Great work fellas!

    hornets cod piece · 05/04/2016 at 21:58

    awesome podcast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also, please Jock- can you leave coachkings to the side or in its own catergory by any chance??? Its on every page, mentioned in every article and in every podcast!!!!!

this is a supercoach site is it not??? is it posssible to keep all the coachkings chat in its OWN section.?????

Supercoach and fantasy sport is NOT about gambling, drinking and making money to the majoroity but it seeems coachkings references are mentioned in the majority of sections here.

      Iamme · 05/04/2016 at 22:09

I hate to say it mate, but I think the big Reason Jock and co are still with us is because of Coach Kings…I don't care about it either, but if it means we still Have Jock, Crouching one and Higgo its a small price to pay….don't you think?

        hornets cod piece · 07/04/2016 at 02:19

yeh no probs but like i suggested have it in its own podcast or section or something if people are so interested. kids cant play it and its just a matter of which next line is it going to be mentioned in the podcast thats all. of course i love the boys and the site yet at the same time there are millions of people who make youtube vids every week without financial reward.

      Bellybuttonfluff · 05/04/2016 at 22:56

I think it would be hard to maintain a brilliant product like this with out some sort of attempt at achieving income, so I am ok with it if that's the dealio

      Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 23:35

I see no problem with them promoting coachkings I feel you are being a bit entitled.

hedski · 05/04/2016 at 17:56

Steeeve · 05/04/2016 at 18:01

Can't afford Ruggles to Papley.
Cull Barlow or Gresham?

    Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 18:05

One is a Rookie, the other is a Spud -your choice!

      James · 05/04/2016 at 18:13

      Go with the spud!

Jye · 05/04/2016 at 18:02

Looks like Rocky is out for 2 weeks folks http://www.lions.com.au/news/2016-04-05/injury-re

Tom · 05/04/2016 at 18:02

Barlow and Harwood OUT

Papley and JJ IN

(go easy on me for starting Harwood)

    SCaddict · 05/04/2016 at 18:10

Good improvements to your side Tom.

The Phantom started with Harwood too so nothing to be ashamed of mate. That's what the week leading up to Rd3 is all about, making the necessary corrections and jumping on the right rooks.

    Ian · 06/04/2016 at 20:42

Oh mate, don't be ashamed of starting with Harwood, I started with Cloke!!! Lol

Givbs · 05/04/2016 at 18:03

Who out of Lincoln Mccarthy Gresham or Dunkly( by dpp) should I trade for Papley

    Average Joe · 05/04/2016 at 18:07

Wait to see who's named, but I would say Dunkley is a good chance to get dropped

      Dee · 05/04/2016 at 18:11

      keep McCarthy…

      Don't Blush Babbie · 05/04/2016 at 18:11

At this stage I'm going Dunkley via DPP but I don't have Gresham either

        Jojo · 06/04/2016 at 18:00

None it would be wasting a trade
Do u have anyone who isn't playing like grimley
Don't do trades like that unless one of them gets dropped

Steele · 05/04/2016 at 18:03

Rockliff -> A.Hall (Swing Kerridge)
Gresham -> B.Kennedy

Holding Barlow.

Good trades community?

    SC16 · 05/04/2016 at 18:13

Hall imo, is a must atm, and BenKen is a gun
One of the few holding barlow, which could possibly pay off in the future, if and when he gets more midfield time

    Glenn · 05/04/2016 at 18:47

I'm getting rid of barlow there is rumour of him being dropped and his role in side unknown with bennell coming back soon

      motsy · 05/04/2016 at 18:52

He wont be dropped – that's a shit rumor.

If anything bennell will push barlow up the ground.

        ball swing · 05/04/2016 at 22:01

thats strange coz all of perth media is saying barlow needs to go into the WAFAL for a couple weeks or so. He may just not be part of Lyons new long term contract if he doesnt pull his mediocre finger out.

      medadsson · 05/04/2016 at 19:09

Bennell wont be back anytime soon.

    Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 20:48

    Solid trades

    Northerner · 06/04/2016 at 05:17

Agree good trades. If you are prepared to run Barlow one more week and see how he goes that's great. If it's simply the fact you've only got 2 trades and you will be trading him the following week then consider holding Rocky instead as his price is not dropping this week. They've said he's out for 2 and he has a record of coming back earlier so it may mean he's available the following week and then you have a proven premo in your team without needing to trade to get him. That might be a path worth considering.

Loyal RoughNuts · 05/04/2016 at 18:05

Havent listened to podcast yet so not sure if it has been discussed but Rocky is the perfect loophole option this wk if u dont have any non playing players. Just a though.

Jacko · 05/04/2016 at 18:09

as much as i want to hold Barlow i personally see more of an upside on JJ, also leaves me with 100k in the kitty.

SC16 · 05/04/2016 at 18:09

Dear Community, In every comment I read I always see the same player that is being traded in eg: every second comment says thoughts on zaharkis or that they're going to trade him in, theres nothing wrong with this but everyone, dont be scared to pick a few players no one has or talks about, im not going to get zaharakis because he will probably be as good this year as someone else that no one has, let me tell show you PODS that i am thinking about, Tom Scully, Keiran Jack, Jordan Lewis, Scott thompson (ADE), Jarrad Waite (as a north supported I see him averaging pretty well this year), Boomer harvey (doesn't look like his slowing down at all!), Trealor, Lauchie neale and Bontempelli.
Cheers boys

    Average Joe · 05/04/2016 at 18:17

Yeh but the players like Zaka, Parker, Dusty etc is that they have been in good form in one or both of the rounds, and people think that based off that, they will be better picks than the players you named. Just people chasing points, but you can't really blame them, as it does look like some of the players are primed for big years and look as if they will average more over the season

      SC16 · 05/04/2016 at 18:42

Yes but all the players i've listen are in very great form and some are young guns ready to emerge, trealor, scott thompson, Neale, Lewis are all much better picks imo than zaha, And then you see someone like waite and im not chasing points, but he looks like a star atm, hes reminding me of bloody carey with the form he's in haha and he looks much happier and fit at north melbourne, also tom scully… scored 94 and 140 and is only 24 years old and can only improve

        SC16 · 05/04/2016 at 18:43

i didnt mean scott thompson and lewis are young guns lol, the young guns are trealor, neale, scully, the bont and ofc BOOMEEEER, we'll at least he plays like a young bloke

    DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 19:54

SC you need to consider the possibility that he's in all those teams because he's a very wise choice. None of those alternative blokes you mentioned have had back to back 130plus and none of them can match zaha for JS, if he can walk they'll play him
On top of that Zaha is only 414k so he's up to 150k cheaper than those alternatives and will make as much $ as some rookies. If you had the choice of Papley or Menadue for a fwd rookie who would you choose?
also Skully has a very low ceiling, Waite is high risk if things go against him

    ball swing · 05/04/2016 at 22:03

nice PODS mate but if you wanna win you need to choose top 10 finishers. Hence why everyone is choosng the same. Thomo??? Jack??? neale??? bonts????? Aint NONE of them gonna finish top 10 bro so whilst its nice to talk PODS it means nothin in SC in all reality. cheers

James · 05/04/2016 at 18:11

Z.merret or dusty for Barlow?

    Don't Blush Babbie · 05/04/2016 at 18:14

Dusty as I have him but Merret looks like being a trade in target for me in the next few weeks

Dee · 05/04/2016 at 18:13

Barlow fly kick OUT Popeye IN, Rockliff OUT Libba IN…. BANG BANG, WELCOME!

    Big balls · 05/04/2016 at 22:11

Says the one that didn't start with Libba

SC16 · 05/04/2016 at 18:14

Dusty easy

Pinidu · 05/04/2016 at 18:19

Community, which of the following trade options should I take?:

Rockliff –> Parker
Mills –> Ben Kennedy

Rockliff –> Zaharakis/SamGray/Zach Merrett/B Crouch
L. McCarthey –> Ben Kennedy

L. McCarthey –> M. Hartley (via DPP)
Menadue –> Ben Kennedy
(Bench Rockliff for two weeks)

Thanks in advance

    Northernsoul74 · 05/04/2016 at 18:29

You don't need to bring in Hartley yet as only played 1 game.

      Pinidu · 05/04/2016 at 19:45

So which option are u suggesting?

    bAps · 05/04/2016 at 19:34

    option 2

    Lachie · 05/04/2016 at 19:41

    None of them

      Pinidu · 05/04/2016 at 19:44

      Any suggestions?

      My team looks like this:
D: Shaw, Laird, Houli, Weiters, Dea, Adams (Brown, AMT)
M: Fyfe, Danger, GAJ, Pendles, Rocky, Libba, Mills, Parish (Hewett, Dunkley, Davis)
      R: Nic Nat, Gawn (Wyatt)
F: Barlow, Greene, Hall, Wells, Menadue, Kerridge (McCarthey, Papley)

        Lachie · 06/04/2016 at 01:07

Perhaps Barlow or Rock – Kennedy. Up to you its your team.

        @randomcliche · 07/04/2016 at 23:49

Hold Rocky, flick Barlow. Welcome Kennedy. If going the double trade, option 3.

    Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 20:51

    Rockliff> Kennedy

    hedski · 05/04/2016 at 22:53

Why would you flick little abe lincoln?

Krups · 05/04/2016 at 18:21

Rich out for JJ
Rockiff out for Papley via DDP swing
Then have $500,000 in bank
Get the war chest looking healthy early.

ATTENTION COMMUNITY NATIONWIDE.History is going to be made at Albion Park Trots Saturday night. The horse they nickname the "King of the Creek" whose name is Destreos is having his 401st start which will be an all time record. The race is due to start at 9.07pm est.The 12 yr old has won 90 races and placed 124 times,a remarkable achievement. So if your down the pub doing the coachkings or can make time to watch this once in a life time feat at the track you won't be disappointed. He won his 400th start last week in arrogant fashion and should go close again this week.Get the publican or the bloke in the tab to turn the volume up and watch history being made.Or better still get to the track.

    Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 18:42

WHen he gets to under 500K I will snap him up.

    medadsson · 05/04/2016 at 19:12

Jock Reynolds had played 633 games of senior football by the age of twelve and kicked the winning goal in 13 of 16 grand finals. No one saw his 634th game 🙂

    DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 20:00

So who should we trade out for him Barlow or Mills?

      hedski · 05/04/2016 at 22:54

    Rakesh · 06/04/2016 at 20:38

Chuck Norris had patted this horse on the back before first race.

DankMemes · 05/04/2016 at 18:29

    Jye · 05/04/2016 at 18:32

    goran · 05/04/2016 at 18:41

If you trade him you're crazy, will bounce back with 120+ score. You can bank on it.

    Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 18:42

WHen he gets to under 500K I will snap him up.

    Nifty · 05/04/2016 at 18:48

    Put the V on him..

    Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 19:05

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if my eyes don't deceive me – Camaroooooon has him playing out of the back pocket!!!!!

      Rooster · 05/04/2016 at 19:48

Ridiculous statemet. His role hasn't changed one bit from previous years.

        Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 20:47

Really! Watch his last two games and then let me know your thoughts!

          Rooster · 06/04/2016 at 10:30

Seen both the games and his role hasn't changed one bit. As has been happening for his entire career his opponent try's to drag him as deep as possible but that isn't anything to do with a role change, that is just opposition teams trying to limit is rebound. He had more tan 30 touches in RD 1 it was only his DE (which is normally a strength) that prevented him from going big. Had a quite game in RD 2 – this happens with most backs as their role dictates that they wont be getting it 30 times every week. Shaw is a guaranteed top 6 Defender come the end of the year. Accumulates plenty of ball, uses the footy well and also proficient intercept marker also these attributes should result in another productive SC season for Heater.

    DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 20:02

Take him out the back and give him a good talking to. Nanna reckons that fixes most blokes

    Grahame Lebroy · 05/04/2016 at 20:38

Like our Scottish friend William Wallace said as the English were charging at them, HOLD

    tophawk · 05/04/2016 at 22:41

Silence!! He bloody gun. This man keeper. Heater will tear new holes with fly kick!!.

Angus · 05/04/2016 at 18:39

At this moment I'm holding the under performing Barlow, purely based on 2 reasons:
1. Freo have been poop and once they get going ( which will be this week IMO), I believe players such as Barlow will also get going
2. When Bennell get s back, Barlow will be introduced back in the guts.

Trading Barlow looks good in the short term but down the line it'll come back to bite to people in the ass

My trades this week are:
Gresham to Papley
Rockliff to Parker

    Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 18:47

    Not me, Barlow is gonski.

    Jimi · 05/04/2016 at 19:01

Given Ross Lyon's comments post game I think it's more likely Barlow will be dropped for Bennell.

      Angus · 05/04/2016 at 19:48

Bennell is still a couple of weeks away and Ross Lyon wont be that drastic and drop Barlow. The Derby is a game Freo and Lyon would want to and must win.
Barlow is still their best inside mid behind Fyfe so its only a matter of time before Ross implements him back in the guts

        Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 20:56

Mundy and Neale are way ahead of Spudlow.

        @TheNoLanguage · 05/04/2016 at 22:43

No way mate. Mundy and Neale are in another league!

          Angus · 05/04/2016 at 22:59

both Mundy and Barlow have been underperfoming in 2016 so far
          Barlow Avgs: 19 disposals, 60% efficiency, 4 clangers, 3 tackles, 4 marks
          Mundy Avgs: 21 disposals, 55% efficiency, 4 Clangers, 4 tackles, 2 marks

Say what you want but stats dont lie and something has to be changed structurally for these two players to return to their best. Ross will do this

Neale is a better mid in general but no in tight contested situations

            Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 23:42

Neale gets a lot of contested possessions and clearances.

