Tobias Greene. What a curious bloody case this is community.
Brad Crouch is also an itch that plenty around the community need to scratch. Pull up a stool by the fire. Fetch your pipe and slippers. Grab a beer. It’s time to pick apart the selection scenarios we’re faced with as we look forward to another arousing week of fantasy footy.
Can't wait to listen to this one you ripper!
ok i have rich, rocky greene and barlow, what do i do
Wait & see on Rocky if fit his inclusion will affect where Rich plays, may as well hold Barlow now….really not much to go for unless you trade around to mids….I'm in the same boat with Greene……I reckon he'll be stuck forward, so he is the most likely to go i think. Keep Sheridan, Ross loves him….has security.
trade down rocky for a cheapie.leave barlow. use the cash on a gun for second trade.
and sheridan
Is a rockliff to Parker ok?
Don't even think about it…Just Do!!!!
i think you are wanting this trade a week to late. Rocky only out for 1 week now so hold. I traded Rocky for Gray last week but if he was only to miss a week, i would have held.
If you are going to trade him go to a player you know will be a top ten mid such as Gray, Pridda, Gablett, Danger or Fyfe if you dont have them and the extra 100K
At this point, you've already held Rocky for one of two (presumed) weeks on the sideline and missed Parker's major price rise – it'll now cost you to bring him in. Last week, I'd have said it was a fine move (I went Rocky -> Hall myself), but now I say hold. There's no doubt Rocky will hit huge numbers this season.
Bad, very baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad trade.
I did that last week
B: Houli, Laird, Sheridan, Weitering, Dea, Adams (AMT, Cutler)
M: Dangerfield, Ablett, Priddis, Gray, Shiel, Adams, BenKen, Parish (Davis, Hewett, Gresham)
R: Nic Nat, Gawn (lorensch)
F: Barlow, Hall, De goey, Wells, Kerridge, McCarthy (Menadue, Papley)
Score very well last week but still have a couple of concerns with Cutler, De Goey, Gresham, Barlow
Have $143,600 left in the kitty and not sure who i should offload first and who to
Thoughts would be very much appreciated
Wait to see if Gresham is named. I'm considering a Gresham -> Hartley move via some DPP trickery with Menadue and Brown (or AMT/Adams in your case). As Jock and co. mentioned, be wary of Hartley's JS with Grima coming in. Reassess when teams are released.
Ethan, Thats what I thought but is it better to go with a rookie like freeman or petracca who hasn't played? Thoughts Jock?
Haven't even started the podcast and i already know it will be great.
I like rockliff for Gray, excellent trade, however i personally wouldnt trade out crouch, sure he hasnt been scoring fantastically just yet, but from what ive seen of him in game, he's doing the right things, he just needs to work up some more match fitness and then he'll fire.
Head between the knees, and heaving sobs. Tends to do the trick for me.
Excellent trade.
I've got Lobbe, Green as major concerns, but on the pine Rockliff and Crouch, waiting on selection of sides this week before vomiting up a couple of trades. I am chasing overall ranking this year so will have to move on both or either Crouch and Rockliff depending on there availability. I have about $130,000 in the bank so not a lot to play with!
if i was you, Lobbe and Crouch out for premium ruck and a rookie. Hold Rocky and Greene for a bit longer. Rocky will come good once he has some match fitness but it depends how patient you are?
Couldn't have said it better myself.
B:Shaw,Laird,Rich,Weitering,Dea, Adams (AMT,Brown)
M:Parker,Danger,Priddis,Libba,Graham,Hanners,Shiel,Neale (Mills,Davis,Dunkley)
R:Nic Nat,Gawn (Grimley)
F:Hall,Wells,BK,Papley,Kerridge,Tobias Greene (Gallucci,Chol)
Scored 2382 last week after a 2333 (R1) 2146 (R2)
Want to offload Greene & Rich….but also want to get Gazz in….BUT I have no Mid DPP's, to change around.
Few K in the bank, so need to do 2 trades to get Gazz….which rules out trading both Greene & Rich, I'm thinking Graham & Greene for Gazza & Hartley……..or should I sit tight another week on Greene?……what are your thoughts fellas?
Considering Crouch to Keays and Greene to Zorko this week. I wanted Zorko all pre season til I discovered he wasn't playing rd 1. I am holding Rockliff and loopholing again and will upgrade to a fallen or possibly Fyfe or GAJ.
Evening Jock Reynolds community! I've got 345k at the moment.
