Had some cash from downgrading Rocky last week, so B Couch to Robbie Gray

B.A. · 13/04/2016 at 11:11

B.Crouch to Parish, Rockcliff to Fyfe. Thoughts on Jacobs? 64,74 & 95 ain't flash at all. Keep or upgrade to the Juggernaut and burn one?

    Derek · 13/04/2016 at 11:36

Jacobs will have a huge second half of year. Look at Crows draw from round 11 onwards!

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 13:03

Hold Jacobs for sure. Not sure on Parish think he'll drop off as he gets tired

fnaah · 13/04/2016 at 11:18

OK, so Rocky might be back next week, but should I still hold Wingard?

    Derek · 13/04/2016 at 11:38

    I believe he should play

Andrew · 13/04/2016 at 11:21

Sitting comfortably inside the top 1000, leaning towards trading aggressively to climb further.

Toby greene is my only real issue, have the ability and money to move him into the mids and bring in any ultra-premium Or should I stick with him. Already have Gaj, parker, danger, fyfe and callan ward.

Any thoughts/advice would be much appreciated!

    Patch · 13/04/2016 at 13:50

Ripper start Andrew! Robbie Gray the only standout to have in the mids, otherwise I'd follow Derek's logic and look to grab a top forward premium like Zorko or Montagna (who are also big PODs).

      Mister_Spock · 14/04/2016 at 13:17

Thinking along the same lines Patch, but can't decide whether to bring in Zorko before his price rise, or grab Robbie Gray now when he's close to his peak price. Leaning toward Gray for the more stable point production and there's every chance he could peak at $650k and be difficult to bring in later, whilst Zorko may rise initially but plateau at sub $600k.

      Am I over-thinking it?

SC Shelia · 13/04/2016 at 11:32

Hi Lekdog, With T-mac and S. Grays BE so high 166 and 146 which they will most likely not do….you think it still worth keeping them and bleed cash?

SC Shelia

    Derek · 13/04/2016 at 11:42

Players who are keepers you don't need to worry about their price once you have them.

Non-keepers are there to make cash. If they can't do that, corrective trade to someone who can

      SC Shelia · 13/04/2016 at 11:48

      Cheers Derek

    Michael · 13/04/2016 at 11:55

Are you planning for them to be keepers to have come the end of the season because they will rise in cash again. Maybe trade them if there is a player you can afford that you think is going to score more therefore worth trading them.

      Derek · 13/04/2016 at 12:06

Every trade you make from now on should be to either a keeper or a cash-cow.

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 13:04

They are keepers in my eyes, you just gotta ride that train

Chill · 13/04/2016 at 11:39

Anymore podcasts from your fine self Lek? I enjoy listening to your dulcet, if biased, views on players…

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 13:04

Will smash one out this weekend, been absolutely swamped of late

TommyD21 · 13/04/2016 at 11:47

This week im thinking of 2 changes
500k in the bank atm

Lobbe to Gawn
Crouch to Hall

Leaves me with about 133,00 in the bank, thoughts community?

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 13:05

    Also looks good to me

    Ian · 13/04/2016 at 19:51

Looks better than good to me!!!

    DadSmasher · 14/04/2016 at 10:52

I'm not sold Tommy. Those trades will probably generate truck loads of extra points and we all know how opposed the community is to chasing points. To satisfy the community you'd be better off getting a short term witches hat like Hartley and maybe that MKing who's out for the rest of the year

Michael · 13/04/2016 at 11:50

Crouch –> Parker
Barlow –> Dangerfield.

138.1K still left.

My team as it stands is:

B: Laird, JJ, Birchall, Weitering, Dea, Adams (Brown, Broad)

M: Dangerfield, Ablett, Parker, Jelwood, Shiel, Wines, Liberatore, Parish (Mills, Davis, Petracca)

R: Gawn, Mumford (Grimley)

F: Martin, Hall, Wells, Kennedy, Kerridge, Tipungwuti (Papley, Menadue)

What is everyones thoughts on my team?

    Derek · 13/04/2016 at 12:03

what about just Crouch >> Danger and save the other trade.

Not convinced that Parker is a keeper.

      Chill · 13/04/2016 at 12:59

I agree Derek. Assume Michael needs to do the double trade to afford Danger? But if you have stuck with Barlow til now then you might as well stick it out with him as f5/6. He will average between 80-100. Parker I am not convinced by.

      Paul · 13/04/2016 at 15:39

      What isn't convincing about 3 BOG's in a row?

        Derek · 13/04/2016 at 17:06

Don't chace points and don't pay more for him that what other people have.

Only get him if you think he is top 8 midfielder.

I have more than 10 ahead of him

          Pete · 13/04/2016 at 18:34

Parker looks to be a elite premo, just as he has in the past except at a much cheaper price.
It sounds as though, those without him are extremely pi$$ed off about not having him.

All this talk of not convinced Parker is a keeper is utter B/S – If any of these thoughts were remotely true then NONE of your players will look like keepers after round 3.

          UNREAL

            OneTouch · 13/04/2016 at 19:02

champion data currently has Parker ranked 24th best player in The AFL

              chisel · 13/04/2016 at 22:08

Parker will be top 3 scorers if he can avoid injury

        Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 18:34

Early days and whether a young bloke can keep it up all season. Personally I think he can, but I can see why there are doubters.

Jonathan Camac · 13/04/2016 at 12:00

Absolutely cracking cheat sheet Lek Dog! Considering taking it into my maths test this afternoon!

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 13:06

Should help you if the test is on break evens

Andrew · 13/04/2016 at 12:06

Probably R. Gray, priddis and wait and see for the other mid. My thinking re getting a mid over a forward. Is i feel like my forward mids are doing better than my last mid rook (mills) and id be bringing in a more stable player. Nkt overly convinced with some forward premiums

If i dont bring in a mid i think ill hold geene and just watch for another week

Geoff · 13/04/2016 at 12:11

Thinking of going Mills and Rich and bringing in the double of Adams and Caleb Daniel… Thoughts? Also gives me a bank of 130k thereabouts. As stated in the cheat sheet, last chance to grab adams. Not sure Mills has too much immediate growth left, despite job security.

    Luke · 13/04/2016 at 12:36

    Adams is a must have

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 13:06

Not sold on Daniel, don't think he's worth the coin and won't be a keeper. Need Adams this week

    Dan · 13/04/2016 at 14:59

First year playing SuperCoach? Awful trades

Henry · 13/04/2016 at 12:14

thoughts on caleb daniel??

    Derek · 13/04/2016 at 12:26

he would have been nice to start with, but missed boat now.

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 13:07

Not a keeper and too pricey now

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 13:08

Menadue to short and Lobbe to someone you can afford otherwise you just gotta hold onto him another week

      luke · 14/04/2016 at 06:02

      Thanks LEKDOG!

    Benjamima Puddleduck · 13/04/2016 at 17:59

    Seriously..
That is your biggest issue, your laughing. Ride him out till you have enough cash to put in Gold/Martin/Blivacs- which ever one you fancy more.

Solid Team for this time of year!

How many trades have you made and how is your cash Generation?

      Luke · 14/04/2016 at 06:05

So far 3 trades had o McDonald rnd 1 traded to AMT, then barlow to hall, rocky to r Gray, got 79 k and my 2 trades this week still team value 10.7 m

        luke · 14/04/2016 at 06:09

I also believe weitring is an absolute must have and want to bring him in somehow just think his cash generation is to good to miss out on and would be behind the pack if I didn't have him in

    Jake · 15/04/2016 at 01:36

Hold him, you don't need to trade this round.

Jonathan Camac · 13/04/2016 at 12:19

Anyone who is keen to be a rival with me is welcome. Go to leagues, then click on rivalries, add type in 'Camac Attack' as new rival. Look forward to some good competition and banter!

    tuxCS · 13/04/2016 at 13:36

I'll be adding you now mate! πŸ™‚

      Jonathan Camac · 13/04/2016 at 13:51

Awesome stuff mate! I'm doing a bit of a comp, getting people to compete against me, and comparing how everyone goes as a whole against me each week. Then at end of each round, posting results of all rivalries I'm in on the instagram 'SuperCoach Scout'. Can see whether the Scout (me) or the community (everyone rivalled against me) has taken the points each week. Just a bit of fun πŸ™‚ Looking forward to matching up against ya mate!

        tuxCS · 13/04/2016 at 13:52

Yeah i'll follow you on instagram, looking forward to it mate.