              Angus · 06/04/2016 at 00:22

Neale has a good balance of being good in tight and outside as well as being a good distributor, but hes not better than Barlow in tight. Now this is isnt suggesting that Barlow is better, but just stating hes better a certain area compared to Neale.

    DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 20:09

Angus think about it some more mate. Have you worked out what he'll have to average when Bennell gets back or Barlow suddenly learns to kick straight and dramatically increase his ball-to-foot pace ala SneakySammy?
If he has two more 60 games and merret goes 110 you're 100 points behind, if after those two more 60's he suddenly starts kicking straight and plays midfield it will take 10-weeks of him averaging 10pts p/game more than merrett just to break even on points.
If he continues to spud it up he will be 380k real soon and you'll be able to swap him cloke

      Angus · 05/04/2016 at 21:17

DadSmasher, You're comparing an A grade midfielder to a 3rd yr player who's had 2 of his best games in his career. He wont average 110 throughout the year as he will have his moments like Barlow
Barlow case is quite similar to Toby Greene. Against Melbourne Greene played as a small forward for majority of the game where Griffin played in the guts. Both played utter crap and ironically GWS lost the game. The next week against Geelong, Greene played primarily in the middle and griffin played behind the ball, to which both arguably their best players in a deserved win.
With Barlow I can see Lyon introducing him back into his homeland in the middle and potentially moving a disappointing Mundy thus far behind the ball also as he's very good with ball in hand.

Say Barlow does do crap then im willing to risk it and wait the next week or two before i pull the pin. Perhaps you need to think about it some more champ haha (taken your line there ahaha).

But in all seriousness cheers for the feedback.

        DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 21:42

Angus you weren't paying attention to what I said about Barlow. The problem isn't his position on the field its his lack of pace and poor footskills in a game that no longer accommodates those flaws from a midfielder. His situation is nothing like Greene's, Greene is a fwd who has self esteem issues. Unless you believe that Barlow will suddenly overcome his weaknesses (he's not been able to over the previous 5-years) he's not worth keeping because the game rules don't get changed mid season to rescue players who are being bypassed by the game. Merrett on the other hand is in his 3rd year and he is on the incline of his career. He has shown enough to identify himself as the best non-banned footballer, mentally and physically, at the disgusting cheating club he plays for and, he does not have 'the future of the club' lined up to replace him. As far asBarlow being a proven gun well that's just fantasy, he's never been a top 15 mid in Supercoach so he's never been a keeper.

          Angus · 05/04/2016 at 23:10

Barlow has never been a good user of the footy nor has he been known to be quick either. these only stand out now because of where hes playing at this given time up forward. his role over the years as a contested mid hasn't really revolved around the use of the footy or being quick. how often do contested players being quick and efficient by foot?
This is my point and its exactly the same regarding Greene. Hes gotten over that incident back in 2014 and wasn't an issue last season.
Players have reinvented careers and re found form when switched back to preferred or new positions and i suspect Barlow will be another one of those players.
How will Merrett go when he cops some attention? what about when the bombers get smashed and cant get their hands on the footy? this will happen regularly. i feel that people have jumped on Merrett a year too early.
In regards to Barlow not being a top 15 mid you're absolutely right and i agree, but a top 15 forward? he will more than likely achieve this.

        Leeds17 · 06/04/2016 at 05:59

Heat maps show there was no ch age in Greenes position just decided to pull his finger out.

          Angus · 06/04/2016 at 13:14

There was a change as he attended a lot of center bounces. He had a game high 7 clearances (got 0 against Melbourne).
You dont get a game high in clearances by plonking your ass down in the forward line. In regard to the heat maps of course its gonna show him up forward because he would've rested there to preserve interchanges.

I dont care if people are trading Barlow out as it means i could have a potential POD if Ross changes things up. There's no way he will want to start 0-3. That's pretty much guaranteeing no top four and putting them in a dog fight for finals.

            Leeds17 · 06/04/2016 at 13:26

You've misunderstood I was saying that Greene played midfield both games and the heat map showed that he simply had a shite game against Melbourne and a good one Vs the Cats.

    Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 15:08

Plot twist: Bennell is out indefinitely.

Grove St Hooligans · 05/04/2016 at 18:41

OUT – Rockliff & Barlow
IN – Z Merrett & JJ (Swingset for Adams)

    Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 19:08

Mike · 05/04/2016 at 18:43

Jock I need your advice. I have Rockliff and Barlow but I don't have Tom Papley, Marcus Adams, or Luke Parker. What should i do? Thanks Jock!

    Jimi · 05/04/2016 at 19:03

Simple. Prioritise getting Papley and Adams over any other trades.

      Angus · 05/04/2016 at 19:50

Agreed you can get plenty of players like Parker throughout the year.

    Lachie · 05/04/2016 at 19:42

Main priority is getting Adams in ASAP. You should consider holding one of the two, and you may want to get Papley in for one of them.

Glenn · 05/04/2016 at 18:45

Barlow out for zahrakis and sheridan upgraded for jj, i started with papley, adams, menadue, mills, davis, dea, tippo, hewett, brown, gresham, kerridge as my rookies all going well so will use my 2 correctional trades on midprice/premos currently sitting 835th overall so started well

    Spifflicator · 05/04/2016 at 19:07

I would be really careful with Zaharakis. We all have 3-5 Essendon rookies, but adding premiums really exposes you to a bad game, and they will come.

    SCaddict · 05/04/2016 at 19:23

I think Zaka is a reasonable gamble to take. He's only priced to average 77 which I'm sure he'll exceed comfortably as the main man in the middle for the Dons even with all the beltings they are likely to suffer.

Perhaps not ultimately a keeper come Supercoach finals time but he should do the job for a $400K player at least in the first half of the season.

Libba would still be the preferred choice for any coaches that don't have him, but for those who already do Zaka would be well worth considering.

      Benjamima Puddleduck · 05/04/2016 at 19:34

i did pick him up for round three, then i reversed my changes. Havnt talked myself into it completely yet.
I did have him in my original start up team, but that changed over time.

Zaka and a tag?? not sure how that will go..
      Would anyone bother tagging him?

Who cops a tag at the doggies this year if it goes out?
Who reaps the rewards for it?

        SCaddict · 05/04/2016 at 19:42

Not sure many opponents would apply a hard tag on many Dons players this season. They'll just back themselves to go head to head and let their quality and experience advantage prevail.

Just be prepared for a potentially disappointing score @Port this week and he's not going to average anything like 130 from here.

In fact if he averages anything over 95 for the remainder of the season that's mission accomplished in my book.

          hedski · 06/04/2016 at 00:32

I just don't like zahas legs. Lots of bad quad action. Needles mighta helped him

      Glenn · 05/04/2016 at 19:47

Already got libba my mids this week ablett, hannebery, fyfe, danger, zaka, libba, wines, mills i used dpp to trade barlow for mid and will start papley fwd

    Glenn · 05/04/2016 at 19:44

In my opinion no one tags anyone at essendon he will be the main man in the middle and at this stage looks like going to be more reliable than barlow and make profit off him early can always be upgraded later if needed

Benjamima Puddleduck · 05/04/2016 at 18:45

Im excited to see Hartung tear up the Doggies this week. They are going to get a lesson in quick very soon.

    Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:40

    Bahahaha no.

    Gr8Game · 05/04/2016 at 22:09

Don't get to cocky mate because I think the doggies are to quick for Hawks. If Dogs play flawless footy like they did against Freo then I see them beating the Hawks convincingly, however if the dogs play as they did last week against the Saints, then it can quite easily see the hawks will convincingly.

      Benjamima Puddleduck · 06/04/2016 at 10:44

Definitely right there, im hoping the doggies win actually (cats supporter here)
But the doggies will get to see some real speed in Hartung, dont let the guy get any space or he is gone

Dan · 05/04/2016 at 18:45

Barlow to Papley. Swing Adams fwd, Kennedy to mids and Gresham out for Johannisen. Then enough in bank to go Rocky to Fyfe next week, possibly with leftover cash as Fyfe BE is 176ish.

    Rick Coine · 05/04/2016 at 21:21

How can you get JJ for Gresham

      Common Sense Man · 06/04/2016 at 00:52

Swinging Adams forward and putting Kennedy in mids leaves a spot open in the defence .

Lachie · 05/04/2016 at 18:52

You have no idea how long i've been waiting for this podcast!

    Northernsoul74 · 05/04/2016 at 19:10

    I'm guessing about a week.

what to do with tommy cutler community

    Benjamima Puddleduck · 05/04/2016 at 19:01

im holding for now. not the worst going around and for his price its a little less painful

    DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 20:16

If I needed somebody to trade out so that I could get a well performing rookie he'd be perfect

motsy · 05/04/2016 at 18:54

Jock mate, my rag-tag league of Jock community members has charged it's way up to 17th overall for the leagues. On the up this week hopefully!

    jockreynolds · 05/04/2016 at 19:02

YOU LITTLE RIPPER LADS!!!!! Well done!

Gord29 · 05/04/2016 at 18:59

great pod cast as usual. I have a problem and need the community to help me make a decision. I currently have Rockliff and Barlow in my team and would love to get Papley like everyone else. The question is who to trade down to him i could also trade Gresham down to him current
MID Parker Ablett Danger Libba Shiel Kerridge Millis Rocky (Menadue Davis Gresham)
FWD Hall Kennedy Wells Dusty Greene Barlow (Tippy McCarthy)

Spifflicator · 05/04/2016 at 19:01

I think I'll keep Barlow and pray for change. Steele however must go, but the question is to Wells or Papley? I had been set on Wells to keep structure but an extra $130k in the kick is hard to argue with.

    Gord29 · 05/04/2016 at 20:04

i would prefer wells at this stage just have more faith in his JS

    Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 10:20

I'd be looking at Wells too. He's playing great, picking up a lot of disposals. Parley is doing great atm though

Tom · 05/04/2016 at 19:01

Laird or JJ?

    Northernsoul74 · 05/04/2016 at 19:12

I have both but Laird is proven.

    Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 19:12

Laird is proven, JJ is the rage atm – toss the coin Tom.

    Common Sense Man · 06/04/2016 at 00:53

    Laird . Less risk

Punjab · 05/04/2016 at 19:02

I have traded Simpkin out for Ben Kennedy
Thoughts on trading hurn for JJ
I will hold on Barlow and Rockliff as Rockliff won't play this week and his price won't go up
Next week i will trade him for dangerman

    DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 20:28

I don't know about that Punjab, that sort of thinking will get you the knickname Pun-jibberjabber
Do you seriously believe that barlow will be a top 6 forward this year with the new rules and fast high scoring gameplans?
Maybe if we could turn back the clock to 2014/15 when the game was dominated by stoppages and throw ins and a slow moving midfielder with slow-twitch muscle fibres could get 30 plus disposals but now, not in this NEW game that's starting to look like the footy they played in those Black and White replays you sometimes see on tv.

Punter · 05/04/2016 at 19:04

People are getting excited about JJ, be careful jumping on him to early, I'm not convinced he can keep those scores, his first game was against witches hats in Fremantle, then a poor St Kilda

    Punjab · 05/04/2016 at 19:07

I scored 2350 over the weekend
Hurn scored 94 but he was very quite in the first week
I don't want to trade Barlow.
    Trust me,he will come good

      Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 19:18

No trust in this game Punjab.

        Punjab · 05/04/2016 at 19:31

I know mate, but one thing in SuperCoach, you do not trade premium.
They got smashed last couple of week.
        Watch this week
        They will come good

          Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 20:59

          Barlow hasn't been a premium since 2013/2014.

The man is 28 give him a break, he's slowing down. Let him become a spud and respect his choice to not be supercoach relevant anymore.

    DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 20:35

He showed enough last year to give confidence in him for a solid 85-95 ave in 2016. That's a very good ave for a defender and worthy of D5/6 at finals time. This year he's just gone nuts everytime a ball is bounced, they had to ban him from the Australian Open for intercepting a couple of the jokers serves and booting them 12 rows back, then came Nab where he knocked a lazy 129 and 113 in half a game.

Jimi · 05/04/2016 at 19:05

Waiting all day for this Jock but it was worth it!

Barlow to Z Merrett
Rocky to R Gray

Good luck everyone

    Jez · 05/04/2016 at 21:00

    Bang, great trades

Max · 05/04/2016 at 19:06

Tom both
But laird more proven if u had to choose one

Libba or hunter ??
Leaning to hunter , is gonna be gun , I reckon it's his break out year , watched both games , has it on a string and improving with every game

Thoughts ??

    Benjamima Puddleduck · 05/04/2016 at 19:36

I have Hunter, was scared after the first game. Definitely deserved more points for his efforts.
Your right though, will get better and better after each game

    CSM · 06/04/2016 at 00:57

Haha Max I love your thinking with hunter and I agree it's his breakout year but I would still stick with Libba , slightly cheaper and I think lib will average 105-110 and hunter 90-95.

Average Joe · 05/04/2016 at 19:09

Barlow will ace it this weekend.

    Davonaise · 05/04/2016 at 19:12

    I hope so, Average Joe.

I am holding him for now, got other problems in my team.

Andrew · 05/04/2016 at 19:09

Ok if I pull the trigger on Barlow and Rocky I can,

Parker and Dusty Combo

Gray and Merret.