I'm going with Bartel to Houli as Bartel's breakeven will continue to bring him down while Houli is on the rise.
What are your thoughts on Greene to Martin? Is it worth spending over 100k to get rid of Greene?
I'm upgrading rich to houli
Then side trading and taking a punt
On Martin to Waite!
dont trade martin for waite, assuming your talking about dusty, its a waste of a trade and martin is the better long time option
Agree, save your trades – guaranteed to regret this one
Bartel to Houli is just crazy talk. Jimmy had 110 last week and plays the Dons this round so there is potential for another juicy score which would see that BE that worries you so much plummet. The last time Houli played the Eagles he didn't ton up so that move this week could result in a double whammy.
Bachar got off to a flyer last season too but eventually cooled down to more moderate premo defender scoring of 90-95. Not denigrating him as as an attractive trade in target only that a sideways from Bartel would be sheer madness in my view.
You think that's madness what about the side trade of Martin to Waite!
I purposely left that one for you to condemn SS. 🙂
God damnit, my brain can only handle so much 😀
🙂
That's not even a sideways trade. That's an out and out downgrade!
I know he scored 110 and it looks like a retarded trade but I've had Bartel this year, for a bit of last year and the year before that. He's served me well, averaging 70-90, but what I've noticed it that he never performs when I need him to. I always have that sense of doubt in me every week whenever he's up against a opposing defensive option.
Bobby, take your finger off the trade button mate and relax. He's not injured, he's getting reasonable scores for his price. It's not the right move at the moment.
I'll keep that in mind mate.
What about Greene to Martin instead?
Like.
Greene is a definite concern but I would probably give him one last chance. He still has that 120 in his price for another week so it's unlikely to cost you much cash to wait one more week as his BE is a fairly gettable 80.
If he delivers another spudly score then yes by all means get rid of him next week. In fact Jock may even join you on the dump Greene lynch mob.
Btw which Martin are you considering Dusty or Jack? I presume the former although Jack Martin is now fantasy relevant again too and actually shaping up as a pretty interesting POD at less than 2% ownership.
Dusty. Don't think I can risk Jack. Thanks for your help tonight SCaddict. I appreciate what you've said and I forbid you good luck for season 2016.
Had 450k in the bank went t McKenzie to JJ then Crouch to either Ward of JPK.
Thoughts on those 2 or has anyone got any better ideas?
PLEASE HELP
What do I do with Brad Crouch?
I have the money to trade him to Robbie Gray but not sure about the 400k spend. Maybe upgrade to Zaharakis or even downgrade to Petracca? Thoughts?
HOLD. He'll come good.
Gave, crouch is out for a couple of weeks mate
Robbie Gray. Get it done.
Rockliff set to go down 40k next time he plays. Let him go? Can get anyone. Parker or Gray was thinking. After podcast thinking Gray.
I'm loving Gray. Consistent 120's regardless of how Port go as a team. Effective with the ball, kicks goals, gets contested ball. Go get him.
Gray now lock …cheers
Money shouldn't be the concern when it comes to Rocky. The only issue is how soon he can get to averaging >110 . Assuming you keep Rocky all season, who really cares if he goes up or down 50k? I reckon price changes shouldn't be the sole determinant when it comes to trading out premos.
Cheers Shinboner. Very good point.
Thumb up
I need help community. I have Crouch. Hold for now or trade?
If your midpricer isn't making you money then move him on
Trade out for at least 2 weeks
Wha do we think about zaharakis? With hep Watson and other scorers out does he benefit??
He's there no.1 midfielder imo.
Locked him in last week for 415k and even in a tough game against port and still got 100. A lot of his games are going to be tough mind you.
Got to have faith he's a keeper if you lock him in now for 470k.
Personally I think he is a keeper, or I'll at least make 100-150k off him if I upgrade him later. Worth the punt for me at his original price.
their*
Trade out Hewett (M8) Gresham (bench) to Kennedy & ? Already have Mills at M7.
Wait and see the teams mate
crouch to parish alright community???
Missed the boat on parish, may as well bring in Hartley or Short For cash generation, otherwise go premium if you need to trade him straight away.
I've gone Crouch to petracca which has allowed me to go Rocky to Ablett and still have 156k in the bank
Petracca starting on the bench for me as well
I can't see myself making any more trades until at least round 9 when my rookies price starts to max out
Sounds ok although I still think keeping Petracca for cash cow harvesting purposes later in the season is the preferable play. However Crouch does need to go so if this manouever helps you to get Gaz in this week then that's basically a pretty good plan.