    Tuhoe · 13/04/2016 at 18:07

    i'll be adding you too.

    RKC · 13/04/2016 at 21:03

Just added you mate. My team name is 'The Brotherhood'. Ranked inside the top 1%. Anyone else welcome to add me. Cheers.

      ScariesVI · 13/04/2016 at 21:15

Well well well… Trying to pick up some SC tips on the sly, bro…?

        Jonathan Camac · 14/04/2016 at 00:40

Awesome stuff guys! Look forward to it!

OhMyGoddard · 13/04/2016 at 12:36

I have Sheridan, O.McDonald and M.Brown in my DEF, I want to bring in M. Hartley and Houli, I also have Brad Crouch. Keep in mind I only have 12k. What should I do?

    Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 18:43

Trade Oscar McDonald and Brad Crouch. Keep the others.

    Foti186 · 13/04/2016 at 20:28

    Wait till next year. Lol.

Wombatsfc · 13/04/2016 at 12:38

The Hartley call is a bit misleading Lek. Without an injury to another player there is absolutely no way he'll hold his spot when Dempsey and Grima come in this week or next

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 13:09

Well that's why I said if he holds his spot haha, Higgo reckons he'll stay in the team so I'll listen to him

      tuxCS · 13/04/2016 at 13:35

      Praise be to Higgo.

      wombatsfc · 13/04/2016 at 15:25

Higgos on the gear mate, he sees dead people

    Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 18:44

Yes but he's also more likely to return at points in the year. Plus you'd think the bombers would want to give the young defender as much AFL experience as possible.

      DadSmasher · 14/04/2016 at 11:01

Hartleys a top up concession player SS cheetahs have no interest in giving him opportunity in place of contracted players like Dempsey, Francis etc and amongst the other bonus players at Druggamarine is Grima, a much better footballer than Hartley.
If you think that the Cheetahs will give a 1 season hack opportunities over contracted players you're kidding yourself

        Brett · 14/04/2016 at 11:47

I think you will find that Hartley is on the senior list DadSmasher.

I'm not 10% on this, but pretty sure.

          Brett · 14/04/2016 at 11:47

          100%

        Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 12:02

They used their pick no.68 at the draft to get him that tells me they want him for the long haul.

mark · 13/04/2016 at 12:55

I need your assistance community. What does everybody think of Sam Docherty. And would Brodie Smith be a better inclusion than JJ

    CJudd3Votes · 13/04/2016 at 15:59

Docherty has managed to score ok in a team that has copped a few heavy losses, hence i feel like you can be pretty confident he will maintain his current output. By the same token Smith has got history suggesting he can also maintain a decent scoring rate. Either i think both are fair options, just as always make sure the trade is necessary before executing

      mark · 13/04/2016 at 16:06

Thanks mate. It’s McGovern that I’ll be trading out

      SteveC · 13/04/2016 at 23:48

Disagree. Docherty will be much. More consistent. Smith competes with Laird for the finishing kick in the Adelaide defence. Smith also tends to get shut down roles on the best small fwd, which reduces his consistency.

dean · 13/04/2016 at 13:01

are we holding calum mills ? not playing very well

    Derek · 13/04/2016 at 13:09

We said the same about Cripps about this time last year!

      TRIGGER HAPPY · 13/04/2016 at 19:36

Yeah but cripps was playing mids no room for mills in that midfield so he is picking up the scraps in defence. McVeigh may b back this week to..but agree keep as mills still making $.

    tuxCS · 13/04/2016 at 13:34

From what ive seen of Mills, when he gets around the ball he tends to use it well. Its just he's not really getting near the ball enough. Hopefully he'll come good and make us some money. Hold.

    Jonathan Camac · 13/04/2016 at 13:48

Im holding for now, waiting till his price seems to max out. Then I'll pick up the likes of Petracca at this stage.

LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 13:02

That's delicious mate

LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 13:09

Still making cash, yes

sam · 13/04/2016 at 13:21

Derek are you paying the price now for not selecting goldy shaw and libba and going for lobbe rich and crouch also what is your strategy now you are 100000 odd will you sideways trade these 3 or double trade each costing 6 you will need them can you climb back as I am sure there are many in your boat and if any one can do it you will so what to do DEREK

    essendoom · 13/04/2016 at 14:18

couldn't agree more sam but he has his own agenda. All these scs mis trading could be playing into dereks hand remember he did finish 76 last year.Still I don't have to trade but IMO I would trade this week if derek

      Derek · 13/04/2016 at 15:43

Definitely not the start I hoped for.

Last three years have finished 800th, 312th & 76th and was hoping to continue trend. Each year have started slow but never this far back, but I like a challenge.

I'll be holding trades as much as I can, I see this year being tough on players with 1-2 week outs becoming regular as the season goes and anyone who trades a player because they are out for a couple of weeks will soon have no trades left.

Or maybe I'm just old and stubborn.

One thing I am noticing is everyone's complete disregard of the bye rounds, I assume it is because they are later this year. Big mistake. Huge. I already have my trading strategy worked out for the byes with plenty of trades in hand.

You always need a bit of luck with this game, maybe my luck has run out.

This week I was thinking BCrouch to Zac Dawson.

        The Ranger · 13/04/2016 at 18:05

        Nice reminder Derek.
After the R3 correction trades it's time to start some bye planning.
I find that even if i don't achieve what I aim for due to injury or unforesoon circumstance I at least have something to aim at which in theory keeps my trading focused and not random.
Last year all my planning went out of the window because of that mad run of injuries but it felt good to have a plan!

        tuxCS · 13/04/2016 at 18:08

        Whats your overall rank Derek?

          Derek · 13/04/2016 at 21:32

          about 63,000

The team isn't as bad as the rank. Just had bad luck with C choices and injuries. Keeping Rocky and Rich will be POD.

I actually started last year with TBC, Cloke ( Yes… travis Cloke) & Griffin and still did OK.

            Swans2012 · 14/04/2016 at 09:50

Rank doesn't matter yet, only distance to leader does, and even then it's not until about round 5-6 that things start to sort themselves out….anyone saying your out of it already truly doesn't know what they are talking about….

              Derek · 14/04/2016 at 14:15

              Thanks

    DadSmasher · 14/04/2016 at 10:33

Don't stress on Dereks behalf Sam I think he knows what he is doing and it's not panic trading.
It is relatively easy to make up 700-2000 points on the leaders points over the bye rounds and not unusual for well planned teams move up 100,000 places in the rankings during this period, of course the reverse of this is also true. The other great rank jump comes in the final 5-weeks when some teams move from top 10,000 to top 50.

Jimi · 13/04/2016 at 13:23

Hey Lek, I'm thinking of downgrading Greene to Parish, I know that means I'll need to spend another trade on Parish at some point down the line but:

– I've got all the other good cash cow rookies so my downgrade options are limited.
– I've only got 18k so upgrade options are non-existent.
– Parish is still going to go up around $150.
– Parish is averaging higher than Greene so there is not net point generation loss to my side.
– It will immediately add $160k odd which I will need considering my very limited war chest.

Sorry I normally hate posts like this but any wisdom would be appreciated

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 14:26

I'd rather see you do two trades now with someone down to a cheap rookie and Greene up.
I don't really like the Parish call, but if you think it'll work back yourself

      Jimi · 13/04/2016 at 14:55

Yeah I hear you, and I've looked into that too. Problem is I don't have any other mid-priced or premo players that I need to downgrade. That means downgrading a non-playing rookie, at best that could be Menadue to Hartley, that would give me a budget of $522,600 if I trade Greene. At this point in time I don't see many players around that price that I'd be happy with, or confident that they'd make it to the finish line – therefore requiring another trade at some point later in the season. If I'm going to spend 2 trades going the upgrade option and burning all my war chest, I'd rather spend 2 on Parish and make some $$$ in the process.

    Cashcows · 13/04/2016 at 14:33

Two trades for around $150k profit. You decide if it's worth it.
Personally I'd just hold Greene (which is what I'm doing this week).

