PODCAST WILL BE RELEASED TUESDAY THIS WEEK – I’VE GONE FISHIN FOR THE PUBLIC HOLDAY. JOCK
Legend BVC! A very helpful tool
I agree,he's very helpful but The Baron is certainly no tool..
absolute superstar Barron. This site never fails to surprise.
Now wonder if the podcast will come out today on the long weekend?
Thanks for this. Does anyone know where I can find the scores/tog of every player in the comp? It floated around last season.
Fan footy website or afl.com in advanced stats
Footy wire is good too. In saying that in the past there has been an excel spreadsheet of a table floating around showing all players scores and what score would have been if they played 100% game time etc. I think it usually comes out just before season starts.
All of the links are on my website. oldocker.com "Ultimate Spreadsheet" you will find here on this site but the link to it is on my site too
Think that was on DT Talk.
I agree with Leighroy, Footy Wire is the easiest to use stats record and has everything you could need
Cheers baron looks the goods will go over it tonight.
Nice Barron will be a very handy resource for Rookie research.
Cheers.
This is great!
Can this be open this on iphone somehow?
No because it is an Excel file ( microsoft ) and it's not compatible with Iphone ( I'm pretty sure) if you had one of them Microsoft phones you'd be laughing haha.. I'm like you though I had to use my computer to check lol.
There is an Office 365 Excel app you could try to open it with.
Try this PJ https://imazing.com/fileapp-the-first-opendocumen…
Download sheets app and open In That, works perfecto
Hey Barron, having issues with it.
When i open the spreadsheet theres no data on it other then info bar across the top.
Why would this be?
The first tab just includes notes – you need to click on the other tabs at the bottom of the page for players in each position.
ahhh champion
Cheers bud.
for the people that dont have office and cant see it can some kind person put it up in the comments please
Try and work it on your mobile phone mate, its my viewing playform.
Google openoffice it's free and does everything Microsoft office does. Made by apache so it's safe and reputable.
Very nice
Love ya work
That Ollie Tabooger looks the goods. He's a lock for mine
Still a bit green. Next year I reckon.
I've had him since day dot.
WTF is Ollie Tabooger
Clayton Oliver?
This is amazing! Well done BVC, you legend!
Great work Barron!
It looks like there is more value in defence and the forward line compared to the midfield. I'm thinking I might have to go deeper in the middle this year so I can fit an extra rookie in defence and up forward.
How does my team look
Shaw, houli, docherty (Collins
Weitering, brown, Hartley (bonner)
Ablett, Pendlebury, Rockliff, Cripps
Libba, crouch, wells, mills
(Gore, Cunningham, Mathieson)
Nic Nat, Martin
(Chol)
Deledio, Zorko, Barlow
Gray, kerridge, petracca
(Kommer, grimely)
Not bad if it was under budget
Yeah it is
Need to do something about having Petracca on the ground. Not expected to play in the senior side straight away. Downgrade Deledio into Dusty/Dahlhaus and look at someone like Linc McCarthy maybe?
Get rid of Delidio and Zorko and strengthen you backline. Sheridan and Johanisen appear great value and you will get better returns from forward/mid rookies that are avail. Even just swapping to Toby Greene will save you some cash and he may score better than either of them. Must get Parish in your midfield!! And Brad Crouch if he is playing!
Oh yeah, Mathisen received a broken jaw on weekend I think, so he may well not front up round one??
No better time for this…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPmb0F00YPE
Ha ha nice throtts
Shaw, Birchall, KK
Weitering, Hartley, brown
(Bonner, broad)
Ablett, Pendlebury, rockcliff, Shiel
Wines, Libba, menadue, Gresham
(Cunningham, Mathieson, freeman)
Martin, Gawn
(Cox)
Martin, dalhaus, Merrett
Barlow, kerridge, grimely
(Kommer, petracca)
Any thoughts and comments please
Very nice. Good spread premos, consistent mid-pricers and possible breakouts. Only concern is starting without both Goldy and Fyfe. Could pay off though.
PRETTY SHIT TO ME
I've never seen a prettyshit so I don't think you'll get many sent to you. You can have some of mine but they're quite ugly
Actually mate, I think you are missing some valuable cash cows! You have a limp wristed backline. Trade Zorko and Martin for maybe Grimely and Simpkin. They are likely to play and will be serviceable compared to some of your backline which could be helped by trimming off a couple of doubtful cashcows (remember you are looking for 60+ points from your rookies! Upgrade to potential 90pt players who are well priced such as Tommy Sheridan and Jason Johanisen. This will also give you a couple of hundred to upgrade your midfield rookies who should score well such as Darcy Parish. Martin is expensive and a great pick, but picking up maybe Nic Nat will allow you another quality back man such as Kade Koldinaschi! I think you will be a much higher scorer if you concentrate on solid scoring midfield rookies and some Mid/fwds as they normally score better than rear end rookies!! Hope it helps!
