/2016 at 16:43

Pretty open question as depends n everyone's individual team. Some will downgrade, some will upgrade, some will look for value and sideways.

So regarding BenKen, if he gets another 60-80 next week, do we hold him for one more and hope that he gets a ton? We know he's capable.

    Pinidu · 19/04/2016 at 16:40

I guess it depends on his BE as well as possible downgrade targets. If his BE is below 90 and there are no obvious downgrade targets then there's no rush to burn a trade.

I just hope Petracca starts to play soon…

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 17:03

Yep his BE is 56, even if he gets a 40 he won't bleed much and better to have given him a chance than to trade him out and regret it later.

      derek · 19/04/2016 at 17:56

the old heads of supercoach always keep rookies until their BE is greater than there average.

        Crowmagnon · 19/04/2016 at 18:56

are you getting any of the bubble boys this week Derek? If so who are you trading out?

          Derek · 19/04/2016 at 19:30

Only if Paps not named. Otherwise holding

Seem to have enough defence rookies

    bAps · 19/04/2016 at 20:00

I'm keeping him til for this round and next, then trading him to a premo mid in round 7

    Leeds17 · 19/04/2016 at 22:12

    HOLD imo

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:06

he is in my midfield so i will look to trade him into my forwards and upgrade a lower ranked rookie to a premo

will have to wait and see this monday thought

discussions about Ben Ken now are ultimately pointless

Pinidu · 19/04/2016 at 16:37

Community, I have 375K in the bank and am looking to make two trades this week:

Papley –> Byrne Jones (Via A. McDonald Titingwuiti DPP)
L. McCarthey –> Priddis/S. Mitchell/Gray

Firstly, could I have your thoughts on my trades and then which one of the premium midfielders you think I should buy…I currently have the Big 4: Fyfe, Danger, GAJ and Pendles in my midfield.

Thanks in advance.

    tuxCS · 19/04/2016 at 16:47

I feel like mitchell may be rested against lower tier opposition. Priddis and Gray are both fantastic players, either see which players bye rounds fit in with your team well or who has the easiest run home. If that doesn't do it for you then flip a coin.

      Pinidu · 19/04/2016 at 16:54

Thanks tuxCS, I hadn't thought about Mitch being rested so thanks especially for that.

Just wondering….should Mat Priddis be head or tail? 🙂

        tuxCS · 19/04/2016 at 17:01

Go for tails there mate 😉

    derek · 19/04/2016 at 18:00

Don't get SMitchell. Missed the boat and he plays for the hawks. will be rested.

Priddis and Gray both very good selections, however you will be able to get both cheaper in a week or two. i would wait.

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:08

Priddis has had a week off but Gray had a bad week

can you hold one more week before trading?

Adam · 19/04/2016 at 16:41

Hello Community,

I have a serious issue in the likes of Sammy Gray.

I want to trade him because i feel i that with his BE of 129, his current pricing and other premos pricing that this will be the last round i will be able to get a Zach Merrett or Buddy Franklin without trading off any value in another position (such as a improving rookie or a super premo) as i will have 100K spare after Papley to DBJ and am considering another trade instead.

On the other hand, after Geelong, the Power play the Tigers, Carlton, Brisbane, West Coast, Collingwood and Melbourne in that order and taking into consideration S.Gray kills it on games Port win and the fact that they play 5 weak teams in the next 7 games makes me feel that S.Gray could really lift his form and start producing.

So I guess my question to you, the Community is , do you think it is worth holding Gray and wait until he bleeds beyond saving in hope that he will redeem himself or will it be too late if i dont do the trade now?

Thanks in advance

    tuxCS · 19/04/2016 at 16:48

AS Patch said, Z.Merrett is the real deal this season, get rid of the stress and trade sam gray out for him.

    @winterjames5 · 19/04/2016 at 16:49

you clearly selected him to be fwd keeper and his form is bad just give him some time and he will come good when port get back to playing good footy, just look at barlow started poor but pulled out 99 and 81 last 2 weeks

      Kev · 19/04/2016 at 17:05

I've got the same problem, Adam. At his price there are no sideways options, so it will take a good 100-150k to turn him into a keeper (I have plenty of options as I have BK in my mids). Was leaning towards keep for the reasons you mentioned.

On the other hand, his contested numbers are way way down compared with his purple patch towards the end of last year. Wines was out injured when Gray hit form and his return has pushed Gray out of the coalface. Doesn't help that he butchers the footy either.

Still on the fence with this one!

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 17:06

The next 4 rounds for port are Geelong, Richmond, Brisbane and Carlton.

They lost to those 4 teams last year. Hold at your own peril port are not mentally there at the moment not blaming the players only something is wrong.

      Spifflicator · 20/04/2016 at 09:24

This x2 Port are off, they didn't even put up a Yelp last week. I'm turning him to Merret.

    Adam · 19/04/2016 at 17:38

Okay Community, i have decided that i have three options for the Sammy Gray Dilemma

Option 1 Gray to Lyons (Downgrade) or Merrett (Upgrade), Papley to Bryne Jones
Kitty 1.5K for upgrade, 289K for downgrade

Option 2 Gray to Fwd Premo (Merrett) or Mid Super Premo (Ablett/Hannebery/Mitchell), Lonergan to Byrne Jones

Option 3 Hold Gray Papley to Byrne jones (via Adams)
    Kitty 109K

So Community, which option do you think is the best?

      Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 19:10

Liking option one assuming Papley not named. Even if named I'm inclined to boot him, looks out of his depth.

      Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 19:58

I took the risk with Lyons but it could backfire who knows.

He is predicted to go up 37k though with only a projected score of 50, so could be a good stepping stone if it works out.

        Adam · 19/04/2016 at 21:11

        what about Lyons Job security?

I thought someone was injured for him

          Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 21:52

Crouch came out of the team with a hammy injury.

Hard to say who's going to be dropped as Lyons had a great game vs richmond the week before and an ok one vs the swans.

Atkins is likely to be fighting with lyons for a spot and he had a poor game vs richmond but a good one last week.

This is why the Jarryd Lyons pick could backfire.

            Adam · 20/04/2016 at 12:04

Anybody know how long Crouch is out for

              Sarah · 20/04/2016 at 12:40

              Could return this week.

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:09

Sam Gray has never been a premo

not sure why so many got on the bandwagon but you need to be rid of him

    avoid the essendon players

      Leeds17 · 21/04/2016 at 06:10

Imo he's a premo forward if played on the ball and not even an AFL standard player if played elsewhere.

    Leeds17 · 21/04/2016 at 06:08

S Gray very much on the chopping block this week but I want to see where he's named if on the ball I'd be tempted to roll the dice on him as Geelong still aren't great with clearances, he's completely irrelevant is he's not playing as a rover though.

CJudd3Votes · 19/04/2016 at 16:42

Weekly internal dilemma this week is regarding short term pain for long term gain. I could trade out Grimley who i started with in my fwd for Cieran Byrne via Marcus Adams DPP, however after doing similar moves like this i would then have all three of Brown, Adams and Tippa Fwd and be left having to play one of Ruggles, Byrne-Jones & Byrne on the field.
Sitting in top 1% atm and am wanting to keep a high ranking but debating whether the long term cash generation would outweigh the point sacrifice for the next two rounds until i look to do some upgrading. Thoughts?

    Northernsoul74 · 19/04/2016 at 16:59

How many trades have you used?

      CJudd3Votes · 19/04/2016 at 20:46

      Used 5 atm

    Adam · 19/04/2016 at 18:07

    who is your ruck reserve?