Do you have any DEF/MID players in your backline? If so another option could be to swing one into the middle to replace Crouch and then bring in Hartley or Ruggles instead. Or failing that you could do a three way switcheroo by moving a FWD/DEF defender into your forward line then swinging a FWD/MID forward into the middle to replace Crouch to ultimately again bring in Hartley or Ruggles.
Just something to consider.
And lastly good luck with the 'I'm not trading again until round 9' idea. 🙂
I think a few of he rookies will have maxed out way before round 9. Trades are more of a premium than ever this year.
Jock, thoughts on one old Lance Franklin? Do you reckon he'll be top 6 forwards come season end?
The way he's looking mate he'll go close. Still hard to lock him in and be comfortable that he'll hit the scoreboard week in week out
I think Buddy is looking very tempting at his current price. We know what we will get if he stays fit and health the odd dud week but will also go large at times, will be around the mark in terms of top fwds.. this weeks the week to do it!
Magnificent effort boys, maybe your best ever!
Who are the most traded out and most traded in this week?
Greene to Parish – late corrective trade but pocketed 160k + Parish still to increase by around 150k (yes IMO this was worth 2 trades).
Hewett to Hartley – Pending Thursdays team announcements.
20k to 235k.
Not textbook but at least I have a war chest and I don't have to sweat on Toby Greene anymore.
Hi – Jock / Crouching – just a question on what are Premiums & Super Premiums (with both long term Keepers):
I've listed below what I think is reasonable – by position.
Def: Ave 100 to 109.9 Premium
110 + Super Premium
Mid: Ave 110 to 124.9 Premium
125 + Super Premium
Ruc: Ave 110 to 124.9 Premium
125+ Super Premium
Fwd: Ave 105 to 114.9 Premium
115+ Super Premium
I know that you need – if possible all premiums & super premiums in your team – but are the averages that I have listed reasonable, to high, or not high enough ??
Your thoughts are appreciated..
For me, if i get a team full of 105+ averages, and a couple of "captain premiums" (Dangerfield, Ablett, Fyfe), regardless of positions, i would say i have a full premium team.
my definition of a keeper is:number of onfield positions x 1.5
Therefore, top 9 def; top 12 mid; top 3 ruck; top 9 fwd
If all your onfield players are in this range by the end of the year, you will be doing VERY well.
You can work out points by looking at Old Ockers spreadsheet. Just search by position and see where the cutoff is for each – will vary slightly year to year. Average is helpful but I tend to think overall pts is important too as it shows durability.
I'd probably say defenders and forwards are bit too high. I'd be pretty happy to call 95-averaging defenders premos. Maybe lower 105 to 97-100 for forwards.
Trading out Gresham but not sure who to.
Ruffles or Hartley?
Or should I trade out brown also and get both?
Just keep him in for a bit, and wait until Freeman, Keays, and Petracca are named and have played two games.
Hartley, get cash early
I wouldn't rush for Ruggles this week, plus Brown still has a negative BE. Hold off, earn more $$$
Sorry this is just an answer for Troy
i need some help
So i got crouch definitely on the chopping block but by trading him and my current funds in my warchest i end up 3k short of danger.
So i though about trading rich and crouch but then by getting danger it puts me in an awkward price range of 423k and theres no one that appealing to get.
So would it be best to get danger+pappley(means i do have to play either menadue or papley at F6
Or go for a cheaper players and get Zach Merret and Luke Parker
Thoughts?
What other mid premiums do you have? If you already have say Ablett, Fyfe or R.Gray then just go for a luke parker, or Zaharakis, or Merrett. Possibly even a JPK or a Ward, all are great options.
unfortuantly i felt i was a smart ass this year after such a great last year and only began with gray, priddis and pendles
That's not too bad Ethan. Aim for Ablett and Dangerfield, best of luck to you. What's your team looking like actually? with only 3 big premiums in the mid you must have the other lines stacked.
nah i decided to go with some midprice madness to begin with
But team is looking like
Def:Shaw, Laird, RIch, JJ, Weitering, Dea (Tippa, Brown)
Mid: Pendles, Priddis, Gray,Cripps, Libba, Lonergam, Mills (Gresham, Dunkley, Davis)
Ruc: Nic Nat, Gawn (Grimley)
For:Hall, Barlow, Wells, Adams, Kennedy, Kerridge (Papley, Mennadue)
Team at the moment with 348k in the bank
Papley sailed last week.