And here I was watching spongebob with my 2yr old, coffee in hand thinking "I need to populate the NAB scores in a spreadsheet" and whalla! Great stuff BVC!
Voila indeed.
Great work BVC! Will be very handy indeed!
Community, who is the best midfield premium around 570k? Currently have Ward and Shiel, but I didn't mind Treloar on the weekend.
Ward or Treloar or similar priced premo mid?
Treloar mate. Gun
Isn't Parker cheaper …
I'm on my iPad and i am unable to do download the NAB rookie spreadsheet, suggestions?
buy a laptop
sheets app opens it no problem
I FRIGGIN LOVE YOU GUYS
Might be a bit silly but can't get it on my iPhone. When I click on to download tells me error has occurred.
Well between BVC spreadsheet and Old Ockers my morning has been well spent. This community has gone to another level
download it, go to open and says it cant be found :/
Bloody brilliant effort thanks mate. Much appreciated.
Some absolute gold to be made in defenders and forwards this year. It seems as though the most likely mid cash-cows are all either of inflated prices (Mills, Oliver, Parish) or injured and/or not expected to play early (Freeman, Petracca, possibly Mathieson)
Makes the loophole an easy pick this year, at least 🙂
R3. What is everyone going for?
1/Non playing cheap player for loophole
2/your grimley type player that will score but poorly
Im going wyatt in R3 for a loophole but have grimley forward just in case. Cheers!
Yea that's might thought process
I'm just concerned about grimleys output. So many better options in the forward line to fatten up as cash cows
I'm probably leaning to no grimley and risk no back up in the ruck and trust my set and forget structure
I have gone with bench ruck option for my loophole and dumped grimley there are better bench options
yep agreed about grimley.
Sinclair , tippet and Blicavs are your swingmen and I can't pick any of them for my mind. I'd say Sinclair if anyone but has an awkward price
I think that's why many are going grimley on the bench
@Damo
I'm putting Grimley on the bench in the Ruck and I'm going to choose a Ruck/Fwd in the forward line. Some players will trade out a ruckman if they miss a week or two through suspension or injury – I'd rather just be able to cover them by swinging my Fwd/Ruck into the Ruck.
The problem is I haven't worked out who it might be yet! Sinclair perhaps?
Cheers BVC!
The foward rooks are scarce this year…
What do people think of a defence with Shaw, Simpson, Bartel, Weitering, Hartley and Brown sound like?
Sounds solid mate, don't know if I rate Bartel this year in the forward line,. better options out there. Reckon Dea is a better pick over Weitering this year too. Will be consistent and just that $40k less.
Barron Von Crow
You sir an absolute gentleman! Thank you so much
542k to spend on a defender already have laird
rance
Like the look of McGovern
Like JJ and upgrade Laird to Shaw
Great work barron!works well on the mobile!!
Barron, this is outstanding! Extremely helpful mate, great job!
Is it bad to start without Ablett, Rockliff, Parker and Libba and select Pendles, Priddis, Gray and Oliver?
If I do that trade my mids would be:
Fyfe, Danger, Pendles, Priddis, Gray, Mills, Oliver, Gresham plus 3 bench rookies?
compared to
Fyfe, Danger, Ablett, Rockliff, Parker, Libba, Mills, Gresham
Hi there beast. Personally I prefer option 1. Not completely sold on libba but hes to much of a bargain not to start with. My current midfield is Fyfe, Danger, Pendles, Rockliff, Shiel, Cripps, Libba, Mills plus 3 bench rookies. Good luck beast!
I think you need gaz, libba and rocky
I like it, why be the same as everyone else. And the ones you have chosen all played 22, or close to last year.In the second option, 4 were injured and some re-injured, cough, Rockcliff, again fairly quickly.
exactly my thoughts footy_bec
I feel the locked and loaded midfield with players having interupted pre seasons and current injuries is a massive risk rather than a safe play. With the interchange cap we need really fit players that can play max % game time for max scores.
Phroaw get on Menegloa to reach $967,500 based on that NAB form. If only he could get on and stay on the park eh!