If Cox, consider switching cox forward if named, if not named administer trade into another fwd rookie or mid rookie (if you have a mid DDP) because you should keep a fwd/def as a loophole and you already have too many defensive rookies

    derek · 19/04/2016 at 18:09

have you tried doing the trade using a mid/fwd and then a def/mid swing?

@winterjames5 · 19/04/2016 at 16:43

don't mind the trades i would personally keep paps but if you don't think he can make much more it's a good trade

out of the three premo's i would go smitch or you could get a POD in ward, or wait a week or to to get priddis who has a be of 160

    Pinidu · 19/04/2016 at 16:47

Thanks mate. I'll definitely do the Papley trade this week, I think I'll need to either flip a coin or analyse the draw to decide the premium mid. Priddis will come down next week so I might as well just wait.

Marco_Polo94 · 19/04/2016 at 16:58

Extremely happy with my team so far. Don't want to change anything, however if Paps isn't named I will be trading him to Byrne Jones. Seen a few people posting saying Rance isn't a good selection. You don't trade in Rance because he scored 146 last week, you trade him in because he has averaged 88, 96, 97 last 3 years – proven premium defender. Doesn't matter that he is a key defender, SC scorers love the bloke.

    tuxCS · 19/04/2016 at 17:02

I agree 100% with you there Marco.

      derek · 19/04/2016 at 18:11

he is now only $17k cheaper than Heath Shaw. I know who i would get

        Marco_Polo94 · 19/04/2016 at 19:34

I'd get Shaw over him too, just defending rance

    Mongrel punt · 19/04/2016 at 17:55

Hey Marco how do you trade Papley for Byrne-Jones. ?

      tuxCS · 19/04/2016 at 18:36

Hey Mongrel, you can do it via the DPP trading strategy.

For this example i will be trading Papley to Bryne-Jones, and for this to work you MUST have a DEF/FWD DPP player in your backline, I'm going to assume you have AMT and i will use him in the example as well.

Step 1: Press the trade button on Papley.
Step 2: Once on the trade page, press the big "S" on whichever DPP player (AMT) you want to sub into your forward line.
Step 3: Now the only spot left in your team will be 1 in your backline. This enables you to trade in a defender.

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:11

Rance is a great pick, i would get him for sure

min0008 · 19/04/2016 at 17:05

Thoughts on my team community

Def: Shaw, Laird, Bartel, Weitering, Dea, Adams (AMT, Brown)
Mid: Dangerfield, Ablett, Pendlebury, Parker, Wines, Libba, Mills, Kennedy (Gresham, Hewett, Davis)
Ruc: Martin, Nic Nat (Loersch)
Fwd: Martin, Barlow, Hall, Wells, Kerridge, Papley (Menadue, McCarthy)

Have 36k in bank and 28 trades left and don't know what to do? Might downgrade Papley to Byrne Jones and Barlow to Z Merrett.

    Kev · 19/04/2016 at 17:18

First trade yes. Second trade no

      Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 19:11

Agree, it's not like Merrett is on a bubble and you'll miss out on a bargain. Can give Barlow another shot after two decent weeks.

Paul96 · 19/04/2016 at 17:13

Another great podcast once again boys,

Was hoping to get a bit of insight on some potential trades I have in mind (first year playing)

Ive got Top Deck and unfortunately he has to go, however Im not convinced on swapping him out for a Yeo, Houli etc. I already have Shaw, Laird and I think my rookies are good enough to hold their own for the moment.

What I was thinking was swapping out JJ for Bryne-Jones and then trading Hewett for a fallen premo in Sloane or JPK.

Ill hold onto Papley for a while longer because I think he may still have a little bit more growth left in him if he is named.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

    derek · 19/04/2016 at 18:13

you are wise beyond your years (of playing) Paul!

Almost brought a tear to my eye looking at those beautiful trades!

      Paul96 · 19/04/2016 at 18:19

Thanks Derek! Out of both premos is there a better choice? I know JPK is a proven scorer but Im worried about the emergence of Mitchell and Parker affecting his score.

Whereas Sloane has been up and down, but now that Danger is gone, Sloane may be able to truly blossom into a top 10 midfielder.

        derek · 19/04/2016 at 18:24

i have JPK ranked higher than Sloane in my top 10. Sloane i have targeted for the run home at the end of the season when crows draw looks beautiful. JPK by a whisker.

          Paul96 · 19/04/2016 at 18:47

          Thanks again Derek!

          Adam · 19/04/2016 at 20:01

Derek, who do you suppose will be 10 mids.

I see neither JPK or SLoane in My Top 10

          In No Particular order
          1 Danger
          2 R.Gray
3 Ablett (as long as he doesnt get injured)
          4 Fyfe
          5 Hannebery
          6 Ward
          7 Priddis
          8 Parker
          9 Mitchell
          10 Pendlebury

            Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 20:30

Pretty much agree with that top ten at the moment.

There's probably a couple of smokies that could get in but doubt it will be JPK or Sloane.

            Derek · 19/04/2016 at 20:53

Replace ward with Selwood, Parker with JPK and replace Mitchell with Sloane or Rocky

              fatboyfat7 · 19/04/2016 at 21:38

No chance Derek. How you can say Ward and Parker won't finish in the T10 is beyond me. Ward just missed out last year and has started even better this year. Parker looks back to his old self after an injury interrupted 2015. In saying that, I actually like the Sloane selection. Good price, definitely a POD and as you pointed out, his avg scoring against the teams in their last 8-10 games or so is impressive. Would be an option if looking for a mid around the byes IMO.

                Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 21:47

Living in the past maybe? No offense Derek.

                WARD is the real deal

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:11

    I like the Sloan pick

    do that

@winterjames5 · 19/04/2016 at 17:17

Sorry About this but i have another Question which promo FWD should i Bring in this week

or POD's in

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 17:26

Montag had a huge game against the struggling pies, not sure if he's actually worth the 600k honestly.

Dahlhaus I like. Probably paying a lot for him, could go down later in the season…….maybe.

Zorko has started really well, only averaged 100 last year so will he keep it up?

Merret only 20 years old but seems to be proving the doubters wrong. gets more of the ball than Dahlhaus and Zorko.

Your POD's could go up and down as forwards do. Crows and North look to be having a good 2016 though so they could be good picks.

      @winterjames5 · 19/04/2016 at 17:42

      so who would you get

        Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 18:32

        Probably Merret or Dahlhaus.

      fatboyfat7 · 19/04/2016 at 21:39

      Merrett or Zorko for me.

    derek · 19/04/2016 at 18:14

any of the top 4 are good. just wait for them to become cheaper.

    bAps · 19/04/2016 at 20:12

None of the PODs will be reliable scorers. Either jump on Zerrett now while his price is low-ish (compared to the others), or wait for one of the other 3's price to drop

    Leeds17 · 19/04/2016 at 22:05

Of the PODs I think Lynch is the most likely to go 105, he is a star but will need GC to have a good year and they've already got big issues in defence.

I'm still not convinced on Merrett just yet reckon teams you will be down the bottom of the ladder or scraping for 7th-10th spots will start giving him attention also he's 20 and it's a long season, so like the top 3 FWDs you emtnioned more but all over priced, Dusty will be close to 500K in 2weeks maybe wait till then and fix up other areas.

    Danners · 19/04/2016 at 22:10

I like the look of Robinson, only played 3 quarters round 1 and still got 70 odd, but Lynch does look good too

    Csm · 20/04/2016 at 11:59

Joey m will have the best average imo.