Don't really like Z Merret after his price rise either.
I see people chasing players who score high but then low again. What's better. A score of 150,90, then 120 or someone like ablett who is 120 week in week out?
It depends really, if you already have people who you can nominate as captain and can get those big scores, of course you would prefer consistency.
Is Barlow to JJ a good trade? WIth no Sandi, Freo struggle again?
Barlow is just too slow for me, with Mundy coming back in to the team in two weeks, and with sandilands being injured for a long time, i'd say trade him, however there might be better options than JJ, just shop around for some players.
who do you suggest?
It depends how much you have and who you have in your team already, but i'd say: Hall, Zorko, Ward, Parker, R.Gray, JPK, maybe even Zaharakis or Zach Merret. Just keep in mind that if you select either Zaha or Merrett dont expect 120's every week, they'll probably give you a consistent 100 however.
I think it's worth considering. There are worrying signs not just for Barlow but Fyfe owners too with no Sandi for at least the next 6 weeks and also no Mundy for the next couple probably. Fyfe is a keeper regardless obviously but those who waited to get him in midseason could be the real winners if his output curtails and that price plummets. Will be very interesting to see what happens with both this weekend vs North.
Nonetheless i'm giving Barlow one more shot this week but anything under about 85ish and he could be a candidate for my wooska block next week especially if Duncan tons up again.
Agree with your points and Barlow stays for me if he's any chance at keeping I don't want to waste the trade.
Trading out green and Barlow ?????
Parker and Aaron Young
Thoughts
Not young.
Do you know much about him or just don't like the bloke? His scoring was pretty good last year when not in the vest.
Wore it 8 times……………Vest no longer exists………..Predicted to go up 50k this week. Could be a good stepping stone.
Aaron Young is an interesting one, could you explain to me why you picked him? Just interested in knowing peoples thought patterns when looking for a POD. 🙂
need a few of each in my opinion at this stage if you don't have Ablett you need to get him
I have him. Just saying you would rather consistent scoring.
i like consistent to start with but happy to have a few that can go massive
Do I feel the desire to stick it up my mate next week? Err no Jock, but thanks for asking.
Hey community once again needing some relevant supercoach advice for my team.
Backs: Laird, Bartel, JJ, Weitering, Dea, Rich (Brown, AMT)
Mids: Danger, Fyfe, Ablett, Gray, Wines, Libby, B Crouch, B Ken ( Mills, Hewett, Davis)
Rucks: Gawn, Nic Nat (Cox)
Forwards: Hall, Barlow, Wells, Adams, Kerridge, papley (McCarthy, Menadue)
Was thinking Rich to Hartley/ Ruggles and Crouch up to Parker which leaves my midfield nearly complete for the season and some more cash generation. Not sure if this is the best trades because I would be left with 25 trades after that however I dont see myself trading for a while until our rookies peak after this.
Any advice is welcome good luck this week for fantasy football.
How come you didnt trade out rich last week? I've never personally liked him because he gets to his knees and starts crying every time he receives a tag. You could've gone him to Adams but i guess hindsight is a beautiful thing.
Nah I'd hold on both those trades. Make Davis EME and if he scores 70+ keep Crouch on the field. If less put Mills on for Crouch and have a second crack.
BTW he already has Adams.
the problem with holding crouch is that I dont want to hold a player and then get a 60 on field when i could get at least 115 from parker. Even though rich might score well there isnt even the guarantee he is playing and hartley/ ruggles will be good cash cows
Well i guess i should probably learn to read haha, sorry about that, how much do you have left in the salary cap? If you have a decent amount, think about Rich to Shaw, Houli, K.K (who's playing on the wing, which is a good sign), Docherty, possibly even Kade Simpson, even though he hasnt exactly been lighting it up, he's good for an 85-105 consistently.
about 150k
I'd recommend Shaw or Houli, maybe even a Rance if you want, its really up to you at the end of the day.
what do i do with crouch then in your plan?
Young is a risk could be another Greene. Would be nice if he kept going how he is though.
Whats everyones thoughts on going greene to GAJ?