      Jimi · 13/04/2016 at 14:55

That is also a viable option. I just don't trust Greene as far as I can throw him and I have girly arms.

tuxCS · 13/04/2016 at 13:30

Great stuff as always Lek. I was also wondering what does everybody think of K.Lambert from Richmond? He's been playing a good amount of mid time (from what ive seen) and with scores of 130, 101 and 70 (at half time he was on about 20 points, so 50 points from one half of football when they're priced at 400k isn't bad) he seems like a really good option. Is anyone else considering him/have him in their sides?

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 14:27

Love him, was in my team reveal but didn't make the final cut and I regretted it

cooky · 13/04/2016 at 13:41

thoughts on J Gresham to M McGovern?

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 14:27

Not worth, Gresham down to Short or Petracca/Freeman your best bet

      Paul · 13/04/2016 at 15:54

Trading out someone that isn't playing for another bloke that isn't playing seems like a strange idea. Especially for only about 20k.

        Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 18:30

Mitch McGovern is playing though? I don't understand why people are giving this comment thumbs up.

Although I don't really think trading McGov in is a good idea, at least he seems to have some JS at the moment.

Steve · 13/04/2016 at 13:43

Mills to parish anyone?? Parish looking comfortable in the guts, as well as avging 12 points higher than Mills' highest score, and his two best scores are contributing to his BE for this week? Could make some srs $$

Thanks in advance community

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 14:28

Don't like this sideways trade, hold Mills

    Cashcows · 13/04/2016 at 14:41

No. Using 1 trade for 50-80k difference. If anything it's 2 trades coz they both aren't keepers. Back in Mills.

Nicholas · 13/04/2016 at 13:58

Hey community once again needing some relevant supercoach advice for my team.

Backs: Laird, Bartel, JJ, Weitering, Dea, Rich (Brown, AMT)
Mids: Danger, Fyfe, Ablett, Gray, Wines, Libby, B Crouch, B Ken ( Mills, Hewett, Davis)
Rucks: Gawn, Nic Nat (Cox)
Forwards: Hall, Barlow, Wells, Adams, Kerridge, papley (McCarthy, Menadue)

Was thinking Rich to Hartley/ Ruggles and Crouch up to Parker which leaves my midfield nearly complete for the season and some more cash generation. Not sure if this is the best trades because I would be left with 25 trades after that however I dont see myself trading for a while until our rookies peak after this.

Any advice is welcome good luck this week for fantasy football

    Derek · 13/04/2016 at 17:00

Team looks good. Just wait for the cows to fatten

      Nicholas · 13/04/2016 at 17:34

So what do you think about Rich and Crouch derek?

        Derek · 13/04/2016 at 19:05

Maybe Crouch to Bryne-Jones next week

        Keep Rich

    tuxCS · 13/04/2016 at 18:07

I honestly like your plan that you have already, just wait and see if Hartley/Ruggles gets named for rd 4 before making any trades.

Tommo09 · 13/04/2016 at 14:00

Sitting in the top 1000 but not likely to stay.
Thoughts on trading M.Brown to Hartley???
Also, keep Barlow??
Have $105 left in the bank

Thanks community

    $105k left that is

      Benjamima Puddleduck · 13/04/2016 at 18:05

I Tinkered with it, but the trade is not worth the cash.
Wait for Ruggles to come around

        Dean · 13/04/2016 at 19:50

I prefer Hartley over Ruggles. Not sold on Ruggles JS – It will be a problem.

          DadSmasher · 14/04/2016 at 10:54

Really? What makes you think that Hartley is a better player than Dempsey and Grima?

Marc · 13/04/2016 at 14:01

currently sitting 765 overall, so very happy with that.
team reads:

DEF: Gibbo, laird, shaw, adams, weitering, dea (AMT, Brown)
MIDS: Danger, Gaz, Priddis, Cripps, Wines, Libba, B Kennedy, Mills (Menadue, Davis, B Crouch)
RUCKS: Nic Nat, Gawn (Cox)
FWD: Hall, Barlow, Greene, Wells, Kerridge, Papley (McCarthy, McGovern)

Crouch obviously has to go.
Thoughts so far are Crouch > Hartley, via swinging AMT forward and Wells to MID
or is Short an option?
other issues are Menadue and Greene.
would appreciate some thoughts community.

currently $59600 in bank

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 13/04/2016 at 14:37

So that moves gets you more cash what do you plan to do with it?

Can you double DPP a trade?

      Marc · 13/04/2016 at 14:39

could dump Greene/Barlow for Zorko, etc with the cash made by downgrading Crouch

      Derek · 13/04/2016 at 16:35

hi trigger, you need to know how to do double DPP trades. Even with simple Mid>>Mid trades, you need to look for opportunity to swing players to other lines via double or even triple DPP trades

    Cashcows · 13/04/2016 at 14:47

Hartley > Short for me. Got slightly better JS.

With that cash you could probably do a fwd or def upgrade as well but then hold till rookies are ready to cull.

    @randomcliche · 13/04/2016 at 23:01

I'm not necessarily sold on trading out Brad Crouch bud. Last year I held mitch wallis for a few weeks and it turned out very well for me. Suggest that switch McCarthy and Papley and hold. Menadue still making cash. Greene, you bought the butcher with fair warning, now go lay in your bed. Sideways Greene will put you all those above you with the player you bring in. Suggest holding and learning from the experience. Don't buy him again. I learnt this lesson with Rich last year. All the best.

    DadSmasher · 14/04/2016 at 10:46

Ignore Hartley. Dempsey and Grima are back either this week or next and Hartley and Brown will go back to VFL until another injury

      Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 11:07

We will see when ze teams drop oh smasher of fathers.

steve · 13/04/2016 at 14:13

obstinate person young derek if he doesn't trade he will fall way way off the pace By keeping crouch and lobbe he would lose at least 100 each week.against losing 4 trades and getting Goldstein and gray or libba just doesn't make sense collecting trades for the mantelpiece when the field is bolting away . Make us happy derek trade

KCD · 13/04/2016 at 14:18

Love your work Lekdog. Going Rich > Hartley and Gresham > Hannebery/Priddis/Gray this week.
Problem is I can't split Hannes/Priddis/Gray for the life of me. Will eventually have all 3… But if you could choose one now, and 2 post-bye, who would you go?

LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 14:29

Gray all day every day, has a lowish b/e too. The other will drop in price this week

    KCD · 13/04/2016 at 16:14

Legend! Thanks chief, love your work!

The Ranger · 13/04/2016 at 14:31

Crouch – Aaron Young from Port?
I know it's sdieways but his BE is -46, he's playing a new role with more time up forward, his JS looks good with Schultz and Monfries out and he's just punched out scores of 94 and 101.

    KCP · 13/04/2016 at 14:50

Shhh the herd must not know about this one

      The Ranger · 13/04/2016 at 14:57

      Sorry, KCP, my bad.

        KCP · 13/04/2016 at 15:04

Massive POD and this is the only week you could get him. Scoring over 100 when your team was demolished v Adelaide gives me confidence in his ability to score

          OneTouch · 13/04/2016 at 16:40

If you saw the game, he scored 3 goals, all long range lucky bounce goals. All on the counter fast break when game over. Score was inflated, just be aware.

            The Ranger · 13/04/2016 at 16:44

Yeah, he's not exactly been a gun in previous years either but he was a sub most of the time and his role has def changed.

          Steeeve · 14/04/2016 at 09:12

He's a POD for a reason. Won't keep this up. Goes hard but can barely hold a mark. Byrne-Jones impressed on debut and will likely hold his spot. So when Chad and Hartlett come back (both half forward types, like Young, he'll struggle to stay in the side.

    Danners · 13/04/2016 at 21:44

    Good trade for quick cash

      The Ranger · 13/04/2016 at 22:26

Yeah I'm after fast cash. Last year I missed out on trading some rookies at their peak as you can only make two trades in one week so I'm trying to stagger them more this year and that plan involves raising cash fast.
Still not certain to do the trade!

    Swans2012 · 14/04/2016 at 10:34

Caution those scores have included 3 and 4 goal hauls, will not do this every week, that said will make 100k quick smart….

      The Ranger · 14/04/2016 at 11:11

If he can knock out 80 odd for a few rounds and make me $120K he'll have done the job.