Pinidu · 19/04/2016 at 17:17

Just listened to the almighty podcast, interesting to hear Jock and Higgo advise us not to trade Papley, he does have the bombers and lions coming up….but if we took the risk and held him for 1-2 more weeks…there might not be any bubble boys, at the moment we have DBJ, Byrne, Wagner and Ruggles on the bubble…

Thoughts on this conundrum community??

    JB_Tank · 19/04/2016 at 17:31

It is a mistake to assume that playing Essendon will equate to high SC scores. Last week, Essendon outscored Geelong on disposals, clearances and contested possessions. They have a clear plan to deny the opposition the ball and this means Essendon players will continue to score well and opposition players will continue to disappoint.

As for Papley, the Swans may well be playing Essendon but I suspect he won't be!

      Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 17:35

      Agree 100%.

    derek · 19/04/2016 at 18:19

there will be more bubble boys, and better than this crop in my opinion. All these choices are defenders, traditionally poor cash generators.

wait for the Midfielders, the likes of Petracca, Maitherson, Freeman, Hiscox, Lovell, Hopper, Menagola, to get games in a few weeks.

Shaq · 19/04/2016 at 17:20

Docherty or Laird for JJ and why? Leaning towards Laird atm because I feel his more consistent and gives you consistent 90-100+ scores each week.

    Tophawk · 19/04/2016 at 19:38

I already have Laird, and at this stage, I am looking at Docherty for my next defensive upgrade. That will not solve your problem in choosing which player right now. But at the moment Docherty is cheaper, so why not start with him?

    Danners · 19/04/2016 at 22:11

Laird for the reason you said

Michael · 19/04/2016 at 17:38

Hi community, do i bring in byrne jones or wagner or ciaran byrne for papley? thx

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 17:39

    1 B-J
    2 B
    3 W

Boltons Blues · 19/04/2016 at 17:38

i have a "weak"/'slim" forward line would here is my predicament

Backs – Shaw, Laird, JJ, Weitering, Adams, Dea (brown ruggles)
forwards – Hall, Wells, Papley, Kerridge, BenKen, AWT (Menadue, Cox)

now, im looking to trade Papley and JJ

do i

A – downgrade JJ straight to Bryne Jones and upgrade papley with the cash, leaving my forward line with (at this stage) 2 keepers (Hall and whoever i trade in (cant argue with hall, keeps this up, 100% keeper)) and 4 rookies, same with my backline

B – trade papley and JJ, swing Adams forward and bring in Rance/Docherty and Bryne Jones, leaving my forward line still "Weak/Slim" and my backline the same (3 keepers, 3 rookies)

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 19:52

It seems to work out about the same, because either way you are going to be running AMT or Menadue in F6.

The only difference will be a Keeper vs Adams in either the Back or forward line.

Who would you rather lock in right now? A Merret/Zorko/Dahlhaus type or a Docherty/Rance.

My advice Lock the Doch. Great POD in only 3% of teams.

    CJudd3Votes · 19/04/2016 at 20:50

i like A but also i dont think Wells is far off a keeper in the FWD

    Kev · 19/04/2016 at 18:19

If you have one of McTip/Adams/MBrown in def (and you should) trade Papley and click the S next to one of those blokes. It moves them forward and allows you to bring in a defender

      I'm having trouble tho
How do I trade Papley out without having to bring in a fwd. I'm unable to go back to the team page to sub brown once I hit the trade button on Papley. It says I can't have an incomplete trade.
      I must be missing something.

        LEKD0G · 19/04/2016 at 23:35

    Kev · 19/04/2016 at 19:09

    Reasoning for trading out BK?

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 19:14

Just remember ben ken has a BE of 56 and has doubled that BE in 50% of his games.

      Adam · 19/04/2016 at 19:50

That was against essendon and GWS when he peaked, not sure he can do it again

        Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 20:26

The top ups aren't as bad as people think (As melbourne found out) and GWS are a very competitive side.

They played a crap collingwood last week and he didn't score well but I just think he didn't have the best day, it can happen.

He's a good chance of making 80+ in any game I reckon.

Jonathan Camac · 19/04/2016 at 18:39

Obviously looking to trade Johannisen. Question: If you guys had the money and you were looking to upgrade, would you go to Laird or Merret?

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 19:15

Both solid. Which line is weaker forward or back? Depends on what rookies you'd have to play for either option.

    breakevens · 19/04/2016 at 20:11

Really depends on your structure but can't go wrong with either
Merrett will produce bigger scores and generate cash in the short term but Laird is a set and forget player
    Toss a coin

    Danners · 19/04/2016 at 22:08

Laird, more likely to score well for the rest of the season

    Leeds17 · 19/04/2016 at 22:11

I reckon they'll average similar but Laird as a keeper in defence and Merrett maybe just off keeper status up forward.

      Jonathan Camac · 20/04/2016 at 10:15

cheers fellas, yeah I like the consistency of Laird. Rarely drops to bad games, think I'll get him. Plus, he is $15k cheaper

    Zach Merrett

    Danners · 19/04/2016 at 22:08

Merrett, Zorko is way over priced and won't keep up that scoring all season

      @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:15

      explain why he wont?

      2012 16 100.0
      2013 22 82.9
      2014 21 99.0
      2015 22 100.6
      2016 3 125.3

hard to argue with stats like that??

        Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 11:08

Looks like he's over performing and his usual average is 100.

          @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 12:06

based on that comment it applys the same to Merrett

Zorko is proven for many years and low risk of injury

If were discussing "keeping up scoring all season" then you contradicted yourself by saying Merrett as there is no proof that Merrett will continue to score this highly. Looking at his stats it shows he is more unlikely to continue to score highly and has never averaged close to 100

          2014 19 63.7
          2015 17 88.5
          2016 4 116.8

          do your research mate

            Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:17

But you're missing one key piece of information.

Players will breakout at a certain time of their career. Zorko is different because he came in as a mature age player and was ready to go. He doesn't seem to be increasing his scores over a 100 average.

Zerrett has come in as a rookie kid, and significantly increased his scoring over the last two seasons, so it's harder to gauge what his ceiling is.

Of course Zorko is a proven reliable scorer and Zerret is a risk, but people want to take risks to lock in a breakout player that could make a big difference in their team.

I've done my research on Zerrett's scoring and it's actually very impressive and consistent.

              @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 12:22

I hope your correct, but in that Essendon team, i cannot see these players keeping it up all season. They are busting their arse now but as the season wears on they would be defying the odds (Doing a Gary Ablett) to keep up this scoring

If you started with the Bomber boys then good work. Very Buryn maneuver. Once they hit their peak you would want to trade out

Mark my words Zerret and Zaha will drop off and it will get ugly

              These players are NOT GAJ

                Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:46

It's a big risk to get any of the essendon mob that's for sure, I've got Zaha and he's going nicely ranked 8 in the comp and only cost me 415k.

Zerrett at the price he is now is a different risk altogether though, but the forward line only has so many options for high scorers that aren't tall forwards.

            Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:20

And Zerrett has averaged close to 100, last year with 88.

Now with players gone at the bombers he gets 100% midfield time and this has obviously resulted in much higher scores.

He may not be able to keep it up who knows.