I personally love it haha, if you can fit it in with your bank balance then go for it. 🙂
Shaw, rance,docherty (brown)
Wietering, dea, Adams (Hartley)
Gaz, Pendles, hanners, Selwood
Cripps, Libba, Oliver, Kennedy
(Menadue, Gresham, Davis)
Nic Nat, Martin
Martin, Barlow, Gray (McCarthy)
Wells, kerridge, ATM (papley)
10k left with 28 trades, can someone help as to how I get hall in as I didn't last week 🙁
The only way you could do it would be through a sideways trade, and i think getting rid of barlow/Gray is the best way to go, dont really like either of them (Supercoach wise).
Sam Gray could be sacrificed I reckon…
I don't have enough cash
I have a question for the community. Does anyone know of a tool that lets you plan out your trades for supercoach? Or one that at least lets you see what your full premium team could look like, just interested to know if there are any out there.
You could just use the Higginator if updated pricing is of no concern to you. Then save each version has planned team week 5 or planned team week 10 for example.
Looking too far into the future in Supercoach can be a perilous exercise. New threats and opportunities are thrown up every week so I reckon you need to be adaptable and not too rigid in your planning.
Thanks Addict, is your name Glenn and is your team called Addicts Anonymous? Im in a league or two with you i think
Yes indeed. What's your team name tuxCS?
I just do up a spreadsheet that includes projected averages and price rise/drops. Not as advanced as other's of course, but due to the fickle nature of SC this has always helped me to get a rough guide for trading.
Is there a template for this? Or do you just make it up from scratch?
I just go from scratch. Very basic. In my opinion, no need to do anything super complicated as plans constantly change throughout the season, just as the others have said.
Thoughts on Petracca Jock? Had 31 touches 6 marks and kicked 2 goals for Casey over the weekend. If selected this week, do we jump on him?
Jocks saying jump on him even if he isn't selected!
You'd have big plums to pick a player on their debut week.
Did that sound like Jock?
Community, I really need your help. I'm completely stuck on what to do next. I feel like this team is a complete shambles and I'm in two cash leagues! HELP!
Defence: Shaw, Laird, Johannisen, T. MCKENZIE, Weitering, Dea (Brown, Hartley)
Midfield: Dangerfield, Fyfe, Parker, Cripps, Liberatore, ROCKLIFF, B. Kennedy, Mills (Davis, Menadue, Keays)
Ruck: Naitanui, Gawn (Grimley)
Forward: Hall, Barlow, GREENE, Wells, Kerridge, Papley (Cox, McDonald-Tip)
I've got $137.9 in the war-chest. I was thinking Rockliff to Ablett but maybe I can hold him since his only one week away. I think I've got bigger fish to fry with McKenzie but I don't know who to get or downgrade too? T. Greene is another problem!
Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys
Holy crap you missed Adams.
Just hand over the cash now mate you're done.
Savage.
Haha yeah was only joking.
Their team looks good actually, just a small bit of maintenance required here and there.
Yeah it isn't as disastrous as i thought it would be when he said "HELP". Just a couple of corrective trades and he'll be fine.
Was hoping to get some advise on Sam Gray . I started with him and still have him should I hold. I have 122,000 in the bank and could trade him to Zorko or Merritt , my worry is that he will score high as soon as I trade him.
Green OUT Kennedy FWD Ablett IN
McKenzie OUT Ruggles IN
It's not a bad team at all once you fix these 2 things up. Keep Rocky
what do i do with sam jacobs
You kinda have to hold him, andd hope his form comes back around, hes a great player and we all know what he's capable of. If he starts to leak SERIOUS money however, trade him off to a Gawn, a Naitanui or a Blicavs.
I have him and giving him one more week. I'm starting to think the loss of Dangerfield has affected him
You cry yourself to sleep?
Trade?
Hold him he will come good give sauce a couple few weeks for him to prove himself.
Very tough start of the year fixture wise for Jacobs – he'll turn it around at some point
Dropping money won't matter at all if you're keeping him, which you should be. Proven, draw is getting easier, and he's durable. Hold every day of the week.
Brad crouch to B. Smith or anyone under 460k
Or
Hold
Or
Crouch down to rookie, Barlow up to anyone…. Robie Gray???
Personally none of those. Crouch down to rookie and either bank the cash and try to upgrade a rookie to premo.
I've got the same problem but with only $450 to go up to – still considering my options and Brodie did come to mind but I think I'd prefer to go down/up if possible
Any other players under $450 worth considering that have premium potential? That's the question…
Only decent rookie options appear to be Hartley (but may get dropped for Grima and), Ruggles (one week early), ciaran byrne (one week early), Petracca (if you want to go early – I already have him and have been using for loop holing purposes) or possibly Ben Keays or Freeman if you want to go early – Parish would have been another option last week at $260 he is mid priced now)
Who have I missed?