Thanks in advance.

    Suit · 05/04/2016 at 19:40

Both good trades, Parker and dusty the safer option though

    Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 10:21

Parker and Dusty just slightly better. I love the look of Gray though. If Merret can keep up form, he'll be an awesome POD

    Youngy · 06/04/2016 at 11:16

    Parker and Dusty for sure

Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 19:14

Good footballer Hurn – but a SC spud!

    Punjab · 05/04/2016 at 19:35

He scored 60+ in the first week and this week he scored 94.
He doesn't get many possessions but he get a lot of score involvements
Don't know what to do with him
    Keep or trade…thoughts please

      Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 20:55

A defender, must average out to a min of 80+ – he is great but the team requirements will not allow that to be achieved IMHO.

      Patch · 06/04/2016 at 00:25

I was very encouraged by what I saw this week. I'm absolutely holding him with mind for him to be D5 or 6 at season's end.

goodiemate · 05/04/2016 at 19:18

ive picked bloody matty kruezer do i pull the plug early or wait to see if he gets some form please help community

    Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 19:23

Wait a tad as the 3 premo rucks should come down in price.

    DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 20:44

If he's the biggest problem you have look at turning him into Blicavs or if your broke sinclair

Davonaise · 05/04/2016 at 19:18

Hello all new here and wanted to pop my head out my umm my….. Well anyway just want to say be careful with your trades cause some of may not realise it now but you are chasing points with Parker, JJ and Hall. If you started with them you are off to a cracker!

I know, I know but they will increase in price by 50k-100k after another 2-3 rounds!!!
All I am saying beware the sc bite of irony (chasing points) (wasting trades) = disaster!!!

If you don't have any of these 3 players in your side pick one that's fine. Personally the only player you must have is Hall.

    Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 19:27

Son, there are multiple facets to this game, some are in it to win overall – some are in it to win their league – some are in it to improve on their ranking from last year, etc, etc, etc. Do what you feel you have to do to accommodate your initial objectives.

      Davonaise · 05/04/2016 at 19:34

I realise that thank you for letting me know, do understand people will do what they will like do in the end anyway. Was just trying to help, guess iam in the wrong chat forum?
I Am new to this site but not all to do with SuperCoach its is my 7th season and have never been outside the top 14k of coaches. My personal best is 218th and been under 1k three times 🙂

        Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 20:59

Son, you have a brilliant record – keep it up!!

    DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 20:56

Hi Davo, your thoughts and opinions are appreciated and the chasing points advice is sage but, Parker's proven he can knock out those big scores regularly and JJ's last season, nab and 2 real games suggest that he's a solid keeper as D5/6. Halls NAB form and highlights from previous years identified him as a 'safe risk' with more upside than downside.
So, I don't think that trading any of those guys in is chasing points, they are all worthy of their positions in your SC team and will continue to deliver, that's cultivating points.
I took TMitch over Parker for no particular reason other than I wanted to see how Parker played after last years injury, I now expect to need him at finals. I also started with Hall but not JJ but I had enough cash to swap Dea for JJ this week

      SD6 · 05/04/2016 at 23:53

So you picked Dea to make money, yet you are trading him the round prior to him making roughly 50k?

Is it not worth holding for another look at JJ against a stronger team? its a free hit for information where at worst you break even on the price rises from Dea and JJ and lose out on about 20-30 points…. is a trade worth that?

In this scenario I think its safe to say you are chasing points (btw his last season scores weren't that flash 9 out of 20 games he scored under 70). Having said that he is probably going to continue a breakout year but I think its madness to do that trade this round.

        Rick Grimes · 06/04/2016 at 07:07

        DadSmasher · 06/04/2016 at 11:52

points are more important to me than cash

          SD6 · 06/04/2016 at 15:51

Can understand that, but are you factoring in the used trade here?

            Swans2012 · 06/04/2016 at 19:08

He makes a very good point dadsmasher, very little to lose from holding

Redgumwon · 05/04/2016 at 19:19

I'm thinking of trading Barlow & Oliver out and then swing Kerridge to the midfield. Then trade in Dusty & Papley. What do you guy think of this trade?

    Brookesy · 05/04/2016 at 21:08

Too much cash to be made to trade Oliver at this stage.

      Redgumwon · 05/04/2016 at 21:20

Yeah but it's only $36,000 compared to Papley's $100,000. I think Oliver may only average 60 to 70 a game or even worse get dropped this week after an average game against Essendon

        Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:43

Well if he does in fact get dropped, then maybe go for it if you're happy to blow a trade and have no other pending problems

          Redgumwon · 05/04/2016 at 21:50

I think I will I see Barlow as a huge problem. Once Bennell returns from injury what sort of job security can you see for Barlow? I can't see him playing forward and scoring better than now or moving up the pecking order and playing in the midfield.

nick · 05/04/2016 at 19:20

what should i do with suckling? should i hold or upgrade or downgrade? 60k in the bank.

    Benjamima Puddleduck · 05/04/2016 at 19:38

Hold, he will rise up as JJ falls

      Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:08

Suckling has been stagnant on 70-80 for the last few years.

JJ is up and coming, could flop but he has been consistently increasing his output, so has way more chance of succeeding than suckling.

        Chill · 05/04/2016 at 22:54

Southern S i disagree about Suckling. He was sub affected at hawks and some of his 70s were like quarter efforts! if you look at the games where he played full games he was scoring 80-90. Pretty good considering his price. I have him and will be holding him.

          Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 23:31

I don't mind him as a pick and was considering him at the start of the year, just seeing those two 70 odd scores hasn't really made me think he can go big enough to raise his average significantly.

I think JJ has more upside the way he is playing.

Agree though on not trading suckling as it's just a side trade and JJ could easily have a few rounds of 70 and be back to square one.

My reply was more to benjamima claiming JJ will fall, which is impossible to predict.

          Benjamima Puddleduck · 06/04/2016 at 10:53

Good to see people checking stats!

L.Hunter and B.Hartung are other prime examples of sub effected players

    CSM · 06/04/2016 at 01:02

I had suckling for round 1 because I really thought he would average 80-90 this year and he was slightly underpriced , after round one I thought to myself about it and felt like an absolute idiot because I chose suckling over johanisson and just looking at their roles on the doggies team johanisson clearly plays the more SuperCoach friendly role , I quickly fixed this team error and traded in JJ and got rid of suckers and of course round 2 I gained myself and extra 40 points :)))

Jack · 05/04/2016 at 19:20

Is it worth going menadue to Kennedy and McCarthy to Papley for the extra $$$ they'll make or hold trades? Or upgrade Rockliff to Robbie Gray or Rockliff to Kennedy?

    Bells E Bubb · 05/04/2016 at 21:53

I wouldn't trade out a rookie who is low priced and playing. Look to trade out a problem mid pricer if you have any.

    Northerner · 06/04/2016 at 05:43

Of those Rockliff to Kennedy a good option. You get Kennedy's points for next 2 weeks and make some cash with Rocky out for 2.

James · 05/04/2016 at 19:21

Adam Treloar and Tom Mitchell. Thoughts?

    Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 19:29

    What's your thoughts on them?

      James · 05/04/2016 at 19:59

      Are they worthy options?

        Bells E Bub · 05/04/2016 at 21:58

Tom is a GUN and in a contract year. Good POD, lost the DPP but just always seems to get the ball. Good POD but will he be top 10 midfielder and thus a keeper? He might go close, but maybe just short. Seems to be finding the goals, so hopefully will get the DPP back for next year. If so he will be first picked in my team.

    Benjamima Puddleduck · 05/04/2016 at 19:39

Good footy players, actually exceptional footy players

IN: Parrish & Papley

Cash goes to the warchest

Mayniac · 05/04/2016 at 19:35

Played SC for a couple of years and stumbled across you guys late last year – bloody awesome!

Started with all the main rookies – JJ, Adams, Weitering, Mills, Oliver, Kerridge, Paply and Menadue. Only one missing is B.Kennedy! Have Barlow and thinking making a corrective – down to Kennedy and then use the cash to upgrade B.Crouch to a Hannebery/Mitchell.
Already have Ablett, Fyfe, Danger and Pendles.

With this site and changing my thinking I am sitting in top one percent fir the first time ever!

    Davonaise · 05/04/2016 at 19:43

    Well done Mayniac!

Just be careful here mate or should I say son?
Don't offer advice here because we are new on this site but least your not making any critical thinking regarding SuperCoach instead you have gone for the more relaxed approach showing us your team 🙂

    It looks good son!

Where I dodged Barlow I got hit by Rockliff

    Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:12

Do the Barlow>Kennedy trade and sit tight on crouch for a few more weeks to see how he goes

      Mayniac · 05/04/2016 at 22:57

Yeah… The other choice is to flick rich and strengthen the backline with a houli/laird type

Personal preference is not to keep a few hundred thousand in the bank so early in the year

    DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 21:13

Well done mayniac, it's unquestionable that frequenting this site improves a persons SC knowledge and as a consequence also their ranking but it's no replacement for your own research because some of the advice offered is pure speculation, old wives tales, superstition or just plain crazy. I come here for the crazy ones.

Surferboi · 05/04/2016 at 19:37

Thoughts on Kane Lambert? he has looked bloody good the last two weeks

    tophawk · 05/04/2016 at 19:53

Looks to be in very good form. As a POD option and being value for money, he is definately worth considering.

    Northerner · 06/04/2016 at 05:48

A real possible F6 keeper, so in for Rocky in the mids and swing him forward when one of your FWD rookies matures. We want FWDs who get mid time and he's playing mainly on ball the whole game.

    Youngy · 06/04/2016 at 11:18

Very Very Risky, wouldn't go there.

Shake n bake · 05/04/2016 at 19:44

Will Grimley get a gig this week kicked 4 in the magoos? Was goin to trade him for paps?

    Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:12

If grimley isn't named and papley is, then you pretty much have to do it don't you?

    Bells E Bubb · 05/04/2016 at 22:00

Do that. Even if Grimley gets in he'll score stuff all as a young tall in a poor team and have poor JS.

    Phil · 05/04/2016 at 22:06

Surely Essendon won't change a winning team. Also should be noted, McKernan kicked 6 in the same game and that's one of the guys he's competing with for a spot that's not yet available.

tophawk · 05/04/2016 at 19:44

I was going Barlow to Johanissen via DPP. It appears a huge number of coaches are making this move. I always try where I can to avoid the "herd" mentality. In doing so, hopefully there will always be a "poddish" aspect to my team, as well as remaining discliplined to stick to the key team structure. As such, I am going to spend the extra 70K go Barlow to Gibson. (via dpp) I currently have both M.Brown, M.Adams, and Tippa in my backline. This trade will move Tippa to my forward line and fix this issue also.

Yes, I will miss out on the price rise by JJ after this round. BUT, Gibbo's price will rise also, albeit more modestly. My gut tells me that Gibson will be let off the chain without the likes of Hodge and Shiels missing. He seems in superb physical condition and could be in for a huge year. Still not 100% sold on JJ. If he is the real deal, I will pay the extra coin to get him later.

I will still have enough cash then to go Rockliff to Robbie Gray. I will then wack the VC on him for the game on Friday night when Port play the bombers in Adelaide. BANG!!!!!!!!

    Davonaise · 05/04/2016 at 19:55

That is something that people forget or don't know at all is that a player who started cheap e.g. JJ @ 418k as much as he is going to rocket up in price he won't be able to go much further than 530k because price increases are relevant to the players starting pric also in regards to how far they can cost at their peak

Further more JJ is not going to avg 110+ for the rest of the year.

      Davonaise · 05/04/2016 at 19:57

What iam trying to say is it will be much harder to bring in a red hot Gibson than a Red hot JJ
Gibson will go over 570k if he has a crazy year

So I totally agree with your logic

        Russ · 06/04/2016 at 22:28

I think JJ has more potential to increase in price than Gibson, Gibson has been a solid 85 average for a number of years, not ideal for a team wanting to win it all.

Plus I believe Gibson will be tagged if he goes close to replicating last week's scores.

Tophawk, I appreciate you want to retain a certain PODness within your team, but historically, the teams that have finished high up when it's all said and done, have a lot of 'sameness' about them.

Sometimes you have to risk big to reap big rewards.

Lachie · 05/04/2016 at 19:48

Suprised with no mentioning of Jarrad Waite. Two huge scores in a row is quite a standout statistic for him. Could be his year?

    Don't Blush Babbie · 05/04/2016 at 20:10

When you are spending over 400k to bring someone in the question you have to ask yourself is he going to be a keeper until the end ? If you think so go for it ,IMO I personally don't,good luck mate

      magpie4ver · 05/04/2016 at 20:48

I agree DBB if you have Wells no need to. Yes Waite is doing good but I would take wells over Waite based on scoring and price.

    Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:18

    177 vs brisbane in round 2 – 2015

    174 vs brisbane in round 2 – 2016

Also 5 games in a row during 2015 scored 90-120

Still only managed to average 80.

      Tret · 05/04/2016 at 21:21

Brisbane dont have a defence thats why he scores big. Picked him in perfect 9 this week because all big key forwards go big against the lions. Dont expect this to happen every week, although he could go big again this week against the dees… we all saw what Joey Daniher did to them this week.