        Danners · 20/04/2016 at 21:08

Beams, Rockliff are coming back should average around 100, don't expect 100s every game though. Should be able to pick him up under 500k

I know the feeling! Bloody spuds on the bench, injuries etc etc. Just want them fixed to get back in the game. But using up 5 this week means 17% of your yearly trades are used in one round. 1 round merely represents 4.3% of the season. Kinda puts things in perspective. It's a game of chess this Supercoach caper.

what do i do with sam jacobs.
he has been terrible this year going down 74k

    SCaddict · 19/04/2016 at 19:40

The Inner Sanctum says HOLD but idk. Unfortunately Sauce has some form or history here when he was rubbish back in 2013. Again the company line back then was 'hold' but essentially he cost their owners about 500pts over the course of the season when compared to the other ruck top liners. Coaches have traded for a lot less than 500pts worth.

Of course every year is different so will he continue to be garbage is the great unknown but at some point I think many Sauce owners will cut their losses and move on. There are no easy answers here so it will be gamble either way whether you trade or hold.

If he could just punch out that one huge score like Goldy, NicNat and Gawn have already done it would go a long way to getting that average back on track.

      Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 19:44

Even if he hit a 200 though, it might affect his average but his week to week scores just aren't good enough.

        SCaddict · 19/04/2016 at 19:47

At least his last two weeks have been better than his first two but he's certainly been a disappointment and a source of frustration thus far.

Fraser · 19/04/2016 at 19:30

I am trading Johannisen and George Hewett out this week. I will bring in Byrne-Jones but I am undecided whether to bring in a premium in defence or in the midfield. I can afford anyone and I am throwing up between Laird in defence and Mitchell/Danger in the midfield. Who should I bring in? Currently ranked 950th.

    Abel · 19/04/2016 at 19:58

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:16

Hewett had a good week in the ressies

    wait and see

Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 19:43

Danger, feel he will go well at Adelaide Oval vs Port this week. Not only that obviously I am thinking he will have a big year.

tom · 19/04/2016 at 19:44

What trades should I make?

Shaw, Laird, Rich, Weitering, Dea, Adams, Tippa, Brown
Fyfe, Danger, Ablett, Pendles, Gray, Libba, Mills, Kerridge, Menadue, Davis, Hewett
Goldstein, Martin, Wyatt
Hall, Barlow, De Goey, Wells, Kennedy, McCarthy, Petracca, Papley

Thinking Papley and De Goey for Byrne-Jones and Suckling?

    Adam · 19/04/2016 at 19:56

How much money do you have?

If you have enough for a better premo, Go after SHAW,RANCE, DOCHERTY, RICH, MERRETT,MARTIN if you have the money

if not, Suckling is a good option and is a proven scorer but wont make top 6 in DEF or FWD

      tom · 19/04/2016 at 20:03

only 4k in the bank mate. Already got Shaw and Rich.

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 20:21

Nope then you'll have rich and suckling two potential burn men.

      tom · 19/04/2016 at 20:29

I don't think Suckling is a burn man, with JJ and Murph gone for a lengthy period, suckling will use his weapon left peg and he doesn't mind a snag. He was recruited for a reason, to get the pill and use it well.

        Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 20:35

I don't think he is either, which is why I said potential. What I more meant is you may end up with two guys that aren't top defenders and just average in the 80 area. Waste of space.

          tom · 19/04/2016 at 20:38

fair call, but handy dpp status for d7/f7 by years end

            Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 21:24

@DensleyTim · 19/04/2016 at 19:47

Orazio Fantasia ? Yes or No

    @winterjames5 · 19/04/2016 at 20:01

it depends who you are trading for him it is someone like jj i wouldn't but if it is a failed mid pricer i think he is a very good shout avg 91 low score of 86 has a low be so can make $$ and has a secure spot in the bombers best 22

    SCaddict · 19/04/2016 at 20:07

Not for me although I understand the appeal. Frankly our rookie defenders have been going well enough this season that you may as well go with a rookie bubble boy instead and spend the other $200K saved on Fantasia elsewhere.

Will he keep that 91 average up perhaps not although he may not turn out to be a bad pick. I just think there are better ways to go myself. So many midpriced defenders haven't worked out like Sheridan, Lonergan, McGovern, Harwood etc that I wouldn't be bending over backwards to get another one in, even one who is in pretty good form right now – a week is a long time in footy or so goes the cliche.

Either rookies or super premos like Shaw, Laird, Rance are the way to go in defence from here in my view.

      Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 20:20

Unless he plays well all year and is a keeper, but I don't see it.

He'll end up a 400-450k player that needs trading out again.

BP1 · 19/04/2016 at 19:48

Structure dilema!
I haven't any DPP mid/fwd in my midfield
So can't swing any of my DPP forwards!

Should I upgrade Hewett to Ward??
Or open my swing ability and get zorko
Or Merrett?
Unfortunately might have to hang on to Papsmear
Due to this problem… Arghh

Dasha · 19/04/2016 at 19:54

JJ to DBJ, s.gray to r.gray by dpp? leaves me with tommy sheridan at D3 :O

    Nathan · 19/04/2016 at 20:10

However you do it- rid your self of Sheridan. Such a mid priced trap. Upgrade fully or downgrade fully- nothing inbetween now my friend.

      Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 20:15

He is a trap but if your team has more pressing matters he can stagnate a while before acting on.

        Nathan · 19/04/2016 at 20:23

Correct my SC friend- but you and I don't know that make up from that post- trade Sheridian!!!!

          Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 20:32

Well I know they have JJ (10 weeks) and the trainwreck that is Sam Gray!

            Nathan · 19/04/2016 at 20:45

Train wreck that's got way more potential then Sheridan- lol- where are you ranked??

              Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 21:02

They've scored the same total for the season, yet one was 350k the other was 480k. Sheridan also had a small injury in one of his games.

I'm not going for overall rank this year as I went into round one with a pile of rookies and 750k in the bank.

Still in the top 15% with 850k in the bank last round. Chugging along happily exactly where I want to be with plenty of profit and league wins.

good luck with your 22 rookies and plenty of cash sort of season

Im 33, 000 but not that it's much different. Went for a totally different theory this year, have some fun and go for maximum growth but still try to make finals.

Thanks I will need luck but it's looking good so far.

Sick of scrolling through hundreds of name to find who i want.

    @iambrowndawg · 19/04/2016 at 20:48

I was thinking of something along the lines of Zmerret or Sloane

      SCaddict · 19/04/2016 at 21:03

I'm likely doing a double downgrade this week but if I was getting in a premo forward it would probably be Zerrett.

    Danners · 19/04/2016 at 22:07

    Robinson or Merrett

Send it t me dude I'll get fyfe 😉

Tommo09 · 19/04/2016 at 20:54

Just outside top 1000 and only scored 2,054 last week.

This week I think I am trading Johannisen and Gresham out for Byrne and Byrne-Jones (via DPP).
This makes me very thin in my defence.

Tell me if my trades have helped me…. Thanks community

Def: Shaw, Laird, Weitering, Adams, Dea, Bryne-Jones (Byrne, M.Brown)
Mid: Fyfe, Danger, GAJ, Parker, Libba, M.Crouch, Kennedy, Mills (Menadue, Davis, Dunkley)
Ruc: Goldy, NicNat (Grimley)
Fwd: Martin, Hall, Barlow, Wells, Kerridge, Tippa (Paps, Petracca)

Decided to keep Paps and Bennedy for another week

Thanks community in advance

    Tommo09 · 19/04/2016 at 20:55

    $446300 left in the bank

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 21:21

I think you can get away with that defense then use the warchest to upgrade someone next week.

jack · 19/04/2016 at 20:56

I hate SuperCoach ranked 400th last year now I nice 43k

Lowest score last week then I have in so long low 1800s

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 00:13

There was some low scores last week but jeez. Sounds like you need to go bang-bang and cull some players.