I'd rather Lyons over Young.
Next week
I have him as well and am keeping him and trying to not trade sideways. His DE hasn't been good, still gets the ball though.
SC Beast – where are you ? Haven't heard from you for weeks ?
We're very worried, please send postcards
He said he was sick a while back… hope he is alright.
Is Luke Parker going to be a super premo by seasons end?
Thoughts gents
I think its a definite possibility. I also bloody hope that it happens, just traded him in for crouch, lets pray he can keep up a 115-120 average 🙂 In before Southern S calls me retarded.
Settle down mate I'd call you an idiot but not retarded. I do have some respect 🙂
Parker could be a new super premo this year.
I'm going to make a huge (maybe retarded?) call and say parker could have a higher total score than Nat Fyfe this year.
Yes I did just say that. No I am not drunk.
Expect Nat to miss games as he always does.
Just poking fun at you mate 🙂
He could be, don't expect 100s every week
who knows? The way he has started you would say yes. He does have the tendency to have a average month each year. if he can avoid that, he could average 115+
Having Parker as say your M7/M8 come SC finals time it's hard to see how that could go too wrong for you.
Is he 100% guaranteed to be a top 8 mid – well that remains to be seen – but even if he isn't I doubt he would be far off.
I didn't start with Danger but started with Barlow, I want to go Barlow to danger this week, but am $2k off being able to do that, is it worth downgrading Hewett/Menadue to a mid-rookie to get enough cash to trade Barlow for Danger?
By doing so my midfield will look like this:
Danger, Ablett, Pendles, Gray, Selwood, Libba, B.Kennedy, Mills
Hewitt has peaked as well I think. Be 29 if he scores a 50 next week he will go up but not by much. Better to get danger in now.
What to do with Rich?
Hold – I think??
I'm not the world's greatest Rich fan but if he plays this weekend I would probably give him another chance as he did ton up in Rd1, even as ordinary as he looked in Rd2. However I can certainly understand coaches who want to move him on this week especially if he misses again.
Burn him before he burns you.
Barlow to Gray/JJ? Or hold?
Will Nick Roo,Wells,Adams and Libba be keepers?
Cheers 'munnity
If you held him this last week, might as well keep him. The only possible keepers out of the list are Nick Roo and Libba at the moment
Id hold if he is playing. he will average you at least 80ish which is what he is priced at. He should be a last upgrade priority if he doesnt push the 90 mark you would be hoping for.
No trades required this week for the Tophawks.
I have 28 trades and they are like gold. My overall team structure is sound. No major injuries,(I have B.Crouch and T. Mckenzie) and still have Barlow. Got all the top rookies.
I am going to sit tight this week. Just gonna relax and watch the likes of Ruggles, Darcy Byrne-Jones etc before they reach the "bubble". I have loopholes on each line this week. Crouch, Petracca, Loersch, and Mc Kenzie. The glass is half full.
Around 450 points off the lead after round 3.Happy with my start. Time to watch the cash cows fatten and look for juicy premo bargains later.
good start bud and holding firm. good to hear. Ill have 27 after this week with Steele to Danger and then will do the same and hold.
Holding Crouch until he hopefully earns some cash or just holding for now Tophawk?
I know Crouch is out for 2 or 3. It means he now only out for 1 or 2. I will see how Ruggles goes this week. If he back up against the bombers with another 70+ I will probably trade Mc Kenzie out for him. Then I will wait to see if Crouch is named for the following round. If he is, then great, if not then I will have to make a decision whether I use my second trade, and if so, on who. I might still keep Crouch regardless. Especially if Barlow spuds up again, and Ablett continues to score well. I might trade Barlow out of my midfield and upgrade straight to Gaz. I would then have Ruggles as a nice cash cow at the back, then have Gaz, Fyfe, Danger, Parker, Robbie Gray, Ward, and Liberatore as likely season keepers in my midfield. I still would have 26 trades left after these 2 moves. But a lot can happen in a round of footy. Things might change dramatically. In any case, that is the plan for now.
Cheers
Are you playing for overall rankings, leagues or both? Holding off on trading Tmac/Crouch may cause you to fall behind the pack in the overall rankings don't you think? I have both players and I feel if I keep them for another 2 weeks, it leaves me exposed with weak/unpredictable rookies like menadue and brown/tippa on my field. Nearly had hewett on my field last week too!