    SC16 · 05/04/2016 at 22:56

I can see something in jarrad waite this year! if you want a solid pod, GET GIM IN! even if he scores like 80 this week his definetly gonna increase in price and because of north vs melbourne should go big again then, he should be round the 500k mark im guessing. you could probably straight swap waite-dusty

    BKW · 07/04/2016 at 07:58

Don't like him, up and down scorer and always does something stupid to get suspended. Ignore IMO

Houli laird sheridan cutler weitering dea (adams AMT)
danger ablett priddis shiel taylor adams viney b.crouch kennedy (gresham hewett davis)

barlow hall de goey wells menadue kerridge (mccarthy papley)

in what order should i trade these guys out barlow, de goey, taylor adams, viney, sheridan, cutler

    Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:22

Barlow, Spudlow, Barspud, FreoSpud, Ross's Spud, Dockerspud.

    In that order.

But seriously I'd go Barlow, Cutler, maybe De Goey.

Not sure why you'd consider trading taylor adams with a 93 and 95 so far…………

    Viney will come good.

    Sheridan should come good.

I have traded out Rocky and Barlow for Fyfe and Sexton

    Lachie · 05/04/2016 at 19:51

Sexton isn't the greatest, especially since there are more midfielders returning for gc

Barlow to Merrett or Zaharakis??

Community, thoughts on a Mills –> BenKen or Rockliff –> BenKen trade???
The only way for me to get BenKen into my side without losing a premium is to trade out Callum Mills.
What about Menadue –> BenKen + McCarthey –> Hartley (via DPP)?
These rookie conundrums are causing me headaches community, and I'd love some assistance.

    Lachie · 05/04/2016 at 19:56

Mills is a complete waste of a trade. No point sidewards trading rookies that are gonna generate cash regardless. Same with menadue. If you have Barlow or Rockliff, I'd consider trading them down.

    Grahame Lebroy · 05/04/2016 at 20:57

If your going to trade Rocky I would only do it for another elite mid so it doesn't change your structure.
U don't have to go McCarthy to Hartley this week, u would make a little extra $ doing that next week.

      Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:23

Yep getting Hartley this week is a major SC fail.

Community – Would you rather have Sam Grey or Michael Barlow in your side?

    magpie4ver · 05/04/2016 at 20:21

Gray….he out scored Barlow both weeks and Barlow much more expensive, reel in the cash. Gray can wait and might go big against Ess after last week. I have Gray to, you can wait 3 more weeks on him.

      Kang Van DerBang · 05/04/2016 at 20:29

Cheers, mate. Just needed a bit or reassurance.

      Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 21:21

Grey has upside, he will be a bit of a yoyo but mostly up. Don't want to discuss the other bloke.

      Kimmyd · 06/04/2016 at 15:08

Neither of them, Sam gray gets a lot of the ball but disposal efficiency is terrible so will struggle to AV 90 this year, Barlow needs a change of role, I'm not risking that this will happen for him, old, slow, disposal efficiency terrible. Traded him for Zac Merritt this week. I hate sideways trading but can see Merritt out scoring Barlow from here on in easily. I know bombers will get a a few belting a but I still think Merritt will score 80+ even when they get smashed and like last 2 weeks he will go 100+ in quite a few more games this season, kicks goals also. Gun on the way up, tag if any will go to Zaha or Goddard before Merritt. I don't care 2 hoots about league wins so it's overall or nothing for me. I already have all the good rookies and mid prices so I can certainly afford 1 early sideways trade before the price changes. Besides IF Barlow actually does start to average 100 then you can always pick him up in 3-4 rounds time for say 400,000 anyway when papley gets up a bit in price so I don't see getting rid of Barlow a bad thing at all.

      Kimmyd · 06/04/2016 at 15:17

If you don't have papley and Adams, Libba then of course people need to get them, or Kennedy, kerridge but the serious SuperCoach players would have seen the preseason scores and already started with them not only in your team but on the field, not say Kennedy or kerridge on the bench. I was not at all surprised that those 2 I just mentioned smashed it in first 2 rounds, kerridge averaged what 100 in nab cup and Kennedy around 85. At their starting price silly not to start with both, and also silly not to have them on field every week! Then again not everyone believes they can win overall either. I finished top 1% last year with heaps of injuries to premos early in the season. This year in top 2% already with only rocky my only concern. No way in hell i'm holding Rockliff this week, annoyed at myself for even picking him at the start, had Parker all preseason, only changed to rocky for an extra captain pick. Rocky has disappointed like last season, out for at least 2 probably more and will be very susceptible to reinjure himself once he comes back. But if God g for league wins rather than overall probably hold him. Overall win get him out asap, same as Barlow. Barlow is last years Ryan griffin, remember how that went last year, a turd all year long!

Householder · 05/04/2016 at 20:10

I am new to SC. I have Gresham who is a mid, yet I notice that some SCers are trading Gresham for Papley, a forward yet neither player has DDP. Am I missing something? Where in the rules of SC can I learn 'this trick'. Your help would be much appreciated.

    Andrew · 05/04/2016 at 20:14

If you have an another fwd that is mid/fwd, when you click Gresham (to trade) you can then click the S that is beside another player in your original team. Ummmm, this is badly explained sorry but play around with it. 🙂

      Householder · 05/04/2016 at 20:40

Thanks for replying Andrew. I clicked Gresham to trade and of course I got only mids to trade to but no Papley because he is a forward. I have three mid fwds in my forward Line. Sorry, I am still none the wiser. Can anyone help please because I want to trade Gresham for Papley.

        Loc · 05/04/2016 at 21:17

Press trade button when hovering over Gresham
On the side of the trade screen, you will see your players, scroll down to the forwards
Your Mid/Fwd players (such as Martin, Bennedy, Kerridge, Menadue) will have an s to the right of their names
Click it and trade in Papley

          Householder · 05/04/2016 at 21:54

Well, well, well, it worked. Thank you so much Loc. I am most grateful. I really hope you have a good year. I am sure you well because you know what you are writing about. I still have a lot to lear. Incidentally, if you can be stuffed replying again. Where did you learn that from because I did read the rules a month ago when I registered?

            Bells E Bubb · 05/04/2016 at 22:05

Most of us learn those things by reading these threads just as you have.
Captain loophole is your next mission.

              Householder · 05/04/2016 at 22:48

Yes, I have heard about the loophole but I will wait a bit. So much to learn and it sounds complicated. Is it in the SC rule book?

                Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 23:25

The loophole is a necessity. Learn it fast. Google is your friend.

    Average Joe · 05/04/2016 at 21:56

Hi mate, it's very hard to explain with words so I've made a quick album about how to do it:

In this first picture you can see Gresham is being traded out. This is simply the trade screen, you know how to get here already.

The second image shows the players in my Forward line.Once you are on this screen, simply scroll down to the players in your forward line, they will be down the bottom of your players. As you can see, there are multiple 'S' buttons next to certain players, as highlighted in red next to Kerridge. The players with this 'S' are Dual Position Players (dpp), and can move between two lines, depending on their status. In this case, Kerridge is a Midfield/Forward dpp, and when you press the 'S' button, he moves into the space in your midfield. You will then be able to trade in Forward players, such as papley.

The last picture just shows me trading Gresham out for Papley, which I am doing this week as well.

    Hope this helps

      Householder · 05/04/2016 at 22:52

Many thanks Average Joe? I traded Papley thanks to Loc. A Wonderful helpful community spirit certainly exists through the Jock forum.

Harry · 05/04/2016 at 20:31

It's all Rocky and Barlow this week. After weighing it up trading both is inevitable.

Rocky- golden rule, guys with injury interrupted pre seasons take a long time to get going. I'm avoiding Selwood for the same reason. Calves are notorious injuries and whilst he might come good, it might not be till the 2nd half of the season. So can't carry him that long

Barlow- I don't have Papley so the benefit of his cash far outweighs the 'might come good' Barlow factor. I'm conceding I got suckered into the pre season hype. The question is, do you see him as a top 6 fwd? For mine, Dusty, Deledio, Hall, Merrett, Buddy, Dalhaus, Rioli (if he stays fit), Wingard, Greene, Zorko, and Robbo all make stronger cases long term. So benefit of trading, both short and long term, is higher. I kick myself for reading too much into pre season scores.

Just my two cents

    jockreynolds · 05/04/2016 at 20:46

A quality two cents at that Harry. Cheers old mate

    Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:26

Spot on I think all those guys will be ahead of Barlow. Except maybe Robbo and Greene.

Gresham OUT – B.Kennedy IN

    Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:28

Barlow to hall seems a no Brainer, but I'm not going to tell you which gun to get, too many possibilities.

    tophawk · 05/04/2016 at 22:32

Barlow to Hall. Then Rockliff to Robbie Gray. Gray is looking like a top 5 midfielder this year. If you decide to get him, you also have the luxury of putting the VC on him as Port play the bombers on Friday night!

But only do this if you have the key rookies. (Kerridge, Adams, Kennedy, Petracca, Davis, Mills, Tippa, Dea, M. Brown and Menadue)

Jimmy · 05/04/2016 at 20:51

F*** this is a tough start to supercoach. My current side has many trade worthy situations. Rockliff, barlow, de goey etc. Furthermore, need cash cows such as papley in. What is my best option?

Hold Barlow. Trade rookie to papley, rockliff to gray.

Trade barlow to other premo such as JJ through DPP, trade rockliff to gray.

There are many other options, although I feel getting cash cows in this week is the most secure option. Who knows, barlow might get more time in the midfield (finally) and score decent. Rockliff, of course, is injured and I don't want his price sitting on the pine. Please let me know what to do. Cheers

DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 21:07

Why nobody talking of trading Dangerfield?
The blokes a home ground hero but a travelling turd and absolutely stinks it up at etihad when it comes to SC. He's ideal if you can afford to bench him whenever he plays interstate or at etihad but if you want consistency you should look elswhere.
I'm dumping him for zaha this week and will use the profit to help turn Brown into Laird
If you don't have him don't worry he'll be 60k cheaper in a few weeks and you wont need him until after the byes

    magpie4ver · 05/04/2016 at 21:08

not….good for you do that and waste a trade? Why did you even pick him then if you knew or thought that would be the outcome? I think Danger could win Brownlow? But if you think its wise to trade to D. Zar then go for it?

    Blueth · 05/04/2016 at 21:14

Your not being serious, that's bad advice

      DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 21:53

Graheme I reckon I might know you mate. If I do, you know that I'm serious. This year was the first year ever that I've started Danger. He was the only player in front of Jelwood on my 'never start them in SC' list. He may well go 120plus this week but he'll follow it up with a string of Sub 100's starting about round 5 when Joel fires up I don't mind burning a trade to lose him then get him back 8 weeks later. I've got 30 trades and only had 4 dud starters including him so thirty trades is plenty

        Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:56

You say you have lots of trades now but anything can happen throughout the season. Waste them at your own peril.

        Lachie · 05/04/2016 at 22:24

Dangerfield has been a supercoach beast for ages though? I remember when i started him in 2012 at 400k price. He will average over 100 for the rest of his career.

        Grahame Lebroy · 06/04/2016 at 06:35

I just hope the injury curse doesn't strike u then. I got smashed last year by my premo keepers going down and trades went quickly. Danger will most likely be a top 10 SC scorer this year so why bother.

    Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:35

Danger always gets a few low scores, then gets 150 like it's a walk in the park.

      DadSmasher · 05/04/2016 at 21:54

Just saying if Fyffe can be the most traded player after round 1 surely Danger can match him.

hi community, would Brad crouch to Ben Ken be a bad idea? Kennedy looks like a must have for cash generation and I can't afford to trade any other rookie out for him, thoughts?

    magpie4ver · 05/04/2016 at 21:13

    not at all

    Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:54

Don't have an jammed guns to trade to Kennedy like Rockliff or Barlow?

    SCaddict · 05/04/2016 at 23:00

Yes I would be loathe to trade out Braddy boy as he appears to be gathering form after missing over 12 months of footy.

I agree with SS that I'd much rather dump a Rocky or Barlow to get BenKen in myself. Crouch has a BE of just 20 and has actually outscored both Barlow and Rocky over the last two weeks in terms of point totals.

      Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 23:38

Exactly, and there's nothing wrong with having a few hundred K in the bank for a week or two. Bad trades are more damaging than cash.

    Joel · 06/04/2016 at 17:46

If you can manage it hold B. Crouch, you will thank yourself in 3 rounds time when he starts to hit his straps

Darc · 05/04/2016 at 21:12

Good options down forward other than hall and wells (etc) to trade in for barlow?

    magpie4ver · 05/04/2016 at 21:29

    SCaddict · 05/04/2016 at 21:53

Libba, Zaka, Parker, JJ or Laird via DPP. Also BenKen or Papley.

Zerrett is also an option for a pure like for like forward in the same price range. Although I prefer some of the options above more, if you can wrangle them via DPP. Or just take the cash grab and bring in one of those must have rookies.

    Youngy · 06/04/2016 at 11:23

If you wanted to go down you could go down to Papey if you don't have him, or if you have the extra cash you could go up to Dusty.

Cam · 05/04/2016 at 21:21

Seeing a lot of teams offloading Gresham, can't help but think that this may not be an intelligent move given that there hasn't been a mid rookie to set the world on fire that you must get in for him and even though it might not be by much, he will still rise in price should he play this week. Even if you are offloading for a premo via a downgrade elswhere can't help but agree with Crouching One that you're wasting trades to get rid of a premo. Hence I'm preaching patience for a week.

    Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 21:35

Problem is Cam, every other rookie in my team is rising quicker – I tackle rookies like a Baker.