Pendlebury or Ward? Thoughts community?

    Vindude · 13/04/2016 at 15:14

    Ward for sure!

    tuxCS · 13/04/2016 at 18:02

For right now, i'd say Ward, however i have a feeling that pendelbury will be injected back into the mid soon, and once he overcomes his sore ribs, he'll score like the super premo we all know and love. If possible, i'd say wait another week or two before bringing Pendles in, as his price will most likely drop further.

      fatboyfat7 · 13/04/2016 at 18:54

^ What tuxCS said. I'm already planning how to get Pendles in over the next 2-3 weeks.

going to wait for petracca to pop up in the coming weeks (hopefully)

    Paul · 13/04/2016 at 18:48

I'm considering the same. I was thinking about downgrading Mills instead, but it seems stupid to trade a bloke that should still add a little value. Feel like upgrading Crouch in a few weeks would be more rewarding

    CJudd3Votes · 13/04/2016 at 16:03

Not bad options however i'd be debating putting this move off for a week if BE's allow it

Who's place in team did Ruggles take? I worry about Geelong rookies JS

Ruggles is risky for the long term I'd assume.

B: Houli, Laird, Sheridan, Weitering, Dea, Adams (AMT, Cutler)
M: Dangerfield, Ablett, Priddis, Gray, Shiel, Adams, BenKen, Parish (Davis, Hewett, Gresham)
R: Nic Nat, Gawn (lorensch)
F: Barlow, Hall, De goey, Wells, Kerridge, McCarthy (Menadue, Papley)

Thinking of trading Crouch and Lonergan to Zorko/Dalhaus and Ruggles.
Team is currently:
Def: H Shaw, J Bartel, D Rich, J Lonergan, M Adams, M Dea, AMT, M Brown
Mids: N Fyfe, P Dangerfield, G Ablett, D Hannebery, D Shiel, B Crouch, C Mills, S Kerridge, G Hewett, R Davis, J Greesham.
Rucks: T Goldstein, N Naitunai, D Wyatt.
Forwards: M Barlow, A Hall, J DeGoey, D Wells, B Kennedy, T Papley, L McCarthy, C Menadue.

Whoever I bring in will be swapped to the forward line bringing Ben Kennedy into the midfield. Thoughts Lekdog and community with the trade option and who I should bring in between Zorko and Dalhaus.

tuxCS · 13/04/2016 at 18:15

So what's everybody's bye strategy looking like? Because the byes are so late into the season this year, i'm thinking about just using all 3 trades each week with the idea of coming out at the end with a full premium side. The only trades i will make before then will be downgrades and injury trades (depending on the length of it).

Iamme · 13/04/2016 at 18:25

Zorko …Maybe it's just me, but I don't like the idea of moving BenKen to the in Midfield.

50_Shades · 13/04/2016 at 18:30

Benken is a loophole option if you've got petracca and can see another rookie play earlier. Shouldn't really matter which line you have him in.

Yash · 13/04/2016 at 18:31

Idk who to choose, Bachar Houli or Luke Parker. Bachar is 530k and Parker is 580k, just not sure who will be more consistent.

    LEKD0G · 13/04/2016 at 19:06

Having Papley on field kinda sucks too.

      Tommo09 · 14/04/2016 at 14:14

      Thanks for that

Thoughts on trading M.Brown in the next few weeks????

        Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 14:32

His BE is still -19 so he has a bit of growth to go, if he can score reasonably that is. See how he goes over the next couple.

Leeds17 · 13/04/2016 at 18:50

Do i just hold Crouch for a week with no real options around his price or rookies?

    Mac · 13/04/2016 at 18:59

can you somehow upgrade him, easier if you share your team.

      Leeds17 · 13/04/2016 at 19:03

Only downgrade options are Lonergan, Gray, Barlow, Mills all of which I think it'd be smarter to keep for a while longer.

        Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:04

Could go lonergan to hartley then crouch up to premo. Lost of those type of moves happening this week for good reason.

    Phil · 13/04/2016 at 20:41

Yeah I'd hold then you can loophole Davis into him as well. If he's only out for 2, comes back averages 90-100 like we know he can, makes you 200k…..You'll look like a genius.

HOLLA · 13/04/2016 at 18:58

        Ablett and Gray I reckon.

            Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:41

Not totally convinced Parker is ultra premo though, Ablett and Gray are captain material almost guaranteed every week.

              HOLLA · 13/04/2016 at 21:15

tuxCS · 13/04/2016 at 19:05

Another question for the community, are we going to be upgrading Liberatore or keeping him? I feel like if i have the trades and my other lines set up, ill probably go from him to a super premo. i'm also hoping that Fyfe drops in price a bit and i can snap him up for cheap, so he will most likely be my upgrade target from libba.

    Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:03

Libbe will smash out big scores and his fitness will improve. I like the doggies home run I'm keeping him all year saves a trade.

brad · 13/04/2016 at 19:20

hi community would it be wise to trade pendles 2 danger? i know its a sideways trade but its an early opportunity to grab danger who wont go under 600k all year. thoughts please?

    SCaddict · 13/04/2016 at 19:38

I can't say don't do it as I (perhaps controversially) traded Pendles out for Gray after Rd1 and tbh I'm not that unhappy about that after the past fortnight, although that burnt trade may bite me late in the season.

Bucks is copping heaps of flak for playing Pendles down back so hopefully he'll relent and start playing Pendles mainly in the guts sooner rather than later. However until that happens he could be more a 100-105 averaging player. Once back in the middle he'll probably be more of a 115-120 guy.

Danger will likely be a top 3 mid and could go huge this weekend again vs the Dons which could see his price sky rocket towards $700K territory soon.

    So given:
    i) this change of Pendles role (at least for now),
ii) the observation that the Pies may not be improvers this season as some thought after an encouraging NAB, and
iii) the notion that Danger appears to be taking his game to the next level this season
I don't think it's unreasonable to at least consider this trade if you are playing hard for rank.

That's if you don't have another viable way to get Danger in, like upgrading a failed midpricer like B.Crouch or a value premo that hasn't worked out as hoped. That would still be the preferred option rather than swapping one elite for another.

      Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:01

Valid points, I always say don't trade players like pendlebury but I have Danger, Ablett and Hall (yes I'm putting him in that boat at the moment) and I'm pretty sure I'd crack under the pressure and trade them in no matter what I had to do.

        SCaddict · 13/04/2016 at 20:07

Yes I have all those guys too so it can be easy for us to say don't trade.

Just to clarify I'm not saying that everyone should do this trade btw only that I wouldn't blame coaches who did, especially given that Danger looks like he'll be a very handy VC/C option each week for some truly mammoth doubled scores.

But who knows Pendles could be inserted back into the middle and whack out a 150 this week although I wouldn't be counting on it. It's a game of risks and probabilities. You just have to try and make the best decisions with the information at hand and then the rest is in the laps of the fantasy gods. πŸ™‚

          50_Shades · 14/04/2016 at 00:43

I suspect most players would be having bigger issues than trying to sideways pendles. he's a proven premo, still pumping out tons with bbq'd ribs.

Not a good idea. Find another way to get to danger I reckon.

      hedski · 13/04/2016 at 23:52

Holy gazza sc I felt bad for trading sidey t libba for about 2 seconds but pendles??

    Steeeve · 14/04/2016 at 09:16

Danger could certainly dip below 600k, as unlikely as it looks now. Only takes a couple of down games in a three-week span. Or an early stinger where he can't return and scores a 12. Hold your premos.

Gibbs · 13/04/2016 at 19:21

Should I go Sherriden To weltering? Weiters is 70 k cheaper and recon he will average more over the season and generate more cash? Would leave me on 27 trades using 2 last week!

    Danners · 13/04/2016 at 21:39

Yes while he is playing well

Ethan · 13/04/2016 at 19:32

just to start a discussion, Mills has been pretty ordinary fantasty wise and with mcveigh coming back soon could it further impact his fantasty scores? I can't see him getting dropped because he's very hyped up in sydney but his scoring output isnt that great and his breakeven is catching up to his average pretty quickly. Maybe an early cull or should we be getting rid of gresham first or even brown

    Northernsoul74 · 14/04/2016 at 09:35

Trade rookies purely based on JS and B/E.