Stevo · 19/04/2016 at 20:58

Papley to DBJ & Menadue to B.Kennedy or Parish?

    Northernsoul74 · 19/04/2016 at 21:13

Your thinking of trading in Kennedy or Parish?

      Stevo · 19/04/2016 at 21:17

Possibly – greater JS than Menadue who may have flat-lined. BK is DPP but Parish looks to have better cash generation.

jimmy · 19/04/2016 at 21:08

de goey

which two do i get rid of first

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 21:18

    De Goey BE 42. Keep.

Cutler just got a 97. BE 31. Keep.

Sheridan has a BE of 75 so is the best trade.

Buy gold it's about a dollar a round for the season pass.

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:18

      Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 11:07

      Agreed but not this week.

SC16 · 19/04/2016 at 21:10

anyone know about matthew wright from carlton?
375k averaging 91.5
scores of 88, 87, 103, 88
last year i he averaged a shit 54, has he's role changed, or has he improved? could be a good stepping stone, b/e of (30?) i think.
Also…. Out of him and Jarrod lyons, who would be the better option?

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 00:04

I know he used to tag for the crows and it ruined his score a bit, and he can go missing.

He's a good player though but at that price I'd pass, not a premo.

Jarryd Lyons is risky but much cheaper, if he's named this week when crouch comes back his JS is looking good.

Don't Blush Babbie · 19/04/2016 at 21:11

Can someone explain to me why does NRL SC show live progressive scores in Game Day and AFL SC doesn't ? – its only started this year with NRL though.

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 00:02

    Use fanfooty.

      Don't Blush Babbie · 20/04/2016 at 05:38

I do mate, I play NRL and it's excellent watching who you are playing Head to Head monitoring scores.

Just don't why AfL SC can't have the same feature

        @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 10:19

scoring is alot more complex than NRL which is so much more structered and easy to follow

james · 19/04/2016 at 21:18

Libba or Yeo? who will average higher?

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 21:39

Libba easily, Yeo won't score like that every week

    Tommy · 20/04/2016 at 09:18

Libba, especially since he gets more time in the guts than Yeo does

    murray · 20/04/2016 at 09:23

    libba easily

fyfe leaves me with 175k left and pendles leavs me 260k

Paulie Walnuts · 19/04/2016 at 21:32

Milera out this week with a quad injury has made it easy trade out but who to bring in DJB or Ruggles, but theres not much love for Ruggles ?

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 21:36

Job security concerns in a cats defense full of good veterans.

    Danners · 19/04/2016 at 22:05

That would be because everyone brought Ruggles in last week, Ruggles would be a better option at the moment though

      Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 22:18

        Loop · 20/04/2016 at 07:00

Me too. I'm a bit wary of Geelong rookies now.

          Mac · 20/04/2016 at 07:15

Personally I think Ruggles spot is safe. He's hard at it and Geelong really like him. He could have easily played round 1 and has been unlucky to be kept out of the side.

Matt · 19/04/2016 at 21:40

Who would be the better pick out of zorko, dalh and merret?
I feel zorko will drop off when rocky and beams come back. Merret is not quite proven and could hit the wall. Dalh I thought would drop with libba back in but he is doing well so far

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 22:08

Beams won't be back for a while though and Zorko is a proven SC scorer.

With Merret yes he's young but he's had 41 AFL games now, and he was very consistent last year and increased his scoring significantly.

Dahlhaus is extremely consistent and is showing that again this year.

So hard to pick one of those, but I like Merrett, the kid is a ball magnet with 30 touches a game, he's also had 8 tackles in each of the last 3 matches. those stats are enough for me to say lock him in.

Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 21:46

Yep just got to cut your losses sometimes and move on before a crap player really impacts your season.

Luke · 19/04/2016 at 21:53

Is Michael Barlow the slowest player in the AFL right now, excluding big blokes? Just looks like the game has passed him by.

I have held him this long but he just looks too slow to have any impact on a game atm. Struggling not to trade to Merrett or even Callan Ward. I think Merrett will be a top 5 forward come seasons end if the Bombers keep playing this style of footy.

    Michael · 19/04/2016 at 22:07

Yep, I'm getting rid of Barlow. Have seen enough. If it wasn't for those tackles he would have struggled to get 60 on the weekend. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets dropped for the kids as well.

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 22:11

Tough call but if you are happy with everything else in your team, you've got to trust your gut and make bold moves on players that are possibly letting your team down.

    Lucky · 19/04/2016 at 22:33

    No. That's daisy mate

      Luke · 19/04/2016 at 23:08

      Good call

    SCaddict · 19/04/2016 at 22:40

He's never been a speedster Luke but he does look particularly lumbering with Freo struggling. I think we were pretty lucky to get 81 out of him last weekend.

I'm probably doing a double downgrade this week so Spudlow will get one last chance at home against the Blues. If he dishes up more 80ish mediocrity or worse then that's definitely it. He's just doing the bare minimum to sustain his existence in Addicts but enough will be enough next week if he can't produce the goods and ton up. The same goes for De Goey.

      Luke · 19/04/2016 at 23:08

With his relatively achievable breakeven, might keep him for 2 more weeks then trade to Wingard or Martin when they bottom out.

Every week so far I have traded him out about 15 times and reversed the trades. I want Merrett but he is now $530k and is it too late? I'm not sure, might be the cheapest we get him for the rest of the year if he manages to keep it up.

Gibbs · 19/04/2016 at 21:56

Thoughts on these trades? feel Papley is just about done generating cash could trade menadue instead of him! Also recon Barlow is to slow and Having ward will boost my team by 30 points at least
Papley To Byrne Jones
Barlow to Ward

    @winterjames5 · 19/04/2016 at 21:58

don't trade barlow his last two weeks have been good and he only has a be of 88 which he can make

      Luke · 19/04/2016 at 22:15

He just looks too slow and 100 points is about his ceiling by the looks of it.
After watching the last couple of Freo games it is hard to get excited by the bloke. He had 9 tackles and kicked a goal on the weekend and still only scores 81 supercoach points. Not good signs

        hedski · 19/04/2016 at 23:55

        Sam mitchell looks slow too.
        Just a thought.

Ryan · 19/04/2016 at 22:04

guys, DBJ, Byrne, Wagner, Ruggles…which 2 would u get in?

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 22:21

Both Byrnes. Like their JS and consistent scoring.

TRIGGER HAPPY · 19/04/2016 at 22:07

I just dunno anymore. Thought i had a pretty competitive team, did a fair bit if research pre season and had the balance right but the last 3 weeks have me scratching my head.

Team is:
Houli, laird, lonegran, weita, dea, adams. (Ruggles, AMT)
Pridda, danger, god, gray, parker, sheil, duncan, parish. (Gresham, davis, dunkley)
Dog dog, gawn (wyatt)
Wingard, hall, wells, benken, kerridge, mccarthy. (Menadue, papley)

Trade i was thinking of was papley to darcy byrne via AMT.

Bloody papley having a stinker last week wrecked my other trade which was longeran to shaw. About $20k short of that trade.

So don't know what to do as starting to second guess myself.