      Ben · 05/04/2016 at 22:09

Keays wil be ready to add in a few weeks….. He's a mid

    Average Joe · 05/04/2016 at 22:01

Rather have papley make me a quick 200k then trade him down to keays/petracca/other rookies who get named, instead of another rookie that won't make me a whole heap and will have to be culled around bye time, like so many other rookies.

    Kimmyd · 06/04/2016 at 15:23

I agree in part mate, depends who you are trading him to really. He has scored low in both games, I don't see him holding his spot in the side for much longer, he's the first one dropped I think. He won't make such cash at all, I traded him for papley via dpp so it was a no brainer, papley will score a lot more and make a ton of cash, petracca is going to play soon so as soon as he's on the bubble he's in for papley maybe or one of the other mid or fwd rookies, I think he will dominate and could even be on your field depending who else you have in the mid or fwd line.

Cam · 05/04/2016 at 21:25

Other point to bring up if looking to offload Rich, is going with Brodie Smith a viable alternative to bringing in JJ. Excluding NAB form scoring history sides with Smith as the reliable option. Curious on the communities thoughts?

    Gold Rush · 05/04/2016 at 21:29

Could well be Cam, like anyone atm – all talk is speculative – only history will give some sort of guide.

      Leeds17 · 06/04/2016 at 06:05

Smith's scores in loses last season 44,43,64,69,68,45,60, with the draw Adeliade have I think you have to be really wary of those scores

    Average Joe · 05/04/2016 at 22:05

Don't know why no-one started with Smith, he started 2015 as one of the best defenders in the comp but a few knocks to the head lowered his output a lot. Now he's back to his regular scoring and everyone's surprised about it. Reliable, has a decent ceiling and cracks the ton plenty. Solid option imo

      hedski · 06/04/2016 at 00:46

      Got him joe 😉

Rocksta · 05/04/2016 at 21:30

I'm staying away from the hype this weekend. Keeping both Barlow and Rocky. Not prepared to start sideways trading.
Instead, Im trading in Papley for Mills, and JJ for Crouch by vast manouvering of DPP's.

    SCaddict · 05/04/2016 at 21:41

Which Crouch are you offloading Rocksta? I reckon Brad is only getting better each week and has a BE of just 20. Mills also has a BE of -15 so i wouldn't be in a hurry to dump him either.

Also isn't trading in JJ for a Crouch (midpricer for midpricer), and Papley for Mills (rookie for rookie), examples of sideways trades that you were trying to avoid?

Barlow on the other hand has a whopping BE of 174 and only attended 3 of 34 centre bounces last weekend!

      Rocksta · 05/04/2016 at 22:33

      Hi SC.
Trading Mills for Papley gives me over $100K straight up, and a further $50K more next week ( being the amount that Papley will appreciate more than Mills). I see it more of a cash generation exercise similar to culling a cow down to a new rookie on the scene.
I'm talking about Brad Crouch, and even though I agree with you that he's on the up, I dont see him as a keeper. JJ on the other hand is a defensive keeper. The nett affect of those two trades is +$150K, and an additional keeper in my team.
I picked Barlow and Rocky as Keepers in my initial team and am not prepared to down grade their status just yet, even if they are both currently playing crap.

    Southern S · 05/04/2016 at 21:53

    Dee · 05/04/2016 at 21:54

    you should keep Mills….

    Average Joe · 05/04/2016 at 22:07

If you keep Barlow and Rocky, you won't have to sideways them! They'll both be mid-pricers and you can paint the fence with them!

Danners · 05/04/2016 at 21:37

Great work Jock and crew! That was pretty brutal thing you did to Rockliff. I can see why he is now out for another week. He will be gone now this week, and you should be able to find him cheap enough when he gets back to form. Trades that I will be doing are
Rockliff to Hannebery
Bartel to JJ
I am unsure of Bartel but it seems that age has got to him as last weeks score was his lowest since Round 17 2014 (excluding the game he got injured in) and it seems like JJ is going to get the job done. I will be holding Barlow though hoping he can turn his form around
Thoughts community?

Respect your trades but why is everyone missing Tich?

    tophawk · 05/04/2016 at 21:54

If I were you, go Rocky to Tom Mitchell or Luke Parker.

    Then Bartel to Gibson.

Whatever u like its ur team troy

Cliffy · 05/04/2016 at 21:52

I know many are advocating of getting rid of him, but I wonder if the absence of Bennell is the reason that Barlow is spending more time Forward than attending centre bounces more and playing as a pure Mid? Food for thought?

Otherwise looking likely to back myself in and grab either L.Parker or R.Gray as an immediate replacement for Barlow.

    Cliffy · 05/04/2016 at 21:54

Or via M.Brown DPP get Barlow out for either Johannisen or Laird.

    SCaddict · 05/04/2016 at 22:31

This is a critical juncture for all Barlow owners. So if you are going to hold I reckon you really need to see it through come hell or high water, unless he gets dropped and then you are forced to trade him.

If the Eagles spank Freo and he gets another 60 odd and drops say $50K you probably also cost yourself another $50K in terms of an in form player who has say risen $50K that you've missed out on so you are probably in the hole by $100K or so. That's getting close to the value of a trade in just one week.

Of course if he gets a miraculous role change this weekend and cranks out a ton you're laughing. But if you're going to hold him this week, only to trade him out next week or the following one, well your options are going to be far more limited than they are right now and more painful to boot.

      Cliffy · 05/04/2016 at 22:36

A very fair point you've raised there, SCaddict.

      Cheers for that 🙂

        Cliffy · 05/04/2016 at 22:40

So out of those trades I mentioned before I could make with Barlow, which one looks the better call you reckon?

If I elect to go the path of Option 1 in getting a pure Mid referring to the likes of Parker or Gray for Barlow (involves swinging Wells into the Forwards and Barlow into the Mids), I lose my MID/FWD DPP swing.

Otherwise, I can hold onto that flexibility if I elect to go the path of getting out Barlow for one of Johannisen or Laird via M.Brown DPP swing. I get to keep the DEF/FWD swing too if I go down this path since M.Adams is in my Defence and A.McDonald-Tippungwuti is in my Forwards.

          SCaddict · 05/04/2016 at 23:13

In my view Parker, Laird, Gray, Zaka, Libba, JJ, Sitch, Titch, Hall are all great options (plus a host of others) for the Barlow Burnman this week.

So really just pick who you like best and suits your preferred structure. Getting in a Gray/Sitch type will give you another VC/C team option each week although that obviously comes at a financial cost over some of the more affordable alternatives.

Robbie Gray as VC could be a handy option this Friday night for instance. 🙂

            Cliffy · 05/04/2016 at 23:21

Sounds great SCaddict, cheers for that mate! 🙂

What's everyone's thoughts, I was thinking of getting rid of Barlow and degoey to get in hall and Papley and then next week trade rocky for Fyfe cos he will drop in price

    BKW · 07/04/2016 at 08:04

Yep don't mind that plan – assuming Fyfe is injury free.

Cliffy · 05/04/2016 at 22:10

Also, I reckon it's worth holding on Rockliff this week since he's not playing for the next few games (at least 2), will be a great C loophole to use this week since Lions play in the final match of the Round, and he won't depreciate in value either.

Thoughts guys?

    Cliffy · 05/04/2016 at 22:11

Also, Rockliff is a great candidate for the Rookie Emg loophole this week. 🙂

      Dee · 05/04/2016 at 22:18

can someone elaborate on the rookie loophole? I only know of the captain loophole…. thanks community.

        Jye · 05/04/2016 at 22:24

If you're choosing between two rookies to field, chuck the E on the earlier playing rooking on your bench. Have the other rookie on the field. If the emergency rookie scores well, move non playing player (rocky) onto the field and whooshka

          Cliffy · 05/04/2016 at 22:26

          BANG BANG Jye.

            siri · 05/04/2016 at 22:32

Keeping rocky is a risk….. it will be good if he goes bang bang when he comes back…… if not thats a lot of money sitting on the bench.
I m trading out rocky but keeping barlow

          Davonaise · 05/04/2016 at 22:28

Sound plan I am doing the same and i cannot afford to trade him out atm his price won't change so will see next week

            Dee · 05/04/2016 at 22:31

so this won't harm your captains loophole plans?

              SCaddict · 05/04/2016 at 22:50

No it's unlikely to harm it as most coaches would have another captain's loophole available at R3 this weekend anyway unless you have Grimley there.

Chances are it would probably only enhance it as you can often do an emergency and captains loophole using the same player and Lions play last this weekend.

Ben · 05/04/2016 at 22:11

Rockliff is out for Libba (whom I shouldve started with!)
Gresham will become Lightning Johanneson.

Exceptional price rises expected from JJ, Weitering, Adams, Brown, Libba, Kerridge, Mills, Hewitt, Davis, Wells, Hall, Kennedy, Paps, Tippa. Glad Ive got them all :))

Laird, JJ, Weiters, Dea, Adams, Lonergan (Brown, Ruggles)
Gaz, Fyfe, Danger, Libba, Shiel, Cripps, BCrouch, Kerridge (Mills, Hewitt, Davis)
Goldy, Nicnat (someone)
Wingard, Buddy, Wells, Hall, Benken, Papley (Tippa, McGovern)

Barlow…. Never considered him at all. Ignored all the talk about him because he's been shit for a couple of
Years. Took buddy, hall and Wingard over him as my premo forwards
Rocky, yes I unfortunately had him. Gone now and happy To have libba

The Ranger · 05/04/2016 at 22:23

Happy with where I'm sitting after two rounds and have no injuries forcing me to trade but I don't have Papley or Kennedy.
How important is it to get them in?
Got various options to do so via DPP's and fifty grand in the bank.
All my current rooks are playing and will make money but not as quickly as Paps and Kennedy.
To trade or not to trade, that is the question…..

Tom · 05/04/2016 at 22:39

Here's what I'm thinking community:

This week: Barlow to Papley + Rockliff to Gray

Next week: Rich to Hartley + Gresham to Fyfe

I already have all the rookies apart from Papley so that is not a problem. Fyfe should fall this week (hence trading him in next round) while Gray should rise (hence trading him in this round).

    @TheNoLanguage · 05/04/2016 at 23:00

    I like it

    Nicholas · 06/04/2016 at 00:36

Was thinking of doing the same however it leaves my forward week with 1 premo of hall and wells as a midpricer the rest are rookies should i still make these trades?

Lekdogspimp · 05/04/2016 at 22:53

Thoughts on zorko community? I think he can average 105-110 this year. Need barlow gone and I'm leaning towards zorko

    Kev · 05/04/2016 at 23:24

Like him. Would have been in a lot of teams if he wasn't missing round 1

    Damon Guy · 06/04/2016 at 09:39

I think Zorko is a very solid option, went bezerk towards the end of last season.

@TheNoLanguage · 05/04/2016 at 22:59

Community! Is it more important to get JJ in or get Rocky out? My one confirmed trade this week is Barlow > Kennedy.
OPTION 1 – With the extra coin I can go Ruggles > JJ
OPTION 2 – Straight swap Rocky > Parker
Do I jump on the JJ train leaving 550k on the pine or punt Rockliff now, missing out on JJs rise???

    scyb · 06/04/2016 at 08:32

I would go JJ as Rocky wont play thjs week and value wont go down. U can trade him next week

    Richo · 06/04/2016 at 10:15

JJ in. Rocky can sit on the pine for a week without losing $$. JJ will only increase. Get him in I say. Also Ruggles isn't playing and potentially sitting behind Bews in the pecking order so Option 1!

    Chevy · 06/04/2016 at 11:24

I'm waiting on JJ, for the fact he has played against 2 poor performing teams and will be playing a quality team this week. Lets see how he performs against the hawks, before anything…

Ryan · 05/04/2016 at 23:02

Trading Rocky

T. Mitchell, Parker, Gray or Ward?

    @TheNoLanguage · 05/04/2016 at 23:30

All solid options. I'm going Parker but already have Gray

    jimmy7 · 05/04/2016 at 23:46

mitchell or gray, both are gods i reckon

    Jonathan Camac · 05/04/2016 at 23:53

If youve got the cash, go with Gray. The bloke flipping scored 120+ in a game where the Power were dismantled. However, price of Parker is very appealing – especially considering recent scores. Ward has been consistent in averaging 100+ and playing 20 games a year the last four seasons. Very consistent customer.

    Youngy · 06/04/2016 at 11:24

    Parker or Gray

Kev · 05/04/2016 at 23:33

Fyfe's price won't plummet. If he hits 120 this week he'll drop by 25k, for those that plan on holding Rocky this week will still need a fair chunk of coin to trade up to Fyfe next week

Jonathan Camac · 05/04/2016 at 23:50

Is BenKen a real must have? Trades are precious, but a rookie pumping out 100 averages is hard to deny. Just not sure. Thoughts community?

or do i go jack gunstan, POD

    Average Joe · 06/04/2016 at 00:01

hall, every day of the week. there will be plenty of opportunities to bring PODs in thru the year

Dan · 05/04/2016 at 23:53

Personally I believe Merrett will shine. There'll be a nice Zaharfloggard buffer to protect him from the tag and shine him up nice. Not sure how many goals Essendon will snag this year but a lot of them would have been touched by his hand or boot first. I am trading Barlow and Rockliff. The golden rule is do not trade sideways and do not trade preimums. I think pre price change these rules can be voided more readily, especially with Rockliff and Barlow. If it was rd 8 and Rocky had been averaging 110+ til then before going down with a two week calf we would probably hold, but given the context the best move is to give him the flick for a cheaper emerging premo. It's sideways and carries the same risk, but at this point in the season we stand to gain loosley ~100k after price changes from a Barlow-Merret type trade and we still have almost all our trades and plenty of time to lick any wounds of a potential rd 3 injury or general flop. I feel theres great rookie coverage too, I'm quite happy to play Kennedy, Kerridge, Adams, Papley all on field. I'll be going Rocky to Merrett and Barlow to Papley banking $470k. Next rd I will bring in either Zorko, JJ (maaaybe), or some other slightly fallen premo (eg a Dustin Martin) for Dunkley who will generate a little cash after one round and doesn't have much upside because of the other options and how slow he will increase.