Put my team together and would love some feedback
Laird docherty hurn dea brown hartley – broad adams
Danger ablett priddis gray ward shiel libba mills – petracca Mathieson davis
Nicnat gawn – wyatt
Barlow green hall wells milera kerridge – grimley tippa (ess)
Currently my team is this:
DEF: Shaw, Laird, Bartel, Weitering, Dea, Hartley (Brown, Collins)
MID: Fyfe, Dangerfield, Ablett, Rockliff, Liberatore, B Crouch, Mills, B Kennedy (David, Hewett, Mathieson)
RUC: Goldstein, Martin (Chol)
FWD: Deledio, Barlow, Hall, Wells, Milera, Kerridge (AMT, Menadue)
Defence – My three premiums are picked as i feel they will all be top 6 in points for that category this year. Little be nerved by some of the Essendon rookies performances yesterday, however i don't feel that they will be destroyed by that amount every week.
Midfield – The 4 super premiums will provide me with huge amounts of points and i feel that none of them are too overpriced. Brad Crouch collected 40 possessions in the SANFL on Saturday so his scoring capabilities are not in doubt. Im aware that the standard is lowered but that also proves his fitness. Crows will certainly play him rd 1, as long as he doesn't go too the Royal Croquet Club in the next few weekends :'). Im also aware Mathieson will be out, just yet to hear any news about the extent to his injury.
Ruck – SET AND FORGET, using chol as the 'vc' loophole. Grimley isn't proficient enough i believe to generate cash or be of worth. So i believe the loophole will provide me with more points on the whole.
Forward – Now the big question all probably going through your head is,'WHY NO MARTIN!!', i feel the problems going on with his dad will interrupt his season. Deledio had an average of 112 last year with the exclusion of an injury that would of been 115+. I'm willing to pay a bit more for for, (115.20-22). Gold coast would be mad not to play Hall in the mid even when the guns come back, i feel he is a lock after last years end and his Nab form. With Swallow and O'Meara to be out until near mid season it should further provide scoring potential for Hall. As a whole my FWD is probably my strongest line in terms of locks with even my bench rookies to have some good scoring outlet.
I came in the 1000's last year and would like to improve on that this year, all selections are subject to RD 1 selections and injuries in the coming weeks. Any thoughts and suggestions will be handy, but please don't be too harsh!
PS: YOUR'E A BLOODY LEGEND BARRON..
I have decided to go with Lids over martin as well, with the tigers needing to start well I think Lids will step up and he is more consistent than Martin. I reckon we can get martin for around 450K later.
Defence looks solid, as much as the defence rookies won't produce consistent scores this year I think having Weitering/Dea on field you'll be alright. I don't think Bartel will be a top six defender this year IMO, better options out there.
All your other lines look solid as, can't point out any negatives in them mate. Good luck in cracking the top 1k this year
Cheers Tiges, any other options instead of Bartel, who do you reckon?
Bartel was probabaly my biggest worry in the whole team
Bartel for me is a huge lock. Been flagged for more mid time this year and was still pumping out 100's when he did come back from injury!
Team looks great but to me looks like your about 1 million over budget there. Can't see how you managed to fit all those top end players in?
If you did great, just curious
1k left 🙂
Looks solid but B.Crouch I heard on the radio this morning may not play round 1. Speculation but keep in mind.
Ill take BCrouch even if he doesnt play Rnd 1, im ok for him to warm the bench for a game.
If B Crouch is named rd1 he's in my team to.
LOVE your team, very… very similar to mine… 2 players different are salem for shaw in the backline as im a mad melbourne supporter and i expect him to reach premo this year and want to get shaw cheaper. I have Gawn instead of Martin, Viney instead of David and, Sam Gray instead of Lids. Lids will be one i expect to drop too
Who is this "David". Can't fine it as. Last name…cheers..:)
Davis sorry
Now that's a bloody nice ream Ben. Love that the onfield rookies look to be strong scorers. It looks like you may have dropped a mid prem for strong rookie (compared to many other shown teams holding 5 super premiums). The balance and scoring potential this has created is great. I'm gonna have a look at this for my team. I've decided against Bartel this year. Favouring JJ instead at the moment. He took Yeo's spot based on nab form. Be nice to have a talented eagle onboard…but i digress. Houli is another option. May need to go Martin to Gawn to achieve upgrade, but he may reap some early rewards with grigg and conca out for a few. Anyway thanks for sharing and all the best this year
Your team may look good at first glance but after dissecting your team a little it looks like a disaster as you have to many mid & high priced rookies such as: Weitering 220k, Dea 183k, Hall 428k, Crouch 306, Mills 211k, B Kennedy 187k, Wells 243k, Milera 175k, Menadue 155k
Out of all those I can understand having Mills, Wells & Dea to a lesser digree but thats max.
Having all these will impact your cash generation to upgrade later big time, not to mention 50% of them will lose you cash as proven in the past.