Jarred Lyons – One game only this year, did well in NAB though and should have decent JS after his performance on the weekend. Tommy Lynch coming back in the side.

Who will be dropped? Atkins? Knight? Mackay?

Toumpas – Don't like his chances with Wingard and Hartlett coming back.

Caleb Daniel – Like the way this kid goes about it, but you've missed his price increase and at 337k he's not a keeper nor really much of a stepping stone.

Could be a waste of a trade although he'll probably surprise me and pull out another few good scores. Gets the pill, even against teams like the hawks.

Matthew Wright – He's alright. Missed the price rise and my problem with this guy is he sometimes tags, or just plain goes missing.

Does look good at the moment however I'd probably take Caleb Daniel at a similar price and part of an exciting doggies squad. That saying I can't see myself using two trades for these 300k+ stepping stones that could fail to generate serious cash.

Fantasia – 280k and has scored consistently for his two games, 23 touches in each. Can you trust him though? What is he to you?

A keeper or a stepping stone? One trade in, and another trade out to make how much profit? Don't like it.

      lachie08 · 14/04/2016 at 07:48

thanks heaps. but what do u think of Mezels scoring ability

Bp1 · 13/04/2016 at 19:36

G'day lekdog and community.

I've got all the good rookies. I'm looking at
Trading Macenzie down to Ruggles

Now 277k in the bank…..upgrade Greene
To R. Gray? Or FWd and take a punt on Buddy
At only 480k and have cash for next week.
Thoughts!????

Yash · 13/04/2016 at 19:42

I have a total of 818k after trading two of my players and I have a wide range of players to choose from in the midfield. I can choose either Luke Parker (577k), Tom Mitchell (580k), Priddis (609k), Blicavs (573k), Callan Ward (578k), Hannebery (610k) or Dahlhaus (566k), have no idea who to pick. The thing I'm worried about is that if I get someone who is very high in price, idk who I'd get as my second player, with around 200k left over.

    Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 19:57

    Who'd you trade out?

      Yash · 13/04/2016 at 20:08

Well I'm thinking about trading Daniel Rich and Jack Watts (I know he's a bit shit but had to get someone)

        Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:09

Maybe you need to do a premo and rookie trade in.

          Yash · 13/04/2016 at 20:11

          Yeah who then lol

            Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:19

Should I tell you what to have for tea tonight too?

            πŸ™‚

Probably Hartley and any of Ablett, Danger, Hall, Gray, Parker, Ward.

Saundo · 13/04/2016 at 19:54

What do people think of Zac Merrett?

    Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 19:56

    Solid for your forwardline

      Saundo · 13/04/2016 at 19:59

      Actually midfield upgrade from Miles

        Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:10

Put him up forward later then, and trade in a solid 600k premo for the mid at some point.

          Saundo · 13/04/2016 at 20:12

Don't think I can keep Miles any longer!

            Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:20

Yeah trade him out now, bring merret in the mid.

Then later you can shimmy merret into the forward line when you trade out a ben ken or somebody.

    Danners · 13/04/2016 at 21:38

Has only played teams in the bottom 10 last season, I feel he will fall away later in the season

      tuxCS · 13/04/2016 at 22:11

His team is going to get smashed regardless of opposition. Doesn't really matter who he plays, if he can score then he can score

    Beady Eye · 14/04/2016 at 10:02

I think he is a nice young man, very polite and respectful of his elders.

    Clarky · 14/04/2016 at 14:28

He is getting a lot of the ball, and he is a tackling machine. Although last friday night, he butchered the ball a bit. Hopefully this improves. He is a very solid forward pickup.

Kanga · 13/04/2016 at 19:55

Hey all.
scored 2260. thats also my 3 2ound average.
One change, Sheridan to Hall, via some DPP.
Sheridan will now drop money, hall will onl increase and seems he will be top 10 fwd.
Thoughts on that please

    Yash · 13/04/2016 at 20:09

Yeah good, Hall is a gun

    Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:11

I'm holding Sheridan for another couple of weeks, but you don't have Hall.

    YOU DON'T HAVE HALL!

      Kanga · 13/04/2016 at 20:23

yeah, had to bin rocky and barlow last week coz i didnt have gaz or JJ.
Wow, sounds worse now that its in writing. still not unhappy with my ave.
Lucky i HAD cash for corrective trades. After this week just 4k left.

        Dean · 13/04/2016 at 21:29

I traded out Rocky & Gresham out last week for Hall & Papley. I don't understand why people want to bring in Hall now after his price has jumped $60,000.

          Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 21:51

Because he has no signs of slowing down and is still under priced.

Can you ignore the potential no.1 fwd this year……..

Ben · 13/04/2016 at 20:10

G'day lads,
This week I'm looking at doing the following trades:
Crouch-Martin
Greene-Merrett
I will then swap kerridge and martin around to have him in the fwd line.
This now leaves me with 5k and 26 trades in the bank.
Previously i have been good at saving trades until late in the season, ( kept heeney for 10 rounds straight last year πŸ˜‰ )
My team is this now,

DEF: Laird, Shaw, Sheridan, Weitering, Dea, Adams (AMT, Brown)
MID: Dangerfield, Ablett, Dangerfield, Fyfe, Liberatore, Graham, Wells, Mills (Davis, Menadue, Hewitt)
RUC: Goldstein, Martin (Goetz)
FWD: Hall, Martin, Z Merrett, Kerridge, Papley, Kennedy (Milera, Mcgovern)

Currently not sold on pendles playing off half back (**** you Nathan Buckley useless **&*)
Stef Martin hasn't been doing as well as i would of liked but confident he can turn it up in the coming weeks. ( has played goldy and nic nat to be fair)
Sheridan needs to get back to his rd1 form but JS is good as long as ross doesn't get sacked :')
Lastly Graham hasn't been performing at the level i expected based on nab and last years form. Will probably hold until i can upgrade with generated money.
Any thoughts are much appreciated on my team, i feel like i may have lost my strategy a bit with the early season madness!

    Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:22

Your team is solid Ben especially after the trades. Like it a lot good luck.

      Ben · 13/04/2016 at 20:23

      Cheers Mate!

    HOLLA · 13/04/2016 at 20:33

Why do you get two dangers?

      Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:38

Yeah hold on what happened there lol, must've missed it……Ben's a cheat!

Samantha · 13/04/2016 at 20:22

LekDog & community.

This is my 2nd year playing SC and im reading posts that mention doing double & triple DPP trades. I don't understand what this actually means can you please HELP explain this to me.

Here is my team.
DEF: Adams, Laird, Rance, Weitering, Dea, Rich (AMT, Brown)
MID: Danger, Ablett, Fyfe, Libba, Wines, Kennedy, Kerridge, Mills (Menadue, Davis, Dunkley)
RUCK: Goldy, NicNat (Grimley)
FWD: Hall, Wells, C Rioli, Papley, Motlop, Barlow (McCarthy, Wyatt)

I understand for example that if I trade out Barlow then click on the grey (S) next to say M Brown this will allow me to bring in say a Gibson in defence for Barlow and that would also move M Brown to my forward line. I'm not going to make this trade by the way, im just using it for a example. Is this what is classed as a double DPP trade, if the answer is yes, then how do you do a triple DPP trade?

Any explanation on how to double & triple DPP trade will be greatly appreciated.

    Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:31

For example this week I'm going crouch (mid) out.

Ben ken (mid/fwd) from FWD into crouch's MID spot.

Then I'm moving Adams (def, fwd) up from DEF into ben kennedy's FWD spot.

Leaves me with a hole in my defence which I trade Hartley into.

Not sure if that's a double or triple though πŸ™‚

    Jabba07 · 13/04/2016 at 21:27

Yep took me a while too, but just hit he trade button and trial/error you will work it out. You can always reverse!

Mac · 13/04/2016 at 20:30

I'll do my best to explain. For example, you are able to sub Kerridge and Barlow between mids and fwds as they have DPP (Dual Position Player). You can click the (S) Button and sub them either way as they can play fwd and mid. If you would like to trade Barlow who is in your forward line, you have a few options. Select another forward as thats the position your losing a player from. 2. You can sub Kerridge fwd and select a mid fielder as Kerridge has switched from mid to fwd and the spare position is your midfield. 3. You can switch Adams/Brown/AMT from your backline fwd and select a back man as you have subbed one of those 3 fwd and now are in need of a backmen. You can do multiple ones as well. Example you trade Gaz out (no idea why you would) and you can sub Barlow into the mids. Then your in need of a forward as Barlow has covered Gaz's position and you now need a fwd. Say there are no good fwd options, so you swing Adams/Brown/AMT into your forward line which allows you to pick a defender.