    Beezneez · 06/04/2016 at 13:54

I was thinking along the same lines. Lucky enough to have all of Papley, Adams, Kerridge, Wells, Hall, BenKen and Parker. Wanted Merrett in round one but went with the Barlow pre season hype instead. Also wanted Zorko but he was suspended so went with Greene and pleased I didn't trade him last week. Also tossed up between B Smith and JJ and went with B Smith. Also Have H Shaw and Laird. Was going to go Barlow or Rocky for JJ using DPP's, but will wait to further assess JJ. Think I'll go Rocky to Merrett as well. Was going to wait on Zorko till next week but Barlow's price will plummet and feel the time to act is now. So, therefore Barlow to Zorko. Was also thinking D Martin for Barlow but next week, by trading Dea/Weitering for Hartley (wanted in my original team) and/or C Mills for Petracca/Keays, I will have enough cash generation to consider options such as Fyfe, D Martin, R Gray and JJ. Hoping to sit on my team for awhile after that (barring LTI's).

Soldiers · 06/04/2016 at 00:06

Barlow – Papley
Sheridan – Adams

Is this a poor move? I am happy with all other rookies therefore don't wanna take out a M.Brown or M.Dea to bring these boys in.

Are Papley and Adams a must have?

    SCaddict · 06/04/2016 at 00:17

In a nutshell yes both seem must have rookies at this point.

But I would persist with Sheridan for a while longer. He had an injury niggle last weekend that probably impacted on his performance but he showed how productive he can be back in Rd1. He's also not on Freo's updated injury list so should play this weekend.

But if he's really your best option to get Adams in then yes I would ultimately pull that trigger. Don't forget you could always bring Adams into your forward line too.

      Soldiers · 06/04/2016 at 10:55

      Thanks SCaddict.

Do you think downgrading to both rookies and leaving 600k in the bank for next week is too risk?

Would love to persist with both Barlow and Sheridan although I believe not getting Papely and Adams in could be detrimental. My forward line and defender rookies Kennedy, Kerridge, Menadue, Brown, Tippa, Dea, Hartley are all showing signs so don't want these to be the casualties of bringing Adams and Papely.

      Huge predicament.

    Beezneez · 06/04/2016 at 14:06

I have both and played Adams on field last week and am thinking of doing the same with Papley this week (replacing C Mills with Kerridge through Menadue DPP). The reply by SCaddict is worth noting re Sheridan's injury niggle. Adams looks like a really good player taking a number of intercept marks and Papley is also impressive. IMO Adams has more upside than M Brown if Brown plays down back. Both are, at this stage, going to generate more cash than most of the other rookies and if you are thinking about getting them into your side, they wont be any cheaper.

      Soldiers · 06/04/2016 at 22:51

Have gone with Papley and Adams for the expense of Gresham and Sheridan atm.

Didn't really want to part ways with Sheridan although am keeping Barlow as he is becoming a POD and I know/ hope he will come good and repay the faith.

best Midfield POD's

    Jess_coach · 06/04/2016 at 02:41

    Chill · 06/04/2016 at 08:15

Sam Mitchell (has averaged 35 disposals in his last 7 games), paddy Cripps (some turned off because he's playing in such a crap team but he is a superstar), treloar (not many have him… Yet), Gaff

    Youngy · 06/04/2016 at 11:26

As a tiger man, Brandon Ellis looks like he might have a good year, and is a massive POD.

Jess_coach · 06/04/2016 at 02:31

I think people are so averse to trading because its difficult to see the immediate impact it has on their team (ie. scoring potential and injury avoidance). Clearly, it's true that trading now will leave you with less at the end of the season, but such a cost needs to be weighed up with the benefits of having players that will consistently perform better throughout the year.

We need people who are in form, and cant sit around with the hope that Griffen or Lumumba types will improve. Mistakes can be corrected! Vote 1 Donald Trump ✌

    Grahame Lebroy · 06/04/2016 at 07:23

You Tube Ron Paul, they need to bring him back. He makes alot of sense

    Kev · 06/04/2016 at 09:40

I understand what you're saying, Jess, the old "trade was off" approach made famous by our very own Crouching One. On the flip side, we've played two rounds, still a long way to go. Form players now may start to slide in another month and you'll end up trading them out for the next form player. Come business end of the season you're left with bugger all trades and not competitive in finals.

Barlow to Parker

Thoughts on
Rocky to Parker
Barlow to Merrett

Westy · 06/04/2016 at 06:38

Barlow -> JJ
Rockliff to bench (along with Sidebottom). I'll be a little light on in the mids for the next 2 weeks (Fyfe, Danger, Libba, M Crouch, Oliver, Mills, Davis, Gresham – Sidebottom, Rockliff, Dunkley). However in 3 weeks time it'll be Fyfe, Danger, Sidebottom, Rockliff, Libba, Crouch, Oliver, Mills – Davis, Gresham, Dunkley; with up to 7 cash cows fattening very nicely. Plus with Rocky out injured, he can't fall as far as if he underperforms for 4-5 weeks. The super premos shouldn't increase their price too much over the next couple of weeks.
Menzel -> Papley – simple cash cow move. 260K ->102K. While Menzel will get a game soon (because of GWS loss), in a couple of weeks Papley could be the same price as him.
Fwd line now – Hall, Adams, B Kennedy, Wells, Kerridge, Montagna – Papley, McCarthy

Result – two corrective trades, to hopefully provide another keeper in the backline, the retention of 'unpopular premo' in Rockliff, and introduction of a cash cow in the fwds. Also now introduced a FWD/DEF swing between AMT, Adams and Brown.
$268K in bank to shortly upgrade (3 weeks or so) for a premo.

Def – Laird, JJ, Boyd, Weitering, Sheridan, Dea – AMT, Brown
Mid – Fyfe, Danger, Libba, M Crouch, Oliver, Mills, Davis, Gresham – Sidebottom, Rockliff, Dunkley
Ruc – Goldy, Gawn – Grimley
Fwd – Hall, Adams, B Kennedy, Wells, Kerridge, Montagna – Papley, McCarthy

James · 06/04/2016 at 07:03

I already have all the rookies and they good ones except papley

And want to go Barlow to hall as a I don't have him

And would like a premo on field instead of rookie for rockcliff ! Thoughts

    Grahame Lebroy · 06/04/2016 at 07:39

I guess it keeps your points scoring up there. If your happy with your rookies and don't need to fix them then
a sideways trade on an injured Rocky may not be a bad move. What's he had now this year, a hammy, calf and something to do with his arm. His nickname should be Wellsy.

James · 06/04/2016 at 07:13

Is it bad to have both grays ?

Adrian · 06/04/2016 at 08:21

Is it alright to go barlow to papley then rockliff to sam mitchell with $400K remaining. Then have papley kerridge ben ken and dan wells in my foward line isnt it a bit thin?

    Derek · 06/04/2016 at 09:18

That is a lot of cash doing nothing. What is your plan for next week?

jim · 06/04/2016 at 08:29

Sam mitchell or robbie gray?

    Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 10:58

Robbie Gray. He scored a huge 120 odd in a game where the Power were torn apart. He'll play every week if fit. However Mitchell is ageing, there's a chance he'll sit out one or two due to injury/suspension/resting somewhere along the line. Still a great MID.

Fyfe, Danger, Ablett, Pendles, Rockliff, Libba, Mills, Kerridge, Davis, Gresham, Hewett

    Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 10:54

Bold move in holding them. I'm holding Barlow, but not sure on Rocky. Had a little to no preseason, and now he's injured. Up to you. The Gresh-Paps trade is a good one

I was wondering that too. I assumed he'd do some swap around with other MID/FWD (DPP) stuff.

        tom · 06/04/2016 at 16:54

Swing sets by using Petracca. But now with Bennel out indefinetly, i think Barlow has to go

Jack · 06/04/2016 at 08:57

Hannebery or rob Gray

    Kev · 06/04/2016 at 09:25

    derek · 06/04/2016 at 09:46

i watched Gray play on the weekend in a team that was getting belted, he stood tall. it was Joel Selwood like at his best.

Hanners is a gun player as well. I just like Port's draw better than Swans, plus swans have many other gun midfielders who on their day could take Hanners points.

    Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 11:02

Gray is a freak – to score so highly in a game Port looked like Under 12s was impressive. He's a tad cheaper than Hanners too.

Community, trying to trade out Rich on the app, swing Kerridge to DEF and bring in Papley. Can't figure out how to swing Kerridge back in the trade process. Anyone that can help, it would be really appreciated! Thanks everyone.

    CaPtKaOs · 06/04/2016 at 09:24

    Kerridge is fwd/mid, not fwd/def.

    Kev · 06/04/2016 at 09:25

    Kerridge is mid/fwd only

    derek · 06/04/2016 at 09:35

you need to have Brown/Adams/McDT in the forward line and swing one of them back

just tinkering with a few ideas. Looked at; Rocky >> RGray & Gresham >> Paps, but was $200 short!!

    John · 06/04/2016 at 09:43

I was thinking the same but idk if i should go r gray or sam mitchell for rockliff.

      Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 10:01

Def Gray. S Mitchell has never finished near being a top 8 mid in his career. Still plenty of time to bring Mitchell in later if he can keep his form up.

    SCaddict · 06/04/2016 at 10:55

Don't you just hate when that happens!

How about your man Sitch instead? Like a fine wine he only seems to be getting better with age.

I'm likely to trade him into my RDT side this week.

Sarah · 06/04/2016 at 09:49

While I normally advocate holding your premo's even for 1-2 week injuries or suspensions (after many examples of not doing this over the year which have backfired!!), I feel trading Rocky out has some merits this week.
My reasons for doing so are as follows:
– He's been in poor form
– He will miss at least 2 weeks with a calf strain
– His price is low to start with ($550k) and he will have a further price drop when he comes back (may get to sub $500k when he hits form)
– My trade target in Parker is priced even lower and by trading him in now, I feel I'll get him at his seasons lowest price
– I had been keen on Parker all preseason but couldn't squeeze him into my final structure (I am not jumping on a bandwagon, but rather using the opportunity to bring in a player I wanted all along!!)
– Rocky will be a cheaper, viable trade in target down the track (and yes, I do plan to trade him back in when he regains form)

So in conclusion, my 2 trades this week are:
– Rocky to Parker
– Gresham/Dunkley (whoever gets dropped or if both playing will be Gresham) to Papley (swinging Kerridge into the midfield)

Good luck with your trade decisions this week.

    Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 10:04

Exact same reasons I've moved him on only I've gone for R Gray. Good luck with it Sarah. I'll just say beware the buyback! I got burnt badly last year doing it with Sloan.

      Sarah · 06/04/2016 at 10:58

I think a lot of people got burnt with Sloane. But that's what happens when injuries strike! Good luck with Gray, I already have him.

    leviathan · 06/04/2016 at 10:08

    Hi Sarah,

I started with Parker and am obviously very pleased. I agree with you that Rocky has to go. I see far too many question marks about his fitness, form, etc. I have enough cash to trade in Robbie Gray for him. Even with Rocky in best form, Gray will be on his tail scoring wise in any case. So its Rocky to Gray for me. I see no point of having 550K sitting on my bench for 2-3 weeks without real clarity there after. Gray could get injured on Friday night, but thats Supercoach. Its about taking calculated risks IMO and for me this risk is very much worth it.

Lets hope Parko goes off again this weekend against GWS!

      Sarah · 06/04/2016 at 10:59

Gray is a good decision too, I started with him!! Can't start with them all unfortunately!! Now toying with Gray or Parker for VC!!

        tophawk · 06/04/2016 at 14:34

I am going VC on Gray this week. Essendon in Adelaide on the big stage on Friday night could mean a real biggie for Robbie.

    Grahame Lebroy · 06/04/2016 at 10:17

I have come around to thinking similar. Out of form, injury history this year, will be cheaper down the the track. I too was keen on Parker pre season but talked myself out of it and picked Rocky (clearly a wrong decision). If it was only a week different story, but calfs can be often turn out to be longer. If u don't have alot of corrective trades to make then its not a big deal.
Its not like he is in elite mid form.

      Sarah · 06/04/2016 at 11:00

Calf's are tricky injuries, I reckon he might be 3 weeks too or come back slowly.

    william gates · 06/04/2016 at 10:34

not against geelong nab near bog

    william gates · 06/04/2016 at 10:38

my apologies was talking about barlow

    SCaddict · 06/04/2016 at 11:00

Sounds good Sarah although with all your doubts over Barlow preseason now coming to fruition I thought he may be walking the plank for Texinator this week.

      Sarah · 06/04/2016 at 11:09

Barlow is a concern, but I'm sticking with my decision not to trade out premos unless they're injured this year. The numbers in the NAB don't lie. Freo have been awful, surely Ross has no choice but to go back to a structure that works with Barlow in the guts. Anyway, I'll see how it goes for at least one more week.
For me, Rocky is the priority trade this week.