Hey community getting rid of D Rich and B Crouch please advise on which combo:
Houli and D Menzel
OR
B Smith and L Parker
Cheers
2 by a long way!
agreed
menzel is very risky.
Menzel super risky, obvious injury risk but also a rest risk, that being said he keeps himself fit and it could be a master stroke his game is so SuperCoach friendly evidenced by his game at the weekend where he was only okay and missed 2 pretty easy goals, only had 15 touches not many contested and still knocked out 91sc points, as long as long he's playing he'll make you good cash and be a good on field scorer,
I keep reading posts about trading Crouch, Greene, S. Gray, Barlow etc but I'm a little more concerned about some of my rookies. Menadue and Hewett in particular. I'll be waiting until the teams are named before deciding if I make any trades.
hold as there are no other rookies on the bubble. But i agree as soon as we have other options they will be some of the first to go in my team
dont have a hall and cant side ways trade Greene or Barlow as I'm short on cash do I burn two trades and get him now? I will have 26 trades left
26?!?!??!! You're already behind the ball.
Nothing you can't salvage over the season but you need to hold fire on trading. I'd suggest no, purely because you'd be on 24 trades and the majority of people will be on 28 still.
Think he said he 'will' have 26 trades, which isn't too wasteful. Although the recommendation to go easy on the trades is always a good one.
As for Hall, I wouldnt do a double trade to get him. Stick with the team you chose for now and things will unfold later. There really is a lack of good forwards at the moment, and greene/barlow still have the potential to be up there with the best.
Jocks mention in a previous podcast of sample sizes was very sound advice – 3 games is not enough to determine their future performance, especially when they both had good preseasons. They can come good. All the best
Agree with Jess, if you haven't got him now, don't fall over yourself to get him. Gold Coast have only played the Blues, Bombers and an under-performing Freo. He's had a great start but there's no guarantee that he'll continue pumping out 120+.
What to do with J McGovern and Tobias Greene. Can upgrade Greene to Ablett and still have 180k left. Upgrading Greene seems a no brainer, wondering whether to upgrade McGovern to JJ or Laird. Don't ask why I had McGovern in the first place.
Both sound like excellent trades, Peter. I'd definitely pull the trigger on at least one of those trades – it depends on how many trades you've burnt already
I like GAJ / Laird – worth the coin 🙂
Went with Trent McK at D4 … was hoping he would do a similar job to KK last year. At least score 70-80 each week and be a stepping stone to a premo around the byes. Strongly considering trading him to Jacob Weitering as I think he can fulfil that role. Originally I thought he made defence look too skinny at D4 (I went with Dea instead at D5) but I reckon the kid can deliver the goods. Thoughts?
Price is awkward on weitering right now. I'm assuming you have adams?
yeah have Shaw, Laird, JJ, TMcK, Dea, Adams (Brown, AMT)
Think you probably have to go for it if you can't afford a premium.
Or get Hartley and hope you can get away with two bombers in your defense every week.
Hold I think. Not much point in using a trade on him now as he will increase in price – perhaps not as quickly as a Weitering but he's still going to be useful in terms of being a stepping stone.
Paint the fence – maybe bring in Hartley and upgrade one of your other lines?
Grrrr…nothing more annoying than having to trade out a mid pricer that hasn't made any money but I'm thinking Crouch probably has to go.
Who do we think is the best rookie mid that hasn't played yet to trade too?
I'm thinking that if I have to trade I may as well bank some cash so is it Keays, Freeman, Mathieson?
I have Petrecca already.
Leaning towards Keays.
Is the more donuts the better some kind of new supercoach theory?
No, I was just hoping someone would answer in a fair and even handed way with an opinion worthy of reading so that myself and others might learn from it.
No luck so far then.
He's a very opinionated one isn't he
Eric mackenzie
Off wit ya noggin eat cake
Barlow. Does he go?
Depends on your structure. Worth another look imo but could easily be let go. Must likely needs to go to a premo fwd as most fwds are rather light.
Hold another week with Mundy being out and see how he goes
Is now the time to grab zorko? With his breakeven at a fragile 61 now
Perfect time, especially if you think he will keep it up.
Need some desperate advice Community as I have Rockliff, Barlow, Rich, Crouch & McKenzie.
Thinking of holding onto Rockliff and happy enough with Barlows 99 to hold him as well.