This is the best explanation I got, hope you can make sense of this πŸ™‚

    Samantha · 13/04/2016 at 21:05

firstly Mac thanks so much for taking the time to explain it. However I don't fully understand what you mean.

Could you try to simplify what you mean by talking my through it step by step as my team has been revealed.

    For example:
#1 move, click on SUB on Kerridge
    #2 move, whatever u say
    #3 move, whatever u say
    #4 move, whatever u say

Maybe this way I can understand exactly what u mean, at the end of it all, it wont matter as I can reverse all trades, I just want to learn what all these moves are and how to go about them.

Sorry about any inconvenience, if its too much hassle its ok.

Thanks though for explaining all the same.

      Mac · 13/04/2016 at 21:33

      Say your trading out Ablett

#1. You can trade him for another midfielder, by simply trading him. Or you can swing him with DPP players. DPP players are players who can play multiple positions. You can tell my looking at them in your team and if they have dpp, their second position will be in grey next to their team name.

#2. If you don't want to trade another mid for Gaz, you can trade in a fwd by swining Barlow into the mids, who had dpp (can play fwd/mid) by simply clicking trade on Gaz. On the left side of the trade screen you will see your team lineup. Scroll down to Barlow and click the (S) on him. This will sub him into the midfield and will allow you to select a fwd player.

#3. If you do this swing with Barlow and don't like any of the fwd options. You can go up to the top of your team (still on the same page on the trade screen) and swing Adams/AMT/Brown into your fwd line as they have dpp to be in the fwd line. Swinging one of these 3 into your fwd line will allow you to select a defender.

By doing this, trading Gaz you need a mid to fill his spot so you either trade or you sub barlow into mids. Then you need a fwd to cover Barlow's spot, so you either trade in a fwd or swing one of the 3 players mentioned above into the fwd line, then you need to select a defender.

Hope this is easier to understand?

      tuxCS · 13/04/2016 at 22:08

      #1 Click Trade on Barlow
#2 Click the "S" on Kerridge to bring him into the forward line
#3 This will then enable you, in the trade menu, to select a midfielder.

        Samantha · 13/04/2016 at 22:48

Thanks tuxCS – I knew that part, its all the other stuff I didn't know such as a Triple DPP trade.

    Samantha · 13/04/2016 at 22:09

Ok got it I think. For example:
#1 – Click on the Trade Wines button
#2 – Click on the grey (S) next to either Hall, Barlow, Motlop or Wells in my forward line. So lets say I chose Barlow just for a example.
#3 – Click on the grey (S) next to M Brown in defence

By doing this I then get to pick a defender for Wines, so lets say I pick Gibson.

So by doing all this in the one trade it allows me to get Gibson for Wines and it has also moved Barlow from my FWD into my Midfield and also moved M Brown from my defence to my forward line, which would now allow me to bring Adams or AMT to my forward line via Brown if I wanted to.

Ok thats awesome, that must be a triple DPP trade, that is extremely important in order to allow us to move our DPP players. As I initially had all Adams, AMT & M Brown in my defence which did not give me the flexibility to move anyone of those 3 rookies up forward, however through this triple DPP trade it would now give me that flexibility to move either Adams or AMT to my forward line.

Thanks allot Mac and the rest of you. Its very much appreciated.

needhelp · 13/04/2016 at 20:31

Brad Crouch-Robbie Gray, and perhaps tommy sheridan-marcus adams or hold? Used heaps of trades already, so not sure on this one

    Danners · 13/04/2016 at 21:37

Both good trades, Adams is a must

Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 20:37

No Marcus Adams is supercoach suicide.

He had to be locked last week, but I suppose you should now anyway, even though you missed his 90k price rise…………..

    needhelp · 13/04/2016 at 20:41

Yeah just couldn't get him in last week unfortunately, but sheridan hasn't exactly been playing bad with a 97 in the first round. Trade for Adams as he still isn't exactly very pricey just yet and still with plenty of money to make. Thoughts? cheers

essendoom · 13/04/2016 at 20:52

Derek IS deans comment above re your chances and stubbiness to trade justified.. have you got a chance or is it just league wins. I hope you bounce back but it makes sense that teams are similar not many pods. I think I might change tact .try to catch up a bit.How far is too far behind..youre about 1000 is it too much is conserving trades the way sidewould trades or what too confusing only a piker at this

    steve · 13/04/2016 at 21:29

seem to vaguely recall derek discussing how coaches in the early rounds crow about their greatness but in later rounds when trades disappear they become silent .Could have it wrong but maybe he is right if your reading derek am I right… good luckanyway

      Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 21:50

Yep a few rounds means nothing in supercoach. Watch many of the top teams crumble when injury or bad trading strikes them down.

        steve · 13/04/2016 at 21:59

thanks ss changed my mind not going to chase points saving trades refer to comment re hight watcht in last three rounds when coaches with no trades lost 300 each game .THATS 900 exactly what derek is behind ..All in dereks situation are not a complete lost cause still learning the caper

          Derek · 13/04/2016 at 23:17

It's the same every year. Some players fly out of the gates. To keep their rank they chace points and burn trades. They soon fade away.

Last year I took a donut second week rather than trade Sam Mitchell when he was a late out, as a result I was around 33,000th.

I'll need luck from where I am but I'm going to stick to my plan and in the long run I'll be up there again when the whips are cracking πŸ™‚

            Derek · 13/04/2016 at 23:19

Imagine the howls if Parker, Goldy and Hall get injured this week!

              Holty · 14/04/2016 at 09:10

agree with all your reasoning Derek. Although my SC last year was horrendous with injuries etc, it was my RDT that excelled. Held trades and keptfaith in my premiums. Started slowly but came home in a flurry. Still had 6 trades remaining with 4 rounds to go. Easy to catch the leaders as most have used up all their trades that deep in the season.

              Monkey_Magic · 14/04/2016 at 09:30

Good plan Derek, stick to your guns.
I'm having a dilemma this week…I like Aaron Hall for plenty of reasons, had him locked to start but flicked at the last moment to Greene, oh the pain! Oh well, holding Greene, holding Barlow, looking at trading Mills and Menadue for Hall and Hartley. Mills and Menadue might revive their money making or am getting them out a week earlier then most? Thoughts? Hall is looking fantastic, cheap as he will be all season (except for last week). Good plan or?
Plan B, miss Hartley, trade Mitch brown to ruggles next week, target Dusty in a few weeks time, thoughts?

              Northernsoul74 · 14/04/2016 at 09:33

Haven't the winners the last few seasons all traded hard at the beginning and held on?

                Holty · 14/04/2016 at 16:28

very true but not many would have won their leagues i would think.

Yvraith · 13/04/2016 at 21:03

OUT: Rocky & Rich
IN: Parker & Hall

Good move or bad move?

    Yash · 13/04/2016 at 21:19

    I believe it's very good

    Jabba07 · 13/04/2016 at 21:24

I'd say yes, however I have Rich and am holding until I get a better gauge on his form.

    Derek · 13/04/2016 at 22:48

Is this post a week old?

    Jabba07 · 14/04/2016 at 11:28

Bang. Rocky listed as a "test" though so check the lineups

    Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 11:58

Rich for hall, stick by Rocky now.

john · 13/04/2016 at 21:16

Sort of correct Dean, except last year the last 3 rounds with players out and trades to make was a big difference in the end. Most of the top teams lost because they played short in the last round vs the Nights watch. thats a good 300 points per round then.

Yash · 13/04/2016 at 21:17

Ward or Parker?

    Jabba07 · 13/04/2016 at 21:26

Got them both. I think Ward will be solid 110+ all year, Parker will too, but will deviate a lot more both ways. Obviously when the finals start he can be a game winner or loser!

      Yash · 13/04/2016 at 21:27

Alright cheers Wanted to also ask about dahlhaus?