What's the priority for your team this week Addicts?

        SCaddict · 06/04/2016 at 14:05

HMAS Barlow is getting scuttled in fleet Addicts due to a very leaky hull although I understand coaches keeping the faith or having other priorities this round. Will probably bring in a speedy Class JJ Destroyer for him.

Rocky I may hold for loophole purposes this week and then look to bring in Fyfe next week or shortly thereafter.

          The Ranger · 06/04/2016 at 14:12

          Any rookie adjustments SC?
I don't have Papley or Kennedy and can't quite decide how crucial it is to get them.
I'm trying to be really conservative with trades after running out of them last season due to that injury carnage!

            SCaddict · 06/04/2016 at 14:25

Not for me Ranger. I could get Hewett in for Keays but there could be a chance that Keays gets a game soon so I think I'll just sit tight there. I brought Papley in last week and started off the season with BenKen in my side.

I think both those guys should be high up the priority list for all those coaches who don't have them, even if it means swapping out under performing premos like Rocky and Barlow for them.

It won't take you long to spend the resulting war chest over the next few weeks and I reckon you will be quite chuffed by how much those two rookies fatten over the next month, whilst also being decent onground producers for their budget price tag.

              The Ranger · 06/04/2016 at 14:30

              Yeah they're pretty tempting eh?
I guess this is the round to do the rookie corrections and I should just bite the bullet and do it!
Gresham – Kennedy and McCarthy – Paps is looking likely.

                SCaddict · 06/04/2016 at 14:38

They look decent moves to me even though I'd still rather get rid of say a Barlow myself than a player with a negative BE like McCarthy but whatever it takes to get BenKen and Paps in. You'd hate McCarthy to kick a bag against the wounded Lions at the Cattery this weekend.

There's even a chance that BenKen could end up being a F6 keeper or a F7/M9 backup guy come Supercoach Finals as he's arguably been the Dee's best player over the first fortnight.

                  The Ranger · 06/04/2016 at 14:45

I did a last minute move from Barlow to Hall before R1 (phew!) and don't have Rocky so the only way to go is via other rookies. Could use any one of nine different rooks thru DPP"s which is adding to my dilemma!
Can't believe we're talking about Ben Kennedy in these terms as I'm a Pies man and having seen a fair bit of him I didn't think he was ever gonna make it at AFL level.
Just goes to show what a change of scenery and role can do for you.

                    SCaddict · 06/04/2016 at 14:50

Yep in that case you are already ahead of the curve with no Barlow or Rocky headaches to deal with so would just proceed with those two proposed rookie swaps then.

                    Sarah · 06/04/2016 at 15:50

Pies never gave him much of a go! He was talked up as a possible mini-draft selection for Adelaide when they chose Brad Crouch… but Kennedy was in the mix.

You've been very lucky so far Ranger missing the Rocky and Barlow issues!

        Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 14:39

Sarah your comments are always rational and considered. I've been flip flopping on what to do with Barlow all week. You've tipped me onto the "hold" bandwagon for 1 more week (also gives me another week to size up JJ).

          Southern S · 06/04/2016 at 14:41

Expect to lose about 100k by waiting though.

            Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 15:18

It's a risk but it could also save me a trade, plus I nailed all my rookies so I'm willing to take gamble on the $$$.

          Sarah · 06/04/2016 at 15:51

Thanks Jimi! You've still got to go with what you think is right no matter what anyone else says.

            Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 17:47

That's good because I've changed again after hearing Bennell is out indefinately!

leviathan · 06/04/2016 at 09:50

Hi community,

Thoughts on my trading moves this week after not trading last week.

Barlow via dpp to Josh Gibson instead of JJ as a POD MOVE.
Rockliff to Robbie Gray. Put VC on Gray Friday night.

Had both Tippa, M.Adams and M. Brown (Ess) in my backline. The Barlow to Gibbo trade has put Tippa as E on my forward bench. I have Petracca on my forward bench so a nice emergency loophole with Tippa.

I will not trade in Papley as I have all other key rooks and Petracca. I hope that Petracca will be better long term rookie than Papley and the fact I already have Petracca means I save a trade getting him and is the "Papley" by default. As such. I have been able to use my two trades this week on the acquisition of 2 power premos.

    Kev · 06/04/2016 at 10:20

Worth checking out Gibbo's history before you commit

    Northernsoul74 · 06/04/2016 at 10:20

Petracca looking at round 5 debut at the earliest according to The Age.

      Adds · 06/04/2016 at 12:51

so his price won't move to after round 7, Papley predicted to go up over $300k by then!

    Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 11:56

Barlow to Gibson reeks of point chasing to me. Having said that I wouldn't be getting JJ unless he proves himself in the Hawthorn game. Maybe hold Barlow for another week?

greyhorn · 06/04/2016 at 09:51

do not trade unless you really really need to. Yes, rocky injured but he's a premo…if you have bench cover you'll be fine overall 50 or 60 SC points is what he's getting anyway. Crazy crazy to be thinking about trading a promo away. He's only out for 2 weeks and they say scans are clear and recovery ok. think logically community

    Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 10:39

OK but consider all of this:

    – This weeks score was stuffed by injury, he is out for 2 more weeks (so already 3 weeks ruined by injury per Higgo's flowchart).
    – He has done his calf which can be notoriously slow to properly heal.
    – Even once healed he'll need another 2-3 weeks to get back to match fitness/form (5-6 weeks total at least).
    – Brisbane are notorious for rushing players back and/or playing them injured (Rocky was already playing with an arm injury + the apparently Beams will be back in just 4 weeks).
    – Brisbane rushed him back from injuries repeatedly in 2015 (he was playing with a broken rib for the first 1/2 of the year, plus something else later I can't properly recall).
    – He is generally an injury prone player anyway.
    – $550 is a lot of money to have on the bench at this early stage of the game.

OK maybe he isn't your #1 trade priority this week but hold him at your peril.

      Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 10:39

      Oh yeah, and no pre-season.

defence i'm happy with. Only need to bring in Shaw once he has dropped a bit and probably Mcveigh once he starts playing. If i have no other problems maybelook at upgrading Smith and Rich.

Lobbe is my problem, although he is playing essendon this week. The hope of trading Goldy in before round 7 when they play Saints, Essendon & carlton is looking a long shot

Shake n bake · 06/04/2016 at 10:18

I'm thinking Dunkley might get dropped this week, use as loophole or trade for paps? I also have Grimley so I'm doin 1 trade this week to get paps. Thinking Grimley?

    derek · 06/04/2016 at 10:27

you could be right. Dogs have already said that they intend to go in with an extra tall to make Gibson more accoutable

      Shake n bake · 06/04/2016 at 10:45

Hey Derek do you also think McCarthy is a chance to get dropped aswell with cockatoo returning? I have him aswell.

        derek · 06/04/2016 at 11:19

i think he has played pretty well. Not sure about his JS.

This is why i don't usually select rookies from the 'good' teams, due to limited opportunities. I probably won't bring in paps this week because of the same reason.

Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 10:42

Attention Community!

I am giving a call to stick with Barlow, and to also be wary of good ol' BenKen. Bold moves, but bare with me.

Barlow has been inefficient in his disposal use lately. However, if this improves as we know he is capable, his scores will go on the rise. AFL Fantasy had Barlow at 84 in round 1 (doesn't include efficiency of kicks to a large degree). I bet when Freo start playing well again, his efficiency will boost dramatically. Barlow averaged 60 in Rounds 3 & 4 of last year, yet bounced back the following week.

On the other hand, BenKen has been getting a similar amount of disposals to Barlow each week – yet obviously been more efficient. He's also scored a few goals, so relying a little on score involvements. He's currently playing in a Melbourne outfit that's doing well – what happens when they drop? His AFL Fantasy average for this year has been 85, so his efficiency is keeping his score high in the beautiful game of SC. The boy won't keep setting the world on fire.

In saying that, anyone who's started with BenKen – you've done well. But I don't see him as a mad necessity to bring in if you don't currently have him. As for Barlow, well, that's up to you. Don't even get me started on Rocky.

Good luck community. Trade or don't trade wisely.

    Southern S · 06/04/2016 at 14:14

    Attention community.

'Currently playing in a melbourne outfit that is doing well'……that's why they lost to the top ups, and Ben Kennedy still got 105 and outscored people like Jack Viney.

    Yet be wary of BenKen?

      Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 14:21

They played well against Giants, and only really lost the game against Essendon in the last moments. BenKen is doing great, don't get me wrong. If you've got him, good job. But he isn't a necessary 'must have', due to reliance on efficient kicks and score involvements.

        Southern S · 06/04/2016 at 14:36

I'd call him a must have. Has great job security over at melbourne now, and with no sub rule even better.

Priced under many first year rookies at 187k how is he not a lock with 110 and 105 scores, and a good NAB. That's 5 solid games so far.

His DE was only 62% vs the bombers and had zero goal assists.

Even if he gets 70's and 80's from here on he's a big lock…………………

paul · 06/04/2016 at 10:46

Do we have to trade papley in this week?

    Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 10:47

Depends who you have on your FWD bench. But I'd say yes – he's going to increase in price dramatically. Could put priorities elsewhere though, if needed. He won't maintain a 100 average.

      paul · 06/04/2016 at 10:51

I've currently got menadue and tipungwuti on my FWD bench. But i don't know whether to go barlow-zach merret and then rocky to r-gray or to go barlow to papley and rocky to r-gray then leave $370k in the kitty thnaks.

        Chill · 06/04/2016 at 10:52

Paul, I would go Barlow to Papley, Rocky to Gray and bank the rest.

Ok but what about zach merret his breakeven is only 36

            Kev · 06/04/2016 at 11:12

Holty · 06/04/2016 at 10:56

trades for next 2 weeks.
Steele and Barlow to Papley and Gray

next week.
Rocky to either Danger or Fyfe ( probably Danger for durability)

I will then wait patiently for rookies to appreciate to fill my forward and back lines as i will be happy to hold my midfields for the season depending on injuries of course.

Soldiers · 06/04/2016 at 10:58

May be a stupid question but If I have Menadue in the forward line and no DPP in the midfield.

Is there a way I can switch Gresham for Papley and move Menadue to the midfield?

    Holty · 06/04/2016 at 11:06

yes. Hit trade on Gresham, it takes u to the trade screen and move Menadue to the mids before u select trade in player.

    derek · 06/04/2016 at 11:34

hit trade Gresham. Then click on the big S next to one of your forward DPP. then you can trade paps.

Community i need your help.
I have 2 options and I cant decide which one is best

Option 1: trade milera to papley, and rockliff to ablett or gray, I feel like trading milera to papley is a bit of a waste but it also gives me enough cash for ablett

Option 2: barlow to papley, rockliff to ablett or gray, this leaves me 351k in the bank so i can waste another trade next week Upgrading to a premium
If you have another option as well let me know

    Wattsieesq · 06/04/2016 at 11:37

Option 1 saves you trades. Barlow is a keeper and will come good in my opinion. I don't think he'll do well this week against the Eagles but after that, I can see him getting back to some form.

      mark · 06/04/2016 at 12:26

do you reckon ablett or gray though?

        Wattsieesq · 06/04/2016 at 13:33

Tough. I have Ablett but am still concerned about his durability. Gray seems better value and durability. Flip a coin.

he was a keeper. Do you honestly think he still is? You need to rely on to many things to change for this to happen. If Ross doesnt move him back to the mids, he wont average 70 and more importantly, if he doesnt have room for him in the mids, I doubt he will have a spot in the side in a few weeks.

        Mark · 06/04/2016 at 13:13

Im gonna give him another chance… I might go rocky to gray so if barlow spuds it up again i will have some cash to upgrade him

        Wattsieesq · 06/04/2016 at 13:32

If you have seen his heat map for the first two rounds, Barlow has been operating out of the mid field. The suggestion he hasn't is not true. He has got 19 possession per game, its just his DE that has let him down.

Archie · 06/04/2016 at 11:18

Anybody considering Zorko this week?

Thinking about a Rockliff to Zorko. I can see Zorko being a top 8 forward but can't really see any midfield options at that price being top 15 midfielders at years end. Parker included.

Thoughts community?

conor · 06/04/2016 at 11:19

considering ive got all of the rookies already would rockliff to parish be a good option?

    Wattsieesq · 06/04/2016 at 11:37

    Holty · 06/04/2016 at 12:35

only trade out a premium to replace him with another. Im trading Barlow fir Papley but also bringing in Gray for Steele.

Jim · 06/04/2016 at 11:19

How much cash will barlow lose if we hold him this week?

    Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 11:22

Could be $50K. But I think holding is a great idea. He's just going through a small bad patch – he averaged 113 in the NAB, and the last 6 years he has averaged between 85 and 110 each season. I think he will bounce back.

      derek · 06/04/2016 at 11:25

if he scores about 174, we won't lose anything 😉

        Youngy · 06/04/2016 at 11:31

        he should get there.

          Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 11:32

Barlow will do it easy 😉 he's just been conserving energy for the Derby!

          Jim · 06/04/2016 at 11:41

So i should hold barlow then go gresham to papley swing, then rocky to gray?

            Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 12:11

I'd say yes, but that's just my opinion.