McKenzie and Crouch were meant to be stepping stones to become premos so they will need to go but I guess I can wait as their prices won't change for a few weeks, however Daniel is set to drop by a fair bit so not sure if I should hold Rich or start fixing my team before I lose value.
My options are:
Crouch > Parker & Rich > B. Smith ($144.4k left)
Crouch > Ablett & Rich > Johannisen ($68.9k left)
Crouch > Gray & Rich > Hartley ($431.3k left)
Rich > Hartley ($733.4k left)
Or Hold with $414.6k in the kitty and 28 trades
What would you do? (Variations welcomed) Really need your help guys, thanks for all the help so far this season!
Abs and smith imo
Decent option Hedski, although is Hartley worth missing out on if named again this week?
Smith AA.
Hartley Ess.
Ablett and johannisen
Do you think Gablett is going to get any cheaper than he currently is? He might be a good pick up for the bye rounds, it's just really hard to go passed that price/form of Parker.
I'm still 50/50 on JJ or Smith, unless I just trade both in?
Like this trade, or Ablett + Hartley if looking for cash gen.
Hold Rich. Should return this week and averages 98 against the Gold Coast.
Is Rich worth keeping until seasons end though? If he's not going to perform then I'd prefer to get my monies worth before the price drop considering his B/E is 100+.
S.Gray + Spudlow.
Happy this week if thats my worries.
No trades. FKN BANG.
First time I've held off early ever.
P.S. great t hear schneidr was in the bool cant wait t have a beer wit old ocker over a ck game
Found an interesting stat on JJ. All the games in which he tonned up in last year were at Etihad. He's played all 3 games at Etihad this year thus far. Could there be an issue with him travelling?
The dogs have the softest draw. Mcg × 2 . Cattery × 1. Nsw ×2. Sa × 1. Q × 1. Wa × 1.
1 bye.
14 DOCKLANDS.
Is he a lock then would you say?
Lost two trades #
So would you just hold Crouch then Hedski?
Always better to try and trade in someone you know will play and preferably on the bubble (you don't wan to to risk trading in someone like Petracca and Keays and then they never get a game). Can you use DPP status to trade in Ruggles? Or you have Short on the bubble up forward? Otherwise just hold until a viable option is there, its not as if you are getting any point value anyway looking at Petracca or Keays.
I don't subscribe to this theory. I've got two non playing rookies specifically chosen to loophole for best scores or players I'm concerned about. One of them is petraccanand he will play eventually. Agree it costs you two trades in the end, but I don't want to risk dropped or injured players to help you get the best of two players scores.
Hard call ranger I didn't start with him. Personally I'd go bang I'm good like that ha ha
Yeah I'm leaning towards trading him but don't have the cash to go up so its a sideways (hate that!) or downward trade.
I think Crouch is now five or six rounds away from making good money (if at all) which is too long for mine, so the question really is just do it now or do it later when a rookie is on the bubble?
Do it now and I build a little warchest, do it later and it might get in the way of a rookie being ripe.
Aaron Young is fluttering his eyelids at me too….
Keep an eye on lyons (I think off top of head) from crows only played one game scored well. Cheap dpp could get more of a chance. If he had of been named round 1 he would have been in my squad.
May I add, he averaged 90 at Etihad last year and 61 away from Etihad. Looks like alarm bells to me.
anybody mind telling me what happened to young t.mckenzie over the weekend scored a lazy 4 …. dsnt seem to be injured from what i can find i didnt watch the game either anybody wanna fill me in ? i have brad crouch and god damn daniel rich aswell any thoughts community ? got 54 k to spare and my teams looking pretty bloody healthy otherwise !
Broken nose, should miss a few games. I'm in a similar position but with more cash in the bank, but in your situation I would probably go Rich > Rookie and Crouch > Premo midfielder
He broke his nose in the first quarter, didn't return
Great podcast fellas!! Hey Community, missed the boat on Libba last week due to the time zone here in Brazil and consuming a few to many ambers…should of had him in my original team, went Brad Crouch instead!! Still 400k though thinking of swapping Crouch to Libba. Also definitely going Sam Gray to Parker swing, took a punt on Sam Gray but he butchers his disposal not confident he'll be a keeper. Parker lighting it up early, think he's in for a big year. Got 150k to go Crouch/Libba. Or hold off and use cash on bringing in a Shaw, Josh Kennedy or Goldy type in the next couple of weeks!! What's everyone's thoughts? All the best community 🙂