Do i just do the one trade this week and go longeran to shaw in 2 weeks hoping shaw will drop another $20k
Flick longeran fwd and trade him for lynch putting one of amt, ruggles or byrne jones on ground in def.
To get cash generation flick adams fwd and trade gresham to wagner or byrnes via dpp. This puts menadue as a bench option in the mids, adams as a f6 and one of bynes, wagner or ruggles on field in def.

Just not sure. Think paps will be dropped this week so think i will need to trade to byrnes.

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 00:22

Go bang bang. Papley out, Adams forward, DBJ in. D6.

Dunkley/Gresham out. Menadue to mid. AMT forward. Byrne in.

Your team looks good just gotta keep the money rolling in.

Not a big fan of some of your picks ie Wingard, Sheil, Duncan but they are good players that can and will score well.

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 20/04/2016 at 11:20

Thanks southern. Yeah I think cash gen is the way to go. Gotta as have some pods they r mine. Happy with sheil just waiting for the big one but so far ward has picked up the extra points, Wingard has been disappointing but expect him and port to really come out firing this weekend. Duncan big inconsistent but he can go big.

Andrew · 19/04/2016 at 22:40

What do we reckon, went S Gray>DBJ (via DPP) and Papley > Merrett
Team is currently:
Houli, Laird, Lonergan, Weitering, Adams, Dea (Hartley, DBJ)
Fyfe, Danger, Ablett, Hanners, Shiel, Libba, Mills, Kerridge (Davis, Hewett, Dunkley)
Goldy, Gawn (Loersch)
Zorko, Merrett, Hall, Wells, BenKen, AMT (McCarthy, Brown)

DDJ · 19/04/2016 at 22:48

Lots of talk about downgrades and even double downgrades for this week, however I'm finding I have no one worth downgrading from.

I have 589.2k in the war chest with 27 remaining, should I hold my trades this week or are the Byrne men essential for cash generation?

If you think I should trade in a Byrne man or 2 who should I drop out of papsmear, hewett, b.crouch, Barlow and Ben ken?

I'm very tempted to follow crouchings wisdom #bangbang

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 23:19

Pap and Hewett if not named.

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 23:59

Crouch due back and you've already had him on bench, has lots of potential and a low BE

Barlow 88 BE and has stopped bleeding. Possible to increase to increase his scoring.

Ben Ken 56 BE very possible he'll keep going up in value.

      DDJ · 20/04/2016 at 00:30

I totally agree with your wisdom mate, it's just a shame that I already wasted 2 trades to bring in papley and hewett, I thought they were valuable cash cows and they haven't provided much value… Fingers crossed the Byrnes boys don't follow in their footsteps

        Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 00:38

Yep it sucks, I started with hewett but traded in papley on the bubble and he did nothing for me.

Oh well these are the things we have to do to make money, and I feel there's not going to be too many options later in the season, I've already got a big warchest but can't help but think I have to get both Byrne's in this week.

    Russ · 20/04/2016 at 00:42

I don't believe trading in Rookies who may not keep their job is definitely not essential, rather trade no one or only an injury or trade someone in who has JS and will score you points.

      Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 11:58

I see Byrne from Carlton holding his job all year. Not so sure on the other bubble boys.

Shane · 19/04/2016 at 23:09

Fellas thoughts on Shannon Hurn in defence – is he viable as a POD/Keeper?

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 23:58

You thinking of bringing him in or trading out?

Votes · 19/04/2016 at 23:17

Do I do a double down grade with papley to Byrne-jones and m. Brown to ruggles! Or instead get Barlow out for ward instead of that second trade?

    Southern S · 19/04/2016 at 23:57

Papley to Burn-Jones. Don't like the second trades.

    Russ · 20/04/2016 at 00:43

Ruggles might not keep his job, Byrne Jones might not keep his job, waste of trades.

JJJ · 19/04/2016 at 23:59

Papley to Sloane or Zerrett??

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 00:08

Sloane not a top ten mid. Zerrett possibly a top forward, go with Zerrett.

      Wow · 20/04/2016 at 16:06

How can you just say "not a top ten mid"
Sloane is a gun…… I don't know where you get your logic from. A lot of bold statements and a lot of silly ideas

        Lachie · 22/04/2016 at 17:46

Sloane isn't a top 10 mid this season in my prediction… With Dangerman gone, the tag is almost always heading towards Sloane.

    Flaccid Jaff · 20/04/2016 at 02:21

I'd go sloane, best midfielder at the club, reckon he'll be right up there

Josh · 20/04/2016 at 00:16

I would just like to encourage everyone to Get on board merret. He has a low b/e and he will post another 120 this week easy. The best players stand out in big games and this is the biggest game in essedons calendar this year with no finals. Not to mention that on average Collingwood are collecting 65 less possessions then their opposition and and Essendon 35 more.

Yes Essendon will loose games, but there was a shiny bald headed bloke in a young Gold Coast side that still posted consistent big scores despite many losses. While he may not be the same caliber he is effocient, he does collect the ball and he also snags a few goals so I say don't be like those who don't have hall, when in 5 weeks you realise he is a keeper and are paying a mid premo price.

Flaccid Jaff · 20/04/2016 at 02:36

Have a huge 600k warchest after going JJ down to DBJ. I can go paps to anyone in fwd, mid or def, thinking Laird, Fyfe or Zorko. Or I can wait and grab shaw, R. Gray or dusty in a couple of weeks when they bottom out. Or I can go Lobbe up to Goldy this week. What do you think community? Is goldy ever going to drop more than 50k in price? Even if he does it it worth waiting with Lobbe for that to happen?

    Kev · 20/04/2016 at 08:08

The eyes light up when you're sitting on that kind of coin. Personally I recommend to hold off till upgrade season (round 8-9). Makes it a little more easier to upgrade those fattened rookies into reliable premo's.

    Your call though

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 11:05

Lobbe is bleeding and scoring like a rookie backliner.

      derek · 20/04/2016 at 12:04

      Lobbe has to go

Creekers · 20/04/2016 at 07:13

Massive podcast and huge headache Sunday morning. Was a pleasure to share mega pints with Jock and too many rums with Crouching. (mad bastards). Have to deal with the Top Deck trade. My first thoughts was JJ to Rance to take advantage of all those bonus points he receives from CD. Now sober, I'm thinking JJ to bubble boy Byrne, then S Gray to Montagna. This leaves enough cash to a easy upgrade to Rance next week.
Thanks for a rippin evening fella's. You blokes know how to party.

oliver · 20/04/2016 at 08:05

which trade is better

Sheridan + Cutler ——> Biggs + Fantasia 25k in the kitty

Sheridan + Wines ——-> DBJ + Smitch then next week Cutler down to T.Lee with about 450k in the kitty

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 11:35

Option one is two risky players.

Option 2 is also 2 risky players.

Mitchell will get rested as he can't keep this up all season.

Although I like DBJ he is possibly risky too being so young, we all know how Papley turned out.

Tommo09 · 20/04/2016 at 08:13

Is 2 premiums and 4 rookies on field in the backline too little??
I got Byrne and Byrne-Jones in my backline and have $464000 left now
Will use that to upgrade next week
JJ and Gresham out this week

Is this a good or bad move??
Thank you

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 11:14

If it's Dea, Weitering, Adams and one other you might get away with it for a small period of time.

Clarky · 20/04/2016 at 09:15

I have a dilemma community!