Lastly I cannot understand why you chose B Kennedy over Gresham, the guy is 44k cheaper and a lock IMO.
If your mid priced players & high priced rookies all fire you will WIN the $50k, but the risk is high & it takes balls of steel to go with this many high priced players, its never worked in the past but you never know. Good luck mate.
Oh and Hall I can understand.
That is fair to indicate that i do have a lot ot mid price players. They are all chosen on performance based reasons. Regarding rookies costing 150-200k. Its really not a risk picking them. It is actually easier to upgrade an elevated in price rookiess they are already worth more.
I havent seen much off gresham, he scored poorly in the Nab, would of loved to see him vs brisbane :/
Thoughts guys ??
Shaw, docherty, Birchall
Weitering, dea, brown
Bonner, Hartley
Ablett, Pendlebury, rocklciff, Shiel
Cripps, Libba, mills, Oliver
Cunningham, Mathieson, Clarke
Martin, Nic Nat
Wyatt
Lids, Barlow, gray
Wells, b. Kennedy, kerridge
Petracca, grimely
Really like your team Josh!
Only adjustments worth contemplating is having 3 essendon backmen. Maybe take out Hartley or Brown for a Rugges from Geelong & in the midfield the quartet of Rocky/Shiel/Cripps/libba. That four players probably needs a little less risk but if it comes off you will be laughing.
Everything else solid brother
An unbelievable resource. WOW! Thank You!
Mathieson has in fact got a broken cheek bone
Ok this is my latest team and yes I have decided not to go with Libba so I can generate the most cash with the best rookies across all lines. Added bonus is the DPP links which is not on purpose just how the rookies played out. Would love some feedback.
Defenders
B. Houli, R. Laird, J. Lonegarn, J. Weitering, M. Dea M. Hartley (broad,Adams)
Midfielders
Fyfe, P. Dangerfield, S. Pendlebury, G. Ablett, D. Hannebery, Mills, Oliver, Davis (Menadue,Gresham,Petrraca)
Rucks
Goldy, Gawn
Forwards
Lids, M. Barlow, Hall , Wells, Kennedy S. Kerridge (McCarthy, Tippa)
Exactly my thoughts, I have been playing around with my structure, and by using the extra money from Libba to Oliver, I can use it to strengthen other lines. seems to have worked well for your team as well!
Looks pretty good to me also. I think a rookie will make more than Libba too. Davis not elevated yet though?
Don't be persuaded to much by NAB performaces regarding LIbba
Its more to do with my structure than form, I don't consider Libba top 8 mid so would rather get in a rookie and look to upgrade to a fallen premium later in year. If you consider Libba top 8 mid then yeah lock him in.
I am surprised you don't consider Libba a keeper. Did average 110 in 2014. Otherwise, a different team, defence needs a bit of work, either Lonergan/Weitering should be upgraded. Both are alright midpricers but your defence might not score too well early
c.ward or d.shiel?
and why?
Ward – Super consistent, not likely to get the tag, never misses games you know you will always get that 110 score from him, plays in the guts and off the half back and gets contested and uncontested possessions.
My thoughts exactly. Thanks beast!
Shiel. He will explode this year
Ward for the reasons that SCB gave plus, Shiel has the misfortune of regularly missing games through injury
Can we have both Ward and Shiel in our midfields? I've heard Sarah mention Ward as POD and I'm a little worried that Rocky is under done fitness wise not having played a NAB Challenge game
Tough call, but Ward as he can handle a tag better and has shown he is a consistent scorer
Alright guys, I'm pretty happy with the team I have built here. I am a bit unsure about the amount of cash sitting on the bench in places but I've got 11 days to figure that one out. RIP IT TO SHREDS FELLAS
DEFENDERS:
H. SHAW, K. KOLODJASHNIJ, J. MCGOVERN, J. WEITERING, M. DEA, M. BROWN (ESS)
// K. COLLINS, A. MCDONALD-TIPUNGWUTI
MIDFIELDERS:
P. DANGERFIELD, S. PENDLEBURY, G. ABLETT, D. HANNEBERY, T. ROCKLIFF, T. LIBERATORE, C. MILLS, C. OLIVER
// J. GRESHAM, R. MATHEISON, T. PHILLIPS
RUCKS:
T. GOLDSTEIN, S. MARTIN
// D. WYATT
FORWARDS:
D. MARTIN, M. BARLOW, D. WELLS, B. KENNEDY, W. MILERA, S. KERRIDGE
// C. MENADUE, C. PETRACCA
I'm not sold on KK but many are. Looks good, although not a lot of POD. But that might sit fine with you!