        Yash · 13/04/2016 at 21:29

        And blicavs, sorry.

        Jabba07 · 14/04/2016 at 11:08

Forward line difficult. I'm looking closely at him but prepared to wait. Jumped on S.Gray from J.Steele early on and feeling burnt! Maybe see where Montangna sits in a week or two as he is surely a top 6 fwd.

    Danners · 13/04/2016 at 21:36

Ward if you want a POD

Brent · 13/04/2016 at 21:19

Jesse Lonergan – to me he seems to be treading water & has been tagging opponents , BE 70, Average 79 – thinking of upgrading to B.Smith or going down to Weitering ?

    Holty · 13/04/2016 at 23:19

im happy to hold him at present. while he is averaging 80 as a midpriced backman, jm happy with that. I think there are far better ways to use your trades early on then on someone who in the end is averaging more then their value. Just dont think its worth a trade this early on in the season.

    Luke · 14/04/2016 at 11:50

    Definitly down to weitering

      Luke · 14/04/2016 at 11:51

wietering will go up atleast 150k more most well atleast get the cash generation as lonergan will stay at the 80 avg

    Phil · 14/04/2016 at 12:42

I'm holding him as Brisbane are rubbish are clearances and there is nobody there to tag. Priddis, Selwood & Danger all went 140+ against them

Jabba07 · 13/04/2016 at 21:23

Any thoughts on Jeremy McGovern community? His scores are hardly trouser stretching. As a "swingman" I'm nervous as he just has to score goals to get points. Have I erred community, should I cut my losses while he is still 400K?

    Kev · 14/04/2016 at 08:41

I'm in the same boat, Jabba. To make matters worse he is listed as a test this week with a dodgy AC joint. When he played injured last year he wasn't at his best. Only have 38k in the bank so can't trade up to any of the big boys, the best I can do is B. Smith which I'm reluctant to do because the burns are still painful.

Hate jumping on rookie when he's not on the bubble, but Ruggles might be option. That 300k would come in handy for rookie upgrading in a few weeks

      Jabba07 · 14/04/2016 at 09:42

I've got another issue in B. Crouch. I reckon McGovern's shoulder is the same issue from last year – do you know? So I'm thinking ditching both McGovern and Crouch and going Uber Premo/Rookie combo in either R Gray or va DPP Montangna and either Darcy Bryne-Jones or Ciaron Bryne at Carlton. Not keen on Hartley and have the otehrs. So many trades early but with injuries, its unavoidable.

        Kev · 14/04/2016 at 10:44

I reckon Gray and Montagna are priced at their ceilings and won't be moving around too much, so if you choose to grab one of them go with whichever line is your weakest. Neither of the Byrne's inspire much confidence, With Carlisle out for a month Darcy might hold his spot long enough to make you cash, his d.e% last week was arousing.

I know how you feel mate, I was struck with the great LTI's of 2015. Seemed like no matter what I did they'd be a fresh injury every week!

    DadSmasher · 14/04/2016 at 10:36

His shoulder is held on with crazy glue and when he gets sweaty the glue degrades and he spuds it up. I started with him and almost switched him for Waite last week but reversed 30 minutes before the first bounce.
This week he is gone for A Young via some DPP. He has potential but I doubt that he'll show it until later in the season and by that stage he'll only be 320k

      Jabba07 · 14/04/2016 at 11:14

Ha! Ok there is some insight for me, thanks…. Smasher…. are you sure about A Young? Looks a tad sideways?

        Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 11:22

Young is bloody risky and his scores are big because of goals. Beware.

          Jabba07 · 14/04/2016 at 11:27

Agreed – relying on 7 goals so far for his returns. Unsustainable, however with Shultz gone for 8-10 weeks, JS looks good. So maybe a good bet after all. Hard one, i'd wait for more data.

            Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 11:31

He's not a tall forward though, If he's still in the team when wingard and hartlett come back he's worth a look.

Vinchenzo · 13/04/2016 at 21:41

Got cash to upgrade Rich to Ablett via swing trade. Can also go Gresham to anyone besides Fyfe or Gaz. Just concerned Gaz will be tagged in his next two, espcially playing Jacobs next round. Similar concerns with Fyfe. Already have Danger, Parker, Gray, Shiel and Libba. Thoughts community?

    Jabba · 13/04/2016 at 23:01

I think you are spot on. I'd sit on Rich, you picked him for a good reason. I prefer gaz if you pull the trigger! I've got Selwood, building nicely after a slow pre-season if you want to upgrade.

      Kev · 14/04/2016 at 08:32

Be interesting to see if Jacobs goes to Gaz or Hall. Fantasy Freako's rave for the week has him with a higher ranking for disposals, handball-receives, inside 50s, metres gained and scoreboard impact at the Suns than Gaz.

    DadSmasher · 14/04/2016 at 10:40

Gaz was tagged by the best tagger in the game last week and he scored 120

ScariesVI · 13/04/2016 at 21:42

Rich to Doc, KK, Simpson or Burgoyne…?

    Southern S · 13/04/2016 at 21:48

    Any of them except burgoyne.

    Jabba · 13/04/2016 at 23:01

I'm holding Rich… He will be back!

    Phil · 14/04/2016 at 12:40

    KK, Doc, Simpson, Burgoyne

      LEKD0G · 15/04/2016 at 00:43

      Hold Rich

ian · 13/04/2016 at 22:17

which trade is better

Gresham to Buddy

or

De Goey to Zorko/Joey/Zerret

Jabba · 13/04/2016 at 23:02

I like degoey to Zorko

Banksie700 · 13/04/2016 at 23:11

boys boys boys, t. mckenzie down to hartley then barlow up to zorko thoughts?

    Chill · 14/04/2016 at 10:03

wait to see team lists but sounds good

    Jabba07 · 14/04/2016 at 13:50

Prefer Ruggles, but maybe worth holding Barlow? You did the hard yards, he got a 99, Mundy out…. Worth the wait I reckon. I ditched him last week, regret not waiting for a few weeks now.

TRIGGER HAPPY · 13/04/2016 at 23:21

Interesting fact.

Petrecca is in almost 30% of teams and the kid is yet still to play a game of AFL!

That means he is in more teams than goldy, gawn, nic nat, JJ, parker and pendles.

I assume people are using him as a loophole. Just thought i would share that tid bit.

NO pressure Christian!

    Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 10:59

Petracca still not ready for AFL according to Roos.

Nathan Jones says he is still 'a couple of weeks away' so who really knows when he will play, they are in no rush to get the kid who had a knee reco into the team.

So 30% of teams having him is kind of ridiculous. He is going to be a great downgrade target though for those using their benches for profit right now.

    Cozza · 14/04/2016 at 13:47

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Unless using Petracca as loophole (in which case, who is their R3?) they will all be at least $150k-$250k behind those of us who have a playing rookie who will be downgraded for Petracca when he is on the bubble. Just wasting potential money having him on the bench.

      Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 14:27

There's people that are happy sitting on a donut for half a season. Literally people have posted they are happy to have picked Petracca…………………..

Doesn't make sense to me either but hey we don't want everyone making lots of profit or it'll be harder to beat people later in the season.

        Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 14:28

*Well I've seen one person post they are happy with the decision, and I assume others are too or they wouldn't have picked him knowing he wouldn't be playing for several rounds at least.

hedski · 14/04/2016 at 00:07

Fwds. Hall Spudlow S.Gray Adams Wells Kerridge BenKen AbrahamLincoln Tippa Paps Menadue Brown Petracca Loersch.
Holy shit half my teams fwds!!!

50_Shades · 14/04/2016 at 00:45

It makes sense… Melbourne have many late weekend games, so he's a great loophole whilst we settle our playing rookies.

And when he does play, we're all hitting a big pay day!

    Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 11:00

Hitting a big pay day? jeez hype much. Anything could happen.

    TRIGGER HAPPY · 14/04/2016 at 13:03

Melbourne may have late games now but played early first two games so would have been hard to loop. For this reason I went Ruggles as cats had first two Sunday games so gr8 loop and now he had done his job he can start to moo.

Will grab petrecca after two games when on the bubble when one of the cows in my team is ready to slaughter.