I have 2 options, both containing JJ being traded out 🙁
Including JJ, i have 3 premiums in defense, and 5 premiums in the midfield (and libba)

Option 1: JJ and Trent Mckenzie (who is on my bench) for Docherty and DBJ
Option 2: JJ for DBJ and either Menadue/Gresham/Davis/Mills?BKennedy for a premium midfielder

I personally prefer option 1 as my midfield rookies mostly still have money to earn. But also, the big scores are mainly in the middle, so i'm stuck!
Love to hear you opinion. I am willing to post what my team looks like, i know it may be confusing, me just chcuking names at you, without you knowing what the entirety of my team looks like!

murray · 20/04/2016 at 09:22

what to do with S Gray?? I can trade him to someone like Merrett or Franklin or even Zorko in the Forward line, or get Sloane or JPK in the mids. What would you do and why? what is the better option.(I would be doing the Papley to Byrne-jones trade to facilitate this)

    Tommy · 20/04/2016 at 09:29

I am still unsure about Franklin, he is so up and down. He finished with a good score last week but he was in the negatives at quarter time. He has the ability to go big but will chuck in some stinkers.
Merrett is scoring well but for 530k, it is a risk considering he hasn't proven himself to score well all year. Jock reckons he will drop off. I would be going Zorko. Has shown he is a very good premium and a mostly reliable scorer.

      murray · 20/04/2016 at 09:50

      Thanks Tommy
I favour Zorko over the other 2 fwds also, but also like the prospects of Sloane or JPK in the mids. Any of these three would be reliable keepers, just deciding on which one??

        Peter · 20/04/2016 at 10:19

Sloane for me at his price, very appealing

        Tommy · 20/04/2016 at 10:22

Hmmmm, that is a much tougher question. JPK has started much slower, and may be dealing with 3-4 other premium mids at the swans potentially stealing his points. Sloane has been red hot this year so far. But what is worrying, is that since sloane is the main midfielder this year at the crows, he will attract the tag. Much more likely to be tagged than JPK. I would probably go JPK and back him to get back to form, but it is a real toss of the coin selection.

          derek · 20/04/2016 at 12:02

JPK makes the other Swan midfielders look good. Most of his touches are contested handballs. Everytime JPK touches the ball, Parker or mitchell are there to receive. he is one of my favourite SC players. Not in my team yet, was hoping he might be a bit cheaper than his starting price.

        Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 11:03

Sloane is risky with Thompson, Douglas and the Crouch brothers getting midfield time.

He's only had one big game this year and that was last week, not time to get excited by him.

      derek · 20/04/2016 at 11:59

it is hard to argue that his first 4 scores of 91, 102, 109, 101 are "up & down", but i know what you mean.

        murray · 20/04/2016 at 12:13

its is a tough one isnt it Derek. Franklin seems to be having a best start to a season for some time. He is a risk though, that is why it is safer to go JPK or Sloane i.e a proven mid

          derek · 20/04/2016 at 12:41

i havn't watched enough of the swans games this year to know how he is playing. Sometimes scores don't refect how someone is playing, he might be playing better than his scores. Have you watched him this year?

            murray · 20/04/2016 at 12:46

no, not much but what I have seen, Franklin is flying. Seems very fit and confident at the ball

              Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:51

Yep Franklin going well. If I was going to lock in a tall forward it would be him by far.

                derek · 20/04/2016 at 13:13

                not Cloke?

                  Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 13:19

                  Cloke a close second 🙂

Cameron Ling · 20/04/2016 at 09:40

Would you condone the trading out of Milera after getting him in round 3 (first week of trades)? I had to bring him in early as I had too many doughnuts in my team such as wyatt. The only reason I would trade him out is because he has a break even in the 60's and he has a very small likely hood of getting this. Trading him out would mean I could DPP AMT to the forward line and then bring in Byrne-Jones down back, making cash and promising money off of his low ass break even of -67. Please let me know ya thoughts

Steeeve · 20/04/2016 at 09:43

Would love to bring in DBJ, love the way he goes about it and feel as a rare bright spot for the Power they'd be mad to drop him anytime soon. Thinking whoever is not named out of George Hewett and Papley will have to make way. But is it too soon? Hewett hasn't appreciated in value much, but I'm not sure when he play again…

Dasha · 20/04/2016 at 10:14

DBJ or ciaran byrne?

    breakevens · 20/04/2016 at 10:38

Byrne's job security looks better but DBJ has better scoring capacity
    flip a coin

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 12:18

HIGHLY rated at Port by his fellow team mates

do a google search on DBJ and you will see

breakevens · 20/04/2016 at 10:39

Option one looks like the way to go

James · 20/04/2016 at 11:06

26 Trades Remaining, $65,400 Remaining.

H.Shaw, R. Laird, JJ, Weitering, Adams, Dea (Tippa, Brown)
Fyfe, Danger, Ablett, Shiel, Zaharakis, Libba, A. Young, Kerridge (Davis, Hewett, Gresham)
Goldy, Gawn (Wyatt)
Hall, M. Robinson, Barlow, Wells, Kennedy, Papley (Menadue, McCarthy)

Two Options:

1st option:
JJ to Docherty &
Papley to DBJ (whilst swinging Tippa forward and starting on field)
This leaves $137,300 remaining

2nd option:
JJ to DBJ &
Papley to Hannebery (or Gray, Parker, Ward etc) (whilst swinging Kerridge forward and starting him on field)
This leaves $11,400 remaining. Does this leave my defence too weak? I will have to start either Tippa or DBJ on field

    Chill · 20/04/2016 at 11:54

Depends.. 1st option you are standing by your original structure decisions. Docherty is a good replacement for JJ. You are trading out a rookie who is done, for a bubble boy. all good.
Option 2 changes your structure. You are bolstering you mid-field but leaving you open in D. How will you move to fix this in the coming weeks? What is your longer term plan? Doesnt leave you with much money in the bank.
Personally I would take option 1.

      James · 20/04/2016 at 12:01

That's a fair call mate. I am considering changing my initial structure purely because I trust the scoring of my defensive rookies more than my mid/fwds

        Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:11

The old change the structure fear mongering. Like it matters you just downgrade/upgrade in a few weeks time and lock another premo in the backline. Structure back to normal.

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:01

2nd option, midfielder is going to score more than docherty, well you'd hope so.

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 12:17

    Get Hanne

Your DEF will be weak but he will make up for it

Get your team to full premo asap then worry about everything else

    Anil · 20/04/2016 at 12:50

prefer the 2nd option, hannerz should avg 20 pts more than docherty and tippa will avg 65-70 hopefully (can be fielded)

    Lachie · 22/04/2016 at 17:47

    You're wasting trades

Alphie · 20/04/2016 at 11:41

How is papley to DBJ possible if papley is forward only and dbj is a defender only????

    James · 20/04/2016 at 11:50

When you click trade Papley, you can click the 'S" next to a def/fwd eligible player. In this case it is Tippa, which moves him to the forward line from my back line. Then I can trade in a defender for papley

    Chill · 20/04/2016 at 11:51

Trade out papley, move one of you defenders who have DPP eligibility (ie. Marcus Adams (DEF/FWD, Anthony Mc-T (DEF/FWD, M Brown etc. then by DBJ… that's why we have dual position players…

    Lachie · 22/04/2016 at 17:48

    you rookie

Aaron · 20/04/2016 at 11:43

Should I trade Sauce Jacobs to Gawn or hold him?

    Tommy · 20/04/2016 at 11:48

i reckon hold. The crows draw opens up now, so i am expecting he hits some form

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:08

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 12:16

    refer to my post below

Fotz · 20/04/2016 at 11:53

tom j lynch or zerrett up fwd?

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 12:15

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:33

    Zerret, Zorko, Dahlhaus?