Hferg · 06/04/2016 at 11:26

barlow –> BKennedy or Papley??????

help community

    Youngy · 06/04/2016 at 11:32

Kennedy, not convinced that Papey has great JS. but I will still be getting Papey in my team as I already have Kennedy

    James Sykes · 06/04/2016 at 11:58

kennedy over papley….as above…better job security.

    Coach · 06/04/2016 at 11:59

Can't lose either way.. I'm holding Barlow for now and trading Gresh to Paps via Kennedy..

Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 11:29

Also forgot to mention – last four seasons he has averaged between 93 and 111, and only missed 6 games in that time. Hold for now, great stuff Kev.

    Southern S · 06/04/2016 at 14:16

Let's get to specifics though, last year he averaged 93. Now he's started 2016 badly and is a 28 year old player that seems on the decline. It happens to the best of players.

      Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 14:23

Hence why many are trading him out. But realistically, 28 years of age is not an age of decline for most players mate..that's a prime age if anything. Can see upsides in trading him, but honestly I think he will bounce back in next few weeks.

CapTnKaOs · 06/04/2016 at 11:33

Patchy performances from some of the ultra premos have a silver lining. (I'm looking at you Heater. But there are others.) They might be earlier trade in opportunities than I first thought.
I missed out on Libba at the start of the season, so will bring him in for Rocky and start building the warchest immediately.
I see Libba as a M8 keeper.

aza · 06/04/2016 at 11:46

Is Heater a concern to anyone or am i the only one who grabbed him?

    Coach · 06/04/2016 at 11:56

Hold Heater.. Nothing to be gained by trading

    James Sykes · 06/04/2016 at 11:57

he will finish in the top 6 defenders by years end so he is a keeper…..
its his disposal efficiency that is killing him….he'll fix that.

    CapTnKaOs · 06/04/2016 at 12:00

Shouldn't be a concern. He has the ability to completely turn it around in one week. I think you paid peak price for him, but everyone will want him in their team by the back end of the season. My advice is sit tight and enjoy the good scores when they come.

@grayson_lowee · 06/04/2016 at 11:48

Hey guys, excellent podcast as always, I'm pretty excited because im in 3 leagues that are ranked 14th, 17th and 20th (the one i created), so hopefully one of them can get up and win the prize at the end of the season.
Before i made any trades this round i already had 200k in the bank, but my trades this week are: Barlow to Papley, and Rockliff to Zaharakis, this leaves me with just over 730K in the bank, and as of now, i dont really need to make any more corrective trades, although depending on how JJ plays against hawthorn, i might ddo an early upgrade of M. Dea because i dont quite trust him to score well enough on field. I'm also really hoping that H.Shaw has a couple of stinkers and gets down to about 500k, which is when ill snap him up.
Best of luck to everyone else this season, and may the supercoach gods not smite thee.

    Jonathan Camac · 06/04/2016 at 13:33

You'd be stoked! Great stuff mate.

James Sykes · 06/04/2016 at 11:49

fellas, which two of these 4 trades do you think
rocky > Parker
barlow > j martin
petrecca > papley
bartel > johnnisen

    Coach · 06/04/2016 at 11:54

Rocky > Parker & Petrecca > Papley.. You get the biggest $$$ cow and a form player..

    Southern S · 06/04/2016 at 18:01

Just remember that parker will be in 40% of teams now.

Shemmistwarehouse · 06/04/2016 at 11:52

thoughts on jack gunston boys? he has been improving every season with an average of 90 in 2014 then an average of 96 in 2015 and now an average of 110 in the first two rounds of this season. could he be a really nice pod for someone looking to offload someone like barlow?

    shemmistwarehouse · 06/04/2016 at 12:01

*community women play this great game as well!

      Holley hell · 06/04/2016 at 13:00

Well said. I have two girls in my SC team and one is a gun who scored 2398 points last week. Having said that, Shemmi just forgot himself.

    Coach · 06/04/2016 at 12:03

Love a POD & he's a good one… Will score well in a gun team..

      shemmistwarehouse · 06/04/2016 at 12:11

i think he's more reliable than merrett as well, he has more runs on the board plus he's playing for a better side

Marco_Polo94 · 06/04/2016 at 12:40

absolutely lost it at the ross comment: "You've done it again!" That bastard is the bane of all super coaches. My experience in this game tells me to hold Barlow, and the thought of him becoming a POD and Ross admitting they changed structures and it hasn't worked all peaks my arousal…. But thats just it. I can't bloody trust this man. Who's to say whether the structure changes. Who's to say what impact Bennell will have on Barlow's role. You're a bloody nightmare Ross and I just don't think I have the guts to hold another week…. maybe. I do know I'm bringing in Paps this week for either Gresham or dunkley.

    shemmistwarehouse · 06/04/2016 at 12:48

its tough isn't is! i think he's a possibility to play more midfield this week so i wanna gve him one week. but what if he doesn't? he may lose up to 50k then someone like merrett may go up 40k or gunston 20k snd you could possibly lose 70-90k if you decide to get one of those guys

    Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 17:49

I'm reducing my Ross Lyon exposure. With Bennell out indefinitely Barlow is now out. If it comes back to bite me so be it, but at least I'll no longer be subject to the whim of that madman Lyon.

Steeeve · 06/04/2016 at 12:54

Wingard out for at least a week.
Looks like I'll hold Barlow after all, need all the help I can get with Chad and Rocky both warming the pine.

Is Hewett any chance of being dropped? Could straight swap to Papley if so…

    SCaddict · 06/04/2016 at 13:17

Yes would've been nice to have The Chad out there ripping apart the Dons but if it helps him avoid a LTI I guess it's for the best.

      derek · 06/04/2016 at 14:24

this is why he was in my team to go big

tuxCS · 06/04/2016 at 12:55

A public service announcement to all supercoaches who dont understand how to trade a FWD to a DEF via another rookies DPP swing. For this example i will use Barlow to J.Johannisen.
Step 1: Click trade on Barlow.
Step 2: In the trade menu, click S (substitute) on any DEF rookies who can swing FWD.
Step 3: This will then allow you to trade a FWD (Barlow) to a DEF (Johannisen) whilst only using one trade.
It took me way too long to understand how to do this until luckily i stumbled upon a hidden comment by Derek. Hope this helps guys – tux

    derek · 06/04/2016 at 14:42

    Thanks tux.

The skill doesn't stop there. people should look at doing a multi-level trade using their DPP players.

say you wanted to bring Hartley (DEF only) in for Gresham (MID only) and you don't have any DEF/MID players in your team (everyone probably has Bartel or someone, but say you don't).

    1) Trade Gresham
    2) Click on the big S next to a MID/FWD player – say Menadue
    3) Click on the big S next to a DEF/FWD player – say Adams
    4) then you click on your trade in player – Hartley

    Bang – trade complete.

Once you get the hang of this multi-level trading, you can not only trade players in and out who you didn't think possible because there wasn't a straight forward link, you can also use a simple MID >> MID trade to re-organise your other lines by moving players across lines in the one trade.

Example if you trade Gresham to Gore, you could do it the easy way or you could trade via Bartel/Adams/Menadue and bring bartel to your mids if you wanted a MID/FWD swing set, Adams to your defence if you wanted a DEF/FWD swing set and Menadue to your forward line if you wanted a MID/FWD swing set.

play with it and see what you can do.

The more DPP players you have the more fun.

Nifty · 06/04/2016 at 12:55

Wingard is out this week..

    shemmistwarehouse · 06/04/2016 at 13:08

    are you sure?

      Nifty · 06/04/2016 at 13:44

Yes Champ.. all over twitter from AFL..

    Holty · 06/04/2016 at 13:40

hold. should only be a week

    derek · 06/04/2016 at 14:48

great!!! now all i need is to find out Rich and pendlebury won't play this week.

I started the week worried about all 4. As the week has gone worst fears are starting to be realised.

Lones22 · 06/04/2016 at 13:27

First trades for the season

Rockliff > Libba
Barlow > Dusty

Even if Barlow picks up I'm happy to get dusty in because I started without him, and I basically traded out tackle machine for tackle machine in the mid.

Mark · 06/04/2016 at 13:43

    Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 13:49

Meh, I'll get excited when he's on the bubble at -50 BE.

shemmistwarehouse · 06/04/2016 at 13:49

is milera/mccarthy- parish a waste of a trade?

    Marco_Polo94 · 06/04/2016 at 13:53

Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 14:41

After much sole searching (and reversing):

Rockliff to Hartley
Gresham to R Gray

Barlow gets a reprieve, but if that Freo structure doesn't change this week and result in a serious increase in output then he's out.

    Mac · 06/04/2016 at 16:56

With Bennel out indefinetly does I assume Barlow's role won't change until he returns so I'm thinking of trading Barlow and keeping Rocky.

      Mac · 06/04/2016 at 16:57

      But thats just me

        Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 17:46

Yeah heard about Bennell just after posting this. Spanner in the works.

Now I've gone back to my original trade

        Rockliff to R Gray
        Barlow to Merrett

          Jimi · 06/04/2016 at 17:46

Under no circumstances will I be keeping Rocky. He is done.

    Southern S · 06/04/2016 at 17:59

Don't like the Hartley trade yet, has only played one.

Mac · 06/04/2016 at 16:57

Community I need your help. With Bennel out indefinetly does I assume Barlow's role won't change until he returns so I'm thinking of trading Barlow and keeping Rocky.

Ethan · 06/04/2016 at 17:38

Out of the 3, who to trade out, Rocky, Rich, Barlow.

and if i do bring someone in do i go for papley and fyfe+cash to upgrade a midpricer soon or JJ and Parker/Ward/Titchell

Troy · 06/04/2016 at 17:40

Barlow to papley and Steele to Libba

De goey to papley and Steele to Libba

    Southern S · 06/04/2016 at 17:58

2 for me, but Barlow might go alright this week never know…………….

Actually WCE gonna smash em freo start 0-3 Ross crumbles and barlow is dumped.

No.1 all the way. Give Gooey another shot.

CJudd3Votes · 06/04/2016 at 18:46

Given the early inconsistency what are people feeling is a viable score to use the captains loophole this year? Last year I was looking at 130+ however at this stage it seems like you can keep rankings by playing it safe and taking a score of 120 rather than swinging for a home run score and risking a heartbreaking 70-80

MASO · 06/04/2016 at 19:22

Great casting of the POD gentlemen 🙂
I've made a few good moves so far not starting rocky or barlow but with every good move we have bad ones it seems 🙁 i decided not to go in with libba 🙁 is he a must have ? i know he is cheapest he will be all year but will he be top 10 mid ? if he isnt going to be a top 10 mid then it would seem pointless to trade him in now as it will end up being 2 trades if i upgrade him later in year.
Not sure if the trade i save now will be that one i need at the pointy end or will it be the one that stops me getting to the pointy end??

    Russ · 06/04/2016 at 22:35

He's averaging 116 in 2 weeks so……….this would be the week to get him in, you probably don't wanna wait till he's 500 k.

I would say with the year the Bulldogs might have, he could easily end up a top 10 mid, maybe even top 5.

P.S it's not pointless, if it works for your team 🙂

Basil · 06/04/2016 at 20:49

Kennedy or Papley??? Scoring potential cash

    Russ · 06/04/2016 at 22:00

Both if you can, they're both must haves.

Russ · 06/04/2016 at 21:57

I went Rocky to Parish and Barlow to Papley, $782000 in the bank…lol, I was thinking I'll keep an eye on some of my players like Bartell, who's been spudding, and B. Crouch, whose scores have been a bit underwhelming, Seedsman, who hasn't really done what I wanted him to yet, with a view to an upgrade to some gun performers. Everyone else in my side, I'm fairly happy with so far.

I don't believe however that 2 rounds is enough to determine if someone is a gun or not., 3 or 4 scores pretty much prompts me to make a decision.

    Russ · 06/04/2016 at 21:58

Only reason I dumped Barlow after 2 was because I just had to have Papley, he's unmissable.

    Southern S · 07/04/2016 at 11:24

I like your thinking because locking in premos now is basing it on a couple of scores, which is risky. example – Parker.

Whilst he's a good player I'm not jumping on that bandwagon and assuming he's gonna go big all year. He's not incredibly cheap either.

Can buy him later if I have to for probably 550-600k.

      Russ · 07/04/2016 at 23:37

Thanks for the feedback Southern, I feel the same way about Parker, best to wait, Tom Mitchell looks a better Sydney prospect atm, he's on fire, but i think Parish is special and could have a huge year, the kid's workrate is phenomenal, and he really wants the ball.
I reckon he could become a premo midfield keeper in his first season, here's hoping anyways 🙂

Jason · 07/04/2016 at 09:34

Peoples thoughts on – Rocky to A.Hall and Gresham to Papley ?

    Southern S · 07/04/2016 at 11:21

Baggy Pants · 07/04/2016 at 16:55

Whats the communities thoughts on the Swans midfielders. Out of Hanners, Tich, Parker, Kennedy which ones could end the year as top 8 mids.
Thanks in advance

    Russ · 07/04/2016 at 23:38

I like Mitchell this year for going big and being consistent.

Craig · 07/04/2016 at 23:02

Nobody jumping on Waite? Roos seem strong and his last 5 rounds last year were a solid 101? What am i missing?

    Russ · 07/04/2016 at 23:39

He's either turned a corner in his career or he's just being a temporary flash in the pan, too inconsistent for me.

jimmydowland · 08/04/2016 at 00:32

Jock im in serious need of advice, i have zach tuoey as my d4. do you suggust a trade to Jason Johanasion… thoughts mate