Adam · 14/04/2016 at 07:55

Who should I trade in out of Zorko, Dalhaus and Montagna. Zorko averaged 110 after Round 15 2015 and his form has continued. This week his price changes and will move to approximately 570,000 and has a breakeven of 60. Should be a top 10 and top 6 forward by years end. Also a POD due to his suspension in Round 1. Dalhaus is currently averaging about 15 contested possesions and 8 tackles a game. Is averaging 113 due to his 150 last week. Breakeven of 93 and his next four games are at Eithiad where he has a good record. Next 5 matches are Carlton, Brisbane, North, Adelaide and Melbourne. Should be a top 10 and top 6 forward by years end. Montagna is consistent and capable of a 110 average. Will be a top 10 forward and should be top 6 and could even be the highest scoring forward. Only problem is he needs a lot of the ball to post of a high score.
I am leaning towards picking Dalhaus but would like Lekdog and the community's opinion as to which player to bring in.

    50_Shades · 14/04/2016 at 08:23

I'd lean to Montagna. Proven consistent form over a long period. Id put Zorko 2nd then Dalhaas.

    Kev · 14/04/2016 at 08:26

All good choices, so it might come down to personal preference. Zorko is running hot as you pointed out, Dahl went sub 100 in his first two games, so his average is inflated, also a lot of competition at the dogs. Depending on how superstitious you are, Montagna's recent yearly averages
    2013 – 114.7
    2014 – 89.3
    2015 – 110.7
    2016 – ??

      Adam · 14/04/2016 at 10:19

With Dahl's sub 100 games it was due to his tendency to handball thank kick.
41 disposals with 11 kicks and 30 handballs. Also 24/41 were contested.

    DadSmasher · 14/04/2016 at 10:42

Robbo is pretty cheap and knocked out 100 playing a defensive role in a team that got smashed last week

leviathan · 14/04/2016 at 10:18

Hi community,

I have Trent Mc Kenzie, Brad Crouch and Michael Barlow. Should I trade out 1 or two of these this week? I am thinking of grabbing either Ruggles or Hartley, and I want Zorko. Should I pull the trigger this week or wait one more week?

Its a tough one. I still have 28 trades.

Thanks

    Kev · 14/04/2016 at 10:30

With Crouch listed as out for 2-3 weeks I'd look at moving him on. There was a concern over his durability in the preseason and that concern is now the reality. Some concerns over Hartley's js with Grima now fit to play, wait for teams to drop. Hold Barlow

      Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 11:03

They need to trade mckenzie too he has a broken nose and won't be back for weeks, not only that the score of 4 has ruined him.

    Jabba07 · 14/04/2016 at 14:01

Id trade McKenzie and Crouch. Look for a genuine premium and a rookie – Ruggles seems to be the go.

Nolan · 14/04/2016 at 10:37

I have rocky with only 569 if I trade.

should I go zorko/dollhouse or make 2 trades for grey/hanners?

    Jonathan Camac · 14/04/2016 at 11:04

    Which Gray are you trading??

      nolan · 14/04/2016 at 11:08

      Trading robbie in

        Jonathan Camac · 14/04/2016 at 11:11

Ahh I see. Hard to justify trading Hanners out. The guy is averaging 115 and you want him out?? Hold.

          Blakeyp · 14/04/2016 at 12:15

Think he is talkin about bringing hanners or gray in

            Jonathan Camac · 14/04/2016 at 12:21

I see. Well in that case, I suggest Gray. Absolute gun.

              nolan · 14/04/2016 at 14:51

              Sorry gents
meant use 1 trade to zorko or is it worth using 2 trades to get grey

HallyM8 · 14/04/2016 at 10:38

Who should I trade out of Sam Gray and Barlow for Zorko? Or should I hold both
Thanks

    Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 11:04

All aboard the Zorko train! Beware following the herd.

    Adrian · 14/04/2016 at 13:25

Keep Barlow. He is a good player. Slow start for Freo.

Yvraith · 14/04/2016 at 11:13

Cheers for the replies.

I had other priorities last week.
Like turning Luenberger into Goldy. (A starting team gamble that didn't bear fruit.)
Considering the Brisbane lads didn't play, they weren't losing money (thankfully Rich didn't play).

But based on form I figured it was a good idea to grab them this week, while I could afford it.

leviathan · 14/04/2016 at 11:37

Brad Crouch to Aaron Young this week or to Jarryd Lions next week? Lions is tempting as he has dpp status.

Or leave both alone and hold trades for the week
Thanks

    Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 12:04

Very similar story last year for these guys, they were wearing a lot of vests.

I'd call Jarryd Lyons a better quality player but job security could be an issue for either player.

    Phil · 14/04/2016 at 12:37

Hold a week, use Crouch as a loophole with Davis/Menadue. Give Young a miss. In 1 weeks time you're going to know more information on; How long is Crouch out for? Also, is Lyons worth trading to?

Kush · 14/04/2016 at 11:39

Gray or Parker? Also is Michael Hartley playing this week?

    Kush · 14/04/2016 at 11:46

    Or Priddis*

    Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 11:56

To know if Hartley is playing we have to wait for the teams to be announced tonight……………

Northernsoul74 · 14/04/2016 at 12:07

Looks the gamble to start and hold Petracca was a mistake. Still a few weeks away by the sounds of it.

    Adrian · 14/04/2016 at 13:23

Will bring in Petracca after he has played as couple of games and downgrade.

      Derek · 14/04/2016 at 14:24

The HGodard of last year. Had him week 1, finally got a game week 16

        Monkey_Magic · 14/04/2016 at 22:26

Ha ha, Ahhh Goddard, well at least we can now use the fully functional ability of the loop hole called Christian Petracca!

Andrew · 14/04/2016 at 12:20

Who to trade out of:
Lonergan and Sheridan
S. Gray and Barlow

    Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 12:28

Do you need to trade? Who are you planning on trading to?

      Andrew · 14/04/2016 at 12:43

      Sheridan > Weitering
      Barlow > Zorko

BloodyFranklin · 14/04/2016 at 12:25

Wines + Barlow -> Gray and $399,000 to spend.

Mids are: Parker/Danger/Gary/Titch/Fyfe/Libba/Mills/Wines with Menadue/Davis/Hewitt on the bench.

My forward line: Hall/Wells/BenKen/Paps/Kerridge/Barlow with Milera/AMT on the bench.

Who to spend the money on?: Petracca(if named)? L.McCarthy? <- Leaves me some cash. M.Suckling even? <- Leaves me a poor man.

Forwards have been scoring okay but feel really skinny up front.

Is this trade completely and utterly stupid??? Or should I just keep the trades/hold and hope? Perhaps pick up Gray later on?

Like I said in a recent post, I'm only new here so any help or advice would be appreciated πŸ™‚

Cheers!

    Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 12:28

Petracca isn't going to be named, even if he was you shouldn't get him before playing games.

You've missed the boat on McCarthy. Forget Suckling.

I'd sit tight for at least a round.

      BloodyFranklin · 14/04/2016 at 12:31

Yeah I thought as much. Cheers bruv.

    Sonnyrich23 · 14/04/2016 at 12:35

Personally I wouldn't be bringing McCarthy in now you already missed his first price rise and afl website says petracca still won't be playing this week. If it was me I'd hold both but if you really want to trade then I'd maybe aim for someone a touch cheaper than gray (Parker maybe) so that I have a bit more cash to spend on the second trade and get someone like dustin Martin or Zach Merrett if you still can't afford Martin.

TRIGGER HAPPY · 14/04/2016 at 13:08

Cozza · 14/04/2016 at 13:41

Is it too long to wait for Crouch to hold him and use as a loophole to try and get the best rookie scores in his place?

    Jabba07 · 14/04/2016 at 13:59

I'm wondering the same thing but I'm loath to have the cash in the sideline. I'm thinking Darcy Bryne-Jones via DPP even though its a week early as I am not sold on Hartley JS given the talls at Essendon.

    BundyBear · 14/04/2016 at 14:12

Why is it unsustainable ? He is playing great at the moment. There are other players who are playing worse then their expectations.

      Southern S · 14/04/2016 at 14:24

You answered your own question. He is playing well "at the moment".

      Cozza · 14/04/2016 at 17:22

I was referring to Brad Crouch, not Matt. I want to hold Brad, but tossing up whether 2-3 weeks out is too long to hold