YUM14U · 20/04/2016 at 12:01

Ranked 187 and team as follows:
Def: Houli, Smith, Weitering, Adams, Dea, Tippa (Hartley, J Gibson)
Mid: Fyfe, Danger, Ablett, Pendles, Parker, Cripps, Libba, Mills (Davis, Hewett, Dunkley)
Ruck: Goldy, Gawn (Chol)
FWD: Hall, J Reiwoldt, Wells, B Kennedy, Kerridge, Papley (Menadue, M Brown)

$78k in the kitty with 28 Trades and wondering if I should downgrade somewhere to some of the bubble boys and build the kitty up?

    @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 12:15

    Papsmear gone

maybe bring Tippa to your FWD line and bring in DBJ in DEF

That should free up an extra 100k to spend next week

    good luck

    derek · 20/04/2016 at 12:38

you have done very well to be ranked in the top 200. Important not to get carried away and chace points to maintain your rank. Some people may have even traded out Gibson last week.

If Hewett, menadue or paps not named, they should go.

      YUM14U · 20/04/2016 at 21:10

I held onto Gibson last week but this week will take your advice and wait for team lists and then decide whom to downgrade out of Paps, Hewitt, Menadue etc. Trying to slowly build the war chest over the next few weeks…

@wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 12:12

I cannot believe that coaches, after all the advice given to them, are STILL thinking about trading an under performing premo for a sideways trade

Every year its the same

You have rookies across all lines that need upgrading before you do stupid sideways trades

NEVER trade a premo unless you have an LTI

JJ gone re: LTI = Trade

Try not to sideways trade…. upgrade or downgrade always

My advice is upgrade/downgrade JJ to either a rookie or Ultra Premo (Shaw, Rance etc..)

HOLD these fallen premos like Barlow

We can correct these mistakes later in the season

Anyone thinking of trading a premo to one of these Essendon boys needs to stop.. pull off their dog collar and stop chasing cars

you will get exhausted

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:30

Unless it's Sam Gray because he's not a premo, Can't be proven with a 90 average and 10 games under the belt in 2015.

      @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 12:35

Shouldnt have Sam Gray to start with

However if you have him, think of why you have him. If i had him in my team i would hold as its been 4 weeks and the week you trade him out he will ton up

      nothing changes

paint the fence. dont sideways trade premos

        murray · 20/04/2016 at 12:53

understand, be disciplined however I am not sure SGray is premo now

          derek · 20/04/2016 at 13:11

look for an underpriced premo then

    derek · 20/04/2016 at 12:31

I agree Wheels. At the start of every year we all forget how important trades are. No worries attitude (it is like my son with his pocket money).

      @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 12:37

pocket money DOES burn a hole in the pocket though…. so i can understand that!

        derek · 20/04/2016 at 13:12

the difference is that he gets more $ the next week. In supercoach their comes a time when there is no MORE.

    murray · 20/04/2016 at 12:34

wheels, what do you do with SGray then? He is not premo and has underperformed this year. I think anybody who has hom (incl myself) should dispose of him. I cant see him returning to what he was producing, even though he might have the odd good SC score. However he is too risky

      @wheels_1987 · 20/04/2016 at 12:40

my opinion is that you hold him

fill your lines with solid premo picks

then, when your team is taking shape THEN trade him out

by then you will have more data and he may even start playing the way you wanted when you chose him in the first place

dont forget Port have been getting flogged. I would hold till AT LEAST the bye rounds

        murray · 20/04/2016 at 12:50

Understand your point, but he might just keep dropping points and $, so some might say trade now so you can a proven player eg JPK or Sloane. ie cut your losses and say it was a mistake getting him in the first place. Cant get every pick from the start right sometimes

          Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:54

This is where 'the rule book' has to be thrown out the window.

Sam Gray was an over priced anomaly and there are burn men every year.

          Adapt and survive.

ZED · 20/04/2016 at 12:17

Looking at upgraded Papley to Z.Merrett. Initially went from Barlow to Pap to free up money but has now staled and don't trust Papley's output. Merrett could rise significantly so thought I jump in now rather than later. Thoughts?

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:34

Merret's BE is 90 so he won't go up too much.

Moz · 20/04/2016 at 12:43

In all seriousness, what are people's thoughts on Jack Zieball?
– He's averaged 125 over the past 3 weeks
– Is in a winning team
– Is a clearence machine

I'm considering getting him in my midfield as a POD.

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 12:57

    2013 – 95 ave
    2014 – 83.6
    2015 – 86.7

    Your stats are way off.

      derek · 20/04/2016 at 13:10

i have him in my draft team, and looking to get rid of him while he has some value.

      Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 13:17

Sorry thought you wrote last 3 years, my bad.

He is going very well this season and always showed promise but never seems to hold his form for long. Could be a good POD if he keeps it up.

TurndownforWatt · 20/04/2016 at 12:49

Have 350k in the bank but I am considering:

Brad Crouch —> DBJ
Papley —-> Ciaran bryne

Just to build the reserves, but could possibly get rid of sam gray or seedsman for one of those of trades

    Northernsoul74 · 20/04/2016 at 12:55

Brad Crouch might be back this week. If you've held him to now I'd be keeping him to benefit from his price rise.

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 13:16

The seed has shown some good moments but is more than likely to stagnate at his mid price. 62 BE.

Sam Gray is bleeding money and is highly doubtful to be anywhere near a top forward this year. Lost 59k and with a 129 BE that he looks far from achieving.

Brad crouch hasn't lived up to expectations but with only a 25 BE is a possibility to bounce back.

Fallen premos are usually a really bad trade but I feel like Sam Gray is unproven to be in that category. Trade him to a bubble defender and sue the warchest to upgrade Seed/crouch to premos in coming weeks.

Carlos · 20/04/2016 at 13:02

Painting the fence

JJ to Byrne-Jones
Mills to Fyfe

    Southern S · 20/04/2016 at 13:09

Mills only a 20 BE and you paid good money for him.

Had a good game vs the crows on the weekend (84 SC) and showed the class he was hyped up for. 23 touches, 10 contested and 5 inside 50's. Hold for sure.

    Tommy · 20/04/2016 at 13:56

Yeah, do the JJ trade this week and do the Fyfe trade in the next couple of weeks

Davonaise · 20/04/2016 at 14:25

Ziebell, Zaha, Scully or Duncan? ( or any others? )

Looking at bang for your buck if you will….

I have JJ > B.Jones and Menedue > one of the above as my trades.
Doing this because I will do a double upgrade next week being Shaw and Pendlebury

    Adam · 20/04/2016 at 17:47

Wouldn't bring in Pendles until he no longer has a 'sore rib'

    Leeds17 · 21/04/2016 at 06:05

I would expect Lachie hunter to go 105+ for the next 6-8 weeks,

Ruc – 2 out in 14, 1 in 15 (0, 1, 1 Gawn, Goldstein)
Fwd – 3 out in 13, 2 in 14, 3 in 15 (2, 0, 0 Hall, Montagna)

As a result, when cash cows (esp Essendon) are ripe for plucking I'm probably needing to look towards Round 14 cover especially, which means staying away from Parker, Hannebery, Zaka, Gray in the mids, and looking towards Shaw, Rance and Doherty in the backs.

What thoughts?

Guys have a question I have 280k in loot
and I don't need to trade but I have Matt Crouch and to can get a premo.

I was going to hold to see if he can appreciate more, but looks minimal.

Crouch to Ward?