Im not sold Kk either, swap Kk to JJ and free up some cash for first trade.
Love the mills and oliver selection, i want both but may only go with one, as i'd much prefer crouch.
Very solid side mate.
thoughts on my team?
shaw, houli, laird, sheridan, dea, hartley (M. Adams, A. McDonald Tipungwuti)
fyfe, dangerfield, gaz, rockliff, libba, mills, parish, kerridge (gore, petracca, davis)
Martin, Gawn (korchek (loophole))
dusty, barlow, hall, D. Menzel, wells, Milera (b. kennedy, m. brown)
cheers
Looks very solid.
love the spread sheet, now for some thoughts on my team please guys
laird gibbo rosa johan dea broad brown bonner
fyfe ablett rocky parker libba b crouch kerridge mathieson hewett davis macpherson
nicnat z smith cox
zorko wingard barlow greene wells menadue mccarthy adams
any feed back would b great
Barron – you're a dead set ripper mate. I'm off fishin with Higgo and Crouching today folks – podcast will be out tomorrow
What are you fishing for Jock? I do quiet a bit of fishing myself.
Essendon Supporters on BigFooty? haha
Swordfish mate
Here's V42, any constructive criticism would be appreciated.
I've had to download my F4 (Dalhaus) to a rookie to get another cash generation in to get the better rookies (Dea, Kennedy, Oliver) who are ensured best 22 every week IMO. I've also managed to upgrade Martin to Goldy. Believe my ruck setup will both be the number #1 and #2 scorers this season.
DEF:
Laird, Simpson, Murphy, Gibson, Dea, Brown (Hartley, Adams)
MID:
Ablett, Dangerfield, Rockcliff, Parker, Libba, Wells, Mills, Oliver (Menaude, Gore, Mathieson)
RUCK:
Goldy, Gawn, (Chol)
FWD:
Dusty, Zorko, Barlow, Kennedy, Kerridge, Kommer (McCarthy, Tippa)
Great tool! Still waiting to see who's selected and who's fit. Lot's can happen in two weeks when it comes to pre seasons.
My team is locked in at this for now, Rookies yet to be picked.
DEF: Shaw, Rance, Laird, Rookie, Rookie, Rookie (Rookie, Rookie)
MID: Danger, Hanah's Berries, Priddis, Neale, Rockliff, Parker, Lib, Rookie (Rookie, Rookie)
Ruck: Nicanata, GAAWN (Dual eligible Rookie)
FWD: Barlow, Kennedy, Steele, Wells, Rookie, Rookie (Rookie, Rookie)
With the spots left to fill and cash remaining I can afford to spend an avg of $130k per rookie which will be more than enough. Also planning to have enough in the bank to go Neale > Ablett in case he comes out firing.
What do we think community? Am i a mad man?
Some of the best rookies this year are over $130k. Something to consider. Not sold on Steele but rest look ok.
Absolutely agree. The average needs to be 130, meaning I can get the 150 rookies as long as i balance it with the 117 rookies. Easily done
I reckon you're mad for leaving out Kerridge
Kerridge will almost certainly be in my team provided he is picked round 1 which he should be
My oversight he was obviously accounted for by one of your 'rookie'
Never put a team on here so please give advice. Thanks.
DEF: Shaw, Laird, JJ,Weiterling,Brown,Hartley (Collins & Ruggles
MID: Fyfe,Dangerfield,Ablett,Shiel,Rockliff,Libba,Mills,Oliver (Menadue,Gresham,Dunkley)
Ruck: Nic Nat, Gawn (grimley)
FWD: Zorko,Barlow,Hall,Wells,Gault,Kerridge ( Petracca & AMT)
Looks good, similar to a lot of teams. Zorko to watch as he may get suspended.
Thanks. Dont think I have to much $$$ on MID bench?
The point is for them to make money, so it is important they play. No point spending 102k on a non player.
Great work Barron
Anyone think that Hewett from Sydney makes best 22
If he has some speed he's a real chance. Anyone know if he's quick?
We all need a cheap mid now that Cameron took out Mathieson.
Not blistering fast but up to the pace of the game. I expect him to be on the bubble about mid season. Can play forward which will help because he's only a skinny lad still and the Swans midfield is loaded.
Was a emergency many times last year, should get a few games but I'm not sure when
Happy Birthday to Higgo!
what do you think of patrick cripps. can he pump out scores of 100-110 each week..? I believe he can, but with other options such as Luke parker and Joel Selwood. Im not sold on him..
Yes he will definitely score 100's
KK or Laird
I think Laird will have a great season.
im thinking laird is the better option, less of a chance to spud up maybe
Both for me, the more who jump off KK the better
